🌀 and ☔️?
🌀:
Post the fic summary for a fic you haven’t written/published yet. It can be hypothetical or something you really plan on releasing…
Hmm, let's see. Normally, I'm constitutionally incapable of keeping my plans to myself. Oh! I don't know if I'll post this one, and I've only written a little of it, but it has a simple summary:
Eugenides dreams of Irene.
☔️:
Is there a fic concept you have that you’d like to just explain and share because you’re not sure you’ll ever write it? If so, what is it?
Once, I had the idea of writing a really long Númenor fic following some influential female characters throughout its history, both canon characters and OCs or quasi-OCs (i.e. characters who must exist but we know nothing about).
IIRC, the sweeping narrative was going to include Ithíriel, Elros's loremaster wife (OC); their canon daughter, Princess Tindómiel, and her establishment of the noble house at Eldalondë (in my headcanon); Tar-Telperiën and specifically my headcanon about the rescue of the Elves canonically happening during her reign; Princess Belzîrân (OC), the iron-willed older sister of Ar-Gimilzôr who was prepared to fight him for the throne and died in mysterious circumstances; Anárien of Eldalondë (OC), a politically active descendant of Tindómiel and contemporary of Inzilbêth who is among those deported to Rómenna; and Azruphel (OC), a late, initially pro-King's Men scholar who is increasingly horrified by her faction and ultimately defects to the Faithful.

Maiarin OCs
Still unnamed
Attendant to Ilmarë. Similarly to her lady, she does not like Elenna (at least initially), but still protects her and defends her.
She descended into Arda when it was first created and has been by Ilmarë's side ever since.
Fancast: María Valverde
Wilwarin (Wilya)
Maia serving Irmo and occasionally Nienna. She's had a major crush on Olórin ever since she met him. Although she's not the sharpest tool in the box, she's kind-hearted and mostly keeps to herself. Extremely naive and at times completely clueless, she's been nicknamed Wilya (airhead) by her fellow Maiar. She's obsessed with Olórin because he's actually the only one who has ever interacted with her
She entered Arda at the beginning of the Second Age, following the War of Wrath.
Fancast: Tuğba Melis Türk
Isilmë
Maya of Yavanna. Considered among the most beautiful Maiarin women to ever enter Arda, she has been obsessed with the Herald since she first saw him. They had a brief fling following the War of Wrath, which, needless to say, ended very quickly (and badly). She's firmly convinced he is still in love with her and will do anything to get him back. Her name is Quenya for moonlight.
She entered Arda following the War of Wrath around the same time as Wilwarin.
Fancast: Beste Kökdemir
Isilya
Maya of Yavanna. She's Isilmë's close friend (or so she believes). She fails to realize Isilmë doesn't really love her or value her friendship, but simply uses her for her own purposes. She blindly follows her "friend" and indistinctly agrees with the latter says or does (at least initially), as she's been brainwashed into thinking she's perfect. She does not seem, at least initially, to have a mind of her own, modeling her own behavior after that of her friend, as she's afraid to lose the connection they share. She's petty and very annoying, but not inherently evil (she has a conscience) and might redeem herself eventually. Fun fact: her name is Quenya for "third day of the week"
She entered Arda following the War of Wrath.
Fancast: Dilara Aksüyek
Erekilya
Maia of Tulkas, one of the few Maiarin women in the Valinórean army. She's one of the first Maiar to pledge allegiance to the Herald's new wife as she immediately becomes intrigued with her because of the whole "I punched Sauron in the face" situation.
She entered Arda before the ending of the First Age and participated in the War of Wrath.
Fancast: Gwendoline Christie
Mendelion
Lord Manwë's groom and cupbearer. He becomes Eönwë's main attendant after he marries Enna. He worships Olórin (and kind of simps for him as well. He'd love for a Bagginshield thing to happen, but Olórin really doesn't reciprocate the feeling). He is VERY clumsy and has a stutter. He also loves Elenna very much (platonically) and his ears become bright pink every time he talks to her (also, his stutter worsens by a lot every time he tries to talk to her. She basically has to finish his sentences)
He entered Arda after the War of Wrath, at the beginning of the Second Age.
