✨GF FC INDIGO AWARDS 2024 PT 11✨
part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4 | part 5 | part 6 | part 7 | part 8 | part 9 | part 10 | part 11 | part 12 | part 13 | winner's list | after party
Some points to note before you move to the event visualizer :
🟣 My anchoring style is highly energetic and bubbly so you can imagine me doing a lot of hand gestures, changing pitch and tones of my voice, moving around on the stage a lot, etc. Hehe.
🟣 The theatre/event venue has been engineered by the best engineers of the world, with the most modern technology. The petals of the lotus can close or open to hide or reveal the night sky. It can also change its colours. For tonight, it's indigo!
🟣 The "OUTFIT CHECK" were clicked in different places (according to where the member was spotted first) hence the different background.
🟣 I didn't want to write too dialogues on yall's behalf but I can't really bother you with every small detail, so I hope whatever dialogues I've made up are not too out of character!
🟣Ignore the contradiction of same blue locker entering the scene multiple times, pretend there are a few copies of each member 🥰👍🏻
🟣 Ignore the outfit mismatch in the edits (any edit after the outfit checks please, our editing skills only go so far 🙏🏻 )
🟣 I highly suggest that you listen to songs as you keep finding them being embedded in links for added feels and extra hype! 🔥
🟣 The performances where multiple songs have been used is supposed to be a mashup. You can imagine the mashup to be as you please! The songs I've bunched together are for the sole purpose of creating a particular vibe, so as long as to they are fulfilled it's all good! 😌🤝🏻
🟣 The posts are scheduled at a gap of 3-4 hours each, this event is going to be spread throughout 2 or more days. Feel free to go feral in the comments/reblogs/community my mates. 🔥
🟣 I hope you enjoy this! Tagging all the attendees here :

Nami : Yeah Soleil? 😙🎶
Soleil : That's not what I meant 😭

Even thought I literally just "got into" the Gf fc like 1 month ago, I feel very welcome here. And it's kinda strange, because I feel like I can be who I am with you all, even though I don't even know you in real life! You're all amazing individuals, and I would like to thank all of you for simply being who you are and helping me every day, even without you knowing.
On a second note, I'd also like to thank my boyfriend, Tabito, and my dog, Zuck. You both have helped me achieve this! [*Camera cuts to Karasu clapping and cheering for her proudly*]
Thebestsetter : Thank you both for being there for me and always supporting me!
Lastly, I'd like to say I never imagined I would actually win an award, but look at where I am now! Again, thanks a lot. I hope we can continue being friends and talking to each other in the future, cause really, the GF FC feels just like a family!
Thank you, I love you all!
Nami : Aww 🥺

I have worked hard for this, but so has every single woman in this field, and for that, i dedicate it to all of them. Thank you so so much <33

"Are you sure/That we are awake? It seems to me/That yet we sleep, we dream" –A Midsummer Night's Dream
"Hey, Shelly," you say with a smile at the small book store you are currently checking out in. "Good to see you again."
"You as well! Only one book this week?" Shelly asks and you nod.
"Yeah. I have too much work to do, so I can't focus on more than one book," you say.
She scans your book and you pay quickly. She hands you the book back and says with a smile, "Enjoy your book!"
You nod and turn around quickly, taking a step, before colliding with someone. The books in their hands go crashing to the floor, and you do as well, crying out as you land suddenly on your tailbone, and stars flash before your eyes.
"I am so sorry, I shouldn’t have been that close and I wasn't paying attention, and I should have been looking where I was going and-" you hold up a hand to silence the man who was speaking a mile a minute in front of you.
"Really, it's okay. It was my fault," you say, wincing as you try and get up.
The man holds out a hand out and you take it. "I didn't hurt you, did I?"
He takes his hand back almost immediately once you're standing and you smile. "No, not really. Just bruised my tailbone," you say and the man sighs.
You lean down and pick up a couple of the books he was carrying, and when you go to the last book, his fingers brush yours. You look up and see your faces are inches from one another, and you feel your face heating up. You see him blush as well and you both pull your hands away. You stand up so he can grab the last book and you shove the books you're holding into his arms.
"Sorry again!" you say, not looking at him, and you leave because you can’t embarrass yourself any more.
It isn't until you're in your car that you realize you gave him your book as well.
"Doubt thou the stars are fire; Doubt that the sun doth move; Doubt truth to be a liar; But never doubt I love." –Hamlet
You walk into the Alley Cat Café, a new café that just opened a block from your flat that also offered an area where you could hang out with adoptable cats. You never went in there because you would just adopt all of them and you didn't have the time for that right now.
You walk into the café and the little bell above the door jingles to signal your arrival. You walk up to the counter and order your regular, the Calico Chai, and pay before finding a seat near the back close to the window where you could watch the cats. Your order is called, and as you get up, you look over to a table, and see a very familiar man reading a book at a remarkable speed.
You distractedly grab your tea and go back to your table, gathering up your things before plopping yourself next to the man.
"Hello again!" you exclaim and he jumps, looking up from his reading to glare at whoever interrupted him.
When he locks eyes with you, however, his eyes widen. "Oh! Hello!" he exclaims and a small smile forms on his lips.
"I think I may have given you my book on Tuesday," you say sheepishly, and his eyes widen even more and his mouth drops open adorably.
He turns and fishes around in his bag, before turning back to you and holding out a book in both hands. "I've been carrying it around with me hoping to give it back to you," he says, blushing, and you grin, taking the book from his hands, your fingers brushing his.
"Well, thank you," you say, grabbing the large book.
"So, the complete works of Shakespeare, huh?" the man asks and you nod.
"Yeah. I've never actually owned a copy before," you say. "I've only taken it out from the library or borrowed it from friends. I actually wanted to major in Shakespearean studies in college before ultimately deciding to go another way." The man nods, and silence falls over you for a moment before you say, "You know, I never got your name."
"Oh! Doctor Spencer Reid," he says with a wave.
You wave back and say, "Doctor [Y/N] [L/N]."
"What's your doctorate in?" he asks, excited.
You reply, "Biological Anthropology. I teach it at Georgetown."
"That's where I got my PHD in Chemistry," Spencer says and you grin.
"Really? When was that?" you ask.
"Thirteen years, two months, six days, and seventeen hours ago," he says and you blink owlishly.
You think for a moment before saying, "You must have been really young when you got that."
He nods. "I was seventeen. It was my second PHD. I have three. One in mathematics, one in chemistry, and one in engineering. I also have five BAs."
You stare at him for a moment, not saying anything, before you whisper, "That's really impressive." You feel your cheeks heat up. "I didn't get my PHD until I was nearly 25."
"I have an IQ of 187, and eidetic memory, and can read 20,000 words a minute," he says and you smile.
"You're one of a kind, Spencer Reid," you say, holding your book to your chest. "That must have been a very lonely childhood though," you remark, and he looks away from you. He nods but doesn't say anything. "What do you do now?"
"I'm a profiler with the FBI in their behavioral analysis unit," he explains and you smile.
"Maybe I'll have you come in and lecture to one of my classes some time," you say and he smiles. "Though Biological Anthropology isn't very exciting to anyone but me…" you look away and scratch the back of your neck, but Spencer assuages your fears.
"Actually, I find it quite interesting. I read an article the other day about how work stress is actually de-evolving humans, causing their bones to actually lose density, causing them more physical pain and inability to do physical tasks, as well as loss of sleep, appetite, and more," he says, and you grin.
"But, the study was only on French individuals, and it could have different results based on where the study is done. Like, in Japan for example, there may be the same amount of stress but they handle it better because in their culture, work is just a part of life and you have to deal with stress. Or in America, where we have different ways of dealing with stress that may cloud the findings," you add, and he nods.
"That is true, though you'd have to factor that into the initial hypothesis and-"
Spencer is cut off by his phone ringing. He picks it up and the phone call ends quickly.
"I'm so sorry to have to do this, but I have to go to work. We have a case," he says and you nod in understanding.
"Of course. It was nice talking to you Spencer. I hope we can talk again some time!" you exclaim.
A small smile tugs at his lips and he says, "I do too, [Y/N]."
You stare at each other for a couple moments before he turns around and leaves the café. You sip your now cold tea and realize you didn't get Spencer's number.
“Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt." –Measure for Measure
You sit at the bar and nurse your glass of water as the music and lights cause a headache to split at your temples. You groan and massage your head, but it doesn't do anything to relieve the pain. You take another sip of your water, and look up to see a familiar face looking down at you.
"Co-workers bring you here too?" Spencer asks and you smile and nod.
"Yeah. It's Fiona's birthday today and she wanted to go to a club," you say, and Spencer sits down next to you. "I got dragged along. And apparently I got a splitting headache too."
"Do you want any help with that?" Spencer asks and you look at him, questioningly. "Turn around."
You do as he asks, slowly, and you feel his fingers lightly resting on your neck. You wince as he presses into your spine right where your head and neck meet, but after thirty seconds he releases, and your headache dissipates. You grin and turn around.
"How did you know to do that?" you ask.
He shrugs. "I had chronic migraines when I was younger, and I read a book on pressure points once," he explains and you nod in understanding.
"Right. You're a genius," you say with a forced smile and he frowns. You sigh. "You just…" you put a hand on his cheek, and he stiffens for a moment before relaxing into your touch. "You make me feel inferior. Like I'm just never going to do as well as you."
Spencer grabs your hand lightly and squeezes it, putting it away from your face as he looks into your eyes. "Trust me, you have nothing to worry about. You're a doctor working at one of the best schools in the country," he says and you smile. He returns it. "And, don't compare yourself to me. I can read 20,000 words a minute. I'm a freak. You're more normal than I am."
"Spencer Reid, don't you ever say that again!" you exclaim, taking his other hand in your own. "You are not a freak!" He goes to protest but you take one of your hands from his grip and put it over his lips. "Nope. No arguing. What I say is final."
You pull your hand away and you see he's smiling. "Yes, Doctor," he says, his words dripping with sarcasm.
You grin, before gasping. He looks alarmed as you say, "Oh! I forgot!" he places his hands on your arms. "You didn't give me your number in the café!"
He sighs in what looks to be relief, before reaching into his pocket and taking out his wallet. "You want to see a magic trick?"
You nod and he grins an adorable smile that has you grinning as well. He holds up a business card, probably his business card, and moves his hands in front of his face, and when they cross back over, the card is gone.
"Oh come on! It's behind your hand! I know this trick," you say, and he raises an eyebrow.
He opens up his fingers and turns his hand around, showing it's nowhere to be seen. Your eyes go wide and your mouth drops slightly in awe.
"Hey, I think you have something in your hair… right there…" he says, pointing to your left ear, and you reach up before he can touch you.
You feel something, and when you pull it out in front of you, you see it's Spencer's business card.
You laugh and flip the card over, checking to see if it's real or not. But it very much is.
"Wow Spencer, that's amazing!" you exclaim and his cheeks flare red. You take out your phone and put his number in, calling it. He looks up at you and you place your phone to your ear. He picks up and you say with a smile, "There. Now you have my number too."
"This sounds very strange, can I hang up now?" Spencer says out loud, and it's repeated in your ear only moments after. You laugh and nod, and the two of you hang up your phones.
Almost immediately, his phone starts ringing again, and you put up your hands in innocence.
"JJ," he says into the receiver, pausing for a moment, before saying quickly, "I'll be right there." He hangs up his phone and places it in his pocket, before saying quickly. "Sorry, that was work. I really have to go."
You smile and nod. "You have a job to do. Go save some lives." He smiles and turns to leave, but you call out, "Spencer!" he turns around and you stand up, lean forward, and place a kiss on his cheek. "For good luck."
He grins and walks out of the club. You watch as a couple more people file out, and sit back in your seat and finish your water.
"Do not swear by the moon, for she changes constantly. then your love would also change." –Romeo and Juliet
You're flipping through papers when you hear someone call out to you.
"[Y/N]!" they shout and looking up you see Spencer Reid walking down the hallway towards you, a messenger bag slung around his shoulder. He was wearing something similar to what he was wearing in the club only two nights ago.
"Case ended early?" you ask and he nods.
"Yeah. Child abduction. We had less than forty eight hours to get the child back alive since the family didn't report her missing until twenty four hours had passed," he says.
"And did you? Get the child back alive, I mean," you ask and he nods. You grin.
"Oh, good. So! What are you doing here? You didn't come just to see me, did you?"
Spencer blushes and you place a hand on his arm. "No, Doctor Priya Chopra wanted my help on an article she's going to write about fungal growth on skin and the potential benefits it could have, as well as any side effects it may cause," he says and you nod.
"Well, I can show you to her office! She's new so it wouldn't have updated on any maps yet," you say and Spencer nods.
He stops and you halt in front of him, turning as he says, "Oh! Do you want me to carry any of your papers?"
You smile and shake your head. "No, it's okay. I'll just have to walk back anyways. My office is in the other direction."
"Oh, I don't want you to have to go out of your way. I can probably find it on my own…" Spencer trails off, looking helplessly at the myriad of plain beige hallways.
You shake your head and bump your shoulder with his. "Really. It's not a big deal. I want to do this," you say with a smile.  He smiles back and you lead him down a couple hallways, until you stop at a door with a nameplate that reads, 'Dr. Priya Chopra, PHD'.
"Well, this is your stop," you say, almost sad with a slight slump to your shoulders. "With that eidetic memory of yours, I don't think you need me to show you around anymore."
Spencer places a hand on the small of your back and points at the paperwork in your arms. "You look like you could use a little help. How about I come by after my talk with Doctor Chopra? I know where your office is," he says and you grin.
"I would love that, Spencer," you say, and watch him until he disappears behind Doctor Chopra's door.
"One may smile, and smile, and be a villain." –Hamlet
You hear a knock at your door and you look up from your work to see a familiar head pop out from behind the door. You grin and say, "Parker! It's good to see you again! Come in."
The young man with dark circles under his eyes slowly walks into your office, he wrings his hands out in front of him, and sits down in the chair across from yours. He slowly takes his backpack off and reaches in, pulling out a grey folder. The movements were slow and methodical, but you can see the young man's hands shaking slightly as he does so. Finally, he pulls out a stapled stack of papers and holds it out to you.
You take it carefully and frown, looking it over. It was one of his essays that you just gave back a couple days ago with a big red 'F' on the front.
"Why did you fail me?" Parker whispers and you sigh.
You lean back in your chair, folding your fingers on your stomach as you say, "Your essay is all over the place. There isn't a coherent theme or message in any of it. Also, you should really find someone to help edit your grammar at least. You have misspellings and incorrect comma usage all over the place, Parker." The man in question looks down away from you and you sigh again, this time louder and lean forward onto your desk. "How about this. Go to the writing center on campus, find someone to help plan out your essay, and if you do a good job, I'll bump up your score to at least a B, if not more if you do really well, okay?"
Parker looks up at you and gives you a toothy, forced smile, almost as if he doesn't smile much in his life, and says, "Thank you, Mr. [Y/N]."
You smile and nod, handing the paper back to him, and just as someone knocks at your door, he gets up.
Opening the door, Parker comes face to face with Doctor Gerard Holden, professor of microbiology at Georgetown, and the man looks shocked for a moment before steeling his expression and saying over Parker's shoulder, "Dr. [L/N], do you have a minute to talk?"
You smile and nod, before addressing Parker again. "Parker, I want to see that essay on my desk in a week and a half at the most. I hope to see some improvement."
Parker doesn't turn around but he nods and slides out of your office as quickly as he can without touching Dr. Holden. When Parker leaves, the older man walks into your office and closes the door behind him.
"That boy is very strange. I don't know how you put up with him. I've had to kick him out of class before for being disruptive and talking out of turn," he says and you sigh.
"He's a good kid and an even better student. I bet if you pushed him a little more, and actually called on him in class, he wouldn't interrupt so much," you say and the doctor in front of you is pale. "But, I hope you didn't come here to discuss our students."
The man shakes his head and goes into a lengthy question about having you guest lecture during one of his classes. You agree quickly and get the time and date and what you'll be covering before Dr. Holden opens the door to your office.
You see Parker standing on the other side of the door, and you know he heard everything you and Dr. Holden discussed about him.
"They do not love that do not show their love." –The two Gentlemen of Verona
It's a Saturday. You and Spencer are sitting in your apartment reading. Spencer's stack next to him is significantly smaller than yours, and whenever he finishes a book, he places it on your stack. Whenever you finish yours, you place your book on the ground and pick up whatever book Spencer just finished reading.
It's nice.
"If music be the food of love, play on, Give me excess of it; that surfeiting, The appetite may sicken, and so die." –Twelfth Night
"Come on! I don't want us to miss this!" Spencer exclaims, grabbing your hand, and pulling you along as he runs through the small park.
"Wait! Spencer! I didn't know we were running! I would have brought my inhaler!" you exclaim as you try and keep pace.
Spencer doesn't stop though as he says, "It's not far, now come on!" The two of you continue to run through the trees, and eventually you come upon a clearing. There are a few couples there, but not actually as many as you would have expected. The thing that shocks you the most are the group of college age students all standing around with boxes in their hands.
"Spencer what-"
"Shh!"
You step closer to him, still holding his hand as the students all step up, and take the tops off the boxes. Light start flying out of the uncovered cardboard boxes and you realize that they're lightning bugs.
You gasp as a swarm flies towards you before dispersing into a hazy cloud of blinking yellow and green emanating from the lower abdomen. You reach out and the bugs fly away from your hand in streaks of light and you laugh. You turn, grinning at Spencer's face. He's looking right at you.
In the low glow, you can see Spencer's handsome features on display. His cheekbones are softer in the light, his auburn hair a deep brown and his hazel eyes reflecting spots of green back at you. You reach up and place a hand on his cheek. He looks beautiful.
"What is this?" you ask, breathless.
He smiles softly and you look down at his lips. They look inviting. "The biology majors at Howard under Professor Trudy study fireflies for a semester before releasing them here. Did you know that many fireflies do not produce light? Usually these species are diurnal, or day-flying, such as those in the genus Ellychnia. A few diurnal fireflies that inhabit primarily shadowy places, such as beneath tall plants or trees, are luminescent. One such genus is Lucidota. Non-bioluminescent fireflies use pheromones to signal mates. This is supported by the fact that some basal groups do not show bioluminescence and use chemical signaling, instead. Phosphaenus hemipterus has photic organs, yet is a diurnal firefly and displays large antennae and small eyes. These traits strongly suggest pheromones are used for sexual selection, while photic organs are used for warning signals."
You're silent for a minute before you say, "You said firefly."
Spencer frowns. "Huh?"
"You said firefly. People around here say 'Lightning bug,' which means you're not from around here. Where are you from?" you ask, and his frown subsides.
"Las Vegas," he says and you smile.
"You're a long way from home," you reply, looking around at the lightning bugs floating lazily around you, taking in their new environment. You look back at him and say, "I'm glad you're here Spencer. I'm glad I ran into you at the book shop. Literally," you say, laughing lightly.
"Me too," Spencer says with a small smile on his face.
You lean up and kiss him, quickly, before pulling back, not really giving him a chance to react. He stares at you, his eyes wide and his mouth hanging open, before leaning in and capturing his lips in yours again. You lean against him, turning so your front is pressed against his, he places his hands on your hips and you thread yours through his hair and rest them on the back of his neck.
When you pull away, the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end, but you're so lost in Spencer's eyes you hardly notice.
"I am not bound to please thee with my answers." –The Merchant of Venice
You jump as someone hits their bowl a little too hard with their spoon, causing a loud crashing noise it seems like only you can hear. You can feel your heart rate picking up as another person accidentally drops a glass on the floor, shattering it. Your eyes dart around as people talk loudly over one another, shouting to be heard over the low din of the restaurant.
"[Y/N]!"
You look up at Spencer sharply, your eyes going wide.
"Are you okay?" he asks, reaching a hand out. You nod but don't take his hand, instead picking at your nails underneath the table. "I was just talking about the underlying effects of corsetry in the modern era…" Spencer continues as if nothing is wrong but another loud crash causes you to jump and lose focus from him again.
You hear Spencer sigh and you look up at him, your cheeks flaming up. "Sorry…" you mutter.
"What's wrong?" he asks plainly.
"I-" you begin to say, but flinch as someone laughs loudly at a table nearby you. "I don't really like restaurants. They're too… loud."
Spencer looks at you with that blank stare for a moment before sighing in what you hope is of relief. "Same here. A co-worker of mine suggested I take you out to dinner and when I told him I don't like restaurants either, he just said you would," Spencer explains.
You frown. "Who did he think I was? We read books in your apartment all the time!"
Spencer looks away sheepishly and pulls his hands into his lap. "I haven't used pronouns for you, so he assumed you were a woman."
You snort. "Wouldn't be the first time." Spencer frowns at you. "I've dated a lot of bisexual men with straight colleagues. The co-workers always assume I'm a woman."
Spencer nods, and the two of you are silent once again in the loud restaurant. You flinch once more as something crashes together, and Spencer sighs.
"Do you want to go somewhere else?" he asks, almost begging.
You nod enthusiastically. "Yes. Please. We can go back to mine?" Your eyes widen at that. "Not for sex!" you exclaim and a few people look over at you. You blush in embarrassment and say, quieter, "I-I just meant to read or watch a documentary or something. I didn't mean to imply."
Spencer smiles softly. "It's okay. I didn't even realize. I'm not sexually attracted to people."
Your eyes widen and you grin. "Me neither!"
Spencer grins with you and the two of you hastily pay and make a quick exit out of the busy restaurant.
"God hath given you one face, and you make yourself another." –Hamlet
"Mr. [L/N]?"
You jump and look up from your work and see Parker standing in your office. You put a hand over your heart and laugh. "Parker! You scared me!"
"Sorry…" he says, not making eye contact.
You chuckle as you say, "I should put a bell on you…" you see Parker flush a deep red but you ignore it. "So, what can I do you for?"
Silently, still red and blushing, Parker pulls out a stapled stack of papers from his backpack and holds it out to you. You take it and see it's the revised version of his essay you failed last week.
"I did want you asked…" he says quietly and you quickly look over the first page.
You smile up at him, grateful. "Thank you, Parker. I'll get it back to you by the end of the week-"
"NO!" he shouts and you jump at that.
"Parker, I have a lot of work to do and-"
But he cuts you off again, shouting, "No! Get it done now!"
You sigh, knowing he's not going to relent, and you pinch the bridge of your nose. "Okay. How about this. How many classes do you have left today?"
"Two…" Parker says, and you almost miss it seeing as he's so quiet.
You nod. "Okay. How about I work on it while you're in class and you can come back after."
Parker nods and without another word, leaves your office. You sigh loudly and lean your head into your hands.
"I must be cruel only to be kind; Thus bad begins, and worse remains behind." –Hamlet
That night, you're sitting in Spencer's apartment, his head in your lap as you both read. You can't help but think of Parker, of hearing him yell for the first time since you met him. The boy was always so quiet, except in class where he was engaged and able to answer every question, even if his answers were a little all over the place.
"[Y/N]?" You hear Spencer ask and you look down at him, dazed.
"Huh?"
"You haven't even looked at your book for six minutes and twenty-seven seconds," Spencer says and you frown. You put your book face down next to you on the side table and rub your hands over your face. You feel hands at your wrists, and they tug slightly, pulling your hands away from your face. "What's going on?"
"Just a student of mine yelled at me today," you say. Spencer frowns and you lean down, kissing where his brow was furrowed. "It's okay. I've just never seen him even raise his voice above a whisper besides when we're in class. And even then he doesn't yell." You pause, and sit back up. Spencer sits up as well and lets go of your wrists, leaning into your side. "A lot of the students and faculty don't like him because he's disruptive in class, but I know he's a good student. He's driven and knows a lot. He just needs to be pushed in the right way." You sigh again and lean over to rest your head on Spencer's shoulder. "I told him that I would finish editing his essay by the end of the week but he yelled at me, telling me to finish it right then and there. I told him I would finish it by the end of the day. I knew he wasn't going to stop asking, so I made a compromise I thought he could live with."
You look up at Spencer's face and see him frowning. "How long has he been like this with you?"
You let out a huff of humorless laughter. "What, you jealous?" you ask, joking.
Some of the tension eases from Spencer's face but he doesn't stop frowning.
"No, I'm not jealous. I'm just cautious." He looks into your eyes as he says, "You should be too."
You sigh and lean down, kissing him. "I know. I will be. I just don't want to push him away. I think I'm the only friendly face he has around campus…"
Spencer nods, and opens his mouth as if to say something, but he closes it, and the two of you spend the rest of your evening in silence, unanswered questions lingering in the air between you.
"Go wisely and slowly. Those who rush stumble and fall." –Romeo and Juliet
"You okay?" you ask Spencer one night while you're sitting on your bed together, watching something on your laptop. Tonight you were trying to get him into Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but he seemed more distracted than normal.
He looks up at you, a glazed look in his eyes before sighing. "The case we finished today? It was a stalker case. This man was in love with this woman and we had to make her tell him she was in love with him to get him to let his guard down," Spencer explains and you turn to face him, not saying anything. "We shot him. In the end. He died while the woman was sobbing into her husband's arms." You reach out and place a hand near Spencer, not touching him. He reaches out and takes your hand, kissing it. "I just keep thinking about how she'll never feel safe around another man again."
"You did what you could and you saved her life, Spencer," you say quietly and he looks at you sadly. "I'm so proud of you."
"But what about the people we can't save?"
You sigh and kiss Spencer lightly. "You can't think about that. Think about the families you saved, the women, the children. You saved a life! That's amazing, Spencer."
Spencer smiles and nods but he doesn't look convinced. You just kiss him again and go back to watching Buffy.
"<i>For which of my bad parts didst thou first fall in love with me?</i>" –Much Ado About Nothing
You startle as a knock sounds at your door. You aren't expecting visitors. Spencer's out with work, and he said not to expect him back for a few days. It's only been two, and he can't have caught the guy that quickly already.
But when you open your door, Spencer is standing there, his eyes puffy and red, and before you can ask any questions, he's pushing himself into your arms. You stumble back and close the door before sinking to the floor, letting Spencer cry into your arms.
"Love comforteth like sunshine after rain, But Lust's effect is tempest after sun. Love's gentle spring doth always fresh remain; Lust's winter comes ere summer half be done. Love surfeits not, Lust like a glutton dies; Love is all truth, Lust full of forged lies." –Venus and Adonis
"I love you," you say one evening while you're sitting on the couch, Spencer's head in your lap. You're running your fingers through his hair as you say this, making it fan out around his head like a halo of auburn curls.
He cracks an eye open at you and smiles. "Really?"
You roll your eyes. "Yes. I do. And I just thought I should say it," you say, and Spencer sits up, leaning in to kiss you. You put your hands on his cheeks and smile into the soft kiss.
He pulls away and says, "I want you to meet my mom."
Your eyes go wide and you open your mouth as if to say something, but nothing comes out. You frown before asking, "When?"
"I have some vacation time saved and we could wait until summer break!" Spencer exclaims, causing your frown to drop. "You're not teaching again until the second half of summer break, so we can see her then."
"I've never been to the west coast before…" you say, trailing off and looking away. Spencer goes to say something but you cut him off with a smile. "But, that's okay. I want to meet her."
Spencer grins and grabs your face, kissing you like his life depends on it. You laugh as he gets up and runs out of the living room, whooping with joy.
"I love you, Spencer Reid!" you shout.
"Love you too!" he shouts back.
"Lovers and madmen have such seething brains Such shaping fantasies, that apprehend More than cool reason ever comprehends." –A Midsummer Night's Dream
It's a week until the end of term, finals right around the corner, and you have been stuck in your office for most of the day. Most of the week actually. You gave your students the last few days off to study for their finals, and to finish their final essays for you while you finished editing the last of their work before you were bombarded with essays and tests.
Your phone rings on your desk, but you turn off the noise, groaning as the red light beeps incessantly. It's been doing that for the past half an hour. You even had to turn your mobile off and shove it into an unused drawer of your desk.
After another five minutes of the light beeping, you pick up your phone.
"WHAT!" you scream into the receiver.
"Uh, Dr. [L/N]?" you hear someone say quietly into the phone.
"You know, I'm very busy right now and I can't handle distractions so if you would just-"
"Someone's shooting up the school."
Your blood runs cold as a knock sounds at your door, and you watch the knob turning. You gulp as the voice on the other end of the line tries to get your attention, but you can't hear them. All you can hear is the creak of your door as it's slowly pushed open.
"Mr. [Y/N]!" You hear someone shout as they enter your office. It's Parker. And he's holding a gun. "I thought I heard you in here! Who are you talking to?"
You go to answer, but the words die in your throat.
"I- I don't actually know. They-they were calling to tell me about you," you say finally, hanging up the phone as the person yells on the other side of the line.
Parker closes your door and walks over to your desk with a happy smile on his face. "I came to get you, [Y/N]," he says, and you force a smile onto your face.
"Really?" you ask, hoping your nervousness doesn't give anything away.
He nods. "It's just you and me now! Forever!"
You gulp, but smile. "Uh huh…"
"The only thing left in our way is that whore who calls himself your boyfriend…" Parker says, and your smile drops.
"Spencer?" you can't help the wavering in your voice as you say his name.
Parker nods and places his hand against his chin. "Yes. Maybe you can call him? I'm sure he's already on his way over here."
You gulp, but nod. You pick up your desk phone and dial Spencer's number from memory. While your memory may not be anywhere close to as good as his, you forced yourself to memorize it in case it was an emergency.
After the first ring, the phone is picked up. "[Y/N]? Are you okay? I've tried calling you for the past twenty minutes and you haven't picked up!" Spencer exclaims on the other end of the line.
You take a deep breath before looking up at Parker, who's smiling expectantly at you. He nods. "Spencer, can you come to my office?"
"I'm outside. Is everything okay?" he asks.
"Tell him to leave his gun and vest outside," Parker whispers and you nod.
"You need to leave your gun and vest outside," you say, your voice shaking with every word.
"Oh!" Parker exclaims and leans forward. "And tell him if he doesn't do all that, I'm going to kill you."
You let out a sob and say into the phone, shaking, "If you don't do what's been asked, he's going to- he's going to kill me, oh!" you exclaim, another sob escaping your lips. You hear Spencer start to say something, but Parker puts a finger down on the plunger and you hear the dial tone in your ear. You slowly take the phone away from your ear and look at it shaking in your grip.
You watch absently as Parker's fingers brush yours, getting you to open your hand, and you let him take the phone, and put it back down on your desk.
You keep staring off into the middle distance, even as Parker's hand rests on your chin. He turns your head and your eyes lock onto his. You can see the simmering rage bubbling underneath the feigned love that he's projecting. It's probably not even conscious. You don't know if a man like him even <i>could</i> fall in love.
You hear a knock at your door and Parker moves away from you, but grabs your arm forcefully. Your hips push into the desk painfully and you let out a small whimper. Parker's hand on your arm relaxes slightly and he pulls you around your desk to stand next to him at his side, his gun pointed at the dark wooden door that is slowly opening.
You see Spencer slowly pushing the door open, his other hand raised to show he's unarmed.
"Stay there," Parker says, holding his gun level at Spencer's chest.
"Okay. Okay," Spencer says, putting his other hand up. "No one needs to get hurt."
Parker shakes his head. "No. No. They do. They're going to come in the way of us!"
Parker looks down at you and you look up at him, wide eyed. "No, they won't. No one can come in between us," you say, trying to keep your voice steady. "Spencer's right. No one needs to get hurt."
Parker closes his eyes and shakes his head again. "Spencer, Spencer… Why Spencer? Why him? Why not me?"
You grab his arm and say, "It is you, Parker! It will always be you!" you look over at Spencer, asking with your eyes if you're doing a good job, if this is what you should be doing. He gives you a miniscule nod. You remembered from before when you talked about guys like Parker. "I don't love Spencer. I love you."
Your heart breaks as you say this, but you know that Spencer knows it isn't true. Parker's the only one who needs to believe it.
"Say it," he says, before looking over at the man in question, "to him."
You gulp and look at Spencer, leaning more into Parker's side as you say, "Spencer, I don't love you. I never loved you. I'm in love with Parker. Nothing will be able to keep up apart."
"[Y/N]..." Spencer says, heartbreak evident on his face. Either he's a really good actor or he actually believes it. You sincerely hope it's the former.
Parker nods when you look at him, and grins. "Let's get out of here…" he says, holding out his hand. You take it gingerly and he pulls your back to his chest, still holding Spencer at gunpoint. He flicks the gun further into your office, and Spencer moves with his hands up, tears streaming from his face as he moves across from you in the room.
Parker backs up slowly through the room towards the door, his gun still pointed at Spencer. As soon as he steps out into the hallway, you hear the gunshot.
You feel Parker fall behind you, and you run back into your office, falling to the floor, and only then do you start crying. You sob loudly, and when you're pulled into a chest, you only cry harder.
You hear Spencer whispering to you, and you feel his tears on your hair, your neck as he says, "I can't lose you too. I can't. I just can't…"
You pull him closer, pulling your legs to your chest as you sob, "I love you. I love you so much. I didn't mean anything I said!"
"I know," he whispers, kissing your head. "I know."
"I love you with so much of my heart that none is left to protest." –Much Ado About Nothing
"I've never been to Vegas before!" you exclaim as you get off the plane. "Can we go to any casinos? I've never gambled before!"
Spencer chuckles as he grabs your hand, pulling you through the airport. "We'll see. I've been banned from a few, so I don't know if they'll let me in…" he says, trailing off and you laugh. "Did you know that what most people think of as Las Vegas is actually called Paradise? In the late 1940s, after the second world war was over, the city of Las Vegas actually banned gambling. The rich gamblers in town weren't happy with that so they created a town called Paradise and made gaming legal there. Well, it's not a town, but more like unincorporated land that doesn't follow Las Vegas' laws."
You grin and grab your bag when it comes around. While Spencer was talking, you had gone to the baggage claim and your bag had already been around once. While Spencer was used to traveling light, with only a go bag, you were not.
"I did not know that," you say, leaning up to kiss his cheek as he pulls out towards the exit.
You get the car he rented and you let him drive you to Bennington. He wanted to go back to the hotel for a night before seeing his mom, but you didn't want him to waste any more time. You would freshen up after.
You and Spencer are ushered through the sterilized, but still personable, halls of the sanitarium, and into a large room with a couple of other people in it. You see a blonde, short haired woman sitting on a couch and Spencer starts walking over to her.
When she sees him, her face lights up and she exclaims, "Spencer!"
"Hey mom," he says, giving her a wave. "I wanted to introduce you to someone."
She turns and looks you up and down, before wringing her hands out and looking at her son. "Is this the man you told me about in your letters?"
Your eyebrows raise at that and you ask Spencer, "You talked to her about me?" he looks at you, nervous, but you smile. "All good things, I hope." He grins and grabs your hand. You turn to Diana and hold out your hand. "Hi. I'm Dr. [Y/N] [L/N]. Spencer's told me so much about you. He really loves you."
She smiles and takes your hand lightly before letting go. "Yes, he's told me a lot about you too. He loves you too," she says, and you smile at him.
"And I love him," you reply.

