This includes swan#I feel like phrases like these ; how he was put on a pedistal…. it lead him to be Like That#as awful as he is he desperately needed help#it might seem like vanity on the surface#but i think its… more than that#long story short: we need to destroy the beauty industry. the skincare industry. the anti-aging industry#It ruined his psyche forever and he cant let go of the ideal version of himself he will never truly be again#i dont think he can at this point. hes in too deep and hes suffering for it no matter how much he feels hes fixed his problems#he cant accept a version of himself that isnt that perfect young man. because he never confronted his problems. he just ran away#anyways . Neynari's parents and Se'txelu/Rolukx's parents, respectively. I've sketched concepts for these characters before, but it's been two years and they were sorely in need of updates. So here's updated concepts!
#oeyä ayskxawngtsyìp#given some of the NPC designs in afop: artificial hair coloring as a fashion seems to be canon for the western frontier clans#(i assume it's artificial coloring and not natural variation because the little tuft on the tailtips is always standard black#even when the head hair is red/brown/blonde)#(and also you can unlock greenish and purplish hues for the player character's hair)#ANYWAYS yeah that said i imagine Seylana started coloring her hair blonde after Neynari was born#to match her daughter :)#vontxu has a bit of an unsettling demeanor but i promise he's actually a nice guy lol#just not always great at expressing himself#tanu's scars come from a near-fatal hunting accident he was involved in when rolukx and se'txelu were young#as you can see he did survive and is fine now...but it was a close call#lunaya wears an absolutely ridiculous amount of hair beads and yes they do all make clicky clacky noises every time she shifts even an inch#might clean/color these eventually (or draw new ones to clean/color) but. we'll see#i do want to do at least one colored doodle of seylana and young!neynari just for the hair color thing#but when will i do that? who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#could be this weekend. could be next year ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ we'll see#my art

i could honestly write a whole essay on how the internet’s obsession with romanticizing ‘girl dads’ while simultaneously making fun of ‘boy moms’ and gender reveal parties is directly related to a pervasive lack of care for trans men&mascs even among supposedly pro-trans people.
#if people cared about young transmascs at all#they would not be encouraging dads to make their whole identity as a parent based around their kid being a girl#because if they cared about us they would realize that some of those kids might not be girls#and that those kids will absolutely feel how their parent looks at them differently when they don’t fit that father-daughter image anymore#it’s also very much based in misogyny. that would be part of the essay too#we’re very comfortable making fun of moms and don’t care how the parenting we idealize might hurt daughters#tbh we need to start talking about benevolent sexism again#bc some of y’all really seem to think that as long as the surface content is positive it can’t possibly be harmful#and that’s simply not how any of this works and i thought we already knew that#transandrophobia#transandromisia#transmisandry#virilmisia#virilphobia#anti transmasculinity#transmascphobia

Would Machete and Vasco classify as twinks? For Machete I am pretty sure he would, I don't know about Vasco though. So very sorry for this question btw but I can't stop thinking about it.
To be entirely honest I'm not sure, I think the term is pretty subjective. I generally try to avoid putting too many labels on them, they start to feel so oppressive so fast.
#for example one of the qualifications is relatively young age#both of them are in their thirties so you could potentially argue they might be past that prime twink era#or not depends on who you ask#and the ideal 'twink body shape' is also up for debate because you're supposed to be slim but not too bony#Vasco might have too much muscle and Machete too little or they could both fit the definition I dunno#I don't mind either way but I probably won't assign categories for them myself#not trying to act holier than thou it just doesn't seem necessary eh#answered#anonymous

