Eheheh! The anon who sent the ask on the Lights, Camera, Sing Your Sins here! Happy to hear you like the silly thought I made up, bonus on making a small drabble on it! So happy! >w<
So I guess when Mikoto's condition is revealed during his first interrogation, everyone's like "Ooooooh that's why..." over it. And uuuuuuh, does Kotoko feel bad for bashing Mikoto back then? I think it's not scripted according to that post you made back then, but no hard feelings between them, right? And I guess Shidou wouldn't be happy that the prisoners are getting into actual fights ;;
I really did! :D Thank you so much for reaching out, I love hearing people’s thoughts and ideas!!
I'm always very committed to keeping any canon hatred accurate -- I won't sugar-coat a relationship that has been stated to be terrible. However. This is not canon, and I am employing every fix-it in my arsenal >:3 So yes, there are absolutely no hard feelings between them and after every trial they hang out and make up!!
It pains me that all the violence in Mikoto’s interrogation has to be real, but yeah, neither of them pull any punches. Of course Red doesn’t want to hurt Es, but I picture all the prisoners really driven by the desire to tell their stories. Unlike in canon, the au characters are very aware that they’re going to represent a larger social issue/group of people. So when Mikoto is instructed to really sell it, he does it for the sake of accurate experiment results for others like him – and clings to the trust that Es signed up for this.
And Kotoko’s interference is such a core part of her character: she’s observant, she’s clever, she’s used to and skilled at breaking rules, and she’s such a protector, even to the person who’s holding her imprisoned. It felt unfair to take that away from her by making it something Milgram scripted, so her reaction had to be real and just as violent ;-;
Okay so you know when you’re playing a game with friends/family and you feel very real anger at them for their decisions/actions? Then after it ends you can cool off and acknowledge it was just a game and there’s no hard feelings at all – but you can still clearly remember what made you upset and know it was valid? That’s what I'm picturing when the prisoners write their t2 plans. Kotoko’s anger towards the guilty prisoners is genuine by the end of the first trial. She’s very hurt that Mikoto wouldn’t tell them the truth about himself, after all the secrets they’d collectively shared. She’s disgusted by the others’ actions. She’s not actually planning on beating them up, but she recognizes she kinda wants to lol. Amane does hate Shidou. Yuno is tired of everyone.
But a few days after the first trial ends, they start interacting in a setting that isn’t immersive anymore. They’re able to relax and talk through everything with clear minds. Kotoko apologizes profusely for hurting Mikoto during the interrogation, admitting that she’s not entitled to anyone else’s secrets. Amane apologizes to Shidou. She may not be as friendly to him as he was hoping, but she tells him that she understands they live under different codes and she shouldn’t hold hatred in her heart. Yuno gets a bit of time to refresh herself while they’re debriefing and collaborating with the writing team. She’s excited to be around the others by the time filming starts up again. Anyone who has anger towards Es lets it soften, feeling bad that they’re allowed to get a fun break while Es must remain asleep.
And I think Red and Kotoko would actually get really close in the au, despite their rocky start! They have very similar ideas on protecting the people they care about and being disgusted by those who abuse their power. Koto-koto duo is real!! 😤I can’t say for sure because so much could change in t3, but I’m hoping to write the two of them bonding over being labeled “the scary violent one” and slammed with a guilty vote next time ;-;
If anything, Blue is more upset that she attacked Red than he is himself. (“That was our interrogation, what was she even doing there?”) And like you said, Shidou doesn’t want anyone to get hurt for real, so he pleads with them to keep their violence as staged as possible, going forward. He’s also extremely upset with Milgram that they’d let Es get hurt (since he’s the one who treated them afterwards). It takes such long time to assure him it won’t happen again, and that it was a one-time twist that Es signed off on beforehand.
Although I think the violence is going to get worse during this next hiatus, the au characters will actually feel less emotional, in my mind. After doing this for so long, I'm sure it would get easier to regulate which emotions are real and which result from too much immersion -- so there will be less to apologize and make up for this time, they're already very close and happy :')
#milgram#mikoto kayano#kotoko yuzuhira#thank you again for the ask!! these are such good thoughts oughh#asdfsd although im sorry if this is more than you bargained for - you unlocked my behind-the-fic brain 😅😅😅#ill always go for a sympathetic/bittersweet twist on hateful relationships while trying to keep them accurate#but in this au all of that is out the window and everyone is best best friends with each other!!!! ;---;#im finally getting the kotoko-fuuta and kotoko-mikoto friendships i really wanted from canon#amane accepts the others as a loving family#and no matter what the final verdicts are - everyone forgives and loves es#;----;#im so glad people are enjoying the au because im having a blast thinking about it waah#ask#lights camera sing your sins

It's sad to me that if the Milgram cases were Real with ALL the character traits/situational factors being the Same and we analyzed the people the same way we do the characters, we'd all be mocked and degraded for humanizing these "muderers" (except MAYBE Shidou and Yuno but that's not even beginning to touch the other end of the spectrum; some of the patronizing the fans do of characters reflect their real-life sense of "pity" etc.)
Like obviously people are gonna be wary about actions that lead to Death but tbh ALL THESE MURDERS WERE PREVENTABLE WITH BETTER SOCIETAL STRUCTURES
this wasn't supposed to be a long post but fuck it
Haruka needed a caretaker and a care team who understood his emotional and physical needs; he was neglected and compared instead, left to cope with intensely painful emotions alone.
Yuno is highly isolated and seeks feelings of warmth and closeness in quick gratification, because giving your heart to someone else in a selfish world is dangerous; she needed honesty and realness, and also an economy that doesn't make men's objectification of her an ideal career choice.
Fuuta is also highly isolated and has extremely punitive views; his "community" was built on vitriol instead of good faith.
Muu is a neglected teen who lashed out as a result of the social structures she and her friends perpetuated; a culture of perfectionism and hierarchal notions make desperation to stay "on top" explosive.
Shidou shouldn't live in a world where he has to "deceive" people to help transplant patients, or suffer with guilt over his own family; a culture of death acceptance and genorosity would help him overcome these horrible feelings.
Mahiru had her mind fixated on a highly commercialized/mainstream idea of "love" and "romance," wrapping her self-worth in it to the point where she pulled another down; had her partner been honest with her, in a world where saving face and repression wasn't more important than communicating, they could have been at peace with or without each other.
Kazui was forced by the expectations of others to play a role he never wanted to, and another human's hopes and dreams were wrapped up in this role; his "failure" to be a husband to her as a straight man would not have even been an issue in a world where everyone can explore themselves without shame.
Amane was raised with cult ideology and shown immense levels of violence for a child to comprehend; she should have been protected, and a world where safety is more important than ideology would have saved their whole family.
Mikoto was heavily abused to the point where "survive by any means necessary" is on the table; everyone involved in his "murder" would have been better off showing a lot more compassion to others AND themselves.
Kotoko, though no "tragic backstory" that we know of, has always known that this world and that people in it can be violent and cruel; giving them a taste of their own medicine wouldn't be so bad if the medicine weren't so horrible to begin with.
If this world sought understanding before judgement, Es would not have the weight of 10+ worlds on their shoulders.
But if the world wasn't this way, we wouldn't have Milgram.
So it goes.

Unhinged Kimetsu Academy Headcanons
-Muzan and Kagaya are cousins. They despise each other. They are forced to be civil when the extended family gets together around the holidays, and have an unspoken agreement that they have to pretend to get along for the sake of their relatives. Kagaya is much better at this than Muzan. Amane holds her tongue, but she and Kagaya talk mad shit in the car on the way home.
-Mitsuri is going to art school, and desperately wants to student-teach in Tengen’s art class. He always refuses, mainly out of a very warranted fear that his students will like her better than him.
-When Kyojuro’s hearing is having an especially bad day, he can really struggle to speak to Obanai, who is soft spoken and wears a mask, so Kyojuro cannot read his lips. They will get stuck in loops of “what? Sorry, what?”, and Kyojuro feels bad about making Obanai take his mask off, so sometimes he’ll ask Obanai to write things down or just sign to him instead.
-When it gets especially cold outside, Tanjiro will force Inosuke to accept his coat by yammering about how much he appreciated him and how sad he would be if Inosuke caught a cold. If he gets flustered and giddy enough, Inosuke will agree to wear the coat so Tanjiro will be happy.
-During Zenitsu’s first week at the academy, he referred to the Ubuyashikis as “Beauty and the Beast”, and was overheard by Amane. Upon reporting this to Kagaya, she was shocked to find that instead of calling for discipline, Kagaya laughed his ass off for ten minutes straight and immediately adopted the nicknames. To this day, he still calls her Beauty when trying to tease her, and they have matching keychains of the enchanted rose on their work bags.
-Because he is polite, respectful, and capable of beating a grown man’s ass into the pavement if needed, many girls will approach Hakuji for protection if they are scared to walk home alone. One time he escorted Nezuko home when Tanjiro had a doctor’s appointment, and Kie rewarded him with enough bread to last him and Koyuki a week.
-Hakuji is mortified by the way he used to harass Kyojuro for a fight as a middle schooler. After marrying Koyuki, he has cleaned up his ways and become quite the gentleman, and he copes by lying to himself that the teachers have forgotten all about it. Unbeknownst to him, Kyojuro is quite excited for Hakuji to graduate so they can finally have a good old spar between martial artists.
-The Ubuyashikis are fully aware that Nakime is a spy for Kibutsuji. Kagaya lets her stay, because she has never once uncovered anything remotely useful, and he knows that she’s just a bit down on her luck and looking for a place to belong. He has faith that someday she’ll realize the error of her ways and abandon Muzan’s regime of terror. Amane is not convinced, and actively takes any chance she can get to thwart Nakime’s casual espionage.
-Tengen loves to watch anime, being the art nerd and flashy bastard that he is. His favorite is Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure, and he often tries to peer pressure Kyojuro into watching it. Kyojuro tends to have a hard time following what on earth is happening in that show, but he does enjoy some of the more tame ones.
-Following the Halloween festival, Kokushibo developed a casual interest in cooking. He’s gotten quite good with a bit of practice. Rumor has it that he makes an extremely good curry, and it’s become Yoriichi’s favorite.
y’all I have so many thoughts about this lmfaooo somebody SEDATE ME

okay fuck it i went to a leonardo da vinci exhibit today and now i have a leonardo da vinci death note AU in my head because i am a parody of myself so you can fucking have it i guess what do i even do with this
light yagami: young genius polymath who is good at literally everything
unfortunately for him he is a foreigner in italia (his family immigrated) so the government is not letting him anywhere near their weaponry projects. instead he does art. yes light yagami painted the mona lisa no i do not take criticism i’m in too deep
his portraits are predictably amazing. smash hit. soon aristocracy from all over italy is contacting him to draw them and their mother. this means he doesnt even have time in the day to draw giant fuckoff warship designs anymore. what point is there to life, he sulks.
eventually he accepts a commission from one kyosuke higuchi! we’re italianizing him because i really don’t think this AU works otherwise but let’s call him higuchi anyway. higuchi is a fifty-something duke of something or other who has recently married one misa amane who is twenty-something (the same age as light). misa is the subject of the portrait because higuchi just loves his darling wife so much (read: they had a shotgun wedding and higuchi needs to keep up appearances)
light is like wow someone who isn’t white it’s been like five years. i kind of feel bad for her, this situation is very suspicious. hello miss amane if you’ll just sit down over there while i get my brushes
misa (seeing the first person who has been even remotely sympathetic to her absolutely horrific life, noticing he hasn’t tried to make any advances on her at all [this is a good thing]): I AM DRASTICALLY IN LOVE WITH YOU.
light: what
misa’s plan of seducing light predictably fails because he’s light, so she explains she has to get the fuck away from higuchi somehow
light is like okay well i am sorry to hear that but what does this have to do with me.
misa, tearing up: im a damsel in distress! also i can get you information about his court
light: whats his job
misa: financial advisor
light: oh fuck yes okay
so light’s plan is now to worm into the yotsuba court to get funding and hopefully sway them enough to let him pitch his cool weaponry ideas so he can Change The World. he does need income in general too (both for himself and his family; expected lifespan was way shorter then obviously).
misa’s plan is to kill higuchi somehow which will be much easier with light as backup she thinks
so. light packs up and moves to the yotsuba court which is thrilled to have THE light yagami portrait artist (i do more than portraits…) in their employ
oh yeah, misa mentions, the prince of the yotsuba court is kind of… weird
light: you could have told me this before
misa: ehe. dont worry about it!! it’s just um. he had a weird personality shift a few years ago? and now he refuses to wear royal attire. he always dresses like a peasant.
light: well it’s not like i’m going to be there to judge him on fashion am i.
THAT’S RIGHT. SIKE THIS IS AN ISEKAI NOW. yes L does remember light killing him <3 he (L) woke up in fifteenth century renaissance italy in a twenty-something-year-old body immediately after the heart attack. by some miracle he already knew italian.
so everything is going swell until one day light walks into his workshop to find the prince flipping through his notebook
light, sleep deprived: hey what the fu—i mean. uh. good morning your highness
there’s no need for that formality. call me L.
(…but your name doesn’t start with an L?) thank you, your highness L. um. sorry i know my handwriting’s messy.
on the contrary i find it completely readable, as long as one reads backwards and caesar shifts it three letters forward.
(oh SHIT he’s onto me) haha what are you talking about?
in fact i think this mechanical dragonfly contraption is rather ingenious.
oh aha that’s not important, just a passing fancy honestly
[ignoring him] if only you had some better way of providing torque, because as it stands the spring engine is extremely poorly designed.
what the fuck did you just say to me
[they end up physically fighting over the notebook because of course they do. meet cute!]
some more details:
ryuk is the patron light eventually gets after being in higuchi’s court for a bit
rem is higuchi’s personal assistant, who was disowned by her own royal-blooded family because her family sucks. she hates her job. if it weren’t for misa she’d probably be on the other side of the country by now
i don’t know where the wammy kids are. they’re definitely competing to be the heir to L’s throne but also they’re not related because there is no way that all the wammy kids (the whole orphanage of wammy kids) could have come from the same person. maybe some kind of insufferably high collar royal boarding school? did they even have those? help me
kiyomi and teru are both advisors in other courts (which are extremely corrupt, light seethes, in his perfect world there wont be any of those anymore) (you work for a court light) (thats different)
okay i’m done for today. you never know about tomorrow though. /threat.
[ @deathnotetober day 12: isekai ]
#i think theres so much you could do with canon L meeting au light but i cant fucking write renaissance dialogue so here you go#death note#light yagami#misa amane#l lawliet#our three major players!#lawlight#deathnotetober#higuchi is here too but i dont know if this is enough of a him post to warrant the tag#DISCLAIMER: i know nothing about leonardo da vinci outside of the exhibition i went to today#sorry for any historical inaccuracies#on the plus side if you spot any you probably have enough knowledge to write this

