Bones Full of Words, Epilogue
Javier Peña x plus size reader Co-written with @absurdthirst
“He pleaded so much that he lost his voice. His bones began to fill with words.” ― Gabriel García Márquez, One Hundred Years of Solitude
Javier Peña had no way of knowing for certain the American journalist he sometimes sees sniffing around the embassy for her stories is also getting information about the narcos from the same girls that he is. After Helena is brutalized by sicarios, it is that same journalist who comes to take her away and look after her -- giving Javi reason to pause and reconsider his opinion of the woman he had previously not considered as anything more than eye candy.
He has no idea that once she has walked fully into his life, he will be battling with himself over whether or not he should stop her from walking out it of again.

Ch 1 ~ Ch 2 ~ Ch 3 ~ Ch 4 ~ Ch 5 ~ Ch 6 ~ Ch 7 ~ Ch 8 ~ Ch 9 ~ Ch 10 ~ Ch 11 ~ Ch 12
There is nothing unusal at all about the dog being the first one to spot the car, but you're still slightly startled by the commotion when the hound in the living room starts howling to sound the alarm. After that it's the two kids who come scrambling out of their room and bounding down the stairs screaming "Daddy's home!" as if he had been gone more than just a few hours.
The whole brigade has sounded the alarm, and you can't help but grin.
Hearing the dog barking and the kids scrambling around in the house before he ever even hits the door, Javi is chuckling as he grabs the deli bag and his bag filled with papers he will need to read sometime over the holiday break. “Shit.” He hisses, turning back to the car to grab the drink carrier, knowing you would be disappointed if you didn’t get your root beer.
"Boys, you have to let your Dad into the house!" You call, coming out from the kitchen with a dishrag in hand. You had been chopping enough onions to sink a ship and washing the smell off your hands was extremely necessary.
“It’s okay!” Javi calls out, although it’s a juggling act to keep the drinks from spilling as the two exuberant kids launch themselves at him.
"You're going to fall over, babe." It is okay, though, and you're both laughing even as you reach forward over two young boys, one ambling basset hound, and a seven-month pregnant belly to grab multiple bags from his hands. "How was class?"
Javi snorts. “Half the class didn’t show up.” He chuckles. “I don’t blame them, I wouldn’t show up either.” He admits, knowing he had wished he was home with you and the boys rather than sitting in his lecture hall. “‘Professor Peña, whhhhyyyy do we have to do reading over the break?’” he pitches his voice up and imitates one of his students. “I really don’t give a shit if they read it or not, but they annoyed me so I assigned it.”
“Your reading list always makes for interesting dinner conversations, I’m sure.” There’s a grin on your face when he leans over to kiss you then head to switch gears immediately to catch your younger son as he launches himself into daddy’s arms. “It’s Steve’s book isn’t it?”
“Of course it is.” He flashes you a grin before he turns his attention back to his youngest child. “Were you good for mama today?” He asks, knowing that he is the mirror copy of a young Javier. So the answer is probably no.
“Yeah!” Your youngest affirms his innocence wholeheartedly, but you roll your eyes playfully.
“Come on boys, Daddy brought home lunch for everybody so let’s wash up.” It earns Javi another grateful kiss from you, since tuna sandwiches from the shop over by UGA campus are your new pregnancy craving. A tuna sandwich on their toasted oat bread, loaded with veggies and American cheese, with an ice cold root beer. He’s brought you home that same lunch every day for a week, and today he brought lunch for him and the boys too.
After the capture of the Rodriguez brothers and the take down of the entire Cali Cartel, Javier had been told his services were no longer needed in the DEA. Which was fine with him because he was going to tell them to go fuck themselves. He had thought about going back to Laredo, and you did for a month or so, but then a teaching position for criminal justice and political science became available at a respectable college and he took it. It only took two year for the University of Georgia to recruit him for their staff.
The blue house on the edge of campus with its white-trim windows and fenced-in yard has been your home ever since he took the job. The boys have started their lives here despite your oldest being born just before you left Colombia, and when they begged for a puppy last year it had been a beautiful basset puppy waiting for them under the tree on Christmas morning that really tied the bow on this being home.
“How are you and my baby girl doing?” After setting Oscar down to run after his brother, Javier pulls you by the waist to him, his hand moving to rub your stomach lovingly. He adores when you are pregnant and it’s especially sweet since you decided this was the last baby, and a little girl.
"We are not big fans of onions today." You grimace, knowing that it could be worse but that it feels like it's the only thing you've done all morning since getting the boys settled in their playroom. "But Marco came up wtih a new name he wanted to add to the list." The notepad on the refrigerator is where you keep the ongoing list of baby name ideas, and every once in a while the boys or another family member will contribute an idea as well. It was Chucho who ended up naming Oscar, and your brothers had pitched the name Marco originally. Names have become something of a family effort.
“Oh?” Javi hums, impressed by his excitement for the little sister due in February. “What did he come up with?”
The smirk on your face says you know Javi won't be as excited for long, considering his son's current favorite movie. "He would like to name his baby sister Donkey."
“That fucking movie” Javi closes his eyes and sighs, hating the fact he had taken Marco to see Shrek. Even though he loves it better than any other movie in the world. “Please tell me you didn’t write it down?”
"Oh no, I didn't." Your grin turns shit-eating as you point to the refrigerator where Marco's large, shaky handwriting clearly spells out the word and takes up four times as much room as any other name. "He asked to write it himself."
“Well I hate to burst his bubble…” Javi snorts at the slanted handwriting and the misspelled Donky written on the board. “We will not be naming our baby girl that.”
"Of course not." And that is where your expression turns fond again, shaking your head at your oldest baby but proud of him for wanting to contribute to a big family decision. "But I love that he's thinking about it."
“God.” He snorts, grinning at the antics of his children, but like you, he’s proud of them. “So no onions today, huh? Made you gassy?”
"The smell made me sick first thing," you admit. After washing your hands with the kids, the four of you can sit down at the table to have your lunch. "But I powered through. I don't even want to think about the chaos tomorrow would be if I couldn't make stuffing because of an onion aversion."
“You should have let me handle it when I got home.” He frowns at you, huffing slightly. “I know I can’t cook like you, but I can follow directions passably well.”
"I know you can, babe." The smell of tuna is like a balm over your senses when you unwrap your sandwich and you sigh happily. "But you have to go to the airport tonight to pick up our parents, remember?"
“I can do both.” He knows you want to have the perfect holiday, it’s just how you are. Even the few times you had thrown dinner parties in Colombia, you had wanted everything to be just so. Of course you want a family holiday to be perfect. “Let me help you. I know you’ve got to be tired.”
"I've got a plan." Having the biggest house out of your siblings after everyone had settled down and being the first one with kids has meant that the Peña residence in Athens, Georgia is now family holiday headquarters. While you love it, it is also a lot of work, so you've been working on creating a system. "Once everybody gets here this afternoon there will be plenty of childcare and Michael's wife insisted they're getting pizza and salad for everybody for dinner tonight. Paper plates and plastic cups so we don't make more work for ourselves. At that point there will be lots of helping hands and the work will go a lot faster."
“Beer is in the back of the car.” He had picked that up on the way to the deli you love. Thanksgiving wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without some Budweiser while watching the football game. Although he makes sure everything is done and you are sitting beside him before he sits down.
"Perfect. Thank you, cariño." Having a partner for a husband feels like it sets you apart from the other faculty wives that you end up spending time with, but not in ways that you're upset about. While the other ladies are rightfully bitching about how their husbands don't help out around the house or don't do their part with the kids, you tend to just keep your mouth shut. Javier is always there to support you and share the workload, helping to raise the boys as their other parent and not as a third, older child you constantly have to prod at. Right now is a prime example of it, as he gets the boys set up with their shared sandwich so that you can dig in to your lunch right away.
Javi moves to pour the kids juice into their cups. Marco has a Shrek cup and Oscar with his favorite Barney cup and then he cracks open a ginger ale for himself. The days of starting to drink right after coming home are long past him and he doesn’t miss it as much as he might have expected.
"So, Papa's flight lands at 3:00 this afternoon and Grammy's lands at 3:15." You managed to work the flight times out for both of your parents to come in at the best possible time. "Joey and his wife want to rent a car so they'll get down here on their own after they land, and Michael decided to road trip from Chattanooga so they'll probably be in last even though they're aiming for the same time as everyone else." Coordinating the families does take a little work as they grow, but it's work that you're all willing to put in. Especially so all the kids can spend time with their cousins a few times every year and really get to know each other.
“Okay.” He nods and smirks. “I would have driven to Atlanta to pick them up, but I’m happy as hell I don’t have to.” Both his father and your mom opted to fly into the smaller, local airports so they can be with their grandchildren faster.
"It worked out, thank god." The boys are currently engrossed in a conversation about something Saturday-morning-cartoon related that you can't quite catch, so with the first few bites of your sandwich you enjoy the relative peace. They'll be up early tomorrow to see every second of the Macy's parade so any peace you get today is wonderful. "And I am not grappling with your dad's addiction to pecan pie this year. I ordered one from the bakery along with the apple. Homemade pie crust is officially my nemesis."
Javi chuckles and nods. “Good choice” He teases. “Do I need to go brave the stores for anything else?”
"At this point, if we don't have it, it's not ending up on the Thanksgiving table." And that's the final word as far as you're concerned. "The last thing is picking up the pies, and my sisters-in-law already offered to make that trip tonight for us." You smirk, knowing your brothers' soulmates fairly well at this point. It's only been a few years but you're a tight knit family. "If they're willing to do the last errand, I'm not going to begrudge them getting out of the noisy house for a half hour later on."
“Damnit, she figured out why I always make the last run.” Javi grumbles, but he winks at you playfully. He actually enjoys when the house is in chaos and noisy. Far different from his own solitude for so many years. He’s less in his own head these days.
"Big time." You grin at him, stifling your laughter by having another bite of lunch. "You're the one who wanted a big house, babe. The price we pay is being the holiday house."
"I don't mind it." He had insisted the kids all be able to have their own rooms and he had wanted you to have a dedicated office as well as him. That required a big house.
As it does so often with him now, your smile softens at the edges. "I don't either. And it's going to be even nicer not having to bundle three kids into the car or onto a plane a couple of times a year to see family."
"Well, we had already agreed that the kids having their holidays at home was the most important thing." He reminds you. "Luckily our parents agreed and are willing to come to us."
"Marco gave us that privilege," you remind him, glancing over at your boys. "My mother would have flown to Timbuktu to see her first grandbaby."
"That's true." Your mother had been upset when you hadn't wanted her to come to Colombia for the last month of your pregnancy and the birth. She had flown to Texas to meet him as soon as the three of you had returned to the States.
“And honestly I’m glad that we’re close enough for your dad to get here without much trouble.” Chucho is still pretty spry for his age but that doesn’t mean you aren’t grateful for the quick flights between Laredo and Athens.
"I think dad enjoys flirting with the flight attendants." Javi jokes, shooting you a smirk.
“Probably,” you agree, smirking even though you shake your head. Chucho isn’t the kind of guy who would make trouble, so it’s harmless as long as the attendants don’t mind. “Gives the waitresses at his bar a break.”
"He's asked about your mother a lot." He waggles his brows suggestively. "We might have to put bells on our parents at night. Make sure they stay in their rooms."
“Nothing could be weirder.” The look of absolute confusion and discomfort in your face is immediate. “Our family tree does not need to tangle that way.”
He laughs at the abject horror in your eyes and reaches over to squeeze your knee under the table. "I'm teasing, sweetheart." He promises. "Pop asks about your mom, but only in a friendly kind of way." He can't be offended at your reaction, he would have the same kind of instinct if he heard something like that.
“Oh thank god.” You huff, trying to recompose yourself. “I know we live in the south. But we don’t need to be a stereotype.”
He huffs again, amused as you continue to shake your head. "Pop has started seeing another widow, someone from that support group you turned him on to." He had never really thought about his dad needing to talk to other widowers who had lost their soulmates, but you had seen it. Another reason he loves how you have folded into his life so perfectly. You softened his rough edges and noticed the unspoken needs of both of the Peña men.
“Oh good!” That seems to wipe the other thought clean from your mind. “I mean I didn’t show him those groups thinking he’d start dating, just that having some friends who went through what he did would be good for him.”
"Mama wouldn't have wanted him to be alone for the rest of his life." That he knows, having discussed it with her when it had become clear she wasn't beating her cancer. She had known that Javier could and would hold a grudge if he had thought it was disrespectful to her memory. So she had made her wishes clear to her only son. "It is good for him. He said he feels like a kid again."
“I wish we had known before.” Having devoted half your sandwich already, you reach for your soda. “I would’ve have invited her, too. Though in sure she has her own family to see.”
"She is visiting her grandchildren." He nods. "Although pop said he might ask us to come out to Texas this summer to meet her?"
“Absolutely.” That sounds just like your father-in-law. Chucho plans for the long term much better than short term in all areas of his life. “By then our little girl should be okay to travel a bit.”
Javi grins. "I think that was his plan. Show off his newest grandbaby."
“Donkey!” Marco supplies cheerily, having heard his mother say the word girl.
Javi rolls his eyes and sighs heavily while you giggle. "I'm glad you think this is funny." He huffs quietly.
“I have final veto naming rights on anything that comes out of my body,” you remind him with a smug grin. “Of course I think it’s funny.”
"Thank God for that." He rolls his eyes again and gets up when he sees your drink is finished to get you a glass of water.
“You won’t be saying that if I name her something ridiculous in a fit of sleepless silliness.”
"I don't think you want to give our daughter a name that will embarrass her." He points out and licks his lips before voicing something that he's been thinking about since finding out that that baby is a girl. "Is it strange or inappropriate that I was thinking about Helena for a middle name?" He asks softly, watching you to gauge your reaction.
“Oh.” That makes you pause, but when he puts the glass of water down in front of you, you reach for his hand rather than the glass. “I—I actually think that’s so nice,” you admit with tears in your eyes. Though your contact with Helena has waned slightly in the years since she moved to America, you still send each other letters a few times a year to keep up. “Someone we both love dearly…I think that’s a very sweet gesture.”
“I—” he flounders slightly. “She is the reason we found each other.” He murmurs. “The reason we have this life, our children.”
"She is." He is completely correct, and you squeeze his hand tightly for just a brief moment. Now that he's suggested it, there is no other possibility in your mind. "Whatever we pick, it has to go with Helena."
Javi sighs softly, smiling at you before he leans down and presses his lips to yours. “I wasn’t sure how you would like the idea.” He admits. After all, both of you had slept with her, so it could have been a horrible idea in your mind.
"I don't think it's a conventional decision, but we aren't very conventional people." Looking around the table, though, and then back up at him, you shrug. "At least, we didn't used to be."
He chuckles at that and shoots you a grin. “We have slipped into domesticity with surprising ease, haven’t we?” He asks you.
"We really have," you agree, leaning up to kiss him again when the phone on the wall rings.
"You stay there." Javi pulls back and points at you, knowing you would try to heft your pregnant belly out of the chair to rush over to the phone. "I’ll get it." He steps over to the phone and picks it up, reminding himself that he needs to get another cordless phone set so you can just carry one around. It would make it easier and the last one had been broken by the movers. "Peña residence." He answers.
“Hey mijo!” Chucho’s voice is cheery through the cracking connection of the cellphone that Javier had bought him to have while he traveled. “I just boarded and that gorgeous wife of yours said to call before I left Texas.”
“Hey pop.” He twists his body around and winks at you. “Yeah, she worries about you.” He tells his father while watching you. “Didn’t want you to get lost in the airport and miss Thanksgiving dinner.”
“Not a chance.” Chucho chuckles at that. “Tell my grandsons I’ll be there soon, okay?”
“They will be looking forward to it.” He promises and then hangs up the phone after Chucho says goodbye.
“Is Papa here?” Oscar asks hopefully, having heard his father refer to Pop and knowing that holidays mean his favorite family member in the whole world will be coming to play Spacemen with him.
“He will be in just a few hours.” Javi lifts a brow. “If you take a nap, he will be here as soon as you wake up and you will have allllllll the energy to play.” He’s not above making a nap sound like a good thing. Not if it lets you get a nap while he’s gone to pick up the parents.
"All done!" Your youngest announces with an enormous amount of ceremony, pushing away his plate – which actually is empty – and throwing up his hands as it was proof of having finished his lunch.
“Good job, buddy.” Fatherhood has taught Javier a patience he never knew he could have, and he’s been rewarded for it. His boys are already far better than he ever was and he knows they will only become better men than he ever could claim to be.
Getting the boys down for a nap is one of Javier’s best Dad chores, but when he comes back down twenty-five minutes later with the baby monitor in hand you both breathe a sigh of relief. “They missed you this morning,” you tell him, smiling softly over the kitchen clean up. “So did I.”
He hums, knowing that he had missed them too. “Too bad I can’t just lecture from my office.” He shrugs, moving over to where you are rinsing the glasses and softly shooing you out of the way. “Go sit sweetheart.” He huffs. “I know your back is hurting.”
"I won't fight you on that." Your back was a bit of an issue with your second pregnancy so you know Javi is being extra watchful this time around. The balance is good, though. Otherwise you would just go-go-go as much as possible.
“I know you didn’t get any writing done between the kids being out of school and prepping for tomorrow.” He talks as he continues the chore and loads the dishwasher beside the sink. “But how’s the chapter coming along?”
“Honestly I’m a little blocked,” you admit, leaning back in your chair and sighing at the slight relief on your back and belly. “I’m hoping that focusing on family this weekend shakes some words loose.”
“They will come.” He knows that. You are too good of an author for words to fail you. “Anything else you need to prep tonight?” He asks.
“I can wait until more people get here and hand out prep jobs. We like sitting around the table and bitching while we work.” It’s practically a family pastime, if you’re honest. Which is why it’s so fun. “There’s a few things to do but we’ll manage okay.”
“Sooooo.” He closes the door to the dishwasher and stands straight, turning around while he wipes his hands in a dishrag. “What about a nap for mama?”
"Could." You agree, folding your hands under your belly to support the bump. "But Mama missed Daddy and wants to actually see him a little."
He smirks and pushes off the counter to move over and lean down for a kiss. “How about I lay down with you until I need to leave for the airport?” He offers. “I’ll even rub your back.”
"You tryin’ to get me into bed, Peña?" You raise one eyebrow at him and smirk, pointing to your belly. "That's what got us this in the first place."
He smirks again. “Oh I know.” He grunts. “I was there for the whole thing.” You are absolutely irresistible to him when you are pregnant, even more than normal. He loves you carrying his babies. Although, right now he’s simply trying to get you to rest. He worries about you taking on too much this late in the pregnancy.
"Okay, okay." It's not difficult to see the worry in this eyes, and you put up one hand in defeat. "Help me up, love? We can snuggle in bed until it's time for you to leave."
“Okay.” You gave in far too easily, telling him that you are more exhausted than he imagined.
“I’m okay.” At the top of the stairs he is practically cradling you and you kiss his cheek in reassurance. “It’s just third trimester, that’s all.”
“I’m going to worry.” He’s good at that, but the worry over his family is far more meaningful than worrying about sicarios and drug dealers