Fluff Alphabet (Sirius Black)
Ship: Sirius Black x Reader
Triggers: Just mentions of alcohol and sex.
A/N: This is my first post and I hope you all enjoy it! I saw these abcs a lot on tumblr and I thought, why not! I decided to make a new alphabet instead of copying one because I thought it would be much more fair. Without further adu, let's go to the fic!
Tumblr media
Α - Activities (Hobbies and things you like to do together)
It is no surprise to anyone that Sirius adores his motorcycle. He simply adores the feeling of the air on his face, pulling his hair back while he looks down at the sight of London. It would only make it better for him, if you were with him too admiring the view and wrapping your arms around him. Perhaps you'd be frightened at first, but he'd make sure to make you understand you are in no danger while he is around. Well, almost.
B - Baby (do they want to have a baby with you?)
Not really. Don't get him wrong, he simply wants his freedom. He thinks you are too young and you should enjoy your independence as much as you can. However, (if you are a fem!reader), as long as you tell him you are pregnant he changes his mind about that completely. Suddenly, he wants to protect that little human and make sure his or her childhood is much better than his own. (That makes him father material)
C - Comfort (how to they comfort you after a bad day?)
If there is one person who knows what it's like to have a bad day, that's Sirius Orion Black. Personally, he usually lets it out on alcohol or sex. But he would never let you do that. Instead he'd pour you just one light drink and let you tell him all about it while you rest in his arms. He'll try to be of help in every way possible. No one has the right to hurt his baby.
D - Dancing (do they like to dance with you?)
Oh yes! Sirius is an amazing dancer of all types. He will always drag you to the dance floor with him. If you like dancing, then prepare yourself for the best time of your life. If you don't, he'll still try to dance with you. Maybe by putting on some music in the dorm when it is empty and dancing in the dark.
E - Eating (meals together)
Sirius will make sure you always have 3 meals a day. During your Hogwarts days, he'll always check on you on all three meals. Both because he loves to stare at you, and to make sure you are eating properly. If you two live together, he will still do so. Do not expect him to cook. This boy barely even had to pour water himself. If you can't cook, however, he'll probably learn. Maybe you could have cooking lessons together.
F - Favourite (their favourite part on you)
Although everyone would expect him to be obsessed over your body (and don't get me wrong, he did love every aspect of it), his favourite part on you is actually your eyes. He just loves to stare inside of them and seeing your love for him reflect inside. They always give him a warm feel which must be what home is supposed to feel like.
G - Gifts (what it says)
It's no secret that this boy is rich. He would love to spend loads of money on you. He'd buy you the most expensive things. Everything you ever need is yours. You look at something in the store? He instantly buys it. If you feel uncomfortable with all this, he will try to restrain himself. You should still expect great gifts on birthdays, holidays and anniversaries whatsoever.
H - Hair (how you treat each other's hair)
Sirius is very fond of his hair. He takes extra care of them. He adores when you run your fingers through them or brush them for you. At times he may even allow you to braid them. At first he was a bit annoyed by it but seeing how it helped you relax it helped him relax as well. He may or may not go to classes looking like that-
I - Ironing (who does the chores?)
I know I've said this a lot, but Sirius was brought up in a rich household. Which means he never got to do chores. However, unlike common belief, he is above all a gentleman and would never let you do all the chores by yourself. He'd make sure you shared an equal amount of chores.
J - Jokes (would you pull jokes on each other)
You bet! Jokes are part of your daily life so you better get used to it. He would also adore to prank you. Your reactions are always so adorable to him. He can't help but life while you are scolding him for ruining your hair. But his laugh is so attractive that you sigh and start laughing along.
K - Kissing (how are their kisses?)
Deep, rough and passionate. He wants to show you how strong his feelings are through the kiss. He is also very demanding and wants to show off dominance. French kisses are his favourite. However, when times require it his kisses can be softer.
L - Lies (would you lie to each other?)
No. Sirius is a very honest person. He would feel most betrayed if you ever lied to him even about the slightest thing. He would also always tell you the truth. "Did you just eat the last piece of cake!?" ".....yes?"
M - Money (how do you handle money?)
Seeing as it is not an issue, he just spends it in all the ways possible. Perhaps he wanted to get rid of it for the shake of his parents. However, you (as the brains of the relationship) would make sure there are always some money aside in times of need.
N - No (things they are not okay with)
Sharing. Not with you, of course. He'd always share everything with you. His house, his clothes, his friends, his heart, they are all yours. However, you only belong to him. This is not an open relationship and if anyone stands too close to you well... They are on for a lifetime of hexing.
O - Outdoors (do you spend more time outdoors or indoors?)
Sirius is a very outgoing person. However, if you are introverted he would stay inside. He is into anything as long as you are there. Still, you should forget about quiet reading nights. Even if you stay in, time with Sirius is very active and loud.
P - Partying (do they like partying with you?)
He is the party animal. More specifically the party dog. This means you will get dragged along into parties a lot. If you like partying, then awesome! If you don't, he'll try to change your mind at first. If he can't, then he'll go without you only to grow tired of it eventually and stay inside with you.
Q - Question (marriage and how they feel about it)
He dreams of it actually. Only the thought of you being a Black, is enough to make him bear a huge grin on his face. Nevertheless, that is the case only after he met you. Beforehand, he wasn't so supportive about it. He was actually certain he would die single.
R - Right (do you argue a lot? Who usually wins?)
This depends on your personality of course. But you should know, this boy is very stubborn. With the correct arguements, you are the one who wins. But he is too stubborn to ever actually admit defeat.
S - Sick (taking care of each other when sick)
He barely ever gets sick, which means he is usually the one taking care of you. He doesn't care if he gets infected. Really, he just wants to take care of you and make sure you get better soon. He'll stay with you while you're sleeping and always race to bring you everything you need. Painkillers? The best in the market. Pillows? The softest. Soup? The tastiest. Hotel? Trivago.
T - Tears (do they cry a lot? Do they do it in front of you?)
Due to his background, he actually cries a lot. Especially when he finds out news about his family. But he would never do it in front of you. He isn't afraid of being seen as weak or anything like that, but he just doesn't want to make you sad.
U - Until death tears us apart (does your relationship last long? Do you ever get apart)
He wanted to stay with you forever. Unfortunately, we all know he has to spend 13 years in Azkaban prison. If you still love him, he would be very happy to get back with you when he comes out. If not, he would be heartbroken but understanding.
V - Victim (what do they do if someone blames you for something you didn't do?)
Oh boi. He would never let that go. He hates when things like this happened. When someone who is innocent gets punished (rings a bell?). He would do his best to get proof regarding your innocent and whoever blamed you... Let's just say they woke up in the infirmary the next day.
W - Working out (what it says)
Sirius likes to work out a lot. That's why his body is the way it is. He'd be delighted if you wanted to join me. He had always wished to do all these couple training.
X - Xoxo (how do they text?)
If phones existed in his era, he'd text you 24/7. Really all the time he wasn't with you, he'd text you. He would send a lot of memes that's for sure. He would also send you a lot of selfies and use emojis all the times. 💕
Y - Yours (Are they possesive? Do they get jealous a lot?
A lot! They would be jealous the second a guy is more than friendly. Don't get him wrong, he trusts you. It is the others he doesn't trust. He'd always rush to your side and wrap his arm around you, claiming you as his own.
Z - Zzzz... (How you sleep together)
He loves cuddling, especially if it is after making love. He'd like to hold you in his arms until morning. He hates to depart from you when you wake up so he'd pull you back down for some more cuddling and maybe even more if you are in the mood.

Note
hello! i've recently stumbled across your works and i really love your characterization and writing uwu if it's not too much, is it okay for me to request for a scenario where some actors accidentally found out that their director is actually good dancer? like maybe somebody was watching tv and 'hey doesn't that backup dancer look familiar?' ((you can decide on whoever finds out about it and you can also choose to use izumi's name or just write mc)) AAAA thank you very much! ଘ(੭*ˊᵕˋ)੭* ੈ♡
Thank you, dear! 💕 I feel so happy when I read I you guys like it. Sometimes it gets difficult to not fall into OOC!
I opted to choose Izumi, mainly because I don’t think I’ve written anything with her even though I love her so much! As for the actors, well, couldn’t decided wich one so everyone is making an appearance.
 Hope you like it!  💕
The dorm discovering Izumi’s dancing skills
“Tenma, hurryyyyy”
“Yeah, yeah... Uh? Hey, who didn’t wash their dishes this morning, it stinks!” the summer leader complained outloud, leaving the kitchen with Misumi with the last chopsticks and glasses to place on the lounge.
Tsuzuru entered and looked at the sink, frowning. Indeed, it smelled awful. He walked towards the couches to get the culprit.
“Itaru-san, don’t ask me why, but I know whatever that was in that plate was yours. Please clean it right now”
“Oh shit, my shield fell”
The man in question was laying next to Kazunari and Banri, all of them most likely playing a battle game, judging by the way they were staring intensely at their phones.
 “Itaru-san!”
“Yes, yes, one minute…”
“Dang, Itaroon! You can’t pull something like that to win, I don’t have any more resources!”
Omi put a hand on Tsuzuru’s shoulder when he saw the scriptwriter was about to start scolding them “It’s okay Tsuzuru, we have enough plates. Itaru-san can clean later so dinner doesn’t get cold”
At that moment Juza, Taichi, Muku and Sakuya arrived.
“Ah, Omi-san! After Tenma-kun and Misumi-san finish the table will be set” the cheerily the spring leader informed approaching them.
“At least we get things done quickly, having so many people at Mankai” Tsuzuru smiled tired but gratefully at the four of them “…although it would be quicker if others offered to help from time to time” he looked at the gaming group and a certain pair watching TV.
“Tsuzuru, this program is too important to sip!”
“You mean to skip? Also, I truly don’t think so. That’s one old program you’re watching” he looked around resting his hands on his hips. No one had moved an inch “That indirect was also to the rest of you, you know”
“Noted”
“Aha”
“So you want me to set the table instead of trying to come up for ideas with customes? Fine by me”
Misumi and Tenma entered before an argument could take place “Table’s set. Someone should call Masumi, Sakyo-san and the winter troupe. They were in the practice room with director, right?”
As if by pure summoning, the last spring member arrived, taking off his headphones “…I’m here”
“We are here too!” Tsumugi waved as the rest of the winter troupe entered talking to each other. Their play schedule had been decided and they had had a run through while Izumi and Sakyo discussed the final details for the performance.
“Okay then everyone, time to dig in!”
                                         …………………………..
Everyone sat on their chairs and started moving plates around and refilling glasses with drinks. It wasn’t often, due to the difference in schedules, but some nights the whole dorm got together and opted to eat at the same time. It was a bit of a mess but in the end, everyone had fun.
Citron was still watching silently the TV when he paused it, concerned. Getting up, he headed to the dinner table as everyone ate and talked “Director?”
Izumi looked up, stopping  herself from grabbing the delicious tonkatsu in front of her “You called, Citron? Ah, leave the TV and sit, come on. Omi’s food will get cold!” she motioned the chair that was empty.
He did as told, but kept his eyes locked on her “Director I must ask you an important question”
“Uh… ok?”
He nodded as his chopsticks grabbed some rice “Are you maybe a twist?”
Everyone turned to him, confused, but not surprised. The young woman found herself blinking in confusion too “…Twist?”
Masumi nodded in agreement “You can twist my heart anytime you want”
No one even tried to contradict the young boy, still trying to decipher Citron’s meaning.
“I don’t think Citron means twist”
“…Twix”
“Yeah Hyodo sure, Citron meant Twix. I swear your brain is a fucking sugar cube”
“You are sweet like a twix to me, director”
“Ugh, someone tell the Psycho Stalker off”
“Y-yuki-kun!”
“Citron, I don’t think your phrasing is right” Tsumugi laughed as he saw everyone starting to debate.
The foreigner crossed his arms, deep his thought “Mmm… this word is meant to be a clone… of another person! Is it close enough, Tsumugi?”
“C-clone?!” Taichi looked up from his seat, eyes wide open “Director has a clone?!”
“Guys, come on...”
“Mhm… I might be wrong, but maybe Citron meant if our dear director has a twin?”
Citron gasped “Twin, yes! Azuma’s wisdom is as always precise!”
The winter member received the compliment from the blond with a soft laugh as the rest frowned. Sakuya raised his hand from the other side of the table “U-Um! Why do you say that, Citron-san?”
“You have sisters?” Tasuku raised his eyebrows at Izumi.
“Of course not! I’m an only child”
“But that cannot be. I saw you with my two very eyes!”
“Me?”
He nodded seriously, getting up from the chair and turning on the TV again “I will demonstrate now, the director’s clone!”
Izumi sighed. Why couldn’t they have a normal night? Just for once. It was weekday for christ’s sake. The sudden gasps and exclamations brought her back to reality.
“It really looks like Izumi-san!”
“She looks younger though, is it really her?”
“Waaah, director you are moving so beautifully!”
“Wait, seriously?”
Izumi got up and approached the TV screen, concerned for the amount of attention it was getting “Come on, how can I-“
“That is you, isn’t it?” Sakyo pointed the TV with his head.
As everyone came to the realization that it was indeed Izumi. the woman in question stood there, watching her younger self.
“Oh, you meant that!” she sat on the arm of the couch, forgetting dinner and the fact that everybody was still trying to make sense of it. Their director? In TV? “It’s not been that long but... ” she laughed “Might be the one and only time I made it for a play in a performance, come to think of it!”
Kazunari, who was at that point recording the whole situation, turned his phone towards her in awe “I am beyond SHOCK, director! What play? How come we didn’t know you danced so well? Any declarations?”
She pushed the phone away from her, laughing “I did my studies and entered in the dancing club from my university for a change of peace”
“But this amazing choreography? The moves? Not to mention you are totes on TV!”
She looked  back at the TV and a smiled appeared. Competing in friendly dancing competitions had been nice at the time “That program shows musicals, right? My university dancing club just happened to want to enter the competition and we decided to do a mute dancing play trying to tell a story without speaking. Forgot it had been recorded then”
Everyone stopped talking and looked at each other.
“…Oh”
“That’s right”
“Director had another life before Mankai…”
“Feels weird to think about it”
Izumi blinked confused. Of course, she had tried to make a life outside of acting! It had been rough, but she had had to come to terms with herself that she had to move on, at the time.
“Ey, ey, director let’s dance too!” Misumi grabbed her by the arm and pulled her to the courtyard. She found herself stumbling to keep up.
“W-whoah, Misumi-kun, we haven’t finished eating!”
He laughed releasing her as he tried to copy what they all had watched “That looked fun! What other dances did you do?”
Izumi laughed at his excitment.
“Well, there was nothing specific…?” she listed a few songs on the top of her head. The rest of the dorm gathered around the frames of the courtyard, watching curiously.
“I also want to see director’s dancing!”
“Anyone has a phone?”
“On it~”
“Enough! Why are you…” Sakyo came out too, ready to start scolding when one of the songs mentioned before started playing and saw Izumi’s bright face.
It was as if some kind of adrenaline had been injected into her, enough to make her body start moving along the music, not a single movement being wasted.
It had been a while.
                                       ………………………………
“Oh my, such a stunning view… the turning of grand jetes! If this moment was to be engraved…”
Hisoka frowned next to him “Arisu… you’re too loud. Can’t enjoy it”
“Director… is really good!” Sakuya was practically beaming as he watched Izumi moving around “She looks like a fairy!”
No one there disagreed. Her movements flowed, taking away the breath of every person in that familiar audience. Izumi had never been able to act well, but somehow her dancing expressed more than she could in a play.
Omi smiled at the view and crossed his arms “A pity I left the camera in my room” he looked at his left and saw how Sakyo looked at her.
The blond’s eyes followed her figure entranced, not moving an inch.
A few minutes later, Izumi stopped, breathing heavily after song. She looked up, greeted by a big amount of applause. Were those claps for her? Her cheeks grew hot. She didn’t remember last time she got an applause and smiled bashfully.
“Fufu that was wonderful, Izumi-san”
“Epic. I think I just fell in love all over again, director! Gonna need to post the clip on my instablam!”
“Not bad. I guess currian has another thing she’s good at, uh”
“Well, if we ever have a dancing play, now we know who to ask for notes, isn’t that right, Tsuzuru?”
Taichi gasped in excitement looking at the scriptwriter “Oh man, I definitely want to do a dancing play now, girls would love it!”
Of course, as theatre fanatics as they were, the conversation headed into their future performances.
“Maybe like a musical?”
“But dancing as you act is…”
“I want to do a triangle dance in our play!”
Izumi laughed, gaining everyone’s attention “Okay, okay, this is enough. Let’s go back and finish dinner. Can’t believe you all tricked me to dance in front of you, geez” she still felt her breath uneven from the workout.
“But you did look beautiful out there, director” Tsumugi smiled as he pushed a complaining Taichi and entranced Masumi inside.
Tasuku sighed as he watched everyone returning to their normal behaviors “Well, I guess we must thank you are more an acting addict than a dancer” he sent a small smile to Izumi, placing a hand on her shoulder and going inside to help the adults tame the youngest.
Izumi was about to follow when she heard Sakyo’s voice from behind “You danced well”
“Ah, Sakyo-san, thanks”
He dropped his eyes momentarily before looking at everyone going back to finish dinner inside “…Think you will miss it? Dancing like that”
Izumi lifted her head up and closed her eyes, enjoying the night’s breeze. She had set it aside for so long she hadn’t really been able to think about it.
Dancing to her was like turning back the clock, returning to a previous life that might have been good. However, she had always felt something was missing.
She smiled tenderly. Just thinking about everyone at the dorm made her heart go warm.
“It’s become a good memory to keep”
She tore her gaze away from the night sky to smile at him, assuring him that she was being honest to those words just said.
True. She had loved dancing, but theatre? Ah.
That was her life.