Aredhel, the White lady of the Noldor
Aredhel, "Noble Lady", the White Lady of the Noldor, is also the one "who loved much to ride and hunt in the forests". Her white garments must be speckled with blood.
"Ar-Feniel she was called, the White Lady of the Noldor, for she was pale, though her hair was dark, and she was never arrayed but in silver and white."
White and pale, signifiers of purity, she was "often in the company of the sons of Fëanor, her kin ; but to none was her heart's love given".
This is a pattern, for Aredhel : always looking after the "wrong" male relatives, always for the "wrong" reasons. She is "often" with the sons of Fëanor when in Aman, the least obvious choice of companions - yes, her slightly rebellious older brother, Fingon, is at one point friend with Maedhros, but it doesn't last and her more respectable brother, Turgon, is instead friend with the sons of Finarfin.
And it's not even out of love, an acceptable motive for transcending family feuds, that she seeks the company of her least respectable cousins. It's because she enjoys being with them, and the freedom they allow her. In an Elven society where her options are limited, Aredhel is not the one who is going to bridge the gap between the House of Fëanor and the House of Fingolfin by conveniently falling in love with one of her cousins. One assumes she is having too much fun for that. One can imagine the slightly disapproving looks in that sentence "but to none was her heart's love given". And doesn't her Quenya name mean "Desirable Lady" ?
Is Aredhel even Fingolfin's daughter ? They are never mentioned together - Aredhel is always either with her cousins, going from one brother to the other, always seeking an escape, never, it seems, submitting to a paternal authority that is eventually delegated to her brother Turgon (she is "under his protection"). She goes into exile with her family, but unlike Galadriel, we are given no motive for that, and she isn't even mentioned at all during the flight of the Noldor. But she leaves Aman, like Galadriel, who has been moved by Fëanor's words, like her sister-in-law, Elenwë, who follows her husband, and unlike her mother, Anairë, who stays behind. She crosses the Ice. She makes it to Middle-earth. Was she, like the other Noldor, yearning for freedom there ?
Aredhel is a character that is defined by her rebellion, and her desire to be free. In alternative versions of her story, Tolkien imagined that "Isfin", as she was called, "strays - refusing to be married in Gondolin", as her brother had planned for her, or is forced to marry and then escapes - or refuses outright to be "immured" in Gondolin, and escapes "soon after Turgon compelled her to enter". Or, she is born in Middle-Earth and refuses to go to Aman, escaping at the last minute to stay behind with her lover Eöl.
In the published version of the Silm, no mention of planned marriages or of having been forced to enter Gondolin is made, but she leaves the city, at her forceful insistence, threatening to leave alone, unprotected, unaccompanied, like no woman should, and against her brother's advice :"I am your sister", she says, "and not your servant, and beyond your bounds I will go as seems good to me. And if you begrudge me an escort, then I will go alone".
She leaves under the pretence to go and visit her brother Fingon (not her father), but is instead planning to go and visit her bad cousins : "Turn now south", she instructs her escort once out of sight from Gondolin, "for I will ride to Hithlum ; my heart desires rather to find the sons of Fëanor, my friends of old". Her heart, it seems, is not in the right place. This is no dutiful daughter or even sister.
So instead of going to Fingon, she seeks "the dangerous road " (of course, she would) "between the haunted valleys of Ered Gorgoroth and the north fences of Doriath", where she loses her escort in the shadows "and was lost". But she is made of sterner stuff and finds her way to Himlad, to her cousins, who are not home. She waits for them, but gets "restless" again, "and took to riding alone ever further abroad", all the way to Nan Elmoth.
Nan Elmoth, where once Thingol and Melian fell in love. It was a good story. She was standing in the centre of a starlit clearing, filled with song of her birds ; he was going to visit a friend, when he happened upon her, and he came strolling in her direction, charmed by the song of the nightingales, "an enchantment" upon him that made him forget all purpose but finding her. "Filled with love", he "took her hand", "and straightaway a spell was laid on him". They stood there "long years" together, after which he came back changed to his people, became king of Beleriand, had a very special daughter.
Of course, Aredhel and Eöl's story is not a good story. She escaped the guard and protection of her male relatives out of wilfulness. She is no Thingol, allowed to visit her friend. She is the one who comes to Nan Elmoth, she is the one assuming the "active", mobile role, normally the preserve of men, when she should be waiting in the clearing, while Eöl is the one lying in wait in his woods. It's no longer a love story, but a story of "desire" (never a good sign), of a beautiful, white lady, full of light, being attracted by enchantments to a Dark Elf's lair, like a a firefly being ensnared by a spider. Aredhel and Eöl are the dark, subversive doubles of Thingol and Melian. A magical meeting, but where the magic is bad, even though the vocabulary used to describe both meetings it is strikingly similar.
"It is not said that Aredhel was wholly unwilling", is often interpreted as describing a barely consensual union, but what if that weird sentence with too many negations was the narrator's way of barely coping with the fact that she was, indeed, willing to enter that subversive marriage ? That Aredhel, cooped up in Gondolin for 200 years, passed from one male relative to another, did indeed chose to marry that "Dark Elf", that declared enemy of her people, who saw her and "desired" her, Irissë, the "Desirable Lady", and who promised her a life wandering free in the dark woods of Nan Elmoth ? What if she desired him back, the "tall Elf of a high kin of the Teleri, noble though grim of face" clad, "whenever he went abroad", in galvorn, a metal of his invention, black and shining like jet, "hard as the steel of the Dwarves", "resistant to all blades and darts", that turns his entire body into an alien, erotic object, black to her white ?
And indeed, black Eöl and white Aredhel "wandered far together under the stars or by the light of the sickle moon", and she is also free to "fare alone as she would, save that Eöl forbade her to seek the sons of Fëanor, or any other of the Noldor."
Aredhel was not "wholly unwilling" to marry Dark Eöl, that Elf that manages to be at once a bad Noldo, while not a Noldo - he is given all of the bad, negative traits associated with blacksmith in fairy tales and mythology (darkness, creepiness, a general air of evil, lust and greed), of which the Noldor smith are exempt - and a bad Sinda - he has Thingol's pride and anger, his contempt and hatred for the Exiles, but none of his redeeming qualities and he chooses to leave Doriath-, who hates her relatives and forbids her from seeing her family again. But wasn't she fleeing from her family in the first place, and if Eöl forbids her from leaving Nan Elmoth, wasn't she used to living under stifling male authority at home ?
In spite of the interdiction to see her kin, Curufin is not surprised in the least to hear Eöl claim her as his wife. It's a subversive, out-of-the-rules marriage, "without leave". Very Aredhel. Do not "pursue those who love you no more", advises Curufin to Eöl. He should know : he once had a wife, too. Did she stop loving him too ?
Aredhel, of course, is not a good wife. How could she be, rebellious as she is ? Aredhel is a mother before being a wife. She commits the ultimate, most subversive transgression imaginable to medieval society : she allies herself with her son against her husband, against his father, to topple his authority. The "good women" of the Legendarium are wives before they are mothers : their ultimate loyalty is to their husband, at a push to their father, not to their children. Idril, Elwing, Lúthien, Melian, even Miríel are first and foremost wives. Only the ones with a "tainted marriage" are accused of putting their children first, because of the lacking quality of the marriage bond : Nerdanel, Indis.
And even out of these, Aredhel is the only one to have her child choose her over his father. Nerdanel's children follow their father in his rebellion. Fingolfin leaves too, to avenge his father and claim his legacy, leaving his mother behind. Maeglin calls his mother "Lady", and offers "You shall be my guide, and I will be your guard !" That "ill-begotten son", as Eöl calls him, chooses his mother, and her mother's people, over his father. He wants to go to Gondolin because he knows "of Turgon, and that he had no heir".
Aredhel is a bad wife : she does not change House on marrying, but remains, at heart, a Noldor. She gives a secret, Quenya name to her child. She remains an enemy at heart to her husband. Her son dreams of being part of a family where her brother would be a surrogate father, and him his heir.
But Aredhel is, as we've seen, not a good sister either. She introduces into Gondolin the seeds of its destruction, the son "of a sinister character", as Tolkien describes him, that will betray it and cause its destruction. She doesn't know this, of course, but as she flees to Gondolin, Eöl follows her, finds the secret city, spits out his hatred at the face of her brother, and, eventually, aiming for his son, after having given up his rights to her ("in Aredhel your sister you have some claim", says the husband to the brother - to the end, Aredhel cannot escape being male property it seems), kills her with a poisoned javelin. What more fitting death for Aredhel than to be killed by a poisonous, phallic object, thrown at her by her estranged husband, the poison killing her a fitting parallel to the poisonous seed that gave birth to Maeglin ?
Aredhel, Irissë, the White Lady of the Noldor, is a naughty, rebellious girl, a bad daughter, a bad sister, a bad wife. There is blood on her white dress.