“I know.” And just the fact of it brings a soft smile to your lips. “I love you, too.”
******
“You look amazing.” Your mother beams at you, eager to see her glowing daughter happy in your last months of pregnancy. “You’re carrying low, I’m so surprised it was a little girl on the ultrasound.” She teases. “What are you going to do if she was hiding a little thingy?” She works as she asks, filling the little tartlets that will be the appetizers first thing.
“We’ll be just as happy to have another boy if it turns out that way.” You promise your mother. While she fills the ham and cheese tarts for the appetizer table, you’re making the stuffing for the mushroom caps, and on your other side your oldest brother is making his jalapeño popper dip.
“Oh I know you will.” She assures you. “Javier is a wonderful father and you make me so proud.” Her voice cracks up a little, looking over into the living room where Chucho is keeping the boys entertained and Javier is diligently cleaning up when one of the boys had broken the rule of ‘no drinks in the living room’ and spilled it on the carpet in his excitement to see his family. “You have an amazing little family.”
“It won’t be so little pretty soon.” Michael’s soulmate, your sister-in-law Maria, reminds the table happily. Being in her first trimester with their first baby, she is sharing in the joy of pregnancy very happily. “Five counts as a big family, I think.”
“Not as big as some, but nowadays some couples are only have one child.” Your mother tuts, as if only having one child is an offense.
"Mom..." You shoot her a warning glance, reminding her silently that Javi is an only child. "All we care about is the kids being healthy and happy. One or two or three... it doesn't matter."
She grimaces and glances towards the living room, remembering that detail. She knows from talking to Chucho, they had wanted a big family. “You are right.” She quickly agrees. “Healthy.”
"Especially since this is the last one." Both of your families know that you're planning on a more permanent form of birth control for your family now. It didn't seem kind or reasonable to let your parents keep wondering if more and more grandkids would keep coming. "The only things I'm birthing after this little girl are books."
“How is your next book coming?” Her eyes widen with anticipation. “When I tell you, the book club is salivating over your last one, I mean they have extended the read.”
"I'm pretty sure your book club are my advanced sales every time," you laugh, grateful to your mother for all of her support in keeping your dreams alive and being just as proud of you as she possibly could be. Your family have really been your biggest cheerleaders. "This one is coming on a little more slowly."
"Pregnancy brain?" Your sister-in-law only half jokes. She's already experiencing some of that for herself.
"Absolutely." More laughter is shared at the table. "Pregnancy brain and being tired all the time."
Chucho ignores your protest and makes it a game, the boys competing for who can make mama the most comfortable.
"I was trying to prevent a fuss." Even though you direct the comment at your husband it seems to fall on deaf ears as everyone moves around again, and your other brother takes over making your mushroom recipe so you can go and lay down. Chucho and the boys have moved the pillows around the couch for you and while Marco is ready to give Mama and Baby Sis cuddles, Oscar has offered up his favorite teddy for your comfort as well. It's moments like those -- the most meaningful gestures from your young kids -- that tell you unquestionably that you and Javier are doing a good job. At their ages your boys have gotten past most struggles with sharing and have instead become compassionate kids who want everyone around them to be happy.
Javi grins as he brings you a Shirley Temple in a cup with a lid and straw. “You think a fuss wasn’t going to be made over you this weekend?” He huffs in amusement.
"I'm not the only pregnant woman in the house," you point out, gesturing toward your sister-in-law who is still sitting at the table.
“But I’m not as pregnant as you are.” She snorts, smirking when you huff. “You can cater to me when I’m about to pop, okay?”
"Thiry-two weeks still has a little way to go," you argue, though you sigh measurably when one of the couch throw pillows hits your back just right. It really is hell on the body to be pregnant, that's for damn sure.
“I hoping for a Christmas baby.” Your mother admits and Javi snorts, shaking his head. “Don’t put that on our baby girl.” He huffs playfully. “She would hate her birthday falling on a holiday where her brothers get gifts too.”
“Healthy and happy.” Michael recites your mantra for you, since you’re a little still trying to get comfortable. “But yeah, Ma. Don’t wish a Christmas birth on your grandkid. That’s hard for anybody.”
Your mother sighs softly and shrugs. “You’re right. I was just thinking about how wonderful the birthday pictures would be.” She admits with a laugh.
“What if we made a flower wreath for her, Mom?” You offer, setting it as nondenominational but evoking that beautiful celebration that she imagines. “An oval one big enough to lay her in for pictures?”
“That would be lovely!” Her eyes light up at the possibility. “She would look so beautiful.” The baby isn’t bore, but she already knows she will be the prettiest baby. “I loved your baby pictures.”
"And you'll love your granddaughter's too." Even through another wince, you have no problem promising your mother that. She has loved every picture of each of her grandkids and you know the next will be no exception.
Javi doesn’t notice this next pain since he’s walking back into the kitchen, but Chucho does. Glancing at you and then at his watch discreetly. “Boys, I think it’s time for bed.” He announces after a moment. “Do you want to say goodnight to everyone?”
Marco and Oscar go around giving good night hugs and kisses to everyone individually before Chucho volunteers to bring them upstairs and go through their nighttime routine with them. He always brings a new book of kids stories with him whenever he visits and this is no exception, so doubtless he'll read them a brand new bedtime story tonight as well.
Javi fixes everyone else drinks, another Shirley Temple for your sister-in-law and wine for Michael and your mother. He cracks open a beer for himself, but he doesn’t take a drink yet, waiting for his pop to come back downstairs.
When Chucho does finally reappear in the living room, he wipes his hands off in a show of a job well done. "They needed two stories, but they're out now," he tells you and Javi happily.
“That’s good.” Javi hands his father a beer and motions him into the living room. “Go keep your favorite daughter company.” He tells him. “I’ll help finish up the food.”
"I can make a little room," you offer, starting to shift on the couch.
“No, you stay put.” Chucho insists, taking the recliner next to the couch where Javi would normally sit and watch the news. “You need some rest.”
"I was fine all day." A fact which frustrates you to no end. Only starting to feel exhausted and a little unwell after your nap is a nuisance. "This is just a pain in the ass."
You wince again and Chucho hums, glancing down at his watch again. “Each time is different.” He reminds you. “You were so sick with Oscar the first few weeks.”
"This is Marco's fault," you joke, not meaning a word of it. "My first pregnancy was easy right until the end and it made me think more would be the exact same way."
He chuckles as he sets his beer down. “You were floating on air when you were in Colombia. Even with the stress Javi was under.”
"It was our honeymoon phase." As patently absurd as that might sound to anyone else, it's true. You and Javi were as blissful in your actual relationship at that time as any other pair of soulmates could hope to be.
“He has really changed with you in his life.” Chucho admits. “I used to worry about that phone call, you know the one I mean. Knowing how easily Javi would follow someone to hell to do the right thing - in his mind - it was hard to let him live his life.” He smiles. “When you came back to him, he was determined to do things right. To be the best man he could and I think he’s done it. Not that he was ever bad but his rough edges have been smoothed out by you.”
"We did that for each other, really." Reaching over, you set your hand on Chucho's and give his a gentle squeeze. "I needed him to soften and bolster me just as much as he needed me."
He turns his hand and his smile widens when your little grunt of pain comes again. Almost silent if he wasn’t looking for it. “And soon, your family will be complete.” He murmurs.
"Just a few more weeks." Your other hand soothes over your belly, urging this to just go away. If it's the baby being active, you want her to calm down. If its Braxton Hicks contractions, you're just going to have to wait until they pass. Either way you just want to get past it.
“More like a few hours, mija” He chuckles. “You are in labor.”
"It's probably just Braxton Hicks." Saying it out loud, the thought in your head, makes you firm on the point. The best you can do is just shake your head and press on. You've had two babies, already. You would surely know if you were really in labor.
“Pains are about twelve minutes apart.” He tells you, leaning back and smirking and looking very much like his only son.
"Pops." You groan, throwing him a pout. "You've been timing me?"
He snorts. “That’s your gripe right now?” He shakes his head. “You’re perfect for my son. I will say it again.”
"It's just Braxton Hicks. I'm not going to the hospital." The warning in your voice ends up making it rise and three heads whir in your direction.
“You don’t have to go yet.” He promises, reaching out and patting your hand gently.
"Hospital?" Your mother looks up, finding Javi's eyes with worry.
Javi glances over at you and knows what you’ve been trying to deny. “She’s in labor. Has been for a few hours.” He trusts you to know your body, even if you are denying it right now. You might not want to believe it, but you wouldn’t put your baby in any risk.
It’s like hearing it from your husband cracks the dam, and the near-instant spring of tears to your eyes makes your voice waver too. “I can’t be in labor!” You sniffle, dropping your head back on the couch. “It’s Thanksgiving!”
Javi stifles a chuckle and moves over to you from the kitchen, kneeling down beside you and cupping your cheek. “It just means we will have to be extra Thankful this year, sweetheart.”
“But what if she doesn’t like pumpkin pie?” Is, probably, the silliest worry and most ridiculous sentence to ever come out of your mouth, but it’s clear that the extra emotions and hormones and worries flooding through you are in control of your thoughts at the moment.
Everyone starts to chuckle and Javi grins at you. “There’s always pecan pie.” He reminds you, kissing your hand.
“I know how stupid I sound,” you huff, laughing along with them in spite of yourself, and look back at Javi with concern. “She’s early,” you point out, concern lining your eyes. Marco Was born four days after your due date and your labor with Oscar started in the wee hours of the morning on your due date. Early is a new concept for you.
“It’ll be okay, sweetheart.” Even though that worry is one he shares, right now his job is to keep you calm. “Why don’t we go out to the hospital and make sure?”
“I haven’t even packed my hospital bag yet.” He’s right. You know he is. That especially if the baby is going to come early, you should be at the hospital and not take any chances. But you just haven’t gotten yourself ready yet. “I guess it doesn’t matter now?”
“Tell me what you want.” Your mother is abandoning the food and immediately jumping to her feet. “I’ll go pack you a bag.”
You describe the place in your closet that you keep your most comfortable clothes and are specific about the ones you want packed, also asking her to add your slippers and a few hygiene items to your yoga bag.
The onesie you’ll bring your baby girl home in is the same one her brothers were brought home in too, and having goes to get that from the laundry room once you’re on your feet. “Honey?” You stop him in his tracks, but a smile is peaking through your nerves. “Don’t forget to grab the list from the fridge.”
“I won’t forget.” He doesn’t remind you that he’s done this three times now, but he knows you are starting to panic slightly. “I’ll double check it.
“Thank you.” With a heavy sigh and a hiss of pain, you look around at your brother, sisters-in-law, and your father-in-law and half-laugh. “I guess she just really wants to meet everyone.”
“I’ll stay here with the boys.” Chucho tells you, wanting you to feel good about having to leave tonight.
“And we’ll come back first thing in the morning to keep Chucho and the boys company.” Joey promises. With his own soulmate pregnant they had booked a hotel room this year, but nothing will stop them from being on board to keep their nephews busy while Mama welcomes the newest member of the family. “In fact…” He glances at Michael, who nods. “Mickey and I are going to cook dinner. Everything we planned on and have prepped. So tomorrow when the baby’s here we can bring you Thanksgiving dinner.”
“Sounds like we’ve got everything planned.” Chucho chuckles as Javi starts cursing from upstairs. “Let me go help him with your list, mija.”
“Of course.” It wouldn’t do any good to remind them that you can still waddle upstairs — no one in this house would ever let you.
He disappears upstairs and everyone starts to move, getting things together and murmuring about what you might need at the hospital.
It's an hour before Javi is pulling the car up to the emergency room door, and by this point you're past denying that you're in labor. Your mother opted to drive her rental car behind the two of you to be with you in case a second pair of hands is needed, and you're climbing out of the car with Javi's help when she pops up on the sidewalk next to you.
“Let me get the bags.” She insists. “You get her inside, Javier.” He barely resists rolling his eyes and smirks at you slightly. “Sure thing.”
"Inherited trait." You hum under your breath, knowing that both your boys are stubborn as well.
“Don’t I know it.” He huffs, as if he’s not just as stubborn as you, maybe more so. Love and marriage, having children has taught you both to compromise a little more than you would normally, but the only place Javier will never compromise is yours and the boys’ safety and welfare. “I’ve got you.” He holds tight when another contraction hits you and you have to stop walking to concentrate on breathing.
"I can check you in." The nurse at the desk waves to Javier to get his attention.
He cuts his eyes up, his expression not exactly relieved. “Maybe after my wife finishes her contraction.” He snorts.
She smiles, polite and professional, but already has one hand on the phone to call up to Labor and Delivery as soon as she has a patient name. “Whenever you’re ready.”
Only when you sigh softly, the signal that the pain has passed, does Javier even attempt to urge you forward. “Come on sweetheart.” He chuckles. “The sooner we get to a desk, the sooner you get to ride in the wheelchair.”
“Yes please.” It will be a relief to be whisked around the hospital in a wheelchair instead of hobbling around trying to balance between contractions, and you give Javi’s hand a grateful squeeze before letting go to pull your ID and insurance card out of your purse. The nurse at the counter is sweet enough but you’re rather task oriented at the moment.
“I’ll fill out the paperwork.” Javi tells you, taking the clipboard when it’s offered. “You sit down, sweetheart.” He looks up at the nurse. “She’s six and half weeks early right now.”
“I’ll tell the L&D nurse.” Though the desk nurse betrays no concern the speed at which she picks up the phone says otherwise.
“We’ll get you up in the room, and then the doctor will tell you that everything is fine.” Javi reassures you - and himself. Babies come when they want to, not on your schedule. “Maybe you can even have a glass of wine with Thanksgiving dinner.”
“Maybe.” His demeanor being as calm as it is makes you so grateful you could cry again, but a nurse comes over with a wheelchair to get you situated and soon enough your mother is there beside you again. It is going to be alright; you tell yourself over and over. Because you’re taken care of and your little girl will be, too.
Javi is holding your hand. “You want a drink sweetheart?” He knows that if you are having the baby tonight, soon enough they will limit you to ice chips.
“Might as well, while I still can.” You’re thinking the same thing he is, and gratefully accept the water bottle he hands you. “It’ll be ice chips before too long.”
“Yes it will.” He leans in and presses his lips to your hairline. “I love you, sweetheart.”
“I love you, too.” And that, especially right now, is enough to make the difference.
******
You are definitely in labor. Javi holds your hand and reassures you through the pain. The doctor monitoring your progress for hours until suddenly everything speeds up and you are wheeled into the deliver room, Javier smocked up in a gown and gloves. He’s been present for both of the boys’ births and he’s not missing this.
It’s just after midnight when your little girl makes her squalling entrance into this bright new world, shaking her fists and blinking with wonder at all the new things to see and hear and feel.
Like the boys, Javi cuts the umbilical cord and is the first to hold his daughter when the doctor hands her to him, bringing her up to you. “Our little girl.” He chokes out with tears in his eyes from joy and relief that she seems just perfect.
“She’s perfect.” At five pounds and six ounces she’s a little on the small side, but the doctor seems satisfied that she’s healthy and was just determined to arrive early. “She really is perfect.” You have cried at the arrival of each of your babies and have absolutely no impulse to hide it, open shedding tears of joy as your little girl stares with wide eyes up into your face.
“Just like her mama.” Because of the risk of complications, only he has been allowed in the delivery room, giving you three time together. “She’s our perfect little joy.”
“Joy.” Your eyes turn up to his, barely able to tear them away from your daughter except to smile at your husband. Your soulmate. “Joy is a nice name.” But since you try to infuse their family heritage into each of your children’s names, you end up smiling wider. “Alegría. We could call her Allie for short?”
“Alegría Helena Peña.” He tried out the name and smiles softly, reaching out to caress her still wet hair. “It’s perfect”.
"I love you." Three words murmured to your soulmate when you smile up at him again, and repeated to your baby girl when you can't help but look back down at her again. "And I love you, Alegría. We both love you more than you'll ever know."
It wasn't on the list, but you don't care. The overwhelming happiness of this moment being immortalized by your baby girl's name is a perfect homage to all the unplanned things that have lead you to this point. Sometimes the best laid plans go awry, and sometimes that is exactly what fills you with love and happiness right down to your bones.
After a few more minutes, the nurses take Alegría away to do all the tests and clean her up. Javi holds your hand while other nurses help clean up the afterbirth. “It’s a good thing I got your gift early this year.” He chuckles, kissing your lips again. “I’m so damn proud of you, sweetheart.”
"I'm just glad she's healthy." It was your greatest fear and you know it was his too. Being left alone in that quiet hospital room together is almost deafening in an odd reversal of the sensation after so much commotion during Alegría's birth. "No NICU. No scary uncertainty. Just an eager little preemie who wanted to meet her whole family at once."
“Our Thanksgiving baby.” Javi smiles. “Even though her birthday won’t fall on Thanksgiving every year.”
“November 22.” All you know is that is after midnight, so it’s technically Thanksgiving Day now. “Add that to February 3 for Marco and August 15 for Oscar. Thank God they’re all well spaced out so they never have to share.”
“True.” He flashes you a grin. “Although the boys might be jealous when she gets a special dish on Thanksgiving.” He teases.
“Birthday cake is about to become a Peña Thanksgiving tradition,” you joke, knowing it could well become true.
“Baby, thank you.” His hand is holding yours again and he’s looking at you like you’ve hung the moon. Even though you are tired, sweaty and would probably say you look horrible, you are the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen, right after the birth of all three of his children. “This is for you.” He offers, holding out the small velvet box he had shoved in his pocket hours earlier.
"Cariño." He has become a fan of push presents ever since first hearing about them, and while you always insist they aren't necessary when asked, it is a special kind of keepsake to have an item that reminds you of this moment. The first moments are the births of your children have all been special in their own ways, so you don't protest, but accept the box from him with a kiss. "I love you," you murmur against his lips, savoring the sensation before cracking open the box in your hand.
A beautiful three stone diamond ring winks back at you, the three baguette cut stones lying end to end in the beautifully carved band in the same metal as both your engagement band and wedding band. A third piece to complete the set like your complete set of three beautiful children. "It's beautiful."
“I figured it could be worn on the other side of your wedding band.” He explains, playing with the jewelry in question. Luckily your hands had not swollen with pregnancy like they had with Marco. “Your children represented on one side.” He murmurs softly. “And my commitment to you on the other.”
"Happily. Without hesitation." You lean over to kiss him again, wading through this feeling of exhausted euphoria for all that you can.
The doctors finish with Alegría and bring her back over to you, making Javi smile at the image when you greedily pull her close. “Do you want me to go get your mom?” He asks softly.
"Yes, please." Nodding and sniffling happily at having your daughter back in your arms, you tilt your chin up to ask for one more kiss before he goes. The new ring has settled on your finger comfortably but all of your attention is back on your little girl. "She'll text the rest of the family for us. At least the announcement is easy this time."
“No international phone calls.” He snorts, letting his lips linger on yours before he bends down more and kisses his daughter’s head. “I love you, mija.” He whispers softly, just like he had when you were carrying her. His life has been changed completely by you and the kids. For the better in every way. Javier knows joy, knows peace, and he knows that his family is the most important thing he could ever fight for. He had decided that he couldn’t let you walk out of his life a second time, and it was the best decision he had ever made.