Chapter 9: Under Pressure
Ring! Ring! Ring! The phone started trilling, waking Tenzin from a sound sleep. He looked to the window and saw the first morning rays starting to peak in through the curtain. He saw his beautiful wife starting to stir in the bed next to him.
“I’ll get it, stay resting,” he whispered to her as he slid out of bed and crept to the kitchenette area of their apartment. He grabbed the phone and without thinking whispered, “I’m sorry, but it is too early in the morning to be speaking on the phone. I’m still trying to sleep. Try calling back later today.” And he hung the phone up without waiting for a reply.
“Who was that?” Lin mumbled sleepily.
“No clue,” he replied while sliding back into bed, “I told them it was too early for phone calls and that they were very rude for calling so early and interrupting my amazing wife’s beauty rest.”
Lin laughed and snuggled close to the now prone Tenzin, “I’m sure you did, tough guy.”
Tenzin pulled Lin close to him and kissed her forehead, “Well I’m not wrong. Now let’s stay in bed a while longer. I can’t leave you two yet.”
Lin nuzzled closer, “I hope you never leave.” They both smiled and continued to rest until the sun was fully up.
“Well I’m off to visit Mom for lunch!” Lin called to Tenzin as he was in the bathroom finishing getting ready.
“Enjoy, love!” he replied.
Lin headed the few blocks to the RCPD headquarters where she agreed to meet her mother so they could get a bite to eat and catch up. The apartment wasn’t far from the police headquarters, but the cold breeze wafting through the city air made Lin regret the outdoor exercise. Winter may just be starting, but it was not shy at making its presence known. She tugged her coat tighter around her and dipped her mouth lower in her jacket to help cover more of her face from the cold sting.
As Lin rounded the final corner that would bring her to RCPD HQ, a newspaper stall caught her eye. She spotted a photo from her and Tenzin’s wedding on the front page of one of the papers sitting in a pile on the cart. Lin stepped closer and focused on that paper. Bold letters on the latest copy of The United Republic read: NEW AIRBENDER ON THE WAY with a subheading that said: Newlyweds Tenzin, Master Airbender, and Lin Beifong, RCPD detective are expecting their first born, the next member of the extinct Air Nomad race.
Lin snatched a copy of the paper and growled. The young man working the booth chided her and said she needed to pay for that now it was ruined. She tossed some Yuan on the counter and stomped away, seething. She couldn’t believe what she was reading. As far as she knew, only her closest friends and family members knew about the pregnancy, after all she was barely showing yet, despite the end of the first trimester approaching. Lin also could not believe the journalist’s choice of headline.
“New Airbender on the Way…” she murmured to herself, “I can’t believe they would be so bold to put that. I don’t even know if the baby is a boy or girl yet, and they’re already pegging the future of Aang’s race on him or her.” Tears started forming in her eyes again as all the pressure she’s felt on and off throughout the pregnancy started to resurface in her mind.
Lost in her thoughts, Lin didn’t realize that someone had approached her until she heard, “Now, now, little badgermole, I know you’ve been away on your honeymoon for some time now, but there’s no need for tears to show how much you’ve missed me.”
Lin turned to see her mother had left the building and found her standing dumbstruck on the sidewalk. “Mom,” she managed while gesturing to the newspaper in her hands, “Have you seen this?”
Toph took a step closer to her daughter and said, “Jeez, have you been hanging around Sokka more? You know I have no clue what you’re talking about.”
Lin sniffled, a small smile playing on her lips, “I know, I was just trying to joke to make myself feel a little better. It’s a newspaper and its headline is just, absolutely ridiculous!”
“They usually are, that’s why I never bother to peruse the periodicals,” Toph stated dryly.
Lin rolled her eyes, “Very funny, Mother. This one is about me, or rather my baby.” She absentmindedly brought one of her hands to rest on her slightly protruding abdomen. She continued, “They’re already claiming the baby will be an air bender and that Aang’s legacy and by extension the legacy of the Air Nomads rests entirely on me producing an airbender.” The tears started to reach her cheeks again.
Toph reached out and squeezed her daughter’s shoulder and tried to comfort her, “Well now that is completely unfair. The only one who should be planning this baby’s future is her award-winning, master bender of a grandmother, Toph Beifong.”
Lin chuckled a bit and said, “Mom, please. This is a really sore subject for me.”
“Okay, okay,” Toph conceded, “Let’s go get some meat and noodles and talk about this.”
“So, what does Tenzin have to say about all this?” Toph asked her daughter. They were now seated in one of their favorite restaurants, enjoying a delicious lunch of grilled meat and spicy noodles, their two favorite foods.
“I don’t know if he’s seen the headlines at all yet…” Lin began.
“Not about the newspaper, I mean about the baby. Has he said anything to make you think he would resent you or even the baby if she isn’t an airbender? Because if he has you know I’ll come over and---”
“Mother, please,” Lin interrupted, “No, on the contrary, Tenzin has shown that he will do nothing but love and cherish both me and the baby no matter what.”
“Bleck,” Toph stuck her tongue out, “Hearing about my daughter and her supportive husband is giving me the oogies.”
“Very funny, Mom. But I’m being serious here. Tenzin and I have already talked about this. We both just want a healthy baby. It’s gender nor it’s bending abilities will affect how much love we will show this baby,” Lin assured her mom, and herself with these words.
“Well then, you know how I feel about other people’s opinions. They can shove it up their--” Toph started to say, but was interrupted by the presence she now felt at the table. She turned her face to the newcomer and said, “Perfect timing, waiter. We would like the check, please.”
“I’m s-sorry, b-but I’m not your w-waiter,” a young man who looked visibly nervous replied to Toph. Lin’s eyes narrowed and stared at him. She couldn’t quite place the face, but she was almost positive she’s seen him somewhere before.
“Unless you’re here to report a crime or ask for an autograph, then I think you best be moving on, kid,” Toph told the young man firmly.
He took a deep breath before he began, “My n-name is Jeong and I’m a reporter for--”
“That’s enough. Like I said before, unless you want to report a crime, you need to leave my daughter and me alone while we’re trying to eat lunch,” Toph interrupted him.
“I’m so sorry,” Jeong cried out while bowing to the women, “It’s just, I’m trying to become a more well known reporter and getting the inside scoop on Ms. Beifong’s pregnancy would really help me.”
Lin stood up, “Sorry, Jeong, but if there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I don’t want my life broadcast to anybody and everybody. My pregnancy is my business and no one else’s.”
Jeong persisted, “Yes, but you’re carrying the next Airbending Master! This is huge news and the public would be so pleased.”
Toph slammed Yuans on the table to pay for their lunch and said, “I’ve heard enough. Let’s go Lin!”
Lin stared daggers into Jeong and left him with one final statement, “Why don’t you take this story back to wherever it is you work: My child is going to be whoever he or she wants to be. Only the spirits know what gifts the baby will bring to this world and all you cheap gossips need to stop trying to label him or her too early.” She stalked after her mother and joined her in the car they drove to the restaurant.
“I can’t believe that vile weasel-snake!” Lin exclaimed and punctuated it with slamming the car door.
“Easy on the car door, badgermole. This is technically city property,” Toph chided.
Lin rolled her eyes and continued her lamentation, “He must have some really confident guardian spirit to approach us like that while we’re trying to enjoy a nice lunch.”
“I’m sorry, Lin.” Toph apologized.
“Oh, please, it’s not your fault he sauntered up to us and felt the need to try to pry into my personal business,” Lin replied.
“Well, isn’t it?” Toph probed, “I mean, you are the daughter of one of the greatest living Earthbenders, who helped save the world when she was just a kid.”
“Mother, please. This isn’t time for your ego to join the conversation.”
“I’m not trying to be my confident self, I’m being serious. If you had any other mother on the planet, then things would be so different for you--” Lin glanced over at her mom. She noticed her head was drooped more than normal. Lin reached over and grabbed her mother’s hand to give it a gentle squeeze.
“Mom, even if you weren’t famous, I’d still be married to one of only two living Airbenders. I’d be all over the media, regardless,” Lin said in comfort.
Toph turned her head slightly towards Lin, “You think even if I weren’t friends with the Avatar you and Tenzin would still be married?”
Lin took a deep breath as she blinked back tears not of stress and worry, but of a deeper, stronger emotion she felt. She replied, “I’m positive that no matter what lifetime we shared or what planet we lived on, his soul and mine would always find each other and never let the other go.”
“And now, here’s Zahra with the latest news from the lives of the socialites of Republic City,” the voice on the radio crackled. Lin was lying on the sofa half reading a book while Tenzin stood at the kitchenette in their tiny apartment, making them a delicious dinner.
“Want me to turn it off?” Tenzin inquired.
“No, you’re busy. I can get up to change it,” Lin replied as she started to make her way to the radio.
“Thanks, Li,” the now feminine voice on the radio replied, “In today’s news, we’d like to highlight Republic City’s cutest and most romantic couple, Tenzin, Master Airbender, son of the Avatar and Lin Beifong, daughter of Police Chief and Master of Earthbending, Toph Beifong.” Lin’s hand hesitated as she reached for the dial to change the station. She hated being in the spotlight, but she had some morbid curiosity that made her wait to listen to what they had to report.
“As many of you may know by now, Ms. Beifong and Master Tenzin wasted no time while on their honeymoon and have already announced they’re expecting their very first child after just two months of wedded bliss! One of our reporters, Jeong, was fortunate enough to run into Ms. Beifong and her mother while they were out to lunch, presumably after a lovely day out shopping, preparing for the new bundle of joy headed their way. Jeong was able to get a statement from Ms. Beifong and he’s here now to share what she said. Over to you, Jeong!”
Tenzin had finished cooking and plating their food and now had his full attention on the radio as well. Lin hadn’t mentioned running into any reporters today. His brows furrowed and he waited with baited breath to hear what this Jeong person had to say. “Thanks, Zahra! That’s right, I ran into two thirds of the Beifong family today. They were both enjoying a lunch of assorted meats and spicy noodles, which after speaking with an expert on rearing and raising healthy children, I now know is not the healthiest thing for a pregnant woman to feed her baby. The meat is rather fatty and greasy and the spiciness of the noodles could give her terrible heartburn. The expert recommended she eat more fruits and vegetables going forward to ensure the baby gets all the help he needs!”
Lin rolled her eyes, “Is that really all he has to say? He needs to give me so-called advice on what to eat?”
Tenzin shrugged, “Let’s just ignore him for now. Change the channel and let’s sit and eat.”
Jeong continued on the radio, “I would also like to add that Ms. Beifong seemed to care little about the baby’s Air Nomad heritage. She stated that she would not go out of her way to ensure the child is raised in the ways of the Air Nomads and instructed to become a Master Airbender like his father and grandfather.”
“But that can’t be!” Zahra interrupted.
“Afraid so,” Jeong continued, “Now, I’m no expert on Air Nomad culture, but last time I checked, there were only two airbenders alive today and I think--” zzt. The radio went silent.
Lin spun to look at Tenzin who had silently crossed the room and ended the slander and lies being broadcasted to a couple thousand people in and around the city.
“What did you do that for!” Lin exclaimed.
“I don’t believe what that man had to say was true. At least, I hope it’s not,” Tenzin said, staring at his wife’s face, searching for any hint of how she was feeling.
“Of course it’s not true! I didn’t say anything about ignoring any part of the baby’s heritage!” she countered.
“I figured as much,” Tenzin said as he stepped closer to his wife, reaching out to give her a hug.
“I just told him to mind his P’s & Q’s and to stop making assumptions about our baby!” Lin shouted at him as she began trembling. Tenzin’s arms enveloped Lin’s frame. He held her close for a few moments as she let the anger and stress flow through her body, the tremors a reflection of the power the emotions had over her.
“I believe you, Lin,” Tenzin said slightly pulling away from his wife so he could look down at her, “I love you and I know you love our baby. I’m sure that man is just trying to spice up his story to get more listeners.”
Lin sniffled, “I just can’t believe him! Him and all the other media eel-hounds. Making up all this information about our baby.”
Tenzin started gently rubbing Lin’s back as he continued to comfort her, “I’m not sorry that you’re carrying my child, but I am sorry that this has placed you center stage for everyone to make comments about you and try to give you unwarranted advice.”
Lin nodded, “I know. I’m not sorry we’re bringing new life into this world either. I just wish circumstances were a bit different.”
“Well, why don’t we sit and eat dinner and then plan the next leg of our honeymoon world tour?” Tenzin offered, leading Lin towards the small table that had the food he prepared laid out.
“Let’s get as far from Republic City’s gossipers as possible. Why don’t we go visit Kya at the South Pole?” Lin agreed.
“As you wish, my dear,” Tenzin said before they tucked into their dinner.

Contest with my boyfriend
I've been dating my boyfriend for over a year now,and as it turns out, we met because I was doodling at work.(A story for another time)
He's actually an artist as well, luckily enough for me.
From day one, he's always criticized my work and has tried giving me tips on how to get better.
Don't worry, he's not a big ol' meanie set out to bring me down.I'm making it sound worse than it is, but all criticism he gives me are all strictly constructive!
He actually WOULDN'T criticize my art for the longest time besides a small comment here and there, but it was obvious to me that he wanted to say more. I was the one who actually got him to start giving me constructive criticism and now I can see I have so much more to improve on.
Anyway!
Last week, he and I decided to play a little game.We looked up art on pinterest and started doing a cute little competition on who could draw the piece 'better'
We ended up getting into an argument or as he would say a 'disagreement' on who was the winner of our competition.
Tumblr media
No! This didn't lead to us breaking up or anything.
It's just that neither of us would admit that we lost. We had three rounds on our first little battle, and I only admitted to losing one! Because after looking at it critically, it was actually really bad. So I had to forfeit any chances I had of winning for that one round.
Tumblr media
But all my other rounds, we definitely battled it out. I argued that I was trying harder to match the art style of whoever we were copying, and he was arguing that his had a better compositional view point or whatever he was trying to argue, I don't remember. I just remember him not letting me take my wins! Although, if you look at it from his perspective, I was doing the same thing to him. He had to go home eventually so we picked it back up the next day. This time we were more prepared.I was making us lunch and I told him to write down the rules of our competition. I decided to let him come up with the rules, mostly because coming up with rules isn't my strong point honestly and he knew what he wanted to look for in the winner. As he wrote the rules he decided that if we matched the art style then it's an extra point. Which was in my favor since that's what I was doing all of the previous day! He also had one rule in his favor, I'll actually just list the four rules we had.
Rules in my favor:
 -Gender clearly visible
- Extra point for matching art style of original artist
Rules in his favor:
-First to finish
-Clean lines.
We were drawing in traditional media, and he knew that I like the sketchiness in my doodles, if you look in my gallery, you'll notice I like keeping those sketchy lines and guides. So that's why he added 'clean lines' It was an even playing field. He had two rules in his favor and two rules in mine.
Honestly, the reason he added the gender rule is because we were drawing a man with long hair the previous day. He WOULD NOT admit that MY drawing was manlier than HIS! This was the last drawing we did and we argued about that for about ten minutes. Until I took our drawings and asked my family what gender our characters were.Of course I was right, his looked much more feminine than mine. They said mine could be both, but he had long hair so that's what threw them off.
When I told him that it was unanimous, he tried to argue it was because I made my chin too big so of course mine looked slightly manlier.I argued that that was the POINT! Since his chin was so much smaller, and not as exaggerated, it made his drawing look so much more feminine. After that argument, that's why he added that rule and that's why it was in my favor. Because I'm not afraid to add exaggerated features like that in my drawings.
Anyway! The battle was on! We went through three battles once again!
Round one: We drew a demon girl
He was faster than I was, we both had clean lines, and it was obvious that they were both girls, but mine matched the style. After we looked at our drawings a little more critically, he decided that the fact that mine was so much closer to the style, I won!
Tumblr media
Round 2:
Catpuccino!
It was a cat in a coffee cup.
He was faster than me again, neither of us matched the art style, we both had clean leans and there was no gender for the cat.So that time he won.Plus his cup looked better than mine, so I had to give it to him.
Tumblr media
Last round!
Now, honestly this last round was a bit unfair. We were drawing on my bed and his back started to get sore.I told him he could move but after a while he gave up. But when he watched me continue to draw, he decided he didn't want it to end like that. He honestly hated his drawing to begin with so he erased the whole thing and started over.
We had an unwritten rule that said: Once we say we're done then that's it, pencil down. I hadn't said I was finished yet so I kept going, but I let him rejoin since he was starting from scratch. We revealed our drawings and of course I won that one, but like I said. It was sort of unfair. I got a LOT more time and he was rushing his drawing.
Tumblr media
He didn't want to do anymore since his back was hurting and he didn't want to move. So our competition had ended. Now that I've reached the end of my story, I can finally make the point that I wanted to make.
You've got the back story of how I ended up with this thought process so you'll understand. But I was looking at my latest piece, a spider girl drawing, and after going through that little fun competition with my boyfriend I realized....My drawings are still heavily flawed. There was so much I liked about these other artists that I was copying. I loved the lips, the hair, the horns. And oddly enough the proportions! I have learned so much after just going through two rounds of this little fun game we did, and I think I can refine my style just from these six drawings.I hope we can play again soon, because it's actually eye opening to draw from these artists that we admire and take just bits and pieces of what I can see and what I'm applying to that copy, and try to reflect that style in my own. That's all, that's what I wanted to say.
LOL
I hope you enjoyed my story, and I hope that I can show more improvement either in the near future, or in the future at least.
Have a great day/night

Ice, shadows and bright spots
I’m a simple being with a child-like curiosity to just about everything, and like the proper nerd I am, I am absolutely fascinated by chemistry. Liquid nitrogen is one of the many things I’ve always wanted to get my hands on, but it’s probably for the best that I’ve never succeeded in acquiring it. Even if you could theoretically use it for cool smoke effects or making ice-cream, I have seen Terminator 2, and let’s just say, I’d most likely manage to turn myself into a slushie.
Today’s GMM doesn’t serve us slushies, nor do they cause biohazards by freezing mercury robots, but liquid nitrogen is very much involved, as the show returns to the series of destroying things in reverse, with a Frozen themed episode. Let’s get smashing!
Tumblr media
Whoever guesses what is being destroyed the fastest, scores as many points as there are seconds left (out of total 10 seconds) in the timer, and for special Frozen related items, you get an extra point. The winner gets to punch the other on the shoulder in a friedly manor, in reverse and slow motion. The previous takes on this game have led to a near fight and a rather hilarious act of rebellion from Rhett, so it’ll be interesting to see how things go this time (we’re all looking at you, Link).
Tumblr media
Prop-master “Mad Dog” Lucas, and art-director “Mad Dog” Pasley are in charge of destroying stuff today - but after yesterday, I’m not sure if it’s too soon to welcome them with a bark? (Link sounds like a bigger dog when he barks...I’m thinking a boxer, or a rotweiller...) The first round is over in a split second, when Link manages to guess the smashed item faster than you can say meatball. Meatballs appear to turn into deadly cannon balls when frozen, and Lucas manages to look like a mob contract killer while smashing the spaghetti.
I feel pretty proud of myself after being able to recognize a shattered carrot before Rhett and Link did, but I assume it’s much easier to do while not in competitive mode. I wonder how many carrots they had to smash before this perfect shot? Rhett takes the points for this round, and gets an extra point for a Frozen item (I hope the snowman has extra carrots on hand).
Tumblr media
Lucas clearly isn’t the only one today with a killer focus: Rhett guesses the next item before the clip even has time to start. The only copy of the BTS for Rhett’s ambient massage song music video. What a shame that is no more (I know they’re kidding, but they should really make a music video and an extended version for that.)
Tumblr media
Apparently, if you smash a frozen rubber ducky with a shovel, the shards look a lot like potato chips. Link is so happy for beating Rhett in this round, even though he only gets two points. But now that he is back in the game, Rhett must feel a little threatened, and finds it necessary to agree upon the rules for the slow-mo punch beforehand to avoid an argument. A wise decision, I’d say, although the arguments have been entertaining to watch. But I bet Rhett wasn’t the only one saying awww, at what Link said:
“We don’t have to like each other all the time, because we love each other.”
That IS sweet. Why do I feel this episode was filmed after yesterday’s video?
Tumblr media
Where can you get your hands on a treasure chest that looks just like something from a video game? I was half convinced the gemstones were animated, but that can’t be. I love how beautifully these clips are filmed, and I kinda want a chest of colourful gems for myself now - not to smash, but to stare at. I personally think that Pasley has every right to look pleased with himself for creating such a pretty video, but I love how Rhett and Link critique each smash. Next time, they should have score cards like in a skating competition.
Who knew rubber bands would look this awesome when hacked with an axe (while frozen)? I know this wasn’t a Frozen item, but Rhett should get bonus points for delivering his answer with such musical talent. Not that he needs any bonus points - Link basically has zero chance of winning at this point. But can you see the wood?
Tumblr media
I saw pieces of continents flying in the next clip, and I thought this was so easy to guess, but somehow, Link answered wrong. A  Star Wars droid? I know the Mythical crew has zero respect for cool items, but even they wouldn’t kill a droid, surely. And there were all those continents!
I don’t have to go through all the remaining rounds to say that everyone was rooting for Link to win this, even Rhett, who complimented Link’s adorably apologetic guess of a pumpkin, and even made a deal which gave Link a chance in the last round. But Rhett won, and he got to direct the slow-mo punch. And honestly, it was pretty perfect. I love these dorks.
Tumblr media
In More, Rhett and Link are guessing if anyone is on the stock photos they are shown, or not. Instead of following the game, I greatly enjoyed the conversation about Zack’s photoediting skills. I hope Link gets some bright spots to his life, and if Zack doesn’t send him the random heartwarming greeting cards he asks for, someone should. (It might be a fun fandom project, but then he’d get buried in heartwarming greeting cards, and making them appear randomly would be difficult, considering how many Mythical Beasts there are...) But Link deserves all the bright spots he wants, and some. Rhett and Link are the bright spots in my life, after all. (And if Rhett is happy with some extra shadows, I support them, too. What is light without shadows, anyways? There needs to be a little bit of both.)
I have to say, Rhett’s description of the McLaughlin family way of accepting gifts reminds me of my mom. I love her, but she is also my worst critic, and somehow, with pretty much every piece of art I make and show her, she finds something to say, like “there’s something funny about the way this hand is”, or “so this IS a deer? I wasn’t sure.” She is pretty hard to please sometimes - but at least she hasn’t thrown away anything I’ve given her - not even the stuff I asked her to get rid of. But you know, moms and daughters.
I’m happy that Link got to give Rhett his own love lick at the end, even if Rhett didn’t really pay much attention to Link while explaining Zack that he should add path removal and adding shadows to his resumé as special skills. And because I have no sense of shame at this point in my life, I just had to go and see what I could do to add some shadows and bright spots to this final screenshot of mine. I’m not going to add this to my resumé. This is all just for me  - like the little happy dance Pasley did after a successful smash in the main episode.

