Spoilers if you haven't seen the episode

To start things off we meet Kara on Earth! I talked more about her here. Shes's dressed similarly to Android 18 when she, 17, and 16 drive to Goku's house in episode 147 of Dragon Ball Z. While watching the episode I was wondering why does Kara's hair look so familiar? Then it hit me. Kara's got Sakuya Kumashiro's hair from Tenchi in Tokyo!

Shout out to recent DC characters enjoy ice cream for the first time like Wonder Woman in the live action movie and Justice League animated movie, and the new DC Super Hero Girls cartoon. As a mint chocolate chip ice cream fan, good first choice of ice cream to enjoy!

Perry puts Clark and Lois on a new beat for the Metropolis "Most Eligible Single" contest because Superman was chosen to be one of the five up for that title. Cat Grant self-invites herself to join the duo to figure out who Superman is through his love life. Lois is sweating bullets at this point. At the contest we meet the potential people for winning the title, Hank Henshaw, Chandi Gupta, Byrna Brilyant, and Silver St. Cloud. I talked more about Hank Henshaw here. We see a darker more bigoted side to him this time around. Will we see him get his cyborg body and become Cyborg Superman in this season or season 3? Who knows. Season 3 is confirmed though.

Dr. Byrna Brilyant is a very deep DC universe cut dating back to 1946, the golden age of comics. Back then Byrna Brilyant was an enemy to Wonder Woman going by the moniker, Blue Snowman.

Byrna in the 1940s makes her first appearance in Sensation Comics #59 (1946) [W: Joye Hummel, P&I: H.G. Peter], where she was a teacher who's father created this compound called blue ice, after his death, she uses it as a way to extort this town after freezing it over for monetary gain.

Byrna makes another appearance in 2010 in Power Girl #7 (2010) [W Justin Gray & Jimmy Palmiotti, P&I: Amanda Conner, C: Paul Mounts, L: John J. Hill] where Dr. Mid-Nite and Power Girl are trying to stop Byrna from committing a robbery but the main bad guy, Vartox shoots a seduction musk rifle at Power Girl but the smell knocks out Dr. Mid-Nite and it works on Byrna, but not Power Girl. This all makes more sense if you read the comic.

Byrna's next appearance post-New 52 was in Superman/Wonder Woman #4 (2014) [W: Charles Soule, P: Paulo Siqueira, I&C: Hi-Fi, L: Carlos M. Mangual] where we see Wonder Woman and Hessia battling the Blue Snowman robots.

Byrna's latest appearance post-DC Rebirth is in DC: Love is a Battlefield #1 (2021) [W: Crystal Fraiser, P&I: Juan Gedeon, C:Ulises Arreola, L: Marshal Dillion, where Byrna is now gender fluid after interrupting a date between Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor. Good on Wonder Woman for letting them go and hoping the realization there is a word for what Byrna was feeling would make them feel much better. So going forward if we meet Byrna again, I'll be referring to them with they/them pronouns, but if its New 52 continuity and before, Byrna will be referred to with she/her pronouns with the continuities to help clarify the pronoun usages.

Chadi Gupta is also another deep cut from the DC universe because she's reference to her comic counterpart from Justice League Europe.

Chandi makes her first appearance in Justice League Europe #47 (1993) [W: Gerard Joes, P: Ron Randall, I: Randy Elliot, C: Gene D'Angelo, L: Willie Schubert] where she's escaping her family and comes across the the JLE and wants to join them. Her energy projection and construct creation powers came in handy for the JLE in issue 50 where she and the rest of the JLE were able to fend off Sonar's attack and that earned her a spot on Justice League Europe as the superhero Maya.

Silver St. Cloud is probably one of the more prominent characters from the DC universe who showed up in MAwS. She got into the pop culture zeitgeist through the Gotham tv show when it aired.

Silver St. Cloud makes her first appearance in Detective Comics #470 (1977) [W: Steven Engleheart, P: Walter Simonson, I: Al Milgrom, C: Jerry Serpe, L: Ben Oda] where she meets Bruce Wayne at a party on his yacht. She eventually becomes one of Bruce Wayne's more prominent love interests and one of the few who were suspecting Bruce to be Batman thanks to his constant disappearing.

She shows up in post-new 52 in the maybe possibly out of cotinuity anthology, Legends of the Dark Knight (2014) digital comics, specifically as a cameo in issue #50, Dr. Quinn's Diagnosis [W: Jim Zub, P&I: Niel Googe, C: Kathryn Layno, L: Saida Temofonte], where Batman is getting psychoanalyzed by Harley Quinn.

