caveat that i have only watched a limited amount of the office and i am neither a huge fan nor an expert BUT
i always thought the most interesting episode is the one where michael scott and his boss meet a client. and the conceit of the episode is that she does not want him there because he is the most annoying man on earth and he is going to ruin everything. and the punchline is that in the end, he actually is the reason they're able to make the sale, or not lose the client, or whatever it was they were doing.
but part of the punchline is that it shows michael scott as actually being fully capable of charm. he is able to connect with other people with a sincerity and empathy that he had not to that point seemed to even understand existing.
and it does something in conjunction with other episodes where michael is shown alongside his 'peers', the other salesmen who he looked up to when he was younger. they treat him like absolute shit, and they bully him, and he treats this like friendship. you get this glimpse of what michael scott is trying to be when he's being the most awful annoying boss in the world.
those things are interesting together for the implication that michael scott thinks being sincere and charming and nice are things you do to make a sale. those things aren't real. if you're friends with someone, you tease them and pull pranks and bully them. when he becomes the boss, he wants everyone to like him so he tries to show he's their friend by being a colossal shithead.
i haven't watched enough of the office to know if they ever really do anything meaningful with this! it just stuck with me as a really interesting choice to have sitting there in the background every time michael scott does something awful and cringe and everyone looks at the camera like :I
Someday I hope I find out what happened to Michael Schur between making The Office/Parks and Rec/B99, and making The Good Place.
I say this because I just watched the first season of "Man on the Inside" which is about an Old Guy that falls into helping a private investigator investigate an old folks home where some jewelry was reported missing, and some of the messages from The Good Place are reflected in it. The messages about community, and finding the goodness in humanity, and just... Both The Good Place and Man on the Inside have this gentle quality with regards to how it sees people that just isn't present AT ALL in The Office (what little I've been able to stomach of it, it's MEAN in a way that TGP and MotI are not), minimally in Parks and Rec, and at least started to emerge in B99 but still isn't present in the same way (at least in the first four seasons, I haven't seen the rest but I will. it has a moment here or there, but it's not ABOUT that the way TGP and MotI are).
Where did this come from for Schur? What happened to him that he first dug into this HIGH QUALITY niche where humans are good and we can be better tomorrow and we need each other? How do we replicate whatever it was, to give it to others?
#reblog#have i rambled about this before? surely i have#i feel like that was some kind of turning point away from the british version - like that specific episode#but i don't care enough to look it up because i am supposed to be sleeping#anyway it feels like there's this desire throughout the office to try and humanize and really explore certain things sometimes#this man is awful. why? are the viewpoint characters better than him? does their mockery do anything but make them worse?#this man is awful but can you feel affection for him anyway? can you build a rapport with your worst coworker? should you? can you not?#but then you're limited because the characters are what they are and it's a background noise forever sitcom#that show went on for so long and made so much money that it feels like a lot of those involved can now do whatever they want forever

REWATCHING SEASON 2 EPISODE 7 OF ARCANE
+ some of my highlights and notable moments that I enjoyed bc people can’t understand media anymore
This is mostly an infodump of stuff I can fit into a twitter thread/didn't rly want to make into a thread. I'm not great at words so I apologize in advance, I am sure there are many people much better at analysis than I.
I want to start off by saying I am heavily invested in timebomb so this is very much going to be a ship analysis. If you're looking for someone unbiased i am very much not the person for that 😭
FIRST OFF:
The disc on the music box is adorable!!! It features au Powder (who I am going to refer to as just Powder for the duration of my analysis) and au Ekko
Compared to the normal Disc
This is very obviously because it takes place in a different universe, one without Vi or "Jinx".
The first scene starts off with AU Ekko writing in his notebook. (Cute mention is Powder's doodle in his notebook!!) Then we see flashes of the wild rune. This is when AU Ekko switches to canon Ekko.
Also one of my favorite silly images from this episode is this one.. Powder is being so adorable and Ekko is just scared out of his MIND. it's so silly.
In the Last drop, Powder asks Ekko. "What is up with you? You've been out of it all day?". One thing I noticed in my rewatch is that i think Powder is aware this Ekko isn't HER Ekko. This is just one instance of many that makes me think this.
This hideout seems so much more vibrant and loved, similar to Jinx's hideout after Isha. It's colorful. There are guard rails that I like to think was pushed by Vander. We can see Ekko's art scattered around. It just shows how much more support and family Powder has compared to Jinx, which i mention a lot.
Id also like to note Ekko being shocked au him went to powder for help. In his mind at this time he believes Jinx to be all that is left, no more Powder. Through out the episode we see that change.
Notice how Powder gets upset at Ekko in this scene. However, she doesn't react explosively like Jinx would've. She handled it in a way that shows she had support. She told him to leave instead. Again, the main difference between Powder and Jinx isn't only Vi but also the existence of multiple support systems that Jinx simply didn't have.
THIS FLASHBACK! Oh my god this flashback. The fact it happened after he upset Powder? I think it shows just how much he truly cares about Jinx/Powder. He remembers VIVIDLY the day that he thought he killed her. Jinx was his childhood best friend, and I don't think that kind of feeling ever truly goes away. He doesn't want to hurt any version of her, not even the alternate universe her. We see that showcased more later on. Also, random probably insane note. He is interrupted by small children playing, having fun. This isn't a coincidence, it shows he does miss the moments from when they were kids.
