Kagutsuchi
Kagutsuchi (aka Hi-no-Kagutsuchi) is the Shinto god or kami of fire and is also known as Homusubi. The son of Izanami and Izanagi, the fire god is the father of eight warrior gods and eight mountain gods, amongst others. Such a destructive force as fire in a culture where buildings were typically made of wood and paper resulted in Kagutsuchi becoming an important object of Shinto ritual and a frequent receiver of appeasing offerings.
Genealogy & Offspring
According to the 8th-century CE Kojiki ('Record of Ancient Things') and Nikon Shoki ('Chronicle of Japan' and also known as the Nihongi), Kagutsuchi-no-kami, to give his full name, was born from Izanami, one of the Shinto creator gods, but such was his fierce heat that he killed his mother in the process. His father Izanagi was not best pleased with this result and so lopped off Kagutsuchi's head with his great sword, the Ame-no-o-habari-no-kami. From the blood which gushed out over the surrounding rocks and dripped from the sword's blade and hilt another eight gods were born, all of them powerful swordsmen kami. The two most important of these martial gods are Takemikazuchi-no-kami and Futsunushi-no-kami, with the former being also a thunder god and patron of the martial arts who famously subdued Namazu the giant catfish that lives beneath the earth and causes earthquakes by flipping his tail.
Two other gods born from Kagutsuchi's blood were Kuraokami-no-kami, who is mentioned in the Manyoshu poem anthology (compiled c. 759 CE) as being a dragon and rain god. Another is Amatsumikaboshi, the kami of Venus, the Evening Star. Her alternative name is Amenokagasewo.
After Kagutsuchi's decapitation the story continues and from just about every body part of the fire god, from his left foot to his genitals, eight more gods were born. These were mountain gods which represented different types of mountains such as forested ones, those with moors, those far away, those possessing iron, those which provided passes to adjoining valleys and, of course, volcanoes. The stories of Kagutsuchi which include the creation of iron and swords may well be a mythological explanation for the arrival of iron and superior metal goods via immigrants arriving in Japan from mainland Asia at the beginning of the Yayoi Period (c. 300 BCE or earlier to c. 250 CE), many of whom may well have been warriors.
In an alternative version, or rather an added segment, recorded in the 10th-century CE Engishiki, before she dies Izanami hides away and gives birth to three more gods: the water kami Mizuhame-no-mikoto, the clay princess, the gourd, and the water reed. All four are instructed by their dying mother to watch out for Kagutsuchi and, if necessary, act to pacify him if he ever gets out of hand. The traditional fire-fighting equipment of the ancient Japanese was water, carried in a gourd, to pour on the fire while water reeds and clay were often used to smother it. Even today in some parts of Japan, there is a midwinter ritual where reed bundles are placed in the eaves of roofs so that they are handy if a fire should break out.

How exactly did AmatsuMikaboshi became viewed as a primordial evil and what gods/buddhas does he have a connection to? How was he viewed as a god throughout the times? If you can share any interesting details about him in general it would be appreciated.
Sorry to disappoint you but there is nothing I can add beyond what I said here a few years ago.
The "primordial evil" claim goes back to a very dumb Marvel comic.

Also, introduction to 'Age of Gods', (God of) Ages and Amatsumikaboshi, God of Stars had me thinking that there was another arc with 'Gods' involved.
Even Towa had lost her body to Rion, but was revived by God Amatsumikaboshi's sword that was inspired from Kanna's mirror. When Riku revived, there were shooting stars in the background.
Everything was leading to something.
They got cancelled for pushing that creepy ship🤷♀
So they brought back Riku but not Kagura? Lmao.
Yup Riku is alive. Wasn't expecting it to happen right away though....
As expected, it is linked to Kon and Haku. The same thing me and @lazysummers have been talking about for a while.
Setsuna asks Towa how Riku is alive:
Then Towa explains to her:
We get the glimpse of the scene where Towa was resurrected using the sword of Amatsumikaboshi:
They showed this glowing horn and then Riku is alive:
So, Rion and Kirinmaru gave away their Kon and Haku to bring Riku back via an inanimate object “horn”.