If you want to read a comic with a fun appearance of Silver St. Cloud give Batman/Elmer Fudd Special #1 (2017) [W: Tom King, P&I: Lee Weeks, C: Lovern Kindzierski, L: Deron Bennet] a read cuz goddamn is it noir AF and beautifully drawn (a while back DC superheroes crossed over with Looney Tunes characters and its very good. They have also done it with Hanna Barbera characters as well. Give those a read too! They're all fun!)!

The charity that MAwS Silver mentions was first mentioned in Superman #152 (1967) [W: Bill Finger, P&I: Al Plastino] where Superman is accepting a clock medallion for a charity event. In the comics Silver St. Cloud isn't usually working for charities, shes mostly a Gotham socialite.

At the event, the MC (who gives off Funky Flashman vibes imo), asked if anyone has questions and the first to jump on that was George Taylor of the Metropolis Star. I talked about the Metropolis Star here, but for George Taylor...

he actually makes his first appearance here in Action Comics #1 (1938) [W: Jerry Seigel, P&I: Joe Shuster, C: Strauss Engraving Company] where he is the editor-in-chief of the Daily Star.

In the silver age, George Taylor makes his first appearance in Superman #366 (1981) [W: Bob Eozakis, P: Kurt Schaffenberger, I: Frank Chiaramonte, C: Adrienne Roy, L: John Costanza] where he assigns Perry White on the Superboy scoop to see if he's active in Metropolis. In post-Crisis on Infinite continuity, George makes a cameo appearance in Adventures of Superman #451 (1989) [W,P,&I: Jerry Ordway, C: Glenn Whitmoore, L: Albert DeGuzman] where we see George's office door.

In the New 52 continuity, George Taylor makes his first appearance in Action Comics #8 (2012) [W: Grant Morrison, P: Rags Morales, I: Rick Bryant, C: Brad Anderson, L: Pat Brosseau] as editor-in-chief for the Daily Star where in the comic he's proud of Clark and encourages him to take the job at the Daily Planet.

Kara and Jimmy make it into the studio where Lois, Superman, and Cat Grant are and Kara confronts Superman showing off that she's the one in the armor. She is on a two-way radio communications with someone named Primus. Whether that is Brainiac's designation when Kara is on the field or its a different character all together, there is a Primus in the DC universe, not just in the Transformers universe. Btw this isn't Kara's first time siding with an evil faction, she was part of Darkseid's Female Furies in the 2004 Superman/Batman series, specifically in issue #11. You might have also seen it happen in the Superman/Batman: Apocalypse animated movie too.

Primus aka Pren makes his first appearance in Green Lantern #141 (1981) [W: Marv Wolfman, P&I: Joe Stanton, C: Carl Gafford, L: John Costanza] where he is the leader of the alien group, the Omega Men from the Vega star system. They jump Hal when he and Carol Ferris were on vacation thinking Hal is part of the Citadel, an extraterrestrial empire that is conquering the star system the Omega Men are in.

Primus/Pren NuParr makes his New 52 first appearance in Deathstroke #9 (2012), but gets a more prominent role in the Omega Man limited series from 2015 [panel from The Omega Men #1 (2015) W: Tom King, P&I: Barnaby Bagenda, C: Romulo Farjardo Jr., L: Pat Brosseau]. In this continuity, the Citadel is now a corporation that was exploiting Krypton's destruction by by selling stabilized planet cores to other worlds. This comes at a cost where the Vega star system is enslaved by them and those who resisted we killed and the survivors formed the Omega Men.

