My exam is at 16:30. My cheat sheet is incomplete. My head hurts and I don’t know if I have to willpower to finish it. I feel kind of bad for writing so much cause it makes me feel like I didn’t even bother to remember anything. But at the same time I don’t want to be overconfident and end up forgetting stuff I studied and they’re not on the sheet. Which leads to me wanting to write every single thing down and I just keep going and going. Sometimes I wish professors would just limit us to formulas so I can relax😭.
#I’m so tired omg#and I barely studied yesterday cause my brain just couldn’t#I woke up super early to push through and I got a lot done but I think my brain is tapping out again#I’m just one person#damn#studyblr

Diasomnia "Baby Girl"
I totally fumbled with Sebek's part, and if I had shame, I wouldn't post it. So it's a good thing I simply don't care.
Disclaimer: All characters in this series is aged up. For more information about my version of this world and the type of reader you can expect, please do a quick read of THIS post.
Diasomnia
Calling Them “Baby Girl”
Malleus Draconia
“Are you ready to head out?” Malleus asked as you closed the gates to Ramshackle. You turned to him with a smile, ready to enjoy your evening stroll under the moonlight. Not to mention you wanted to try something on the large dragon fae. “Sure am; let’s go, baby girl. I wanna see those raven Gargoyles you were telling me about yesterday.” You said, hooking your arm around his own. Malleus paused for a moment as he looked down at you. “A peculiar nickname; you know I’m not a baby nor a girl, correct?” He asked, and you chuckled. “Doesn’t stop you from being my baby girl.” You winked at him. He had a confused smile on his face as he leaned down and gave you a quick kiss. “If that’s the case, then what shall I call you?” he said as he pondered over nicknames he had heard from Lilia, “Daddy, perhaps?” queue your brain malfunctioning as Malleus couldn’t help but chuckle.
Lilia Vanrouge
“Ah, you’re awake.” Lilia was the first thing you saw when you opened your eyes. You were sure he wasn’t in your bedroom when you went to bed, but then again, this was hardly an uncommon thing for Lilia. You felt a distinct lack of presence in your bed, and you knew Grim had probably gotten up and was downstairs scouring for some food, or else he’d no doubt be kicking up a fuss. “Mornin’ baby girl.” You managed to murmur in your sleep-riddled voice. Lilia’s eyes widened at your nickname before he busted out laughing. He clutched his stomach from how hard he was wheezing, and you could barely process what you had said to make him go into a giggling fit. When it clicked, your face went a bit red, clearly having not meant to call him that. “My, in all my years, this is the first time someone’s called me that,” Lilia said, wiping a tear from his eye. He looked over at your blushing form as he sat next to you, locking you in the bed with his arms and leaning in, “Can’t say I dislike it, though. Hope to hear you calling me that again later.” Lilia leaned down and gave you a quick kiss before teleporting away, leaving you touching your lips and wondering what just happened.
Sebek Zigvolt
It was lunchtime at the beautiful NRC, and you couldn’t be happier as you watched Sebek walking in. Malleus had other things to attend to and wouldn’t be able to make it to lunch, which meant you could drag Sebek to your table. You waved over at him and, without thinking, said, “Over here, baby girl.” You paused as soon as the words left your mouth. Sebek seemed confused as he approached the table, “What does this ‘baby girl’ mean, and why are you calling me that?!” His voice boomed in the cafeteria, and you felt like crawling into a hole. Ace and Deuce wouldn’t help the laughter coming from their mouths as you scrambled for words to say. “It’s, uh, nothing. It’s nothing, Sebek. Please drop it?” You groaned, feeling mortified as you heard snickering from Diasomnia’s normal table. You could see Lilia finding it amusing if the tears in his eyes from laughter were anything to go off of. “If you say so,” Sebek said, his voice going back to normal as he sat down. He just looked on, confused as to why your friends were laughing, and you looked super flustered. He vowed to find out the cause later on.
Silver
Silver was fast asleep on your lap after having helped you study for the past three hours. Your fingers carded through his soft white locks as you hummed, thinking about how beautiful he is. “Baby girl, you look so pretty when sleeping.” You muttered to yourself. You could see Silver’s face scrunching up as he turned a bit in your lap, his face facing your stomach as his arms came around your waist. He nuzzled closer to you, and you swore you were ascending. “So cute.” You cooed as you tried looking at his face. He was absolutely passed out in the small library, and you knew it was best to let him sleep it out. “You know, you should tell him that when he’s awake,” Lilia said, covering your mouth before you could scream from being surprised. You paused as you turned to the smaller man and frowned. “I’m just saying, I bet he’d look adorable, blushing from your nicknames.” He chuckled as he began leaving. You wondered how Lilia even got there but opted to not be bothered. You sighed…you had to agree he’d look even prettier with a soft blush on his cheeks. You’d call him that later for sure.

The Argument || Peter Parker
pairing: peter parker x avenger!reader
summary: you and peter get in a fight and the other avengers can’t help but overhear
a/n: i have like four things in my drafts right now that i can’t seem to finish, but i had a sudden burst of inspiration to write this instead of studying so here we are! hope you enjoy! (reader’s super power is similar to wanda’s in a way except with gold rather than red)
word count: 2.2k
warnings: lots of swearing, loud arguing, angst with happy ending
masterlist || request
You and your boyfriend Peter stood, glaring at each other from opposite corners of your bedroom. Your hands were balled into fists at your sides as you looked at him from across the room with anger mixed hurt written all over your face.
“Are you serious right now, Peter?” You asked him, raising your voice with each sentence. “Are you dead serious right now? You know I’m a fucking Avenger right? I’m sorry if me being around other guys makes you uncomfortable but it’s kind of part of my job.”
Peter huffed, rolling his eyes and threw his hands up in the air. “So what? This is my fault now?” He gestured towards himself, raising his voice at you.
“You’re the one who’s pissed at me because I’m nice to other guys.” You scoffed. “It’s fine, Peter. Next time a guy needs saving I’ll be sure to tell him that Spider-Man doesn’t trust his girlfriend so he’ll have to figure it out himself.”
At the words that just came out of your mouth, Peter laughed out loud. It wasn’t the sweet laugh you always loved hearing in the mornings or the one where he would find something so hilarious that he would be out of breath, but one that just screamed that he could not believe what you had just said.
“Me?” He shouted. “You’re the one who always gets mad at me for ‘getting too cozy with girls’. I’m doing my job! You see one photo of me saving a girl- from a fire might I add- and you don’t talk to me for two days because you were jealous. What do you want me to do?”
Peter bringing up this situation again just made you fume even more and he knew that. Despite the fact that you and Peter rarely fought, this instance had been mentioned in several arguments between the two of you, but you always held your ground.
You were now the one throwing your hands up in the air, beginning to pace across the room. “Oh! This fucking conversation again!” You shouted at him. “How many times do we have to go over this? When are you going to get it? She kissed you!”
You still remember every part of the footage from that day and the image had burned itself into your brain. It was a solo day for Spider-Man so you hadn’t found out until you had seen the news footage of your boyfriend swinging the girl to safety with her arms wrapped tightly around him and her head buried in the crook of his neck. Peter’s arm was wrapped securely around her waist as he assured her that everything was going to be okay. As soon as he stopped swinging, however, and landed her safely on the ground, she had placed her hands on either side of Peter’s masked face and pulled him into a kiss. Although he quickly scrambled out of it, you couldn’t help but feel sick seeing the image.
“I was wearing my mask, Y/n!” He shouted back, tugging on his hair in frustration. “It’s not like I went in to kiss her. She kissed me! I didn’t do anything!”
At his words, you stopped pacing and stomped across the room, stopping in front of your boyfriend. “You’re right, you didn’t do anything.” You spat. “She kissed you and yeah that’s fucked up, but you know what’s more fucked up? That you didn’t tell me! You knew some girl had kissed you and you just hoped I would never find out. Do you know what it was like to find out from a fucking news broadcast? Fuck, Peter! You lied to me about it!”
Peter took a deep breath, looking anywhere besides your face. “I’m not doing this.” He told you finally, shoving past you to reach the door and stomping out of your room.
Peter aggressively threw open your door and you yelled out of frustration before following him out the room. Your hands were once again balled into fists at your sides as you watched Peter stomp out of your bedroom and down the hallway leading up to the common room, all the while yelling at him to stop.
“Peter!” You shouted.
“I’m not talking to you like this!” He yelled back, his back still facing towards you. “When you calm down and admit that you’re wrong-“
He knew what he was doing and he knew it was just pissing you off to a new extreme. So much so, you could feel the golden glow of your magic radiating off your hands that were balled into fists at your sides.
When Peter continued walking with his back turned towards you, refusing to speak to you further, you flicked your wrist causing the magical glow to spread out from your hand to your boyfriend, forcing him to turn around and face you, stopping him in his spot.
“Don’t walk away while I’m talking to you.” You told him, the anger radiating from your body in the from of the golden glow of your magic surrounding you.
“Did you just use magic on me?” Peter asked in a mix of shock, disgust and anger.
What the two of you didn’t realize in the midst of your fuming rage at each other was that the two of you had stopped in front of the common room. What you also hadn’t noticed was that the room was occupied by some of your... colleagues.
“Did she-“ Sam began.
“She did.” Nat finished.
Peter and you continued to argue back and forth about the audacity of the other, oblivious to the others hearing every word and watching the two of you throw harsh words at each other. It was an endless argument concerning who had the right to be angry and the unanswerable question of who was really at fault. During which the rest of the group of revelers in the common room watched and listened.
“Who wants the bet this is about that girl that kissed underoos?” Tony asked.
“That? That was so long ago though.” Steve replied.
“A girl never forgets.” Nat finished, kicking back in her seat. “How would you feel if you saw someone kissing your girlfriend.” She asked Steve.
“Never had one.” Steve shrugged.
An awkward silence filled the room for a brief moment before Sam began again.
“Steve’s right.” He said. “What about yesterday when Y/n saved that guy from getting his car thrown by that giant android and it turned out to be her ex-boyfriend?”
The group collectively nodded their heads, remembering the events of yesterday and that night when Peter had become more awkward than usual after you confessed the situation to him.
You had never seen Peter so jealous before. The two of you met after you and Peter had graduated high school and with your busy schedules you were barely finding time to hang out with your friends, never mind meet new guys. Peter and your’s relationship was usually one of romantic bliss. Despite the chaos and danger occurring in each of your lives, there was barely an argument between the two of you besides the occasional mention of that one time.
You told Peter later that night about how you recognized the guy you saved as your ex-boyfriend from high school. You didn’t expect much of a reaction considering you had dated the guy so long ago and you were wearing your mask that covered the upper half of your face to maintain your secret identity. It wasn’t even as though he could recognize you- you were just doing your job. You told Peter out of wanting to be honest with him, not because you thought it mattered- because it didn't. Peter upon your confession, however, was standoffish the remainder of the night seeming to be lost in his own head.
You didn’t give it much thought and decided to give him his own space until this morning when he confronted you about it, leading to the heated argument the two of you were in right now.
“Both of you are right.” Wanda finally spoke up.
Everyone in the room then turned their heads to face her.
“Did you... did you read their minds?”
“No.” She told them. “These walls aren’t very thick.”
“Should we stop them?” Steve asked.
To that, both you and Peter shouted “No!”
That was the moment though where you both suddenly realized that there was a whole room of people watching as you and Peter argued. Both of you stopped arguing suddenly and turned to face the room full of your colleagues.
“Did you... um... hear all of that?” Peter asked, cooling off from the heated argument you two shared seconds before as he fiddled with his fingers, unable to meet their eyes.
“Do you even know how loud you two were being?” Tony asked, standing up from his seat. “It’s impossible not to hear. Both of you have to drop it-”
“But Mr. Stark-” Peter began.
“Nope.” Tony cut him off. “No ‘buts’. Are you two even listening to yourselves?”
“Tony-” Steve started, attempting to intervene and have Tony drop the situation.
“Listen Rogers, I know you’ve been waiting decades for a first date, but someone has to play couples counselor here.” He told him matter-of-factly turning back to face the two of you. “You.” He pointed at you first. “That kid would never ‘cheat’ on you okay? He worships the ground you walk on so drop it. I’m sick and tired of hearing this frankly idiotic conversation every other week.”
At his words, you felt your fists unclench at your sides and your muscles relax. You knew he was right. As hurt as you were, you knew Peter would never do anything to hurt you on purpose. You knew he loved you just as much as- if not more than- you loved him.
Just as you were about to open your mouth, Tony began again- this time pointing at Peter.
“And you.” He began. Although you were looking at Tony, you could see your boyfriend stiffen in the corner of your eye. “What did you want her to do? Let that guy die because he... what? Took her on a few dates back in high school? You two have been to space together for god’s sakes. She was just doing her job and you know that.”
The two of you stood in front of Tony Stark himself now, knowing he was right, but not knowing what to say. You turned to look at Peter, seeing his shoulders slouched and his cheeks red likely from both the attention and embarrassment.
“You two can apologize now.” Tony said finally, striding back to the armchair he was sitting in prior to the lecture he gave the two of you and seating himself in it.
You and Peter turned to each other, visibly relaxing as you stared at each other. Despite the flaws the both of you had, you each cared for the other more than anyone else.
You wrapped your arms around yourself, being the first to apologize. “I’m sorry, Pete.” You apologized to him in almost a whisper. “I guess I was just hurt that you thought I could look at anyone else the way that I look at you.”
Peter sighed and you could see the sadness in his eyes that he felt from hurting you. You knew he never meant to hurt you and he was just hurt the same way you were.
“No... I’m sorry, Y/n.” He stepped forward to meet you, placing his hands gently on your arms that were wrapped around yourself. “It just sucked to think of you with some other guy.”
At his apology, you uncrossed your arms, instead reaching out for Peter’s hands. Squeezing his hands in yours you told him, “Peter, he doesn’t matter to me anymore. I love you.”
“Not just that, Y/n.” Although your words meant a lot to him, Peter shook his head. “I don’t know... sometimes I just think that you might want something more... I don’t know... normal. I can’t give you that normal, peaceful stuff so I guess I just get worried. I shouldn’t have taken it out on you though.”
Now it was your turn to shake your head as you gazed at your boyfriend. “Pete, you know I could never do normal” You chuckled. “I just got so angry at you that I had magic radiating off of me. Sure, normal would be easier, but I would choose crazy every day as long as I get to be with you.”
Finally you felt the last of the argument and rage that came with it disappear as a feeling of peace and calm washed over the two of you. You let go of Peter’s hands only to wrap them around his neck while his made their away around your torso.
“Gross.” Nat mumbled from her seat.
“I think I actually preferred when they were arguing.” Tony said in disgust.
You and Peter smiled at each other, able to hear the conversation between the others going on in the common room. You laughed as you looked into his eyes, slowly pulling your boyfriend into a kiss.
You and your boyfriend laughed into the kiss as you heard the group erupt into groans of disgust and annoyance. Although you and Peter didn’t have the perfect relationship and each of you had your flaws, at the end of the day you knew you would choose each other every time.
“Okay... Now do we stop them?”

