I was wondering if you had any Violet and Zack wedding headcanons? :) for⊠(*hides drawing tablet and suspiciously looks around*) no reason whatsoever :D
Awwww, you are so sweet! This ask made me so happy, and Iâve been working hard on it!
Yes, I do have a lot of wedding headcanons! And, I actually wrote a scene from the wedding in the prologue to Wild Violets! I think Iâm going to tweak it a bit when I post chapter 1, but Iâll link it here! A03 Wattpad FF.net
But there is more to, it obviouslyâŠlol! For startersâŠthey have 2 weddings! Iâll link everything below the cut because it is a lot! And to keep thing more neat and tidy for myself (my ocdâs been bad lately, lol) Iâll answer for the first wedding in this post and second wedding in another post I will tag you in!
Wedding #1
The first wedding is a simple courthouse wedding that occurs shortly Violetâs 23rd birthday in April.
Zach, Violet, his mother Valerie, and Violetâs Aunt Amy, and cousin Paige, Paigeâs husband Todd, Paige and Toddâs son Nathaniel, and a few of the Zachbots are in attendance (if you/anyone wants references for them, let me know).
Outfits
Violet does not wear an actual wedding dress, she instead wears a short white party dress that has blue flora appliquĂ©s to have her âsomething blue.âÂ
Violetâs âsomething oldâ is her V butterfly necklace from Zach.Â
Her âsomething newâ is her custom made engagement ring from Zach that is gold with rubies and diamonds in the shape of a V were a typical diamond would be (enjoy my lovely rendition of it below, sorry the gold looks awful, lol).
Zachâs mother surprises Violet by loaning her the wedding veil she wore when she married Zachâs father to Violet, giving her âsomething borrowed.â
Violet wears her hair down in a half up, half down style, similar to the one below, but when they leave the courthouse, Violet trades the veil for some butterfly themed hair jewelry!
Zach wears the same black and gray suit he wore when he and Violet shared their first kiss (looks like below).
Zach and Violet, alone in his headquarters before they go to the courthouse, his hand cupped under her chin: Zach: âThis suit brought me good luck the last time I wore it, it changed my life because it made me realize that I loved you. That you were my life.â
Even though itâs a courthouse wedding, Zachâs mom pulls Violet to the side and puts the veil on her, pulling it over her face and walking her to Zach.Â
Zach is stunned when he sees Violet, not expecting the veil with the dress, he pulls the veilâs blusher back and holds her face in his hands, Zach: âyou are beautiful.â
Violet: âEven given theâŠcircumstances?â
Zach: âYou could wear a trash bag and be beautiful.â
Zachâs mom is a florist, so she also surprises Zach and Violet with flowers for the wedding, she brings a small bouquet of flowers for Violet and boutonniĂšres for everyone else.
The flowers are white and royal blue to match Violetâs dress (something like below, but with real flowers).
Ceremony/Reception
At the courthouse, the quick ceremony is performed by a justice of the peace, they kiss, sign the marriage license, and are on their way!
After the wedding they have a small reception on the balcony at Zachâs headquarters with Gourmand catering (vegetarian foods and no alcohol per Violetâs instructions, lol) and all the villains come to celebrate with them at the reception.Â
Donita, Valarie, Amy, and Paige decorated the balcony with fairy lights, lanterns, and white, blue, and lilac flowers in various arrangements, and a triangle shaped arch covered with the flowers too!
Zach and Violet share a first dance at the reception to the song Technicolour Beat. Itâs a very intense and intimate moment for them, and I imagine Violetâs quietly singing it to him đ„°!
They end the reception with more dancing, photos (they get some sweet hugging and kissing pics, and get some with sparklers for sure!), and they give their guests a special surprise! Any guesses?
Well those are Wedding #1 headcanons! Thank you so much for this ask, Iâve enjoyed working on it! If you have any more questions, please let me know. And if anyone has a questions you can reach out too!

Notes on SU Commentary Tracks
I watched the commentary tracks on the Complete Steven Universe DVD Set and I took some nerd notes.
The episodes with commentary tracks are âReunited,â âChange Your Mind,â and âThe Future.â
Iâll bold stuff that was maybe bigger news or more surprising for easier reading. And yes, some of this was already known from podcasts, other Q&As, or interviews, but I listed it if they said it again here.
Read on after the jump to read these and other highlights:
Stevenâs original wedding speech
Older ideas on dialogue for Lapis when she came back to the beach
Scrapped concepts for the scene that ultimately included Steven communicating with the others in a mindscape
Discussions of earlier concepts for White Diamond having a power to âfreezeâ Gems into statues to make them perfect and having a gallery of them on Homeworld
Pink Pearlâs original fate
The translation of the writing on Obsidianâs sword
The origin of Pink Stevenâs design
What Rebecca did to pitch the âSHEâS GONEâ scene
Earlier plans to include Shep in âChange Your Mindâ
An unused concept of how Steven feels about Biggs
The inspiration for the Heaven and Earth Beetlesâ healed design
How Volleyball/Pink Pearl was almost a mini-villain
Discussion of how they did not get to share the origin of the Diamonds
Jasperâs scrapped participation in the movie
âReunitedâ -Â
Commentary with Rebecca Sugar, Ben Levin, Matt Burnett, Hilary Florido, Joe Johnston, Ian Jones-Quartey, and Kat Morris.
In 2015, an episode idea called âIf You Love Yourself So Muchâ was discussed but rejected. It included some early ideas that ended up getting incorporated into âReunited,â most notably Garnet marrying herself and putting rings on both hands.
The idea of the Cluster arm wrestling was planned for a long time. A scrapped idea of Steven banging his fist on a vending machine to get some Chaaaaps was supposed to visually parallel some of that scene, but it was axed.
When they got pushback on the wedding idea, they kept adding more and more âhigh entertainment valueâ items like a big musical number so the episode would be absolutely unmissable and appealing to everyone.
The song at the beginning of the episode was meant to check in with the entire cast and sort of remind you they exist and what their state of mind is going into the wedding.
Ian made a comment joking about âAll 15 people in Beach Cityâ being in the audience.
Just about everyone on the Crew touched this episode, despite that there are four main storyboarders credited for âReunited.â
In 2016 Ian Jones-Quartey proposed marriage to Rebecca Sugar. They felt like the characters based on them (Sapphire and Ruby) HAD to get married in the show now because otherwise it wouldnât be honest. But then their characters got married before they did.
They really love the idea of having characters get married who have known each other for a really long time, versus the fairy tale trope of movies ending with weddings between people who have met very recently.
Stevenâs speech as officiator at the wedding used to be longer in its first draft--it was described as being weird and full of jokes, and there would have been a scene with Pearl getting weepy and pulling tissues out of her pearl.
Ian mentions loving a joke Jeff came up with having Greg play one chord to make Steven fall asleep--itâs sort of a âdreamâ chord you hear in cartoons a lot before a dream sequence.
The Crew discussed what it might be like if someone had never seen the show before and started with this episode.
Ian really wanted Stevenâs psychic powers to figure into the episode.
Blue using a sadness wave to attack the Gems was a very old idea theyâd planned for a long time. So was Lapisâs arrival.
There was a discussion of having Lisa Hannigan performing her lines as Blue VERY early in the morning.
Ian was happy the sword got broken because it was so momentous but it was just a sword. And later appeared on a shelf in the house as an artifact.
Miki had drawn a torn dress for Garnet at one point so she could be shown fighting and moving around more accurately, and this led to a long discussion of whether Gem clothing can even actually get torn the way human clothes can. They concluded that no, it shouldnât be torn, so they backed up and gave Garnet an open-front dress from the beginning so the fighting version would make more sense.
Lapis originally might have had a longer speech upon arriving back on the beach. They eventually decided to just have her say âHey.â
The barn falling on Blue Diamond was an intentional Wizard of Oz reference.
They point out that Steven even once said âdrop the barn on the beachâ (in a previous episode, âCanât Go Back,â which was also a Miki episode).
Destroying the house was a big deal, and they always thought theyâd end up doing it but backed away from it until âReunited.â They almost even did it back in âCoach Stevenâ! But it just ended up with a little damage to the porch.
The Crew thinks Miki is really good at drawing ensemble shots.
Rebecca was always overwhelmed whenever she got to have Patti LuPone record for Yellow.
Originally the giant figures of everyoneâs statue bodies in the mindscape were too dark and had to be revamped so they could be seen.
An earlier idea of Stevenâs âpsychic-ghost-situationâ had him as a ghost actually trying to interact with the other characters during fighting action, but it was pulled back to this mindscape so there wouldnât be as much confusing action to keep track of and more focus on what Steven was doing to encourage his teammates and contact the Diamonds.
Hilary was glad not to have to block out a fight.
Ian mentions loving having Bismuth back in the group.
They originally wanted the âDiamonds sensing Pinkâs energyâ plot to happen when Steven was in the palace somehow, but everything got moved to this scene--which the Crew all agrees turned out incredible, like how cool it was to have Steven essentially reminding each character why they fight and summing up their whole arc in a sentence.
âChange Your Mindâ
Commentary with Rebecca Sugar, Ben Levin, Matt Burnett, Hilary Florido, Joe Johnston, Ian Jones-Quartey, and Kat Morris.
They like to refer to this episode as âThe movie before the movie.â
They loved incorporating âprincess tropesâ into Stevenâs time on Homeworld, which is why there were so many references to âmiceâ (well, Pebbles) making clothes, being locked in a tower, being reminded of his manners, loving animals and freeing imprisoned pets, etc.Â
Deedee did the voice of the rainbow worm pet. She apparently didnât find it memorable and was surprised when she was reminded she did the voice.
Rebecca was super excited for the confrontation with Blue.
There was some discussion of how Steven would have died of starvation if he didnât have someone practical like Connie to remember to bring food.
They love working with the huge scale the Diamonds present.
The Crew always wanted to put someone in Blueâs hair loop. Originally they wanted Blue to tuck Greg in there when she kidnapped him, but they didnât end up being able to do any hair-loop-carrying until this episode.
The Crew bantered back and forth about what the heck those Pebblesâ names were and how hard it was to track them.
They agreed that Paul draws the best Yellow Diamond, which makes sense since he also drew the first episode with Yellow (and her stink face).Â
The scene where Yellow asks Blue to stop using her powers on her and then realizing sheâs crying on her own was one of Rebeccaâs favorite scenes to get to finally.
Steven Sugar thought Gems would spend a lot of time in their own chambers/rooms just not really doing much of anything unless they had to fulfill their purpose.
Some of the Homeworld ideas were based on a Soviet artistâs concepts, Boris Artzybasheff, and also many ideas were inspired by Busby Berkeley regarding how people were objects and furniture.
The mech was an old idea. Once they had the hand ship from âJailbreak,â they knew there had to be bodies somewhere.
They focused a lot about what could be the coolest and funniest way for something to happen. The concept of the yellow and blue spaceship arms appearing out of the sky to smack the White Diamond mech around was one of those.
Rebecca really wanted things to look more and more cartoony and bizarre as you get deeper into Homeworld.
They spent a very long time trying to decide on charactersâ new outfits.
The trash can lid is said to be a reference to âa flying bear cartoonâ and they dance around speaking a direct reference because theyâre not sure theyâre allowed to say its name.
In discussing the powers of the Diamonds, there were debates on what Whiteâs power would be; with Yellow being physicality-based and Blue being emotion-based, they thought White as identity-based made the most sense.
Different ways to express this were played with before settling on the idea that she thinks sheâs perfect and othersâ colors make them less like her and less perfect. But then she becomes a hostage to her own beliefs about herself because if she does anything that reflects on everyone else, so itâs best to do nothing.
They had some cool earlier ideas of Whiteâs powers making statues out of other Gems and having a gallery full of frozen Gems, frozen by White to make them perfect.
They also werenât sure what fate befell the original Pink Pearl and discussed whether she might have been destroyed.Â
Rebecca discussed how creepy it was to have White Pearl speaking in Christineâs voice and not Deedeeâs--that we should find it fundamentally disturbing at this point.
Tom Herpich came up with the crack on White Pearlâs face.
In real life, pink diamonds arenât understood as well as yellows and blues. Itâs more known what makes a diamond yellow or blue, and some of those facts Rebecca researched were originally woven into the speech White gave about their âimpurities.â But it turned out to be too dry and most of it got cut.
Rebecca loves having Lapis with pants and sandals for easier cosplay.
Ian had to draw the scene where Steven is falling and fusing with inert characters--he wasnât able to properly explain it to Rebecca so she had him draw it.
They really wanted Rainbow Quartz 2.0 to have a scarf, but they couldnât figure out how to get that into Pearlâs design. They miss the scarf.
It was really important to have these Fusions display call-forwards of the Gemsâ new outfits which we hadnât yet seen.
Rebecca points out that Sunstoneâs design breaks a design rule and she feels like Sunstone should have Garnetâs pant leg colors on their legs, but at the same time she understands the rule of cool and likes it like this.
Itâs discussed how none of Stevenâs fusion weapons are exclusively offensive weapons either.
Rebecca still really wants a suction cup Sunstone toy.
Sunstoneâs ability to transcend reality and break the fourth wall was a joke that exploded in the discussion room among the Crew. As soon as the idea was pitched everyone kept coming up with ideas. Sardonyxâs fourth-wall-breaking is more snarky, but Sunstoneâs is helpful.
Rebecca was disappointed that the rule about Stevenâs clothes wasnât always followed with having his clothes appear on Obsidianâs hand, but she was delighted that you could see them in one scene.
They spent a lot of discussion time on making sure Steven-Obsidian was different somehow from Rose-Obsidian. The hair is different.
Old versions of Obsidian were drawn with wrapped-together Twizzlers legs, which sort of is reflected in the present design.
The sword had been planned forever--and it first appeared in âBubble Buddies.â
Miki worked on the Ninja Turtles show so Rebecca was really excited to see her depictions of Bismuth and Sunstone.