Dear future self... March 6, 2023

I was really excited to write this weekend and then I woke up quite grumpy today. I was really tired, I feel like I haven’t been sleeping the best even though I slept in Sunday morning as we went to the later Church Service. Work today pissed me off. Rod is driving me nuts, payables is overbearing and after a frustrating day Dillion just topped it all off. The ignorance he has is so frustrating. He knew exactly what he was getting into when he signed the lease, we all agreed that regardless, we were all splitting the utilities 3 ways. It didn’t matter if I were to go on holiday for 2 or more weeks, or he be working for two weeks, or Cody be house sitting for two weeks. You pay or portion because everything is split. Now to come back and tell me that it’s not fair that he’s paying for March utilities when he’s the one that is breaking the lease, he’s the one who put us in a position of having to find someone ASAP which fine, yes someone’s taking over when he said he’d be out by but it’s not my problem that he’s not coming back this month to “use the utilities”. For fuck sakes we signed an agreement, everything split. If eh wanted to be out by Febraury 28th he should have just arranged that and had Bob move in March 1st so he was paying. But for him to literally throw a fit that it’s not right that he’s paying and then go on to say how he’s paying more rent... like are you fucking kidding me? Because you have the master and ensuite, no shit you pay more when you wanted it that way. Not to mention that I pay the pet fee and I clean up after his fucking dog, I look after his dog when he leaves her for over 24 hours at a time, I clean up after him, I always arrange for his damn room to be clean before he’s home, I clean his fucking bed sheets, I clean the mess he leaves every single time he’s here, all I do is fucking help this shit head. Pick him up from the airport when he didn’t get on his flight, help him with every thing he constantly begs for help on, fills out his fire arms renewal forms, pick up his mail like for fuck sake what the fuck do I get in return? I get nothing. I maybe get taken out for Sushi for all the shit that I do for him yet he does absolute fuck all for me in return ever, for anything. He’s the most self centered man. This last time around, Cody really explained things better on how he is and no one is ever impressed with him. All he does is look out for himself and fuck everyone else around him. No offence but no fucking wonder he has no friends, because all he does is take. & then he has the audacity to be an asshole and say cry me a river. Fuck that. Fuck that friendship it’s over. I was so angry when I got home today. I’ve cooled down now but seriously I want nothing to do with him. I don’t care, I’m done. I’m literally done helping that kid, he doesn’t deserve all the shit that I do for him.  Anyways. Rant over. The rest of last week was good. I finally had a few down days where I just watched shows and stuck to myself. I needed that time. The last few weeks have been so insanely busy with back to back things that I felt like any downtime that I had, I just shut down and didn’t want to talk to anyone, just needed space. I feel a bit more refreshed now though. Recap of last week - Wednesday went to Jeremiah’s for a movie night with Steven, Amanda and Christian which was good. Thursday Jeremiah came over with Theo so he could check out the place and feel comfortable. Nova and him played so well, it was so nice to see how quick she took to him so that was really great. Went to a sushi place called Nupo with Sasha & her friend which was really nice. It was a fancy place, food was amazing. It was good company, I enjoy them and we had a good time. Probably not a regular hang out vibe I think but nice to get together every few weeks with her.  Saturday morning I decided to go out to Cochran for a walk and then ended up going out to Canmore for a good part of the day. Nova’s leg has been sore lately and she’s been limping off and on so I didn’t want to push it but she acted like nothing was wrong so I scooted to Canmore because it was so nice out. Went over to Grassi Lakes for once, it was cool cause I stopped to take a photo & a girl was just sitting down staring out & I struck up convo with her. Ended up sitting and chatting with her for probably 15-20 minutes which was really nice and we swapped IG’s as she’s from Toronto but has a big love for the mountains. Saturday night Jeremiah invited me for beers at Marda Loop Brewing with some of his English friends which was also a good night. Had fun and good conversation, good laughs. Sunday went to the late church service, as always it was so good. Worship keeps getting me in the feels. Came home & Jeremiah dropped Theo off for a few hours, took them to the park and they had a lot of fun, they did really well. I know Nova get’s this pack mentality that she has to protect whatever dog she’s with but she also is so much more out going, she actually will go run and follow the dog she’s with and visit with other dogs so it’s nice to see. I do love her more than anything. Went over to Ambers sunday night for a games night. She’s got such a cute place with her BF and I finally got to meet Evee. I love those dogs, they’re so sweet. & love that girl. They made dinner and we played Settlers with her brother & his GF, it was really such a nice night. It was a great week really. I feel like I’ve been having so much more of those now this year and it’s nice. I mean, I got in my head the other night about Jeremiah. After Saturday night I got into thinking & wondering if he’s just inviting me out because he feels bad that I’m watching Theo for nothing & that’s his “return” is inviting me out. Idk. I want to think that’s my anxiety and my lack of confidence. Again I know none of these are dates, I really don’t think he thinks of me like that anyways but saturday night was really just me, him and this english girl & guy so I mean I know he doesn’t have to invite me to any of these things, let alone out side of hanging with Steven because that’s how we originally got to know each other but he has continued inviting me out so it’s nice. I know he has a lot of friends so really it’s just nice to meet new people and slowly build community. Anyways. I’m tired and I have to be up early as Theo’s coming over tomorrow again for the day so it’ll be a busy day. I continue to look forward to this month and next as friendships keep unfolding and as I continue to not turn down opportunity. It’ll be interesting to see where I am in 6 months from now. Glad I have this space for writing. It really does help me gather and let out my thoughts. I remember re-reading last years post and it really was full of emotion. I wrote some frustrated, angry messages about Richardt & men (mostly because their stupid duh) but some sad about missing my brother but had some good happy moments too. It’s nice to be able to write that all out and be able to later reflect on it. Will I feel like I overreacted by next week, a month, 6 months from now with this Dillon thing? Idk. I guess we’ll see, but as of right now that bridge is burned and in my eyes there’s not really any friendship left. Mostly because there wasn’t really much of a friendship before except a one sided giver & taker.

