Five is willing to sacrifice his own humanity for the sake of his siblings, but is his humanity really the most important thing he could lose? how old do you consider each character of the show? i believe you mentioned that you don't consider a lot of them canon

A lot of the 'canon' ages seemed to follow the ages of the actors (like House in season one saying Chase was 26-- iirc Jesse Spencer was 26 at the time), but those definitely don't fit in with the timeline it takes to get through med school. From what I've read (and I'm not in the medical field, so this is just going off of what I've read and heard from people who are in med school), it's like this:

-At least in the United States, most people finish their undergraduate degree at 22 or 23. We'll assume that all of the fellows went straight into med school instead of taking a gap year

-Medical school takes four years. That puts the youngest graduates at 26-27.

-Post-graduation, new doctors usually do a one-year internship (putting us at 27-28 by the time that's complete).

-After that, doctors will go through residency (which is 2-7 years of specialized training). After residency comes fellowship. So, if we go with the shortest possible options, the absolute youngest any of the ducklings could be while applying for a fellowship with House is 29.

Anyways, these are my headcanon estimates for the fellows' ages, based on both how long basic med school takes (plus a hand wavy estimate for residency), and the appearance of the actors:

Out of Cameron, Chase, and Foreman, I hc Foreman as the oldest (getting hired in his mid-thirties), Cameron in the middle (hired in early thirties, and about a year older than Chase), and Chase as the youngest (hired at 29-30ish, because of that call from his dad-- and I subscribe to the call from Rowan being him telling House NOT to hire Chase, LOL)

The season four trio: I'd guess that Taub is somewhere in his early to mid forties. I'd put Kutner in his early thirties when he's hired (32-33). And for Thirteen, Olivia Wilde was 24 when she started filming House, so she really has a baby face. Because of that I hc that Thirteen's the baby of the group and that House's fellowship is the first one she applied for after her residency, putting her in my hc's at 29 when she's hired.

Amber, to me, is in her mid to late thirties. 36-37, maybe?

HOWEVER, if you go by how long each residency program takes in real life (which I do not when I write my headcanons and fics, because canon is whatever we want it to be + I love found family/parent-kid dynamics + also a lot of the actors were WAY younger than doctors would be in real life), my estimates would definitely not be 100% accurate.

Ok, I'm a writer who wishes to write. But has no idea what to write. (I have one thing in progress but I'm out of internal fs to give to write it right now)

Pretty much everyone, not the teachers or jamil/grimm.(if you ask for Jamil I will unapologetically do it poorly, sorry) won't do ortho as well, purely because of age. I can not garentee the quality of work if you ask for sebek as I don't know him well, and ace and rook, purely because I don't think I can write them well. But I'd give it a go

~Spell-Studies Fall 2020 Challenge~

I love making challenges, and I thought that having daily prompts would be the best way to help keep track of the days! I tried to pick fairly easy ones that way they are fun and lighthearted!

Here are the parameters of the challenge! The prompts will run Monday through Friday, so that weekends can be off days if you wish. 1. Did you like DW as a child?

Depends. What do you consider a child? I saw Doctor Who for the first time when I was 16 or 17. Does that count? Let’s say that it does. I did enjoy it.

2. Your age at the time of the revival?

3. First DW episode you ever saw?

An Unearthly Child. I wanted to watch it all in order! Still do! My first New Who episode was “Blink,” as forced upon me by @raisegrate. I did enjoy it.

4. Did you have any of the toys?

I didn’t at the time, but I do now. I have a couple of screwdrivers, a Fourth Doctor, an Ice Warrior, and not-quite-Legos of Doctors 1-11. (-WD)

5. Which DW character did you play on the playground?

N/A.

6. Monster(s) that scared you most as a child?

N/A. Nothing scares me.

7. Joke/story you didn’t get as a kid?

N/A. I get all jokes/stories.

8. DW opinion that has changed since you were a kid?

That the only way to watch it was from the very beginning. I eventually gave in and watched New Who before finishing Classic Who.

9. Who introduced you to DW?

Pretty sure I heard about it initially on a forum I went to called The Douglas Adams Continuum. That’s when I started watching the First Doctor. Again, @raisegrate showed me my first New Who. Eventually, I started watching New Who in its entirety with @catastrofries and they started watching Classic Who with me for @rassilonwatchathon.

10. Did you like Sarah Jane Adventures as a child?

Didn’t even know it existed as a child. But I liked it as an adult.

11. Who is your Doctor?

One. He’s the first I saw and I’ve went through some of his more than once, due to the podcast, so he has a special place in my heart.

12. Your favourite Doctor?

It varies depending on the day. I quite like Two, Eleven, and Twelve, though.

13. Least favourite Doctor?

Possibly 5 or 13? More because they don’t get a whole lot to do, than them being bad.

