In the video, Revri and Rexstrew spotlight Episode 7, “The Case of the Very Long Stairway.” But there’s history leading up to that moment throughout Season 1. Specifically in Episode 6, “The Case of the Creeping Forest,” when Edwin changes his outfit for the first time — ghosts don’t really take the time to switch up their wardrobes in Dead Boy Detectives. He’s wearing a cozy green sweater and tells Charles that he has feelings for men. Charles puts both his hands on Edwin’s shoulders, facing him, as a sign of his unconditional love and support for Edwin’s sexuality. “For me, I always knew that Charles was the only one that can get through to Edwin through touch,” says Revri. “Edwin wouldn’t want anyone else to really touch him.”   It’s an important moment for their friendship, signifying that Edwin is starting to open up about his feelings and his attire reflects this. “To change Edwin is a big deal because Edwin doesn’t like change,” costume designer Kelli Dunsmore tells Tudum. “He had no collar. He had no bow tie.” Up until Episode 6, Edwin is always buttoned-up and closed off, protected in his tailor-made suit. “Hiding everything,” says Dunsmore.  It was Rexstrew’s pitch to have Edwin wear something different for that episode. “I just thought it could be an interesting way to get Charles’ attention,” says Rexstrew. “It’s like this really innocent and desperate little attempt.” In the scene, Revri chose to add in a line acknowledging the fashion statement. “It felt right for Charles to notice that Edwin dressed up nice,” he says. 

But in Episode 7, Edwin specifically confesses his feelings for Charles, after his best mate descends to the depths of hell to save him. When the boys hug at the end of Episode 5, “The Case of the Two Dead Dragons,” the meaning of Charles’ touch changes for Edwin. “He starts to crave it,” says Rexstrew. “It’s been unlocked by the Cat King (Lukas Gage), and then Monty (Joshua Colley) is more of a teenage crush kind of connection. But it’s all leading up to this.”  While Charles can’t fully reciprocate Edwin’s feelings now, he completely embraces and accepts him. He’s Edwin’s first true love, and he doesn’t push it away. “You kind of leave it open,” says Rexstrew. “Definitely,” adds Revri. Together, they rehearsed over and over again in Rexstrew’s room before filming. They spoke a lot about levels, as Charles is physically higher up on the stairs and Edwin is below, which adds to the vulnerable nature of the scene. “We really wanted to make sure that it was perfect, right?” remembers Revri.  When filming came around, Revri was blown away by Rexstrew’s ability to bring out so much emotion after seemingly holding back in rehearsals. “Well, it was hard. It’s very difficult being in love with you. What can I say?” jokes Rexstrew. The scene also comes after Edwin finds his old bully Simon (Gabriel Drake), who was responsible for Edwin being sent to hell back in 1916. But he learns that Simon was also a closeted boy who was scared of his feelings. “Edwin realizes in that moment, ‘You can’t live your life with regret,’ ” says Rexstrew. “ ‘You can’t live your life not saying what you feel.’ ”   Both actors hope that fans find comfort in Edwin and Charles’ relationship as chosen family. “Even if you’re born into a scenario where those around you don’t accept you for who you are, there are people out there for you,” says Rexstrew. Yeeeeah. The other picture. I saw two bears across two entirely different game franchises and went "Lol wouldn't it be funny if they were related?" to nobody but myself. I'm sure Bobby and Freddy are offended by my specism. Then I started to take the silly idea kinda seriously? Then over thought it. I did base Bobby's pizza uniform on the FNAF movie costume.

So yeah Freddy Fazbear is Bobby's dad in my AU. Freddy Bonafazio is his real name. People usually shorten their last name to 'Fazio which eventually turned into Fazbear. Its a local thing.

I'm being bad and only focusing on one parent (Like Scott Cawthon) Fred is the owner of a humble pizzeria on the island known as Teddy Paw Cay. A successful partnership with Play Co. allowed him to sell their their toys as prizes. He comes from a long line of roboticists and designed his own mascots and animatronics, some of which are even produced at Play Co.

Bobby loves her dad and she means the world to him. Freddy has dedicated his life to the entertainment and happiness of children as Bobby's love for him and her friends gives him seemingly endless inspiration. But one strange day the magical toy factory in the valley was closed down and abandoned, seemingly overnight.

Without the toy factory, Freddy struck out to find a new business partner on the mainland. A very laid back raccoon-dog type lad with a hand in many businesses. He's kind of mysterious yet friendly! Although Bobby realizes later on that her father began to change in some ways after their partnership began.

Unfortunately this partnership meant Bobby had to move away from the island. Alone and without friends, she was immediately smitten with one of Nook's nephews though her feelings were not reciprocated. He eventually warms up to her and her strong cuddly warm bear hugs even if he doesn't want to show it out right.

Note: Tim's comment is from their first meeting and Bobby's first time on the mainland. An attempt to streamline the "canon" Smiling Critters with my AU where everyone wears clothes. So one day in every little critter's life, they wake up and realize: "Hey clothes are cool. I wanna try some on!" Before then, little critters usually scurry around wild and fancy free, even running around on all fours sometimes, basically showing more animal like behavior, in very cute ways. As they grow up they start acting more like "people" and there are shops dedicated to little critters trying on an array of outfits. Discovering themselves and their tastes. Tim thinks he is "all that" and wouldn't be caught dead with no clothes, Bobby just hasn't gotten around to that yet.

