hmm okay to round up some current disparate tmagp thoughts into one place:

-> the fear taxonomy: I'm not quite sure where I sit on the desires theory currently, but I think it's worth noting that while both of our case subjects from the first episode were explicitly afraid of the spooky things happening to them, none of the rest have been, and I think it's really interesting that tom the horror blogger's whole problem was that he was so desensitized to fear it made him foolhardy (the exact thing our lovely ms georgina barker overcompensated so hard to avoid). yes, you could pick probably any archives statement and try to frame it around a desire instead of a fear because that's how character motivations work, but I don't think it's wrong to point out that since episode two all of our subjects have been remarkably chill about the Horrors happening to them. I'm not totally onboard with the desires at time of writing, I think there a few details that don't quite line up with that idea, but I'm still keeping a pin in the theory.

I also don't think it's wrong to point out that things like "music so hauntingly beautiful it makes a crowd tear itself to bloody pieces" and "paranoia and eye-related gore popping up in conjunction to the magnus institute" are familiar scenarios and seem to match up to the entities as we know them. those are very specific motifs connected to very specific types of Horrors and I think saying it's random coincidence that we're seeing them again is a bit of a weird take.

-> norris, chester, and augustus. in-universe, these voices appeared out of nowhere about a year ago, and one of the central mysteries set up so far is "what the hell is up with all this weird tech?", I think it is a perfectly reasonable assumption to think these voices are part of the mystery and not just an excuse to get jonny and alex's voices in the show. if that were the case, why would there be a third voice? yes, this podcast is meant to be comprehensible to new listeners, but I don't think that rules out any direct ties to archives, I think part of the function of having fresh protagonists who don't know anything about the events of archives is that, if the audience needs to learn anything about the first show, they can learn it along with a viewer-surrogate character.

personally, I think it very unlikely that the voices are literally jon, martin, and jonah's actual consciousnesses trapped in computers, I think those characters' stories are done and there's something funkier happening here (neither them nor not them but a secret third thing, yknow), but dismissing any idea that the voices are related to the characters, again, feels like a weird take.

-> gwen bouchard. honestly I feel like the way the production team have treated gwen's connection to elias vs the way some fans have come at is kind of illustrative. I've seen a couple of groups of fans get weirdly smug about the idea that we don't know gwen is related to elias, her name could just be a red herring, meanwhile on the tmagp post-launch stream everyone there took it as obvious that gwen is a bouchard and thus related to elias. not everything is red herrings, guys. it would be an extremely weird writing move to set up a bunch of stuff with clear links and parallels to archives and have it all be meaningless.

heart is the lowest-empathy of the bunch. he gets caught up in his own emotions, no time for anyone else's. if someone else is upset when it's happy, it'll be annoyed at them. if someone else is happy when it's upset, it'll... also be annoyed at them. it's an involuntary response, sometimes he feels bad about it later. usually he doesn't. whether or not he acts on it depends on how pissedoff he is

mind is the highest-empathy, by some counts; she is the most capable of properly understanding others' feelings, but what she decides to do with that information varies. they generally (try to) remain composed, of course.

soul doesn't know what an empathy is. has considered herself low empathy in tthe past due to not really reacting to others pain with much more than 'uhm. Awkward!!..." but also cannot bring himself to kill an ant in his shower because it Feels Bad despite threatining the other two's lives as, yknow, a major point of the loop so?? who even the fuck knows. theyre all also alexythemic as shit. they rarely know how they feel unless the emotion is very powerful and even then it's basically either 'Good' or 'Bad' with little recognition for nuanced tones--with the exception of anger, which they feel clearly and distinctly.

heart mains artificer. has claimed to relate to them, mind told him that this is what some might call a 'red flag'. has several really cool region mod ideas but no lediting skills, alas. a lore guy more than a tech guy. despite not knowing much in the way of movement, is a force to be reckoned with in arena mode. also relates to pebbles, but in a slightly different way

soul mains rivulet (gotta go fast!) and genuinely cried when getting their ending with moon. tends to prefer vanilla to downpour, but has an attachment to each individual downpour campaign (it's complicated). ascension supporter. out of all of them, i think soul is the most likely to actually engage with the fandom. saint kinnie, because of fucking course they are /silly

