the same shit bothers me about many scp fan works (and some actual articles are guilty of this) and dont even get me started on the backrooms

people get so worked up about the material implications of these unreal things that they begin to rationalize about them. they try to build around the "rules" presented by them. i saw a "Vs. Wiki" article about the house on Ash Tree Lane. YOU CANNOT VS. THE house!!!

If you strip it from the context of the book, you ruin it! you take this rich and complex thing and reduce it to walls and staircases, as empty as it's described.

Make your simplistic monster in the backrooms. Make the anomalous object of abject misery before death/ suffering everlasting/ amnestics. At least give them some kind of meaning... The horror doesn't come from being trapped in the house or watching someone perish. I am not afraid of a random creepy thing that cannot be explained. I am not afraid of a labyrinth of yellow carpet (and certainly not of that wretched system of levels and almond water and pointless pointless "world building"). I am bored to tears of horror for horror's sake.

I know everyone has already said this, but it's genuinely distracting that the colour grading in Wicked is so dull.

Just came back from watching it in the cinema and while I can forgive it for the most part during the time spent in Shiz, as soon as they're in the Emerald City, it becomes frustratingly clear just how dull the colours in the film looks. The Emerald City is meant to be so bright and colourful and visually different from the rest of the film, it's meant to be magical and enticing to the characters and audience, but instead we have these really fun and whimsical looking costumes and set pieces that fall flat bc of the dull colouring.

Don't get me wrong, I still really enjoyed the film and the performances were amazing, but I'm just feeling frustrated that this rise in dull/"realistic" colour grading has now encroached into the musical film genre – especially in a film that is a spiritual prequel to one of the most famous technicolour films ever.

Level with me, Juno Steel fans: is it worth catching up?

I listened to Penumbra pretty much since s1 was still airing up until the end of s3. For many, maaaaany reasons, one of which being the long wait time between episodes/seasons, I dropped off after that.

I’ve seen mixed reactions since, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, just didn’t make me want to rush back in as soon as new eps dropped.

While I’ll always love what I’ve heard of the story thus far I’m pretty much emotionally checked out of it and could take or leave the final two seasons.

So two questions: 1. Worth it, on the whole? 2. How long between now and when the finale finale airs? Thank you!
