mini series pt. 1

summary: you and your friends go on vacation before you start your last year at hogwarts. Let‘s just say it get‘s interesting between you and your best friend Mattheo.

warnings: modern slytherin group, vacation to spain, cursing, making out, touching a little, lap dance, hickeys, kissing pansy as friends in game, english is not my first language

Enzo, Blaise, Draco, Theodore, Mattheo, Pansy and me. We all sat together at my house around a big round table. My parents and I had a big house in New York, living there when the wizard world got a little too much.

It wasn‘t the first time that I had all of my friends over, we were inseparable. Everybody knew. So after a few years I showed them a little of my second world, leaving them no choice but to like it. Just like me, they liked to escape our world sometimes, leaving all the monsters and unicorns behind for some relaxing. Just like now.

"So.. where do we wanna go, huh?" Theodore asked into the round, lightning his cigarette.

"Why don‘t we think about what kind of vacation we want first?" I said, taking my Ipad in front of me and opening my vacation apps. " Please somewhere near the beach. I wanna tan and we‘re around the forest and mountains all the time in Hogwarts." Pansy said, stretching her legs over Draco‘s and Blaise‘s laps who were sitting on my garden couch.

"Yeah I agree, If I see one more forest I‘m gonna die." Blaise joins the conversation with a dramatic sigh at the end.

Mattheo and Draco teased each other at the meantime like little kids, throwing their cherry pits at each other.

"What about Italy? There‘s beach and sun." Enzo asks, sitting on the grass beneath us, playing with my dog. "Nah, I already live there that‘s no vacation for me." Theo answers, shaking his head and blowing out some smoke while speaking.

"I have an idea! Spain is beautiful and it‘s really hot there too, perfect to tan. I was there a few years ago with my parents. And the flight from there back to Hogwarts isn‘t that long. 2-3 hours I think." I suggested and looked around the table, all eyes on me now.

"Where exactly in Spain?" Mattheo asks me, sitting right next to me on a second couch, throwing a pit at Draco again. " Alicante is a great vacation spot. Lots of palms, beach, great fruits and sun. You guys will love it." I smile, already looking for flights for the next days.

"Sounds fine to me." Enzo shrugs, smiling up at me while the rest of our group joins in with "great idea" and some "let‘s do this".

2 days later

" Oh my god its beautiful! " Pansy says, stunned at the apartment I booked for us. "Wow, what a view. You really did a great job y/n." Blaise agrees.

The apartment has indeed a beautiful view, you can see the ocean right in front of us even tho it‘s night, you could see it because of all the lights from the little shops and restaurants along the ocean.

"Soo I booked this apartment with the balcony, 3 bathrooms which should be enough for us and 5 bedrooms. Pansy and Draco will share due obvious reasons." I started looking at them. "Also a kitchen so we can.. i din‘t know, have breakfast or have some snacks if everything is closed at night. And this big fat living room we‘re standing in."

" Blaise is right, you really did a great job at that." Mattheo grins, standing right next to me and looking around the living room.

We all settled in and unpacked our things. Pansy and I marked the biggest bathroom with our makeup and skincare stuff so the boys directly knew its our territory.

"Hey guys Theodore and I are going to a store, getting some groceries." Enzo shouted trough the apartment before walking outside the door with Theo.

"Pansy and me are showering!" I shouted so they‘d know what we‘re up to.

Mattheo and Draco looked at each other, before storming off the couch and sprinting to our bathroom only to realise the door was already locked. "Ugh."

I laughed at them together with Pansy as I shook my head. I took off my makeup as Pansy already got in the shower. "Mattheo is so smitten by you it‘s obvious." She laughs, shampooing her hair.

"You know we‘re just friends, Pansy." I say, cheekly smiling. Mattheo and I are best friends since first grade. All of us got friends real quick. Mattheo and Draco knew each other because the Malfoy‘s raised him for Voldemort. Pansy got a crush on Draco and didn‘t leave his side. Pansy and I had to share a dorm in Hogwarts which made us best friends too really fast. I met Enzo at my first class as he was my partner for the whole year. Blaise met Draco in the common room as they battled for the coolest broom. That‘s how we kind of found our way to each other and I wouldn‘t want to change it for a second.

"Yeah but he looks at you different as he looks at me for example." she answers. "Yeah because you‘re with Draco and he would chop Mattheo‘s dick off!" I laugh before joining her in the shower.

"No y/n, because he likes you a little more than just friends do. And hey I‘m not saying he loves you but all I‘m saying is that there is a little spark between the two of you."

Mattheo and I liked to flirt with each other a lot but we never really did something about it because we‘re just friends. And we just like to flirt for fun. Thats it. I think..

As we were ready we put on some clothes and walked outside the bathroom, our hair still wet from the shower. Pansy sat next to Draco, putting her head on his shoulder as he wrapped his arms around her. I had to smile at them, they always made me smile no matter what they did. Draco always acted cold towards eveyone around him, besides from his friends of course, we are like family. But he acted really warm around her which made me happy for both of them.

I sat down between Blaise and Mattheo, making myself comfortable laying my legs over Blaise his lap and my head on Mattheo‘s tigh. "Why am I always getting your girls legs?" Blaise complains with a little smile on his face. "Oh shut up you love my legs." I say winking at him which just made him laugh and shaking his head.

A few seconds later I felt a hand in my hair, massaging my scalp which made me purr a little. "Like that?" Mattheo asks, grinning down at me. "You know I do, Matty." I sigh, closing my eyes and enjoying his touch. "Your hair smells really good when it‘s wet. What is it, peach?" he asks me and lowers his head a little bit to my hair. " Oh so my hair only smells good when it‘s wet? But yes, it is peach indeed." Mattheo chuckles at my answer. "No it always smells great. It just smells more intense when it‘s wet."

Suddenly I heard a gagging noice which made me lift my head and see Blaise fake gagging. "Can you two take a room?"

"You‘re just jelous because you‘re alone." Draco snickers from the side, stroking Pansy‘s back. I laugh at his comment before I get a death glare from Blaise.

We all get interrupted by our phone‘s ringing. I take mine out if my pocket just like the rest did and saw a notification from our group chat. Yes, I made them get a phone a year ago but they all only used it between the holidays. Never in Hogwarts. But I did and I also made everyone of them an instagram account a while ago but Theo, he only joined this week.

Theodore: Yo guys we‘re on our way with all the groceries get ready for some drinks! And aye y/n this app you showed me is fuuuull of hot girl why didn‘t you show me sooner dude! *picture attached*

I laugh at his message just like the others do and answer him.

Y/N: I told you but you didn‘t want to join! 😤 I‘m getting the glasses 👀

As i send the message i stand up and walk towards the kitchen to get some glasses and shot glasses. "I‘m gonna help." Mattheo speaks as he stands up from his spot and follows me.

As I grab some glasses from a shelf above me, I feel his presence behind me. "Are you smelling my hair again?" "Yeah it‘s kind of addicting." He admits and kisses the top of my head before he grabs some glasses too and brings them back to the living room and sets them on the table in front of the couch.