Painter's Passion
You are a clumsy painter in Aman. It was not a bad thing for you. Ever since you were reborn from the halls of Mandos, you have been seeking to capture the world around you in a piece of canvas. You also find yourself catching feelings for a certain red-haired Noldor prince.
Warnings: mentions of dying in the past, dead parents, being reborn, reader being incredibly clumsy and prone to accidents, falling, someone getting paint all over them, some angsty moments, confessions, and courting.
-----------------------------------------
- Your life in Aman has been good since your release from the halls of Mandos, having healed from the wounds of the past and reunited with your younger sister.
- It was a joyful reunion and her new family took you in since your parents never returned from death.
- Your sister’s husband was a sweet ellon, and her in-laws were kind to you. You managed to adapt into their family soon enough and it was like you had been part of their family since the beginning.
- They were so accepting and supported you when you found a new passion in painting and arts, even when you were quite clumsy for an elf.
- You were enthusiastic and couldn’t help it. When you see something you want to sketch and paint, you tend to pay less attention to your surroundings and trip yourself, or end up in other predicaments. You have been like that your whole life. Ever since your release from Mandos, you just wanted to see all the beauty of the world and capture it on a canvas.
- It was perhaps one of the reasons why your younger sister was so protective of you. When you reunited and joined her new family, she barely allowed you to be alone and wanted to spend as much time with you as possible. Your brother-in-law even teased you that you kinda stole his wife, but you two figured out your sister might have still been bothered by the trauma you two experienced in Middle Earth, and you did die saving her.
- Your sister was at least comfortable enough to let you wander as long as you had someone to accompany you. You agreed to her terms, knowing she just wanted to look out for you.
- You managed to make yourself a name in Aman. Your skills in painting grew significantly, and you started receiving commissions even from the noble houses. However, after five months in your new life, you started to struggle to find inspiration. It was an art block and you wanted to expand what you usually painted.
- One of the least usual places you have gone was the northern parts of Aman, and when you told your family your plans to go there, they hesitated but allowed it as long as you were careful.
- The northern parts of Aman were lovely even though most claimed it to be cold and rather desolated. You did not mind it as it reminded you of your home in Beleriand.
- You sketched many lovely things you saw before finding a good spot for a painting.
- You climbed on one of the trees to have a better view of the mountains and the trees and began joyfully sketching. However, when you wanted to try using some of the paint, you accidentally dumped your arm against one of your paint vials and it fell toward the ground. It was really bothersome as it meant you would have to climb down and you climbed quite high in the tree, but what you did not expect was the vial to hit someone.
- You were startled and stayed quiet when the elf below you yelled and cursed out in frustration. You looked down but couldn’t see anyone due to the branches. You doubted they could see you too. You listened for a while as the people below you talked, then heard them leave. You should have apologized for the mistake, but staying quiet was like a fear response when people started yelling angrily, it was something you couldn’t get rid of even during your healing in the halls of Mandos.
- You sighed, trying to relax, but then you lost your balance and fell backward from the branch.
- You yelled as you fell and hit the branches below. When you saw the ground coming, you braced yourself, but then you felt a pair of arms wrap around you, catching you and preventing you from hitting the ground. You looked at your savior as they held you in their arms before your art supplies fell from the tree as well, forcing you two to cover yourselves.
- You then glanced at the ellon again. He was a rather handsome one with eyes striking blue and hair crimson like fire.
- “Ehh…sorry and thank you,” you awkwardly laughed. “Wow… you’re quite beautiful,” you commented.
- The handsome elf questioned if you were hurt and you assured him you did not suffer anything serious than a few bruises and twigs in your hair before explaining your reason for being in the tree and showing him the sketches you managed to draw before your ungraceful fall.
- He looked skeptical of you at first since apparently, not many elves ventured to the northern parts of Aman, but he seemed to have relaxed when he saw your sketches and questioned if the paint vial that fell upon his brother moments ago was yours, making you feel more awkward as you confirmed it and apologized.
- He assured you it was just an accident, nothing to get mad about though his brother who fell unintentionally as a victim would think otherwise before questioning why you couldn’t just sketch on the ground where there was less risk of falling.
- You then started rambling about getting the perfect view of the land around you. You began showing him the sketches and paintings you managed to make and told him all the incidents that followed, like your foot getting stuck between some rocks, nearly falling into a river and a nest of owls not being very happy with you being on the same tree as them.
- He looked impressed with your sketches but raised a brow at every incident you mentioned.
- You then asked if he knew of any lovely views you could draw because he seemed more familiar with the land. Even though he seemed hesitant, he agreed to show you.
- He then accompanied you, showing you places and views you might like. They looked colorless and boring to him, but you always found something beautiful and began drawing. You even rambled about how the north reminded you of Beleriand.
- Mention of Beleriand gained his interest, and you then found out he used to live there too during the first age. You excitedly started conversing with him about it since so few spoke about it these days.
- You recalled some of the continent's beauty and how you lived in Hithlum with your sister and family. When he told you he used to live in Himring, you got excited and asked many questions about it, wanting to imagine Himring and its snowy hills. Your new companion seemed baffled by your excitement but willingly described his former home.
- During your little adventure, you sketched and talked while he mostly listened and made sure you did not end up in another incident. At the end of the day, he escorted you back to your home city and bid you farewell. You asked if he could show you around again the next time you wanted to visit the northern parts. He seemed genuinely surprised but said if you wanted, then he would be more than happy to show you more of the north.
- You were delighted. You thanked him and then parted ways. When you returned home and told your family about your little adventure, they questioned the name of the elf and then you realized you had completely forgotten to ask for his name or tell him your name.
- However, when you described him, your family seemed to know who the elf was. You then learned your new friend’s name was Maedhros, the eldest son of Feanor, who nowadays lived in Formenos, away from society.
- They urged you to stay weary of him. You felt a little confused, though you were aware of the sons of Feanor and what they did, Maedhros did not seem monster-like or someone who would want to cause harm to anyone. And besides, you believed in giving people a second chance despite their past.
- Your family did not forbid you from meeting him again, or maybe because you forgot to mention that you were going to see him again.
- The next time you met him, you found him where you last set off and together went on another adventure around the north. You rambled about things and he mostly listened. He wasn’t the biggest talker, but he seemed happy just listening and watching as you worked on your paintings and sketches.
- He also made sure you were safe. He made sure you didn't accidentally fall into a ravine or get mauled by a bear for intruding on its territory.
- He assured you he was not angry at all by these incidents, but sometimes it crossed his mind if you needed a safety harness or something,
- You painted many lovely pieces of the north. When Maedhros escorted you back again, you finally remembered to introduce yourself.
- Maedhros introduced himself and before he could start with anything else, you handed him a small sketch you drew last night. You explained you couldn’t stop imagining Himring and drew a sketch from his description. He was genuinely surprised by the gift, and when he didn’t give much reaction, you nearly apologized, but then he explained how you managed to draw Himring quite well without having ever seen it and he was grateful for the gift.
- He then said he enjoyed adventuring around the north with you, and now that you knew who he was, he would respectfully stay away and you do not have to come to see him since most elves do not have anything nice to say about his father and his brothers.
- You then smiled and asked why he would assume you never wanted to see him again. You then explained you were not bothered by his family’s reputation and that many unfortunate things happened during the first age. You would love to go on more adventures with him because not many had the patience to accompany you and save you from the incidents like he did.
- Maedhros seemed shocked by your answer, but then his eyes softened and he even cracked a small smile.
- He called you bold. You two had only known each other for two days, yet you already confessed to enjoying his company and wanting to see him again. You only giggled at his response, and it was the start of a beautiful friendship.
- You told your sister about it, and even though she seemed a bit skeptical, she told you she would allow it as long as Maedhros kept you safe and would gut him alive if he dared to hurt you or anything.
- Maedhros did not often visit the cities because of the reputation he and his family held, so you would mostly come to him instead, at the edge of the forest that became your meeting spot. You two would scout out interesting sights, draw, and paint. You would ramble about interesting things that happen in the city or your family. Maedhros shared a little about what happens between his brothers and father, as the atmosphere is pretty quiet sometimes but sometimes shenanigans happen. He was mostly interested only listening to you.
- He was still a bit on guard, but each time you visited. He began to soften up and even share things about himself.
- You even encouraged him to try drawing, which could help relieve bottled-up feelings and keep his focus elsewhere. While Maedhros did not have the most artistic hands, he was capable of drawing small things like flowers and rabbits. One time he drew a small good portrait of you, and you have kept it safe ever since.
- Sometimes you tried telling funny stories and jokes to see him laugh. Only some of them made him smile and chuckle, but you have yet to make him laugh.
- When you two would ride around, he always seemed to be on a watch out for you. You did tend to get into accidents, but even when he came for a rare visit in a city, most likely to visit his mother, he would keep on guard for you. It was like you had a big guard dog following you around, but you did not mind.
- You met a few of his brothers when they began to notice Maedhros’s absence in their home and how he went out more.
- Maglor was the first to notice and secretly followed his older brother once with the twins to see what had gotten him so keen on going out more often, and the three were surprised when they saw him with you.
- Maedhros’s heart nearly jumped into his throat when he saw them, and they revealed themselves to you. For the first time in years, he was afraid they would do something to scare you away, but like with him, you did not even seem phased and greeted them enthusiastically.
- You quickly won Maglor over when you started talking with him and even showed him your sketchbook of all the places Maedhros showed you, even unintentionally giving them a reason to tease Maedhros by showing his small drawings and the small portrait of you.
- The twins kept asking you things and were surprised when they learned you were fully aware of who they were and did not seem bothered by their past. They quickly accepted you when you showed them the drawings and they were continuously cackling at Maedhros, who was at the edge of considering murder.
- He knew well that they were not going to let him hear the end of it.
- He momentarily told you to go elsewhere for a moment, and you heard him yell at them to go home before escorting you home without them. You heard one of them calling Maedhros out for having a crush. You only giggled at the rest of the journey, while Maedhros looked like a deflated balloon.
- But some time later, your focus on art began to waver toward Maedhros, the shape of his face, his crimson hair, and the soft expression he often wore. You made a few sketches of him but felt yourself become a bit shy at the thought of giving them to him. It was surprising because you don’t usually become shy when giving people their portraits.
- Maedhros suddenly became busy for a week, so you couldn't see him. It was something related to a family business, and during that time you grew to miss him. He did send you a letter beforehand and you couldn’t help but hold on to it.
- When your sister and brother-in-law came to visit, they found the sketches and the painting of Maedhros. You told them about your visits with him and your sudden change of feelings toward him. They seemed surprised, then explained you were falling in love with him.
- The thought made you excited, and even more excited when your sister and brother-in-law supported your feelings, but for the sake of your family, you will reveal them gently.
- You slowly opened up about your feelings to your new mother and father and since they did not hold any grudges or bad opinions about the sons of Feanor. They accepted it, having had a feeling who you have been seeing and how much happier you seemed to have gotten.
- You then attended a party. You and your family were dressed for the occasion, and to your joy Maedhros was there.
- People looked at you like you were a headless chicken when you approached him and Maedhros seemed stunned when he saw you, though not in a bad way, he looked at you and the dress you wore and called you beautiful. You shyly returned the compliment, telling how dashing he looked.
- You explained your sister married one of the Vanyar, who was a noble house, and thus became part of their family.
- You two mostly conversed the night on the side, and when it was time for a dance, Maedhros encouraged you to find someone else for a dance partner because he might pull bad attention on you.
- You told him you were a clumsy dancer and did not want to accidentally embarrass yourself by stepping on someone’s foot or making them fall though you would love to dance with someone.
- Maedhros then seemed to have an idea and he led you outside, where you two slowly danced to the song. He helped you learn the steps, and that closeness made your face burn with shyness. You incidentally stepped a few times on his feet but he was patient. You had fun and you two even laughed about it.
- It was the first time you even heard him giggle out of the silliness of the whole situation.
- At the end of the song or two, you then remembered and asked if he could meet you at the castle garden at the end of the party, wanting to tell him something in private. He agreed and you two momentarily returned to your families.
- Your parents and sister were still dancing, so the only one you found was your brother-in-law’s younger brother. He was young and a bit rash, but you two were close.
- You shared with him that you had been meeting someone and planned on confessing, and he seemed happy for you till he realized it was Maedhros you were talking about.
- He suddenly became upset and told you how you should not court someone like Maedhros.
- He used to grow up hearing all the bad stories about Maedhros and his family, so you understood his rashness and tried to calm him down. You tried to explain that Maedhros had not done anything to make you like this, but then he mentions how Maedhros also used to be a thrall, thus he was not also evil but tainted by darkness. All thralls of Morgoth were tainted with evil and darkness.
- You were stunned by his statement and told him you used to be a thrall of Morgoth too.
- He became quiet by your confession. You were not angry with him but his words did cause pain in your heart since your sister had shared how you both used to be thralls in Middle Earth.
- He started apologizing, but you assured him you were not angry but needed to be alone.
- You do not know what happened after but you did hear your sister yell after you retreated into the garden since it was the end of the party. You tried to dry your tears while waiting for Maedhros, but they forcibly came out and you started sobbing, remembering painful memories of your time in Angband and the death of your parents.
- Maedhros was startled when he found you like this and quickly questioned what had happened.
- You shared what happened with him and then told him the story of how you and your sister became thralls in Middle Earth.
- When your home fell, you and your family were taken to Angband. Many bad things happened during your time there, including the death of your parents. Your sister was a child back then, and one day, you sacrificed your life so she could escape the iron hell.
- Your sister managed to escape, growing up alone and falling in love with a Vanyar elf when the host of the valar finally came to end Morgoth’s reign of terror.
- However, the sorrowful part was that for most thralls who end up dying there, their souls would be trapped in the darkness or fade from existence. Your soul was lucky to escape the darkness and find its way to the halls of Mandos, but your parent's souls were not so lucky.
- Your younger brother's words brought back the memories and you felt hurt he thought all thralls were evil, even though you do not remember ever doing evil things when you were still alive.
- You then apologized to Maedhros for not telling him.
- Maedhros only shook his head and comforted you. His presence was enough to make you calm. You told him your brother got upset because you wanted to confess your feelings for him.
- Maedhros was shocked until you explained that you accept him and his past and that you liked being with him.
- Maedhros then told you he had already started falling for you when you accepted his brothers and how your gentle enthusiastic heart simply began pulling him toward you. He only held himself back because he believed you deserved someone, who did not possess such a tainted past as him.
- The first age was long gone and his past as a thrall did not matter to you as you used to be one too. You would love to court him as long as he accepted your feelings.
- He then gave you a gentle kiss on the back of your hand and told you he would guard your heart and joy till you did not want him anymore.
- You became happy and confessed you did not believe there was ever going to be a time when you would not want him.
- When he returned you home, you heard how upset your sister was after hearing what happened. Your little brother was ashamed after getting yelled at by her. You tried to assure them you were not angry and had already forgiven him, then Maedhros further dispelled the argument, asking their permission to court you. It was a surprise, but it seemed to have worked dispelling the violent atmosphere.
- Your sister, brother, and parents admired Maedhros’s boldness and since they were aware of your feelings for him, they accepted. Your little brother seemed hesitant, but Maedhros seemed to have a way with words and even he relented and gave his blessing, also because he felt awful about the things he said.
- Their acceptance made you really happy.
- Later in the week, you finally gained the courage to show the sketches and paintings you made for him, and he admired them then teased you made him look way too pretty, which made you laugh.
- Then during your first month of courtship, he introduced you to his mother, who was delighted to meet you. She teased Maedhros because apparently he talked a lot about you and was glad that he finally confessed.
- Maedhros still kinda wanted to keep you away from his brothers, but since Maglor and the twins already knew, he revealed he was now courting someone to his father and the rest of his brothers.
- His father was happy for him and told him he was free to love anyone he wanted especially someone who bore him no ill will for what happened. Caranthir wanted to meet you since he was a bit skeptical but after meeting you, he was certain his brother would be fine. Celegorm was a bit bummed down that he was left in the dark and Curufin was upset when he found out you were the one who accidentally dumped paint on him during the hunting trip.
- You apologized for it, and he then dared you to paint something good since he was not convinced about your artistic talents because of how clumsy and sometimes forgetful you were.
- You accepted and with some tips from Maedhros and Celegorm, you managed to paint a painting that impressed Curufin. You were not certain what he thought of it after he received the painting, but Celegorm confirmed he liked it.
-Your courtship was a joyful one, and after many months, Maedhros asked you to marry him and you accepted.

