I don't remember whether canon revealed Tim's specific Hit List contingencies or not, I lost that comic book awhile ago.

So I'd like to make shit up and invite people to add to the list. “last two days in shanghai”: A completely fake series of events typed up by a cpf. 🤡🤡🤡

well, i think the title of this post is disclaimer enough as it is. lol. i’ve initially talked about this here and here. this will be about the events that happened after the second link. so it’s the morning of the race and there are videos of wyb and xz here and there. i am actually slightly changing my stance on xz’s intention. i think he wants us to know that he is there. enough to be photographed leaving his hotel and nothing else. the usual plausible deniability card he and yibo are so good at.

so let’s start with a run down of events: we all know yibo won. by 5:00 PM we had videos of WYB’s win already. it was a happy affair. then around 8PM we received news that WYB is nominated for Huabiao Awards. after that, we got some talk of XZ attending Stefanie Sun’s concert at around 9:30. this was later confirmed by videos and XZ posted about it himself so much later in the day. please note that the 9:30 time when was the news made it to the internet, when it actually happened was earlier.

now here comes the clownery-interpretation.

no one knows where xz is after he left his hotel. yibo already won by 5PM, tho there was still time in the podium. so was that enough time for him to attend Stefanie Sun’s concert? absolutely. please see below:

so proximity wise. it’s very possible. there are also talks of how xz came in late. some attendees said he was there during the 3rd part of the concert, and was seen leaving the audience section before the program ended. well, i’m thinking he might have already been there, backstage or whatever VIP section earlier. people only learned he was there when he came out and stefanie mentioned him. this is his idol and his fandom lol so i would imagine that he wanted be there on time. tho being a bit late is okay too cause he still had to spend time with his champion racer boyfriend 🙄🙄🙄😤😤😤 there is a repo from a concert goer that he left around 9PM. yibo on the other hand was seen leaving the track at 9:30. so coordinated!

xz was again spotted returning to his hotel at around 11PM. so it is possible that xz watched wyb’s race, watch the concert and they still had time to go celebrate. 🎉🎉🎉🎉

XZ being spotted at a concert is the perfect alibi of sorts. he can say he was there to attend the concert. but if you look closely and observe the time, there is a huge window that is unexplained. Of course i’m not removing the fact that XZ did want to go. this specific concert is to celebrate her 25th year anniversary as a singer so it’s really special and any fan would surely want to watch. but it also happens to line up perfectly with bobo’s race.

now i’ll quickly run down a few cpns floating around……

first is how the caption is formatted, it’s so similar to yibo’s birthday post

the photo of the nutcracker that he shared was during the song 真的 ( really ). maybe he just liked how it looked but the song itself is pretty telling. if we are talking about this and interpreting it in the CPN context. that weekend specifically, they both had to go through a lot to spend time together. but they did. love is not always easy!

Moving on —Sunday, was another race day and sadly, yibo couldn’t continue competing. he made it in time to attend Huabiao Awards. XZ then went back to Beijing and was spotted around 10PM. again. so much time in between for XZ to watch Bobo again!

lastly, i wanna address the cpn about the black tent. some are saying that it’s a possible place for xz to be in there but was later was said to be where tires are stored. others are saying that for sports like this, the emergency contact should be present. i was holding off talking about that cause when cpfs are hyped up, we tend to over interpret. and that’s dangerous. we all fall for that one way or another, and i think it takes time to be more discerning. all cpn pieces should be taken as what they are — cpn. made up. fiction. i don’t know how i can make people understand that xz being there is not a fact. it’s not a matter of what “evidence” was there or whatever “washing” was done. the default fact is that xz wasn’t there.

so i hope people will not be too glass hearted when a different explanation for cpns comes up. this is all fiction. we won’t know. just enjoy the fandom! don’t take it too seriously. 💛💛💛

In the Marauders’ dorm, next to Sirius’s bed, on his night table, was a jar. And on this jar was a label “Tattoo Cash”. Every so often, Sirius put some cash in it. Some money his parents gave him — which was very rare — some money he made as a bartender during the holiday break, or when he gave some astral divination to Muggles.

Anyway, he always found a way to make money, no matter if it was Muggle or Wizard money. And slowly but surely, the jar was half full. Sirius didn’t care if the tattoos he’d get were magic or not — magic ones were expensive but so cool — he just wanted tattoos.

But what Sirius didn’t notice was the fact that the jar was getting filled by other people. James always put his pocket money in the jar every so often. He spoke about it to his mum one day, saying that Sirius had a jar for his tattoos, and she insisted on giving more money to James so he could help his friend. And James — this fucking sweetheart — put all his Christmas money in.

Peter always put the coins he had in his pockets, trying to be more discreet than James. He always found a way to ask his father for some money “It’s for Honeydukes, Dad, please” while doing some puppy eyes. And he put all his money inside the jar. Well… not all. He always kept a few Sickles and Galleons to buy some chocolate for Remus.