An early plan to have Obsidian draw the sword from their mouth was complicated because fusion weapons should be combinations, so they finally reached the solution of having them combine to make the hilt, then get the blade out of Obsidianâs mouth.
The blade of the sword is thought to say âWeâll always save the day,â but youâd have to ask Steven Sugar.
Another really old idea was climbing into the White Diamond mech eye.
Rebecca was disappointed that some of the merch made of White Diamond did not feature her cape sparkles.
There were many debates early on about where Rose might âactuallyâ be. There were tons of references to this fundamental question throughout the show--introducing Lapis as a Gem trapped in an object, having Pearl ponder pulling Stevenâs Gem out as a baby, straight-up wondering what would happen to him in âBubbledâ when Eyeball was trying to take his Gem, etc. They all decided Rose was definitely gone but that the idea of her possibly being inside him should be on his mind a lot, leading to disturbing images like dreaming about coughing up her hair.
Yellow Diamond and Blue Diamond both challenged Steven about things he was very confident about, but Whiteâs question of his identity got to him because he in fact is not confident about that.
The black and white eeriness of the fuzzy background and the other characters having their colors washed out helped make the scene in White Diamondâs head so disturbing and creepy.
The split screen showing Stevenâs two perspectives was exciting to Rebecca, and was a pretty old idea. And she points out it sort of âbreaks the show.â
The Gem Steven, Pink Steven, was represented by a slightly modified version of his model sheet. Everyone laughed when they saw what was getting used.
They decided that an earlier idea of Pink Steven looking angry should be replaced by an emotionless version of him. All the emotion should be with Organic Steven.
In the pitch meeting for this episode, Rebecca herself screamed âSHEâS GONE!!â and shocked the hell out of everyone. She pointed out how no one expected this of her because sheâs pretty quiet, but she just wanted to shock everyone the way Steven would in the show.
They point out this is the first appearance of the geometric shield that got so much use in Future.
The fact that Steven is Steven is the ultimate reveal of the show. Usually in fantasy shows thereâs some other kind of revelation, but Steven just being amazingly human and amazingly Gem and amazingly himself is wonderful here.
They like having the pilot reference with âWhatâs your excuse?â
If Rose had somehow still been alive in him, all of this would have been cheapened.
Ian loves that you can faintly hear Sadieâs concert from way out in space as the camera approaches Earth.
They got a lot more use out of the Beach-A-Palooza stage than they thought they would when it had to be designed for âSteven and the Stevens.â There was a joke about how at one of the conventions a real Beach-A-Palooza stage was constructed and they had a thought about how oh good, itâs getting reused.
Sadie having green hair in the finale was a late change but they liked showing her progression.Â
They had originally kicked around the idea of Sadie already having her new partner Shep at this point, but decided to develop that in Future instead.
They compare White Diamondâs stepping gingerly into the fountain to skeptically getting into a public pool.
Some silliness they didnât get to use was that Biggs would be âbeloved by everyoneâ except Steven. They never got to cover it, but originally Steven was just going to not really understand why everyone loves her so much and doesnât personally much care for her.
The Heaven and Earth Beetles are based on the Mothra Ladies.
The healed Gemsâ horns are supposed to be side effects of the corruption that they continue to bear in the present.
Larimar and Orange Spodumene ended up different in the ending scene than they became in Future. Many of the designs were retroactively pulled into this scene after being designed for the movie.
Rebecca wrote âChange Your Mindâ as a personal song to express her feelings surrounding her fight for the wedding.
âThe Futureâ
Commentary with Rebecca Sugar, Kat Morris, Alonso Ramirez Ramos, Hilary Florido, Joe Johnston, and Ian Jones-Quartey.
The animatic for this episode ran SO long--theyâre supposed to be just over 11 minutes but this one was 17 minutes.
Stevenâs calisthenics routine, a callback to âFuture Vision,â was on the chopping block to make the episode shorter but Rebecca wouldnât allow it to be cut because she wanted to show that Stevenâs been taking care of himself.
They were very excited to get a chance to cover some of the things in Future that they couldnât squeeze into the original show, like the unbubbled Rose Quartzes, Volleyball, etc.
The new writers on the show also helped bring forward the idea of Steven finally making some of his OWN mistakes to fix.
This also helped construct the idea of Steven essentially being the âfinal bossâ of his own battle.
Usually stories that involve someone being in a fight and winning donât explore the effect just being in a fight has on a person, regardless of whether you won.Â
Rebecca really wanted to play Ocarina of Time after beating it so she could go back to all the places and see how people were doing. She wanted this epilogue series to explore that a little too.
Little Homeschool is sort of a Tiny Toons reference--older cartoons teach younger cartoons how to be cartoons, and this is Gems teaching other Gems how to be Gems on Earth.Â
Lamar came up with the silly joke about receiving that art set with all the different media types in it--the one artists are always getting from a well-meaning relative at holiday time.
A scrapped plot idea involved Volleyball/Pink Pearl as a sort of âmini-villain,â with a focus on her activating the un-activated Pearls.
Thereâs discussion of how victimization turns people into villains sometimes. But since showing that happening with Volleyball wouldnât have served the interests of Stevenâs arc, they couldnât fit it in.
There was also a âvery specificâ Gem origin and Diamond origin story thatâs quasi-religious in nature--itâs very cool and complicated. But they do not tell us what it is.
Ian and Joe both really wanted to have Jasper living alone in the woods and stacking rocks. Theyâre glad they got this series to do that with her.
There was originally an idea for a B-plot involving Jasper in the movie. They donât discuss the specifics.
There were many ideas they didnât get to work on because they would have started new arcs and Future was not about kicking new plots into gear.
âMr. Universeâ was the last episode they wrote/finished.
Miki really wanted to include a kiss between Connie and Steven to show their relationship was okay. Among the Crew everyone knew their relationship was basically eternal but Miki wanted to make sure WE knew that.
Steven driving conveyed momentum for Future; in the original show, we always came back to the laundry hand, back to home, but in Future thatâs changed and home isnât what it was.Â
They were really excited that a gourd family made it to the crowd scene in Future.
Thanks for reading!
Note: The movie had some commentary tracks too, but the one on this DVD set is the same as the one released on the original standalone movie DVD, so I did not outline it here. Here is my post about the DVD commentary from the movie.

And so, we hit 20 followers early, lol. Woo! If you have any critiques on my headcanons or want to add more, let me know!
Also, some of these probably don't make sense, so allow me to put in some context. I see Red as a secret hopeless romantic and that even when she's older, she enjoys reading about fairy tales and all that. And secretly loves watching Disney films. This is due to me loving Disney too much and getting ideas from them, lol.
But yeah, that's about it for some context that I can think I can explain right now. If you wanna ask anything about my headcanons, that's allowed too.
---
(These are headcanons for aged up Revin, just a warning/ saying. Just to be sure you guys know that. And also, these are subject to change at any point in time because I just love making hcs/ changing up my hcs for fun)
-Before they got together, they were always sad and watching from afar whenever the other was with someone. Now that they are together, they get jealous every now and again instead.
-But Kevin is the one who gets jealous more due to Red being one of the popular girls and is generally seen as a really pretty girl by most guys at their school.
-They both really frickin' love each other. Like if they had to give up their favorite thing just to be with the other, they would not hesitate to do so.
-Both of them are also huge dorky geeks and you can't tell me otherwise. Though Kevin is clearly more of a geek than Red.
-They have specific nicknames for each other. Kevin's nickname for Red is "My Goddess" or "My Alien Queen" and Red's nickname for him is "My Sweet Prince".
- But also, Red rarely calls him by his full name. Always calling him "Kev" unless she's mad at him.
- In the genderbent world/ universe, only Robbie has a nickname for Kassie so far. He calls her "My Sweet Star".
- They have specific ringtones for each other. Kevin has "Just The Way You Are" by Bruno Mars for Red. And Red has "Love On Top" by Beyoncé for Kevin.
- Kevin got her a black rose necklace for one of her birthdays. The same black rose necklace she would constantly stare at whenever they had dates at the mall. She would tell him that he didn't need to buy it for her and yet he did, anyway. Meanwhile in a genderbent world, Robbie would have gotten Kassie a Star Trek necklace.
- Then what Red got Kevin that he treasures so much is a custom Stormtrooper motorcycle helmet that he wears whenever they go on rides on Red's motorcycle.
- Kevin always gets her a bouquet of red roses whenever he can afford it and Red does her best to lengthen the lives of the roses. While Robbie gives Kassie a bouquet of forget me nots.
-Their first kiss wasn't as romantic as Kevin hoped it would be, he ended up headbutting her out of pure nervousness. And despite getting better at kissing, Red regularly brings up the incident to him and her friends.
-Most of their dates consists of just watching Sci-Fi movies at Red's place with some snuggling in between.
-But their favorite kind of date is strolling around with ice cream in their hands. Well, it's mostly Kevin's favorite as he enjoys watching Red messily eat ice cream and happily cleaning her face.
-Though if their date is to somewhere outside and it gets cancelled because of rain, they will simply slow dance to old music with the rain softly being heard in the background.
-They always celebrate Chinese New Year together and even wear the traditional clothes for it. And once they get married and have a family of their own, they get their kids to wear traditional clothing too.
- And speaking of getting married... When they do get married, their first dance will be based on the first dance from the live-action Cinderella movie. (The only good live action adaptation, imo-)
- Because they loved practicing and performing that dance, they can't help but recreate it whenever they have nothing to do at home.
-They rarely go to Kevin's house to hang out because Kevin's mom will literally not leave the two alone despite Kevin's countless protests.
-Kevin's mom absolutely adores the red head Kevin is dating. Which Kevin appreciates but sometimes, she can be a bit too much.
- Red's parents, on the other hand, while they tease Red on how overwhelming sweet she is to Kevin, they respect them enough to leave them alone together. (That or they are too busy with each other, lol-)
-They love wearing matching outfits/ shirts whenever they go out for dates. (Yo, I don't know about you guys but this shit is legit the most cutest thing a couple can do) (Also, lowkey want to see them with like Mickey and Minnie Mouse ears but I can't draw, so yeah. :/)
-Because he's an adorable little gentleman, he always waits on Red after his basketball practice to take her home. Whether it be a long cheerleading or volleyball practice, he will always wait for her. Granted, because of how long they take, he ends up falling asleep each time but Red always appreciates the gesture and/or thought.
-Part of the headcanon above is Kevin learning first aid just to tend for Red whenever she gets injured during these practices.
- And then when it's Kevin who's busy with his practice for basketball, Red returns the favor by waiting for him and then taking him home on her motorcycle.
- During their respective events, the other will do their absolute best to cheer for the other.
-Kevin always takes stolen pictures of Red and posts them on Instagram with the caption "Just my red head goddess looking beautiful as always" or anything cheesy and sweet like that.
- Red does the same, sometimes. She captions them with the sweetest thing she could ever type or pretty much just describes what's happening in the picture.
-Kevin tries his best to be more suave and less dorky around Red by like trying to flirt and using tips from Kenny and Clyde but whenever he uses them on Red, he quickly becomes a blushing mess which Red always finds to be hella cute.
-Red just absolutely loves grabbing Kevin's face and giving him Eskimo kisses. To which, no one's surprise, Kevin absolutely loves, too.
-As much as other people dislike it, Red loves (or maybe gets even turned on, heh) whenever Kevin speaks all geeky and stuff like that. Meanwhile, Kevin really loves it whenever the girl speaks Klingon.
-No matter what Red does, Kevin will always find what she does to be the absolute most coolest shit he's ever seen. He always loves to gush about how cool his red head goddess is.
-Even though it's a struggle for her, Red's doing her best to give up her smoking addiction just for Kevin to stop worrying about her health.
-When they start living together, Kevin adopts an adorable Siberian Husky puppy for her to keep her company while he's at work and then that's their baby until they get married.
- But before that happens, he will be the one who buys her little black kitten, Serendipity, for one of her birthdays.
-Speaking of living together, the jobs they'll be having are the following: Kevin is a streamer who streams pretty much anything that he wants to stream and Red is a model. They keep their dating life private for the most time. Mostly due to Red not wanting to steal attention from Kevin in any streams.
(They didn't look like a lot from where I originally posted them but, I guess, I shouldn't be so surprised, lol. I am Revin trash, after all.)

Taylor Swift, Britney Spears and the media cycle that demands pain from our pop stars
Emma Clifton 08:30, Feb 16 2021
Britney Spears was robbed of her public image during the height of her fame. Taylor Swift was robbed of her music during the height of hers.
Why does our pop culture system seem so intent on punishing the very women who keep it afloat. Emma Clifton looks at a decade in young singers â and the variously terrible ways they get treated while in the public eye.
There was a theory floated on the podcast Youâre Wrong About that âfame is abuseâ and youâd be hard pressed not to agree if you were one of the many people who saw the recent New York Times documentary Framing Britney Spears, and realised just how badly we as a society treated Britney Spears before, during, and after her rise to fame.
The paparazzi, the media, the comedians â and then the fans and look-i-loos who continued to buy all the magazines that ran headlines about what a train-wreck she was, when really she was just someone in her early twenties, trying to raise two children while being one of the most famous â and hounded â people on the planet.
The documentary discussed at length how we as a pop-culture obsessed society love to build up a talented, attractive young woman and then buy popcorn in preparation of when we can gleefully watch them tumble from grace.
(And itâs not just pop stars, of course; the resplendent rise and then the racist fall of Meghan Markleâs position in public opinion is one of the most recent examples we have of when good headlines go bad.)
When I was working at Creme magazine, between 2009 and 2012, our pages were over-flowing with talented young pop singers: Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, The Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Rihanna, One Direction, Justin Bieber.
When you look back on the decade that has passed by since, time has not been kind to any of these people.
Either the showbiz demon took something from each of them â or they had to completely disappear from sight for years at a time in order to survive. Sometimes both.