While talking with Heimerdinger, we see Ekko look at Powder multiple times. Watching her laugh and be expressive, he smiles. When she doesn't return it we see him get upset. Once more this brings me to my point that he doesn't want to hurt her. Considering he hasn't known this Powder very long you can see where I gather my point that he doesn't want to hurt her in GENERAL. Any version of her.
THIS SCENE!! He is such a bad liar it's adorable. This brings me to my earlier point, Powder knows what's up!! She suspects something 100%. He is talking about this dream her like it was real.
"You aren't the kind of person who helps other people with their projects. Your ideas change the world. I can't shake the feeling that that's who you're supposed to be."
Are you LISTENING TO THIS? He is obviously talking about Jinx. You can tell this by the first sentence because obviously Powder IS that kind of person. He's starting to see that Jinx is just a part of Powder, one that is unavoidable and that he unknowingly appreciates in a sense. Like two sides of one coin he can't see Powder without Jinx and that is good. I think it is here he realizes truly just how much he cares about Jinx.
This whole montage is beautiful but I want to zero in on two things. Powder's reaction to the notebook and how she looks at Ekko after. NOW THIS. This is the nail in the coffin for her. She knows that this is not her Ekko. She has fully gathered that he isn't from this universe.
Also heimerdinger totally knows how Ekko feels you cannot tell me otherwise. Pushing him to go to the party? yeah he knows what you are.
THIS WHOLE SCENE. I AM NOT ANALYZING THE WHOLE THING HERE BUT IT IS GORGEOUS. I saw someone talking about how it was animated on 4's to signify the way Ekko can only go back 4 seconds and I honestly shed a tear. THE SONG TOO? I encourage everyone to look at the lyrics because they're beautiful.
Okay now for my favorite part of this episode so much to dissect and i'm totally going to mansplain but yk..
"I used to dream the undercity could be like this" — That sets the tone for the whole conversation and just what world he is talking about. The canon one.
"But somewhere, I got consumed by all the ways it wasn't. I gave up on it. Gave up on YOU." — Heavy emphasis on this line. Once more he is talking about Jinx. He is talking about how he got so consumed by the way that Jinx wasn't good, and he gave up on her. Believed she was irredeemable. Powder showed him that Jinx is capable of love and happiness, it's just under that tough protective shell. The undercity in the metaphor is Jinx, from my interpretation.
"I promise i'll never forget this." — Now time for my insanity. He doesn't forget this. That's why he saves Jinx from ending her life in the first place. He remembers Powder and knows that with the right support Jinx doesn't have to be the way she is. It's not that she "needs to be fixed" she just needs to be LOVED, like Powder. He sees that now. He sees how in the au the love that everyone shares for one another shaped the undercity beautifully, and made everyone in it much healthier mentally despite going through hardships. That is beautiful. People with mental illness are not unlovable they just need more support, it can't be cured, or fixed just healed. Mental illness is always there it is how you DEAL with it that matters.
Nothing too major to talk about with the kiss. It's sweet I love it, but nothing too notable for me to say about it.
Finally, Ekko leaves the au. I have seen people say that this is a sacrifice, he could've had everything he wanted and he gave it up to save the people at home. But i take insanity to another level. I see this as him appreciating his home. He knows he can never truly love this Powder because she isn't the version he fell in love with. He learned to appreciate Jinx even through her flaws, and that while this world has everything he could want and more he can have that home too.
I am experiencing HEAVY timebomb brainrot if you can’t already tell. I was tired of people taking things in the complete wrong way with this episode, if anyone has different views pls tell me I love hearing how other people took certain scenes. there are a few scenes I love but I would’ve made this post way too long..

I'm watching Midsomer Murders for the first time and the vibe of the queer representation is so confusing that it's amusing.
like I am four episodes in to this show, and this season aired in 1998, and there have been canonical queer characters in ever episode so far. Every one. in 1998. But they also fall into some interesting stereotypes. spoilers btw
we have one very creepy weird slimy dude, who has a weird relationship with his mother, he's gay.
Then we have a trans icon, or a gay person who liked doing drag, they just see women's clothing and jump to conclusions and then constantly call them by the wrong pronouns which, I mean it's the 90s. they're the victim, because we can't have nice things
then we have a nice couple, one of whom I took one look at and said "he's going to be gay because they've put him in a floral waistcoat" and I was right, because that's the type of show it is, and then his concerning partner, who was most likely bisexual, but they act like he just hasn't gotten over women yet or something, and of course he cheats
and then there's a lesbian couple. and to no one's surprise, they are the murderers. or both played a part in it anyway. but, there love is treated like it's very real, which is nice.
but the bit that's absolutely sending me is the different attitudes of Barnaby and Troy. The decision to make Barnaby, the older more experienced one perfectly ok with it all? spectacular. And the way he keeps sending Troy to talk to the queer people specifically because he knows it makes him uncomfortable??? unparalleled. Except when it really matters and he goes and talks to the one lesbian about the well being of her partner.
I am in love with this man. This show is so fun and now I have 24 seasons to watch. and it's still airing. Now I have something to fill the hole law and order left in my heart.