Halloween Special: Part 2

Part 1

The gates to NRC swung open, inviting the guests waiting outside into the school grounds. While students, both in costume and their gym wear, helped any of the people with their questions. The festivities had started and it was becoming apparent that three people were missing.

“All that fuss made over the outfits and yet I don’t even see her.” Vil crossed his arms and muttered under his breath.

“Maybe you did a poor job.” Leona jokes with a smirk as the model glares at him. “You got the Herbivore and her herd stuck in hiding.

Silver hummed as he stood next to the glaring upperclassmen. “Maybe they’re still getting everything together or training the fox cubs I gave to her.”

Jamil raised an eyebrow as he looked at Silver. “You...you gave them fox cubs?”

“I did. I believed it would tie their costumes together beautifully and Fa-Lilia-san agreed.”

“I can hardly imagine Rollo-shi even picking up an animal that wasn’t Grim-shi.” Idia muttered.

“Mommy, Mommy, look! Look at the pretty foxes!”

All heads turned towards the kid and then to where they were pointing. The air grew silent as the sound of sandals on the pavement was heard. You could almost hear jaws hitting the floor as Rollo, Yuu, and Grim appeared. Rollo was wearing a gray haori with darker gray swaying lines towards the end of the sleeves. A long red scarf was wrapped around his neck and he had on a black kimono under the haori. The hakama was beautifully decorated in a fall color ombre style as there was a lighter leaf pattern towards the bottom of fabric.

Yuu had on a beautiful kimono, the top layer was a soft ivory color with a checkered pattern on the ends of the sleeves. She had a giant red bow as her obi and the bottom part of her kimono was flared out. A black nagajuban could be seen through the gaps in the kimono. The bottom had a dark red to light orange ombre color on it and a pale orange red spider lily was splashed onto the design.

Finally, there was Grim, whose fur stayed the same usual gray, but blue flames stuck to and danced around his back. He also sported a set of twin forked tails, the ends also had the same blue flames attached to them. The feline had an upside down trivet on his head and he gleefully spun around his bamboo pipe.

Rollo and Yuu were also sporting a pair of fox ears and tails that matched their hair color. Following behind the two were a set of fox cubs, one gray and one black, as they yipped and played with each other.

“Ho-”

“-ly-”

“Shit.”

The NRC students were speechless as the Ramshackle trio approached Vil.

“Vil~” Yuu hugged the Pomefiore dorm leader. “These are amazing! Thank you so much!”

“Y-You’re welcome, Potato.”

Rollo bowed, his tail flicking behind him before coming to rest at his hip. “I must say thank you as well, you and Professor Crewel did an outstanding job.”

Grim hopped around. “Nya-ha. We got all eyes on us!”

“I’m gonna show Rolls the rest of the exhibits and I’ll give my thanks to Crewel as well.” She gave him one last hug and grabbed Rollo’s hand, leading them further into the school grounds. “C’mon Grim!”

“Wait up!” Grim bounded after them.

Despite all the eyes on the Ramshackle group, none of them were aware of the multitude of phone cameras on them. Soon, talk of the couple spread on MagiCam and yet all of this wouldn’t reach their ears until they finally sat down to rest. Yuu snaps a picture of the snacks they’re eating: a picture of Grim shoving a candy apple into his mouth, the fox cubs, Opal and Onyx, looking cute in their little outfits that Crewel had made from scraps, and some of Rollo. 

She goes to post them on her page, she spies the hashtag “FoxyCouple” and curiosity gets the better of her. Yuu tags the tag and her eyes widen as she spots all the various pictures of the Ramshackle residents in various exhibits. The young adult scrolls down and sees all the pictures and videos she took with the NRC students. The top three posts are: Vil posting about how he and Crewel helped the design the outfits under a picture they took with the Pomefiore students, Cater’s cheerful post talking about how #cute the couple were followed by multiple pics of her and Rollo in the Botanical Gardens, the final one was Lilia...who had somehow managed to snap a picture of her and Rollo fixing each other’s clothes and kissing.

“Oh no.”

“Hmm? Is something the matter?” Rollo peers over her shoulder and his face goes red as he sees the posts AND the views along with reposts and likes on each of them. 

Yuu slumps back against the bench as Rollo hides his very long, very french, rant behind the paper fan she had to go along with his costume. 

Well, they certainly stole the show...

An old blog from 5 September 2008 which describes the writer meeting Jonathan at a performance of ‘Hair’ after he had left the show to film ‘Taking Woodstock’, including:

The show I usher for was originally set to close mid-August but it has already been extended twice. Which works out well for me and the hazard of unemployment. It also means that the lead (now that I no longer work there I can tell you I’m talking about Jonathan Groff**) had to leave the show to go film an Ang Lee movie and his replacement isn’t quite as charming.

He had the day off from filming yesterday. How do I know this, you ask? Because he came to see the show and of course he sat in my section, because awesome/famous people always sit in my section (I really lucked out with that assignment at the beginning of the summer). I didn’t notice him until intermission when I saw him sitting all by himself and realized he had been the annoying guy sitting next to the show’s costume designer whispering and laughing uproariously at everything the whole first act. Wow, good thing I hadn’t shot him a nasty “shut up!” look!

Well there he was, in all his adorable splendor, sitting alone as the costume designer had left to attend to things…

But he’s not heading for the exit. No, no. Johnathan Groff is walking straight towards me.