I turn on the tv and switched to netflix putting on some random show for some background noises. Just in time Theo and Enzo came trough the door with bags full of alcohol and some food. "Hey guys, just put it on the table, glasses are ready."

"Yo Y/n we got something for you." "What is it?" I wondered as Theo pulled out a big bowl of fruits, handing them over to me with the words "here principessa, you talked the whole fucking flight about the food and especially the fruits here."

"Oh thank you thank you!" I hugged them both tightly and opened the bowl exited to eat some fruits right away. As the first piece of melon hit my tounge I moaned dramatic, sitting back down on the couch. "Ugh I love it so much. Here guys, try some fruits."

They all laughed at my behavior and took some fruits out if the bowl. "Wow these are really good." Blaise nodded, eating a piece of pineapple.

I took out a strawberry and put it to the half into my mouth, slightly sucking on it as I looked over to Mattheo, holding the bowl out to him as he was the only one who didn‘t take some.

He sat down to my left and took the other half of my strawberry, eating it while looking into my eyes. My cheeks flushed a light color of pink and I had to look away which made him smile.

"Come on guys let‘s drink something." Draco says standing up and taking the first bottle, looking towards me. "What‘s that? Jim Bean. There‘s an green apple on it, does it taste like that?"

"Uh- a little bit, it‘s strong alcohol like firewhiskey but with a hint of green apple." i tell him.

"Sounds fire." he says and pours something into our glasses, mixing it with Coke. We all took one, cheered and took our first sip. "And? You like it?“ i ask Draco with a smug face on my face. "Yeah i like this muggle stuff more and more." We all laugh at that and continue drinking and chatting, also planning a little bit what we‘re gonna do the next few days.

A few hours later we are all drunk, sitting on the couch and on the floor, but all around the table, playing uno. It was only Pansy against Blaise, the rest of us already lost. Blaise lay‘s down a wish card, seeing Pansy has only left 1 card. He thinks for a sec and says "blue" before Pansy springs up happy and dancing, throwing her blue card on the table. " Uno! ha!" Blaise groans in annoyance and lets himself fall back onto the couch.

"Let‘s play something more interesting guys!" Pansy suggests." Somethink like.. never have I ever or.. truth or dare!"

"Truth or Dare!" I giggle, taking an empty bottle from the ground. " I have a perfect app for this guys! It‘s called piccolo." I took out my phone and put all of our names into it so it could give us our first quest.

Draco and Enzo tell us about your most embarrassing story ever.

We all look at them, waiting for them to tell. Enzo tells us how his pants ripped at a date and Draco claims nothing embarrassing has ever happened to him but Pansy tells us how he sneezed into her face at the first dinner with her parents.

Theodore, choose someone‘s glass at the table and drink it all.

Theo groans and try‘s to take the glass with the least drink in it and chooses Mattheo‘s who has a little less in it then mine.

Mattheo, fill up your glass again.

Now Mattheo‘s the one who groans and does as the phone tells him to.

Y/n, choose your left or right for a at least 10 second kiss.

My eyes widen as I look to my left and see Mattheo grinning and to my right Pansy. "Sorry Mattheo." I giggle as i turn to my right and look at Pansy. She has to giggle too and comes near my face.

"Damn boys am I dreaming or are you seeing the same thing I do?" Theodore asks as he gawks at us.

"Shut up and be quiet!" Draco hisses and looks at us too. "Let‘s give them a show." Pansy giggles and pulls me closer. Our lips meet and I can‘t help but smile against her lips.

"Shit.." i hear Enzo whispering. She giggled against my lips as she hears him too and as the 10 seconds are up we seperate and look around us. They all look at us with big eyes and drooling mouths. "God what is it with boys that they find it so hot when teo girls are making out." Pansy asks.

As I lean back into my spot, Mattheo leans right next to me, his lips beside my ear as he whispers inside it "i don‘t know if i should be jelous or lucky to see something like that." My cheeks heat up again but I try to hide it with rolling my eyes and answering " you‘re a little pervert, mattheo." But I still have to laugh.

"And they‘re gone." I hear Blaise saying, which makes me look at them again to see the last bit of Draco and Pansy before they leave the living room and stumble kissing inside of their shared room.

I shake my head chuckling, Theo shouting "Use condoms my kids!"

Enzo, choose someone to drink against you, loser has to do the cleaning.

Enzo looks around the room and grins at me. "Oh my god why.." i half laugh and half whine as I take my glass and start drinking as fast as I can but Enzo is way faster and smashes his glass back down onto the table it almost broke. "Ha! yes!" Enzo celebrates.

Theodore, choose someone in this round and give them an interesting task.

Theo thinks for a moment before his lips curl up into a devilish smile. "Y/n.. " he starts "choose someone of us to give a lapdance to."

My face heats up at his words and my mind starts to think who to choose as I stand up to walk over to Theodore, but a pair of hands grip my hips and pull me into their matching lap. "Don‘t you dare pick someone else than me little peach." mattheo‘s deep voice echoes in my ear.

I look over to Blaise and tell him to put on a song for me. "Damn she really is gonna give him one." Enzo chuckles as he watches me standing up again in front of Mattheo.

Blaise puts on a song which comes out of the music boxes beside us.

I take a deep breath in and out, hoping not to embarrass myself in my drunken state.

I take his hand and leat him to an empty arm chair besides the couch.

I start slowly circling the chair, my finger gazing his shoulder and his chest as the music starts. When I stand behind him I grap his hair and softly pull on it so his head throws back. I arch my back and lower down a bit until i tease him with brushing my lips against the skin of his neck, making him shivers in his seat. I get back up and walk around the chair again, still touching his arm softly.

When I stand in front of him I put my foot on his chair between his spread legs, slowly tracing it with my own fingers. I know how much he loves me legs, he always told me. That was the real reason why Blaise always got the legs. Because I wanted to tease Mattheo.

I saw him gulping and his hands twitching as he trys not to touch my leg. I take my leg back to the ground and arch my back again, pushing his legs together and sitting on his lap in one smooth motion.

I hear the boys whistle at my move and I have to hide a smile. I slowly start to grind on his left tight, after a minute on his right but not with too much pressure, always just brushing and gazing touch.

I looked at Mattheo, him biting his lower lip and looking down at my hips grinding. I stand up again, turn around and bend over with an arched back, shaking my ass.

After that I took a few steps towards him but still with my back to him and sat down on his lap this time, leaning my back against him and slithering one arm around his neck so his head was at my shoulder. I started grinding my hips slowly but this time with more pressure. "And you wanted to do that on one of them?" Mattheo whispers in my ear, laying his hands on my moving hips.

Without answering him I stood up as the song was over. They all cheered and clapped their hands together which made me laugh and blush. I sat back down on the couch looking over to Mattheo who stood up, his hands hanging in front of his crotch.

