supernatural makes me CRAZYY because its not just that the characters are trapped in a narrative it's that the characters are born into one narrative and then written over a million times. John was a shitty dad his morality is THE elephant in the room from the beginning of the show. references to the family business and family duty were always sardonic and tragic that's not a fan reading that's the POINT that's the PREMISE. so for the show to end the way it did if taken at face value is like. I'm putting everyone involved in a cage and asking them what they think their show was about.

while I think supernatural DOES have an issue with misogyny in the writing when it comes to female characters there’s a lot of complex & interesting characters to stan & the larger problem is with the show overalls unwillingness to expand the narrative & focus on ANY characters other than Sam & Dean which stops working after awhile in a long running drama regardless of any characters gender

I do stand by my original hatred for Hannah from when I watched years ago tho. she’s literally the most annoying character her entire thing is being a more bland version of pre-arc Castiel & honestly I can even forgive her for being boring cause who cares but what I can’t forgive is how insufferable Cas becomes around her. like be annoying if you must but making a beloved blorbo who I usually always enjoy become annoying to me when y’all are onscreen together is unforgivable sorry

my feelings on hannah are giving that one popular post that’s like “I hate when I can’t even defend a female character from fandom hate cause they’re kinda right.” 😭
