ok back to general hcs bc i get too carried away with storylines
everyone writes iida as like someone who doesnt have access to technology but he sure as hell does
i feel like he would barely understand brainrot or he knows what they all mean bc he gets curious and goes on a deep dive
nontheless when you hear him skibidi in such a serious voice you literally choke on your spit im SERIOUS 😭
if you wanted to do a silly little tiktok trend he would do it with you but obv not the ones that are like "sending my man a spicy picture and posting his reaction" BC THATS LITWRALLT SMTH PRIVATE AND PEOPLE SHOULDNT POST THAT???(sorry guys im a bit passionate about this)
he tries to dance but hes so...stiff....
but its okay!!! he makes it up by spoiling you
idk if i wrote it before but hes such a good HUGGER
obv at first he's stiff, but HES SO BEEFY
my logic is muscle = beef = pillow
god its so...omg im drooling...like he's so soft when he relaxes...his hugs are so tight...i love them...
hes also so warm wtf like in winter youre literally clinging onto him
prolly bc he has to keep moving so his engines dont stall when its too cold outside
this boy is a workaholic someone save him
you physically have to drag him away from his work and give him some tea or snacks
he gets all grumpy when you do but hes eternally grateful bc he'd spiral and probably pull all nighters like in a row
i think i alr wrote about this but when iidas sleepy, HE GETS CLINGYYYY
god its so cute like when you guys are cuddling before bed and hes all sleepy, hes like a big baby i wanna hold him and kiss all over his face AHHHH

hes not that loud of a snorer but its not completely quiet
youre able to fall asleep tho
guys i literally was bedridden with an unknown illness like last month and i still have a stuffy nose
when youre sick, iida would do his best and TRY to nurse you to health
he's used to taking care of himself when he's sick, so how hard could it be to take care of you?
it was hard. especially if your fever kept fluctuating and medicine didnt work
he would stay up late and constantly wipe your forehead with a cold rag
ive been DYING to read and write headcanons of iida when reader is on their period
if you have BAD bad cramps(like mine where you're unable to move and you end up dry heaving), he'll be your human heat warmer
he hates to see you in pain so he tries to accomodate to your every need and request
you want snacks? hes buying them, you want cuddles? youre in his arms. you need pads or tampons? he'll buy them for you he is NOT ashamed
ok back to regular headcanons(lowk this is just shit id want to do with him)
on lazy days, you guys would do movie dates in each others rooms
he gets a little distracted sometimes and just stares at your face
youre just so pretty while youre watching so intently, hes stunned
the light from your laptop shining on your face makes you look unreal to him
so down bad that he doesnt realize he's getting closer and closer, and when you turn your head you guys accidentally smooches
that...that kinda turns into a makeout sesh..
ok listen hear me out. messy makeout sessions with nerds where they end up with their hair all messy, glasses crooked, face flushed and lips swollen and eyes heavy

WAIT. I'm losing my mind over that friends to lovers post you reblogged. All I can think about is college Albedo + mutual pining, romantic tension, and friends to lovers OTL
- Leaving little post it notes in his bag or inside the cover of his textbook to tell him to have a nice day or remind him to take care of himself because you know he has a tendency to work too hard sometimes!! And what if he meets up with Sucrose and Timaeus because they like to catch up and sometimes discuss their research or homework, and they see Albedo hiding a grin behind his books and think that he's solved a particularly difficult problem but it's just a cute little note you slipped him when he wasn't looking
- You stay up studying for exams with Albedo and he dozes off on your shoulder so you sit there afraid to move because you don't want to wake him but you're also dying inside
- The two of you go to the library to work but eventually get distracted so it turns into the two you sitting close together on a couch and reading each other sections from your favourite books
- I can also see him as someone who rambles about labs or new research he's absolutely taken by. Weeks later when you mention something he said before, he's a little surprised but you just tell him that you tried your best to understand everything because you know it's important to him and maybe his heart skipped a little
- Going off your headcanons: Albedo looking for little specimens and deciding it could be a fun outing with Klee so she can get some sunshine and you find the two of them in the park. You end up joining them and Albedo's heart softens seeing you and Klee laughing and smiling together!
- I remember this little headcanon you had where he snorts when laughing sometimes and imagine Albedo letting one slip out while he's with you, and Kaeya teasing him later on.
- Eventually, his friends start asking if the two of you are together because of the silent affection and teasing between the two of you. Albedo knows he likes you but he's scared a relationship will ruin everything and you're too important to lose even if it means he never says anything, but little did he know, you have feelings for him too.
Anyway, I hope you have a nice day and week! Sorry about this monster of an ask lmao
NEVER APOLOGIZE FOR ALBEDO
NEVER
Like... there are two characters that I seldom, if ever, turn down and that's my beloved Albedo and beloathed Scaramouche- If you don't want me to shut up about a topic??? Like just utter word vomit???? Bring them up. Bring them up, I dare you--
Okay okay okay okay now lemme just--
oops. 1.4k words. Enjoy your headcanon drabbles, courtesy of me being a hard simp for Albedo--
College au Albedo is pretty close to how he normally is! Brilliant, though having difficulties with making friends and keeping said friends, getting carried away with experiments (did you know if you're on good enough terms with the professors, they'll vouch for you so you can use the lab when there aren't classes using them?? Yeah)...so the friendship that you have with him is certainly the closest one he has.
It'd be the kind where you knock on his dorm or apartment door at 11:45pm with some takeout and your textbooks and he'll let you in without a second thought. You slip inside and settle on the floor next to the coffee table cross-legged, setting the food out as if you don't live a good walk away. He wasn't going to sleep any time soon anyway.
Like the kind of friendship where your hand instinctively slips into his to tug him towards something cool you found or to the café where you tend to go after classes.
Even after you get to your destination, you don't let go.
Now that that has been established--the little notes you slip into his bag or on his books really began as a little reminder. Despite his keen intellect, Albedo tends to easily forget things because his mind is always going onto the next thing. So, being the great friend you are, would just slip a note to remind him to take breaks, eat a snack, or that you're supposed to go and meet Sucrose and Timaeus after class to prep for the upcoming exams.
Neither of you really know when they began to turn into doodles or 'seemingly platonic declarations of adoration'. It's normal for friends to write a heart besides "Don't forget I love you!", right? Yeah.
The smile that makes it's way on Albedo's face is unmistakable the moment that Sucrose accidentally stumbles upon a sticky note carefully tucked in one of his notebooks.
-
Speaking of Albedo and his tendencies to get carried away with stuff, he often functions on...minimal sleep.
Those nights that you pop up at his place to study or just hang out, he often ends up dozing off, glasses sliding uncomfortably down the bridge of his nose and hair tousled out of it's usual style.
You never plan to stay the night (though even when he's awake he insists you do because it's not as safe at night to make the commute home), but you can't just disturb his sleep when it's the first time in a while that he's probably gone without taking a capsule or two of melatonin to help himself back into some semblance of a sleep schedule.
It's these moments that you remember just how soft his hair is and just how nice his shampoo smells.
Also that he's a cuddler.
You awake in the morning, back aching and eyes squinting against the sudden brightness of the world around you and limbs tangled with your best friend. He's unbothered because his face is half-shoved against the crook of your neck.
-
With the library, you often find yourselves in a little game. There's so much to learn and so, so many topics through the old vanilla-scent found between pages!!
So trips to the library end up with the two of you digging and sifting to find a topic you've never heard of, sit and read for 15 minutes, then proceed to explain said topic the best you can (without looking!!). It almost always ends up with a few chuckles from Albedo as you fumble explaining (and half-making up) information and Albedo's (unfairly) great short-term memory winning out.
Speaking of...between actually studying and your little topic games, Albedo turns to you to bounce off his current observations and ideas. Sucrose and Timaeus, though both in similar majors as Albedo, are busy with their own projects and research to the point that they don't really have the time to help with stuff as extensive as his research.
Annnnd, naturally, since you don't have anything better to do and are almost always by his side, you play that part!
You listen intently no matter how dense the subject may be and no matter if you do or do not have the background knowledge.
When you ask him to explain something you don't quite understand, he can't help but blink in surprise because you were listening??? And wanted to really understand? You prove time and time again (even days, weeks later) that you listened to every word that tumbled out during his rambles.
And of course you do! Albedo's one of the most important people to you, so it's only natural that you want to show interest in his interests.
Also it's pretty cool to find out those random bits of trivia (like lobsters and their repairable telomeres-).
--
Klee!!!
Oh man, the first time that you met Klee was a pretty hectic day for Albedo. Due to his Aunt Alice's incredibly busy schedule, he tends to care for Klee on days that he doesn't have class.
However, that particular day he just barely finished class before he had to go and pick her up from school.
With you in tow, that is.
Immediately, the little girl brightens up at your presence, no doubt excited from what she's heard about you (listening in to Albedo's conversations with Alice and the embarrassed tone in his voice when he realizes that he's let your name slipped again and now Aunt Alice wants to know about this particular friend who's captured dear little Bedo's attentions). He's relieved when Klee doesn't immediately reveal that.
From then on, Klee insists that Albedo invites you for every outing they have.
The cafe for a quick treat? The bookstore to sit and read a few books?
"Oh, please please please?? Can they come Albedo? Klee promises that she'll be good!"
Who is he to say no?
But above all, those park days are his favorite. You end up running around with Klee, lifting her up so she can reach a particular leaf on a branch, squatting down to see a bug or lizard that she's entirely enthralled by--all while Albedo sits under the shade of a tree on a blanket, sketchbook and pencil in hand.
You don't know it (even though there's many occasions where he's shown you his sketchbook), but the pages are filled with your smile.
-
Around you, Albedo's found that he's most comfortable.
There's no need to hide insecurities or hold his tongue when something particularly exciting comes to mind...nor does he hold back in his laughter. Especially with your insistence that his laugh is cute.
That scenario with Kaeya is entirely an accident, proof of just how used to your presence he's become.
It's a late night and you're out with a bigger group of friends than usual, some friends that Albedo's only known since the start of college, but definitely good ones.
With a drink in your hand you all sit at a large table, chatting about anything and everything when you crack a joke and Albedo snorts.
Not like a snort with his normally quiet chuckle, either.
Instead, he's laughing hard, tears gathering at the corners of his eyes and stomach hurting (and maybe it's because of the few sips of drink he's had) and he snorts. The moment the sound escapes him and he's trying hard to calm back down, Kaeya grins.
He's most definitely one of the first people to put two and two together.
After all, Albedo keeps to himself, even around them. But with you around? There's a certain spark of life that ignites.
-
It's no surprise that the two of you are close when all is said and done.
But that doesn't stop either of you from choking and cheeks from flushing when someone asks if you're a couple. It happens often--too often to count--and ranges between Kaeya's teasing comments and a few sweet words from an elderly woman passing by your table at the cafe.
And you laugh--you and Albedo--because no, no, you're just friends.
Right?
Then the light hits your features just right, illuminating you in a soft glow that makes your eyes shine and--
It's undeniable the way that he feels for you. The sudden quickening of his heartbeat is proof enough. You slide your drink towards him for him to try and he does the same, eyes unable to leave your lips as you take a sip and then smile.
Between the cracks of his appreciation, of this warmth, dread seeps.
Though...that was just over a week ago.
Sitting down back at his apartment, your head resting on his chest and your hands intertwined while you watch whatever's on tv, you shift. Your lips meet in a sweet kiss.
And Albedo wonders how neither of you managed to see it sooner.

Love Bite
Pairing: vampire!Dream / Clay x human!gn!reader
Summary: [Vampire!AU] Despite how deadly it may appear at first glance, you love your vampire boyfriend with all your heart, so when Clay goes a bit too long without a drink, you’re more than willing to help him.
Warnings: tw// mentions of blood & general vampire shenanigans
Word Count: 3.9k
A/N: requested by a lovely anon who wanted to see vampire dream! this was lots of fun to explore, and i hope you all enjoy! <3
Tumblr media
You scroll mindlessly along your mouse, your laptop screen illuminating your dim room with a pale glow as image after image pops up on your screen. Your assignment lies long forgotten on the side of your desk, the tab still open just a single click away.
“Whatever,” you mumble quietly to yourself as you click on another link. Your gaze briefly flickers to the calendar on your wall before you shake your head. “I still have another week to work on it—it’s fine.”
Letting out a sigh, you slump over onto your desk, pressing your cheek against the cool wood as you sweep your gaze over to your balcony window. Outside, the sky is dark, the vast expanse washed with a deep, navy hue as the stars begin to peek out from the shadows and gaze down at the bustling city below. It’s a little past midnight now, and despite how late it is, the streets are just as busy as ever. You only catch a small glimpse of the crescent moon hanging among them before your gaze drops to your balcony.
Yet again, it’s empty, completely devoid of life.
The sight makes you frown, and you tear your gaze away from the sight and back to your laptop, continuing your scrolling with a sulk.
It had been a little over four days since you had last seen your boyfriend. Not that you’re counting or anything, of course. It’s just that you’ve gotten lonely without him, and you’re starting to miss him more than you’d like to admit.
Having a vampire boyfriend and being a human isn’t always the easiest, but you’re more than willing to put up with it for him. You can still remember the day he had broken the news to you, having been fully prepared to sacrifice his life right then and there for you if you chose to call for a hunter. But you hadn’t—you chose to stay, to love him.
And love him you do.
There may be times where he has to disappear for a little while that leave you cold and wanting, but the time you do spend together more than makes up for it. He’s overwhelmingly kind, honestly stubborn, and always loves to put a smile on your face, no matter how bad of a day you may have had. You can’t possibly count how many times you’ve thrown yourself into his arms with the widest grin on your face, all just to feel him laugh against you with a soft kiss behind your ear. There’s no one else in the world for you, living or undead, and you are willing to wait for him. It’s embarrassing to think about, but you really would walk to the ends of the earth just for him.
Heat creeps up your neck at the thought, and you force it down with a huff, ducking your head back down again and staring at your assignment. You distantly think of your phone sitting next to your bed and the string of messages you had sent him a few hours prior, all of which remain unopened. Kicking your legs, you whine, burying your face into your arms upon your desk.
Tonight is just not your night, it seems.
Just then, you hear it—the unmistakable sound of nails tapping on glass.
Lifting your head, you blink, slowly turning to look over at your window. Squinting for a moment, you can barely make out the shape of a familiar silhouette standing on your balcony and leaning casually against the railing. His golden hair shines beneath the moonlight, and your heart leaps into your throat.
He’s here.
In an instant, you’re scrambling out of your desk chair and across the room. Fumbling with the balcony lock, you slide open the door with a gasp, the cool night breeze brushing against your cheeks with a soft caress. In front of you, the figure shoots you a crooked grin, his eyes flashing with delight.
“Good evening, sweetheart.”
Your heart melts at the sound of his ever-soothing, familiar voice, and you return his smile with one of your own. “Good evening to you too, Clay.” Scanning him up and down once, you gesture for him to come inside as you add jokingly, “You do know you don’t always have to come in through the window, right? I do have a front door.”
His grin only widens at your words, a soft chuckle tumbling from his lips as he ducks his head to step into your room. “I have a reputation to uphold as a vampire, you know?” he hums. The glint in his eye dances with mischief. “Twilight was the one who said that windows are the way to go.”
You raise an eyebrow at him, your lips twitching with amusement. “Are you really sure you want to use Twilight as your vampire role model of all things? Why not use...” You pause for a moment, then lift a finger. “Dracula?”
A grimace skitters across his face as he pulls the balcony door shut behind him. “Dracula may have been scary, but he was also an old man and, like, super creepy. At least modern vampire fiction makes us sound less gross.” His eyes gleam devilishly. “And also hot.”
You gulp, stepping back until your hand is brushing over the soft covers of your bed. “Well,” you ask softly, “do you think they got it right? The way they portray you guys?”
His lips split into a sly grin, his teeth flashing in the starlight. “I dunno, darling,” he murmurs, his voice dropping to a low whisper as he dips his head closer to yours. “You tell me.”
Your breath catches for all but a second before you’re gently pushing him away from you with a giggle. “Nice try,” you say, leaping onto your bed with a teasing grin, “but I’m not feeding your ego any more. You do that enough on your own.”
He feigns a wounded look, climbing into the space next to you with a hurt pout. “Aw, bummer. At least give me a kiss, then.”
For a second, you pretend to think about it, mulling the decision over in your head just to watch something needy spring to life in his eyes. Then, you smile, leaning in close to his face with your mouth hovering over his. “Just one.”
You only manage to see a sliver of his lovestruck smile before he presses his lips to yours, your eyelids falling shut. You can just barely feel his sharp fangs brush against the skin of your lip, and the thought makes you croon into his mouth. A certain fondness blossoms behind your ribcage, and your lungs almost feel as though they’re too tight to breathe. He’s cold against you, and when he lifts his hand to cup your cheek, you shiver at the feeling of his icy skin against yours. Everything he does sends a chill rushing down your spine, but when you part just a moment later, you already feel yourself missing his touch.
Brushing his nose over yours, you feel him inhale sharply against you, and the breath he lets out is positively trembling. “God,” he whispers into the side of your face, his voice rasping ever so slightly, “you smell so good.”
Your heart squeezes in your chest at his words, and you feel warmth blossom across your collarbones. “I’m flattered,” you say gently, reaching a hand up to press against his shoulder. Instantly, he melts into your touch as you subtly shuffle back across your bed away from him. “But you’re the one who told me I’m not allowed to let you drink from me.”
His lips part for a moment, and you catch a gleam of the moonlight flashing across his fangs. Swallowing, he runs a hand through his hair and sighs with longing. “Yeah, yeah, I know.” His eyes dart up to meet yours, his gaze swimming with a deep, drowning sense of sorrow. “You know that I’d never, ever want to hurt you, right?”
A smile tugs on your lips, sincere and true. “Of course I do,” you murmur, “and I promise you that you won’t, even if you did drink from me.”
You pause for a moment, then slowly reach a hand up to your shoulder. You don’t miss the way his eyes widen at the sight, and you almost swear you catch an inkling of crimson swirling within his viridian gaze as you lean your neck to the side. “It’s okay if you want to, alright?” you whisper, swallowing.
His eyes are glued to your neck, and you can almost see the storm that rages just beneath his skin. Your chest aches at the thought, knowing just how conflicted he must feel right now. When he doesn’t move, you drop your hand back down to the bed, your gaze focused intently on his.
“I trust you,” you say, pouring every ounce of honesty you can into your words. “Can you trust yourself?”
For a moment, he simply stares at you, his lips parted as his emerald eyes rake you up and down. They’re wide with hunger, an expression you had seen many times before over the months, but not one you had become fully acquainted with. You fidget a little under his intense gaze, and you’re just about to open your mouth again when suddenly, his hands are reaching for yours on the bed.
You gasp as he intertwines his cool fingers between your warm ones, your heart leaping for joy. You let your eyelids flutter shut as he leans forward to rest his forehead against yours, drinking in your sweet scent as your warm breath tickles his cold skin. You love the quiet moments like this, the enamoured silences that envelop the two of you in your own little bubble as the world seems to slow down. Sucking in a breath, he shudders at your touch, his hand squeezing yours.
“Oh, sweetheart,” he murmurs quietly for you and you alone to hear. “You’re too good to me.”
You smile at his words, your heart fluttering in your chest, but something uneasy sinks into the pit of your stomach at the bittersweet tone of his voice.
He didn’t answer your question, a voice whispers from the back of your head. Why didn’t he answer?
A moment later, you push the feeling away, nudging it back into the dark crevices of your mind. Instead, you choose to focus on the feeling of his skin pressing against yours, soothing and soft as you relish in the moment. The moon’s crescent frown seems to deepen from her perch in the sky, but she remains ever silent, only watching with her patient, pallid gaze.
You’re probably just imagining things.
Tumblr media
After that night, time passes by you at an achingly slow pace. Night after night passes without a single sign of Clay, and before you even know it, a week and a half has flown past you without so much as a call. You text him as often as you can, and more often than not, you do actually get a response. Seeing the notification of his name pop up on your phone screen makes you smile until your cheeks hurt, and you’re always eager to hear back from him, but you can’t help but miss him as the hours drag on.
An empty, hollow feeling sinks into your chest as you curl up in your bed, the blankets strewn around you haphazardly as you blink over at the closed curtains draped over your balcony window. You haven’t bothered to look outside for a few nights, now—you already know that he won’t be there, as much as you want him to be. Even now, you can imagine his grinning face and teasing pokes as clear as day. The loneliness gnaws away at you as you turn onto your side, facing away from the window.
You hope he’s safe no matter what he’s up to, right now. You know better than anyone that sometimes, he can be a little too reckless for his own good.
Letting your eyes close, you sink into your pillow, a galaxy of stars whirling around your head as you slowly feel yourself drift off into a murky dream. Flashes of bright grins and the sound of wheezing laughter trickles through your thoughts, and you sigh at the endearing memories that wrap around your heart. You can almost swear you feel a pair of hands wrap around your own.
All of a sudden, something prods at the back of your ear, restless and sharp. Wincing, you blink a sleepy eye open, your bleary mind sorting through the sounds in your head before landing on one.
Glass—that’s the sound of glass.
Someone is tapping at your window.
Your eyes shoot wide open, and in a whirlwind, you’re ripping the covers off your body and pushing open your bedroom curtains. On the balcony stands a hooded figure, his golden tresses just barely peeking out from beneath the low-hanging cloth. You swallow and grab onto the door lock, slamming it open just a moment later. You shiver at the night breeze nipping at your skin, but in that moment, you couldn’t care less about the cold, your focus entirely devoted to one thing and one thing alone.
“Clay!” you cry, your eyes desperately scanning him up and down. “Where have you been? I’ve been worried sick.”
He doesn’t respond right away, and instead, his hand reaches to the side to desperately grip onto the balcony railing, his knuckles turning white. Your eyebrows furrow with concern, and slowly, you take a step toward him. You haven’t even crossed the doorway separating the inside of your room to your balcony when he suddenly barks, “Stop!”
You freeze in place, your hand halfway reaching for his when he practically crumples against the railing, curling in on himself with a choked plea. “Wait,” he gasps, clutching at his chest with a ragged breath, “please. I’m—”
“Clay?” you breathe again, this time much quieter. You shuffle closer to the window glass, your toe just barely brushing against the doorframe. “Are you okay?”
All of a sudden, a snarl rips out of his throat, guttural and beastly. You flinch at the sound for a split second, the worry in your chest only making your heart shake even more. His grip on your balcony railing grows even tighter, and you don’t doubt that it’s going to leave a mark on the metal.
“Don’t come too close,” he pants, his thighs shaking beneath him. “I—I don’t know what I’ll do.”
You purse your lips at him, frustration and confusion digging at the sides of your stomach. “Then why did you come here?”
All is quiet, and he doesn’t respond. The only sound you can properly hear is his uneven breathing as he claws at the front of his hoodie, the fabric bunching beneath his touch. You flick your gaze over him again, and a cold realization suddenly washes over you.
“Clay,” you whisper, the tiniest hint of fear seeping into your voice, “when was the last time you had a proper drink?”
You are once again met with silence, but the way he suddenly stiffens does not go unnoticed by your watchful gaze. Something curls nervously inside your gut, and your lips curl into a frown as you dig your heel into the ground.
“Clay,” you say again, a little louder this time—a little more firmly. “How long has it been?”
There is a beat of silence. Then, he whispers so softly that it’s almost swept away by the wind, “...too long.”
A pang of sorrow shoots through you, a stone dropping into the pit of your stomach. You were right. He’s thirsty. A sigh escapes your throat as you open up your arms, beckoning him toward you. “Come here,” you murmur with all the softness you can muster. “Look at me.”
He shakes his head, and it’s then that you realize you haven’t seen his face this whole time. “Take off the hood,” you say gently. His shoulders tense at your request, and you quickly add a tender, “Please.”
His throat bobs as he gulps, and ever so slowly, his hands reach up to tug at his hood until suddenly, the moonlight is casting a glowing streak of silver across his face. Your eyes go wide.
His kind, lovely eyes, which are typically viridian green and swimming with adoration for you, are now painted a deep, scarlet red, his pupils dilated beyond belief as they lock onto yours.
In all the time you’ve known he was a vampire, you’ve never seen him like this before.
But strangely enough, you’re not afraid.
Instead, you gently reach for his hand, careful to only just lightly wrap your fingers around his. His gaze drops back to the ground again, and while you know he doesn’t have a pulse, if he did, you imagine that it would be going haywire right about now. “Oh, honey,” you whisper. “It’s okay. Look at me.”
Just as you begin to lead him inside to your room does he raise his chin once more, his jaw clenched tight as he takes in your soft, enamoured expression. As he steps inside, you reach behind him to slide the door shut before tugging him back toward your bed. Settling down on the mattress with a loose breath, you let go of his hand. His arms are still shaking at his side when he sits, and it’s then that you open your mouth again.
“Clay,” you say, your voice as clear as a bell, “you can drink from me.”
His crimson eyes widen, and the look he shoots you is one of pure, unadulterated panic. “I-I can’t,” he stammers.
“Yes,” you shoot back, reaching up for the collar of your shirt, “you can.” His eyes trace down the slope of your jaw before landing on the smooth skin of your neck, exposed and waiting for him. His Adam’s apple bobs, his hands squeezing into fists beside him. “It’ll be alright.”
“H-How do you know that?” he blurts, his nails digging into his palm. “What if—what if I lose control and hurt you?” His face blanches at the sight, and he slumps over onto his lap, hanging his head in his hands. “I can’t let that happen.”
You sigh, and he clams up at the softness of the sound. “And it won’t.”
A moment passes in aching, tense silence. You resist the urge to hug him, knowing that initiating any more contact with him would only make him panic even more. “Last time I was here,” he suddenly whispers, shattering the silence with his head ducked down, “you asked me if I trust myself.”
You blink at him as he slowly raises his head, turning his gaze to look at you head-on. “I don’t, [Y/N],” he whispers. “Not one bit.”
Your eyes flash in the darkness of your room, and before you can stop yourself, your mouth opens. “But I do.”
He goes stock still before you, and suddenly, the words are flowing from your lips in a rush, unstoppable and dripping with honesty. “I know you, Clay, and I know you won’t hurt me, no matter how scared you are that you might. I believe in you, and I believe in us.” You press your hand to your chest, your fingers curling over your beating heart. “I love how much you want to make sure I’m safe, but right now, I want to make sure that you’re safe, too.”
If you were looking a little closer, you would have seen the glossy sheen in Clay’s eyes as you tip your head to the side once more, your shirt collar tugged down your shoulder. You bite on the inside of your cheek, your fingers squeezing the sheets. His crimson eyes almost look soft in the glittering starlight of the night, and you feel your chest flood with heat.
“Please,” you croon, your eyes never leaving his. “Go on.”
He eyes you for a moment longer. Then, he’s crawling across the bed toward you, his shaking hand reaching for your shoulder. Gently, he turns you toward him, his other hand cupping your cheek. Slowly, you feel his nose brush against your jaw, something cold pressing against your skin.
“Thank you, darling,” he whispers.
Then, he sinks his fangs in.
A sting shoots up your neck at the feeling, just barely there and slightly sharp, but it’s most certainly nothing you can’t handle. Heat pools around your collar bones as he drinks and drinks, and you feel your eyelids flutter shut. His lips, which are usually cool and soft when they meet yours, feel oddly warm for once, and you sigh at the sensation of your blood pumping from your skin.
You aren’t quite sure how much time passes with him cradling you against him and his mouth lapping at the side of your neck, but soon enough, you can feel a slight dizziness flit around your skull. A soft whimper escapes your lips and instantly, he breaks away from you, his eyes wide with worry as you lean against him for support. You press your forehead against his shoulder for a brief second before sitting upright once more, blinking away the vignette tinting the edges of your vision. In front of you, Clay’s lips are stained with a faint shade of red, but his eyes have returned to the brilliant shade of green you know and love. He grips onto your shoulders a tad tighter than before, his hands reassuringly rubbing against up and down against your arms.
“Oh, [Y/N],” he breathes, his eyes frantically searching your face for any sign of harm. “I-I’m sorry if I was too rough or anything. I tried to be as gentle as I could, but god, you taste so sweet and I—”
You don’t let him finish his sentence. Before he can even blink, you’re pressing your mouth to his, your tongue swiping at the seam of his lips. The uncanny warmth of his lips against yours makes your head spin more than it was before, and you feel yourself smile against him when you pull back. You can taste the slight metallic tang of your own blood on your mouth as you flash him a grin, his eyes wide with adoration as he drinks in the sight of you sitting before him.
“I’m okay, Clay,” you say with an earnest look. Tilting your head at him, your tongue darts out to swipe at the corners of your mouth. “Are you?”
His eyes never leave yours as he reaches forward to slip your hand into his, his fingers slotting between your own. “Yes,” he murmurs. “Yes, yes, yes.”
His pale skin almost seems to glow in the dim light filtering through your balcony window, and he strokes his thumb over the back of your knuckles. Something inside you suddenly unravels as he tugs you into his chest, holding you close to him as his arms wrap around your backside. You feel him rest his chin atop your shoulder, and you melt into his cool touch. Just as you let yourself let out a loving, hazy sigh against his chest, you feel him whisper into the shell of your ear.
“Would you maybe let me... have another sip?”