I love the idea of Buck being in a suspiciously good mood when 8b returns. We get no Tommy mentions, no break-up mentions, it's like it never happened. He's confident, cheery and a little giddy. Near the end of the episode, Hen, Chim and Eddie pull Buck aside to confront him about it.
"Okay Buck, what's going on, you haven't mentioned Tommy all week and now all three of us lost the bet. What's the deal?" Hen asks.
"Yeah, you seeing somebody?" Eddie asks.
Buck grins and his cheeks turn a little pink. "Yeah. Yeah I am. He's- he's the one."
Everyone trades skeptical glances but Buck is too busy staring whistfully behind them at the wall to notice.
"The one?" Hen chuckles. "Wow."
"Buck, are you sure you're-"
"Oh, hold on. I gotta get this." Buck digs his phone out of his pocket and steps away to answer it.
"Hey daaaddy," Buck says.
The crew groan simultaneously and Chim turns to face the B shift. "Who had money on them getting back together this week? Congratulations. You win the pot."
"Damn. Karen and I were eyeing this new espresso machine, too."
"Hey, I'm just glad Tommy finally came to his senses. I've gained like 10 pounds since the breakup and it wasn't even my break up," Eddie says.
"I will miss those loaves though," Chim sighs.
They look over to watch Buck across the station, laughing as he talks into the phone, looking bashful as he toes the engine wheel with his foot.
"I bet it sticks this time. Better ask for loaves at the wedding, Chim. That’ll be your last chance," Ravi says smugly as he counts his winnings in front of them.

Okay, once again I feel insane watching this. Everyone is screaming about how adorable and sweet it is for Kant to be jealous and how lucky Bison is......
Kant orchestrated the whole thing! He wasn't jealous, because Tawan was never an actual threat. There is no cuteness here!
He intentionally stood Bison up for hours and paid another guy to hit on Bison so that he could appear infatuated and worm his way into Bison's heart. But it's impossible to be jealous/possessive over someone when you know the third wheel isn't a threat (and you in fact paid them to be there!) so there is zero cuteness here, sadly.
Yes, I agree Kant wants to sleep with Bison again, it definitely rocked his world in a way that it did not for Bison (that moment where Kant was hyping up their first night together and Bison looked unimpressed made me giggle). But Kant's #1 motive for hanging around Bison is just for his mission. He says in the first 30 seconds of the first episode that he has no interest in dating and only does one night stands. He might want more of that dick, but he is fully playing at everything else.
I am, however, excited for next week when Kant gets desperate to break into Bison's home and makes this bet which we know is going to end up with some very fun BDSM and also some very tasty Kant learning he actually wants to give up control in bed. I think when Bison begins to reveal his actual preferences and Kant begins to actually cede the dominance battle and stop being such an alpha-male flirty himbo, then we'll finally see progress.
Bison will start to find some value in Kant besides a way to feel flattered and have a life outside of his job (Bison states in this episode that he just wants Fadel out of the way to live his life, not to date Kant), and Kant will start to become actually fond of our little psycho assassin and the freedom Bison gives him via giving up control. But I don't think either of those things have happened at this point yet!

Dune: Prophecy episode 2 thoughts:
[SPOILERS]
NOW WE ARE COOKING WITH GAS
Everyone continues to speak in Exposition Dump; I have accepted that the dialogue will just be Like This and have made my peace with it
I knew that Lila was gonna turn out to be Raquella's descendent!
TULA MOTHERFUCKING HARKONNEN your sister is underestimating you. Tula was kind of a nothingburger in episode 1 but goddamn, that conversation she has with Lila where she convinces her to undertake the Agony was so manipulative and creepy. And you just know at least some of what she is saying is lies even if you don't know quite which parts yet.
Everything with Lila was completely harrowing. She looks so small and young in the white robe in the lab. The fact that everyone at the school is watching from the gallery, fucking yikes. Chloe Lea who plays Lila did a fantastic job. Olivia Williams is terrifying. That whole sequence was by far the most riveting part of the episode.
Love how much they're doing with the Other Memory, which the films don't really have time to get into. Love that they're highlighting the idea that the ancestors aren't just passive conduits of information; they have agendas and can influence you. You can see the call-forward to Alia's storyline in Children of Dune.
The ancestral plane or whatever you wanna call it looked creepy as fuck, good job. Also love how the shrouded gray figures look a little bit like the silver-plate icon of Raquella that's perpetually looming over all of them.
LILA KNOWS THAT VALYA KILLED DOROTEA. Oh that's great. Especially since I am pretty sure that Lila is only mostly dead. That Chekov's gun is gonna go off at some point.
Dorotea says Lila's mother is "not here." I sort of thought the Other Memory included all your ancestors whether they were alive or dead but maybe not? In any case I assume the implication is that Lila's mother is alive.
Actually love that Tula got genuinely upset at the thought that she might have killed Lila. Love a fucked-up surrogate mother-daughter relationship.
Unsurprisingly I am becoming a bit of a Jen stan. You question that propaganda girl!
Continually getting jumpscared by the GoT rejected plotline/early 2000s Syfy miniseries/CW show based on a popular YA franchise vibes of the younger Corrino generation. Could've done without the sexposition. Ynez and Squareface Atreides continue to be so so so boring.
