Day 18 - Theft

It's his death day! And so, the local grave digger is happy to oblige him with a small get-together to celebrate. It's the least she could do, after all, even if his only real wish is for a Dance with a pretty girl.

Featuring Ezra, my new character for Strange Aeons. She's a Duskwalker who was abandoned as a child and shunned her entire life, so she's a little bit less than perfectly adjusted.

ABOUT

Sleeptober is an art challenge inspired by Inktober, except all the prompts are Sleep Token themed, and meant to inspire Sleep Token fan art!

The prompts were made to give as much freedom of interpretation as possible, so you can go in any direction you like with your art; as long as it references and/or contains the prompt!

Most prompts are inspired by individual lyrics, so the artworks could reference the lyric/song they're form :D

I kept day 31 as a free day, so there you can draw whatever you want, or stop there and take a well-earned break!

GUIDELINES/ADIVCE

- Any form of art medium can be used

- The idea is that there is one prompt for (almost) each day of October, however there is NO PRESSURE to complete all 31 days! It's cool to skip days or even combine two prompts, also you can and should take breaks!

- If you plan on completing all 31 days, I highly recommend starting early (I definitely have lol)

Bahrain 2022

It was my first weekend on the track. Despite my brother’s success in Formula 3 last year, I had never had the time or money to travel with him, so this was pretty big for me. He was moved up to Formula 2 this year, so I knew that I wanted to be there to support him

I walked into the crowded garage, looking around to try and find my brother. I felt eyes on my back, so I turned around, trying to find who was looking at me. I made eye contact with a curly-haired brunette who was half hiding behind a wall. Once we made eye contact, he immediately ducked behind the wall, but I was already making my way over to him.

“Hi, can you help me find my brother, Dennis?” I asked after meeting him around the corner before he could go into one of the driver’s rooms.

“Oh, he’s already in the car,” the boy explained, the tension immediately leaving and replaced by slight remorse.

“Dang, the race doesn't start for another hour,” I sighed, “You really get in the cars that early?”

“Yeah, we have to get down to the track super early,” He explained before realizing he didn’t introduce himself. “I’m Ollie by the way.”

“Y/n.”

Silverstone 2022

“Ollie?” I shouted through the Prema garage after the F3 race. “If you don’t answer me, I’ll drink the smoothie that I bought for you!”

That’s all it took for Ollie to come running out of the driver’s room out of breath and half dressed. He smirked and he pointed an accusing finger at me before saying, “I got out of the shower, but I’m not ignoring you.”

“Good, you stunk,” I answered, not acknowledging his shirtless chest. “I didn't actually buy the smoothie yet cause I wanted to see if your debrief was over.”

Clearly, I wasn’t doing a good enough job because Ollie noticed immediately that I was distracted. “Hey, my eyes are up here.” My face immediately heated up, causing him to start laughing.

“Sorry,” I muttered, dropping my head as Ollie pulled on a random Prema polo.

“You’re fine,” He chuckled, placing his hand under my jaw to lift my head. "How about we go get food and smoothies before the F2 race? We can watch it in here while we eat.”

“That sounds an awful lot like you’re asking my sibling on a date, Ollie,” Dennis said as he came into the garage. All Dennis did was point a finger at Ollie as he grabbed his balaclava from the table, “I would lecture you but I’m gonna be late, so all I’m saying is don’t be stupid.” With that, Dennis took off toward the track.

“What just happened?”

Spa 2022

“Ollie, that drive was amazing!” I exclaimed as Ollie came into the Prema garage after collecting his second trophy of the weekend. “Two podiums on the same weekend! I’m so proud of you!”

Ollie suddenly grew shy under my praise as his face became red and he dropped his head with a small smile. “Thank you, Y/n/n.”

“Oh, are you suddenly an Ollie fan now?” Dennis joked, coming out of the driver's room to tease. “You didn’t even congratulate me when I won the championship!”

“You don’t need me to stroke your ego,” I laughed, hitting Dennis’ arm. “You win a lot. This weekend was his first win. Let me be happy for him. Plus, I’ve been an Ollie fan since Silverstone.”

“Just don’t make me hear it. I’m right next to your room,” He teased.

“Not that, Dennis!”