Fancast: Colin Morgan
Anárien
Maia of Nessa who entered Arda at the beginning of the Third Age. She'll hover around Elenna primarily because she falls in love with Elboron and wants her to set them up. To all the ladies who have their eyes set on the heir of the House of Stewards: beware. She's not normally vicious but she can be. Especially when it comes to her blond-haired crush.
Fancast: Suki Waterhouse
Aeliniel
Originally a Maia of Vána, she eventually marries Eradan, son of Faramir and Finduilas. She's one of Enna's servants and she sets them up.
(More info to be added)
Fancast: Yael Grobglas
Handalimë
Originally a Maia of Vána, she is thoughtful, level-headed, smart and highly practical (albeit a bit ignorant about worldly things). She is Elenna's lady of the chamber and takes her duties VERY seriously. As a result, she is often bossy and can be also quite rude if she deems things are done improperly. She quickly grows fond of her new lady, becoming oneof her most trusted servants and her main confidante. In spite of her bossiness, she's usually calm and collected and makes it her mission to protect her lady from anyone who may wish her harm (predominantly her sister Isilmë and a few of the Noldorin elves). She constantly worries about Elenna and her lady's well-being is her utmost priority.
She entered Arda sometime before the end of the First Age.
Fancast: Gülcan Arslan
Nárael
Maia of Aulë and younger sister of Arien, she's spunky and crafty but also naive and shy. She loves making rings and necklaces and will be gifting many jewels to her new lady.
She can often be found chatting with Gimli. She's never actually seen a dwarf before and wants to know all about dwarf customs and traditions (for fairly obvious reasons, I'd say). Kind-hearted and wiser than she lets on, she loves sitting by fireplaces.
She entered Arda at the beginning of the Third Age.
Fancast: Sophie Turner
Aranwen
A Maia of Nessa, she loves dancing, nature and poetry. She's not a great conversationalist, but when she does speak, one had better stop and listen. She loves reading and will spend many hours discussing books and history with her lady. She enjoys needlework and she's quite a good painter as well. She respects Elena greatly and often reassures her. Even though they get on each other's nerves quite often, she's great friends with Naráel. She too will spend a bit of time with Gimli, but only to try and convince him that ripping down trees is inherently bad. Nevertheless, she grows fond of the lord of the Glittering Caves- she and Legolas will try and teach him how to dance. Whether they will succeed is still unknown.
She entered Arda at the beginning of the Third Age.
Fancast: Rose Williams
Elenya
Maia of Varda (the name is kind of a giveaway).
She's sweet, kind and very protective of Elenna. She often likes to remark how similar their names are and loves to recount stories that most have forgotten (star-related, of course)
She Ilmarë before she volunteered to join Elenna's household.
She entered Arda during the Years of the Trees.
Fancast: Yasemin Allen
Varonwë
Main general of the Maiarin Army. He has secret feelings for Handalimë (the interest is mutual, they just never really spoke about it). He admires Elenna and makes it known right away.
He entered Arda soon after it was created and fought in the War of Wrath alongside Eönwë'.
Fancast: Heath Ledger
Anaranwë
He entered Arda during the First Age and fought in the War of Wrath alongside the Herald.
Fancast: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau
Urinwë
Aranwen's older brother (? maybe I'll change it.)
He dismisses Elenna and cannot understand why the Herald married her. He has a temper and is the most rebellious out of the four generals. He will come around eventually and he'll become one of Elenna's staunchest supporters.
It is unknown when he entered Arda, but he fought in the War of Wrath.
Fancast: Stanley Weber
Erionwë
The youngest general. He has a platonic crush on Elenna and writes sonnets for her, encouraged by Aranwen. Many Maiar have platonic crushes on their new lady and he's just one of the many. He falls in love with Elarien.
He entered Arda after the Downfall of Numenor.
Fancast: William Moseley
-
Silnur
Eönwë and Elenna's ward. Having entered Arda at the beginning of the Fourth Age, he's the youngest Maia in Valinor. He's also Eönwë squire and page.
