one second you're just tryna draw the silly little minecraft men the next you're having to learn how armour works

Of course after my previous post on infernal fashion I decided to draw wing- and tail-friendly Helldusk armour. Because we all want to see Raphael in this armour.

After studying the references (1, 2) I realized, that the upper part has two layers: the outer, more textured layer with "fangs" (claws? bony thorns?) and the inner layer made of 5 plates. It also looks like it's made of some organic looking material with golden sutures, rather than metal.

I decided to go with this theory: that it's some magical metal or not metal at all, that can bend like very thick fabric, because it's the easiest way to put it on Raphael with his wings, tail and horns (they won't allow to put it over his head).

I really liked decor on the back on the original, so I decided to keep it in my version. The "spine" is not only decorative, but also helps to "stabilize" different elements, along with the belts around the tail. I feel like without them, with the amount of gaps for wings and tail, plates would move around too much.

I drew both layers and added some commentary, because these schemes may seem convoluted without it.

Anatomy and geometry may be a bit wonky but I believe you get the overall idea what devil-friendly Helldusk could look like. And sorry for the typos and all that, I may going insane because drawing all that was a challenge I was not prepared for.

I kind of get why they left ventus out, hes left out of alot of the bbs outfit and accessory stuff (much to my fury, yes i have started toying with the idea of just drawing his keyblade armour myself, if anyone has the raw body/outfit pieces for him or anyone in dr or the union leaders i am desperate for them, his hair and outfit are very different between khux and the bbs flashforward and i amm just insane enough to put them in as separate things), it would be weird considering he is like standing next to you, to wear his future fit infront of him, but why is my girl xion excluded, like your going by trios why is sea salt trio not complete, like i know at the time xion was super dead but we all knew she was gonna get revived along with roxas in kh3

Maybe the pair there arent rox and nam and are data rox and data nam, thats a hc i can get behind, while im here i would love rox getting a new like post kh3 ending cutscene outfit that has more black in it to fit in with xion lea and isa, like i feel like it would work as a character growth, he has been changed by the life he has lived kinda deal, also nam needs a new outfit let my girl be fashionable

oho, ty!! ive actually been drawing more of it (and rewatching all of life of luxurys videos/trying to catch up on luxury dark), and considering maybe making it into a short comic/fic if enough ppl are interested:D

story stuff under the cut

OK SO my main idea for the story was that parker and chester were an engineer (chester) and stellar cartographer/some type of physicist possibly (parker) working in starfleet. (originally they were both gonna be from the same department but i thought it would make more sense for one of them to be an engineer in this au. i needed parker to be a blue shirt specifically so people would mistake him for a medical officer when really hes just The Stars Guy and we could have a scene like "you dont need a piece of paper to help people chester" sifjfjcj)

basically, its kind of a situation like the episode of tng where they have to go into a wormhole for Plot Reasons, but it turns out that one end of the wormhole is Unstable and they get STUCK super super far out of federation space in a tiny little shuttlecraft (well, the ferengi get stuck in that episode bc the humans have plot armour lmao)

basically the au would follow parker and chester as they try to get back to federation space, but parker is A Good Person so he keeps taking the shuttle off-course to answer distress calls to see if he can help. also occasionally they land on space-faring civilisations' planets just to like,,stock up on amenities or get some diversity in their environments so they dont go insane

every time they land on a planet, they end up in some crazy situation because theyre extremely unlucky. the lil drawings above are of two ideas i had (one of which is obviously the most recent luxurydark video but Aliems n with more of my storytelling style). i think the one with the romulan would be more like the life of luxury video where they were investigating the older brother who was neglecting his siblings? except they would be landing to try to answer the distress call of a crashed romulan ship with only one or two survivors and end up staying down there for multiple days to try to help

i do have a couple other ideas which ive been rotating in my head, if anyones interested in more of my insane ramblings shfhfjgj

Au(? Plot extension?) where Hueso is really understaffed post-Kraang invasion and Sunita has to help him out (she got the job through nepotism exploding frankie)

It was really fun playing with different proportions and styles of the uniform - I had a limited colour pallet cos both Sunita and the Run of the Mill uniform had set colours and I didn’t wanna stray too far from canon. I was also focusing more on the actual designs and pushing proportion so I didn’t flip the canvas (had to actually restrain myself from doing it but y’know) that’s why some of ‘em look janky.