*Kiss Me Sweetly
Tendou x f!reader
Angst with a happy ending, excessive fluff, friends to lovers, smut, dry humping
4.4k words
Tumblr media
The demon of Shiratorizawa had crimson hair and eyes to match. He was tall, composed of long limbs and sharp angles. His eyes were perpetually half-lidded and droopy with dark bags. He had a crooked smile made up of pointed teeth and a silver tongue that frequently got him in trouble with the school staff and students alike.
He wasn’t actually a demon, a nickname branded to him by cruel children in elementary school. He wasn’t a monster either, despite popular belief. Although he had learned to embraced his title as the Guess Monster, even learned to love the respect that came with it from his opponents. In the end, however, Tendou Satori was just tired. Tired of the people at this school, tired of the nicknames that stalked him though the halls, and tired of you.
You, who never stooped to your peers level with half-brained insults and nicknames. You, who had smiled and said hello every time you saw him since elementary. You, who encouraged him to pursue volleyball, the only thing he felt powerful doing. You, who sat through his seemingly endless chatter with an interested smile. You, you, you and your kind smiles, soft words, and gentle curves.
It wasn’t until high school that you started sitting with him at lunch. Eventually lunch transitioned into getting coffee every Monday after school. Then the coffee hangouts progressed to going to your house and reading the latest manga he was interested in every Friday.
Each moment with you was a breath held in anticipation for the other shoe to finally drop. When were you just going to get it all over with and stop acting like you cared about him? Enough of the pity, please. No more shared lunches. Stop giving him your notes when he fell asleep in class. He was exhausted for you.
Sometimes he let himself believe you. That you actually cared for him and enjoyed being around him. He convinced himself that your laughter was genuine when he teased you and made sardonic jokes about the world. He could go months relishing in your friendship before remembering it wasn’t real.
Being around him certainly didn’t benefit you. He had heard plenty of the rumors and he know you did as well.
I heard that he’s so controlling she’s too scared to actually leave him.
We aren’t even together, he thought viciously.
Well, I heard that she only puts up with him because she feels bad. Seriously, who actually wants to hang around that freak .
He wanted to scream that he knew. He knew you pitied him. He wanted you to leave but you never got the goddamn hint. You stuck by his side all through high school and now it was the last day and you were still here. Sitting next to him, sharing his earbuds. You could’ve walked home ages ago, but you were adamant about waiting at the train station until he got picked up.
“You can stop now,” he said, setting you free.
“Hm?” You looked up from your phone. “Oh, do you want to play your music?”
“No, you can leave,” he snapped. “No one is looking at you anymore; no one cares. You don’t have to be here with me.”
“Tendu-chan, I don’t understand,” your pretty lips were turned down in a frown.
“I don’t need you,” he lied. “You don’t have to be here to make me feel better. It’s over, we move on now and we forget about it.”
“What are you talking about?” Your voice was soft, confused.
“I don’t need your pity,” he said, finally getting the words off his chest after all these years. “I know you only stuck around because you felt bad for me. But I don’t need it anymore, high school is over. I don’t need you to hang out with me because you feel bad.”
His eyes were closed, and he relished in the peace of finally, finally spitting it out.
“Is that what you think?”
His eyes snapped open. You were angry? You should be happy. Happy you finally have an excuse to get away. A clear exit.
“Fuck you, Tendou,” you stood up, throwing his headphones at his chest. “That’s what you really think of me? That I just pity you? You think I’m so shallow that I hung around you to make myself feel better? Is that what you think?”
You stopped, sucking in a steadying breath while he stared up at you in shock. Yes, that’s exactly what he had thought.
“I-”
“No,” you cut him off swiftly. “You’ve said enough. I’m leaving. You can talk to me when you get your head out of your ass.”
Tendou watched you walk away until you disappeared around a corner. He had been wrong? But he almost always guessed right… right?
Had he really been so consumed by his self-loathing that he had misread the intentions of the one person who cared the most for him?
“Oh,” he let his head fall back against the bench and stared at the bright sky until his eyes watered.
Not many had witnessed it, but the demon of Shiratorizawa was indeed just a person. A person with emotions, as disguised as they may be. He hid behind this personality he’d crafted. The carefree, loud, perpetually cheerful demeanor that protected him from his peers and their wicked words. It had never protected him from you though. You saw through it as if it were glass, just a window to his misery.
“Oh,” he said again, standing up slowly. “I see now.”
He boarded the train and rested his forehead against the window, watching dark storm clouds creep over the city with the silence of a cat stalking its prey.
How fitting, for it to rain, he thought as the first drops splattered against the window.
—-
After three sharp knocks on your door, Tendou stepped back and held his peace offering close to his chest. He knew you were home because your rust bucket of a Toyota was parked in the driveway. His fingers tapped the plastic bag impatiently and it was nearly impossible to ignore the way his heart jumped when the door cracked open slowly.
“Ah, I see you’ve managed to pull your head free. Was it difficult?” You asked flatly, leaning against the doorframe with your arms crossed.
“Immensely, took Wakatoshi three bottles of lube,” he said earnestly.
You cracked a small smile, eyes flitting to the plastic bag in his arms. You raised an eyebrow as a silent question.
“Can I come in?” He asked. “It’s awfully cold out here, you don’t want me to catch a cold now, eh Y/n-chan?”
“Maybe I do,” you said, stepping aside to let him in.
“How cruel of you!” Tendou gasped, pressing a hand to his chest in feigned offense.
He stepped into your entrance way and you were quickly reminded just how tall he was. His lankiness only made him look taller as he loomed over you, eyebrows drawn together in determination. You stared back, suddenly nervous in the presence of your friend.
“I’m sorry for misjudging you,” he said, intense red eyes still locked on yours. “It was wrong and unfair of me to make such harsh assumptions.”
You weren’t used to him being this serious. He was always intense but the two combined were overwhelming.
“Let’s sit down and eat whatever you’ve brought,” you said, stepping around him to walk to the kitchen. “Then we can talk, yeah?”
He followed so close he accidentally kicked your heels a few times and you could still feel the heat of his gaze on the back of your neck. He set the bag on the table and unpacked the to-go containers.
“It’s from that place you really like,” he said. “By the school.”
“Oh, thank you, Tendou.” You accepted the chopsticks he held out.
Tendou gasped dramatically. “Such formalities, Y/n-chan!”
“Tendu-chan, then,” you corrected yourself.
“Much better,” he said praisingly.
He sat down across from you, eating only a few pieces of chicken before setting his utensils aside. He didn’t say anything, even as you ate your fill. It was clear he was antsy, fingers tapping a staccato beat against the table.
When you finally slid your plate to the side he scooted forward, resting his face in his palms expectantly.
“I forgive you,” you said simply.
Tendou’s signature manic grin took over his entire face and his long fingers tapped a rapid beat on the table in his excitement. Oh, how he had missed you during the two weeks he spent giving you space. He had never realized how much he enjoyed your presence until it abruptly disappeared. Tendou’d also had a few other revelations during the separation.
He said your name softly, so at odds with his typically loud demeanor. He was his most authentic self in your presence, he had come to realize. You looked up from packing up the remaining food and tilted your head.
“We are still friends, right?” He asked with a tinge of nervousness.
“Were we ever?” You countered, not angrily.
“Yes,” Tendou answered quickly, reaching out to grab your hand. “Of course, it was my mistake to ever think otherwise.”
You looked down at his hand on yours and ran a finger over the wrappings he kept on his two fingers. He watched you keenly, fingers twitching at your delicate touch.
“My, my,” he said with a sly grin. “What is little Y/n thinking about?”
You shot him a bland look, dropping his hand pointedly. “You’re disgusting.”
Just like that any tension between the two of you vanished with his boisterous laugh. He wiggled his wrapped fingers in your face enticingly until you smacked them away.
“I brought the latest chapter Shonen Jump,” he said animatedly, reaching into his bag. “I thought we could read it together.”
It was a Friday, after all.
“Sure, let me put this food up,” you said.
Tendou grinned eagerly, bouncing to his feet while you brought the food to the fridge; already talking a mile a minute about a different manga he had just finished. You couldn’t stop the smile that worked its way onto your face, you loved his aimless rambling. Where you more reserved, Tendou was outgoing and could fill any gaps in the conversation you left behind. It worked well for the two of you.
While watching Tendou chatter away you wondered if you had been too harsh at the train station. Clearly there was an underlying insecurity that convinced him you didn’t care about him. Was it his history of bullying? Before you had really gotten to know Tendou, it was hard to imagine him as anything but carefree and untouchable. You knew he would tell you eventually. Perhaps today, perhaps tomorrow. Over the past few years you had found the best way to get Tendou to open up was to say nothing at all, his rambling always ended up on touchy topics anyways.
Tendou held out an earbud for you once you sat down on the couch beside him. You placed it in your ear and smiled when you recognized the playlist the two of you had put together. The only time Tendou could stay quiet longer than five minutes was when he was reading. You settled into the familiar routine, sitting close to him while he angled the pages towards you so you could both read. Tendou was such a fast reader you were forced to learn to speed read as well in order to keep up with him. Now, you were perfectly synchronized.
Today, however, he couldn’t stop glancing over at you. Ugh, he suddenly so acutely aware of everything you did. Every time you shifted to see a panel or readjusted the earbud he felt his heart pickup and he was too aware of every movement he made. His limbs felt too long and awkward, his face felt too warm, and oh my god did he brush his teeth this morning?
Tendou swallowed nervously, for once relieved for the chapter to finally end so he could put some space between your bodies. He stood up abruptly, wincing when the earbud was ripped out of his ear.
“Ow,” you held your ear. “Is something wrong, Tendu-chan?”
“Of course not, dearest Y/N,” he put on his widest grin, bowing down and extending his hand. Fuck, your nickname for him was not helping his nerves. “I was just wondering if you would like to accompany me to the bathroom.”
“Ew, what is wrong with you?” You smacked his hand away.
“Well, you did ask,” he chirped cheerfully before prancing down the hall.
You sighed, replacing the earbud while settling into a more comfortable position. After several minutes you realized Tendou had yet to return. Frowning, you stood up and went to the bathroom to find the door still closed.
“Tendu-chan?” You knocked softly. “Everything okay?”
“Oh, Y/N,” Tendou popped his head out from your bedroom. “I was looking at your photo wall.”
You raised your eyebrows, following him inside. “Yeah? I have quite a few.”
It had been a hobby of yours to have at least three pictures of each of yours friends on your wall since elementary school. Since you started hanging out with Tendou at the beginning of high school, his section had amassed a great deal of photos.
“I forget you’ve never been in here,” you smiled, watching Tendou closely.
You had never seen such an open expression on his face before. His eyes flicked over the photos of him taped to your wall quickly, as if he couldn’t decide which to focus on.
“I didn’t realize,” he said softly.
“Hm?”
He tilted his head back, sliding his eyes to look at you. “I didn’t realize I still had a safe place, a paradise.”
“You’ll always be welcome here, Satori,” you reached out and squeezed his bicep. “I promise.”
“I feel so blind, Y/N,” he closed his eyes, head still tipped back as he took in a slow, study breath. “I thought I had lost everything when volleyball ended. My friends, my passion…”
Crimson eyes locked on your own, the intensity of them so startling you sucked in a sharp breath.
“But I still have you,” Tendou said, slowly turning his body to face yours. “Right?”
“Of course,” you answered.
“Good,” he nodded. “Good.”
His head turned back towards your wall of photos, fingers reaching out to snag at the bottom of one. You looked closer and saw it was a picture of the two of you at one of his games. You had jumped onto his back to hug him and your friend had barely managed to get the shot. The blurry grins on your faces were bright and excited.
“Can I?” He asked, tugging lightly on the corner.
“Take it, I can print a new one.” You said.
He peeled it off carefully and flashed a grin at you.
“Thank you,” he reached out, placing his hand on the top of your head, ruffling your hair messily.
You knocked his hand away and brushed your hair back into place with a huff. Tendou laughed loudly, sprawling backwards onto your bed with a thump. He looked at the picture once more before sliding it into his pocket. He folded his hands behind his head and looked up at you with his signature sleepy smirk.
“Make yourself comfortable, I guess,” you said.
“Aw, you’re so considerate,” Tendou crooned, stretching his arms out until his shirt road up to reveal his toned stomach.
You glanced down at the exposed skin and blushed, looking away quickly. Tendou noticed, of course, and couldn’t stop the mischievous smirk on his face as he reached out and grabbed your hand.
“Tendou-“
“Oh, hush,” he chastised lightly. “I’m just getting you to sit. This is your bed, after all.”
You sat down on the edge, watching as he pulled your hand to his chest. He examined your fingers faintly before weaving his fingers with yours. When your fingers spasmed nervously he gripped them tighter.
“I had a lot of time to think,” he sighed, eyes still fixated on your joined hands, before elaborating. “While we were apart.”
You stayed quiet, waiting for him to continue with bated breath.
“I like you, Y/N,” his eyes seemed to bore straight into your soul.
“Tendu-chan-“ You started to pull your fingers away.
One second you were sitting at the edge of the bed and the next you were pinned beneath Tendou’s body. His breath tickled your lips and his hands kept your arms above your head by the wrists.
“Please, let me say this,” he pleaded, eyes switching between yours and your lips.
“You made high school bearable for me,” he said, pushing up until he was knelt between your legs instead of having you pinned. His hands rested on either side of your ribs. “I didn’t appreciate you enough at the time but-“
His fingers clenched in the sheets. “I do now, I appreciate you so much. Everyone else thought I was a monster, demon, whatever. It doesn’t matter anymore but when it did you were the only one who made it all easier. Does that make sense?”
“What about Ushijima? Your teammates?”
Tendou chuckled, letting his head droop between his shoulders. “Of course them, silly Y/N. They didn’t really have a choice, hm? I was on the team, you don’t really get to pick who’s there. You went out of your way to befriend me, to make sure I was okay before you even knew me.”
You looked up at him, ignoring his little sniffle and the way he rubbed his nose against his sleeve subtly. You sat up slowly while Tendou watched you closely with his head tilted.
“You’re my best friend, you know that right?” You asked softly.
He nodded.
“You will always be welcome in my home and I promise I will always want you around. You’re right, whatever those people used to say about you doesn’t matter. They were needlessly cruel and I wish I could’ve stopped them from hurting you,” you reached up, cupping his cheek gently. “You’re important, Tendu-chan. You’re caring, funny, and genuine. I love hearing about your favorite anime and your coolest blocks. I really do.”
“Ohhh, is little Y/N crying for me?” He cooed, using his sleeve to wipe away the tears gathering on your lashes. “Sweet thing.”
“I’m serious,” you said, letting him wipe your cheeks.
“I know,” he squinted at you. “Will you let me try something?”
From the way his crimson eyes kept flickering down to your lips, you could easily guess what he wanted to try. You nodded mutely, breath catching excitedly as his face drew closer.
The first touch of his lips felt like a static shock. Your eyes fluttered close as he pushed a little closer, experimentally moving his lips against yours. He let out a low groan into your mouth, pushing forward until you were laying down again. The hands that had been by your sides now moved to tangle in your hair and cup your face while his hips settled comfortably between your thighs.
The first brush of his tongue across your bottom lip sent fire licking up your spine which eventually settled as a fluttering warmth in your stomach. Your hands came up to grab his arms, nails leaving shallow crescents on the pale skin of his biceps through his shirt. Parting with a nip to your bottom lip, Tendou licked his lips as he looked down at you.
The sight of your flushed cheeks and kiss-swollen lips sent a thrill of exhilaration through his chest.
“Well?” He asked, a cocky grin smeared across his lips.
It was like you were seeing Tendou in a brand new light. Before he was just your friend. You always knew he was good-looking but now, you were supremely aware of his shapely lips, cut jaw, and broad shoulders. His hips between yours was as intoxicating as the elated look on his face.
“Stop looking so smug,” you huffed, pulling him down to your lips again.
Laughing softly, Tendou happily obliged you in another sensuous kiss that left you dizzy and breathless. He swallowed your gasp when he experimentally rolled his hips into yours.
He pulled back, eyes lidded with a dazed smile, and tilted his head. “Is that okay?”
You nodded eagerly, leaning up to capture him in another kiss. With a sly smirk he pulled out of your reach, head tilted expectantly.
“Yes, Tendou, now please get back to it,” you snapped, secretly appreciative of his need for clear consent.
“There we go,” he murmured, stooping back down with a thorough roll of his hips.
A groan was shared between both of your open mouths as his hips fell into a steady rhythm, slowly undulating against you. Sighing out his name, you let your head fall back while Tendou trailed kisses across your jaw and down to your throat.
“Fuck, Y/N, you’re so perfect,” he murmured breathlessly, leaving wet, open-mouth kisses down the column of your throat. “Feel so good, hah-“
His clothed erection lined up perfectly with your core, sending searing electricity flickering through your stomach. Your hands went from gripping his arms to tangling in his hair, tugging lightly at the crimson strands.
“Haah-ah,” you moaned at a particularly accurate thrust that had his entire length dragging along your clit. “Satori, please.”
“Oh, fuck,” Tendou sighed into your ear, pushing aside your hair so he could hide his face in the warmth of your neck. “You’re so hot, gonna make me cum in my pants. Keep making those pretty noises for me, sweet thing.”
You nodded along eagerly, pulling his head away from your neck so your could attach your lips again. Steady thrusts began to lose their rhythm as both of you got closer to completion. Tendou let out a throaty groan, wrapping his lean arms around you tightly so he could rub his hard-on against your core with more force.
“Satori, ah!” You cried out at the stimulation.
He clashed his mouth against yours messily, teeth clicking while he gasped against your lips.
“M’ close,” he clenched his eyes shut.
“Me too, me too,” you whined, hips writhing up against his desperately. “Satori!” Tendou practically growled at that, mouth claiming yours assertively. You shouted his name again while your orgasm wracked through your body, leaving you sensitive and tingly as Tendou chased his own release. He came with a low moan into your mouth, hips rolling gently through the aftershocks.
When he finally slowed to a stop he went completely slack on top you. Tendou mouthed gently at your neck, fingers petting your hair as you both caught your breath. You released his hair and unclenched your stiff fingers a few times before wrapping your arms around his shoulders.
Curious hands slowly pushed beneath your shirt, tenderly exploring your body while Tendou continued to leave lazy, open-mouthed kisses on your neck. His handsiness didn’t bother you since you were also busy tracing the muscles of his back.
You whined when he landed another quick kiss before pushing off of you.
“I gotta clean up,” he said, darting down to kiss you again.
That reminded you of the uncomfortable dampness in your own pants so you got up as well. You found a pair of sweatpants that he could fit into from your brother and set them by the bathroom door for him. By the time you came back from changing he was already lounging in your bed again, your brother’s sweatpants an inch or two too short  above his ankles.
Tendou’s expression brightened when you walked in, his eyes wide to match his grin as you climbed in to lay next to him. He was quick to wrap his arms around you again.
“Well?” He asked.
“Hmm?” You responded, face pressed against his shoulder.
“What are we now?” He leaned back so he could see your face.
You stretched languidly, tossing a leg over his hips and an arm over his chest before responding.
“What do you want this to be?”
“I want you to be mine,” he answered honestly.
“Then I’m yours,” you said simply, kissing the hinge of his jaw.
“My girlfriend,” he said adoringly, twisting to his side so you were facing each other.
You laughed softly, letting him cup your cheeks so he could pull you into an unhurried kiss. His tongue pressed past your lips to sweep along your teeth and slide hotly against yours.
“I’m pretty great at apologies, huh?” He boasted.
“Oh, shut up,” you groaned, pushing him away by his forehead.
Tendou let you shove his face away with a quiet giggle before brushing your hand away so he could attack your neck with more kisses.
“You better not be leaving marks,” you threatened halfheartedly, too caught up in the addicting sensation of his lips on your body to be serious.
Tendou eyed a particularly red spot, pressing a light kiss to it. “Of course not, baby.”
“That didn’t sound too convincing.”
“Well… it might fade,” Tendou circled the spot with his finger. “I kinda like it.”
“Satori!”
“Whaaat?” He crooned. “It lets everyone know you’re mine.”
“Ugh, you creep,” you murmured, accepting a soft kiss.
Tendou giggled cheerfully, squeezing you closer to him affectionately. He left a flurry of kisses across your cheeks and nose, sighing happily.
“I love this,” his hands roved over your body. “Getting to touch and kiss you as much as I want.”
“Mm, me too.”
Tendou’s lean body was beautiful, so was his blush when you informed him of this. He groaned and hid his face in the crook your neck.
“I’m serious!” You insisted, pulling his face from your neck so you could look at him.
“I know you are, thank you,” he mumbled, avoiding your eyes.
“Aww, are you embarrassed?”
Tendou scoffed. “Tch, of course not. I’m a catch, a total babe.”
Laughing, you let him bite playfully at the hinge of your jaw for a moment before shoving him away so he couldn’t leave another mark. Tendou settled down and was happy to let you brush your fingers through his hair until it lost it’s shape and started to fall over his forehead.
“Mmm, sleepy,” he sighed, practically purring as you massaged his scalp.
“Go to sleep then.”
He hummed, twisting his body until he was on his stomach with half of his body draped over yours. You smiled warmly, of course Tendou was a clingy sleeper.