~~ Monza 2022

It was the end of the F3 season dinner before some of the team would be heading home for a few weeks. Ollie got second place in the sprint and feature, and all three Prema cars were in the top five for the feature race. Thus, the team decided a celebration was in order, especially since all three of their F3 drivers were moving up to F2 next season.

Ollie was very picky. It was common knowledge, so it wasn’t surprising when he ordered a basic spaghetti.

“It’s actually really good,” Ollie whined as a couple of the engineers ganged up on him for choosing something so simple when they’re in Italy. “Y/n/n, you try it. It’s completely different from London.”

“Well, of course, it is,” I laughed. “London is London and Italy is Italy. Italy is the land of the pasta for a reason.”

“Just try it,” He groaned, continuing to twirl his fork in the noodles. I signed in mock annoyance before leaning into Ollie’s side as I spun a bunch of noodles on my fork. We both put our forks in our mouths at the same time, and I noticed very quickly that one of our noodles was connected. Ollie seemed to pick it up around the same time, so we both turned our heads to look at each other. We were trying so hard not to laugh as the team started catching on to what we were going to do. We both leaned in, meeting in the middle of the noodle in a short kiss. The guys on the team were very split in their reactions; some were fake gagging and others were whistling.

We pulled apart after our brief display of affection, both of us smiling like crazy. I licked the remaining sauce off my lips with a smirk as Ollie and I just stared at each other, him expecting an answer.

“Spaghetti’s not that bad,” I laughed.

“Not that bad?” He questioned in disbelief. “Do we need to do that again? I think I could convince you.”

“I don’t think you’ll ever understand how proud I am of you,” I whispered as we were laying in our hotel bed after the feature race. We’d have to catch an early flight, so we just got some smoothies after dinner as a reward and had a movie playing in the background. Ollie laid his head on my chest as I played with his curls while the movie played on. “You made history this weekend, love. I am so incredibly proud of you.”

“If I wasn’t so tired, I would go on about how I wouldn’t be here without you,” he mumbled as he tightened his hold around my torso. “But I appreciate you. So much.”

“Well, you’re lucky I’ll always be here.”

“Oh no, you’re the lucky one,” He joked. “You get to say you’re with the guy who swept the weekend in F2. I don’t see them nicknaming a circuit after you.”

“Because Azer-bear-jan sounds better than Hauger-baijan. I don’t make the rules. I just enforce them.”

“We could debate this all night.”

Abu Dhabi 2023

“You’re forgetting something, Ollie,” I stretched out as Ollie was on his way out of his driver’s room just before the race. He was doing some stretches in his driver’s room to keep warmed up during the red flag due to the amount of debris on the track while I was reading until his engineer came in giving him the 10-minute warning. “You can’t forget it.”

“Oh, right,” he responded, immediately walking up to place a short kiss on my lips. “Happy?”

“I was talking about this,” I gestured to the helmet that still sat on the table behind me, “But that works too, I guess.”

“Oh, that would be helpful. I don’t know what I’d do without you,” he laughed, leaning over to grab the helmet. He started walking out the door but turned around at the last second to come kiss me. He leaned his forehead against mine, saying, “One more for good luck.” He placed one last kiss on my nose before being dragged out by Fred to race.

Bahrain 2024

I had a good feeling this year. It was going to be a good year for Ollie. The first race was off to a great start with Ollie finishing second in the sprint and first in the feature race after starting fifth.

“Ollie, this is your year,” I exclaimed as I walked into the Prema hospitality where Ollie was currently in the shower after his media duties.

“Um, knock?” He laughed as he stuck his head out of the shower to see me sitting on the ground against the door.

“I’m just saying, I got a feeling, baby,” I clarified.

“Any particular reason you felt the need to tell me while I’m in the shower?” He laughed at my antics.

“I couldn’t hold that back. That’s bad luck,” I quipped back. “Plus, I needed you to know now.”

“Glad to know you’ve got my back,” He chuckled as he went back to his shower.

“Always, love,” I responded quickly.

Qatar 2024

He just needed a top 5 finish. That’s all he needed, and he’ll be an F2 champion. Dino would need to win the race, and Ollie would need to place outside of the top five for Dino to challenge him for the title. However, that went out the window as soon as Ollie secured pole and Dino couldn’t start.