idk it sounds reasonable to me for a teenager to run away bc they didn't want to eat their veggies!
one hopes that by the later stages of childhood a parent will have figured out which veggies and preparation styles work for the kid, and the kid will have resigned themself to what they do and don't have to eat according to their parents, and it's all settled into an equilibrium instead of a daily fight. and hopefully as a teen your palette is expanding and you're even willing to eat more veggies then you did as a child.
however, if the kid is extra picky and stubborn, and the parent is extra determined to make sure they eat a good variety (or just eat whatever the parent prepared no matter what it is), it could absolutely continue to be a regularly-repeated fight. and if something is a continued point of contention throughout childhood then it absolutely makes sense for a teen to go FUCK this, i am nearly an ADULT i am done being told to eat my veggies i am gonna prove my independence and make them realize i don't have to just sit there and let them boss me around!!
like, the childishness of the fight is exactly why a teen would run away about it.
#i'm so picky and only got pickier throughout my teen years#i usually just made myself a separate quick meal when i didn't like dinner#if my parents hadn't let me and had tried to insist i eat the same thing as everyone else?#well. idk what i woulda done bc that would require they have an entirely different parenting style overall.#so who knows what kind of person i would be lol#but leaving the house for a couple hours seems pretty reasonable to me#but it's also normal for a parent to have an 'everyone sits at the table and eats what i've prepared' rule#for a variety of reasons ranging from well-meaning to self-centered#and i'm sure there are parents who will even try to foist the same old veggie rules upon adult children visiting for the holiday#i think 'what's the latest age at which a veggie fight might occur' says more about the parents than the kid#since they're the one turning it into a fight instead of letting it go#so ig if you want them to be closer to model parents then sif would have to be pretty young#but i think 'the type of parent to never stop arguing about veggies' is an interesting flaw to add#to make a parent who is loving and wonderful overall but has their own blind spots and mixed up priorities#isat spoilers#isat#siffrin#I UNDERSTAND WHY people think sif must be young and i'm fine w that#this is just my perspective :)#thoughts about siffrin#thoughts

Aerois did not have enough Spellclash and Sky jousting, so I need Altheya to make up for that with lots of knights and tournaments. Therefore I present to you Altheya knight AU!
#high rollers#rollonsunday#altheya#altheyatde#daisy thistleheart#ophelia d'larosa#In the knight AU everyone is a knight and is doing knight stuff#like tournaments and all that#Little Daisy might not seem like a formidable opponent because she’s young and doesn’t look very strong#but her fighting style is that of a much more experienced fighter#Almost like she isn’t herself when she’s fighting#Ophelia is sort of the dark mystery knight from a far away land#and there are so many stories about her that couldn’t possibly be true#or could they?? surely not right#She is rarely ever seen without her helmet in public so her identity is a mystery to most as well#which doesn’t help with the rumours either#So so so obsessed with this new AU you can’t even believe how bad it is😭#I’m sorry Gruff I know being a knight is your thing but you’re the last one on my list to draw for this I’m so so sorry

do you have any advice about boycotting? I have been trying to follow bds but people online are always calling for boycotts and saying people are supporting genocide for bot boycotting xyz and Im having a lot of anxiety about it. Obviously feelings arent more important than not supporting a genocide etc
There's a bit of discussion of boycotts at the moment, so it seemed like a good time to finally respond. I do have advice - very simple and strong advice. The point of a boycott isn't individual moral purity, it's using collective power.
The starting point for building collective power has to be people resisting oppression. Just like a strike can only be called by the workers, a legitimate boycott can only be called by those who are resisting oppression.
For the last 20 years, a coalition that crosses Palestinian society has called for Boycott, Disinvestment and Sanctions. I follow what they say - I don't give a shit about what people online are saying. They are very clear about their strategy - and the important of strategic boycotts. There are some global targets, and then other targets are organised locally - the link above includes information about how to find out what the local calls are.
I believe there is a strong moral and political imperative to observe BDS. I hope that the clear direction and the short list will help with your anxiety.
I think it's really important to understand that there's a principle here - it's not just about BDS. When offering solidarity, you start with what organised groups resisting oppression have asked for. Don't listen, or get stressed out about what random strangers have said.
******
There is, I think, another point, which is just as important. People who are going around making up targets are actively harming the Palestinian Liberation struggle. There are two messages I hope people get from this post - the first is that the starting point of meaningful solidarity is what people collectively resisting oppression are asking for. The second is that the sort of mouthing off online that is stressing you out is actively doing harm - and anyone who wants to do meaningful political work - has to stop pretending that indulging in self-righteous and reactionary social media posting has anything to do with meaningful political work.
There are two reasons that people who make up things they think other people should do actively does harm. One is that it undermines the ability to build power by substituting an individual's voice, for the collective voice of people resisting oppression. Substituting individualism for collectivism is guaranteed to weaken movements
The second is the behaviour you describe is coming from the more reactive parts of our psyche. Politics is about building power through coalitions. When people try and prove they're right and other people are wrong they are letting the anxiety processes of our brains take control - and substituting our most reactionary selves for meaningful political organising - then they're actively getting in the way of building power.
The fact that you're feeling anxious isn't an accident - it's a direct result of other people's choices to act from the reactionary and anxiety part of their pscyhe. If one person is acting from their own anxiety - it absolutely does promote anxiety in others. Good political work comes from building power and coalitions - which involves strengthening relationships - none of which are done best from a position of anxiety (you'll probably be anxious at times, when doing political work - that's really normal. But that's different from anxiety being at the centre of the political work).
I think one of the biggest problems of social media's impact on our ability to organise - is that it's very easy for people who are reacting entirely individualistically, from the reactionary parts of their psyche, guided by their anxiety, to persuade themselves that they're doing collective organising - when they're actually doing the opposite.
I'm sorry you're feeling really anxious. I think it would really help to turn around what you think you're doing. You frame this as not supporting genocide - but that's probably not an option. The political and economic system you are living in supports genocide, and if you imagine you can opt out of that you're setting yourself up to fail. If instead of trying to do the impossible - you focus on acting in solidarity with people collectively resisting their oppression - then it should both be less stressful and more effective. The requests are clear and simple - and you can and should do them.
#Stan culture is driven by anxiety#And that's why it's a really bad mix with politics#My other thought comes from the latest episode of 'If I Speak'#From Novara media#'I think you guys might be thinking about yourselves too much'#is very strong advice#If possibly not in a useful form#(any response which takes it as a criticism - such as 'you're right I'm thinking too much about myself#I should be thinking more about the Palestinians' is very much someone still thinking about themselves#I did strongly disagree with Moya Lothian Mclean's definition of authentic#It seemed very young and a bit exhausting