Heyyy! Ok so hear me out..can I request a Modern AU! Aegon x Fem! OC fic. The OC is neighbors with Aegon, Helena, Aemond, and Daeron. She’s always had a bit of a crush on Aegon but he’s always too busy drinking, smoking, having sex ( the OC’s and Aegon’s windows are directly across so the OC can see everything going on in Aegons room and even sees him fucking a girl), etc. to notice. So, the OC gravitates towards Helena and becomes Helena’s best friend. There’s also one rule the OC can never date or have sexual relations with any of Helena’s brothers. Years later (cut to Tom Glynn-Carney’s Aegon), the OC and Helena are still best friends but the OC goes to a frat party and sees Aegon, obviously oblivious to her because he sees her as his little sisters weird friend/neighbor but he accidentally OD’s. The OC manages to save him by rushing to him and getting him to a hospital. Aegon wakes up and is majorly thankful. Aegon and the OC start to become friends and then very quickly secretly date. Things get out of hand and the OC gets pregnant, and she has to tell Aegon. Aegon starts freaking out not wanting the responsibility and basically tells her to literally get rid of it. Helena finds out about the pregnancy and starts freaking out and gets super mad at the OC and leaves her. The OC tells Alicent but Alicent is way more forgiving and is shoot to have her first grandchild, and tells the OC that she is always welcome to stay if she wants. The OC feels abandoned and scared, etc. That’s all I have for this idea, it sort of just poured right out of my head lol. If you think of an ending or anything extra for the story please feel free add it, I sort of lost momentum of inspiration behind the idea towards the end ( ass you can see lol).

Masterlist Here
Your stomach tied itself in knots as your parents’ car stopped behind the moving truck. “Ready to see our new home?” your mum asked but your six-year-old legs were already flinging you out of the car to run up to your new front porch.
“Its huge!” You yelled as you barrelled up to the front door, your dad not far behind with keys in hand so you could run inside to go place dibs on your room.
“I pick the back room!” you called as you ran back down the stairs however your mouth quickly tightened closed when you saw the woman in the doorway. You made your way behind your dad’s leg as he laughed, placing his hand on your head.
“This is our neighbour Alicent sweetheart,”
“Hiya, its nice to meet you,” she smiled before glancing behind her and sighing, “Come inside Aegon. Show our new neighbours what we brought,” You grabbed onto your father tighter however your grip relaxed as the nine-year-old blonde boy walked in with a plate of cookies. “Why don’t you give them to the girl?”
Aegon outstretched the plate to you, and you gladly accepted the wrapped-up treats, “Thank you,” you grinned a toothy smile at the older boy who looked like he was itching to get back to the ball he’d been forced to leave behind to come say hello.
-
Aegon was your first crush however as you grew up you realised how wrong that was. When you were 12 and he 15 you became a little bit obsessed with him however you also experienced your first heart break. Your window was directly opposite from Aegon’s and one night while doing homework you looked up to see him kissing another girl. Sure, you were 12 and he barely knew you apart from you being his little sister’s best friend however you were heart broken still.
It didn’t help that the older you got the dumber he seemed to get. You were privy to all his dirty little secrets because he never remembered to close his blinds when him and his friends all shared three beers or when they passed around their first joint. It got a bit better when he went to college however the summer, he came back you had to race to close your blinds nearly every night when he’d bring a girl over.
By 18 you were completely over your crush and desperate to go to college and get away from Aegon. However, the summer before your first and Aegon’s last year of college you spent a lot of time with Heleana at her house.
Alicent had finally convinced Viserys to add a pool in during the spring and it was nice and ready the day summer break rolled around. In preparation you and Heleana had went swimsuit shopping and had even picked up pool games to play with Daeron who was now 7.
Aemond, who was 19, returned the day before Aegon and greeted you with a warm hug and an offer to fetch you a shirt, “That thing barely covers you,” he rolled his eyes as all four of you tested out the pool.
“Perv much?” you joked as you relaxed into the water as Heleana cannonballed in for the seventh time.
“Stay back Aem,” Heleana said as she swam to your side, flinging her arm over your shoulder, “She’s mine,”
You laughed at her joke, even playing into it as you always did, but Aemond scoff, “Don’t worry about me. Its Aegon your gonna have to worry about,”
“Yeah right,” you scoffed back, “he barely knows I exist,”
Heleana rolled her eyes at both of you, “Yeah right. Besides I already told her that if she gets with either of you, I will murder you both,”
You laughed at her, but Aemond decided to swim up to your side to annoy her more, “But what if she’s my one true love?” he dramatically swooned back but you decided to take it a step further and push him back into the water. Aemond came floundering back to the surface with a scowl as you both cackled, “I take it back. You can keep her,”
-
However, what you didn’t realise was Aegon decided to come home a day early and as you and Aemond were sat at the side of the pool, exhausted and wet, watching Daeron to make sure he didn’t drown Aegon was watching you through the kitchen window.
“Holy fuck,” he murmured when he saw you in your bikini, something he didn’t think you even owned. Then again, he also didn’t know that you had a figure apparently cause right now all he could think was oh damn and to make a mental note to burn all your sweatshirts.
However, Heleana had just decided to go to the kitchen for juice when she saw her brothers’ stares. “Oh, hell no,” she snapped, swatting at her brother’s shoulder.
“Hey! The fuck?”
“You are not fucking my friend- “
“I wasn’t going to- “
“Uhuh, keep it that way,” she scowled as she grabbed the jug of juice Alicent had prepared for you all, “I swear to god Aegon if you even try anything I will kill you. kill you dead.”
-
That summer was a newfound torture for Aegon. Seeing you at his house near every day in a bathing suit was a sick twisted punishment from god. Especially since even when you weren’t there you were lounging in your room in a tank top and shorts with the window cracked open. In a way it was payback it was just a shame you never caught his stares.
-
When college rolled around, he thought he was saved but that was until he saw you around campus. Yep, just both of your luck. While you did your best to look the other way anytime you saw him the longer, he saw you around campus the harder it was for him not to stare. Glow up didn’t even describe the change you had. He was mesmerised. So, in typical Aegon fashion he decided to dive into a bottle blondes’ bed and close his eyes pretending it was you on their knees in front of him.
-
One night you decided to kick back and relax. you had just handed in your last assignment before winter break and thought your first frat party would be a great way to celebrate. You and Sansa, your roommate, got all dolled up and headed to her older brother’s frat, Sansa figured it meant at least this way you knew you were both safe since Robb would be there.
The music was already blaring, the drinks flowing like waterfalls, and the dancing was questionable at best. You and Sansa had met up with a couple friends and were half dancing half talking when you felt a strong arm sling its way over your shoulder, “Look who it is!” Aegon slurred in your ear. “My favourite little neighbour,” he said, his drunken hand moving to squish your cheeks.
You pushed him off of you as you turned round while your friends shared a concerned look. Youd never told them you knew the best tight end of the football team after all. “Hey Aegon. You all good?” you asked, eyes squinting when you saw how bloodshot his were.
“Yeah totally,” he said, his eyes searching the room at a million miles an hour, “Hey I was thinking you should- “he started to say, putting his arm around your shoulder again when Robb came over, “Hey man!” he said, leaving your side to bear hug Robb.
“Hey buddy,” Robb said as he pushed Aegon to arms distance, “You are doing, okay?”
“Never better,” Aegon said, his body now swaying. Robb pulled him in, whispering something in his ear with a stern face before helping him to walk towards the stairs.
Sansa looked to you with a disgusted face, “What a riot,” she said, all the girls agreeing with her, “Can’t believe you need to deal with him,”
“Yeah. He’s a good guy though. Deep down I think,” you said, remembering all the time Heleana told you about their parents screaming matches where Aegon would take them into the basement to have a movie night. Or how his father locked him outside after he failed an exam. Hell, you’d seen the sleeping around and drinking get worse ever since Viserys had died five years ago.
Your friends laughing snapped you out of your thoughts. “Ill be back guys,” you said, heading to the stairs to try find him.
As you searched the corridors you knocked on each door and received a “occupied,” called back at you. that was till you got to this door. you knocked but no one replied. Something didn’t feel right though so you knocked again, “Aegon?” you called but there was no response. Something inside you wouldn’t let you leave so you took a deep breath and tried the door handle.
The door slowly crept open, and you felt your skin flush cold, “Aegon!”
-
You weren’t sure why you got in the back of the ambulance or why you stayed at the hospital while the doctors took him back, but you almost cried in relief when they said you could see him. He looked as white as a ghost, his lips dried and cracked, dark red rings around his eyes, as he laid in the hospital bed.
“Aegon?” you whispered, half wondering if he was dead since he defiantly did not look alive.
“Where am I?” he murmured, his eyes struggling to open, “What happened?”
“Careful,” you said, moving to stop him from sitting up. Aegon’s eyes finally opened, and he stared up at you in shock as you sat on the side of his hospital bed, “You’re in the hospital. You had an overdose,” you told him, figuring it was best to tell him sooner than later.
A million thoughts looked like they were buzzing behind his eyes, but he only asked one thing, “Did they call my mom?”
-
Aegon begged you not to tell his family. apparently, he’d deliberately changed his emergency contact to his father’s number when he fell into a coma so that no one would ever receive a call. This of course made you press on how many times things like this happened and you never seen him look so ashamed.
“Let me help you,” you begged, “We can get you into therapy and- “
“I don’t need it- “
“Damn it Aegon!” you snapped, “You’re lying in a hospital bed with tubes coming out of you and you don’t think there’s a fucking problem?” his head dropped, his eyes welling with tears, and you felt your heart drop. You sighed, your own tears building, “I’m sorry Aegon I just-I just worry about you. I want you to be happy and healthy and just- I want you to get better,” you said, reaching for his hand.
Aegon took yours, squeezing it gently but you knew it took way more strength than you could imagine, “Thank you,” he whispered, his voice hoarse and threatening to break, “for coming to find me. If I was you, I wouldn’t have,”
“It’s a good thing you’re not me then,” you joked, and you saw a tiny smile crack onto his lips, “but the only way I won’t tell your family is if you do something about it. otherwise, you’re gonna leave me no choice,”
-
Aegon took your words to heart and with a little push from you and help from the hospital he had a therapist within a couple of weeks. Turns out when he’s not out drinking and whoring, he’s actually a pretty chill guy. You began to hang out and even when you went back home for winter break, he kept texting you nonstop. While Heleana found it weird her brother was suddenly so close with you, she was also just relieved to see him sober.
Still, you tried to take a step back, but you found yourself weirdly missing him. You ended up going back to college together in his car to save your parents the trip and took turns driving. The whole way you were both scream singing Taylor swift or giving dramatic renditions of Lana del ray songs. Then you realised the sun was setting.
“There’s a motel 3 miles up. Do you want to just stop? I hate driving at night,” you said and Aegon agreed before turning cruel summer back up to full blast.
You both grabbed a couple things out the car before heading into the classic movie run down looking hotel. The receptionist was halfway through her cigarette and the whole room screamed the 60s with faded orange polka dot walls. “Hey, can we get two rooms?” Aegon asked as he fished out his credit card.
She tapped her long red nails at the ‘cash only’ sign before turning to the computer as you know both pulled out whatever cash you had. “Sorry Hun we only half one room,”
You felt your cheeks tinge as Aegon awkwardly cleared his throat, “Is it a twin?”
“Nope it’s a double,” she said as she peered over her glasses at you both, “Is that gonna be a problem?”
Aegon glanced at you but the idea of driving any further as your eyes were barely staying open made you grab his cash and slam it on the counter, “We’ll make it work,”
-
The room was as nice as you could expect. Though you did make Aegon triple check it for murderers as you guarded the door. “All safe. So…” he said, words trailing off as he looked at the bed.
You sighed as you dumped your stuff on the ground, “So,” you said as you plopped on the bed.
“I could sleep in the car- “
“Just get in the bed Aegon,” you sighed as you pulled off your trainers, “I mean we’ve known each other for years,”
He nodded but paused for another moment before asking once more, “Are you sure? Cause I get if you want me to sleep on the floor,”
You laughed a little at his words as you finally kicked off your shoes. “Its fine. Promise. I trust you,” you began to take off your jumper when you realised, he hadn’t said anything, “You okay?”
“Yeah,” he said as if snapping out of a daze, “Just can’t think of a time someone said that” he said it like a joke, but you could see in his eyes it wasn’t.
As tempting as it was to make a joke to try lightening the mood you just gave him the best smile you could before excusing yourself to the bathroom to get ready for bed. Aegon went in after you and as he was sorting himself out you took off your bra and jeans and slipped under the sheets in just your shirt.
Aegon came back a couple minutes later as you scrolled your phone. Silently he took off his shirt and you did your best not to stare or even look but it was near impossible. Him slipping under the covers however snapped you out your daze when you felt his almost bare, bar his boxers, legs brush against yours.
You glanced over at him and saw his cheeks tinged a bright pink as he cleared his throat, “You tired?” he asked, staring at the ceiling.
You smiled a little at him. After all it had been you acting like that for years without him ever noticing. “A bit. You?” he just hummed in response. You sighed before rolling onto your side facing him, “Aegon?”
“Yeah?” he replied as he turned to face you, his nose accidentally brushing yours in the process. You could feel his breath fanning your face as his eyes bore into yours. up close you could really see the lilac in them.
You weren’t sure who leaned in first, but you felt his soft lips press against yours as his hands trailed up your sides. Your hands found his white, blonde hair, admiring how soft it was as your mouths mixed. You knew your best friend would kill you if she ever found out but suddenly that didn’t feel important.
-
Dating your best friend’s brother in secret at a university across state was wrong. You knew it, Aegon knew it, if Heleana knew about it, she’d scream it, but you couldn’t stop yourself. Suddenly every waking moment was spent with Aegon. Everything was going perfectly bar the little white lie you kept from Heleana.
That was until the two pink lines showed up in the bathroom.