-----------------------------------------------
You fumbled with your hair as you tried to rip your fingers through the still damp strands to assemble it back into a semi-presentable pony tail as the door slid open to your father’s office. You really did wish that you had been able to go upstairs and shower. Or at least change your clothes from the workout gear you currently felt sticking to your skin from the cooling sweat. As a breeze drifted from the vent as the air kicked on, you shivered violently, shaking your head and shooting a hateful stare in Yoongi’s direction as you stepped into the office. Appearances were everything in your family. They were the first level of protection to ensure threats stayed at a minimum. A show of strength and cohesiveness discouraged any hair-brained ideas from a weaker or less organized opposition.
Your father raised a dark, thick brow, turning from the man was speaking quietly to, his expression unreadable as you inclined your head slightly in greeting. “You asked to see me?” you said quietly, keeping your eyes downcast. Since Yoongi had mentioned your father was summoning you, you knew it couldn’t be anything positive. This soon after your arrival? Nothing good would come of this. You had just grabbed onto the distraction of Yoongi until you both stood in the office, feeling stripped bare, awaiting whatever admonishment was about to be delivered.
“You couldn’t make it a full forty-eight hours without causing me a migraine,” your father said sharply and you kept your eyes trained on the floor, as you replayed yesterday in your mind.
“Father, I don’t know what you-”
“Y/N, you weren’t even back a day and you spent how much?” he said, aggravation lacing his tone. “I had to call in Kim to look at your accounts immediately. You’re a fucking hassle.” He huffed and your eyes finally lifted to the stranger that stood next to your father, noting that he stepped away from your father and bowed quickly.
“Nice to meet you, miss. I’m Kim Namjoon. I’ve been handling your accounts and will continue to do so.” You felt your lips part in a soft ‘oh’ as you studied the broad planes of his face, full lips and intense eyes. You felt like he was picking you apart in that moment as you took your time to absorb his ash blond hair in a relaxed, but carefully crafted style. His skin tone was golden; a contrast to Yoongi’s milk-like skin. He glowed, and you couldn’t tell if it from his melanin or the fact that he was radiating intelligence.
“N-Nice to meet you too,” you stammered and managed to close your mouth as he pushed up the rolled sleeves of his white button-down shirt. You swallowed hard and tried to claw through the mental fog that had overcome you. With the teasing from both Jungkook and Yoongi, being presented with another god-like man was the last thing you needed. “I will admit I’m a little confused; my spending was never a problem when I was away? I mean, it’s not like I bought a car.”
Your father barked a laugh and threw up his hands. “You have no grasp on what I do to make this money that you just piss away Y/N! And you COULD have bought a car with the amount you spent yesterday! Like I said: a god damn burden!” he hissed and you flushed slightly, taking a step back unconsciously as you watched his neck flush. Yoongi hadn’t said a word, but you knew you could still sense his dark presence in the corner of the room, not looking at him to notice his eyes narrowed slightly as the scene unfolded.
“Y/N, I’ve had an idea. You’re a daughter. I can’t do much with you. Your brother who I could actually have used is dead. Your mother-” He stopped as he watched your eyes bulge and he shook his head. “I can’t have more children. I’d consider it disrespectful to her memory,” he mused, a hand running along his chin and you couldn’t help the scoff that escaped you, but your jaw snapped shut audibly as your teeth clacked together after the noise passed your lips.
Your father’s eyes flared to life in challenge and he glanced at Namjoon, lip curling. “Did you calculate her estimated cost of living and monthly expenditures? Do you have solid numbers?” he said shortly and Namjoon just nodded, eyes flicking between the family members silently. “And did you adjust for a profit at the margin we discussed?”
“Yes sir,” came the deep steady voice, Namjoon’s eyes traveling your figure, his gaze not heavy with lust or desire, but full of curiosity. “The monthly amount that you should request for that profit is in the proposal if you would like to review it.” He finished and cleared his throat. “I can return if you want me to look over the contract,” he said softly, clearing fishing for a dismissal and your father granted it, offering his hand and you felt your mouth tighten in confusion.
“What contract?”
Namjoon grabbed a briefcase and inclined his head to you stiffly in farewell before his long legs carried him out the doorway. Your father’s gaze didn’t leave your eyes as he spoke. “Yoongi, see him out.” Yoongi nodded and started after the tall man in silence, not sparing you a second glance on his way out.
“I asked you what contract?” you said softly, struggling to keep your voice even as your father stepped closer to you.
“Well, you went out. Spent a lot of money that you’ve done nothing to earn, and caught someone’s eye in the process. Someone worth a lot of money and who would be an asset to have closer to the family at this point in his career.” Your father clasped his hands behind his back as he continued to close the distance between you, each step he made, you felt your heart plummet further.
“Father… what exactly are you implying?”
“I’m not implying anything, Y/N. I’m telling you. Someone’s made a bid for your hand, and it’s the only thing you’ll be good for at this point. The shopping sprees, your lifestyle. I can maintain them, but if someone else is willing to do so, and the marriage benefits me in my business, I’d be stupid not to pursue it. Do you think I’m stupid, Y/N?” he said, voice getting dangerously quiet as he reached out to tuck a piece of hair that had escaped the rapidly put-up ponytail behind your ear.
“You can’t sell me off like fucking cattle!-” you said, flinching away from his touch, and his large, calloused hand shot out to grab your chin tightly. He forced your face back towards his as you tried to jerk away, squeezing hard enough to make your eyes begin to water. Your heart thudded out a dangerous irregular rhythm as you breathed hard through your nose.
“I can’t? Y/N, you seem to be under the delusion that you are free from the responsibilities that come with being in this family. I suppose that may be my fault. I was too soft on you, pitied the losses I caused you to have. I always had your brother anyway; there was no harm in indulging you. But now, you’re the only one with my blood in your veins. You’re home to do a service for this family. Everyone else has given their lives in some way. Did you think you were special?” His words were measured and cold as he studied you, grip not loosening on your face. You would be bruised tomorrow as you felt the throb set in from the pressure he was applying.
“You may order me to do it, but I don’t have to go along with this,” you hissed, barely able to open your jaw, but clenching your teeth to get your words out, rage licking up and down your body. He had taken your entire life as a child, as an adolescent. Did he really think giving you a few years of freedom put you back in his debt so far that you owed him the rest of your life?!
No sooner than the words were out of your mouth you heard the sharp crack, and felt yourself stumbling backwards into the wall. You blinked quickly as you registered the pain in your head, immediately starting to pound as the metallic taste of blood filled your mouth. You barely had time to regain a semblance of your bearings before your father was upon you again, face chillingly blank as his ringed fingers gripped the base of your ponytail, ripping your head back at an awkward angle, a scream breaching your bloody lips. The noise was cut short by another blow, snapping your head to the side before he jerked your face back to center.
“Who do you think you are, you little bitch?” he said with a lilt to his tone as you choked out a sob, unable to keep it from escaping your lips. “You really thought you weren’t going to do shit to replace that money you spent?” When he finished speaking he gave your head a violent shake, as if to scramble your thoughts further. It was completely unnecessary, as your head felt as if it was splitting with the pain he had rocked through you with his blows and harsh grip. You felt the start of a purely hysterical giggle break through, spitting out the fresh rush of blood that ran in your mouth due to the cuts in your cheek from your teeth. You noticed a piece of the skin from inside your mouth flapping loosely that made you nauseated if you dwelled on it.
The laugh was probably the worst response you could have had.
You heard a soft hiss, and your father stepped into your space further, hands darting from your head to wrap themselves around your throat and squeezing. As your hands scrambled to scratch at his hand, his arm, his face, anything, you wished you were surprised at this. You wished you were hurt because you were shocked, but you weren’t. There was blood in the water and he was a shark. He built his life this way.
“You don’t have to go along with this…” he said softly, voice void of emotion, “but you also don’t have to keep living here either. How long will you make it without this family? You’d never make it out of the city.” He mused and continued to squeeze, your vision starting to spot as you tried to draw in any bit of air within the hold he had, the choking heaves under the weight of him making the blood that had pooled in your mouth from his blows spill over your chin grotesquely as it began to stream onto his hand. “So will you behave for once in your fucking life?”
You were hyper aware of the tears streaming down your face as you managed the smallest of nods. You supposed he was right; you had never imagined you would be used in the family in any way. Your entire life had been lonely, and even though you hated it, you had resigned yourself to it. His hands unwrapped themselves from your neck, letting you inhale a burning gasp of air as you slid down the wall, and onto the floor. You coughed and rocked forward onto all fours as the shaking of your body didn’t allow for much more than consciousness.
Your father pulled a handkerchief out of his pocket and wiped the crimson of your blood off his hand before tossing it to you on the floor. You could barely recognize the quick but unhurried footsteps coming back down the hallway to the office before they stopped short.
“Yoongi, take her upstairs.”
==
The flush from hustling back to his boss’s office drained from Yoongi’s face as his eyes widened at your figure hunched forward onto your elbows on the floor. He watched you hack as your body tried to clear your airway. Yoongi stayed silent as he reached down, crouching next to you and attempting to offer you a hand so you could stand on your own, for which you were thankful. You felt the physical pain, but no emotions as your mind sluggishly screamed at you to just accept his hand and stand. You needed to walk out of here on your own. You knew you wouldn’t make it all the way to your room after the assault, but you didn’t need to. Just to the elevator.
You reached out your hand, shaking hard, as you clasped at his large palm and hoisted yourself up, letting him pull lightly as he stood with you, noting that he was still silent. You tried to ignore how your vision swam before you, willing your knees not to buckle. You couldn’t pinpoint if the unsteadiness was from the blows to your face, the lack of oxygen, or the tears that had thankfully stopped streaming down your face but still filled your eyes.
Yoongi seemed to read your mind, shifting his grip from your hand to your upper arm, nestling in your underarm and gently steered you to the door, but let you support most of your weight on the way out. You walked in silence as he didn’t rush you down the hallway, both of your eyes trained on the lift door as he typed in the code. As you waited for the door to open you felt your shaking legs betray you and start to bend. You glanced away from him, the movement of your eyes causing a piercing pain to shoot through your head. “Please,” was all you rasped wetly as you put more weight and started to sink, but the pressure holding you up immediately doubled, Yoongi’s support forcing you upright, even if it made your shoulder raise. It would be almost imperceptible from your father’s office if he was still looking in your direction, but you doubted he would. He had already received your submission; he didn’t need you for anything else.
Yoongi didn’t seem to want to take the chance that he was still watching, stepping into the elevator and continuing to only hold you in one place. His grip was still disguised as if he was walking you out in the same way he may escort an associate who was no longer welcome - in such a manner that would deter any further escalation. No one would be able to tell he was the only thing keeping you upright.
As the door slid shut to the elevator the facade crumbled, you lurching forward and gasping out a sob of pain, tilting your head down to let the blood that had been collecting in your mouth pour out onto the floor. You forgot how much mouth wounds bled. Yoongi was not bothered with the grotesque display as he swiftly adjusted his grip to wrap around your shoulders, his other arm sweeping at your feet as he lifted you with apparent ease. You shut your eyes as the tears began to flow once more, unable to restrain the moans and whimpers of pain that escaped between gasps as you cried. He still hadn’t said a word, even as you turned your face into his suit jacket, inhaling jaggedly as you tried to focus on the scent permeating from him, trying to place it through your snot-filled nose. The only thing you could recognize was the warm, woodsy scent of patchouli as you reached a shaking hand up to hold onto his jacket tightly. You knew he wouldn’t drop you, but it grounded you all the same.
You tried to slow your breathing, but failed as the elevator door opened and Yoongi strode quickly to your bedroom door, bending at the knees and somehow using his crook of his elbow and his body to turn the door knob, the only change in your positioning being that you tilted slightly as he spun it. He kicked the door with his foot gently as he stepped in, by-passing your bed as he carried you into your bathroom, carefully getting on his knees as he lowered you into your large bathtub as he placed you there. You continued to breath quickly, your gasps becoming sharper as your gentle shaking soon became uncontrollable. You released his jacket as he stood and you pulled your knees to your chest, shutting your eyes finally as you heard the tap briefly run before a cool rag brushed your chin, eyes flying open as you flinched away.
“Shh, I need to see your face. I have to get the blood off,” Yoongi whispered, and you finally looked at him, noting his face was still paler than normal. “Princess, I need you to take a slow, deep breath okay? Can you do that? Your lips are turning blue; you’re hyperventilating. You’re safe,” he murmured, brows pinching together in a pained expression you had never seen on his face as you tried to nod, attempting to take a long breath in but ended up gulping in air multiple times on the way, the blurring of your vision worsening as Yoongi grimaced, your breathing speeding up again, your shoulders shrugging with the effort to take in air. The last thing you heard was Yoongi’s tense exclamation of “Shit!” before you blacked out.
==
When you awoke, you were under the covers of your large bed. You sat up quickly before groaning from the ache in your head, then realizing that opening your mouth made you want to scream from pain. Between the squeeze on your jaw and the cuts inside your mouth, it was safe to say you would be saying very little for a while. You glanced towards the window, noting it was inky black outside.
“How long has he hit you?” came a cool voice from beside your bedside and you turned to face the source, seeing a figure standing beside the small table, casting a shadow with the aid of a lamp. Had he even left? Yoongi had shed his stained suit jacket, but still wore the white shirt and same suit pants. You only knew it was the same shirt due to the blood stain from where your mouth must have painted him. Instead of attempting to speak, you shrugged in an attempt to get his gaze off of you. It was piercing and unnerving. You felt as if this was the beginning of an interrogation, and you didn’t fail to notice the color had still not returned to his normally pale face. Now that your mind was a bit clearer you were able to recognize why it registered so deeply with you. He was the embodiment of white with fury. “How. Long?” he said again with such harshness you swallowed hard, ignoring the fire that licked down your throat as you did so.
“That’s a joke right? He’s always been like that. I just normally am better at avoiding it,” you forced out; your words were almost incoherent as you tried to move your jaw as little as possible as you spoke. That was bearable. Good. Not that you had expected it to be, but at least your jaw wasn’t broken; that would have been a pain in the ass. “What time is it?”
“It’s three am,” Yoongi hissed as his eyes glimmered in the near darkness, pushing off the wall and grabbing a glass of water off the table and sweeping a few pills into his hand. “Take these.” You took his offering and a small sip of the water before carefully throwing the pills to the back of your throat and washing them down, sighing softly. “They’re pain pills. They’ll help and you’ll be able to go back to sleep in a bit.”
You didn’t answer but pulled back the cover of your bed and slid out, noting that your bloody shirt had been changed but you still had on your sports bra and leggings. And your ponytail had been taken down, which was probably a good thing since your scalp was still aching from the hold your father had you in.
“Y/N… don’t.” Came Yoongi’s voice, still unemotional but a bit gentler than his earlier tone. You didn’t turn back to him but stopped your path to your vanity, obviously trying to look at your reflection in the mirror to assess the damage.
“Is it that bad?” you grumbled, turning to him and you watched him shrug.
“It’s not good. Don’t worry about it tonight. No bones are broken from what I can tell. I wiped you down the best I could. Just change once I leave and get back into bed.”
You let out a deep breath but finally stepped towards your closet instead to grab an oversized t-shirt. You could work the bra off under it and slip your pants off once you had it on. “Why did you even stay?” you said softly as you set to work, your muscles aching as you attempted to change modestly. You don’t know why it even mattered, but in this moment it did.
“I needed to know if he had done this before. I needed to know if this was the first time. When we were kids, you weren’t around all the time. Sometimes, I’d go months without seeing you. I didn’t know if this was a part of it,” he spat out, visibly tensing as he took a loud steadying breath.
You shrugged as you pulled off your leggings, successful in stripping your bra off under the shirt, and padded back to your bed. “There were a few reasons he kept me separated from everyone. It wasn’t all because he thought I was too precious to see any of this.” You climbed back into bed and tried to settle back into the plushness. Yoongi took a step closer to you, his mouth slightly open as he watched you try to get comfortable, seemingly unable to stop himself.
“Y/N…” he said softly and reached a hand towards you and you stiffened, eyes narrowing, and he took note, dropping his hand slowly.
“Yoongi, I never asked for your fucking pity.”
“I know, and it makes me want to help you even more.”
You blinked and tried to register what he was implying. “Help me?” you repeated, shaking your head as you felt the same hysterical laugh bubble up that had made your assault that much worse in your father’s office. “No one can help me!” You laughed, eyes widening as the smile twisted your features. “This is my life, this is what I was born into. This is what all those shiny things cost, Yoongi! I always knew it but I forgot.” You watched as the pained expression from earlier slid back over his features, and you raised your eyebrows in response. “I appreciate it, but unless you’re willing to put a bullet in my fucking head there’s no saving anything.”
“Who says it has to be your head, Princess?” he said gently and you swear you felt the world stop.
“Don’t say shit like that Min,” you hissed, baring your teeth and shaking your head. “Even if we don’t always get along, I don’t want you dead too.”
“Whatever you say Princess,” he said, a smile tugging at his lips as he cocked his head to the side. “Are you alright to sleep? You don’t feel like you’re going to vomit?” he asked seriously, watching as you shook your head.
“I don’t have a concussion,” you grumbled but as you watched him smirk and go to grab his jacket you felt your heart speed up. “Yoongi- w-wait.” He immediately stopped, as if he was anticipating your words. “Can you stay here the rest of the night? I know he won’t do anything but I-”
“Let me go change my clothes. Is that okay Princess?”
“Yeah… I just don’t want to be-”
“It’s fine Y/N. I’ll be right back.” You stayed sitting up, watching him as he dismissed your attempts at explanations and justification as he walked out.
You sighed, leaning against the leather headboard and let your breathing even out, even as your heart still raced. The pain began to slowly ebb as the medication took effect; what had you even taken? It had to be something strong as a comfortable fog began to cloud your thoughts.
You didn’t know why you felt the need to have him here. Did you even need to explain? He was technically your bodyguard. You had known each other most of your lives. You had just suffered through an assault; staying with you was reasonable. Even if the assailant wasn’t unknown, nor were the motives. At the end of the day, Yoongi’s presence made breathing a bit easier. His presence made you feel safe.
The door opened again and you sucked in a breath as Yoongi re-entered your bedroom, one hand carrying his gun and holster, the other a hanger with a clean pressed suit. “I’ll wake up before you,” was all he said in response to your surprised expression as he studied you. He mistook the shock on your face as being accredited to the suit. He was an idiot if he thought you cared about the fact he would dress here. You were too busy drinking in the sight of his lean figure in low-slung grey sweatpants. You tried to rip your gaze back to his face but you got caught on the black ribbed tank top and the swirling black tattoos covering his shoulder and chest before disappearing under the material.
“I didn’t know you had tattoos,” you choked out, feeling your face flush and mentally slapping yourself. He may look like sex on legs, but you looked like you just had the shit beat out of you. Which to be fair to yourself, you actually just had the shit beat out of you.
“Oh, I forgot,” he said, a small smirk tilting his lip up but the smile didn’t reach his eyes. He draped his suit over the chair to your vanity and carried his gun with him towards the plush armchair in the corner of the room.
“The bed is big enough Min. I won’t touch you,” you said breathlessly, trying to force away the blush that was deepening across your face. He seemed to freeze and take a few steadying breaths.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea Princess.” His voice was controlled but quiet.
“Please Yoongi…” you said just as quietly. “It’s just for tonight. I won’t feel safe if you’re all the way over there.”
It was definitely an over exaggeration. You hadn’t really expected him to even agree to stay in your room with you. The chair was the reasonable option. You knew you were pushing it.
“Princess, I-” He breathed, the airiness of his tone making your belly somersault and it gave you a tiny shiver.
“Yoongi, please. I need you next to me. Just tonight.” You shouldn’t be so worried about getting this man into bed with you, but now that he was here in front of you and it was so close to happening, you felt you might cry if he denied you.
You watched his back muscles rippled as he tensed and tried to relax. He turned wordlessly and walked to the opposite side of the bed, setting his holster down and climbing into the king-sized bed with you. “Go to sleep Princess.”
The drugs had to be prescriptions, not that you really expected a member of an organized crime family to just take a regular aspirin when they were in pain. “Is the oxy working yet? It should start soon if it hasn’t.” You hummed your assent as you squirmed down into the bed and tried to keep the smile from your face as you reached over and turned out the lamp. You took a deep breath and shut your eyes, savoring the heat that quickly built from having two bodies under the covers of your bed, ignoring the slightly annoyed sigh from the other side of the bed.
“Be quiet Min, I’m trying to rest,” you said softly and a soft dry chuckle cut through the silence as you let sleep take you.
==
Yoongi’s POV
Yoongi listened to the soft sounds of your breathing as they lengthened and deepened, the pain pills having done their job perfectly. If only he could have done his job in such a manner. He had been given a job: to keep you safe, and he took it seriously. Even if the one assigning his work was an abusive piece of shit. Yoongi let out a sigh, glancing over at your figure in the dark to make sure his huff hadn’t disturbed your slumber. It didn’t. You were still laying there, eyes closed and unaware, your face turned towards him to afford him a view of what exactly your father had done in his absence.
He felt his teeth grind against each other as even in the dark, he could make out the near black bruises covering your neck in the clear shape of hands, a bloom crossing your smooth cheek as well. Even your chin and jaw were dark from bruising; evidence that your father had held your face to force submission. It had worked. He opened his mouth and stretched his own jaw to try and stop himself from continuing to grind his molars down to nothing in rage. He didn’t know if he would ever be able to forget how you looked and how he felt when he entered the office, watching the blood drip onto the floor. How he wanted nothing more than to simply pull out his gun and lodge a bullet into your father’s knee before proceeding to swing the butt of his gun down onto him until he shattered every bone in the pig’s disgusting face.
Until he begged him to stop. Until he begged his daughter to tell Yoongi to stop.
The daydream made Yoongi smile a full gummy smile and chuckle for the first time today. He would stop when you told him to. If you told him to. Now that he knew your father had put his hands on you before this, he wondered if you would just let him continue until his mania at seeing what had been done to you was sated. He knew it wouldn’t be until he heard your father’s death rattle, knowing it had been at his own hands.
You stirred slightly to readjust in your sleep, drawing his attention back to the present as you moved closer to him in the bed and he sucked in a breath. Even beaten and bruised you affected him. Even carrying you in that elevator down the hall as you clutched onto him. He had been spiraling down into violence but as soon as you grabbed his jacket, he knew you wouldn’t withstand even him raising his voice to anyone without shattering. You were normally so fierce and seeing you broken made him want to tear apart this entire society you both lived in, even if it was all either of you had ever known.
It was then he had decided he would be what you were asking of him with your sobs and how you clutched onto him; he would be as gentle as could be and give you whatever you needed tonight. Tomorrow he would begin the undertaking of dismantling your father piece by fucking piece.
He had watched over you after you passed out; you had woken up briefly for him to get you to take pain medicine once before you actually were able to speak to him. Before you asked him to stay with you. He wanted to pretend it didn’t make his icy heart crack, the way you tried to explain and justify his presence. He would never ask you to in this kind of situation. When Yoongi returned to his room, he attempted to steel himself for a night of sitting in that uncomfortable chair, and a sleepless day tomorrow. He had gone more than twenty-four hours without sleep before.
But when your eyes, even if they had started to become glossy and dilated from the drugs, began to run over him, he had to try and think of every unsexy thing he could fathom. You had just been fucking violated and just with one look he felt the blood travel away from his brain and pool below his waist. Why did he think he would be able to wear sweatpants while staying with you? You destroyed every semblance of self control he had. He still hadn’t forgotten your teasing in the elevator prior to this shit show.
Then your soft drowsy voice had called out to him just as he had regained his mental fortitude and continued to the chair. You would be the fucking death of him and he didn’t think he would really mind. Now, as he laid here in bed with you trying to ignore the fact that you were shifting closer to him in your sleep, seeking his warmth, he closed his eyes. He had anticipated the pure fury of tonight keeping him awake, but instead it was the fact that he could feel your breath on his neck, that if he turned his head back to you he could still make out your absolutely gorgeous feminine form from under the blankets. The dip in your waist and the curve of your hips, sloping into your soft thigh. Yoongi’s eyes shot open as he let out a soft hiss as he felt his member stiffen in his sweats, one large hand reaching down to palm himself, and he willed his hard-on to disappear.
He dropped his eyes again, confident he would get his bulge to go down without waking you, and as he tended to it, a soft small hand reached across his middle, making his forehead furrow. He tried to take a steadying breath, and tried to not imagine that the events of last night weren’t the reason he was in your bed. That you had just invited him to bed because you wanted him there, not for security but because you wanted him as a man to share your bed and body. That he could roll over to face you, slip his own hand up that oversized shirt and rub soft circles into your skin before slipping his hand down in-between your thighs.
Yoongi felt his cock twitch and himself harden further, forcing another deep breath in and out as he circled back to try and think of grotesque things to make his longing subside. You at least had stopped wriggling in the bed in an attempt to get closer; he was thankful for that. He squeezed his eyes shut tighter and tried to calm his heart and regulate his breath to make it possible for him to drift off.
This was going to be a long night.

Isolated
request: You had married Peter as an arrangement. There was no love involved. At least that’s what you thought but things can change. While you may have been unsure of your feelings for the High King, you were certain of one thing: your loneliness.
warning: slight smut in the beginning
part 2 | part 3
Peter’s warm breath tickled my neck as he moaned into my ear. I could feel him spill into me, my back arching in response. We stayed in place for a moment, both of us panting, until he climbed off of me. Peter slowly climbed out of bed, his back muscles flexing as he bent down to grab his clothes. I watched motionless as he put on his clothes. “Are you going to get dressed?” he asked, his voice void of any emotion.
“Yeah,” I replied, my voice hoarse causing me to clear my throat. “In a minute.” He nodded, quickly fixing his clothes before leaving the room. I let out a sigh, staring at the ceiling. My heart rate had returned to normal as I rolled out of bed. I quickly dressed, fixing my hair before leaving the room.
I toyed with the ring that rested on my ring finger as I made my way down the hall. I opened the large doors to reveal a nursery. I smiled as I picked up the child from the crib. “Hello Ollie,” I said, rocking the baby back and forth in my arms. He had his father’s bright blue eyes which were wide with bewilderment as he reached out to grab a strand of my hair that hung over him. I chuckled, gently removing the hair from his grasp. “That’s mommy’s hair silly,” I said softly.
“I still don’t get why you married her,” a voice on the other side of the door said.
“Susan, we’ve been over this,” another voice replied calmly. It was Peter’s. “It was the best way to calm the tension between our nation and Calormen.”
“It’s stupid is what it is,” Susan replied. “You were in a perfectly happy relationship with Maria.”
“I know,” Peter sighed. “But I have to put my nation before my feelings.”
“Well, what about Maria’s feelings? Don’t you think hers are important too?” Peter stayed silent. “I guess Narnia is more important than her too.” The sound of heels could be heard getting gradually softer before being completely inaudible. I could hear Peter sigh before the door to the room slowly started to open.
I immediately turned my head to Ollie who had already started to suck on my breast. “I didn’t know you were in here.” I turned to Peter.
“I always feed Ollie at this time,” I stated before turning my attention back to my baby. I could feel Peter linger near the door. I turned to see him looking around the room. “I’ll be done soon. Then you can be with him.” Peter nodded at this, putting his hands behind his back and walking around the room, inspecting the decorations.
“You didn’t hear anything before, did you?”
“Hear what?” I lied, suddenly glad that Ollie had decided that he was full.
“Nothing,” Peter said as I put Ollie back in his crib and adjusted my dress to cover myself. I inhaled sharply as I felt Peter make his way to the crib, his body only inches from mine. “He has your nose,” Peter pointed out.
“And your eyes,” I replied. I hoped that my heartbeat wasn’t as loud as I thought it was as Peter smiled down at Ollie.
“He does, doesn't he.” I nodded, clearing my throat and sliding away from Peter who had slowly made his way closer to me. “He’s all yours,” I said quickly, already making my way towards the door.
“Thank you,” Peter replied. I turned to him, giving a quick nod before leaving the room. I felt my face burn up as I made my way to the library. My brain replayed the feeling of Peter’s body so close to mine. The doors slammed behind me as I made my way to a secluded corner, not wanting anyone to see me in such a state. Why was I freaking out over something so small? Surely Peter and I had been in much more intimate situations. But the way we were standing so close, looking down at the child we had both created. It was like we were a true family filled with love and admiration. No. That was stupid.
Our relationship was not one of love but one of power. This thought only turned my attention to the conversation I had overheard. I could already feel the tears burning my eyes as a loud sob escaped me causing me to cover my mouth with my hands as I sat on the floor. I had been in Narnia for almost a year now and I felt just as much of a stranger as when I had arrived.
I missed Calormen. I missed the familiarity of my castle, the servants who always gave me friendly smiles, and my brothers who would turn boring days of study into fun adventures. I missed feeling at home. The sound of the library doors opening caused me to silence myself. I quickly wiped away any remaining tears as laughter rang throughout the room. I got up from my seat on the floor, smoothing out my dress, before walking through the shelves of books.
I glanced around the corner to see Lucy and Edmund at a table, a chessboard between them. “You’re cheating,” Edmund complained, causing Lucy to deny the accusation. I shifted my weight causing the floorboard beneath me to creak. I winced as the two turned towards the noise. I revealed myself to them. The smiles that had been on both of their faces slowly disappeared.
“Sorry,” I muttered. “I was just looking at the books.” I quickly grabbed a random book from the shelf before turning around and walking to the door. I could hear them whisper behind me as I left the room. I let out a sigh, mentally cursing myself for being so careless before making my way to my bedroom. Peter was most likely in a meeting which meant the room would be empty.
I threw the book onto my nightstand before flinging myself onto the bed. Almost immediately, tears started to stream down my face. I was not wanted in Narnia and Narnia had made it very clear to me. My body shook as I continued to cry until my body could produce no more tears, leaving my body to only shake as pure exhaustion overtook me. I felt myself start to drift off, wishing to be in my bed in Calormen instead of the bed of loneliness that I laid in.
“I’m pregnant,” I announced as Peter started to undress.
“When did you find out?”
“Yesterday.” I watched as he put on a pair of pants before climbing into bed with me.
“I’ll alert the others tomorrow.” I nodded. A year had passed since I overheard Peter and Susan’s conversation and though I would never admit it, I was hoping that being able to produce another child for Peter - for Narnia - would prove my worth to everyone. We both laid in silence. Soon enough, the sound of light snoring could be heard from Peter. My eyes adjusted to the darkness as I studied the man lying next to me. I wondered what it would be like if we were actually in love with each other. Would Peter respond with great excitement when I informed him of my pregnancy? Would we cuddle together to stay warm during the cold winter nights? I wondered what it would be like to have his strong arms wrapped around me.
I turned around, now staring at the dark room around us. Why was I thinking of this? Was it because I was lonely or because I actually had feelings for Peter? Maybe it was a mixture of both.
The next morning, I entered the dining room to see the other royals sitting around the table. “Peter told us you’re expecting,” Susan stated. Although there was a smile on her face, it didn’t quite meet her eyes.
“Yes, I am,” I replied, taking my seat next to Peter.
“Congratulations,” Lucy said. Her smile seemed to be a bit more genuine. Of all the royals, Lucy had been the kindest when I had arrived although I could still sense a slight feeling of disdain from her. Though I wasn’t sure if the disdain was for me or the arranged marriage I was in.
“Thank you.” I could feel Maria staring at me, her brother Caspian sitting next to her. I focused my attention on my breakfast, feeling the guilt build within me. I barely ate anything as I felt the intense stare of Maria the entire time. Instead, I pushed the food around my plate before excusing myself after an acceptable amount of time had passed.
Meals seemed to occur the same way for the next month. Maria’s eyes seemed to be looking right into my soul, judging every sin that I had ever committed. My guilt would eat away at me, inhibiting me from eating anything on my plate.
I closed the door behind me after another horrendous dinner where Maria had reminisced of the times Peter and she used to have. I couldn’t bear the reminder that I had stripped Maria of her lover. I was too exhausted to worry about table manners as I excused myself almost immediately after she had started speaking. I now laid down in bed, almost too tired to even keep my eyes open.
“(Y/n)?” I opened my eyes to see Peter walking into the room.
“I’m sorry for leaving like that,” I said, my voice weak. “I just couldn’t handle it anymore.”
“(Y/n) I’m worried,” he said, making his way to me. “If you continue to not eat, you could lose the baby.” I could feel the tears forming at his words.
“Don’t you think I know that?” I said, my voice a bit louder than before. “I’m trying Peter. I’m really trying but it’s hard when I’m not even wanted here.” I could hear my voice break at the end of the sentence causing me to wince. Peter seemed to freeze in place as tears streamed down my face. “Goddammit!” I sobbed, burying my face into my hands. I hated this. I hated feeling so alone. I hated that I could feel my health deteriorating. I hated that I was crying. And I especially hated that I was crying in front of Peter. I could feel Peter watching me in silence as I broke down in front of him.
I felt the bed bend underneath the weight of another body. I felt a pair of arms wrap around me, hands rubbing my back soothingly as I sobbed into Peter’s chest. “I’m so sorry,” Peter said softly, repeating the phrase over and over again as I continued to sob. Eventually, my sobs turned into whimpers before turning into silence. My entire body felt heavy as I continued to lean into him, his arms remaining where they were. We both sat there in deafening silence.
That night, my question of what it would be like to cuddle with Peter was answered. His strong arms made me feel protected as I fell asleep in them, our legs tangled together like vines. Our relationship was not perfect. In fact, it was far from it. But we had each other and maybe that was enough.