He walked over to me, sitting beside me with a little frown to his face which made me gulp. "What‘s wrong?" I asked him quietly so the rest wouldnt hear, even tho they were already distracted by something new. "Nothing." he mumbled and looked at the still running tv. "Come on tell me, we‘re best friends. I can see somethings wrong."

Then he looks at me with sharp eyes, taking my hand and putting it on his lap. "Does this feel like nothing to you, y/n?" he asks with a low voice, my eyes going wide as I felt him hard in his pants, because of.. me?

Without even thinking I grabbed him trough his pants, making his eyes go wide. At first he looked at the boys, then at me. "Y/n.. " "Mattheo.."

Suddenly he grabs my shirt pulling me towards him and crashes his lips against mine. This time my eyes go wide as I feel his lips against mine. They feel soft and full, tasting like the apple whiskey we drank all night long. His hands roam over my body, feeling almost every inch of me.

I lick his bottom lip before I let him explore my mouth with his tounge. "Fuck you taste so fucking good." he breathes against my lips.

My hand is still on his lap, feeling almost paralyzed as i didn‘t move out of fear what would happen next If I continue. But I could feel how much harder he got from our little makeout session.

"Mattheo.. we have to stop." I whisper against his lips, my forehead against his. "But it feels so good.." "I know it does, but we will regret it If we don‘t stop, okay?" He groans and takes me by my hips, pulling me on top of him.

"Y/n, please. I beg you. Just make out a little more with me, I need this." he slurrs, obviously still as drunk as I am. That‘s why I blame my next decision on the alcohol.

My hands grab his shirt and I pull him even closer to me, brushing my lips against his. "Tomorrow we‘re normal friends again okay? Nothings going to be awkward or different, because we just make out a little.. like friends do, helping each other just to ease a little. Promise me." the words come out as a whisper and he nodds, agreeing to them. ".. I promise."

Desperately he closes the space between us, taking my lips in for a heated kiss again. My hands were on his hair, slightly pulling on some strands. "Do that again.." he groans. I pull again and a strangled moan leaves his lips making me shiver on him.

He arches his back a little, bucking his hips against mine. He shudders when my hips move back against his, still sitting on his lap.

"What are you even doing to me, Peach – huh?" I hear him say before he traces down an invisible path down my neck, leaving light and wet kissed.

– thats all I remember before waking up in my bed in the morning with my head hurting like hell. I groan and try to get up, wanting to take a shower. It sounds like the rest is still asleep so I walk into mine and Pansy‘s bathroom, taking off my clothes to get into the shower. With one last turn I see myself in the mirror, my eyes widen. What the fuck.

I had a hickey right between my breasts and one on my collorbone but it was really small and almost bot noticeable. Who was - shit Mattheo.

The trailer is just. Gorgeous. In every way. The feeling of dizziness, infinity and confusion it gives is impeccable, i love the way everything flows together, i love the gorgeous 3d models and the horror of not really knowing what's real and what's fake. And ofc Japanese Shmilk is ohhhh my god 😳😳😳

Ok so pv doesn't appear to be going alone, he's accompanied by GingerBrave, Strawberry and Wizard who appear a bunch of times, and White Lily, who in pretty sure only appears in the beginning. But in a lot of scenes pv is alone, making me think that he's gonna get separated from the rest after some point.

With the epic releases we've had accompanying the beast and awakened ancient releases, there's been a pattern of the first epic being someone who's on the beasts side and second being someone who's on the ancients side. It's only happened twice though so both of Shmilks epics might be on his side tho. The cookie with dark hair gives me butler vibes. The one with white hair looks like the type of character who appears cute and sweet, but it's secretly fucked up, sorta like Haetae. That's all i can say about them for now

Other than that, the rest of my thoughts are pretty scattered, so let's see

1. Love the music

2. Love the chess and the taro cards and the circus and the eyes theming. Not enough mirrors tho

3. Love whatever the hell this thing is

I really really hope we get some answers about either Blueberry Yogurt Academy or Dark Moon Magic, ideally both, which is what i think this is about

4. This Cookie reminds me of Crimson Moon Acolyte but i may be tripping lol

5. If anyone still had doubts about whether we were gonna get glimpses of pre corrupt Shmilk, i think it's pretty obvious now that we are

6. If this update doesn't make pv's character any more interesting to me I'm gonna be sad (i think he's boring)

7. Again. Where the heck White Lily gone

She appears at the start a couple of times, but the very next scene after the puppeteer one, she's gone. She also doesn't appear in later instances of the rest of the gang appearing, then running up the stairs, getting sucked into the nefarious vortex and on the chess scene. I wonder if Shmilks gonna gaslight pv about that, knowing how important she is to him. Plus Blueberry Yogurt Academy connection again

8. THE STAIRS. I've been listening to Stairwell by Nick Lutsko religiously waiting for this update you don't know how happy i am to see the goddamn stairs. This song to me is from Shmilks pov, singing about pv and "she" is Lily

9. Since when is Shmilk snake-coded. I'm living for it tho

10. I just realized i think the reflection is showing a Shmilkified version of pv. New costume anybody? (Don't have too many hopes for this tho lol)

11. The title screen, again, is gorgeous, probably one of my all-time favorites

So what can we see here? Once again, like with the other beast updates, the presence of the beast is overwhelming, and the hero appears small and insignificant. We can expect this turning the other way around in the second half of the update, though i imagine it will be a bigger change than with Mystic Flour/Dark Cacao and Burning Spice/Golden Cheese. Simply because i can't see pv being in the same position as sm here tbh

We only see one of the new cookies? Where's the second one?

There's cutouts of the other ancients in the picture (and they appear elsewhere in the trailer too) which makes me think that, just like Shmilk compares pv to his past self, he's gonna do that shit about the other ancients too. Just to say like ohhh you have this potential to become evil too you know, all of you.

My theory from a while ago was that Shmilk was gonna show pv the past of the beasts, showing that they too were good and driven by a desire to help others and spread kindness, which could make pv sympathize, because he's a softie like that. Which would then either corrupt pv or make him want to try to "redeem" the beasts and want to help them, which the beasts could obviously abuse. From The devs pov, that's a good way to hype the fans and tease pre-corruption costumes, which i think are 100% coming at some point. (Btw i don't think the coty costume Mystic is gonna get will be her pre-corrupt one, simply because i think that's planned regardless. She's gonna get a different, unique one. Plus, coty costumes are legendaries I'm pretty sure, and i think pre-corrupt costumes are gonna be epics, maybe specials, but deffo not legendaries. Watch me be wrong tho). Similarly to how Dark Cacao got so miserably helpless in his story and Golden Cheese was so physically and mentally drained in hers, i think Vanilla will be in a similar state before awakening too, but he's gonna have to break out of the illusions Shmilk feeds him, so maybe like. He's gonna get very very close to corrupting as a result of Shmilks influence. I hope I'm making sense here lol