Not Him, I Swear // modern!Aegon II x Reader // Part 1
CW: afab reader, alcohol consumption, cheating (ex cheated on reader), attempted kidnapping (I guess???), profanity, eventual smut
Part 1 || Part 2 || Part 3 || Part 4
Aegon and Cregan have always been the best of friends, much to your dismay. You could handle them on their own, but together? Gods, no. It was bad enough when you'd hang out at Helaena’s place with Aegon hovering around. But when you would be there when Aegon and Cregan were there, it was a whole. Even Helaena’s little brother, Aemond, would have to leave the house. They were just so much to deal with and you had little to no patience for it.
Aegon and Cregan together was basically their own frat party on the move. That's how loud and obnoxious they were. And just like any frat guy, they all wanted a high body count. So when Aegon decided to unceremoniously ask you out while you were hanging out with Helaena, it was no surprise. He caught you when you were alone in the living room of the apartment shared between the siblings while your friend was in the bathroom.
“Hey, babe,” he slurred his words and leaned against the wall next to you.
You looked him up and down, ignoring the name he called you.“You smell like beer and piss, Aegon.”
“Nah,” he shook his head. “The piss smell is also the beer.” He chuckled at himself and ran his hand through his hair. “I was meaning to ask you something.” He focused his eyes on you.
You nodded your head for him to continue.
“How about you and I go for a date?” He smiled.
You gave Aegon and sickly sweet smile and wrinkled your nose. “Thanks, but no thanks. You're not really my type and your Hel’s brother. A big no-go, really. Good shot, though.” You patted his arm and walked away towards Helaena who was calling you over.
As you walked away Cregan joined his friend’s side.
“Damn, that sucks, dude. I'd say go find another girl but this one would be a conquest.” Cregan said.
“And why would that be?” Aegon asked, his eyes never leaving your fading silhouette.
“Apparently she doesn't fuck anyone, at least not anymore. I heard that since she broke up with her ex she's declared some kind of celibacy. Like she'll only fuck if she gets in another serious relationship.” He rolled his eyes.
“So she's a sad prude?.”
“Not a prude, a challenge.” Cregan smirked.
“Come on, you have to go with us!” Helaena begged.
She, and your other best friend, Jace, were attempting to convince you to go to the frat party that night.
“We can hide you from Aeg, I promise. He doesn't have to be anywhere near you. We'll stay by your side, or at least I will. I know Jace has his eyes set on someone else,” Helaena sent Jace a teasing look.
Jace blushed at the suggestion. Seeing him all flustered, you took the moment to switch the focus to him.
“Jace! You're looking at someone?” You asked.
Jace rubbed the back of his neck and refused to look up. “It's nothing, it's no one. Just a little crush, you know? Nothing is gonna happen so I'm not gonna try.”
“Well of course nothing is gonna happen if you don't try!” Helaena all but yelled at him.
“Tell me who it is? Please, Jacey?” You pulled out the nickname whenever you wanted something.
Jace rolled his eyes at the name and looked down at the ground.
“His name is Cregan,” he mumbled.
Your eyes widened. “Cregan? Like Aegon’s best friend, Cregan?”
“Yeah, that one.”
“Jace, I'm so excited for you!” Helena jumped up and down in excitement and smothered him in a hug.
He awkwardly patted her back. “Th- thanks, Hel. But nothing is happening. We're not dating and he doesn't know I like him so…”
Helaena pulled away from the hug, moved her hands to his shoulders, and gripped him hard. “What matters is that you like someone and I'm gonna help you,” she grinned. “Well, I'm gonna help both of you. Yes, you too.” Helaena looked at you pointedly.
“You, my dear friend,” she turned to you and gently cradled your face, “are gonna go to this party and I'm gonna find you someone.” She briefly pressed her forehead to yours. “After that last guy you deserve someone so much better.”
You pulled Helaena into a tight hug. “I know I do, Hel. Maybe,” you took a step back, “I'll go after Aegon.”
Immediately the two of them froze. You looked at them in all seriousness before bursting into laughter.
“No, of course I'm not gonna go for Aegon. He would be a nightmare!”
“Just be careful if you do, alright? I'll still stick by your side the entire night.” Helaena reached out to hold your hands. “So you'll come with us?”
You smiled and shook your head. “Yes, Hel. You two broke me. I'll go tonight,” you smiled.
Little did they know, your eye has been on Aegon the last few months.
As the day went by you couldn't keep your ever growing nerves down. It's been forever since you last went to a party like this. Not since…him.
Jason Lannister.
You met him at a frat party, very much like the one you were about to go to. It was there that he swept you off your feet, cornered you in a lust filled haze.
You had had too much to drink that night, pushing your limits hard, but you couldn't stop yourself. Dancing with Helaena and Jace, taking shot after shot, grinding up against strangers who held you tight. It was the most fun you've had in months.
When you got caught up with Jason you swore up and down it was true love. He just knew you. Yes, the first night was filled with passionate kisses and hot touches, but everything felt so natural after that.
Jason was…protective of you to say the least. He always wanted to know where you were, who you were with, and what you were doing. He insisted he join you almost everywhere.
“I just want to make sure you're safe,” he would say.
You would tell him that you're fine, that you were with Helaena and Jace, but at any mention of Jace his face would harden. He viewed Jace as competition for some reason. You told him time and time again that he was just a friend. Jason was content to believe that and keep his jealousy at bay. For a while.
His anger overflowed the night you came in drunk, leaning on a sober Jace while he helped you get to Jason’s apartment. While that particular night was blurry, you remembered the yelling and crashing of Jace getting thrown around by Jason. You could recall Jason threatening to kill him but even that was blurry. You tried to break up with him the next day but Jace convinced you not to, saying it was a one night mistake and that everything would be fine.
That night should've been the breaking point but the one that completely broke you was walking in on Jason fucking Floris Baratheon. You came home after work one evening only to hear moaning coming from your room. You didn't want to believe that Jason could possibly sleep with someone else but the evidence was right there. Floris was being fucked into the mattress while Jason gripped her hips and pistoned into her. He was so lost in bliss that he didn't hear you slam the door as you left.
After Jason you swore off any kind of intimacy before or at the beginning of dating. You didn't want to get hurt. Not again.
Until a certain cocky blond caught your eye.
“Time to party!” Helaena screamed as she entered. “I'll be wearing this super cute baby blue crop top so you have to wear this deep green one!” She pulled out the top, perfectly your size as always.
You hesitantly looked at your friend. “Hel, this shows a lot. I don't know if that's the vibe I want to have.”
“It's a frat party! I promised I won't leave your side, remember? Pinky swear!” She intertwined her pinky with yours.
“Okay, Hel,” you sighed. “Don't leave me.” You gave her pinky a squeeze before giving her a small smile then let go.
The crop top Helaena picked for you had flared long sleeves with an open back that tied in the front and came with a matching mini skirt. You let Helaena do your makeup, as she insisted she did, but you took control of your hair.
“Look at us!” Helaena squealed.
You had to admit that looking in the mirror, you and Helaena looked the perfect combination of cute and sexy.
You smiled at your friend’s outburst and gave her a tight hug.
“Thank you, Hel, for getting me out. Just don't leave my side.”
“I won't.”
Just as the two of you were heading out of Helaena's apartment, Jace ran to you with a big grin.
“HEY, WHO'S READY TO GET WASTED!”
You laughed and pulled him into a hug. “I'm not going to get wasted tonight but you do you.”
“But you're gonna party with us, right?”
“Do you not see this cute ass outfit I'm wearing?” You gestured to yourself. “Yes, I'm gonna party with you guys!”
“This night is gonna be fucking lit,” Jace said as he sandwiched himself between you and Helaena and swung his arms over both of you.
All together now, the three of you walked your way to the frat house.
Even from a distance you could hear the thumping bass and see the bright flashing lights from the house. You and your friends slowly made your way to the kitchen, not without squeezing through the dance floor. The scents of sweat and alcohol flowed from everywhere around you. Every other person bumping into you didn't help that much either. Being here was a lot but your promised your friends you would party with them.
Keeping your arm linked with Helaena, you were able to make a drink. Grabbing some fancy peach schnapps some brought and some orange juice you made a fuzzy navel for you and Hel. Jace didn't stay even for that, he grabbed his beer and went out to the dance floor.
“Well that didn't last long,” you commented.
“Nope, but he's having fun and that’s what matters. Maybe he'll get lucky,” Helaena winked at you.
She chugged her drink and tossed the solo cup into the trash before pulling you to her.
“Come dance with me! Let's get you to loosen up a bit!” She moved your hands back and forth in a lazy dance.
“Okay, okay, Hel. Let me finish my drink at least”
“Fine, but you take forever to finish.”
“If you really want to dance you can go ahead of me. I promise I'll be okay.”
“Are you sure? I said I wouldn't leave you.”
“You're not abandoning me, you're just doing your own thing for a bit while I drink,” you shrugged.
“Well,” Helaena drew out the word. “If you say so. I'll see you out there in a bit!” She popped a kiss on your cheek and was soon lost in the dance floor.
You chuckled and leaned against a wall, taking your time with your drink, when someone slid next to you. They smelled like sweet and alcohol but there was a faint whisper of cologne. Very faint but it was there.
It was Aegon who was beside you but he didn't bring up any conversation. You hoped that he didn't even realize it was you next to him. The two of you stood there in somewhat of a silence; him yelling at an occasional friend of making trying some pick up line with whichever girl caught his eye.
“Glad to see you've moved on,” you told him after minutes of standing next to him.
“Oh, kitten, I could never move on,” he replied without looking at you. “Any other girl is just a distraction.” He finally looked your way and combed your body up and down.
You finished the rest of your drink, giving you that edge you needed that made you this gutsy.
“Maybe you don't have to distract yourself anymore, pretty boy. Maybe I do want you.” You stepped closer to him, smiling as you caught him stiffening up.
“I thought Helaena was gonna be your bodyguard. Where is she?”
“She's having her own fun,” you waved off the comment. “I told her that I wouldn't go near you but here we are. It's probably just the drink, though.” You stepped away from him and gave a small laugh. “You know, after Jason I told myself I wouldn't get involved with anyone else, including you, but - no, it's alcohol.”
“Don't stop there, keep going, kitten.”
Kitten gods it made your toes curl and your core tighten.
“How about you find me later? Helaena’s probably worried about me by now.”
“Okay, later then.” Aegon winked as he watched you disappear into the crowd.
The dance floor was filled with sweaty bodies grinding on each other. Grinding, bumping, accidentally smacking, there was everything. Of all the things at a frat party it was the dance floor that made you squirm. The horniness you could deflect pretty well but the thumping music and the crowd was too much. Eventually you found Helaena but she was preoccupied making out with someone, but you couldn't figure out who from the distance and lack of lighting. You smiled and walked away, figuring you'd leave and send a text to Hel and Jace that you got tired. On your way out you saw Jace with Cregan. Specifically you saw Cregan trapping Jace between him and a wall and some very intense talking going on. You continued on only to be stopped by the sensation of someone following you.
“Alreading heading out?” asked the voice.
“Yeah, not really my vibe,” you replied, taking in as much of your surroundings as possible.
“Why not come here, babe? You look like you could use some company.”
The voice was slurring his words and it started to concern you. It was familiar but you brushed it off, blaming it on the alcohol.
You refused to look behind at the person, wanting to get out of here as quickly as possible. You could make a quick turn back to find Helaena and Jace back on the floor but you knew the possibility of finding them where they were was slim.
“No, I’m fine.” You were steady in your walk out the house.
“No, stay with me.” His hand turned you around and you found yourself face to face with him. Jason.
Your eyes widened in surprise but you were quick to take him all in. He had changed since the last time you saw him. After the break up you deleted and blocked him on every social media so you really had no idea how he looked until now.
You were able to calm your breathing. “Let go of me.”
“I messed up, babe. I know I fucked up.”
“Too late, Jason. Two years too late. Go find Floris, I don’t care.” You bit out the last words. As much as they were true they did hurt ever so slightly. You trusted Jason, you loved him at one point and he took all of that and threw it in your face.
“I don’t want her,” he took your hand. “I want you.”
You tried to pull your hand away but he only tightened his grip. “I don’t want you. Now let me go, Jason.”
His eyes locked on yours at the sound of his name and you swore you saw guilt but it was soon replaced by anger.
“I’m not letting you go. You are mine.” He yanked on your hand, pulling yourself to him.
“Jason, I swear to the gods i will fucking scream!”
“Go ahead, no one will hear you.”
You took a deep breath, ready to scream at the top of your lungs when -
“Oi! Let go of my girl!”
You released your breath, never been so happy to hear Aegon.
Jason looked at you, his eyes red from both his anger and the alcohol.
“Where the fuck do you think you’re going with my girl, Jason?” Aegon called out.
Jason laughed. “Your girl? She’d never be with you.”
“And that’s where you’re wrong.”
Aegon made it over to your side in a few strides and took your hand. Surprisingly, Jason let go.
Aegon pulled you in close. “You okay, kitten?”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m okay.” You rubbed the wrist that Jason was holding.
Aegon looked at you with concern before turning to Jason. “Stay the fuck away from her. She’s not yours, she’s mine. You had your chance with her and you fucked it up.” He let go of you to step closer to Jason. “Now get the fuck out of my party.”
Jason looked at you, torn between staying to fight and leaving out of exhaustion.
You moved back to Aegon and took his hand. “Thank you, baby.” You kissed his cheek, hoping it would be the last straw for Jason.
“Fuck this shit,” Jason murmured. He quickly averted his eyes and left the party.
Aegon turned to you. “You okay?”
“Yeah - yeah, I’m fine. Thank you, Aegon.”
He patted your arm awkwardly. “Cool. I’ll, um, see you around.”
Aegon nodded his head and began to walk away but you grabbed his hand before he could get too far. “Can you walk me back to the apartment?” You refused to look at him and stared at the ground instead. “I’m a little tipsy and I don’t feel like walking alone after what just happened.”
Aegon grinned. “A little tipsy you say? Who would’ve thought.”
You simply looked at him with a bored expression.
“Yeah, I’ll walk you over, kitten. I’ve had a lot to drink but I can hold my alcohol, unlike Jason.”
“Thanks.” You gave him a shy smile.
You and Aegon made your way out of the frat house, walking in a comfortable silence.
“Why did you stop him?” you blurted.
Aegon gave you a confused look. “What do you mean?”
“I mean, why did you stop Jason? You could’ve let him take me wherever and not bothered yourself with it at all.”
“I stopped him because you’re my sister’s friend. You may not like me all that much but I’ll protect anyone who my sister cares about.”
“Oh.” Was all you could say.
The rest of the walk to the apartment was blanketed in a nice quiet. When you arrived at the front door you turned to Aegon.
“Thank you, Aegon, for tonight. I’ll see you around?” You hoped you didn’t sound desperate.
“No problem, and yeah. I’ll see you.”
You began to close the door when his hand stopped it.
“Date?” He looked a little worried, almost surprised that he even said it.
You smiled and opened up the door again. “Since you’re not smashed right now, yeah, sure.”
“Cool, cool, cool.” He ran his hands through his hair.
You laughed at his nervousness and held your hand out for his phone. “I’ll give you my number and you can text me later, yeah?”
Aegon grabbed a hold of himself and handed you his phone. You quickly entered it and gave it back to him.
He gave you a wink, back at full swagger. “See you later, kitten.”
You closed the door, hoping he didn’t see you blush.