John erased what he’d written for what seemed like the tenth time, squinting at the screen on his laptop. He cracked his knuckles, taking another sip of wine.  The bottle was more than half gone, but he couldn’t be bothered to care.  It was the weekend, and he was spending it, like every other weekend, alone in his flat browsing the internet.
The wine settled in his bones, making him feel warm and heavy and a bit giddy.  He opened up the Word document where the Craigslist Personal’s ad he’d been fumbling over for the past half hour sat half written.
“I am a single male seeking three men for a one night stand at my flat.  I have no other preferences other than that you be reasonably good looking and clean.  I will send a headshot and directions when you send one.”
Wait.  The fuck?  That sounded really off and vain.  No way should he be writing this while drunk.  Or, he thought miserably, writing this period.  But anyway.
“I am a single male seeking three men for a one night stand at my flat. I am fit and disease free; please be the same.  Details to be follow.”
Was that better, he wondered?  Worse?
“I’ve never done this before; I’m not weird or even kinky…just a normal guy wanting to have a good time for once on his birthday.”
There, he thought. That sounded nice and normal, not scary like some of the other ads (seriously, the one asking for the fart buddy was a little out there…).  He copied the ad and, before he could chicken out, pasted it into the text box.
He titled the ad “Birthday Boy Seeking Party Guests” and hit submit before he could talk himself out of it.
John checked his Myspace briefly before closing the laptop.  His cat, Gwyneth, coiled around his legs.  He reached down to stroke her ginger fur.  “Again, lovely?  You’ve already had your dinner,” he cooed fondly.  He reached for a bit of chicken from the fridge, leftovers from his own meal. “Just a snack, now.”  The cat was an absolute unit, and he couldn’t afford her getting any fatter.
He put the wine glass in the sink, nodding off slightly as the water ran.  Gwyneth waddled off to her cat bed, sniffing it delicately before she sank into the pillowy softness.  John smiled at her as he switched off the light and shuffled off to his bedroom.
As he lay down beneath the covers, he thought of his little Craigslist ad, and smiled.
--
Freddie woke up early for once, silencing his alarm on his phone and stumbling to the teapot.  He put the kettle on and grabbed a lemon strudel before settling on the couch and opening his laptop.
Craigslist was still open from the night before where he had entertained himself with reading the personal ads.  It was one of his favorite past times late at night…sitting with a bag of crisps with his legs crossed reading some of those wacky adds.  As his kettle hummed, he decided to scroll further down the page.
He landed on John’s ad, and something made him smile.  “I’m not weird or even kinky…” Freddie laughed at that.  Why yes you are darling, you’re asking for a foursome for your birthday!  Still, his smile never faltered.  He clicked on the user name and opened up his email program.
“Hi John, I’m Freddie.  I AM weird and VERY kinky, and would love to come to your birthday party ;). I have attached a headshot. Cheers.”
He hit send and closed the laptop. His kettle was boiling by now and he poured himself a cuppa. He thought about the email he’d just sent and sighed.  It wasn’t likely he was going to get a reply, and if he did, he was up for it. He hooked up regularly with no problems.  This time was likely to be any different.
--
Brian cursed to himself. He was late and the computer labs at the university were always nearly full around lunch.  He had a paper due in two hours.  Maybe he could swing it.
He found one open kiosk in the corner and settled in front of it, plugging in his flashdrive.  After an hour of typing, Brian closed the document and submitted it to his professor.  One more paper, one more assignment closer to his PhD.  He took a moment to relax and opened up his Hotmail.
After a few moments of aimless clicking and deleting, he opened one of his Craigslist notifications. Unfortunately, the amp he had wanted for his guitar was already sold.  He clicked the link anyway, the website opening in a new window.  He browsed the website a bit, eventually landing on the Personals section.
He entertained himself for a while, admittedly enjoying the sexier ads.  And then he read John’s.
Something about it struck him as honest, and Brian could respect that.  Brian considered the prospect of fucking three other guys, a little thrill running through him.  What would that even be like?
He decided, like a good doctoral researcher, that he needed more information.  He emailed John.
--
Roger was drunk (and maybe something else).  His limbs were loose, and he couldn’t feel his lips.  An easy euphoria fell over him, throbbing in his skull in time with the pulsing music and the girl riding his lap.  The friends he’d come over with were somewhere else, but there were others here.  So many people just walking around him as this girl fucked him right here on the sofa.
“Lay back baby,” She said as she rode him, steadily lifting herself off of him, the wet squelch of her tight heat lost to the music and the chaos of the open room. She was pretty in an odd way, Roger thought.  His body felt like it was on fire, and he felt the involuntary response of his orgasm winding its way to completion.
He gasped, coming inside the condom as she giggled and contracted around him.  He was panting hard, his heart racing.  Whatever he had taken was too much, he thought, too much this time.  He felt sick. He pawed at the girl as she chased her own climax, pushing her off just as she came, nibbling at his sweat-slick skin.
“Thanks for the fuck,” she said as she slid off him.  She pulled up her panties under her skirt and wobbled away.
He sagged back against the couch where no one seemed to pay attention to him, feeling used.  Tears stung his eyes, and then someone called his name.
“Hey Roger, you done fucking around?  Come play this game with us.”
He raised his head, the whole room swimming.  Gingerly, he made his way over to the small gathering.  There were shots set up in front of a laptop.  Greg, the leader of the group, pushed Roger down in a chair.
“It’s youngest against oldest, and Rog, you’re the youngest.  Whoever does the least amount of shots has to answer one of these Craigslist Personals ads.  I’ve put them all in a random name generator so it’s totally fair.”
Roger felt sick.  He knew he’d had too much to drink already, and there was no way he would win.  He stared the other man down anyway.
Greg counted them out. “On your mark, get set, go!”
Roger started downing shots until he declared he’d had enough.  He was nearly blackout drunk when they pulled the virtual lever on the random name generator.  The ad title that came up was “Birthday Boy Seeking Party Guests.”
Roger was passed out on the couch when Greg sent the email to John along with a fetching photo of Roger smiling with friends while wearing his favorite sunglasses.  Greg was sure to add, “you can’t tell, but my eyes are blue ;).”
--
John forgot about his little ad until the following evening, when he was coming home from the repair shop and remembered that he should probably check his email.  He picked up dinner, fed Gwyneth and did just that, deleting the spam and adverts and noticing, to his surprise, several emails from Craigslist users.
He omitted some right away…not on a superficial bases, but just based on how they sounded.  Bossy, arrogant, or their emails gave out a creepy vibe.  The next one he clicked on was a bloke named Freddie.
“I AM weird AND kinky…”  John laughed at that.  That was mild compared to some of the other things he’d been told.  It was rather endearing, actually.  As the pic took forever to load, he thought Freddie might be interesting to get to know.
Then the pic finally opened and John’s mouth flew open.
Black, lustrous, shoulder-length hair framing the most stunning face…tan skin stretched over sharp cheekbones and jawline and those piercing brown kohl-lined eyes.  He was easily the most exotic person John had ever laid eyes on.  He was immediately attracted to him.
John hit reply and began typing.  “I love your headshot.  This may be a little forward, but would you like to come celebrate my birthday with me?  You would be my first guest :).”
He gave him the time and place, included a headshot, and hit send, hoping for the best.
The next email was a bit longer and more thoughtful but just as intriguing.
“Hi there.  My name is Brian.  I am a college student getting my PhD.  I saw your ad on Craigslist and I must say I am intrigued.  I have never done anything like this, either.  I would be interested in helping you celebrate your birthday if you provide a safe, clean environment in which to do so.  Please provide photos of your flat.”  Thanks –Bri”
John smiled.  How considerate to think of a safe environment. Bri was definitely getting an email. He replied to Brian and included photos of his living room, kitchen, and bedroom (he left the bathroom out for reasons). Thankfully he had just tidied up. He also included a headshot.
The next email that caught his eye was from Roger.  When the pic loaded, he was stunned to find a beautiful blond man with a winning smile standing in a group of friends.
“Hi! My name is Roger.  I saw your ad on Craigslist.  You can count me in!  Just send me the time and place.  Also, you can’t tell, but my eyes are blue ;).”
John smiled at his enthusiasm.  He attached a headshot, gave him the details and hoped he would hear a little more from him.
John switched over to his Myspace and made a post for the first time in a long time.  “Happy for new adventures,” it said with a sticker. And for the first time in a long time, he was.
--
Freddie was late, and he had just enough time for tea and maybe to check his email before he was needed at Splash, the high-end fashion boutique where he worked.  He scrolled through his messages on his phone, reading a few replies, when one from Craigslist user John caught his eye.
“I love your headshot.  This may be a little forward…”
Freddie smiled at that.
The pic finally loaded, and Freddie’s mouth watered at the sweet sight.  A young man, early twenties, long brown hair, lovely green eyes, and the sweetest smile stared back at him.  There were secrets in that smile, he thought, and Freddie wanted to find them out.
So Freddie had a date with not one but three other gents.  He better get to work so he could find himself something new to wear.
--
“I want a double mocha latte, no whip, no drizzle, but soy sub on the milk,” the customer spouted off dryly, and Brian just nodded.  He’d been working as a barista at Starbucks to help pay his way through college, and while things could get a little crazy, he mostly liked it.  “No problem,” he said as he tried to smile.  “Name please?”
The teenage girl grinned. “Princess of the Universe.” Brian’s face fell.  “Alright miss I’ll try to fit that on the cup,” he muttered as he turned to make her coffee.
At his next break, he sat in the back and played Angry Birds on his phone until his email notifications pinged.  John from Craigslist had written him back.
“Hi Bri! This is John. I really enjoyed your email and appreciate you thinking to ask about a safe environment.  That is really important and is honestly something I would do. I have included the requested pictures of my flat.  Thankfully I had just tidied up (haha).
The flat was neat and clean. Very homey.  There was a fat orange cat nestled on the couch in one of the pics, and it made Brian smile.  The headshot John had sent was of John in profile, looking out a window. His green eyes were luminous in the sunlight, and his long brown hair was pulled back over his shoulder.  There was a slight smile on his face.
Brian hummed as he looked at it, eyes going over the smooth skin of the young man’s neck and where that skin stretched over the juncture of his jaw and cheek.  He was lovely.
“Brian!  You’ve got customers!”
Brian muttered a curse to himself.
“I’d very much like to attend,” Brian found himself typing. “Send me the details.”
--
His head was pounding, and the afternoon light of his bedroom hurt his eyes.  Those were Roger’s first cognizant thoughts as he gradually returned to wakefulness after coming home last night and passing out on top of his sheets.
He doesn’t remember coming home, really, or how he got home.  But he assumed Greg and his friends dumped him off here after he woke up on their couch.
It didn’t matter, not really.  He stumbled home like this a few times a week and he invariably always recovered.
Roger peeled himself off the mattress, dragging himself into the bathroom to splash some water on his face. He endured the light so he wouldn’t miss the toilet, and when he passed the mirror, he paused.
There were dark circles under his bloodshot eyes.  His face was puffy, his hair in disarray.  He looked older somehow, and he swore under his breath.  Shit had to get better than this.
He peeled off last night’s clothes and stepped into the shower, letting the hot spray wash off the filth and sketchy memories.  Stepping out of the shower, he toweled off and put on a pair of sweats.  He had a few hours before he had to be at his bartending job at a local nightclub, so he decided to forego the tea and head straight for the coffee.
He settled into the couch, letting the weariness leech from his boned into the cushions.  Sipping his coffee, he checked his email, frowning when he got a notification from Craigslist.
“What the hell,” he muttered to himself, opening the email to find the top half of a picture loading.
It was a young man with soft green eyes crinkled at the edges, a wide smile and long brown hair. Something caught in his chest, something warm and fluttery, as he looked at it.
The email was underneath.
“Hello Roger!  I’m John. I’m excited that you want to attend my birthday party.  You’re my third guest, so that makes four of us, lol ;).  I’m sending you the date and time below along with directions to my flat. I can’t wait to meet you in person. :).”
What the actual FUCK.
And suddenly it all came flooding back.  The shot game, the lost bet.  Roger’s heart sped up.  Was he going to a foursome?  Were they all dudes?  His mouth went dry.  While Roger had always been attracted to men, he had never actually slept with one.  He swallowed.  Could he actually do this?
FUCK.
--
There was no Emily Post etiquette guide for hosting a foursome, so John decided to wing it.
As he stared down into the homemade pasta sauce, he reasoned that food was a good move.  Food brought people together, and togetherness brought sex. John smiled, satisfied with his ingenious if rather simplistic reasoning.  He stirred the sauce, pausing before adding the browned ground beef. What were the odds that one of them was a vegetarian?  He shrugged and dumped it in.  Not too high.
The doorbell rang and John nearly jumped out of his skin.  It was 6:05, and his guests weren’t due until 6:30.  He frowned, turning the burner on low and moving to the peephole.
There, on the other side, was the same face he’d viewed in the email, only in living color.  The sharp cheek bones, the elegant nose, the kohl lined eyes.  John couldn’t get the door open fast enough.
“Freddie,” he almost breathed.  His heart was beating fast and he self-consciously smoothed the hair around his face.
Freddie’s eyes flicked down to his chest, then back up to his face before he smiled, stepped into his space and smoothly kissed him, steadying his chin with the tips of his fingers.
John returned the kiss before breaking away, sputtering a little before getting his bearings.  “Do you…do you always greet strangers like that?”
Freddie laughed smoothly. “No, silly.”  He looked down, then back up at him, one neatly trimmed eyebrow cocked slightly.  “But I’m excellent at following instructions.”
John flushed, remembering his ‘Kiss the Cook’ apron, and ushered him inside.  “Um, can I get you something to drink?”
“I dunno, can you?” Freddie said smoothly as he walked through the living room of John’s flat, taking in every detail.  He was impeccably dressed, John thought as he tracked him through the space.  He stirred the sauce, leaving it to simmer and reached for a bottle of red wine, pouring Freddie a glass.
He handed it to the man who took it gratefully.  “Something smells yummy.  You didn’t have to cook, darling.”
John smiled, flushing at the epithet.  “It’s just pasta.  It’s nothing.”
Freddie settled on the couch, balancing the wine glass on his knee.  “I hope you don’t mind that I arrived a little early.  I always arrive early to these sorts of things.  It keeps me safe.”
John nodded.  “That’s smart actually.  I don’t mind at all.  I’m just glad you came.”
Freddie waggled his eyebrows over his wine glass.  “I always come.”
John’s blush deepened, and Freddie laughed.
“I can’t help myself, darling, you’re just so damn cute when you do that.”
John lowered his glass. “Do what?”
“Blush like that. It’s precious.”
The two of them sat there for a few moments when Gwyneth took that opportunity to rub against Freddie’s leg.
“What a baby!”
John laughed as Gwyneth stretched and meowed, looking up at Freddie with affection.  “I think she likes you.”
Freddie cooed and scratched her head.  “I think I’m in love.”
--
When Brian arrived, John was busy straining the pasta, so Freddie got the door.
“Hello, darling, he said brightly.
Brian looked at Freddie blankly.  “You’re not John.”
“Come on in!” John called from the kitchen, and Brian side-stepped the man at the door a little nervously to meet the man in the kitchen.
“Um, sorry darling, but as I was about to say, “I’m Freddie.”
Brian looked down at the enigmatic man who had a delicate hand stuck out for him to shake.  He took it.
Brian pressed his lips together.  “Sorry about that earlier.  I uh…I was just expecting John.”
Freddie patted his arm. “It’s alright love.  We’re all a little jumpy.  Just meeting and all that.  But John is lovely. He even cooked.”
John appeared behind Brian, a dish towel over his shoulder.  “Hello,” he said.  “I’m John.”
Brian shook his hand, noticing the calloused fingers.  The young man was trim in figure-hugging jeans and a crisp blue shirt that brought out the green in his eyes.  Brian swallowed hard.
“Brian,” he said a little thinly.
John smiled, and it went straight to his gut.  “I hope you like pasta Brian.”  He walked to the counter and poured him a glass of wine.
Brian took it from him. “I do actually.  Just no meat sauce.  I’m a vegetarian.”
John looked horrified. “Fuckity fuck,” John he said allowed. “How about a salad?”
Freddie howled with laughter, the outburst so loud it scared Gwyneth under the couch.  Brian just smiled softly, laying a hand on John’s shoulder.  “That actually sounds lovely John.”
Brian made his way to the couch, followed closely by Freddie.  The other man was observing him very keenly, taking in the softly curling hair and the sharp nose framing the delicate face.  Brian was dressed very casually compared to Freddie, but he was no slouch.  His neat jeans and tan blazer suited his slim physique very well.
John stared at the clock. It was crowding seven now, and Roger was nowhere to be found.  A little pang of worry stabbed at his heart.  It was possible that he might not show, and that was fine, but he was certainly looking forward to meeting him.  He thought of the blue eyes the photo had hidden that he would never get to see.
Instead of worrying, he busied himself with plating the pasta and salads.  Brian met him in the kitchen, setting his wine glass down. “Let me give you a hand, John.” His smile was genuine and warm, and John found that he liked it very much.
With two working it took half the time, and everyone had their food.  Freddie looked around at the empty place setting and frowned. “Where’s number four?”
John worried his lip. “I don’t really know,” he said honestly. “I’m sure he’ll make it.”
Freddie smiled sympathetically.  “Sometimes they don’t love.  Nerves and all.”
Almost on cue, there came a tentative knock at the door.  John stood a little too fast before settling himself down enough to answer it.  He knew before looking through the peephole who it was.
Roger was dressed in a fashionable leather jacket and matching pants that hugged his figure. His trademark sunglasses were in the collar of his frayed t-shirt, no doubt purchased that way.  His hair was messy-chic.  John couldn’t stop staring at him until those blue eyes popped up to meet his.  “You’re John?”
“Y-yeah,” he stammered out. “Nice to meet you Roger.”  Roger shook it rather limply as he breezed into the living room, not giving John more than a glance.  He stiffened when he heard voices from the kitchen.
“There you are!” Freddie called out to him.  “Thought this was going to be a threesome.  And while that’s still lovely, I do hate it when plans change,” he pouted.
Roger turned rather haltingly to face the other two men who had been eating and chatting, getting to know one another.  Brian pointed to the open seat at the table, and Roger took it.
“Mind if I smoke John?”
John liked his voice…soft but still masculine.  It made his stomach flutter.  And while he smoked, he usually didn’t smoke inside because of Gwyneth. But he supposed—
“That’s fine,” John finally said.  He watched as the fire from the lighter illuminated his fine features; he was certainly very beautiful, this Roger.
“I made dinner,” John offered, hoping to start a conversation with the man who had said very little since he arrived.
“Not hungry mate. Thanks though.”
John frowned a little, and Freddie cleared his throat.
“Well I’m Freddie, and this is Brian,” the ever talkative Freddie began with the introductions.
“Roger,” the newcomer mumbled around his cigarette.
They resumed eating and things grew quiet and bit awkward as Roger sat there smoking while everyone ate. He was very closed off, like he didn’t want to be there.  John would need to get to the bottom of it if things progressed.
“Now that we’re all here, I’m a true bottom,” Freddie said matter-of-factly, “so I hope there are some tops among us.”
John nearly choked on his penne, and Brian had to pat him on the back, a fond smile on his face.  “It doesn’t matter to me either way,” Brian said, his face growing hot.
“Me neither,” John said quietly.
Roger took a bored drag on his cigarette.  “Top,” he muttered.
Freddie’s eyes grew wide. “Really…”
Roger snapped his gaze Freddie’s way.  “Yeah, that’s right.  Is that so hard to believe, you wanker?”
Freddie put his hands up in defense.  “No reason to be nasty, love.  Just took me by surprise is all.  You just give off…bottomy vibes.”
Roger stubbed out his cigarette in his empty plate.  “What the FUCK is that supposed to mean?”
Freddie rolled his eyes. “Nothing darling.  Forget it.”
Roger had stood, fists balled at his hips, and he was gyrating with anger.  John and Brian were looking on, wide-eyed, wondering where all of this would go.
Until Freddie stood and hugged the man.
Roger relaxed into his grip, his head dropping to his shoulder.  He sighed, arms relaxing at his sides.
“Darling, it’s alright,” Freddie soothed against him.  “It’s all alright now.”
And when Freddie pulled away, he kissed him softly on the lips.
Roger hummed in surprise before relenting into the kiss, letting his mouth go pliant against the other man’s and enjoying the faint hint of tomato sauce and chapstick on his tongue. When Freddie released him, he sighed.
“Why—why did you do that?”
Freddie reached up to thumb at his chin.  “Darling, you looked like you needed it.  When’s the last time someone hugged you?”
Roger’s eyes stung with oncoming tears, but he willed them back down.  His lack of an answer was enough for Freddie.
“Let us take care of you tonight,” he said sweetly.  “Show you true affection.  Make you feel good.”
“Yeah,” Roger found himself saying.  It sounded so nice, after all, to be truly wanted and cared for, if only for the night.
Brian and John were beside them now, and John leaned in and lay a hand on Roger’s arm.  “Are we ok?”
Roger nodded, feeling much more at ease.  “Yeah, everything is fine.”
John smiled.  “Let’s clean up, yeah?  Then maybe we can move this into the bedroom.”
--
“You uh…You mind if I just watch for a while?”
Roger had gotten his shirt off, and then nerves had taken over.  Freddie was on all fours, moaning into John’s talented fingers as he opened him up, his heavy cock straining with need.
John shot him a smile. “Sure love.  Do what you’re comfortable with,” he said as he punched another moan out of Freddie, twisting those fingers inside of his tight walls.
Roger eased off the bed before a hand grabbed him.  “Hey,” Brian said, hazel eyes soft with lust.
Roger swallowed, the tall man’s kind smile making him feel instantly at ease.
He smiled, his heartrate going down a bit.
“Where are you off to?” Brian answered innocently. He was crowding his space, the bare skin of his chest now flush with his as he bent his head to nose at his hair.
“That chair in the corner,” Roger said softly.  “I was gonna watch.”
Brian placed a little kiss to his hair.  “Not gonna play?”
Roger’s throat was dry, and he was straining in his trousers.  “Not right now,” he trailed off.
Brian kissed further down the side of his face.  “Pity,” he said as his hands traveled over Rogers bum.
“You ever had a really good blowjob, Roger?  One that makes you feel like you’re exploding into a billion stars?”  Brian finally reached his mouth and locked lips with him, his tongue curling around his, kissing him so deeply it stole Roger’s breath.
Roger moaned in spite of himself, leaning into Brian’s touch.  Brian released him, never breaking eye-contact.  “Well, have you?”
He answered him truthfully. “I guess not,” he said a little breathlessly.
Brian smiled.  “That’s what I was hoping you would say.”
“Can you take a fourth finger baby?”  Freddie just moaned, gripping the sheets as he tossed his head back.  John slid it in, delighting in the way Freddie just fluttered around him, drawing him in like he was born to take it.  He worked his fingers in and out of him, hitting his prostate to make him moan.  The sound of Brian going down on Roger was in his ears and it home to John that this foursome dream of his was really happening, this little birthday fantasy of his was real.
John pressed kisses into Freddie’s neck, making sure his fingers kept up a steady pressure. Freddie just moaned—he was so vocal—and thrust his hips up to meet his fingers.
“Need your cock,” he finally breathed.  “Give it to me John.”
Roger shivered as Brian circled the head of his cock with his tongue, licking the slit before descending on him again.  Brian took him all the way to the base, his nose buried in the dark blond hair there, Roger’s hot length stretching his throat with every bob of his head.
Above him, Roger was coming undone.  He was making little keening sounds as Brian played with his balls while sucking him off, moaning and sputtering that he wouldn’t last long.  It didn’t matter to Brian.  He loved this.
The man grabbed a handful of his hair just before coming hot and full down his throat, his back arching prettily.  Brian swallowed him down, finally pulling off him when he was sure he was finished.
Brian dabbed at his mouth as Roger looked at him with a little bit of awe.
“You good?” he asked Roger as he sat back on his knees, smiling up at him.
“Incredible,” Roger sighed. “That was better than X.”
Brian frowned.  “X?”
“Ecstasy? The party drug?” Roger looked perplexed that the man had never heard of it.
He dug in his pocket and produced a little baggie and handed it to Brian, who pushed it away.
“Sorry mate, but I’m not down for that.  Brian looked nervously over his shoulder.  John doesn’t look the type either, so I’d put that away if I were you.”
Roger stuffed the baggie of pills back into his pocket.  “Do I look like the type?” he said as he zipped up his fly.
Brian just sat there, thinking.
Freddie had one hand on his leaking cock, stroking it in rhythm to John’s thrusts.  His head was pressed into the mattress, and he was having the time of his life.
“Harder John.  Fuck me harder babe.  Like you mean it!”
John loved how vocal Freddie had been to begin with, but now he was being outright bratty.  John hitched Freddie’s hips higher, angling them so he could aim directly at his prostate.  Freddie’s body was slicked with sweat as was his own, so maneuvering them was no easy feat.  He pulled out of Freddie and then slammed back down again.
“God yes that’s it lover,” Freddie mumbled into the sheets as he set up a blistering pace, wet flesh slapping against each other as he John chased his release.  Freddie was furiously stroking himself, so it wouldn’t be long for him.  Through Freddie’s plaintive, sharp moans, he could feel the crest of his orgasm stop right at the edge.  He tightened his grip on Freddie, emptying into the condom as wave after wave of pleasure gripped him.  Somewhere through the fog he heard Freddie come right after.
Brian followed Roger into living room, where he was trying to collect his things.  “You’re leaving?”
Roger turned on Brian, his hands on his hips.  “I don’t have much choice, now do I?”
Brian shrugged.  “You always have a choice.”
“I don’t belong here,” Roger said, shaking his head.  “I’m not even gay.”
Brian’s eyes widened. “Are you sure about that?”
Roger shook his head, withdrawing the little baggie of pills.  “Ah fuck it,” he said as he poured a few in his hand.
Brian approached him slowly. “I can’t let you do that, Roger. Take those pills.  Not on my watch.”
Roger clutched the pills in his hand tightly to his chest.  “What the fuck do you care, Brian?   You’re just some guy who blew me off.  You don’t know me?”  He was vibrating with rage, his eyes wide.  “You don’t own me!”
Brian shook his head. “Listen to yourself.  You sound like a child.  We’re talking about drugs, here, Roger.  You could seriously hurt yourself.”
“Yeah well, I hope I do,” He spat.
Brian had no choice. “John!  Freddie!  I need you in here!”
The two of them came rushing in, John in a robe and Freddie struggling into pants.  “Brian, what’s wrong?”
“Roger has drugs,” Brian got out quickly.  “Ecstasy. He’s about to take some.”
Freddie stepped forward between them.  “Oh darling that shit is hell on you.  You don’t want to do that.  Tell me what’s up.”
Roger relaxed a little. “Nothing,” he whispered. The pills were sweating and melting in his hand.  “I just needed to get out of my head for a little while.”
John was watching the proceedings, trying not to panic.  No way did he want drugs in his house, but he also didn’t want to see Roger hurt.
Freddie nodded.  “I so understand that love.  That’s why I hook up a lot.  Sex helps me forget some nasty things in my past and some things that are going on in my daily you know?  It’s a nice escape.  Plus it’s legal and it doesn’t hurt me as long as I’m safe.”
Roger’s hand relaxed a little on the pills.  “Yeah that makes sense,” he conceded.  “I’m glad you have that.”
Freddie nodded again, getting close enough to Roger to smooth some of the hair that hung around his face behind his ear.  Roger seemed to lean into his touch.  “Did you enjoy your time with Brian, him?  Freddie couldn’t keep the wicked smile from his face.  “Sure sounded liked you did.”
Roger smiled then. “Yeah it was really nice.”
“I bet.  Might have to see how nice it is, huh Brian?” Freddie said as he threw a wink over his shoulder at Brian who just laughed at him, shaking his head.
Freddie grabbed Roger’s hand.  “Give me these darling…they’re all melted now, anyway.  Come have some fun with us instead.”
Roger’s lips were dry as Freddie pried the pills from his grip.  “I’ve never…I’ve never been with a man,” he admitted.
“A virgin?!” Freddie gasped, “Oh our boy’s a virgin…we’ll have to take extra special care of him won’t we boys?”
Freddie discreetly handed off the baggie of pills and the few tablets to John who promptly went into the bathroom to flush them.
“Yes,” he said as he stroked his face.  “We’ll take extra good care of you love.  You won’t have to worry about a thing.”
--
Brian stroked the young man’s face as John worked on the fly of his dark jeans, easing them down his hips. His cock sprung free…no pants underneath, and John smiled, stroking him lightly.  Freddie hummed, squeezing Brian’s buttocks as he wrapped an arm around his waist.
“You sure you’re ok with this Roger?”  John’s voice was husky with want, his eyes flicking up briefly from the young man’s cock to his blue eyes where they looked down at him expectantly.
“Yes,” Roger said, leaning into Brian’s hand on his face, his eyes fluttering closed.  “I want this.”
Freddie smiled, tightening his arms around Brian.  They walked Roger back until his legs touched the bed.  He sat down, easing onto the soft comforter while they helped him scoot back.  Brian was between his legs in an instant, easing between his thighs to skate his hands along his chest and arms while Freddie cradled his head in his lap.  Roger’s eyes were wide, his lips slightly parted in a pretty bow, and John bent to kiss them, unable to help himself.
Roger sighed, giving himself over to the kiss, letting his tongue dart out to meet John’s as his arms strained against Freddie hands.  At some point, the dark-haired man had pressed his arms down into the mattress.
Roger panicked for a split second, then the thrill of the restraint sank into his bones, and he truly felt free.
“That’s it baby,” Freddie soothed, “Just let go and let us take over.”  Roger stared up into the man’s soft brown eyes, feeling a strange sense of peace.
Brian was making slow circles on his hip, thumbing the sensitive skin there.  “Roger,” he said softly.  “Do you want to top?”  His hazel eyes bore into his.  “It’s your first time.  It’s easier that way.”
Roger worried his lip. “No,” he said firmly.  “I want to do it like Freddie did.”
Freddie smirked a little, still stroking his hair.  “I knew it. He’s a natural bottom.”
John giggled a little, tossing Brian the lube.  “Open him up nice and slow Brian.  Your fingers are slender.”
John crawled over to Freddie, pulling his head up and kissing him firmly.  Freddie groaned into John’s mouth, letting his hand slide up his chest.  “Up for round two love?”
John just hummed.  “Maybe.  Maybe not. On your knees, True Bottom.”  John pushed Freddie down on his knees, smacking his bum on the way down.  Freddie fell forward, grunting as he hit the mattress, landing on all fours.
He shivered as John climbed up behind him. He could feel his warm breath on the back of his thigh, whispering over his bum as John’s hands settled there.  He parted his cheeks, and Freddie hardly had time to catch his breath before John had licked a hot strip up the cleft of his buttocks.
“Fuck!” Freddie cried out, his whole body jerking under John’s mouth.  John smiled against him, and Freddie felt the wry grin against his skin.
Brian eased a pillow beneath Roger’s hips, watching Roger for any sign of discomfort.  He betrayed none; he seemed as relaxed as he did when Freddie was cradling his head.  Indeed, Freddie had now clasped the blond’s hand while being eaten out, a look of sheet bliss on his face, and Roger gripped it tightly.
“We’re going to do this very slowly, Roger.  It will feel different at first, but then it will feel good, ok?”
Roger nodded his head, taking in a breath.
Brian tutted.  “Don’t hold your breath love.  Blow it out for me.  Just try to relax, ok?  I’m not going to hurt you.”
Brian smiled at him, and Roger returned it.  Brian had the sweetest, most genuine smile, and while he didn’t really know the man, he knew instinctively that he could trust him.
He warmed the lube in is fingers before circling Roger’s entrance with smooth, calculated movements, relaxing the tight muscle.  He pushed one in, and Roger jumped a little.
“How does that feel Roger? Talk to me.”
“Different,” he breathed. “Not bad.”
Brian smiled.  He began working the finger in and out of Roger rhythmically until he felt Roger relax around him, then he added a second.
Roger jerked, a little half-moan escaping his lips.  Brian cocked an eyebrow.  “Is that better?”
“Y-yeah,” Roger stammered. “It’s ok.”
Brian aimed for his prostate, finding the little bundle of nerves in moments, and Roger nearly folded in half.  “Just ok?”
Roger was panting, a fine sweat on his brow, and he unconsciously thrust onto Brian’s fingers. “So good,” he said, his grip on Freddie’s hand tightening.
Freddie preened.  “Look at you baby boy—ahh—taking those fingers so well.  I knew you could do it.”
Freddie looked ruined, very near coming, and the sounds coming from John were bordering on obscene. Roger couldn’t see him, but whatever he was doing to Freddie it sounded like he was enjoying it.
Brian twisted the fingers against him, making him writhe and squirm, until he added a third.
Roger winced at the sting, the stretch of a third finger, but Brian was gentle in coaxing him open. He was leaned over him, planting little kisses on his collarbone, his throat, and finally smothering his moans with his own mouth.  It all felt so intimate, not at all like his drug-fueled shags.  Tears began to spring in his eyes.
Brian noticed immediately. “Roger, am I hurting you?  He lost the fingers immediately.  “Talk to me, Roger.”
“No,” Roger choked out. “Give me more please.”
John laughed as he was helping Freddie clean up.  “You’ve got him begging Brian.   So beautiful for us.”
The fingers returned, a little rougher this time, a little more insistent.  Roger’s legs were open wide and he was almost swallowing Brian’s hand.
“You’re ready, gorgeous. I think my work here is done.” Brian withdrew his hand, wiping it on his thigh, and met John in the middle of the bed.  He kissed him deeply.  “You have him nice and open for me?” Brian murmured softly.
John nodded.  “He’s all yours.  I bet you can get him to come again.”
Brian squeezed John’s arm, locking eyes with him.  “Be gentle with Roger.”
John blinked up at him. “Of course Bri,” he said, using his sign off from his email.  “I wouldn’t dream of hurting him.”
Brian smiled.  “I know.”
John crawled over to Roger, who was still red-faced, his chest heaving.  He leaned over him, giving him a tender kiss.  “Hello love.  Don’t you look ravishing like this?”
John cradled his face in his hand, then trailed it down his chest to tease at a nipple.  “I’m going to take good care of you, yeah?”
Roger only nodded, his eyes half-lidded, lips kiss-swollen and irresistible.
John slid on a condom, coating it with lube.  He pressed against Roger’s open entrance, letting his cockhead push at the rim.  He looked up at Roger.  “We don’t have to do this.  It’s up to you.”
Roger shook his head. “I want it,” he said throwing his back into the pillow.  “Give it to me.”
John pushed gently inside, watching Roger’s intake of breath, is fluttering eyelids at the sudden onslaught of being filled.  He gave him a moment to adjust, the vice-like grip of him around him, hot and incredibly tight driving him mad with the need to move.
“I’m ok,” Roger said finally.  “Go ahead.”
He had one arm over his face and his lip between his teeth, but for his first time he was taking cock so well.  John basically made love to him…slow, measured strokes, his face buried in his shoulder and his hips undulating over his.  He had one hand on Roger’s cock, slowly stroking it in time with his thrusts.
Then Roger started kissing him…hungry, desperate kisses that made the fire rise in his blood.  That, coupled with the feeling of how bloody close they were, their bodies nearly fused together, made John want to give it to him just a little harder.
“Hitch your legs around me baby.  Come on, that’s it.”  John increased his pace, and little whines started coming from the back of Roger’s throat.
“You doing ok?”
Roger nodded furiously. “Gonna come,” he managed.
Freddie and Brian rolled over close to the couple, Freddie taking over for John by working Roger’s cock, and Brian sweeping the hair back from John’s neck and placing an encouraging kiss there.
John could feel his own orgasm building, a tightly packed explosion of euphoria ready to burst at any moment. It was finally punched out of him when Roger looked up at him with those blue eyes and said “Just let go…” He had been the one who had been so careful with him, but it finally took permission from Roger for him to get release.
With Freddie’s help, Roger came right after.
The four of them lay beautifully spent, bodies sweating and coming down from their highs.  Roger lit a cigarette and shared it with Freddie.
“We never cut the birthday cake,” John mused.
Brian laughed.  “What time is it?”
Someone looked at their phone.  “10:20.”
Roger smiled.  “Well, it’s still your birthday.”
John laughed.  “Indeed it is.  Who’s up for some post-coital cake?”
Freddie grimaced.  “That does not sound right.”
They all tumbled out of bed toward the kitchen where John dished up the plates and began serving cake.
John flushed.  “Um, before you go, you’re free to use the shower. Freshen up a bit if you like.  Or, you could stay over…”
Something flashed in their eyes, and they all shared a look.
“I’m actually off tomorrow,” Freddie said.
“I don’t work until nighttime,” Roger added.
“My shift at the coffee shop doesn’t start until ten,” Brian replied.
John brightened.  “Well, that’s great!  I mean, I wouldn’t want you traveling so late and all.  Let’s take our cake back to bed, shall we?”
John gathered up the plates and began to traipse back to the bedroom, but as soon as he got out of sight, Freddie grabbed a piece of paper and put his phone number on it, then gave it to Brian and then Roger and let them do the same.  At the bottom, he wrote “Happy Birthday” with a heart and stuck it on the fridge for John to find later.  Then, all three of them followed John back into the bedroom to finish their cake.