There have been eating disorders, drug overdoses, rehab stints, broken marriages, abusive relationships, chronic illnesses. These kids â and they were kids â were so young when they started, theyâre already on their fourth or fifth reinventions.
Most of them havenât hit 30 yet.
And when youâre a female pop star, so many of these reinventions revolve around your sexuality.
Heck, when I was at Creme, Demi, Selena and Miley were part of the âpurity ringâ club, where they all gushed about staying away from sex until marriage while their stylists dressed them in the tightest clothes possible.
The message from the marketing teams behind each of them was very clear: Sell sex, but donât ever enjoy it.
This is the same battle Britney faced a decade previously â look like a Lolita, but make sure you never have sex with your long-term boyfriend because then youâll be expected to cry about the shame of it on national television.
This was also the time of paparazzi trying to take up-skirt photos (exactly what it sounds like) of female actresses as soon as they turned 18; 18 â the age where you can legally have sex in America â was a big deal in pop culture.
There was a countdown for when the Olsen Twins turned 18. When Lindsay Lohan turned 18, Rolling Stone ran a breast-focused cover shoot with the headline: âHot, ready and LEGALâ. And it was just fine! Totally accepted. These girls, they were always up for it, right?
And then we get to Taylor Swift.
Taylor is re-releasing Love Story, the song that made her famous, the song that I first heard in the shower (yes, I had a shower radio) when I was 20 and immediately started crying, because it hit me square in the middle of my pop culture diagram: love songs and references to Romeo and Juliet.
Itâs from her second album, Fearless, which she wrote when she was aged 16-18 and which won her four Grammys, including Album of the Year. Itâs also an album that no longer belongs to her and she can no longer perform, due to some millionaire f...wittery committed by her former manager. But weâll get to that.
From 2008 onwards, Taylor became a big deal for her music and then, like it always does for women, her love life became the centre drama.
She never talked about a purity ring (thank God) and she sung pretty openly about sex from her third album onwards (Sparks Fly, an iconic song), plus she had the audacity to date a bunch of boys and look happy while doing so. Naturally, her punishment awaited.
To this day, she is still ridiculed about lyrics she wrote in her first couple of albums⊠songs she wrote herself when she was literally a teenager.
If I had had written an album when I was a teenager, it would have been about my crush who caught the bus, Kevin from The Backstreet Boys, worrying about my thighs, and, I donât know, my cystic acne.
Iâm just saying â we let powerful men get away with s... they pulled when they were young with the old line âboys will be boys! They were just kids!â; it just never seems that generosity is never extended to young women and their far more harmless explorations of teenage sexuality.
Because she had yet to have a public mental health crisis or rehab stint, it was clear that Taylor was never going to be the architect of her own media downfall.
Luckily, one was invented for her. After a long-lasting stoush with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, where absolutely no-one (including Taylor) came out looking good, Taylor suddenly because persona non grata in pop culture and the long-awaited comeuppance began.
And so, she disappeared â in a way that celebrities can do these days. (As a side note, can you imagine how different Britney Spearsâ life might have been if she had been allowed to disappear for a couple of years?)
It was only when she released her documentary Miss Americana on Netflix that the public got what it had been craving the whole time â the dark side of Taylor Swiftâs fame.
An eating disorder, a sexual assault that she ended up being sued for and, then, the poisoned cherry on top, losing the rights to all her past music thanks to her old manager.
Finally, our hunger for bad news had been satisfied. We had seen her scars and so we could allow her back into the spotlight again.
Itâs been interesting watching the roll-out of new music from so many of these female artists during a pandemic: Selena, Demi, Miley, Ariana Grande are among the singers who have eschewed the normal long roll-out of publicity in order to release their own music, without much of the media fanfare that typically accompanies it.
Taylor herself released two albums, without any of the (slightly inane) games she normally includes in the lead-up. You canât help but wonder that â stripped of their endless touring, performances and appearances, these female artists have found some freedom in being able to just get back to the actual work.
If a pop star releases an album in the middle of a pandemic and no-one is around to give a shit about any of the outfits sheâs wearing, does it still count? Turns out, yes.
Following the betrayal of Britney, Taylor, Miley et al by the media, you can see the slow change to have total ownership of their voice these artists have taken.
Social media can be a devil for many reasons but it has overtaken journalists and publicists as the middle man when it comes to how these women get portrayed to the public. BeyoncĂ© has been instrumental in this â it was she who first released an album overnight back in 2013; a move that came without warning and changed the entire industry forever.
She who stopped giving interviews almost entirely, choosing to use her own platforms to get her message and music across. As a result, sheâs never been more powerful and sheâs never been more private.
As an explicit âF... youâ to the powers-that-be who bought her music from under her, Taylor has announced she will be re-recording all of her old albums.
Stories about millionaires against millionaires rarely draw sympathy from a reader but it does highlight how little actually belongs to the artist at the end of the day.
They can have limited control over their image, their public appearances, their private life, their work and their songs. And these are the success stories â these are the people whose names we know.
You have to hope that anyone young and female entering the music business has their eyes very wide open as to just what can go wrong â and what can go wrong even when everything goes right.
The first album Taylor is re-releasing is Fearless, the album that is the most chock-a-block with fairy-tale imagery and glittery optimism.
Sheâs promised that the songs will be new interpretations on the old originals and that seems only fair.
You canât help but think that those fairy-tale songs are going to sound a whole lot different being sung by a 31-year-old whoâs been through the public wringer then they were as a wide-eyed 16-year-old, on the cusp of making her dreams come true.

Map of the Soul, Drabble #2
Drabble #2 - A Prom Dress Fit for a Princess
Pairing:Â Hoseok x reader
Genre: Angst, Fluff, Smut
Word Count:Â 7K+
Warnings: NSFW 18+Â cursing, sexual tension, groping, oral sex (m/f receiving), fingering, suggestive language, protected consensual sex,Â
âWhy canât we just have a normal theme for Prom?â you scoffed while looking at the garish poster in the hallway. âThis theme is totally isolating people who are planning on going to Prom without dates.â
âCostumes arenât just for couples, sweetheart,â a warm voice mutters behind you. âMust you make everything into an argument?â
You grinned at the playful tone in his voice, but you couldnât shake the need to validate your argument. You refused to turn around because you knew that the moment you saw that heart-shaped smile, youâd lose any and all conviction in furthering your point.
âIâm just saying that not everyone is going to fit into this theme,â you continued. âWhat if someone wanted to go alone or in a group? What do those people do for costumes? The only depictions on this poster are couples. Thatâs very discouraging.â
âWhat is so discouraging about Romeo & Juliet?â the voice countered. âThatâs classic literature and totally your thing.â
âA poor example, at best,â you snorted. âUnless youâre trying to go for a lame teenage romance gone completely wrong. They would not be my first choice in literary couples.â
âOh yeah?â the voice challenged. âName one better than Romeo & Juliet. I dare you.â
âThe Little Prince and his Rose,â you argued. âElizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy! Shrek and Fiona!â
Suddenly, you were whirled around and into the arms of a very handsome and very annoyed boy who was clearly not happy with your examples.
âThere is no way Iâm painting myself green,â the handsome boy growled. âThere are limits to my love, sweetheart.â
âWhat are you talking about?â you snickered at him. âYou were going to be Fiona. I was going to be Shrek. Havenât you heard of genderbent costumes, Hobi?â
Jung Hoseok rolled his eyes at you as you burst into a fit of giggles imagining him in a green ensemble complete with red wig and golden tiara. Your giggles ceased abruptly as he tugged you into a nook in the hallway and pressed his lips onto yours. It was a simple kiss, but it was enough to shut you up. Before either of you got any ideas about flaunting your PDA in the middle of the high school, Hoseok pulled away and shook his head in mock exasperation. Â Youâd been dating for nearly a year and you still knew exactly what to do and say to get him riled up and pouting. Â
âYouâre always teasing me, sweetheart,â Hoseok whined cutely. âOne of these days, Iâm going to have to punish you for being so mean to me.â
âIâm sorry, Hobi,â you cooed. âItâs just so much fun to see your feathers all ruffled.â
âNo feathers and no sequins,â Hoseok commanded. âLike I said before, I have limits.â
âFine, then we wonât be Shrek and Fiona,â you relented. âIâm sure we can figure out an amazing costume for Prom. But seriously, honey, the Prom committee should try to make some posters that are more inclusive. Maybe like group or solo costumes?â
âOk, ok,â Hoseok exclaimed. âI will talk to our marketing person and see if they can make some extra posters. I canât have the Prom Committee Chairâs girlfriend starting a ruckus over inclusivity.â
âThank you, my love,â you replied while planting a kiss on his flushed cheek. âNow, letâs get to class. Weâre starting a new project in Theatre today.â
Hand in hand, the two of you rushed off to your next class with thoughts of Prom floating around your head. -------------------------------
âThis is going to be an amazing project, baby!â Hoseok cheered. âArenât you excited?â
âWell, yeah,â you sighed. âBut there are just so many options, itâs difficult to choose just one.âÂ
Your Theatre teacherâs words echoed in your mind and you scrolled through the search results on your phone.
Your next project is to create a Fairy Tale Performance. Choose a fairytale, create your own costumes, props, and design a set. You will be performing for the elementary students in about three weeks and you will be graded on your theatrical choices and how the audience reacts to your performance.
âWhat about Hansel and Gretel?â you suggested. âI think youâd look cute in lederhosen and I can totally pull off wooden clogs and braids.â
âEwww, pass,â Hoseok winced. âThat would require a lot of set design and weâd have to find a witch. I want something that is just for the two of us.â
âOk, then what about Rapunzel?â you offered. âIt might be fun to make a massive braided wig and drape it all over the stage.â
âWhat is it with you and braids?â Hoseok chuckled. âNo, I think we can do better.â
âWell, then you pick something, Hobi,â you huffed. âIâve already suggested over a dozen different fairy tales. What exactly are you looking for?â
âSomething unique,â he smiled. âSomething just for us.â
Hand in hand, you were both deep in thought as you arrived at the community theatre to visit Hoseokâs mother. She was the head seamstress in the costume department, and Hoseok started interning as her assistant the summer before his senior year. Throughout his tenure at the theatre, Hoseok gained invaluable knowledge and skills about sewing, costuming, and all things theatre.
âHello, Mama,â Hoseok chirped as he popped his head into the costume shop. âWhat are you working on today?â
Hoseokâs mother smiled softly while running layers of fabric through her sewing machine. Yards and yards of colorful silks and satin were draped across her mannequins and you marveled at the scene before you.
âHello, my son,â Mrs. Jung replied after lifting her needle and cutting away the excess from the garment she was working on. âIâm prepping costumes for the next musical production that is set to start in about a month. Itâs going to be a large cast, so I need to have some starter costumes ready for fittings. What about you two? To what do I owe this honor?
âWe have a project for our Theatre class,â Hoseok explained. âI was hoping I could convince my wonderful mother to help me make some costumes.â
Mrs. Jung chuckled slightly and walked over to an empty mannequin to drape the newly sewn garment. She began pinning more pieces to the costume and she motioned in your direction to get more pins, which you quickly brought to her.
âThank you, dear,â she said while pinching your cheek playfully. âItâs so lovely having someone around who helps me instead of demanding more work in my already busy schedule.â
âMama,â Hoseok whined cutely. âYou know I would do this on my own if I could-â
âWell, thatâs wonderful,â Mrs. Jung cheered. âIâm so glad that youâve finally realized your potential, son. Use whatever you need in the shop, but please try to stay out of my way. Mama has a big production coming up and these costumes are excessively complicated to create. Iâm so proud of you, Hoseokie.â
With a pat on his chin, Mrs. Jung was able to help Hoseok close his dropped jaw and she tossed a wink your way as she walked into her supply closet. Hoseok dropped his head in defeat and pouted as he walked toward you.
âI guess weâre on our own, baby,â Hoseok grumbled. âI thought for sure sheâd help me out with some ideas.â
âHobi, didnât you hear her?â you admonished softly. âShe knows you can do this on your own, and besides, sheâs hella busy right now. I think we can do this, yeah?â
Hoseok sighed and sank into a seat at the spare drafting table in the costume shop. All throughout the summer, this station was his little creative corner. The two of you had even written your names on the wall by his station, complete with hearts and flowers. You glanced at the empty table and decided to help your grumpy honey along with his creative process.Â
You grabbed a sketch pad and several pencils from a nearby shelf and placed them on the table in front of him. When he refused to budge, you took up a pencil and started sketching out stick figures with your amateur drawing skills. Under each figure, you wrote the words âPrinceâ and âPrincessâ and looked up at him with your imploring eyes.
âOk, Hobi, hereâs the deal,â you began. âI will be your assistant seamstress if you can design us some costumes fit for royalty. If weâre going to put so much effort into this project, we might as well get more use out of these costumes. Letâs make them so nice that we can wear them to Prom. This will be our coupleâs costume!â
âI thought you were against the couple's costumes,â Hoseok challenged. âWerenât you just giving me grief about this at school, my love?â
âI was challenging the committeeâs lack of inclusion, not the coupleâs costumes,â you corrected. âBesides, weâre a couple. We should go as a matching pair. Just us.â
Hoseok sighed and pulled you into his arms with a whiny groan. You could actually feel him smiling into the crook of your neck, so you allowed him a little time to get all the exaggerated dismay out of his system. After planting a kiss on your forehead, Hoseok finally relented and grabbed the pencil out of your hand.
âOk, fine,â he grumbled playfully. âIâll design us some fairytale/Prom outfits, but I need something to go off of. Break out those books you got from the library and letâs pick our royal pair.â
Mrs. Jung wandered out as you were perusing the books next to the workstation and when she looked over Hoseokâs shoulder to see him sketching out foundational design concepts, she hummed thoughtfully.
Hoseok stopped drawing and tapped his pencil on the table, signaling his slight annoyance at his motherâs hovering.