*NOT A MINOR (just lettin you know)* I just want a mean dilf Bakugou just spanking the reader because they where being a little brat today (also I love your writing I’m sending you lots of hugs and hope you have a good day❤️)
omg thank you so much 🥺🥺🥺
-
“I hate you.” You know it’s petty and dumb and childish, but you can’t help it! Yeah, you were racking up on his card today, but he said it was fine!
But he put a limit to your big spending when you asked for the same exact shoes in not only two or three, but five different colors. You couldn’t choose! Who could blame you?
Bakugou put his foot down on that one. He was already tired and ready to go home and lay down and cuddle with his spoiled rotten princess. But no, you just had to drag him out to the fancy mall on his day off and blow through his money.
Which he didn’t mind. If anything, he encouraged it. He had too much, you wanted a lot. Why not?
But this request was just ridiculous. He tried to reason with you calmly since he was in public, but anyone could see the vein popping beside his white and blonde hairline. He tried to convince you to only get three pairs, princess, especially since each pair cost 350$ alone—
You basically threw a temper tantrum. Stomped your foot and pouted your lip, crossed your arms and snarled at how you wanted—needed—all five. People were starting to look, questioning if that was Pro Hero Dynamight and the brat he always dragged with him.
Done with your shit, Katsuki snatched you up by your wrists and out of the store. You were whining the whole time, complaining about how you weren’t done shopping yet. He had pulled you into a secluded corner, grabbed you by the throat and practically snarled at you, his glasses sitting on the bridge of his scrunched nose.
“We’re going home. You’re not getting shit else, but a punishment. Fix your fucking attitude, before I have to check that shit in public. Go.”
He pushes you out of the corner with a grunt. You stumble, staring up at him with wide eyes as you realize that you’ve really done it now.
The ride back is scary. Bakugou is usually yelling and grunting when he’s upset, but he’s silent. No matter how low you turn the radio down, it just feels too loud and suffocating. His lip is twitching and his hands spark every once in a while. You swallow, glancing over at his form, not realizing that you’ve already pulled up to the house.
He gets out quickly, barks for you to stay there, as he hauls your other bags you already had into the house. When he returns, his glasses are pushed into his hair, forearms bulging as he rolls up his sleeve. He stands at the hood of his sleek black and orange car, crooks two fingers at you to get out.
You do so shakily, head already tucked between your shoulders as you stare intently at your feet. Bakugou says nothing, just grabs your arms quickly and spins you until your upper half is shoved on top of the hood, hands splayed out beside you. You croak out a question of what he’s doing, when he flips your tiny little skirt up and lands an immediate smack against your ass.
You cry out, pretty nails scraping the paint off the car as you look over you shoulder. Bakugou is already staring at you, huffing quietly as he rubs a large hand over your stinging ass.
“I-I’m sorry, Daddy. I’m sorry for being a brat!” You already know what he wants to hear. You hope he’ll go easy on you this time, but you doubt it. Doubt he’ll give you mercy when he only frowns deeper and grits his teeth.
“Yeah, you should be fucking sorry, you rotten fucking brat.” He snarls, snaking one hand into your hair to shove your face down onto the clean hood. He starts slapping your ass with every sentence, every word, every syllable. It’s torture, and you try to silence your cries with a bitten lip, but it becomes inevitable after ten smacks.
“Wanted to embarrass me in public, hah? Now look at you. Getting fucking spanked like the brat you are in public.”
“My neighbors might not be able to see you, but they’re definitely hearing your pathetic crying.”
“Do you like it? Like how it feels to be embarrassed in public? Like having this slutty ass out and spanked red all over some ugly fucking shoes?!”
You’re sobbing and blubbering out apologies the entire time. When you try to swat his hand away, he pins your wrists in one large hand and goes even harder with the other. The punishment almost feels never ending.
“Ya fucking learned yet, brat? Or should I add another 20?”
“I-I-I’m sorry! I’m s-so so-sorry, Daddy!” Your cries are basically unintelligible, cutting him off quickly before he gets any ideas. Bakugou only hums, lightly taps your sore cheeks and places your skirt back in place. He lets go of your wrists, taps the base of your spine to signal you to get up.
“Cmon, brat. I don’t have all day. Get your ass up and tell me you’re sorry again in the house. But on your knees this time.”

IT'S RAINING (DEMON) MEN!!!
I asked my sister for a prompt to get my creativity going. She played this song. Nuff said.
Intro:
It's been two months since the MC went back to the human world, and the demon boys are getting desperate to see their human… How desperate are we talking? Desperate enough to try their hands at some questionable sanctioned magic to get themselves to the human world... Good news is, they'll get there!
Just probably not in the way they expected. 🤷‍♀️🤭
Lucifer
He is going to KILL Mammon the next time he gets a hold of him…
He had no intention of taking an impromptu trip to the human world. He actually has clearance to go there when he needs to, thank you, so he didn't need to use any underhanded tricks to go between realms...
But he had made the mistake of walking too carelessly into Mammon's room while looking for a book he stole and stepped on a sigil half-obscured by an old pizza box…
...which is how he ended up falling from the Devildom to the human world at an unimaginable speed. It was like someone was yanking him to the Earth by the goddamn foot!
The unsuspecting MC was just out window shopping when suddenly an empty parked car across the street was utterly decimated by his falling body…
Of course, HE was fine, but that poor car never stood a chance… 😣 They had to help Lucifer pry himself out from the caved-in metal…
While he watched the MC fuss and try to brush all the broken glass off of him, Lucifer had only three things in mind:
(1) They look so cute when they're worried about him for practically no reason...
(2) Since he's already here, he may as well keep them company for… oh, a couple days at least?; and
(3) He was going to punish Mammon slightly less brutally than usual this time… May just fling him into a car too and leave it at that. 😌
Mammon
Okay, Mammon isn't stupid. He can do magic, he swears!!
He's just… rusty. Yeah. That. 🙄
That's the only reason the sigil that he haphazardly drew in his bedroom flung him to the human world like a catapult instead of neatly teleporting him like it was supposed to...
When the MC woke up that morning, they heard something familiar… Sad, pitiful little cries for help from outside their bedroom window….
Really only one person sprang right to their mind.
When they ran out to check, they indeed found Mammon tangled up in a tree like a wooden spider's web... He wasn't even facing upright!
It took them a half hour to detangle their poor demon from the tree… They almost gave up halfway through and had to call the fire department to pull him out like a trapped kitten... 🤦‍♀️
To say that Mammon was pretty clingy after they got him down hardly covers it. They were now his savior! (Yet again)
They had better not have any plans for the next day or two because he's going to want to spend every second he can with them…
Or at least until Lucifer finds him and drags him back home by the back of the neck… 😰 (Hope they don't mind housing this figurative fugitive for a while…)
Leviathan
So in his defense, he didn't actually think the "Return to Lover" spell he saw on TSL would work, but he got so desperate to see MC again that he half-jokingly tried it one night...
Unfortunately for him, he also forgot that Simeon tends to use a lot of real-world influences in his writing, so… 😥
He hadn't wanted to be dragged to the human world quite so violently, and let's say he is NOT a graceful faller (arm flailing, girly screaming, spinning all over the place, etc.).
Only when the smell of beach sand and sea salt hit his nose did he begin to calm down a little and get a good look at the surroundings he was hurtling towards… The ocean!
Video game logic dictates that if you land in water, you should be fine, right?? (Well, that's not how it works in real life, but when you're in a super sturdy demon body, there can be expectations 🤷‍♀️)
The MC was not expecting someone to splash down into the water next to them like they fell out of Heaven, nor for them to enter the water with the poise of an Olympic high diver…
They REALLY weren't expecting to see Levi surface beside them, demon form in the all it's sea serpent-y glory, totally stoked that the stupid thought he had actually brought him to them!
… Of course, he also has no idea how to get back, but who actually cares about that?? Lucifer will figure out he's not in his room eventually. For now, there wasn't anything in the ocean or beyond that could separate the MC from their adorkable otaku… 🤭
Satan
Okay. Teleportation magic is hard. Very, very hard. It basically requires bypassing several different physical laws by breaking down one's essence into a transmigrational-uh...
Whatever, the point is it's difficult, and mistakes happen even to the best of us.
Satan genuinely thought he triple-checked the symbols on his sigil… He must have made a crooked stroke or forgot a step in completing the seal properly… Either way, the spell he intended to bring him right to MC might have made a… slight miscalculation.
Rather than effortlessly stepping out beside them, he found himself hurtling towards the human world like a falling comet… If he hadn't known a few spells that could slow down his fall, he'd have had a pretty nasty meet with the ground... 😣
The MC was visiting a local park when pretty much everyone in their vicinity heard the sound of trees rapidly snapping nearby. At first, they were concerned it was a large animal… and then Satan stumbled out covered in twigs and leaves!
They, of course, ran over to see if he was alright, and the cheeky bastard just denied that anything had gone wrong. "Apparently," this was all according to plan…
(Truthfully, he'd rather call Mammon some unsung genius than admit that he got the spell wrong, even if it was complex… 🙄)
Truthfully, Satan wasn't going to try making a return sigil for a while, so at least he and MC could be together for a time! Do they know if there were any cat cafes nearby??
Asmodeus
Asmo was PISSED at Solomon, furious even because he wouldn't help him sneak away to go see his beloved human! Didn't he know how hard the distance was on him?? The nerve!!! 😤
So, to him, it only seemed fair to steal some of the sorcerer's tomes and equipment… If he wouldn't help him in person, he could at least (unknowingly) do so in spirit!
… He just wasn't expecting the spells to be that difficult. Asmo is decent enough at magic, but some of those explanations were honestly beyond him… They bordered well into Satan or even Lucifer territory...
He tried his best, he really did, but the gentle teleportation that he was after actually flung him to the human world like he had been shot out of a cannon…! And while it was raining in the human world too!! 😫
The MC was walking home in the rain, umbrella and everything, when they heard screaming from the sky...
Thankfully, Asmo remembered just enough magic to cushion his fall… But that didn't save him from landing right into a massive puddle right next to the MC, effectively soaking them both.
On any other day, he'd have been angry that his expensive clothes were covered in rainwater, but that day? The second he saw the MC was there (and also tastefully soaked in water 😏), he just flung himself at them with a squeal of delight!
The MC had to convince him to let them get inside before they got too cold, but every step of the way was full of laughter and cuddles between the two of them...
Asmo would have to call Solomon to fess up to his theft, but hey, he got to see MC out of it! The bruised tailbone and ruined clothes were more than worth a treat like that.
Beelzebub
Beel genuinely wasn't intending to go to the human world; he really wasn't. He hated the distance like everyone else, but he knew better than to mess with magic that dangerous…
What happened was that he was walking by Satan's room one day and he smelt something inside… apples. A lot of them. He just couldn't help himself…
He didn't know that Satan was using those apples as test subjects for his teleportation magic… Unfortunately, the first fruit that he grabbed actually put him right smack dab in the middle of an incomplete sigil…
Beel kind of blacked out for whatever happened during the next part, it happened really fast, but it was the smell of more apples that woke him back up… and pears, peaches, pineapples, plums-
It's a farmer's market. Beel fell into the apple stand of a farmer's market….
The MC was out shopping there when they heard two things: the screams of shock and horror from the end of the market and a familiar voice shouting, "I'M HUNGRY!!!"
Of course they ran towards the screaming, defying all survival instincts (because who else are we talking about here?) and found Beel, mid-rampage, eating every scrap of food he could get his hands on…
But he actually stopped when he heard them shout his name. That's right, he stopped eating right then and there to turn and see them in the crowd... Oh, the smile that popped up on his face could have reignited a sun!
Beel had no idea how he got there and even less idea of getting back, so the MC had to eventually call Lucifer. They did get to spend the day with their gentle giant, though! (Just don't mention the massive bill for all the fruit he ate… 😣)
Belphegor
So here's the story. Belphie was sleeping in the library, as he sometimes does, and the next thing he knew, he was free-falling through the sky.
No, he didn't know what happened either. Maybe he rolled onto a stray sigil Satan left behind. Perhaps he was accidentally summoned to the human world. Mayhaps he even dreamed about MC so hard that it broke a rift in space-time to try and bring the two together...
Who the hell knows? His more pressing concern was less how he got up there and more where he would end up.
Unfortunately for him, all he could see below him was a human residential area, and even worse yet, it looked like he was hurtling towards someone's roof… The MC's roof, to be exact!
MC was incredibly lucky to have already been up and starting their morning routine when the seventh-born came crashing onto their bed. Who knows how much damage he could have done if he had landed on them...??
That didn't change their shock to see Belphie, covered in plaster and wood fragments, sitting himself up while looking more annoyed to have been woken up than that he… you know... crashed through their roof...
He was grateful to have popped up close to them because it would have been pretty awkward to land in some random human's room. The MC was… less enthused that they now had some significant repairs to do.
Smooth-talker he is, Belphie not only managed to convince them that Lucifer would take care of the payment (which he would) but also not to call him just yet. Not until he could get himself cleaned off and maybe have a nap or two… Say, they weren't going anywhere today, right? Good. 😏