Squareface Atreides talking about the "rebellion" of what seems like Houses Minor/less powerful elements of the Landsraad as if it's some kind of popular revolt was great actually. I don't know how much this was intended, but classic Atreides bullshit of always thinking they're the Good Guys.
Desmond in floaty jail. Sorry I just could not take it seriously. I laughed every time they floated him around.
The fact that Desmond can resist the Voice makes me think he is not fully human, or not human at all. I was originally thinking he's just got a fucked up Tleilaxu robot eye that can fry people, but now I wonder if he's something else entirely.
Oh I am fully on board now and ready for more!

THK episode 1 rambling thoughts
I am obsessed with this show. I have watched episode 1 five times! And I am absolutely in love with all 4 main characters.
I am not good at writing in-depth analysis or meta of any series as I tend to take things to literally sometimes. However, several things that strike me:
Kant and Fadel are more similar than we (I) think: Fadel with his job as an assassin by night and chef by day is precise with whatever he does. One only needs to see when he cut those tomatoes perfectly and carefully prep the burgers. Similarly, Kant as a tattoo artist means he needs to be meticulous and patient when he designed + apply those tattoos on his clients. Both also clearly love their brothers and willing to do die anything for them - including letting said self being blackmailed multiple times by a shady cop or moving your entire life hood/business to another town cause your beloved baby brother went bonkers during a drunken karoake session. Both also internalised their problems and project calm externally - although Fadel comes across as broody (but handsome) while Kant appears more affable (also handsome!) because of his flirtatious nature. Nevertheless, this is one of the reason why I think Kant & Fadel clashes (apart from Kant wanting to boink Fadel's baby brother) - they are too similar in nature and knows how the other operates.
Style and Bison are chaos incarnates and gremlins to the core. While Style may come of as ridiculous and bold, he is sharper than he looks. The fact that he can get under Fadel's skin so quickly means he clocks on what irritates Fadel and just roll with the punches without fear. Similarly, when Style told Kant he will only hit on Fadel if Kant gives up his precious car? That is him checking out Kant's interest in Bison because he knows how much Kant adores that car. Bison despite his sweet look is cunning and knows how to play to his strength. We know he has Fadel wrapped around his fingers. And while Kant may be the one flirting (at this point), Bison is the one pulling the strings. Even from their first one night encounter, Bison sets the pace (and tone) - from declining to give his name to boldly stating "You're not doing this solo, you know?". Plus while he seems receptive towards Kant's flirting (later on), Bison is constantly watching Kant's moves and calculating in his mind how much he wants to trust him.
Fadel and Bison relationship as brothers - they are polar opposites. However, it is obvious Fadel loves Bison even though he does not truly understands his lil brother. Similarly, while Bison may rebel, he ultimately obeys his big brother. After all, he wouldn't have asked Kant to win Fadel over if Kant ever wants to date him. May I also add that both Bison and Fadel are broken in some ways and it will be interesting to see their background story as the series progresses. I also personally think while Fadel is more stoic on the outside, he also has the gentler/fragile heart when compared to Bison.
Kant and Style are crazy - the former knows Bison is a hitman but still decides to seduce him (even with him being blackmailed, you can't convince me that is enough reason to proceed with the seduction). Style does not know Fadel is a hitman - however, the fact that Kant does not feel the need for his best friend to know of this important fact tells you a lot about how bold and fearless Style can be.
Kant, Bison and Fadel have control issues - in some ways they are all powerless and have no say on how to live their live. From Kant being frequently used by the police to do their dirty job to Bison/Fadel being raised as assassins. So, it certainly will be interesting to see how the 2 couples face their lack of control - some people have already theorized the BDSM scenes we will be seeing from KantBison stem from the need to have/give up control and it certainly seems to be heading towards that direction.
Either way, I am enjoying the cat and mouse game both couples are playing (although Fadel is clearly an unwilling participant at present). Both sides are convinced they have the upper hand, but I think all 4 are actually on a more even plane than they themselves realised.
#this is purely for me#not expecting anyone to agree with me#the heart killers#random rambling#thk episode 1#kantbison#stylefadel#i adore all 4 boys but I have a soft spots for my gremlin boys

Ok I am finally ready. Ready to tell you what happened 100 years ago, Link.
I am ready to put ideas into words. To start, be aware I am the biggest Mayuri simp fan this side of the Equatorial line, so if I sound biased... People, that's Blorbo Beebus.
With that out of the way...
About the latest episode!
Let's start with what I liked. Everything. There's nothing wrong here and you won't find complaints with me, roll credits.
So this model won't work. Let's try again.
✨Highlight Reel! Part 1!✨
- Ryusei. friggin. Nakao
This man was always good. As a singer he is stellar (Angel Calling, my beloved, LISTEN TO IT) but as a voice actor? SON.
We all know he also voiced Caesar Clown (OP) and Frieza (DBZ/DBS) but if you notice, he voices each of them in a very peculiar way.
And Mayuri's voice always had me weak in the knees. Szayelaporro's fight, in particular, used to take me very near to the Soul King.
And I say "used to" because this episode kinda pushed Szayel's episode down a set of stairs for me.
Again, I have so much to say but words fail me. But we gotta start somewhere.
Let's start with the obvious?!