âYes, Mama?â Hoseok asked sweetly. âDid you want to say something?â
âOh, no, sweetheart,â Mrs. Jung assured him. âI was just looking at your sketches. What is your project exactly?â
âWe have to perform a fairytale for the elementary students,â you explained. âBut we also want to use the costumes for Prom, so Iâm trying to find a prince and princess pair for us in one of these books.â
âI see,â Mrs. Jung responded. âDid you find a Korean fairytale then?â
âNot yet,â you replied. âIâm still looking.â
âReally?â Mrs. Jung replied with a tilt of her head. âThen why is Hoseokie drawing a hanbok?â
You stepped over to look at Hoseokâs drawing, and sure enough, there was a figure wearing a stylish hanbok on the page. Hoseok tilted his head in confusion at his drawing and shrugged with a giggle.
âJust drawing what I know, I guess,â Hoseok grinned. âSorry.â
âDonât be sorry, Hobi,â you smiled. âThat actually looks beautiful. Do you want me to find a Korean fairytale then?â
âOh, you wonât find many Korean fairytales about princes or princesses, my dear,â Mrs. Jung explained. âOur culture doesnât have a Cinderella or a Snow White. Itâs a shame, really. You would look radiant in a hwarot, sweetheart, and my Hoseokie would look so dashing in a classic hanbok.â
âWell, maybe they donât have to be a part of the story,â you suggested. âMaybe Hoseok and I can just dress up as Korean royalty and recite a Korean fairytale like that?â
âHey, thatâs a great idea,â Hoseok beamed. âI could make our costumes look amazing and we can just act like royal storytellers.â
âAnd then we can wear the costumes to Prom!â you gushed. âOh, Hobi, itâs perfect.â
âThank you, Mama,â Hoseok called out as Mrs. Jung made her way back to the sewing machine.
âFor what?â Mrs. Jung smirked. âI didnât do anything.â ------------------
After a few days of sketching, Hoseok finally had two amazing designs prepared for your costumes. His traditional hanbok had a few modern embellishments and he was planning all sorts of accessories to accent the outfit completely. Additionally, Hoseok scoured Korean history books for images and designs for a proper hwarot that only a Korean princess could wear. Side by side, the outfits were going to look phenomenal, and you were so excited to start making them.
Hoseok already had his own measurements, and you were eager for him to take your measurements so he could start pulling fabric for your gown. Mrs. Jung set aside several bolts of colorful fabric that Hoseok noticed were reflecting the colors of the Korean flag. Bold royal blue silk and vibrant red brocade joined piles of black satin, gold ribbons, and delicate strands of beads surrounding Hoseokâs workstation.
You arrived at the theatre after your marching band rehearsal, and you hoped that Hoseok didnât mind that you were dressed in shorts and a baggy T-shirt. Once you entered the costume shop, your worries were allayed when Hoseok handed you a simple muslin tunic to put on.
âYouâre going to have to wear this under the hwarot,â Hoseok explained. âIâll be able to get better measurements this way. Donât worry if itâs loose. The other garments will layer over it.â
You slipped away to the dressing room to change and when you returned, Hoseok was nowhere to be found. You wandered around backstage and eventually came across the empty stage with the ghost light shining brightly across the theatre. Light classical music could be heard from the backstage area, and you couldnât help swaying and spinning in time with the music.
As you made your way across the stage, you imagined you were performing for a packed audience and your movements increased dramatically. You fictionalized a ballet where you were seeking out your lost love, and you focused on the ghost light stand as your absent prince. You ended your impromptu performance by embracing the ghost light and were startled by sudden applause emanating from the wings.
âBravo, princess,â Hoseok called out. âMagnificent!â
You swiped at your burning cheeks and pranced into the wings to bury your face into his shoulder. As embarrassed as you were, Hoseok knew better than to tease you for too long. You pulled back and pouted at his brilliant smile, which prompted him to assault your face with a dozen kisses. You giggled at first, but the lighthearted feeling in your chest shifted into something steamier as Hoseok nipped at the sensitive spot on your neck. You pulled him back behind the curtain and proceeded to devour his lips hungrily.
You half expected Hoseok to put a stop to your lustful advances, but there was something different about Hoseok now. His hands were not resting tentatively on your hips, but were grasping at your skin and sliding back against your ass. His hips refused to keep their distance, instead choosing to grind against your stomach, revealing a hearty erection. His voice lacked any of the whiny nature you usually heard, but instead housed a deep growl which sent shivers down your spine.
âHobi,â you whispered. âWhatâs gotten into you?â
âItâs this slip you have on, princess,â Hoseok explained while nibbling on your ear. âItâs practically sheer under those lights. You have no idea how incredible you looked dancing around like that.â
âOh yeah?â you gasped as he reached up to fondle your breast. âDid you like what you saw?â
âYou have no idea,â Hoseok groaned. âIt was so hot. I just want to keep touching you. Maybe unwrap you like a birthday present?â
You moaned lightly at his suggestion and reached between you to grip the stiffness pressing against your stomach. Hoseokâs hips shot forward and he stilled completely in your arms.
Before he could refuse, you reached in and took a hold of his hardened length and began stroking it slowly. Hoseok braced his arms against the wall and huffed out a groan at your ministrations. Sensing that this needed to be something quick, you dropped to your knees and wrapped your lips around the strained head of his penis. Hoseokâs moan was muffled as he buried his face into arm, and he restrained his hips from thrusting forward as you brought him to his climax effortlessly.
Hoseok still marveled at your insistence of swallowing while going down on him, but he respected your decision. Who was he to argue if your main concern was cleaning up an unnecessary mess? Hoseok helped you back to your feet and sought out your lips, not even caring that he could taste his own cum in your mouth. As hot and heavy as things were getting, one of you needed to get a grip on the situation before you got busted.
âShit,â Hoseok breathed out while leaning his forehead against your own. âWe canât do this, princess.â
âI know, Hobi,â you sighed out airily. âYouâre right. We shouldnât be fooling around in the theatre. Your mom would kill us.â
âI mean, yeah, youâre right, she would,â Hoseok chuckled. âBut I meant that Iâm still not ready to go any further.â
âHobi,â you replied with worry. âI wasnât trying to pressure you into anything, my love. I told you I would wait and I meant it.â
âI know,â Hoseok grumbled. âBut a few more minutes of this and I wonât be able to control myself, so we need to stop.â
"Oh, yeah?" you smirked. "What happened to all that self control of yours? Did you lose it somewhere?"
"Yeah," Hoseok sighed while gripping your hips. "It went out the window when I saw you in this slip, princess."
You pressed one last kiss to Hoseokâs lips and you straightened out your clothing before heading back to the costume shop. You both stopped at the bathroom to freshen up and then strolled back to the costume shop hand in hand.
The rest of the afternoon was ripe with sexual tension, and every time Hoseokâs fingers danced across your skin as he took your measurements, you fought the urge to shiver or whine or make any kind of sound that would sound sensual in any way. Hoseok was also struggling while on his knees in front you, inhaling the faint smell of your arousal through the thin muslin.
After that sexually charged work session, you and Hoseok agreed to go out for dinner, but first, you both ended up in the backseat of your car with your legs over his shoulders and his tongue buried in your dripping cunt. Several orgasms later, you were both satiated and decided to end the night with a quick bite to eat at your favorite drive-in restaurant. While you were stealing some of his curly fries, you noticed a pensive look on Hoseokâs face.
âWhatâs the matter, Hobi?â you asked. âIs everything ok?â
âYeah,â Hoseok stated unconvincingly. âItâs fine.â
âHobi,â you sighed. âWhat is it? You can tell me.â
Hoseok's shoulders sagged as he put his half-eaten burger on the dashboard and turned toward you in his seat. You followed his lead and did the same, apprehension clouding your mind as you took in the furrowed brows on your boyfriendâs face.
âAre you happy with me, princess?â Hoseok murmured quietly. âAre you sure that Iâm enough for you?â
âWhat are you talking about, Hobi?â you blurted out. âOf course, Iâm happy with you! I love you so much, and I canât imagine my life without you.â
âI know you love me,â Hoseok pouted. âAnd I love you too, but sometimes, I feel like maybe you wish I could give you more. I know weâve already talked about this a lot, but it still bothers me when I pull away from you like I did earlier.â
âBaby,â you cooed. âHave I ever given you any indication that Iâm not totally satisfied in our relationship?â
âNo,â Hoseok admitted. âBut I know youâre used to more than what Iâm giving you. I know you and Taehyung were very active, and I feel like I could never measure up to him. I mean, you guys call each other soulmates. How am I not supposed to wonder whether he could give you more than I can?â
You leaned forward and cupped Hoseokâs face with your hands. The distress on his face was unbearable and you resisted the urge to plant a million kisses on his face so that you could assuage his grief.
âSoulmate or not, Taehyung is not you,â you reminded him. âI love you, Jung Hoseok, and it doesnât matter that youâre a virgin and Iâm not. You are all I need, and you have nothing to prove to me or anyone else. Just be you, Hobi. That is more than enough for me.â
Hoseok took a deep breath and nodded as best he could with his face squished between your palms. You smiled at the glimmer of hope in his eyes and you prayed that he believed the truth of your words. You leaned in to press a kiss onto his lips and when you pulled away, his face broke into a vibrant smile. The glassy look in his eyes confirmed that he was on the verge of tears and you hated that he was torturing himself unnecessarily. You grabbed a napkin and tried to dab at the corners of his eyes, but he wrapped his slender fingers around your wrist
âIâm ok, princess,â Hoseok assured you. âIâm just so happy that you feel that way. I know I get a little insecure about our physical relationship, but you never fail to make me feel so loved and wanted. Thank you for that.â
With a kiss to your wrist, Hoseok released the tension heâd been holding in his shoulders in a long exhale. He took the napkin from your hand and dabbed at his misty eyes comically to drain his lashes of the tears heâd been holding back. You couldnât help but laugh at his attempt at comedy in the midst of your serious discussion, but that was your Hoseok.
Such an amazing person. How did I get so lucky? ------------------
âCan you hand me that black ribbon, princess?â Hoseok called out from behind the mannequin. âThe velvet one, not the satin one.â
You grabbed the three black ribbons that looked like velvet and offered them to Hoseok, who was kneeling and pinning ribbons to the back of his hanbok. He looked up at you and grinned at the options you displayed in your hands. After grabbing one of the spools, he shook his head and started pinning more ribbon to the flowing fabric.
âDo we need to review fabrics again, princess?â Hoseok joked. âDidnât we cover this over the summer?â
âHobi,â you groaned. âA lot of these ribbons look the same. How am I supposed to keep them all straight? Thatâs your job.â
He simply chuckled and snipped the ribbon on the spool before pinning the last bit of ribbon on the edge of the hanbokâs hem. As he stood, he examined the other bits of fabric and ribbon pinned to his creation and hummed in satisfaction. He emerged from behind the mannequin and set down his sewing supplies on the workstation. After pulling you into a back hug, he leaned his head on your shoulder and sighed happily.
âSo, what do you think, princess?â he questioned playfully. âDo you like it? Is this what you imagined your prince wearing?â
You dragged your gaze across the bold colors, the clever embellishments, and the hint of modern flair that Hoseok managed to imbue into his creation and you were astonished. You knew he was skilled, but this latest creation was beyond anything youâd expected. His hanbok was worthy of being displayed in a museum; such intricacy, such craftsmanship, such finery.
âItâs perfect, Hobi,â you exhaled. âYou truly are a master at this.â
âIâd say so,â piped up a voice from the corner of the room.
You and Hoseok turned to look over at Mrs. Jung who was hanging up another one of her prepped costumes on a hanger. It was magnificent and you were dazzled by the brilliant green and yellow accents sheâd applied to the blue skirting. She brushed away a few wrinkles and stepped forward to look at her sonâs garment.
âThe line work is very good, Hoseokie,â she complimented. âI like how you took the original design and made it your own. A lot of heart went into this, I can tell. Well done, my son.â
âThank you,â Hoseok beamed. âI canât take all the credit though. I had an amazing teacher.â
Mother and son smiled brilliantly at each other before stepping forward for a tight hug. Mrs. Jung pulled a handkerchief from her apron and gently dabbed at her eyes. Hoseok cleared his throat awkwardly and sniffled slightly before lifting his motherâs free hand into his own. Their eyes met and glowed with affection and unbridled respect.
âEomma,â Hoseok addressed his mother kindly. âThank you for teaching me everything. I only hope that I can reproduce a fraction of your passion and talent. You inspire me to do great things, and I canât tell you how grateful I am for all of the time we spend in this shop together.â
âJung Hoseok,â his mother smiled. âIt is not your talent which brings me pride. It is the dedication to your work which makes me happy. Youâre an artist, son. I only sought to nurture the skills you already possessed naturally.â
Hoseok kissed her hand and she ruffled his hair before going back across the room and into the storage closet. You grabbed another tissue and dabbed at the tears which manifested while watching the tender moment between mother and son. Hoseok smiled softly at your emotional reaction and pulled you into his arms to soothe your tears.
âThere, there, princess,â he said sweetly. âYou donât have to cry on my account.â
âIâm not,â you pouted. âThat was just incredibly moving. You and your mom are #LifeGoals. I donât have that kind of relationship with my mom.â
âYeah,â Hoseok agreed. âBut you do get all mushy and sweet with your dad. Iâve seen it firsthand.â
âI guess youâre right,â you relented. âI donât know how youâre going to be able to finish my outfit. This one took you quite some time to complete and it isnât even sewn together yet. Are you sure we didnât take on too much, Hobi?â
âNot to worry, princess,â Hobi grinned. âYour hwarot was done yesterday.â
Hoseok stepped around you and pulled a sheet off of the mannequin behind you. You gasped at the glory he revealed and reached out a trembling hand to run your fingers across the royal blue satin of the bodice.