A Pirate's Life for a Prince (Part 5)
Summary: Roman was a dashing Captain, content with his exciting life out at sea, diving head first into adventure both on and off land. He wouldn't give up his life for anything, and yet he found himself...lacking something. He was never sure what.
When he meets Virgil, a seemingly common traveler in an old tavern, that lacking feeling in his chest goes away for the first time in a long while. So surely there's no harm in offering the stranger and his friend a ride, right?
Notes: TW for Remus being Remus, threats of violence
thank you again to @cheshirevalentine for editing! Check out their spinoff @actorau it's going to be so cool
part 1 part 2 part 3 part 4 part 6
The throne room was quiet, the guards stationed around the golden walls silent and motionless, the air just as heavy as it had been since news of the missing Prince had made it to the King.
Janus’s eyes were on the blue skies outside glass stained windows, the guards around him staring straight ahead, backs straight, unmoving for hours.
He leaned against the back of the throne with a sigh. The golden throne was grand and elegant, but also old and uncomfortable. It was honestly more for show than for furniture, and his back always protested the hours upon hours he spent in the throne room. He was always staring at the door, waiting for the same boring pointless people to come in with their same boring pointless demands.
It had been a bit more frantic since Virgil had disappeared along with his advisor, but with over a week of no new leads, no way to track down the missing Prince, things had settled back into routine, just coupled with a rising sense of uncertainty and dread.
Janus could barely even remember the last time he’d had a proper conversation with Virgil. They saw each other in meetings, Virgil quiet and nervous, out of place in a room full of adult royals, but that was about it.
He’d stopped by to congratulate the young Prince on achieving adulthood on his 18th birthday, as well as to praise Patton for his success, but that had been almost a year ago now, and they’d barely said a word to each other since.
Janus had never bothered to get to know the boy- too many bad memories, too much responsibility on top of the crown that had been thrust upon him after the death of the Queen.
He’d been given the throne to the kingdom he was never meant to rule, expected to ignore his own grief and confusion in favor of piecing things back together. He couldn’t raise a child on top of that.
Virgil had his mother’s mismatched eyes. Janus still couldn’t bring himself to look at the Prince without a simple glance being accompanied by waves of unwanted memories.
Patton had raised him well in place of any real family, and Janus had paid him enough to support the young advisor for decades.
And now both Virgil and Patton were gone, vanished without a trace in the middle of the night, and Janus didn’t know what to do.
Virgil was the only heir, set to be King in less than a year’s time now. The boy was a wreck. Anxious, timid, unprepared, and unsociable. So Janus had managed to push back the crowning until he was twenty, rather than eighteen like originally planned.
Patton had done his best, but he and Janus both knew that boy wasn’t fit to be King. Not yet, at least. Probably not for a long while.
But there was nothing Janus could do about that. He was never meant to be King, he was simply a placeholder until the late Queen’s son came of age.
He'd been able to keep Virgil from being crowned as an unprepared teenager like Janus had been, but he couldn't keep the crown off his head forever.
But now the late Queen’s son was gone, and Janus was still on the throne, his back still protesting the long, uneventful hours.
He’d been King for nearly a decade. He’d built his kingdom, built a reputation, placed his spies, made sure he had eyes and ears on every corner. The people knew him, respected him (more out of fear than anything, he suspected). The King was always the first to hear anything.
And yet there hadn’t been a word about the missing Prince. Nobody was sure when he left, if he was still in the city, if he’d left on a ship or was just hiding right under their noses. Nobody knew if he’d left willingly or if someone had stolen him.
It had been over a week, and still nothing.
Janus was pulled from his thoughts when the double doors at the end of the hall swung open without any warning or announcement, loud heels clicking against the floor, the guards startling to attention.
“Hell of a place you got here,” the intruder called, weaving around the two guards stationed at the door, expertly avoiding their grasps. “Did you decorate in puke yellow on purpose?”
Janus leaned forward, watching with his one good eye as the man pushed his way into the throne room, grinning as he surveyed the area, avoiding the apparently incompetent guards.
Janus raised a hand, stopping the rest of his men from rushing forward, weapons raised. The day had been never ending and dull, he might as well see how this played out.
Janus kept his eye on the intruder, eyebrow raised. “And who might you be?”
“That’s not important right now,” the man said, finally spinning around to face the throne. “What is important is… holy shit. What happened to your face? It looks like it was on fire and someone tried to put it out with a fork! Like, in a good way. It works.”
He sounded almost awestruck, staring shamelessly at the marred side of Janus’s face, and for the first time in years the King felt uneasy up on his throne, tensing under the gaze.
Nobody looked at his scar. It was common courtesy to pretend it wasn’t there, an unspoken agreement among the people.
“Tell me who you are and what you want before I have you arrested.”
The man gave a dramatic, woeful sigh, crossing his arms over his chest. “You have a kid, yeah? Short, big mop of black hair, crown prince and heir to the throne of Naither?”
That piqued Janus’s interest much more than the bizarre show the nameless man seemed intent on putting on. “My nephew is the heir, and the city is aware there is a reward for his return. If you have information you should have scheduled an appointment.”
“Appointments aren’t really my thing,” he said, looking up with a bright, crooked grin, one hand moving up to brush over his mustache. “The point is, I know where your kid is.”
“Wonderful,” Janus said. “Where?”
The man merely shrugged. “That depends. How much are you paying?”
He kept his voice disinterested and bored, picking at chipped, painted nails. Well, two could play that game.
Janus leaned back in the throne and examined his gloves, black and gold rings glittering in what little sunlight managed to filter in. He saw the man’s gaze fall on the jewels, his eyes brightening hungrily. “I’m sure we could get you a handsome reward for helping to bring the Prince home. If your information is authentic.”
“Well I’m not offering information,” he said, tilting his head to look at Janus. “I’m offering to collect him myself. There are very few people you could trust with the job, you know. You can’t just pick up any rando’ off the streets.”
“I have plenty of people who are more than capable of bringing the heir back home. You’re expecting me to entrust his return to a stranger?”
The man shrugged again. “I won’t share the information with just anyone.”
“You’ll share the information if there’s a knife to your throat.”
The man actually grinned at that, brown eyes brightening dangerously. There was a scar across the left side of his face, that eye a bit glossy, parallel to Janus’s own injury. “Any fool willing to attack the ship he’s on will die. I can guarantee that. Except myself, of course!”
“Is that so?” Janus drawled. “Care to explain why?”
Remus hummed, rocking forward onto the balls of his feet, smug grin only growing. “You’ve not heard of the Calypso? She’s mighty notorious, especially about these parts. And I’d simply not let anyone near her. There’s precious cargo on that ship, you know.”
Janus had heard of the ship, but only vaguely. He tended to ignore rumors of pirates, busying himself with more important things than following those stories. Especially when such stories didn’t often involve the land he was ruling.
Well, he couldn’t exactly ignore the pirates when they were kidnapping the kingdom’s only heir, could he?
“How do I know you’re right about Virgil being aboard?”
“Why, I have written proof from the Captain, of course!” The man bounced a bit on the balls of his feet, leaning forward. “He’s been on board for… nearly two weeks now? They’ll stop in Gladena in about a day's time, and from there be off to Deigh. You can check any record you please, the first mate is absolutely meticulous about it all.”
Janus drummed his fingers along the throne, studying the intruder carefully. He should have this man arrested for daring to barge into the throne room, whether he was telling the truth or not.
He could send someone he trusted after Virgil, but… the Prince and his advisor would be on the lookout for someone they recognized. And despite himself, Janus was achingly curious. "And how long would it take you to get my heir back to me?"
“Well, considering it took the Captain two weeks to get to Gladena,” the man mused, dropping his arms to fold his hands behind his back, swaying slightly. “I could cut them off at Deigh and be back in less than two months.”
It wasn’t… ideal. The kingdom needed it’s Prince back as soon as possible, especially when he was so close to taking the throne. Janus couldn’t keep the fear and uncertainty at bay forever.
But Deigh was a decent way away. Assuming this man would actually do what he said he would, two months was the best they could hope for. It wasn’t a bad offer.
“Very well,” Janus relented with a heavy sigh. “Every day over two months you’re gone, I reduce your pay. I expect Virgil to be returned unharmed.”
“Yeah, yeah. You’re no fun.”
“And I’ll need your name,” Janus said. “I’d like to know who I’m trusting my nephew’s safe return with.”
The man brightened, toothy grin spreading across his face as he put a hand to his chest and bent forward in a mock bow.
“Remus of Lucoria. At your service, your majesty.”
Janus sighed, and some of the guards at the foot of the throne shifted anxiously, no doubt waiting for the order to attack.
As it turned out, there was one pirate Janus couldn’t ignore the rumors about. No one could, with how they seemed to spread with viscosity like no other.
“Ah,” Janus said. He wondered briefly how Remus had managed to dock without word getting to the King, making a mental note to fire his head naval officer. “Wonderful.”
“There we go.” Remus straightened, his grin never faltering. “Now you know who you’re dealing with.”
“And now I trust you to deliver Virgil safely even less.”
“Oh come off it,” Remus said, rolling his eyes. “It’s not like I’m incompetent.”
“You do have a reputation,” Janus pointed out. “And I’d like my nephew back. Not his corpse.”
“I’m ruthless, not stupid. He’ll be alive.”
“He needs to be unharmed.”
“Unharmed is… such a big request these days,” Remus said, turning back to examining his nails. “Should I kiss his booboo if he gets a splinter?”
Janus set his jaw, staring down at Remus from his vantage point up on the throne. He couldn’t remember the last time someone had talked back to him like this, especially in his own throne room. “You should deliver the Crown Prince without injuring him. He’s royalty.”
“Yes, and as am I,” Remus said. “He’s not special.”
“You’re not royalty anymore.”
Remus rolled his eyes once again, turning back to Janus with a smile. “It’s a mindset.”
“Of course it is,” Janus drawled, leaning forward in his throne. “Royalty is power. If I wanted you dead today, your head would be at my feet in seconds.”
Remus laughed then, the sound short and humorless. “I had no problem getting in here, did I? If I wanted you dead today, you would be.”
“Not if you wanted to escape with your life,” Janus said. “But you’re welcome to try.”
“I did say if, sweetheart. I’m not here for that today.”
“Good,” Janus said, keeping his voice cold and sharp. “I still need the Prince back in one piece.”
“Yeah yeah,” Remus agreed, waving him off. “I heard you.”
“Completely unharmed, Remus.”
“Yes,” Remus growled. “I heard you. I’ll kiss all his booboos.”
“Good,” the King said again. “And I trust you’re aware of the reward for Virgil’s return?”
“Oh, I am,” Remus said. “And it’s not enough. I want 3,000. To start.”
Janus scoffed, raising an eyebrow. “To start, huh?”
“I’ve got to be compensated for my time, don’t I?”
“Sure,” Janus agreed. “But I’ll remind you I do have an army at my disposal. I don’t need you for one job. You’ve given me all the information I need to send my own men.”
“The Calypso’s Captain won’t let him go so easily,” Remus said. “And much less to anyone but me. So either I go get him, or he makes it to Deigh and is never heard from again. Your choice.” He said with another infuriating shrug.
There were countless eyes on Janus, the guards watching and waiting, ready to move at the King’s word. Remus was smiling, smug and knowing, and Janus took a steadying, resigned breath.
“Fine,” Janus relented. “I’ll give you 1,500 before you depart, and 1,500 when you return with Virgil.”
“Plus the pre-existing reward.”
The King sighed. He’d pay just about anything to get Remus out of his castle. “Fine. 3,000 on top of the reward.”
Remus smiled again, giving one more fake, flashy bow before sending the King a wink Janus would have anyone else killed for.
He started towards the double doors before pausing and turning back to the King. “How ‘bout a kiss, too?”
“Get out of my throne room.”
Remus cackled, striding past the bewildered guards and pushing past the double doors, the clicking of his heels echoing against the walls. He disappeared and the doors closed behind him, leaving Janus perched on his throne in silence like nothing had even happened.

all the fear and the fire of the end of the world [w.v. ; b.d.h.]
wilhemina venable x fem!reader x billie dean
requested: how about reader being possessive clingy sub with any combination of (at least two) wilhelmina, billie and/or cordelia, please? like reader asking for attention and them always giving it to her and making sure ppl know she is theirs, this is pretty much just fluff with no real plot
disclaimer: strong language, sexual nature
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nestled between Wilhemina and Billie is how you spent most of your mornings, afternoons, and nights. It had become such a habit for either of them to settle at your side and it was never long before the other followed.
Wilhemina had long since lifted the ban on PDA and fornication; driven mostly by her and Billie’s desire to hold you and show you off and also your fondness of touching them at all times.
So when you woke up, it was no surprise that you were cuddled between the two.
You were turned towards Billie, hand flush against the bare skin of her stomach and ear pressed into her chest just enough to hear the gentle hum of her heartbeat.
Wilhemina was behind you, front pressed into your back and arm slung around your waist. Her breath fell against the back of your neck and you shivered at the feeling.
Wilhemina twitched and you could hear her take a long and sharp breath as she began to wake up.
You turned excitedly, smiling before you even had the chance to meet her hooded eyes. “Good morning.” She smiled at you.
“Morning Mina.” You beamed, toying with a loose strand of her fiery red hair.
“Kiss me?” You pleaded to the taller woman, barely giving her time to open her eyes.
A small squeal left your open mouth when she pressed forward to connect her lips to yours. She hummed in delight before her hand found the dip in your waist and gripped it softly.
Your heart fluttered at the sound and you collected her face in your hands. She pulled you impossibly closer until your bodies meshed like two smoothed puzzle pieces finding their places.
“You two have to fuck so early in the morning?” Billie quipped sarcastically from behind you, causing a whole new smile to break out on your face. “We’re not fucking, B.”
Wilhemina huffed as her forehead settled against your chest, “And if we were you should have just let me enjoy it.” You laughed and pushed her away with a playful smirk before flipping yourself over and settling to sit on top of Billie’s hips.
“Wake up.” You hummed, kissing her collarbone with gentle lips as she glanced up at you with tired eyes. “Mmm, don’t wanna.” She mumbled tiredly, rubbing at her eyes.
You began to crawl off of the blonde and the bed entirely, coaxing a chorus of whines to fall from the lips of both of your girlfriends. “I have to get dressed.” You explained yourself, pushing off the bed.
You could feel two sets of eyes watching you in the candle light. You made a show of stretching the muscles in your naked body before turning your head to meet their gaze’s.
Billie’s eyes traveled along your figure as Wilhemina took her bottom lip between her teeth.
“Are you sure you don’t want to crawl back into bed with us?” The blonde prompted, eyebrow twitching up in suggestion.
“For a proper goodmorning?” You mused with an innocent bat of your eyes, already knowing what the two women had in store.
You giggled once again and looked at them from your wardrobe. “That does sound nice...” you began to toy with the idea.
They both groaned in annoyance as your flirting was cut off by a knock echoing from your bedroom door.
You quickly tied the purple robe around your waist and padded your way to the door before swinging it open.
A grey stood under your gaze, his demeanor faultering slightly. He began to blubber out a sentence, mumbling and stuttering as you watched his eyes fall onto what little skin was exposed on your chest.
You could feel a surge of warmth behind you before a hand wrapped around your waist and pulled you in protectively.
“Quit your stuttering and spit it out.” Wilhemina hissed as she pulled you behind her towering body which was now dressed in her own pale-purple robe.
The grey’s eyes left your chest to meet the harshness of Wilhemina’s glare, “Well?” She barked.
He finally shook himself clear of whatever was running through his head, “I-um. Breakfast, Ms. Venable.”
You could smell Billie’s perfume lingering behind you as a slender hand wrapped around your exposed thigh. Wilhemina began to smirk and Billie made a show of using your clothed form to shield her own naked one.
“Yes, we were just about to eat.” Wilhemina hummed with amusement, watching the young man’s face go ridiculously red before she closed the door without another word.
“That was inappropriate.” You teased, tongue peaking out between your smiling teeth.
Billie flipped you around and lifted you off the ground with ease before settling you on the end of the bed and kneeling onto the ground between your legs to kiss the inside of your thigh.
She hummed, eyes wandering up your body to meet yours. “It’s the truth.”
Wilhemina was eager to move onto the bed behind you, her lips easily finding your neck as you basked in the feeling of both women on either end of you.
Wilhemina used her thumb to guide your head to look at her before she kissed you. You whimpered and your thigh twitched underneath Billie’s open mouth.
Once again, a knock sounded from the door. “Fucking hell.” Billie hissed as she called out. “Go away!”
You began to protest both women moving away from your quivering body before you were sent a pointed look by Wilhemina, “Later, kitten.”
In the matter of a few short minutes, the three of you were scattering around the room and nearly ready for the day.
“That dress looks striking on you.” Billie mumbled her compliments as her eyes landed on you.
You shimmered under the light with a glow that forced a softness onto her heart, tugging at something deep within her.
She watched your every move closely as you shuffled around in front of the mirror to get ready. Moving towards you, her arms found the dip in your waist to pull your back against her front.
Her lips pursed, a soft sigh escaping her throat. She was intimidatingly tall as she stood behind you in her usual heels and met your eyes through the reflective glass.
“Thank you,” you turned your head to press a kiss to the warm skin on her cheek. A smile tugged at the corners of your lips.
Her fingers found the seam of your dress and danced along the edge, traveling towards your hips where she bunched the skirt of the dress forcefully which only caused a giggle to fall past your lips as she admired the newly-exposed skin of your thighs.
“We could always...stay in today.” Wilhemina interrupted suggestively, turning from her wardrobe as she finished off the last of the buttons on her dress.
Her shoulder was pressed against the side of the wardrobe, a smirk tugging at her lips when you craned your neck to meet her eyes.
You laughed, “Why are the both of you always so insistent on crawling back in bed?” You knew the answer, it had to do with the hungry looks in both of their eyes.
“We have an outpost to run.” You scolded gently as Wilhemina approached the both of you and shut you up with a gentle kiss to the base of your neck.
Billie sighed in defeat and moved from bunching the dress in her hands to gripping your hips with a bruising hold.
Wilhemina spoke once again, “But,” she whined with a mocking tone, “You do look delicious in that dress.”
You offered a delighted smile before pushing Billie away with your hips, “You’ll have time to admire me in this dress later.”
You ducked between the two women, using the edge of the bed as an anchor to slip on your heels.
You could hear Wilhemina whispering something along the lines of ‘or out of it’ before she moved back towards her dresser and, soon after, bid the both of you a goodbye to observe what the day would look like for the lot of you.
It wasn’t long after that you and Billie had joined her in the common room, settled on the couches as music echoed softly.
The other purples where scattered around the outpost, most of them in their respective rooms.
You had settled into a gentle position, your head in Billie’s lap and feet in Wilhemina’s.
Billie gently stroked your hair with her nails as you read the book in your hands, stopping every now and then to meet her soft brown eyes.
Every so often she would lean forward to press a kiss to your forehead and you’d smile at her lovingly.
Wilhemina, on the other hand, was listening rather intently to your reading of the book. She had always been fond of you reading to her. You could feel her slender fingers toying with the hem of your skirt.
“That’s the end.” You concluded as you closed the book and gently set it onto the coffee table beside you.
Wilhemina hummed, “We’ll have to get you another, yeah?” You nodded eagerly, carefully sitting up to face her.
You placed a quick peck to Wilhemina’s lips before settling yourself eagerly into Billie’s lap with your head against her shoulder.
Her hand traveled to your back, rubbing gentle circles. “Baby?” You hummed out, not bothering to move your face from the crook of her neck.
“Yes, sweetheart?” Her finger traveled under your shirt. “I love you.” You giggled.
You could feel Billie’s jaw flex against your head as she smiled, “I love you, sugar.”
Wilhemina’s hand came down to stroke up your thigh, nails grazing the warm skin. “What about me?” She mused, eyes glinting with playfulness.
You pushed forward and connected your lips to hers, despite the greys standing at attention around you.
Wilhemina let you, thumb stroking the crease of your hips. “I love you, Ms. Venable.”
She shivered and brought her hand to caress your face gently, “And you, my dear.”