Left: My friend really liked this one (something about the pants?). The whole idea of Waitress!Sunita actually originated with this one, cos I drew it (and another one I think) in my sketchbook. That kinda triggered an inspiration bought and I worked on these for like, two days.

Middle: At some point I got the idea to give her wraps bc (headcanon time) she struggles keeping her form for long periods of time. I don’t really like this one as much as the others though, and I think it’s because she hasn’t got a shirt on under her vest? Something about that annoys me idk.

Right: This one was really cute! I do like the idea of her having really long cuffs or using her wraps to ramp down her sleeves - I might reuse that in the final design. Also, the hair on this one really stuck out to me for some reason.

Left: Don’t ask her what the specials are or what her favourite pizza is. She will ramble for ages and you’ll never eat. Design wise, I really like this one, and I think it’s because of how the vest tucks into the apron and crosses over itself. Something about that scratches my brain.

Middle: This one’s probably my least favourite, just cos it’s kinda boring. It’s cute, yea, but it just needs a little more flair. One might even say it needs razzmatazz. Also the boys fighting over the last slice of pizza would drive her endlessly insane, especially cos she can’t whoop their butts while she’s working.

Right: I think she’d sometimes try and do things too fast and accidentally slip. Hueso would be very forgiving tho. The little braid is cute, but I don’t think it’s my favourite hair (goop?) style I gave her.

Left: After a bit of time, her workload would decrease and she’d have more breaks - giving her more time to mess around on her phone. Also, it’s not fair Leo’s the only one with a nickname from Hueso. I think he’d give most of the regular (teen) patrons nicknames.

Middle: Sometimes she takes her time with delivering orders to their tables (tho she mostly does it out of spite when customers are rude to her) and dances over. I think she and Mikey would get on really well (hence the friendship bracelet).

Right: She would probably get herself in trouble because she messes around a little, and she’d have to do some less fun jobs, like taking out the trash, as punishment.

Left: This one will probably be the final design if I make it into an actual au? It has all the stuff of the other designs that I like, plus’s some other flairs. I think I’d redo it just a little, maybe give her the wraps, cos I really like that idea (and the matching friendship bracelet with Mikey ofc)

Right: This one was the precursor to the wraps, with the idea in this post that she uses armour to hold herself together. I ended up scrapping this really early on because I didn’t like the armour design I made (too boring). I might reuse the idea later, idk. I did really like the little puff sleeves. I think this was the other one I did in my sketchbook?

Despite all her clumsiness, hyperactivity, and various quirks, she’d probably be better than most of Hueso’s staff, cos unlike her, they all run from the mafia bosses (and/or compete for unicorns, destroying the restaurant in the process).

my insane batshit gritty semi-realistic sapphic reimagining of barbie and the three musketeers

okay so many people were confused on if that last drawing of mine was just an oc named barbie or whatever but im here to tell you no! its my insane reimagining of the corinne in the movie barbie and the three musketeers, but sapphic and insane. so today I’m going to dump on you my insane reimagining of barbie and the three musketeers in a semi realistic gritty setting where they’re all sapphic and when they become musketeers they instead work to overthrow the monarchy. this is not a joke I've been thinking about this for months. like i will take alexandre dumas legacy and make it so gay and barbie.

okay so first things I thought of were weapons and such and what they could be replaced with in this setting cause most of the characters have things like ribbons and fans as weapons (and while that's so slay and I love that/never want that to change in the movie, I wanna make it semi-realistic in this gritty reimagining). so corinne’s weapon in the movie is a rapier so we’re keeping that. viveca has those two long ribbons (I’m sure they have a name but I forgot them sobs) and I think in my head she would have a two whips instead, whip dual wielder ohooo. renée has a slingshot (honestly so lame of the movie to give her that) and in my head she has a musket or pistol. aramina has two fans and I think replacing those with daggers would be really swag. and just to be clear all the characters in this version are aged up to be in their late twenties to early thirties.

for corinne, the story will follow the traditional ‘the three musketeers’ storyline but instead corinne is actively held back by her mother from going to paris and becoming a musketeer because her mother believes she’ll fall into the same fate as her father did and die. so she instead sneaks out because she feels like if she became a successful musketeer she could establish a comfortable life for her mother. in my head she's kind of like a cocky playboy kinda character where she's a little full of herself but has a lot of drive to find out what happened to her father and how he came to pass but also to succeed so she can take care of her mother better. like she's essentially the person who would ask you to fence shirtless because she wants to prove that she doesn't need armour.