You watched the episode. You are hearing it in your head right now, aren't you? YEAH. It almost sounds like he held this in for eons just waiting to launch it on the unsuspecting crowd. This laugh... Every time I am sad now, I just remind myself this exists, and my depression respectfully lets me enjoy this fact for three seconds.
Am I also concerned babygirl might be having a particularly dangerous Mania episode and playing a bit of Russian Roulette? Yes.
Still in this episode... All of the times Mayuri talks with Zaraki, but I will elaborate on that further later.
Another example? Here.
The way he is talking about how Pernida should honor Zaraki's noble sacrifice and the way his voice keeps going louder and more insane by the minute, culminating in his best Yandere performance in the third frame, just to do a 360 and call Pernida a stiff?!
I still haven't recovered.
It goes from "Oh he is enjoying himself so much you guys" in the first half to "Oh damn, that is Captain Kurotsuchi now, eh" in the second.
This episode, for me, wasn't only a visual delight, i was literally boiling alive because Ryusei knocked it out of three parks, not only one.
Also I gotta include, since we talking about voice actors...
Pernida.
Dude. Bin Shimada, Broly, THANK YOU.
That's like two kings in a room, I swear. Part of the fact I kinda like Pernida is because of his voice alone. This part here, you can almost see a ? on his... Fingers. Gestures? I dunno! But he managed to give a soul to a hand. A HAND.
And how does he even talk?! Disturbing.
Now onto the next section! (Or else I will keep going about all the voice actors!)
- Kenmayu
Everyone that knows me saw this coming a mile away. Look, even disregarding my ship, please. Ever since the last episode before this one.
Mayuri talks. Zaraki doesn't listen. Shenanigans ensue.
You can see how they are literally opposites to each other. Mayuri is analyzing everything and all Zaraki wanna do is smack that thang (hehe) real hard. It backfires tremendously. TWICE.
Because Zaraki didn't listen!
(And no, Yumichika, Mayuri doesn't have a big bad plan to fuck your captain up. At least not IMHO, he might have a plan, yes. But it's not what you think, oh no.)
But lemme just...
The way Mayuri talks to Zaraki.
It's an amalgamation of things. There's sarcasm, there's contempt, and flirting. Yes, flirting, because look me in the eye and say this wasn't flirting.
If Mayuri looked at me like that he would have a new subject, me.
But I am jumping the gun here! The scene before this one?!
I will have to do a part two because I reached the picture limit but...
The pure. Unadulterated. Concern. In Mayuri's voice here.
Mayuri is concerned with Zaraki. Zaraki immediately tells him not to worry too.
The same Mayuri that is famous for being ruthless, a lunatic, and heartless as hell is concerned for someone else.
Not only that, when Zaraki is forced to cut his arm so Pernida stops doing the twist™, Mayuri asks Nemu to tie his arm and stop the bleeding.
Some of you will tell me "He stabbed him right after!" And yes he did, young Padawan, but there's a method in his madness. And if you go and listen to that scene too, Mayuri goes back to talk to Zaraki like... In a "I am so sorry for hurting you, babe" tone. Whatchamacallit.... Ah yes! Conciliatory!
And even so, he says "When I stab you again."
He expects Zaraki to survive. To go back to Seireitei after this fight. God, he is telling Zaraki, right near his paralyzed self, that he will return and that he will be there to stab him again. In his own twisted Kurotsuchi way he is giving Zaraki a bit of hope.
This hurts me on a physical level, because I have an idea about this whole thing, but you guys will have to hold onto the single dark clue I will leave behind:
*What if both of them didn't go back?*
Well, Part 2 I guess! I have too many thoughts!
#kurotsuchi mayuri#bleach tybw#kenpachi zaraki#bleach#I won't apologize#i need to ramble to the air or else imma explode FR#and this is just episode one my dude#part two will end my existence!#tybw spoilers#tybw cour 3

Child of crime alley episode 7:camera records
helluuuu. here is the new episode. thank you for your support with comments. please state your thoughts in the comments. enjoy reading -cami
Jason had returned to the cave after dropping Tim off at the cafe. There was no one there at this hour. He went to the main computer. He sent a message to Barbara
j- Hey Barbara, I have a favor to ask you. Of course, if you are not awake, I will write to you tomorrow
I-I am awake. But I will sleep. What happened at this hour?
