Maya had always felt uneasy about the antique mirror in her bedroom. It had been a gift from her grandmother, who swore it was a family heirloom. Every night, Maya would glance at it briefly, trying to ignore the faint chill it sent down her spine.

One stormy night, as lightning lit up her room, she sat in front of the mirror brushing her hair. The sound of the wind howling outside was the only noise accompanying her. She wasn’t paying much attention—until something strange caught her eye.

Her reflection wasn’t moving.

Maya froze, her heart pounding in her chest. She raised her hand. The reflection stayed perfectly still. Then, slowly, it began to smile—a cold, unnatural grin that didn’t belong on her own face.

Fear gripped her. The hairbrush slipped from her fingers and clattered to the floor. Her reflection leaned closer to the glass, lips parting as if it wanted to speak. Then, in a voice that sent chills down her spine, it whispered: "You shouldn’t have looked at me for this long."

Maya scrambled back, her hands trembling as she reached for the door. But before she could move, the mirror began to crack—not with a shatter, but with a deep, splintering sound, as though something inside it was breaking free.

The last thing Maya saw was her reflection stepping out of the mirror, its grin widening as it reached for her.

The next morning, her parents found the mirror shattered into a thousand pieces—and Maya was nowhere to be found. All that remained was a single handprint on the glass, pressed from the inside.

The Stargate Project was a secret U.S. Army unit established in 1977 at Fort Meade, Maryland, by the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and SRI International (a California contractor) to investigate the potential for psychic phenomena in military and domestic intelligence applications. The project, and its precursors and sister projects, originally went by various code names – 'Gondola Wish', 'Stargate', 'Grill Flame', 'Center Lane', 'Project CF', 'Sun Streak', and 'Scanate'  – until 1991 when they were consolidated and rechristened as the "Stargate Project".

The Stargate Project's work primarily involved remote viewing, the purported ability to psychically "see" events, sites, or information from a great distance. The project was overseen until 1987 by Lt. Frederick Holmes "Skip" Atwater (born 1947), an aide and "psychic headhunter" to Maj. Gen. Albert Stubblebine, and later president of the Monroe Institute. The unit was small scale, comprising about 15 to 20 individuals, and was run out of "an old, leaky wooden barracks".

The Stargate Project was terminated and declassified in 1995 after a CIA report concluded that it was never useful in any intelligence operation. Information provided by the program was vague and included irrelevant and erroneous data, and there were suspicions of inter-judge reliability.

I might have to rewatch some Sorry Boys eps, because I think they’re way more coherent and connected than they let on?

I’m not even going to address how weird and arg like the hot dog website was.

But in the latest episode, the Zombie one.

It was established that Charlie from the zombie video and Charlie from the hot dog video are one in the same.

And when William (Wilbur) died, there was that map that appeared to show where everyone was, and it had a photo of him and Tommy, Wil’s was crossed out, but it wasn’t William.

It was Wilma, from the painting episode.

I’m probably digging way deep into this goofy stuff but it’s not unlike these guys to do connected stuff like this, and it’d be interesting. There could be more but I have to rewatch.

I see its shadow circling through the window shades. It passes the bedroom, then the kitchen, and finally the front door.

Heavy footfalls clunk in time on my back porch, and nails scrape along the outer cabin wall.

It's gurgling as it paces around tiredlessly. There's a weak cough, or did I imagine?

Soon the sun will rise and force it back down the hill and into the pond.

I've almost made it through another night.