Wicked Game Pt 2 - Armando Aretas
Armando Aretas x Black! OC (Helena)
Part 1
After each fight, he’d sit down at the bar, cuts and scratches littered on his face and arms, discoloring his perfectly tan skin.
They’d exchanged naught but a few words since he popped up three months ago, most of them pertaining to whatever drink he ordered, his low raspy voice sending shivers down her spine all the same.
That all changes one evening.
It’s a few hours before Spades opens for the night. Despite the fact that she’s off for the day, Helena makes her way through a back entrance. She waves to the bartender in her place once she’s inside, along with a few of the dancers she’s come to know, all getting ready for the long night ahead.
Javier’s “office” (she’s yet to see any work being done) is crowded like usual. His posse is gathered around the pool table, playing, drinking, talking.
Helena notices him first. His reserved demeanor is a stark contrast to the crew he’s with.
Helena watches Armando, settled on the arm of a chair right beside Javier. His eyes find hers quickly, as they tend to do, like he can sense her or something. He smiles, raising the bottle of beer to his full lips.
The sound of her own name breaks Helena out of her trance. Javier’s in front of her all of a sudden, blocking Armando from her view. He’s staring at her expectantly, a question in his furrowed brows, giving Helena the impression she’s completely ignored something he’s said.
“I got what you asked for,” she supplies, taking her best guess.
In lieu of a response he steps her out with her into the hall. The overlapping chatter and underlying music dim, and they're out of earshot of anyone still in the room.
Javier looks around the empty hallway, then stretches out his hand.
“What did you find?”
Helena places the slim thumb drive in his open palm.
“Everything you asked for.”
Javier closes his fist around the drive, rubbing his thumb across its surface thoughtfully as he nods, his sharp jaw flexing.
Helena’s come to know Javier as a relatively quiet man. Most of their conversations are just like this one, consisting of few words and many gestures.
“Thank you.” His voice is grim when he replies finally.
Helena’s good with computers. In a way that allows her to blur the lines between public and private information.
In places like Spades, to people like Javier, information is invaluable.
When Helena, a 23 year old grad student, moved to this city, she’d needed money badly. She was more than grateful for the job, but bartending simply didn't cut it, when you factored in school, and the medical expenses her type one diabetes racked up.
Watching the kind of people that flowed in and out of Spades, from low level drug runners to the most powerful politicians in the state, she’d quickly learned the signs of status, the value of taking in information from all around her, and how and when to use it.
Javier, with his similar skill of discernment, had quickly taken notice of her, and they soon fell into a simple sort of arrangement.
Cash, for information. Names, addresses, bank statements, even blueprints like the ones on the flash drive she’d just handed over. The most important part of this arrangement is that, however tempted she may be, she never asked questions, never asked what he needed the information for, who it was going to.
It kept her from falling in too deep, allowed her to keep what she did at this club in a small compartment of her life, kept her from having to ask herself the tough question of what exactly she’d be willing to do for money.
“He workin’ for you now?”
It’s likely the reason, when she asks this, Javier stops in his tracks and shoots her a quizzical look.
Helena has been around long enough to have somewhat of an understanding of how Javier operates. He keeps his inner circle tight, and from the looks of things, Armando has managed his way in, in just a few short weeks. She tries to convince herself this is the extent of her curiosity, but Helena doesn’t need to turn her head to know Armando is staring, she never does, and she’s felt his eyes on her for weeks. She wants to know why exactly he’s so interested in her.
She nods subtly in his direction for Javier’s benefit.
He glances inside, following her lead.
“Something like that.” He replies, as cryptic and dismissive as ever.
Helena takes him turning away as a sign the conversation is over and despite the fact that her question remains unanswered, she turns to do the same. She should have known better than to expect a straightforward answer from Javier.
She’s all the way by her car, after stopping to grab some things from her locker when she stops in her tracks.
There’s no reason, scientifically at least, that you should be able to feel someone looking at you.
And yet, inexplicably, when she turns around he’s there.
Leaning against the back wall of the bar, arms crossed over his chest.
There’s a beat. Just a moment of the two of them watching each other. Then he stands, nods to the right, and steps out of the light, gradually disappearing in shadow of the rapidly disappearing sun.
She waits until the curiosity overcomes her, before she follows him into the quickly expanding dark.

having a one night stand with shane
pairing: Shane McCutcheon x F!Reader
tags/warnings: sexual content, clubbing, fingering, cunnilingus (mdni, 18+)
a/n: don't mind me being 19 years late to this party! i recently finished the l word and goddamn, shane mccutcheon would be a fantastic lay :) hope you enjoy my stream of consciousness headcanon. gif credit
It's Alice that brings the two of you together
She's so tired of you whining over your recent breakup
She can barely get a word in anymore when the two of you hang out
You complain over coffee at the Planet
You bitch when you come over to her apartment
Your constant nagging does not stop for days on end
Finally, she breaks, calling Shane and begging her to come out to the Hit Club to meet you
Alice makes a point to stress that she has a good-looking, recently single friend who simply needs something other than this failed relationship to harp over
Shane, the loyal friend she is, obliges
It's Saturday night and Alice practically drags you out of your one-bedroom to go out with her and Tasha
You can't say no; any reason to support Kit and Helena is enough for you
Even with all your moping, you dress to the nines and go with the duo to the club
The music is good, the drinks are flowing, and finally, a genuine smile is permanently plastered across your face
Shane seems to materialize next to you as soon as you polish down your first drink
Alice is glowing—neither you nor Tasha misses it—as she pulls Shane into a hug before hurrying her over toward you
She rapid fires through introductions, extremely interested in getting you both settled before completely taking off with Tasha
You can't even take the time to appreciate Shane's fitted blazer, dark skinny jeans, long fingers—
Okay, maybe you did have enough time to appreciate her attributes before Alice abandoned you
The thought leaves your head entirely as the gravity of this situation begins to settle
Both you and Shane are left in the middle of the dance floor, stunned as other patrons bounce and bump into you
Shane's the first to recover, offering to buy you a beer which you gladly accept to break the tension
The rest of the night goes without any hiccups
You notice that Shane isn't much of a dancer unless convinced otherwise, and you find yourself taking advantage of that
You sway together and with feigned innocence, you find yourself grinding against her more obviously
Shane seems to get the message and presses you against her chest, allowing your hips to rock against her groin
Her mouth is on your neck and her hands splay across your stomach as the two of you dance
Her touch drives you crazy
From what feels like an amalgamation of all the sexual tension from tonight, the two of you reach the same conclusion at the same time:
"Wanna get out of here?"
Hell yes you do
You find Alice and Tasha on the other side of the club and say your goodbyes
You pretend not to see the couple's sneers as you and Shane leave
Eagerly, you pile into Shane's Jeep so she can take you back home
The two of you are a whirlwind of wet kisses and inquisitive fingers, taking turns stripping and fondling each other
You barely make it to your bedroom, but through sheer willpower alone, the two of you make it to the bedroom
Shane’s fingers are already working on the waistband of your underwear
They’re replaced with two of her fingers sheathed inside of you while the heel of her hand drags circles into your clit
The initial shock of realizing how wet you were for her to jam two fingers into you so easily is replaced with an intense, unwavering pleasure
It continues to build as Shane fucks you and it doesn’t take long for you to forget about your breakup
Perhaps it’s because of how responsive you are, but suddenly she bows her head down, lips ghosting your ear and husks:
“You like that, huh?” while pounding into you
The coil in your stomach snaps and you’re cumming on her hand, babbling that yes, you absolutely love it
Shane lets you ride her fingers as the aftershocks of your orgasm hit
But as soon as you collect yourself, she’s sinking lower, dragging her fingertips down your torso
Her mouth latches onto your pussy: sucking, licking, and kissing every inch of velvety skin she could access
The next wave of orgasms hit sooner than expected, but all you can focus on is canting your hips towards Shane’s mouth
Once you're coherent, you want nothing more than to return the favor
Shane's laughing as she lets you shove her into the mattress, welcoming your curious hands on top of her breasts and your mouth all over her cunt
You feel her thighs clench against your face, holding you steady as you work through her folds
Her fingers are threaded in your hair, yanking you forward as you continue to swirl tight circles on her clit
She lasts a little longer than you and is a little quieter, but she falls apart to her orgasm the same way you did earlier
You kiss once more before hitting the mattress, staring up at the ceiling as you wipe your chin clean
It doesn't take long for Shane to recoup and she wastes no time pulling her clothes on
You follow suit, straightening yourself up before gathering up your outfit pooled on the floor
Before she leaves, she throws you a smirk before saying:
"That was fun; I wouldn't mind doing it again some time"
You agree; you couldn't remember the last time someone made you feel this good
You make sure to let Alice know just how incredible she is the next day for introducing you to Shane
Alice, however, realizes the grave mistake she's made in orchestrating last night
Now, you have someone new to prattle on about: Shane McCutcheon

