YOU ARE DOING THE LORD'S WORK.
anyways what's ur fav isopod?
Thank youuu, I try my best :]
It's really hard to decide on a fav one, I like all of the sillies
But if I absolutely had to, it'd probably be either
Armadillidium vulgare (very basic, I know, this one I actually found myself (<- very proud))
Or
Cerceis trispinosa (a very silly goober, I like cerceis isopods for the little spoilers they have at the end)
Or a more popular one
Armadillidium gestroi (with a very beautiful coloration)
Or a less well known one
Eurydice pulchra (literally meaning beautiful eurydice and I think it's very cool)
And I also love all trichorhina isopods, they're very silly.
Feel free to add your favourite ones as well :]

Alien Pose Prompts
I was thinking about how it can be difficult to figure out our own creatures' anatomies because there are no direct references to draw from, and how I tend to draw my aliens in the same poses, and boom, this happened. Prompts to practice and push the limits of your alien's anatomy :) Aimed at sophonts, but a lot of them can apply to non-sapient beasties too.

Did you draw this? I can't tell if it was done traditionally or digitally but I am enamoured with the texture. And it's just so cute look at it .
What art program do you use? And will you ever consider dropping the brushes that you used to make this ? 😊
Yes and yes! I made it on procreate, the brushes and textures I use and all that stuff can be found in my faq tag but for this piece I think I also went into procreates halftone effect thingy and applied it over parts of it. I also did liquify>crystals like I do with a lot of my other stuff to create an ink bleed effect

Today on CHUNK! FUNK! GUNK! We rate
the Giant Isopod (Bathynomus Giganteus):
1/10 Chunk
4/10 Funk
0-1/10 Gunk
Giant isopod!! These guys are almost all exoskeleton, so normally I would give them 0 chunk. However, they are round and kind of chunky and I am biased (*´-`) Giant isopods aren’t the most unique in their appearance. They look just like regular isopods. BUT, they are gigundamundus and for that, they earn moderate funk. And last but not least, I couldn’t find anything about them secreting slime or mucous so I’m left to assume that if they have any, it is very little to none. Low gunk.
Overall Rating: 9.5/10
I like bugs. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Really though, I love isopods!! When I learned that there was one that was around 16in (~41cm) I was so excited!! These guys are also important to me because my older sister ADORES them. She’s sketched out an entire pattern for a giant isopod plushie at least 7 times within the past 3 years.
I also really like when creatures at the bottom of the ocean get really big. Ocean Gigantification, I think it’s called? I think it’s funny. Lil bug become BEEG BUG!
Quick apology to the user that submitted this in April 2023, I’m sorry for making you wait so long–

OMG YOU'RE AN ISOPOD THERIAN?? LIKE ROLY POLY BUGS?? I LOVE THOSE
Erm.. ☝️🤓
Roly polys are indeed isopods but I am (sadly) not a roly poly. I am a giant isopod (yes that’s the common name).
I probably should have mentioned that. Thanks for the compliment!
Roly polys are basically my cousins so.