,,Crees que me gustará y aceptarán?” Carlos asked, with concern laced in his voice, as he took his hand out of your hand and wiped his sweat off on his blue jeans. Do you think the will like and accept me?
You were on the way to your family, so carlos could meet them. Carlos' family was so happy to meet you, and you knew that you would too. You were in front of a traffic light, that was red, when carlos told you about his concern.
,,Carlos, mi amor, estarás bien. Ellos amarán tanto como yo te amo.” you took his hand back into yours and held it int your mouth, so you could kiss his knuckles to calm his nerves. Carlos, my love, you will be alright. They will love as much as I love you.
You laid your hands in your lap, stroked his hand with your thumb and looked at him. Carlos turned his head to the side, leaned to the side and gave you a kiss on your temple and your cheek.
As the traffic light started turning green, he took his hands out of your, and started driving again. He laid one hand on your thigh and the other one was still on the stirring wheel.
20 minutes later, carlos turned the car into the parking space in front of your parents' house. He parked the car, and before you exited the car you looked at him, when he exhaled heavily.
,,Puedes hacerlo, querida. Te amarán.” You encouragingly said, with a smile on your face, laid your hand on his shoulder and squeezed it. You can do it, my darling. They will love you.
,,Espero que tengas razón, nena. Confío en que sepas cómo reaccionará tu familia ante mí.” He chuckled. I hope you are right, baby. I trust you to know how your family will react to me.
Carlos gave you a little smile, stept out of the car, opened your car door and helped you out of the car. He locked the car, took your hand in his and walked to your house, where your family was.
When you first told your parents about carlos, they were not so exited. But as you told them more about him, they were exited. More even. They were both absolutely trilled. As for your mom, she was extremely happy for you.
And when you told your whole family about him, they were happy. But your aunts were so excited, they were screaming and hugging each other. You have never seen them like this before.
Before you were in front of the front door, the door opened and your mom came out of the door. She walked up to carlos and hugged him, completely ignoring you, and then leading him in to the house.
When you were in the house, all of your family members walked up to carlos, hugging and talking to him. They completely ignored you, so you went into the kitchen and sat on a stool.
Some minutes later, your mom and aunts lead him into the kitchen to you. He sat next to you on another stool, now giving you a bright smile. He looked happy and so relieved,
,,Te dije que te amarán. Te aman más de lo que me aman a mí.” You exclaimed with a little chuckle. I told you that they will love you. They love you more than they love me.
Carlos gave you a smile, kissed you on your lips and told you how relieved he was, while he held your hand. As your mother saw how you both were holding hands, she started to tease you.
“You don't need to suck your faces of, lovers”
“Public sex in the house of your parents, really?”
The relieved feeling left carlos now. Your family saw how you kissed and teased you both. Carlos thought, that this was the day he would die of embarrassment.
She then told you aunts, who also looked at you, smiling. Then they started to tease you too. You both looked at them, your cheeks turning red and carlos pulled you closer, so he could lay his head on your shoulders.
Carlos wasn't the shy type, but now that they were teasing you both, he couldn't stop but to be embarrassed. He wanted to make a good impression and show them how he loved you, and now they were teasing him about it.
As they saw how carlos laid his head on your shoulder, they decided to go and give you both some space. When they were out of the kitchen, carlos raised his head from your shoulder and looked at you. Red tinting his cheeks.
“Are you okay?” Carlos nodded at you with a little smile.
“This was not how I imagined this to go.”
“This is so embarrassing. Your family just saw how I kissed you. This is really embarrassing. Good way to make a impression.”
You talked some more, so carlos could calm down after this embarrassing moment. But then your mom told you that dinner was ready, and you went into the dining room.
You sat down on the chairs and waited for the food to eat. Carlos gave you a quick kiss on your lip, but you wanted a full one, so he gave you one. And again. Your mom and aunts saw you both and started to throw some comments.
“You both are so cute.”
“You look so beautiful together.”
“The perfect couple.”
But then your dad interrupted them and told them to sit down, so you could all start eating and have a great time. First they wanted to say something, but your dad gave them a demanding stare so thy sat down.
“Love birds, you know that you can do this at home, right?”

Milgram drought be hitting hard... Anyway I was thinking what an anime of each prisoner's personal story might look like (assuming all isolated from each other and Milgram as a facility does not exist) ((also assume each 12 episodes long)) also assuming they're psychological dramas because. Milgram
Haruka: The main appeal is the artstyle, drawn like animated child's drawings for most of the time but a few scenes an episode is instead depicted in starkly realistic illustrations (not animated). It's told from the perspective of Haruka who keeps insisting he has a good life even as all the facts point otherwise, finally culminating in the murder late in the show, at which point the artstyle changes to be a strange mix of the previous two
Yuno: What first presents itself as a peppy slice-of-slice soon devolves into a painfully raw story of a teen girl. The winner of many awards but not that popular with most people who claim to find it too dry and boring
Fuuta: The murder happens towards the end of episode two but it isn't revealed to the audience exactly what happens until much later. Fuuta's behaviour clearly changes after that point and he keeps getting harassed by people who were previously friendly with him, but the actual flashback reveal is only in ep 8. The show leans very heavily into the "is he a bad person?" question and the fandom is known for starting debates about it in the comments of completely unrelated posts
Muu: It was a dark setup from the start but not many people expected a murder in episode 7. The anime switches POV between Muu and Rei until Rei dies, then it switches between Muu and a student counsellor (who doesn't know about the murder and is just trying to solve the bullying but the tension comes from the fact that the audience and Muu keep being worried about her potentially learning about the murder)
Shidou: The most niche of the bunch, some people weren't a fan of how medically accurate it was while others rejoiced in that fact. The whole thing is a flashback as it's established that Shidou has left the medical industry in the first episode but it is slowly revealed why and the circumstances behind his family's deaths as it goes on
Mahiru: Yuno's might have been a bit misleading at first but everyone who saw the promo material knew what was going down. Mahiru's managed to keep the dark twists under wraps, genuinely being sold as a cute love story though there were hints from the start. It's unclear when exactly the death happened because as it goes on it starts timeskipping and flashbacking without warning and it's clear that Mahiru isn't quite sure herself of what is actually happening
Kazui: Hinako is dead before the series even starts and it is actually told from the perspective of someone who works with Kazui slowly uncovering what happened out of morbid curiousity. Kazui is the very definition of unreliable narrator and nobody knows what to make of whatever information comes directly from him. Some fans don't like the way the show never seemed to decide on a single answer as to what happened while others praise it for it
Amane: The fandom is small but loud (though it is always recommended as "this one will tear your heart out"); the tale of a child embroiled in an awful home life, using a unique visual style of poppy colours and thick outlines to sharply contrast the horrible things being portrayed. The murder happens at the end of the last episode, giving the closest thing to a "happy ending" they could achieve for Amane, though it is left ambiguous what would happen to her next
Mikoto: Told in a non-chronological style, the reveal of the murder is towards the end (around episode 10) leaving the rest of the time as wrapup as Mikoto finally comes to accept the truth of the situation. There are still arguments in the fandom years after it ended if the murder was metaphorical or not
Kotoko: She's presented as a really cool vigilante at first but then it slowly unravels as she reveals more of her violent side and that her kill count is a LOT higher than previously thought. Her personality is divisive among fans but everyone can agree that the opening is a banger
DISCLAIMER: I just realised that some of these can be read as me throwing shade on the fans of a particular character; I promise 100% that isn't the case this was just a fun thought experiment!