19: Collateral
The morning after Butcher, Ben, and Hughie returned to the house came yet another bomb of information Helena wasn’t prepared for.
Homelander had been created in a lab…using Ben’s DNA.
Holy fucking shit, Helena thought, as she sat down heavily on her couch. That seemed to be the anthem of her year.
Ben explained how Vogelbaum had framed it to him back in 1980—as a simple genetics experiment (the details for which, Ben may or may not have tuned out at the time). After the weight of that fell between them all, he left the room with a large bottle of bourbon Helena had hidden under the sink.
“We’re all packed up for the road,” Butcher said. He looked over at Helena and Hughie, who sat together on her couch. Frowning, she noticed how Hughie discreetly blotted at some dark-colored substance coming from his ear. Whatever it was, it certainly wasn’t earwax.
What the fuck? she wondered.
“Where’s Soldier Boy?” Butcher asked, breaking her from her thoughts.
“You mean, ever since he told us he was supposed to kill his own son?” Hughie retorted. “He locked himself in the bathroom, with a bottle of Old Granddad.”
“My alcohol, you mean,” Helena quipped.
“Homelander ain’t really his son, and he knows it,” Butcher pointed out. He seemed tired, to Helena’s eyes. She could hear it in his voice. She also thought he wasn’t giving this news the full weight it deserved. It had clearly shaken Ben, no matter how much Butcher didn’t want to hear of any kind of hang-ups to their mission.
Before she could say anything about it, Ben finally came out from down the hall. He glanced at them all before he ventured into the kitchen, grabbing a soda from the fridge.
At least it’s not my beer, Helena thought.
“All right, let’s be off then, ey?” Butcher said, hauling on his black trench coat. “We’ll swing by the office and grab some more V. Then Hughie’ll bring us to where the cunts are. And we’ll pop off Noir, then Homelander.”
Helena shot him an incredulous look.
“More V,” she said, gesturing at Hughie. “Really. Because the black sludge coming out of his ear isn’t enough of a warning sign?”
Hughie grimaced, but Butcher gave her a tight, resigned look.
“You know the score, love. We’ve got two more on the list. That means heading to the Tower,” he said. “I’d appreciate it if you stayed here.”
She crossed her arms and gave him a narrowed look. After last night, she thought he would’ve understood her by now. She didn’t want him to go through with all of this, for his own sake, but if he wouldn’t listen to her, then she would at least try to make sure he and Hughie lived through this.
Because if she let him and Hughie go without her now, knowing she could’ve done something to help…then she’d never forgive herself.
“Well, there’s no sneaky way you’re going to get V24. The R&D lab is below ground at Vought Tower, Level 0. Even when I worked there I didn’t have clearance,” Helena said. Though as an idea grew in her mind, she bit her lip, and finally sighed.
“But there’s a way we can go about this without just bulldozing through the front door…I can get you in there from the control room.”
“Not necessary,” Butcher said. His brows drew together as he looked down at her, drawing closer. She met his gaze with a stubbornness he should’ve expected.
“It is if you want to maintain any kind of element of surprise against Black Noir, let alone Homelander,” she said. Butcher’s lips pressed together, but she made it clear, even in her silence, that he wasn’t leaving without her this time.
Butcher crossed his arms and met her stance, just as bullheaded as ever.
“You’re not coming,” he said.
An hour later, Helena was breezing through radio stations, sitting shotgun in Butcher’s car, while Hughie was forced to sit in the back with Ben. They were cruising at full speed down the highway towards New York City.
“Fucking land on something already,” Ben sniped from the backseat. If he heard one more station change from girly pop to heavy metal, he was going to lose his shit.
Helena rolled her eyes and settled on something they could all agree on: John Lennon, “Give Peace a Chance.” She had to stifle a sardonic smile at the irony.
After a while, Ben started to snooze in the back, while Hughie stared out the window. Helena turned to Butcher and asked something she’d been wondering for days now.
“How’d you even get ahold of V24 to begin with?” she asked.
Butcher expelled a sigh, but he was honest, after swiping a hand over his mouth and beard. “Through Maeve. She gave me the tip on Payback, on a weapon that supposedly killed Soldier Boy, the whole thing. She wants that golden cunt dead as much as we do.”
Helena nodded slowly. “I guess that makes sense.”
She’d been seeing a lot about Maeve on the news; that supposedly she was in rehab, according to Vought. But Starlight fans were teaming up with Maeve fans on social media, demanding proof that she was actually where Vought said she was.
If what Butcher said was true, then maybe Vought had found out about what Maeve was up to. Maybe they’d decided to take her off the playing field.
Helena shook her head in contemplation. This was it. Homelander, Vought—the entire thing needed to crumble. As much as she hated the plan, she could admit that with Ben on board, there was a shot that it wouldn’t all end in even more blood and misery.
Helena woke after a doze to Butcher climbing back into the driver’s seat. They were stopped at a gas station, for which she assumed he’d filled up the tank. Something wasn’t right though, she thought, as the car started moving.
Ben groaned as he woke up from his long nap, and he noticed the same thing she had.
“Oh, there he is,” Butcher said.
“Where’s the cum guzzler?” Ben asked. Helena rolled her eyes; she could only assume he meant Hughie. It was a valid question though. She turned to Butcher with a frown.
“You were spot on about him. There I was, filling up the motor. I turn around, the little git had done a runner,” Butcher said.
Helena’s face turned incredulous, but the knowing shift in Butcher’s gaze implored her to play along. She hesitated, but then she tried to school her features into something more neutral.
“We needed him to get to Noir,” Ben said in annoyance.
“Ah, don’t you worry about that, guv. I got it all worked out,” said Butcher.
Now Helena knew there was something off here. She’d learned to tell when he was lying, but this time his gaze remained on the road. He glanced into the review mirror to watch Ben contemplating.
After a moment, the supe seemed to accept his words.
“Wake me when we get to New York,” he said, and laid across the entire backseat of the car.
Helena shot Butcher a sharper look. It said she’d want answers later; she knew there was no way Hughie would cut and run, not when they were so close.
Butcher nodded in acceptance. He knew he could fool Soldier Boy, but not Helena. He just had to figure out what he was going to do with Helena when they got to his apartment in the city, because he had no intention of bringing her to Vought Tower.
He glanced at her, but she was suspicious now. She crossed her arms and shook her head at him before she faced the road ahead.
It was a long car ride.
A few hours later, they arrived at the apartment Supe Affairs had been funding for Butcher’s team. There, they took some time to regroup. While Ben raided the fridge, Butcher pulled out a locked box from a large safe in the back room. Helena peered into it incredulously.
“Why do you guys have a giant-ass safe?” she asked. “You could fit a whole body in there. More than one, actually.”
She stepped back when Butcher closed it back up. He tossed her a knowing look.
“Having a lead-lined box comes in handy,” he said. He set down the smaller one he carried on the dining table and unlocked it. Inside were a few more green vials of V24. Helena’s brows raised.
“Huh. You really didn’t need my help,” she remarked. Butcher remained quiet, earning her gaze. “Why’d you let me come here with you then?”
“‘Cause I knew you’d raise hell for me, whatever I did,” he said. It was half-exasperated, but she detected the slightly softer edge behind his eyes. He knew why she was here, why she was insistent on helping him. She wanted him to come out of this in one piece, but not just for herself.
With that heavy thought, she watched him walk away from her to check on Ben in the kitchen. She was left with an open box with a handful of vials left.
The thought of V24 disgusted her…but she knew, if she was going back to Vought Tower, if she was taking any chance of coming face-to-face with Homelander again, she needed to protect herself.
She grabbed a vial and hid it in her jacket pocket.
While Helena took her time refreshing herself in the bathroom, she soon caught the muffled sounds of Butcher and Ben talking.
She carefully opened the door a crack, and she listened. She heard Ben talk about The Soldier Boy Story losing out Best Picture to American in Paris. It had been Vought’s best PR story for Soldier Boy’s background—a poor kid from the streets of South Philly, who discovered he had incredible powers to match his heart of gold.
To no one’s surprise, that story was utter bullshit.
Ben had grown up the son of one of the wealthiest steel moguls in Philadelphia, his father. Ben later got kicked out of boarding school…
“Because I was a fuck up,” Helena was surprised to hear him say. She ventured out of the bathroom and lingered in the hall, so she could spy the back of him while he continued with Butcher. Both of them were drinking. Whiskey, if she had to guess.
“But he made sure I knew it,” Ben said, speaking of his father.
“Use the belt, did he?” Butcher asked.
“Never laid a hand on me. He couldn’t be bothered,” Ben replied. “Said I was a disappointment. Not good enough to carry his name.”
Once again, Helena fought the sap within her that wanted to sympathize. She continued to fight against it, even when he admitted that his father hadn’t even been satisfied when Ben underwent Vought’s experiments and became Soldier Boy.
“He said I took a shortcut,” said Ben. “That a real man wouldn’t have cheated.”
Helena took in a subtle breath. She heard the heaviness in his voice. The resentment, and yet, a thread of resignation. She understood then where it all came from—the bravado. The machismo. The asshole behavior. It all stemmed from that wound inside him that craved validation from his father.
Helena could relate. Her own father was, and had always been impossible to please. She knew what it was like to be a disappointment.
In the living room, Ben swirled the liquor in his drink as he shoved down memories of a life he’d thought he left behind a long time ago.
“What about you, got any kids?” Ben asked.
“It’s complicated,” Butcher admitted.
But even when Ben admitted that he’d wanted kids, that he thought he could do it better than his father, Butcher saw through those threads. He reminded that Homelander wasn’t Ben’s son. Not really. He was raised in a lab to take Ben’s place. And more than that…
“Look mate,” Butcher said. “We had a deal.”
Ben drained the rest of his glass and stood. Suddenly this room felt stiff and oppressive.
“I’m gonna get some air,” he said.
Helena watched him head for the apartment’s balcony. She stepped into the living room and shared a look with Butcher.
“On one hand, you probably abandoned Hughie at some random gas station,” she said. “On the other hand, you’re doing your hardest to keep Ben on your side.”
Butcher shook his head instead of answering her, but she stepped into his path and laid a hand on his chest.
“I think you left Hughie because you wanted to save him from all this, like you probably want to leave me here,” she said. “You’re not the same man who started this whole kamikaze mission. The difference now is, you actually have a line you won’t cross.”
Butcher looked down on her, not knowing what she wanted him to say. Just now though, she didn’t need him to say anything.
She grasped the front of his shirt and pulled herself up to him, meeting his lips with hers. It was slow, but with the underlying passion that had always existed between them, right from the start. His hands migrated down the curve of her waist and held her close, his fingers pressing into her lower back.
When she broke from him and met his heavy eyes, hers were filled with quiet determination. Butcher couldn’t understand it. Part of him even hated it, knowing he was still dragging her down with him here.
“Why are you being so fucking stubborn?” Butcher asked.
Her head tilted as she gave a wry smile. “What do you mean?”
His grip on her waist tightened a little.
“Why’re you staying with me?” he pressed. “Hel, you know where this ends.”
“Billy, I don’t have a death wish,” she told him. She squeezed his arms back. “But I don’t just want you alive for me. Ryan needs you too.”
Butcher shook his head, but she stopped him from withdrawing.
“He don’t need me,” he said. “Fact is, both of you are better off without.”
“Yes, he does. He loves you, Billy. He’ll forgive you if you give it a chance. And like it or not, he’s your responsibility. Because you made a promise,” Helena said firmly, pressing a finger into his chest. Tears welled up in her eyes as she met his furrowed stare. “Be a fucking man. Take care of the people you care about. The people who love you.”
Her voice shook, but her conviction was fierce and steady. Butcher could only look down on her in silence, even though her words rattled him down to his boots.
They were interrupted by a knock at the door. Both of their heads turned, though their eyes briefly met before Butcher gestured for her to step back while he ventured towards the door. He looked in the peephole first.
His eyes widened. Bloody hell?
He opened the door to find Queen Maeve, looking a bit ragged in an “I <3 New York” t-shirt and some pajama pants that were too big for her.
“Fuck me,” Butcher said in shock. “I thought you was dead.”
M.M. then quickly stepped into view, making Helena gasp when he pointed his gun directly under Butcher’s chin.
“You didn’t think I knew where the blind spots were, motherfucker?” he said.
“M.M.!” Helena exclaimed, half in greeting, half in warning. Her face practically begged him not to pull that trigger. The other man’s lips pursed.
“Hey, Hel,” he said, more casually than he looked. Behind him and Maeve were Hughie and Annie, Kimiko and Frenchie. The whole gang was here.
“Back up,” M.M. ordered at Butcher. He obliged him by stepping back into the room, closer to Helena, but still in front of her.
“Where’s Soldier Boy?” Annie asked. Her tone boded no further bullshit.
“You on that Temp. V shit, Butcher? Huh?” M.M. demanded. “What happens if I pull this trigger?”
“M.M., stop!” Helena tried. She stepped forward, but Butcher stopped her with a hand held against her. Hughie likewise grabbed M.M.’s shoulder and imploringly diffused him, at least for the moment.
“If Soldier Boy goes through with this, thousands will die,” Hughie said. “Help us stop him.”
“This ain’t a bloody kinder care we’re on about, son. It’s Vought-fucking-Tower,” Butcher pointed out.
“Becca worked in the Tower,” said Frenchie. Helena shot him a look for that one, as did Butcher. Helena had worked for Vought as well.
“You shut your fucking cake hole, Frenchie,” Butcher shot back.
“No,” Frenchie said. He seemed to gain some confidence in standing his ground. He dropped his backpack to the floor and planted his feet as he glared back at Butcher. “No! My cakehole will remain open! You will never command me again. I am done with your cruelty—”
Helena’s brows raised. Once again, Hughie played the part of peacekeeper as he talked Frenchie down from his (seemingly well-earned) tirade.
“We, we heard you, okay?” Hughie said. He turned to Butcher and leveled him with an honest truth. “You could’ve let me die from the V, but you saved me… In the shittiest way possible, but still. I don’t think you want to do this. I think you want me to pull you back. Like Lenny used to.”
Helena’s eyes widened. He knows about Lenny?
She looked to Butcher for his reaction…and she missed the way Maeve moved. She grabbed something out of Kimiko’s hand and tossed it out the window, despite Annie’s protests. Then she ripped M.M.’s gun apart.
“Butcher’s right. Homelander needs to die!” Maeve said. “That’s it. Whatever it takes.”
Annie shook her head in disbelief. “I really thought that deep down you were a hero.”
“Well, you were wrong,” Maeve replied. “There’s no such thing.”
“This isn’t going to happen,” Annie refuted. Her eyes glowed, displaying her power as the lights flickered.
Helena’s mouth fell open, even as Butcher subtly stepped in front of her. Was this apartment about to become a battlefield?
“Annie, I don’t want to hurt you,” Maeve said, with caution in her eyes.
“But I will,” said Ben. He finally drew back into the living room. Helena didn’t know how long it had been since he’d stepped back inside, but she could assume he’d been waiting for the right moment. That was apparently right fucking now.
He drew all eyes in the room, including M.M.’s darkened gaze.
“All right, you lot. Into the safe,” said Butcher. Helena shot him an incredulous look.
“Billy,” she tried. He wasn’t able to be so stoic looking down at her, but he was resolute in his decision.
“You too, love,” he said. His hand guided her by the small of her back. When she tried to push back, he grasped her arm with a strong, but not painful hold and shepherded her along with the rest of them into the safe. Except for Ben and Maeve, of course.
Helena met Ben’s gaze, but his unyielding mask was firmly in place. She reached out to Butcher before he closed the door. She knew what he was doing; this was his version of saving her—of keeping her out of this. But she glared at him.
“Billy, don’t do this,” she all but pleaded.
He stared back at her in silent apology. “Goodbye, Helena.”
Then he shut the door, casting them all in darkness.
She was grateful no one could see the way she wiped a tear or two from her cheeks. Butcher had shut off the power, so Annie couldn’t use her abilities to draw from the electricity. What she could do was bulldoze her way through the safe, ramming it over and over with her shoulder until the door burst open, allowing them to escape.
Annie shook off the exertion and took in deep breaths.
“Okay, they got a really big head start, but I know a way in,” she said.
“So do I,” said Helena. The women looked to one another with a tenuous truce.
“Then what?” said M.M., after he turned the power back on. “The way I see it, we’re fucked with no grease. No plan and no knockout gas.”
“Knockout gas? Is that what Maeve threw out the window?” Helena asked.
“Yeah, it’s Novichok,” Hughie explained. “A nerve agent. Literally the only thing the Russians found that can take down Soldier Boy.”
Her eyes widened. “What, it can kill him?”
“No, just put him to sleep, indefinitely,” he replied. She considered that with a frown. She couldn’t believe she was even thinking this, considering all the bullshit he’d pulled on her, but she didn’t know if putting Ben to sleep was something she wanted to see happen to him…
“Well, maybe we can reason with him, assuming he takes down Homelander,” she suggested. “Ben’s a raging asshole, but he’s not totally…”
Her words died on her tongue when she realized how M.M. was looking at her, as if he didn’t know her.
“Ben? Motherfuckin’ Ben?” he said incredulously. “So what were you doing all this time, playing fucking house with America’s oldest killer?”
“M.M., that’s not how it went down,” Hughie tried to jump in on Helena’s behalf, but she crossed her arms and stood firm.
“I was trying to help Butcher and Hughie stay alive,” she said, gesturing pointedly at the younger man. Hughie gave a sheepish look.
“Look, I’m not saying he’s a good man,” she continued, meeting M.M.’s angry gait. “But there’s humanity in Ben. I’ve seen it.”
The man had an ego a mile high and twice and wide, with anger issues and that only barely masked how repressed he was, emotionally. He’d threatened her, and even bruised her…but he hadn’t killed her.
He hadn’t wanted to. He’d walked away before he could actually break her.
It wasn’t a strong vote of confidence for his character, but it was better than Homelander, nonetheless.
“You really think you can change that rat bastard,” M.M. said, breaking her out of her thoughts as he shook his head. “Just like you think you change Butcher!”
“I’m not trying to change anyone!” she raised her voice to meet his. “But I do believe that people can choose to change. To be better.”
Because if there was no hope for that, then there was no hope for herself either.
“Call me an idiot,” she said, and she threw her hands up. “Call me a bitch and a lunatic, I don’t care! I don’t expect you to understand, but I’m going to do what I think is right.”
“Yeah, what’s right for you,” M.M. shot back.
“Maybe,” she snapped. “Maybe it is selfish, and I’m sorry. After Homelander’s dead, I’ll help you with Soldier Boy, whatever I can do. But do you really think Ben is the biggest threat right now? To everyone and anyone?”
M.M. seethed in silence, but he didn’t seem to have an answer for her. Annie, Hughie, Kimiko, and Frenchie—they all stood by Helena and M.M., in both silent contemplation and wariness.
“Okay, then what’s less selfish?” Helena asked, with gesturing hands at him. “Taking out Soldier Boy for your revenge, or ending the biggest fucking psychopath in the world? Otherwise known as Homelander. Who, if you forgot, was responsible for my best friend’s death.”
That fell between them all, heavier than a stone in a shallow pool. Part of Helena felt guilty for spinning M.M.’s cause as selfish, but she’d made her point. M.M., Butcher, Ben, and even she had a score to settle. It was just a matter of who was willing to sacrifice the most for it.
She wasn’t willing to sacrifice her life for revenge, but she would for the ones she loved.
M.M.’s anger soon lessened, by degrees.
“Okay,” said Hughie. He cut through some of the tension, as he himself let out a breath. “How do we get more Novichok?”
“…We don’t,” M.M. said. “That was the only one.”
After a moment of deliberation, Frenchie chimed in. There was a lab in New York that might just have what he needed. It just happened to be Vought’s R&D lab on Level 0.
It was a crazy plan.
“We’re going to break into Vought Tower, while you go to the lab, crawling with armed guards, and you’re gonna cook up the world’s most dangerous neurotoxin?” M.M. said. Sarcasm and disbelief dripped with every word. “With what, a little moxie and a little Mr. Wizard know-how? While we hold off Homelander and Soldier Boy?”
“Uh…oui?” said Frenchie.
Helena looked over at him with a sharp frown. “Are you fucking high?”
He gave her a smile. “Also oui.”
She sighed and covered her eyes with her hand.
“We’re so screwed,” she muttered. “But we’re also wasting time.”
“It’s good enough for me,” Hughie said, with a smile. Annie met her boyfriend with a smile of her own.
“Me too,” she said.
Kimiko agreed to this ingenious plan more readily than M.M., and even Helena. Even so, they had no other options. They were heading to Vought Tower.
AN: Phew! On to the finale! (And then the Epilogue after that.) I finally finished writing the last chapters of this series, so the next chapter will be out soon: on 2/20.
Next Time:
By the time Helena turned back to the scene before them, Ryan’s eyes were glowing red.
He shot a laser beam right at Soldier Boy, knocking him through the far wall and onto his ass. When he got up, shaking rubble from his shoulders, he clearly wasn’t happy about it.
Fortunately, Helena reached Ryan just as Ben took a few intimidating steps forward.
“Ben, stop!” she shouted. And it actually halted the supe’s steps.

GERARD WAY DIED IN MY DREAM ☹️💔
I was dozing off cuz I’m eepy and in the 2 second span of my slumber a hole story formed into my thick skull 🥲🥲🥲🥲
I woke up in my dream and I checked my social medias and shit and everyone was panicking so I checked to see what was wrong and it said GERARD WAS DEAD 😭 He died from like a drug overdose or something their like dead thing memorial pictures or whatever looked like a one piece wanted poster idk it was weird.
So then I was randomly invited to the funeral of Mr Way and it was an open casket so I walked up to them it was in the Helena church and Gerard had black little ballet shoes on and his blue dress they wore that one time (forgot when 🤔)
But yeah I was still in shock and the rest of the band was there right and Ray was holding onto the group like the little mama bear he his and was silently crying he was also eating a subway sandwich. Mikey then turned to me and he was wearing the sluttiest shit ever like blud was smokin in that drip. But anyways he flipped his hair at me and said.
“Follow the new Mr Way”
Now I’m following him also Frank has looked like a lost dog this whole entire time just so ya know he was there if you were worried 😜 but yeah Mikey takes me into this weird white room dungeon thing it opened from the ground like in front of the casket in the music video.
So Mikey is now gone Me, Ray, and Frank are now alone in the spooky Edgar Allan Poe short story the pit and the pendulum type shit. So the big hole in front of us arises the dude from The black parade music video. His eyes are rolled back and his mouth is snapped open like that one girl from stranger things.
The dude starts to speak he starts screaming like Tweek from South Park. Then mini Mikey climbs out of the dudes gaped jaw with his onion hair and a long curly stash.
My vision zooms up to his lips and he says, “Gerard’s death has given me inspiration for an incredible album” “We should call it GG” “It-
He gets cut off tho cuz disco music and lights flood the room then he starts to do the dancing blabazar brat does in despicable me 3.
Everything cuts off though like a film camera and it’s Ray gripping onto the camera he’s sweating and frantic franks also there doing a ballerina spin over and over agian in the background without stopping. Like just rotating. Also Ray now kinda looks like Larry from Sally Face like all icky and detailed also I’m talking about him specifically dead like Cult Larry.
Ray shouts gibberish into the camera but finally the static gets through as “I Did it *my real name* I killed Gee,” “He said that I wasn’t the real alpha I had to I HAD TOO,”
“This is all real alpha *my real name* I don’t take steroids,” “IM STIGMA LOOK AT M-“
Then it cut off and it Glitched back to when I woke up and found out that Gerard was dead and the wanted poster and everything but this time I turned to Ray then and there and he sobbing holding a “We need a bartender” card and a beer bottle while sadly looking at me. (Like those pictures of him 😈)
Then I was like This can’t be real it can’t be he isn’t then I awoked 😋
I think I’m going insane 😍
An Invader Zim character was in there somewhere just not sure where 🤧
Also Gerard tried to crawl out of the casket at the funeral but Frank beat him back in with an acoustic guitar but for some weird reason my mind didn’t register that at all so I just forgot but remembered it happened
Dreams are confusing 😭
#mcr#gerard way#ray toro#mikey way#frank iero#lore#brain rot#my dreams are horrific#help 😢#i am not mentally well#I also am not rereading this so it could not make sense at all but ur just gonna have to live with that 😮💨