12. Last thing i think. The decor set is gonna be sick

Still, to appease the more radical purebloods and future death eaters, Snape must have internalized some of that anti muggleborn propaganda that Voldemort was spewing and the hatred his Slytherin friends were spreading. Although I'm aware that majority of the wizarding society held some superiority over muggles and I even believe many of the so called good purebloods (like the Potters) were condecensing to muggleborns sometimes, tho unknowingly, there is a difference between quiet prejudice with no ill intent and the radical bigoted beliefs that some of the wizards held. The death eaters clearly believed that muggles were human sickness and muggleborns were no better and Snape was around that rhetoric every day and later became part of its circle. I always just saw Snape as a selfish person who tried to gain more power and a sense of belonging and he was insecure enough to believe many of the bigoted beliefs that was part of Voldemort propaganda or just the overall hardcore prejudice. He called muggleborns mudbloods even when he was Lily's friend. I always imagine him as someone who would dismiss Lily's feelings about slytherins and even gaslight her about Voldemort's propaganda and her worry behind anti muggleborns rhetoric. Like he downplayed it while participating in it at the same time. We can see this with any real life prejudice existing in our world. Many people who are homophobic try to create reasons for disliking gay people and when gay people complain about their hatred, they just downplay it, make it seem like its not that big of a deal or just continue with their excuses. I can see Snape being like that. And even if his reason for joining death eaters had nothing to do with violence and hatred, he became part of it anyway and being part of something like that influences the way you think especially if you wanted to be part of it. He also became part of it during the time the violence was already known and that certainly did not stop him so he must have had some prejudices or highly ignorant beliefs towards muggleborns.

It seems like you're very determined to apply a strictly logical, real-world mindset to a fictional, fantasy world. I get that imagining a Severus Snape with deeply ingrained, extremist, anti-Muggle biases would make more sense in a real-world context and may feel more "realistic". But that wasn’t the point of Snape’s character. This is a story, and not everything needs to follow real-world logic exactly. Even in reality, not everything unfolds as expected. Snape’s character is, in many ways, an exception—he surprises audiences frequently and makes choices that don’t always align with his past actions or logical expectations. Some of these contradictions seem deliberate; Snape has to exist in this gray area for the story to hold its depth and ambiguity.

So, while Snape does associate with future Death Eaters and, at times, seems to justify their actions, that doesn’t mean he fully internalized all of their views or intended to act exactly like them. Lily did a similar thing, in a way: she mentions that she often tried to excuse Snape’s behavior or overlook his mistakes. But we wouldn’t conclude that Lily agreed with or had adopted Snape’s beliefs. Another example is Peter Pettigrew, who is almost Snape’s opposite. Peter was sorted into Gryffindor, the very house that upholds Dumbledore’s ideals and values. He surrounded himself with people destined to be future Order members, yet look at what he became. Peter didn’t just reject his friends’ beliefs; he betrayed them completely and was loyal to Voldemort for years, even plotting his friends' deaths and stayed loyal to Voldemort for years afterward, to the point of risking Harry’s life for Voldemort's return.

I don’t deny that Snape held biases and some prejudiced views, whether as a teenager or a young Death Eater. But, as I mentioned in my previous post, there’s no solid evidence that he was an extreme racist, a torturer of Muggle-borns, or someone who delighted in the idea of “cleansing” the wizarding world.

As a personal opinion, I also feel that comparing real-world homophobia to anti-Muggle sentiment in the wizarding world isn’t quite the same. Muggles and wizards have a long, tumultuous history, and at one point, Muggles persecuted wizards to the extent that they had to hide their world to ensure safety and survival. This isn’t a distant past—Hagrid even mentions in Philosopher’s Stone that Muggles would likely exploit wizards if they discovered their powers. So, while homophobia is irrational and baseless, anti-Muggle sentiments in the wizarding world, however wrong, are somewhat rooted in historical fear and survival. It’s no surprise, then, that the wizarding society hasn’t fully let go of its anti-Muggle biases, even after the wars.

Rolan's birthday party was going at full tilt. The study, usually a calm, organized space, now contained a flurry of chaos and shrieking laughter. Cal and Lia had insisted on decorating the space--totally aware that anything outside of a few tasteful centerpieces would irritate Rolan. So, naturally, Tav encouraged them to run with it. They'd insisted on a series of drinking games and urged Rolan to perform two impromptu magic shows. 

They'd laid out a meal on Rolan's desk--chicken adorned with candied rose petals and a squash soup. 

And, of course, wine. Ample amounts of it. The three of them had unanimously agreed that it was a necessity. 

...they had also pitched in to buy a dry red from a Waterdeep merchant. It was pricey, and it was potent, but Tav was sure Rolan would love it.

So, as the four of them sat chatting, teasing Rolan for aging up an entire year, he poured himself a goblet of his wine, lifting the cup and smelling it. He took a sip. Then he took another. And then he swallowed a large mouthful... 

...only for him to immediately pinch the bridge of his nose and loudly clear his throat.

"Feeling alright?" Tav asked gently. She touched his knee.

Rolan blinked, squeezing his eyes shut and then reopening them. "Fine, fine," he said, his words running together. He'd already had a few glasses before popping the cork on the Waterdeep wine... it wouldn't be much of a surprise if he was feeling a bit warmer for it now.

Tav exchanged a look with Cal and Lia. They could both tell that Rolan’s new, unfocused gaze was likely because he had one too many.

They plied Rolan with some bread, which he chewed on absently. 

Tav lifted the imported bottle to her nose, taking a drink. The alcohol sting was enough to make her eyes water and her nose go numb. 

"Why don't we pick this up tomorrow night?" she suggested. His siblings were in agreement.

While Lia kept passing Rolan food to soak up the alcohol, Tav and Cal started clearing away the meal.

"Rolan? Love?" 

Tav stepped into the study. She'd helped bring everything back down to the kitchen, stepping away for a moment.

And now... Rolan wasn't here.

Shit. 

She’d been gone for a few minutes. Panic gripped her in a vice and she cast her gaze about, searching for him.

He was standing on the balcony, staring out on the city below.

"Rolan?" Tav crossed the room. "Do you want to go to bed?"

He didn't answer, not immediately. His eyes were wide and bright as he looked down on the streets below—it was lovely, how the latticework of buildings and lanterns set everything to glowing. They looked down into a web of moving, living light.

Rolan was quiet... pensive even. He gripped the rail, the veins in the back of his hands sharp against his skin.

She joined him, taking in his profile, questioning if he was feeling well; she considered if she needed to pull him back from the rail if he looked fit to retch over it. She doubted anyone would want to be hit with a sudden dump of vomit from this height.

"I don't say that I love you enough," he said finally.

Tav blinked. "Is that what has been bothering you?"

"Of course it's bothering me!" he snapped. 

He was still a touch drunk—he was fumbling his words, and as he gestured at her, he jarred his elbow on the rail.

"Why don't we continue this conversation later?" she said. 

He glared. "No. I want to talk about this now."

Gods, he was belligerent to begin with, but when he had one too many cups of wine in him? He could not be swayed. At all.

"Let's at least continue this conversation inside--away from a several story drop," Tav said.

His shoulders loosened. "Fine, fine."

She offered her hand to him, which he took. He was warm. Almost feverishly so.