Remus did the same. He put half of his money from tutoring in Sirius’s jar, keeping the rest to spoil Sirius and his friends — also to buy some books. Remus even brought another jar, a bigger one, and Sirius didn’t notice a thing. To be fair, Sirius wouldn’t notice he was watering a fake plant for years before someone told him.

When Regulus came into their dorm — for reasons we’ll keep secret — he noticed the jar, and every time he came, he’d put some money inside it. He found it so cool to have a brother with tattoos, and he always hoped that one day, he’d get some tattoos too.

A few months later, Sirius stopped in front of the jar, confused to see so much money in it. He was so fucking excited to get his very first tattoo. He took the jar, went to a money exchange shop, converting all the Muggle money into Wizard money.

He didn’t take anyone with him for his first tattoo — it was a moment he wanted to experience alone. It was between him and himself.

His first tattoo he had was a magic one, around his wrist. Two stars, moving on his skin. Regulus & Sirius. The brightest star in the constellation Leo, and the brightest in Sirius’s life. And of course, his own star — the brightest in the constellation Canis Major.

The first person he ever showed his tattoo to was Regulus.

“It’s you. Yeah. Of course it’s you,” said Sirius softly, smiling as Regulus twisted his wrist, observing the magic stars turning around it.

okay that would totally be more practical but consider. someone should say no fuck that im making my book in my own vision and my vision says focus on just one color <3 i Would be the sort of person to read this lol. but other than people like, using format really creatively i think left/right would be the standard.

SQUIRREL GLASSES…..god thats so amazing i love this. there'd be such a huge industry for daemon-related gear wouldn't there. like boots for everyone who doesn't just want their bare paws touching every surface ex. in bathrooms or whatever. daemon clothes…and daemon accessibility tools!

i tend to default to daemons can do whatever a human can--so, anything daemons pick up on is processed through a human brain, right? so i actually think daemons cant see beyond the colors a human could (and if human-half is colorblind, so is daemon-half). course thats just a preference thing so i think daemons being able to use the abilities of the species they are ALSO makes sense…i feel like i go on a case by case basis lol. maybe its a practice thing--i could see it where someone COULD learn to echolocate as a bat, but a lot of bat daemons wouldn't bother since it involves translating senses across species which must be Very Hard. basically i think daemons are animal-shaped but not actually animals, which would sorta limit how well they can understand the way that animal would see the world.

incorporating these different colors into tech and shows WOULD be super fun, though. love that idea.

god the stigma around witches (/people with no or larger-than-average ranges) must be awful. i feel like its totally possible to stretch your range and in some professions they wont even allow you to join if your range isn't on the longer side. so people who literally aren't even severed but DO have these larger ranges are also caught up in all this--its like, this byproduct of how humans see the world? bc i honestly imagine severing is lowkey more complicated than people tend to see it. back in my wolf 359 days i was really interested it it…this idea of like, you survive being severed, and how you figure out who you are--never the same, but being new isn't a bad thing. so, some people choose to stay together, some people choose not to. but i imagine this is a small community 'cause most people the shock of severing kills you, and medical advice is 'push back together at all costs' which would ALSO kill people! (if in a less obvious way)

this is so real but i also tend to ignore that part of hdm lol i really just take daemons and run w/ it. also religion isn't my think so i dont have too many interesting things to say about it. i think speculative fiction being the catch-all makes a lot of sense tho. feels like there might be more range there too--like its not as narrow? idk

i'd LOVE to get more research on brain death in a world with daemons…like, when does the brain actually die? i wonder if theres a period of time where the human brain is still working, and maybe that brings up questions of when daemons become dust--like, is there a set period of time where a daemon turning into dust could be saved? could there be brain death but not daemon death? since this is an entirely fictional world the answers can be whatever is most interesting for the story which i love

teen acting truly just keeps getting worse <3 no escape its SO bad. and GOD yeah i imagine if someone settles in a long-running show they might just work it into the plot, but if its like a movie maybe they have stunt doubles specifically for this sort of thing. i imagine a human actor with a daemon actor (so they aren't the same person, two separate halves) wouldn't be Very Fun, but i could see this being the general solution. or terrible cgi but i think cgi for daemons would be pretty frowned upon bc its like, you can tell RIGHT AWAY that its fake. unless they also cgi the human lol.

hello !! what are your thoughts on actors and acting in a world with daemons ? how do you think they would work ?

oooh this is super interesting...i've been thinking over this most of the day and i honestly think there wouldnt be a lot of like, huge and drastic changes. i do think people would cast for appearance of the human actor AND the daemon actor, so there would 100% be casting calls that would be like 'canine daemons only' because whatever character youre auditioning for would have a canine daemon.