Unhinged analysis - Demon Slayer Mark Series d=(^o^)=b 💪
In Search of Acceptance - What Determines a Person's Worth?
Muichiro's character, journey, and development are some of the most underappreciated and overlooked in the series. This is a shame because I see his story as a commentary on gender expectations of young boys in the form of emotional repression and stoicism to be 'useful' in society.
So let's begin this analysis from the very introduction of his character.
Who is Muichiro Tokito?
When we first meet Muichiro, we're not given a lot of information about him, aside from the fact that he's constantly spaced out. He isn't shown to have any proper sense of identity, and along with his forgetful nature, lack of emotions, thoughts, and opinions about anything. But then we do see something, two things actually; when the Master reveals that Tanjiro has met Muzan and when Tanjiro interrupts the Master when he's addressing the Hashira.
He expresses interest in Muzan and annoyance at Tanjiro's disrespectful interruption, so much so that he's the only one who reacts by pelting Tanjiro with stones. So we've seen two emotions so far, curiosity and annoyance. He isn't completely blank, just muted. The strongest emotions are the ones that breakthrough is his love and respect for the Master and his hatred for Muzan.
Next let's move on to his character design:
Similar to Sanemi, there's nothing on his uniform that gives us a clue to his personality and identity outside of being a Demon Slayer. His uniform is practical in concealing his movements from demons, but aside from that it's plain and blank, pointing to his lack of identity.
We get more information about his personality from his reintroduction in the second episode of the Swordsmith Village arc. he gets into an altercation with Kotetsu, who refuses to give him the key to Yorichii Type-Zero, a prized possession and family heirloom. At Kotetsu's refusal, Muichiro gets to bullying him, first with words as he attempts to put Kotetsu in his place by stating the difference in importance between the swordsmiths and the Hashira.
“There is a vast difference between the value of your time and a Pillar’s time.” “Swordsmiths are unable to fight, they can’t save people’s lives either. Other than making weapons, they’re useless.” “Get a clue about your position before making a move. You’re no longer a baby.”
When this does not work, he then moves on to attempting to bully Kotetsu physically and is stopped by Tanjiro. Tanjiro notices that there is no hint of malice in Muichiro's words, which tells us that he's simply stating what he believes to be true.
So where does this mindset come from?
The Useless, Worthless Boy
One of the things that I noticed about the twins is how their differences tell us a lot about the gender expectations of boys in society. Yuichiro possesses qualities that are prized and encouraged in boys and men—He's tough, strong, determined, capable, and most importantly unemotional. After their parents died, he was able to take up the responsibility of taking care of the household and taking over his father's job as a woodcutter with the single-minded purpose of taking care of his soft-hearted 'useless' brother.
Muichiro on the other hand is soft and weak as seen in the flashback where he struggles with carrying just one log of wood whereas Yuichiro has carried a dozen or so. He mentioned in the light novel that he wasn't able to do simple chores like cook rice or even use a knife. He's optimistic, soft-hearted, soft-spoken, and emotional; possessing traits that society considers useless in a boy/man, a sissy if you will.
Yuichiro seems to think so too because he not only mocks Muichiro for his 'uselessness' but he also berates him after Amane's visit by belittling his abilities and desire to become a swordsman. This has been interpreted by a lot of fans as Yuichiro hating him or him just being an emotionally abusive dick.
But if we simply listen to his outburst, we'll see that Yuichiro is not simply being hostile to Muichiro. But as we see from his outburst, his actions do not stem not from any real malice but from his fear of losing his little brother just like he lost his parents. In his mind, kindness, and optimism don't have a place in this harsh, cruel world that took their parents away from them. Anyway, despite his true intentions the message was clear to Muichiro, and the damage was done; traits such as kindness, and optimism are worthless and by extension Muichiro is worthless.
Then we had the demon attack, which echoed the same sentiments to Muichiro—their lives were worthless.
*I'm sorry but every time I watch this scene, seeing Muichiro holding Yuichiro, them huddled in the corner with Muichiro shaking in terror looking so small and helpless, it brings tears to my eyes. They were just babies! Fuck that can-opener-hands-looking motherfucker!😭
Anyway, the demon saw them as easy pickings who would not fight back and would not be missed by anyone because after all, like just Yuichiro said 'What can a couple of 11-year-olds do?'. But the thing is that even the smallest, most conflict-avoidant creature will bite back when pushed to the corner, especially when it's to protect what's important to them.
Muichiro was successful in killing that asshole demon, but the damage was already done. Yuichiro had bled out and even though Muichiro was able to make it back to him, the adrenaline from fighting the demon wore off, leaving him too exhausted to go call for help. As he watched his brother bleed to death, I reckon that he felt a sense of guilt because the only reason he was alive was because Yuichiro protected him, putting himself in danger.
I bet that Muichira was thinking that if only he was stronger, if only he wasn't so weak, so…useless, then maybe Yuichiro would still be alive. His brother was right to hate him, he was useless and stupid things like kindness, optimism, and weakness have no place in this world and all it does is get people killed, his mom, his dad, and now his brother. To have those traits is to be worthless, and even when his memory fades away due to the trauma, he still has those beliefs. Subconsciously or probably even consciously, he adopted the traits Yuichiro possessed that he believes will give him worth.
He trains his body to become strong and skilled to match Yuichiro's inherent strength. He also adopts Yuichiro's seemingly cold, callous, and emotionally repressed nature, especially his lack of tact, which he uses to berate anyone who possesses any trait different from what he deems 'useful'. To him, those people are like the old Muichiro—worthless, and this is what he tells Kotetsu.
“Swordsmiths are unable to fight, they can’t save people’s lives either. Other than making weapons, they’re useless.”
The Significance of Muichiro's Fight with Gyokko
We all know that the fight between Gyokko and Muichiro is the least liked in the series so far and the most shat on, with fans calling it mid and lackluster. Especially when compared to the final battle against Gyutaro and Daki in the Entertainment District arc.
But I disagree. First off, not every fight has to be a spectacle. The best fights to me are those that tell a story or a battle of ideologies between the opponents that ultimately result in the development of the protagonist. Second, Demon Slayer is a character-driven story, so the plot is secondary to the development of the characters, and instead, we focus on their journeys, which include their battles. Demon Slayer's antagonists are usually a twisted or exaggerated representation of our protagonist's inner beliefs, fears, and desires. They serve as a mirror that forces the characters to look inward and examine and overcome their false beliefs and inner demons, so to speak.
Gyokko is a twisted representation of Muichiro's view on worth and usefulness. This might seem obvious, but the demons don't value human life, and with Gyokko this disregard is even more apparent by his usage of the swordsmen's bodies in his 'art pieces'.
We also see his disregard in the way he callously spat out the body of that poor swordsmith he ate in the beginning when he entered the village. Rest in peace random swordsmith dude, your only crime is that you had good taste in pottery 🙏🏼😔.
So anyway, Gyokko's view of humans as worthless and insignificant is a twisted version of Muichiro's personal beliefs about worth. This is why Gyokko's comments unlocked his long-buried memories because they were similar to the words uttered by the demon that attacked the brothers, and subsequently also mirrored the words said by Yuichiro.
But here's the thing, Gyokko's disregard for Muichiro and the major mistake that caused him the fight was that he underestimated Muichiro because all he saw was this tiny boy and these weak swordsmen. After all, what can two little boys and two human swordsmiths do against a powerful, old, immortal demon like him? It's just like that can-opener demon said—their lives are worthless. He considers them insignificant, so insignificant in fact that he puts little thought into his methods of killing, like trapping Muichiro in the water vase and sending his little fishies to attack Kotetsu instead of just killing them immediately.
This is also why Haganezuka's lack of attention enraged him because it made Gyokko's presence insignificant. The demon wasn't worth the attention, which to Gyokko made him feel insignificant when it should've been the other way around.
In his attempt to correct things to their natural order in a sick version of 'notice me senpai!' he underestimated not only Haganezuka's intense focus on that autism-fueled sigma grind, but also underestimated Muichiro's abilities and Kotetsu's resilience. By the time he was ready to face Muichiro, it was too late. His hubris and underestimation of Muichiro, the swordsmiths, and the perseverance of the human spirit are what ultimately led to his downfall.
Muichiro's Mark
“For the sake of someone other than yourself, you can tap into an infinite strength.”
Remembering his past and most importantly his brother Yuichiro is what allowed Muichiro to unlock his mark. His core wound was that he as a person was worthless, which is why he adopted his brother's cold and callous attitude but upon revisiting his memories he realized that his brother never hated him and admired his kindness and even considered it as a strength that only the 'chosen ones' possessed which he tried so hard to protect it.
Nii-san did not distance himself from me on purpose, he treated me with importance even till his last breath. He said the “Mu” in Muichirou was the “Mu” in “Infinity”.
Yuichiro recognized his brother's worth and loved him for who he was, but it was his fear of losing Muichiro just like he lost his parents that caused him to lash out, to become hardened and angry. Then, when they got attacked, that was when his true feelings came out. Kindness is Muichiro's strength, when pushed to the brink, it was his brother and the need to protect him that gave him the courage to face and kill the demon.
It was also what made him save Kotetsu which in turn was what gave Kotetsu the resolve to save him too. While one might argue that he saved Kotetsu because of Tanjiro's words, I believe Tanjiro just planted the seed. It was Muichiro who decided to not just save Kotetsu but to protect him at the cost of his own life. He wouldn't have done that if he didn't have some semblance of kindness, even the most viable seed would fail to grow if the soil is dead.
Side note: When Muichiro unlocks his mark, it presents as two clouds on either side of his face. I believe that marks that manifest on the face are representative of the bearer's self-identity and perception. The fact that there are two clouds is representative of his connection to his brother, which I think is a really neat detail.
Revisiting our past and facing our trauma is hard as hell. It's probably one of the hardest things to do when undertaking therapy. While it seems comfortable to repress the trauma, doing so may also hold us back. By facing our demons and accepting the parts of ourselves that we, the people in our lives and society deem worthless, we would be able to unlock our true potential, and I think that's what the mark represents for Muichiro.
So What Does Determine a Person's Worth?
“I am no longer that Muichirou who is empty inside.”
Well nothing. Muichiro's journey of self-acceptance tells us that every one of us has inherent worth. I also believe that his story is a commentary on how boys are expected to repress their emotions from a young age. Boys are conditioned to believe that having and especially expressing traits like empathy, softness, and vulnerability is a sign of weakness, and to be weak, especially as a man, is to be worthless. The same goes for women and girls as well, where you have to display 'masculine' traits to be taken seriously.
Muichiro is a soft boy. He loves making origami airplanes, he is soft-spoken, sweet, and has adorable descriptions for his fellow Pillars even when he didn't have his memories. But he's also a badass who decimated a demon with his bare hands at 11 and became a Pillar in just 4 months. No part of him is more useful or worthier than the other, they were both instrumental in all his actions. When he realized this and his inherent worth as not just a warrior, but also a human being, was he able to achieve his full potential and most importantly to heal.
Perhaps he sensed the emotion in Muichiro's voice, because Himejima abruptly smiled. "Forget it. I don't think I need to worry after all."
In Conclusion, self-acceptance is the way to go, never underestimate anybody including yourself. No matter how weak you perceive yourself to be when the time comes for the sake of others, the people you love, and most importantly for yourself, you too can tap into infinite strength ❤🌫.

*Yay! I finally made a DS mark post! Sorry that this took so long, guys! 😖 This post went through many rewrites, fat trims and additions, like when I decided to add a 'title card' because I just love to make myself suffer. I might make edits because I'm sure there are some things I've missed and mistakes I've made, but anyway I'm glad to have released something a little substantial to start this series.

I love your Demon King Kagaya concept!💞 It's a refreshing idea to see, but where's Amane in the grand scheme of things?
Thank you! I love swap aus and I couldn't resist the concept. I'll list you the entire concept of DK Kagaya Ubuyashiki. None of this is cannon, and not everyone will be swapped out and it'll have my own twists on things. And have some things added for new story elements.
WARNINGS: Mentioning of killing, death, etc.
EDIT: If you don't agree with any of the placements or head cannons that's fine. This is only my take on things.
DEMON KING KAGAYA UBUYASHIKI:
I'm swapping out Muzan for Kagaya for this purpose. Most of the story remains the same as it did in cannon with Muzan. Kagaya is born deathly ill, he's given the medicine made with the blue spider lily, however instead of killing said doctor out of anger Kagaya is completely overjoyed and taken by the doctor's success. He wants to make MORE medicine. He wants to give this to MORE people like himself! At first the doctor accepts this. He's excited for the success of his medical treatment. However something isn't right.
Kagaya is twisted by the medicine and it's effects on his body. He begins to crave human flesh as Cannon Muzan (who I will refer to as CM), however he sees it as a greater mercy to the masses. Why live such miserable lives when you can join him? Be a part of him? Death is a mercy. Life isn't. The doctor is appalled at the way the medicine twisted Kagaya into a far worse person. (His mindset would be a similar one to Cannon Douma. Seeing it as a mercy or better fate to become a part of something bigger for the greater good overall not really seeing his twisted thinking is only harming hundreds of others and not really caring believing the end goal is worth all the bloodshed to get there.) In a fit of frustration, he attempts to turn the doctor into a demon in order to force him to make more medicine after the doctor refuses to do anymore research disgusted by the results, however as he was still fairly new to making other demons, the doctor instead dies from the infected blood. Frustrated Kagaya attempts to make the next hundreds of years perfecting his technique and turning people into demons as 'sharing his gift'.
The first few demons he attempted to create was his beloved wife Amane and his family-
He attempted to turn the rest of his family into demons too but that did not go so well. (Apparently it's cannon that Kagaya used to have two brothers). As with the doctor his youngest brother's body didn't react to him changing and Kagaya accidentally ended up killing his youngest brother. In a fit of desperation and horror, he tried again with his mother and Wife Amane who's bodies unfortunately also rejected his blood and both later died from the complications. His other brother and their father fled and went into hiding. His father later blamed himself heavily for all of the evil Kagaya does and committed seppuku. Kagaya's brother later goes on to create the demon slayer corp in search of a way to stop him. Later down the line the Ubuyashiki name is lost and replaced by the last name Kibutsuji, their bloodline cursed due to creating the first demon progenitor.
He sees his demons as 'beloved children' and as such sees what they do (eating humans, killing, etc) as nothing wrong and only as a means for survival and to spread his 'gift.' Don't underestimate him however. He may not rule by fear but his voice and mind is able to manipulate and soothe most demons into submission, and he is not afraid to use force if needed. His 12 Kizuki are the ones that he allows to eat disobedient demons if they're hungry and he does so with a warm smile on his face. It puts the fear into anyone who sees it if they aren't already loyally following him. He is also crazily strong physically and mentally.
Desperately looking for both the blue spider lily and the Kibutsuji family. He doesn't want to kill Muzan and his family per say. Merely to put a endless mercy to his beloved little brother's family's torment and free his own 'children' from theirs. Whether it be by turning them or by 'sending them to heaven' he hasn't decided yet. Created the Infinity Castle as a safe haven for his newly turned family and any demon deciding to live there.
He created the twelve Kizuki as a way to reward his most obedient 'children' and as extra protection for himself and his Queen. The lower three moons are usually killed off not by him but usually by Sanemi in anger or by slayers. Otherwise he has no problem with how the Kizuki interact. Although his favorite is Yoriichi who happens to be Upper Moon One, and his most loyal and powerful demon. He usually doesn't have any trouble blending into society thanks to his personality but he still eats, kills, and makes demons.
Because of his soothing voice and perfect manipulation skills, he's able to blend right in without much trouble. His favorites are his disguise of a sickly man or a librarian. Like cannon Muzan he has the abilities to change his appearance, gender, and looks however it's only to an extent and it's extremely painful for him to do. So usually he prefers to just purple his skin and play sick, or take on the form of teenage him to get past people.
Although he has allowed himself to be 'adopted' by families with his child form, he's never married another woman since Amanda until Y/n as he genuinely loved his wife and regrets ending her life.
He still sometimes has trouble making demons by his own hands. He's not sure why so he usually requests for his 'children' to spread his blood so he can change them via blood transfusion style....He's still having Shinobu and Kanae look into his body's imperfections.
He is absolutely, positively, 100% downright TERRIFIED of Michikatsu after almost being killed by him and legit had a massive stroke when first encountering the Tokito twins. Yoriichi is both intrigued by the thought of him still having family through his brother's descendants and worried his master will start getting PTSD from looking like his twin.
He deeply loves his new wife (Y/n) and their children. The children adore him too as he is genuinely a good father to them minus forbidding them to leave the Infinity Castle, but they don't understand why Mama Y/n is always death glaring at him and ignores him when he looks at her with a kicked puppy expression.

