We, the CKUT-fm family of Montreal and beyond, local wonderful record label Constellation Records, music scenes across Canada and around the globe have lost the realest of the real this week.

Joni Sadler was the kindest human and the coolest person I've ever known. She left us suddenly from a brain aneurysm that had the unjustness to go after one of the few truly brilliant minds in this country. The loss of Joni ripples wide, far and deep.

Absolutely, incredibly amazing! There are people out there in this world who go beyond the required. Switching trains to catch the bus, I became lost and extremely, extremely, extremely tight on time to be on schedule for my first day as an intern. For those that don’t know me- I’m terrible with directions but I’m sure I would have eventually found my way, except I would have 110% been late. I asked one bus driver who gave me a vague direction of the location of the bus stand but when you’re in a rush and stressed you don’t process things well. Now I want to thank the bus driver, or to give a better description of him- a selfless and kind person who went out of his way and took the empty bus while he was off duty to drop me exactly where I needed to be. He did not have to do this but I’m so, so, so grateful. I didn’t quite catch his name but his positive energy is out there in this world and to interact with someone like that is a blessing. She was born in 1961, and started her career as a kindergarten teacher. She married Prince Charles in 1981 and they had two sons—Prince William in 1982 and Prince Henry (Harry) in 1984. Their marriage, however, was an unhappy one, and they divorced officially in 1996. Diana became a global icon of popular culture and developed relationships with a number of entertainment personalities, including singers George Michael and Elton John. She was also admired because she used her fame to raise public awareness—and charitable funds—for issues that mattered to her. As a former teacher, she was a lifelong advocate for children and supported efforts to abolish the use of land mines. We saw @phiphiohara again on Sunday because @tattoosbygroovieman wanted to show his support. PhiPhi was amazing as ever. And recognized us out of cosplay, which touched my heart. But there are two shout-outs I think needs more attention in this case: First, his husband, this man worked so hard and tirelessly at his side in his booth never lost his smile for any of the fans (sweetest man I swear) and was the first to recognized us out of cosplay immediately (seriously, true signs of a cosplayer husband lol!) And second, his friend, the female assistant that helped us with the photos. If we can get her Instagram name I would love to credit her for this shot. Seriously, both times she was both patient and helpful. And without even being prompted, started snapping away to get those candid moments. Which isn't a memory a posed photo can give you.