"I love you," he said, a petulant edge to his tone.

She smiled softly. "I love you too."

And then, Rolan stepped forward, bent his head, and pressed a messy kiss to the corner of her mouth. 

Tav inhaled a short breath. His lips were rough, chapped from the cold and stained a purpling black from the wine. 

His kiss turned into an embrace. He buried his face into the crook of her neck, pressing his nose into her skin and breathing her in.

She held him close, running a hand through his hair.

"I take it you enjoyed your gift?" Tav asked.

Rolan huffed against her. "Some of the best damn wine I've ever tasted."

She bit the inside of her cheek to stop herself from laughing. "Good. Happy birthday."

She pressed a soft kiss to his sweat-damp temple.

Unpopular opinion but......

Am I the only one who misses the og marauders? The marauders fandom isn't even about the marauders now, 99% of their canon personality traits hv been replaced with cliqued behaviour. For some reason there's a massive obsession with their sexuality and I just don't get it? Lyk can't u have a character with any sexual orientation with personality traits outside it anymore? Does there really need to be a complete erasure of their most defining traits? I just wish we could get the actual marauders era characters back

James Potter: Pureblood, rich, intelligent, arrogant, a bully, but extremely loyal; took Sirius in and turned into an animagus for his werewolf bestie when the whole world would have shunned him; he could have led a life of utmost comfort but chose to risk his life and fight for those he loved in a war that didn't even concern him personally. His last words were asking his wife and child to escape while he tried to hold voldy off without a wand

Sirius Black: Haughty, a bully, extremely good looking, cool, rich, blood traitor by 16, comes from a family of literal death eaters, very intelligent, loyal, will do anything for those he loves( especially james and later Harry), thick as hell (my boy really survived in a depression prison for 12yrs, tht too after all the horror he'd seen before that), dark, very traumatized and broken

Remus Lupin: Gentle (yup u read that right), kind, mischievous (ppl really overlook this), very insecure, let james and Sirius bully Snape coz he was too thankful for their acceptance and affection to tell them off, considered himself undeserving of love, his self loathing prevents him from being a responsible adult/ parent for Harry, lowkey manipulative. Very compassionate and empathetic even after everything he's been thru tho

Peter Pettigrew: Considered slow and stupid, insecure, tags along with the others for protection, but obviously cunning and manipulative, a disgusting rat tho

Regulus Black: Teenage Reggie worshipped death eaters, he had newspaper clippings of them on his wall, completely believed in those racist ideologies until he realised what the reality of being a death eater was. He tried to bring voldy down but there's no evidence of him completely changing his beliefs about everything else like muggle borns, muggles, werewolves etc. Very cunning and intelligent tho, he discovered voldemort's secret before Dumbledore did. Liked kreacher but kreacher was also brainwashed with pureblood ideology, so I ll only give him half the credit. Bravely sacrificed his life in the end, but he still chose to protect his racist family.

Lily Evans: muggleborn, good at portions, described as popular and vivacious, pretty, the favourite sibling, isn't afraid of standing up to ppl (tht smirk in swm tho?), very brave, and most importantly (ppl really choose to forget this nowadays) a mother who stood in front of her baby boy in hopes of saving him from the darkest wizard alive even tho she herself was only 21 at the time, tht too right after losing her husband. Tho I'd still say that lily is a badly written character

It's fun to explore characters but not one of these core characteristics r even present. They're turned into one dimensional social justice warriors who r always right in everything they do

Now I get it, ppl want them to fit with current day ideals, but y not just create different/new characters then? What's the point of holding on to that nostalgia if most of their character isn't even there anymore? Where's all the toxicity coming from? And anyone who doesn't agree is homophobic and whatever other -phobic u choose to employ in the most irrelevant context ever. It's all so stupid smh🙄

Lolirock

So I recently watched the entirety of Lolirock

And it was... Okayish

The story itself wasn't bad, but a lot of it feels very incomplete.

So let's break down a few points:

Story:

The story itself wasn't too bad. I liked a lot of the ideas. But since this is directed to a younger audience, a lot of story plot was very predictable sadly enough.

And it didn't bother me that much that Iris was in the centerstage most of the time. Unlike later season Bloom, the creators didn't make things that aren't related to Iris about Iris. There were a few moments yes, but I never thought "wait, why is it about Iris, it's not about her!" Unlike (sadly) with Bloom in Winx where she gets the Spotlight for no reason

Princesses:

I do really like the transformation and animations for the princesses. Although I do feel odd about Lyna and Carrisa having different animations and songs. They look good, but since they don't have a similar transformation like Iris, Thalia and Auriana, I feel like it just says that they aren't part of the group. Which is kinda true since they are absent for 75% of the time in season 2. (Fr, where are these two the entire time?)

And I get Iris is the main character and all, but the creators make Talia and Auriana look so useless and weak for most of the time. And then Talia is able to beat their asses on her own, yet struggled to do so five minutes before.

Also Talia is the best, defo my fave from all of them.

Magic and Ephidia:

Similar to the story: it felt incomplete. Like things aren't being explained:

What's Ephidia? Is it a continent, is it the capital city? Who created it, what's so special about it?

What are the oracle gems exactly? Are they amplifiers or a key, WHAT ARE THEY? and why do they only show up in front of Iris? Is it cus she's the crown princess or why? Who knows: things aren't getting explained.

And how does the magic work? Is it just crystals? Can they use elemental powers as well? We see them use levitation and time spells as well soooooooooo?

And what about Dark magic? Do you have to be born from it, is it an emotion you redirect, how does if work?

And can we talk about Iris's different transformations? They look epic af but.... How? Can only she do it? What exactly is it? Like a different stage or is it a temporary a power up? Can other princesses do them as well or not?

And what exactly is Amaru? A dog, a pegasus? A shapeshifter animal? How does his magic work? Why can he summon a giant battlefield out of nowhere?

And what about the other magic kingdoms? We only saw a tiny bit of Xeris, but what about the others?

I wish they not only explained a little more about the magic, but also showed us more about the magical world. By doing that, it feels more alive, more

Gramorr is the most useless fucker there is

He's being portraited as this all mighty powerful wizard but then he just sits in the throne room doing God knows what, maybe looking at tarot cards with Banes who knows....

He doesn't do anything, just screams when an oracle gem gets to the crown, and yells at Praxina and Mephisto bc they are so 'useless'

Like dude.

If they are so terrible at their job and you are "oh so powerful":

DO IT YOURSELF?!?!

Also, stop blaming everything on the twins cus of your laziness!

Praxina is the worst.

He's the one literally working with the enemy to save your ass TWICE and even almost died a few times (or just.. died after what happened) and what does he get? Not even a thank you. Also he's so sweet? If u can look past all the evil things he did, you realize that he's really sweet and not that evil and he really cares for his sister (even tho she's a bitch).

And the time he and Iris worked together and said that he would be honored to serve her if he was on her side?