I'm really sad after looking more into Amanda Palmer and what disgusting and horrifying things she has done because the Critical Role team are so positive and supportive of her and giving her a platform with Between the Sheets, and I can't help think that they put either entertainment or money above morals here.

So what if they love her music, doesn't change her shit actions that she doesn't even seem to ever apologize for. Also, this is NOT her only recent public interview, she was recently on the podcast "conversations with people who hate me" by Dillion Marron to talk to someone who hated her. I think she is on a PR tour right now, trying to use these people to gain her own credibility back and be self centered. It's sickening and it feels like they either fell for it or just want the cash. Do they REALLY not know ANY of this about her???

It's even more heartbreaking and concerning that she's Neil Gaiman's wife... why are people like Gaiman and the Critical Role team (and even Dillion Marron!!!), people that I appreciate and look up to, associated positively with a woman who faked her own suicide to get a rise out of her recovering drug addict boyfriend, and said disgusting ableist things all with the excuse of it being art???

"Art" shouldn't cause purposeful emotional abuse and trauma that leads to an actual suicide years later, and she USED the audio of her boyfriend finding her "dead" body in her music.

Couple’s Holiday, Getting Dicked Good and Monster Girls

Uhh so as usually, when I’m most stressed I write and lately I’ve been reallyyyyyyyyy feeling some Ed Sheeran story so I wrote this. It’s just short and silly and yeah. Just blah. I know I haven’t written anything for tumblr in a while and my AO3 is kind of dead but its cause I let a snide comment get to me plus I’ve been super busy with finishing up college so. Anyways enough rambling. Here’s my first Ed fan fic in a long time. And yes, I used my name cause I’m lazy and selfish and needy for Ed. 

"Babe?"

"YEAH?" amanda shouted from her position on the couch, which was currently upside down, legs on the head rest and head on the foot rest.

"Why are you yelling?" Ed asked not looking up from his phone as he entered the condo he had rented for the holidays. 

"Oh sorry, thought you were farther away. All the blood is rushing in my ears and it's kinda hard to hear."

"What the hell are you doing?" Ed asked finally looking up to see his girlfriend sitting the complete wrong way with her head nearly touching the floor.

"I dunno, what are youuu doing?" Amanda grinned back. They had been staying at a luxury condo in Colorado Springs for the past 2 weeks and she was getting antsy. While it was supposed to be a holiday vacation, Ed had gotten together with a few music buddies and of course, being Ed, had worked the whole 2 weeks. She didn't mind, she loved seeing him happy and working but still… antsy.

"Wanna go to a party tonight?" Ed checked his phone again as it dinged.

"Hmmmmm what kinda party? We takin party hard party? Rave party? Club party? Pub/dive bar party? You gotta fill a girl in here, ginger boy" amanda rolled over so she was sprawled on the long couch laying on her stomach, her feet kicking in the air.

"Oh I'll fill a girl alright!" Ed wiggled his eyebrows and quickly pocketed his phone so his hands were free to grab Amanda's sides and tickle her. "Fill her right up with my ginger cock is what i’ll do!"

"Edward!" Amanda squealed and wiggled trying to get away. Or maybe get closer, it could be hard to tell sometimes. "You're so lewd!" 

"Aye but you love it" ed said as he nuzzled his nose against her cheek, his body now laying fully on top of hers.

"Nah, i love you" amanda said while pushing her hips up to rub against his groin.

Ed nearly growled at the friction. "Babe before we start, do you want to go out tonight? It'll be club and my friends will be there" ed explained as he trailed kisses behind her ear and down her neck.

"Oh" amanda said softly trying to focus. "Which friends?"

"Hmm?" Ed mumbled while he rested back on his hunches and started to push up Amanda's top.

"Ed which friends are going to be there tonight?" Amanda asked a little more firmly.

"Uh, I don't know, probably Dillion and JB and Dia and…" ed listed off a few others.

Amanda felt her heart sploot a little, these were definitely not her types of people. "Uh, why don't you just go. I know you'll have a lot more fun without me to be your ball and chain" saying a little more cheerfully than necessary.

"You don't want to go? Is it cause of Justin? You know he's grown up now. Just like I did." Ed says seriously, all future sexy times are thrown out the window.

Sighing amanda scooted out from under ed so she could sit properly. "I know ed but i just don't enjoy his company not to mention a few others you mentioned would be there. You know that's not my scene anyways. Id just be awkward and distract you from having a good time. Go have fun with your friends. Seeing them is just as important as seeing me or seeing family."

"Dear god I love you" ed said, cupping Amanda's cheek and giving her a sweet and light kiss. "What about you, love? What will you do if i go out?"

Amanda laughed loudly "darlin i have a bottle of wine in the fridge, internet connection and my kindle app. I promise ill be fine for a few hours." It was amanda's turn to give ed a peck on the lips. "Go. Have fun. I'll be here enjoying me time."