“Ollie, you did it!” I shouted through the headset as soon as he crossed the finish line in first place, “You are the F2 Champion!”

“All you, love,” he said back. “This is all for you, Y/n/n.”

“No, this all you. You did the hard work, Ollie,” I cried. “That was an incredible drive! Get in here!”

It didn’t take long for Ollie to pull around into parc ferme into his rightful place and jump out of his car. He stood on top of his car as everyone cheered for him before running and jumping into the sea of Prema. After the engineers gave him pats on the back and he shared a hug with his strategist, he turned his attention to me.

He slowly walked up to stand directly in front of me, allowing me to take his helmet and balaclava off. I could see the tears that filled his eyes, causing my eyes to water as well, as we just smiled at each other for a few seconds. It’s like there was no one else there. 

Just me and my champion.

would anyone like. a Throwback. and/or haiz lore depending on how long you've been following me

in the month of may in the year of 2017. i was 1) studying at a university and exams were coming up 2) obsessed with the ship Gregor Hartway/Zalvetta from ttrpg webseries 'thrilling intent'.

as you can imagine, the stress and excitement of it all eclipsed my sanity for a moment. it started out as drawing my ship as a nice, calming activity, as i was wont to do. but then i kept drawing them every day for several days in a row, so i joked about doing a gregorzal may challenge, in the vein of inktober and other monthly art challenges. i've never kept up with a monthly art challenge... except this one. for every day of the month i drew my boys. i would get up bright and early every day and draw the boys. i realise it's not particularly standout behaviour (lots of people complete monthly art challenges!), not even for me (i did like... 50??? art fight attacks last year??) - but i think very fondly of gregorzal may even to this day, and it greatly improved my skills at the time.

The Suptober 2022 Prompt List

That’s right, Suptober is back, baby!

For anyone who doesn't know, Suptober is a month-long Supernatural-themed creative challenge that I started five years ago on a whim and quickly took over our October activities for years to come. The prompt list is made by yours truly, and creative output is made by YOU. Think: inktober meets NaNoWriMo meets the SPN fandom. This means you can write, draw, edit, do photography--your choice. 

It’s an incredibly fun, creative block of time filled with overwhelming community support and a massive wall of new supernatural creations for all to consume. Participate, if you can. If you can’t, be sure to interact and reblog the creations of the people who do!

Going out on a limb, idk... What about Five nights At Freddy's (any of them) or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

I knew I could count on my mutuals to see right through me lol

I'm a FNAF fan alright. Along with Undertale, it's one of the games that pushed me to improve my English, as the French fandom was pretty much non-existent when the first few games released. It was the first time I'd been so involved in the lore of a game, and it later introduced me to the arg genre and other spooky indie games (tbh I'm too scared to play scary games myself, so focusing on the story is a good distraction. Even better if someone plays for me).

I've already done some fanarts of the main crew, Sun/Moon and some minor favorites for myself or for Inktober! Not nearly as much as for ut but it's safe to say that I'm deep in the fandom already. Love the fan songs too, I might have a playlist somewhere lol

My favorite might be Help Wanted 1 but I really liked Sister Location and Custom Night. Still some of my favorite lines of dialogue and staging.

As for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, not so much a fan but I remember the lyrics of the old opening songs very well for some reasons xD The gags too. It's that childhood cartoon I'd watch when I woke up too early and had to wait for my morning shows to start basically.

It was a bit too serious-looking for me when I was a kid, but I like the current aesthetic and I've had the opportunity to meet people who've worked on the new movies/series so that's a plus ^^

HELLAWEEN -What was the inspiration behind HELLAWEEN/How did it come to be?