as the world caves in
masterlist | request
spencer reid x bau agent!reader
song inspo: as the world caves in - matt maltese (i highly recommend listening to this before or during reading to fully understand the fic)
summary: you’ve worked in the bau for almost a year now, but this is your toughest case to date. when the unsub puts you and spencer in a near death situation, the complex feeling of mortality causes you to bear your souls to one another
word count: 6k | warnings: no smut but it is typical criminal minds violence, plot centers around reader being held hostage by an unsub so there is tying up, reader getting hurt, etc. pls be cautious when reading if that makes you uncomfortable
Your head was pounding, the sound of phones ringing and private chatter ringing through your ears. You shakily poured a cup of coffee, closing your eyes momentarily as you tried to wake yourself up. You glanced at the clock, seeing that it was barely five in the morning. You yawned obnoxiously, assuming no one was around you. But when you heard a quiet snicker from behind, you knew immediately you were not alone. You spun around quickly to see Emily, waving as she set her bag down on her desk.
“Pretty early to be called in. Must be important,” she concurred, pouring herself a cup of stale FBI coffee as well.
“Do you ever get used to it?” You groaned, taking a long swig of the cheap coffee. You had doused it with milk and sugar to make it consumable, but it still left a nasty taste in your mouth with each sip. You knew you wouldn’t make it without caffeine, though, so you stomached it down.
“I’ve been here… five years, now? I can assure you it doesn't get easier,” she laughed. You had missed her laugh, when she was gone. She had become a wonderful mentor to you, and when you thought you lost her, you were shattered. Having her back has been enough to get you through the tough cases, which seemed to be escalating with each one.
“You know, next week is my one year anniversary with the BAU,” you smiled, excited of your first milestone with the team. The BAU was an exceptionally hard job, and many people didn’t make it as long as you had. It was something to be proud of.
“You’re kidding! Congratulations, (Y/N).”
“Thank you!”
You saw Hotch and Derek walk in out of the corner of your eye, deep in conversation. You were sure it was an important one, the look on Hotch’s face confirming your suspicions. They walked straight to the conference room, not even looking up to notice you and Emily. You gave Emily a look, and you were both thinking the same thing. ‘We better get our asses in there.’
You followed Emily into the room, Garcia getting the case ready to present. The rest of the team filtered in over the next few minutes, riddled with dark circles, cups of coffee and worry. There wasn’t much small talk made, everyone too out of it to pretend to talk about what they did last weekend.
“Good morning everyone, thanks for coming in so early,” Hotch addressed, standing up as he welcomed everyone. “We’ve got a bit of a weird case, today. Garcia, why don’t you go ahead and present.”
“Okay, my loves. This is a bit of a weird one, so strap in to keep up with me. A 21 year old female, Emily Davies, was abducted yesterday morning from the parking lot in her apartment complex. Now, the lot did have security cameras, but the unsub cut the internet cable and they can’t download the video until the can fix the wire.”’
“He’s smart, probably knew it would slow us down. And shows he has knowledge in wiring and electrics.” Derek added.
“Exactly. The police believe we should have the footage by the time we land. Now here’s where it gets weird. Two hours after she was abducted, there was a shooting at a gas station about 30 miles outside of the city, off I75. Three dead, including the worker. No cameras there, unfortunately.”
“How do we know it’s the unsub?” You questioned, failing to see the connection between the two crimes.
“Ah, my darling, if there wasn’t a connection we wouldn’t be called in. Our unsub left a note at this crime scene. It read, ‘They were going to take her. I couldn’t let them take her. She is mine, we are in love. Please, leave us be.’” Garcia then pulled up photos of the crime scene and the note on the monitor.
“These are clean shots, straight to the head, execution style,” Reid said, studying the photos on the screen.
“He knows how to use a gun, that’s for sure.” Rossi added.
“The 911 call was made by a customer who walked in to see the carnage about a half hour after the unsub left. They believe he is continuing to drive North, but we currently have no idea what him or his car look like.”
“If he didn’t kill again, he most likely stopped somewhere. He may be lowing low in a roadside motel to keep us off his trail,” Reid said.
“The gas station seemed unplanned. The abduction was thorough, leaving no evidence. But this scene is sloppy, and rushed. They must’ve seen Emily and panicked, and he shot em. This was never part of the plan, and now he’s freaking out.”
“That’s a good point, Emily’s face is all over the news now. He’d need a place to rest for a bit until he can come up with the rest of his plan. How exactly did people discover that Emily was missing?” You asked, curious about the rest of the unsubs plan.
“Well, it was actually kind of a fluke, but very helpful for us. Her boyfriend, Michael Adams, discovered she was gone when he came home early from work. He wasn’t supposed to be home for another six hours, but something had happened and they sent him home. He called 911 when he realized her phone, keys, and bag were all at home but she was nowhere to be found. They aren’t sure exactly what time she went missing, but at that point Michael had only been gone for two hours.”
“This guy had to have been stalking her. He knew to take her on a day she’d be alone for hours, he knew to cut the wires for the security cameras… this was meticulously planned,” Derek responded.
“Except what he didn’t plan for was the boyfriend getting home early, and Emily’s face plastered everywhere. He thought he’d have more time to get away,” JJ added.
“If he truly doesn’t want to be separated from her, it’s only a matter of time before he kills again. Anybody that gets in their way will die, if we don’t stop him. Wheels up in thirty.” Hotch instructed, dismissing you all as you separated to prepare for another trip.
You lingered in the conference room for a moment, staring at the photos on the monitor. An uncomfortable feeling floated through you, chills up your spine as you stared at the crime scene. It was far tamer than most things you’d seen during your time here, but something about it made you uneasy. Spencer had noticed you staying back, and he stayed in the room as well. Once everyone cleared out, he cleared his throat to let you know he was there. You turned to him, not sure if you should tell him how you felt or not. Was it weak to say you were nervous?
“You okay?” He asked calmly, his eyes avoiding yours as he waited for your answer.
“I… just have a bad feeling about this case. Does that ever happen to you?”
“Mmm, yes.” He chuckled slightly, running a hand through his hair. “And usually, I’m right.”

The plane landed in Cincinnati only a few hours later, cars awaiting to take you to the police station upon arrival. You were grateful to hear that they were able to pull the security footage from the lot Emily was abducted, and it was ready to be viewed when you arrived at the station.
You got in a car with Derek and Spencer, a duo that you usually tried to avoid. Derek always joked with you and Spencer that the two of you had a crush on each other. Although it was slightly true on your part, and your heart did race every time Spencer walked into a room, it was embarrassing to see Spencer so confidently deny any feelings for you.
But, Hotch sent the three of you to the station, instructing you to study the security tapes. The rest of them were going to talk to the boyfriend and visit the crime scene. You sat awkwardly in the back seat, trying to keep quiet, not wanting to say anything that would entice Derek.
“Judging by the way he worded this note, our unsub is most definitely in love with Emily. Do you think she knew him?” Spencer turned to you, and then to Derek, waiting for someone to respond.
“It’s impossible to say. There was no sign of forced entry in the apartment.” Derek responded.
“They think she was taking her trash out when she was abducted. Explains why she left all of her things inside, and the door was unlocked,” you added, wanting to be a part of the conversation. Although it had been almost a year, you still felt like you had to constantly prove yourself when you were with them.
“Even if she knew him, you wouldn’t get in someone's car without your phone, or wallet. He had to have had a weapon,” Derek said.
“The gun he used to kill everyone in the gas station, probably,” Spencer muttered. You all stayed silent for the rest of the drive, your brain taking a quiet moment to think through the details of the case.
The police station wasn’t too far from the airport, and you got there pretty quickly. You always felt so small in the police stations, usually dealing with male detectives or sheriffs or cops. You felt like you’d drown in testosterone, and everyone would be so busy in a dick measuring contest that they couldn’t save you. As you walked into the station, you were greeted by yet again another male detective who reeked of desperation and Viagra.
“Hi, I’m Detective Elijah Guthrie. Thank you so much for coming.” He shook all of your hands, welcoming you into his station.
“Where do you have the security tapes set up?” Reid asked quickly, realizing the urgency of this case, and that we didn't have time for small talk.
“Conference room. Everything you said you needed is set up there, as well.”
“Awesome, we should go get started, then,” Derek smiled, leading the three of you into the room.
You all sat down and watched the tapes, replaying them over and over to catch every detail that you could. Luckily, the unsub cut the wires after he took the girl. It seemed sloppy, on his end. He had to know eventually that we’d get the footage. But he was smart enough to make sure his face was nowhere in view. Although, his car was still in view, and you were able to pull a plate number.
“Garcia, baby girl, can you hear me?”
“Loud and clear. What can I do for you, my sweets?”
“Run a plate for us. Ohio plates, number EUE 8561.”
“Of course, give me uno momento....” You could hear the sound of Garcia typing away, finding the mysterious man. In all honesty, you weren’t sure if any of these cases would get solved without her.
“Alright, I got your man. 24 year old Jacob Lane.” “Are we sure our unsub didn’t just steal this guy’s car?”
“Good point, Garcia check to see if Jacob has any connection to Emily.”
“Gotcha… oh, man. Looks like he grew up in the same town that she did.”
“Well, that’s suspicious,” Derek responded, raising his eyebrows. “Alright, thanks baby. Try and dig up some more on this guy.” He hung up the phone, staring at the paused video in front of him.
“(Y/N), you call Hotch and give him the update. There’s a good chance this guy’s our unsub. Reid, call JJ and have her ask the boyfriend if they knew this guy.” You and Reid both looked at each other and nodded, standing up and walking into the hallway to complete your tasks. You dialed Hotch’s number swiftly, listening to the ringing as you awaited him to answer.
“Hotchner,” he answered, sternly.
“Hey, it’s me. I think we got our guy- Jacob Lane. The car that Emily got into was registered to him, and he grew up in the same town as her. Garcia is digging up some more info, and Reid is on the phone with JJ, gonna see what we can get from the boyfriend.”
“Alright, well we’ve just been informed there was another shooting. This time at a motel not too far from the gas station. We’re gonna head there, now.”
“How many, this time?” You asked, dreading the answer.
“Six. Doesn’t look like anybody made it out.”
You stayed silent, your head spinning as you thought of six more dead bodies, six more grieving families.
“Thanks, Hotch.” You hung up your phone, walking back towards Reid and Derek.
“Detective Guthrie just told me there’s been another shooting,” Derek said to you, unaware if you had been informed.
“Yeah, Hotch just told me. We have to get this guy before he does this again.”
“Unfortunately, most cases with spree killers like this end in hostage situations, and eventually suicide by cop. Spree killers' motivations are usually very similar.” Reid stated, his voice emotionless as he rattled off his facts. He was obviously right, and you felt sick as you thought of standing face to face with this man,
“I’m gonna go talk to Emily’s parents, see if they knew anything about Jacob. You guys stay in here and go over everything we have so far, see if we missed anything.”
“Alright. Thanks, Derek.”
He left the room quietly, walking out to find the family. You started looking over the video again, straining your eyes to see if you could make out any overlooked details. But it was the same every time, there was nothing new to report. You were angry, not feeling any closer to catching this guy.
“What do you make of this?” You asked Spencer, hoping his genius brain would come up with an explanation yours couldn’t.
“He loves a girl, tries to take her away with him, gets caught and panics, starts killing anybody that calls him out. It’s pretty straight forward. Although, the way he’s killing them is unique. The actual crime seems rushed and panicked, but the killings themselves and calm and exact. One shot, the same place. It’s too… perfect.”
“He’s killed before,” you concluded, feeling your heart racing as you thought of more victims at the hand of Jacob.
“Yes, but most likely in the military. These are execution style deaths. This M.O. is very specific to military personnel.”
“And you would be correct, boy genius,” Garcia shouted through the speaker on the desk, her voice scaring you slightly. “Jacob Lane was in the Air Force. He was deployed once to Iraq, he got back about six months and was recently relocated to Cincinnati.”
“So something must’ve happened between Emily and Jacob in the past, and when he moved back and saw her again, it must’ve been the trigger. Topped with PTSD, he could’ve easily snapped.”
“What exactly did he do in Iraq?”
“Ah, that is classified information, according to the US government. But no worries, nothing is too classified for me. Our buddy Jacob executed war criminals during his time overseas.”
“Well, that explains the M.O.,” you chuckled, running a hand through your hair, shaking your head in disgust.
“Other than that, he had a relatively normal life. Average in school, normal family. He bounced around colleges a bit before deciding to enlist, but there’s no red flags.”
“Could you find any other link between him and Emily?”
“Well, that’s the other thing. Jacob deleted all of his social media accounts when he got back from Iraq. Twitter, Instagram… everything, gone. But, just because he deleted it does not mean the record doesn’t exist somewhere. I am currently trying to unlock all of his accounts and see if I can find anything, but it’ll take a bit.”
“Alright, Garcia, call us if you get anything. Thank you,” you replied, disconnecting the call. Spencer had stepped away for a moment, answering his phone.
“If this guy had a perfectly normal life, why is he doing this?” You asked, your nails digging into your palms in frustration.
“The military… doing what he did… it could mess a lot of normal people up. Plus, there may be more to the story than we know.”
“Yeah, there is. Listen to this,” Spencer said, walking into the room and putting his phone on speaker.
“Hey, it’s me,” JJ said, her voice flowing softly through the phone. “So we talked to the boyfriend, and there is a long history between Emily and Jacob. They met when she was 18, and they were both dating different people. They had apparently had an affair of sorts, though, leading Jacob to break up with his girlfriend for her. But apparently Emily decided to stay with her boyfriend and ditch Jacob. That’s when he joined the military. Before he left for training camp, Emily’s boyfriend committed suicide. Blamed Emily and Jacob for ruining his life.”
“Jesus…” you muttered under her breath.
“Well, it gets more interesting. Emily picked up and moved to Florida, after that, transferring to a college down there. She was apparently trying to start over. Her and Jacob didn’t talk for two years, but he was relocated to the same town she was in, and they met up again. They started dating, and that’s when he got deployed. About a month after he left, Emily claimed he started acting really weird, to the point where it was scaring her. She broke up with him and blocked him on all social media.”
“The boyfriend knew all of this?”
“She told him because apparently she was afraid of Jacob. She told her boyfriend that if something ever happened to her, she was sure it was Jacob.”
“Why wouldn’t he have mentioned something sooner?”
“He didn’t think it was a big deal. Plus, until two weeks ago, he was living in Florida.”
“Exactly. And he got moved here, found out Emily was here and had a boyfriend, and that was probably the trigger.”
“What I don’t understand is how Emily just… dropped him? She was clearly terrified of him, what could he have possibly done to give her that reaction?”
“He could have told her what he was doing down there. That job is not for someone with a soft heart. She probably couldn’t stomach the thought of being with a man who…” You couldn’t finish your sentence, your mouth choking up your words as they tried to come up.
“We need to make a statement to the press. The public needs to know who to look for.”
“I’ll call the media and put together a press conference. I’ll see you guys soon.” JJ hung up, and Spencer put his phone away. The three of you stayed silent for a moment, staring at each other in awe as your minds wrapped around the information. Part of you felt bad for him. He joined the military to get away, and they stuck him in a job that ruined his humanity. And the girl you love turns away from you when you need her most…
“The hardest part of the job is not to feel bad for the unsubs,” you laughed, your mouth dry and your forehead sweating as you felt more and more anxious about the future of this case.
“It’s refreshing, actually. To see someone else with enough empathy to feel for someone who has done so many bad things. It’s a sign of a beautiful heart,” Spencer said, his eyes meeting yours as he spoke. You smiled at him, redness creeping up your cheeks as you felt your nerves tingling at his words.
“Oh, I’m sure Spencer thinks about your beautiful heart all the time, (Y/N),” Derek teased, causing Spencer to blush as well, and quickly dart his eyes away from you.
“No… c’mon Derek. Why do you have to turn everything into this? Can’t I just be nice to her!” Spencer groaned, pushing Derek slightly on the arm in frustration.
“We’ve got a problem,” Det. Guthrie yelled, bursting through the door of the conference room and, thankfully, interrupting Derek.
“What’s wrong?”
“Emily escaped. She just walked into the police station.”
“How is that a problem?”
“Because Jacob just shot up another place. A diner, this time. We just got the call a minute ago. We’re only a few minutes away. He must’ve come back to the city after Emily got away.”
“(Y/N), you and Reid go to the crime scene. I’m going to stay here and talk to Emily.”
“Alright, we’ll leave now, call us if you need anything.”
●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○
The drive was quick, helped greatly by the use of your sirens. You sped quickly to the diner, you and Reid the first to arrive on the scene. The witness who had called it in greeted you with sobs, not having time to console her as the two of you went quickly inside. The scene was similar to the previous ones, eight bodies, all shot directly in the center of the head. You noticed something wrong, pretty quickly.
“Reid…” you whispered, staring quietly at a table next to you.
“What’s up?”
“Do you see that?” You pointed helplessly to a small plate accompanied with an ever smaller cup, stars and smiley faces printed onto it.
“That’s a kids meal.”
“There’s not a kid in here, Reid.” You looked at him nervously, your whole body burning as you imagined the child that Jacob took.
“There’s a note here, (Y/N)...” Reid handed a crumpled napkin with a sloppy note written across it.
“Is it an address?”
“It’s definitely the unsubs handwriting. I studied the previous note, there’s no doubt he wrote this.”
“This address is only a few minutes away…”
“We need to leave, now. I’ll call Hotch and tell him to send backup.” Reid ran out of the diner and to the car, and you followed behind quickly. Other cops were now pulling in to the crime scene, and you let them know you were leaving but to stay with the bodies and take care of calling the families. You still weren’t sure who in there had a kid, and you wanted to notify the rest of the family if you could.
You and Spencer called Hotch in the car, letting him know where you were headed. He told you him and Rossi would be there in twenty minutes or so. Spencer was swerving in and out of traffic, trying to get to the location the unsub left for you. When you finally arrived, you were surprised to find a secluded barn near a small patch of land. You pulled up and got out of the car, arming yourselves as you got near the building.
“We should wait for backup, Reid… this could be a trap…” you said with caution, a wave of nerves flooding you as you stood in front of the building.
“He could have a little kid in there, (Y/L/N)... we have to go in.”
“Spencer, you know that’s not the right protocol.”
“When has protocol ever done us any good?”
Spencer starting walking towards the door, and you couldn’t bear to see him go in alone. You followed reluctantly, walking through the open door. As soon as you walked through the doors, you saw him. The face in the photos was finally right in front of you, holding a small item in his hands. You couldn’t make out what it was, you were too focused on the boy, who was tied to a chair next to him.
“Hello, agents. Thank you for joining me,” Jacob said, smiling devilishly at the two of you.
“You need to let the boy go, Jacob,” you instructed, your voice remain quiet and calm and your mind spun in circles.
“That’s not how this is going to go. Do you know what this is?” He waved the device in his hands, smiling down proudly at it. You knew then exactly what he was holding in his hands.
“It’s a bomb…”
“Exactly. And if I don’t get exactly what I want, it’s going to detonate. Are we clear?” He looked at you specifically, as if he was nervous you would be the one to try and defy him.
“Yes,” Spencer answered for you, looking upset as he realized you were right. This was a trap, one that the two of you walked so easily into.
“Put your weapons down, first,” he instructed, pointing at your guns. The two of you placed them down on the ground slowly, avoiding eye contact with him.
“Wonderful. Now, I want you to call your boss and tell him I would like to speak with him.”
You nodded in agreeal, slowly pulling out your phone. You dialed Hotch’s number, your hands shaking as you pressed the buttons. Your heart felt as if it was going to explode, bringing the phone to your ear as you listened to it ring.
“We’re almost there, what’s going on?” His voice made you feel safe, calm, knowing he would get you out of there safely. He had to get you out. You couldn’t die… not here… not now.
“Hotch, we’re here with Jacob, and he’d like to talk to you,” you said shakily, your voice trembling as you got the words out.
“(Y/N)? What’s going on?”
You handed Jacob the phone, which he ripped out of your hand and placed to his own ear.
“Listen carefully. I want her back. I want a plane out of here for both of us, or I blow the kid and your two agents up? Is that understood?” You strained hard to see if you could hear Hotch’s voice, but you couldn’t make anything out. You looked over to Spencer, who was staring helplessly at the ground.
You didn’t bother listening to the rest of Jacob’s conversation with Hotch, not wanting to hear his voice anymore. It was you sick to think about him. When he finally finished, he threw the phone back at you. He walked up to you, grabbing a handful of your hair and pulling your face back to look at him.
“It would be a shame to kill you… You’re so beautiful.” He whispered, smiling down at you. He pulled hard on your hair, knocking you to the ground with all of his force. You slammed onto the dirt hard, feeling your body jolt as you landed. You felt pain shoot through your body, screaming loudly.
“Don’t touch her again!” Spencer yelled, running towards him violently. Jacob pulled a gun and pointed it at his head, which made him stop in his tracks.
“Don’t take another step. Since you want to be her knight in shining armor so bad, why don’t you go ahead and tie her up,” Jacob instructed, pointing the gun at a pile of rope in the corner. Spencer walked slowly over to it, grabbing the rope and tying your hands behind your back. As he tightened the knot, he whispered to you quietly.
“I’m sorry,” he said, the words bouncing back and forth in your head as Jacob pushed you to the ground and continued to tie up Spencer. After he finished, he sat Spencer next to you. He had put the two of you in the corner, out of sight and mind. You were aggravating Jacob, you could tell. If he could just tie you up and place you in the corner, he wouldn’t have anything to throw him off.
“Are you okay?” Spencer whispered, looking concerned at your now bruising body.
“A little sore, but I’ll be fine. What are we gonna do here, Spence?”
“The team will get us out, okay. I promise.”
You watched Jacob on the other side of the room, pacing slowly as he awaited another call that would give him his demands. You started to hear the sound of sirens pull up, feeling slightly relieved knowing they were right outside those walls. The sound of helicopters overhead was prominent, and you noticed Jacob wincing as it got louder.
“Does the sound of helicopters bother you?” You shouted to him, trying to get his attention away from the boy.
“Shut up! Do I need to tape your mouth shut, too?” He was aggravated, waving his gun around and placing a hand on his head.
“My dad was in the Army… helicopters reminded him of his time overseas. He’d have a panic attack every time he heard one…” You said, trying to relate to him. If you couldn’t use force to bring him down, maybe you could sympathize with him.
“It’s just so loud…” he winced, closing his eyes as if all of his senses were betraying him.
“Let me talk to my boss, if he knew how much they hurt you I bet he’d call them off…”
Jacob considered your proposal for a moment, the idea of the pain going away calling to him. But he was smart, and realized quickly what was going on.
“Are you trying to trick me? Do you think you can outsmart me? I have been ahead of you this entire time.”
“Except you didn’t plan on Emily’s boyfriend coming home early, and you didn’t plan on her escaping, did you? None of this was a part of the plan.” Spencer looked at him desperately, and you wanted nothing more than to curl up next to him and feel him holding you. If you were to die here, today, it would be nice to die in the arms of someone you cared about. You desperately craved his touch, especially now. Who knows if this would be your last chance to experience him?
“All I want is for me and Emily to be together, okay? Don’t you get that? Have you ever been in love?”
“I have… and I know how much you love Emily. But if you kill us, you’ll be killing yourself, too. And then Emily will never get to hear how you really feel. Because that’s what all of this is about, right? You just want her to know how you feel?”
“I told her everything. I bore everything to her and she walked away. It… hurt.” Jacob was crying, tears crawling down his face as he shook the gun in his hand.
“I don’t want to die without telling the girl I love how I feel. I know you don’t, either, Jacob. We can all walk out of here and you can see her again.” Spencer looked at you, his eyes pleading for your attention as he spoke.
“I don’t want to get locked up, I can’t live like that…” Jacob continued to cry, and you desperately wanted to give him a hug. He was evil, and you despised him, but he was broken and alone and needed a hug.
“No, no. I am not letting you talk me into this… you both shut up and leave me alone!” He yelled, running away from you and back to the young boy. You let out a long sigh, feeling your own tears starting to form. You really thought you might’ve had him this time. But he was too smart, and he wouldn’t fall for any of your tricks.
“I’m so sorry, (Y/N). I should be able to save you, and I can’t…” Spencer was pale, his forehead sweating as he leaned against the wall.
“Spencer, don’t apologize. It is nobody's job to take care of me, except myself.”
“I don’t want to die in here without telling you how I feel, (Y/N).”
“What are you talking about, Spence?”
“I am crazy about you. I have been in love with you for months. And every time I think I might want to say something, Derek makes some stupid joke and you get awkward and I realize if I say anything I’d risk our friendship but I’m sorry, I can’t die here with you and not tell you I’m in love with you.”
“Spencer…” was the only thing you managed to get out. You opened your mouth to try to say more, but the sound of your cell phone ringing stopped you. Jacob ran quickly to the phone, picking it up and placing it on speaker. He looked at you to make sure you were listening. He wanted you to know your entire lives depended on whatever happened on this one phone call.
“Jacob?” A small female voice came on the line, one that you had not recognized. “Jacob, it’s me, it’s Emily.”
“Emily!” He cried, placing a hand over his heart as he heard her voice.
“Jacob, I am right outside for you. I promise we can walk away together if you just leave your weapons inside and come out.” You could hear the pain in her voice and she said those words, knowing how hard it must’ve been for her to do this. But she was the only thing that could end this, that could save four lives. She didn’t have a choice.
“How do I know you’re telling the truth? You ran away from me, Emily!” Jacob cried into the phone, his voice shaky and his face swollen from tears.
“I have always loved you, Jacob. I have told you everything. You have to believe me. I’m right on the other side of the door. Put down the weapons and show them you’re unarmed, and we can walk away together.”
You watched him closely, patiently waiting for his response. You had never been a religious person, but you prayed to whoever was listening that you could walk away from this.
“Spencer… if we don’t make it out, I want you to know I love you, too. And if we do get out of here, please take me far away from here,” you cried, leaning your head on his shoulder and begging the universe for your life. He kissed the top your head, a small comfort that calmed you down. You watched Jacob slowly look over at the two of you, staying as close as you could, savoring love even in the last moments of your life.
You think it was that moment, him seeing two people in love and remembering what it felt like, that caused him to walk out. He slowly set the gun down, and another small device that you believed was the detonator. He walked through the doors, the sound of a bullet crunching through the air immediately as he stepped outside. You heard the screams of a girl, who was probably dealing with love and loss and pain all in one second, watching the man she loved and feared dying in front of her own eyes.
SWAT and the Bomb Squad came in shortly after, JJ and Derek running in to find the two of you. Emily and Rossi took care of the child as the other two untied you. They walked you outside, JJ pulling you far from Spencer and into an ambulance.
“JJ, I promise I’m fine, but I really need to go see Spencer…” You tried to stand up and walk past her, but you were a little dizzy and she pushed you back down pretty quickly. You saw Spencer arguing with Derek as well, probably for the same reason you were trying to push through JJ.
“Can I take your blood pressure, Agent?” The paramedic said, holding up an arm band and trying to wrap it around you. You angrily refused, finally getting on your feet and walking away from JJ. She realized it wasn’t worth chasing you down, that you would get checked out when you were good and ready.
You ran towards Spencer, who was still being blocked by Derek. You pushed passed cops and paramedics and everything in between, your eyes only on the man you loved. The man who loved you. When you finally got to him, he wrapped his arms around you in relief. He held you for a moment, before letting go and kissing you. It was a kiss full of life, celebrating existence and love.
“Hah, friendly my ass…” Derek whispered, rolling his eyes as he walked away from the two of you.
“Take me away from here, Spencer Reid.”
“Wherever you wanna go.”