14. Best regeneration?

Technically speaking, there’s something about that first one that is still so good. Emotionally speaking, Two’s regeneration is terrifying and I quite like Twelve’s speech before regenerating.

15. Do you like “Doctor-Lite” episodes?

Yeah! They’re all pretty good! Even “Love and Monsters!” Yeah, I said it! (The end is bad, but the rest is good.)

16. Who is the most human Doctor?

One calls himself human a handful of times. Does that count? If not, definitely Five. He seems the most like a regular guy in a weird situation out of all of them.

17. Best multi-Doctor story?

The Day of the Doctor, for sure.

18. Best Doctor monologue?

Eleven’s speech to young Amy in “The Big Bang.” That episode is just solid all around.

19. What do you think TenToo/MetaCrisis Doctor is doing now?

He’s definitely fucked off somewhere and abandoned Rose. He runs a cat cafe that is definitely a front for something, but no one can quite figure out what.

One/Barbara, Two/Jamie, Three/Jo, Four/Leela, Five/Tegan, (haven’t seen enough of Six, any of Seven, and I honestly don’t remember the companion for Eight), Nine/Rose (that’s the only option!), Ten/Donna, Eleven/Amy-Rory, Twelve/Clara, Ruth/Thirteen.

I love them Fuzzy Chicken Nuggets. (The Yeti.)

OAK AND QUILL from “Fury From the Deep.” Fuck those guys.

The writing. You can do great things with most of them. Even the ones you dislike. Like, I hate the farting aliens, but they are occasionally used well.

58. Daleks, Cybermen or Weeping Angels?

If I had to pick, I’d say... Cybermen. Daleks are very samey and loud. Weeping Angels get less interesting every time they are used. But there’s a human element to the Cybermen that, when utilized, can be very effective and unsettling.

The one where Two rides around on ones he made nice.

60. Best one time villain/monster?

I don’t know what it is, but whatever it is in “Midnight.”

My sims 2 series turns 4 years old this month! 💙 Ive never really fully talked about The Rivers on here, so here's a fun little meet the siblings for anyone interested!

The series: Very loosely inspired by Grey's anatomy season 6 finale, The Rivers revolves around four siblings, whose lives turn upside down when their thought-to-be mentally recovered father shoots down the hospital he believes was responsible for the death of their mother 15 years ago. He then proceeds to claim his own life, leaving his four children to reep the consequences of his doing.

Tresor Rivers (28). A journalist. She has been raising her two younger siblings since she was just thirteen years old, when her mother passed away and her dad became a raging alcoholic. As a result she grew up to be strong, smart, and a litttttle bit (a lot) controlling. Still, they'd be absolutely lost without her. 💙

Jonah Rivers (33). A--nothing! Jk, a mechanic, but, like, barely. The eldest of The Rivers children, despite never acting like it. Fled home at the age of 18 with the dead of his mother, leaving his younger sister in charge of the family. He only comes back fifteen years later, with the news of his father. Oh, and he's a recovering (but struggling!) alcoholic. Still, he's cute, charming, and the much needed comic relief that the family (and the series) needs. 💙

Noah Rivers (23). A bartender! Perhaps the only middle child loved by his family (as a middle child myself, it hurts lmfaooooo). At just eight years old, he played a huge part in helping Tresor keep the family together. The glue of the family, he's sweet, patient and over protective when it comes to his sisters (emphasis on over). He also has CAD and severe panic attacks, but, like, it's fine (it's not, but it is).

Raign Rivers (18). A violinist! Raign was only 3 when she lost her mother to a car crash, and her father to alcoholism. That said, she had the best childhood out of all four (thanks to her brother and sister). Oregon Coast Camping: Free Or Nearly Free Spots

Just north of Bandon, Oregon, Bullards Beach State Park provides up RV camping by the ocean with scenic views of the historic Coquille River Lighthouse. Nestled among shore pines, guests can explore the Coquille River Lighthouse, the mouth of the river, and the shoreline. The park has 13 yurts and no tent websites, unfortunately, however does sport a horse camp with eight primitive websites. The close by city of Bandon, the "Cranberry Capitol of the World," has shops, galleries, and eating places available.

1. what is the color of your hairbrush? a very boring tan wood with black bristles

2. a food you never eat: coconut; i adore the smell and i’m okay with the flavor. the texture to me, though, is veryyyyy reminiscent of fingernails. not that i eat fingernails...

3. are you typically too warm or too cold? i would rather have icicles on my eyelashes than be anything close to sweating. so too warm, i guess?

4. what were you doing 45 minutes ago? picking up my mobile order @ starbucks

6. have you ever been to a professional sports game? yep! a great many new york mets games, the best of which was the world series game @ citi field on halloween of 2015. it was my first year teaching, and i said if my boys made it all the way that it would be a good omen for my career so getting tickets was definitely a must!

7. what is the last thing you said out loud? ‘ooooh nice’ - upon hearing ‘there’s no way’ on sirius xm on my way home