âOh, Hobi,â you whispered. âItâs breathtaking.â
You explored the various folds of blue fabric, the silver brocade accents, the black ribbons sewn into the bodice creating a fitted curvature that stepped away from traditional and spoke of a modern interpretation of the original design. The hwarot heâd sketched originally was an exact replica of the designs in the history books, but this new iteration was unique and fresh while still maintaining the original structure of the gown.
âHow did you come up with this design, Hobi?â you cooed. âItâs amazing.â
âWell, I started out with the original design,â Hoseok explained. âBut honestly, I just kept thinking about you in that slip dancing around the stage. I couldnât get your curves out of my head, so I decided to highlight them a little with those lines on the bodice. You were my inspiration, princess.â
You blushed under his praise and stepped behind the hwarot to look at the intricate lacing on the back of the bodice. The collar of the hwarot remained intact, but there was a large section under the collar that was left open. The bodice started lacing just above where your bra line started and continued down to the hip line before billowing out thanks to the petticoat underneath.
âThis is the most incredible costume Iâve ever seen, Hobi,â you gushed. âI canât get over how gorgeous it is.â
Hoseok reached over and took your hands into his own before kissing the tops of both. You smiled as brought you closer to him, pulling your hands to his chest.
âA gorgeous gown for my gorgeous princess,â Hoseok grinned. âThe only thing more beautiful than this gown is you, my love. I canât wait to see you in it.â
With a final kiss to your forehead, Hoseok stepped back to his hanbok and began pulling it off the mannequin so he could start sewing everything together. You changed into your muslin slip and Mrs. Jung took a few moments to help you into the completed hwarot, much to Hoseokâs pleasure. The compliments and praise showered upon you and Hoseok brought unimaginable joy to Mrs. Jung and she quickly excused herself once again to dab away the tears from her face.
After both outfits were sewn together and a final fitting took place, you and Hoseok gathered your things and gave Mrs. Jung a heartfelt goodbye. Your presentation was less than a week away and Prom was happening immediately after that. It was time to get ready to premiere Hoseokâs greatest creation. --------------------
âYou guys were amazing today,â Hyejin gushed. âThe kids loved your presentation. My little brother was talking to all of his friends about it.â
âThanks,â you cheered while carefully arranging your hwarot into its garment bag. âIt was so much fun. Hobi is such a ham. He was a hit as the goofy prince.â
âAnd you were the envy of every girl in our class,â Hyejin sighed. âThat dress is absolutely gorgeous. I still canât believe that he sewed your outfits himself. The man is crazy talented.â
âTell me about it,â you giggled. âItâs not fair.â
âWhatâs not fair?â came a voice from the hallway. âAre you talking about me, princess?â
Hoseok appeared with his garment bag and another tote full of accessories. As you finished packing up your gown, he collected the various props youâd placed on the desk.
âI was talking about you, my prince,â you cooed. âYou were incredible today.â
âThank you, thank you,â he beamed while bowing with a red plush dragon in his hand. âIf I was incredible, then you were superb, princess. The kids loved you and I can confidently say that we aced that presentation.â
âWell, Iâve gotta head to practice,â Hyejin announced while gathering her things. âIâll see you guys at Prom tomorrow.â
You both said your goodbyes to Hyejin as she skipped out the door and you zipped up your garment bag after folding the last yard of fabric inside and securing the hanger. Hoseok placed the last bauble into his tote and zipped it up as well. He looked over at you and opened his arms comically.
âCome here, princess,â he demanded. âGive your prince a hug.â
You leaned into his embrace and the two of you just held each other for a few moments, allowing the excitement of the afternoon to dwindle into a pleasant buzz. You leaned your head back to look into Hoseokâs face and the two of you smiled as your eyes met.
âIâm so proud of you, Hobi,â you said. âYou never cease to amaze me. Iâm so lucky to have you in my life.â
âIâm the lucky one, princess,â Hoseok corrected while tucking a lock of hair behind your ear. âI get to have this incredible, beautiful, sexy girl in my life. You make me feel so loved. I just wish you could understand how much you mean to me.â
You shook your head at his sentiment and kissed his lips. As you pulled away, he continued to look at you like the answers to the universe were in your eyes.
Overwhelmed by the intensity of his gaze, you giggled and booped him on the nose before turning to gather your things. You turned to see Hoseok staring at you fondly with hooded lids and a devious smirk.
"What, Hobi?" you pried. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"No reason," Hoseok shrugged. "Just thinking about how beautiful my princess looked in that gown. I can't wait to see you in it tomorrow at Prom."
"Well," you teased while pinching his cheek playfully. "I will make sure that I am very careful when I get dressed tomorrow. I want to look extra special for my prince."
Hoseok waited until you were almost to the door before he reached over to grab his bags.
"You be careful putting it on," he murmured quietly, just out of earshot. "I'll be careful taking it off."
You missed the mischievous smirk on Hoseok's face because as soon as you turned around, it was replaced by a glowing smile.
"Let's go, princess," Hoseok chirped. "I have a lot to do before tomorrow and so do you."
Hoseok placed another lingering kiss on your lips and headed down the hallway next to you.
It's time. ------------------
The lights were flashing and the music was pulsating throughout the ballroom. After posing for your Prom portraits and making the rounds to all your friends, you and Hoseok were seated with a random assortment of refreshments.
"Isn't it wonderful, Hobi?" you gushed. "You and the committee did an amazing job. Everyone looks so good in their outfits!"
"Not as good as you look, princess," Hoseok commented. "Not one person holds a candle to you tonight."
'It's all because of you Hobi," you exclaimed. "You created a masterpiece when you made these outfits."
"Only because you were my Muse," Hoseok purred. "Care to dance, princess? Let's show off my inspiration to everyone."
You nodded enthusiastically and took his hand as he escorted you to the dance floor. The music transitioned into a thumping R&B tune and Hoseok pulled your arms around his neck as he swiveled and gyrated his hips to the sultry beat. You hummed with satisfaction as his thigh pressed in between your legs, mere inches from your center.
You were both sweaty with exertion and when the R&B groove gave way to a slow melodic love song, you both breathed a sigh of relief.
"Whew," you breathed out. âThat was fun, but I need a minute to catch my breath.â
âAlready, princess?â Hoseok teased. âI thought youâd have more stamina than that.â
You pouted and smacked his arm playfully and his giggles filled your ears deliciously. With the multicolored lights bouncing across the dance floor and the light dusting of imitation fog, you twirled around the dance floor with your handsome prince. He spun you around once again and you couldnât keep yourself from smiling at his sparkling eyes and buoyant smile. When the song switched to another slow song, you sighed happily and leaned your head on his shoulder.
âOnce more around the ballroom, princess?â Hoseok asked sweetly. âOr are you done making everyone else jealous with your unparalleled beauty?â
You nodded against his shoulder and he waltzed the two of you into a shadowy corner of the dance floor. You were in the midst of soaking up this romantic moment when Hoseokâs hands began to wander into the silken folds of your gown and your breath hitched when his fingers found your center.
âHobi,â you squeaked. âWhat are you doing?â
âYou look incredible in that gown, princess,â he breathed out huskily. âI can only imagine how youâd look without it on.â
Your eyes widened significantly and you pulled back to look at Hoseokâs face. Full blown lust was darkening his gaze and the dimples around his lips deepened as he grinned. Youâd seen your boyfriend aroused before, but this was something else entirely.
âHobi,â you exhaled shakily. âWhatâs gotten into you?â
His smile softened and he leaned in to kiss your lips gently, raising a hand behind your neck to hold you in place as you shared the sweetest collection of kisses he had to offer.
âPrincess,â he murmured against your lips. âThis past year with you has been one of the happiest of my life. I canât even remember what my life was like before you were in it.â
âOh, Hobi,â you shivered. âYou make me happy too. I love you so much.â
âI love you, tooâ Hoseok whispered into your ear. âIn fact, I love you so much that I might have built up this impossible image in my mind that you are untouchable and precious. So precious that you will break if I push you too hard.â
âIâm not a delicate little flower, Hobi,â you grumbled. âAnd you havenât been pushing me at all. If anything, I feel like Iâm the one pushing you sometimes.â
âAbsolutely not,â Hoseok snapped. âYouâve been nothing but patient and understanding, and I am so grateful that you allowed me to come to terms with my virginity on my own.â
âHobi,â you whined. âI donât care if youâre a virgin. I already told you that. We donât have to do anything just because I have before. I just want to be with you. Thatâs all I need.â
âI know,â Hoseok sighed. âAnd it only makes me love you more.â
Hoseok punctuated his statement with another kiss to your lips, lingering on your bottom lip and nibbling on it hungrily. You were thankful for the lack of lighting in this corner and the excess fog collected around you. You didnât want to get kicked out of Prom for making out with your boyfriend on the dance floor.
âI know this is going to sound totally clichĂ©,â Hoseok murmured against your lips. âBut I really want to make this prom night memorable. I think Iâm ready to make love to you, princess. Will you let me show you just how much I love you?â
You shivered with excitement and took a moment to fully appreciate the look on his face, your thighs clenching at the unbidden desire pulsing in his dilated pupils, and you bit your lip with anticipation.
âYes, Hobi,â you smiled demurely. âIâm ready.â
Before the music could stop playing, you wandered back to your table to gather your things. After a quick stop at the bathroom, you walked back into the parking lot toward Hoseokâs vehicle. Your options were limited since you were both still high school students living at home, so Hoseok made a split second decision and drove toward the coast. --------------------------
âHand me that other blanket, princess,â Hoseok instructed. âGo ahead and take off your shoes. You can leave them in the front seat.â
As Hoseok laid yet another blanket in the back, you thanked the gods for his SUV and the seats that folded down to a nice level plane. After layering a few fluffy blankets from your last camping trip, there was a nice layer of comfort for you both to lay on. Once you discarded your shoes and accessories, Hoseok was careful to undress and hang his outer layers across the back windows. He helped you do the same and stretched your gown across the front seats so that you were tented in with the vibrant colors of the Korean flag.
Hoseokâs undershirt and boxers were clinging to his body with perspiration, and he couldnât keep his eyes from roving across your own body covered with that simple muslin slip. With practiced precision, he reached down and ran his fingers from your exposed ankle all the way up to the slit across your thigh.
âIâve been waiting to touch you in this slip since that day I caught you dancing in the theatre,â Hoseok admitted. âYou were so intoxicating in that spotlight, your curves clearly visible under this thin material for my eyes only. I think I fell for you all over again that day.â
You shuffled closer and placed your hand on his cheek, shivering when his palm slid further up your thigh to your hip.
âI fall for you every day, Hobi,â you replied. âI feel so precious and desirable when Iâm with you.â
âYou should always feel like that,â Hoseok insisted. âBecause thatâs what you are, princess. Precious and the only thing that I truly desire.â
As soon as those words left Hoseokâs lips, he pulled you closer so he could devour your lips, his hand tangling into your hair while the other pushed your slip up further. In between heated kisses, you both began discarding your remaining articles of clothing until you were both left completely bare, grinding against each other in search of friction.
âWait, princess,â Hoseok gasped as your hand wrapped around his stiff length. âLet me get the condoms.â
Hoseok reached between the seats and pulled out a 12-pack of condoms from his tote. Your eyes widened at the extra large pack, and you gawked at the open box that was clearly only half full.
âUmm, Hobi,â you queried. âWhat happened to all the other condoms in that box?â
âOh,â Hoseok grumbled. âI wanted to get some practice putting one on and it took a few tries to get it right.â
You giggled at his embarrassment and kissed his flushed cheeks. Once the passion reignited, you were both fumbling with the foil square, trying to get it open and onto his swollen dick.
âHold on, princess,â Hoseok groaned. âI want to make sure youâre ready for me.â
Hoseok shifted further down and latched onto your hardened nipple while dipping his slender fingers into your flooded depths. After stroking your clit and inserting not one, not two, but three fingers into you, Hoseok shuffled his body in between your legs and then paused. His heavy breathing was either a product of his passion or his lingering anxiety. You were about to reassure him that there was no need to rush, but he started rubbing the tip of his penis along your folds and you lost all sense of reason.
âFuck, Hobi,â you moaned. âThat feels so good. Donât stop.â
âI have no intention of stopping,â Hoseok groaned. âIn fact, I think I want more, princess.â
Hoseok shifted his hips forward and slipped into your hot center, earning him an even louder moan from you. You arched your back and encouraged him to thrust even deeper into you, which proved to be his breaking point.
âShit,â Hoseok growled. âThis is the most amazing thing Iâve ever felt. How the fuck did I go so long without doing this with you, princess?â
He pulled back and slammed forward with more force and the high pitched âHobiâ you released made him grin.
âThatâs right, princess,â Hoseok encouraged. âLet it all out. Tell the world whoâs making you feel this good. Tell them who you belong to.â
Once the initial shock wore off, Hoseok found that his body and yours were a perfect fit. The more he gave, the more you took, the two of you fitting together like puzzle pieces, his hips continuously snapping into you, his hands gripping your ass and shoulder for leverage, your nails digging into his back with delicious licks of pain, your legs wrapped around his waist, your voice begging for more.
He was so enthralled with you, and he completely ignored any indicators that his body was heading toward any type of climax. Usually, heâd blow his load after youâd blown him for a few minutes or after youâd given him a short hand job. But now, he unearthed a mountain of stamina and only your cries of pleasure captured his attention. There was no way you were ending this night until heâd given you several orgasms. His own pleasure was shelved to serve you and nothing else mattered.
Once you were both sated, you cuddled against his sweaty chest trying to catch your breath after so much exertion. Hoseok trailed his fingers up and down your back and continued to kiss every inch he could reach. You never felt so revered or loved before.
âThis really was the perfect evening,â you commented. âI wish it could last forever.â
âForever?â Hoseok inquired. âIs that what my princess wants? Then thatâs what Iâll give her.â
You hummed your assent and lifted your head to kiss him again. The hazy look in his eyes was a testament to his love and you thanked the gods for blessing you with such an amazing man in your life. The night was indeed memorable and you were somewhat disappointed when you had to put your clothes back on so he could take you home.