Now, first things first, yall know Walter upgraded the FUCK out of Killians body mods. Like he went "that looks cool! But i can make it better :) just saying :)"; now killian has better, comfier, smoother tech, like an actual robot hand instead of a claw; his eye was already pretty nice, Walter just helped make it more natural looking in case of malfunction, n avoid any pain n shit like that

Walter has Killian wrapped around his lil finger its insane. Anyone with any prior context of everything between them just doesnt know how to act. Walter wants a water? Ok but does he want it flavoured? Iced? Natural? Walter looks at Killian with those big blue eyes and suddenly he just has to touch him in any way.

Walter is definitely the chill half of this couple. Walters the anchor. And im not saying chill like in general, Walter is still is cute energetic self, what i mean is only one of them will become a flustered mess after their first kiss and think abt it forever all the time, especially at night while he watches the other sleep and pets his hair and is overwhelmed by the amount of Feelings he has for the other (killian is so emotionally repressed but then walter is the way he is n he just naturally forces killian not to be that way by just fucking breathing, n its very disorienting for Killian)

Killians not affected by sleep hours all that much, he goes to sleep whenever n then wakes up whenever n he'll be fine. Walter, however, is not a morning person. Can u imagine walter grumpy? Well, killian has now experienced it many times. Its actually how he first realized his feelings for walter. Its stupid endearing (he'd never admit this tho ofc)

Killian bites as a love language. Theyre very soft (sometimes >:)) n walter always turns beet red when he does them

Its hard for both of them to say i love u, but for different reasons. Killian, for ur regular degular emotional repression. Walter, because he never had meaningful emotional n intimate relationships to warrant saying that except for his mom, so saying it gives him anxiety like no other. So, they do that thing where u tap someone 3 times as "i love you" n then the other taps back 4 times "i love you too"

Killian never had the habit for listening to music. Walter introduced him to kpop n it all went downhill from there (his main group is dreamcatcher, because he has taste. His bias is dami)

Walter needs glasses but always forgets them. Killian is now used to carrying around two pairs of glasses: one for himself, n a duplicate of Walters glasses

ok so my second semester has started in full swing, meaning i don't have time to actually make any fanworks for @mcytphysicaldisabilityweek but i WANT TO SO BAD. so today i'm telling you all about my hcs about empires!sausage and vision impairment.

so this hc spawned from a joke sausage made in jimmy's season 2 episode 13 (around the 9 minute mark) while they're searching for the warden fwhip gave as a "present". he refers to his free cam as his "detachable eye" and this offhanded joke kinda spiraled in my mind.

so s1 sausage gets into a very bad fight when he's in his late teens/early 20s. the injuries are very severe, and one particularly bad one results in the loss of his left eye. he gets a glass eye after this, but it's solely an aesthetic thing, it is not a visual prosthetic and does not supplement his vision in any way, as that technology/magic (it's weird in empires, it's inherently weird in any world where magic just Exists) either doesn't exist or isn't particularly developed yet. i haven't decided which it is but either way he does not have a bionic eye/visual prosthetic.

he only has the one glass eye, which perfectly matches his natural eye color (he's got the money to make it a really nice one, as king). when he starts to be overtaken by the corruption, however, his right eye starts turning red. this means it no longer matches the glass eye. after he gets kicked out of the wra and goes Full Evil he says "hm, fuck it" and starts wearing an eye patch instead. he thinks the red eye looks cooler if it's not offset by the blue one. once again, this man values aesthetics over all else. he could always get a red eye made, but he decides not to, he's too busy with Evil Plans and the like.