for aramina I feel like her concept of a hopeless romantic can be made more complex if added with religious calling like for aramis in the original three musketeers. like she has a deeply religious upbringing but she cant stop falling in love with people and getting into trouble about it and it especially shows when she meets corinne and the others and; you guessed it, falls in love with them too. a nice mix of guilt and romance. she could have been a faithful follower of the church and been a nun but fell in love with one of the nuns and was caught and therefore shunned and punished, but she kept doing it again and again and her behavior became too obnoxious for the church to allow so they kicked her out, and she’s still plagued by this guilt while also wanting to follow her heart. she essentially ended up as a maid because her church rejected her and her family refused to take her back in on account of her sinning (rip) so she's essentially trying to find purpose in life while also overcoming this insane guilt she's carrying with her for her own desires.

renée’s story in my head follows that of a noble who then became a street musician and eventual musketeer. in the original musketeer story, athos was married to milady de winter [who was the villain] and attempted to kill her after discovering she was a criminal and then he became a drunkard about it because it made him so sad. for renée, she could have been married to a wealthy man that her family arranged her to marry but he was like, a bad guy and wasn’t really nice to her etc and also was a criminal on the run, so she tried to kill him because she was sick of his shit but her kill attempt ended up with her being fought off by him and excommunicated by her and his family (because they dont know he’s a criminal) so she ended up as a street musician and that lead to her being a maid in the palace and you know the drill.

viveca, the same as was in the movie and book as porthos, loves fashion and clothing and is always dressed super dapper and i feel like this could easily make her be a seamstress in the palace who directly works with the royal family when it comes to making them garments (alongside being a maid). she would know the internal workings of the royal family and be the person who could spy on the politics of everything the easiest out of everyone. i feel like she can put up a facade very well with the royal family where she can act like she’s totally into what theyr doing and not totally planning to go against them at any point like at all.

essentially they work for the palace as maids, one way or another, and do all the shenanigans of protecting the prince from getting assassinated by snooping around and whatnot only for them to turn around and be the people who go out of their way to assassinate the prince because they quickly realize that he’s kind of a shit head. they essentially side with the group of people planning the assassination which leads them into meeting a group of rebels and people who protest the royal family. there’s this journey to realize that the true villain of the story is renée ex husband she tried to super kill who became an advisor to the prince and king after the assassination attempt (and the old advisor was kicked to the curb). so the ex-husband is now doing evil whispery advisor nonsense where he’s trying to convince the prince that the musketeers all are actually planning his assassination (even if its true like how dare you sir ex-husband) and that he should execute them publicly and then provided a bunch of false evidence to ‘prove’ (like its True they do wanna take down the prince but like yknow). and its like a whole thing. during this all they all fall in love and form a sapphic polycule and its complicated and nasty and oof.

Captain Gill

With how much OG Chip’s design changes over the course of Riptide I thought it would be cool to do a more mid-campaign design of Gill. The scribbles on his arm are supposed to be lightning tattoos that would parallel chips water ones, they seem like a cool way that gill could show his oath to the open sea, inspired by Finn. Unsure if he would have a prosthetic pinkie but i added it for now until the details of what happens at each island is figured out. I hc that the ship they were on before the albatross would go from the Big Chipper to like Destiny’s Tide or smth like that.

Caspian aka Captain Trench

I’m not the best at designing but wanted to have fun drawing a sinister little Caspian. Notable things are the feathers that Price had in his design is flowing water, which is actually also his water whip that he can magically summon the handle for. Also had him and Gill have matching scars across the nose because its fun 💥

Captain Ruben of the Navy

Kept his missing eye and thought the backstory behind it could change so that he lost it in some sort of fight, so the navy replaced it with a magical one and now he uses it as the main weapon in combat (it shoots beams n shit). Initially just drew him in a looser brain but maybe a bun would be more fitting since its more practical. (Far left image is him as a kid)

Origins headcanons

So obviously, in this swapped au Gill and Chip/Bellamy would meet first. Here, Bellamy works as a bartender and is curious about this trion that claims to have been on the same crew as Arlin, but not enough to answer honestly to any of Gill’s questions. So Gill tries to prove his worth by making Bellamy a drink that he hasn’t had before: a squirty! Thats what I thought of last night at least there could def be a cooler things for them to do,,

Jay having been brought up very isolated on Fetherbrook, she is not used to seeing people like Gill, so upon her first instinct she assumes he’s some sort of monster and shoots at him (to Chip’s amusement.)