DEMON SLAYER PT.3
note: this is very short, im sorry but i have been really busy! school and stuff. but if yall want me to contiune, just say it in the comments!! Love you guys!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A few months had passed since that harrowing night, and life within the Demon Slayer Corps had shifted for (Y/N). Her hands, once so integral to her strength and skill as a Hashira, were now numb, the nerves damaged beyond repair by the boiling water she had poured over them. The once vibrant warrior was now a shadow of herself, burdened by the consequences of her actions.
The physical pain had subsided, replaced by a persistent numbness that served as a constant reminder of her despair. Yet, it was the emotional pain that weighed most heavily on her, a crushing sense of guilt and isolation that refused to let go. The Corps had granted her a leave of absence, a "break" they called it, though it felt more like an exile. She was no longer fighting on the front lines, no longer training with the others, no longer a part of the life she had once known.
The days blurred together in a monotonous routine of rest and reflection. She spent her time in solitude, avoiding the others as much as possible. The once proud and fierce Hashira now found herself in a place of deep introspection, haunted by the choices she had made and the impact they had on her future.
Despite the break, (Y/N) was not completely alone. Kagaya visited her often, his presence a constant reminder that she was still part of the Ubuyashiki family, despite her self-imposed isolation. His visits were quiet and gentle, filled with words of comfort and understanding, though they did little to ease the ache in her heart.
"You're still needed," Kagaya had told her during one of his visits. "The Corps is not complete without you, (Y/N). But you must heal, both physically and emotionally. Take this time to find your strength again, in whatever form it may take."
But even with his encouragement, (Y/N) struggled to find her place. Her hands, once so skilled with a sword, were now clumsy and unresponsive. The numbness made it impossible to feel the hilt of a blade, to grasp it with the strength and precision that had once defined her as a Hashira. The thought of returning to the battlefield seemed impossible, a dream that had been shattered the moment she had let that boiling water sear her skin.
Dinner with the Ubuyashiki family had become an event filled with a mixture of comfort and quiet tension for (Y/N). The warmth of being surrounded by those who cared for her was undeniable, but it was also a painful reminder of the role she could no longer fulfill. The once skilled and formidable warrior now felt awkward and out of place, her hands betraying her in even the simplest of tasks.
As they sat around the table, the younger siblings chatted cheerfully, their innocent laughter a soothing balm to the otherwise heavy atmosphere. Kagaya and Amane exchanged gentle smiles, their presence a calming influence over the household. Despite the love and acceptance that filled the room, (Y/N) couldn’t shake the feeling of inadequacy that gnawed at her.
“Big sister,” her younger brothers piped up, his voice full of trust and affection, “can you fill my cup with water, please?”
(Y/N) nodded, forcing a smile as she reached for the jug. The simple request should have been easy to fulfill, something she had done countless times before without a second thought. But as she wrapped her numb fingers around the handle, the weight of the jug felt foreign and unstable in her grip.
She tried to pour the water, her movements careful and deliberate, but her hands trembled uncontrollably. The numbness made it impossible to gauge the weight properly or to feel the coolness of the water against her skin. The liquid splashed over the rim of the cup, spilling across the table and onto her brother’s lap.
There was a moment of stunned silence as everyone at the table froze, watching the water pool and drip off the edge. (Y/N)’s heart sank, a wave of embarrassment and frustration crashing over her. She quickly withdrew her hands, staring at them with a mix of anger and despair.
“I—I’m sorry,” she stammered, her voice shaky as she struggled to maintain her composure. “I didn’t mean to…”
But before she could finish, her younger brother reached out, grabbing her hand with his small, warm fingers. “It’s okay, big sister,” he said with a reassuring smile. “It was just an accident. Don’t worry about it.”
His words were meant to comfort, but they only deepened the ache in her chest. (Y/N) felt the weight of her failure even more acutely in that moment—her inability to perform even the simplest tasks, the loss of the strength and control she had once taken for granted.
Kagaya, who had been quietly observing the exchange, reached over and gently placed his hand on hers. His touch was calm, his expression filled with understanding. “(Y/N), it’s alright,” he said softly. (Y/N) forced a smile and nodded in response to Kagaya’s comforting words, but the tightness in her chest didn’t ease.
“Thank you,” she whispered, her voice barely audible. She could feel the weight of everyone’s eyes on her, their concern like a heavy cloak she couldn’t shake off.
“I… I think I need some air,” she said, excusing herself from the table. “I’ll be back in a little while.”
Without waiting for a response, she stood and quietly slipped out of the room, the cool evening air a stark contrast to the warmth she had just left behind. She walked aimlessly at first, letting the breeze wash over her as she tried to clear her mind. Her feet eventually led her to a familiar path, one that wound its way through the trees to the training grounds where she had once spent countless hours honing her skills.
The sight of the open space brought a flood of memories, both comforting and painful. She remembered the days when her body moved with precision and strength, every swing of her blade confident and powerful. It felt like a lifetime ago. Now, she stood on the same ground, but everything felt different.
Drawn by a deep, almost desperate need to reconnect with that part of herself, (Y/N) approached the weapon rack where a row of bamboo practice swords stood. She hesitated for a moment before reaching out and grasping one of the swords. The wood was smooth and familiar in her grip, but the connection she once felt was gone. Her hands, still numb and weak, struggled to hold it properly.
Stepping into the center of the training area, (Y/N) assumed a basic stance, her feet planted firmly on the ground. She tried to recall the movements that had once come so easily, but as she swung the sword, it felt clumsy and uncoordinated. The blade sliced through the air with none of the force or precision she had once commanded.
Frustration surged within her as she tried again, and again, each attempt more desperate than the last. But no matter how hard she tried, the sword wouldn’t obey her. Her muscles ached from the effort, and the numbness in her hands made it impossible to maintain a proper grip. The bamboo sword seemed to mock her, refusing to yield even the slightest bit of damage to the air around her.
Panting from the exertion, (Y/N) finally stopped, her shoulders slumping in defeat. The sword hung limply at her side as she stared at the ground, her vision blurring with unshed tears. The realization that she was no longer the warrior she once was hit her with brutal clarity. As (Y/N) stood there, panting and defeated, she felt a familiar presence approaching. The sound of footsteps on the gravel was unmistakable, and when she looked up, she saw Kyojuro Rengoku standing at the edge of the training grounds, his usual bright smile replaced with a concerned frown.
"(Y/N)," Rengoku called out gently, taking a few cautious steps toward her. "I saw you leave the house. Are you alright?"
She stiffened at his words, her anger flaring up before she could control it. The last thing she wanted was pity, especially from someone like Rengoku, who always seemed so strong, so unbreakable. His concern felt like salt in the wound, a reminder of everything she had lost.
"I'm fine," she snapped, her voice harsher than she intended. "I don't need you or anyone else checking up on me. Just leave me alone."
Rengoku halted, his brow furrowing in confusion. "I'm not here to judge you or to pity you, (Y/N). I just—"
"I said leave me alone!" she interrupted, her tone edged with bitterness. The anger bubbling up inside her was uncontrollable, born from the frustration of her helplessness and the fear that she was truly lost. "You think you understand, Rengoku? You don't. None of you do. You've all got your strength, your purpose. I have nothing!"
Rengoku's expression softened, but the sadness in his eyes only fueled her anger further. She couldn't stand the way he was looking at her, like she was some fragile thing in need of protection. It was a far cry from the respect she had once commanded as a fellow Hashira.
"You're wrong," Rengoku said calmly, though his voice held a firm resolve. "You are more than your sword, (Y/N). You’re still needed, still valued. You don’t have to carry this burden alone."
But (Y/N) couldn't hear him. Her mind was too clouded with pain and resentment. "Stop pretending like you care!" she shouted, her voice cracking. "You're just like the others. You see me as a failure, as someone who doesn’t belong anymore. I’m just a burden to all of you!"
Rengoku's eyes widened, and he took a step closer, but she recoiled, backing away from him as if his presence alone was too much to bear. "You don’t know what it’s like," she continued, her voice trembling with the weight of her emotions. "To lose everything that ever mattered, to be left with nothing but scars and broken dreams."
Rengoku remained silent, his face a mix of sorrow and understanding. He didn't argue or try to refute her words. Instead, he simply stood there, offering his presence as a silent support, but to (Y/N), it felt like another reminder of how far she had fallen.
"I don't need you," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I don’t need any of you." Before she could take another step back, Rengoku moved swiftly and without hesitation, wrapping his strong arms around (Y/N). The warmth of his embrace was unexpected, and for a moment, she froze, stunned by the sudden contact. She could feel the steady rhythm of his heartbeat against her cheek, a stark contrast to the storm raging within her.
“I’m here, (Y/N),” Rengoku whispered, his voice gentle but firm. “You don’t have to go through this alone.”
The walls she had built around herself, brick by brick, began to crumble. All the pain, anger, and fear she had kept buried deep within her erupted to the surface. The numbness in her hands, the frustration of her helplessness, the overwhelming sense of loss—it all came crashing down like a tidal wave.
Before she could stop herself, she broke down, her body trembling as the sobs she had tried so hard to suppress finally escaped her. She clung to Rengoku, her fingers gripping the fabric of his haori as if he were the only thing keeping her from drowning in her sorrow.
Tears streamed down her face, soaking into Rengoku’s shoulder as he held her tightly, offering the support she had so desperately needed but had been too afraid to ask for. He didn’t say anything, didn’t try to offer empty words of comfort. He simply held her, letting her release all the pain she had been carrying for so long.
For the first time in what felt like an eternity, (Y/N) allowed herself to be vulnerable, to let someone else shoulder the weight of her grief. And in Rengoku’s arms, she found a small glimmer of solace amidst the darkness that had consumed her.
Rengoku continued to hold her, his embrace unwavering as she sobbed into his shoulder. His hands moved gently, one softly patting her back in a rhythmic, soothing motion, while the other cradled the back of her head, his fingers threading through her hair with a tenderness that spoke louder than any words ever could.
He understood that she needed this moment to let go, to release the pent-up anguish that had been tearing her apart from the inside. There was no rush, no urgency to pull away or to speak. Rengoku knew that sometimes, the most profound comfort came from simply being present, from offering silent support in the face of overwhelming pain.
As (Y/N) continued to cry, her sobs gradually began to quiet, her body still trembling but slowly calming under the steady reassurance of his touch. Rengoku didn’t move, didn’t break the embrace, allowing her to take all the time she needed to find her way back from the edge of despair. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Family Notes: (this gets kinda long)
Parlouzer Lore (paternal side)
Charlotte was a sailor who split her time exploring and fishing with her crew
she may or may not have been a pirate
Maurice was a skilled carpenter who worked from his home workshop in Port Mobius
he was just a humble, if a bit on the quiet side,
the two met by chance when Charlotte was exploring the area while Maurice was trying to get groceries
instantly charmed with one another, they kept in touch and she made it a point to always come back to see him every chance she could
after about 5 years of this she proposed to him and the two were married the next day
Chuck was born shortly after (honeymoon baby)
he mostly stayed on the mainland with his father while Charlotte continued working on the high seas
Julius was born when Charles was 12, and Pauline Pauli when he was 19
Chuck left for college early at 16, so he wasn’t particularly close with his younger brothers until they were practically adults
Jules ran away when he was 13 to join the circus, completely cutting off contact for nearly 5 years
At 17, he and several other members of the circus (including Argus) were arrested in Casino City after being framed for treason by a rival performance troupe. Due to their age however, the two were given an alternative to jail time: enlistment, which they begrudgingly accepted (this was HIGHLY illegal btw, as both were underage and therefore not qualified to be enlisted)
around 3 years into service, Chuck got wind of the bullshit charges placed on his brother and threatened to raise hell if the two were not brought back home immediately
Jules and Argus were then hired as a part of the Royal guard where they were charged initially with guarding King Max’s son, Crown Prince Nigel
Pauli avoided trouble growing up, having taken more after his father than his lovely, impulsive older brothers
Ihe developed a passion for piloting and decided to start his own delivery business, which would be how he would meet his future wife Bernie
Bernie
Nadim Lore
ditch the royal family part and exchange it for a powerful magic fam
Hatshe is the matriarch of a powerful magic guild, the Rising Sun, though she has retired from any official position
the Rising Sun was formed by Aman-Rapi long ago
Hatshe met Olgilvie when traveling through the Kingdom of Mercia when the then King requested the aid of the Rising Sun’s strangest magician (they had meant to request “strongest” but their had been a slight typo, luckily for them Hatshe was both)
Bastard son of a a duke, Olgilvie was knight renound for his skills with a blade as well as the strings
he was assigned to aide Hatshe in her assignment
the two did not get along initially, as both were headstrong individuals who had their own way of doing things, but eventually became friends, and later lovers
He ran off after her once her assignment had been completed and continued courting her back home
Layla is Aleena’s older sister, as well as the current leader of the Rising Sun
Though she may appear calm, collected, and regal, outside of official appearances she is a very much a dork who is not above a little mischief
she met Terios when the were children during the family’s travels
more specifically, she found his half dead body lie partway out of a river bank
he was taken in to the guild, where he showed strong promise in healing magic
childhood friends-> lovers, slowburn 160k words basically
everyone knew that they liked eachother except themselves
despite some initial mishaps, the guild has been thriving under her leadership
despite Robotnik’s efforts, their guild halls have remained hidden to him, as well as serving a safe havens for those trying to escape his reign
they work loosely with the Resistance, though Layla leaves it up to the individuals to come forwards and offer aid

hiii,
first of all I LOVE your work and your writing, it’s incredible how you capture your writing and I find your gyutaro fics to be very spicy yet creative.
I would love if you could make a college fic (or a high school fic, which ever one your comfortable with) where the reader is a shy, nerdy girl who has volunteered to work at the library during summer break at night time. As they’re working they bend over to fix the printer and get stuck or they ask gyutaro to hold some cords so they can reach into the printer to fix something inside the cabinet.
anyways use your imagination I know you wont let me down <3

Thank you so much sweet little anon! I'm glad you like my horny nonsense lol. You said you liked spicy so I took the liberty of making your request NSFW since you didn't specify, but if you had something fluff and SFW in mind please don't hesitate to tell me and I'll rewrite a version for everyone, ok? 🍬