“Hi! How are you? It’s so good to see you,” he says and then gives me a hug. Like we bonded during the show. Like we’re old friends. Like he’s at least talked to me once before in our lives.

Planning my line? Fuck that! Not even my imagination considered this!

From where I stood there were two choices: play along or let the truth- that I’ve never talked to him before ever and think he’s very talented, not to mention the fact he’s already achieved most of my life goals- take over. No contest.

For the entirety of intermission me and this Tony-nominated, the next hot thing, golden boy of Broadway are bffs. We talk about the show, how it’s been since he left, how filming’s been, laugh when some guy comes over to talk to him and ends his “I saw you in this show, you were so great” spiel with: “My friend sitting up over there. It’s her birthday. She wants your dong.” The guy quickly leaves and my new bff laughs and confides in me, “That’s one I’ve never heard before- ‘She wants your dong.’ And did you see how fast he went back to his seat? I bet that was a dare.” …

It’s a good thing I’m 97% sure he’s gay. (It’s a vibe, a chemistry maybe… But in this show it made his character much stronger. His connection to Will Swenson’s Berger is awesome. Which I didn’t appreciate fully until he left. Sigh. If he is not gay, he is a truly brilliant actor for creating that. His replacement doesn’t have the same vibe and it makes the whole show a little weaker, in my opinion.) [He actually came out a year after I wrote this.**] Otherwise I would be head over heals in love. Such a sweet, modest, respectful, awesome person.

TTA Ch. 13 snippet (and the academy goes to…)

Lili’s dress is breathtaking. It’s both strapless and backless. A violent red with a single, dancing thread of gold winding around her bodice and down the A-Line skirt.

Jade gives Lili a quick, hug hello, careful not to smudge either of their makeup or mess up the hair that must’ve taken Lili’s hairstylist hours.

Beside her, Kit rests a hand on the small of her back where the lace of her bodice meets the skirt. It’s warm through the thing fabric, and despite Kit’s calm exterior, Jade knows it’s sweaty with nerves.

Jade turns to Kit with a comforting smile, carefully avoiding looking down at Kit’s very bare chest and the necklace carefully nestled between the just-visible curves of her breasts.

“So, how are you feeling?” Jade asks.

“Like my face is about to fall off from smiling,” Lili laughs. “Honestly, I’m just excited for the after party. Taramis might have a shot at best picture and a couple others. I think we’re a shoo-in for costume and sound design, and obviously leading actress, but me in supporting actress? Fat chance. Not with who I’m up against.”

“You never know,” Jade says.

“Yeah, you could beat out Meryl!” Kit agrees.

“Wait, Meryl Streep was nominated for supporting as well?”

“Yep,” Lili nods. “Hence why I didn’t even bother to write a speech.”

“Speaking of speeches,” another voice interrupts. It’s Elora in an ethereal, white sparkling gown, just silvery enough to not look bridal. She pulls Kit off of Jade and pulls at one of the lapels of her jacket. “You left your speech in the hotel, dumbass.”

“What would I do without you?” Kit croons.

“Yeah, yeah.” Elora says. “Anyway, I kind of ditched Graydon when I saw…well, I had an excuse to come and find you. I should go find him again. And if I don’t see you before, good luck! Whether you win or lose, you’re my favorite actress, and don’t tell Airk, but also my favorite Tanthalos!” She gives Kit a long, drawn out hug and runs off faster than a normal person in heels should be able to.

“Holy crap,” Lili says once Elora had left. “I don’t think I’d ever seen her in person, but I can’t believe I didn’t put it together before. I mean, Elora isn’t exactly a common name.”

Kit’s hand is back at Jade’s back and they share a look. “She’s the best publicist for a reason,” Kit smiles, offering the simplest of explanations and leaving it at that.

Chapter 2: Luming

Narrated by Momo.

Narrator: After passing through the fog, the reflections of stars in the clear water come off like a pan of shining sand.

Nikki: It's been a while since I was here at the Lake of Wishes, and it's still so lovely.

Narrator: We head toward the small building in the middle, where Luming is looking into a lantern.

Momo: Luming! Hey, is that my Lantern of Wishes?

Narrator: The lantern emits brilliant light in Luming's hand. I notice the round top suddenly sprouts two little triangles... that look like my ears.

Luming: Yes. And I know your wish now.

Narrator: Luming nods as the red twines on his horn swing. He seems high-spirited

Luming: I'll do my best to help you make your wish come true, Momo.

Momo: Have I told you how dependable you are, Luming?

Narrator: It's urgent, so I unfold the sheet and uncap the pen...

Momo: The design must fit the character's traits. Speaking of deer, the most obvious feature is the antlers, right?

Luming: Gorgeous antlers must look like resilient branches.

Narrator: I draw smooth lines with a brown marker.

Luming: The body has white, round spots, like rice balls we had in Cloud.

Luming: The White Queen lives in a very cold place? Young reindeer would grow thick wool for the winter.

Luming: They might look hairy, but it doesn't affect their grace one bit.

Luming: Also...

Momo: Slow down, you're about to lose me!

Narrator: With overenthusiastic help from Luming, my design starts to take shape.

Narrator: It features artistic antlers, cute ears, and a furry cape with bells that ring when the wearer skips like a deer.

Narrator: Good job, me, for quickly grasping the essence.

Momo: Oh the queen's reindeer has no lines and must perform through body language.

Momo: For realism's sake, mind teaching me some motion and movement?