"God i fucking love you!" Ed said excitedly as he jumped up after kissing her again and grabbing his jacket and ran towards the door.

"Wait!" Amanda shouted just as he was about to close the door. Ed poked his head back in with a question. 

"Phone?" A nod. 

"Wallet?" Another nod. 

"Keys?" Amanda asked with a raised eyebrow as she looked from him to the coffee table in front of her with his keys sitting on it.

"Have I mentioned you are the most wonderful woman ever to exist?" Ed said as he sheepishly came back inside and grabbed his keys.

"Hmm ill be sure to let your mom know you said as such" amanda grinned wickedly.

Ed gasped "you wouldn't"

"I will if you don't leave right now. You're gonna miss all the fun." 

Ed rushed out the door with a final, ‘love you!’ and left Amanda on her own once again. Sighing to herself, she allowed herself to pout at being left alone once again but only for a moment. She truly meant what she said about wanting him to see his friends. And it wasn’t that she didn’t not  like some of his friends, she just knew she wouldn’t enjoy herself. If she wasn’t enjoying herself, she didn’t want to distract Ed with her problems. 

But honestly, did he have to leave her all hot and bothered? Just rude. Thinking about ways to fix her problem she slammed her fist in her other hand. “I’ll need my laptop and that bottle for sure” Amanda giggled. If Ed is going to have a good night, so was she.

“Dude? And she just let you go?” Justin looked at Ed in disbelieve. “Sounds fake but okay” he muttered as he sipped his drink. 

“Well I think it’s nice” Dillion said. “You two are so good for each other, she has totally got your back.” 

Dia snorted, “That or she’s fucking someone else.” 

“What the fuck?” Ed slurred a little. “She wouldn’t do that to me. If she wanted me to stay in, she would have told me. Besides, she loves my dick. Why would she look for another” Ed said smugly. 

Dia eyed Ed up and down while sassing her head. “Who said she’s looking for some dick?”

“She is pan” Justin chimed in unhelpfully. 

“Let Ed be. Y’all should learn to trust your partners. That’s why y’all can’t stay in a relationship while our boy Ed here is in a 3 year relationship with a lovely girl.” Dillion praised with red cheeks. 

“I don’t know about that. You have seemed to be avoiding her lately” Justin muttered, glancing at Ed before looking away just as quick. 

“No I’m not!” Ed said a little louder than he had meant to. He was more drunk than he thought. 

“Ed, you two have been here for nearly 2 weeks on a ‘couples holiday’ and all you’ve done is work. Amanda hasn’t even been coming with you cause me and her don’t mix well” Justin pointed out. “If I gave up seeing my family and friends for the holidays to go on take a trip with my boyfriend to a luxury condo resort only to be left almost daily cause said boyfriend is working, I’d be a little irritated myself.”

Ed sat with a large pout while he picked at the label on his beer. “I always ask before I leave and she has asked for me to stay a few times and we’ve gone out and skied and went ‘round her old hometown. Even went to that coffee shop she remembered as a little girl.” 

Even Dillion started to look doubtful. “I don’t know Ed. I don’t think Amanda should have to ask  you to stay when you’re on a couples holiday.” 

“I know my girl,” Ed stated again louder than he meant to, setting his beer bottle down a little too hard on the table. “If she had a problem with me going out, she would have said so. She isn’t seeing anybody else and she isn’t sleeping with anyone either.”

Dia raised an eyebrow and smirked. “Sure Teddy, but I know females and that girl is totally feeling ignored and pushed aside.” Dia stood and winked at the whole table, “I’m going to dance, see you boys later.”

The 3 men sat in silence for a moment before Justin spoke up. “Okay, I can see what Amanda was saying about not being sure about her.”

“You talked?” Ed looked shocked at his friend. 

“Hmm?” Justin looked to Ed after watching the girl he was currently talking to start 2 guys eyeing her like meet. “Uh yeah. We don’t click well but we’re civil enough, jesus Ed. It was on the 3rd day you two showed up and I came to pick you up to record. You were still in the shower and I waited and we talked a bit. 

“Amanda seemed a little more off than usual with me so I asked. She confessed that Dia made her uncomfortable and didn’t think she was a good match, before back-peddling and saying she didn’t mean to intrude on my private life and apologized. And... “ Justin stopped and looked a little embarrassed. His red cheeks from drinking didn’t help hide his guilty look. 

 “What?” Ed asked irritated for some reason. 

“And she said she was sorry for not being able to get along with me. That she knew we were really good friends and didn’t want to ruin that but she wasn’t going to change herself to please you. Then she hoped she was wrong about her feelings for Dia and wished me luck.” Justin looked away, too embarrassed to look Ed in the eye. “I gotta say man, I got a little jealous of you right at that moment.”