after blood sausage + good boy sausage get separated, good boy sausage goes back to wearing the glass eye immediately. in his mind, people associate the lack of it+the eye patch with him being evil, so he doesn't want to wear them (and like, people don't not associate that with blood sausage, but they also wouldn't have begrudged him for wearing it. he's just got! a lot of insecurities and issues! but i digress).

blood sausage obviously uh. can't access any tech in The Void and even when he makes his way into his own world, he sticks to the eye patch cause, like, why would he do anything different. he thinks he looks sick as fuck (he's right). in my mind he's got one of these cool decorative ones like this lady shows off on her social media:

anyways. s2 sausage also injures his eye resulting in the scar+vision impairment, though his injury happens when he's a child (like, 7-10 years old). it's not an injury from some sort of weapon like s1 sausage. i'm thinking, like, a rock or a tree branch or something else a small child is liable to get near and hurt themselves with. by the time this happens to him, however, it's been 1,000 years and something akin to the bionic eyes/visual prosthetics we have in the real world have been developed (though not exactly like the real world ones, as from what i understand, patients only qualify for them irl if the vision damage is in both eyes. which, with how different the vision is in a bionic eye than a normal eye, makes sense but. i don't care i wanna give more characters visual impairments because more characters SHOULD have cannon visual impairments. anyways.)

so he gets a visual prosthetic akin to a bionic eye but adjusted for. yknow. existing in a world where there's magic. vision in his left eye is not completely restored, ala a bionic eye in the real world, but it does help him get a limited scope of vision in that eye back.

however, when blood sausage+s2 sausage merge, this is a very big jump for blood sausage. he's never had vision in that eye before, and suddenly having it, even if it's not to the same scope as their right eye, is extremely off putting and difficult to get used to. for a while, the two of them cut a deal in order to allow blood sausage to get used to the additional sensory input. while sausage has had this for like, 30 years of his life at this point, and is used to doing everything with it, he's willing to wear an eye patch while not doing particularly strenuous or dangerous activities (during which he'd need the full extent of his vision so he doesn't hurt himself) in order to give blood sausage a break from the stimulation as he gets used to the change. he's already getting used to so much by issue of being in a different body than his own, and one that like... ages and shit too, so they work out a way to accommodate the changes. idk man i just think they're neat.

I forgot most of Voltron and I wanted to watch it again just to see where it went wrong + maybe rewrite it. Most of this list is grievances and high praises. But yknow- it’s fun for me.

Hunk deserves better

I distinctly remember from the end of voltron that hunk didn’t have alot of moments to shine. I’m only in episode 5 as of writing this point and I see SO MUCH PROMISE. He’s a great middle man, he’s loyal as hell, and he’s so smart! The following seasons are gonna be painful for me I know it.

Holy shit us Klance shippers were sooooo desperate. Like- my god. We fucking ran with that shit to the universe and back god damn. And it all started from that one line. I don’t know if I should be proud or disappointed my god.

Since we’re talking about this ship- there are a lot of missed opportunities for Keith and Lance’s dynamic and individual character. Like, I think, we all forget that Lance was the person who came up with the plan, when him and Keith were supposed to sabotage the galra forces at Balmera (living mining planet). Lance was actively aware of the planets saltines and he stopped kids from acting on his impulses, resulting in them (initially) covertly deactivating  the hanger so they can prevent further reinforcements.

I also don’t like how the scene introduces Keith’s heritage. I understand that this is a set up for a greater plot point and we’re not really supposed to know how Keith activates galra tech but- fuck I need to go on a tangent in the later seasons if I go along with this series of blog posts, I guess

I really like the idea of the lions being specific with who they allow in as their pilots. However, I wish that the selectiveness was a longer process. And key situation it was a life or death one. It felt like the redline had to actively choose, whether or not to save him from the deep vacuum of space. Meanwhile, for pitch it was just oh hop in and get going you know. Same with Shiro I get that he unlocked the synchronicity of the lien and pilot relationship immediately, but it feels too give in.