Summer vacation was just around the corner at Kimetsu Gakuen. Some teachers would take turns to rest and to work on planning their classes and some projects for when the students had returned, some students would even take turns to support the teachers in their tasks. It was a task that no one wanted to do, besides you, the only ones who accepted were a red-haired boy with flashy earrings, another with long black hair with mint eyes and a little black-haired girl with blue eyes and a soft voice. It wasn't because your greatest desire in life was to help the teachers, you found out that extra points would be given in some subjects and that would help you maintain a good average in your classes as you did until now, besides, your mother was all day at work just like your dad so being at home all day would be quite boring.
That led you to volunteer as an assistant at the school. Principal Amane introduced you to your classmates and assigned each of them a time and place where they would be collaborating. Tanjiro would help with some repairs inside the cafeteria, Muichiro would be in the playground and gym, Makomo would be in Kimetsu Elementary, and you would be in the library. The others seemed to be very nice and they were, they all ate together with you at lunch time and as the days went by you became very close, Tanjiro even brought you all some cookies from his family's bakery. Today you would be on the afternoon shift, after another boy named Murata joined the volunteering later, you would take turns with him to help in the library. The afternoon shift was very quiet, generally you only had to organize books in their areas, clean and keep everything in its place, you even took the liberty of listening to some music on your airphones and reading a book that was of interest to you .
Today you would continue reading that romantic novel you found yesterday but when you arrived your plans changed. You entered the library with your things, it was always empty but today you found someone inside, a student. And not just any student, it was Gyutaro Shabana.
The guy was known as a delinquent within the school, he always spent time in detention or causing problems for students and teachers, especially the art teacher. Despite that, you embarrassingly had to admit that you found him quite attractive despite his reputation and everyone else thinking otherwise so your heart skipped a beat when you found him here and saw how he examined you from head to toe with one look
"H-hello," You barely said, entering and walking towards your spot at the library reception.
The boy didn't respond, he simply continued doing his thing next to a pile of books and sheets on the table, biting a pencil between his crooked teeth. You couldn't stand it, being so close to Shabana made you nervous. You tried to do anything to keep yourself busy but at the same time admire him from a distance. His hunched posture working in the chair, his blue eyes looking down and his thin fingers writing notes in hasty and poorly legible handwriting. The guy had something that made him uniquely attractive, interesting, sexy in your opinion. Doubt gnawed at you to know what he was doing here on vacation, but it wasn't until the next day that you dared to ask him.
"Summer school and shit" he replied.
Gyutaro was very intelligent but very lazy at times so that led him to get unsatisfactory grades and having to attend remedial classes during the vacations. He thought the same thing happened to you but he didn't hesitate to shamelessly mock you when you told him that you helped the school of your own free will. According to him it was the most pathetic decision he had ever seen someone make in their life. His comments were cruel like a joke but you didn't dislike it at all, you usually joke in a similar way with your closest friends so the time you started spending with Gyutaro wasn't anything new or offensive. You spent this entire week talking to him, he told you that he preferred to go to school in the afternoon since in the morning he was in charge of spending time with his sister and preparing lunch for both of them, then his mother would come home after work and she would take care of Ume while he studied here. Well, in theory, Gyutaro ended up procrastinating most of the time in the library after his math classes with Mr. Shinazugawa, on more than one occasion you found him asleep on the table, playing something on his cell phone or worse, watching videos too spicy even if you were around; you had to call his attention after a woman's moan broke out in the middle of the silence of the library when he thought his airphones were connected to his cell phone.
It was Monday again but this week you wouldn't be seeing Gyutaro because Murata would cover the morning shift, your shift was from 7:00 am - 2:00 Gyutaro's classes started at 3:00 pm then one more hour in the library until he got tired and went home so you could only talk to him via text. Yes, you gave him your contact and he gave you his, which is very unusual for him unless he really likes someone but either way neither of you ended up writing anything to the other. Embarrassment consumed you when you opened his chat so you preferred to talk to him until next week in person. Next monday arrived and you were eager to see him, your heart was beating a mile an hour and as soon as you entered you took care of greeting him and sitting next to him at the usual table, that was the same until Wednesday. On Thursday you were planning to do the same but your plans were affected. Mr. Rengoku needed some printed handouts with readings, exercises and questions for his students in the summer school History class, the man arrived with a smile before going home that day and handed you a USB with the document to to print 20 brochures for tomorrow. Each brochure had approximately 12 pages so your entire afternoon had been taken up next to the printer thanks to the young blond man with the loud voice, you got to work so you wouldn't have to stay late.
From time to time Gyutaro would get up from his chair to hover near you and ask you what the hell you were doing, why you were surrounded by sheets, a whole valley of paper around you. You explained as you organized everything on the computer and programmed the 20 copies on the printer. The device was not very recent and you had to monitor each of the sheets that came out so that it worked correctly until the most feared thing happened. The paper jammed. You tried with your life to move and fix it but the damn thing just didn't obey your orders so you swallowed your shame and went to find Gyutaro to give you a hand. Both of you examined the machine, checking inputs, cables and so on until it made a very strange robotic noise.
"Some printers open from the back, have you checked there?" Gyutaro asked while checking some cables.
"You're right, not yet." Gyutaro moved the device to give you access to the back, you leaned over the wooden furniture and began to look for a door or removable piece to unclog the paper.
Gyutaro was trying to help you by checking cables and other things until he finally got grumpy and gave up before smashing the printer against the wall. He took a couple steps back and crossed his arms as he watched you, cursing on the other side. His eyes were on the printer but then they went to your hair, to your arms moving repetitively, to your legs and the pressure that your white stockings caused on your thigh fat and then to your skirt, your butt peeking out shamelessly from under it and it seemed like you didn't know it. The movements you made made Gyutaro's mind fly much further, Shabana is an undoubtedly perverted guy and that was not a secret to anyone. A pressure began to build under his pants, colliding with the beige fabric of his uniform, making him walk towards you and was about to grab your waist with both hands, but he was interrupted by your voice.
"I got it!" You said excitedly, after hearing the printer return to work.
You sorted the paper and made sure to count the pages to resume printing, you were about to return to your chair but Gyutaro cornered you against the desk with both arms next to your hips, it made you very nervous seeing him so close.
"Wow, you have very skillful hands..." he said, smiling at you with many hints.
You didn't know what to do, were you imagining everything? Your cheeks burned in a second and something inside you made you play along.
"I know, I know how to do some things."
Gyutaro smiled mischievously at you, looked at you from head to toe and dared to caress your leg, bringing one hand to your butt under your uniform skirt.
"Really? Why don't you show me instead of bragging, huh?" He said, lifting you onto the desk with both hands, positioning himself between your legs.
Something warmed inside you, the speed in your chest made you smile back at him and grab him by the back of his neck to kiss him on the lips as he approached you. Gyutaro kissed you with desperation and inexperience but that didn't mean it didn't feel fucking good, the blue-eyed boy licked every part of your mouth, kissed your neck and left wet, hungry marks on your collarbones while making you choke on moans when he rubbed his member in the middle of your thighs.
"G-Gyutaro...someone could come." You said, trying to push him away and make him see reason.
"Do you think anyone is still here?" He scoffed. "Don't be stupid, that's why teachers offer high scores if you come to volunteer, everyone is at home while the stupid students do the work they should." He huffed between kisses on your neck.
"B-but, what if a student comes?" Your voice sounded worried despite the desire in it.
"Then they will learn not to mess with my woman."
Hearing him say that turned you on so much, you didn't know if it was because Gyutaro was also aroused that he said that but without a doubt that he claimed you as his without giving a damn about the others turned you to a pulp in his arms.
Gyutaro's hands went to your shirt to get rid of your green tie and open each of your buttons to leave more desperate, wet kisses on your breasts, leaving red marks on your soft skin and shiny trails of his hot saliva, you grabbed his shoulders and you unbuttoned his shirt too to see his torso. He looked like a very thin boy, actually, his waist was quite small but his chest and arms were very strong. You brought both hands to his chest and caressed him sensually, lightly running your nails over him and playing with his nipples while he devoured you with kisses and nibbled you, with his hands never leaving your butt under your skirt for a second, playing with the lace of your panties. You leaned a little to kiss his neck and trapezius, Gyutaro's collarbones were very pronounced and while you licked his skin in the middle of kisses, you moved your hands towards his back to grab his butt and try to put your hands under his pants but he quickly stopped you. He grabbed both your hands tightly and didn't allow you to move forward.
"I thought you wanted me to show you my skills," you told him, mockingly.
"I changed my mind. I'll show you, okay?" He spoke firmly and authoritatively, making your panties wet.
Gyutaro brushed the hair from your neck and kissed your shoulders roughly until he slowly pushed you to lie down on the desk, leaving your legs dangling. Your hands tangled in his greenish curls, you couldn't help but moan at every touch of his long fingers, he lifted your skirt up to the top of your thighs and began to unbutton his belt and pants until he left his naked member exposed. Looking down and noticing how big he was, the blue eyed boy spit into his palm and began pumping his cock so it dripped more between his fingers, eager to fill you completely. Seeing the "V" shaped lines on Gyutaro's abdomen just above his member made you shiver with pleasure, just below his navel you could see a small trail of black hair. You desperately hoped that Gyutaro would take off your panties or you would do it yourself but when you saw his hand reach towards your core and feel his fingers sliding down your slit it was a much bigger relief. Gyutaro was aware of the risk that someone could get in, so he decided to leave your panties in place and just move them to the side with his index finger, watching with desire how wet you were and how you filled his fingers with small, slippery transparent threads.
"I bet you're really tight." He told you, licking his fingers and pulling your panties aside again.
Gyutaro stimulated your hole with his fingers with a couple of movements but when he felt your soft walls taking him warmly, his ambition made him take his cock and insert it directly into you, making you moan loudly, arching your back, instinctively opening your legs wider to receive him. You could feel Gyutaro stretching you, your moans accompanied his gasps and the sound of the printer doing its job, your uniform was a complete hindrance to both of you until you changed positions and Gyutaro put you face down on the desk. He entered you again and gave you a couple of spanks making you gasp his name.
"I love how you beg for me, you nerdy little bitch." He hissed, drunk with pleasure.
Gyutaro's moans were increasing, he took the audacity to lower his hands to your chest and put both hands inside your bra to massage your breasts while he fucked you. Your legs fought to keep you firm but each thrust weakened you more, you felt your clit throb and your hole get wetter and wetter until a lot of wet sounds filled the library, sweat ran under your knees and you felt drops running between your thighs without stopping, you didn't know if they were your juices. You clenched roughly making Gyutaro moan and curse, picking up speed as you were hit by your orgasm, an electrifying and abundant one that left you trembling beneath him, creating a slippery ring around Gyutaro's cock inside your swollen pussy. You were empty-minded, blinded by lust until you suddenly felt empty all of a sudden. You looked back and realized that Gyutaro had cum all over your thighs and part of the desk. So he pulled out of you before his orgasm.
Gyutaro was agitated just like you, his chest rising and falling and his bangs falling messily over his sweaty forehead, the perfect feeling of your tight pussy still had him seeing stars. You composed yourself and organized your panties and uniform, you noticed that even the 20 pamphlets had finished printing so you reluctantly organized them to finish stapling them tomorrow.
Your face began to burn, becoming aware of what had just happened, you didn't know if Gyutaro had done this because he was simply horny or because he actually liked you. It was something that you would analyze with your pillow tonight so you preferred to say goodbye to him briefly.
"See you tomorrow." You said, grabbing your things.
Gyutaro didn't say anything, he left his backpack where it was and began to walk towards you without taking his eyes off you, for a second you thought he was going to kill you until he took you by the waist and gave you a kiss on the lips, slowly and delicious making you melt again.
"We just fucked and that's all you're saying?" He scoffed, making you blush. "I love you as much as I love your pussy, stupid girl. At least say 'thank you' or some shit."
"I-I... me too- i mean...ok."
Gyutaro couldn't help but laugh at your inability to speak and the deep red painting your face, he finds you very adorable. "Next time we can do it completely naked, okay?" Gyutaro said, giving you a small spank.
That night he offered to take you home on his motorcycle.