more Buddie confirmation right in front of our salads
More space/universe aka future:
Not to mention, Christopher has the bag, then Buck, and then Buck hands it to Ramon. Son to Buck to another father.
In the same episode that we get a dinner date (with Buck cooking) between Buck and Tommy:
Buck: "So maybe we both have Daddy issues." Tommy: "I don't." Buck: "But you think I do?" Tommy: "God, I hope so."
The very next scene is Eddie talking to his parents and we get:
Ramon: "Fathers are human. Sons don't always handle this news well." Eddie: "I'm not letting him run away from home because he's mad at me." Ramon: "Your son is trying to tell you what he needs. Don't wait 30 years before you listen. You'll regret it."
So in this episode we have:
Bobby's life on the line
A grandfather trying to get revenge for his grandson (after mentioning his own son/their relationship in the last episode we saw him in)
Buck talking about how Bobby is like a father to him
Tommy saying he doesn't talk to his dad; that he only had Gerrard (which was a very weird statement to me until I saw the end of the episode and went "aha!")
Christopher refuses to talk to Eddie because he's angry and hurting; he even called his grandparents to come get him so he can stay with them for a while
Ramon giving Eddie advice to let Christopher go because it's what he needs, coming from the perspective of his own regret with how he handled things with Eddie
Bobby (Buck's dad) being replaced by Gerrard (a former captain of the 118 - there's that Ramon/Eddie parallel again btw - and who Tommy "looked up" to)
Bobby not having been honest with the 118 about a decision he'd made; Eddie not having been honest with Christopher about Kim (well, I should say that Christopher found out about anyway) - both fathers/father figures
This all leads to: Fathers & Sons (as well as the theme of family)
But it's also important that this episode reaffirms Buck as Christopher's other parent (in the present). Yes, we been knew on this point already. It's been hammered home and hammered home time and time again. But it's literally confirmed in this episode right in front of our faces. Not because Eddie called Buck to talk to Christopher but because of the literal passing of the backpack which is sporting a theme that has been featured for Buddipher before (future).
From Christopher (the son):
To Buck (another son/father):
To Ramon (another father whose son's heart is breaking as he's losing his own son):
Buck doesn't hand the backpack to Helena or even Eddie (so Christopher will need to retrieve it from him/talk to him). He doesn't place it down on the ground or on thee couch (which btw he oh so conveniently sits on the arm of it earlier in the episode in the scene where Eddie begs him to intervene with Christopher). He hands it right to Ramon who then shoulders it.
So not only does this confirm that yes, Buck has daddy issues and that he can identify with Christopher (based on what he went through, his understanding now, and his own evolved relationship with his parents), but he is indeed the second parent.
In the same season we saw both the Buckley parents and the Diaz parents resurface, when Buck and Eddie are going through their own journeys of some deep inner reflection.
Guys, I don't know how else to say this but we are at that point. Looking at everything from above, we are literally this close. It's either make or break time coming up soon in the narrative. They're not even being coy or subtle about it anymore. That's not dunking on BuckTommy btw (there is a reason Buck and Tommy have graduated from the beer prop to the wine prop this episode - think Taylor/Abby/Shannon/Ana, etc.). That relationship still needs to be seen through and obviously, Eddie still has some more grief and things to work through, but they literally have Buck and Eddie's narrative circling each other. Eddie didn't ask Marisol for help on this one - he went straight to Buck. He also didn't try to shoulder it alone - he immediately called Buck. Hence Buck mentioning to him that Christopher can't keep Eddie out of his room and Eddie's response to that. If you think back to how far we've come with Eddie and his character development: learning to ask for help when he needs it, not taking on everything alone, being able to admit when he has a problem/struggle...it is phenomenal that Eddie called Buck up immediately to get him over there to help with Christopher. Not that he hasn't trusted Buck with Christopher in the past, not that he doesn't truck Buck implicitly as his best friend and shift partner, but he literally realized in 0.02 seconds that he fucked up and called the one person he not only knew could get through to Christopher (if anyone could) but also would help him in this situation. Buck may have known about Kim but now so does Marisol, and it's obvious that Marisol has a relationship with Christopher as well. She may be hurt and angry with Eddie, but if Eddie asked her to talk to Christopher, if she knew how dire this was for Christopher, I'm not sure she would have told Eddie "tough, you cheated on me, screw you".
But regardless of what Marisol would have or wouldn't have done, the point is, Buck is there as Other Dad and it's confirmed right in front of our salads. And then the partner/parent confirmation:
And if you need confirmation that props, blocking, and framing are a thing, look at the picture behind Ramon and Helena. Texas. Exactly where Christopher is going. Look at the open front door and the open door leading to the kitchen, purposely in the shot as Eddie kneels down to talk to Christopher, telling him he can always come back. Look at the fireplace (aka theme of home/hearth) Buck is standing in front of as he watches the scene unfold. Look at the way they framed Ramon and Helena vs Buck and Eddie. Ramon, Eddie's father, is on the right and Eddie, Christopher's father is on the right. They even touch in a similar manner (with less space between Ramon and Helena obviously). They even make sure to cement that connection of the two fathers in the shot of Ramon looking at Eddie, still shouldering the backpack, and closing the door. They even have Buck with his hands in his pockets and Eddie is about to do the same until Helena reaches out for Eddie's hand.
Framing.
Blocking.
Props.
Christopher is Eddie's son, his future. His future who just walked out the door with his grandparents. It's all there. I mean:
The same episode that mentions lost romantic partners: Ayanna, Emmett, and Shannon. Amir helps people. Athena has Bobby. And Eddie has...?
Amir + Ayanna = AA (he lost her in a fatal fire but she was the love of his life) Athena + Bobby = AB (they've both lost people but are now together and going strong) Eddie + ? = E?
The same episode where Maddie and Chim take in Mara temporarily until Hen and Karen can get her back to complete their family and we also see a scene between Bathena and the kids being grateful that they have each other.
The same episode where the two couples (Madney and Henren) are having a dinner together (the takeout) and so are Buck and Tommy (that Buck made).
The only person without a romantic partner this episode with this shared theme of dinner and prop of wine (for romance and family meals) was Eddie. He had no partner.
Or did he?
#buddie#buddieposts#911posts#911#buck x eddie#evan x eddie#buddie meta#metaposts#this episode was mind-blowing#for many reasons#but especially this right in our faces#and i cried like a baby when Christopher left#not ashamed to admit it

“Person of Interest” - Beau Arlen x Reader
Part 3 (Final) of the “Guardian of the Gulch” Series (Read Part 1 Here, Read Part 2 Here)
Rating Teen
Beau Arlen x Reader
Tags: Fluff and Flirting, First Kiss (Finally! Get it Beau!)
Word Count: 2300
There's a new sheriff in town. And he just so happens to have parked his RV in your campgrounds. What's a park ranger to do with all that Texas charm strutting around on a fine pair of bow legs?
I'm participating in @jacklesversebingo and this part will fill my "Anonymous Gifts/Flowers" square.
Writing about Beau for the first time was so much fun. He's got such a sweet, gentle, charming, goofy way about him on the show. I am at least making sure in my story that Beau gets his kiss. (I have also been asked by a friend to maybe have a little "Big Sky After Dark" epilogue at some point. Will see.) I've gotten a lot of inspiration from my bingo card. Thoroughly enjoyed participating and hope to mark off every square... at some point.
Also, diving into Helena history for this date I came a lot of interesting facts and fun places along Last Chance Gulch Street.
Image created in Canva (credit for photo used: “Big Sky”/ABC)
Since you’d asked Beau out on a date - apparently, that was news to you - it was also up to you to pick the when and where. That was how he'd left it that night around the fire, anyway, with a wink and a smile.
It had been a busy few days after the fourth of July for the both of you. But, you’d settled on a Sunday evening, crossing fingers there were no abductions or bank robberies.
There was never a dull moment in Helena.
You’d decided on a time and place. The plan was to meet at The Windbag Saloon and Grill. You sat at the bar, sipping your Huckleberry Mule.
Your eyes dart to the door every time it swishes open. When you finally spot him entering, a sharp inhale steadies you. The nerves that wound you up all day threaten to release fast enough to spin you like a top upon the stool.
His gaze skates over the scene once, twice. The double-take and zoning in on your face when he clocks you forces you to exhale. You wish it didn’t sound like a frightened puppy. Thank goodness he can’t hear it. Recollection fills his face, and that sunbeam smile melts you.
He takes the stroll over. You internally confirmed sitting at the farthest end of the bar was the right decision. It gives you ample time to enjoy the view of the sheriff and prepare to be devastated by all that handsome up close.
He has a full, bouncy head of hair you’d kill for. Scratch that. You’d kill to run your fingers through it. His denim jacket with a fleece collar and hints of the warm and fuzzy liner has you imagining him offering it to you on a chilly walk. You only want to get a better look at the broad shoulders and chest underneath. The shine of his silver belt buckle directs you further south for probably a second longer than would have been appropriate to stare.
You sip a little more liquid courage.
“Did I get the time wrong?” he asks, confused and already looking apologetic when he meets you at the bar. He strums a few fingers on the countertop.
“Nope.” With a head shake, you offer the adjacent stool with an outstretched hand. “I was extra early. And you were early.”
He sighs and slides in beside you. “If you’re early, you’re on time. That’s what I was taught, anyway.”
“Slow day at the office?” you ask.
The bartender drops a coaster and a napkin in front of Beau and asks what he’s having. He requests a beer, then returns to your question in a flash. “Not particularly. Why do you ask?”
You decide to try the all-knowing approach. “You had time to have flowers delivered to Linda Devonshire.”
The caught-off-guard smirk gives him away. “Me? Flowers to Linda?” He tuts. “Why would I send flowers to a married woman?”
“Oh, I don’t know. Probably because you were as ecstatic as everyone else in the park, knowing she was packing up and heading back home. I’ll bet you had the date circled on your calendar.” You spin in the seat a fraction. Inadvertently, you swish a knee over his denim-covered thigh while attempting to cross your legs.
He reacts a fraction to the touch, staring at the floor between you. His lips purse, and his brows lower. “Well, being as happy as the rest of those in Black Sandy State Park is not enough motive to suspect I’m the one that sent the flowers. Not very good detective work. Need a little more proof to convict.”
“Hm.” You shrug and wait for him to prod you more for your reasoning.
Instead, he licks his lips and smiles. “I didn’t recognize you dressed as a civilian.”
You straighten up and toss the hair back over your shoulder dramatically. “Didn’t think I could clean up this well?”
He shakes his head, all serious. “Nah. I just didn’t think you could get any prettier.”
That shuts you up.
~
“Yellowfin?” The server asks the both of you, now at a table after finishing your first round of drinks at the bar.
Your hand raises.
After the sandwich plate lands in front of you, the server confirms to Beau, “And the Vigilante for you?”
Beau nods, rubbing hands together, taking in the contents of his meal with high brows. “Yes, indeed.”
“Anything else right now?”
Beau points to you in wait, but you shake your head.
“All good for now, thanks,” he answers.
You groan, looking at Beau’s burger. “There is so much going on over there.”
He lifts the bun. “Yeah. Candied jalapenos. Grilled ham and onions. An over-easy egg.”
“Not to mention the half-pound of beef underneath all that.”
He resituates the bun and wiggles it in place. “Don’t forget the huckleberry barbecue sauce. I may regret it later. Worth it.”
You laugh. “I hope so, for your sake. Otherwise, this may be a pretty early night.”
He chuckles. “I don’t think anything could mess up tonight. Even my poor menu choices.”
The certainty in his voice makes you smile. “Kind of surprising you haven’t stumbled onto this spot yet since you’ve been in town. Considering how close it is to the sheriff’s office.”
“Well, the Boot Heel is where I usually end up with Hoyt and Cassie.”
You nod. “There’s a lot of history along Last Chance Gulch Street. Worth checking out and getting acquainted. Being the new sheriff in town and all.” You bite into a french fry.
“Hey, I did some research.” He clamps his large, beefy hands around the large, beefy burger. “This street was between a bunch of mining claims, where a lot of gold prospectors got rich.” He nods and confirms, “Give me a second with this, if you don’t mind?”
You laugh and wave both hands in permission. “Of course.”
He bites down and chews. Eyes close. Deep in thought. “Oh, yeah,” he mumbles around the burger. “This was the worst idea in the best way.”
“Take it easy there.” You try to jest. Truthfully, you wouldn’t mind sitting back and enjoying the show.
He swallows and sips on his second beer. “Man, it’s good I walked ten minutes from the office. I’m gonna need fresh air to clear my head and some exercise after all this.”
“Maybe I can interest you in a little walk down Last Chance Gulch after this.” Your suggestion raises his cheeks with a grin. You add, “History lesson and all that to accompany your calorie burning.”
“I’d like that.” He dabs the barbecue sauce off the corner of his mouth. He thumbs towards the outside of the restaurant. “Know who the lady is on The Windbag sign?”
“Oh, that’d be ‘Big Dorothy’.”
“Big Dorothy, huh? She the original owner?”
“Not of the saloon. She ran a business on these premises. Got closed down in 1973.” You sample your sandwich and watch Beau enjoy another bite of his burger. You wait until he’s thoroughly invested in the act, swallow, and then continue. “It was a brothel.
His face stills in mid-chew.
You giggle.
He exaggerates his munching for a few seconds more.
“The place was called ‘Dorothy’s Rooms’. She was actually very well respected in Helena. Donated to lots of charities, and then the police had to go and raid her establishment and shut it all down. You may wanna tread lightly, Sheriff. Dorothy’s ghost might not appreciate your kind under her roof.”
“Noted.” He clears his throat.
~
Your guided walking tour doesn’t have the intended effect of calorie burning. Instead, you sit with Beau in a green wooden booth at The Parrot Confectionery. You’re splitting a Parrot Special Sundae.
“Oh, man.” Beau indulges in his first spoonful. It’s wondrous to behold how much enjoyment the man has with his food.
The evening has been filled with light and easy conversation to start. Lots of laughter mixed with information gathering from both of you as the date wore on. You spill about your life, years back, out west. You aren’t ready to divulge much about the relationship you left behind except the marriage had not worked out as expected. Beau’s a bit guarded as well with specific details. Something had happened on the job, though, in Houston. Something alarming enough to have him quit the force. And you think it might be one of the reasons he was now divorced.
Beau’s eyes sparkle. “I’ll have to take Em here.”
You nod. “Definitely.” He lights up every time he talks about his daughter. It’s sweet and makes him even more endearing. It almost makes you feel bad thinking naughty thoughts as his tongue laboriously licks the fudge off his spoon.
“Gotta say, darlin’, it feels like you’ve given me the key to the city tonight.”
“And plenty of indigestion.”
“I told ya. Worth it,” he insists. It’s his turn to watch you eat a few spoonfuls. You focus on the strawberry scoop. He seems to gravitate toward the huckleberry flavor and completely avoid the split banana underneath it all.
“Well, we could walk a little more to the end of the street after this,” you suggest. “I mean, the old fire tower is down that way. But you’ve gotta know about that. Impossible to miss.”
“Oh, yeah, I know all about the Guardian of the Gulch.”
You smile. “Did I forget to mention that Linda Devonshire dropped off the flowers she got to the ranger’s office before she left?”
The spoon Beau is holding clinks the sundae bowl. “You did forget to mention that.”
You swirl your spoon in the vanilla. “Well, she thanked us and said the flowers would probably hold up better staying with us than the trek back home. And she also read the note aloud to see if we had any idea who the anonymous sender was.”
Beau sighs. “Of course she did.”
You tap a finger on your chin. “What was it exactly? Oh, yes. The note said, ‘Thank you for your excellent matchmaking skills. ~ a Guardian of the Gulch’. She was completely perplexed by it. Said she hadn’t gone out of her way to coordinate any dates or encounters in Helena. Didn’t know anyone well enough for that. But we did get to hear about how she’s introduced about a dozen people to their current spouses in her home state.”
Beau lifts both shoulders. A sheepish smile forms. “If it hadn’t been for Linda’s complaints, I might not have gotten all those chances to get to know you a little better. And we wouldn’t be sitting here now.”
“This all sounds very silver lining thinking.”
“I try. On occasion.”
~
You roll into a parking spot in the lot behind the Sheriff’s office, engine idling. Beau’s in the passenger seat.
“Well, I hope I didn’t keep you out too late.” He leans into the backrest. A couple of creaks emit from his spine. “I appreciate you walking with me up and down Last Chance Gulch after dessert. Between the beer and the beef and the banana split, every step counts.”
You smile. “This was nice. We should do it again sometime.” He opens his mouth, but you cut him off, “I know, you accept.”
The warmth of his fingers gliding over yours, gripping the steering wheel, tingles your skin. Half in the night’s shadow, his face scolds with scrunched lips and slitted lids. “Give a man a chance to ask you out properly, would ya?”
You laugh to soothe your nerves. “I didn’t realize I’d asked you out again. Hell, I didn’t realize I’d asked you out the first time.”
He tilts his head. “I may have pulled the trigger on that one. Guess I’m finding it hard to be patient when it comes to…” He trails off, quiets, and looks serious. You realize he’s staring at your mouth.
“Sheriff!”
You both flinch in your seats. Deputy Poppernak is heading towards the passenger side of your car. Beau straightens, and you oblige the greeting and roll down his window.
“Hey, Poptop.” Beau razzes.
“Thought you’d left hours ago.” Poppernak halts five feet from the car, spots you, and waves. “How’s things going, Ranger?”
“Just fine, Deputy. How about you?” you ask.
“Can’t complain. Done for the day after a lot of paperwork. Headin’ home.”
The three of you nod in unison for an uncomfortably long amount of time.
“Okay.” Poppernak offers a friendly salute. “Night.”
You watch the deputy hop into a family van and drive off rather quickly.
“Well,” Beau sighs, “this is gonna be all over the office in the morning.”
“This?” you question. Beau eyes you. “How do you think they’re gonna classify this?”
He smiles. “Well, I guess this would be me spending some time with a person of interest. And actually, I think I’m gonna need to spend a lot more time with this person of interest. So, would you give me the pleasure of taking you out on another date, darlin’?”
All you can do is nod. His mossy green eyes sparkle. Cool fingertips round the shell of your ear. You shiver as he traces your jawline, moving in to close the gap. And then, nothing but you breathing in his warmth as he exhales softly into the kiss. It’s gentle and careful. But he tests how your lips fit and press against each other from a few angles. He settles for a spell and feasts on your mouth.
He pulls away. His fingers trail from your chin after a sweet pinch. “Are you free next weekend?”
You nod, dazed.
He grins. “Good. I’ll pick you up at your place if you’re comfortable with that?”
You nod again.
“Thank you for the ride.” He hops out of the car and closes the door with a soft click. Leaning into the still-open window he leaves you with, “Be careful headin’ home.”
“You too, Beau.”
He smiles from ear to ear, taps the window sill, and walks to his jeep. You can’t help but wait until he slides into the driver’s seat and gives you a wave. You shift into drive and leave the lot.
You can’t remember much of the actual ride home. Your mind is filled only with thoughts of Sheriff Beau Arlen. They make you smile. Hum along to the radio. You’re light as a feather and full of hope for what’s to come.
All because of a Guardian of the Gulch.

eddie is so conflict-averse and non-confrontational unless he's pushed to his absolute limit because he grew up in helena's house with an absent father pushed into parentification. so he always had to function. always had to be okay. so that his mother could have somebody to lean on. he couldn't act out, couldn't break the rules, couldn't fuck up at school, couldn't fail, couldn't not be okay. because if eddie wasn't perfectly fine then helena wouldn't have somebody to help her out and his sisters wouldn't have a proper role model who was there for them when ramon and helena weren't. so of course eddie learns to just ignore his emotions because they don't matter, to always be perfectly fine, to not complain, to just do what he's supposed to, and maybe rarely bend the rules if the consequences are worth it and don't leave helena or his sisters hanging. like, pushing his curfew a little? fine if he's still up in time to take the girls to their sports day. underage drinking? it's only one beer and he's not driving and he'll eat something greasy after so his parents won't smell anything. and then eddie's 18 and he avoided having sex until then because he didn't want the risk of being a teen dad and the church and texan sex ed made is seem a little daunting and very risky so he just.. didn't and he had good enough excuses to not do it (that had nothing to do with wishing he could be the girl in the situation sometimes or wishing the hands on his dick were bigger and calloused and not soft and dainty). but then he's 18 and he can't avoid shannon any longer and they're as safe as possible and they plan everything out and shannon just came off her period so she isn't ovulating for sure and she's on the pill and they use condoms and shannon still gets pregnant because of course she does, and suddenly eddie "functioning" and being perfectly fine just doesn't work anymore.
cool! i'm gonna go walk into the ocean now <3

no you know what, i’m just gonna say it. eddie isn’t the teenager his parents like to treat him as. i get that he feels guilty, i get that he feels like he had to let chris go. but the fact that after three months he seemingly hasn’t put his foot down with his parents when it comes to decisions about his child is just so damn frustrating and…i hate to say unacceptable but frankly that’s the only word that comes to mind. they don’t need to run every day to day decision by him, i’m not saying that, that’s ridiculous and obsessive, but like is he spending time alone with these kids? at their houses? at the lake where eddie and his friends used to drink beer and meet girls when he was exactly chris’ age? how hard is it to set up a facetime call between eddie and their parents? that’s just one example. we all love to blame helena, and oh boy is she at fault, but it’s on eddie too and from the little we’ve seen it doesn’t feel like he’s pushing the issue. daily/weekly calls to keep him updated, to share information, to discuss how they’re going to work together to move towards chris coming home eventually, how they’re going to keep structure and consistency in chris’ life during this time. i get that eddie’s relationship with his parents is complicated and that this isn’t an easy situation. i’m not trying to brush that aside. but to show eddie as not fighting for his son is just…ugh. its so frustrating. it’s only episode one. i’m going to hope that we see him be less passive in all of this moving forward. or if it’s intentional, to have a scene where he tells someone that he doesn’t think chris’ place is with him anymore. because that’s how he is acting. from just one scene that is the message i am receiving. it’s like last season when eddie moved a woman with no last name that he’d known for maybe five months into their home while chris was out of town on a business trip all over again. eddie is an amazing father. he’s the best father. it’s time he acted like it.

