Furina — The Preservation; girl kept acting for five hundred years and never once wavered as said by mirror-her, tenacity that would make Qlipoth proud. Their ideal for justice being the continuation of existence, sacrificing both her humanity and divinity for her people. It's plain simple.

The Tsaritsa — The Nihility/Finality(?); Still not 100% because we still don't know her story, probably more attuned to the destruction due to her and the Fatui's goals and actions and "burning away the old world". But I can see her as a Self-Anihilator like Acheron or the Stellaron Hunters.

Since he's a divorced man, he's not super eager to jump back into the dating scene. He didn't really come to terms with his divorce until he met Ichiban, at which point he's been out of the game for so long that he may as well be entirely new to it.

One thing that does motivate him in a romantic sense is that he has a newly ignited drive to do better and be better than he was before. He can't guarantee you much but you know he will be putting in the effort. 110% or nothing for our Tomi.

I love exploring different dynamics and facets of a character and Astarion is no exception. Especially since his character has so much depth it's incredibly fun to play with! I love making Tomie's Astarion ruthless and cunning but being incredibly tender but firm with her. I also love her tendency to be a bit of a brat and lovingly pushing his buttons. They have such a fun dynamic and I love playing it.

There has been quite a few new mermaid manga and I'm welcoming them all.

Sai Naekawa: This Monster Wants to Eat Me My favourite of the bunch at this point! Wonderful atmosphere of summer and horror (less extreme than in The Summer Hikaru Died though). Shiori is mermaid who wants to eat Hinako and Hinako welcomes it because she doesn't want to live anymore. Shiori won't eat her just yet though, saying Hinako isn't "ripe enough" yet. Yuri Shiori is a terrifying mermaid, not like the mermaids in the following two series. (and not to be That Person again but totally being That Person again: war era wataei... and just look at their appearance lol. It's more about similar feeling not all details)

Akihito Tomi: A Sinner of the Deep Sea Ok, if you want beautifully drawn mermaid bodies, here's your manga. It was serialized in Harta magazine, so I hope that already sells it for you. Jo's peaceful days under the sea get disturbed when her best friend Ryuu is imprisoned for revealing merfolk's existence to a human because she fell in love. There's a lot of Just Vibes but the story kicked in gear in the latter half. It's also veeery easy to ship Jo and Ryuu but I don't think anything will really happen?

Yoshino Fumikawa & Miya Tashiro: In the Name of the Mermaid Princess Honest fantasy shoujo which doesn't get licensed nearly enough these days. Mio is a princess but she's something not allowed in her kingdom, an unhuman, a mermaid, so that's been kept hidden. Due to some events, Mio decides she doesn't want to hide anymore and that leads her to an adventure. There's romance and many guys surrounding Mio plus some politics regarding the unhumans and humans.

My dude feels more like a concept ? He remind me of Tomie, with less blood on his path, of course.

Like, it feels like his whole existence is based on killing himself to give Juli his big crisis, which IS true technically, since the fact that he kills himself is literally what set up this whole thing.

The only thing we have about him are conjectures from people that didn't know him.

Juli said that Juli killed himself because he loved himself, I don't know if he really thinks so or if he's just trying to convince himself to ease his own guilt. Erich is convinced Thomas loved Juli, and that it's why he killed himself. Which one is right ? All we know is that Thomas always read the books that Juli read, so there's that...

As someone that find Thomas #relatable, I'd personally say it's both ? He wanted Juli to see him, to know or at least want to know him. Because he loved Juli. And if making Juli suffer would make him keep his eyes on him, so be it. Is it incredibly selfish ? Yes. Traumatizing people by killing yourself and telling them you did it because of them is, surprisingly, not a great way to make them understand you truly love them. But sometimes, when you feel like you can't reach anyone, desperate situations calls for desperate solutions. Thomas is also 12 at worst and 14 at best, and he seemed to feel very strongly, so yeah, maybe thinking things through in a mature way wasn't his best suit.