j- About Tim
There was no answer but his phone started to ring. It was Barbara. She answered. Jason said “Hey I can ask you later”. He said to Barbara “I am awake, talk”. Jason asked “Do you know where he lives?” Barbara asked “I have no idea. Why are you trying to find him?” Jason said “I am not trying to find him, I already found the area where he lives. He lives in the Alley”. Barbara said “WHAT” in shock. Jason said “Yes. I met him in the evening”. Barbara asked “Did you find out exactly where he lives?” Jason remained silent. Barbara said “Jason”. Jason said “I don’t think he lives anywhere”. He asked Barbara “What”. Jason said “I’m having one of my men investigate but I think he’s homeless.” There was a boom from the other end. Jason said “Barbara.” Barbara said “Please tell me you’re exaggerating or lying.” Jason said “I’m sorry Babs but I don’t think it’s an exaggeration.” He cursed Barbara “Okay what can I do for you?” he said after taking deep breaths to calm himself down for a while. Jason said “I want to access the old camera footage of the cave. I want to know what the hell is going on.” Barbara said “Okay I’ll give you access.” Jason said “Thanks” and turned on the computer. Barbara said “But I want to know every detail.” Jason said “Okay.” They started investigating. The two of them spent the next hours looking at the security footage. They went all the way back to the first footage, they had seen Bruce’s handling of Jason’s death, how crazy he was, how suicidal he was. Then they saw how Tim had dragged himself into this incident, how he became Robin. Jason had stopped the recordings when he first saw Tim. “It’s too small,” he said in a low voice. Barbara remained silent. Jason said, “Babs, how did you not notice this, he is so young,” in hushed tones. His eyes were glowing green. Barbara remained silent. Jason cursed angrily. He took a deep breath to calm himself, then continued to watch. Then, when he saw Tim training with Bruce, Jason was going crazy, he was going crazy. When it was finally over, Jason had to work really hard to calm himself. Every time Tim got hurt, he used the infirmary after every training session to take care of his own wounds, and he had to dress his own wounds, over and over again. Barbara couldn’t say a word either. Jason tried to calm himself for a while, and then he calmed down and said, “Babs, do me a favor and reach Cass, she’s been in town for a while, hasn’t she? Send these to her.” Barbara asked, “Okay, what are you going to do?” His tone was full of anger. Jason said, “I’m going to find Bird and take him to Dr. Leslie. I don’t think he’s even been to a doctor in years. I’m going to make sure everything is okay. Even though I want to beat Bruce to death right now, my priority is Bird,” he said. Barbara said, “Okay, let me know what the doctor says,” and hung up. Jasom got up and took out his phone
J-hey bird. Did you get off work, are you awake?
T- my shift just finished, I’m going to eat something and go to sleep. Why?
J- oh well
He wrote and paused. *How will I convince you? How will I convince you* he thought. Then *I’d better get straight to the point* he thought.
J- hey Timmy well… I’m going to see Dr. Leslie for a check-up. Would you like to come with me? You know Dr. Leslie likes to check all the bats regularly
T- I’ve never been there before
Jason slammed his fist on the table. He took a few deep breaths to calm himself down. then
J: but you should go, it’s very important for your health, Bird. How about I come get Semi. Then we'll go to Dr. Leslie's and have a nice meal when we get out of there
T-…
t- okay
Jason was relieved
J – okay then I'm coming there bird. See you
He wrote. There was a message from Barbara.
B- I told Dr. Leslie that you were coming. He'll pick you up right away
J- thank you Babs.
He wrote. He closed the screen, got on his motorcycle and left the cave

"like this post if you want a random spn ask"
what's a spn episode that seems underdiscussed, underrated, or even hated that you LOVE?
Ok so definitely not a hated episode but unrated/underdisscussed To ME: Mother's Little Helper (Gasp Shock Suprise Vic we had no idea you like this episode lol). So I am not out here claiming it to be the Best Episode Ever - BUT I do believe it deserves to reclaim its place in Sam Girl (gn) history. If you weren't there watching this episode on Tumblr the night it aired in the middle of the Experience that was living through S9 as it aired, I can forgive you for not understanding the IMPACT this episode had on Sam Nation in the moment. Like truly there was rejoicing in the streets, songs were sung (see Fig.1), and Sam Girl Christmas was declared (thanks @agelade) (see Fig.2)
Fig.1
Fig.2
This was the closest thing we had had to the hallowed Sam Centric Episode in what certainly felt like years - even though the timing split on this is I think actually pretty much 50/50 it in spirit is Sam centric because Sam spends the episode doing *gestures broadly* All That (see Fig 1.) and Dean spends it being mopey in a bar with Crowley (hyperbole employed for comedic effect).
Particular highlights of this episode personally for me:
Sam solo case - rare and precious thing (obviously I wouldn't want them all the time lol that's not the show but I do really enjoy seeing Sam working things more fully His Way which I think this episode showcases beautifully).
The implication that Sam Winchester is Better than You even when soulless lol - the fact that they even went so far as to point out that Sam wasn't "out of control" like these people and just committing random acts of violence, beautiful we love to see it.
Recorded exorcism on his phone HI HELLO HI - this episode has so much Sam's big beautiful brain but this is a fave moment for suuureee.
HENRY! <3
The scene of Sam setting the souls free and watching them return to their owners with this absolute sense of wonder (see Fig.3). It makes me emotional Every Single Time. (and was in fact a big inspiration for my fic Steps Toward the Water (shameless plug sorry but it really was)).
This episode features Sam looking (To ME) amongst the most beautiful he has ever looked like LOOK AT HIM (see Fig. 3, Fig. 4):
Fig.3
Fig.4
I can only assume that when Misha was directing this episode (still forget that fact and then Remember every time I think about it lmao) that he too was so overwhelmed by the Beauty of Sam that he felt compelled to capture it at its PEAK (v relatable I will give you This One Thing). In conclusion, Mother's Little Helper deserves it's status for its place in Sam Girl (gn) History, the simple joy of being given 1 (one) Sam centric episode that doesn't involve horrific torture, sexual assault (or metaphors for), or unrelenting angst (don't get me wrong I'm here for the Angst but just once its nice to seeee), and for being a particularly fine showcasing of Sam Beauty <3

I'm sorry, I just can't stop wondering what the hell happened to 911. It was never highbrow art, but it was genuinely entertaining and enjoyable. And people keep saying it's been going down hill since season 4, but season 8 has hit an entirely new low. They're really limbo-dancing with the devil at this point.