THE FORGOTTEN DAY. - AKAASHI, DAICHI, KUROO, ATSUMU.
@luveranime wrote : ❝Hey Nikki its me again lmao 😂. Could you do one where they actually completely forget your birthday? With Akaashi, daichi, kuroo, and atsumu? Make it angst please🥺❞
A.N: ❝dear reader,
thank you so much for trusting me once more with your request! i always love writing the requests even more so than my own prompts. i sincerely hope you’ll like these hc’s, i tried to make these as angsty as i could but atsumu has two braincells and i could NOT resist the temptation of doing something more lighthearted, i hope you won’t be mad at me! mwah! enjoy your promised letter!
sincerely yours, nikki❞
Genre: Kinda angsty, kinda fluffy. Warnings: Cursing, crying.
Now, Akaashi is not one to forget about dates and birthdays. I’m pretty sure he has a notebook filled with everyone’s birthdays written in a chronological order. Needless to say, he’s someone who is extremely organized.
He is the kind of boyfriend to remember all the slightest details you mention when you guys have a conversation. We’re talking about small details, pieces of informations that others wouldn’t necessarily pick up on except if your name is Akaashi Keiji. (I.E: he knows that Bokuto-san classifies his underwear according to each day of the week.)
The week leading up to your birthday, he makes sure to leave several notes stuck on your notebooks, laptop, mug, even your jacket to let you know how loved you are and how exceptional of a human being you are.
Unfortunately for you, your birthday has the misfortune of being set right during the revision week leading to the final exams. The latter are extremely important to Akaashi because missing his exams would result in him not being able to go to inter-school volleyball training held during the weekend.
Even though he’s in a relationship, he can be quite distant when something is bothering him because he refuses categorically to drown you with his problems, revisions being one of them. He’s so driven to study hard (although he’s already an excellent student), that everything else appears as a blur to him- he breathes revisions, eats revisions, lives for revisions.
The latter causes him to inevitably forget about your birthday. At first, you just think he’s playing along with you and he has this huge and sweet surprise in store for you which might explain why he hasn’t left you any love notes or sent you any texts, or even avoid you at school.
The evening of your birthday, you crash down at his place, a bit perplexed at his antics. But, unconsciously, you were still in denial, you knew or at least hoped that he was just purposefully acting as such because he wanted to surprise you for your birthday.
When he opens the door and sees you, he has a quizzical look on his face “Um, hello, Y/N? May I ask what you’re doing here, dove?”
Now, it was your turn to have a quizzical look on your face, “So you really don’t know? Isn’t it, you know, a special day?”
His mind is so coated by his obsession to study hard that nothing comes to his mind, nothing to answer to your interrogation and eventually, nothing to leave his mouth as a response. He could swear there’s something he has forgotten, it’s somehow on the tip of his tongue but no sound is echoed on his part.
“You know what, Akaashi, just don’t make promises you can’t keep. I hope these notes you left me will help you.”
First of all, you called him Akaashi instead of Keiji, meaning that there was something terribly wrong with him or his deeds.
Second of all, he looked carefully enough, there were pearls of tears on the corner of your eyes.
Third of all, he was so taken aback, as if all his memory had resurfaced in the blink of an eye that he still couldn’t find the strength to say something. Instead, his eyes wandered on your figure, his back facing you, already on your way home. The sole reflex he had was to raise his hand in your direction, as if he could catch your silhouette already long gone, hopelessly.
Daichi is already the (unofficial) dad of troublesome children (thank the heavens for mama Sugawara and uncle Asahi), which means not only he has to juggle between his duty as a captain and as a student, but he also must make sure of the stability of your relationship.
It’s really taking a toll on him. Seeing him come home late after late night practice is not even surprising anymore, he just comes to your place and crashes down for the night at unbelievable hours- sometimes ten, sometimes eleven.
His role of captain is so dear to his heart and he’s kind of an all or nothing kind of guy. But when it comes to the volleyball team, he pours every once of passion, patience and energy he has to offer. He knows that the first years have literally gifts when it comes to playing and he wants to exploit their potential at the fullest.
Nonetheless, when it comes to remembering dates, Daichi (being an unofficial dad) has the tendency to remember rather quickly common dates like birthdays, if not, he can always count on Suga to remind him in case he gets too hotheaded into what he’s doing.
On the day of your birthday, he sent you a myriad of texts, mini-novels if you will. All of them were the testimonies of the love he held in your regard, he was so thoughtful, each one of his word was carefully chosen to make you feel like the most loved person on the planet.
Starting the day off with a series of loving texts from your boyfriend is indeed the best way to wake up.
However, after close inspection, the last text he had sent you mentioned a date tonight at your favorite restaurant in town because, and I quote, “you deserve to be treated like the royalty you are.”
Focusing in class was almost impossible, the only thing occupying your mind was tonight’s date with Daichi, just the two of you on your birthday. And truth be told, there was no other way you’d rather spend this ever so special day.
Right after the bell rang, you made a beeline to your place to get ready as Daichi told you he would pick you up at 7, right after practice. Your heart was bursting with joy and impatience, a sweet mix of emotions which made you feel overwhelmed by love.
It was 7 already and your eyes were stuck on the alley of your house, waiting to see Daichi’s car arrive and admire the beautiful, lovestruck grin plastered upon his face.
Then it was 8, and suspicions started to arise in your mind. Your head was clouded by interrogations : “Does he not love me anymore?”, “Is this is way of telling me we should break up?”
Then 9, then 10 and eventually 11.
You waited four hours to hear a sign from Daichi, and you couldn’t keep up with the countless texts you had sent him, wondering where he was. But, you still had hope. Heart-crushing hope that is, or maybe you were just stuck in pure denial.
You were sitting on a chair, several stains of tears on your cheeks already, facing the window which offered a view outside your house because “You never know, he might show up...”
At 11, your phone rang and Daichi’s number highlighted the screen. You were so quick to pick up the phone, your quickness was almost inhuman.
“Baby? Hi, it’s me. Are you still awake?” You hummed in response, scared of the way your voice would break if you were to talk. “Listen, practice-...”, you cut him off : “Practice ran late again, I know, Daichi.”
There was a moment of silence on his end of the line, a moment of guilt.
“Baby, you have no idea how sorry I am. It’s just the team and the firs-...” - “I know, the gifted first years.” your voice was barely above a whisper.
“We can reschedule tomorrow if you want, I’ll ask Ennoshita to take care of the training for me.” He sounded desperate, eaten alive by the guilt consuming him and the fragile tone of your voice, you sounded like a broken record.
“Tomorrow won’t be my birthday anymore, Daichi, you know that.” You knew that if you were to hear the sound of his voice again, you were bound to break in tears, and as much as he hurt you, you knew it wasn’t his fault and you didn’t want to make him feel even more guilty than he already was feeling.
Instead, you hung up while he was still rambling about confused apologies and you headed straight to your room, head low, fresh tears crashing on the stains left by the dried tears. Like an eternal circle, if you will.
Kuroo is someone who is extremely observant by nature, just look at the way he behaves around Kenma- he doesn’t need for you to talk to know how you’re feeling and can directly dissect what’s wrong with you.
So when he finds himself having a one-sided discussion with you, (or a double-sided conversation if you deem silence as a worthy response), his brain automatically goes on retrospection mode and he’s trying to reminisce absolutely everything that happened during the last 48 hours.
The science-related puns don’t work, the teasing is a crushing defeat, all his best aces fail to put a smile on your face or make you crack a laugh. You’re still silent, or if he’s lucky enough, he can hear the faint sound of hum leaving your lips.
His last option is to ask Kenma because Kenma appears as an omniscient point of view in your relationship. And although he’s not directly involved in your couple, he always seems to find the responses to the riddles left by the cons of being in a relationship.
Kuroo and Kenma are having lunch outside, as expected of the blonde individual, his eyes are solely focused on the device held between his hands, but Kuroo is used to it.
“Man, I just don’t get why Y/N is giving me the cold shoulder, it’s really weighing on my mind.”
“Are you sure you don’t know, or do you act as if you don’t know?”
“Ha? What do you mean?”
“Yesterday was Y/N’s birthday, just in case you hadn’t noticed.”
Oh... Oh! It’s time to panic, it’s time to leave his brain on overdrive and find a solution to make up for what he judged an inexcusable behavior.
What broke his heart even more is when he imagined to put himself into your shoes, how heartbroken you must have felt, how alone you must have felt, he even wondered if you wanted to break up with him.
Sure, Kuroo was observant, but sometimes being a airhead got the best of him. Or perhaps in this case, the worse of him.
He froze, his mouth was set agape and kind of like Akaashi, in moments of panic, he didn’t know what to do. He felt defeatist, he knew that forgetting your birthday was a dealbreaker. He already thought of all the consequences of his actions, and he knew that none of these consequences would turn out good in any way.
He ran through the hallways like a madman, yelling to the other students to step aside as he did so. He knew where you were, and he felt so stupid for knowing your timetable off by heart but not being able to remember such a simple date as your birthday.
You were having lunch in class with your friends, and when a hint of a roster’s head peaked through the door, making hand gestures to silently tell you to come see him, you excused yourself and left the class under the puzzling looks of your friends.
To say that Kuroo was sweating was an understatement, he was absolutely shaking to death and he exuded guilt by every pore of his body. Your gaze landed on his face, and your expression seemed lifeless- where did the usual gleam in your eyes go? The shine in your eyes he loved so much?
“You’re free to insult me for the rest of my days on this planet. I know I messed up, I messed up so bad and I don’t even know how to-... Hey? Oi, Y/N, please, please don’t cry.”
If he needed yet another reason to feel guilty, that was his cue. The tears falling in cascade on your face, the scarlet tones of your eyes, everything about you screamed pure sadness.
Both of your hearts broke in unison, and the motion of his hands to capture you and hold him close to his chest was so experimental, as if he’d never held you in his arms in his entire life.
“Why did you forget, Tetsu?”
“I swear on my life that it was unintentional. I know you won’t forgive me anytime soon and, kitten, you have every right to do so. I know it’s not an excuse but just believe me when I say that it was unintentional. I’m so sorry, you have no idea.”
“Just wish me a happy birthday instead of rambling.”
“Happy birthday, kitten, I swear I’ll make it up to you.”
As the manager of the volleyball team, you were Inarizaki’s pride and joy. You were a literal ray of sunshine, the embodiment of a gem and you were always cherished by the entire team for helping them so much.
You always made sure they drank enough, prepped several towels in case they sweated too much (they always did), listened to their problems, eased their doubts- you were undeniably perfect to them.
So perfect that Osamu, as well as the rest of the team, always wondered how and why you ended up with his airhead of a twin, or rather, and I quote, “The useless piss-haired twin.”
To be frank, if it wasn’t for you, Atsumu would probably be dead by now. The cause of his death? Osamu himself? The whole team? His stupidity? We shall never know.
You cannot expect Atsumu to remember any specific dates, he even struggles to remember his own birthday which results in him asking when was his brother born and Osamu letting out a desperate sigh, wondering what on Earth did he do in his previous life to deserve such a twin.
Nonetheless, Osamu’s cooking skills came in handy. The whole team had agreed on celebrating your birthday, a kind of surprise birthday after practice if you will, because you were so good to them.
The divine smell of the cake didn’t go unsmelled (please help is that even a word?? no it’s not but i couldn’t say ‘go unseen’ because a smell can’t be seen like???) by none other than Atsumu himself. “Whatcha’ baking this for?” Osamu didn’t even bother to throw a glance in his twin brother’s direction “You should know, idiot.”
Safe to say that Atsumu got absolutely z e r o information from his brother whatsoever and was thus left in general incomprehension. He then figured that maybe it was someone’s birthday given how well looking the cake was, but whose birthday was it? Once again, z e r o idea.
After practice, the whole team gathered to show you the surprise they had in store for you- Kita had stuck some ‘happy birthday’ posters on the wall, Osamu had brought the cake and Aran had the gift from the whole team in his hands. The preparation was quick and efficient, all while you were changing in your more regular outfit in the locker room.
Needless to say, Atsumu still had z e r o clue to whose birthday they were going to celebrate but the grin on his face still testified of how happy he was.
When you exited the locker room to say goodbye to the rest of the team, you were absolutely overwhelmed by joy when you saw them gathered together, a radiant smile plastered upon their face, they were so proud of themselves and most of all, they were proud to be the reason of your happiness.
Reflex kicked, both of your hands covered your mouth and your vision quickly became blurry from the pearls of tears gathering at the brim of your eyes. To say that you were happy was an understatement, you felt so moved, so touched that this whole surprise was for your birthd-
“Hold up, I thought it was mom’s birthday? Who’s the cake for?”
The look on Osamu’s face screamed “Someone hold me back before I kill this idiot with my bare hands.”
Kita threw a volleyball at the back of Atsumu’s head.
Suna was crying on the inside out of desperation.
Hitoshi was holding Osamu back.
The rest of the team eventually ganged up on Atsumu for even daring to forget their sweet angel’s birthday while you were standing there, dumbfounded to say the least, torn between crying and laughing.
You didn’t even need to make Atsumu pay for his mistake, the team had made sure to make him pay for the next ten years (if I’m being generous.)
So... Happy birthday... I guess?

Delicate steel.
Chapter 3.
Lately, she felt worse than usual and listening to the words of the teachers, Rachel knew that she should listen, or at least not be distracted, but all she had the strength to do was just slowly watch from the side as her brain turns off and her soul leaves her mind. It was a strange state of emptiness. If only old death would mock her, taking away, then returning life and watching it as if it were a scene from a TV series. Rachel just snorted at the flow of bad thoughts. But no matter how much Roth tried to deny reality, reality did not want to leave her and Raven had to admit to herself that after unsuccessful attempts...she's getting worse.
Rachel barely flinched when the disgusting ringing of the school bell reached her ears and shivered again, shifting in her chair. It was chemistry, this subject had never caused Raven any problems or not ligaments, but now she frowned at the barely completed test and in one quick movement shoved it into the pile of others, wondering what would happen after. The figure should not worry Rachel much, but for some reason she felt like a fool.
Raven clucked disapprovingly at her behavior, attracting the attention of some people. If she's going to keep whining, she should at least wait until she gets home. She looked around the audience, stumbled upon the fact that half of the class had safely left the lesson, and the other was intensely discussing the test and finding nothing interesting for herself, pushing her chair back with a creak, began to collect things.
For some reason, this action aroused the silent interest of her classmates. They gave her a close look and Rachel was sure that she heard the word "Mouth and strange" several times in their sentences, but decided to keep it to herself, only smiling with one corner of her lips at this. She was quite calm in such situations. Rachel never tried to have communication with someone and this was the norm in her behavior, even when it caused disapproval from society, she simply allowed people to call herself a country. The only mistake in the conversations at the last school made much to be desired and left some scars on her, so Raven with firm confidence did not want to repeat this. Rachel winced wearily, feeling a subtle tingle in her temples and she stopped in the doorway of the classroom.
Of course, we didn't need Rachel Roth's migraine for a full ass.
======
The road to the house took no more than half an hour and Raven breathed a sigh of relief when she saw a white fence in front of her and a strange garden gnome who reminded her of a homeless man. She slipped through the fence, hoping that she did not fall under the attention of her very sensitive neighbor, Mrs. Rogers, who considered it her civic and even heroic duty to monitor every plot standing on the street. Rachel glanced at the windows in the neighbor's house, noticing that the lights were not on anywhere and mentally thanked God for such luck.
Mrs. Rogers was a plump lady, in the very, as she herself said, the dawn of strength and energy, with a rather fancy nachos on her head resembling a poodle. She had narrow blue eyes, but she always looked at everyone with a squint that seemed from a distance it was only two blue stripes. She had a button-up nose, like the most aristocratic lady, and she always kept white gloves on the belt of her floral dresses. In general, she was such a not very kind, but very curious woman with an overestimated sense of elegance and royal chic. So when Mrs. Rogers saw Rachel on the eve of the party in shabby jeans and a stretched T-shirt and Oh my God!without a bra, it seemed to the girl that she was declared war without any warning.
For this reason, now the Mouth was trying very hard not to catch her eye. She didn't care much about this woman's opinion, she always felt like talking to her during an interrogation and wondered if other people had the same thing, but it was easier to get around the problem than listening to an hour-long monologue about how Lady should behave.
Rachel darted across the yard just as quickly, almost hitting a flower pot and killing lilies, when the front door finally closed behind her. She cast a frown at her sneakers, with the remaining pieces of earth from the battle with the lilies, and was reaching to take them off when she heard her mother's voice coming from the kitchen. - Ria, is that you? She heard her mother talking to Ben in the kitchen, too quietly for Rachel to hear, but enough to arouse suspicion and the girl mentally tensed. From the kitchen there was a variety of different smells of food and it was quite strange for an ordinary Friday. Rachel finished with her shoes and was about to dive to the second floor, annoying herself on the topic of why her mother was so prepared, when the doorbell rang behind her, and voices were heard on the street. She could recognize this voice from a thousand others.
Oh, no.
Mrs. Rogers.
Raven was ready to literally howl with despair.
Angela came around the corner in time, dressed in a blue dress and with perfectly smoothed brown hair, which was a rarity, and clicked disapprovingly at her daughter's martyred expression. - Don't make such a plaintive look, honey, yesterday I told you that I invited our neighbors to our house for dinner. - Rachel stupidly patted her eyes looking at her mother. Mrs. Roth's eyes narrowed menacingly. - Just don't you dare say that you forgot. Raven batted her lashes again, but her mind was still racing.
Oh, yes, that day you decided to listen to Rachel Roth.
- We will talk about this topic again, young lady. - her mother finished sternly, and Raven realized that her death was close and was willing to at least die at the hands of her own mother than from the chatter of Mrs. Rogers. Angela pulled a smile to her ears, rushed to open the door to the guests. Rachel wearily lowered her gaze to the floor and her eyes involuntarily widened. Hands.
Fuck.
Rachel continued to pick at the vegetable stew with her fork, remotely listening to the conversations of adults. It had been an hour since their friendly neighborly gatherings and Raven was ready to personally dig a secret passage with a spoon to escape. At first, she received a contemptuous look from Mrs. Rogers, then she found out that Mr. Rogers was quite silent and neutral in his behavior, which Raven immediately liked, the next shock was that this woman has a child and even more, the same age as Rachel, and this gave way to a conversation on the topic " They will become friends!".
Raven lifted a despondent gaze from her plate and looked at the opposite side. Amelia Rogers. Yes, if Rachel imagined her neighbor's child, then everything was not so sad in her thoughts. Her curly blonde hair was pulled back into a tight bun and tied with a pink bow, a white cardigan, a mint knee-length skirt from probably Grandma Raven's time, and shoes. A set like from the TV series Poirot for some flower seller whose husband died on the same flowers. Not that Raven was the one who judged people by their clothes, but she judged by Mrs. Rogers. She carefully watched how Amelia sits, sometimes says something quietly, and then buries herself in her plate. Rachel couldn't stand it. Mrs. Rogers didn't even stop watching the girl as she ate.
Probably in my mind calculating whether she holds her elbow at the right angle.
The thought made Rachel chuckle softly, and she immediately regretted it when Mrs. Rogers ' narrowed gaze fell on her. Raven swallowed hard. She was ready to sink through the ground even if only to avoid the beginning tragedies from this look.
- Mrs. Roth, I heard from Amelia that your daughter has become one of the best students in the school in such a short time. - Rachel appeared, or she heard the teeth of this stone woman grinding. She cast a quick glance at Angela, who was smiling broadly like any mother, pleased with the praise of her child, looked at Amelia sitting in front of her, holding her breath, and mentally groaned. This was the beginning of a great tragedy.
- Yes, Rachel can be proud in this regard. Studying has always been quite easy for her. Raven smiled tightly at her mother, hoping that everyone present would believe this, but she continued to watch Mrs. Rogers carefully from under her brows. She looked sternly at her daughter, pursing her lips, seeming to accuse her of something that was clear only to them, and Rachel frowned. And what was that just now?
- It's wonderful, it's great when children spend time studying. Angela would have liked to put in a word, but Mrs. Rogers continued sweetly without paying attention to her. - Although, when I first saw Rachel, I did not think that Amelia meant her. - The woman smiled sweetly, covering her rather unpleasant words and sipped her tea as if nothing had happened. - Jeans, a split T-shirt and hair...I will always be categorical against an unnatural hair color and I could not even imagine that this girl would overtake my daughter over the past few weeks. Raven was sorry she hadn't put laxatives in her tea. She looked at her mother, who was taken aback for a moment, not knowing how to react to these words, but then she caught herself and tried to put a friendly tone in her voice. "Rachel, honey, would you be so kind as to show Amelia your room?" At the sound of her name, Amelia jerked her head up and looked at Rachel for the first time. Roth thought she saw a flicker of interest in her eyes. Rei nodded dryly to her mother and did not even look at the guests as she left the table. Raven waited for Amelia to follow her before leading her to her room on the second floor.
As soon as the door to her room closed, Rachel wasn't the only one who breathed a sigh of relief. - Fuck.
Fuck.
Raven did not immediately realize that these words came from the mouth of that sunny girl Amelia. Who had not uttered a word at the table under the gaze of her mother and who was now sitting impressively cross-legged on her bed. Amelia continued in a tone that didn't match her outfit at all. "Sometimes?" Raven arched a questioning eyebrow at her, receiving a short laugh from the girl in response. She shook her head thoughtfully, and then smiled wryly. - Okay, always. - Amelia.. - Amy. Call me Amy. I can't stand being called Amelia. after a pause, she added cheerfully. - I feel like a flower in a flower bed. Raven smiled with one corner of her lips. She liked Amy better than Amelia.
Amy stood up, her eyes caught on the poster on the wall and smiled.
- I'm glad to find someone in this hole who appreciates the Rolling Stones band. Amy Rogers is always at your service. she held out her hand to Rachel in a friendly gesture, and Roth returned the gesture. She smiled wryly, looking at this handshake, but inwardly shuddered with panic and mental pleading. Her heart began to beat faster, and Raven swallowed hard, unlike Amy, her palm was not so perfect. Raven hoped that this would go unnoticed by her new friend.
- Rachel Ariella Roth. But you can call me Raven. - she saw a playful smile flash across the face of her new friend.
- Wow. I thought they called me shit. Rachel rolled her eyes at this comment, her palm remained in Amy's grip and she still felt the tension in the muscle from this contact. She noticed how Amy was carefully examining her from head to toe, lingering on Raven's hair, which was scattered around her shoulders in disarray, and was already ready for another portion of ridicule.
- And to be honest, the hair fell off the heads. Is it pink? Or purple? My conservative maman will probably allow me to paint mine only in the next life. - Amelia continued cheekily, releasing her hand from her mouth and from her grip and sitting down on the bed again, tucking her legs under her. Raven hoped that Amy didn't hear her soft sigh and glanced at her palm, crossed her arms over her chest. She swallowed convulsively, thanking God that everything was fine.
- It's not paint. Raven cleared her throat, and Amy stared at her questioningly, eager for an answer. Rachel already mentally regretted that she continued this topic, and did not say her usual "oh,yes". But to some extent, she really liked Amy, which is already difficult to do, especially considering that they have only known each other for a couple of hours and it will not be possible to return their words. - I was born with this hair color. - Cool. Amy said in surprise, but immediately grabbed the phone when the melodious symphony of the bell rang. Raven smiled to herself. She was sure that Mrs. Rogers had chosen the bell. Roth saw a flash of displeasure on Amy's face and she made a displeased grimace at Raven. - Yes, Mom...I got it, okay, I'm already going down. - Amy dropped the call, muttering something else into the phone with displeasure, and Rachel could almost feel how she swore so dirty. Amy jumped to her feet deftly, straightening her skirt and straightening up, smoothly walked past Rachel. - Well, what? Do I look like my maman? Amy asked, twirling her eyebrows merrily. - No...and this is good. - Amelia laughed. - I like you, Raven. - she said honestly, and Raven stared at her stupidly, having no idea how to react. - It was nice to meet you, I hope I'll see you at school tomorrow?
Rachel smiled softly at this and nodded curtly. Amy seemed satisfied with this answer, and with a parting wink at Raven, she headed for the exit. Just as she was leaving the threshold and closing the door, Amelia suddenly stopped and nodded at the box in the corner of the room. - And what happened to the mirror? Rachel swallowed dryly and suddenly felt like she was running out of air. - I squeezed my mouth out of myself, and bit the inside of my cheek, trying to show something like a smile.
======
Last night, she found herself really looking at her figure in front of the mirror. Her skin became several shades lighter, even having a natural dead pallor and convinced that there was nowhere else to go on white, Rachel looked at herself in the mirror with mute surprise, noting how ghostly and angular her body had become.
Not that she considered herself an ideal of beauty before, no, Raven was normal, and her hair was quite abnormal, it was a riot of colors from the roots to the tips, but now it was strangely frightening to look at her body and not recognize it in the reflection of the mirror. Her numerous tattoos contrasted so vividly with her skin that they seemed to glow with black funnels and Rachel was unable to understand and determine the time when her body became alien to her.
The girl gently ran her fingertips along the curves of her body, circled the roughly protruding collarbones, followed the bone on her wrist with her eyes, and with a contemptuous grimace, pulled her hand away as if from fire. It was painful, scary, and completely unexpected to look at myself.
It's disgusting.
The sarcastic voice of reason sweetly reminded her that this was her handiwork, it was only her own fault, bothering and bothering her every day, it seemed with the sole purpose of driving her crazy and Rachel got angry. Her fists clenched involuntarily, and her knuckles turned white from such pressure, and in the dry silence of the night room, the wet sound of blood drops hitting the tile was cut through. Raven looked down at the floor and bit her lip, feeling the salty taste of tears and tried her best to restrain the plaintive moan that was ready to break from her lips as emotions one by one flooded over her. She frowned, opened and closed her eyes, squinted and threw her head to the ceiling, as if trying to bring back tears from shame, from guilt and excitement, from a caustic feeling of euphoria, but she continued to feel stupid. Oh, Gods, she was so stupid. What happened in the past should not matter in the future. She kept repeating it to herself throughout the whole evening, like a memorized mantra.
And she almost believed it, picking up the fragments of the bloody mirror from the floor.