Piggybacking off of that I don’t like that Alura basically assigns the paladins Hogwarts houses as soon as she sees them. I think that’s bullshit. I got that she grew up with the lions and was born shortly after their creation but still. 

I also like how during battle of the lines actively recommend which strategies and weapons, the pilot should use, and which ones they refused to go along with

I've been looking at some of your stuff about your Jervis design, and I have a question! How exactly does he hypnotize his victims? Is it with his pocketwatch? Some sort of tech? A combo of both? I'd like to know!

I was thinking it's a LOT of things tbh lol.

When I draw him, he usually has his full gambit of tech, I'm picturing him like a reoccuring villain in a tv show so yknow, they always have a new idea every try, so he can do a bit of everything hypnosis wise.

primarily, he was known to hypnotize people by feigning to be a high fashion hat designer. So the hats are perfect mind control, like the 10/6 tags in btas, but his tech is a little more archaic, so it has to be a physical machine in the interior of a hat not just a microchip. And normal hypnosis, like magician hypnosis, may have been used in advertising or spreading the word at the time. Subliminal messaging and all that. He's just a master of the field in general.

You'll also notice he has a cane with red eyes too! Yes, those eyes also do something! It lets out red light, like a flashlight beam, that puts people in a trance, basically a quick way to immobilize a crowd, though they can be shaken out of it by someone else.

dont get me wrong, i adore basically every single official tot pv because the animated the 3D assets and editing and music is always so top tier. whoever at hyv is in charge of pv production, they are absolute unsung heroes cuz all the pvs are So Good

but this one is my fave cuz it's the first time a Main Story trailer did such a drastic tone/mood/atmosphere change. all the Main Story trailers prior to this one were, while very suspenseful and cool and high-stakes feeling, generally follow the same formula of "3D visuals, futuristic elements, super intense!" but this one had such a fresh and different theme to it!!! it's so reminiscent of classic murder mystery vibes (A MURDER ON A CRUISE SHIP!!!!!) ala agatha christie yknow. the shift from the usual high-tech 3D scale models and information transitioning to the old-style parchment invite and ink effects and fonts and music, it's just so //CHEF'S KISS!!!!

i think a close 2nd fave would probably be the 2nd Halloween Event, Enchanting Whispers PV, for a similar reason but the other way around: the shift from classic/archaic visuals of the map and music and then the beat DROPS into modernity when they reveal luke's card. //CHEF'S KISS ONCE MORE

Roman Valdez (alias: Hurricane. He's basially Superman, was an alien baby who crashlanded on earth. - Costume is white with a red? gold? H on his chest, red cape, red boots and gloves. probably not masked Or has a little over-the-eyes Green Lantern/Mr Incredible style mask. Probably built like Mr Incredible too)

Remus Valdez (alias: Maelstrom. He's basically Aquaman. Also not human - half-Atlantean (im gonna steal this i can do what I like). Raised on the surface. Can control water and sea life, can talk to fish, LOVES octopi/tentacle motif above all else. - Costume: probably yknow super green black and silver, probably has that scale-like skintight chest piece and maybe some armour motifs (bc Atlantis) Face is not covered)

Side note: i think Roman And Remus were found by like. a lighthouse keeper. who went oh boy!!! free sons!!! and raised them as brothers. They fully consider each other brothers. they grew up together and hero together, probs dont live together currently tho.

also i came up with the names separately but it means they both named themselves after weather phenomena and that is twin behaviour godbless

the three of them have something like a justice league together - it probably has Other Heroes in it part time too but. waves hand. background characters. They have an HQ. Somewhere.