A Little Braver - 23
Here we are... the fluff is finally here and Rowan is back.
Enjoy the chapter.
Tumblr media
6 months later
The months and seasons had slowly turned and autumn in Terrasen was in full swing with the trees now having lost of all of their leaves and the days turning chilly and October had brought with it all the smells of the season.
Rowan got out of the airbase and looked up at the sky and he could smell snow in the air. His favourite type of weather. He breathed in deeply and enjoyed for a second the feeling of being on land once again after months on a ship. This last deployment had taken a toll on the whole squadron and all of his team members had plans of enjoying their well deserved time off.
“Rowan!” A voice called him and he turned seeing Gavriel coming his way “need a lift somewhere?”
“I was going to call a taxi.”
“Come, I’ll drive you to the fire station.” The man said, knowing full well where Rowan was headed.
Rowan nodded and thanked him. Aelin had told him she was coming off shift around noon. It was eleven and he had some time.
“Are you looking forward seeing Aelin again?” Asked Gavriel once in the car.
“Yes, I have missed her like crazy.”
The man at his side chuckled “you never missed Lyria this much. Never spent so much time on your phone either calling her or texting her.”
Rowan sighed “Aelin is different.”
Gavriel nodded “you found a great one. Truly.”
Gavriel had never been a fan of Lyria either. And the more he thought about it the more he realised that a lot of people have never been keen on his ex wife. No one ever believed she was actually in love with him, but his friends now were fully supporting him with Aelin. Maybe this was how it was actually meant to go.
While he was wool-gathering they had arrived at the fire station and Gav had parked beside the pavement to let him out.
“Have fun you two.”
“Have a nice time off too, my friend.”
Rowan grabbed his duffel bag and turned to the yard. The doors to the apparatus floor were closed. He peeked through the glass and spotted engine and truck. Good, they were in. Now he had to try and make it a surprise.
A moment later he spotted Luca coming out of the main communal area and grabbed his arm “shhh Luca, it’s me.”
The young man turned and smiled deeply when he recognised him.
“Can you please ask Aelin if she can come out here? Invent an excuse, please.” The boy grinned and nodded in understanding “welcome back, captain. She missed you.”
“I missed her too.” He admitted while adjusting his uniform.
At that Luca walked out and Rowan bravely climbed on top of the engine. Dropped his bag and lay low until he heard her voice.
“Luca, what is it? Is there something wrong with the rigs?”
Rowan kept silent and hid a bit better but with his height it was difficult. He also felt the crazy urge to giggle like a schoolgirl.
His legs hit the rail and he noticed her turn around looking for the origin of the sound.
“Come out. Show your face. I can kick your arse.”
He grinned and sat on the rig with his legs swinging from the edge while she had her back at him “Is that so, captain?”
He saw her turn and her expression morphed in the smile he adored. Being apart from her had been hell. He had no true idea how mad he was about her until he was forced to spend six months away from Aelin. The thought that he still had four years of that, made him want to scream.
Aelin gasped as she noticed Rowan sitting on top of the fire engine “you are back.” She said softly and Rowan nodded and heard her sniffle “you are truly back.” Aelin could not believe her eyes and for a moment she thought she had fallen asleep and it was all a dream.
“Come up here and see it for yourself.”
Aelin moved as if in a daze, slowly climbed the ladder and once at the top his strong arms pulled her to him and they fell into a heap on top of the hoses.
“Hey you…” he said as Aelin lay on top of him. Her blue eyes fixed on him.
“Hey you…” she replied burying her face in the crook of his neck to inhale the scent of him. He was home, he was back. He was real. Rowan’s arms wound around her in a tight hug “you have no idea how much I missed you. Since they told us when we were coming back I have been counting the days that I still had to spend away from you.”
Aelin did not reply she just melted in his embrace “you have been away from me 192 days and 20 hrs.” She said softly against his neck. She had counted each single day and the more they accumulated, the more she longed for the moment she could hug him and kiss him again.
“It felt like an eternity.”
Rowan turned his face and finally met her gaze and his eyes dropped to her lips and she must have noticed his stare because she looked up at him and kissed him.
The taste of her lips was enough to cancel all the longing of those months apart. He deepened the kiss, his tongue teasing her lips until she opened for him and a moan escaped Rowan’s mouth as tongues clashed and she moved fully on top of him.
“Aelin…” he said against her lips.
“I know, we are on top of the engine and I know how paranoid you are. Let’s just make out for a while, then once I am off shift we can go home and indulge in more private activities.”
They made out heavily for a good half an hour, then they finally came up for breath. With his hand Rowan pulled back a strand of hair from her face then flipped her nose feeling desperate for contact with her even if they were almost glued together.
“You seem tired.”
Her head thumped on his chest “long and busy shift.”
“Looks like someone needs some heavy cuddling tonight.”
She stared at him and grinned “always. And a back rub.”
“Something else?”
Her grin became wicked “of course, but later.”
She had so much to tell him but she would do it once they were back at home. On top of a fire engine was not ideal.
“I thought you were going to bring Lorcan too.”
“He will meet with Elide later I think. He always has a lot to do after we come back from a mission. But he will see her. The man has been pining like crazy.”
Aelin laughed “honestly? I can’t believe it.”
“Hey I was there and I couldn’t believe it.”
Aelin sat up “come on, let’s go and say hi to the others.”
“No,” he pulled her down back to him and squeezed her.
She brushed his hair and he closed his eyes and he almost purred in delight. Aelin smiled. Iceman, the man who seemed incapable of showing emotions was addicted to cuddling.
They stayed on top of the rig until Aelin heard Peter’s voice and second team arriving.
“Come on, buzzard, second team is here which means it’s time for us to go home.”
Swiftly she made her way down and Rowan followed.
“Hi Pete!” She greeted him happily.
The man looked behind her back “welcome back, sir.”
Rowan turned red at being caught sneaking down the engine but the other captain did not seem bothered.
“Thank you. It’s nice to be back.”
In that instant her whole team poured out in the main area and spotted Rowan behind her.
“Oh, that’s why she never got back.” Said Brullo.
“Yes, yes, the captain and I were cuddling on top of the rig. Now go home and relax.”
Lysandra moved closer to her ear “go and get some, girl. Just don’t make me an aunt yet.”
Aelin laughed “promise.”
The team walked out and Aelin grabbed Rowan’s hand “let me get out of this uniform.”
They reached the changing rooms and it was full of the guys from the second team. She went to her locker and opened the door and disappeared behind it.
“How was the night, cap?”
“Long,” she said, popping her head from behind the door “it seemed like the whole of east Orynth needed us last night.” She saw Rowan on the doorstep and smiled at him while wearing a polo shirt and then a hoodie “oh yeah we had to evacuate a couple who got stuck in an elevator.” And she grinned at Rowan “and by the time we got to open the trap they had decided to pass the time in an interesting way.”
“No bloody way,” commented Peter from his corner.
“The idiots,” she slammed the locker closed “I’ll see you all in a day.” She grabbed her bag and joined Rowan who was waiting for her. He pulled his arm around her shoulder “do you always change with the guys around?”
“Are you jealous?” he did not reply.
“Ro,” she stopped “they are not interested in me. And if I have to strip naked for my shower I’ll do it in private. But if they see me in my knickers and bra, what’s the difference with strangers seeing me in a bathing suit?” She replied “and as you saw I wear sports bra and comfy knickers for work. The sexy stuff is just for you.”
“I guess that firefighting with a thong is not recommended.”
Aelin laughed and they got to the car “jump in, buzzard.”
Before going home they stopped at the supermarket and Aelin explained she had nothing in the house and Rowan rolled his eyes muttering something about her diet.
At the supermarket she went to get a hand held basket but Rowan pulled her towards the bigger trolleys telling her that they needed to do a big shopping since he was back and was going to cook.
Once inside, Rowan offered to push the trolley and Aelin just grabbed his arm and walked at his side, happy at the domestic scene. They were shopping together and he had not mentioned his flat. Maybe she was worrying about nothing about asking to make it official and move in with her.
“Why are you buying all these veggies?” She asked him as he stopped at the vegetables and fruit aisle.
“To cook.” He stooped for a kiss “and stop complaining.”
They kept walking around the supermarket and Aelin saw the trolley getting fuller and fuller. It looked as if Rowan had every intention of keeping her well fed. Not that she complained.
An hour later they finally made it to the checkout. Rowan told her to put the groceries on the belt while he packed and she giggled at the military precision with which he packed.
She paid for the shopping and he carried the bags back to the car.
“We should have a budget for groceries. This one was big because you have nothing in the house.”
“Make sure the budget allows for chocolate expenses.”
“We’ll see.”
They got back in the car and not long after they were finally back at home.
Once inside, Rowan dropped the bags on the kitchen island and started unpacking straight away.
Aelin dropped his bag in the bedroom and joined him in the kitchen with bird Rowan in her arms “someone else wants to say hi.”
Rowan smiled “it’s actually quite nice. It looked lovely online.”
Aelin hugged the toy “he is so soft.”
“Come on, help me unpack.” She put bird Rowan back in the bedroom and went back to the kitchen and together they methodically unpacked the groceries ready to feed a family of five.
Slowly she watched her fridge become full again, something she hadn’t seen in six months.
“Now, let me take a shower, get changed and I’ll make lunch.” He kissed her softly and Aelin purred.
“A quick shower. If you come in as well we’ll never have lunch.”
“Spoilsport.” She turned but Rowan grabbed her arms and pulled her to his chest, his arm around her waist and his mouth on her neck trailing hot kisses along its length. Aelin threw her head back, but Rowan pulled back “fun times later. Food first.”
Aelin groaned in silence at the loss of contact with his body.
When he came back from his quick shower he found her on their bed with her huge hockey jersey and a pair of shorts, barely visible under the huge item of clothing. His eyes landed on her long legs and until that moment he had not fully realised how desperately he needed her. But lunch was a priority and he could not get distracted.
“Come on young lady, let’s go and get you fed.” He offered her a hand and Aelin climbed down the bed and they got to the kitchen.
Aelin sat on the counter and studied him while he set out all of the ingredients and started prepping them.
Then she decided to be brave and pose the question “Ro, do you want to move in with me? As in officially?”
Rowan looked at her perplexed “I thought that’s what we were doing? Living together?”
“Are we though? We never talked about it. You just stayed here after the accident.”
“So?” He asked while slicing the carrots.
“You still have your flat and some stuff there. And I understand if you want to keep your place for yourself to have a moment away from me if it gets too much. I know I am an handful.”
Rowan threw the veggies in the pan and then moved to her.
“Rowan the hob.” She ordered him. Her firefighter paranoia kicking in.
He switched off the gas and moved to her, between her legs and gently took her face in his hands “I only kept my flat in case you got fed up with me and threw me out. I don’t need it. I can sell it.” His hand brushed her hair “I thought I threw you enough hints that I was not moving out. Yes, you are a handful but I love living with you.”
Her arms went around his neck “so we are doing it.” Rowan nodded and kissed her “I can bring all my stuff here in the next few days.”
“I have a spare bedroom, dump your stuff in there.” She grinned and her legs went around his back and kissed him in a dangerous way, but he pulled back.
“Lunch?”
“I am famished.”
“Then let me cook.”
She smiled and swinged her legs happily. She could not believe it. She and Rowan had been together officially for around nine months but only spent three of those together and they were now officially shacking up. She was excited and for some strange reason it felt normal. With Sam it had taken much longer. They had been dating for over a year before she asked him. But with Rowan had felt natural, probably because of how their living situation had started.
“Now, this is how a stir fry looks like.”
“Still too many veggies.”
“Menace.”
Aelin grinned and stole a piece of chicken from the pan. His food tasted so much better than her mess.
Eventually they finished dinner and ended up on the sofa, Aelin all cosied up against him mentally getting ready to tell him everything that had happened while he was away.
“Ro,” she said softly, holding him “I have to tell you something.”
He looked down to her and her tone scared him.
“What, Fireheart?”
Aelin loosened a breath “while you were away a lot of stuff happened. Bad stuff.”
She felt him stiffen “how bad?”
And Aelin told him. About Hamel, her working with the police. Being assaulted in the house, Aedion being shot and the wedding postponed. Her going undercover and almost getting killed again before the detectives shot Hamel. About Hamel being the cause of Sam and Thomas’ deaths.”
Rowan stood abruptly and started pacing in the living room. His expression difficult to read. Rowan paced a bit more and a few times it seemed like he wanted to say something but then stopped. There was rage in him.”A guy, a stranger was in our house and tried to kill you. Hamel’s men tried to kill Aedion and you, not happy of all this, just went and played cop and almost got killed again?” He was not raising his voice but Aelin knew, he was furious. He paced around the coffee table “Rutting hell, what the fuck were you thinking?”
Aelin was taken aback by the harshness of his words “why you didn’t tell me?” His tone angry. His hand nervously ran through his hair. For a brief second he even stopped his pacing but never looked at Aelin in the eyes.
“You were away. How could I?” She stood in front of him “if I had told you, you would have worried and not concentrated on your job and risked getting killed. And I could not have that. I…” she felt tears stinging her eyes “I can’t lose you.”
“What if I lost you?” He shouted back at her, giving his back to Aelin “I can’t lose you either. And I almost did. Twice.” He walked out on the balcony and Aelin let him go and went back to the bedroom and curled on the bed hugging bird Rowan. And cried.
Rowan leaned against the rail of the balcony and stared at the lights of the city slowly coming alive as darkness fell. He was furious, but not at her. He was mad at fate who gave him a woman to love once again and did its best to take her from him. In an instant all his fears, all his doubts and his reasons for not getting involved again had come back. He took his head in his hands and the weak part in him told him to bail. To ignore that just earlier they had taken an extra step in their relationship and just get out of there. Go back being alone and cold. It was far easier.
Except it was not.
He turned to the house and looked at the bedroom. Aelin was curled in bed. He could not leave her. No matter the fears, he could not give up on her, not when she brought him happiness and gave him again the will to feel. He could not go back to a life of ice, pain and guilt. So he did the only thing he could do. He walked back to their bedroom.
She was all curled up and hugging the bird he gave her.
He climbed in bed with her and pulled her closer but Aelin turned and faced him, her eyes all puffy.
“I am sorry, I am a jerk.” he whispered, brushing her hair from her face and drying her tears with the back of his hand “I haven’t seen you in six months and all I can do is shout at you.” He kissed her once “I am not mad at you. Yes, you are reckless but I am more mad at what happened.” He hugged Aelin and drew her closer “I can’t stand the idea that you had to go through all this. And Sam…”
Aelin buried her face in his neck “I am better. Lys and the guys kept me from breaking down. Without them I don’t know…”
Rowan sighed “I should have been here. It looks like I haven’t learned from my past.” At the deep anguish in his voice, Aelin grabbed his face and kissed him deeply.
“You make me stupidly happy.” He told her, a hand brushing her head “and no matter how scared I am of your job or of what the future holds for us, I am not letting you go.” But she sensed unease in his voice.
She sniffled  “you are still a bit mad at me.”
Rowan shook his head “no, not at you. At a lot of things, yes. But not mad at you.” His forehead brushed hers “I was overwhelmed and I overreacted. I am glad you did not tell me.” His nose bumped hers “you are right I would have been worried sick and not being able to concentrate and in our line of jobs is a deadly thing.”
Aelin nodded and kissed him gently “thank you for coming back to me.” She whispered against his lips.
“I made you a promise.” His hand sneaked under her shirt, caressing the length of her back. Aelin rolled on her back and pulled her jersey off, remaining only in her shorts. Rowan’s gaze became lustful and she pulled him down to her for a heated kiss. Rowan reached for the back of his t-shirt and pulled it off and discarded it on the floor and then moved on top of her, caging her head between his arms. Aelin took in the expanse of his chest with her hands, then followed the lines of his tattoo with her fingers.
“I missed this so much,” he whispered as his head ducked in the crook of her neck.
“Definitely better than on the phone,”Aelin joked pulling him down to her completely, skin touching. His mouth trailed south leaving scorching kisses on her collarbone and then down to her breasts. Aelin’s back arched on instinct and in response Rowan took one of her hard peaks in his mouth and Aelin moaned, fingers burying in his back and leaving gentle moon-shaped marks.
Aelin rocked her hips for friction and she felt Rowan grin “so impatient.”
“I need you…” she breathed “we can have all the foreplay in the second run, but not now…”
His mouth bit lightly on her neck then his hand slid down until it hit the band of her shorts and knickers “so I guess you don’t need these…” and in a swift motion she was bare in front of him.
“Well, if I am naked, so do you, captain.” Rowan smiled and peeled off his briefs. He leaned back down and her legs wrapped around him and she pulled him much closer until she felt him nudge her near where she desperately needed him.
“I love you,” he whispered and after months apart they met again.
*
Aelin was sitting against the head of the bed and Rowan’s head was in her lap while her fingers played gently with his hair “do you know how to ice skate?” She asked him.
“A bit, why?”
“They opened an ice rink down in the main square and I was wondering if you wanted to go with me. It’s been a long time since I did it.” He turned on his back and looked up “I’d love to. Want to go tonight?”
Aelin nodded “can we have dinner out as well? Have a proper date?”
“Are you asking me out, captain?” Rowan smiled and stretched his arm to caress her cheek.
“Well, it’s my right as well to woo my boyfriend.”
Rowan smiled and sat back up and went to kiss her “I am yours.”
“What time does your shift starts tomorrow?”
“At ten and it’s my usual 24hrs shift.” She told him.
“We should not stay out too long. You came off another night shift this morning and never slept. I need to tuck you in in bed early.”
“Yes, sir.”
Rowan got off the bed and stood, holding out his hand to her “come on, miss firefighter, let’s get you ice skating.”
Aelin beamed in joy and got off the bed and went to put some clothes on. A polo shirt and her favourite TFD hoodie. Then she moved to the bird toy and got her dog tags from it.
“Make sure you have a nice layer on, it’s getting colder outside.” He pulled a scarf around her neck “forecast says it might snow.”
Aelin groaned “I love winter, but snow always causes so many accidents.” Then she realised what she said “I am sorry, I didn’t mean…”
He stooped to kiss her “it’s okay. I am fine.”
She smiled back at him, “let’s go skating, captain.”
Hand in hand they walked to the main square enjoying the chill air and the winter feeling.
“Look,” said Aelin once they reached the square  “They have street vendors.”
“I thought you wanted to go out for dinner.”
She turned around and walked backward facing him “but this is winter fair food. It’s so good.”
“Come,” Rowan grabbed her hand “I’ll buy you dinner.” They walked to one of the stall “what do you want?”
“A nice juicy burger.” She smelled the food around her “and a couple of skewers as well.”
Rowan bought the food for her and himself and they sat down on a bench munching away happily.
In front of her the ice rink was surrounded by people being happy and having fun. Then a little blonde girl with pig tails ran to her “hello, gorgeous.” Aelin picked up the girl “where are your parents?” The little girl pointed in a random place. Rowan ruffled her hair and the girl giggled happily.
Then all of a sudden “Lynne.” And a woman hurried towards them “momma.” The little girl screamed at recognising the woman. Aelin passed the child to her mother “thank you,” said the woman hugging her daughter.
“She was adorable,” said Aelin leaning her head against Rowan’s shoulder. He kissed her head “she really was.”
Rowan eventually stood and took Aelin’s hand “Ice skating?”
Aelin joined him and together they went to the rental place and got their skates and changed into them.
Aelin took tentative steps to the entrance of the rink while Rowan had his hand on her lower back.
While Rowan went for the cautionary approach and moved some baby steps on the ice, Aelin was being her usual carefree self and jumped straight in the fray “Come on, buzzard, it’s easy.”
By the time she completed a few laps around the rink, Rowan was still holding to the edge for dear life. She slid to him and took his hands “come with me.” She took his hands and placed them on her sides “easy… follow me.” Slowly he got more confident and they managed to skate hand in hand.
The hour on the the ice was up and they were sitting on a bench again when when Lys texted her that she and Aedion were meeting Elide and Lorcan and have dinner together and invited them as well.
“We don’t have to go if you don’t want to see Lorcan out of work.” But his smile turned wicked “Oh no, I need to see smitten Lorcan.”
Aelin leaned forward and kissed him “but no jokes in front of Elide.”
“Don’t worry I’ll just gather enough material to take the mickey out of him when we are alone.”
Gently she patted his arms “you really are evil.”
He nodded proudly “no news there. You should know by now.”
The other two couples arrived not long after and Rowan laughed at seeing Lorcan with his arm around Elide’s shoulders. The scene was almost ridiculous given how tall was the man compared to the woman.
“Aren’t they cute?” Whispered Aelin, grabbing his hand and walking toward the couple.
“Hi guys,” said a very happy Elide, waving her hand at Rowan and Aelin.
“Hi, darling.” Aelin hugged her friend and then looked up at the man at her side “evening, commodore.”
“I am just Lorcan tonight.”
Rowan snorted loudly “sure, Lor,”
“Lys and Aedion are on their way.” Added Aelin.
“Did you go ice skating?” Asked Rowan to his boss.
Elide laughed “I tried to convince him but he laughed at me.”
“Oh it would have been amazing to see the drunken giraffe.” commented Rowan with a wicked grin and Lorcan growled back at him “Whitethorn…”
“What’s the drunken giraffe?” Aelin smiled, ready for some snooping.
“Don’t you dare…”
And now the whole group was even more interested.
“So,” started Rowan with an evil grin “Lor was my captain and I was just a lieutenant. We had a team evening here in Orynth and it was winter. The ice skating rink was out. We had a few girls we wanted to impress, so we took them out.” He narrated, while Lorcan glared at him “Lorcan tried to skate but he is stupidly tall and well…” Rowan moved his arms with a jerky motion “it was hilarious.” He continued “his girl called him a drunken giraffe.”
Everyone burst out laughing and for a moment that story threw a funnier light on the man who seemed to be made of ice.
“Fine, fine Rowan you had your fun.”
Elide gave him a pat on his shoulder and in that instant Lysandra and Aedion joined them.
“We are here. Sorry we are late, parking was a pain.”
Aelin jumped all excited “we can finally have dinner.”
“You haven’t stopped eating since we arrived.” And Rowan pulled Aelin to his chest and kissed her temple “I love my bottomless pit.”
“Ow, you two are so cute it’s disgusting.” Joked Lysandra wrapping her arm around Aedion’s midriff.
“Come on let’s go to dinner before Aelin turns hangry.” Elide took Lorcan’s hand and dragged him away and the rest followed.
Once at the restaurants they got a table for six and sat down. Aelin grabbed the menu and started perusing “this place seems amazing.”
“I think we need a nice bottle of wine to celebrate that you two boys are finally back.” Suggested Elide who, all of a sudden, was confident and seemed to have lost all of her shyness.
The waiter came and took their order and as usual Aelin shocked the poor youngster with her gigantic order.
“Captain, are you sure you can afford feeding her?” Joked Aedion.
Rowan shrugged and smiled at Aelin “the bank doesn’t offer mortgages for feeding your girlfriend, apparently.”
The rest of the group laughed.
Then the wine arrived and they toasted and Aelin looked around at the table and smiled at the scene. Of being with her friends and Rowan. She placed her hand on his and gave him a big smile. She kept repeating to herself that he was back and he was real.
Lorcan took a sip of his wine “this feels nice,” and a weak smile painted his lips “after six months of bad food and no treats, this feels like bliss.”
“I didn’t pin you for a wine lover, commodore.” Said Aelin sipping her wine and agreeing with the man. It was a nice one he had got.
The man shrugged “we are posh boys, of course we like wine.” He gave her a half smile.
Aedion snorted “that’s all you can handle.”
“Ok,” almost shouted Lysandra “this is a dinner to have some fun together, not a pissing contest to see who is better between the army and the airforce. Now you three behave.” She pointed her finger at them and Aelin hid her smile behind her hand.
“So,” started Rowan trying to change the topic “any new plans for the wedding?”
Aedion nodded “we have a temporary date in January. We just need to find a venue and few other bits and bobs. And hope for no interruptions this time.”
“At least this time my girls will have their real partner at their side.” She looked at the two men “I am waiting for you two to melt when you see in their dress.
“Oh, believe me they did the first time around too.”
Rowan nodded remembering Aelin in her dress. Yeah the shower had been quite longer than his usual “Both Lorcan and I remember the dresses.” Admitted Rowan trying to sound as casual as possible.
Lorcan looked away almost embarrassed by the admission but Elide gently pinched his side “admit it, you loved it.”
“I did.” He said quietly.
“So captain,” began Lysandra while sipping more wine “are you going to teach our Aelin to cook?”
Rowan chuckled “I can try but I have a feeling it’s a suicide mission. As a soldier I can see when it’s time to push back and retreat.” He brushed his hand on her head softly “but it’s fine I love cooking.”
Aelin was about to reply but their food arrived and her focus disappeared on the plates placed in front of her.
“Sometimes I think she would find me more interesting if I dressed up as a giant hamburger.” She stuck out het tongue out at him and he flicked her nose. After six months away from her he was desperate for some contact. He would have loved to go home and partake in more interesting activities, but the idea of having dinner with the other two couples had been quite pleasant. And Aelin did not seem displeased by his extreme need for PDA.
“So, Lorcan, are you coming to the station one day to see Elide in action?” Suggested Aelin with a grin and Elide almost glared at her nervously.
The man lowered his fork and looked at her “I think I might.” Replied the man eagerly “I must admit, I am quite fascinated.”
“We can also give you a proper tour of the firehouse. The official one.”
“I think we can take them on the trucks, one each” suggested Aedion “I am happy to take the commodore. But you guys need to stay inside the truck.”
“Are you sure it’s okay?”
“Hey, I have seen you fly, it’s only fair.”
“You seen him fly?” Elide’s face turned to Lorcan “Can I see you fly?”
“I am sure the commodore and I can give you a lovely display of how I kick his arse.” And Rowan grinned wickedly at his boss.
“Please, please.” Singsonged Elide, taking his hand.
Lorcan nodded “let me know of a day off and we can get it organised.”
“Yes!” Shouted Elide all excited.
“Actually…”  continued Lorcan “we sometimes give tour of some ares of the base. I might be able to get permission to invite the whole station for a tour and with the excuse of a drill we can give you a show.” He explained “I think we owe it to the TFD for the help they gave us.”
Rowan stared at Lorcan in disbelief. He knew everyone joked but Elide really was doing the miracle on him. He had never seen his CO so relaxed and willing to offer a tour of the base. Usually he would  shove that kind of stuff to him. Rowan gave a big smile to Elide and a silent thank you. Lorcan actually seemed happy.
“I am sure the guys would love it.” Then Aelin turned to Aedion “are you willing to come for one day at posh house?”
“I guess I can do that.” And he smiled.
Lorcan nodded “Rowan, liaise with the captain and choose a suitable day.”
Rowan squeezed her hand under the table.
“Ok good, Rowan is coming to the station tomorrow morning. You can join us around nine.”
“Am I?” But Aelin looked at him puzzled.
“Yes, unless you have other plans.”
“Uhhm I was planning on going kitchen household shopping but I assume I can do grampa stuff another day.”
Aelin patted his head “good, grampa. Come and have some fun.”
Lorcan nodded “9 am sounds perfect. I must admit I am looking forward to this.”
“And coming from Lorcan this is the best compliment ever.” Joked Rowan.
“This is going to be much more fun than you guys running drills with us.” Explained Aedion who for once did not seem to have any problems with the airforce.
The group finished their meal and Aelin was the only one who actually went for dessert and everyone took the mickey out of her.
“Of course she gets the cake.” Elide rolled her eyes “how is it that you are not the size of a zeppelin I do not know.”
“Uh, I love you too.” Added Aelin while munching her cake away.
After the meal the group said their goodbyes Aelin and Rowan walked home, taking a detour through the park, hand in hand.
“I had a lovely evening.” Said Rowan pulling their twinned hand to his mouth and depositing a gentle kiss.
“I can’t believe Lorcan. He is so different.”
“I will be forever grateful to Elide. He is like another man.” He explained “I have known Lorcan for a very long time and I have never seen him so happy.”
Aelin almost skipped happily “are you looking forward to tomorrow?”
“Very much. I really want to see you in action.” He gently pinched her butt and Aelin squealed “you and your sexy jacket.”
“It’s called turnout or bunker gear.” She said to him leaning forward for a kiss “not as hot as your jumpsuit…” She swayed her hips in front of him.
He took a couple of steps and folded his arms around her waist and turned her around “you look hot even covered in grime.”
Aelin chuckled “you never saw me coming out of a house collapse after slithering through the debris and come out with my clothes white, my hair grey ad my face verging on black.”
His hand caressed her sides “Imagine the long shower…” his lips brushing hers gently.
“We are in a park, captain.” Her arms sneaked around his neck.
“I am just reminiscing our first kiss.” And slowly pinned her to a tree.
Aelin leaned forward and kissed him first “I’d throw my shoes at you but they are trainers and would hurt. It’s a shame I don’t have my flats on.”
“My menace…” he whispered, their mouths sharing a breath. “I should take you home. You have work tomorrow.” And pulled back from her, grabbing then her hand and resuming walking.
“You fuss too much.”
Rowan rolled his eyes and smiled “let’s just say it’s in the job description for boyfriend.”
“What else does it entail?”
He took a long pause staring toward the pond “make you happy, mostly.”
Aelin stopped him and turned him to her “you do. Make me happy, I mean.” Rowan stooped and kissed her hard “home, now. It’s getting near your bed time.”
“Sexy bed time?”
“No, young lady, we are going home and tuck you in bed and no shenanigans allowed.”
“You are no fun,” she complained walking away from him pretending to be mad.
He grabbed her hand and pulled her back “You came off shift this morning and I got home this morning. We both need rest.”
Her smile turned wicked “I might go and find myself a younger model. I wonder if Fenrys is interested in a sexy firefighter.”
A second later Aelin found herself pinned again against a tree and his lips on hers, the kiss demanding and almost possessive.
When Rowan pulled back they were both breathless, his forehead leaned on hers “don’t even joke about it.”
“Jealous much?”
“You are my girl.” He whispered against her lips and the tone he used made her heart melt.
“Said that again.”
“You,” his lips travelled along her neck “are,” a gentle nip of his teeth “my girl.” And a searing kiss.
How was it possible that the man in front of her could stir such deep passion and desire in her? Something so strong she had never felt before with anyone. It felt like an all consuming fire. She just hoped it would stay like that forever. She felt his hand sneak under her hoodie and touch skin and groaned into the kiss “let’s go home, captain. We are in a park and both about to lose it.”
He nodded silently and started walking home as quick as they could.
As soon as they were through the door to the house, Rowan lifted her in his arms, kicked the door shut with his foot and walked to the bedroom.
“I thought you said no shenanigans.”
“Fuck it.” He let her slid down and a second later his hand had started peeling off her clothes and she did the same.
“Show me what you got.” A second later she was airborne in his arm and then in bed. His strong body hovering over her. His pine green eyes trained on her and she could see the desire in them.
When he kissed her again her toes curled and heat began pooling at her core.
“I love you,” she whispered against his lips. It was all he needed and a moment later his name was on her lips begging him for more over and over again.