Now I have been seeing Riku as a Kagura stand-in. Meaning if Riku can come back, so can Kagura via her inanimate object, fan.
Or she has actually transcended and become a deity.
But yeah, the creators are cowards, so they don’t even name-drop Kagura. 🤷♀️
It’s so evident that Rin is not the mother. Like they kept the distance between her and twins till the very end.
And just in case someone gets confused why I am linking Kagura with deity. I want to point out Riku’s current design is very similar to Goro from that Mayonaka episode. Goro(S2-E8/9) was half-human, half deity.
And if Riku a Kagura stand-in, can come back and has a connection to deity. Why can’t and won’t Kagura have connection to deities??

@amatsumikaboshi secret santa for @rosesnvines
I’m not sure if this is to your taste, but I hope you like it!
When they first returned, it was the death of a miracle.
“Wait, we have to go back, I—” Lucy was the first to speak, the first to get up and turn back towards the ancient wardrobe that stood among other antiquities in their great aunt’s attic. “Mrs. Beaver, she said that she—”
Lucy stumbled over her own two feet as she got up, not used to the small body she hadn’t felt in fifteen years. Her short hair fell over her shoulders and in front of her face freely, and she desperately brushed it away, hoping it would stay draped behind her as it did when she was queen.
When she was queen.
Susan stared at her sister, taking in her tiny stature, short hair, and rounded baby face. She then looked at her two brothers. She saw what she thought were mere memories of them, the children she had known years prior to their rule in Narnia.
“Ed.”
Edmund gazed down at his hands with furrowed brows. He didn’t seem to hear his brother and was only shaken out of his stupor with a vigorous nudge from Peter. “Ed!”
The third Pevensie shut his eyes, scared to look over at his brother now more than ever. What had happened? One moment, he had just been riding through the forest with his siblings, and the next, he was back in his great aunt’s attic from fifteen years earlier. He didn’t want to acknowledge the situation. Perhaps if he kept his eyes shut, he’d open them to see that it had just been a silly dream. He’d be back at Cair Paravel, as Edmund the Just, King of Narnia, ruling alongside his brother and sisters.
Peter was the only one who had tried to reach out to his siblings. When Edmund didn’t seem to respond to his calling, he tried Susan and Lucy next. Yet Susan only continued to stare after their sister, and Lucy continued to deny the fact that she couldn’t find a way through the back of the wardrobe.
They all wished and wished, but it never went away. Even when Edmund and Peter finally got themselves to their feet to look for an opening in the wardrobe, even when Susan sat holding and comforting Lucy as she broke down in tears, they were back fifteen years in their lives.
“My goodness, children, what are you doing up here?”
After their aunt had found them sitting together among the unsettled dust and artifacts, they were sent downstairs to mingle with their relatives. It was the usual family reunion: adults observing niceties, kids sent to play amongst themselves but ending up on their tablets and phones, the occasional squabbles here and there that just added to the tension that had built up from previous reunions.
People knew the Pevensies. They knew them, would say hello to them, but would never stick around for a conversation to unfold. They knew the Pevensies loved to gossip and debate more than anything, even with people they barely knew, but with fellow Pevensies, all sorts of hell would break out. It was like tossing a piece of meat between two starving dogs. Things would never get physical though, no. They were far too civilized in this day and age for that. It would always start with little remarks here and there, bits and pieces all fueled by jealousy and needs for rivalry within the family. Then there would be more observations, more comments on more unnecessary topics, and full altercations of words would break out.
And all the while, the children would sit by on their little gadgets and wonder when they would be able to go home.
The four Pevensie siblings mentioned earlier never liked the family reunions, just like the rest of their relatives. After all, it was never something that anyone in the family except their great aunt Millie desired, but when great aunt Millie wanted something, she was going to get it. And this particular reunion was just about up there on the list of the worst family reunions ever.
