For your amusement, I asked my kid sister to name the Dragon Age companions based on their pictures:
My sister was very excited to share what she thought everyone should be named. She has no clue what their actual names are or anything other than the pictures I showed her. Also we didn't do Awakening because honestly I kind of spaced.
Dragon Age Origins: Alistair: Beastro Zevran: Lathander Morrigan: Lelala Leliana: Mythina Oghren: Gimli Wynne: Bella Sten: Karcar Shale: Roxie
Dragon Age 2:
Aveline: Belladonna Isabela: Beth Anders: George Fenris: Baxon Merril: Sora Varric: Ogre (She says it's because he looks kind of like the human version of Shrek). Sebastian: Zorathin Bethany: Amy Carver: BRICK (I'm dead!)
Dragon Age Inquisition: (I also had her name Cullen and Josephine here) Cassandra: Scar Cole: Swizzle (I have no clue) Iron Bull: Corey Sera: Elfie (Yes, I thought it was ironic) Vivienne: Zacaiah Blackwall: Belto Dorian: Mustachio Solas: BALDY THE WHINEY ELF (I'm dead again!) Josephine: Zathora Cullen: Colstrin Dragon Age the Veilguard: Lucanis: Daggar Davrin: Darvin (She was accidentally SO close!) Bellara: Beeky Taash: Cassy Neve: Diamond Harding: Darla Emmerich: Caper

Note
Unpopular Opinion, but Merrill Doms and I am NOT joking. IDC, how badly Bioware tried to write that Isabela-corrupting-her spiel, I think she and Isabela trade notes if anything. Isabela and Merril co-conspirators in the Sex Grimoire Heist of Anders because they're SO SURE it exists (It does exist, just mentally)
Is my vision coming across?
I was already there, mon ami—I think Merrill has tied Hawke up blindfolded before. Huge powerful men TeeHee before her. Weird magic ritual sex at Merrill's house the first Thursday of every month. The swapping of "dirty spells" was a triple mage bonding event that had absolutely no clothes. Isabela was also there because she is not missing out on any of that. "Misdirection Hex" as a form of bondage. Anyways. Merrill fucks 💕💗💕💗💕💗✨🌟

495) The Inconvenient Duchess by Christine Merrill Compromised and wedded on the same day, Lady Amy Pond was fast finding married life not to her taste. A decaying manor and a secretive husband were hardly the stuff of girlish dreams. Yet every time she looked at dark, brooding the Sixth Doctor, Duke of Haughleigh, she felt inexplicably compelled - and determined - to make their marriage real!
I can imagine Six would indeed be in his most gothic of moods if he’d accidentally married Amy.

Norma Merrick Sklarekk (April 15, 1926 – February 6, 2012) a pioneer in the field of architecture, was the first registered African American woman architect in New York. In 1962 she became the first African American licensed architect in California. She became the only African American woman elected to the American Institute of Architecture College of Fellows. Her known projects are Terminal One at Los Angeles International Airport and the US Embassy building in Tokyo.
She was born in Harlem to Dr. Walter Ernest Merrick, a physician, and her mother, Amy Willoughby, a seamstress. She enrolled in Barnard College. She transferred to Columbia’s architecture school and graduated with a BS in Architecture. She went to work for the New York Department of Public Works. She passed the grueling four-day New York licensing exam, becoming one of the first African American women to be a licensed architect in the US.
She was offered a position with the prestigious architectural firm of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. She stayed there for five years, serving on the architecture faculty at New York City College. She was director of architecture at Gruen Associates, passing her California license. She married fellow Gruen architect Rolf Sklarek (1967-1984).
She became the first female African American member of the American Institute of Architects. She served on the architecture faculty at UCLA. She married Dr. Cornelius Welch, a physician (1985). She founded the firm of Siegel, Sklarek, and Diamond. She became a principal at Jerde Partnership, retiring in 1991.
In 2008 she received the AIA’s Whitney M. Young Jr. Award honoring her as a pioneer in the profession. Howard University awards an architectural scholarship in her name. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence #deltasigmatheta

In the mid-80s Chris and I were in a band called October. We made recordings and gigged frequently around the San Francisco Bay Area. Our friendship continued and I got to know Chris as one of the most kindest, patient, and saintliest man one could ever know. Check out his current work with the HardWest Project, a ministry to the homeless https://www.hardwestproject.org. Christ also has an amazing family (with his son Patrick in the band Gold Connections https://gold-connections.bandcamp.com ). I’m working on digitizing a trove of recordings featuring the talents of Chris in various capacities. Here’s a clip of us performing live with the band October (note Ron Davis’s rocket-fueled drumming)—a raucous New Wave-ish version of “One Planet One Utopia One Helmet” https://johnnyjblairsingeratlarge.bandcamp.com/track/one-planet-one-utopia-one-helmet-live-1986-remastered-2021