A/N: Everyone, care to explain why shit leaks out of me over here, instead of using it to study?? Probably, my brain is like: “I’m in refusal to do anything else, so just shut your mouth, and-”... Anyway, here is a little inspiration I got yesterday, under the shower (yes!! I know!!), and I decided to write it down today. It may or may not be cohesive - sorry! Hope you enjoy guys (:
Summary: The traumatic experience shows that commitments and choices bring up responsibilities for themselves. In an attempt to prove the rightness of this conviction, Voldemort forces Draco to make the next complex and life-changing decisions.
Word count: 1.1k
Warnings: a lot of injuries; death(!); language (very little of swearing, so congrats to me!); sexual allusions; crudeness; violence; Unforgivable curses; the dark themes; sooo angsty

Her insides were burning.
The body felt as if it was on fire, with every flame slowly and unbearably torturing each of her… well, everything.
Her throat was far too dry to be so-called on the regular standard, and was asking for an evident need of water; the eyes were watering with the same speed as the emotional roller-coaster she was undergoing through at this moment; the heart was pumping too much blood to her veins, making her head dizzy enough for her not being able to think clearly; the breath was rapid and shallow, and even if she had known what she wanted to say, it surely wouldn't have allowed her to do so; also the bone-breaking impression could be, as well, considered as one of the factors influencing on the sanity.
And the feelings she was experiencing? Helplessness, sorrow, and something similar to dejection. Perhaps, it was a realization of the final end that was about to show up soon.
The vision was way too blurry to let her see and get hanging on what was happening around her. Just the hearing was one and the only sense used as a hint on that she was still alive. Or, at least, she hopefully thought so.
“Please, make it stop!” Draco’s faint and breaking voice begged. It was so much different than a normal tone of her Draco’s she used to know. “I’ll do everything! Just make it… stop, please.”
Voldemort smiled broadly, revealing the slight part of his psychopathic nature and allowing view-access to his peculiarly yellowish teeth. “Young Draco, I want you to be well-aware of the consequences of the decisions you make next time. You did not obey the established rules and the task I have designated. And now the girl is suffering,” he laughed. “However, there is one proposition I could kindly persuade.”
Draco nodded merely for him to continue, his features expressing nothing else but supreme worry and anticipation on his words.
"Kill her," Voldemort demanded loudly, turning the wand around, in his slender fingers. Seeing as Draco's eyes widen with shock and at the absurd of this offer, the grin reappeared on his mouth. "Do as I say and spare her agony. Death caused by Crucio curse seems to be an extreme torment compared with simple Avada Kedavra."
The silence fell over, and the only sound heard in the room were quiet sobs coming out from the floor, where Y/N was laying. At the sight of the devastated state of the most relevant person in Draco's life, his heart felt as if broken into pieces. All he wanted to do was to run up to her curled on the ground body, taking it into a warm embrace and comforting her with the truth that everything had come up into the end.
But the truth it, unfortunately, wasn't. Or otherwise, not one he believed in anymore.
Draco shook his head. "I'm-I'm-" he stuttered, the gaze never leaving Y/N's figure. He tried to sound casual and failed completely. "It's impossible. I mean, I can't."
"Well, then - Crucio!" said a firm, deep voice, and the next surge of pain passed through Y/N, making the room fill with a rush of empty screams again. It was too much for her to endure.
"Stop, please. My Dark Lord, I swear I'll do eve-"
"Quiet boy!" hissed Voldemort, evidently coping with frustration at Draco's defensive attitude. "You have undertaken the task, in which the accomplishment was unsuccessful. Resolutions require choices, and choices need responsibility for themselves. So now, do as I say or enjoy the show of the girl's misery."
Draco ceased talking, seemingly making up his mind that it wasn’t worth arguing any longer on the matter. He tightly clenched his jaw, hating a little clutching in the chest at the imagination on what was about to happen and at the flashback of memories from previous years.
And a few things flitted through his brain, try as he might to suppress them.
The pair of the lips, their lips, synchronously moving along.
His pale hands wandering all over her soft skin, trailing small circles on her back, then quickly finding their way on her outer hips and her minty breath pleasantly tingling hair on the back of his neck.
A whisper, his own, half-subtle and half-assured: "I fucking love you."
A giggle in his ear, hers, accompanied with an answer, short and careless as if nothing mattered, and yet so meaningful to these days: "I fucking love you too, Dray."
Every recollection of those words and moments, after all, made him realize how ungrateful he had been for never truly appreciating this precious time he had had with her; for fulfilling his life with happiness that he couldn't thank her for enough. Bloody egocentric prick.
"I'm impatient, boy," Draco heard from behind. And indeed, as he turned, Voldemort was. Sauntering around with Nagini following shortly after his black cloak, he was still twirling the yew-wand around, and there was no bigger necessity than glancing briefly sideways to register radiating blinding rage.
Draco, for the first time, looked so pale and grimly. All of his attention was entirely focused on Y/N, attempting to memorize her beautiful face, as a photograph, for last. He stayed rotted to the ground, gulping, whilst Y/N shrank, letting out the small groans of pain induced by all the injuries on her body and not well-taking to the situation. "Could I just say a proper goodbye to her?"
"There is no need for that, boy," Voldemort answered before Draco could barely finish his sentence. Clearly, he had come up to the edge between boredom and irritability at the played out love-display he was taking part in. "It is your ultimate chance."
Draco blinked. As he was told and taught -by his parents- while developing his Death Eater skills, it was sometimes easier to try to have part of your brain switch on and off, if it was about... solving matters. Something just like a detachment, helping through emotional-muddling; an ability to approach to action matter-of-factly, clearing out with redundant thoughts, and just doing things that were required to be done. It was useful, his mother proclaimed, when it was about saving himself or beloved ones from affliction.
And that's what he did now.
"It was a pleasure knowing you," he said in a brisk, distanced tone; and before she could say those words back; before she could get a snatch of the intensive-green light being released out of his wand; before he could fall apart, crying out for forgiveness.
Final blank.

No, I don't wanna fall in love
I really like this scene, but I never finished writing it, so I did it yesterday :)
James stayed focused on his potion, trying not to notice how close Mira was, and that when she moved her head, her hair brushed against him, as well as sometimes her arms beat and he felt a shiver run down his spine. They hadn't talked, in fact, the two seemed to ignore the fact that last weekend, they were almost swallowing up behind the Three Broomsticks. And it disturbed him.
The next day, James waited for Mira in the Common Room at dawn, they had all gone to see Hedite, as well as walking around the castle with Blanca while she was doing the rounds as Prefect, but the blonde did not come down from the room after they arrived, no matter how much he had implied that he wanted to speak to her.
On the other days, every time he tried to be alone with Mira, something happened, even Lily appeared to interrupt them, wanting his help on something to do with the flight lesson, a perfect excuse the girl found to escape.
He should be angry, as he was when Rosalia did it, but differently from the other time, this James was sad.
Their friendship had not been spoiled, not least because she was there, always beside him, but now everything seemed as before, and inside him, nothing was as it was before. How could it be? Kissing Mira was an almost otherworldly experience, his neurons barely knew how to organize themselves in the brain for hours -days-, there was no way to just move on as if it were just something stupid that had happened, like flying upside down.
Unlike what happened with Rosalia, James liked to go out with Mira and kiss her, he wanted to continue, do that again, repeat until his mouth fell, at the same time that he wanted to jump from the Astronomy Tower, because he felt so affected thus. It was exhausting, to say the least.
Yesterday, while he and the boys were studying in an empty room and she played the piano, he wondered what would happen if he kissed her again. It was masochism after all, so he chose to make up an excuse to get out of the room and help Lily learn to fly.
'What do we do? Do you want to study?' They were walking towards the Common Room, it was after eight when Michael and Piper had to follow Johann in detention, looking like two Azkaban inmates, and James was left with Mira (Blanca had gone to talk to McGonagall about something from her OWL's).
'I thought we were going to Hog's Head, to get a beer,' she commented, adjusting the Ghost Tears blouse out of her pants, the clothes bigger than her body and falling almost close to her thighs, while the red cap with a white pompom held her hair. 'What do you think?’
'Wanting to break the rules, Hazel?' James joked, and her black eyes rolled over, as a muffled laugh came out and her hand pushed his shoulder.
'Are we going or not? Because I can go alone.' She replied, in her usual way, lifting her chin to look tough while raising her eyebrow and looking at him as if she measured two heads more than she did, which made him laugh and nod, giving the password for the Fat Lady and letting it pass through the portrait hole first.
They prepared as they did in the old days, he took the cloak and the map just for security, she spent time around the Room, and they went out together carrying some bag - it was never good to leave empty-handed, unless you wanted someone to think that you went out to make out.
'I think Beth and Michael broke up.' The two hid by the cloak before going through the passageway that left at Honeydukes, since going straight to the pub was never a good option.
‘Man, don’t step on the cloak,’ James had to keep her close, much more than necessary, but all because of the cause, they couldn’t be caught. ‘They didn’t break up, they were kissing today.’ Why did she want to talk about their friend's relationship and not theirs? Girls... ‘Mira-’
'James.' She interrupted him. The two stopped, in the gloom of the cramped passage, only a faint light coming from the cracks in the wood on the floor, too close for James to think of anything other than kissing her. 'You first,' Mira said.
'No, you.' He would have to have at least five minutes to remember what he wanted to talk about, or more, her scent was getting strong on his nose and it confused him.
'I'm sorry for not talking to you about ... you know, the kiss.' Was Mira really blushing or was he imagining that? James wanted to be the cause of her blushing? He hated himself for thinking so.
'Huh ... ok.' The words seemed to have slipped from the brain, James was a little anxious. 'We are fine?'
'I think so, don't you?' Mira looked around, and then at him again. Her eyes almost disappeared in the darkness, but maybe his brain wouldn't be able to ignore them and complete them in his mind, anyway, they were a beautiful pair of black holes.
‘Yes.’ The height difference, however small, along with the proximity made him almost hit his chin on her nose whenever he moved his head, but he didn’t want to move away, not at all. James thought about saying many more things, or saying nothing and just kissing her. It was ridiculous how nervous she made him. 'Can I ask you something?'
'No,' James laughed, watching her turn forward and leave under the cloak. 'Let’s go, I want my beer.' Mira was the first to climb the narrow staircase, taking a good look at the store before nodding and sneaking out. He followed, still a little dizzy from how close they had come and how her citrusy smell had made him stay in the clouds. James threw the cloak back on it as soon as he finished closing the passage, looking both ways and seeing that everyone was far away and talking, seeming to pack up the new sweets that had arrived.
'You didn't even know what I was going to ask,' he said, and the two went out the back, the wind whirling in the half-empty village, looking a lot like the last time they were in that alley.
'It's less scary without your dad pointing a wand at our face,' She said, remembering the same day as James, and he nodded 'And of course I know, you're predictable, Potter.' It was not colder than the last few days, they still wore a scarf and gloves, some people even wore the thick, heavy boots their father wore when going on a mission in an absurdly cold place, some said it was the biggest cold front in years. James regretted not having wrapped up better before leaving.
‘What would I say then?’ His fingers were frozen and aching inside his coat pocket.
'That you are sorry for everything and-'
'Wrong.' He interrupted, Mira turned her head like a crow, blinking her eyes. 'I'm not sorry.' James shrugged, taking care to stay away from others, even if invisible. There weren't many people and the stores were still open, but it was always bad to run into someone.
'No?' He had to pull her by the sleeve to keep walking, Mira looked a little shocked by his revelation, but James tried not to take it to the staff as she looked shocked, as if it was even a bad thing he had liked to kiss her.
'Why would I feel it?' The Hog's Head seemed far away now and the air was heavy, but James remained steady, walking with his head held high. If she said that she didn't like it, or that he kissed badly, or anything ... Merlin, he should have said yes, that he was sorry.
'I don't know ... we are friends,' she said, and James thought it was a good point to remember, some nights his head seemed to forget that important fact. ‘What did you mean by that?’
‘We’re here,’ he said, ignoring her question. Before entering, they left the cloak, taking care not to be seen. 'Good night Mary.' The woman was cleaning the old counter, a goat standing next to her eating something that looked more like hay and a yellowish paste, and as always, it was empty at that time.
'Good night kids... shouldn't they be at school?' Abertnorth, the owner, was no longer down there, which was good, since he never liked James to appear, unlike Mary, who smiled and was kind.
'Just an escape,' Mira commented, sitting down on one of the high stools in front of the clean counter. 'You know how it is ... with the OWL’s coming and everything.' James sat next to her, leaving considerable space between their arms.
'Where are the other three?' Since last year, the five have always fled to that pub when they needed beer, or just go outside, making friendly faces for Mary to give them a few bottles before returning.
'Detention,' James said, and the woman, with auburn and short hair, raised her eyebrows and denied it, looking discredited.
'I can hardly imagine why ... The same as always?' They nodded and smiled excitedly, while the redhead disappeared to the back, preparing drinks for them to take (they always said they drank near the Shrieking Shack, just so that Mary wouldn't feel horrible for letting students smuggle something at Hogwarts).
‘Blanca and I-’
'It means that I enjoyed kissing you.' The two spoke at the same time, James completing the thought before his mind analyzed the situation well, taken by the urge to speak the truth. Mira's black eyes blinked at him, too big. It was so suffocating to look at Mira at those moments.
‘Oh…’ That was it, he kissed badly, there was no other explanation for someone making that face, but it was Hazel, the girl who looked like a potato every time something involved her feelings, and the thought made James have a little hope.
‘What does that mean?’ He asked, and he didn’t want to be irritated, but he was already clenching his teeth and feeling overwhelmed. Where's Mary with the beers?
‘What the fuck James, we’re friends!’
‘I am well aware of that Hazel, thank you.’ His molars would break soon, if he kept squeezing them like that.
'Don't be dramatic, Potter, you started it,' Mira pointed out. He rolled his eyes, pulling on his hair and feeling stupid. James thought he should have listened when Michael said that Mira would not want to be with him, and that it would end the group.
'Again, I'm well aware of that.' Mira sighed, denying and squeezing the Cat's Eye pendant that was hidden under her clothes, as she always did when she was nervous.
'Here, kids.' Mary dropped the two bottles on the counter, properly packed and safe, smiling affectionately. James insisted on paying, they talked a little more with the woman (neither of them seemed to want to face each other), and then, putting the bottles in the bag and hiding under the cover after leaving the pub, the two started their way back to Hogwarts.
There had been no conversations this time, the two were silent as death all the way, jumping into the Shrieking Shack, empty and dirty as always, because it was much easier to go back there after Honeydukes closed. James wanted to scream, ask her to say something, hit him, scream, do anything. He wanted to hear something.
But he didn't, he walked beside her as usual, they passed through the snow-white gardens and then they started up the stairs. The corridor to the Tower was empty and there was no one around, so they shed the cloak, which for him was even worse since Mira seemed to want to be as far away from him, eyes steady on the way.
Congratulations James, now you've screwed up, he thought.
The Fat Lady seemed to look at them expectantly, smiling as she watched them both approach and James felt comforted to see her seem sad by the silence, opening the portrait with no joke about the two disappearing together or anything else. In the Common Room, the girl's head seemed to almost smoke out of thinking, and she threw herself into one of the armchairs near the window she liked so much, taking off her cap and scarf, carefully opening the bag. They were not alone in the room, but there were not many people, some younger students here and there, too entertained in their conversations or in the music they played, to worry about both.
Throwing himself on the couch next to her, and placing Amethyst who came to greet them, Mira's cat, in his lap to have something to do with his hands, James wanted to get out of there, still feeling suffocated by the feeling that had ruined everything. It was excruciating, he didn't want to have feelings, no, he didn't even want to meet Hazel right now.
That was a lie, but he could be fooled into thinking that if he didn't know her, he wouldn't be suffering - but who's to say that his life wouldn't be miserable? Mira was the most fun person James had ever met.
'What did you mean by that?' Mira asked again, she didn't look him in the face, paying full attention to the sly cat on his lap, with her only eye closed and purring, it was good, after all not having the attention to you. James felt a little foolish to think that if Mira looked at him, he would say everything he had been hiding for almost three months.
'What I said.' James bent down to pick up one of the bottles from the bag, thanking them that they were away from the rest, and then opened it and took a big sip, his sandy throat thanking him for some liquid.
'Potter, we are friends. Best friends.’ It became sore the more she repeated it.
'You kissed me too.' His stomach clenched with anxiety. 'Was it bad?' James asked, not wanting to know the answer, at the same time that he couldn't help but ask.
'What?' Her eyes finally went up to him, her eyebrows high and her pale cheeks turned a reddish color, the beer in his hand was sweating cold and James was squeezing the bottle harder, trying to control all the emotions that seemed to want to suffocate him.
'It was bad. The kiss. Because, okay, we’re friends, but that can’t be your only justification, I just said that I liked what we did and it looks like I said I want to marry you.’
'Here you go again with this.' Mira rolled her eyes, looking irritated.
'Don't even start Hazel, answer the fucking question.' James also got angry, getting even more nervous, hyperactivity dominating all his senses, he felt vulnerable, like when Albus made him cry when they were kids and he hid from his parents so they wouldn’t see it.
'No. Merlin, James, no.' She messed up her blond strands, settling on the couch a little further away from him, and looking at the window that reflected the dark night outside, he waited. 'I don't want our friendship to end.' Mira looked at him.
'It's not over, at least I don't think so.' James shrugged, trying to look as unaffected as possible, but his monster wanted to break his rib cage and run away from that room.
'I'm sorry.' She rubbed her face in her hands, and Amethyst chose that moment to jump off James' lap, looking at him as if she blamed him, before going to her owner, as if she wanted to comfort her. ’I don’t want you to think about these things, but .. James, it’s too much for me to think about.’
'I think we're in it.' The silence was unbearable again, as he plucked the damp paper around the beer bottle in his hand and she paid attention to the cat, as if she also wanted to escape. 'I don't know what to think,' he admitted, after a while.
'Are we still friends?' She asked again, but this time, James could see in her eyes that Mira seemed very concerned about this, as he also felt when he thought of her in an unfriendly way.
'We never stopped being, Mira,' James assured, and she nodded, looking back at the cat. 'From 0 to 10-'
'I'm not going to answer that.' The blonde laughed nervously, denying and blushing as James followed her laugh, at least the tense moment seemed to have subsided momentarily. He thought he shouldn’t be so pleased that he made her blush and laugh like that, but he did.
'You don't even know what I was going to say.' James defended himself.
'I will not give a grade for your kiss, it is better not to even try.' Mira at least did not look angry, still smiling when she looked at him.
‘Ah, I’d really like to know,’ The silence returned and the boy didn’t even think before speaking; 'In case you want to know, it was 10.' He moved his shoulders and took another sip of his beer, also feeling flushed.
‘I don’t believe it, do you go around scoring everyone’s kiss?’ She was red, but she looked more confident than before.
'No, just for yours.' James blinked and smiled, happy to be able to disguise how nervous he felt, barely managing to control her hand before bringing it to her hair.
Neither said anything else, they drank their beers in silence, both of them looking lost in their own thoughts. He wanted to tell someone, Teddy took too long to answer and he also couldn't be bombarded by James' crude questions, he wanted to be able to tell Albus at least, or his father ... He could tell his father, as embarrassing as that was, he knew the man would give his opinion and help him, but perhaps his father thought it was very stupid that James interrupted his work to help him with his loving questions. Maybe at Easter they could talk.
'Let's forget about it.' Mira was the first to speak, dropping the beer next to her on the floor and running a hand through her blond hair.
'Come on, Hazel, I just said that your kiss is a score of 10, how would I forget that? It's not even an option,' he said, a little anxious that Mira wanted to forget the kiss while James wanted to kiss her until he lost all of the air in his lungs.
'We are friends.' Mira stared at him with big, dark eyes, looking at least ashamed, her cheeks flushed like two peppers. ‘I don’t want to ruin this.’
'But we are not ruining anything, you are the one who is saying this.' James defended himself, trying at all costs not to look flustered.
'We can't even be together in the same room without you looking awkward, and we can't even look at each other.' Redness ran down her cheeks, running down her neck and ears, and James wanted to throw himself off the tower because he thought she looked adorable .
'I can't look at you because I want to kiss you again, and every time it feels like I'm running out of breath and that I'm only going to breathe if we do it again. That's why I can't look at you. Besides, it was you who ran away from me in the last few days.’
'All of this is so confusing.' Mira hid her face in her hands, her hair falling beside her hands, the golden locks shining with the candlelight and the fireplace burning. ‘James…’
'If you say that we are friends again, it will hurt my ego, I swear.' James swallowed. 'Look, if you want ... if you want this to be just a slip, if, I don't know, you want to forget all of that, it's fine.' He felt his stomach churn, as if something inside him broke.
'You said you didn't want to forget.' Mira looked at him, her head still in one hand, her eyes as always seeming to send James into that hole where he felt suffocated, lost in feelings he couldn't name.
'But you keep reminding me that we are friends, so I believe that is what you want.' He shrugged, pretending to be okay with that. 'It's fine by me.'
'You’re sure? James, please- ’
'It's all right, Mira.' He smiled, placing the empty beer bottle and the label all wrecked by his nervous hands, next to hers on the floor, getting up and picking up the map and cloak, feeling anxious. ‘Tomorrow we have training early, don’t go to sleep late, you know that Helen hates delays.’
‘I like you, don’t be weird with me, please.’ Her hand cupped his, black eyes pleading.
'We are fine, Hazel, I promise,' James assured, even though his chest seemed to break into a million more pieces.
‘Why don’t you stay here? The boys are still going to take a while .. ’
'I need to finish my Potions essay, and if Michael knows that I took his to copy, I won't have peace for the rest of the week.' James smiled, squeezing her hand just once before releasing it, feeling suddenly empty. ‘Good night, Hazel.’
'Night, Potter.' James didn't look back, his ego aching, making him scowl to his room, ready to hide under the covers and ignore the outside world. He didn't even care about the essay anymore, he wanted everything to explode around him now that Mira had dismissed him.
He felt like an idiot for having tears in his eyes when he fell on the bed, forcing himself not to cry for a girl, even if that girl was his best friend and James had fantasized several times how things would occur when they talked about the kiss. Thinking that she was going to say that she also kept thinking about kissing him, and then they would be together, kissing for as long as they could.
James narrowed his eyes to wipe away the tears, hating that the scent of her perfume was on his shirt, as if Mira was there beside him, lying with him, as James had dreamed a few times in the past few weeks.
How many times did he think and remember what Mira looked like after they kissed, her cheeks pink and her hair messed up by his hands, her lips pink like when she ate strawberries. James still remembered the feeling of her kiss, of her hands in his hair, of her tongue dancing with his in a sync that James thought was perfect ... He felt like an idiot for being attracted to her.
For a second, he thought of calling his father in the mirror, just to have somebody to talk and feel less alone than he felt, maybe he and Harry could talk about the Easter vacation schedule, or maybe James would tell him that he had been feeling for Mira… But it made no sense to tell, not after she made it clear that they were just friends.
His chest burned, as did his watery eyes, when he looked at the photo he kept on the table beside the bed, of the two of them together at the ball, Mira wearing her beautiful blue dress, the constellation dancing across the fabric, while she looked more dazzling than ever, smiling from ear to ear when James pinched her waist, just to make her laugh.
The book she had given him for Christmas/birthday was there, where it always was, and just because James liked suffering, he picked it up, reading her well-drawn handwriting on the back cover:
'If I had another best friend, I would hit him and go after you.
I love you.
Mira. ’
Best friend. That's what they were, and James knew he should be thankful that Mira hadn't told him to stay away from her forever. But James couldn't do that now, not when he felt like a complete idiot.