Listen, if he's not on Team Lolirock and just dead in season 3 imma be so pissed.

critical role: by someone that hasn’t seen any of it

hi so we recently got into dimension 20 and our friends have been tugging us towards critical role for a very long time at this point but we still haven’t watched any of it nor do we know all that much about anything that actually happens in it. however we do intend to actually start watching soon so we decided it was the perfect opportunity to make one of those ‘all the things i know about this thing i haven’t watched’ posts, show it to our critrole friends, and then actually get into critrole and be able to look back and laugh about it later

Well then, I shall share some cute little details, facts and initial ideas with you then!

Imma just put this under a read more for any potential spoilers tho

Eclipse when he was a child used to wear a large white witch hat with a star at its end that always flopped into his face

Killcode went into parenthood entirely blindly and scrambled to figure out what a child needs

Eclipse totally enjoyed seeing the kids in his overtly cutesy child clothes

Sun and Moon, who might not show up so that's why I'm sharing, are a witch and a wizard in that exact order. They live in a tower in the middle of the woods (Sun's forest), and much to Sun's chagrin, Moon barely avoids not blowing it up

The original idea for WH first chapter had Ruin in it as the kinda flirty apothecary but he was scrapped

The monster wasn't supposed to be what it ended up being as originally, and I felt so saved by my past self for making the rabbit heart purple

Solar Flare will appear later on in a chapter

After the sequel will come a prequel about how KC and Eclipse met and developed their relationship

Star is a fox because foxes are my favourite animals, and I also wanted a cheeky pokes your eye out kinda reference to the Newton Star from canon

Eclipse knows multiple form of divination, and in the original idea for WH there was supposed to be a tea scene with a still very doubtful and suspicious Lunar, where he's drinking tea and Eclipse preforms Tasseography on his cup

Eclipse usually wears skin tight dresses, but he does have some puffier dresses still

WH takes place in the wilderness of Hungary, and all the desserts that are described in the first city-visit-scene are traditional hungarian desserts, and the flatbread is meant to be lángos (this is the reason why Eclipse is using Adriatic Sea as a form of measurement)

There's a reason why Eclipse is the most powerful witch in the world and we're gonna learn it

We will meet KC outside of the prequel, but I ain't telling in which chapter exactly

Solar Flare may be a potential love interest, though it might just stay as a qpr option for Eclipse

I read up on divination so much for this oneshot, which is cool cuz I have a pack of Tarot cards that I should really get back into, and it was this fascination with Tarot cards that gave me the first idea for WH. It was initially supposed to be more about divination, especially with Tarot, but the other forms of divination are also so fascinating

I did lots of research into paganism for it too, which I do hope shine through. Eclipse's tradition of honouring the hearth of the house with food for example is an actual pagan custom

I initially got the idea to write WH when in the SEA comments Hazard asked me whether there'll be any mama Eclipse

Sunray and me were watching Ghibli movies while I was writing WH, so the song from Howl's moving castle where the demons are falling as shooting stars from the sky and Sophie is looking as Howl makes his deal with Calcifer is on a loop in my mind whenever I think about the main part of the manor (partially because of the scene with the same music where Sophie is holding the candle and venturing into Howl's room in her dream)

Some point we're gonna make another planter box and grow some nasturtiums and statice (aka wavyleaf sea lavender!!!)

also later today we're gonna go look on the way to the markets at a candle shop and see if they sell lily of the valley or lavender essential oils so i can make scented candles (i specifically want lily of the valley tho, i wanna know what it smells like)

The “rules” were to list 9 books you’ve read and loved this year (buuuuuuut sorta. lol I started reading more again last year after a reading lull and also I got distracted by some, so Imma sprinkle in ones that I started and then got distracted from)

The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler Adult hardboiled crime, 1939

Started this one last year because I got bit by the hardboild noir gumshoe whatever-it-is bug. So I decided to go to one of the (what my research said was) greats and work my way out that way. It did have a very interesting beginning setup, and that's about as far as I got before We Will Devour The Night was released and...then the crime was traded in for political backstabbing. Was a good start tho, and I'm going to come back for it. I actually did this year but I started A Rival Most Vial at the same time and it became A Problem. So help me, I'm hopeless lol

The Darkangel Trilogy by Meredith Anne Pierce YA, 1982, Fantasy, vampires and gargoyles and ghostly brides oh my!

Picked this one up after reading The Firebringer Trilogy and I really wanted to read more by Pierce. It was a pretty interesting read as far as I got, which was about...middle, I think. Application of the creatures was fun, and I'm pretty sure there was more yet to discover about the world that they're in. Can't wait to dive back in.

A City Without Birds by Alexandra Ding YA Dystopian Sci-fi, 2023

This one was a wild ride. A new discovery around every corner, horrible memories popping up for our poor protagonist, little chips hidden under the skin, and of course I love a good mentor that helps keep our young always-in-danger MC aware of the situation and doing his best to keep her out of danger and informed at the same time.

The Unschooled Wizard by Barbara Hambly High Fantasy, other worlds, magic and swords, 1987

This one I've had an on-off relationship with lol, but I am determined to finish it. Some day. I found it among my dad's things after he passed, and given everything I learned about Fantasy at the start was from him, it felt like a good bet I'd enjoy it too. Also I'm a little gremlin, lol. Good world building, evil wizards, mercenaries. It's got two books in one, and I finished the first one (The Ladies of Mandrigyn) a while ago. It's been start and stop with the second but I got far enough to know I'm going to be interested when I pick it back up again. Also one of those that I abandoned when a certain Star Princess came back around.

We Will Devour The Night by Camilla Andrew Fantasy, magic, politicking, and dicks erotica, 2024

Aahahaha, the book that lured me away from other books last year. Couldn't help it. Read the first book in 2023 and so it was a case of I couldn't wait to see what the second book had in store and I already knew some of the world from the first book, so in I went! Parallel plotlines, an expansion on the world and the magic, with enough story and relationships left for the next one.

Rhythm of War by Brandon Sanderson High Fantasy, lots of travel and creatures, 2022

One of the poor stories abandoned for something else. I think this one was chucked for The Spirit Well. But I was having a hard time with it anyway. I love Roshar so, so much but the book was so, so long. Got about halfway. I am going to go back. I can't not go back. The magic system, the world, the...Kaladin. Kaladiiiiiiiiiiiin. Anyway. Now that I'm Kaladin thinking of Kaladin I might get back to Kaladin sooner rather than later. Kaladin.

The Spirit Well by R. K. Ashwick Fantasy, adventure, espionage, bards doing wildly dangerous things, 2024

The lovely Bard and Spirit and Scholar that I scampered after once the book was released. The magic is so much fun and Aspen was worth abandoning the other books for. A bit less light-hearted than the first book, but every bit as fun. Also I did talk at the book a few times and screamed once. Or twice. Might have kicked me feet and giggled a little as well.

Daughter of the Dragon by Anmol Kahn Fantasy, Dragons, Magic, Evil. 2020

D R A G O N S. Good old-fashioned dragons. This one had adventure, taking back the kingdom, and evil generals trying to take over all the kingdoms. Was a very enjoyable ride! Also dragons.

