Everyone should learn basic crochet or knitting, because there will come a point when you are elderly. And being able to create blankets and hats, little bits of art that you leave behind, not only bonds you to your family when you are gone, but it gives you a way to contribute when you can no longer wrangle the cows or harvest the garden.

And there may even come a point where you no longer remember who or where you are. But you know what you do remember? You remember how to crochet. I worked in a nursing home and there were so many women with dementia who did not remember that they could knit, but if you gave them needles and yarn, their hands would remember and it would surprise them.

And instead of those women fretting because they didn't know what was happening, they then lost themselves in the meditative flow of knitting by focusing their attention and immersing themselves in the present moment. Which of course alleviates stress and promotes mental well-being. So you don't even have to know how to create a sweater, just knitting or crocheting a simple square helps you.

Diy sticker tutorial. You're gonna need:

• Printer paper (aka 'normal' paper)

• Pencils/pens/something to draw with (or a printer)

• Scissors

• Self-adhesive vinyl sheet*

* if you don't have that you can use parchment paper and clear tape instead

1. Draw or print your design (go smaller scale, if it's too big the result will be wonkier)

2. Cut it (don't leave white edges)

3. Stick the 'good' side of the drawing to the sticky part of the sheet

4. Place it on the 'good' side of another vinyl sheet

an air bubble will be created around the paper

Optional: rub it with your fingers or something hard (like the handle of the scissors) to flatten it and make it stick better, it may lessen the air bubble

5. Cut the edges BUT leave enough space or it won't hold (you're gonna have to cut even further from the air bubble)

6. Congrats 🎉🎉 now you have stickers

*with clear tape and parchment paper

3*. Stick some of the tape to some parchment paper (put enough so that your design fits completely within the taped area and then some)

4*. Stick the 'good' side of the drawing to the sticky part of the tape

5*. Place it on top of this

6*. Cut the edges + leave space

I made these little silly puppets to give to Chili and Bandit’s voice actors since they were guesting at a local convention. I was able to hand them off and they were the sweetest people ever!

After making these puppets I’m dying to make more silly little guys!