After all, just moments before, they were fifteen years older, and they were kings and queens of a kingdom that was every single bit of the life they had wanted to live.
“Mum, Dad, when can we go home?”
The second time they returned, the acceptance of reality was quicker than the first. But that didn’t help ease the heartache that came with. Because this time, Peter and Susan knew. They wouldn’t be returning to their kingdom anytime soon.
Fate wasn’t as merciful to them as before, for their train pulled in just moments after, and they were left scrambling for their backpacks. All four of them made it onto the car, and as they mulled over what had happened, they found themselves forcing smiles and cheery greetings as familiar faces of classmates and former neighbors came and gone. They knew to not make a scene since the last time they did, their father had reprimanded them for burying themselves in useless media instead of focusing on their studies.
But the dams broke, and once they were home from school, they locked themselves in the boys’ room and sat together on the floor just as they had done before. Susan had her head on her older brother’s shoulder, and Lucy was doing the same with Edmund, and while the boys would most likely deny their tears, the girls would say different.
Lucy cried for her dear little friends; who knew if she would be able to see them again at all? By the next time she returned to Narnia, anytime from a year to a millennium could have passed, and she would be thrust into a strange yet somewhat familiar world with strange yet somewhat familiar people. And what would she do without Peter and Susan? How would she and Edmund be able to help Narnia without them?
Edmund cried for their loss at the castle raid, for foolishly leading Narnian troops alongside his brother in a reckless attempt at showing that they were kings and that their rightful places as Sons of Adam would not be taken from them. Still, here they were, back in their world and timeline, back where the stars were drowned out by man-made travesties, acrid stenches constantly filled the air, and people had their lives glued to digital worlds. The throne of Narnia now belonged to a different Son of Adam.
Susan sobbed herself dry while clutching her brother’s shoulder to cry on. Yes, she was sad about leaving Narnia for good, she was sad about not being able to see Aslan anymore, but more than anything else, she repeated between her hiccups, “I liked him, I really did.”
Peter wept, but he hid his tears because he was the oldest, and he knew he had to comfort his sister. He was no longer reigning as Peter the Magnificent, Lord of Cair Paravel, but he was still Peter Pevensie, the eldest of four siblings, and he knew he still had a duty to them. So he tried to selflessly cast aside his own feelings and be the older brother he knew they needed him to be. He held Susan tight, murmured some comforting words, and stroked her head. He tried, and although he didn’t think so, it was enough.
And the three younger Pevensies knew that out of the four of them, Peter, who had tried his hardest in proving himself as a man and as a king, was hurting the most.
This time, it was their father who discovered them, and he wasn’t pleased when he did so.
“What is this?”
The Pevensie children never had a moment in their lives when they thought of their father as a benevolent figure. He was a very stern man: always had creases between his brows and never seemed to smile no matter what happened. This was all very understandable. As a military man, he had been on three tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, and each time, he returned more and more like a commander than a father. He made sure that both his boys were in tip-top condition, both physically and mentally, and his daughters were no exception. He had made it clear to them that every day after returning from school, they were to do their exercises and come straight in to start their studies.
But here they were, inexplicably crying amongst themselves like they had done a year ago at that dreadful reunion.
He barked orders, snapped at them, threatened to ground them for the rest of the month, but they just stared back with teary eyes and looks that weren’t unlike the ones he saw in the eyes of grieving soldiers.
Meanwhile, the children knew they were in trouble. Their father had accused them of getting lost in their wild and untamed imaginations the first time, and they knew that their tears were not going to be tolerated in his presence. But they couldn’t get over their grief as immediately as their father would have liked them to. So while Lucy, Edmund, and Susan tried their best in holding back their sniffles, Peter took the role of eldest brother once more.
“Dad, I can explain. It’s just that—”
A swift movement of their father’s arm cut him off, and years of conditioning made all four of them flinch and shut their eyes. But what came next was far different from what they expected.