He loves me, he loves me not…
Those were the same words that you kept repeating for a few days now, a flower representing if the man you have a crush on likes you back. To any other person, it seems stupid that a flower will judge your love life but you heartily disagree. Flowers and love have always been associated with one another and from a viewpoint, it makes sense on why picking petals off of flowers can determine your fate with the person you love.
Jung Hoseok. You two knew each other but at the same time you didn’t. The first time you two caught each other’s eyes was during elementary school. He was one of the popular kids: with his cheery smile, bubbly personality, and warm aura, nearly everyone became friends with him. You, on the other hand, were more of a wallflower. You only had a few close friends and you spent your time reading books instead of playing games. Some people call you boring but who cares about them.
During recess in 1st grade, you decided to read in the middle of the field. It seemed ideal, the grass was green and the sky was a beautiful shade of blue. There wasn’t even a cloud in sight. All of a sudden, a soccer ball came speeding towards you and hit you straight-up in the head. You couldn’t remember what happened but when you opened your eyes, you saw a worried Hoseok hovering face-to-face on top of you in the nurse’s room.
“Y/N-ah! You’re okay! I’m so so sorry that I hurt you! I should’ve known you were there.”
“It’s okay. Uh, my head kind of hurts…”
“I’ll go get some ice for you!” When he passed the “ice bag” (which was basically a frozen paper towel), you felt a peculiar feeling. You didn’t know why but there were sparks when you grabbed the ice bag from him. What was it? Eventually, he had to leave for his classroom but when you were free to leave the nurse’s room, he offered to walk you to class. By then, you figured out what that feeling was. And it became a 12-year crush on the boy who hit you with a soccer ball.
Like some coincidence, both of you attended the same college together. You didn’t expect to see anyone from your school during your freshman orientation but when you saw the familiar sunshine smile, a wave of relief and fear washed over you.
Hoseok being the extrovert that he is made friends with nearly the whole campus, is in a sorority, and hosts the biggest parties the university has ever seen. You continued to be the loner that you were but luckily you found a close friend in Nayeon.
As you and Nayeon were strolling across campus, you saw Hoseok and his girlfriend talking and chattering with Starbucks in their hands. You felt a pit of jealousy in your stomach, internally yelling at yourself for not having the guts to tell him how you truly feel.
However, you expected him to go out with someone. He can’t stay single forever just for you because he barely knows you and your feelings. If he did, then you would move to another state out of embarrassment.
“Y/N, stop looking otherwise he’s going to think that you’re creepy!” Nayeon giggled, pushing you away from the couple. “Why won’t you ever talk to him?” “I can’t. We didn’t really interact during high school.” “Look, college is about starting a new life. Come on, you’re 18 now! You’re an adult! Don’t let your fears get in the way of having fun!” “Besides, they’re dating!”
“So? You can be friends with him!”
“Not now, I have class. I’ll see you around!” You made way inside the building and into your sociology class, the professor setting up his computer for a lecture. You didn’t know a lot of people here and the person who sat next to you dropped out.
All of a sudden, a guy with rainbow-styled clothes and a vibrant aura entered, giving a high-five to the professor and waving to your classmates. Your eyes widened, the man who has been invading your thoughts is actually in the same class with you.
Hoseok scanned the room for a place to sit, his face brightening when he saw an empty seat next to you. Your heart started to race, he’s actually going to sit next to you! “Oh, Y/N! I didn’t know you were in this class! I just got moved here and I’m so glad I found someone I know!”
“Yeah, uh, hi. I thought you were gonna sit with someone else.”
“Nah, actually I wanted to talk to you ever since orientation but I never saw you around. However, I saw you walking by and staring at me and Julia.” Oh, that’s his girlfriend’s name. Interesting.
“Heh...no..you didn’t see anything!” “You’re cute. I hope we have more classes together!” After everyone has settled in their seats, the professor started going on about the lesson but you couldn’t care less about what he had to say. The way Hoseok was so invested in the powerpoint but occasionally stopped to play games was more intriguing than whatever was going on. No, he must think you’re crazy. You snapped out of it and attempted to focus on the screen.
“From this week’s lesson, I am going to assign you all a project. Your will be grouped by pairs and they will be determined by the place you’re sitting in right now.” You internally counted down the pair of seats from the row you’re in and sure enough, you’re paired with Hoseok. He smiled at you, holding your hands excitedly. You obviously reciprocate the feeling but your head didn’t let you show it.
“Yay! We’re going to be doing our project together! This is going to be so fun!” You smiled and nodded, trying to come up with things to say but your mind was blank.
“W-wait, would your girlfriend be okay?” Wow Y/N, that’s the first thing that you say? Way to get your man.
“No, I think she’ll be chill. Besides, you’re like one of my childhood friends so it’s cool.” At least you’re a friend in his eyes.
The session ended 15 minutes later and you couldn’t wait to get out. As you quickly stuffed your books and laptop in your bag, Hoseok tossed a little airplane at your head.
“That’s my number if you want to talk about the project and...other stuff. If you’re free tomorrow, do you wanna get started? There’s a party I want to go to at the end of the week and I want to get this out of the way.” “Uh, sure. I’ll text you later,” you said shyly, zipping your bag up and exiting the room. You felt your body sweat and your heart pound rapidly. Your brain still can’t wrap around the fact that Hoseok sits next to you and you will be working on a project together.
“Hey, what’s up? You look like you just got out of a haunted house,” Nayeon said as you approached the familiar bench where the two of you always sat.
“Hoseok just transferred to my class, he sits next to me, and we’re doing a project together!” “Ooh, go get your man!”
“No no, this is bad! I always act so weird around him! Plus he wants us to work on it tomorrow! What should I do?” “First, relax. Take a deep breath,” Nayeon instructed, placing her hands on your shoulders as you slowed down your breathing. “Next, don’t worry about a thing. Try to push aside your feelings for him and talk to him as you would with another person.” “Only he’s my crush for about 12 years!”
“So? I know it must be awkward due to your feelings for him but if you act awkward, then you wouldn’t be close to him. And you want that, do you?” “Yeah…” “You got this, don’t worry!” Nayeon’s words gave you some hope and encouragement, which made you feel better. She was right, you can’t keep acting this way for long. Even though he was dating someone else, at least you’ll have him close as a friend, right?
You never told anybody this but you secretly kept a daisy and you picked off the petals every day. It was down to four petals and you decided to take two off.
He loves me, he loves me not.
However you didn’t want it to end with a negative note so you picked one last petal off.
He loves me.
The next day came and you were sitting at a local cafe, waiting for Hoseok to arrive. Since you arrived a few minutes early, you had enough time to go over what you want to say and if you look good enough.
Surprisingly, he came on time and even gave you a mini hug. You watched as he placed his bags on the ground and pulled out his laptop.
“Hi Y/N! I hope I didn’t keep you waiting.” “N-no, not at all! You came on time actually!” “Good, well do you want to order anything at first?” “Sure, I really want coffee right now!” As you two waited in line, you shyly gazed over at Hoseok who shined brighter than any sun in the world. You accidentally brushed his hand with yours, causing him to laugh.
“How come we didn’t talk much throughout high school? I can’t remember the last time I really talked to you except yesterday.” Hoseok asked, scanning the menu for a drink he’d like. “I don’t know, I guess we had different classes and you were more popular than me…” “But I would’ve been friends with you no matter what.”
“Would you? I’m not exactly the most popular girl in school.” “Yeah. You seem chill and it’s nice having a reserved friend against all my loud and hyper ones. I hope you take it as a compliment.” “Uh, I do. What are you gonna get?” “I’ll have a vanilla latte. It’s a classic but it’s iconic at the same time.” “I’ll get what you’re getting.” You watched him order and talk casually to the cashier, a common thing you’re scared of doing. It must be nice dating him, he sounds like the guy who can be the life of the party but still has an eye for you.
“Do you want me to pay for my-” “No, I shouldn’t have to make you pay. I mean they say the gentleman pays for the first study date,” he replied, swiping his credit card. Oh my god did he just say-
A few minutes later, the cashier gives you your drinks with your name scrabbled on the cupsleeve. You and Hoseok grabbed them at the same time, accidentally bumping together. You blushed at the proximity, jumping back with fear. Geez, why are you acting like this? You really are a fool.
An hour later and both of you made decent progress on your projects. Hoseok decided to take a break and scroll through his Instagram while you worked on some slides.
“Hey, Y/N, do I follow you on Insta?” “Uh, I’m not sure. I think so?” He checked his phone again, a frown on his normally joyful face. “No I don't. What’s your username?” “I’ll type it in for you.”
He nodded and passed you his phone. You quickly typed your user, hit the follow button, and went back to his profile. He had a lot of followers due to his popularity and personality, which shocks you considering that you’ve never met someone with over 5,000 followers.
“Y/N, ever since I saw you yesterday I wanted to get to know you. I feel bad that we barely interacted throughout high school and I want to make up for that. So just hit me with what you got.” He leaned forward, interested in hearing what you have to say.
Your mind immediately stopped working as you quickly tried to come up with an interesting conversation. And the only event you could think of was the time where he hit you with a soccer ball in elementary school.
“Actually Hoseok, we have known each other since we were 1st graders.”
“Really? Were you in my class back then? God, I can’t even remember what I had for lunch yesterday but you manage to remember that.” “Yeah, there was a time when I was reading out in the middle of the soccer field. I was the perfect target to be hit which is what you did. I don’t remember what happened after the ball smacked me in the face but when I woke up, I saw you waiting for me. You offered to give me ice and walk me back to class when my headache stopped. We barely saw each other after that but that was still one of the most significant moments in my life.” “Oh yeah, I still feel bad that I did that-” You took a deep breath, trying to work up the nerve to say what you’ve always wanted to say to him. It’s now or never, just do it!
“Hoseok, ever since that day, I’ve loved you since.” Your words shocked him, his mouth dropping open and his eyes the size of saucers. He tried to comprehend what you said when all of a sudden, you burst into tears.
You shouldn’t have said it, it was too soon. Your vision blurry of tears, you stuffed all your stuff in your bag and ran out of the cafe.
“Wait, Y/N! Wait! Hold on, we need to talk about this!” “I’m sorry Hoseok, I shouldn’t have-” “No, this is important! Y/N, look at me!” He spun you around and forced you to look at his face. You tried to blink away your tears and he quickly flicked them away.
“Y/N, are your feelings true? Did you love me for that long?”
You nodded slowly, tears threatening to spill from your eyes again. It was so scary waiting for him to either reciprocate those feelings or walk away.
All of a sudden, he gave you a kiss. And it wasn’t like any other peck, it was one full of want and passion. He quickly pulled away and gave you a tight hug.
“Thank you for telling me how you feel. And I like you back.”
He broke the hug and wrapped an arm around your shoulder as you two walked towards campus. You felt your heart slowly relax, he likes you as well! Maybe all that pining and worry was for nothing! “Y/N, it’s getting dark so do you want to stay at my dorm? I don’t have a roommate so it’s okay,” he said, heading the opposite direction from the path that leads to your dorms.
“Sure thing. It’s okay as well.” You were totally freaking out inside, you’re going INSIDE his dorm. After a few minutes, he opened the door and you carefully walked in, your nose wrinkling a bit. Iwas messy due to the overflowing trash bags full of takeout and beer bottles but overall it wasn’t too bad. You hung your bag on a random coat stand full of jackets and baseball caps. There was a blanket and a pillow on his couch where you could possibly stay.
“Sorry if it doesn’t look too appealing, I’m kind of lazy to clean my room,” he sighed, stuffing the full bags in a random corner. You shook your head, carefully sitting down on his couch. Hoseok sat down next to you, loosely laying his hand around your shoulders.
“So, what do you want to do Y/N?” “I’m not sure. Is it bad that I want to stay like this?” “No, I do too.” He moved closer to you, your bodies touching and you felt heat rise up to your cheeks. You lied down on your back and you felt his presence above you as he slowly leaned closer to you. “Do you want to do this?” You couldn’t think of the right words to say, were you really about to do it with your crush? It’s now or never, Y/N. This is the moment you’ve been waiting for.
“It’s okay, I want to do it. But I’m not experienced in this type of stuff,” you confessed.
“Then I’ll teach you. I’ll go slow with you, I promise.” He kissed you again, the same feeling like the one outside. It was slow and romantic, just the way you imagined. He probed his tongue in front of your mouth, asking for entrance to which you let him in. Hoseok started to remove your T-shirt but stopped immediately to ask for your permission.
“Are you sure this is okay with you?” “Yes, I promise. I’ve always wanted this to be with you.” “Good. I’ll make you feel so good.” He pulled off the shirt and carefully took off your white bra, a mundane action that made you feel butterflies. After everything was taken off, you immediately covered your chest. You weren’t used to being exposed to someone like this, much less the guy you love.
“Don’t worry baby, you look beautiful. I promise,” Hoseok assured, gently removing your arms. He latched his mouth on one of your nipples, sucking on them feverishly. You let out a loud moan before biting your lip to stifle them. What if someone was there? “Don’t hide those moans for me, baby girl. I want to hear them,” he murmured, his mouth still on your breast. After hearing his words, you started to let out a series of moans and whimpers. While his mouth was on one, he was using his fingers to play with your nipple and tug on it a bit, a loud whine escaping your mouth.
“Please…” “Aww, does it hurt, little girl?” You shook your head as he slowly made his way over to your jeans, cupping your covered heat. You could feel yourself become more wet since no one has ever been near that area before and you wanted him to touch you more. Hoseok hastily pulled off your jeans and underwear, throwing them off to the side.
You felt embarrassed that you were completely bare in front of your crush and you wondered if it was too soon to back out of this. But what’s done is done and you’ve wanted him to see you like this for a long time so you decided to have some confidence. That’s what Nayeon told you, right?
“Did you ever have something in you?”
“No, this is my first time ever doing this. I’m kind of worried.” “It’s okay, I’ll help you. Now, I’m going to do a bit of foreplay to get you ready for my dick. It’s basically like warm-ups before the actual thing. Don’t worry, it doesn’t hurt.” You felt his fingers linger near your entrance and you nodded at him to enter. He suddenly purged a slender finger inside you as you let out a moan, him slowly thrusting to make you comfortable.
“You look so cute, taking my finger like it’s my cock. I don’t even know if you’re ready to even take it.” “I am! I’m ready! Please, keep moving!” You felt a wave of confidence overcome you, surprising yourself and Hoseok. He turned his shocked expression into a smirk, curling his finger and adding another one inside you.
He was stretching your walls out well to later accommodate his dick, making scissoring motions inside and finding your g-spot. All of this pleasure was too much for you as you held onto Hoseok’s arms and fed his ego with mewls and whines. You couldn’t form a single word due to the pleasure he was giving you, even though it was only two fingers.
“Ah, ah, Hoseok, I-” He suddenly adds a third finger and keeps thrusting quickly, his palm rubbing your clit. His palm was quickly replaced by his mouth as he sucked on it harshly.
“You gonna be a good girl and cum for the first time? Are you close?” he teases.
“Oh my god, oh, Hoseok…” You felt tiny beads of sweat drip down your forehead from the heat and pressure, your walls tightening around his long fingers.
You felt a knot in your stomach which you assumed that your orgasm was coming soon. Hoseok could also tell and kept going faster, making fast come-here motions and playing around with your clit.
“You’re close now, are you? Such a good girl as I stretch your tiny pussy out for my big dick. That’s right baby girl, cum for me now. Cum all over my fingers and face.” His words were your breaking point as you felt that knot snap, your orgasm arriving. You moan out Hoseok’s name as he stares at your cum flow out of your system. He sucked on his fingers before taking some of your juices and bringing it to your mouth. You suck on them wantonly, causing Hoseok’s dick to twitch. Maybe someday you can suck him off with your cute mouth.
“Good girl, you did so well baby,” he praises, making your stomach have butterflies from his words. You watch as he strips himself to his boxers, your eyes widening on what could be under them. He palms his cock for a bit, staring into your eyes seductively.
“Are you ready for this?” You nodded rapidly, wanting to have his dick inside you. He slowly pulled down his boxers and his cock immediately sprang up, looking erect and large. You gulped at what’s going to enter you, Hoseok smirking at your reaction.
“Don’t worry, it’s going to be okay. I’ll go slow at first, I promise,” he assured, the tip of his cock slightly brushing against your pussy.
You braced yourself for him to enter you, whining as you clenched around his length.
“Oh my fucking god, you’re so tight. You’re doing well baby,” he groaned, slowly pulling out and pushing in. You found yourself at a nice pace but after a while, you signalled him to go faster. This is really it, you’re going to be losing your virginity to him! He started to ram into you quickly, his dick filling you up and hitting many different nerves inside. You clawed on his back, trying to keep yourself steady from the insane pace he was going at.
“Look at you trying to take my cock, such a cutie,” he coos, toying around with your breasts again. You let out a mewl at his words, lewd sounds filling the room. Your walls started to clench around him tightly causing Hoseok to let out low grunts and moans.
The now familiar feeling of your orgasm started to make its way again, the knot returning as you approach it for the second time. Hoseok could tell that you were close as well with the way your cunt was tightening around his dick.
“You going to cum again, baby? That’s right, make a mess on my big dick,” he grunts, slowly reaching his own high as well.
You let out a moan as your juices came pouring down again, your whole body shaking and your cunt sensitive from cumming twice. Little white stars started to appear in your vision from how much pleasure you had. Hoseok started to thrust faster and suddenly pulled out, stroking his length to release all of his seed onto your stomach. After it stopped spurting out, he took a minute to catch his breath and leaned down to kiss you on the lips.
“How was it, sweetie? Was it okay?” he asked, caressing your cheek.
“I-it was great. Thank you so much, I didn’t expect it to be like this.” “I’m going to get a towel to clean you up and some clothes. I’ll be right back,” he smiled, leaving the living room for a bit.
You stared at the ceiling, thinking about what you’ve done with him. Even though many people your age think of sex as just a way to get pleasure, it meant a lot to you because you were giving your body and trust to a person. Obviously, Hoseok was very special to you and you were grateful that it was him who took away your virginity. You loved him enough to let yourself be exposed to you and you knew that he must’ve had sex with other girls but did he feel something special with you? Was it only you who were feeling this way.
Hoseok came back dressed in a T-shirt and shorts and in his hand was another T-shirt and a towel. He carefully wiped off the cum that landed onto your stomach and thighs, making you get goosebumps from the touch. You put on the T-shirt he gave you, the bottom of it reaching your thighs.
“So am I going to stay here for the night?” “Of course! Why would I let you go back home at this hour?” “Uh, am I going to sleep on the couch?” “Hell no, it’s too stained for you to sleep there. You can sleep in my bedroom with me.”
You felt your heart beat faster from the thought of sleeping next to him. He picked you up bridal style since you were too sore to walk and laid you down on his bed. Since it was late and there wasn’t anything you needed to do, you decided to get ready to go to bed.
Hoseok watches you go to sleep and decides to join you. He stares at the ceiling, thinking about what he did with you. It was nice seeing his childhood friend again and he definitely enjoyed having sex with you but he felt different after. When you confessed your feelings for him at the cafe, his heart felt relieved for some reason. It was different than when his exes and current girlfriend confessed.
Do I love Y/N?
He leans over to you and lightly strokes your hair, finding you adorable. He wishes he found you sooner since that day in elementary school, he wishes he asked you out earlier. Maybe tomorrow he could ask you to be his girlfriend. But that would mean he’s cheating and he was never a big fan of breaking someone’s heart just to be with another person. It made him less of a person and all of a sudden, he felt guilty about what he did today.
You were such a sweet person and he didn’t want to harm you by rejecting your feelings...but he doesn’t want to break the trust of a person just because you were a childhood friend.
Hoseok’s heart ached as he decided to let you go due to the guilt of cheating on his girlfriend, even though he would much rather have you here beside him.
The next morning, you found yourself awake with Hoseok sitting next to you. You smiled as you remembered what happened yesterday, feeling better than ever.
“Good morning, Hoseok!”
“Ah, good morning, Y/N!” “Do you want anything for breakfast?” “Listen Y/N, I need to talk to you about something. It’s important so please listen. Uh, yesterday shouldn’t have happened and I feel like you shouldn’t have slept with me.”
“Wait, why?” “Do you remember that I have a girlfriend?” “Did you break up with her?” “No...so that means I cheated on her.”
You felt your heart break as Hoseok avoided eye contact with you. Your first time was with someone who had a girlfriend and he cheated on her with you.
“You’re right. This shouldn’t have happened. Why was I stupid enough to let you take my virginity?” “I’m so sorry, Y/N. I don’t think we can see each other anymore.” You felt hot tears drip down your cheeks, feeling embarrassed and foolish. The man you loved took your virginity but it meant nothing. It was just a one-night stand.
“I’m going to go now, I don’t feel comfortable here. But I have a question, you know how much I loved you for over a decade. How much that night meant to me and how much you mean to me. Did you ever feel the same way? Did you ever feel something between us during that time?”
You looked at Hoseok’s face, scanning to see if there’s any emotion. He looked into your eyes but he shook his head. Hoseok desperately wanted to say yes but he just couldn’t. He couldn’t hurt someone else for you.
“N-no, it meant nothing to me. I guess it was just a one-time thing. This shouldn’t have happened, I’m sorry that I never told you before.”
You let out a sob as you made your way out of his bedroom, grabbing your bag and putting on your shoes so you can leave. You looked back to see if Hoseok followed you but he still remained in his room. With your heart torn into pieces, you trudged out of his dorm without a final goodbye from him.
It’s been a few hours since you and Hoseok saw each other. Luckily, you didn’t have class together but you stared at him talking with his girlfriend like nothing never happened. He locked eyes with you and there was an intense connection for a moment but you broke it since that’ll never happen again.
You pulled out the flower which only had a petal remaining. Even though flowers don’t accurately predict your love life, this one knows what will happen between you and Hoseok. You thought he loved you back but it turned out to be nothing. A tear fell out of your eye as you pulled out the last petal, the answer evident from the now-lifeless stem.
He loves me not.
a/n: hope you guys don’t hate me too much over the ending! love y’all <3