I started this one after watching the show after I got into the show thanks to watching Critical Role's second campaign. Of course Vax is my fav and the series got me interested in the twins mostly, so when I heard they were starting a book series on Origins I decided to start with them :P Only got to the first few chapters before other books beckoned me tho. sorry for the late reply, i wasn't really sure how to answer this, like. yknow most of them are dead or we see what they're like as adults? but i lowkey just realised you probably meant in like an au setting 😭😭

so i see lily as becoming a healer at st mungos, her & james having a few more kids later on (haven't really thought like. their ages & names or anything tho), i also think they'd stay together like. their entire life. i do not seem them divorcing. so yeah, obviously her job is a big part of her life then she spends time with her family & friends when not at work. and then later on i see her being promoted to head healer.

i mean i said a bit relating to james already (having more kids, staying married to lily), but also i think he'd be a stay at home dad. if this is like, war happening still but they just don't die, then he'd be hired freelance to hunt down rogue death eaters. he also runs a kid's quidditch team for fun. but like. mainly a stay at home dad/husband, makes all the meals, goes shopping, cleans up the house, looks after the kids, etc.

sirius would also have the hired freelance to hunt rogue de's gig with james. but he'd also work in like a wizard garage y'know? mechanic for both muggles & wizards lowkey & for wizards he offers illegal charms (like flying/invisibility). probably on and off with remus ngl & sometimes dates other people when they're off. perhapsss becomes a throuple with jily <3 also has a bunch of pets fr

remus still becoming a dada teacher but obvs sooner & for more than 1 year. and i feel like he'd stay there for a long long time, don't really see him wanting to be promoted to like head of house or anything so just stays teacher. then ofc off & on with sirius but dont think he'd get with anyone when they're off (maybe other than peter)

peter tries his hand at politics. goes into the ministry & works closely to the minister after getting promoted lots. tries to run for minister but lowkey fails 💔 and just remains fairly high up in the ministry (like working kinda directly under/for the minister), he'd prob have a few diff relationships but not sure they'd be super long term

ALSO!!! using this as an opportunity to post his updated lore. I didn't like his original lore at all, so I rewrote it practically from scratch.

It's going to be really long tho so here we go

Ok so I'll start off by saying Morgan's family is no longer cursed, nor are most of them dead, only Morgan being affected and not just randomly at some point of his life, but rather he was already born sickly (whenever it's somehow related with magic or some curse is still up for me to decide,but now, he's just a sick child whose illness (which is kinda fictional but resemblances anemia) while not terminal,does affect him quite a lot). I decided to get rid of that concept entirely and rewrite the dynamic Morgan has with his family, esp his uncle.

Other than scary, that experience was very isolating: he was sheltered all his life before going to Hogwarts, having absolutely no friends at all, which resulted in him developing no social skills at all. He wasn't particularly close to his family either, with perhaps an exception of his uncle, whowas more of his tutor/teacher.

Now, as I mentioned before, Morgan was born a very sickly child, having lots of heart and blood issues. He spent a good chunk of his childhood in bed and hospitals, constantly falling very ill, to the point of falling in coma/almost dying at least several times during that period of time. Fortunately, by the time he got into Hogwarts, his condition got manageable and he could live a relatively normal life, although he would often feel unwell, some days better, some days worse.

But being on verge of death so many times, especially as such a young child was a very scary and traumatizing experience for him, but a part of him grew accepting of death, coming to terms with the fact he probably won't live much shorter life compared to his peers (not talking about dying at 20-30, but rather ~50 now, a lil more if he gets lucky).

Whenever he wasn't in the hospital, he'd spent most of his time reading books, his favorite ones were horror novels and astronomy books, the later becoming a big interest of his. At around 8 years old, he started to write his own short stories, taking inspiration in the horror novels he read and they often were rather disturbing in nature. Or so his parents thought. He stopped sharing his writings with his family at some point bc he could tell they didn't like them much.

However, he does still live through the death of some of his relatives, witnessing one of them, which was of his uncle. After that, he started taking interest in necromancy (soon disappointed he can't really make someone truly alive again) and then it escalated to interest in dark arts in general. He'd read upon biographies of dark wizards and their crimes, but purely from theoretical standpoint. He found it interesting what pushes people to commit such terrible crimes.

When Morgan got to Hogwarts, his poor social skills didn't do him much good: he had a lot of troubles socializing, he was seen as weird and creepy, especially because of his interests. He had no friends there, being a "weird loner kid" throughout hus first few years there and even though he doesn't mind being alone due to being an intovert, he craved to find someone who'd understand him, somewhere to belong, a friend.

By the time of Y2/3, he came up wirh an idea of his own book: about a prisoner in Azkaban who reminisces his life, how from a kind-hearted teacher he became a dark arts user and necromancer. He started to do his research, especially about Azkaban and it's when he developed his strong distaste for the imprisonment system MoM imposed.

The more he researched, the more he was convinced on how nonsensical the system was: why lock up ALL criminals in the same place? Why lock up petty thieves, who perhaps only did that to support themselves due to economical issues with dangerous dark wizards, the worst kind of people on Earth? Why punish people who had no other choice so cruelly rather than help them? Why is there only one prison? Why not build rehabilitation centers? Why make people suffer for their crimes hoping they won't commit them again, rather than understand what pushed them to commit them in the first place and help prevent that from happening?

At some point, he approached one of Slytherin prefects, the one he knew was a son of a minister and aspired to become one day too, Joaquin Reedus, to ask him what he thought of idea of reforming the system to create rehabilitation centres for petty criminals, so they would have to stay in Azkaban of all places. Reedus was intrigued by this young boy and his idea and told him that he'll think about his proposal. And then, after a few days, decided to ask if he was interested in joining a group that opposes sone of ministry's ways (without mentioning the group's name).

Morgan, very young and naive, saw it as hid opportunity to find people who thought alike, people who would accept him, to find people he'd be able to call his friends. And so, he agreed.

The group was NOTME.

And unfortunately, that group was not as considerate as Morgan hoped they'd be.

BG3 Durge run: casualty list, sunmary etc. Durge spoilers.

I absolutely loved this run. Durge is like playing a completely different game! The plot is fantastic, and the dialogues are hilarious and very clever.

My Durge looks almost exactly like this! Love this tattoo design.

Party: Durge fighter, Astarion, Shart, random hireling sorcerer. Picking Duergar was a Choice, their movement is dogshit and they keep getting stuck on jumps 😭

Act 1

Gale: maimed, presumed dead. Unless Mystra took pity on him.

The Grove: bloodbath. Stole everything that wasn't nailed down.

Wyll: dead

Goblin leaders: dead. Minthara tried to shiv me when i picked Astarion over her, should have rerolled just to see her romance scene but it was late and I was tired.

Karlach: dead. Attacked me on sight yelling about the Grove massacre, which was weird but cool. How did she knowwwwww.

Laezel: dead, because she tried to shiv me when i was sick. Otherwise we were besties 😭

Act 2

Oliver: squished

He Who Was: openly likes me, headcanon dating.

