Had to ask for a religious/ethical exemption for a digital art assignment to get out of having to use genAI. On an assignment. In university. I feel like I’m going insane.

The professor said he “wasn’t aware that there was any ethical issues with AI”, but that he had no problem coming up with an alternative assignment for me to do. Like I’m glad he’s accommodating but. Sir.

Ok. I understand some rando on the streets not being aware of the ethical issues surrounding genAI. Most people do not have the time and energy to devote to giving a fuck about things that don’t directly affect them and I can respect that. It’s rough out there. But you are a professional graphic designer, and a college professor, in digital art. How. How do you not know. How are you requiring your students to do this in class and just not knowing. Why are you shocked that a student might object to being required to use the Art Theft Glacier Melter 9000 for a grade. This should not be a surprise to you. Why is this a surprise. I have watched all of Riverdale. I've loved most of Riverdale. It really is a terrible sucky show. There is nothing heartwarming about it. The "meta" aspects straight up do not work. It's not even as gay as it should be. I do agree it's stupid. Watch Riverdale.

for someone who's never legally owned a car (he's rented them out a few times, okay? he wouldn't steal a whole ass vehicle), yuri's already quite the pro. drifting, swerving, slamming on the gas... he's got all the important stuff down! going fast comes naturally to him, he supposes, so signing up for a high-octane race with his equally-reckless friend was a no-brainer! doubly so knowing there aren't any street laws holding him back.

Re the last gollum post, reminds me of how my sister once went on a rant about our brother allegedly stealing her phone charger (which he didnt) & being angry at others allegedly taking things without her permission, and then proceeded to ask me to help her find our mom's shoes so she could wear them without asking and earlier that day had also rummaged through my closet specifically so she could wear something of mine also without asking, so honestly Gollum being mad about thievery checks out

god it’s literally so annoying when my sister is like.. trying to make plans and then tacking on all these extra things like “oh we could drive out to the coast and then we could go to dinner at this place and then we could stop at this place on the way back” and it’s like. u mean I… could drive out to the coast.. while u sit in the passengers seat.. and get mad at me when i need to pay attention to the gps instead of u… and yell at me when i can’t find parking even tho you’ve never had to deal w/ the agony of parking… and never offer a single cent of gas money even tho 90% of the time the plans u suggest end up draining my tank…… sure
