     ❛ and you must be the peridot i’ve heard ever so much about. ❜ blue gazes at the smaller gem critically ; as if she could sense every thought , every desire , every lie. her eyes hold no judgement , however , as peridots belonged to yellow and were hers to discipline ( and frankly , blue didn’t have the energy ). ❛ is it true you called yellow diamond a - what was it - a clod ? ❜

     ❛ i know what you’re going to say , yellow , so don’t bother. ❜ her voice faint from disuse , it nonetheless carries a sharp edge - annoyance apparent. hastily wiping at the tears that had been coursing their way down her cheeks , blue turns slowly to face her golden counterpart. ❛ what is it you want from me this time ? come to shame me for my sadness , to mock me for my mourning ? ❜