Luming: Sure! Let me think of the more common ones...

Luming: Okay, to show endearment, let the other rub your head.

Luming: In the cold night, you can also huddle with someone to share the warmth.

Narrator: I extend my arms in a trial hug. At my height, the only thing I could hug would be the queen's calf.

You: Hee, a little short there, Momo!

Narrator: No, it's not because I'm short. It's because the actresses all wear high heels!

Act 2 re-read! A summer of overcomings!

Celebration time!! First otsu otsu from Itaru made me nostalgic sob

“Closing night was one of the happiest moments of my life” I know this is natsugumi time but this line from Saku hit me in the feels (also seeing Masumi’s sprite laughing like that was so sweet aw)

I like Yuki sm. I mean, I have always liked him but he’s so... frank? (mmm not the word but oh well) for his age and in the auditions you see the contrast between him and Kazu. Yuki IS somewhat interested after the show but I feel he understood it might take something more for him to be on board (after all there is a lot going on), on the other hand Kazu just went for it -which is fine- but it did feel as if he didn’t think that one too much (edit after the whole read: now im thinking that maybe it’s bc he saw the possibility of creating something similar to what spring troupe showed in like... a chance to find what he was looking for in a real friendship and i might cry)

Costume designer AND actor, tsuzuru pls don’t push the hand work to a middle schooler

“Mmm… You are pretty young” Tenma I’m tilting my head and raising my eyebrow that is not how I raised you (I forgot how he behaved at first help).

I loved how the audition went! Also props to Izumi for facing the big named actor and saying basically if you keep up this behaviour no matter how good you are you are out.

It's nice hearing the parents' voices as well! Yuki’s mom felt mmm idk didn’t expect it like that? Not that it was bad but it did feel how the house worked (also sakisaka papa crying bc of his son I swear this familyyyy/pos I love him)

“Where’s my gold star?” “Up your ass for all I care” Yuki really didn’t hold back oh my GOD once again kissing location

MISUMIIII (SDFGHJ Kazu really went “Rad it’s a ghost!” I wheezing) also the mechanic of the game to make it seem he was jumping all over the place by moving his sprite quickly from one side to the other hELP

First rehearsal was good for the exp they have. I’m happy Sakuya used his powers on Tenma to make him see you can be a good leader without needing to be complaining (whoever said that this might be bc Tenma was used to this harsh treatment during his jobs I second it)

The whole thing with kazu OH I wish I could hug him. That little flat laugh made me stop the story oof. Tenma really stepped over the line with everyone and I’m super glad Izumi had a talk with him

AW the firework scene!! (also known as, the beginning of tenma’s bullying/j) I think the natsugumi story is one of the most fun bc their dynamic as a full groupe are just so chaotic filled with nostalgia? I mean, they are the youngest troupe and I know it’s intentional but I still like it <3

As the clock struck midnight, ushering in the first day of the year 2025, I found myself sitting at my desk, absorbed in yet another creative endeavour. The new year brought with it a surge of inspiration, compelling me to return to my digital canvas. I resolved to begin the year with a heartfelt tribute to my original characters, Liliana and Arlon. They weren’t just characters to me—they were embodiments of an ideal, the mascots of the romantic love I had always envisioned. Ending 2024 with an artwork of them felt poetic, and starting 2025 with another felt like continuity, a seamless connection between the past and the future.

In this particular piece, I envisioned Liliana and Arlon performing an intimate pas de deux ballet under a blanket of stars. The scene unfolded in my mind—a lush lakeside setting where the water shimmered with the reflections of the celestial canopy above. I wanted the atmosphere to exude serenity and romance, a perfect backdrop for my idealised couple. Their costumes, inspired by swans, symbolised grace, purity, and an unspoken connection to one another. As I worked on their designs, I delved into the details, ensuring each element conveyed their personalities and the deep bond they shared.

Liliana’s appearance was elegant and radiant. Her hair, brown and lustrous, was tied up that frame her face with a soft charm and also showed her much exposed back. Her tutu, pure white, strapless and backless, flared out like delicate feathers, its layers shimmering subtly under the moonlight. The bodice hugged her form with intricate embroidery resembling the texture of swan plumage, and her pointe shoes, laced with ribbons that crisscrossed gracefully up her ankles, completed the look. Liliana’s expression was a mixture of joy and devotion, her smile reflecting an unwavering affection for Arlon. Every detail of her attire and posture spoke of her role as the nurturing and expressive half of their partnership.

Arlon, on the other hand, contrasted Liliana’s extroverted elegance with a reserved simplicity. His dark hair was slightly tousled, a reflection of his quiet, introspective nature. He wore a white costume resembling swan down, modest in its design yet complementing Liliana’s intricate ensemble. The knee-length shorts he donned were textured to mimic the soft feathers of a swan, and his bare feet grounded him, adding a touch of vulnerability to his character. Arlon’s expression was one of quiet awe, his gaze fixed on Liliana as though she were the centre of his universe. His movements were measured, almost hesitant, as if he were marvelling at the fact that someone could care for him so deeply.

The backdrop I created for their performance was equally significant. The lake’s surface mirrored the starry sky, blurring the line between earth and heaven, reality and dreams. The distant mountains formed a gentle silhouette, adding depth to the scene, while the grassy lakeshore where they danced was painted in rich, verdant tones. The entire setting was designed to evoke a sense of magic and intimacy, a place where time seemed to stand still for Liliana and Arlon.