Lucifer x MC x Satan Fic, Part 17/???
Read Parts 1-16 here!
-
Slowly turning around, she trudged back over to the saucepan that was now bubbling. Her mind was clouded with mixed emotions as she mindlessly began stirring.
-
Stepping out of her bedroom, MC made her way down the hall as she prepared for her day with Lucifer. Fiddling with the strap on her bag, she made her way down the staircase before being greeted by Satan at the bottom.
“Morning MC.” He spoke softly after seeing her.
“Hey, how are you doing?” She asked, immediately after looking up. Satan could see the concern already riddled on her face.
“I’m okay, MC.” He chuckled, “I told you this yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that. I just wasn’t feeling so great that night.” He tried to cover up, referring to his sudden coldness after she showed him the necklace Lucifer bought her. “What are you plans for today then?”
“Dress shopping.” MC smiled to herself.
“Oh is Asmo taking you?” He asked curiously.
“No, Lucifer is.” She answered, “he managed to get all of his work out of the way with again to make time for today.”
“That was...sweet of him.” Satan admitted hesitantly.
Glancing up at MC, he smiled sadly at her. Although pain filled his heart, he still loved to see her happy. Even if it was with Lucifer.
“It was, I’m just as surprised as you are.” She laughed, “I’ve seen how much work he gets piled with.”
“Mm.” Satan nodded, “well I don’t want to distract you from your day - I’ll see you when you get back?”
“Of course! I’ll stop by your room if you like?” MC grinned.
Seeing the cheery smile on her face caused Satan to let out a small breath as his expression turned soft. “Yeah, I’d like that.” He confirmed.
Saying her goodbye, MC made her way to Lucifer’s study where he’d been waiting for her. As soon as he heard her footsteps enter the room, he glanced up and gazed at her. “You look wonderful.” He complimented, noting her attire. “Are you ready?”
“Yes!” She spoke cheerfully as they left the room together.
Exiting the house and walking down the path, MC was reminded of the walk she’d had with Lucifer all of those weeks ago. As she reminisced, her cheeks grew warm.
Lucifer remained his usual serious self. Striding beside her, he took long breaths as he felt a small sense of anxiety cloud his body. Despite this feeling, he still smiled to himself as MC spoke to him about her week. Just hearing her voice brought him ease.
“You sure are talkative today, aren’t you? I feel like you’ve switched places with Mammon.” He chuckled to himself causing her to blush. Realising he made her flustered, Lucifer turned his head, “only you are much sweeter than him.”
“Oh...” she whispered, feeling a small flutter in her chest.
Coming to a stop, Lucifer turned his body to face her completely as MC copied his actions. “Is everything alright?” She asked, bewildered by their sudden halt.
“Yeah.” He spoke quietly as his crimson eyes melted into her angelic expression.
As he gazed at MC, that feeling of anxiety began to grow in his body. Perhaps it was the fear that their morning together would be interrupted at any second with a buzz of his D.D.D or perhaps even a cry in the distance from one of his brothers getting themselves into trouble.
Lucifer wasn’t one to feel vulnerable but when he felt the expectant eyes of MC on him, dread filled his heart. But then again, so did love.
Lifting a gloved hand, he caressed her cheek with the back of his fingers as he parted his lips. His movements were slow and with every second that he touched MC, she seemed to be more and more captivated by him. Everything was silent.
Lucifer couldn’t think straight.
The pair gazed at each other momentarily until Lucifer began leaning in unconsciously. MC closed her eyes as she felt his lips press against hers. And then, as he kissed her, MC’s heart fluttered. It was a sensation she’d always yearned for but never got to experience until now. Although it was completely unexpected, the contact thrilled MC.
Lucifer felt an unusually warm sensation in his stomach as they shared an ardent embrace but soon his feelings of tenderness were replaced by ones of dread and fear. The perfect images of MC in his mind were ripped away and soon all he could picture was the inevitable pain that he’d bring her. There’s no way that he could ever commit to her; not with his pledge.
And eventually, with the images of her saddened expression plastering his mind, it became too much. They flashed in his brain, tormented him even. Suddenly, it was all he could think about.
Pulling out just as fast as he’d leant in, Lucifer’s face sunk. As she watched his change in expression, all happiness drained from MC’s. “What’s wrong?” She asked quietly, fearing the answer. Suddenly her heart was beating fast and for all of the wrong reasons.
He already had a feeling of dread as she could sense how troubled he was.
“I’m sorry, MC.” He sighed, “I don’t think this is a good idea.”
MC backed away as soon as she heard his words, knitting her eyebrows as she did so. “I’m sorry?” She whispered, silently hoping that she misheard him.
“I don’t think we can do this.” He breathed, meeting her eyes with a serious expression.
MC couldn’t believe it. Had he really just gained her trust again only to pull the exact same line he said originally?
“I don’t understand.” She spoke firmly, “you kissed me - why would you do that if you didn’t think it’d be a good idea?”
Although on the inside she was breaking all over again, she managed to keep a strong exterior. She didn’t want to give Lucifer the satisfaction of her being weak for him.
“Because I needed to...” he hesitated, “I long for your touch MC, I really do. But there are other matters that I must consider.”
MC’s chest began to heave from a mixture of emotions; her skin grew hot as she tried not to break down. “Like what, Lucifer?” She asked hurt, “I don’t understand.”
“I never told you the whole truth the night you told me you love me, and I still didn’t tell you everything later on.” He informed her, causing MC to let out a small scoff. “I want to be able to be there for you but I can’t.”
“Because of your pledge?” She asked quietly, piecing everything together.
“Exactly. No matter how hard I tried to allow myself to be happy by being with you, my duty always got in the way.” He stated with a nod before hesitating. “Unfortunately I must put duty before love.”
“And you knew this all along...” MC breathed, shaking her head as tears began to form in her eyes, “and yet you still built me up again after rejecting me only to kick me down at the final step...you lead me on, Lucifer.”
Lucifer thought that shutting MC out was what would be best for them both but after seeing the pain in her eyes, he began to wonder if he’d made the right decision. Yes, he had a pledge to Diavolo but was that really more of a concern when his one potential chance of happiness was stood in front of him?
“MC, please try to understand me. The only reason I am doing this is because I fear hurting you.” Lucifer tried to explain.
“If you really cared about hurting me you would have just told me the truth to begin with.” She spoke with a tremble in her voice, “because now you’ve just done the one thing you swore to protect me from.”
Lucifer’s gaze fell to the floor as he comprehended the consequences of his actions. He really thought he could open up to MC and let her in but - like she said - he cowered just as things were about to fall into place.
“Why did you lead me on?” She asked barely above a whisper, “why did you allow it to come this far?”
“I didn’t want to let you go.” He stated, still remaining serious.
“Why?” MC asked firmly.
“Because I...” he started before pausing.
MC didn’t want to hear anymore. His reluctance was a clear enough answer for her. “You don’t need to force yourself.” She spoke quietly, brushing past Lucifer as she went to leave.
“I’m sorry, MC.” He spoke pained, spinning around.
For the first time ever, MC saw the hurt in his usual confident eyes. He genuinely looked remorseful as his eyebrows knitted together and his face fell. She couldn’t keep doing this to herself though. Even if Lucifer did love her, he wasn’t ready to admit it and MC couldn’t risk being hurt again.
“I am too.” She whispered as a tear finally escaped her eye.
In a rush, she spun on her heel before leaving Lucifer stood alone. She didn’t want him to see her cry. All she wanted was to be alone so that she could wallow in her self pity.
As he watched her leave him, Lucifer let out a deep breath. After seeing the way she looked at him after he tore her heart out of her chest and stomped on it in front of her, regret filled his whole body.
He just allowed the one person who truly made him happy slip through his fingers all because of his pride. His vow to complete every duty presented to him and the promise to never let Diavolo down seemed ridiculous now.
Was that really the reason for his rejection though?
Burying his face in his gloved hands, Lucifer silently wept to himself.
‘I can’t bring myself to admit that I’m in love with her.’
-
Uh oh! Looks like Lucifer is too proud to admit his feelings.
Will this cost him MC for good?

Welcome Home
Pairings: None Characters: Sakuya, Mankai as a whole. Warnings: mentions of abandonment because Sakuya’s relatives suck A/N: @flavovitta posted a really wholesome headcanon yesterday and my brain’s immeadite response was “but what if we made it sad?” so this fic was born.
“Ya’ sure, man?” Banri questioned with a slight raise of his eyebrow.
“Yes! I’ll be right there!” Sakuya’s signature smile was plastered on his face; Banri’s quickly distracted by a notification on his phone and went inside with a quick mumbled “‘kay.” Masumi, on the other hand, stayed behind with a look on his face that many would describe as ‘annoyed’ but Sakuya could discern the tinge of concern and the silent question that hid behind his friend’s usually aloof expression.
“I’ll be okay, Masumi, really. It’ll only take a second,” he reassured him, the corners of his smile softening in response to Masumi’s unspoken worry.
The boy pursed his lips together but nodded nonetheless. As soon as Masumi went through the door, Sakuya accepted the call before she hung up on him. He knew it would only earn him a lecture if he made her wait too long. It was ironic, really, considering that she never really wanted to talk to him in the first place.
“Hi, aunt,” he greeted her.
“You took a while to answer,” she replied with a clipped tone. No “hello”, no “how have you been” and, as he felt how strained his smile had become, he wondered why he even expected anything else.
“Sorry! I just got home from school since class ran a bit long.” They had actually gone to get meat buns from a store Banri frequented since he had insisted to treat them after he found out they had never tried some from that specific place, but he knew she didn’t care and would probably reprimand him because if he had time to go out with friends, he had time to answer the phone, and he had time to study so that the money they put on his education wouldn’t go to waste.
She responded with a non-committal “hmph” and then started going through the usual list of questions. “How were his studies going?”, “Did he need to buy anything else for school?”, “Was he causing trouble for the company that had taken him in?”, “They weren’t gonna change their policy about housing, right? Because he would have to come back home if they started charging them” and the one that always made Sakuya grit his teeth: “Acting isn’t interfering with school, right? Because I know it’s your hobby but remember that it won’t take you anywhere serious in life.” Just like he did every month, he answered each question with a level tone. And just like she did every month, his aunt pretended to be interested in what he said.
It wasn’t until she hung up that Sakuya finally released the tight grip he had on his phone. He let out a deep sigh and felt his shoulders drop; he knew the routine and every step he had to follow to avoid any landmines when talking to his family, but even to this day a small part of him wished they would show even the slightest bit of interest in his life.
“Agh, get it together!” he taped his cheeks in an attempt to make himself snap out of it. That was just the way things were and there was no point in him being moody and making the others feel bad for him. With that thought in mind, he opened the door that led to the living room and he was immediately hit with the smell of chicken broth and vegetables that wafted from the kitchen.
“Uh….I’m back,” he called out while his feet took him in the direction that delicious smell came from.
“Welcome home, Sakuya!” Izumi smiled while she worked on setting the table. “Banri and Masumi said you were answering a call from your family, is everything okay?” Her smile didn’t waver but he could still see the concern that tinted her expression. The director was the only person in the company who had ever interacted with his aunt apart from himself; because of that, he knew there would be no point in trying to lie to her of all people but he still didn’t really want to talk about it so he settled for a shrug and a small grimace.
She didn’t push further, she knew that Sakuya needed his space from time to time, but she did reach up to run her fingers through his hair, pushing it away from his forehead. He jumped slightly -the open and sincere affection he’s been subjected to since he joined Mankai still took him by surprise- but he couldn’t help but lean towards her hand, thankfully for the reassurance her touch brought him.
Suddenly, her grin returned and she started pushing him towards the kitchen. “Omi’s making dinner! Doesn’t it smell wonderful? He asked me to tell you to go to the kitchen once you got home because he wanted to ask you something.” The barely hidden excitement in her voice sparked his curiosity, so he took a small detour to leave his backpack on the couch before going to find Omi.
Omi turned around when he heard his footsteps and beckoned him over with one hand. “Perfect timing, Sakuya. I’m making chicken noodle soup today and I would like your input.”
“Me?” he exclaimed in surprise.
Omi smiled. “Yes, you mentioned this was your favourite, right? I thought it would be best if you tried it first so I know if I have to change anything for next time.”
He had mentioned it, yes, and despite knowing that Omi had already done this for a couple of the others as well, a part of him couldn’t believe he had gone through the same effort for his sake as well. Omi was kind, so kind; all of them were in their own ways, and sometimes Sakuya had to discreetly pinch himself just to make sure he wasn’t dreaming.
So, after blowing on it, he didn’t hesitate to try the spoonful of soup Omi held in front of his face.
Honestly, when Omi had asked him what his favourite soup was, he almost told him he didn’t have one. He had spent most of his life bouncing from family member to family member, being tossed around like an old family heirloom that had lost its value after the original owners were gone; no one wanted to keep it but everyone was too afraid to throw it out. He was used to having to settle for whatever was handed to him, to not ask for extra things, to not be greedy because he was imposing so much on his relatives already, and that meant that he really didn’t have a lot of favourite things. But then it came to him, a distant memory from the time when his parents were still alive. He was probably around four or five years old and the details had been fuzzy, but he remembered the soup his mom used to make him whenever he caught a cold. That’s what he told Omi and the man had followed his instructions to a T: the broth was a perfect balance of vegetable and chicken, the noodles weren’t too big, and the chicken and the carrots had been cut in smaller than usual pieces because that’s what his mom would for him so he wouldn’t have any problems chewing when he wasn’t feeling well.
Omi’s startled voice brought him back to the present.
“Hey, are you okay? Was it too hot? Was it bad?” Omi had reached over to grip his shoulder and was peering down at him with a concerned frown on his face.
Sakuya was so confused that he almost asked him what he meant but he quickly realised how wet and hot his face felt. He brought a hand to his face and confirmed his suspicions: he was crying; it wasn’t full-on sobbing, but the tears were streaming down his face without him being able to stop them. They weren’t sad tears, no; well, not exactly. He had eaten just one spoonful but that was all it took to make the blurry edges around that old memory suddenly clear, and he was suddenly transported back to his old room, with his mother’s gentle smile and the soft hand on top of his hair. It was just one instant, but he could have sworn that he felt the tender touch of his mother’s lips on his forehead.
He placed his hand on top of Omi’s and smiled through the tears, “It’s perfect, Omi.” He couldn’t think of what else to say, the emotions were overwhelming him; sadness, longing, happiness, and a trace of slight bitterness, all of them were swirling inside of him and he didn’t know where to start. He needed a moment, and while he was calming down the director had come into the kitchen and had begun rubbing his back in a soothing notion; from his peripheral vision, he could also see Masumi and Citron, looking like they wanted to step in but waiting to see what he wanted. He could feel their worried gazes and the warmth of their hands seeping throw his blazer and his shirt and reaching his very insides. It was like his heart was being squeezed inside his chest, but instead of being painful, it felt grounding. He had felt alone for such a long time and he hadn’t realised how much he had gotten used to the cold loneliness that permeated his life since his parents had passed away. His parents weren’t by his side anymore, but as he looked around after wiping his eyes and with Citron draping himself over him and asking him if he was okay, a small smile settled on his face. Yes, his parents were gone, but his new family was now here.

(100 Days Left)
Not everyone deserves to have someone look after them. Someone ideal who can prepare dinner after a long day of work, or someone who understands how you feel and will support you no matter what. Surely you weren't one of those people.
God always had his eye on you, especially considering you constantly prayed to him in tears, imploring him to support you in some way. You were extremely exhausted from all the crimes that occurred in your life. The cross was excessively heavy for you; your wasted body couldn't take it anymore.
It all happened on a rainy night. You were working on a recent design for a client. Your body felt all worn out from serving all night and day at the restaurant. Your eyes were burning though you couldn’t bring yourself to stop, not when the design was turning out so well.
As you looked out the sliding window, you noticed that it was raining. The chilly raindrops caused an aesthetic feeling that helped you feel inspired. The only light inside your apartment was from the laptop you were currently using. Outside however, the only source of light you saw was the stroke of lightning from the dark sky that alarmed you.
Ever since you were a young girl you had a fear of lightning. However, now that you were an adult, you couldn’t let it distract you no more, you had to continue working. You did your best to ignore the strokes of lightning outside as you continued to distract yourself for a little longer.
As your eyes carefully analysed the finished product, your mind wandered somewhere else. You remembered how you used to live in your hometown with your parents in a humble environment while working on a company of Web Design, something you studied for. The boss loved your hardworking and creative self. Therefore, when he got the chance, he gave you the main seat at the table of the company, in Seoul.
In about a month or so you moved to the massive city of Seoul. It was unusual for you, so many people and so much noise. It was recent, but after some time you became used to the weirdness. You lived in a magnificent apartment, five minutes away from work, which was thankfully paid for by the company.
Everything was going completely fine until the boss invested in the wrong company. When that company went down, the company you were working for also went down, causing your boss to be bankrupted.
That's when your world came crashing down. You lost the apartment you were staying in because it was way too overpriced for you to afford alone, and you didn't even have a place to work. To make things worse, your parents were going through a tough time back in your hometown, and you had sent them the money you had saved, leaving you with just a couple hundred dollars.
You were alone and lost in an enormous city. You had no place to sleep or work. You felt miserable and lost as you cried yourself to sleep for several days, sleeping on some cardboards that the people were throwing away.
You were tired of sleeping on the ground, on the fourth day, you summoned up some unknown energy and went to a public bathroom, where you showered and prepared yourself to find a new job.
You spent all day running around, walking from coffee shop to coffee shop. From one restaurant to another. By seven your body was exhausted. Especially because you didn't eat all day, so you sat down on the road.
Finally the answer to your prayers were heard. An elderly lady saw you miserably sitting down on the dirty ground and helped you walk inside her small restaurant. It smelled of rice cakes and kimchi and you liked it.
The eldery woman’s name was Kim Sohyun and she was eighty years old. But don’t be fooled by her age, she was fast and didn't stop moving. She always found something to do at the restaurant, even when it was as empty as a parking lot at night. Out of genuine kindness, she gave you some food and a place to stay. The apartment you stayed in was from her daughter that left Korea to go abroad and never talked to her mom again.
After that day, you took care of that adorable lady, learned how to cook and even started cleaning for her.
You smiled at the thought of the lady Kim Sohyun. As your mind came back to the present when you read the name of the person that asked you for the design, you got shy. He is a starting rapper by the name of Changbin. He had pretty brown eyes and a cute laugh that made your heart flutter.
When he told you he trusted you with his first album cover design you hugged him tightly, which caught him off guard, but he didn't mind. Not when it came to you. Changbin was around for a while before asking you to work for him. He knew your story, and you knew his.
A sudden loud bang echoed inside your silent apartment shocking you. Then suddenly everything was dark. It took you a while to recognize what happened, but as soon as you noticed that the power went off panic took over your small body.
Your computer is quite old and only works plugged to the electricity. Since the power went off, it means your computer is dead. Tears started to form at the corners of your exhausted eyes... All the work you already had done… Was gone.
The design you had been working on for days was totally gone.
You fell on your knees on the wood floor violently. Your frame curled up in a ball as you sobbed quietly, trying your best not to be too noisy and scare Lady Sohyun that is sleeping.
Now the only sounds audible from the inside were your sobs, and from the outside, the rain that started to calm down.
God, decided to reward you from being loyal and strong and sent someone to save you.
You didn't see it, but it was something so magical and special. There was an angel standing in front of you. His body was muscular and well proportioned, radiating light.
You noticed something was wrong from all the sudden brightness that escaped from between your fingers as you covered your eyes. And just like the curiosity killed the cat, you screamed so loud that you are afraid it woke half of the city.
In front of you, there was an absurd creature. His body was perfectly built, muscles visible on his pale body. His face was so magical that you were afraid that you had died and went to paradise. Golden hair, gloomy eyes, plump crimson lips, and a prominent nose. His frame was only covered by a thin cover that went from his shoulder to his waist, secured by a charming gold belt. His feet bare.
“What-what are you doing here?” You question getting off the wooden floor and taking a few steps back, startled.
“I'm your guardian angel, YN.” The creature explains, his voice low and noble. “Don’t be afraid…I'm here to take care of you.”
You stare at him with burning cheeks and uncertain eyes. Curiosity consuming you alive. You walk towards him slowly. He was so pure and bright, almost unreal. Something heaven-made.
“Can I touch you?” You ask innocently, just to make sure he is real.
“Go ahead, YN-ah.” The angels respond with a genuine smile.
Your fingertips were trembling as you caressed his cheek. The angel flinched because of your cold fingertips, scaring you for a few moments. His skin was silky and he felt genuine. His hair was also soft, but a bit dry and he smelled like nature. The scent was so different that you couldn't explain it. It prompted you with comfort.
“Oh my…” You confessed impressively. “I don’t have money to buy you food, and I don't have a place for you to sleep in… I'm sorry. I think you should go back to… hm… Heaven?” You say, confused. The beautiful angel laughs.
“YN, I don’t need to eat or sleep. I'm here to be your company, help you when you need it, take care of you.” Your mouth opens in a ‘O’ shape and you nod your head. Deep inside, you were still confused and uncertain.
“Hmmm, I think I'm going to sleep now. Could you, hm, not look at me? While I try to fall asleep?” Your cheeks were reddening again. The angel looks at you with love and accepts.
You lay down on your bed and cover your body, hiding completely. Your brain quickly tried to be reasonable and tells you that this was just a dream. Maybe you hit your head and passed out. Too scared to know the truth, you didn’t get out of the covers. As time slowly passed, you silently fell asleep.
It's cute how the next morning you wake up with your blankets almost falling off the bed and an amazing smell of eggs, toasts, and pancakes.
That's odd. Miss. Kim Sohyun never prepared your breakfast before. The weirdest thing was she didn't have these kind of ingredients. As you walked to the small kitchen, yawning and gently rubbing your sleepy eyes, there was a bare back facing you. You screamed, startled.
“Oh, good morning Y/N, did you sleep well?” The man asked, placing a glass of orange juice on the table.
“I thought it was all a dream…” You said to yourself, facing the floor, twisting your hair in annoyance.
“It’s not. I’m here to take care of you…” You stared at him, seriously. That was the first time he made your heart flutter.
After ten awkward minutes of him washing the dishes that were on the sink from yesterday, curiosity took the best of you:
“What's your name, Angel?” You asked, admiring his sturdy back. He laughed silently, then he jerked his head towards you.
“Oh right, how impolite. I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Christopher Bang Chan. I’m a mixture of Korean and Australian. I was moving to Korea when the plane I was in had a problem and crashed. I died there, I was twenty years old. This is why I still look like this and not older.” The last part, he narrated to you while facing the plates he was washing, avoiding your gaze.
“I'm so sorry…” You said in a low voice.
"It 's ok love. Everything happens for a reason…” Christopher says with a tender smile. “Now” He started talking again, finishing up with the plates. “You go to take a shower, and then get ready to work, I’ll clean the kitchen.” You looked at him surprised but did as he said.
“Wait, what will you do all day?” You asked, interested.
“I'll clean your house, try to fix your computer and then pray. Don’t worry about me, ok?” You nodded again, trying to be obedient.

( 90 Days Left)
As time went by you bought him some ‘human’ clothes, so he looked ordinary and you could walk around with him by your side. Chris, as you like to call him, looked handsome on the outfits you carefully pick him.
The truth was that his presence was now normal to you. Every time you opened your door, you greet the charming Angel, that's usually in the modern kitchen, cooking you dinner. Usually, after dinner, you washed the dishes while you obligated him to sit down and rest for a bit.

( 80 Days Left)
After a tedious day of work, you ate a delicious dinner and went straight to the bathroom to take a warm shower. When you were done, you sat comfortably on your downy bed while Chris brushed your hair. Usually while he did it, you informed him about your day, and today was no different. As his bony fingers grazed over your scalp trying not to willingly hurt when he was brushing harder, you eagerly told him about Changbin.
“He may seem to be a bit mean at first. He always wears black clothes… his makeup is always perfectly made. I'm jealous sometimes. His voice is nice because he can make it deep and serious or high pitched and girly to piss me off.” You giggled while remembering Binnie’s jokes from that today.
“That man seems important to you…” Chris stated with a gentle smile, even though something sparkled inside him. Could he be jealous of that man for being so close to you?
“Hmmmm, not as important as you.” You say positively and then turn your body so you could confront the timid boy sitting in the middle of your bed.
Chris looked at the white blanket that was resting on his legs as he played with his fingers. Did you just say that? Is he that important to you? The Angel was biting his bottom lip nervously. His heart was racing like crazy and you could almost hear it calling your name.
You moved closer to him, enough so when you extended your arm, your soft hand would cup his cheek. Chan immediately stared at you, trying to understand what were you going to do next.
A voice in your head woke you up and made you pull your hand away, suddenly feeling shy. Maybe Chris can’t feel love for someone, maybe not the same way humans do. And you were afraid of scaring him. An uncomfortable silence involves the both of you and you sign, closing your eyes and trying to calm down the urge to cry.
The truth is he makes you feel some type of way. His eyes seem to light up and turn brighter every time he sees you. Chris would carefully listen to all your complaining or sad words. His lips would turn to an adorable pout when you were bossing him around. His hugs were warm and safe, and you felt protected on them. His laugh was so innocent and contagious and also mentioning he has such a pure heart, filled with love only. The angel made you feel special and loved… You were getting attached to it.
You didn't want to admit it to him or yourself. Maybe you were starting to feel something for him. It was wrong. You and he could never be together, because he was your guardian angel, not your lover.
“I think… I'll go to sleep.” You said after being lost on your melancolic thoughts for too long.
“Oh, hm, ok… But you seem sad. What's wrong?” Chan politely questioned while getting off the comfy bed so you could lay down. Your hands felt unsteady, your stomach was aching in an unusual way.
“Nothing you can fix.” You coldly explained, intentionally trying to push him away. You needed some time alone.
“Oh… Ok. I'll be praying in the kitchen if you require me.” Chris winks at you. “Good Night, Love.” You bite your lip to stop the tears from slipping out. That damn nickname.
You tried to sleep. You did, but your heart was beating too fast and you couldn't stop thinking about his lips. Chris's lips were so plump and inviting, they seemed so soft and plush, so kissable…
Chan peaked at you, and noticed how restless you were, he approached you:
“Y/N, let me try to help you. Please, you don’t need to talk about it. I'll just be there for you.” The Angel insists, sitting by your side on your bed.
“Ok ok… I only accept because it's hard for me to sleep, and I have work tomorrow.” You finally gave in. Chan felt grateful, this was something he wanted for a while and was too shy to ask you.
You lay down on the bed again, closing your eyes and snuggling inside the warm covers. Chris was shy, but it was worth it. Chan lays down on the bed, under the covers and gets closer to you. Uncertain. His arm rested on your waist as he pushed you a little further against his chest.
Chan wanted to cuddle you. You smiled as an adorable blush painted your cheeks. He was warmer than the heavy covers, his embrace so safe and comfortable that you never wanted him to leave.
The Angel was feeling the same, shy but happy. Your body felt so tiny between his protective arms. He desperately wished to hold you forever because, somehow, you felt like home. Chan was scared, afraid of how he was starting to feel for the charming girl he had to look after. He loves to admire the way your smile gets wider when he makes a joke; how you get mad at him when he does everything at home alone and how pretty you look without even trying.
What if he fell for you?