The Competition
A/N: This is a fic for @speedykidprofessorexpert, I really hope that you enjoy this. I’m actually pretty proud of this one, I really hope you like it. Sorry it’s so long and badly written. Also, sorry for the awful ending.
The Hargreeve family was sitting in their living room playing some board game that was going on forever.
“Ugh, are we almost done here? I have other things I could be doing,” Five complained.
“Oh come on, this is fun,” Allison tried to reason with Five. While this little banter was going on Klaus slipped a couple hundreds into his stack, hoping no one noticed. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for him.
“Hey, cheater!” Diego exclaimed after Klaus stole the fake money, poking his side in the process, causing Klaus to let out a squeak.
“Oh, yeah, I forgot you were ticklish,” Luther said moving towards Klaus. Five smirks and sits still, a little jealous that Klaus got to get tickled and not him. While Five was having this little train of thought Luther had pinned Klaus down (with very few protests) and the other three were approaching him slowly. Diego looked a little sadistic, Allison had a loving look in her eyes, and Vanya looking a little scared and excited at the same time. Once they made it to Klaus Diego sat on his legs, Allison went on the left side of his torso and Vanya went onto his right. Vanya poked his side earning them another squeak. Diego held up three fingers and counted down with them, and on one they launched the attack. Klaus shrieked and curved his body upward trying to escape the tickly feelings. While all of this was happening Five had been staring off into nothing. Five quickly snapped out of his trance when he heard his name.
“Wait, what? Did someone say my name?”
“Yeah, I was saying that we might have actually found someone more ticklish than you,” Diego replied, causing both Five and Klaus to turn cherry red.
“THERERERES NOHOHOHOO WAAAAY,” Klaus said through his laughter.
“Please, there’s no way I’m more ti-sensitive than you.”
“Aw, look at him, he can’t even say the word,” Allison cooed causing Five to adopt an even darker shade of red onto his face.
“WAAAAIT BEN SAAAAAYYYYS HEEE HAAAAAS AAAAN IDEAAAAA.” After hearing this, the other three stopped tickling him and let Klaus catch his breath so he could conjure up Ben. After a few seconds of heavy breathing Klaus got to his feet and closed his eyes in concentration. Klaus let out a small huff and Ben appeared in front of everyone’s eyes. After everyone said a quick hello to Ben and gave him a hug Ben share his idea.
“Alright, so since this is obviously going to be a fight, why don’t we just have a competition? Luther can hold them both down and they each pick girl and one guy to be on their ‘team’ or opposing team depending on how you think about it. The four of us tickle one spot at a time, but we tickle them both at the same time and whoever has the stronger reaction ‘wins’ that round, or loses depending on how you think about it. Then whoever has the stronger reaction on the most spots in the end ‘wins’ or-”
“Loses depending on how you think about it,” the rest of the family finishes for him.
“Exactly.”
“Sounds good to me, Five, Klaus, rock paper scissors to see who gets to pick first,” Allison commanded. The boys did the game, and Klaus came out on top.
“Alright, Vanya, you’re on my team.”
“Okay, then Ben, I want you,” Five said pointing at said boy. The two Hargreeves hurried over to their respective sides, quickly followed by Allison going to Five and Diego going to Klaus because the rules stated, one boy, one girl on each team. Five and Klaus both looked at each other and said a nervous good luck then laid on their backs with their arms above their heads. Luther was quick to scoop up both pairs of wrists and firmly pin them down.
“So start on neck?” Vanya asked, walking towards Klaus’ head without waiting for an answer. The other three complied stationing themselves at their respective “teammate’s” neck.
“Okay, 3, 2, 1, go!” Luther announced, unleashing a flurry of fingers onto the necks. Five merely giggled and tried to scrunch up his shoulders, nothing much. Klaus on the other hand… Oh boy, Klaus practically shrieked then fell into loud belly laughter.
“Hmm, I wonder who wins, what do you guys think?” Ben asked
“SHUUUUUT UUUUP BEHEHEHEN” Klaus tried to sound mad, but let’s be honest, in what world can you sound mad while being tickled? The four ticklers took their time to draw to a slow stop that still had Klaus giggling.
“Okay, so it’s 1-0, underarms next?” Allison asked. They all nodded and Luther counted down again and once again, it began. Five writhed around from side to side and giggled at a loud volume. But once again, then there was Klaus, Klaus was practically shooting into the air, but only giggling. Everyone thought it was quite endearing, how his body was betraying his voice or vice versa depending on how you think about it (Ben’s partial thought process).
“Well, they’re both only giggling, but Five’s giggles are louder,” Ben observed causing Five to blush crimson.
“Yeah, but Klaus is squirming around a lot more than Five,” Diego commented, digging in more to Klaus causing him to yelp.
“Stooop teeeeeaaaasing,” Five and Klaus said in unison. Everyone just laughed at their brothers, glad to see them laughing.
“Geez, Klaus, that’s 2-0, are you even going to give Five a chance?” Ben taunted his buddy.
“Whatever, let’s just get this over with,” Klaus said trying to hide his blush in his arms.
“Your wish is my command, what do you say guys, ribs next?” Everyone quietly agreed, well almost everyone.
“No!” Five squeaked out, his face visibly paler than the last time.
“Sorry Five, you don’t really get a say in this,” Allison said, placing her hands on Five’s ribs making him squeak.
“Aw, he’s so cute, did you hear the squeak?” Vanya gushed over her younger (ish) brother.
“I’d stop teasing him if I were you, I don’t think his face can go any redder, and I think he’s gonna blow up if it does get any redder,” Ben said also placing his hand onto Five’s ribs.
“Sh-shut up.” As soon as the words left his mouth Five regretted it, both Allison and Ben fug into his ribs at the same time. Shortly followed by Diego and Vanya copying the action on Klaus. Five felt like his stomach was about to touch the roof with how high he arched his back. Five immediately came crashing trying to evade the tickly feelings invading his ribs.
“GAAAAAAH STAHAHAHAHAP,” Five squealed, not really wanting it to stop, but he wanted to put on a show for them. Meanwhile, Klaus was merely giggling once again at the tingling he felt at his ribs. The rib tickling continues on for a couple more minutes before they all conclude that Five is the winner.
“Alright, 2-1, you’re catching up Five,” Diego said, giving him a quick pat on the shoulder making Five cringe. “Alright, let’s continue this, sides next?” The two “victims” just sat there in silence not wanting to waste energy. Luther started up the countdowns again, but even before that both Klaus and Five were already squirming and giggling.
“We haven’t even touched you guys yet,” Allison said astounded.
“They’re just that ticklish,” Ben answered digging into Five’s sides causing the same reactions that had ensued with the rib tickling. Klaus, however, had a much different reaction than what happened with the rib tickling. Klaus had about the same reaction as Five was having right at this moment. He was thrashing every which way and laughing just about as hard as he possibly could.
“Hmm, well they both seem to be pretty ticklish here, so why don’t we try something a little stronger,” Diego suggested with a wave of his eyebrows. Everyone nodded and started leaning their heads downward.
“NOHOHOHO, NAHAHAHAT FAHAHAHAIR,” Five said trying to move away from the incoming pairs of lips.
“IIIIIIII AGREEEEEEEE.” The four of them didn’t listen, all at once they all blew a raspberry into Five’s and Klaus’ sides. Five arched his back to the point that it looked like it was going to break, shrieked, then fell into silent laughter, slamming back down onto the ground writhing around like a worm. Klaus, simply fell into silent laughter, not having enough energy to fight back. After both of their faces turned blue everyone stopped and let them sit up and take a break.
“You guys having fun?” Vanya asked rubbing Five and Klaus’ backs.
“No,” they both said in unison a little too quickly. Everyone just smiled at the two lovingly.
“Are you guys ready to continue yet? We only have two spots left, right guys?” Allison asked.
“Yeah, I think so, unless of course they tie, in which case we have three,” Ben responds. Five and Klaus groan, but still lay down side by side with their arms above their heads. Allison was first to speak,
“Stomach then?” Everyone nodded and waited for Luther to count down. On three all hell broke loose, Klaus was screaming with laughter and bucking like a bronco. Five wasn’t handling it much better, he was bouncing around from side to side, also screaming with laughter, but squeaking and snorting along with it every couple of seconds. Everyone already knew who had won, but they couldn’t help but continue.
“Alright, guys, we know who won, they’re turning blue again,” Luther input, not wanting to kill his siblings. Everyone stopped and repositioned themselves down at the boys’ feet.
“Alright boys, 3-2, Five made his comeback Klaus, unless you tie it here, Five wins,” Diego said smirking, knowing very well that Klaus’ feet were almost as ticklish as his were.
“You know, you’re just being mean at this point,” Klaus attempted to pout, but he couldn’t break the smile on his face. Luther started the countdown for the fifth time now and they started the attack on the guys’ feet. Five quietly giggled and slightly moved side to side, the tickling not really affecting him that much seeing as how his feet weren’t that ticklish. Klaus, on the other hand, was squirming around so much that Luther almost lost his grip on him.
“OKAHAHAHAY, THAHAHAHAT’S ENOUGH, TIE BREAKER!” Everyone backed off the two and cuddled to discuss what the tie breaker should be. Once they returned Ben started in a very loud and quite obnoxious voice,
“Since it is 3-3 we have decided that the tie breaker shall be, wait for it, the knees! Bum bum bum!” Five’s face just drained of all color, he knew he could barely take someone barely touching his knees, but two people? He would absolutely going to die. Everyone just cooed and/or laughed at him.
“Aw, what’s wrong Five? Is the little baby just too tickwish on his knees?” Diego teased, a fake pout ever so present on his face. Five merely mumbled something that sounded awfully close to, “fucker, teasing me.” Klaus, just happily layed down and got comfortable, wearing a cocky smirk throughout the process. He knew he had it in the bag, his knees were about as ticklish as Five’s feet. Five begrudingly laid down, mumbling about how this was, “biased as fuck,” and that they were “setting him up to ‘win.’” Luther counted down for the final time and the tickling began. Five immediately began to fail like mad. His laughter had gone up about three octaves and was so loud they were sure the neighbors were going to call the cops. On top of all that he was making every noise in the book, squeak, squeal, hiccup, snort, you name it, he was doing it. Everyone thought it was so adorable that they abandoned Klaus (who was barely giggling, and kind of twitching) to go help tickle Klaus. As soon as Klaus got the ghost feelings out of his feet (which were still there, that’s how tickling Klaus’ feet are) he went over to help as well. Five was silently laughing in a matter of seconds. Two people were bad enough, but five people! He couldn’t take it. Five was desperately trying to get words to form in his mouth, but he couldn’t it was impossible to make a word, much less a sentence. Thankfully after about half a minute of this new form of torture they all stopped and got off of Five. Diego swooped into the protective brother roll,
“You okay bud? Did we take it too far?” Diego started to gently massage Five’s shoulders after he stopped the heavy breathing causing little giggles to fall out of his mouth.
“Nohoho, it was okahahay.” Everyone smiled lovingly at Five for about the millionth time for that day.
“Well I guess we know who’s more ticklish then,” Vanya said giving a little poke to Five’s side causing him to squeak.
“Yup, it’s our baby brother,” Allison teased, ghosting her fingers over Five’s neck.
“I’m ohoholder thahahan you,” Five said trying to glare, but failing miserably.
“Yeah Five’s more ticklish, but Klaus isn’t far behind,” Ben stated copying Vanya’s action onto Klaus. Klaus just weakly giggled and pawed at Ben’s hand.
“Alright, I think they’ve had enough for today and we’re running out of food. I’m gonna go to the store. Anyone wanna come with?” Luther asked digging in his pocket for the care keys.
“I will, I need more mascara,” Allison volunteered.
“Yeah me too, but I’m coming to make sure you,” Vanya said playfullying waving a finger at Luther, “Don’t forget anything like you do every time.”
“Good idea.” The three of them got up waving a quick goodbye to the remaining four. Diego started to stand up when Klaus stopped him, his face bright red
“Um D-diego, c-could you maybe ti-tickle me a little more?” Diego didn’t even need to think about it he immediately pounced on Klaus going straight for his neck. Klaus was in hysterics in seconds. Five stared longingly at Klaus and Diego, his bottom out in a pout. This didn’t go unnoticed by Ben.
“Five, do you want me to tickle you some more?” Ben asked. Five nodded, his face redder than Klaus’ was,
“Y-yes please.”
“I’d be happy to, where? Knees?”
“N-no I c-can’t take an-anymore of th-that tonight, m-maybe my sides?” Ben just nodded and pulled Five so close to him he was practically in his lap. Ben went from lightly tracing patterns making Five squirm around and giggle to digging into his sides, making him thrash around and belly laugh. Klaus was having just as much fun with Diego. Diego had slipped his hands under Klaus’ shirt and into the hollows of his arms. Klaus had shot his arms down as soon as this happened trapping Diego’s hands.
“DIEEEGOHOHO, NAHAHAHA, STOHOHOP.”
“Well I would bud, but you have trapped my hands under your arms, they’re stuck.” Klaus couldn’t even respond to the teasing, he had gone into silent laughter. Diego started to retract his hands when he heard Five shriek. Ben had lifted up his shirt and started blowing raspberry after raspberry into his stomach
“BEHEHEN NOHOHO, I CAHAHAN’T TAAAAAAKE IIIIIIT.” Ben just laughed into Five stomach and blew another raspberry making Five pound his fists into the couch. Diego looked over at Klaus evilly.
“Don’t you fucking dare,” Klaus said trying to sound serious but failing horribly.
“But it looks so fun,” Diego said, slowly coming towards Klaus. Klaus got up and ran up the stairs, Diego hot on his heels. Ben and Five shortly thereafter heard a thud followed by Klaus’ shrieking.
“I guess Diego caught him,” Ben said removing his hands from Five’s torso.
“Yeah, I’m sure Klaus doesn’t mind that much, I know I didn’t,” Five replied his face a dark shade of red, “Hey, and thanks for doing that for me.”
“It was my pleasure,” Ben said gently squeezing Five’s knee making Five laugh.
“Nohoho, you said yohohou wohohouldn’t.”
“When?”
“I dohohon’t knohohow.”
“Exactly, I didn’t.” For the next half an hour, the Hargreeve household was filled with loud, happy, boisterous laughter.