âCome on, princess,â Hoseok coaxed. âOur parents will kill us if we stay out all night. Weâre already going to be late as it is.â
âI know,â you grumbled while pulling on your underwear. âI just feel like I wonât get many more of these nights with you. Youâre graduating in a few months and then youâre leaving me to go to college.â
âDonât say it like that, princess.â Hoseok admonished. âYou only have one more year left and then youâll be doing the same. There is a lot of time between now and when I have to leave. Weâll figure something out.â
âYou promise?â you pouted.
âI promise,â Hoseok chuckled as he kissed your pouty lips. âNow, letâs get you home.â
You drove off away from the coast with the windows down, trying to air out the smell of sweat and sex from his vehicle. Once you pulled back into town, you raised the windows so you could fix your hair. If anyone saw you walking in with âsex hair,â youâd never hear the end of it. You took another glance at Hoseok, eyeing the flush of color dusting across his face after your sexual escapade, and you smiled.
Such a handsome prince. I hope nothing ever pulls us apart. I donât know if Iâd be able to handle that.
You pulled his hand into your own and looked out at the flashing landscape. Prom night may have been clichĂ©, but no one could convince you that it hadnât been perfect.

top 10 favorite new-to-you operas of 2020 and top 10 favorite overall opera productions (which can be ones youâve watched before 2020) of 2020, as well as why! (take all the time and space you need to answer this one)
thanks!! :)
top 10 favorite new-to-me operas (tried to remember the order in which I first watched them, but I could be wrong): La fille du régiment Just a really fun, humorous, adorable opera with a great cast of lovable characters and some really slappy tunes. Les Huguenots This one went onto my list of top favorite operas almost immediately. Another cast of amazing characters (aside from the really despicable villain), especially some lovely leading ladies; adorable trouser role who gets two (preferably) arias; some really gorgeous music; and an absolutely devastating tragic ending that's so powerful and meaningful. Idomeneo The ladies are fighting over the mezzo; Idamante is one of the cutest and purest opera characters EVER; incorporates Greek Mythology which is one of my favorite things; great cast of characters (though Idomeneo himself still drives me crazy); very sapphic; lovely relationship between the main couple (kinda enemies-to-friends-to-lovers); and again some really great music La clemenza di Tito TWO mezzo bois; very VERY gay on all levels; angst with a happy ending (though depending on the production the ending can be more ambiguous than happy); entire cast of Disaster Bis; one of the smartest sopranos in the world (Servilia); lovely portrayals of loyalty and friendship; and, of course, some AMAZING music. Cendrillon Mezzo love. That's pretty much all I need to say. But also it's got a lot of my favorite things: the libretto is super poetic and beautiful; the music is absolutely fantastic at evoking the fairy tale feel, especially in the scene in the forest; wonderful lovable characters; and simply ethereal music and singing for the leading ladies. Chérubin it's the adventures of our dear Cherubino, what more could I want? How can I not love an opera that's all about this wonderful disaster child? It's so lighthearted and fun and sweet and also just really spot-on hilarious. I was laughing my head off the entire time. Plus it's Massenet so the music is gorge, especially the mezzo music :D Benvenuto Cellini Not least because it introduced me to one of my favorite trouser roles, but also because (as we've discussed) it has basically everything you need in a (not-tragic) opera: fantastic cast of lovable, wonderful characters; exciting and somewhat angsty plot; joyous happy ending; really cute and pure lead couple; adorable trouser role; Disaster Bi hilarious semi-villain you just can't help but love; some really fantastic music; and so much fun and hilarity in general. La Rondine I give this one props because it somehow made me bawl my eyes out even though no one dies. And of course it's the whole Puccini "let's pretend this thing is an operetta for an hour and a half :) and make everything all lighthearted and happy :) and have everyone just have a great time singing some wonderful music :) and then break everyone's heart in the last half hour and leave them obliterated." Also that ensemble in Act II just makes me CRY even though it's like the happiest bit of the opera?? it's just so freaking pretty omg. Alcina Props for being one of the frickin gayest operas on the planet. Also contains one of my favorite pieces of music ever in the history of ever. In general has a lot of opportunities for folks being gay as heck. Oronte can fall off the face of the earth, though. Also I am a sucker for Handel in general. Plus mezzos loving mezzos. Can't go wrong with mezzos loving mezzos. (Yeah, I know technically Rugierro can be played by a countertenor, but I don't watch those ones ;p ) The plot is still "WTF???" in my head, but does that really matter when it's basically one nonstop gay mess? Die Fledermaus Really don't understand how this took so long to get into my life (especially because German operetta was my Thing back in the day) but now that it's in my life I love it to pieces. One of the most iconic trouser roles ever, and an entire cast full of lovable buffoons, as well as just one bop after another. Plus a really slapstick plot. Basically laughed through the entire show.
10 favorite overall opera productions of 2020: It was so hard to narrow this one down! I've seen so many amazing opera productions this year. To make it a little easier for me, I tried to focus on productions of operas that weren't new to me this year (though I HAD to put the Pelly Cendrillon on here. I couldn't not) so I could focus more on the production itself. These ones arenât in any particular order bc Iâm lazy:
Sher Hoffmann (Met 2009/2015) Surprise, surprise. I simply adore the production, set, costumes, staging, etc.--all so wonderfully weird and delightfully eccentric, without distracting from the very odd and complicated story. Plus, I love the casts in both performances, esp. Kate Lindsey but you knew that already ;) Sher Barbiere (Met 2017) Three words: DiDonato. Flórez. Mattei. Plus Del Carlo and Relyea and it's Sher so really, where can it possibly go wrong?? It's an absolute delight from beginning to end that just takes all the comedic gold from the story and runs with it, and, as with his Hoffmann, provides a delightfully eccentric set and staging without being distracting. Salzburg 2013 Don Carlo Super gay, amazing cast, beautiful production, contains material not seen many other places, and introduced me to Maria Celeng's Tebaldo, which will undoubtably forever be my favorite. Did I mention how gay it is? Garsington 2017 Nozze A really fun, charming, heartwarming, and beautiful staging of one of my favorite operas. I love the cast and set and costumes and that people in general are pretty nice to Cherubino, and the Count isn't as creepy or mean as in some productions, and has some legit nice moments with Rosina during the opera so his apology at the end actually comes across as kinda genuine. In particular I love the really adorable Figaro and Susanna (individually adorable, as well as being a really adorable couple) and Cherubino. Pelly Cendrillon (Met 2018/ROH 2010) Super gorgeous production that does an amazing job evoking the fairy tale feel. Not thrilled with 100% of the choreography but I love pretty much everything else about it--the sets, the staging, the cast (especially the Met cast, though there is one little detail in the ROH one I like better) and even the lighting are super intricate and effective. Munich 2011 Hoffmann Just a really delightfully weird take on this opera, with a great cast, some fantastic singing, hilarious sets and costumes, and some quirky staging and edit choices that make it really unique and fun. Met 2017 (Sher) Roméo et Juliette I should basically just say everything by Sher is my favorite now huh? I legit want to write this guy some fan mail because his work (especially for Hoffmann) has in a lot of ways just been really meaningful to me. I didn't even like this opera until I saw this production. It's so GORGEOUS and timeless and yet simple and sweet, and the cast is to die for. Met 2017 Norma Flippin gay, that's really all I need to say, oh my lord. Plus the cast is amazing. Honeslty don't remember much about the sets or costumes, I just remember how amazingly gay it is. Met 2009 Orfeo ed Euridice The dancing in particular is what draws me to this one, but also the expansive moving sets and some really heartbreaking choreography and blocking. Side note, I know a lot of people are annoyed with Amor's outfit, but I love how ridiculous her sparkly pink ensemble is compared with the sombre outfits of the leading cast (and chorus representing all those famous dead people historical figures). I mean, she's basically Cupid, right? When has Cupid every been spiffy or dignified? Plus the whole thing is super gay and really underrated in my opinion. Bonus: Stephanie Blythe is now hands-down my favorite Orfeo. La Scala 1995 Hoffmann Set and costumes are okay, effective but not particularly memorable, but holy lord is this one GAY as hell. That's my favorite thing about it, plus much of the cast (Mentzer and Shicoff, obviously, as well as Natalie Dessay being my favorite Olympia and Denyce Graves being one of my top favorite Giuliettas). There are a few kind of weird things about the staging, and the edit is far from being my favorite, but I adore how fully it embraces every aspect of gay that this opera presents. Plus it's one of the few I've seen that actually has a legit nice ending (others being Munich and Sher).
Thanks for the ask, sorry it got kinda long!

Precure Day 186
Episode: Yes! Precure 5 38 - âPrecure 5âČs Cinderella Storyâ Date watched: 15 May 2020 Original air date: 28 October 2007 Screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/Sc5B6vA Transformation Gallery: https://imgur.com/a/6k6SzS0 Project info and master list of posts: http://tinyurl.com/PCDabout
Glass slippers: not even once
This episode introduces an idea that will get explored a fair few times in series down the road: the fairy tale episode. Cinderella is a particularly popular one, because itâs a simple story that little girls can imagine themselves in and thereâs a lot of room to play with the narrative. Itâs hardly a revolutionary idea for fiction, but itâs still fun to see how Precure plays with it, and the spin in this episode is particularly unusual for manifesting in two different ways. Letâs explore!
The Plot
Milk decides to try copying down the story of Cinderella for writing practice, as she plans to write her own novel a la Komachi, and copying a book is apparently a good way to study story structure. However, she gets bored copying it verbatim, so she decides to put her own spin on the narrative, portraying the cures as the characters. Nozomi is Cinderella, Komachi is the evil mother, Rin and Karen are the evil sisters, and Urara is the witch (no fairy godmother here). Coco fills the role of the prince at the ball and Nuts is another nobleman. All of the characters are strangely self-aware, except for Nozomi. They know the story of Cinderella, they know theyâre characters in it, theyâre basically going through the motions as the story dictates. When Urara shows up to give Nozomi her magical makeover, she winds up transforming her into other fictional characters first before she gets it right.
this dress should look familiar
Once sheâs at the ball, Nozomi trips and falls, getting the attention of Prince Coco, who in turn dances with her. Nuts also approaches Komachi and asks her to dance, commenting that itâs just the kind of story theyâre in. Karen and Rin have an exchange where they ask who Coco is dancing with despite both of them knowing exactly who it is. Urara shows up in a gown, and everyone knows she was supposed to be the witch. Did I mention it was weird? And to reiterate, Milk is writing this, these arenât the real Nozomi and co. transported into the story. Milk has written them to be self-aware. What a strange book. Anyway, she has Nozomi trip and fall and they all end up in a pile on the ground and thatâs where her story leaves off when sheâs interrupted by the real girls knocking on her door. She hides her writing from them and tries to find somewhere more private to write, but as soon as she steps outside, Bunbee confronts her and decides to suck everyone into the world of her story.
Darkness imprisoning me, all that I see - wait have I used that joke before?
The next thing they know, theyâre inside Milkâs Cinderella! But they donât bother acting out the story, they see Bunbee holding Milk hostage and he turns the chandelier into a Kowaina, so they transform as well.
The Kowaina is able to use reflected light as laser beams to attack the girls so the team scatters. Dream and Rouge focus on fighting Bunbee to try to rescue Milk, but the kowaina keeps getting in their way, so Lemonade, Mint, and Aqua manage to hold it off while the other two get the jump on Bunbee. They free Milk, and then get upset at collateral damage to the castle being caused by their fight. Bunbee taunts that heâll destroy this world like he destroyed the Palmier Kingdom, but all the girls respond by kicking his ass and the kowainaâs ass and then Dream performs Crystal Shoot to defeat it, and Bunbee flees.
After they detransform, the clock strikes midnight and they realize theyâre still in the story, so they all run to get âhomeâ. On the way down the stairs, Nozomi trips and one of her glass slippers flies off, opening a portal back to Natts House.
Somehow the glass slipper came back with them, and they remember that whoever it fits is supposed to marry the prince. Nozomi and Coco share a glance but before she can put it on, Milk LEAPS into the air and lands inside the shoe, claiming it as a perfect fit. Nozomi starts to chase her, demanding her shoe back, while Karen, Komachi, and Rin pick up the scattered pages of Milkâs manuscript. They take umbrage with her portrayal of them in the story, and the episode closes on Nozomi, Karen, and Rin all chasing her up the stairs.
The Analysis
Itâs certainly a fun episode, a nice uptick from the last few. The spins on Cinderella are clever and funny, and this cast really makes it work. I do find it weird just how self-aware they seem to be in Milkâs story. One time in high school (probably around the time this show aired actually) I did a creative writing assignment which completely shattered the fourth wall, but my jokes were more absurdist than this. The characters act as though theyâre the real Nozomi, Rin, etc who have been transported into the story and know they have to act it out, rather than like theyâre characters within the narrative watching as the events unfold. I donât really understand why it was composed this way, it doesnât make sense from Milkâs perspective to have them be self-aware and make comments on their knowledge of the story, that sort of gag is much more suited for the characters being sucked into the story, which they did in the second half of the episode anyway. Structurally it may have been better to have them absorbed into the story early in the episode, play out the tale of Cinderella until the mid-point, and then Bunbee reveals himself or something and the rest goes as normal.
Regardless of whether the gags make sense in context, though, they are hilarious. The wicked stepmother being played by the nicest girl of the bunch is peak irony, and Rin and Karen the frequent head-butters as the stepsisters makes me laugh, although they didnât really play up their little rivalry. None of them take their roles very seriously, which adds to the comedy. The highlight for me has to be when Urara shows up and transforms Nozomi. She cycles through a couple different outfits before she gets it right:
The most notable ones are Momotaro and Princess Kaguya, who are the subjects of famous Japanese fairy tales.