We also have next to no lore on him, which contribut to the "he's actually a concept rather than someone" vibe I got for him. Like, what's up with his brother ? I NEED a follow up on why exactly he was expelled. And what about his other brother ? And his parents ? We know the brother went to the same school has him, and that his mom cried a lot at his funeral. I don't care that he was cute and a good student ! Tell me what he was like as a person ! What was he like ? I thought this was called "Heart of Thomas" not "You'll never reach the Heart of Thomas"

Manga recommendation 💐

Saint Rosalind" is two volume shoujo horror series from 70s. Written and illustrated by Watanabe Masako

The story follows little Rosalind. 8 year old girl with angelic beauty who's aunt just died in a tragic accident. Rosalind got aunt's beautiful clock and called it her treasure. The thing is that there is something special about this little girl. Rosalind never lies. There is also one other special thing about her.

Wherever she goes, death seems to follow.

It just so happens that whatever Rosalind wants, she gets yet owners of those "treasures" seem to always meet tragic fate.

Oh boy, I wanted to talk about this manga for EVER.

It's extremely intriguing and just sucks you in. In just two volumes, so much happens.

I think what makes it so special is that it combines grotesque and gory themes with emotional story telling of shoujo manga. Which ends up really engaging you with the characters and creates this kind of mystery of what can happend next.

"Saint Rosalind" has also a lot of religious themes, Christian to be exact. Till the end you are not sure whether the story was that of supernatural or not. It's really up to your interpretation whether the story was that of a demon or something more human... or at least human shaped.

Something that can be either the biggest turn off or just the reason of what drove you to it is this classis shoujo artstyle. For me of course it was a plus.

Like I said I think what really makes this series so good to read is it's shoujo inclinations that elevate the mood of the story. Little sparkles that show up set the mood of shock yet mystery at the same time. I think Rosalid with her sparkly eyes and long eyelashes that at times hide her eyes really add to the horror.

Some other titles of horror shoujo you might wanna know are: "Pet shop of horrors", "Hell girl" or "Screaming lessons"

(and yes I am deliberately not talking about "Tomie" here since that's something that pretty much almost anyone is already familiar with)

It's hard for me to truly sell the hook of "Saint Rosalind" without going into specific chapters of this manga but I think you will get what I mean after reading just one chapter. And if that won't be enough I will just say that if you like horrors about dolls i think you will have fun with this one as well. Similar vibes that's all.

I am going to list everyone single one of our persecutors, protectors, and gatekeepers. It'll be a lot, and probably triggering. If you are easily triggered, please don't read and take care of yourself. Lots of love, Miku/Melody. So, we have five gatekeepers: Colleen, Maleficent, Mark, Miriam and Miso. Colleen manages memories, Maleficent handles switching and front stuck sessions, Mark handles dissociation spells in the front. and Miriam plus Miso handle new alters and tracking symptoms int the system. Beside this, they also have other roles in the system, such as organizers, social protectors, etc. Out of the five, I think Maleficent has the most personal growth. She used to be a bitch and hated everyone for wrong reasons, but now she changed, and I am very proud of her. Miso and Miriam are pinning for each other, Colleen is vibing in aroaceness, and Mark is just trying his best to understand everyone's problems. Now, we have a lot of protectors. Abeles, Angie, Deja/Draxton, Jayden, Lake, Larry/Larbear/Astro/Azzie, Mark (yes, our gatekeeper also), Miriam (also gatekeeper), Miso (also gatekeeper), Rylan and Tomie. The protectors range from social protectors to physical to sexual protectors. All of them either love their role or hate it because of why they formed to do this. Now, our persecutors are Rylan (yes, one of our strongest protectors is also a persecutor) and one of our hosts (Kaleb). They constantly struggle with this because they cope with self injury and isolation. Even though they do this, they are trying their best to stop and heal from this which is very difficult.

Idk if it’s been asked but if Pecha and Rawst did pokemon contests which pokemon (singular or multiple) would they pick as their partner(s)?

ahhhh I love contests!! I wish Unova had them so I can have some coordinator ocs. I just love Unova too much to deviate from it very much.

but to answer! (and also I took this as a small excuse to doodle possible contest outfits for Pecha and Rawst...)

Pecha would probably still have her galvantula, Tiki, but I like to think that she would have a Leavanny, possibly called Fashion, and a Ribombee, named Skrunkly cause he used to be on her battle team but I switched it for a Heracross in canon.

They just seem the prettiest and cutest traditionally for contests. (though I love the idea that Pecha would also use untraditionally cute bugs for contests like Pinsir and Beedrill)

Rawst still probably also has Annabelle, their Mimikyu, but I can see their team changing to use a Mismagius, whom they name Winifred, and Froslass, named Tomie. Pretty lady ghost types!