Faceclaim: Asa Butterfield (child). His adult version should be Jacob Dudman, but I'm not sure anymore (to be updated)
Mäirel
She loves playing with Enna's hair. She is just a bit of a bully to Silnur and baby Anárion.
Fancast: Georgie Henley
This (still unnamed) dude
Former attendant to Eönwë, now servant of Mairon (probably Mairon promised him random stuff and tricked him into his service). He slow poisons Eönwë every day for years. He'll have a repentant phase, but Mairon forces him to keep poisoning the Herald. Eönwë eventually forgives him (why are so you kind, my Bird-boy) and lets him go.
Moyeldë
Formerly named Carassëa.
Sauron/Mairon's main female servant (and concubine). She infiltrates Enna's household upon his command.
She entered Arda shortly after it was created.
Fancast: Meryem Uzerli
Néalassë
A Maia of Ulmo, he had a brief dalliance with Ilmare way back and he's still in love with her. He'll come to Middle-earth with his mind set on regaining his affections.
He entered Arda shortly after it was created
Fancast: Clive Standen
Eärenya
Elenna's head physician, formerly a Maia of Estë. (More info to be added)
Fancast: Ezgi Eyüboğlu

In my head fic they’re named 1. Ilmariel, then twin girls 2. Anárien and 3. Isilmë, then 4. Eldarion and his surprise twin final girl 5. Hírichil, meaning roughly a lady who comes after
It is slightly vexing that JRRT wrote only that Arwen and Aragorn had ‘daughters’; I like the open-endedness of it, the fact that one can give them two daughters, or three, or a whole garden of them, if one pleases; but you know that he knew precisely how many there were and what they were named, and simply never wrote it down.
I’ve been tossing up names for a wip and it seems impossible to use the Steward’s system of Sindarin First-Age female names - we know too much about their first bearers. Gilraen seems too close?
What I want is a name like Tinúviel, Tindómiel, Undómiel - part of that chain, for Aragorn’s eldest - but with a meaning closer to Tindómiel, that sense of beginning rather than end. There’s always the choice to just use Tindómiel over again, but then you lose that chain of reminiscent variations. Tindómérel? Tindómeriselde?
But I also feel one of their daughters should be Míriel, for Tar-Míriel, and for the Elessar pun, but if we’re going Numenorean Quenyan, shouldn’t they all be? Tindómiel, Míriel, Ancalimë (more in reference to Eärendil than the Numenorean Queen)? Vanimeldë (more after Arwen’s epithet vanimelda than the Queen; a near-match in meaning for Eldarion*)?
Silmarien?
Anyway: please, feel free to weigh in, to suggest alternatives, to refer me to fic that has named the daughters of Arwen?
*at least according to Parf Edhellen: “beautiful and beloved" (vanima + melda, with haplology), i.e. "movingly lovely", but also "elven-fair" (fair as an Elf) (vanima + elda).

1. Favorite character? 17. What are your thoughts on the original characters? Do you like them? (For example: Nori, Bronwyn, Adar) 22. Do you create fan-content for the show? Any headcanons?
For the Rings of Power themes asks <3
Thank you so much for the ask, Merry 🫶🏻
1. Favorite character?
I don't think this will be surprising at all, but – Elrond. He stole my heart right from the very beginning, and I haven't recovered since. Rob Aramayo is doing an amazing job portraying him!!! He captures Elrond's essence perfectly, plus, let's be honest, he really is as kind (and as hot 🥵) as summer
17. What are your thoughts on the original characters? Do you like them? (For example: Nori, Bronwyn, Adar)
YES! I love them so much 🫶🏻 I know many people dislike adding anything new to canon, but I think it makes the story feel more realistic. I mentioned earlier that I absolutely loved Nori, and that's still true, but Bronwyn also holds a special place in my heart, along with Arondir. I adored their relationship sooo much and how they could communicate so much just by looking into each other's eyes. I'm so sad we won't get to see more of her in the next seasons; I was really curious to see where her story would go 😭
22. Do you create fan-content for the show? Any headcanons?
I've written these little one-shots and have a huuuuge story planned out in my head that I just don't have the time to put into words 😭 It includes some events from Rings of Power along with my own ideas, and the protagonists are Elrond and one of my OCs, Anárien!