I will surely draw more of this AU as it gets fleshed out but these are all my insane ramblings as of right now

Listen, I dunno if I've sent you one of these before, but I really love your PJO posts. I was wondering if you could make a detailed post saying exactly why you don't like Percy? No hate actually-I also don't like Percy's OPness at times. Jason should be able to wipe the floor with him, as well as Thalia.

And Luke? Well, Percy is NOT the best swordsman in 300 years after Luke. I'm pretty sure that Thalia would take that title. And Percy and Thalia definitely beat Luke because of their godly heritage.

Well it's less that I dislike Percy, I'm more disappointed with what he is and despise what the fandom makes him out to be. And as to Percy beating Luke simply due to his godly heritage- I'm just gonna mention here for a second that whenever we saw those two fight Percy either lost or it was a draw. He never outright won against Luke, and even when it was a draw Percy consistently either got sudden help from someone else and was fighting in conditions that favoured him a LOT. As for Thalia...eh, willing to give that one since we did see her win against Luke. Though it's still worth to mention that not only was Luke in a horrible and far worse mental and physical state than Thalia, but he also was most certainly not fighting with the same degree of killing intent as her. Either way, onto your ask now! To be quite honest I'm not too sure what you mean with "detailed", so imma just list off some of my reasons for not being Percy's biggest fan. 1. He's just a bland character. Genuinly compared to everyone else, Percy does not really have that much going on. His romance with Annabeth is, frankly said, cliche. They are the main boy and the main girl in a book series who end up falling in love with no major issues or drama along the way. Anytime some drama or threat for this relationship could come in (like Calypso for Percy) it gets written off almost immediately. We don't really get any deeper exploration of Percy's personality or struggles. PTSD, disorders or even conflicting feelings about the goods are barely (if ever) scratched. It is constantly said he dislikes the gods, yet he still does everything they want him to? Never truly questions their quests or anything? That just seems weird to me. 2. He pretends to have this super hard life when compared to everyone else, he's on game mode easy. The whole book (and fandom) constantly want to pretend like Percy is this super poor kid who had it super hard, yet when you look at his situation compared to everyone else it really wasn't???? Like don't get me wrong, this is not to say that Percy does not have a hard life. But I am going to say that for demigod standards Percy probably has some of the best lives people like him could get. Like what issues does Percy truly have? He was raised by a single Mom with a missing Dad- that's like a staple for demigods if we are all honest. Then he had to deal with an abusive prick for years, that's really bad ngl. But also it was solved the same book we even got to know him and Percy never seemed to have any issues after. He's forced to go on dangerous quest and be used as canon fodder by the gods- again, just another demigod staple. He even gets regular help from other gods and Chiron. And now compare that to everyone else? We've got people like Luke who had an insane Mom which basically saw him having to take care of himself for all his life even before he ended up living on the streets. Annabeth's Dad is neglectful and her stepmom emotionally abusive to some degree at least. Clarisse's GODLY parent is abusive! And she can't get rid of him! Meanwhile Percy has got a loving home he can always return to with a family that genuinely loves him. Especially after his Mom remarries and has his sister. So seeing him and everyone else constantly whine about how bad he has it just seems spoiled to me. 3. Percy is balls deep in plot armour aswell as not that impressive and no one wants to accept it. Here, I said it. Percy Jackson is not as strong as you all want to make him out to be and most of his "wins" were either just plot armour or the fans overhyping him.