“See Ed, there’s nothing to worry about. Just relax and enjoy yourself.” Dillion said with a pat on Ed’s back. 

Ed squinted at Justin, taking in his words. He had a sudden swell of unbelievable pride in his girl but the ear worm had gotten to his brain already and now he couldn’t stop thinking about Amanda being in bed with another man. Or woman. Oh god, or both. Ed stood up abruptly, almost knocking his chair over. “I have to go!”

“Wait, Ed maybe you should sober up a bit first” Dillion looked worried. 

“I’m fine” Ed grumped and marched out of the bar. They weren’t that far from the condo complex and the cold air would sober him up just fine. 

After walking the 10 minutes back to their room, Ed’s head had cleared and realized how stupid he was being. Ed smiled to himself as he unlocked the door and shook his head at how silly he was and what a great girl he had. 

Until he heard a long, wonton moan. 

Ed froze and could literally feel his heart break. His shoulders slumped and let his coat and keys fall to the floor. He dragged his feet but couldn’t stop his movements towards the bedroom where he was hearing more moans and obvious sounds of sex.

He raised his hand to open the door when he stopped again. There was another moan but listening again, he realized it wasn’t Amanda’s moan. And then another voice groaned and then… someone speaking Japanese? 

Then to top it all off, he heard Amanda snort and laugh out loud. 

Now he was mad and confused so he peeked inside to find Amanda sitting on the bed, cross legged and in one of his nightshirts and a pair of boy short panties. She was sipping wine from a plastic bright green wine glass and was watching something on her laptop. 

Again Amanda being Amanda, she was positioned oddly so her back was actually towards the door and Ed could see what was playing on the laptop. 

“Oh my god! Are you watching tentacle pron?” Ed shouted as he stepped inside fully. 

Amanda screamed and jumped, spilling her wine all over herself and the bed. Ignoring that, she slammed the laptop screen down so fast, Ed barely saw her hand move. “What are you doing here back so soon!?” Amanda shrieked. 

“I, well, uh. That doesn’t matter right now, were you watching tentacle porn?” Ed asked again trying not to laugh. 

“You were supposed to be gone the whole night! And you left me horny! And you weren’t supposed to be home so soon!” Amanda rambled, blushing so much her neck was turning red too. 

 “I didn’t know you were into that” Ed said smirking. 

“Shut up, ginger boy!” Amanda shouted as she stood up off the bed but now standing she didn’t know what to do with herself. “I just. The thing is. You see it started. I mean, I discovered it when I was in high school. I mean, why am I explaining myself? Why were you skulking about trying to scare me?”

It was Ed’s turn to look embarrassed. “If I explain my embarrassing story of the night, will you tell me about your kink I never knew about?”

Amanda crossed her arms and looked away with puffed cheeks. “I’ll think about it after you explain yourself.”

“Okay well, I was a little drunk when it was brought up how I was ‘allowed’ to go out without you and then the guys were saying how great that was that you were cool with it but then Dia had to say something about you maybe looking to find some dick somewhere else and then Justin pointed out I’ve been working almost this whole holiday and I’ve been a rubbish boyfriend. So in my drunken stupor I thought I’d come back to find you and dick you down so good, you’d never even think of another man but then I came through the door and heard moans and sex and panicked and felt my heart break and followed the sound and then found you looking so beauiful in my shirt and those panties on that lushous ass of your’s and you watchin porn after I left you alone, I just… My brain stopped working.”

Amanda stared at him with a raised eyebrow and a doubtful look on her face as she listened to him ramble. Though once she heard that Dia had started spewing her poison, she wasn’t surprised to learn that a seed of doubt was planted. “Wait you’re telling me that brain of yours works sometimes?”

“It’s up for debate to be honest, love” Ed smiled sheepishly.  

“And you were gonna ‘dick me down so good’ huh?” Amanda said as she still kept her arms crossed but now jetting her hip out as well, sass surfacing in defense of the embarrassment of being caught. 

“Okay so maybe my brain isn’t working at all tonight” Ed said as he rubbed the back of his neck. “Not the most romantic thing I’ve said.”

“Ironic sense you know, Ed Sheeran and all” Amanda smirked and nudged her chin in his direction. 

“Are you seriously gonna keep sassing me when I caught you watching tentacle anime porn?” Ed said exasperated.

“Are you seriously gonna keep bringing up the hentai?” Amanda sighed.

“Oh it has an actual name? Please tell, love, why haven’t I learned about this private enjoyment before?” Ed said, slipping into to his low baritone and stepped up to cupped Amanda’s warm cheek. 