Janus [Surname Pending] (alias: Siren. A magician-cross-catburlgar... he's like... Catwoman if she had Zatanna's powers and aesthetics. Magic is real and he has it. And uses it for. Well. Everything. Morally grey rogue rather than evil villain. He's still super fucking with Guardian. - Costume: face half-scaled (genuinely from a magic curse) the other half masked phantom of the opera style. wears like... a magician's get up crossed his canon outfit but with bootyshorts and fishnets)

Logan Sanders (alias: [pending]. He's not really evil, or, not if you ask him. But he does think having these so called super-'heroes' running around without a contingency plan is... irresponsible. In private he is building a mech suit capable of taking down Hurricane Should He Need Taking Down. Has strong morals <- not good morals, just strong morals. Sometimes funds smaller villains/rogues for ,,,reasons. Patton is his secretary but they dont know the other is hero/villain (a shame, if they were on the same side, they'd get along very well) - Costume: well. it's a mech-suit, bulkier / more armoured than, say Iron Man, but not,, like,,, ten feet tall. all cold steel, maybe burnished black in parts, and i can see it having a visor with electronic eyes that can be Logan's signature blue.

Virgil (Surname Pending) (alias: [also pending] <- probably storm Or shadow related. He's the most nebulous to me right now but tbh i can see a semi-harley quinn backstory where he was tangled up with a gangleader who won him over into a life of crime but he's not that happy (i.e., open to...persuasion) with it. Don't know if he should have powers or not... - Costume: blacks, purples w/ hints of yellow. Hood covers hair and eyes and mask covers lower face. dresses in layers typical of like... a medieval assassin (he's not an assassin) (he's probably killed people before tho)

Virgil and Janus have probably crossed paths before as their rogue aliases. Janus has met Logan (under a fake name). it's possible Logan (in costume, under alias) has worked with Virgil/Virgil's boss before. so I came up with ANOTHER fucked up AU thingy where Eggman has to take care of one of his nephews for a bit and not even a day into the guy staying there he's already creating a fucked up clone of Shadow using modern tech to "improve" upon the old formula (turns out the guy basically worships Gerald like a fucking idol not even knowing who Gerald had been BEFORE he lost his marbles) and DID make this clone to be a weapon, for Eggman. Because he wants to impress Eggman.

So he lets this fucked up Shadow lookin fucker with alien DNA go in an attempt to get him to kill Sonic (oh by the way he also has wings and a big-ass tail, and no Chaos Energy control yet), but that fails and Sonic and Shadow are just.... baffled by him????

And later on Shadow fucking kills him, decapitates him, and buries him because he knows the guy will just regen and the alien shit will make his head reattach, so it just serves to stall for time to figure shit out.

More shit happens, he gets upgrades that allow for Chaos Control, and then the guy sees how Sonic and Shadow interact in battle and even just when talking (he was made to assume the two hated one another, even thinking he was doing Shadow a "favor" by trying to kill Sonic), and then becomes obsessed with the idea of "care" and "affection" and demands that the nephew, his creator, gives him the ability to feel those things (which he can actually ALREADY feel, he just is being gaslit by Eggman and the nephew into thinking he can't).

The nephew basically tells him "go kill Shadow and I'll do it", and he fucking DOES. he literally goes and fights him, then slices him and uses his Chaos Spear to jab and tear Shadow's head off the same way Shadow had done to him before. So he takes the head, feeling absolutely disgusted and awful with himself, teleports back to the place, and drops it for the nephew to see. Only, he's told by the guy that the whole "giving him emotions" thing cant actually happen, because the nephew doesnt know HOW to do that. So? The guy fucking kills him too out of pure rage and grief, because he never WANTED to kill Shadow, he was just so fucking desperate to have what "he had".

Meanwhile, Sonic ends up discovering the leftover headless corpse of Shadow and has a fucking breakdown and is absolutely traumatized by the sight, which is very much understandable. He runs back home to the others and cant even speak because he's so choked up, and it takes Rouge outright going out on a limb and asking "where the hell is Shadow?" for them to get a response outta him (the response being him only starting to cry harder). Rouge goes to try to find whatever Sonic saw, and Tails follows despite being told not to after alerting Knuckles and asking him for help. The two end up ALSO seeing the body, before heading back to the house where Rouge then proceeded to ALSO break down because. Yknow. Her best friend is fucking dead.