As the sun set, painting the sky in vivid pinks and oranges, Anárien returned with her harvest, her lap filled with peaches that almost melded with the rusty color of her dress. She sat beside Elrond, and he closed his eyes, savoring the tranquil moment against the cool grass. His teal blue robe lay folded beside them, leaving him in only his silver tunic. “Let us hope there will be more summers like this,” he said softly, reclining against the tree trunk. “Yes,” she responded, her gaze fixed on the eastern horizon. “Let us hope.”
A little sneak peak! 👀
(list of questions is here if anyone wants to ask me anything!)

I didn’t even realize that the ROP Twitter account was identifying the Númenórean characters’ posters and sharing the article as I was babbling about Elendil, but now I’m just
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
#eärien is a very nice name actually. good for her.#i am kind of amused bc when i wanted a female counterpart to anárion i also went with -ien instead of -iel#(both are valid thanks!)#so my headcanons have anárien#lady of eldalondë!#not sure if eärien is in addition to anárion or replacing him but... either way. cool name.#also visibly aging pharazôn: my crops are watered etc etc#i am sort of wondering if they've confused regent and regnant though. lol.#anghraine babbles#tv: lotr#legendarium blogging#númenórë

IDK how many in Tolkien fandom make OCs (not textual ghosts/characters we know little to nothing about, full OCs). But I’m ridiculously fond of mine, who are by wild coincidence all Númenóreans of some kind. My top five:
- Princess Belzîrân of Númenor: the proud, strong-willed firstborn of Ar-Sakalthôr. She refused to resign her claim to her brother Gimilzôr and was mysteriously found dead not long after. Gimilzôr was grieved in his way, but also deeply relieved.
- Anárien of Eldalondë: a descendant of the house established by Princess Tindómiel. In a reversal of the above, Anárien’s elder brother resigned his position of heir to her after the forced marriage of his beloved. Anárien was a stalwart Faithful partisan and marched across Númenor to Rómenna with the rest, but managed to smuggle priceless plants off the island.
- Azruphel: a scholar in the later days of Númenor and, for many years, a King’s Men partisan. As they escalated, she became disillusioned and secretly joined the Faithful, aiding them and eventually escaping with Faithful university friends and protégées to Middle-earth.
- Eärendur of Emyn Arnen: Anárien’s descendant and heir, though that meant little by his time. His family had passed themselves off as loyal King’s Men and Tar-Míriel managed to get him appointed to her service, under the Adûnaic version of his name. She ultimately sent him away to join the flight of the Faithful. He escaped with them, loyally served Isildur in the newfound Gondor and the Last Alliance, and was made Lord of Emyn Arnen by him.
- Glóredhel of Ithilien: the younger of Faramir and Éowyn’s daughters, a cheerful, good-natured woman who was married to Prince Eldarion. Their marriage, though arranged, was very happy, and they raised her scholarly nephew Barahir in their own household. She had a normal lifespan for the time in which she lived and died shortly before her father, well before Eldarion inherited the throne.
#i guess anárien and eärendur could teeeechnically be considered 'ghosts' but it'd be a stretch#but anyway ... i don't imagine many people are terribly interested but i felt like doing it anyway#legendarium blogging#anghraine's headcanons#anghraine babbles#belzîrân#anárien of eldalondë#azruphel#eärendur of emyn arnen#glóredhel of ithilien#númenórë#long post#i guess

This is making me wish buying a Lothlorien Elven Archer Armour Kit is as easy as getting a Star Wars's Stormtrooper ones!
Still want to be Haldir, or his Sister, Anárien in Elven Archer Armour!
I bring word from Elrond of Rivendell. An alliance once existed between elves and men. Long ago we fought and died together. We come to honor that allegiance.