As I continued to develop the artwork, I found myself imagining the narrative behind their performance. It wasn’t just any ballet they were performing; it was their rendition of Tchaikovsky’s iconic "Swan Lake." However, this wasn’t the traditional tale of a prince rescuing Odette. Inspired by Bourne’s reinterpretation of the classic, I envisioned a story with significant alterations, one that resonated deeply with me and the essence of Liliana and Arlon’s relationship.

In this version, Arlon portrayed a young boy struggling to navigate a world that often misunderstood him. His autism created a rift between him and his family, a distance born not of malice but of an inability to bridge the gap of understanding. Feeling isolated, Arlon sought solace in the one person who truly saw him—Liliana. She, a ballerina brimming with compassion and determination, became his anchor, his refuge in a storm of confusion and loneliness. Theirs was a love story rooted in acceptance and healing, where Liliana’s gentle persistence broke through the walls Arlon had built around himself.

The narrative explored Arlon’s struggle against repression—not just from society but also from within. He grappled with self-doubt and the fear of being a burden, emotions that many autistic individuals face. Yet, Liliana’s unwavering support offered him hope. Her love was not a cure but a sanctuary, a reminder that he was worthy of happiness and freedom. Unlike traditional tales where the male protagonist courts the female lead, this story flipped the script. It was Liliana who expressed her love for Arlon, her actions and words conveying a depth of feeling that left no room for ambiguity.

One of the most poignant moments in their rendition of "Swan Lake" was a solo performed by Arlon. Set against a hauntingly beautiful section of Tchaikovsky’s score, the choreography captured his internal battle. His movements were restrained yet powerful, reflecting his journey from despair to a tentative embrace of hope. Liliana’s subsequent entrance onto the stage marked a turning point. Their pas de deux was a dialogue without words, a dance of trust and vulnerability. Together, they created a narrative that celebrated individuality and the transformative power of love.

As I added the finishing touches to the artwork, I couldn’t help but feel a profound connection to the story I had envisioned. It was, in many ways, a reflection of my own experiences and aspirations. Through Liliana and Arlon, I explored themes of acceptance, understanding, and the courage to love unconditionally. Their story was a reminder that even in a world that often feels isolated here is hope—hope for connection, for freedom, and for a love that transcends barriers.

When I finally completed the piece, I took a step back and allowed myself a moment of quiet satisfaction. The artwork was more than just an image; it was a narrative, a testament to the bond between Liliana and Arlon and the ideals they represented. Starting 2025 with this creation felt like setting the tone for the year ahead—one of creativity, introspection, and a commitment to celebrating the beauty of human connections. As I gazed at the finished artwork, I couldn't help but feel a sense of fulfilment over me. It was a symbol of hope and resilience, a visual representation of the power of love and unity in overcoming adversity.

Reflecting on the process, I realised that this artwork was not just a beginning but also a continuation of a journey I had embarked on long ago. Liliana and Arlon’s story was far from over, and neither was my exploration of the themes they embodied. As I looked ahead to the rest of 2025, I felt a renewed sense of purpose and excitement. There were more stories to tell, more worlds to create, and more opportunities to celebrate the complexities and wonders of love and human connection. And with Liliana and Arlon by my side, I knew I was ready to face whatever the future held.

3: tattoos! I have a bunch, but technically most of my first tattoos (stick and pokes I did in highschool... I know) have since faded without a trace lmao. What's visible is two forearm tattoos, one of the Eye of Providence on my right arm, and on the left a large Icelandic stave (kinda like old sigils theyd put on boats and armor and stuff?) called "ottastafur", which means "strike fear in your enemies". I got it as a sort of not so obvious tribute piece to one of my favorite artists, who also has a tattoo of a similar stave. Then on my clavicle/right shoulder, kinda, I have a small coffee cup with stars and planets around it. My best friend and I designed it together, and we both got it together, so whenever we hug mine (on the right) bumps hers (on her left shoulder) :] She and I met working in a coffee shop and for many years have had a silly inside joke where we call each other "space wives", hence the motif lol.

And aside from that, right now I am working with my friend who does tattoos to design a little BKMN piece for the nape of my neck. We are thinking thick black line work of a slightly cracked egg and a needle with thread. :) Alternatively I might just get two little faces from the comic on the back of my shoulders, one lil wegg face and one lil neighbor face, and then the nape of my neck would have a lil Trudy mask.

62: an earthquake... I guess once technically! Like ten years ago or something there was an earthquake that was so intense we felt it on the east coast, but it really just kind of shook everything around the same way I'm used to a train doing. So it wasn't too weird haha.

93: Broken a bone... yeah! I once broke a rib while working, and I also broke my ankle many years ago falling off the schoolbus lol. I'm lucky, both were closed simple fractures, so I've never had a *really bad* broken bone.

99: Someone who didn't seem real.. Probably gonna have to be when I met Jay McCarroll at Juniors after a show. Must have been about a decade ago now. He was a massive inspiration for me as a kid, and because of him I love costume design. He did costume design for a bunch of the artists that performed so we just happened to both end up at Juniors after the fact. I was SO nervous, but he was just an absolute sweetheart and willing to dish/vent about the artists he worked with without me even asking... which felt really cool ahaha. We shared a plate of rugelach and then he suggested we take pictures like we were going to prom. They're incredibly ridiculous and funny. It still doesn't feel real.