“Cause I haven’t needed to watch porn in a while and plus it’s just sort of a once in a blue moon type thing” Amanda confessed, blushing straight to the tips of her hair. “Plus it wasn’t tentacles…”

“Oh? Please correct me than?” Ed smirked, loving the way her whole body was warm. 

“It was monster girls and aliens” Amanda whispered. “I like the succubuses” Amanda muttered as she placed her face against his chest.    

“That. Is. So. Cute” Ed laughed as he hugged Amanda. He lowered his head so he whispered in her ear, “Would you like to watch it together?”

“Well…” Amanda snuggled her face more into Ed’s chest. “I spilled my wine of the bed.”

“Edward!” Amanda pulled back and slapped her hand against his chest. “You’re so lewd.”

Spring Semester Honor Roll Announced

 Jackson, Tenn (June 21, 2017) – The Office of Admissions and Records at Jackson State Community College released the honor roll for the Spring 2017 semester. On the honor roll, there were 307 full-time students who achieved a quality point average over 3.00. There were 381 students who made the dean’s list by achieving a quality point average of 3.50 or better.

 Honor Roll is reserved for students who are enrolled for twelve (12) or more hours of college-level work (Learning Support excluded) and who complete a semester’s work with a quality point average between 3.00 and 3.49.

Dean’s List is reserved for students who are enrolled for twelve (12) or more hours of college-level work and who complete a semester’s work with a quality point average between 3.50 and 4.00.

Mr. Rex Eller, 78, of Purlear passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017.

Rex was born on Thursday, September 1, 1938 to Percy Cleveland Eller and Ora Mae Eller.

Rex was a member of Lewis Fork Baptist Church, the Mt Pleasant Ruritan club, Honor Guard, and an

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Lewis Fork Baptist church. Visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 at the church.  Burial will follow the funeral at Mt Lawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Jessie Lee "Jim" Shepherd, Jr., age 78, of North Wilkesboro, died Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Westwood Hills Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born August 31, 1938 in Wilkes County to Jessie Lee Shepherd, Sr. and Hester Tunnie Wingler Shepherd. He was the owner and operator of Jessie Shepherd's Backhoe and Grading Service. Mr. Shepherd was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Clara Lee Walsh Shepherd; and his son, Jimmy Allen Shepherd.

Surviving are his son, Paul Shepherd of North Wilkesboro; granddaughter, Kimberly Shepherd of North Wilkesboro; brothers, Claude Shepherd and wife Frances of North Wilkesboro, Tunnie Shepherd and wife Penny of Kernersville; sister, Katherine Smithey and husband Clayton of Greensboro; and great grandchildren, Dillon Shepherd, Joshua Shepherd, Connor Shepherd and Dixie Shepherd all of North Wilkesboro.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents and brother, David Gregory.

Linda is survived by her husband, Billy James Johnson; sons, James “Lynn” Johnson of Union Grove and Jamie Allen Johnsons and wife, RosaLee also of Union Grove, 5 grandchildren and one great grand child.

Linda was a member of Mt Pisgah Baptist Church; she also enjoyed fishing and crocheting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Dean Daniel Mathis, one son; Roger D. Mathis, two sisters; Melna Dimmette and Barbara Wooten, one brother; Lillard Billings and three infant siblings.

She is survived by three daughters; Gloria Mathis Manning and husband Silas of Winston Salem, Kay Mathis Ferguson and husband Chuck of Winston Salem and Sandra G. Mathis of Traphill, six grandchildren; Paul Manning, Scott Manning, Pam Harrelson, Tim Spicer, Blake Johnson and Brock Johnson and three great grandchildren, Danielle Harrelson, Landon Spicer and Ashlyn Johnson and one half-sister; Mildred Main and husband John of Maryland.

Mrs. Jessie Woodruff Rhodes, age 88, of Wilkesboro, died Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Wilkes Senior Village. She was born July 13, 1928 in Wilkes County to Vernon and Bertha Holder Woodruff. She volunteered many years as a Pink Lady at Wilkes Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the North Wilkesboro Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir. Mrs. Rhodes was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Grant Rhodes; and two sisters, Lucille Brookshire and Betty Jo Hamby.

Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Gregory and husband Edgar of Wilkesboro; two grandchildren, Bern Gregory and wife Amanda of Mooresville, Meredith Gregory and husband Grant Bridgwood of Asheville; three great grandchildren, Braelyn Gregory, Xander Dillion and Hinsley Dillion all of Mooresville; two sisters, Helen Wiles and Nancy Whittington both of North Wilkesboro; and brother-in-law, Allan Rhodes of Chapel Hill.

Mr. Benny Ross Greene, 73, of Community  Road, Purlear, went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

Benny was born August 2, 1943 in Watauga County the son of the late Norman Issac Greene and Lola Golds Greene.