I mean. I wasn't a big fan of the season 5 opening disaster or the ppd arc, the season sure had its ups and downs. But they also did something interesting with Eddie for once, I am always a Taylor Kelly stan first and a 911 fan second so I enjoyed having her there, the story around Jonah was maybe a little far fetched but still fun, we had May at dispatch wihch I LOVED, Michael and David were still around and the season finale was pretty decent.
Season 6 also had a relatively strong first half. Once again not a big fan of the opening disaster, but Hen's med school storyline was still going strong at first, we got that Henren begins episode, we learned more about Athena's family and childhood (including conflict between Bathena and Beatrice), Madney was house-hunting and then we had the lightning strike and its aftermath of course. So most of the protagonists had stuff going on that we hadn't seen x times before.
After that... well. There was no reason to push Buck back into dating so soon after he had just learnt that being himself and by himself could also be enough. For Eddie it sort of made sense at this point? But it still felt like he wasn't dating because it's what he wanted, he did it because it was expected of him. Madney getting engaged was somewhat predictable though I would've also loved it if they hadn't done that. Lots of families with children and a house are happy without the parents ever getting married. And the finale in season 6 was really bad. Very underwhelming, very rushed.
But at least 6b had an excuse? The show was about to be cancelled. At the time those scripts were being written they probably didn't know yet that there'd be a season 7. And then season 7 had even more excuses why it was, well. Like that. (Network change, multiple strikes, the showrunner changed, a drastically shortened season, etc.) I can forgive a lot under those circumstances.
Season 8 though? Season 8 had it all. They had their og showrunner back and he had already had time to find his bearings. They knew about the renewal very early this time, so they had a lot of time to prepare. There were no more huge strikes. They got a full length season again. The network wasn't new anymore. Despite season 7 being a bit of a clusterfuck, they did manage to set up a few storylines to explore further in season 8. Everything was lining up perfectly!
And then they completely dropped the ball. I already went into detail post-8x06 on a different post, I didn't even watch 8x07 in full because it sounded rather boring (and police brutality heavy). Then they gave us a mid-season finale that was centered around an irrelevant comic relief side character who most people found annoying or boring. On the side we had another Athena B plot that had nothing to do with the rest of the episode and didn't influence any of the main characters in any way. Eddie announced that he might consider moving to Texas which for now doesn't mean anything, nothing else of importance happened. And that was the mid-season finale! Like. Guys. The episode wasn't horrible, but for your "great fall finale"?
And Eddie STILL hasn't put even a little bit of work into processing his trauma around Shannon's death. He was told once by a stranger that he deserves nice things and that fixed him? He's ready to confront the conflict between him and Christopher now? Yeah, sure Jan.
Maddie is attacked in her home and gets abducted by a violent and dangerous criminal who has the intention to murder her? Wonder where I've seen that before. Oh right, it was on the same show and it happened to the same character. Cool. Glad to see I won't miss anything new when I don't watch 8b next year.
It's not even funny anymore and I sure hope they have a reason for this and they haven't just lost all their braincells over the summer hiatus. But we won't know if any of the conspiracy theories about impending cancellations or main cast members leaving are correct until sometime next spring.

Thanks to everyone who voted!
I will admit that I am a bit surprised Joey won. I thought Kaito would have been up there with Kaiba. Poor Fubuki deserved more love :(
Thankfully, the Majoume brothers had zero votes (good to see common sense prevail). I was shocked that Amon got votes though. This is the dude who was hooking up with his (adopted) sister and who despised his baby brother for taking his place as the favoured male heir. Christopher Arclight was a surprise as well. It hurts a bit that he got more votes than Fubuki 😭😭😭
If I had to choose the best brothers, it would be: Jonouchi, Fubuki, Bommer, Kaito and Rishid. I will say that Rishid's relationship with Marik is a bit...strange. It made me feel uncomfortable the way how Rishid submitted to Marik. While I do admire his devotion, it would be naive to say that this relationship is not impacted by the abuse in the Ishtar household, especially how Rishid was considered more of a servant than family in Father Ishtar's eyes. Nevertheless, Rishid loves Marik a lot so he deserves the honor and I don't mind him being in the top 5.
Next, the brothers who are overall good but have some problematic relationships/behaviours: Kaiba, Ryo and Christopher. I love my man Kaiba but the dude has some emotional issues which makes him a bit toxic at times. Even if you ignore the OG Yugioh manga and Death-T, you have to remember how Kaiba used Mokuba against Gozabura. How kid Kaiba told Mokuba that he can't trust anyone (I never realized it while watching but a commenter indicated this sentiment was influenced by how their family exploited them before dumping them at the orphanage) which is not exactly healthy advice - he is a kid having a bad time so Seto deserves grace. How Kaiba literally spent all of Battle City trying to forget his past. Kaiba loves Mokuba and will move heaven and hell for him...but the dude has problems.