Theory of Love Episode 2: Love Actually
I was really looking forward to this episode because, as those who read my first review may remember, I was lest than impressed with the first episode. It left something to be desired and I felt as though the plot was moving too fast for a single episode.
Episode 2 doesn’t fix everything, but I like it a lot more than the first one.
Emotions
The episode itself starts off really heavy. If you haven’t started the series yet and are going it, the start of episode 2 flowers nicely after the emotions of episode 1. However, the entire first half felt extremely heavy and serious, so it was hard for me to really enjoy it. The first episode instantly made me laugh so that I couldn’t help but cry with the emotional ending. This episode has me feeling pity for poor Third, which helps make the second half feel funnier and also more genuine.
Altogether, an emotional first-half does help, but it made the entire episode feel too heavy and I was left thinking the humor was lacking.
ENTER: The Love Rival (I’m pretty sure)
The love rival can also be called “the curse of the drama fan,” as they’re typically the one they’d rather win than the main character’s actual love interest. When the love rival is typically introduced, the main character’s actual love interest is a huge jerk and it seems like the main character has no chance. For our KDrama fans, I typically think of the drama “To the Beautiful You,” which has Minho’s character Tae-Joon appearing as a jerk towards Sulli’s character Jae-Hee. Even though we as the viewer know Tae-Joon will win, many fans still cheered for Lee Hyun-Woo’s character Eun-Gyeol. Of course, by the end, we do support the main love interest, but we still cheer on the second one.
I, personally, have found that the love rival works well to help trigger a change in the main love interest. It’s not always the case, but they can help ignite jealousy and possessiveness, and even to help the main interest realize that they have feelings for the main character.
Now, granted, our new character Un isn’t necessarily a love rival yet. However, considering what I typically see with love rivals, he seems to fit the bill. We have the main love interest, Khai, who seems to be oblivious to Third’s feelings and actually causes Third frustration and pain. He’s carrying about his life like usual, and then this handsome af guy comes up and talks to Third like its nothing. The characters explain that he directs (like Third), he can attract girls without doing anything, and he’s kind. They also mention he’s been hanging around Third since their freshman year (three years, the length of time Third has liked Khai). Oh, yeah, and did I mention he’s handsome? He genuinely makes me think of Forth from 2Moons, as they’re both really handsome and kind (and neither will end up with the main guy, though I’ve heard Forth+Beam should be a thing in season 2 of 2Moons). Honestly, I thought Un’s actor (Earth) was attractive when I saw him as Type in Love By Chance (which didn’t finish airing that long ago).
Basically, from what we know about Un (which is basically how amazing he is + that he’ been friendly with Third since their first year), it seems like he fits the bill and will help ignite the romance a bit.
Wingman Failure
Two has a good heart. I said in the last review that, just based on the preview for episode 2, it seemed like he’d be a key ally to Third. His attempts to help actually make for great comedic relief since he’s really bad at helping Third. One thing that’s apparent early on in the episode is that Two doesn’t quite understand Third’s mentality. Third has kept this secret for three years! He was ready to give up and move on and never tell anyone the truth. It was just luck that Two walked in on him breaking down after having his heart broken yet again by Khai. What does this mean? It means that Third won’t confess just because the timing’s good. This lends itself to the central conflict of this episode: Third’s confessions. Or attempts at them.
In this episode, he has about three good chances to confess to Khai. One is set up by Two, which is when they’re collecting ambient sound. However, he chickens out. And who can blame him? Why would he just confess out of the blue to Khai? It’s not until Khai seems to drop hints about being open to a confession that Third can actually bring himself to do anything (however, Khai is an idiot and probably doesn’t realize that’s the message he’s sending. I’ll get to Khai later).
The second confession is when Third decides to take Two’s advice to copy a confession from a movie. He chooses the film “Love Actually,” which is where the episode’s name comes from. However, this ends in failure because Khai just thinks that Third is trying to help him find ways to get Milk back.
The third confession is set up thinks to Two’s brilliant plan. Using the classic “plan doesn’t go according to plan, but still works,” Two has Third pretend he can’t pay for his apartment. He then says he can’t take him in, planning to have Khai volunteer. Instead, Bone offers. Now, the sight of Bone’s room pretty much makes it clear that Bone should not invite anyone into his room ever and he should probably throw 90% of what’s in his room away. Finally, Khai takes pity and stops Third from staying there, instead inviting him over to his own place. Finally, third makes his confession, which is cute and poetic. The problem is, Khai is stupid and doesn’t realize the poetic statement is a confession. He tells Third not to say that to anyone else, not even their friends, because they’d instantly fall in love. He then walks off, giving Third yet another failed attempt at confessing.
Khai: Redeemed?
In my last review, I made it clear that I didn’t really like Khai’s character. He feels like this character that’s hard to like, as he just keeps hurting Third over and over again. We’re given no info on him other than the fact that he’s an attractive womanizer. However, there is some bit of redemption and hope for the viewer to like him more as the series progresses.
Khai’s redemption actually likes in the fact that he’s an idiot who keeps dropping clues, whether he means to or not. He’s not as big of an asshole in this episode, but he’s also talking about no longer dating girls who don’t really love him. We also see Khai as doing the job he should as a friend: helping and comforting Third. He seems like his heart is more or less in the right place, but this is only episode 2 and I really doubt Khai will be able to keep this up. I watched the preview for episode 3, and that only seems to confirm my suspicions that he’s going to chase after another skirt, leaving Third to feel heartbroken again while not being able to mope around because he’ll have to see Khai and whoever Khai’s hooking up with no place to escape.
Pan? Un?
We meet two new characters in this episode, Pan and Un. I’ve already covered Un’s introduction, but I’d like to reiterate that he really is an attractive guy and we’re not given much info on him aside from his popularity and relationship with Third. Third also seems to genuinely enjoy talking to him, so I really think that he’ll be an interesting character to see develop.
Pan’s timing for her introduction isn’t the best, in my opinion. She’s introduced in the very last scene, which removes any “I want more” feelings from the viewer. We see her talk to Bone, and we see that Bone is clearly interested. Well...there goes my wish that Bone and Two will pair up. Granted, things could change, but the preview also shows an introduction to a female character played by Neen Suwanamas who is clearly known by Two (mydramalist has her listed as Lin, but our Sotus fans may recognize her as May). While I’m fine with Two and Bone both getting girlfriends, I was kind of hoping that the series would feature a second gay romance to help break up the story of the one.
While we get almost no interest on Pan, her being introduced in the last scene would typically imply she’ll be an important character. This especially would hint at her being a key player in the next episode, but it could also be a poor choice for the ending scene in general. For that, we’ll just have to wait and see.
What I Loved
There were a few things I liked this episode. One of the main things I loved was Third editing together the sound clips to say “Khai, I love you” while crying by himself. It was a really emotional scene, especially with the song playing in the background. These are words that we, as viewers, don’t know if Third will ever be able to actually say to Khai. That makes this scene that much more emotional. While the shot did feel long, even with the cross fades between shots, the song playing did help. Besides, the cross fade and slow tears made it feel more of a real pain. It wasn’t him overwhelmed in his heartbreak and swearing to move on, it was him acknowledging to himself that he may never say those words to Khai.
I also loved the scene when they sat in the theater watching the credits role. While they did talk about the movie itself at first, they still sat watching in silence after they finished talking. They were the only people in the theater watching the credits role, which could have simply been setting up a nice shot. However, for me it felt more significant since they are film students. One day, that could be their names in the credits. Also, they understand the hard work that goes into making a movie because of their major. It’s really nice, even though I may just be imagining the whole thing.
Finally, I loved how they showed Third imagining each confession to Khai when looking for a movie confession to use. Each time Bone recommended one, Third imagined it and it was honestly hilarious. It helped lighten the mood for the episode a bit more, which I felt was vital after the serious feeling in the first two parts of the episode.
In general, the mood really picked up after the first half. I especially liked how it showed them together in the apartment, watching a movie, both crying over it. It made the relationship feel more genuine, which is important if the viewer is going to cheer for Khai at all and support the relationship.
Final Words
I left this episode liking Khai more than I had after the first. Additionally, the pacing felt a lot better, too. However, some scenes didn’t flow well and I wasn’t left with that feeling of wanting more after the episode was over. Between episodes one and two, I was eagerly awaiting the subs for Episode 2. I wanted t see what would happen after the emotional ending of Episode 1.
Since we, as the viewers, don’t understand if Pan is anyone of importance, since this is her first appearance, it’s hard to really like her introduction as the ending of the episode. While I know not every episode can end in a cliff hanger, I would’ve liked a more satisfying end to the episode.

I know I will sound like a total pervert and I know that the song is not for a heterosexual couple but I would really love you to do a Fanfic Huma based on the song Bestie - Sizzy Rocket (Harry addressing Uma). Please, I hope it's not too much to ask
It defiantly isn’t too much to ask! This was a lot of fun to write & the song is super catchy. Sorry if it turned out kinda long >.
LEMON below! 18 over. Also mentions of drugs & alcohol use.
 BESTIES
You ever get that metaphorical itch that you just can’t scratch? Harry has has the same one for years now. Just something he wanted so bad that it hurt.
That something was about 5’3 and scared even full grown men.
That’s right the one thing he wanted more then anything was Uma.
He wanted his best friend….and badly.
This wasn’t new to him he had wanted her ever since he started figuring out sex. She had been a reoccurring figure in his fantasies as well as some interesting dreams.
He knew he wanted her. Everyone else knew he wanted her. It seemed the only person who didn’t know how badly he wanted her was her. She seemed to be blissfully unaware of his feelings putting him into the friend zone so far that she even let him see her naked on quite a few occasions (ok maybe the friend zone had some perks)
There was only one time that she seemed aware of any interest it was almost a year ago.
They had finally gotten to Auradon and we’re both working on going back to school after dropping out together before. Something that was taking all the VKs a little longer than the AKs to finish as most barely had a basic education.
But during their senior year Uma had meet a boy. A boy name Brad. He wasn’t a VK nor was he a hero’s child. No he was nobody. Then again that could be used to describe everything about him. He was plain really no defining features. Nothing to like nothing to hate but nothing to like. Harry couldn’t figure out what it was that got Uma to go out with him but she did. For quite a few months till graduation.
That’s when Harry got a call Uma and Brad broke up Harry thanked his lucky stars he didn’t have to see that…..well Brad anymore. But then again he needed to cheer his best friend up.
To the club it was.
And it was a good time. It was a hell of a good time drinking like fish, dancing to their heart’s content, & enjoying some ‘party favors’ they had scored. In other words they were both extremely cross faded & enjoying every moment of it.
They were in fact too far gone because Harry hadn’t even remembered most the night. But he did remember how tight her dress was. He knew at some point, somehow his hand made its way to her ass. Next thing he knew they were outside in the alley.
He had lifted her up onto some scaffolding learning against a wall. This gave him easier access to her. Her lips were soft and he could still taste the rum of their last shot on her tongue. He couldn’t help but wonder why they had never done this before.
They were both extremely intoxicated not just on the booze but each other. That’s why neither of them heard the creaking at first. It wasn’t until the whole thing came crashing down they heard anything.
Being at the emergency room at 3am trying to explain what happened sobered them both up pretty damn quick. Harry walking out with a sprained wrist and Uma leaving with a few stitches by her hairline and a story neither of them ever brought back up.
That was over a year ago Harry’s wrist healed and Uma was left with a small scar. It wasn’t something anyone would notice you’d have to know and be close.
Harry was looking at the scar holding back the urge to touch it. Neither of them had ever brought back up the night so Harry assumed it meant she didn’t remember it or the fact he put the moves on her.
They went right back to how they had always been friends. But he didn’t mind at all, that was why he was laying across on the couch watching some movie with Uma between his legs as she laid with her back against him.
“God why do these stupid movies on tv all have the same theme?” Uma complained taking a drink of beer.
“How so?” Harry asked he hadn’t actually been paying attention to the movie.
“It’s all about people wanting to fuck their best friend.” Uma said putting her beer on the end table. “I mean seriously not that many people can want to fuck their best friends.”
“I’d fuck my best friend.” Harry mumbled under his breath not thinking. It took him a minute to realize what he had just done. God he hoped she didn’t hear.
But it seemed the Gods weren’t on his side as she suddenly sat up turning to look at him offended.
Shit he did it now. She was pissed and probably gonna hit him. That was if she even agreed to talk with him anymore. Him and his big mouth.
“Harry Hook! I thought I was your best friend!” She said putting a hand on her chest in mock offense.
“Ya know ya are lass. Don’t be dramatic.” He said hoping maybe somehow she missed the fucking part of that.
“Then you want to fuck me?” She asked her tone now deadly serious.
What could he do now? He could lie but then there was the chance that she’d find out and be pissed. He could tell the truth but there was always the chance she would be pissed. It looked like either choice would end up with him getting his ass kicked by her and whoever she decided to send his way.
“Harry!” She barked snapping him out of his thoughts.
“Huh what was it?” He said running a hand through his hair he could already feel his face turning bright red.
“Do.you.want.to.fuck.me?” She said making sure to emphasize every word so he heard.
He sighed there was no win this situation so might as well bite the bullet right? After a long silence he finally spoke up.
“Yeah kinda.” He managed to push out finally.
“Really?” Uma said intrigue sparking in her eyes and a smirk crossing her face. “Guess the feeling is mutual then.” She said with a shrug leaning back against the couch casually as if talking about the weather.
Woah, woah there was no way he heard that correct.
“Wait! What!?!” he said confusion written all over his face.
“Come on think of how many times you’ve seen me naked. Think that was an accident? Or when I let you take me outside the club after you grabbed my ass. Think about it.”
He still couldn’t believe what he was hearing never in a million years did he think she felt the same way he did. How could he be so dim to not pick up on the not so subtle hints? God he was almost as dense as Gil.
“I….I guess I never thought about it.” He admitted looking away sheepishly.
“Well now you know.” Uma said as she moved to face him still sitting between his legs. “So what are we going to do about it?”
This was a loaded question. There were a million things he could do at that moment he could ask what she wanted, think of consequences of doing anything or he could just go for it. But of course being as impulsive as Harry was he knew his answer.
Sitting up he grabbed her chin in his hand a mischievous smile spreading across her face as he did.
“I think I got an idea if ya are up for it.”
Without waiting for answer he tilted her chin up so she was looking at him for a moment before his lips meet hers.
Softly at first almost hesitantly making sure she didn’t want to back out. But she did didn’t pull away in fact she deepened the kiss between them as she ran a hand over his shoulder. There was no way she was pushing away. She had almost forgotten what a good kisser he was.
Soon much like everything else their kisses became full of passion borderlining on violence full of nips to her lips and tugs of his hair. It became a competition over who was in charge neither of them wanted to lose.
Uma was currently straddling her competition running her hands through his hair with a tug. That was when he decided it was his turn to be in charge. Grabbing her by the hips he moved to flip her over but he must of underestimated the size of the couch as they both soon tumbled onto the floor with a loud thud.
They both stopped for a moment taking a second to figure out what happened before they both looked at each other. A smile crossed each of their faces before they burst out laughing.
Harry seized the distraction as his moment to move over her almost pinning her to the ground. He still wasn’t ready to give up control yet.
Before she could even argue or yell at him he bent down his lips finding the crook of her neck. She let out a noise he had never heard from her before but it only encouraged him as he continued to pepper her neck with kisses.
She moved her head to the side giving him better access to her neck. He smirked to himself knowing this was a sign she was giving up control to him as well.
He continued to kiss up and down her neck as his hand found its way to the hem of her shirt. Slowly as if he was worried he scare her off his hand moved under her shirt. He could feel the way her muscles moved ever so slightly under his fingers. He moved higher and higher till he could feel the edging of her bra.
She suddenly grabbed his hand moving it out of her shirt as she pushed him off her.
God damn it. He did something wrong. He fucked something up. His mind was racing over everything that happened he thought it was going well.
Without saying a word her hands moved to her own shirt. He watched as she slowly pulled it over her head tossing it somewhere across the room leaving her in just her black bra. Copying her his shirt soon followed suit.
She then pulled him back into a kiss as his hands wasted no time on working taking the bra off sliding it off her shoulders as it soon found its way across the room like predecessors.
He pushed her back against the ground again taking a moment to look over the beauty under him. She couldn’t help but look away from gaze almost embarrassed. His hand moved up her stomach fingers feather light coming to her breast.
Cupping her breast gently he gave it a small squeeze. His thumb ran across her perked nipple before giving it a tug. Judging by the deep breath she took he could tell she liked it.
He continued to almost experimenting on breast as his mouth moved back to her neck slowly moving lower till it occupied the spot his hand bad been just moments before. This caused her to let out a small moan as his other hand moved to her other breast.
Harry couldn’t help but notice how her hips slightly rocked. She must of been enjoying all the attention more than he realized.
Moving away from her chest his hand continued to explore her body stopping at the button of her pants. He looked up at her as if asking for permission she knew what he was asking as she nodded slightly.
Sliding a hand gently down the front of her pants he could feel heat radiating off of her. Moving lower he ran a finger down her slit. He could already feel how wet she was even through her silk panties.
Motioning for her to lift her hips up he helped her slide off her pants as well as her panties throwing them to the side.
There she was laying in front of him totally naked and waiting for him to do what he pleased. There was so many things he wanted to do to her at that moment. He could feel his erection pushing painfully against his pants but he pushed that thought away. Right now he had other things to worry about and that was her.
Rubbing her slightly he couldn’t help but smirk as she gasped her eyes fluttering shut. He did it again with more pressure.
“Ya like that love?” He whispered lowly in her ear causing her to shudder never stopping what he was doing.
“Yes.” She choked out quietly he had to admit having her like this was great for his ego.
Wanting to see exactly how far he could go he slipped a finger inside of her causing her let out a groan.
God was she always this wet or was it just for him? Either way he wouldn’t complain.
Soon he he added another finger inside of her then another it seemed the more he added the more she moaned. Soon her hips were moving against his hand as he finger fucked her.
God he wished to be down there right now. He didn’t care if it was his dick or his face. But he saving that for later. This was time to take things slow. But that didn’t mean he couldn’t get her off.
Nudging her leg farther apart his other hand rubbed against her clit causing her hips to buck. He started rubbing her clit noticing how she squirmed when he did something he liked soon developing a rhythm as his fingers still moved in and out of her.
Her eyes were closed tight and her breathing was coming out in shorter and shorter pants. He had been with enough women to know what this meant.
Never taking his eyes off her face he watched as she suddenly clenched tight around his fingers. He had always wondered what it looked like when she got off but whatever had thought this was so much better.
“Oh wow.” She said catching her breath.
“You ok?” He asked she just let out a laugh before sitting up.
“Yeah…. yeah I am. Now I’m not gonna be the only one here naked lose the pants.” She ordered.
He rolled his eyes at her before moving to his belt before stopping for a moment.
“Wait…ya know once this happens it’s a done deal right? No turning back.” He would never force her into anything she didn’t know want to do or feel indebted to him. If she wanted to stop here he would. She just scoffed.
“Pants now!”
“Bossy.” he said slipping out of his clothes trying to ignore the feeling of her eyes over him
“Shut up Harry.” She said this time it was him on his back as she kissed at his neck.
Unlike him Uma never had the chance to see him naked before. But she couldn’t say she was disappointed. Running a hand down his chest she wrapped a hand around his member stroking it softly.
She could hear him let out a low groan in the back of his throat. That had to be one of the hottest thing she had ever heard. Gripping him tighter she tried to see what other noises she could get out of him never pulling away from his neck where she altering between kisses and bites. She could feel him twitch in her hands.
“Uma…” he mumbled huskily.
“Hmm?” Was her only reply.
“Uma stop.” He mumbled pulling her hand away.
She looked at him raising an eyebrow as she grudgingly pushed away. Better not be anything stupid.
“I need to be inside ya.” It almost came out as a growl.
Ok correction that was the hottest thing she had ever heard. Before he could try to get up again Uma pushed his chest making him lay back down.
“Nuh uh.” She said moving over him as he rolled his eyes.
“Always gotta be in charge don’t cha?”
But before he could say anything else she moved to straddle him. He could feel just the tip of his penis moving into her and God did it feel good. He tried to buck his hips up but she pushed him back down.
Instead she slowly (ungodly slow in his opinion) moved herself down on him. They both knew she was being a tease. She continued to slowly move against him as he fought to try and thrust against her being pushed back every time.
“Stop teasing and fuck me lass.” He hissed out grabbing onto her hips and thrusting in her.
They both let out a moan enjoying the feeling. That must’ve been enough to convince her because she started moving herself at a faster pace as he started to match it with his own thrusting.
Harry could feel her nails dig into his arms as her pace started to pick up. She was soon going at her own speed obviously trying to reach for something herself and Harry happily helped thrusting harder. He could feel her thighs start shaking slightly he she wasn’t going to last long.
And he was right it was only moments later she called out his name as he felt her tighten around him climaxing.
Hearing her say his name coming out of her mouth like that was enough for him. Motioning for her to move he soon reached his own orgasm. (Sure he loved the idea of her having his baby but not yet)
They both laid on the floor or the living room catching their breath. The realization of what just happened hitting both of them. Neither really want to ask the questions that should be asked (Still friends? More? Do it again?)
“Aye Uma…” Harry started looking at the ceiling.
“What?” Uma asked glancing over at him worried.
“Next time I’m on top.”
“You wish.”

