4 years ago while journeying through India, mesmerized by the stimulation of all of my senses all at once, one thing was able to pull me away into a different world and that was reading for the first time #EmotionalIntelligence by Daniel Goleman. This book changed my life w/ the very simple awareness and understanding of how emotions influence my thoughts/words/actions/attitude in both positive and negative ways; how the result of that affects others; how to understand other people's emotions and how it's affecting them and others, AND how to better manage those emotions, both ours and theirs, in our day to day and especially during extreme times of stress and pressure. Dan simply states as a matter of fact, not opinion: Out of control emotions can make smart people stupid. 😬🤔. It was a lot, and yet it was perfectly-timed with taking in India for a month the first time. Fewer books have influenced and completely changed my life for the better than this one. Last week, I had the honor of meeting Dan again, and guiding the opening meditation for his newest book release #AlteredTraits: the research and study of the benefits and myths of meditation. What a special treat it is to see our seeds of intention blossom even years later, when you're not even thinking about them. 😍🙏🏾✨ Thanks Goddess, and thank you @innergy_meditation for holding this meditative space for Miami. Seeing 250+ ppl come together to meditate and listen to research on meditation was impressive, inspiring and downright fun, to say the least. Look at you, Miami!! 😍🙏🏾🤗💚.