georgenotfound- colour blind
Wc: 1857
Warnings: reader wearing a dress; one specific feature mentioned
George's birthday is coming up and I have no idea what to get him, I have already got some presents but I want to get him something that would be kind of special or show that I really care about him. When George isn't around I've been on call with dream to try and come up with some ideas but we never get very long to think before George comes back so its been kind of difficult.
I was in call with dream and sapnap joined to see what we were talking about and he gave the best suggestion ever. Colour blind glasses. What a great idea. I can get him glasses that will allow him to see colours properly or at least better for the first time and we can do a bunch of things together that he has never been able to appreciate before. While still in the call I ordered them to make sure I was getting the right ones, and now they arrive Wednesday.
This is so exciting I can't wait to do so many things with George that he isn't able to appreciate like other people can we can play Minecraft together, we can go to a park and look at all the flowers when they come back out in spring and my favourite thing ever we can watch sunsets or sunrises together.
Skip to Wednesday:
The glasses arrive today which I'm so excited about but I also have to be careful to not let George see them or the package because he gets curious when I order things but this time he isn't allowed to know.
I have been watching the parcel tracker intently for the last hour and now it should be here in the next 5 minutes. George is currently downstairs getting water before he has to go back up to film another video, I went to stand with him in the kitchen and we talked for a little bit before he left again. Seconds later the doorbell rang and I collected the parcel and hid it in the storage cupboard next to the door which George never goes in because he never goes outside.
Late that evening when George was done for the day he came down stairs and sat with me to watch tv with me. I was lying down on my own across the sofa but he moved my legs to lay down with me and cuddle which he likes to do after a long day.
"Who was at the door earlier?" He asked
"Oh just some guy trying to sell me stuff" I lied
"That's annoying" he remarked
After we went to bed and George was fast asleep I snuck out the bed to go and wrap all of the presents I had got so that it wouldn't be obvious exactly what everything was just incase he went in the cupboard for whatever reason. I am useless at wrapping especially by myself because I just don't seem to have big enough hands but I managed to get it done somewhat neatly or at least good enough that George wouldn't notice.
It's George's birthday today and I couldn't be more excited, I woke up super early because I was so excited to give George his glasses and other presents. Of course waking up so early made no difference because George won't be up for another few hours. That man can sleep for forever with no issue at all, I wish that I could do the same but it just doesn't work like that does it.
George woke up about an hour after I did which I believe might be a record but thats besides the point. He moved over to cuddle into my side and kiss my cheek a few times before putting his head in the crook of my neck.
"Happy birthday love" I said
"Thank you" he said
"Let's get up I have some things for you" I said
He groaned but got up with me or should I say attached to me because he had his arms around my waist hugging me from behind as I tried to wash my face and brush my teeth. He only let go when we had to go down the stairs but as soon as we made it he picked me up and carried me around before dropping me down in the kitchen.
We worked together to make breakfast before I went into the cupboard to get all of his presents which I placed in George's lap along with his card. He read the card first which I really tried to put some nice meaning in because I want him to know I appreciate him even if I don't say it as often as I could. I watched his face as he read the words and his lips slowly turned into a smile and his eyes gleamed over.
"This is really sweet thank you" he said
He continued to open the presents leaving the glasses last which I was glad about. When he opened the last present and the box inside he looked very confused about which is understandable. He tried to read the label but he still didn't seem to understand, meanwhile I was aching to show him what they are so that we can do the exciting things.
"What are these?" He asked
"They are glasses that help you to see colours" I smiled
"Wait no way thats amazing I'm so excited to see the things you do" he said
He wanted to get ready for the day so that we could do all the things he wanted to with his new glasses. For fun I decided to wear a red dress that I like to wear all the time but George can't see the colour to the point that it just gets funny when he attempts to tell the colour.
Once the both of us were ready he wanted to go to the park to see what grass looks like so that's where we went and we sat on the grass looking at a flower bed and trees. He had yet to put the glasses on but I could tell he was itching to do it, I had them in my pocket so I took them out and slid them onto his face.
Watching him was the best thing in the world he looked all around mouth open and eyes wide under the classes from the shock of being able to see colours for the first time. He looked at the grass while touching it before looking at me and studying my face intently.
"Your favourite dress is red" he stated
"Yeah it is" I laughed
"And your eyes are as green as the grass thats amazing there so pretty" he said
"Aww thank you but I have to know what colour did they look to you before?" I asked
"Like a weird yellow sort of colour like a lot of things really" he said
His hands were put on my cheek and he pulled by face closer to his to look deeper into my eyes at their colour, it has always amazed me that he couldn't see green even though its quite a common colour but I never thought he would be so entranced with my eye colour. When he was done staring into my soul he kissed my lips sweetly and pulled me up from the grass so we could walk around a bit. He was so amazed by everything in sight which made us get weird looks from others but I just gave them a look back and they stopped.
We went back home after a good hour of just walking around places in London. Back at home we made lunch and talked to dream and sapnap who had been asleep until now. George was telling them all about the glasses and how amazing everything looked and he wouldn't stop bringing up how amazing my eyes were. He put on his glasses when both boys on the call turned their cameras on so that he could see dreams eyes seeing as they were green too but he wasn't as bothered by them.
"What's wrong with my eyes?" Dream asked
"They just aren't as vibrant and pretty as y/n's sorry" he said
Dream got fake upset with him and sulked in his chair which I had to try my best not to laugh at how stupid they were being. They wanted him to play Minecraft with the glasses on so he booted it up on the tv so I could play with him. We got into a new world in creative so we could just travel to places that would be more interesting.
It was in these moments that George realised that dream was actually green which was the funniest thing because thats like part of his brand but all George sees is a mustard yellow colour. We had a lot of fun showing him different things like the nether because for him they aren't red/ orange which again is an odd concept to comprehend.
We played for hours before dream and sapnap had to go and me and George were left to spend the evening together. I had promised George the other day that we could have whatever he wanted for dinner today and he wanted to order food so I did that for him and set up our small outside table to we could eat under the last bit of light for the day and then watch the sunset together.
The food arrived pretty quickly and we ate in the sunshine which wasn't the warmest considering the time of year but it was relatively nice today. We finished the food and I took the plates back inside and to the sink before going back out to sit with George who was now laying down on the grass staring at the sky which was beginning to turn slightly pink. I chucked the glasses at him and he put them on as I laid down besides him leaning against him.
We watched as the sky continued to fill with all sorts of colours from purple to orange like it does on days like this which is why I always watch the sunset whenever I get the chance. Once the sun had fully gone down George pulled me on top of him so that my head was laying on his chest as he played with my hair.
"Have you had a good birthday?" I asked
"I've had the best day all thanks to you and those amazing glasses" he said
"I'm glad you like them I just like watching your reactions to things" I said
"Well expect to see them a lot more because I love your eye colour and want to see it more" he said
"You are so cute" I giggled
That night we laid under the stars before cuddling in bed, it has just been a wonderful, day overall getting to spent so much time together and doing new things like being outside for so long.

