Thought I could wrap this silly AU up in two parts, but instead ended up with so many ideas, I could make a multi volume doujin out of it in tears this was supposed to be a fun detour.

Anyway more notes I came up with while drawing:

As YJH alldued to, the demons are basically reborn humans, who have been wronged in some form or another. So, the demons are basically a man made evil of sorts. Their resentment turns into energy which then give their bodies new life.

Demon also all have pointed ears, except KDJ. Whether that's because he's their king or some other reason, is not known. (but to me mwahaha)

Anyways thinking about all the times Rayla has been literally buried alive, but also how Callum did so metaphorically during her two years absence and after she returned.

He buried her memory, refusing to say her name out loud or think of her:

It was impossible to say her name out loud. Rayla. It still hurt. She was still gone, and Callum had no idea if she'd ever come back. Callum shook his head. He couldn't think about her. Not now.

And how after her return, he let his anger and confusion suppress his feelings of joy and relief that she was home and safe:

But avoiding his feelings didn't make the pain go away. The wound was still there, and now it was compounded with regret.

i'm getting towards the end of the skypeia arc, & i'd like to say just how much i adore the way the female strawhats have been treated.

just... every aspect of how the way their characters have been previously contextualized influences the story-line is treated with a masterful amount of consideration. we're given so many layers to both of them that enrich not only their characters specifically, but the arc, and the one piece world as a whole. without nami & robin having their specific skills, and their specific values, without those being built upon, the story would have come to a halt.

you could not have skypeia without nami & robin being who they are as individuals. not just because they never would've gotten there without nami, but also because the way these women think is itself foundational to the machinations of the arc as a whole.

to be totally upfront, if you think any other strawhats were more central to the skypeia arc than nami & robin were you are full-on fucking lying to yourself.

okay this is so small but makes me really happy. taketora just got done talking about how much he admires tanaka and how cool and "manly" he is, which like makes sense right, both tanaka and taketora are always being shown as these like loud "boy's boys" archetypes who do everything with power, talk about girls, and emphasize "guts" and "manliness," so obviously taketora would respect tanaka

but then he immediately turns to also think about how much he admires fukunaga in the same way—fukunaga who doesn't display any of those same qualities that taketora was just admiring about tanaka. fukunaga is quiet, fairly low-key and doesn't flaunt anything ever. dude just goes around making weird puns that 1 people often barely even hear and 2 apparently seem to baffle everyone. but taketora sees all of that and sees how fukunaga still shows up and gets the job done more than successfully—he's one of the top point getters on the team—and taketora respects him for all of that, still calls him a "man's man" and tbh more than respects him, he admires him and sees him as a rival

and idk that just makes me happy, like 1 it's a nice small way of furudate saying that yeah "manly" is a thing that's important to taketora but it doesn't just mean one stereotypical thing—like it's showing that taketora isn't as one dimensional as we would have thought and that he sees things from multiple perspectives (we also saw this from him back during the whole "guts" thing with kenma and how he respects him too)—and it's also an example of seeing fukunaga from another perspective too. it's because he's so low-key that even we as readers have probably barely noticed how much of a rock he is for the team, but if you got back through their matches you can see how often he does score—he's quiet but he's always there. and i just like that furudate takes a moment to not only acknowledge fukunaga but to do it from taketora's pov in order to really hit it home to us how true it must be

I think a part of why I find Hub so cool is how he seems to be one that won't hold back in a fight. These sketches don't even scratch the surface on what I mean, but he has this certain feel on the battlefield.

Announcing which clone kit I'm building:

CODY!

Cody has a lot of armor pieces that are unique to him (and other clones based off of his model), so in addition to the base clone body armor, I ordered specific parts. And they just came in!! I got in my second Big Brown Box containing all of my Cody-specific armor parts from Sanotized Creations, who does absolutely phenomenal work✨

The largest and most obvious piece in the box was Cody's bucket, but there are so many other parts too, including his shoulder pauldrons, jetpack, and many other pieces that couldn't fit in these particular photos. I'll be sharing closeups of them all in the upcoming days!

I debated a LOT on which clone to make, and tbh at first I was leaning more towards a grunt 212th boy (and calling him Wooley, probably lol). But then it was announced that the 2025 Star Wars Celebration's going to be held in Japan, and it's coincidentally the ROTS 20th Anniversary...so I was like fuck it, let's go straight for the Gold! Live action Cody it is!

(...and then I managed to get photo sessions with Ewan and DBB at NYCC this year, and ngl idk if I'll be able to finish him that fast but, wouldn't it be cool if...?)

This is a huge and daunting project, but I'm so excited to really get to work on my best boy. I will be slow, but I hope you'll enjoy my updates🧡
