I decided to make a tiny version of the shawl I've been making for family and friends for my American Girl Doll. And then decided Josephina needed a photoshoot.

Lowkey surprised American Girl hasn't come out with a line of next generation dolls. Girls who had the original dolls are having kids of their own. Think how awesome it would be if their American Girl was too. Get new historical dolls as well as a twenty year update on your American Girl. Maybe a new book franchise for adults. Think of the bonding. The generational healing.

i have such a such a hate for reserve prices on ebay. I can't explain why. They made sense before cause didn't all bidding start at 0 and you couldn't change that. But now that's not the case. If you're unwilling to sell the item for less than, say, 40, you can start the bidding at 40.
I do get it to some extent cause you'll see all the time an item listed for 60 that will languish unsold and get reslisted over and over without them lowering the price or doing anything, certain they can sell it for that much because they'll see people list the same thing starting at 20 and the final bids will be well over 80. And they're comparably conditioned and all that. It's the whole start the prices low and you're more likely to get people bidding competitively thing.
But I think if you're going to use that tactic, you have to be ready for people to just... not... That should be the flipside. You don't want to list it for what you want to sell it for, then be ready to lose if you don't get that competition brained over spending. Or just list it for what you want to sell it for.
#this pointless stupid rant brought to you by moving makes me want to throw up right now#cause my head feels fuck awful#but also i saw a basic ass american girl doll with zero bids and starting price of 10#so i put in a max 25 bid for it#i ignored the 'buy now for 125' which is laughably overreaching you utter dipshit#this is a mid condition still in production truly me#fuck off#but i saw this seller has another that i could see selling for a lot more and i expect to increase last minute#currently sitting at 30 in bids#and they're a jess mold JLY that's retired#and any doll that isn't the classic of a josephina is wildly rare in uk second hand market place#and sells for stupid prices#but that 30 also hasn't met the reserve yet#the same asshole has somehow got a bidding war going on a beforever trash conditioned julie which is a really common doll in uk#second hand market like ym first doll was a trash conditioned julie that i turned into kasper

Being trans is actually a wonderful gift because I got to be a princess (0-5yrs old), weird girl child (6-12), a pretentious teenage girl (13-15), and later an angsty androgynous teen (16-17). And now I get to be a well rounded young man who knows a whole lot about American Girl Dolls.
#also i never watched any of ben shapiros youtube videos so SCORE#my two oldest brothers did. i was too busy being an Eldest Daughter so cant relate :/#also stan my girl Kit Kittredge#i saw her American Girl movie in theaters and she was my first American Girl Doll so i love her very much#(i also had josephina and a modified Samantha)#(those two were hand-me-downs from my aunt)#what was this post about#trans rights

Barbie had Asian dolls. I got to see my face and my family’s faces on a doll. Barbie was friends with a black Barbie and an Asian Barbie and there was a black ken and an Asian Ken. And it was so cool to have a Barbie and she looked like me.
We had Barbie and we had Asian Barbie and it was so exciting.
American girl dolls didn’t really have an Asian doll until my sister and I were considered too old for one. My doll was Josephina while my sister had a custom doll that still had European features.
It seems like something silly, but for a kid? My movie was mulan because she looked like me and I wanted to be her because I could. Barbie had an Asian Barbie and I had her doll. Even watching power rangers, Rita repulsa was my favorite, even more than the rangers, because Rita looked like my mom.
Representation is so important for a child even if they don’t know why.
Barbie (2023) dir. Greta Gerwig

I used to collect beanie babies. I had over 300. Now I have none. I would spend any chore money I got on a new beanie baby when I was younger and I loved them to death! I would go on adventures with them, my doll, and my wolf plush. I miss like all of them.
#the doll was an american girl doll that was a gift from a friend#she got it for because she felt bad that i didnt really have anything like it and she had three dolls#it was josephine? josephina? and she picked her out for because she thought we looked similiar