Their father simply waved away Peter’s effort at making an excuse; perhaps this one instance of seeing his children cry made the father side of him surface for just a moment, or he was all too used to seeing the looks of grief in people’s eyes. Whatever the reason, Lieutenant Pevensie left his children alone to shed tears in peace but not without a small directive.
“Make sure to keep up with your studies. And Peter, Susan, your mother and I have something to discuss with you at dinner.”
The third and final time was so unlike the other times for several reasons.
One: Peter and Susan were enroute to America and hadn’t come with them.
Two: their cousin Eustace Scrubb became the first non-Pevensie to come to Narnia with them.
And three: they were strangely at peace with the result.
As the water drained out of Eustace’s room, leaving them and everything around them strangely perfectly dry, they sat silently for a long while, taking in all that happened. There were no tears this time, no grief, no regrets. They understood the purpose of their moments in Narnia, and they would make sure to remember their lessons for the rest of their lives.
“I’m sorry.”
Eustace was the first to speak, and his nasty little temperament from before they left was replaced with a softness that surprised everyone who saw him later. He felt guilty about being the only one who could return to Narnia now, and after seeing what the magical world was made of, he could see how anyone would want to spend the rest of their days talking about their adventures in that land. If he were to be truthful, he was scared of returning without his cousins, but he would address that later.
Edmund only nodded slightly and smiled reassuringly at his cousin. Yes, he had wanted to prove himself as High King in the absence of Peter, but he didn’t let bitterness overtake him. He now realized and accepted that he wasn’t entitled to the land of Narnia. It belonged to him and his siblings as much as it did to Caspian and Eustace. There would be many more Sons of Adam after him.
Lucy shook her head and held Eustace’s hand. She was glad he had been able to experience Narnia just as she and her siblings had, and she was excited that he would be returning as well. She then sent text after text to both Peter and Susan about their latest escapade despite knowing that they were on a plane above the Atlantic at that moment.
And they sat in silence for a few moments longer before they were called downstairs for dinner.
They spoke of Narnia fondly for the few months that followed until Edmund and Lucy’s departure for America. Every chance they got to the three of them, they would sit together and recount the events of their expedition on the Dawn Treader: the islands, the mist, the final fight. They would laugh and cry, tease and embarrass, and they would share memories that no one else in the world could share with them.
When it came time for the two Pevensies to join the rest of their family across the ocean, Eustace wept, because he knew that he would miss them with all his heart. And he did, just like how all Narnians missed them when he returned.
Thus, the Golden Age of Narnia ended, Telmarines and Narnians made peace, and the Dawn Treader sailed its last voyage. The Kings and Queens of old continued living out their lives in their world and never saw another glimpse of their beloved Narnia—at least, not until the very last battle.

New Year’s Cards
I DON’T HAVE A LOT OF HEROES but i’m a damn mother to my babies so here’s the responses to the cards i gave some of my favourites
(ps. the shinobi are all idiots what even is this)
This is for me? …My apologies, I’m grateful. Everyday, Master is taking care of me. If there’s anything you want, tell me clearly. …I won’t choose. It’s pointless to expect me to. Master should decide.
From Yamatotakeru
You’re gonna give me something this good? Thanks, Milord/Milady. I’ll treasure it. Hey… Is this maybe, in the spirit of getting a favour? …I’m okay with that. This is a one-time special, so what’s your wish? C’mon, hurry and tell me.
From Momotarou
To give a shinobi something like this, the Chief must be drunk. …Hey, why are you withdrawing? You prepared this especially for me? I guess it can’t be helped… I’ll accept it. …………Thank you.
From Jiraiya
To receive something so wonderful, I’m incredibly grateful…! Whether I should call this a good gift, I’m not really sure… From now on, I swear to respond to Master’s thoughts without fail.
From Takemikazuchi
This kind of thing is unnecessary for shinobi… I suppose you put some thought into it. In any case, I suppose I should be happy. So much is affected by the Chief’s every action. I would like to formally state my gratitude. — Thank you. From now on, I will continue to serve the Chief.