Benny was a retired diesel mechanic from Critcher Brothers Produce in Deep Gap. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.  Benny spent his life loving and caring for his family and many friends, along with the love of caring for his bees and deer hunting with his sons and grandson.

Including his parents, he was preceded in death by: a grandson, Daron Scott Hayes; four sisters and three brothers.

Those left to cherish his memory include: his wife of 52 years, Alice “Peggy’ Greene of the home; a daughter, Beth Greene and David Holman of Purlear; three sons, Michael Greene, Mark Greene and wife, Sheena, Keith Greene and wife, Angie, all of Purlear; six grandchildren, Ashley Davis and husband, Joel, of Jonesville, Joshua Greene of Boone, Amber Greene and A. J. Perkins of Augusta, GA, Kimmie Greene of Purlear, Cody Luther of Ashe Co., Chase Taylor of Rural Hall; three great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Zoe and Caleb Davis of Jonesville; four step-grandchildren, Shawn Holeman of Winston-Salem, Timmy Johnson and wife, Audrey of Boomer, Tiffani Johnson of North Wilkesboro and Tamara Johnson of Purlear; three step-great-grandchildren, Riley Morrison, Lucca Hailey and Mia Johnson; two sisters, Afta Mead and husband, Bill, of Wilkesboro, Joyce Robbins and husband, Harrold, of Lenoir; two brothers, Dean Greene and wife, Wilma, of Deep Gap, Granville Greene and wife, Sharon, of Fleetwood; best friend, Travis Greene and wife, Judy, of Millers Creek along with many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2016 at Mountain View Baptist Church.  Revs. Mike Barfoot and Roy Smith will officiate.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Paul Michael "Mike" Cannon, age 65, of Wilkesboro, died Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Woltz Hospice Home. He was born February 5, 1951. The son of William Paul and Otha B. Nichols Cannon of Wilkes County. Mr. Cannon was in the National Guard and a member of Faith Baptist Church in Millers Creek. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his wife, Joy Diane Shoemaker Cannon; daughters, Amber Shumate  and husband Andy of North Wilkesboro, Ashley Cannon of the home, Paula Cannon of Roaring River; son, William Cannon of Hamptonville; grandchildren, Kristi Anderson of Hamptonville, Ashlyn Shumate of North Wilkesboro, expecting grandson, Dawson Paul; great granddaughter, Sapphire Bumgarner; brother, Steve Cannon of Wilkesboro; sister, Sharyn Klein and husband Albert of Wilkesboro; several nieces and nephews; and his loving puppy dogs.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Oak Forest Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy McGlamery and Rev. Charles Younce officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday evening at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

Mrs. Harris was born March 12, 1923 in Wilkes County to James and Lorene Colvard Mastin.  She was a homemaker.  She was a member of Oak Forest Baptist Church where she was choir director, and served as Church Treasurer for over 50 years.  She devoted her life to her family, friends and church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Ransom Roscoe Harris, five sisters; Blanch Johnson, Bessie Ford, Hazel Baldwin, Betty Williams, Nell Hoots and two brothers; Ford Mastin and Roy Mastin.

She is survived by one daughter; Patsy Caudill, three sons; Jerry Harris and wife Brenda, Tommy Harris, Michael Harris and wife Kathy all of Roaring River, thirteen grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

Mr. James Frank Canter, Jr., age 72, husband of Linda Blackburn Canter passed away Friday, December 30, 2016 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 5, 2017 at White Plains Baptist Church with Pastor William Souther officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Canter was born April 1, 1944 in Elizabethton, TN to James Frank Canter, Sr. and Blanche Louise Hale Canter Breeding.  He was the owner/operator of Time Testers of Elkin, NC.  He was a member of White Plains Baptist Church and a member of the Lions Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife; Linda Blackburn Canter of the home, one daughter; LaVonne C. Warder and husband, James “Jimmy” of Mechanicsville, Md., three grandchildren; Ashley N. Warder, Jason Warder, Joshua Warder, three great grandchildren; Virginia Lee Warder, Jason Edward Warder, Joshua Lee Warder, Jr., two sisters; Brenda Canter of Lebanon, VA, Kathy Renee Richardson and husband Harold of Raven, VA.

Infant Josiah Lee Eastman, died Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born December 29, 2016 in Forsyth County to Emily Mikayla Eastman.

Surviving are his mother, Emily Mikayla Eastman and Christopher Ryan Howard of Jonesville; brother, Leo Ryker Howard of the home; maternal grandparents, Lisa and Frankie Heath of Jonesville; and grandmother, Kimberly Howard of Elkin.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Center United Methodist Church in Yadkinville with Rev. Matt Ponce De Leon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Center United Methodist Church from 10:00 until 11:00 on Tuesday, prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted.