BUT ALSO i think there'd be like. daemon costumes!! for places where you need a specific form but your actor isnt settled as such--like, maybe youre doing a documentary about a real person who settled as a parrot, and your actor is AWESOME but a rat. so there's a rat with a parrot costume :3 i feel like this would be more common on stage than on screen (think like, if youve ever seen the costumes of lion king on broadway, thats sorta the vibe i could see), since i feel like CGI tech would make it a tad easier to pass off one animal as another.

like i dont think cgi would replace a daemon actor entirely (to me thats like casting a human actor, and then using cgi to turn them into an entirely different person) but you would use cgi like how cgi is used today, like i know some cgi is used for costuming and stuff. so maybe a daemon has a sort of green screen type costume and thats how you get some species-changes, but like, their face and general shape is still their own.

on the same thread of movies/tv/shows etc, i do think on average there'd actually be less characters per show...like a show in our world would have four main characters, but a show in a world with daemons would have two--because the daemons are characters now too! so this might mean acting is even more competitive than it is today, since there's just less roles even if theres the same number of productions.

tho this varies based on how you present daemons in your world lol, in my 'ideal' sort of daemon-world they'd get as much sceentime as their human counterparts so you'd just have to cut down on total characters, but i write worlds where things are Not good for daemons lol.

along those lines i bet theres also daemon forms that are more vs less likely to get cast--i tend to go canine + feline are the most desired and thus like. "uplifted" forms so every hero has a lion etc, so if you wanna act but youre a sea slug you are going to struggle a LOT to be cast, bc productions would be like sorry we just need dogs <3 i think there would be a mammal bias and i wonder if there'd be anti-discrimination laws passed about this? i feel like that would be really contentious in-universe though, like a thing often argued about--people like, there are totally roles for snakes! (theyre only villian parts). or you can get cast with a fish daemon! (you will never get a main part and most of the time cant even get an extra part because its "too much work" to make the space fish-daemon accessible.) basically you can take this a lot of ways too!

yeah sure! so i personally wouldn’t say protocol is doing what ofmd did in terms of ~canonizing fandom~ because all the references to past events or the reappearance of archives-verse characters are in service to the building theme of doppelgangers/people who are almost you (also the writing is way tighter lol) and importantly, the main characters arent the same characters from archives so it’s not like theyre completely re-writing previous characters’ personalities to work better in fandom context

honestly what i see happening is rly interesting where i will listen to an episode of protocol saying one thing and come on here in the tag to see people completely reinterpreting said thing to fit better into the idea of a ~magnus archives…2!~ they personally have. which was bound to happen bc tma is so loved and projected on that for a lot of people the show they love is completely different to the show that aired but i do wonder how it’s affecting how people are understanding protocol now when there’s such a disconnect for some people between what’s happening and what it’s being interpreted as

Been rereading time&tide recently. What a ride but I'm wondering what shape does the path of forgiveness take for Anakin when the options are so limited. Even in canon it just never seems to me like Anakin ever forgave obi-wan after the deception arc. It looms over them so much.

this is a great question with a bit of a complicated answer so far because tbh i don't know entirely yet! because the forgiveness part hasn't really been written down in notes on chapters yet, i feel like i still switch ideas and paths that these characters could go down whenever i consider the next few chapters (i.e., does anakin really leave the order?)

i do think that this next part of the story will not solely focus on anakin's grief and betrayal and feelings about it - time & tide IS a deception arc story, but it's not JUST a deception arc story because anakin didn't just carry on with his life until he found out about rako hardeen like in canon. in the fic, he also does things to the obi-wan in the past - not necessarily Bad™️ things of course, but with the identity shenanigans of anakin pretending to be someone else and starting a relationship with obi-wan when he knew he was vulnerable and going through grief of his own and then purposefully breaking his heart....like that's also a lot for obi-wan to process and maybe even want an apology for when he finally meets aristel again (or, an anakin who knows what it's like to be aristel)

which is not to say either that those things are on the same level of betrayal that faking one's death is, but it does make forgiveness more complicated and pure fury a bit more self-righteous in some ways imo

so basically time&tide's future isn't going to be obi-wan groveling for anakin's regard or anything so cathartically one-sided as all that. they need to have an honest conversation about all of it, not just taking turns yelling hurts at the other person

tfw it's going to be even harder for me to write/draw spooky fake peppino moments after this update comedically defanged him for a scene, even though:

1) it's a movie Noise wrote / directed / paid off the bosses for, and FP being scared off by yelling could easily be tied to that context (either because he was indeed treating it like a game and therefore was less persistent / more easily startled, or because he was asked to be more of a wimp, or both)

2) it's implied to take place a decent while postgame since Pizzahead and Vigilante are in the same room together and Vigi isn't trying to apprehend him like the credits implied he was going to do, so FP could have just mellowed out more in that time and/or Noise also could have gotten used to him. like FP seems pretty relaxed and just a little confused in the ending scene too, he's chill

there's a lot of ways you can interpret this shitposty joke moment so I'm a little bothered the immediate go-to for most of the fanbase is "fake peppino is a sweet baby who was never creepy". I personally read it as FP nervously retreating like "why are you yelling at me I did as you asked :/"