From Sarutobi Sasuke
Why would you give this to me — ...Hm? Why, what’s with the long face. ......No, I'm not saying I don’t need it. You didn’t have to force yourself. ...Just now, I just said something rude. ...My Lord/Lady, I’m grateful for your thoughtfulness.
From Momochi Tanba
Master! It’s alright for me to receive this great thing right...? Thank you... I’m super happy! I want to thank you somehow... Oh yeah, let’s go to a festival together again! I’ll make Master happy.
From Ninigi
This is, for me...? No, I’m not saying I don’t need it. I was just a little surprised. For you to prepare something like this for me, I was suspecting there was something... No, I was thinking too much. I will accept Boss’ favour with appreciation. I’m grateful.
From Amatsumikaboshi
Master, whatever could this be? ...Could it possibly be for me? ...Is that so, then thank you. This must’ve been difficult to get. That Master didn’t mind that hardship, just to be thoughtful, I’m blessed indeed.
From Daikokuten
This is a fine item. ...But Milord/Milady, what do I do with this? ...What? This is a gift for me? ...For specially preparing this, thank you for your thoughtfulness. Then, I too will give Milord/Milady something special as thanks. I hope you’ll be happy with it.

It's over. What's your thoughts?
Ngl, I am disappointed because my main drive behind the flip was to not have Rin as bio mom at the end of everything.
That being said, I still believe that Rin is not the mother based on what I have seen so far.
And let's say that she is the mom for any ungodly reason, even with that this show isn't complete. They have left a LOT of things go unanswered.
To name a few -
1) The purple dream butterfly - It has been promoted in merch, in OP and ED, has been in the relationship chart since the beginning. Was hinted to have an important role. Vanished over Setsuna before Setsuna died. Didn't appear in the 2nd season but was still around in the posters. The butterfly was never explained.
2) Red streaks of hair - which don't go away during human night.
3) Twins eye color - yeah no, I don't buy it is from Sesshomaru's mark.
4) Twins non dog demon powers
5) Zero's pearls - Why did Sesshomaru know about Zero's pearls and why did he put them in his new borns' eyes? What purpose did it serve?
8) Akruru, Windmill of Time, Amatsumikaboshi
and so on... I am not gonna write up the whole thing. There's a LOT more that had to be addressed.
Which only means that this was not supposed to be the end. They had more story to work on, but got cancelled for whatever reason. I am not sure when they would have decided to cancel the next season. This season continued to push Rin and twins apart so this last episode feels weird.
Not to mention, again, it's only Sesshomaru's family who gets no family scene, while InuKagMoro family is all warm and loving.
Yeah, this is the only scene in today's episode where you can see Sesshomaru's family all together in one frame. Jaken in between Rin and Sesshomaru makes it extra funny.
And what do you know, haku and kon can resurrect people.🙄

Kagutsuchi

Multiple questions here for the last episode: First, How did Kirinmaru, Towa and Moroha end up in the Meido? Secondly, do you think that Inuyasha, between Final Act and Yashahime, has mastered his own demon blood to access to the crazy Susanno-esque forms that his daughter and niece used? Finally, what do you suppose Towa's new sword is all about? Do you think that Totosai forged it?
First, we have to ask ourselves. “Is it a Meidou?”
Because the Meidou usually didn’t have big planets like that.
We also see Byakuya do something similar with his magic gourd, In the manga, the scene just shifts to the dimension after Byakuya uses the Gourd. But in the anime he could summon a moon and send them to another realm.
I mean, it could also have something to do with Taishou's gravesite.
InuYasha The Final Act Episode 15, Dragon Scaled Tessaiga was used to cut into demonic vortex. Towa has a similar ability. When Tessaiga and Tenseiga were trying to merge to become one that was said to be the only way to get out of a Meidou before InuYasha got Black Tessaiga, was to cut into his own Demonic Vortex which could lead to death.