She also gets turned into a bear, a clown, and even a monster! I enjoy the self-awareness as well. Urara showing up at the ball despite and being called out by the others as the witch, the frequent comments about this all being âhow the story goesâ or what have you. My favorite exchange is when Karen asks whoâs dancing with the Prince and Rin tells her itâs Cinderella, the title character, and Karen responds that she knows but she has to stick to the script. I donât know why but this is peak comedy to me, and my greatest wish is that it be the actual characters who are saying this and not just Milk writing.
The payoff to this, however, is the revelation at the end when Karen, Komachi, and Rin look at Milkâs manuscript and realize exactly how sheâs cast them. Even if Karen and Milk have a good relationship, she doesnât like being exploited in this way, and when Milk remarks that an angry Karen is scarier than an evil sister, she and Rin lose their minds and start to chase her. Komachi, in typical fashion, is upset but not angry. I have said it before but I love the character interactions in this show. They always manage to play off each other wonderfully, and they seamlessly and believably transition between comedy and seriousness.
Curiously, Milk doesnât insert herself into the story for whatever reason. You would expect her to place herself in the role of Cinderella so she could get the handsome prince, but she seems more content to play god with her friends, and especially to make Nozomi suffer.... although the worst thing she actually does is have her trip and break things a lot. Considering she says she wants to be with Coco romantically, she doesnât show it much. She fantasizes about it a little bit when sheâs in his presence but on some level she seems to realize heâs a better match for Nozomi. I think itâs telling that she automatically pairs up Coco with Nozomi and Komachi with Nuts even in her fantasy.
The villain plot of this episode is rather lackluster. Sucking the girls into the world of Cinderella and then destroying it isnât as effective as sucking them into Komachiâs novel, which was an actual dangerous setting that Arachnea enhanced in that instance. It doesnât benefit Bunbee in any way to have them in this setting, and thatâs disappointing. I wish they could have better justified it. It does allow for a pretty good fight, but itâs not any better than battles theyâve fought in the real world. My favorite part is when Cure Rouge mule kicks Bunbee, and then a sequence where everyone gets single or pair attacks in on him where their animation is really warped because itâs going fast.
Itâs not bad, you can only see this if you freeze-frame, but boy is it weird. And thereâs some other animation oddities in this episode. Iâm not sure if Iâve brought up before their habit of drawing a shot from far away that has low detail, and either zooming in on it or starting up close and zooming out, but the point is, when they do this, it really enhances how low-quality the drawing is. And thereâs a shot of Bunbee thatâs drawn this way for some reason. Itâs zoomed in on him as a person, he transforms, and THEN the camera zooms out. I can only assume they originally blocked this shot out as being zoomed out always, because otherwise thereâs no reason that his human model should be as low-res as it is.
Hereâs a fun little bit of continuity I picked up on that relates to Bunbee as well. If you remember way back in episode 14, he used a missile attack that broke Mint Reflection, and they had to team up to deflect it. Well he uses it again here, but this time, Komachi has Mint Shield at her disposal, which we know is stronger, and itâs able to block the missile completely without anyone elseâs assistance.
Additionally, one little oddity I picked up on is, of all things, a reused piece of background music! During the scene where Urara-as-the-witch appears to Nozomi-Cinderella, they cue her in with the track âStrange Occurrenceâ from the FWPC soundtrack. I havenât noticed any other instances of them using backing tracks from outside this seasonâs OST, so this sticks out to me.
I want to say a quick piece about these ball gowns that theyâre all wearing and then Iâll wrap this up.
If you have a keen eye and a good memory, you might remember Nozomiâs dress and Cocoâs suit as being first seen in her brief fantasy in episode 34:
The others are new.... sort of. Chronologically speaking this is their first appearance, but they also show up in the movie which premiered a week after this episodeâs broadcast, and Iâm reasonably certain, because of how long movies take to produce, they were designed for that first and then incorporated back into the show. Reusing costume designs isnât a new phenomenon, I pointed out way back in FWPC that they reused the Romeo and Juliet costumes in the dream episode, I just wanted to point it out.
This was a fun episode with some great gags in it, but while they tried to put an original spin on the concept of placing your characters in another established fictional work, the execution fell short of its potential and keeps the episode from being as good as it could have been.
My next review will be the Yes! Precure 5 movie! I always allow myself to indulge on movies, and this one will be no exception, so in order to make it the best review possible, itâs going to take several days of work to get done. I hope to have it out within a week, and Iâll make progress announcements about it on PCD Status, so please be patient and look forward to that!

Team SLVR, some of my first OCâs kinda ever. I originally planned on doing proper drawings of them but I havenât been back to doing those in a long while now, so I figured Iâd post up their new designs and their finally designed weapons.
Iâm not going to dwell on everything wrong with their original designs/drawings, because dunking on my past selfâs art and design choices is not productive to growth. However I do actively enjoy thinking about character design, and there are a few big changes from the original designs to the new ones worth talking about. But Iâll keep it short.
Iâm gonna put that, and then character details and stuff about their semblances and weapons under the cut.
Their original colour schemes were so messy and all over the place, ignoring the core theme of RWBY character designs; each character has a colour that represents them. Sandâs design has more red and purple in it than pale yellow, Limeâs is completely the wrong green, Violetâs is also the wrong purple, and thereâs way too much of it without proper variation or dispersal throughout the design, and then Rougeâs is the only one with gold instead of Silver, their team colour. Completely ignoring all of the issues with the designs themselves, the colour language is completely off, and for something so integral to the very concept of RWBY OCâs to be so wrong, was my biggest issue with these original designs, when I finally came back to them
Hence, the colour overhaul in the new designs! I gave them all monochromatic eyes and hair, matching their personal colours. Sand has pale yellow eyes and hair, Lime has a bright acidic green, Violet a light purple, and Rouge a bright red, and then these same colours are pulled down throughout their designs, head to toe, and then broken up by a couple shades each of creams through dark greys and black, and finally they all have silver accents. Sand is the leader, and heâs meant to be a lighthearted and approachable character, so he has a bulk of lighter colour on his top half, with his personal colour covering what would otherwise be a large amount of black on his boots. Lime is practical, pragmatic, straightforward; she wears more armour, but also more of her personal colour is on show. Violet is outwardly timid, but also very powerful, her clothes are baggy and her colour seems to box her in and drown her out somewhat. And Rouge is a rogue, heâs sneaky and works in the shadows, so his personal colour takes a backseat to the bulk of black in his outfit.
And now for actually character stuff rather than just design rambling ^_^;;
Team SLVR (Silver) is based on mythical beasts/monsters of legend, and alongside team BDNA (Belladonna), who were based on various famous/archetypal witches, they were intended to be rivals for Team CRSS (Cress), to form a narrative of the fairy tale heroes against witches and monsters; with the obvious caveat of the witches and monsters being people with human feelings and motivations, and ultimately having more in common with each other than against.Â
Sand Martichoras: Sand is based on the Manticore, and his Semblance âVenom Lashâ presents itself as his Aura manifesting a large, spectral scorpion tail from his lower back; Venom Lash can be used to strike with the tail itself in order to poison a foe and drain them of their strength, or Sand can channel itâs power into his attacks, imbuing his dust shells with the same poisoning quality. His weapon, The Scorpion Stinger, is a weighty spear with a wide flat spearhead more appropriate for sweeping attacks than thrusts, and on the opposite end is a shotgun. It can be snapped in half to use both simultaneously, and can then be used like nunchucks or even as a grappling hook with the cable connecting them. Sand is the leader of Team SLVR, heâs confident but lighthearted and easy to talk to. Some would say heâs overconfident, or even vain, but for the most part he gets along with everyone he meets.
Lime Gorgana: Lime is based on the Basilisk, as well as Medusa, and her Semblance âEye of the Gorgonâ presents itself as a pulsating green glow all about her, and her Aura manifesting several hissing snakes all around her head; Eye of the Gorgon is a powerful semblance which Lime struggles to control, it being able to activate without her meaning to when she becomes overly emotional. Eye of the Gorgon petrifies Dust, rendering it inert stone; when it is directed, it can petrify a controlled amount up to quite a great distance away, so long as Lime can see the container the Dust is in or the person carrying it. However it also petrifies Dust immediately around Lime as well, in a very small area while it is being carefully controlled and directed, but in a larger one when she loses control of it; regardless it means she cannot use or even carry any Dust of her own. Her weapon, The Serpentine Fang, is a simple one, owing to itâs inability to use Dust; itâs base form is a lithe, collapsible rapier which pairs elegantly with her arm-mounted shield, then itâs scabbard doubles as either a large, weighty cleaver, or when the rapier is inserted, as a substantial greatsword. To compensate for her inability to use Dust of any kind, Lime has trained her body to be a powerful and adaptive weapon all itâs own, equally skilled in the use of her shield, hand to hand combat, the rapid, flowing motions of combat with her rapier, and the devastating, crushing blows of her greatsword. Lime is the second in command of Team SLVR; her and Sand often disagree about many things, but they also trust each other explicitly. She is very levelheaded, and very pragmatic and practical, some would even call her cold blooded for some of the decisions sheâs made in the heat of combat, but her skill with strategy is unquestionable .
Violet Wolfsbane: Violet is based on the Werewolf, and her Semblance âLunar Frenzyâ manifests as her Aura expanding to project the shape of a spectral, bipedal wolf about her. While her Semblance is active Violet loses control, going into a frenzy, her expanded Aura protects her from a greater range of attacks and it hardens itself against damage, allowing her to fight for much longer than otherwise; it also gives her enhanced speed and strength, allowing her to leap and bound across great distances and rend through strong defences. However it comes at a great toll, draining her strength and expending her Aura, meaning that once it runs out, she collapses, often unable to even remain conscious, making itâs use in actual battle extremely high risk. Her weapons are The Violent Renders, manacle-like wrist bracers with crescent blades on their sides which can rotate and open out into tiered claws for varied uses, such as slashing, stabbing and rending. In their expanded state, the blades can also be detached from the manacles to be swung by cables at distant foes. Violet is timid despite her height, often walking hunched over or standing with all her limbs angled inwards, as if trying to make herself smaller, and she speaks with a soft voice. She is afraid of her Semblance and doesnât like using it, but Sand, Lime and Rouge have helped to bring her somewhat out of her shell and have attempted to instil more confidence in her, especially with regards to her power.
Rouge Entigo: Rouge is based on the Wendigo, as well as the Jackalope, and his Semblance âBlood Hungerâ manifests as his Aura taking on a mottled black and red effect, with spectral antlers atop his head and pitch black eyes. While Rouge is channelling Blood Hunger, he is able to cannibalise his own Aura to exponentially increase his strength, as well as to perform other feats he is not otherwise capable of; By taking large chunks of power from his Aura at a time, Rouge is able to perform short range teleportation (only to a location he can see) or he can cut a similar portion off of another persons Aura; he can also corrupt Dust to significantly weaken itâs effects, or temporarily prevent the activation of someone elseâs semblance. If someone else is willing, they can feed their Aura into Rougeâs, allowing him to devour it to use Blood Hunger more, or for longer. Rougeâs weapon is a shortsword/large dagger called The Happy Rogue, which can expand out into a lightweight hand scythe, or can be split into a pair of thin daggers, which can still then be expanded into a hand scythe/handaxe combo. As well as their obvious offensive capabilities, Rouge often uses The Happy Rogue for climbing, liking to take advantage of terrain for stealth as well as combat. Rouge is a prankster on the surface, but underneath he has quite an aggressive side, and has a penchant for violence. He and Lime were childhood classmates, and learned and trained together long before Team SLVR was formed, and while he doesnât showoff his fighting skills nearly as much as she does, theyâre equally matched when it comes to combat.
As individuals they all possess powerful semblances, versatile weapons and impressive fighting capabilities; together they are a formidable team, they work well together, and close ranks around their personal weaknesses. But they all have weaknesses that the rest of the team canât cover for; Lime canât use her semblance while near the others, or she risks petrifying their Dust, likewise Sandâs Semblance risks Poisoning the others, Violetâs semblance has a short shelf life in combat and if she drops at the wrong time she becomes a big liability, and while Rougeâs has the same problem, he can also take power from the others to extend it, heightening both the risk and the reward. Their strength as a team comes from knowing each others limits, weaknesses, and boundaries, and trying their best to work within and around them.

1. Full Name?
Eloise Grace Dawson
2. Preferred Names or Nicknames?
Ella. Only her parents call her Eloise, and when they do itâs never a good thing.
3. What does their name mean? Does it have any significance in their family? Do they like their name?
The name Eloise means âfamous in war,â in French and âhealthyâ in German. The name Ella means âbeautiful fairy woman,â and âlight.â The name Grace means  âeloquence, beauty, kindness, and mercy.â Although Ella relates to these varying meanings in different ways, from her fierce courage to her romanticized way of viewing the world, she wasnât named for them. Her great-great-great-grandmother was named Eloise, and ever a man dedicated to honoring family and tradition, her father thought it would be a suitable name for his first-born daughter. Funnily enough, Ellaâs ancestor Eloise was also known for being a brash-spitfire. The family has several antique photos of Eloise marching with suffragettes at a rally in 1919, as well as a picture of Eloise at what was presumably a speakeasy sometime in the 1920s, puffing on a cigar with pearls draped around her neck, playing poker at a table surrounded men in white shirts and three-piece suits. Ella likes to think theyâd have gotten along. She also feels a sense of pride in the history surrounding her name.
4. Age and Date of Birth?
Ella is 17 years old and her birthday is December 15.
5. Gender and Pronouns?
Female. She/her.
6. Hometown?
Boston, MA. She was raised in a townhouse in Beacon Hill.