I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS ABOUT THE FINALE AND I MUST SHARE THEM
Okay, to preface I want to say that I have been very ambivalent about the current KNY season. I can understand both sides of the mixed reception, one declaring that Ufotable is padding things out too much, the other saying that this is perfect to flesh out slice-of-life character moments that weren't present in the manga. Me, I find myself agreeing with both sides and have been having mixed feelings. Either way I've kept watching.
So the finale just dropped. And oh my gosh. It's so. Fucking. Good. I loved it — and not just because of the animation, which was bonkers this episode and obviously one of its main highlights. But I'm not here to talk about that.
The narrative was SO good.
From the moment Muzan meets Ubuyashiki, he calls him hideous. This is very important. Their entire meeting this episode revolved around their different ideologies — Muzan believes in the beauty of immortality, while Ubuyashiki believes that true immortality stems from human bonds and wills. He makes an excellent point: after he dies, the Demon Slayer Corps will continue to thrive, if not rally harder against Muzan because of their bonds and Ubuyashiki's legacy.
If Muzan dies, everything he stands for ends with him.
Look at Muzan. He's beautiful. He is unblemished and young and Amane even describes his physical appearance out loud. In contrast — Ubuyashiki is, well, not looking great. His skin is scaly and he's covered in bandages and he's coughing blood. That's the point. Mortality can be ugly. People decay, people die, but what matters is that their bonds and traditions live on forever. That's literally the definition of culture in our real world today.
During the climax, we see that. We see Muzan stripped of his beauty again and again, to reveal all that monstrosity beneath his skin before his beauty is restored.
Meanwhile we don't see those demonic visuals with Ubuyashiki and his family — because they died and disappeared into nothing in the fire. We don't see their skin stripped away, their eyeballs bulging from raw muscle, nothing. They moved on with grace. Mortality can appear ugly on the surface, and immortality beautiful, but the author is trying to tell us it's the OPPOSITE if we look deeper.
Is this a groundbreaking theme? Hell no. There's nothing subversive or unique about this, and that's perfectly fine. There is a reason Demon Slayer is so popular, and part of it aside from the animation is, ironically and unbelievably, the story. Because simple storytelling can also be incredible if executed right, and Gotouge knocked this out of the park.
Man, just seeing all the Hashira pull up to attack Muzan, Gyomei being entrusted by Ubuyashiki to pull Ubuyashiki's scheme off, Tamayo showing up (really ties up her debut this season) and weaponising the Blood Demon Art from the man Muzan carelessly turned into a demon in S1 was so good. Time and time again, Muzan has done things at his whim without giving a shit about the consequences because he doesn't think there are any. He says so himself — that he doesn't face retribution.
He was wrong. Everything he did caused a ripple effect that led back to him. I loved how Gyomei's backstory last episode tied in with his respect and love for Ubuyashiki this episode. How Ubuyashiki saving him from prison sealed Gyomei's loyalty to him and how this bond lived on in Gyomei with his entrance against Muzan. I loved how Ubuyashiki's character was portrayed. He's not physically strong, he's not a swordsman, but he's a leader, a conveyer of wills, a symbol, and we felt how he conveyed his message to his Demon Slayers and to Muzan in this finale. He had to die to expound his message.
He was the perfect foil to Muzan's character (Muzan, who was also born sickly but went down a different path, who clung to immortality rather than accepting his death) and he truly went out with a bang. RIP.
This may not be a perfect season for everyone. But I am so fucking glad it happened anyway. I can't wait for Infinity Castle. I can't believe this episode was so phenomenal when we haven't even gotten into the peak of the series (the movies).

Muichiro x wife reader
I understand that Muichiro is young but come on who doesn’t want to be his wife or girlfriend
Like just imagine that Muichiro and the reader are childhood best friends then they fell in love and the reader asked Muichiro twin if it’s okay to one day marry Muichiro he said yes before the Damon attacked them they had a mini wedding 😭
Fast forward after the attack
They agreed to keep their marriage secret until one day the reader’s village is attack and she is the only survivor of the massacre. Muichiro and her kept in touch (so she knows that Muichiro is a hashira and his memory problem but he still’s remembers reader as his wife) so she shows up during a hashira meeting ( talking about the massacred village and Muichiro knows that’s the village that his wife was living in and is worried that she might have gotten killed because Ubuyashiki said there were no survivors in the village) bloody and exhausted from traveling. So when reader shows up she passes out and informs Shinobu about the lady that passed out Shinobu asked to show them what she looks like but when they show her what they look like they saw reader and then Muichiro said “that’s my wife” and everyone is just shocked
Omg yes ! I love your idea !! It's so cuteee ~~ lets all just pretend he is old enough to get married. I mean like I agree, who wouldn't want to be his girlfriend or wife anyway. 🥰
Accidental revealation
Muichiro x wife reader
ANYWAYS, I'm sure you know what the story is about from reading what my dear reader had asked me ~
Also, please pretend yuichiro is alive in this fanfic
Ehe~
You would always drag yuichiro along to play with the both of you, muichiro always had to touch you somehow, be it holding your hand, tugging through hem of your shirt, or even hugging you.
You didn't mind how close he was. You actually enjoyed his physical contacts and how clingy he was to you. Yuichiro found himself wanting to tease the both of you for all the physical contacts and how close the both of you always were to each other. Ever since the parents of the trio of you died, you've lived together with muichiro and yuichiro since then. Yuichiro has changed while muichiro tried to remain positive towards him. When lady amane came to see the twins, you overheard them saying something about slaying demons, the same kind that killed the parents of the trio of you. And that both the twins were from a family that were from the sengoku era.
They accepted the offer as they had nothing left to do at all. You watched as muichiro and yuichiro trained all day, not once even resting. They would sometimes skip meals just to train. You always had to force them to eat because of that.
The both of them eventually became a hashira. You were happy for them, and they would often visit the village you live in to give you gifts or small trinkets. You were actually surprised when muichiro bought you to a place under the trees and watched the moon from below. You were fascinated by the sight of how big the moon is.
Until muichiro said to you " the moon is beautiful...isn't it ? " then were you shocked. You knew that both you and muichiro knew the meaning behind it. So you didn't really expect him to say it to you. Muichiro then averted his gaze away from yours as his cheeks blushed a bright red.
For those of you who don't know, the phrase " the moon is beautiful, isn't it ? " is actually a way of saying I like you or I love you in Japanese. 💙
The both you of fell more in love with each other and started dating soon after. Muichiro would always bring yuichiro along to give you small trinkets or ornaments as a little gift. You would always give him a kiss on the cheek after. Soon, yuichiro bought up the idea of marriage as he knew that the duo ( you and muichiro ) would never cheat on each other.
Both you and muichiro held a small wedding as to respect yuichiro's wishes and only invited yuichiro. After the wedding, the trio of you promised to keep the wedding a secret. Not wanting to reveal that you and muichiro are married together.
Fast forward.
The village you were living in was attacked by a horde of demons. You managed to escape as your senses had told you to, you were injured but managed to make it near the ubuyashiki mansion.
The village you lived in was close to the ubuyashiki mansion okay 😭
Muichiro wad devasted as he heard about the news of the befall of the village you lived in and that there were no survivors. Yuichiro tried to calm his brother down but his own tears even started to flow out of his eyes.
Ubuyashiki could only look at the two children there crying helplessly as he sighed because he knew he couldn't do anything to bring the dead back alive. It was then when someone found your unconscious body outside of the mansion and had informed shinobu of it.
Shinobu told her to take the body inside and after they did, muichiro gasped as he stated to everyone " that's my wife. " Everyone was in shock that muichiro was married and that you were alive. Yuichiro face palmed and whispered to him that he was told to keep it a secret.
Muichiro gasped as he forgot about it. But what's done cannot be undone. You were treated immediately at the butterfly mansion and when you woke up, you noticed muichiro and yuichiro looking down at you worriedly. Muichiro then kissed you as he couldn't bear it any longer. You knew that you had made them worried about you and how worried muichiro was at the intense of his kiss.
You could only kiss back and pat his head. Signalling that you are alright and is in good hands.

chemical imbalance
L x gn! reader | fluff
a/n: i want to cause a chemical imbalance in his brain so badly
“it seems like you have caused a chemical imbalance within my body.”
your head whipped towards L at his random outburst. it wasn’t unusual for the man to ignore social cues, or be wholly inept and unaware of the clues at all, but this sentence felt different.
“ryuzaki, what,” you questioned, putting down some files regarding the third kira, “is this your way of saying you suspect me of being the second kira again? we have already proven misa was the second kira.”
if this were another accusation, you would probably rip your hair out of frustration. you suspected light of being the first kira - more like knew he was after he randomly gained misa amane as a “girlfriend.” understandably, your connection to light made the notorious L wary of you being the second kira - the idea of childhood friends sticking together wasn’t one he could rule out. thankfully, misa’s sudden appearance cleared your name - though, the detective wanted you to stay with the task force for the time being to prove you had zero relation to the case. L also valued the fact that you could push your emotions aside and try to help solve the case, something he grew to appreciate more when soichiro finally accepted your word against light’s and viewed his son as a possibility.
“frankly speaking, the likelihood of you being kira at some point in time will never be completely zero,” L calmly stated, his teeth barely brushing against his calloused thumb, “however, this is not directly about the kira case.”
“oh?”
you couldn’t help but tilt your head slightly, wondering what he meant. it wasn’t unheard of for you to be stumped by the man deemed the world’s greatest detective (the world’s top three greatest detectives apparently) but something told you this was different. to be honest, you didn’t even think he had the capacity or desire to think about anything beyond the kira case. he spent dollar after dollar, risked life and limb, and even resorted to morally grey techniques to get this far…the idea of him focused on anything else seemed absurd.
“my ventral tegmental area started producing dopamine around you.”
“uhm,” you hummed aloud, “am i supposed to understand what you mean?”
the detective only let his shoulders sag even more, seemingly annoyed he had to explain to you further. L greatly understood that there was a price for everything but he couldn’t help but feel aggravated at times when he had to explain himself. it was an easy deduction in his mind, one so simple that an explanation shouldn’t be needed. there was also a nagging in his mind that was not from intellectual superiority. a nagging that felt like he shouldn’t explain himself for fear of actually being understood. logically, it made sense for him to want to fault you for the feelings that have risen inside of him but his heart was suddenly trying to sway the detective’s reasoning. human emotions are such fickle things, always hindering the logical capabilities of the species is capable of.
sentience lies within emotions. that is what made humans scientifically the better species, as many researchers like to argue, but L felt as if it was the opposite. his owlish eyes only glinted in them when he knew he has won a game, his childish nature only appearing at times when others would deem it insignificant. L did not need emotions to hinder him. he saw the way soichiro looked over at his son with loving eyes and a strong sense of familial connection, completely ignoring the fact that his son is a likely candidate for the world’s most wanted. L did not want to be blinded by emotion, but it was not in his nature to go down feebly.
“dopamine plays a huge role in addiction miss y/n. it jumps from each of our neurons and builds a pathway for the stimuli to take over our whole brain. then the nucleus accumbens increases the production of dopamine. this causes the adrenal gland to become active which manufactures adrenaline and norepinephrine; our flight or fight response is now present - though i suppose it is now flight, fight, freeze, fawn, or submit. do you understand where i am leading,” L tilted his head, his owlishly dark eyes gazing straight at yours.
you honestly understood maybe seventy-five percent of what he said at most. you would look around the room to get help from others — a common occurrence as no one could keep up with the eccentric detective — but it was just you and L present at the moment. typically, these small moments between the two of you were interrupted by a discovery or watari bringing snacks to help the both of you focus. you liked the idea of the aloof man beside you speaking and interacting like normal, as normal as he can get, but you were beginning to feel a little frustrated by his statements. for one, they made you feel incredibly stupid as you couldn’t process the words he was saying at the speed at which he did. secondly, you were close to finding a link to the third kira but that was now lost in your mind as the detective managed to garner all your attention. and lastly, you were irritated by how pretty he seemed to be with the blue light from the screens radiating off his ghostly pale skin. the man who, although justified, is aiming to put her best friend behind bars. the man who uses moral grey but legal techniques to gain victory. the man who probably saw her as a pawn, maybe even a bishop if she was lucky, in this chess match constructed by him and light… the man who was beside you. this wasn’t a place for emotions but would you be human if you didn’t seem to show immense sentience at the worst times?
“ryuzaki, please speak japanese or even english - just not whatever this is,” you sighed exasperatedly.
L moved his thumb from his bottom lip and let out a small sigh, “you are clouding my judgment. when you are around, my frontal lobe doesn’t seem to be occupying at full capacity even when i sit the way i do. my amygdala seems broken; the idea of you being kira in any sense seems to be statistically plausible yet i cannot fathom it. you are hindering my detective work and my capabilities - though, i do not anticipate it as purposeful which is more frustrating. i think it would be safe to assume i have feelings for you.”
“romantic feelings ryuzaki? or platonic? no offense,” you started, seeing his eyes analyze your every move, “but you don’t seem like the type to be able to tell the difference.”
“if it was strictly platonic, my frontal lobe and amygdala would not be as hindered. it seems more plausible to me that these feelings are romantic.”
you could only stare at him, unaware of the heat rising to your face and your hands playing with themselves. you both knew this was not the time to build strong emotional attachments to one another but who were you at your core if not someone who yearned for affection?
“based on your reaction, i assume you feel the same way…or at least aren’t appalled by the idea,” L turned back towards the screen, a ghost of a smile on his lips, “we do not have to do anything about this at the moment, I rather have us both be safe from kira before we try to progress or discuss anything between us.”
you simply nodded before looking back at the files on the yotsuba group, pretending to focus as you try to gaze at the detective from the corner of your eyes. this wasn’t the time for romance but you both would try and make the time available as soon as possible. however, for now, you two would enjoy the comfort of knowing the feelings were mutual and that at the end of this path, someone would be waiting for you with open arms.
