My partner was helping me bake cookies and I kept rolling out the balls too big to fit on the tray and he went

"if it makes you feel any better this is really hot."

And I said " what my devil may care attitude towards cookie sizes?"

" no that you approach baking like a toddler."

I can't let him see that that made me blush.

I'm so excited for the return of Helluva Boss. I read somewhere that The Full Moon should be coming out March or April and March is almost over- so probably April.

Maybe the 23rd to line up with the real full moon? That would be cool- even if it's a bit of a longer wait than I'd like.

what's ur process for writing fics?

My writing process is one of rigorous self discipline that I would require no one else to subject themselves to!

I have four "Outlining" stages.

1.) Concept Stage

2.) Character Arcs

3.) Synopsis Stage

4.) Chapter Outline.

I'm not going to go super into detail, but the way I start every writing project, which I believe is def the most important thing to know for everyone who loves writing and growing their skill is the Concept stage.

It follows this very simple structure;

[Sympathetic character] must reach a goal [believability] because if not they will lose something vital [high stakes], but what they don’t know is [twist].

The concept WILL contain spoilers because it's mostly for yourself and helps you already know how the story will end and how you need to get to said end. I'll show an example but it will be leaving out the *twist* which is where most of the spoilers are.

This is how all my stories start off, and I simply build up from there!

Also, for fics specifically, I always Write In Advance. That is the only way I can keep myself from burning out, esp bc sometimes interaction can be a little low and it helps when I have a backlog. Usually I'll write at least 20 chapters in advance and then start publishing it to Ao3.

P.S... I've started doing a new thing where I've made a bullet point list of very important symbols and motifs I will need to sprinkle throughout my stories.

In my upcoming Serial Killer story... The curtains... Are not JUST blue...

Snippet Sunday

Thanks for the tags @narcissa-black-supermacy and @r33sespieces. I’m doing so many anonymous fests right now that it’s virtually impossible to find a snippet, but I’ve decided that this thing, which was going to be for a fest, won’t be (I’ll just have to think of another thing to write for that) so, here, have a piece of...something 👀

“Cissy.”

She flinches at the nickname, her gaze narrowing.

“Who are you?” She asks, her voice not wavering and her hand perfectly steady as she steps up next to her husband. She looks the same as he remembers her, only perhaps slightly older, the lines in her face a little deeper.

Sirius makes a small jerk with his head, the corner of his mouth twitching.

“You’re telling me you don’t recognise your long lost cousin?”

“Sirius is dead,” she spits, her eyes dragging over him and he can see her mother hinting in her features, an expression strangely familiar. “So who are you?”

Sirius keeps the grin on his face even as he lowers his wand slightly, spreading both arms in an obliging sort of gesture. 

“I promise you, it’s me.” 

“Bella killed Sirius,” she sneers, a sharpness to her face that’s new.