HOWEVER.

A few hours pass, things are still grim and... oddly quiet... Until they hear and frightened scream followed by frantic door knocks. Amy would end up letting Sticks in (yes Sticks exists here i love her too much) who starts rambling about some "horror creature from the forest here to take them to the grave" and that makes Knuckles, Tails, and Rouge curious enough to hurry out and follow her. Amy would also follow after making sure Sonic would be okay, however he would end up actually following solemnly purely due to his curiosity, and not wanting to be alone.

Well, what they find is a figure slowly limping and hobbling, holding onto it's horribly mangled, grotesque, and unrecognizable bloodied head, which throbbed and pulsated, strange spikes sticking out of it from different angles, and one singular red eye on the front.

So everyone is fucking mortified, but... Rouge and Tails immediately realize, holy fucking shit, is that SHADOW??? Because the "corpse" part, the body, was still bloodied like before, with the same tears on the neck, just... with a pulsating mass now growing from it.

Rouge decided to risk it and went to the... thing.... and wrapped her arms around it, and when he slowly returned the gesture, she realized.... oh god, what the fuck. it IS him.

And Sonic, who had finally made his way to the area they were in, peaked through the bushes and nearly fucking tackled the poor bastard in a hug while starting to sob once again.

But Shadow was weak as hell at this point, and... unable to speak, he had to desperately try to draw images of the Emeralds in the dirt to get them to know what he needed.

The Emeralds would, if he had access to all of them, be able to heal his head completely. So, he had to trust that they'd find the damn things.

They brought him back to the house and Knuckles and Rouge left to find the Emeralds.

Amy ended up seeing on a news station that SOMETHING was attacking Station Square, however, quite a far ways away, and of course being the idiot he is, now with a bit more pep to him, Sonic left to handle that (and also, he was both absolutely enraged over what the fucker had done, yet also... oddly curious about who the hell he truly was, despite that.)

He gets to the city and finds the Weapon tearing fissures through the earth with his energy before they get locked into combat, and the Weapon is shrieking and crying all the while as he yells his believed "purpose" at Sonic, that Eggman has promised him freedom if he were to put an end to the blue hedgehog, that he would get what he needed to live a proper life, that he'd never wanted to kill, that he killed his creator because he'd lied, that he just wanted to feel the things that everyone else could.

And they'd be interrupted in the middle of the fight by.... A slightly less mangled Shadow, who'd been given 3 Emeralds thus far and had enough ability to open a strange sort of maw and speak in broken, rough words.

He told the Weapon it was useless. The Weapon screamed that he should be dead.

"Just. Like. You... Ali...en....."

The Weapon told him he just wanted to live, just wanted to exist as something more.

"Been. There... Done..... That."

The Weapon barked back desperate words, pleads, while Shadow, to Sonic's bewilderment, was entirely calm.... Perhaps even.... Caring? Understanding?

Shadow pointed out the Weapon's tears, his voice... He told the other that he could already feel, that the Doctor was using him. He was lying to him. He told him that he didn't have to follow this path.

And after silence, the Weapon simply Chaos Controlled away.

Sonic and Shadow would return home, and Knuckles and Rouge would finally return with the last Emeralds needed for Shadow's head to properly be reformed.... Though how it had looked prior would remain in the back of everyone's minds. It was... Kinda horrifying lol.

And the Weapon? He'd be taken back and locked up by Eggman, who would end up repeating his Grandfather's steps and fuck up his memories before deciding to give him some mechanical "upgrades".

He would then simply name him "Razor," as a code name.

Alien DNA and blood still ran through his veins, and as such, he still held connection to Shadow, even with mechanical replacement limbs and weaponry at his disposal.

As such, with enough focus... Shadow came to the realization that... He might be able to....

"You are... Like me. I know your mind, I know what he did. He's a fool, repeating a process done so long ago, one so easily broken and reversed. I know what you're feeling... You're scared.