I can see Rawst using their polteageist, Beetlejuice, as well? He has a cafe vibe that is cute for themed contests. I can also see a Chandelure being used as well.

Anyway, I’ve talked a lot about Tommy without talking about Him, so let’s do that.

I was expecting Tubbo to be part of his group, but having him be there as just Tomys friend is so funny. It’s also adorable. (And it probably says a thing or two about how stubborn Tomys is, since he probably refused to go without him). Their dynamic very much gives “Your majesty, this is my emotional support best friend”.

Having Jack as a guard is giving me Stars flashbacks. Probably as intended. It’s funny that he is now Tomys guard instead of Wilbur’s. I was not expecting Puffy, but I probably should have. She’s there to make sure Tomys behaves, but she still has a lot of work to do about the etiquette. She also gives me the vibes of someone who deserves a raise.

Side note: did Niki or Quackity come with extra entourage? Like Niki was a baby, but Quackity was similar in age. Or is this unusual? (Also, I love the throne and crown, I’m sure that doesn’t have any ominous relation to certain tags on this fic)

Anyway, Tomys first impression reflects very badly on Sam. As we learn in chapter 3, everyone figures out why Tomys is there. And he’s clearly a bad first choice as a heir. (As in, if Sam were to die right now, Tomys would do terribly compared to Niki or Quackity).

He comes off as just a kid, which he is, but that’s not something you can be in this situation. None of the other kids got to have a normal childhood. On top of that Tomys is kinda a little brat, for a noble child at least, and not in the way those kids are normally brats.

But Sam seems rather fond of him. He’s very patient with him and all his blunders. I think he’s a kind king, but *looks at chapter 3* he’s not the brightest. It becomes very clear, very quickly that Sam did not think this true at all.

Like part of his decision process is wanting to decide something for himself because he’s self aware enough to know Phil is pulling the strings, but not smart enough to actually do it himself. So he brings Tomys and is all secretive, but then he didn’t talk it through with anyone and missed so many implications because he’s just living in his own world. But then he doubles down which is incredibly childish, but he wanted to make a desicion for himself and refuses to acknowledge that it’s backfireing (which is a very worrisome quality to have in a King).

Though I think some of it might just also be actually indecisiveness and wanting to buy himself more time to chose because he clearly doesn’t know who to pick based on how he asked Schlatt. He’s just digging himself a bigger hole and I’m scared he’ll double down further and will pick Tomys in the future just because Phil doesn’t want him to (can you tell I do not like Sam? Very good writing job on that, btw).

no literally I was trying to figure out a position for tubbo that wasn't 'personal servant' just bc I didn't feel like doing that for this fic, and when I couldn't come up with anything I was like "...it's clingyduo tubbo would come just as his emotional support bestie" and then I thought back to how in historical movies you always hear about nobles having their ladies in waiting/companions/friends showing up with them everywhere like an entourage and I was like huh that would work

lol yeah after stars I'm a bit of a sucker for writing jack manifold as a guard again. he's just so good in that type of role, although I'd say he's going to have a smaller role here than he had in stars (though who knows I also didn't think stars!jack would play a very big role and look how that turned out). and of course tommy needed an adult chaperone so I thought of puffy. she's so tired of this shit.

yes, niki and quackity both came with entourages of their own although I'm not going to mention them bc I can't think of characters they'd be and I don't like throwing ocs into my fics for more than just a few lines here and there. except since niki was brought to the palace so young she essentially came just with her nanny and some guards, and when she was eventually given ladies in waiting they were provided by the palace not by summerdam. quackity was a little older so he showed up with a tutor, guards, and probably a private servant. still working out details on backstory stuff you know how it goes

yeahhh the thing is tommy's immaturity is pretty prevalent right off the bat, and while he's not overly bratty by noble kid standards, by potential future heir to the kingdom standards he's terrible. and it says something about sam's ideas towards leadership that he only just met the kid and has a bit of a soft spot towards him, because he doesn't know tommy. not at all. but he thinks he does.

i'm glad you don't like sam. he's meant to be a very messy character in rose. someone who so clearly wants to be good at this game he's playing but is just so blatantly not which causes problems for everyone else around him