The Girl Squad gets together for a sleepover. No boys allowed. This is a longer drabble, so I put most of it under a read more.
@marinettemarch
Enjoy!
Read on Ao3
“Marinette! One of your friends is here!” Her maman’s voice called up the stairs, interrupting a frantic bout of cleaning. She’d lost track of time and put it off until the last minute once again, but at least now her room looked presentable when (or if) the party moved upstairs.
“Coming!” With a few last minute adjustments, she raced down the stairs to see who had arrived first. When she saw her maman chatting away with Alya in the kitchen with her duffel bag, she shook her head with a smile. Who else would’ve showed up an hour early? Her best friend noticed her arrival and grinned.
“Hey, girl! You ready to party it up this weekend?” Alya held out her fist, which Marinette gladly bumped. Before she could respond, her maman cut in.
“Hopefully you’ll remind your friends not to ‘party it up’ too hard, right dear?”
Marinette gave her most winning smile. “Right, we’ll be on our best behavior.”
Her maman seemed dubious. “Even Alix?”
The smile became strained and uncertain. “Y-yes. I’ll do my best.”
With a kiss on her forehead, her maman replied, “That’s all I ask. Have fun, dear.”
Once she left the room, cup of tea in hand, Marinette turned back to Alya. “Did you bring everything you’ll need?”
“Relax, girl. I’m psyched and ready to go for this weekend-long slumber party.”
Doing her best to play the part of the unconvinced friend, Marinette crossed her arms and cocked an eyebrow, though her grin gave her away. “So we aren’t going to have a repeat of last time?”
Alya threw her hands up. “Come on, girl! It was one time. What’s a midnight convenience store run between friends?”
They chatted until the sound of the front door opening drew their attention. Marinette rushed over to greet her guests, only to have Rose rushing to meet her at the same time.
“Marinette! I’m so happy to see you!” She collided with Marinette, ensnaring her in a hug. Over Rose’s head - the bubbly girl being one of few people Marinette was taller than - she saw Juleka give a small smile and a timid wave.
“Rose, Juleka! It’s great you could make it. Did you remember to bring everything?”
Rose nodded enthusiastically in way of response, while Juleka said while reaching into her bag, “We even brought games like you asked…”
“Hang on, don’t tell me what game you brought until everyone gets here. It met all the requirements, right?”
“Mhmm. It works on one of your consoles and we could theoretically do multiplayer on it. Or be fun to watch.”
“Awesome!” She lead her three guests into the living room. “We’ll be sleeping in here tonight since the bakery is closed on Sundays and we won’t have to worry about papa waking us up at four in the morning.”
“Sweet, there’s a little more space down here.” Alya sat down on the couch facing the TV. “Any clue when Mylene and Alix are supposed to arrive?”
Scrolling through her texts, Marinette replied, “Alix is going to be late-”
“-as usual-”
“-but Mylene should be showing up any minute now. Once she’s here we can make some snacks while we wait on Alix.”
Rose, seated next to Alya, bounced up and down on the couch. “And then we can start the gaming marathon!”
“Yup! I just hope we can get through all the games…”
“Don’t sweat it, girl!” Alya leaned back. “I was kinda hoping to play mine after everyone was gone anyway. It wouldn’t be that exciting for everyone, and it’d just get jumbled with too many people around. And it would take awhile to get through.”
She could already guess what Alya had brought, given what had been occupying her free time outside hanging out and her work on the Ladyblog. Before she could dwell on it too much, the door opened once again. Marinette went to get her, the others following shortly after.
“Hello!” Mylene waved with one hand while clutching the strap of her backpack with the other. “Everyone else here?”
“We’re waiting on Alix.” Marinette pointed out the way they came from. “You can drop your stuff off in the living room. We’re going to make some food while we wait.”
They had burned an hour cooking in the kitchen, doing their best to stay out of the way of her parents as they went about running the bakery. By the time the last guest arrived, it was midday and the bakery wasn’t going to be open for much longer anyway. Marinette crowded around the living room table as she considered this. It would probably be best to do Mecha Strike III first then, so papa would be less likely to interrupt for a challenge bout. She loved him to pieces, but maman and him seemed to enjoy butting in when she was trying to have friends over.
“Okay everyone. Pull out the game each of you brought and show it to the rest of us.” Marinette suited action to words by slapping down the Mecha Strike III case as though it was a gauntlet. The groans and grumbling she got from the rest of them was like music to her ears.
“We’re agreed that we’ll deal with Marinette trouncing us for as little as possible?” Alix looked around the table and the rest of the girl squad resolutely nodded back at her, like the judgement of a sage council.
“Oh come on! It isn’t that bad,” Marinette attempted to get their hopes up, secretly relishing the thought of dashing it against the ground.
“Max trained for a year and you tore him apart.”
“Well, duh. Fighting the AI only gets you so far!”
“Whatever, here’s my pick.” Alix tossed her game on top of Marinette’s - Grand Theft Auto. Somehow Marinette wasn’t surprised.
“That game doesn’t have split screen and it’s mostly just messing around. How does that fit the requirements?” Marinette crossed her arms over her chest, still slightly miffed from the resolute dismissal of her choice.
“Oh don’t worry about that, pigtails.” Alix smirked. “I have a plan.”
“Well… okay. Mylene?”
“I, uh, brought a Mario Party.” She began to get quieter as she rambled on. “I don’t have a lot of games and we play it a lot at my house so, I, uh… thought you guys might like it. I know it has a bit of a reputation as a friendship-ended, but still-”
“Chill, girl.” Alya patted her shoulder. “It’ll be fun losing to someone who isn’t Marinette for once.”
Marinette stuck her tongue out at Alya as Juleka gently sat her game, the remake of Resident Evil 2, on the table. When the rest of the girls looked to her for any kind of explanation or defense of it, she simply shrugged and said, “I liked it. Plus, not a lot of split screen horror games, you know? Have to take what I can.”
“Fair enough. What about you, Alya? Still playing those detective games?”
“Of course! Gotta keep my mind razor sharp if I’m going to unravel Ladybug and Chat Noir’s identities.” The aspiring reporter shuffled in place, hands empty as she didn’t reach for her duffle bag. “It’s a computer game though, so I don’t have a physical copy. If you don’t mind, I’ll start downloading it now and we can play it tomorrow.”
“Sure. You know the password and everything so go ahead.” While Alya left the room, Marinette turned to the last member of the group. She never really gamed with Rose before, so she didn’t know what to expect. What she definitely didn’t expect was Dark Souls III. Yet, that was the game Rose was waving above her head excitedly. Her mind reeled for a moment before settling on something to say. “Uh, Rose? Isn’t that also single player? What is everyone else going to do?”
Juleka smiled as she put her arm on Rose’s shoulder. “Watching her get into the zone is something to behold.” Seeing the dubious expression on Marinette’s face only caused her grin to widen. “You’ll see.”
Leaving the matter at that, they settled into place to start their marathon. First up - Mecha Strike III.They were packed tightly on the couch, except for Alix and Rose who preferred the ground anyway. The latter leaned back against her girlfriend’s legs while playing, and the former kept scooting closer and closer to the television as the loses piled up. It only took an hour of easy victories for Marinette before they unanimously decided to not play it again for the rest of the night.
Next up was Grand Theft Auto V. While Alix clambered forward to switch out the games, she explained to them. “Here’s the plan - we’re each going to take turns at it. Our goal is to steal a tank.” She whipped back to look at them, a manic glint in her eyes. “Clearly, since I’m the best at this, I’ll go last to give you all a chance at it before I sweep in.” She brandished the controller. “Who wants first?”
After half an hour of a cycle of spawning, charging into a military base via ramping car, dying, and repeating like the world’s worst version of Valhalla, the controller finally ended up in Alix’s hands. She had spent the entire time smugly commenting on how each person messed up, detailing what they should have done. The next person would take that into account and fail at a completely different obstacle. With a knowing smirk, she turned to everyone else and said, “Now watch the master at work.”
The first step was to get a car, which everyone had accomplished in true GTA fashion by standing in the middle of the road and carjacking whoever stopped to avoid hitting them. Alix stepped onto the road boldly, an admirable start. Instead of slowing, however, she was hit full speed and sent flying by wonky physics. Immediately the screen turned black and white and the text ‘Wasted’ appeared on the screen as her character sailed through the air. There was a moment of stunned silence before everyone (sans Alix) absolutely lost it. She didn’t even look back to hand Marinette the controller, simply thrusting it behind her. After a few more rounds, Alix’s as unlucky as always, the person who ended up winning the challenge was none other than Rose. After a celebratory rampage, she closed the game and they were free to move on to Mario Party.
Looking back, Marinette couldn’t remember much about the two (or was it three?) matches they played, probably because each match had been about an hour long. The turns ran together after a while. They passed by in a blur of competitiveness, fully absorbed with the friendly and eventually not-so-friendly banter. At the end all she could say was that she didn’t win. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Mylene took that honor for at least one of the matches, having had the most practice with the minigames and the layout of the maps.
The change from Mario Party to Dark Souls was as sudden as it was jarring, trading bright, cheerful colors for the bleak wastes of a ruined kingdom. It didn’t take long for Marinette to figure out what Juleka had been talking about; immediately, Rose became hyper focused on the game as she laid in front of the television on her stomach, tongue sticking out in concentration as she deftly ducked and rolled away from enemy lunges. Marinette watched carefully, but the first time she saw Rose get hit was about an hour in, long after the fight with the first boss.
When she finally put down the controller, the only thing the rest of them could do was applaud.
Which left the last game of the day, Juleka’s horror game. Fitting, since by this point it was later in the evening, though not quite midnight. Marinette remembered even less of this game, at least partly because of how often she excused herself to the kitchen for any number of excuses - wanting everyone to have full drinks, extra snacks, stretch her legs, whatever she could do. Horror… not her favorite genre of movie or game.
At least I’m not alone, she thought while eating some cookies with Mylene in the kitchen. If the danger was real, it was much easier to handle for reasons even Marinette herself couldn’t wrap her head around. By the time they finally out of excuses, everyone was getting tired and they agreed to turn off the games and go to sleep in the living room. They managed it, even if Alix kept deliberately annoying everyone by asking random inane questions at all hours. Marinette could practically hear Alix’s smirk as she lobbed at pillow at her face. But eventually even Alix got tired and fell asleep, a fitting end to an eventful day.
---------------------
When Marinette managed to drag herself out of bed, two things became apparent - one, the sun was unfortunately up and preventing her from drifting back to sleep and two, everyone else was gone. It was this second fact that caused Marinette to actually get up rather than stay wrapped up on the floor for a little while longer.
“Hey, girl,” Alya quirked an eyebrow over her toast as Marinette walked into the kitchen. “Pleasant dreams, Sleeping Beauty?”
Deciding that the smell was delightful, Marinette elected to make herself some toast too. “Mhmm.” Once she had her breakfast in front of her, she asked, “Everybody else leave?”
“Yup! They’ve got early plans.” She winked. “But don’t worry, you won’t be getting rid of me that easily. We still have some investigative work to do, if you remember.”
Playing along, Marinette asked, “What’s the case?”
“‘Shadow At Water’s Edge.’”
“Sounds spooky. Thankfully, we can count on each other.” She swallowed the last of her toast and added, “Let’s get to it then. After you, detective.”
The two rushed upstairs, Marinette eager to continue her well deserved break in excellent company. It felt good take a break in fiction - reality was far too strange a place for her anyway.

Reviewing Brea's Stuff - BTS Soulmate AU (2/2)
PART 2/2 (Rap Monster, Jin, J-Hope, Suga)
Tumblr media
HI! \(OwO)/
I want to draw ya'll's attention to one of my friends: @jimin-jungshook-over-literalbae. She's a k-pop reaction/scenario/text writer, and not only have I missed her as a friend so much during my long hiatus, I've also missed her writing. Thankfully, there's a lot for me to catch up on! She asked me to give my opinions on her BTS AUs, and with her permission, I've turned my reviews it into a bit of advertising! If you wanna read the stuff I did, ya'll don't have to scroll super far to find it all. I'll be reviewing each AU from a Reader's Standing (silly, sometimes improper sentences; sO MUCH swearing; caps lock) and from a Critic's Standing (second reading; at least one paragraph).
Yes, that was copy-pasted, but you never know, someone might stumble onto this and be wondering why I'm doing it.
Let's get into this again! >o<
—Faith
Rap Monster (Reader's Standing):
Back-up back stage manager Y/N while the official person is sick, interesting
'His voice, though muffled by the door, is attractive and masculine'—Yes, yes it is.
Shaking hands with soulmate warmth/fire, ooh, wow, that's really cool! I love that, Brea.
aND IT LINGERS
tHEN IT FAdes
'You could feel when he was getting closer, that warmth growing within you'—Is Y/N therefore hot or cold? Hot, definitely hot.
Yes, Namjoon is gorgeous.
Y/N is secretly OCD while sweeping, I just know it.
Fated finding of Namjoon's phone is fated.
Intensifying level of heat to a bonfire was really nice to read, good metaphors, ooh.
He backed Y/N into the dressing table liKE A MONSTER. Yeah all right I need to chill. Brea, do you have some water I could drink, right quick?
*Oh no there's a typo, it's 'breathe' instead of 'breath'. I'm fine. This is OK. :D*
Ooh, Namjoon sensing where Y/N is with heat is such a cool thing!! I love that so much?!
'His fingers burn against the cool skin of your cheek'—*Hisses to add affect* OK wow that was hot. >:)
Y/N confessing their attraction to Namjoon is a win
tHAT KISS WAS LITERALLY HOT AND I LOVED THAT SEQUENCE BREA YOU'RE SO GOOD AT THAT?!
Ooh yes, slightly possessive Namjoon is treat
Evenings spent together? Yes to a classic romance trope.
Fire becomes uncomfortable when Y/N or Namjoon is upset and Namjoon even dispelled a situation, bless that twist
Namjoon's little speech at the end was so beautiful and ugh
Also thanks for the small kisses across the knuckles and—
Oh god it's 'breathe' instead of 'breath' again. Brea I know autocorrect is a bitch, you're not to blame, just leave the typos. XDD
Rap Monster (Critic's Standing):
The scenario for this AU was interesting, and how Brea made sure to remember Y/N's job throughout the story. This review is going to be far shorter because I'm literally taken away by how fun and romantic this was? Fire is such a classic writing tool, and Brea used it so well, in this AU, I just loved it so much. I'm pretty sure this will be my favourite, when I'm done reading Jin's and J-Hope's, 'cause I'm sitting here and I can't find anything I would want to improve on this scenario, in terms of how it played out. Brea, this was perfect.
Jin (Reader's Standing):
I wouldn't be just sitting outside relaxing, I'd be on the look out for sp00ders.
But good solid first paragraph, in other words
Our boys are here and they're disturbing Y/N oh dear
Scared by Seokjin, oh Y/N, he wouldn't hurt a fly. ;w;
Ooh. Soothing soulmate feeling, that's so nice, it's like, the opposite of Namjoon's. Wait, that was your plan, wasn't it? 'Cause it worked, I'm so blown away by how nice this is, so far.
Wait 'figures over yours' Brea you missed the word 'stands'. You might want to fix that, some time. No pressure, relax, my girl. Wait, that was awkward for me, probably for you too, I'm sorry for being a millennial. XDD
Very surreal paragraph as Seokjin helps Y/N stand
Breeze from Seokjin disappears and suddenly Y/N feels stressed again, poor Y/N. :(
oF COURSE IT WAS TAEHYUNG
Good puppy for apologizing, he's so soft.
Yes puppy smiles that blessed my afternoon thank you Brea
Yes, Kim Seokjin is alluring.
And yes he has a beautiful face
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA he knows right away when you hold hands!!!!!!!!!
Sorry for the amount of !'s but wow that was so romantic and I loved it
'I can't leave the children unattended'—Agreed, they're all children
Actor Seokjin is accurate, too
Heart emoji was cute oh my Lord
Good summary of Jin in one paragraph, demonstrates what Y/N learned about him
'His talk form'—EY YO BREA, I FOUND ANOTHER TYPO
He dresses so softly though, ah
Loud laugh and mischievous, yep
Feeding Y/N food, thank you Brea, oh my gosh it's all so cute and just ugh
Aw they fell asleep on the couch
THAT ENDING THO 'PRINCESS' MY LORD SO ROMANTIC SEOKJIN YOU SCALLY-WAG
Jin (Critic's Standing):
This one had such a sweet aesthetic to it, it was so Seokjin, I enjoyed it so much! The guys messing around and disturbing Y/N's rest was on point, and Seokjin shielding Y/N from a baseball ball (try saying that ten times fast) was so princely of him. Timid Y/N was cute, too, and Seokjin again being a prince and helping them stand up. Not to mention the introduction of the calming wind soulmate cue that Y/N and Seokjin have, and how he immediately knows Y/N is his soulmate, that was just so... soap opera-esque, so well done and I loved it. Also, Taehyung apologizing and then smiling like the puppy he is was a bonus.
The first date was fun and pleasant to read, and as I said in the Reader's Standing, I really liked how you included things about Seokjin that Y/N know that ARMY already knows, it was a very nice and natural addition. Jin feeding Y/N was also a win, and the two watching movies and cuddling, then falling asleep on the couch, and Seokjin calling Y/N 'princess' before he left was just so smooth. I'd have to place this one as my current third, after Jungkook's and Namjoon's, who's still in first. Such a romantic and casual scenario, Brea, well done!
J-Hope (Reader's Standing):
Y/N is super busy in this one, hoo boy
Drink carriers are also called cup trays! I love how words can be called different words. :D
OK I need to drink some water hold on... yeah I'm good now, damn I'm getting tired of reading so much romance, my emotions aren't used to this much softness.
Bright red haired J-Hope is great thank you
Love hurts, hell yeah :D
Y/N works for advertising, neat
Ooh look, it's 3/4 of the hyung line!
Dancer Hoseok is accurate as hecc
Realistic company, very nice
'You might be blinded as if the sun were to glint off that smile'—Well, he is our sunshine.
Hello, 'taking a deep breathe' typo, nice to see you again.
MATCHING FLAME TATTOOS COOL
And on opposite arms ooh
Whoa dang that was a long bow and dang Y/N straightened him that was a nice touch
Ye boys and girls it's a dinner date
The tattoo reminds Y/N that this isn't a dream, good catch there Brea
Hoseok admitting that Y/N looks cute was indeed cute
SHINE HOSEOK SHINE oh boy that car ride would have been fun
SURPRISE JIMIN IS A CUTE SURPRISE THANKS BREA
All the boys are here bless you Brea
Cute kiss is cute
And he kisses back of course, aww
AWEUROUEWI Hoseok's hands through Y/N's hair
And 'breathe' again, BREA THIS IS RIDICULOUS I'M TRYING SO HARD NOT TO LAUGH
Such a strong ending, Lord, bless this AU
J-Hope (Critic's Standing):
Y/N in this scenario is so relatable, they're a hard worker and—oh wait, there's Y/N's soulmate and it burns again. I'm serious, I'm not used to reading this much romance, I'm a little tired, want to take a nap but MUST FINISH, c'mon Faith, you've only got one left. That meeting J-Hope on 'accident' (it was fate, we all know it was fate) went together so well, it was very pleasant to read. Then they formally met and Y/N brought him to their office to review the proposal for footage, and Hoseok prompted Y/N to discover their matching flame tattoos, except each was on a different arm, and I thought that was a cool little feature. Not to mention that Hoseok bows low and for a prolonged amount of time before Y/N makes him stand because they think they're equals, that was a really nice touch. The car ride was fun to read, I could totally see Hoseok doing that. And we see the guys again—Jimin first, 'cause that puppy was so excited to see his hyung, apparently—and they seemed to have a really nice time. The fluff at the end was so sweet, and I just... it was so cute, I loved this one. Wouldn't change a thing.
Suga (Reader's Standing):
LAST ONE THANK GOD
This one is probably going to dethrone Jimin as my bias someday because BOY IS SUGA R00D BUT CUTE AND IT FRUSTRATES AND PLEASES ME SO MUCH ugh, I love men
What a relaxing first paragraph...
Good reflexes, whoever saved Y/N
Ooh, icy cold soulmate. That suits Yoongi a lot, somehow.
'staring at him hand at shock'—When the 's' is an 'm' and you can't help but chuckle.
The 'hot' finger across the ice was honestly breathtaking to read, wow
He said 'holy shit' lmao thank you Brea I almost laughed out loud that would have been the end of me having a laptop XDD
WHOA POV CHANGE WHEN Y/N SAYS THEIR FIRST THING BREA YOU REALLY GOT INTO THIS ONE DIDN'T YOU XDDD
Hoseok is here!! Hi sunshine!!
Casual phone number giving is casual and I liked it
GUMMY SMILE THANK YOU BREA
This one is aesthetic too wow
Aw Y/N and Yoongi are both nervous about the whole soulmate thing that's so cute
'His outfit is casually sexy'—Bless you Brea that's such a concept
Speaking of smiles that pull at heart strings, that paragraph pulled at my heart strings.
Very pleasant and casual conversation between Y/N and Yoongi was really nice
The ice spreads oh my Lord that's so cool
The ice also might melt into Y/N's skin wow
Hello Jungkook and Taehyung nice to see you again
Awkward with words Taehyung and then apologizing real fast Taehyung was funny
'I'm glad I'm wrong'—Brea where is the 'I was'??
I thought the dog was Holly but nope it's Yeontan, my bad
Lmao at Yoongi's reaction to Jungkook's comment on how Y/N makes Yoongi happy
Soft kiss to the cheek garners more cool chills, nice
Dinner and movie with Yoongi was very relaxing. Uwu
Literally a very cool kiss, damn
WHY IS THERE NO MORE I'm a little sad now
Suga (Critic's Standing):
Never mind Namjoon's, this one was my favourite. I love how their meeting was so laid-back and romantic but had that literally icy cool soulmate twist to it, I absolutely loved this scenario. It was just a little more sweeter than the others because of how you portrayed Yoongi, and everything he did with Y/N. It was nice to see Hoseok, Taehyung and Jungkook again, and we even got an appearance by Yeontan! The way the ice spread and melted was so pleasing to read, and the little dinner and movie date Y/N and Yoongi had at his apartment was cute. I'm glad this was the one Brea started with, it was so so good!
I really hope Brea does more of these. I'd personally love to see Got7 or Monsta X (though Monsta X a little more, because Wonho has taken over my life). That's it, I'm out of here. >w< Go follow Brea. Do it.