Percy did not "defeat" Kronos. The entier "Defence" of Manhatten was a huge failure- remember how Kronos got up onto Olympus and destroyed it so much it needed Annabeth to rebuild it? That sure doesn't seem like CHB's goal of defending Olympus against the TA worked. Luke ended up offing himself and Kronos with him, not Percy. Percy would have been six feet under if Luke hadn't bricked himself and done the job for him. There's not a single book in the OG series that would have gone as it did if Percy hadn't gotten help from the gods. The only reason he managed to get out of the Underworld in TLT is 'cause Poseidon gave him those pearls. In SOM he needed Hermes giving him those gummies and the wind thermos. In TTC he had to let Artemis go fight Atlas for them. BotL literally had Hera guide his arrow to win the fight against Geyron. TLO didn't have a god help Percy but instead literally Luke killing the big bad for him. Also to return to TTC, and this is more a gripe with the fandom than anything, Percy didn't even hold the sky for that long as ppl want to make it out to be. He held it for what? Five minutes? Meanwhile we have Annabeth holding it for a day and Luke for even longer than that. Stop pretending Percy is somehow special or cool for something other people did much longer. Honestly I think those three points sum up why I generally am not a fan of Percy, that and ofc the fact that he openly supports the god which give me severe "Authoritarian Goverment who don't give two shits abt anyone but themselves with a huge propaganda mill to back them" vibes. Yikes.

After finishing the Iliad I have some THOUGHTS about Achilles

What drives it at its heart is Briseis, a woman from Lyrnessus, described as being a golden Aphrodite among women, and outstandingly beautiful. Agamemnon is discussing prizes and how he had to give up his and in exchange, as leader of the men, would be taking Achilles’ prize. And surprise, the prizes are women, this one being Briseis. Achilles’ is so deeply offended by this that he outright refuses to fight. The war between the Trojans and Greeks draws out, and he refuses to listen to Odysseus and the others, as he was offended by Agamemnon’s actions. Eventually Pátroklos bears witness to the injured which have managed to return to camp (among hundreds of dead), and begs Achilles to take up arms and go to war. He refuses, but permits Pátroklos to wear his armour and fight (which leads to Pátroklos dying at the hands of Apollo, Euphorbos, and Hector) .

The death of Pátroklos is what finally encourages him to give up on his anger with Agamemnon and agree to fight. Briseis is returned to him, Agamemnon swears to the gods he did not lay a hand on her, and Achilles, who has sat by watching hundreds die, says he wishes that Artemis had killed Briseis when they had abducted her so she would have never come between the two. Nevertheless, he still takes her on, and she openly laments over Pátroklos’ body as he had always been kind to her (especially considering that Achilles was the one to kill her three brothers and her husband, meaning there was no one to try to save her like the Greek’s mission to get Helen home). Agamemnon then gives him consolation with tripods, gold, and surprise, more women.

Achilles is incredibly stubborn and selfish, he was hard to like and very easy to hate, particularly with how he chose to treat Hector’s body following his death (where Priam had to offer ransom to have it returned). Without Pátroklos’ insistence to fight on his behalf, the Greeks would have been overwhelmed and lost the war, and it was just insane to me that when the woman he was so bitter and angry that he lost is returned to him, he openly proclaims he wishes she had died (despite this, though she would have had no choice as she was his slave, Briseis remains with him until his death before she is given to one of his other men)

EDIT: what I forgot was that Briseis says Patroklos NEVER allowed her to mourn for her lost family which is really well highlighted here, likely her wailing is not over him, but her finally getting to also mourn her husband and brothers

Since you very deep in the early imperial lore. You have any information on what thunder warrior armour looked like? I remember when I draw it it was very hard to find sources. I did a super scaled back guesstimation based on what I did find. But not easy. I saw you mention at one point their armour in a joke. Do you know what it looked like? How it was worked?

How it worked was basically power armor.

They had lasrifles and were basically glorified Imperial guard(from Birth of the Imperium). They also had pretty good strength(the Outcast Dead).

From what we can tell of Ushotan, he's a pretty good example of how their armor looked like:

And rebreathers.

I swear, Ushotan is singlehandely carrying Thunder Warrior fashion ON HIS BACK.... like so much of Thunder Warrior armor lore comes from Ushotan's drip.

And a very cool detail I just noticed is that Ushotan might've had augments, although if this is mechanical(which they had at the time, ex the soldier in BoTI) or genecraft is debatable

And lastly, the armor's durability: never really listed, but we do know Valdor pierces it with ease.

Call me delusional but lusan is canon, because what do you mean the whole plot of a pirate stealing his prince from the wedding, the opening song of wci, Hope, is basically a love letter from Luffy to Sanji, and oda was listening to Are You Gonna Be My Girl while drawing Luffy vs Sanji in wci? And there are other things I could write thousands of words on but I'm too lazy.

I'm on the delusional train with you brother why the hell did Luffy and Sanji get a whole arc together where Luffy was honest to god Sanji's sole saviour and knight in shining armour that was insane????