In 2014 I had just graduated college and moved across the country for a storyboard internship at a film studio. I had a huge quarter life crisis when the environment clashed with me in every way, which left me questioning if I had made a massive career choice mistake. To help take the edge off I decided I needed to come up with some characters that were as self indulgent as possible. So I asked myself "What if there was Halloween level of a Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game?" and "What if My Chemical Romance wrote the soundtrack to Scooby Doo?" and thus, the main cast was born. Originally I didn't have any plans with them, I was just having fun drawing them for inktober and developing their personalities. Once the internship ended and I was able to set my career back in motion with some significantly better studio atmosphere fits for me in California, I started getting more serious about developing a linear story. I spent some time pitching different versions to tv studios and shorts programs. Got some great feedback but no real bites. Fortunately, I had a post blow up that caught the attention of my publisher who reached out to see if I was interested in doing a book instead and I LEAPED at the opportunity! HELLAWEEN is very much inspired by my own teenage years, growing up in the Bay Area, being surrounded by alt and skate cultures in the 2000's. As well as exploring identity, and growing up queer but the words for "how" didn't really exist yet. Plus a deep love for spooky cartoons and stylish anime, of course.

-What kind of music pairs the story/characters?

I’d mostly want them to be played by actual teenagers. But I have a couple in mind that I think could work—

Gwen I could see Valeria Rodriguez (Lagoona and Spectra on the current MH series) Miles maybe someone like Zeno Robinson (Hunter Owlhouse) Sloane I have no idea, but definitely a VO who’s non binary who can sound like a strong leader.

With Hiro and Bea it’s impossible to not hear Dante Basco and Grey Griffin in my head. The Jocks I would kill to cast any actor from Riverdale I could get my hands on. The rest I have no idea.

-What are the character's pronouns/orientations? Gwen- She/Her Miles- He/Him Sloane- They/Them Hiro- He/him Bea- She/Her Jarrahdale- She/Her Headless Horse Kid- He/Him Fritz- They/Them Whitney- She/Her Hazel- She/Her Kyle- He/Him Dom- He/Him Ester- She/Her In general I don't want to define their sexual orientations. I'm an aroace author and it's not something I'm interested in writing about. Ideally, I'd like to give the audience room to project themselves onto the characters. Don't get me wrong this book is QUEER and themes of identity are important, just don't expect any kissing in the canon story. Headcanons on the other hand, go nuts!!! The Jocks however, are all bi or pan. Can I get HELLAWEEN in ____ country/language?

Getting it published outside of the US is not out of the question, but at the moment I don't have any concrete info on that. I've heard folks have had good luck getting the book through their country's Amazon site or Bookshop.org Can I draw fanart/make my own playlists/write fanfiction/make a character?

Bit of a rant below

Anybody would like to hear about my horrible day yesterday and why I feel this drawing and prompt on a depper level :'D? Well too bad you clicked under the line x'D

Yesterday I had to travel home from my half a week in Berlin. Everything up to this point had went well and I had had an amazing time. I guess that is why the gods decided to throw me everything at once.

for some reason I got paranoid I would miss the bus so I was there two hours early. While waiting on said bus I started to get some very suspicious symptoms like cold shivers, dry cough, dizziness and a beginning headache. At this point however I just really wanted to get home

Well said bus was 30 minutes late and me already being on the verge of a breakdown thought about if it would be better for me to bail and take a train or flight home to Denmark instead (since we didn't know when the bus would arrive only that it didn't arrive on time).

Now in the bus my headache grew stronger and blinking turned directly painful. I didn't have a window seat so while trying to rest could've been great I never found a good position to do so.

When we arrived to the ferry we were told that most other busses and ferries were cancelled due to strong winds (which I guess is the one good thing about yesterday) which also meant that me with no balance due to said bad headache stumbled around like a drunken sailor trying t ofind a charger for my phone on deck.

Arriving to Denmark we then got taken in the control by the police wanting to check if we were doing any human trafficing. So all our baggage had to be thrown out on the road and then every person in the doubledecker bus had to have their passport checked. Fortunately this went sort of quickly.

Arriving to Copenhagen I knew I couldn't with a good concience ask myself to stick with my original plan which had been to wait 3-4 hours for a nightbus so instead I went with the first train to my city. In there I felt dizzy again so I had to sit on the floor to shorten the bloodstream to my limbs.

Now in my own city I went to buy some milk before the last stretch of transport home - for the first time this entire week it actually rained heavily and so I had to use my umbrella - it immediately turned upside down due to the strong wind.

After all of this I finally got home after 12+ hours of transport to learn that I had gotten my period.

Oh and today my suspicions were proved right: I am covid positive