Ryo is actually a pretty good brother; I think people see him as a bad brother because he uses tough love a lot with Sho. His stint with the shock collars as Hell Kaiser was terrible but then again Ryo was going through a young adult crisis and it's not like he forced Sho to duel. Still loses points though. Chris seemed like a good brother when I watched the sub. He was heartbroken when his little brothers were taken after his dad disappeared and he seemed like a happy guy in flashbacks. Chris was just screwed over with the Tron fiasco and adopted the cold demeanour of Daddy's perfect soldier. I am sure after the family reconciliation, he became better again.
Let me end with the Manjoume brothers. It's a shame we never really saw their characters again after the school duel episode. Chosaku gained respect for Jun and it would have been wonderful to see how the brothers' relationship would have developed after that. It's obvious that Jun still wants to earn their respect in season 4 so it's not like they hate each other, no matter what fanfics try to make me believe.
Anyway, thanks again for indulging me in this poll!
Best Big Brother in Yugioh
The family relationships is one of the best parts of the Yugioh series for me, with a lot of the rivals being big brothers. Hence this fun poll!
I only watched the first four shows hence why I am only going up to Zexal. I excluded twins, middle children, and filler characters. That's why Shark, Rua, Thomas, Zigfried von Schroeder and Amelda are not here. Rua and Shark act like big brothers but the dynamic is not quite the same as the others here. Thomas is a big brother to III but he is also a younger brother to V so he has middle kid syndrome. I was adding the filler character but I ran out of space lol.
Note:
Someone can be horrible to others and still be a good brother, so villains/antagonists can be good big brothers.
I am hoping for an objective, third-person opinion of the character. Meaning this is not about how the younger sibling feels about their brother but instead a critique on how well the brother actually loves his sibling. Sometimes siblings look at their brothers with rose-tinted glasses after all.
Propaganda
Personally, as much as I love Kaiba, my fav big brother has to be Jonounchi! The way how Joey treats women overall is so precious and he adores Serenity so much it hurts. Even better, Jonouchi never hurt other people or became a worse person for his sister's benefit. I really like the idea of a down-to-earth boy like Joey having a sweet baby sister instead of a brother like most of the guys on this list.

apologies, i literally just saw this because i haven't been on tumblr at all. i'd probably change the entirety of season 5 to be honest. before that even. but definitely everything that happened in season 5. its 4 am so sorry if im being really mean to ml. i actually really love her guys im serious. miraculous ladybug is my pookie. anyways i suppose here are some of my grievances:
marinette's main civilian conflict that drives almost every episodic plotline is the fact she just absolutely sucks at confessing to adrien. shes just truly dogshit at it. so one would think that if the first season set this up as her main Problem, she might change on this subject by the end. perhaps she would either learn to move on, or she would learn how to confess. no, the show makes adrienette the side that is canon and also marinette isn't the one to confess! adrien is the one who does it. at least adrien has some development here where he reevaluates his feelings in some way, but adrien confessing is absolutely nothing new for his character. i have been watching adrien confessing his love for ladybug for seasons. it isn't a conflict for him.
chat noir not being at the main fight with hawkmoth is actually crazy. im sorry. i don't care the justifications everyone has. "it has more seasons." it is just genuinely unsatisfying to set up a magic system with yin yang powers built around the romance/partnership where the whole point is that they're equals, and then allow one of them to wield both of them?! when the whole point is that hawkmoth is WRONG for wanting both of them, to want to use the wish at all. wielding both of them at once, quite frankly, should have serious consequences. they just shot every theme they ever set up in the foot. ignoring the fact chat noir is also hawkmoths son, it just doesn't make sense for him to not be there.
honestly they just wasted every potential fun dynamic they ever could have milked out of gabriel and adrien by killing gabriel before adrien OR gabriel learned anything about each other. there were so many avenues for interesting storytelling, but they decided to go with two au episodes to say "if gabriel learns adrien is chat noir, adrien is akumatized and the world ends." why do an au! why not ACTUALLY akumatize adrien in the main timeline, and make him possible to defeat? the world did not have to end, that was a writing CHOICE. how fascinating would it be for ladybug to assemble a superhero team because her partner was akumatized? or chat blanc to be a multi-episode or even a season antagonist. or use the sentimonster aspect in an interesting way. or vice versa, have adrien learn gabriel is hawkmoth and be genuinely conflicted about what to do. literally ANYTHING other than both of them never learning anything until gabriel kicks the bucket. every drop of that conflict was wasted. big L.
this is a nitpick but the entire point of the love square is that it is a subversion of the love triangle so why did they introduce two love triangles and then not even commit. why did they break up lukanette and adrigami in one episode. they ruined the subversion of the trope for shit that didn't even last. sorry that is so small but it makes me so mad for no reason.
uhhh develop the class in some way or cut them. i cannot take ladybug's entire squad its just too many of them and they're all archetype and one-note. and their superpowers are eh. spending a bunch of episodes giving the class jewelry was not fun for me. sorry.
Tell me, is there anything about Miraculous Ladybug that you wish had gone differently?
everything
#so much more. so much more. but this is off the top of my head#marinette keeping 500 secrets at the end of the season made me mad at first but honestly now its really funny#like the toxicity of it all like im sorry but is the answer to keep it secret forever?!#im obsessed with her. she should lie more.