Here's a happy story for those still hanging on for one this Blog:

When I'd first embarked on my cross-country endeavor into Hollywood, after living in NY, my goal was to land one of the industries most coveted daytime soaps. Like millions, I’d watched General Hospital as a kid and throughout my youth. I became familiar with and invested in the series regulars characters and enjoyed popping in from time to time to see where the story had taken them from it’s residency in upstate New York.

At one point in time, the story literally took some of the cast to Rochester, New York, where I was in attendance at The Eastman School of Music. Two people at the conservatory were excited by this: myself and our head of costuming, a gorgeous soul named Alice Volonino. Apparently we shared the dream of working on the show. And Alice actually did it!  After approaching production, she wound up leaving Eastman to become a full time costumer for General Hospital, relocating to Hollywood, California. And life went on...

Flash to... I’d just landed in Atlanta, Georgia after relocating from my home of 19 years in Los Angeles when I got a very welcome phone call from an established stunt coordinator who worked on General Hospital, asking me to put an audition on tape for their legendary casting director. The irony of finally getting “The Call” in such a way, long after the start of my career, after I’d already moved, was laughable. Of course I did the audition and sent the tape off. AND I booked it, and hopped on a plane back to Los Angeles. By some random coincidence or fated planetary alignment, one of my friends happened to be selling her home in Burbank. The house was empty and she allowed me to stay while I worked in town. On top of this, I was able to use travel points to fly for free. Everything just seemed to line up, perfectly, to make things happen for me.

On set, the atmosphere was relaxed, professional, and enjoyable. My scenes/episodes were with none other than the Genie Francis (aka Laura, a total OG!!) and the incredible Michael E. Knight. Both talented and gracious humans. As we filmed, I felt right at Home. Finally. It had been years since I was bestowed with an actual character and dialogue, with the freedom to do what I do. And I owe that opportunity to Stunt Coordinator/ 2nd Unit Director Tim Davison, who recognized my theatrical background, and kept me in mind (for years) to find the right moment to include me.

But wait, there's more awesome...

At some point during filming, Tim remembered I’d graduated from Eastman and mentioned that “Alice, the costumer” was also from Rochester. “No way, I’ll have to say hello!” At wrap that day, I stopped in downstairs to ask whereabout I might find Alice. From the back of the room comes “That’s me”, and out walks a face that is familiar, though I cant place it. I say hello, explaining I had heard she was from Rochester, that I’d lived there a long while. Alice eyeballs me, curiously, stating “Wait. You look familiar”. Awkward anticipation. As she approached me, she adds “What school?”.  “Eastman”, I say. Without a pause, she states: “I worked at Eastman”. By now we are a couple steps from one another and the rest of the department crew is silent, watching our exchange. I tell Alice that I had a different last name then, Tarantino. Her eyes opened wide, and in the same moment, we both realize that we know each other!

Now I’ve given some great hugs in my life, but the one between me and Alice Volonino from Eastman was unbelievably validating, welcome, and just dang wonderful! Look at us now! Both “making it” in Hollywood, living our dreams! I honestly felt Divine guidance had brought me here, to this place, at this moment. A sign that things are gonna be A-Okay. It reinstated hope within me for my acting career after so many losses, near misses, and sacrifices.

Needless to say, the rest of our shoot passed far too quickly. I received incredible support from the cast and crew while on set. But two particular, unexpected comments left me feeling “seen”. The first was from casting director Mark Teschner (who dialed in from home, where he'd been watching dailies) complimenting me / my work (*amen). The second was at wrap, when the producer told me I should “really think of pursuing (acting)”, I was apparently “good at it”. LOL, I wanted to scream I AM AN ACTOR!  to let him know I'd been trying to claw, kick, and scream my way back into acting since the 2007 writers strike. Instead, I thanked him, grateful for the feedback, with the tiniest hope that I might be back (he did say “we have to have you back”). Alas, a year and a half later, that hasn't manifested, yet. They may have learned that I'd moved from CA. Dammit, this curse of ALMOST!

I can honestly say, after a nearly two years here in Georgia, I would return to Hollywood in a heartbeat for the right opportunity. But it would take a miracle to make that affordable now. I miss the food, the weather, and my medical team (in my brief but torturous experience, Atlanta has absolutely horrid medical care). I especially miss walking through the gates of the most iconic studios in the movie business. THAT is where I want to be. THAT is Home. THAT is where I belong.

For now, I must remain in the South and weather the storm of another pending (seemingly inevitable) Writers Strike and lingering lack of work as The BIZ continues to evolve and grow. Who knows how it will effect all of us journeymen. It never seems to be for the better. We just want to get back to work and begin recuperating loses of income due to pandemic shutdowns and studio mergers.

thoughts on that Wednesday Addams show

-the writing is incredibly juvenile in a way only an adult man who is not actually nor ever has been an "outcast" could accomplish

-that being said all the actors were really amazing! Especially Jenna Ortega!!!

-One thing I liked but felt was more by accident than by design was the way that this school of "outcasts" were like, really normal?? Like theyre just teenagers who happen to not be human. Which makes the fact that Wednesday is a human who's Not Normal kind of compelling. Wish this was an intentional idea though, it could've been played with a whole lot more.... also i just kinda wish they'd picked a word other than "outcasts" to call them. like oh my god i could absolutely see some line during the climax where theres all this petty teen drama where someones like "i might not be human, but at least im not a Monster like you Wednesday" woulda been AWESOME

-Wednesday's love triangle was lame and if she had to get with a guy I'd've preferred Eugene. I love his sibling relationship with wednesday sooo much. One of my favorite dynamics. However if she HAD to get with a guy. Id pick him. He reminds me of Joel from Addams Family Values.