"I still can't believe you went after Bowers," Richie scoffs.
As he steps off his porch and onto his lawn he looks over at his best friend and takes another gander at the bruises and welts littering her skin. Her lip was still busted and despite his and his mother's efforts to clean her bottom lip of blood, it must have started bleeding again sometime during the night as more had crusted over.
"Yeah, well," she shrugs. "It felt good,"
"Yeah," he snorts. "It looks like it,"
"You know what I mean," She elbowed him and he nodded with a little laugh.
"What d'ya want to do? I mean, we could keep standing around here like a bunch of idiots, but-" he shrugs, hands falling into his pockets, and Y/n smiles.
"I dunno," she shrugs. A wince falls over her face, a painful-looking one at that. "But I don't think I'm gonna be welcome back at the Capitol Theatre any time soon."
Richie nodded, a ghostly look falling over his face at all that had transpired in the past twenty-four hours alone. He still couldn't believe she had done that. He still couldn't believe a lot of things but her being in his corner after what she had found out seemed a little harder to believe right now. Especially after the junkyard... But - Jesus, that was already a week and a half ago, it felt like only hours.
He could hear her words from the park the other day in his ears and he suddenly felt the urge to pay her back. He smiled his charming crooked smile and hoped for the best.
    "You still craving fries?"
"Always," she answered, a look of suspicion written in her features. "Why?"
Y/n didn't know why she kept asking these questions when she knew the answer. She didn't at all like the look growing in his eyes or the stupid feeling of guilt growing in her stomach.
"Cause I'm prepared to make a deal with ya toots,"
     "Oh, yeah?"
"Sure am," he says, patting his hand over his left pocket. "I'd been saving up for a long weekend at the arcade but that's a bust. And I just got a raise on my allowance ━ that's again, toots. Allowance. It's the money you get when you do stuff for people, you might never have heard of it--"
"Is there a point here, Rich? Cause if so, you better get to it faster,"
"Point is, I'm packing and I'm also craving milkshakes. So how's about I treat you to the biggest pile of fries your staved ass has ever seen--"
Y/n shoots him a knowing look, ready to detest when he holds out a finger.
"If," he continues. "you take me there."
    "Take you there?"
"Take me there," he nodded. "By piggyback."
Y/n gave thought to this, all while hiding behind an unimpressed look. As much as she hated to admit it, she was starving.
Richie shrugged. "Hey, you're the one always saying you don't want to feel like charity. Well, this ain't charity, this is work with a reward. Take it or leave it,"
Her unimpressed look grows stronger in an attempt to buy her time. But it's useless, her stomach answers for her with a long growl and a smile sneaks up on her.
She steps forward, crouching down a bit for him to jump on her back. "Alright, let's get this over with."
· · ─── ·𖥸· ─── · ·
"You know, I was really worried about carrying you, but dude, you weigh like nothing. You're a fucking bean pole," Y/n says.
She comes to a slow before straightened her back letting him slide off her back and onto the ground. The two of them had arrived at the nearest diner in the town square where they now stood.
"Well, not to brag or anything, but," he fluffs his collar. "I took a massive shit before we left,"
"Ugh!" a shocked and uncomfortable laugh breaks loose from Y/n and she sticks out her tongue in disgust. "Regretting this already."
She threw open the doors and the two found themselves inside one of Derry's lesser diners.
It smelled like sausage and coffee beans, and it had a vibrant red and black theme. There were maybe nine or ten people there, little kids included and they could hear the jukebox blasting a David Bowie song. Y/n had a hard time enjoying it with the combination of a full bladder and an empty stomach so she turns to Richie and nudges him with her elbow.
"I'm gonna run to the restroom. Get us a booth?"
"Do your thing," Y/n nods and disappears around the corner. As his eyes follow her, they land on the corner in question she had disappeared around where there sat the jukebox.
He wanders over, eyeing the machine as Changes reaches a crescendo. A mischievous smile blooms as the lights from the window illuminated his face.
"Three plays for a dollar, huh?"
· · ─── ·𖥸· ─── · ·
When Y/n returned from the restroom, she had expected to find Richie lounging in a booth somewhere, feet up and bugging the employees. She did not expect to turn the corner and nearly collide with the boy as he stood at the Jukebox and feeding all his money into it.
"Dude! I carried you here, you owe me fries!"
"And you shall get them my liege," answered Richie in a Shakespearean tone. "But first!" He dropped the act and looked away from the Jukebox for the first time, wearing an almost evil grin. "A social experiment,"
Y/n's brow furrowed as she watched Richie punch in the same Tom Jones song over and over and over. It was then she caught on to what he was doing. She held out a hand as her eyes watched the Jukebox.
"Hey, hey, hey, wait," she said, stopping Richie in his tracks.
He looked up at her with a pout. "Relax, toots. I saved just enough for their biggest basket of fries, you'll get them." Then Richie saw the look on her face. He could practically see the gears turning.
"No, not that. It's just..." she said, eyes never leaving the list of songs. "Before you put in more, you should throw in one It's Not Unusual,"
And that's when the afternoon went from good to great.
· · ─── ·𖥸· ─── · ·
By now, the duo had ordered and waited. They now sat tucked into a corner booth with a great view of the street corner and the passers-by of Derry. Changes had long since ended, and the remaining songs in the queue had trickled out. Richie memorized the song queue and was silently counting down until the big moment as he sat across from his battered-up best friend.
Her busted lip poked out in a bored pout, her chin propped up on her palm as she balanced her head on the table while looking out at the graying town landscape. It always escaped her how Derry could possibly look so gloomy on even the hottest, brightest days of summer. Until recently that is, the truth all too clear to her and her friends now.
The thought of the Losers scattered all over this hellhole only added to the gloom. They should all be here, together. Pointlessly debating which condiment goes best with fries, not fighting over... Over what they had fought over.
Y/n's eyes finally broke away from the manhole at the center of the little intersection outside and wandered over to Richie. He had stolen the salt and pepper shakers from a few empty (and not so empty) tables and was currently doing his best to construct a salt and pepper shaker tower. His tongue was sticking out from between his curled lips and his glasses were sliding to the end of his nose at the angle he looking. The tower was nearly three shakers high and Y/n could hear him muttering, 'where's Haystack when you need him?' under his breath.
The gloom Y/n had been thinking so intently on was suddenly ebbed away at the sight, and the corners of her lips hooked into a small smile.
At least she had her favorite Trashmouth.
"If you keep undressing me with your eyes, I'm gonna catch a cold," said Richie, never once looking up from his tower.
    Y/n snorts. "You're unbearable,"
Richie shrugs defensively. "Hey, you're the one who said we're stuck with each other," he clicks his tongue and winks. "No going back on that kind of deal,"
"Oh, I meant what I said," Y/n releases her chin and folds both arms on the table. She hated getting all serious again, but she just needed to be sure. Her voice softens, trying to catch Richie's eye. "All of it, okay?"
Richie's hand around the salt shaker stops, and he pries his eyes off the tower and to his best friend. Despite her intentions and promises, everything that transpired the day before -- good and bad -- flooded over him and made him tense.
She suddenly offered him her pinky and a small smile.
    "Stuck forever?"
Richie rolls his eyes. He didn't quite know who to blame, maybe just the losers in general, but he was going all soft and lame.
"Like my ass and a toilet seat, toots,"
He locked his pinky with hers and the deal was sealed forever.
Y/n leaned back on her side of the booth and took a large swig of the complimentary water as her eyes returned to the streets. The chatter of the diner had died down a little. There weren't as many people since they got there, but they were still filtering in and out. But when Y/n had a hard time shaking off the images she had of her best friend in the state he had been, she deems it safe enough to lean forward and lowered her voice.
"You know," she began picking at her napkin, making slow and tiny tears here and there. "I--" she sighs, not knowing how or where to begin. "I wouldn't blame you."
Richie, having abandoned his shaker tower, frowns.
"I wouldn't blame you if maybe, it was -- or is hard to be..." she shakes her head again and rubs her forehead trying to find the words. "I wouldn't blame you if it was hard to be around me and Eddie," She blurts.
"I'm gonna stop you right there," Richie says. "We're not gonna do that, okay? You have exceeded your sappy meter and you're gonna need to wait about 48 hours for it to charge up again. I think we've both had enough, right?"
Y/n swallowed her words. She swallowed any promise she was holding out to him that their feelings for Eddie wouldn't change anything. That she wouldn't ever want to stand in their way, however true it was. And instead, she made a new one.
"Let's just agree, whatever happens, happens. Let that be whatever it needs to be. Even if that means neither of us gets to see that adorable, asthmatic pipsqueak ever again. Deal?"
Y/n fought the bittersweet smile threatening to appear. She could see it now. Richie knew what he needed to know about himself now, and that was already a lot for him to handle. She could see in his eyes he wasn't ready for the possibility of whatever was his feelings for Eddie Kaspbrak.
Y/n's stomach turns to knots when the thought crosses her mind, but that only confirms to her it was time.
She looks around the diner, looking for prying eyes and she still finds none. She leans in, voice lowered as she fiddles with her napkin again. "I'm uh--," she clears her throat. "I've never told anyone this, but..."
She lets out a sharp breath. "Well, let's just say Eddie isn't the first Loser I've ever had feelings for,"
Richie shakes his head, making a "what am I supposed to do with that?" face at her sudden shyness. She only gives him a solid stare until it finally clicks.
Richie collapses against the seatback with a gaping, triumphant look.
"No. Fucking. Way," Richie slaps his hands on the table and leans forward, and an ugly excited laugh comes barreling out of his chest. "You big homo!"
"Would you fucking shut up?!" Y/n hisses, reaching over and shoving him back against his seat by his forehead. She looks around the diner and determines no one had heard that. Maybe except one guy in his forties, but that was most likely about him knowing they did something to the jukebox. He was sat with his young kids, looking tired and all too suspicious of their laughter at the jukebox. Finally, she laughs a little. "Beep, beep you moron."
"You telling me you and Little Orphan Annie...?"
"I'm saying," Y/n sighs, shrugging her shoulders. "I meant it when I said you're not alone, alright?"
The look in Richie's eyes hardly changes.
"No!" She answers. "No, nothing's happened but..." Y/n shook her head. "I had feelings for a really long time, up until about two years ago."
"Wowza," Richie sighs, leaning back into his seat and plopping one hand on the table. He sighs. "We sure know how to pick em,"
"Yeah, you could say that," Y/n laughs.
In fact, that's all she could say. A million things ran through her head, things she wanted to say to Richie but couldn't. Cause when she looked in Richie's eyes at that moment she -- they both -- knew everything unsaid could remain that way. With one look they knew. They knew that they could both count on each other, have each other's back. And that included Eddie too. They knew that no matter who held Eddie's heart, they could both agree that Eddie's happiness -- and each other's -- was most important.
The sound of brass instruments invaded the atmosphere, pulling the duo's eyes to the jukebox across the diner. Their faces lit up in matching grins, both of them nearly forgetting the psychological horror they had just unleashed upon the diner.
    "What's new pussycat? Woah, wo~ah,"
And thus began the best meal they ever had.
- 𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗔𝗨𝗚𝗨𝗦𝗧 -
Y/n relished at the demanding burst of cool air that bombarded her sweaty skin as she stepped inside Keene's pharmacy. The grip on the money she had scraped together tucked tightly in her right palm grew tighter when the shopkeeper's bell announced her arrival. Her eyes fell to her injured leg, and by now her feet have already begun their journey forward towards the first aid supplies. The last of the bandages secured around her leg, and she winced at the faded and stained cloth that was in dire need of a change.
Her eyes pick up from the ground when she hears a choked gasp only to find the boy that had been occupying her thoughts standing before her.
"Y/n," His voice is meek and heavy with sadness, and you can hear the absence of breath in his lungs that she always seemed to create.
Despite the staggering stampede of emotions she felt, she found herself releasing a chuckle. "Hey, shrimp."
The name itself would have been strong enough to send hooks into the corner of his lips, tugging them into a half-smile had it not been for the sight before him; she was a wreck. Looked as if she had been put through an actual wringer and his heart stops for a moment, in fear. At that moment he is grateful he has his inhaler, Y/n had a talent for taking his breath away but he never would have dreamed of it happening this way. Already his mind is going at twice its speed, a mad swarm of thoughts that dizzy his head, and as quickly as he can he tries to pluck one - just one - thing to say to her. When he finally speaks, he is thankful that his voice has returned to him.
    "How's your leg?"
He doesn't have to ask, the first thing he saw - the very feature that tipped him off about her - was the blood-soaked bandages wrapped around her left calf. He couldn't imagine why it would still be bleeding, much less this profusely given how long ago it had been. Perhaps it had opened back up. And Eddie felt it best not to address the new set of scrapes and bandages that were scattered across her arms and legs, though each one filled him with worry. But her eye... it was completely swollen, and several shades darker than a usual bruise.
She grew rather sick looking at the question and instantly he was filled with dread. Had It gotten to her again? Was it something new entirely? Either way, he felt a great deal of guilt he hadn't been there, and more than anything he wanted her safe. Maybe, if it wasn't too crazy, be the one to look out for her. To protect her.
"I just," she swallows thickly, eyes darting around to avoid his eye line.
Eddie tilts his head, encouraging her to continue. She looks as if she's about to unload a great deal off of her chest, but after a moment she shakes her head.
"Nothing," she lies. "Just need new bandages."
Eddie's horrified expression does not waver, but only intensifies, zeroing in on her. He just simply can't ignore the state she's in. And while every instinct inside him screams to jump in and help, he knows that's not his call nor his place. But he had to ask, he had to know.
"Are you okay?" He blurts suddenly. He mentally slapped himself. Of course she wasn't. "What happened...? You're leg? You're eye? Are you in trouble at home? Was it...?"
She grows tense, and Eddie scolds himself once more when he sees her walls rebuilding themselves. He hated his stupid word vomit sometimes.
"No, Eddie!" she says tiredly, sighing at her slight outburst. "I'm..." she sighs again, staring at the floor, looking almost... calculated.
Finally, she picks her head back up, her expression flat, but her tone a bit softer. "Just Bowers. The usual."
Eddie couldn't help but feel like she was lying. And that hurt him. But he understood. If she had pressed him about things at home he probably would have done the same. Eddie sighed deeply as well.
He missed the way things were.
    He missed Y/n.
He missed the feeling he got around her, the storm of butterflies and mind-numbing fits of laughter they'd bring out in one another. He missed the way his skin would tingle like every blood cell was on fire when their skin accidentally brushed together. Eddie missed the way he'd lose himself in thoughts about her like he was now.
Eddie didn't realize it until that last thought crossed his mind, but this was the first time in weeks he felt something other than anxiety and fear. And maybe he was crazy, but when he looked in Y/n's eyes now he thought he saw it too -
"I'm sorry, Eddie," she says, breaking him from his daydream, sending him falling back down to earth. "But I really need to take care of this."
He glances down at her leg, the bandage still soaked with blood and he feels fear squeeze his chest again. She was leaving. And that meant he had to, as well. He would have to say goodbye and go back home to his mother. He could hear her haunted cries, whining at him and wailing. What took you so long, Eddie? Don't you know what you're doing to my heart?
Eddie goes rigid at the thought when he realizes; the last time he saw Y/n... Those horrible things his mother had said to her and he... Jesus, what she must think.
"Y-Y/n," he sputters desperately as she begins to limp around him. She had gotten no answer for once again he had gotten lost in his thoughts. But he couldn't have it end like this. He just couldn't. "Y/n, I'm sorry."
She stops in her tracks and looks back at him, thoughtfully. A sad smile graces her face.
    "I know, shrimp,"
Her eyes hold a thousand words, a million things she wants to say to him as he wants to say to her. But they die out, and she turns away.
    "Y/n!"
He couldn't let her go, he just couldn't. Then why was this so difficult? He always had a mouthful to say, but around Y/n L/n, Eddie was always speechless.
"I wanna..." he gulps, a pleading, sincere look in his eyes. "I wanna see you again." He admits.
Y/n smiles sadly. Like she doesn't want to let him go either. But still, she gives him a pleading look after gesturing to her leg.
"Eddie, I gotta take care of this,"
His head sunk to the floor and he nodded, embarrassed. Of course, what the hell was he thinking? She didn't need him coming in and messing things -
Her sudden sigh broke his thoughts. "Meet me outside in five? I could use some help,"
A nervous smile broke out, stretching and hurting his cheeks and Eddie nodded when he met her eye. He was out the door without another word, back in the alley where he had first bandaged her up all those months ago.
His mind raced with possibility and more unanswered questions. What would he do, what would he say? What had happened to her, and could he have been there to stop it? His face still burned with embarrassment when he thought of the things he let his mother say to her, how livid he was with himself.
It was all he could do not to bounce off the walls from the jitters. The crates from the last alley visit, or at least some like it, remained and so Eddie eagerly took a seat. His knee bounced up and down at unnatural speeds as his mind raced, his eyes wandering the alley as the wind swept in a familiar summer breeze against his cheeks.
"I really need to focus right now," he orders, his hands making delicate work of the bandage over the new kid's stomach.
"You need to focus?" Richie snorts over his shoulder, causing Eddie's cheeks to burn.
"Yeah, can you go get me something?"
    "Jesus! What do you need?"
"Go get my bifocals. I hid 'em in my second fanny pack."
Y/n leaned forward, balanced on her knees with a crooked smile that would with Eddie for days. "You have a second fanny pack?"
The burning in his cheeks grew, and Stan joined in. "Yeah, why do you have two?"
Eddie didn't dare meet anyone's eye, let alone Richie or Y/n's.
"I need to focus right now and it's a long story. I don't want to get into it."
Besides! He was telling the truth! He needed to focus. Who knows what kind of shit has gotten into this kid's system by now?
Eddie had nearly finished with the new kid's bandages when he heard the jingle of the store bell.
"Yep. Thanks." Came the hardened voice of Y/n backing out and towards the alley with a pressed and forced smile before turning for the alley and away from whoever she had been talking to. Eddie was the only one to have caught the small whispered words under her breath from the silence of the alley. "-for nothing, I guess..."
Eddie shot up from his seat, subconsciously straightening out his shirt.
"Everything okay? What was that all about?" He asked as Y/n finally joined him. Eddie sputtered, mentally kicking himself for prying. "I mean, you don't have to tell me or anything, it's just you seemed frustrated. You know what never mind, you probably want to get your leg fixed up, right?"
Eddie stopped again, shifting on his feet when he realized Y/n must be waiting to talk. "Sorry," he mumbled. And to his great surprise, she smiled.
"Don't be. I've missed your word vomit," she joked.
Eddie could feel the corners of his lips twitching up in a smile, and something happened to him he hadn't felt in a long time; flutters invaded his chest, making the air he breathed feel lighter and his stomach was doing flips. And he would have fallen harder had he known Y/n's stomach was doing flips right along with him, and a burning sensation lighting up her neck and ears.
"Well, here-" Eddie said, snapping out of his daze, no longer able to stand by and ignore the gash in her leg. He supposed it really was like old times. He stepped aside, gesturing for the crates and taking the bag of supplies Y/n had handed over.
"For real though," Eddie began, eyeing her nervously as he unzipped his fanny bag and begun fishing inside for hand wipes. "What happened, Y/n?"
Her smile fell, and her eyes dropped to her lap where her fingers fiddled together. To Eddie, it felt like a long time before she finally answered.
"A lot's happened since Niebolt, I'll leave it at that,"
Eddie nodded, and stepped forward, lowering himself to his knees before her injured leg, and began unwrapping the first of the supplies from her grocery bag. "It feels like years ago,"
    "Yeah, it does," Y/n croaks.
There's another small silence and Eddie feels a tug in his chest when her eyes linger over him. He only spares a moment to meet her eyes back before taking a deep breath and holding it. With a wince, he unraveled the cloth and quickly discarded it. He tried not to linger on the injury; the edges of her claw-like scars remained, but it looked as if they had been messily pried back open.
Like deja vu, Eddie found himself battling to keep his lunch in his stomach, but the overall worry in his system for one of his best friends triumphed over it this time around. He dismissed the urge to gag and instead darted his eyes to Y/n in between his work.
"So..." he asked, realizing he didn't really know where to start. "how have you been? Other than, you know," he laughed nervously.
    To his relief, Y/n smiled.
"It's hard not being around the losers. I only ever see Richie anymore. Even Bev and I haven't really spoken since the fight, which has been really hard. We've been in each other's lives for so long,"
As Eddie finishes cleaning the wound, his heart sinks a little at her words. True, he missed Beverly very much. But he also knew all too well what Y/n spoke of, and judging by the look in her eye as she softens at him, she knows it too. She gives him a gentle nudge with her foot.
"He misses you too," she says, growing another small smile. "Won't shut up about you, in fact. Which is saying something... Guess I'm one to talk, though," she adds, watching him nervously out of the corner of her eye, and Eddie's heart skipped another beat.
"What about you, shrimp? Dare I ask?" She says with a smile.
Eddie, Y/n noticed, had been unusually quiet. By now, on any other occasion, he would have talked laps around her by now but something was keeping him. Maybe he just feels a bit out of step, she thinks, as she did. It had been far too long since things had been normal for either of them. But something told her he was now particularly quiet perhaps because he wasn't all that eager to share how things had been for him since the losers split. She couldn't imagine things had been well at home with his mother given everything that had transpired.
So she didn't pry. She changes the subject, hoping to get his mind off of whatever might be bothering him. Her mind returns to his previous questions, and she bites the bullet.
"Quitting my job." She says finally, stunning Eddie enough to pull his attention away for a split second. "You wondered what I was doing there. And aside from restocking, I was um... I was quitting my job."
"You got a job at Keene's Pharmacy? When?" Eddie asked, reaching for a strip of gauze.
Y/n seemed to think about it for a minute, counting the days in her head before shrugging. Leaning forward, she holds the gauze in places Eddie begins applying the bandages. "I guess a little over two weeks after Niebolt. I did little things around the store, this and that really,"
"How come I never saw you?" Eddie asked, and Y/n shrugged.
"He had me running errands most of the time," and she smiled a little. "But sometimes I'd stick around a little longer. I'd offer to sweep or restock the shelves or something. It's stupid, I know, but... I don't know, I guess I was hoping to see some admittedly cute... shrimpy little dude come walking in to refill his inhaler. Is that stupid?"
Eddie paused, unable to hide the smile or the raging blush taking over his face. Y/n smiled to herself when she saw it, and she'd be lying if she said she wasn't feeling a little bit of it too. Finally, Eddie spoke. Or at least, he tried to. His voice came out hoarse and he cleared his throat, quickly shaking his head as he secured the bandages in place and began disinfecting his hands.
"No. No, that's not stupid at all. I mean, I don't know if I'd say shrimpy, necessarily, maybe a little skinny but-"
Y/n laughed, smiling hard at the boy she hadn't stopped thinking about for weeks. Like Eddie, she hadn't realized just how much she had missed him until now. But, she hoped, maybe she could change that.
Eddie trailed off, his ears burning at her laugh but a smile on his face all the same. At this moment, everything was perfect. Or seemingly so, at least. And then...
    "Thanks, Doctor K,"
He smiled, a sinking feeling in his chest knowing what was coming next as she hoisted herself back on her feet. "Yeah, of course."
A silence falls over the two, a silence they know won't last.
"I guess I should get going," Y/n says finally, gesturing down the alleyway. "I'm meeting up with Richie later, he's swinging by my place." And for a moment, she looks hopeful and Eddie already knows what she's going to ask. "You're welcome to come. We both really miss you,"
Yet again, Eddie Kaspbrak finds himself with a million thoughts racing in his head, but no words on his tongue. What could he say that wouldn't hurt her? What could he say that wouldn't essentially admit he was still a coward who couldn't stand up to his own mother? What could he say?
But evidently, he doesn't have to. Y/n can see it in his eyes, and any trace of hope deflates with her. She nods sadly, eyes now on the ground and her freshly bandaged leg. "I get it, Eddie. It's fine. You don't have to say anything."
"Y/n..." He didn't know what felt worse; knowing he let her down, or the sound of her using his real name.
    "Really, it's okay,"
But it wasn't okay. And Eddie knew that. Today he had been given a second chance with Y/n, and already he had fucked it up. Or so he thought...
A smile returned to her face just before she left; it wasn't nearly as bright as it had been moments ago, but it was as real as any other he had seen all summer. And then she spoke. She spoke the three words over her shoulder as she disappeared out of view that returned a familiar spark to his chest.
    "I'll call you."
    There was hope yet.

I saw that your request was open, so I wanted to ask if you could make a one shot with this small thing ice been having in my head? So basically reader can't find venti anywhere so went on a long journey to starsnatch cliff to find him playing his lyre by the cliff, he like turns round and smiles at the reader " you found me " PLS AJSBSNS
venti, my chaotic idiot bard boy. i love him. i also might be looking at making new banners now that i’m logged in on dash and can use my photoshop
Tumblr media
“(name), paimon... what brings you buy at this time of day?”
diluc looked up from the glass in his hands to see the (color) haired traveler standing in the doorway with an almost frantic look on his face.
“paimon and (name) are searching for that tone-deaf bard,” paimon answered at her companion let out a groan of defeat. “as you can see, we haven’t been able to find him anywhere.”
(name) ran a hand through his hair as he looked stepped further into angel’s share, just to see if venti was sitting somewhere out of sight. he knows it was unlikely but god, it was so hard not to assumed something bad happened after that whole thing with la signora. he hadn’t heard a single word or even caught a glimpse of the bard all day. it was worrying.
the red haired male shook his head with a sigh. “well, i’ll keep my eyes out for him. if i spot him, i’ll let you know.”
“thanks, mr. diluc! paimon is sure that (name) is grateful too,” paimon grabbed onto the traveler’s arm to drag him out the door of the tavern. “come on, we should check outside of the city. he’s probably perched somewhere like bird and playing his lyre like always.”
“yeah... you’re probably right.”
...
(name) groaned as he wiped off some hydro slime condensate off his cheek, glancing up at the floating girl at his side. “we’ve searched all over mondstadt, i really pray he’s not hurt.”
“paimon thinks he’s just toying with us, like hide and seek.”
“if he is, then i’m going to kick his ass because this hasn’t been funny,” the (color) haired traveler pursed his lips as he cleaned off the slime from his blade.
he froze mid-motion as he heard the sound of venti’s lyre carried through the wind. he could feel the tears of relief build up as he took off towards the direction the wind was coming from, leaving poor paimon behind.
“wait! (name)!”
the male shook his head, ignoring the cries of his companion, entirely focused on reaching the source of the music. the iconic green of the bard’s outfit came into view as he reached the edge of starsnach cliff, fueling the traveler to run even faster.
“venti!”
the anemo archon turned his head, stopping his playing. a bright, big smile grew on his face as he spotted his beloved traveler. “there you are, (name)! you finally found me-”
the bard was barely able to finish his sentence just as he was tackled to the ground, (name)’s arms wrapped tight around his waist and face buried in the crook of his neck. this made venti’s smile drop a little. “hey, what’s wrong? did something happen while i was gone?”
the traveler’s arms tightened a little more as he softly shook his head. “i was so scared something happened to you. after what la signora did to you, i was worried they would go after you again.”
a soft smile graced venti’s lips as he ran his fingers through (name)’s soft hair. “oh, my dear traveler. i’m sorry for scaring you, i never had the intention to. you work so hard for mondstadt’s well being so i wanted to give you a little leisure time.”
(name) softly gripped the back of the bard’s cape as he buried his face deeper into his neck. “next time... we can just have a lazy day in bed or something, you tone-deaf bard.”
“your words wound me, dear (name),” venti teased, resting his cheek against the traveler’s head. “but ok, next time, we will just do that.”
“promise?”
“cross my heart.”