You're just as I had been... Yet... In a way, you're exactly what I'd feared I truly was. Yet I wasn't, and you are. A weapon, designed to hurt, yet you crave the bonds others share with one another, you plead for someone to help you, to give you the care and love you truly deserve, as another person living amongst them. Amongst us. You are me, and I am you, and yet, we are truly only ourselves.

What is.... Your name?"

And the Weapon didn't reply.

Razor. Razor. Razor.

The name echoed in his mind, and Shadow could hear it loud and clear... Yet...

He still awaited the name the Weapon would give. The name the Weapon would choose.

HAH so. Like Riol... it is entirely possible, likely even, that Gaius has tried to kill Lyrha before. Or at least sent men after her. She would steal from Garlemald as readily as from anyone else. That magitek is valuable!!

I think, if they met after her Red Mage makeover, they might actually have a lot in common. Shared trauma! Either of them trying to make a fuss about who they were in the past would be a little too pot-kettle, I think, and they might be able to bond over how hard it is to have yesterday hanging over you when you're trying to be a better person today.

In a way they were both deceived by the system they grew up in. And to be honest, if Lyrha had been conscripted by Garlemald instead of kidnapped by slavers, she'd have done very well for herself. She knows how to maneuver the spheres of ambition; would have figured out how the system worked and made it dance for her. And she'd certainly have been all about ingratiating herself to powerful figures who could help her get ahead and offer her security. It wouldn't hurt that Gaius is pretty easy on the eyes. Livia... would have ended up dying under mysterious circumstances. Nothing anyone could prove. >>

I headcanon Lyrha was also involved in helping with the Weapons arc. Trying to rescue those "kids" from the horrible situations they were forced into is liable to become... extremely personal to her. Hits a little bit close to home. It might matter to Gaius that she's fighting so incredibly hard to try to save his children.

So yknow I hadn't thought about it before but its entirely possible these two have hooked up a time or two. I think at the very least they'd be buddies. She'd pester him incessantly

(also bet there's some fun ship names to be pulled out the "Black Wolf" and "Calico Coerl" pairing up)

While I don't see Nero being able to stop showboating long enough to win Nahte's heart, I could see situations where it might have been taken into consideration, and a little bit of courtship engaged.

Nero seeks a lot of validation, and works very hard to earn it, and I think Nahte would be good about telling Nero how much he appreciates the work the man does. Nahte's also extremely smart and might be able to help Nero work through some of those finicky arcane aspects to tech (assuming Nero would accept the help, anyway)

I don't think Nero ever really successfully fooled Nahte into thinking he was only out for himself, but the insistence was amusing. Nahte, I think, trusted Nero far more quickly than just about anyone else during the Crystal Tower and Omega arcs.

Could see lots of late, coffee-fueled nights with the two of them pouring over research, and Nero constantly trying to equip Nahte with very large guns and fancy magitek armor (those "barriers" of your only extend as far as your aether, Nahte, you need something dependable that can't be dispelled >:C )

Being said, I'm not 100% sure how Nero would handle Nahte being polyamorous. Nero doesn't seem like he'd take well to ""sharing"" anything, he'd probably keep trying to turn it into a competition... xD

thinking about the mod who kicked me this morning because when they @ everyone'd with "TURN OFF AUTO UPDATES WINDOWS IS BSOD" I simply said "hey, do you have a source for that?" Because im over 20, am techliterate and need even the barest amount of like.. information? before i take alarmist tech advice off the internet?

They then went on a rant about how if I didn't trust them i should leave (red flag alarm everyone) and after me and one other lurker tried to calmly explain how skepticism is the literal first line of defence, and that asking for a source is not a personal attack they kicked us both which was EXTREMELY normal.

Anyway its been a couple hours and it turns out this bug (while it is very bad) only affects computers with Crowdstrike's Anti-Malware software installed, a software that is only available for business licences, and has exactly no single users that might be on a gaming discord server.

So yknow, vindication tastes delicious and all.