Last Light Inn: bloodbath

Jahira: dead

Isobel: dead

Yurgir: freed from contract because i couldn’t trick him into yeeting himself

Nightsong: dead

Shart: Dark Justiciar mode.

Durge plot: think I'm figuring it out. Orin is getting slapped later.

Daddy Thorm: dead. Surprisingly easy to kill when everyone has misty step and range.

Githyanki plot: pretty much ignored.

Romances: dating Astarion, flirting with Shart.

Durge has slayer form which everyone else in the camp thinks is gross, but Durge absolutely loves it.

Act 3

Picking and choosing quests is fun! I'm already level 8 so can easily ignore stuff that feels too "good" to be of interest.

Somehow my general terribleness has made me Chronically Single. So I had to bang drow beef without the offer of a foursome. Sigh. Choosing the "kinky" options was hilarious.

Kissed and made up with Gortash. He's a good guy really, very swauve. Looking forward to killing him later.

Ascended Astarion. Went at level 10, fight was surprisingly easy now I know the mechanics of the power boosts. Also having Turn Undead is big and clever. Watching Cazador scuttle like a cockroach was very cathartic.

Murder tribunal: Met Saravok, he was fun! Chatted about the old days, killed an elephant, bathed in some blood. Good times.

Nightsong redux: Robbed Lorroakan while he sulked about the Nightsong being dead. Astarion can now summon Ghouls. (Genuinely, just hopped on downstairs and cleaned out the vault. Not a single combat reaction from anyone. Bugged? Or just wizarding hubris? Didn't try to take anything from the main tower tho as I didn't need the robes or staff.)

House of Grief: Shart turned about 1/4 of the adds to our side, so it was a surprisingly easy fight. Shart is now God's Extra Special Princess.

Orin: died in 3 turns, just went Slayer on her and ripped her apart. Fun! Astarion has a new sword.

Saravok redux: Durge has a nice new sword and hat. Although he did one-shot me at one point. Don't know why I expected anything other than a fight, honestly.

Gortash: roasted by the Netherbrain. Saves me killing him I guess. Bit annoyed that I couldn't loot him.

Ignored Raphael and Orpheus completely. Gave the Emperor the Netherstones. Pretty much zero Githyanki plot on this run, as it seemed pointless with Laezel dead.

Netherbrain: much harder with only 2 sets of allies! Blinding the dragon helped, and for some reason the mage got stuck and glitched, so I consider the fight Cheesed By Accident.

Ending: murdered the Emperor, dominated the Netherbrain, turned my party into thralls, ruled the world as Bhaal's Chosen. Epic end scene, absolutely brilliant. IN BHAAL'S NAME!

I would advise you tho think what class you want out of two - think or thonk

Because all classes can be separated into those two typed. "I want to come up with a good and interesting solution" and "I want to hit hard!!". Usually casters are a Think class, like Bards and Wizards and Scorserers, and Fighters and Barbarians are a Thonk class (but there are exeptions, Warlock IS a Thonk class, trust me XD)

A little bit of story before the poetry:

We were in a sea tavern and my character was robbed and then later whole our ship was attacked once again by same pirates. Their Captain was a red tiefling with one horn named Tut Oreal (yeah tutorial) and between the moment I got robbed and the attack I wrote this masterpiece of pure SPITE. During the session while the rest of roleplay was going on XD

I'm really intrigued by your automaton au. What's the origin of the hatred with witches? How did it start? What was it like during Sun and Moon's time serving the king? How is it now in Y/N's time?

Also, how did Sun and Moon end up in Y/N's relative's care? Is the body their in Moon's or Sun's (cause of the cracked head)? Was Y/N's relative part of the witch hunts or is he just some crackpot collecting magical junk?

Hi so thats a lot of questions you have there, i have mentioned some of that stuff in older posts but ill answer some of them for everyone who doesnt want to dig around for older posts.

So whats up with the hatred for witches? For that we need a small crash course

So the whole world of the automaton au is permiated by magic, its everywhere and in everything.

witches are the link between the old ones and the humans, they have been around forever. Every human can technically become a witch, though some are more naturally talented. The only real prerequisite is that one has to get along with atleast one of the old ones.

The magic of witches is directly tied to the old ones. There isnt really a rule to how because it really depends on the individual witch and the old ones and their ralationship but one thing is always the same, its a give and take situation.

And then there are wizards who developed from a fringe group of witches who tried to amplify their own magical powers without the help of the old ones. Over the centuries that fringe group started to get more and more political power. Turns out people rather just have power without having to also give something in return.

Well the Wizards started to go to war against the old ones and the witches whos purpose it is to keep balance between the humans and the old ones became enemies of the wizards. The wizards started campeighning against witches, calling them traitors of humankind for working alongside the old ones. That escalated until witch hunts became a thing.

Though all this only happened in the "developed" lands which the wizards had fully cleared of old ones (so only around the bigger cities and the capital). And with wizards having a big political power the hatred for witches became the norm around the "developed" lands witch witch burnings happening till a few decades ago. Now witches are still hunted and looked down upon but its less of an immidiat danger to be in the "developed" lands as a witch (still wouldnt reccomend it tho)

How did the guys end up in Y/Ns granduncles hands?

Well at some point Moon kind of went mad killed the ruler that made Sun kill their lover. It was a few years after that had happened tho. In that time the guy had made both of them be in the front line of witch hunting, they had worked as old ones hunters before for other rulers but humans was a whole other thing. Especally because they started executing whole families of witches children included. So yea Moon ripped that guy apart and they got decomissioned. But for some odd (spoilery) reason they were not destroyed but sealed and thrown into a lake on the palace grounds, never to surface again. Until they did resurface around a hundred years later(by that point the palace had been rebuild and the lake didnt belong to the palace grounds anymore), got found by a junk collector and got sold around as antiques for a while untill falling into Y/Ns granduncles hands who kept them for a few years before dying. So yea.

Is their body Suns or Moons?

Its Moons. Sun exploded himself out of grief and despair so yea they are in Moons body but the peple putting Sun in there also installed his rays into Moons head for the aesthetic, Moon didnt have those before. (Im just gonna say this now, they are one being anyways they were allways tethered together even when they didnt have the same body they could comunicate through a shared link. There is a reason for that but its highly spoilery)

Was Y/Ns granduncle part of witch hunts?

Yes he was. The audacity of that guy, really. He even ratted out one of his older aunts to the authorities when he was young. Luckily at that point they had stopped executing whole families for having a witch in them and most witches in the borderlands were just ignored. But that aunt lived stealthily in the "developed" lands and she was taken in and never seen again. So yea that guy worked for the wizard councel and was actually a quite important guy he deffinetly was majorly involved in witch hunts when they still were a thing.

(At the same time some of Y/Ns relatives swear that Y/Ns granduncle actually protected his family and or witches in general against witch hunts, but probably thats just wishfull thinking on their part, not being able to belive that the guy would be so cruel)