Kirinmaru was surprised.
Meidou Zangetsuha opens a pathway into hell, not outer space. It does look like space, but it isn’t.
The space-like battle may have been more of a realm or area that was created by the convergence of their demonic energy. Evidence of this, is when Moroha leaves her Beniyasha form the area disappears as well.
It’s like a demonic vortex colliding. It’s so much energy it displaces the air and becomes it’s own realm.
- In the Final Act, Inu-Yasha begins to figure out how to control the Great Dog Demon blood. As of right now I don't know if his would appear as a spirit form behind him. Unless they were to implement that idea for future episodes. Because he has been able to control it later on in the series.
- As of Yashahime the Second Act this never happened.
- Towa's new sword in the promo picture is a Chinese Style sword much like Kirinmaru's. It might be the Yukari no Tachikiri which means to "cut ties with" or "severe the tie". Which might be used to seperate Rin from Zero, or Setsuna from the Dream Butterfly. That's just speculation at the moment from what we are given.
- Towa's Sword is the Zanseiken was one of the two swords that came from the God of Stars, Amatsumikaboshi.

hey! taisho anon here to ask about amatsumikaboshi. i know that hes the star god and not actually an evil god, but didnt he rebel against futsunushi and takemikazuchi (?) one time? i know hes not actually evil (or is he...?) but theres so little information on him that isnt about him in marvel :/
Gosh, shit, ahhhh, I’m sorry I forgot about your asks.
You sent another one asking about the past 100 years of history affecting East Asia and... I’m not equipped to answer such a question. That’s a subject best left for a book written by an expert. I took a college class on modern Japanese history but I don’t have any relevant books; must have been a handout class because I would have never sold any Japan-related books. So I can’t offer any recommendations! Use Wikipedia as a reference (for, say, Empire of Japan) and take note of the sources used, look them up on Amazon and read reviews and go from there.
On to Mikaboshi, we were just talking about this not too long ago! Aleph’s Heretical Domain compiled known information about him: https://mythoughtsbornfromfire.wordpress.com/2020/11/25/mythological-spotlight-13-amatsu-mikaboshi-a-k-a-kagaseo/

I also think the God story has a connection to Kagura. Similarly, I think Riku's resurrection is connected to Kagura's resurrection.
They spent quite some time expanding on the Mayonaka(deity) episode, which I believe carries a parallel for a few characters. Also, they brought the Amatsumikaboshi(Star God) sword at the second last episode. So, it should hold some importance.
If a God is involved, it would explain why Sesshomaru is so quiet and trying to get specific outcomes out of events. Like helping Zero, Rion and Kirinmaru pass away with no regrets.
Which brings the question if Kirinmaru had regrets over Rion's death, wouldn't Sesshomaru also carry regret for someone's death? We even get to see Zero's regret getting resolved, she regretted that she couldn’t save Toga. So Sesshomaru, who walked a similar path to Kirinmaru, should also be having regret about someone’s death? 👀
Ritowa could be similar to sesskagu because Its between dog demon and incarnation but the basics is similar to another ship in Star Wars which is reylo . Both of them is about a girl kindness changing a man heart from the enemy side . The man on a redemption path because of her . Even the death scene of Riku. Both men died the same way . Actually the death scene is similar shot by shot like a copy . Though characters like Kylo and Riku usually die as redemption. Reylo ended with tragic . Ritowa had the same tragic death but Riku returned. I think there might be a reylo in sunrise and wanted to do what they wanted reylo ends with Ritowa . There’re other similar aspects between the two ships
I have no idea about Reylo, but if Sunrise copied the death scene shot by shot, then, it's really shameful that the writers have zero creativity.
Oh, and don't get me wrong Anon, I think personality vise everyone (Sesshomaru, Towa, Kagura, Riku) is different. So, if we were to gauge SessKagu and RiTowa under a microscope, they are different.
Keeping my thoughts under the cut ^^! It's a long wall of text and just my thoughts and rant, sorta.