Chapter 12
Beep, beep, beep
It didn't stop, didn't pause, didn't even quiet down.
Hange tried to ignore the irritating sound, tried to forget about it and return to the dark place where she was safe and warm.
Beep, beep, beep
As though mocking her, it got louder and louder, allowing Hange no respite. Accepting that this battle wouldn’t end in her favor, she groaned and forced her eyes open.
The ceiling above her was white, the walls surrounding her were mostly white too. The bed she was lying on was also white, and to her hand was attached a thin line of IV.
Huh. It was a while since she had the pleasure to wake up in a hospital.
Hange meant to continue her survey, but everything else was too blurry for her to see. Glasses. Where were her glasses?
Her hand flew to her face, touching her nose. No glasses there.
With a considerable effort Hange pushed herself up into a sitting position. She blindly reached to her left where a bedside table stood. She moved her palm all over it, there was lots of things on top of it. No glasses, though.
"The first drawer," a voice behind her helped.
Hange obediently opened it, her fingers immediately finding the familiar shape of her glasses. She put them on and sighed in content, as the world around her finally came into focus.
She turned her head to the direction the voice was coming from. Next to her bed stood another one, separated by a blue curtain. In the corner of it she could see Zeke. Their eyes met, and he gave her a weak, but unexpectedly genuine smile.
"Welcome back to the world of the living."
"Was I out for too long?" Hange frowned, trying to recall what had happened. She remembered Floch, remembered that horrible room in Zeke's safe house, remembered his brother, the erupting pain in her side as he had shot her and the dangerous glint of Floch's blade near her throat. She remembered being afraid and sorry for missing her another chance and not telling Levi how she truly felt all these years. Remembered Levi rushing in, saving her. Remembered his trembling fingers and soft touch. Remembered how he held her and refused to let go all the way to the hospital, remembered—
That was all she remembered.
"It's been almost a day since doctors operated on you," Zeke explained. "You've got your friends worried."
Hange looked to her bedside table again, gawking at the amount of gifts there. There was a box of candies from Nifa, teddy bear from Moblit, balloons from Keiji and Abel, a giant bouquet from Erwin... And a small postcard that stood at the far side. Hange picked it up, studying curiously. Her lips curled up and she giggled - the postcard was from Pieck.
"And what happened to you?" Hange looked back at Zeke. His torso was bandaged and he was unusually pale in the face.
Zeke grimaced, lifting his eyes to the ceiling. "My brother turned out to be a better shooter that I've anticipated."
"And..." Hange began uncertainly. Her fingers curled into the bedsheets, she wasn't sure if she wanted to know, but— she decided to ask anyway. "And what happened to Eren?"
Zeke sighed, pushing hair back from his face. "I took care of him."
Hange looked down, not knowing how to feel about it and what to do with that knowledge. Should she say something to Zeke? Tell him that she was sorry? Or that he did the right thing? What he wanted to hear? He probably didn't wish to hear either.
"And what happened to your eye?" she pointed her finger at a large bruise that bloomed on his face. "Was it... Eren as well?"
"No," Zeke scoffed. "That was your partner, detective. An eye for an eye, I guess," he chuckled dryly.
"Levi..." Hange's heart fluttered at the mention of him. "Do you know if he's—"
"He's been by your side this whole time," Zeke rolled his eyes. "He left just a few minutes ago. I'm sure he'll be there any moment now. He barely slept while you were out."
"Oh..." Hange couldn't help her smile. She wanted to see Levi so much...
"Jesus," Zeke groaned. "The two of you are sickening. If I spend another day watching you, I'd get cavities from your damn sweetness. Damn it, and I can't even smoke here..."
Zeke obviously meant to complain some more, but he fell silent, as the door to the ward opened. Hange turned to it with a grin that dissipated almost immediately, a heartbeat after she saw Petra's sheepish smile instead of Levi's gloomy scowl.
"Disappointed, aren't you, detective?" Zeke mocked with a shit eating smirk.
Hange discreetly flipped him off and roughly closed the curtain between them.
"Sorry about that," she mumbled, giving an apologizing look to Petra.
"It's alright," she said. "Levi is just behind the door, Oluo is distracting him while I'm here." Petra tutted, her auburn locks flying as she shook her head. "I had no choice but to resort to this. He doesn't let anyone else see you. Only Captain Erwin was allowed inside, and that too lasted just for a few minutes."
Hange chuckled, her heart swelling. Yep, that's the ridiculously protective shorty she knew and loved...
"I know you can't wait to see him, too," Petra winked, taking note of her pleased expression.
Hange flushed, but the embarrassed blush turned into angry one, when she heard a not so subtle scoff behind the curtain.
"So I will be brief," Petra sat down on a chair beside Hange, setting her hands on her lap. Her fingers twisted together in a nervous matter as stared at the floor, appearing deep in thought. After a long moment, she lifted her eyes, a small, slightly crooked smile playing on her lips. "I just wanted to thank you for... giving me strength back there. I lost all hope, thought I was done for, but you... You kinda rekindled that light inside me. You showed me what true bravery and resolve means."
"Petra," Hange smiled, reaching out to gently squeeze her hand. "I should be the one thanking you. On the night Levi and I reunited, if it wasn't for you, if it wasn't for your bravery and resolve, who knows what would have happened? Perhaps, I would have never gathered enough courage to face Levi. Perhaps, he would have never found out that I actually survived. Don't sell yourself short, you're a strong and courageous person, and have been like that long before we met. You have a bright future ahead of you. I'm excited to witness it."
Petra bobbed her head, her smile growing wider, more open. "And I'm excited to learn more from you. But as for now," Petra stood up and fixed Hange with a rather strict look.
She is learning things from Levi too, Hange thought with an amused smile.
"Rest and gather your strength. Everyone is waiting for you to come back. Someone is more impatient that the others. I need to go before that same someone rips Oluo's head off for keeping you away from him. Take care," Petra waved her hand, gifted Hange another bright smile and left.
As soon as she closed the door, Hange heard a familiar, grumpy voice.
A second later, Levi walked in. His eyes widened when they met hers. With his hand still on a doorknob, Levi stood at the threshold, staring at her with an intent look.
Hange almost squirmed under his gaze, it was too intense to belong to Levi. She wondered what was the reason for it.
But then the spell broke, and Levi looked away.
His steps heavy, he marched further into the room. He didn't head to her bed, though. Instead he stopped next to Zeke's.
"If I hear just a pip from you," he warned in a low voice. "They'll have to prolong your stay in this hospital."
Levi didn't wait for Zeke to reply and turned on his heels, taking a seat next to Hange. Crossing his legs, he just sat there, his gaze not moving away from her face.
He didn't glare, didn't scowl, just stared like Hange was the most interesting thing in this room. Her stomach turned, and she wasn't sure if she liked this feeling or not.
"Where were you?" she asked, when it became evident that Levi wasn't going to start a conversation.
Her question made him look away, just long enough to roll his eyes.
"That idiot Oluo ambushed me in the hallway. Demanded an advice from me."
"An advice?"
"On how to be a good detective," Levi answered, before Hange could get funny ideas about other types of advice. Not that Levi was knowledgeable enough to give them. "Erwin decided to promote him. Now Petra will have a new partner."
"You and Petra won't work together anymore? Then who is going to be your new partner?"
"Yeah, Hange," Levi sat back in his chair, crossing hands on his chest. "Who will it be?"
"You," Zeke stage whispered.
Levi's eye twitched.
"I told you—"
"Wait," Hange put a hand on his arm, quelling his anger. A heavy feeling settled in her stomach, a hope that was ready to get crushed. She frowned at Levi. "Can I even return to work? Technically, I'm still dead."
"Erwin is working on it. He pulled some strings, asked a few favors..."
"And?"
"He managed to restore your documents. He even kept your full name."
"He wanted to change it? To what?"
Despite the faint blush, Levi held her gaze firmly. "Ackerman."
Now it was Hange's turn to feel flustered.
"And by the way," Levi rose to fluff and fix the pillow underneath her. Hange tried to ignore the subtle tremor she noticed as his fingers moved. "You'll have to stay at my place for a while. Erwin is looking for an apartment, but since most of your stuff is already there..."
Hange couldn't help it - she started laughing. God, both of them were so hopeless.
"Aren't we moving things a little too fast?" she gave him a sly look, a flutter inside her returning as Levi snorted.
"Too fast? If you ask anyone else, four-eyes, we're moving things way too slowly."
Well... Hange certainly couldn't argue with that.
"And if you want to help things move along more smoothly," Levi sat back down, putting his hand on the bed, his fingers almost touching Hange's. "I remember you promising to tell me about your type."
Hange did promise that, she almost did tell him too, back in his office, when they received news about Petra. It wasn't the right time back then. But now...
"My type is certainly one of a kind. You have seen him, though."
"Where?" Levi grew just a little bolder, moved his hand just a little closer to Hange's.
She grinned and shortened the distance, intertwining their fingers.
"In the mirror."
The possibly sweet, tender moment was ruined by a loud groan that was followed by, "God, I never thought that flirting could be so torturous."

heart of glass // fred weasley
masterlist!
request (from @bitchywhisperswizard <3): Hi! I absolutely LOVE your writing! Could I maybe request where Fred Weasley breaks up with reader before the war and thinks she died? Only to find her a year later in the muggle world like a celebrity performer? I understand if it doesn't make sense. Thank you!
a/n: thank u for the request!! i refuse to believe fred d*ed, but i am a sucker for fred lives au’s. also went a little grunge w this just because i love those pictures of metalhead james and oliver :) (i listened to miley cyrus’s new cover of heart of glass while i wrote this so i just called it that)
summary: Fred broke up with you just before the war, and when he couldn’t find you after the battle cleared he thought you died. You’re alive and well, living as a celebrity among the muggle world. One night reunites you two, and neither of you can deny the feelings that spark.
(2.5k)
------
Clutching the white sink beneath your fingers, you barely recognized the person looking back at you in the mirror. Your eyes were sunken and swollen, your lips puffed and red. Your cheeks were hollowed, casting shadows into your face. You lifted a shaky hand, pushing your hair out of your face and revealing a scar on your temple.
You had barely made it out of the war, and once you did, you had no intentions on going back.
You made a new life in the muggle world, and eventually you were able to do what you had always wanted to do: perform.
It was about ten minutes before you were due in stage, and your nerves had stopped buzzing a long time ago. You dipped a finger into some black eyeshadow, spreading it haphazardly across your eyes. You looked dead, and it showed what you felt like on the inside.
Not a day passed in which Fred Weasley hadn’t thought of you. Not a day passed in which guilt hadn’t plagued his heart and mind. Every day, for just over a year, the image of tears streaming down your face as he broke up with you was glue to the inside of his eyelids.
George tried to understand but he could never understand the pain. He tried to help his brother when he could.
“Freddie!” George called to him from across the store, heaving in a huge box.
“Yeah?” Fred replied from behind the counter, pushing heavy buttons on the loud till.
“Look at this,” George quickly removed a hand from under the box, shifting his weight. He handed Fred a flier he found posted in the side of the shop.
It was a black flier, advertising some muggle bar in London. It looked like the sort of crowd the brothers gravitated towards some odd five years ago. Skulls and grunge symbols littered the page, and Fred found himself smiling fondly at it.
“Want to go?’ George asked, setting down the box in its right place, starting to unload the new shipment of chocolate wands.
“Aren’t we a little too old for this, George?” Fred said with a sad smile.
In that moment, George had the feeling he didn’t recognize his brother. His own face, but tormented with worry, sadness, and the unfriendly effects of time. George furrowed his brow, and tried to continue.
“No! It’ll be fun,” George reassured, slapping a hand on his brother’s back.
This was how Fred found himself clung to the bar all night, nursing a beer in his hand. He didn’t like muggle alcohol as much, but he supposed it would do.
The bar was in the back of the crowded club, but it barely had any people by it. Everyone had rushed to the front of a stage, the entire room filled with enthusiastic screams. George hovered near the back of the crowd, where Fred could still see him, swinging back and forth to the music they played over the speaker.
Fred and George had liked going to concerts after the war. The flashing lights and loud noises were difficult at first, very difficult, but it was one of the things that helped them recover.
Fred looked around over the top of his drink, surveying the crowd. It was mostly made up of people who looked like him five years ago, people who hadn’t been through a war, or lost their ex-girlfriend in that war. People who didn’t feel like crying every second of every day. The crowd didn’t look like you or Fred.
Someone knocked on your door, their words muffled by the ringing in your ears. You shook your head, letting your hair fall naturally in it’s place over your scar. You pulled up the high boots you wore, and fixed the sheer tights that dove into them. Pulling the top of your tank top to cover your chest some more, you felt the cold air hit your slightly exposed stomach. You stood off to the right, backstage, waiting as people poked and prodded at you, fixing wires and handing you things to hold that they would eventually take back from you.
The nerves still didn’t come, but you hadn’t expected them to. Nothing made you nervous anymore, nothing made you feel anything, really.
Someone held the curtain open for you, and at the slightest movement the crowd roared. Fred turned his gaze towards the stage, and George moved forward in the crowd.
You looked out into the sea of people, and you could make out a few faces in the front. You had requested dulled lights for all of your shows, unable to handle the bright lights that often came with performing. A purple light hovered above you, illuminating you with the cool hue.
You cast a smirk out into the audience, moving to your mark at the center of the stage. Your band filed in behind you, and you tugged at the cord for the microphone, giving yourself some slack. The crowd was still just as loud as when you came out, and you started your first song.
You couldn’t hear anything but your own voice ringing through your head, booming through the earpiece tucked behind your hair.
From the bar, Fred found his glass shattered on the floor beneath him. It hadn’t even made a sound over your powerful voice coming from what felt like every angle. He couldn’t move, his eyes just locked on your almost unrecognizable face. Even though you looked like him, tired and full of regrets, eyes sunken and cheeks hollowed, he would recognize you and your voice from anywhere.
He had heard you sing almost everyday since he met you. You hummed next to him in class, you chorused obnoxiously in the common room, and you sang to him softly while the two of you laid in bed.
Looking at you now, bent at the knees and almost squatting as you nearly screamed the chorus for what he could assume was your own song, he felt like he couldn’t breathe. Everything washed through him, the guilt, the sadness, the worry, the pain.
George was next to him in a second, shaking him by his shoulders. A gleeful smile spread across his face and he just chanted: “She’s alive, she’s actually alive, Freddie!” over and over.
Fred couldn’t believe it, he had always wanted something like this to happen, to replay it all and make sure you hadn’t died, and now that he saw you living and breathing he didn’t know what to do with himself.
Fred ducked into the bathroom, splashing water over his face until he felt like himself again. He fixed his hair, regretting not getting a haircut earlier in the week like he had wanted to. You did always like his hair long, though. He looked down at his buttoned down shirt, the flowy sleeves rolled up halfway up his arms. He tucked it into his jeans, trying to smooth it out some.
George was waiting from him outside the door, biting his nails.
“She’s amazing, mate,” George said. Your voice echoed around the room, and still floated to their ears from the corner they had hidden away in.
“She always was,” Fred mumbled.
“I can’t believe it,” George said, his mouth agape and shaking his head in a disbelieving way.
“Do I look okay?” Fred asked his brother, holding his arms out a little.
George tugged at the sleeves, evening them out and making the rolls more neat.
“Yeah,” he said, pulling Fred with him.
The two sat and listened to you sing until Fred couldn’t take it anymore. The brothers left the venue, moving out onto the chilly London street. They walked around the back, where your crew had parked. They waited.
You finished your show, leaving the stage with the usual rush of adrenaline. You could never sit still inside after a show, and you rushed past your crew and out the back door. The cold air hit your skin, nipping at your sweat covered face and torso. You reached back inside, your hand finding a stool with a pack of cigarettes on them. You came back outside, fiddling with the package. You pulled one out and brought it to your lips, and realized you didn’t have a lighter. These were the moments you wished you still had your wand. It was always easier to smoke when you were a witch.
“Need a light?” someone spoke, coming from out of a shadow.
You immediately felt tears brimming your eyes, looking into the familiar brown eyes and flaming red hair.
“George?” you croaked, voice weak from the singing and the tears threatening to spill over.
George and you took steps towards each other, and he wrapped you in his arms. You cried into his chest, not really knowing why. You supposed you missed him, or maybe it was the fact that he looked strikingly like the boy who had broken your heart.
“Y/n,” another voice, a voice you would know always, called from behind him.
You shrunk from George hesitantly, wiping your eyes. You looked down at your hands, seeing them covered in smeared black makeup. You looked back at George’s shirt and saw a similar mark. You looked up at him apologetically, but he just beamed back at you, waving it off. You watched him pull his wand from his side, and with a simple movement, the stain was gone. You felt yourself crying harder.
You turned back to Fred, who had also started crying. The two of you lunged at each other, a mess of forceful limbs trying to wrap around the other.
“I thought you died,” Fred called out, burying his head into the crook of your neck.
You sobbed in response, your body shaking against Fred’s. He pulled your tighter, like he had regretted ever letting go.
You felt like you could never compose yourself, but you eventually did. Fred’s eyes were red and swollen, and you had wiped the tears off his cheeks. He did the same charm George had done to get the makeup off his shirt.
You led them inside, back into the venue. All of you sniffled as you walked together. You waved to security, telling them they were with you, and ignored your manager as you slipped into your greenroom.
“You were amazing up there,” George said, taking advantage of the full bar you had in the room.
You took the glass he had made for you, gulping down the harsh alcohol in one swig. George chuckled, ducking into the mini fridge and handing you a soda.
“So your a muggle now?” Fred croaked, his eyes locked on his glass.
“Turned in my wand after the war,” you answered, putting the soda on the table beside you because you couldn’t trust your shaking hands.
“We missed you,” George spoke, sitting next to you on the couch.
You forced a smile on your cracking lips, glancing at him.
“I thought you died,” Fred spoke, finally looking up at you.
Your eyes widened, mouth opening slightly.
“Couldn’t find you after,” George said, forcing himself to remember, “looked almost all night. Lifted every stone we could find.”
Your eyes drifted down, tears filling them again. You swallowed hard, hating yourself immediately for the pain you put them through. You couldn’t even compare it to the pain Fred put you through, because at least you knew he was alive.
“I left,” you mumbled, lip quivering a little, “Just after the dust settled. I flew home and packed everything I owned.”
Fred scoffed across form you, and both you and George’s head shot up to look at him.
“I thought you died,” he repeated, sounding harsh.
“ ‘M sorry,” you mumbled, tasting the warm and salty tears falling into your mouth.
“Why didn’t you say goodbye?” George whispered from beside you, swallowing hard.
“I dunno,” you admitted, wiping your tears with the back of your hand, “I just had to leave. I didn’t think you would have wanted to see me.”
You spoke to Fred, referencing the harsh breakup a month before the war. He looked at you, hurt in his eyes.
“Of course I wanted to see you,” he said, sounding hurt that you could even think that.
“You broke it off with me, Fred, what was I supposed to think?”
“I only did that to keep you safe!” Fred yelled.
“Well it didn’t keep me safe! It just hurt more!” you shouted back, pulling your hair off your face and behind your ears in a stressful motion.
Fred looked at you, shocked. His eyes fell to your scar, and you covered it with your hair again.
“I’m sorry,” he finally spoke, sounding regretful.
You nodded your head, looking at the ground.
“I’ve missed you, Y/n,” George spoke, his voice soft, “here.”
He slipped a card into your hand, and you looked down at it. It was a business card. Your mouth widened into a smile, and before you could stop yourself, you were laughing.
“Did George Weasley just give me a business card?”
George smiled back at you, chuckling with you.
You examined the card, reading the gold writing. ‘Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, Fred and George Weasley’. The card had an address on it.
“Visit the shop some time,” George said, standing, “I’ll meet you at home, Fred?”
Fred looked at George, furrowing his brow. George made a motion for Fred to sit, and Fred sighed. George hugged you and left you with Fred.
You two sat in silence, he nursed his whiskey and you picked at you fingers.
“You really were amazing up there,” Fred finally said, putting his glass on the table.
“Thank you,” you said sheepishly.
“I still love you, you know,” Fred said confidently, looking straight into your eyes.
Your lips parted, hearing the words you had wanted to hear for about a year, and you didn’t know what to say.
“I love you too,” you whispered.
Fred stood from his chair and moved over to you, sitting next to you. His hand found yours, and you sat together. Neither of you had felt anything like this in a long time. The numbness receded into you, allowing space for love and relief to fill you. Fred no longer felt the weight of guilt and worry, all that banished just by a glance at your face.
Your hand still shook in his, and he held it tightly until it stopped. He turned towards you, bringing a hand to your face. He pushed your hair off your face, looking at you scar.
“Is that from-” he trailed off, his thumb tracing the mark.
You nodded, flicking your eyes away from his. He snaked it hand behind your neck, and pulled your face close to his. His lips connected to your scar, and he held you there for a moment. You closed your eyes, melting into his touch.
“I don’t ever want to be apart from you again,” he mumbled into your face.
“Me neither,” you whispered back.

alpine
a/n: hey guys! so since i’m literally obsessed with the bucky/alpine storyline from the marvel comics, and since i have this reblogged, i found a prompt about a cat! so... here’s a blurb based on prompt 9.
9- “I didn’t know you had a cat.”
Tumblr media
-
Ever since Bucky was introduced to the Avengers and moved into the compound, he was very quiet and private, to say the least.
He would stay in his room mostly, only coming out during meals and sometimes when Steve would coax him out to spend time with the rest of the group.
But that all changed when Bucky met you. You were the Avengers’ resident doctor after Dr. Cho left due to personal reasons.
This also meant that when Bucky came back from Wakanda, he had to have regular checkups on his arm that Shuri adjusted, and that task was designated to you.
So once a week, Bucky came to your part of the med bay, and you two got to know each other over the course of time.
Bucky was of course, immediately smitten by you. You were kind, caring, and just a bit shy, which gave him some confidence. You really enjoyed the time you two spent together, but you knew you weren’t ever going to say anything about your crush on Bucky. You were way too shy to put yourself out there for him like that, and if he didn’t feel the same way, you’d have to flee the country and change your name.
Totally not kidding.
When Bucky came in for his physical therapy and checkup today, something was different, though.
Tucked in the crook of Bucky’s dark, metal arm, was a ball of white fur.
What?
“Hey doll, what’re we doin’ today?” He asked, setting himself down on the doctor’s chair in the corner of the room.
“...Bucky?” you asked, furrowing a brow, gesturing to the creature nestled in his arm. “What’s that?”
“Oh! This is Al, short for Alpine, I guess.” He answered, running a flesh hand over the cat’s white fur.
“I... I didn’t know you had a cat...” Was honestly all you could muster, not looking away from the adorable stature of the kitten.
“I found her out on the streets one day on a run, she was shakin’ like a leaf in the cold. I couldn’t just leave her out there all on her own.” Bucky tried to defend himself.
“She’s adorable.” You smiled at the cat, but Bucky was watching you. “Can I hold her?” You asked meekly, hoping you weren’t overstepping.
“I- yeah! Just- she doesn’t really like people, she scratched Steve once-” But Bucky’s spiel was cut short when Alpine crawled out of her place on his arms and leaped into yours.
Alpine started smelling your hands, your face and your white coat, trying to commit your scent to memory, and immediately starts purring when you scratch the back of her neck. Alpine was an absolute sweetheart. You wanted to keep her forever.
Bucky simply watched you two in awe, not believing how kind Alpine was being. She was usually cold and unwelcoming towards strangers, and it blew Bucky’s mind that she was quite literally rolling in your hold, causing you to giggle.
“Bucky, how come you’ve hidden her for so long? She’s absolutely precious!” You laugh, rubbing Alpine’s belly.
Bucky was watching your face so intently, watching the joy that you were experiencing because of Alpine. He’s never seen you smile this wide. He was absolutely enraptured by your smile, and the fact that you were getting along so well with Al makes his chest flutter. It meant something.
“Hey, do you think you’d wanna go grab some lunch after this?” Bucky finally musters after intent appreciation of the moment.
“Oh- uh, yes! I’d love to! Let’s get started, actually,” you breathed out a laugh, apologizing for getting sidetracked.
While you two worked on Bucky today, a blush covered your face the entire time, making it evident that you were flustered from being so close to him, and for later.
And while you two were hard at work, Alpine nudged Bucky’s foot, sending a knowing meow in his direction while he watched you type notes for his file on your computer.
“Alright, we’re all good for today! Did you wanna go now, or...” You asked, fiddling with your fingers.
“Yeah, let me just go put Alpine back in my room-” Bucky started.
“No!” Bucky quickly turned around at your sudden outburst. “I-I mean, she can just come with us! It’s beautiful outside, I don’t mind. She’s been a joy to have around.” You breathed out, hoping you weren’t sounding as out of breath you felt from your heart beating out of your chest.
“Sure, that’s fine, doll.” He smiled, waiting for you to take his hand that he extended out to you at the door.
As you slipped your hand into his, you watched as it is dwarfed yours, making another wave of heat wash over your face, your stomach fluttering.
“Let’s go, angel.” Bucky held your hand firmly in his, smiling. Little did he know, the team was watching from the glass walls, cheering and whooping at you and Bucky.