( 70 Days Left)
“Chris come here…” You whined in the bathroom, your bandana was stuck in your hair and if you tried to pull it, it would most likely rip all your hair off.
The tall man came inside the bathroom in a rush, worried that something may have happened to you.
“What’s wrong, Love?” His melodious voice asked, admiring your grumpy face that reflected on the small, old mirror.
“My hair is tangled, and it hurts if I pull it. Please, help me.” You begged with puppy eyes, noticing how he changed from worried to relaxed in seconds.
The Angel walked behind you, and his slender fingers started to work on your messy hair. You could feel the warmth his body was radiating from behind you. His smell changed, because he was now using your body wash and shampoo. The smell of vanilla was amazing, you liked it in your skin, but when it came to him… It was special.
Chris was shaking, his fingers were uncertain and trembling. His breathing was uneasy and his legs felt like jelly. He could notice easily how you were biting your bottom lip, a cute pink blush on your cheeks and every time his fingers brushed against your sensitive neck, a long breath would leave your sensual lips.
The atmosphere inside the bathroom was starting to heat up, both of you not being able to control their body language and it was obvious. So obvious that both of you were crazy in love with each other.
“Done…” He said, his voice loud but shaky. Chris immediately called himself stupid for showing you that he is feeling flustered, but you just give him a soft smile and turned around, taking your bandana out of his hands and getting out of the bathroom in a rush, trying to calm yourself down.
You walked close to your window and opened it, feeling the cold breeze hitting your face and calming your heated body. Your heart was beating fastly and you were too timid to look Chris in the eyes.
The way he made you feel is not possible, you can’t feel like that. Though his eyes were so pretty, his lips were so inviting and his heart was pure gold… How could you stop yourself from feeling that way? A sudden call for your name made you come back to reality.
You walked to the front door and opened it. The kind woman that gave you a shelter was there, with a light mad expression:
“My oven is a mess, Hun, i didn't want to bother you on a Sunday but i need help with it.” She explained shaking her head in disappointment. “Could you please get downstairs and clean it?” She asked, her voice hopeful.
“Yes, i can do it. Give me just five minutes and i'll be there.” You smiled politely, she took your hands in hers and smiled, secretly, she was very grateful for you.
You got back inside the small place and called for Chris. He showed up with red eyes, like he was crying but he simply smiled at you, while making you sign with his hand for you to go help Miss Sohyun.
You did so, your heart beating fast once again, but this time because you know, something was up with the angel and you know he will never tell you what's wrong.

( 60 Days Left)
Some days passed by and you and Chris slept in the same bed together every day. Even him, that affirmed he didn't need to sleep, would get lost in your warmth and fall asleep. Cute little snores invading the bedroom and you couldn't stop giggling, from how precious he looked.
As your eyes scanned your window you noticed that outside was dark, despite being 9 am, it was raining. The heavy raindrops were hitting your window in the most deliciously, making you feel lazy. You looked back at Chris one last time and got off the bed, ready to prepare him a surprise for the first time.
At the kitchen you heated some milk and prepared some toasts that you filled with Nutella. You also picked up some grapes, just how you know he liked it. After a couple of minutes, everything was prepared on the table. There was: a candle with no smell lighted; some white napkins; the amazing toasts with Nutella; the grapes were washed and fresh; and the chocolate was already on the milk, turning out to warm chocolate what you know he will love.
You walked back to your bedroom to find him sleeping on his back, his face turned to the left as his hands rested inside his t-shirt, making it rise and show his toned chest. Immediately you blushed but weren't able to take your eyes out of him. You blamed the covers because they were all messy at the bottom of the bed.
“Chris~” You whispered, sitting next to his body on the bed. The angel just shifted a little in his sleep and reached out for you, pulling you by your waist to lay next to him.
You were biting your lip to stop the gasp that almost escaped your lips from the sudden action. The next thing he did was cling to you, one of his legs rested on top of yours and his head moved to rest on your collar bones, giving you access to his scalp easily.
Christopher was adorable, and you couldn't deny it, especially because he was making you feel things, things you couldn't explain. Your fingers started to massage his scalp and that woke him up.
“Keep doing that…” His lips escaped, but it sounded more like a moan. You continued it for a while, feeling him get relaxed under your touch. Softly you felt his fingers make subtle touches on your stomach, making goosebumps take over your body.
“Smells so nice… Did you prepare something?” He asked getting off of you. You pouted, feeling cold without his body there to warm you.
“Oh, yes. I made breakfast! I was almost forgetting about it!” You are the first to get out of the bed, and then grab gently his hand and pull him to the kitchen.
“Woah.” He gasped. “You didn't have to. You know i don't need to eat…” Chris reminded you, laughing awkwardly.
“Oh…” You said embarrassed. “I forgot it…” You looked at the floor, your anxiety eating you alive.
Chris walked silently towards you and, with his slender fingers, pushed your chin up. Causing you face him. Your eyes found his almost immediately and you found yourself blushing because of that simple action. In his mind, he would take you right there, kiss your lips and get rid of this stupid feeling consuming him every time he was close to you.
“What you did was sweet and i appreciate it, Love.” He whispered. “I will eat some because you made them with so much care, ok?” You nodded, too embarrassed to say anything.
Chris always does this, makes you hope he would finally make a move and then, he leaves you hanging.

( 50 Days Left)
It all started as a good day, the sun was shining brightly outside, besides the cold wind that made your hair a mess. Chris passed out next to you when you woke up, one of his legs still tangled with yours and his nose was close to your ear, making you hear his not-so-cute snores.
You decided to get up without bothering him, you ate something that was in your fridge and wrote him a small letter telling him not to prepare lunch because you weren't going to eat at home.
At work, Changbin was talking to you, and distracting you so much that you didn't notice the new couple that got inside the restaurant. Due to that they got mad for taking so long to take their order.
Of course, the old lady you work for was mad at you, and as a punishment prohibited Bin from coming to the restaurant for one week. You apologized with teary eyes, the guilt swallowing you alive. You stayed the rest of the day hidden inside the kitchen, as the old lady worked as a waitress today.
A cup accidentally slipped from your hand and broke into million pieces as it hit the floor.
She was mad at you again, telling you that she doesn't know what's up with you today, and she couldn't understand why you were so slow today. When she decided it was time to close the restaurant, you noticed it was raining outside.
Since you live just across the street you didn't mind it, but a car passed in front of you when you were sprinting home, making the water on the road hit you and go everywhere making you soaked.
The tears in your eyes were held back by your angriness, but as soon as you saw Chris' angelic face you broke down in tears on the spot. You fell on your knees while hiding your face between your hands.
“What's wrong, my love?” The Angel asked concerned, but you were too busy sobbing to answer him. “You’re soaked, what happened?”
This time you took a glance at him, red and puffy eyes.
“It was a car. As I was waiting to cross the street he passed on the splash on the street and soaked me from head to toe.”
Chris giggled little from your choice of yours but tried to hide his smile so you wouldn't feel bad.
“Come on, let's take a hot bath to make you feel better, alright?” You nodded, tiredly getting off of your knees and walking to your cold bathroom.
Chris started to take care of the water, letting it fill the bathtub as you stripped of your wet clothes.
“When you are done washing your body tell me because I'll be there to wash your hair and give you a light massage on the scalp and shoulders… ok-” He interrupted himself because on his way out of the bathroom he caught you only in your underwear. A blush decorated your face as his curious eyes stared at you shamelessly.
“Could you… hmm… stop… staring?” You awkwardly asked, trying to cover yourself.
“I'm sorry, you are beautiful. I couldn't contain myself.” He apologized, then shifted his gaze to his hands, too nervous to face you.
When he finally closed the door behind him you relieved a long sign. You got rid of your underwear quickly, and dived inside the warm water. As the sound of the rain outside reflected inside your small bathroom, you cried.
Your body was overwhelmed with so many emotions that you could not explain. Chris noticed your almost inaudible sobs and waited patiently until you calmed done to knock on the wooden door:
“May i come in? To wash your hair for you?” He asked in a low voice.
“Yes, you may.” You answered some minutes after, trying to calm your heartbeat down.
He was going to be washing your hair, as you stayed naked underwater. Chris gets inside without making any noise and knees down on the floor, in front of the bathtub as you let your back hit the board and force your head back, so he could have access to it.
The angel’s hands were magical and we're making you feel much better. The way he patiently washed your hair almost made you fall asleep on the spot. After your hair was clean, you strained your back and waited for him to pour water on you, so the shampoo would get off.
Chris was feeling something inside him he didn't know he could. He wanted to touch you, feel every inch of you under his fingertips. He wanted to kiss you passionately as his hands roamed over your beautiful body.
He was only facing your back, but he felt his body heat up and something getting weirdly hard on his pants. He had to ignore it? But the moan you left as soon as his fingers came in contact with your scalp once again made him call your name:
“Y/N, please. I can't take it anymore…” You turned off the water and turned around, not caring about him being able to see your chest, that had some shampoo on them.
“Chris, i can't do this either…” You whispered, staring at him in the eyes.
Even though his body was screaming for him to look at your nude chest, he kept eye contact with you as he got closer to you. It was now or never, the perfect moment to kiss you.
Christopher’s lips were softer than you thought, and you wanted to bite them. His heart-shaped lips molded perfectly with yours and complimented them.
They were pressed up against yours on a long peck that made you frustrated. So, tired of it, you grabbed his face between your small hands and forced him stronger against your mouth. Chan seemed to get the message, and his tongue came in contact with your bottom lip, trying to deepen the kiss.
When you finally felt his tongue against yours you moaned shamelessly, to lost in the feeling to care. He felt perfect for you, he felt like he was made for you… Why did you hold back, when you could have been kissing these lovely lips every day, all day?!
Your lips parted because of the absence of oxygen, and the smile that was displayed on his lips made your heart flutter. Something inside you yelled that he may feel the same for you, from more crazy that it seems.
“I'll wait for you in the kitchen, ok Love?” The Angel suddenly asked, getting up. He was trying his hardest to avoid your chest, but it was stronger than him. Chan got a glimpse of them as he closed the door, but it was enough to make the situation even harder for him.
What both of you didn't know is that what is given, can be taken back as well. Since the both of you committed a sin, The Gifter couldn't be more sure that he had to make the angel stay away from you as soon as possible.

Too much of the world, the name Y/n Todoroki didn’t mean much, but in Japan, many people knew of the family that you came from, and the burden you bear as a child of the current number one pro hero, especially as an upcoming hero yourself. From the moment you were born, you were overlooked because of your quirk. It wasn’t enough for your father, the famous Endeavor, number two pro hero in the country at the time. Yet the moment that your younger brother’s quirk emerged for the first time, less than a year after you, you saw the pride in your father’s eyes and could see what was to happen before it did.
You loved your family fiercely, but you were exceptionally close with Shouto. Less than a year younger than you, the two of you acted as if you were twins your whole lives. You were two sides of the same coin; one side firefly and explosive and the other calm and cool. And for Shouto, you would do anything, including getting your father’s attention off him by training under your old man yourself. You went from a nobody to becoming a hope to many of the future, your fire quirk all but mastered, allowing you to manipulate flames ranging from a roaring orange blaze to a white melting light so bright it hurt to look at. So when you decided to apply for U.A with your brother in his year, having been held back a grade due to being home-schooled to train with your father, it was no surprise that both of you were granted admission by reference to the prestigious school.
It also was no surprise that on your first day of class, you butted heads with the most explosive person in their class. Your fiery red hair matched your father’s temper, something Shouto didn’t seem to have with his calm demeanour. However, you refused to back down from the opportunity to hand Katsuki Bakugou his ass in your first sparring session. From that moment onwards, there was a form of respect between you two as he got up to his feet and growled under his breath.
“Not damn bad Todoroki.”
To say it had shocked you was an understatement, as Bakugou had been nothing but rude to literally everyone so far in his high school career. However, that respect soon became mutual and kept evolving into something more as time passed. You’d become friends of a sort at first, your relationship built on respect, admiration and an unhealthy amount of competitiveness from both sides, but it was your tomboyish nature that seemed to get the mighty Katsuki Bakugou to slowly and begrudgingly lower his walls until you could finally tell the difference between a curse of anger, and one with no bite. Somewhere along the few months of your first year, you had become close friends, training together outside of class time and trying to help your other friends study when they fell behind.
Normally, you would bark right back at Katsuki whenever he decided to boom at Kaminari or Kirishima over their studying habits - or rather lack thereof. But now, as your lungs heave in the crisp air of the night and your bare knees dig into the loose first beneath you, you would do anything just to hear him snap at you once again.
You feel your lungs expand and collapse again with each rattling breath as your brain tries to contemplate what just happened in front of your eyes. You had been with Ochako and Tsuyu when you’d first noticed the Leave of Villains presence, and somehow, you had all ended up together, in the field, watching as Katsuki got pulled into the warp gate, away from you and your friends, and right into the hands of some of the most lethal people in the country.
No, no no no please no. You hunch over and feel a scream threaten to break from your mouth only for someone else’s own yell to erupt instead. You don’t have to look up to know that its Midoriya, and your eyes glisten as you look at your dirt-caked hands. What could you have done better? Why couldn’t you save him? Why had you hesitated against those blue flames that were so much like yours?
“Y/n!” You hear your brother’s concerned voice fill your ears and you see his knees drop in front of you. Dragging your face to meet his gaze, your brother gives you a determined look that has confidence flooding your veins. “It’s going to be alright.” God he is such a hero, always was as a child and always will be. You don’t hold in the tears as they roll down your cheeks. Bakugou was gone… And you didn’t know when he was coming back.
“If you’re going to fucking nap whilst we study, just go to your damn room so you don’t drool on my notes.” There's a tug on a strand of your hair and your head snaps up from its resting place upon your crossed forearms towards the voice. Red crimson eyes meet yours and a scoff slips from the ash-blondes lips as he looks over your face.
“I don’t drool.”
“Yes you fucking do.” Katsuki glares at you, but there's no bite to it as he looks back down at his textbook and continues to copy notes.
“How long did I sleep for?”
“Almost an hour. Too damn long though if you ask me. If you were too tired to study, you could have fucking told me so dumbass.” You reach your arms above your head and groan as the muscles stretch, immediately becoming less stiff and sore.
“I’m not too tired to study, I just need coffee is all.” You reply, going back to your laptop and try to continue working on your assignment due in a few weeks. Being close friends with Bakugou had its perks, which included becoming great at organizing your school work and not procrastinating as much.
“You seem a lot more tired recently.” Katsuki’s words shock you and you look over the screen of your laptop to him with raised eyebrows. It’s at your look that you watch his walls go back up and he jumps on the defensive.
“I didn’t know you cared so much Katsu!” you tease.
“Shut up dumbass, you’re lucky your already my fucking girlfriend or else I wouldn’t date you.” he growls, but you see the slight twitch at his lips at the empty threat. But that somewhat smile drops as he speaks again. “You’ve been training more with Endeavor right?” He tries again, and you immediately lean back, allowing the incoming train wreck of a conversation to happen right before your eyes.
“Yes.”
“Yes? That's all I fucking get?” There's a bite to his words now, and Katsuki looks genuinely pissed off, and you find yourself getting mad the more his temper rises.
“What do you want me to say? I train with my dad a few times a week to help strengthen my quirk.” You say shrugging. “I want to be number one Katsuki, and I have the weapons in my arsenal, so why wouldn’t I use them?”
“Because they’re affecting your school work. Fucking damn it Y/n I saw you fall asleep in our calculus class today.” Katsuki growls and you know that he’s right, but you won’t ever admit it. Straightening your spine, you raise your chin and glare right back into his vermillion gaze.
“That's because maths is boring.” You try to defend, but you know it doesn’t look good. It’s true that training with your father had been kicking your ass recently, where you found yourself making mistakes you hadn’t made since you were a kid. You had damned burnt yourself only yesterday on your shoulder because you had been distracted. But you couldn’t help it, for some reason your sleep had been plagued with a horrifyingly vivid replay of the day you weren’t strong enough to save the boy in front of you, and every night it ended differently. In some, you saw them take him, and in others, you watched those cobalt blue flames erupt over his body, and you heard his screams and watched helplessly from where you stood, physically unable to move.
“I want to cuddle.” Your sudden change of direction makes Katsuki gape at you as if you had sprouted a second head, and you can’t help but smile.
“What happened to I’m not fucking tired?” He asks as you get up from your seat and drag yourself over to his bed.
“I lied.” you shrug, immediately burrowing yourself under his sheets, and breathing in his scent. He’s here, its okay… you close your eyes and just breathe for a while, letting the familiar smell wash over you and calm your mind.
There’s a groan and you can’t help but smile as Katsuki gets into the bed next to you, pulling you into his arms with a curse.
“For five fucking minutes. Then I need to keep studying.”
“Okay,” you agree, rolling over to face him. Gently resting your head on his chest, his steady heartbeat fills your ears and you breathe out a sigh you didn’t know you were holding.
“Is your insomnia back?” He asks out of the blue, and you hold yourself from flinching at the word.
It had been almost a year from when Katsuki had been kidnapped by the league of villains, and you had thought you were getting better - but you have regressed significantly. The insomnia you created due to being scared of the nightmares in your first year returned with a vengeance until you were reliving that night every time you close your eyes.
You have never mentioned to him just what caused your insomnia, and you didn’t really want to, purely afraid of seeming weak in front of your boyfriend.
“Yeah,” is all you get out before nerves stop you from saying the rest.
“When did it start?” he asks, but the calm tone of his voice alerts you to the fact that somehow, your hot but too intelligent boyfriend already figured it out and just wants you to confirm it.
“Kamino.” The room is completely silent and for a moment, you’re not sure if either of you are even moving. But then, there's a familiar tug at your hair and you close your eyes as Katsuki begins to gently play with your red hair. “I know none of it's my fault, that I can't put it on my shoulders, that I wasn’t strong enough to help you, but sometimes… I don’t know.” It gets to me. It scares me more than anything else. Is what you want to say, but can’t bring yourself to. But Katsuki is very aware of those around him, and already knows what you’re trying to say, and gently releases your hair and softly tips your chin to face him.
“It wasn’t your fault, and it wasn’t mine either. What happened is in the past, and nothing is going to separate us like that again, got it dumbass?” He says with such conviction that tears crease in the corners of your eyes.
“I love you,” you blurt out, not caring that you said it for the first time here and now, or that you were the first person to even say it, for the words just felt right. Right now, and in this moment where you bare your heart to him. Katsuki is grinning feral down at you and immediately smashes your mouth to his, ignoring your shocked squeak that lasts but a second before you get dragged under a haze that seems to make you lose the capacity to think when you’re around Katsuki. And kissing him? Well you basically only have one brain cell during those moments, and the only thing it cares about is Katsuki Bakugou, and how soft his lips are. Katsuki weaves his fingers into your hair and you let out a shaky breath as he pulls away from the kiss. Although he’s close, he’s looking you in the eyes with so much happiness you find yourself grinning back at him.
“I love you too even though you piss me the fuck off.” Rolling your eyes at the blatant disrespect you push away from your boyfriend and roll to the other side of the bed.
“I take it back, I don’t love you. I despise you - Katsuki!” you squeal as he yanks you mid sentence back to him and rolls over so you’re pinned beneath him.
“The blatant disrespect from you that I put up with makes me a fucking saint.” He smirks and you burst into laughter as he places a single kiss on his cheek.
“You want to talk about disrespect? I could be here all day with a list from here to the fucking Tokyo Tower with all the crap you’ve said hotshot!” You grin back, and your smile has Bakugou leaning down and pressing another gentle kiss to your lips. Your heart soars inside your chest at the contact, and the dark cloud that had been hovering around you today seems to dissipate as you meet his eyes.
“I’m never fucking leaving you alone, got that through your stubborn skull y/n? Not even your shitty brother will deter me from it, even though icy hot annoys me more than you when your hangry.” You chose to ignore the dig at your brother because you’ve come to learn to pick your fights with Katsuki as your boyfriend, but now, in his arms as he rolls and pulls you into his chest once more, you’re more than content to just stay here forever. As his heartbeat fills your ears and you feel your eyes grow heavier and heavier, for the first time all week, you’re not afraid to fall asleep.
Because even though your nightmares are frightening, your boyfriend is way scarier and he would always be by your side.

EXO D.O. Series: You and Me. (P4)
Series Page
Genre/Desc: Loosely adapted from A Love So Beautiful
Chr: u x ksoo
Word Count:1.2k
You slept through your alarm that rang at 6am. Your brain cells were overworked yesterday night, as you thought about what you saw.
Just as the brightness of the sun cast through your room window, your mum came banging on your door to wake you up.
Without Kyungsoo to go school with... Your motivation to get up was almost zero. You unwillingly got out of bed and trudged your way to the bathroom.
By this time, you normally would already be waiting by kyungsoo’s gate. But not today .. You didn’t know if you wanted to see him or not.
Who’s that girl? He left me alone for 20 minutes... he didn’t even think about me who’s waiting there right?
Feeling down, you didn’t even eat your breakfast. Taking the sandwich on the table you left home.
On your way down, you suddenly thought
would Kyungsoo be waiting for me downstairs? What should I say if I saw him? Should I just walk pass him?
Exiting your apartment, you searched around for kyungsoo. But like another stab to your heart, he didn’t wait for you.
In even more of a mood now, you headed to school alone.
-
‘Y/N~~ why so late today? Where’s kyungie? Don’t you guys always come to school together?’
Coincidentally meeting woohyun at the school gate, he chirpily asked
‘Ah.. i overslept..’ you could barely even make a smile in your reply
He stopped walking and pulled you to a halt, taking a close up look at your face.
‘Ya, did you really oversleep or have you been ditched by him? Do you want me to give him a kick’ he asked half seriously and jokingly.
Feeling annoyed, you pushed him away, ‘it’s a long story.. don’t ask’
‘Damn , I knew there’s more than it meets the eye. Cheer up, you’ve got me to spice up your day’ he put his arms over you and walked into class together.
Passing by Kyungsoo to get to your seat, you could feel his eyes following you. Without greeting him or acknowledging him, you sat down and started pulling out your notebooks.
From the side of your eye, you could see him switching between looking at his notes and at you.
Did he have something to say? I’m not going to talk to you first, kyungsoo.
‘Y/N..’ just as he finally called out to you, your class monitor called for the class’s attention to greet the teacher.
Making no effort to follow up on what he wanted to say, you pretended to pay attention to whatever the teacher was saying.
Kyungsoo himself held tightly onto the ‘no talking during class’ rule, so he didn’t continue the conversation he wanted to make either.
When break time finally came, you can’t help but still felt awkward with Kyungsoo. You didn’t really want to hang out with him with now, with yesterday’s incident still a fresh wound.
‘Woots! Cafeteria let’s go let’s go!’ Woohyun got up excitedly
But you remained in your seat and looked up at him
‘You guys go ahead, I still have my breakfast with me. I’ll stay in class’
Woohyun looked behind you, where you Kyungsoo was, seeming to understand you were trying to avoid him
‘Y/N are you ...’ Kyungsoo started but was cut off by woohyun
‘Okay then, we will go ahead without you’
Once again, Kyungsoo held back his words. But from the corner of your eye, you saw kyungsoo’s shuffling his feet. Was he unsure whether to go or not?
‘Tell me if you need anything’ woohyun leaned across to your table to tell you. You ruffled his hair and smiled, showing that you appreciate him.
Whatever it was, he ended up leaving you in the classroom to eat your already cold sandwich, without a word.
-
When you came back from the toilet, Kyungsoo and woohyun were already back from the cafeteria.
‘Got sipping yoghurt for you and melon pan, just incase you faint from being hungry’ woohyun pointed at the snacks on your desk just as you sat down.
‘Omo, woori woohyunie is really the best!’
‘Of course, but give me something in return’ he shot you a flirty look
His suggestive looks made you go off tangent on your thinking right away.
‘Are you asking me to be your girlfriend?!’ You exclaimed in shock. The entire class’s attention was now on the both of you
Woohyun quickly covered your mouth and pulled you out of the class, you make a grab for your yoghurt as he dragged you.
‘Ya! Are you crazy ?! Why would I ask you to be my girlfriend?’ the both of you were now at the corridor
‘how would I know.. ? You looked like it alright ! Plus I mean you’re always so nice to me...’ you innocently said
Flicking your forehead he clarified
‘I just wanted to know what happened between the both of you. Kyungsoo either doesn't want to say it or seems to have no clue what’s going on.’
‘Oh that... yesterday while we were studying, we went to buy some drinks from the vending machine. Then..’
You couldn’t bear to say the words out
‘Then what? You confessed your love or something?’
Woohyun eagerly probe
‘We forgot our wallets, so he was supposed to go back up to take it.
But he left me there waiting for 20minutes while he spoke to some pretty noona’
Your heart was heavy just thinking about that. But Woohyun burst out laughing instead
‘I thought it was something really serious you know, y/n, like something that could tear our friendship . But this ...’ and he continued laughing
‘Ya... I’m just sad about this cause I felt abandoned okay... can’t you understand’
Stifling his laughter, he tried his best to comfort you
‘Alright, I know. Like you aren’t important enough for him to remember you are waiting there.
Don’t think too much about it y/n, you know Kyungsoo doesn’t casually hit anyone up or entertain people. It’s probably something significant ok?’
Though his words didn’t really get to you, you were still thankful, till he added
‘But... y/n ah Kyungsoo is still a high school boy. I think pretty noonas are still part of our interests compared to......’
He deliberately scanned his eyes up then down at you.
You got what he was trying to get at and threw a punch at him which evolved into a childish fight.
As if the timing couldn’t be better, Kyungsoo came out of the classroom door and caught sight of the both of you tangled in a ‘fight’.
His eyes widened just slightly, and he visibly swallowed.
‘The class monitor’s looking for the both of you to hand in your work before the next period’
His voice suddenly changed to the voice he use when he felt awkward with new people. Without making eye contact with either of you, he hurriedly turned on his heels.
Internally face palming yourself a thousand times, you whined
‘Woohyun ah, it’s so awkward now! What excuse should I give to not go home with him today?’ You were in a dilemma. You caused this awkwardness but it feels like you were more scared than him at this persisting situation
‘No worries y/n, he’s got something after school today. I’ll get you snacks you missed out on yesterday ok? Let’s go back to class now’
Entering the class, you caught kyungsoo’s eyes turn away from the back door that instance.
Somehow..
You had this feeling that he had been looking at it for a long time.
Or maybe you were hoping he was