hmmm 22 with hornets?
this was the baby froot’s second favorite ship growing up (fusionship was the otp at the time) so i am always am happy to contribute hornetshipping to the fandom
#22: a kiss in a rush of adrenaline
“Crowler is such an ass for doing this.”
Bastion, though not given to speaking ill of professors, was inclined to agree. “Being promoted to Chancellor has certainly inflated his ego beyond repair,”
Alexis leaned her elbows on the seat in front of her, the freshman occupant nervously looking over their shoulder and scooting forward in the chair. The arena buzzed with anticipation, everyone speculating on who would be dueling in the first official match of the year. Bastion remembered being in Jaden’s dorm room, listening to him talk about the party in their room tonight, the ‘squad’ as Jaden was so fond of calling it, planning to squeeze into their broom closet of a room and drink until the sun came up. Chazz had busted down the door, looking even more irate than usual, screaming about being roped into a duel with some snot-nosed, wet-behind-the-ears freshmen that were clearly beneath The Chazz.
Bastion thought it was all rather adorable. When the black-haired boy was angry–more than his constant simmer of anger, because if it was the default state was it really worth mentioning?–he blushed the lightest shade of pink and spit out swear words that weren’t words per se, but left no one in any doubt of the sentiment behind them. When Bastion had dueled Chazz freshman year, had been on the receiving end of one of those rages, it was impossible to take him seriously.
He was just too cute.
“If Zane were here still Crowler would’ve pulled his ass into publicity stunts instead of actually teaching him,” Alexis laughed, rolling her eyes, picking at her nails. “We’re the top dueling school in the world, why do we need all of this publicity?”
“Perhaps the fact our academic programs are gaining more attention than our dueling program,”
“Well fuck, that’s good isn’t it, B?” Alexis snorted. “I’m tired of friends from high school getting up my ass about going to Card Game College,”
“I don’t disagree. Remember who’s in charge here though,” Bastion watched as the seats filled. It was obvious who was a freshman because they sorted themselves into clumps of color, unaware that the dorm hierarchy was little more than a formality to most people. “Chazz will certainly provide a good show, no doubt. That’s why Crowler must have picked him,”
Though Chazz Princeton claimed to be no-nonsense, his theatrics when it came to, well everything in his life, belied him. The yelling, the trash-talking, the self-given nicknames, the chant–all perfect for the new chancellor’s half-baked plan to bring press to Duel Academy, not to mention his family name always raised eyebrows and turned heads. And Chazz, for all of his ranting that this was “totally lame,” had parked himself in front of the toothpaste-spattered mirror, stole Jaden’s hairbrush, and after painstakingly ridding it of what he called “Slacker DNA,” preened in front of the mirror, making sure every strand of his hair in place.
“Stupid, stupid Crowler,” he’d muttered, picking at a pimple on his cheek despite Bastion’s insistence he should leave it alone. “He doesn’t–he doesn’t even know what fucking cameras to use, which side is my good side! I bet he didn’t even get a real opponent,”
Bastion, though he barely was able to reign in the impulse, did not take the opportunity to tell Chazz he looked exquisite from any side.
Pining was a strange feeling, Bastion reflected as Chazz sprayed himself with air freshener. Or rather, he held his arms out and instructed Jaden to spray him, turning in place, smelling more like alcohol than Pumpkin Spice but better than anything else in the dorm. His black coat swished as he turned, and Bastion enjoyed the way his eyes fell closed, the way he stood up onto his tiptoes to twirl, akin to a sarcastic dueling Disney princess, not that Chazz would appreciate the comparison. Bastion had felt bad as soon as the thought crossed his mind, but he chalked it up to the fact the brain chemicals that caused one to feel ‘love’ were messing with him.
Those same chemicals were causing his heart to beat faster and excitement to bubble up as Chazz, or The Chazz as he so preferred, strutted into the duel arena, chin held high and his typical scowl on his face. On the other side of Alexis, he could hear Jaden leading the cheer of “Chazz it up,” finding himself soon cheering as well. The group of freshmen in the row in front of them looked over their shoulders, sharing confused glances with each other at how the majority of the student body seemed to know the chant.
“Look at that,” Alexis stopped chanting to lean over to Bastion and point at the person walking in to the other side of the duel arena. “He’s so small–is he really old enough to be at college?”
“Syrus is only five foot two, it’s not unheard of,”
“Syrus also gets handed the kids menu when we go out,” Alexis said. “And at least Syrus got the proper uniform size. That kid’s drowning in his damn trenchcoat,”
Bastion only ever seen three people wear Obelisk blue trenchcoats in his time at the academy, and one of them had swapped theirs out for a ratty black one that had gotten him in trouble several times before the professors realized he could give a flying fuck about the dress code. Zane and Atticus, the top students at the school before their graduation this past spring, had made trenchcoats synonymous with high level dueling ability, which was ridiculous because they had never set out to do that. Bastion could attest, as the number-one ranked student (academically, that is, Jaden was the best for dueling of course), that a trenchcoat would not have helped him. And it certainly wasn’t doing any favors for this runt of an opponent, who was surreptitiously looking down at his feet, making sure he didn’t step on the hem.
“Chazz it the fuck up!” Jaden jumped up, waving around a Duel Academy water bottle that most certainly did not contain water.
The Chazz saw his roommate–actually, plural now because Syrus was leaning heavily against Jaden’s side, taking a sip from the same water bottle and slurring the words of the cheer–sticking up his middle finger with a glare so intense Bastion would’ve shrunk under it. Jaden laughed, of course, and Syrus shouted obscenities that Bastion never thought he would hear out of his mild-mannered friend.
“Sit down, you slackers,”
The phrase was so distinctly Chazz that Bastion was surprised the vice chancellor was now speaking, his voice booming through the microphone, contrasting his small size. He was also wearing a trenchcoat. Bastion would have to write some formula detailing the height of a person (or lack thereof) and how likely they were to wear such a ridiculous thing.
Chazz would be excluded from this formula, of course, because Bastion was almost as fond of his coat as he was of Chazz. He couldn’t have his feelings taint his findings.
“The trash-talking is limited to the participants. If certain members of the audience can’t keep their mouths shut for the duration of the duel, I will personally see they are punished,” Bonaparte continued, nearly tripping over the cord of the microphone.
Jaden and Syrus sat down, but that didn’t stop Syrus from much more quietly saying choice words.
Whatever was in that bottle, Bastion might need to ask for some.
“Welcome to our first official match of the school year: Chazz Princeton versus incoming freshman Reginald Van Howell–the only freshman to make it in to Obelisk blue this year and the pride of his dueling prep school!”
“That just means he’s a carbon copy of Chazz at the beginning of last year,” Alexis rolled her eyes and crossed her legs, leaning back in her seat like she was already bored. “Chazz is gonna wipe the floor with this little shit,”
“He better,” Jaden popped in. “if he loses I owe the guy down the hall a hundred bucks,”
“You don’t have a hundred dollars to your name, Jay,” Alexis said.
“All the more reason for Chazzy-Spazzy to win,” Jaden said, tipping more of god-knows-what type of alcoholic beverage down his throat. “That’s gonna be our beer money for tonight,”
This time last year before he knew how incorrigible Jaden Yuki was, Bastion would have admonished him for betting money he didn’t have. He didn’t waste his breath this time. “If Chazz wins, be sure to buy the higher-quality liquor from your supplier,”
“Bastion, why do you always have to make it sound like I’m buying heroin or something? Also I totally will because I don’t wanna hear his constant bitching tonight,” Jaden sat back in his seat. “Duel’s starting, duel’s starting–here’s hopin’ I didn’t just fuck us all over tonight!”
Chazz drew his first card, and Bastion was hopeful as well. Hopeful that Chazz would win not so Jaden wouldn’t land himself in trouble with whoever was this year’s designated bookie for the Slifer dorm, though it would be preferable for their alcohol fund to increase by a hundred dollars, but so he could see the elusive Happy Chazz, akin in rarity to Bigfoot. He would smile, a genuine one, not a sarcastic or mischevious smile that Bastion also loved, and he would laugh and not complain about Jaden hugging him and sometimes, just sometimes when Bastion would congratulate him, the black haired boy would say ‘thanks, Bas.’ That nickname, which was used my all members of the friend group (with the exception of Alexis who could never get a picture of a fish out of her mind when she heard it), sounded different coming from Chazz, made his heart swell and his brain short-circuit, and he would be lying if he said he weren’t desperate to hear it.
The duel was a quick one. Jaden only had time to make it through three cycles of “Chazz It Up” before Reginald’s life points hit zero, the freshman looking like his parents had just been murdered in front of him given the horror on his face at losing to a Slifer. Bastion rather enjoyed watching freshmen learn that the colors one wore didn’t always directly correlate to their dueling abilities, but he was now more focused on following his friends out of the crowd to get to Chazz, congratulate him on his victory, and maybe, just maybe satisfy his selfish desires to see Chazz smile.
Jaden and Syrus were already embracing Chazz from both sides, laughing and wobbling on inebriated legs, Jaden shouting that he was buying them Goose tonight and Chazz agreeing with him instead of shoving him off. Alexis shooed them off of Chazz long enough to give him a one-armed hug.
Chazz hadn’t seemed to notice Bastion yet. As the Ra stepped toward him, ready to offer his own congratulations, the black-haired boy looked over toward him, his eyes widening the slightest bit as he ducked out of Alexis’s hold, closing the distance between them, smiling. Bastion was confused for a moment, his words never making it out as the Slifer’s arms closed around his neck, lips smashing ungracefully against his.
Bastion had not even allowed himself to fantasize about kissing Chazz. He had only recently come to terms with the fact he’d been pining for the better part of a year, and it would probably take until graduation for him to allow himself to consider the possibility that Chazz would return his feelings. Now, as Chazz’s arms tightened around his neck, his lips moving against Bastions, skinny frame pressed against Bastion’s muscular one, he had to consider the possibility that he was hallucinating. It was possible that something in Jaden’s dorm room had been left over the summer and rotted to the point toxic fumes were permeating the space, infecting his brain.
Determined to see if he was hallucinating, Bastion forced his arms to relax the slightest bit from how they’d been tensed up in surprise, he hugged the black-haired boy to his chest, squeezing the slightest bit too tightly on accident, a gasp breaking the kiss as Chazz caught his breath.
They were both standing there, in the middle of the duel arena, with hundreds of pairs of eyes staring at them.
“Uh, um–good job,” Bastion said eloquently.
“Yeah, uh, thanks,” Chazz said, face bright pink, the remnants of a smile on his face.
“God fucking damn it!”
The shout came from somewhere to Bastion’s left. An irate Slifer boy at the top of the stadium seats shouted again. “Do you know how much fucking money you cost all of us?”
“You bitches owe me twenty-five dollars apiece!” Jaden laughed, nearly falling over.
Chazz’s face went from serene to incensed, pushing away from Bastion to chew out Jaden for placing bets on his love life.
At least they’d have even more money to spend on the party tonight.

Secrets - Part 1
Word Count: 3,712
Warnings: None mostly fluff.
Panic. The emotion gripping me as I all but sprinted from behind the bar and into the ladies room. I couldn’t believe what was happening. Being alone with him in my environment- his smell, his sounds, his skin, his hands, thighs- everything made any self-control evaporate into thin air. I was unraveling.
Two long years since I’d set eyes on him. This man had a hold on me unlike anything I’d ever experienced. Now he was here and I was so stunned- I ran. His ghost still haunted me like a secret you can’t tell.
I felt like such an idiot. Facing myself in the cracked mirror of our dingy employee restroom I rubbed my hands under the faucet splashing water across my cheeks.
A light knock came at the door. “You okay in there?”
“I’m fine.” Embarrassed. Stupid. Flustered. But Fine.
I stared, disheartened at myself in the mirror. “What the hell was I going to do now?” This was my job. I had to go back; smile, pretend, sling some drinks and make rent. Whispered dirty things, winks, grins, napkins full of phone numbers with broken promises was expected as a bartender. Give the experience and make them love you.
Having him walk through the door was never part of the plan. He is not the plan. A kaleidoscope of flashbacks were scattered in my mind. “Fuck, shit, shit, shit!” I slammed my hand down on the cracked ceramic sink.
I cracked the door and stepped out hoping that whoever I replied to was long gone.
Leaning against the wall there he was, waiting for me. Gorgeous and dripping, of course, he had to be even better looking than I remember. He couldn’t go from 19 to 21 and not be every woman’s fantasy now, a fucking international pop-star. I could not mortify myself in front of a less famous ugly- ex. No, definitely not.
I avoided eye contact. “I’m not fine. But I will be.” I hesitated before continuing.
Surely he knew how bad he broke me. He knew that some scars don’t heal. He had heard the stories from his friends by now.
Lifting my head, his smile made me nervous. Not the kind of nervous where I’m going to grab my mace from my purse when a patron gets a little too fresh and waits for me in the parking lot after work. No, his smile was cocky and hit me in the knees amongst other places. He made me nervous.
“How you been Shawn?” He didn’t need to know that I’d woke up at midnight to buy a copy of his most recent album as garbage men clanged and newsstands opened. He didn’t need to know that I cried for weeks after he broke my heart in his driveway with four simple words only to never hear from him again.
“I’ve been good, are you okay, you don’t seem okay?” Shawn’s eyes are distracting. I close my eyes and I’m back on the tattered couch of my apartment watching him perform on some music awards show. But after a blink I’m still here standing in front of him in my cut-off tied t-shirt, jean shorts with black ripped fish nets, combat boots, dark lips, cat lined eyes and messy blonde top knot. A far cry from the girl he knew. I’d changed and I knew it, he knew it.
I shoved past him, walking briskly toward my bar, determined to forge forward.
“Shawn you already know you fucked up, let’s not do this.” My supersize nerves were camping out in my body, but I would be damned if I would let him know it. Because if I think about what might happen in the next few hours - if I let him in even an inch then I’ll burst with anxiety.
I feel a lump rising in my throat. I swallow it down while my emotions live close to the edge. All I need is that trigger and the tears that dwell beneath the surface will bubble up and roll like gritty sandpaper down my cheeks.
Shawn is so good looking now that my co-bartender Melissa once called him fucking lickable when she was checking out a magazine picture of him online. Of course, she knows nothing of my past with him. Now he was here and our past was about to collide like a freight train.
“Wait, Kameron, wait a fucking minute, Jesus!” Shawn’s two strides caught up to my ten and I felt his long fingers grasp my elbow and turn me toward him.
Shawn is looking at me with reverence, his touch sending shivers down my spine. I wanted to be adored by someone, but it can’t be Shawn. Not after crawling back from the abyss I found myself in the last time he decided he was done with me.
“No we’re not doing this again.” I find my voice to verbally shout what I want to say but won’t, that he can’t walk all over my heart and leave me bewildered and confused when his next tour starts. “This isn’t a game I’m playing with you anymore Shawn.”
“Actually, I never play and tell,” he teased. Now I clutch my hands to my side even tighter as I suppress a sarcastic smirk. “I’m fucking thrilled for you,” I quickly add.
He winces as he slides his hand off my elbow, clearly contrite. “I’m actually really sorry about everything and how I handled it all.” Shawn hides his hands in his pockets head hung low.
Suddenly I’m laughing, not because I want to hurt him. It’s because I realize that this is in essence is the final phase of a breakup. The denial, the begging, the pathetic tender long goodbye “but I thought you loved me” pleas, whether it’s public or private, it feels the same. No one ever really knew about me and Shawn except for our friends, so I suffered in silence while he mended on a stage. Yet, here in this moment, there is no more argument, no more pointless debate I would never win and emerge victorious, the entire universe begins with the words I’m sorry: closure.
Shawn stands here in front of me. The crowd melts around me and I’m colder than ice. This is what we are now. I’ve moved on.
I decide quickly what my next move will be. Grabbing his shoulders I hug him and his cologne wafts through my nostrils. My palms start sweating and butterflies take flight in my belly, nothing more than aftershocks. I pull away as Shawn’s long arms squeeze me back and he buries his head in my shoulder. I pull away with more force and push an errant strand of hair off my cheek, then answer.
“Shawn, I live my life now based on my positive decisions. When I look back at the things in my life that really hurt sometimes the easiest thing to do is forgive.”
I mean it, truly, just now, I have forgiven the 19 year-old boy who broke my heart. He stands there feet melted into the ground as the bitter but blunt words hit him like a wounded animal. I take the opportunity to walk away with my pride, head high, the lioness.
(Hours later)
Shawn is so ridiculously handsome that it’s almost not fair. Now that I’m back behind my bar, in my element, on my stage, he watches me from the distance of his roped off corner. Melissa cornered me at the trash can as soon as I lifted the access gate. I told her only what I wanted her to know of course. Shawn wasn’t helping me keep the gossip from reaching maximum peak.
Time passes in the frantic pace of pickle backs, buttery nipples and lemon drops. I’m at least 3 deep at every corner. My memory puts Shawn aside as I pull them in, I make memories for my patrons and let them believe I’m the best friend they never had.
Turning around I’m disarmed to see Shawn and Geoff standing in front of me, looking over our beer list. Shawn motions me over and I lean down to hear him over the now thumping bass beat of some familiar dirty rap song. “Is there anyone waiting for you back home?” I laugh, a truly self-deprecating one. I have to, really. There had been no one romantic since Shawn. There had been men, but no one permanent. “Definitely, no, nobody waits for me.” I bite back.
Its then that I notice the familiar glazed over look I’ve seen on so many men here. I lean forward because I want to torture him and show more cleavage. I already worship at the altar of the genius who invented a push-up bra. Agent Provocateur has nothing on me.
Shawn licks his lips and burning desire is present in his eyes. “Kam”, he begins slowly, too drunk, but also clearly enjoying the taste of my name in his mouth as if he’s trying it on, rolling it around on his tongue like a cherry. “I am the biggest idiot in the world because you loved me wildly, crazily and passionately. I fucked it all up so bad.”  Words tumble off his lips like verbal diarrhea. I take a deep breathe, reassuring myself that I can deliver what Shawn needs. “You don’t want me tonight Shawn, you’re just lonely and drunk.”
“Nope, not drunk, wrecked for you,” Shawn stutters. His eyes blink ever so slowly another tell-tale sign an observant bartender recognizes. This is the longest conversation I have had with Shawn in two years. I can see that he has developed this uncanny ability to hop from witticism to raw and very honest emotional insight. It’s making him even more attractive if that’s possible.
I push back from the bar and swivel my hips around to the side, grabbing two stout beers from the cooler below. Twisting the cap I push them across in friendship. “Tell you what, those two are on me”, I say as I walk to ball cap Joe one of my favorite customers. “I’ll call you tomorrow, is your number still the same”, I shout.
Because I don’t know how I can begin to trust Shawn again I’m not so eager to agree to just have him come over. I’m pretty sure that’s where that conversation was headed. This could be especially complicated when the ex is an international pop-start and flirty and when I’m already entertaining after-hours thoughts about him. I’m in desperate need. My gauge is so far out of whack that I don’t know what’s up or down anymore.  What good could possibly come from any friendship with Shawn Mendes?
Next Day
Turns out I didn’t have to call Shawn. He managed to get my number from Matt and sent me a drawn out apology text for his unforeseen interruption at my place of work begging me to please meet him for coffee that afternoon.
I put my books away on my desk and take a quick shower. Twenty minutes later, I’m staring at my bed littered with outfits I have tried on and rejected. This is just a coffee, no big deal. It’s definitely not a date with an insanely hot ex-boyfriend who’s a popstar treated like teenage royalty. Whichever outfit I chose next will be the winning one. I reach for my favorite black jeans, an intentionally distressed torn grey sweater that’s soft on my skin and my chucks. It’s very me and with just a quick swish of powder, blush, mascara and lip balm on my bee stung lips I’m ready to go. I grab my coat and bag, head downstairs and take an Uber to our determined location.
When I arrive I swipe to pay and head into the little coffee shop painted emerald green tucked into the corner of a building. It’s a little out of the way, but I figured it would be a better location for less potential fan sightings. Shawn and I agreed to meet at three o’clock and I am only ten minutes late, so it feels like I’m on time.
He’s already here. Damn, I arrive nearly on time and I’m still late. Then again, Shawn was always the type to be on time, hold doors, and rise when I came in the room. Shawn was very chivalrous.
I walk up and he clicks to lock his phone and pushes it deep into his pocket of his $250 designer black denim skinny jeans. Damn he looked good. The olive green shirt he is wearing makes his eyes look hazel. Standing to give me a barely there kiss on the cheek my eyes flutter closed for the briefest moment at the feel of his soft lips near me.
I restrain myself and tuck away my emotions even if the sensation feels so good to me.
“Let me take your coat?” Shawn offers as he automatically slides it off my shoulders. I feel his hand gently graze the back of my neck. I decided last minute to pull my hair into a high pony. His fingers send shock waves down my spine. He folds my coat and lays it over the chair, waits for me to sit and finally pushes his long limbs into the seat next to me.
“So thank you for fitting me into your busy schedule, even though I wish you would have at least bought me dinner before taking me home”, Shawn joked.
I laugh. “Nice try. But we’re not there yet.”
He reaches across the table to clasp my hand in his, and my breath catches. He squeezes my hand three times reassuringly and the barest form of touch from him is dizzying. Maybe it’s because it’s been so long since I’ve been this physically close to him and had him touch my hand, but I pull away like he’s burned me. He places his hand on his lap and I miss it instantly.
“So where should we start Mendes.” I chatter anxiously.
Shawn takes a big gasp of air. His brow furrows and he wipes his palms anxiously on his jeans. I can tell that whatever comes next is weighing heavily on his mind.
“We could start with I’m a fucking fool. I got scared. I didn’t know how to have you and a career at the same time. So I shoved you away and spent the last two years living with that regret ever since.”
“Where is the tape recorder”, I laugh nervously. My eyes dart back and forth from his face to my hands.
Looking around the room anxiously I scan to see if anyone has their phone out. “I could so take down your career in one second if the story of us ever leaked out. You know the whole internet’s boyfriend thing and all.”
Shawn smirks, wagging a finger at me playfully.
“This guy, the guy you’re sitting in front of, he isn’t a pop-star, you know that right?”
Swallowing, here he goes again racking up more points in his favor.
“Because I can tell I’m making you a little nervous and I just want you to know it’s me, Shawn apologizing to you, meaning every single fucking word of regret. So let’s grab some coffee eh?”
We sit and chat about old times. We remember fond memories of public park scandalous rendezvous. I hold up a hand and stop him as he starts to recall the juicy parts with a mischievous glint in his eye. Slowly as each minute passes and Shawn discarded the beanie he was wearing we’re drawing more eyes on us, but Shawn doesn’t seem to care. In fact, the more people that begin to notice us the more unaffected by it all he is.
Shawn will excuse himself for a few minutes to take a few selfies and then slide back into the conversation like he never left. We did this for almost two hours. I tell him that I fucking loved his first three albums and I can’t wait to hear what he does next. He admits that he wrote a few songs about us.
Eventually he leans in closer across the table, looks me straight in the eyes and when he does that my resolve starts to weaken because his eyes are so beautiful and he doesn’t break my gaze. “Do you have any idea how long Ive waited for this moment. How many ways I have played this dialogue back and forth in my brain?”
All I know about this moment is my body is buzzing, alive with possibilities. The exact opposite of the chill demeanor I had in the bar last night. Something shifts in Shawn’s expression too. His eyes, which I remember from 19 as playful and twinkling are now darker with an intensity to them. Neither of us says anything, and the electric quiet makes my blood turn hot. I don’t want a single thing to ruin this moment. Just as fate would be a young fan tugs at Shawn’s shirt, she can’t be more than 7 years old.
Whatever spell I was about to succumb to is broken. Holy Shit, that was close. I reach for my coat and bag before Shawn can stop me.
“Thai or Sushi for dinner,” Shawn winks.
I smile at him, giving him a flirty tilt. “You’re presumptuous.”
“Optimistic”, he counters with just enough swagger that tells me he hasn’t lost a damn thing in 2 years.
Shawn does that thing again – where he reaches for my hand, clasping his on top of mine. I’m suddenly aware of the pressure he is gently putting on my wrist, the small ridges from callouses on his otherwise smooth palm, not doubt from countless hours spent perfecting his craft. His skin feels hot on my skin. The taste of his lips would be deadly. I’m dying for him to slide his fingers through mine like old times but I can’t go back on this rollercoaster.
I slowly rise from my seat and Shawn follows me out of the quaint coffeehouse. I reach up to place my hands on his shoulders. He’s way taller than me. I catch the faint scent of his cologne again and I’m so tempted to lean in and inhale deeply. But I do resist.
But the look in Shawn’s eyes is full of hunger and then I feel the softest touch on my hair. He’s fingering a strand and I am so far gone that I’m not sure what to do next. All I know is I’m leaning in closer to him because this kind of touch from him I have missed so much. My body is racing and the moment is full of so much anticipation. “I really want to kiss you, Kam; you better stop me now or…..” Shawn sighs.
I can barely process his words. My head is so woozy, his smell and the feel of his hands. My fog is replaced by Shawn’s lips as he presses against mine with such softness, sexiness that my knees threaten to buckle. I keep my arms looped around his neck so I don’t fall. He wraps his long arms around my waist, tugging me closer as he deepens the kiss. Shawn’s lips exploring mine, his tongue tangling with mine, his hands yanking my pony tail. His sexy sighs and moans tell me that he is savoring this kiss as much as I am. He yanks me even closer and for a brief second I can feel him pressed hard against my upper thigh. He’s aroused and that snaps me out my kiss induced fog. I pull away.
“Shit”, he stumbles backward. “You okay? Kam, I honestly didn’t expect that to happen. Please speak sweetheart.”
“I have to go, Shawn I’m not your sweetheart, not anymore”, I stammer.
“But I want you to be. Let me drive you home”, he pleads.
“No Shawn. I know where that will lead.”
My hand touches my lips as we exchange a sidelong glance and Shawn clears his throat shoving his hands back deep in his jeans. Feeling his eyes on me I glanced back a few times, and his gaze was always waiting for mine.
Shawn takes his phone out placing a quick call mumbling something like plan B. A small black SUV rounds the corner and stops at the curb in front of us. “Kam this is Kevin, he’s one of my security team and he’s going to take you home. I’m going to call you tomorrow because I don’t want to push my luck.”
My breath catches as Shawn moves closer then presses his hips into mine while pushing me against the door of the SUV.  Lining his tall frame up against me in a way that makes it clear how much he wants me, he delivers a scorching kiss, deep and hungry and desperate in a lot of ways. It’s threatening to send me up in flames. I feel it across every inch of my body as he continues to explore my mouth with his tongue. One hand drops away from my face and I feel his fingers graze underneath my sweater along the waistband of my jeans. Shawn draws a simple feather trace line across my belly with his index finger and my back arches into him. I wish we were not here in public and he would undo the button, slide the zipper down and push his hand inside my panties to save me from this now excruciating ache between my legs. But I have no such luck because just like that he is reaching for the door handle.
I slide into the seat as Shawn shuts the door and bangs on the top of the car two times. I’m in this giddy drugged out state now that I’d like to stay in forever, but I needed some space to clear my head. I am tempted to shake it like I’ve just emerged from a pool of water. But yet amidst my confusion, four words are loud and clear like a drum in my ears- but they are not those four words from two years ago. The opposite. “I want Shawn Mendes.”