Theirs: Chapter One
All my work is purely aimed at those 18+ so minors kindly, DNI.
Summary: You've just moved back to Helena after getting fired from your previous job. Desperate for cash you become a dancer at a strip club. Strong-willed and independent, you've never needed a man, that is until you meet the handsome Sheriff of Helena. Gentle and considerate, he melts your heart in a way no Alpha could. Then there's Dean (not Winchester). Rough-around-the-edges, with tattoos covering him from head to toe, and a heated stare that makes your heart race. But an Omega can only have one Alpha, right? That's what you've been taught. Only neither one will concede to the other, and you find yourself unable to choose.
Characters: You, OC Lou, mystery man.
Chapter warnings: Adult language, transgender OC (though, I don't truthfully see her as transgender anymore as she's fully transitioned).
W/C: 1, 609
A/N: I haven't abandoned The Choice, so don't worry! :) I'm going to try and post alternating chapters.
You sat on the lumpy couch, surrounded by boxes scribbled with ‘kitchen’ or ‘bedroom’ on. You didn’t have the energy just yet to start unpacking. With your head in your hands, you assessed how you came to be here, in your aunt’s trailer, back in Helena, with no job and your bank account quickly dwindling.
It was simple. You’d fucked up. Punched your boss in the nose, and oh, God, it had sprayed like a fountain, but in your defence, he’d said one too many derogatory things about Omegas behind your back, and you’d had enough.
With your finances in dire straits, you could no longer afford the blockers that kept your heat away. If you didn’t figure things out pretty quickly, you’d be going through Hell soon.
You surveyed the boxes scattered around the living area. This was your life. If you’d held your anger…Hell, even counted to ten, or even a hundred…then maybe, just maybe, you wouldn’t be in this situation… However, feeling sorry for yourself was gonna get you nowhere. You knew that. But you couldn’t help it.
Your phone buzzed beside you. You sighed and picked it up. It was an old-school friend you hadn’t spoken to in years. You tapped on the DM, instantly opening up the app.
Lou: Heard y’all were back in town. We should meet up, grab a drink, and catch up! XXX
The image in the profile portrayed a woman with long brown hair and bright blue eyes that you definitely recognised. She sure looked familiar. And as you wracked your brains, it came to you. She used to be a he.
No way. You smiled, remembering how Lou was in school. You’d catch them staring off into space, watching girls go about their activities as you both sat on the bleachers. You thought that maybe Lou fancied them. Guess not. Just going through some things and trying to understand who they were, just like you and everyone else. And maybe she did fancy girls as well. You weren’t gonna judge.
By the looks of it, Lou still went by Lou, as her profile name indicated. You fired back a message telling her you’d be delighted to. It would be good to catch up with an old friend. You wondered where she was in life. Hopefully in a better place than you were.
That’s exactly what you did. You dug into your suitcase, found a shimmery little number and donned your favourite cowboy boots for comfort.
*
You returned to your old stomping ground, The Silver Dollar. It was old as dirt, with old wood built into a classic saloon style. And it was packed. Bodies heaved as you pushed your way through, looking for Lou, memorising the image from her social media account.
A mix of scents accosted your nose. Beta colognes and perfumes that made your nose itch, earthy Alpha scents and the occasional sweeter scent of an Omega.
Heads turned as you made your way through to the bar, whereupon Lou sat on a stool, drinking a beer.
She looked amazing. Barely recognisable from her old self, but you guessed that was the whole point. She had a great figure, jeans that hugged her in all the right places and a low-cut top to show off her ample cleavage. Fuck. You were jealous and found you were quickly developing a girl crush.
Lou slid off her seat and enveloped you in a hug. You wrapped your arms around her, giving her a meaningful hug. It felt good to be here. Maybe getting fired wasn’t such a bad thing after all.
When she pulled back, she whistled.
“Look at you. You look so grown up.”
You laughed. Grown-up was right.
“What about you. You’re the one that’s changed much more than me.”
Lou grinned from ear to ear. And your heart almost burst with happiness for her. She nodded, grabbed her beer and took a sip.
“High school was a struggle. I didn’t show it cause it was a me thing. I thought I just fancied girls, but I somehow knew it was more than that. I didn’t wanna just be with a girl. I wanted to be one.”
Lou had been one of your best friends in school, and you regretted not keeping in touch with her. Life moved quickly in those years, and before you knew it, ten years had passed.
“Well, I’m really sorry I didn’t keep in touch. I should’ve.”
Lou waved a hand dismissively.
“Naw, I was Hell to be around when I was transitioning. Who knew oestrogen was a bitch. Felt like I was experiencing puberty all over again.”
You laughed and nodded. Being a woman certainly came with its hormonal challenges.
“Anyway, look at you. Gunna catch everyone’s eye in that.”
You looked down at the silver sequined dress. You were a damn glitterball. You blushed, suddenly bashful of the attention.
She grabbed the bartender’s attention and waved him over.
“What’s your poison?”
“Jim Bean and coke.”
She slammed her hand on the bartop.
“And that’s what you’ll have. Barkeep! Make my stunning friend her drink of choice!”
You laughed, cheeks hurting from laughing so much. It felt good to let loose. And Lou certainly was mesmerising.
Lou insisted on paying for your first drink. No matter how much you protested, she wouldn’t have it any other way.
The first whiskey and coke went down way too easily. As did the second. And the third.
You drank to forget your problems. And to have a good time.
Lou rested her hand on your shoulder.
“I know a troubled soul when I see one. What’s up?”
You shrugged.
“Jus’ ev’rythin’.”
You turned, giving her your attention.
“It’s dumb. But the reason why I came back is cause I got fired. I haven’t found a job yet, and I’m kinda panicking.”
A look of concern crossed her face, and the hand on your shoulder squeezed gently.
“It’s a shitty situation. But you’re back home. You got your family, and you got me. What about your Alpha?”
You snorted.
“Ain’t got one of them.”
“Well…take your pick. We got an abundance of ‘em in Helena. An’ for no damn reason…” She trailed off and raised her beer bottle to her lips again.
“If I don’t find a job real soon, a bunch of them might be hammering down my door when I go into heat.”
“If it’s a job you want, I got an idea. You might not like it. Just how desperate are you?”
“I’d do anything. Hell, I’m at the point where I might just go and stand on the damn street corner. That’s how desperate I am.”
She hmmed. She twisted her body to reach for something in her bag. It was a pen and a jotter. She scribbled something down and passed the sticky note to you. It was a number.
“Just remember, I told you you might not like it, but seeing as you’re desperate. It’s easy money. Great money, in fact. I worked there for a little while, too, so I can put in a good word.”
Your eyebrows raised. “Thanks. You didn’t have to, y’know.”
“Just…wear that dress, and you’ll be right in.”
“Lou…” You said in a warning tone.
You didn’t understand why you’d have to wear a silver dress to a job interview. And you knew she was withholding information.
She sighed.
“Fine. It’s a strip club,” she started, raising her hands up, seeing you about to protest. “It’s really good money, just call the number. You won’t regret it.”
You had reservations. For one, it was a strip club. And you were an Omega. That limited what you could do. You weren’t sure you were that desperate. Yet. Regardless, you tucked the Post-It in your cowboy boot for safekeeping.
“Atta girl. Now, let’s just get shit-faced.”
That you had no problem in agreeing to.
Plenty of drinks later, you and Lou giggled like schoolgirls into your drinks, heads leant close together.
“C’mon, tell me, when you were all healed, how often did you touch yourself?”
Lou giggled and leant even closer, her voice dropping, just for you to hear.
“Girl, I got so wet over the stupidest things. Had my fingers inside myself more than out. Thank you, Dr Warren, for blessing me with such a great pussy.”
You giggled into your drink. You could attest to getting horny over dumb things. Thankfully, you’d calmed down, but those late teen years had been something else.
“I remember shaving my vajayjay for the first time, and I found myself hella horny. Like, nobody tells you that! I think I humped the armrest of my couch just to get some kind of relief.”
She snorted. Then you heard the rumbling of a deep chuckle.
“Sure would have found some relief under my tongue, that’s for sure.”
He said it quietly. More to himself than to anyone.
You turned to the owner of the deep masculine voice, a retort ready on your tongue, but it died the moment you saw the burly giant of a man.
His eyes pierced yours. You couldn’t tell if they were brown or hazel. Tendrils of hair framed his face, and the rest was pulled up in a bun. Tats covered his arms, neck, and every bit of skin on his body, as evident from the massive hole in his muscle tee. He held a tumbler with amber liquid inside, swilling the contents, and your eyes honed in on his fingers, where intricate patterns covered each digit.
He was a modern-day Viking.
Then you felt it. The slight quiver in your pussy.

Sharing some more Polyevil hcs I have because I love them.
Going off my idea of Luis being a biology professor after RE4, he’s home alone the most because his boyfriends are off on missions a lot (Carlos included because I hc he’s with the BSAA). Because of this, he spends a lot of time prettying up Leon’s apartment and/or Chris’s house if he’s staying there. Both of them don’t care as long as he isn’t moving or breaking anything important.
Leon is the only one among them who’s not over six foot, and for that reason, whenever the others want him to stop drinking, they’ll just put his beer in a place he can’t reach with his height. He tries giving them puppy eyes in hopes they’ll allow him to have his alcohol, but it never works.
All four of them watch MLP because I think it’s funny. It started with Carlos watching it, Luis joined him, then Chris started watching it with those two, and finally, Leon, who won’t ever admit he’s watching it when it’s on.
Follow up to the last one, they all do have favorite MLP characters. Carlos’s is Fluttershy, Luis’s is a tie between Twilight Sparkle and Rarity, Chris’s is Rainbow Dash, and Leon’s is Applejack.
All four of them are cuddles, and keep in mind three of the four of them are considerably buff men. RIP Luis, you died due to your boyfriends’ cuddles (jk, he very much is alive and loves their cuddles).
I like to hc that Chris is the only cis one among the polycule because it’s silly. Leon and Carlos are trans (FTM), and Luis is genderfluid because I’m genderfluid, and his hair is very gender to me.
Between the four of them, they have “adopted” two sons and six daughters. One of them they actually raised (aka Rose), everyone else is just considered as a son/daughter to them (which is Jake, Piers, Sheva, Sherry, Manuela, Ashley, and Helena). Why am I saying this? They’re girl dads (/hj).
I recall sharing a hc about Leon and Luis having plushies, which are a wolf and a donkey, and they use them to cheer up Rose on her rough days. Chris and Carlos have one each as well, which Chris’s is a bear, and Carlos’s is a ram.
Speaking of Rose, after Ethan died, and Chris got custody of her once Mia left, the polycule have a strict rule not to replace her parents. They’ll do parent-like acts with her, but they’ll never force her to consider them as her parents. They don’t want her to replace the memory of Ethan and Mia with them.
They do movie nights to celebrate/welcome each other from getting back from work. Luis plans them most of the time as again, he’s the one home the most.
That’s all ✨

Where CANON and FANON collide!
Their Firsts, At Last - A FANON series that tells Buck & Eddie's FANON love story! It begins with their First Love Confession and will continue until their firsts are complete. They got married in Part 13.
Currently, I'm working on Part 14 of this series and I'm super excited about it because in Part 13, Buck and Eddie got married and everyone they invited to their Civil Marriage Ceremony attended except for Helena Diaz and the Buckley parents.
They got married on Friday, December 22nd, Bobby officiated and they received a large monetary wedding gift from Buck's godparents Bill and Sandra Miller. Chris spent the night at Tia Pepa's with Adriana, Sophia and their families but Helena left before the wedding and Ramon took an early morning flight back to El Paso because he wasn't going to miss the ceremony.
Part 14 begins with Eddie and Buck getting ready to leave Los Angeles for 8 days and 7 nights to celebrate their honeymoon and they're both excited. When they got engaged, they had no idea where they were going but Eddie bought four raffle tickets and one was drawn for the grand prize. He won a family vacation to Rome, Italy and the Buckley-Diaz Family will be leaving on Saturday, December 23rd at 3:15PM headed to their destination.
______________
Here's a romantically fluffy snippet from Part 14 of Buck and Eddie making out and being kind of uninhibited.
______________
Immediately, the mood shifts and the air surrounding them becomes charged with sexual tension and romantic intimacy.
Since the cabin lights are dim, only the overhead lights are illuminating the space and other than the sounds coming from the TV and the aircraft’s four engines that are running at full blast as they fly closer to the Atlantic Ocean, there aren’t any other noises inside of their first-class one bedroom suite. The entry door is closed and locked and currently it’s just the two of them sitting on the sofa in the lounge area because their son went to bed about an hour ago.
While holding each other’s gazes, Eddie watches as his husband’s eyes darken and his pupils widen. He recognizes that look and he knows it well because he’s seen it before and he fully understands what it means since it’s the look Buck gets whenever he wants to devour him. It’s the same look he had the night they were standing in the kitchen at the loft after Buck apologized again for filing the lawsuit.
Buck asked him a question, “You want to go for the title?”
He remembers it and even though he’s not drinking a beer like he was that night; he still swallows and his Adam’s apple bobs up and down because he wants him now just like he wanted him back then.
Without breaking eye contact, Buck closes the cover on his iPad then he sits it to the side. Next, he lowers the tray table, raises his hand and turns off the overhead lights followed by him moving towards him like a Sumatran tiger does when he’s getting ready to pounce on his prey.
Once Buck’s face is right in front of his, he moves closer until their lips are mere millimeters apart and he holds his husband’s gaze for a second then he whispers his name like a prayer and softly says, “Eddie!”
“Buck!” He whispers back with so much love and emotion it makes his heart race a little.
As soon as his husband’s name leaves his lips, Buck closes the gap between them and passionately kisses him. It’s long, deep and slow and they get lost in it, so much so that Eddie ends up lying on his back with Buck on top of him.
He loves it when Buck’s adventurous like this since and he’s heard the stories about Buck 1.0 having sex in firetrucks, on rooftops and in bar restrooms. But that was then and this is now and he’s not worried about any of those people because Buck’s all his, they’re married now and he has the wedding ring on his left hand to prove it.
As they lick, moan and pant into each other’s mouths, he does his best to remain conscious of the fact that they’re inside of an airplane.
When Buck breaks it, he starts kissing Eddie’s cheek followed by him moving his head to the side and he places an open mouth kiss underneath his earlobe.
Eddie quietly moans and he pushes his hips up to let him know he wants him.
Buck gently scrapes his teeth over his earlobe and it turns Eddie on even more.
He’s about to speak but Buck speaks first. He whisper asks, “Do you want to join the mile high club?”
Will Eddie join the mile high club with his husband as they cross the Atlantic Ocean? 🤷🏽♀️
______________
Their Firsts, At Last - 224K Words; Currently 13 completed works: A multi-part fanfic series about the romantic “firsts” Buck and Eddie share as they journey through life in an established relationship and their lives as a couple will include some of Buck’s individual “firsts” too. The second part of the series title was adapted from the song “At Last” by Etta James.