-the fact that two guys fell wildly in love with Wednesday without her doing absolutely anything and also very clearly not returning the sentiment whatsoever and instead just using them whenever she needs them was really funny and on brand, wished the show had been self aware about it

-I really wish the other female characters played bigger roles? Like Enid was Great and I loved the glimpses of her friendship with Wednesday and Thing and their HUG omg,,, I wish the romance plots had been axed in favor of giving Wednesday's friendships more time to shine.

-I also wish Enid and Wednesday had danced together at the Rave'N. Enid goes and dances with all her friends but she never goes over to have fun with Wednesday :( it just felt wrong like, narratively, we saw how excited Enid was about Wednesday going to the dance and then the camera seems to cut to show Enid get excited from watching Wednesday dance and then they dont even Talk?? I hated that.

-also, Bianca. I really loved the way she was basically friends with Wednesday by the end of the show. Wish the show had done a better job at the Enemies to Friendly Rivals to Friends dynamic. Bianca in general is a REALLY cool character that I want more time with.

-Both Enid and Bianca would've made better love interests than the guys imo

-I did like the mysteries, though I'm not sure how well it actually works with the Addams. Because they wound up adding this plot line, no spoilers, about Gomez being accused of murder and Morticia gets super touchy about it. But like?? theyre the ADDAMS why would they be behaving like this about a death???? Makes no sense to me. Needed to be reworked, cuz there definitely are Ways to have made it work imo.

-I really loved all of the costuming for Wednesday though the color correction done on the uniforms makes me kinda sad. i think it would've been fun if the school had been more vibrant and full of life to better contrast who Wednesday is and how she stands out.

-Wednesday's relationship with Morticia is really weird, but in general I get the feeling that certain people involved didn't actually know what Morticia's character was like... at all? And a lot of the problems with the family dynamics stems from this mischaracterization of Morticia in particular. I know some people didn't like Wednesday going through a rebellious phase, but I actually think that fit her character just fine, it's how her parents react to this rebellion that feels out of character to me.

-the fact that they had a romance arc about a werewolf who struggled to be a werewolf and an awkward gorgon..... Very Monster High 2022 to me ngl

-Wednesday is Autistic and you can't convince me otherwise. Everything from the way all of her social interactions are written to the way she literally diverts eye contact whenever theres a closeup shot while she talks to people. shes just like me fr.

overall i give it a 6 out of 10. I wouldn't go around recommending it to people, it's kinda bad, but I got some enjoyment out of it,, so not fully the worst.

But Also if you haven't seen it I WOULD recommend you go watch the fanmade Adult Wednesday Addams series on youtube. It's a classic!

HEADCANON TIME|| Will Byers X M!Reader & rest of party take part in the school musical

Also this takes place AFTER season 4 so SPOILERS. Also this takes place during the year after season 4, so let’s pretend this is a world where after season 4 they beat Vecna and everyone survives also Max wakes up and recovers! She’s still blind, and don’t ever expect me to write that out.

Note: I had to look up stuff for the DND reference so something with that could be incorrect but I still don’t know much about it, sorry!

You were the first to notice the audition posters around the school and you immediately brought it up the next time the party got together

Almost everyone immediately shot down the idea, but after a while you were able to convince them to do SOMETHING

You were the only one to go for cast, Mike, Lucas, and Dustin all went for running crew, while Will and El both decided to help with costumes

After waiting a few weeks, the cast list finally came back, and you got the role of the prince! Everyone was happy for you, especially Will.

During rehearsals, they began fitting people for costumes, and of course, Will wanted to do yours. He wanted his Prince to look as best as possible.

You would go Over to the Byers house and practice your Lines with Will and El, and whenever El was busy you and Will would practice the romantic scenes.

You absolutely loved practicing your Lines with Will while he worked on his Costumes. He showed you all the different Costumes he had designed with El, but refused to show you your costume, because he wanted it to be a surprise

Eventually dress rehearsals started, and everyone had to get into costume. Will made you put on a blindfold and then helped you get into yours so it would be a surprise

When he took it off, the first thing you noticed was the crown. It was tall, and there was a large jewel in the center that crown, which was painted to look like an Aquamarine. The regal suit itself was a mix of lighter and darker shades of blue and black, with white undertones, and the cape itself was long, with a navy blue color and galaxy pattern weaving itself down, folding like a reflection. That’s when you noticed the pattern in the stars on the cape. It was Ursa Major.

You were enamored with the suit, and with Will as well. The reason the suit was special is because it was based on your DND character, a level 12 Water Genasi, known as the Son of Ursa Major, Caspain

Only the people in the party understood what the suit meant, Mike thought it was Sappy (Eleven quickly shut him up) and the rest of the party thought it was sweet.

When Lucas described the suit to Max she too agreed it was Sappy, but still pretty cute. She was really excited about the show and when tickets started selling she bought one for every show night.

Eventually those nights came. Everything was going well backstage, and all your lines were memorized thanks to your constant training with Will and El.

On the first night Max came, Nancy, Jonathan, Erica, and Steve all came along with her (Robin was in the pit orchestra because Vickie convinced her to join.) and Erica would describe everything that was going on in the scene while Max listened to dialogue (and would quickly silence anyone who dared to try and silence her)

The last 2 nights Max came, she didn’t need Erica. She already knew what was happening and she brought Lucas a single rose every time.