The way dunmeshi explores character’s personalities through their interactions with others makes me MELT. Like her we have a full page or two dedicated to Marcille’s hair, but it’s not about her hair really, it’s more about how everyone in the party knows how she usually takes such good care of it. They’re so shocked she’s just letting it flop around and that she doesn’t care. It was such an important thing to her that Senshi comments on how good that desire must’ve tasted to the lion. I’m okay! I’m okay!
#Plus chilchuck offering to do it for her shows the dad side of him#and how maybe he’s come to see the party as another family#I might pull a muscle from that reach but idc I’m doing it anyways#but like marcille seemed SO YOUNG when the lion was taking advantage of her#it wouldn’t be too unreasonable to assume the others would realize how childish (not in a bad way) she is#because she puts on such a mature front yknow#like a gifted kid being told they’re an old soul#dungeon meshi#dungeon meshi spoilers#dungeon meshi ch 96

the tudors (2007-2010) / the concubine, by christopher rae / the six queens of henry viii (2016) / zombie (2018), cover by bad wolves / the white princess (2017) / hunting the falcon, by john guy & julia fox / viii, by hm castor / the white queen (2013) / henry viii, by lucy wooding / firebrand (2023)
#christopher rae pls forgive me. your portrayal of henry's memory of this eats all others...i could not NOT include#prism of privilege (he does not know what it is to be 'imprisoned' in the tower. he knows what it is to be confined there. as a child.#in fear it might have well felt like that...but#)#notwithstanding...#then in the tudors we have the prism of#his sanctified memory of his mother#means he wants to believe he had a deep affinity with her. so it's that she 'seemed' calm but he 'knew' she was terrified... (like him)#but elizabeth had experience of being in sanctuary ; very young; for much longer stretches#she would have known what would best comfort her children in that situation#web weaving#2023- allegedly.#and also how different the memory and associations of place are depending on the pov#for henry's subjects it's a place of fear/punishment#for henry it's a place he would associate with refuge ; a fortress of protection and majesty#but also a place of fear and sorrow#it's the place where it's said his uncles were murdered; for once#(the tower was also where his mother had her last lying in; and she died there)#and then it'll have an even more juxtapositional place in his heart/mind as he becomes older#it was where he both welcomed his wife after her coronation and where he sent her to die once he'd decided she'd betrayed him

Hmm...this is where we first start to see that all is not well with All Might and his interpersonal relationships. Because until this point, his awkwardness with Izuku could be at least partially excused by a combination of Izuku being his fan first and All Might being unaccustomed to dealing with teenagers. And All might doesn't know most of the other teachers well, so it's expected he wasn't close to them.
But here is the first hint that shows All Might has been pushing away the people who are close to him for awhile. It's especially kind of jarring that he left Gran Torino, who is a post retirement age old man, alone for years.
#bnha reread#bnha 57#bnha#all might#gran torino#torino sorahiko#like i get gran torino's senility is mostly fake#but not checking up on someone advancing in age who kept him alive when he was young seems a tad callous

