hey ok this is a wip and idk if i'll ever finish it but remember that scene in the book where marie says everything will be fine, and when all this is over, when meursault's free again, they'll get married and they'll be happy, and how that never ends up happening? i'm very normal about that

The altar servers at mass this morning were a family I have known my entire life, basically my honorary younger siblings.

The oldest boy is like 18yo, 6'4". The second boy ~16yo, 6'1". The littlest boy is 8, hasn't hit 5'0", and is just starting to serve at Sunday mass. He was standing between his older brothers, clad in the tiniest cassock I have ever seen. His head didn't even reach their shoulders. His tiny lil baby face above the highneck collar was simply too much. He proudly carried in his big candle.

One of the handy things that comes with once being an alar server, is getting a vibe of how mass is before it actually starts.

throwback to when I was genderfluid and I was on discord and I was like “I’m not a boy anymore and I’m a girl rn but I’m dressed like a boy and I didn’t bring my backup femme clothes (usually a skirt)” and then several people dogpiled me because “skirts can be for everyone!” Like buddy I was just saying I was feeling like a girl again and needed clothing that made me feel femme this has nothing to do about the gender of clothing (which doesn’t exist) and has everything to do with “I would really like to dress femme right now!”

the best part of being raised so catholic that i was an altar server is that now when i’m forced to go back to church with my family, my brother and i can judge all the other clueless altar servers after they are ordered to eat a fallen communion wafer off the church floor