Each show got a huge round of applause at the end, by the last show almost all of Hawkins has seen it, and it was the best show they had put on in quite a while.

On the last night, after the curtains closed, you gave Will the deepest hug you’d given anyone. You had all put months of time into it, and it was so worth it. He also got you a huge bouquet of red roses, which you put in a vase in your room and smelled them every morning.

You got to keep the Crown from your costume, but you’d decided to give it to Will, and he kept it on his night stand next to his bed.

The first thing you all did once you got back together afterwards was start preparing for the next theater performance.

1) Does Mysterio use glitter?

Well, I would be disappointed if he didn’t LOL

Special biodegradable glitter that is a-ok for the environment is definitely something he’d use! Mostly for his entrances and exits tho, just to add that extra bit of flair to his performance. He thrives on the melodrama.

Edible glitter would also be good, just in case someone inhaled it by accident when he makes his grand appearance or get away. I mean, he’s not a killer, he’d actually be upset if someone innocent got hurt during his “performances”, someone he wasn’t intending on hurting in some way.. He’d feel horrible about it and, if given the opportunity, he would apologize.

But yeah, this man absolutely uses glitter! :D (despite my loathing of glitter that isn’t sealed to prevent it from transferring to other things, I’d so totally hug him still regardless of the risk of getting glitter on me for days after)

2) Does Acedia have seasonal outfits?

Been meaning to design some alterations to the Sloth Suit, and this gave me the motivation to do just that! Enjoy my seasonal hero wear!

3) How did you come up with Acedia?

OK SO. STORY TIME:

I originally thought about joining everyone during the initial big spidersona bang when Into the Spiderverse was first released and everyone was making their own. I saw a few people talking about spider crab based spidersonas and wanted to join that but, well.. that was too difficult and I never was able to come up with anything cool.

sometime down the line I was initially interested in the anime My Hero Academia (thank heck I never watched more than barely the full first season, knowing all the drama and junk that’s happened, I dodged a bullet LOL) but I did come up with some oc’s for it and even a ‘quirksona‘ that was sloth based named Acedia, basically myself, but more sloth and also not as cool as I wanted:

nothing came of that character so cut to years later, this year, I recently rewatched Spiderverse and started to get into the Spiderman side of things again out of the blue after watching TSSM and falling in love with the show all over again, and doodling Doc Ock, too. I thought back to my old failed attempt at making a spidersona, so I decided to try my hand at that again.

I remembered Acedia’s design and tbh I really did love the design so I reworked it and made adjustments to better resemble a sloth and better resemble Spiderman’s iconic appearance. On top of that I did also just make the character under the costume ME with no real changes at all. And thus, Acedia, The Cryptid Crawler was created:

Anyways, that’s the story behind Acedia’s creation!

A popular young politician Ainosuke is a promising young politician who is popular among men and women, young and old. His public persona is so incredibly powerful that even when the police were on his tail, he was able to sell out his older statesman.

Twisted view on love Since Ainosuke was born into a political family, his future was set before he was even aware of it, and so his aunts raised him while strictly disciplining him. The reason he crushes people while skating as ADAM originates from the trauma of those events.

Eve He’s searching for his EVE while skating under the name of ADAM. That means someone who can skate alongside him and enter the zone. When Langa evaded the Love Hug, ADAM had a vision of him as EVE.

Director Utsumi Comment Designing him was the most difficult. Producer Suzuki said that she wanted to have a masked character and I figured the only option for that would be a last boss. But when we put the mask on him it made him seem super eccentric which would be perfect for a character who’s crazy, but if we went too far people wouldn’t take him seriously as a last boss, so we struggled to find the right level. Once we decided to make him a crazy character, his personality became more clear. Since he has a lot of parts drawing him was really difficult but the art staff said while it was difficult they were having fun, so for one reason or another everyone on the production team loved him (lol).

Character Designer Chiba Michinori Comment There was a time where Director Utsumi asked me “Can you make his skating costume have fewer lines?” but I was insistent (lol). It might look complicated but the parts are pretty simple so it’s not that difficult. Honestly, it’s based off the Cosmo outfit (Saint Seiya) (lol). His mask started off simpler but Director Utsumi wanted it to be more flashy. Since we wanted to make his skating outfit in ep 12 something unimaginable, I asked Okazaki Takashi who made Afro Samurai to design it. I think the long line on his lower eyelid is a very important part of Ainosuke.

Colorist Gotou Yukari Comment  Director Utsumi told me his hair should be blue, or a bluish purple, and he should have a Dracula feel too him. I made his hair dark blue so there would be a good balance with Langa’s hair color. I made his eyes red, the same color as ADAM’s image color. Since he’s a young politician, I made his suit a bright blue with a dark pink necktie to give him a young feel. His “S” costume is based on a matador’s outfit and the key word was “Passionate Love” so I made it red. Since there’s so many parts to it it was the outfit I had the most difficulty deciding how I should color it to make it look good. At first I wanted to make the hearts on his arms and legs yellow or red but Chiba-san said that when they were doing the animation and the parts were simplified the hearts would disappear and so it would make people think it looked weird and it would probably be better to make them a dark color? So I listened to his advice and made them a dark blue. That also made the yellow lines on his outfit stand out so I think it worked out well.