“I’ve always wondered what a Steve would taste like,” Eddie says, tapping his chin in thought.
Steve flips a page of his car magazine. “That’s a pretty specific thing to wonder.”
“Mm.” Eddie’s got that mischievous glint in his eye. “Wonder how I could find out.”
“Gee,” Steve says, “I wonder.” And when Eddie gives him an imploring look, he rolls his eyes, and holds out his arm, not even bothering to set his magazine aside. He’s expecting Eddie to lick him, or something, maybe nibble a little, which wouldn’t be the first time. And, as gross as it is, Steve doesn’t really mind. It’s part of Eddie’s weird brand of affection and, for the time being, as close to what Steve wants as he’s going to get. (He’s working on it, though, just needs to be a little more sure the want goes both ways.)
What he’s not expecting is for Eddie to grab his forearm—one hand on Steve’s wrist, the other at his elbow—and bite into it like Steve’s arm’s a fucking chicken drumstick.
“Ow!” Steve pulls his arm away, cradling it to his chest. “What the hell, dude.”
“Oops. Got carried away.”
“Ugh.”
“Sorry,” Eddie says and at least looks it. He reaches for Steve again, saying, “Here, I’ll—”
But Steve just yells, “NO!” and goes back to his magazine, muttering under his breath.
There’s a bruise the precise shape of Eddie’s teeth on Steve’s arm for over a week—it’s summer and he either has to suffer in long sleeves or explain the bruise—and he’s surprised at how guilty Eddie looks.
“I really didn’t mean to bite you that hard,” Eddie says.
“It’s fine. I’ve been bitten by scarier things than you.”
“Still…” Eddie trails off, shifting his weight, then he holds out his arm. “Here, take your revenge.”
“I don’t want revenge.”
“C’mon.” Eddie wriggles his arm. “It’ll make me feel better.”
Steve huffs, but he takes Eddie’s arm and says, “Okay, if you say so,” and he bites into Eddie. Hard.
“Ow!” Eddie pulls his arm away, rubbing it with a wince.
“Hurts, doesn’t it?”
“Hmph.” Eddie crosses his arms over his chest, almost pouting.
“You know,” Steve says, “I can think of better uses for your teeth.”
A faint flush creeps into Eddie’s cheeks and he leans a little closer. “Yeah?”
“Yeah.” Steve leans in, closer and closer and then he shoves a pack of chips at Eddie. “Open these for me, will you?”
Eddie blinks, looks disappointed a moment—which Steve definitely doesn’t miss—and then takes the packet. He rips it open with his teeth and gives it back to Steve.
“Thanks, man,” Steve says, grinning as he shoves a handful of chips in his mouth.
Eddie sighs, reaching over and dipping his hand in the packet. “Any time,” he says, “that’s what I’m here for,” chomping his stolen chips.
#steddie#Steve x eddie#I was super tired when I wrote this so blame it on that 🤣#also it might seem like this was inspired by that I’ve always wondered what I’d taste like meme#but it’s inspired by something that happened to me long before that lmao#(as a teenager but also honestly I think as a young adult? i have bitey friends 🤣)#i just think Eddie would bite with very little provocation so Steve should be happy there was any kind of lead up there 🤣#pizzaqueenfic

Back when mahiru thought his uncle might be dead he had a flashback to the accident that resulted in his mother's death, but one thing I noticed is that we don't actually see akira in this memory? It feels like either mahiru (or someone like lily or jeje) is supressing his memory here.
And if someone possibly killed akira on purpose, who was it and why?
#servamp#akira shirota#mahiru shirota#I mean the biggest plot twist would actually be that she faked her death and is actually alive/a vampire for whatever reason#But assuming she's dead who would have a motive#touma seems unlikely I feel like he would have taunted mahiru with that back when he mentioned killing several people#I forgot how old mahiru was when akira died but mikuni was probably still too young and also he used to hate humans getting killed#No idea why he's working with tsubaki to do a ritual that will kill all of tokyo now#Tsubaki maybe? He might know about what is so special about mahiru. In that case killing the mother (who also knew what's special about him#Would make some sense. She can't tell mahiru or anyone else about it if she's dead.#But killing her in a way that might have killed mahiru as well...assuming whatever is special about mahiru is needed for the ritual#Risky#But maybe mahiru's memories were faked like misono's were with the night kiriko died and mahiru wasn't actually there when akira got killed#Trying to kill tooru after he had to reveal his ties to c3 before he could explain to mahiru what's special about him#Would also fit with tsubaki#tsubaki would also have a motive not to taunt mahiru with it so nobody tries to look into it and finds out what killing her would achieve#If mahiru is needed for the ritual it's probably even better that mahiru and kuro found a way to get rid of the distance limit#because the enemies probably planned with the distance limit in mind meaning mahiru not needing to be there when kuro tries to stop tsubaki#Might be unexpected to them and throw a wrench in their plans