7. Does your character fit into any well known archetypes or tropes?
The Black Sheep
The Lovable RogueÂ
The Storyteller
The Dreamer
8. How long have they been at Broadripple?
Ella became a student at Broadripple during her Sophomore year. She was originally attending a private school in Boston where she lived with her parents, but after being caught sneaking out of the house with a rather unsavory young man ( and after one too many second chances in the eyes of her parents ) Ella was shipped off to Broadripple Academy. She hasnât been able to go home since, spending every weekend, holiday, and break at the Academy that they are able to. In the words of her father, this was to âprevent her from being a bad influence on her little brother.â But Ella suspects itâs a prolonged act of punishment that will never end.
9. What led them to apply to Broadripple? Was it a decision made by them or by their parents/guardians or somewhere in between?
The Dawsonâs are a legacy family, and although they initially intended to keep their family close together, Ellaâs disobedience, rebellion, and reckless behavior pushed them to sending her to Broadripple. They believe the Academy will be able to âstraighten her out,â pushing her into maturity through rigorous course work, high expectations, and the watchful eyes of the nuns.
10. Whether theyâve been at Broadripple four days or four years, do they enjoy it? Do they like Broadripple?
Ella does not enjoy Broadripple. She likes some of the people and classes, but ultimately she feels trapped. Her ability to leave campus is limited, and her parents try to keep her on a tight leash so she canât make any âpoor life choices.â She would probably enjoy the school more if it felt less like a prison.
11. What house are they in? Do they care very much about their house?
Ella is a legacy student in Seton. She doesnât carry much house pride, perhaps in spite of how much her father values their identity as a Seton Family. However, she is very fond of the color blue and has been long before she became a student at Broadripple. This is the extent of her passion for the Seton Legacy.
12. Who do they share a dorm with, or are they on their own for the moment? What are they like to live with? Are they clean or messy? Early risers or night owls?
Ella is roommates with Gwen Prescott, and it is most definitely not a happy pairing. Ella finds Gwenâs incessant need to follow the rules frustrating. Her domineering personality, demand for no boys in the room, and meticulous attention to the cleanliness of the room makes Ella want to spend as little time there as possible. That being said, although Ella isnât anywhere neat as Gwen, she isnât especially messy either. Her desk tends to get messy rather quickly, as it is the place she happens to âdrop offâ everything, including her jackets, homework assignments, in-progress books, and discarded articles of clothing she feels wonât fit her outfit and she hasnât put away yet. Her bedside table is always stacked with books and her bed is made, but not tucked in - she prefers her bed to look comfy and soft rather than sterile and pressed. Ella is an odd combination of both. She finds something about the night invigorating. Because of this she is prone to sneaking out. However, Ella has a hard time relaxing. This makes sleeping in challenging, as she is often compelled to go out and do something with the limited free time she has.Â
13. How is your characterâs dorm decorated? Is it bare or bursting at the seams with personality? Any particular sentimental items from home?
Ellaâs portion of the room is thoroughly decorated. String lights line the walls above her bed all the way along her âhalf.â Polaroid pictures are stuck in the frame of her mirror and taped to the walls. On the wall above her bed, Ella has a full-sized world map speckled with push-pins of places she wants to travel to. Her walls are crowded with quotes from books, poems, and songs she has found meaning in, art prints. The storage space beneath her bed and her bookcase are stuffed with books, most of which are dog-eared, framed by notes scribbled in margins and dashed with highlighters. Under her bed she has a box of CDs - her Just In Case jams. Essentially, a compilation of the music she knows she couldnât live without in the case of a zombie apocalypse or the collapse of the internet.Â
14. What is their favourite subject at school? Do they even have a favourite? Why?
Creative Writing. Ella has been passionate about story-telling and writing ever since she was a little girl. Any time to completely immerse herself in the subject makes her immeasurably happy. She probably gets a little âtoo into it,â in the eyes of her classmates, especially those who took creative writing as the âeasyâ writing course. Sheâs the person who brings a 30-page short story to workshop, much to the chagrin of her peers.
15. Are they involved in any clubs? Which ones?
Ella is involved in Women of Broadripple and Chamber Choir.
16. How does your character feel about Broadrippleâs Unofficial Clubs? Do they know about them? Are they a part of any of them?
Ella doesnât have any strong opinions about Broadripple Unsolved. If anything, she thinks theyâre pretty cool, mostly because she finds the notion of sleuthing around at night for clues or using an ouija board to try and contact a ghost to be thrilling. Ella has a complicated relationship with the Broadripple Boyâs Club, mostly because she loathes bullying and finds the people who participate in it to be, generally, lame as hell. However, she canât deny the undeniable draw she feels to âbad boysâ with inflated egos who smoke cigarettes and have a penchant for getting in trouble. The Unofficial Chastity Club is something Ella rolls her eyes at, mostly because she thinks it perpetuates a stigma around sexuality that she doesnât approve of.
17. Does your character participate in any sports? If so, what made them join the team?
Ella is an avid member of the swim team. Sheâs adored swimming ever since she was a child and participates in the sport out of passion and enjoyment rather than a drive to âbe the best.â That being said, her father expects a lot out of her swimming and is prone to sending her harsh texts if she doesnât âperform wellâ at a meet. This has somewhat tainted her love of the sport. Although she canât deny that one of the places she feels happiest at Broadripple is at the pool in the middle of the night when no one else is there.
18. What afternoon activities does your character do? Do they just do the one mandatory one or are they involved in multiple? Why?
Ella participates in two afternoon activities - drama and the seasonal musical. Sheâs a total drama nerd and enjoys performing on stage. The two activities complement each other, and Ella finds her experiences in both enrich her capabilities in the other. Additionally, she just finds them really fun. Occasionally, she volunteers at the animal shelter.
19. Do they miss their home when theyâre at Broadripple? Do they often go home for the weekends or do they only go home during holiday breaks?
Ellaâs hasnât been home since she was sent to Broadripple. She misses her brother most of all, but her feelings towards her parents are complicated. She misses them and is saddened by the state of their relationship, but she also harbors a deep-set anger for the way they have treated her. Ella typically doesnât go home during the holidays, either filling out special paperwork to stay at Broadripple or staying with a close family friend or relative.
20. Did your character know Izzy De Santis or Maggie Monroe?
She knew of them but didnât know them personally. She finds their disappearance to be suspicious, especially since no one seems to know where theyâve gone. Ella has always had a wild imagination and what might have happened to Izzy and Maggie finds itself consuming more and more of her thoughts.
21. Has your character heard of Edith Lynch? Do they know the story?
Ella heard the story of Edith Lynch when she first came to Broadripple. Sheâd snuck out with a few older boys and theyâd told her the story to try and scare her. Eager for the thrill, Ella demanded more details, which the boys were unable to provide. This led her to doing some thorough research at the Academyâs alumni and records section of the library. In short, she knows the ghost stories, the lore and the Academyâs sanitzied record of events, but she often finds herself questioning the truth.
22. How does your character feel about Nighmore? Have they noticed the recently closed shops yet?
Ella is grateful Nighmore exists because it gives her a brief respite from the campus, but ultimately its locations and activities are lacking. Sheâs taken note of the closed shops and is most impacted by the Kettle closing down. Ella adored their baked goods and found she often got a lot of good writing done there. Plus, it always offered a place for her to hide out when Gwen was in one of her moods.
23. Have you made any aesthetic Pinterest boards/WeHeartIt collections for this character? Or playlists? Anything you would like to share!

You Are My Cup Of Tea (Chip) 12Ⳡx 12ⳠMetallic Acrylic on Canvas To purchase Artwork, please visit BSSart.com/ordering LINK Chip, the teacup from Disneys Beauty and the Beast was used for this version of the Teacup series. Most of the image is metallic, reflective paint, but there is alot of matte colors to offset as well. All black is flat to define the image at all angles.
Chip Potts is a supporting character who was featured in Disney's 1991 animated film, Beauty and the Beast. He is the son of Mrs. Potts. As a human, Chip is a young boy who works with his mother in the castle kitchens. Like the other inhabitants of the castle, Chip was cursed by the Enchantress. When his mother was turned into a teapot, Chip was likewise turned into a teacup. At the end of the film, once Belle and the Beast fell in love, Chip was magically restored to his human form
Chip is adventurous and constantly curious about the world around him. Chip is a cheerful and active young boy and (like his mother and friends) is shown to have a great fear of the Beast's temper. He is also shown to be very brave and heroic shown in the first film, where he saved Belle and her father Maurice in order for them to rescue Beast from Gaston and the angry mob. He loves Belle very much and views her as his big sister and best friend. As is typical of curious boys his age, he apparently has an overactive imagination; when he comes rushing in to inform his mother that there is a girl (Belle) in the castle, she scolds him for making up such tall tales. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); 15 facts about Beauty and the Beast
1. WALT DISNEY CONSIDERED REMAKING THE FAIRY TALE AS FAR BACK AS THE 1930S.Walt Disney liked to take his time mulling things over, and while he was pondering Beauty and the Beast, a live-action version of the movie was released by French filmmaker Jean Cocteau. Perhaps not wanting to release an animated version of a movie that had just been released, Disney tabled the idea
.2. A NON-MUSICAL VERSION WAS COMMISSIONED IN THE LATEÂ
1980S.In the late '80s, Disney hired British animator Roger Purdum to direct a non-musical version of Beauty and the Beast, with Linda Woolverton writing the script. But the company wasn't happy with the result of 10 weeks of storyboarding (which you can see here)âthe story was too dark and depressing."In the middle of our process, The Little Mermaid premiered, and that changed everything," Woolverton told the Los Angeles Times. "[T]he concept of the musical, the Broadway musical brought to animation by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken. So I was flown to Disney in Florida to meet with Howard. Howard and I just clicked. ... In a hotel room in Fishkill, New York, Howard and I pretty much conjured up this version of Beauty and the Beast. Howard and I never clashed. I was his student. He taught me everything I know about musicals."
3. JACKIE CHAN CONTRIBUTED TO AN INTERNATIONAL VERSION.Jackie Chan dubbed the Beastâs voice for the Chinese translation of the movieâincluding the singing. Here he is performing the title track in Mandarin with Sarah Chen:
4. "HUMAN AGAIN" WAS CUT FROM THE ORIGINAL MOVIE.
The song âHuman Againâ was cut from the original movie, in part because it added 11 minutes to the film, and partially because it created a problem with the passage of time. "[W]e kept asking, 'Well what? Is Maurice wondering around in the woods all this time? Is Gaston just sitting around in a tavern drinking beer after beer growing a long white beard?,'" co-director Kirk Wise said. "We couldn't quite figure out what to do with the other characters during this time that Belle's at the castle and keep the motor of the story running." In recent years, the whole sequence has been included on DVD and Blu-ray extras. In case you donât have either of those sitting around your house, check out part of it here:
5. THREE OF ITS TUNES EARNED "BEST ORIGINAL SONG" OSCAR NOMINATIONS.
Many people remember that the title song from Beauty and the Beast took home the âBest Original Songâ Oscar in 1992, but it was just one of three songs nominated from the movie. But âBelle,â the opening song, and âBe Our Guestâ were also up for an Oscar. Must have been rough to be the writers of the other two songs in that category: âWhen Youâre Aloneâ from Hook and â(Everything I Do) I Do It For Youâ from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
.6. THE CO-DIRECTOR STARTED HIS CAREER DRAWING CARICATURES.
Co-director Kirk Wise started his career drawing caricatures for touristsâbut not Disney tourists. While attending art school, Wise made extra money by working at Universal Studios
.7. THE BEAST IS A MASH-UP OF VARIOUS ANIMALS.
Heâs got the mane of a lion, the beard and head of a buffalo, the brow of a gorilla, the eyes of a human, the tusks of a wild boar, the body of a bear, and the legs and tail of a wolf ... and a little something extra. Animator Glen Keane claims that âBeast actually has a rainbow bum, but nobody knows that but Belle.â
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
8. ONE ANIMATOR WISHED THAT THE BEAST STAYED A BEAST.
Keane wished that the Beast had stayed a Beast instead of transforming into his princely human form. To help bridge the gap, he penned a funny line for Belle to say at the end: âI had them record Belle saying, âDo you think you could grow a beard?â It was a good idea. Itâs not in the movie. We should have put it in there.â
9. ANGELA LANSBURY SAID THE DEMO MUSIC WAS A LITTLE TOO ROCK 'N' ROLL.
When Angela Lansbury heard the demo of "Beauty and the Beast," it was "kind of a rock song," she told The Huffington Post. "I told them, 'This is a sweet message, but this really isn't my style. Are you sure you want me to do this?' They told me to sing the song the way I envisioned it, so that's what I did. I created it the way a little English teapot would sing the song." Producer Don Hahn said that Lansbury "went into the booth and sang 'Beauty and the Beast' from beginning to end and just nailed it. We picked up a couple of lines here and there, but essentially that one take is what we used for the movie."
10. THERE'S A SLY REFERENCE TO DISNEYLAND
.You have to squint to see it, but when Maurice gets lost in the woods toward the beginning of the movie, one of the road signs he finds points the way toward Anaheimâwhich is home to Disneyland.Walt Disney Studio
s11. THE POSTER WAS DESIGNED BY A MASTER OF THE ART.
John Alvin, the artist who created Beauty and the Beast's iconic movie poster, also designed the posters for some other films you might be familiar with, including E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, Gremlins, The Lion King, The Color Purple, and Blazing Saddles.
12. BELLE MADE A CAMEO IN THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME.
Fittingly, she has her nose in a book. You can also see brief appearances by Pumbaa from The Lion King and Magic Carpet from Aladdin. Itâs hard to spot Pumbaaâand tragic, as he appears to have been slaughteredâbut both directors have confirmed all three cameos.
13. BELLE ISNâT THE ONLY BEAUTY AND THE BEAST CHARACTER THAT POPS UP IN OTHER MOVIES.The Beast can momentarily be seen in Aladdin as one of the animal stacking toys the Sultan plays with
.14. THERE'S A NON-MUSICAL VERSION.
An earlier version of the movie contained no music. It also gave Belle a little sister named Clarice and a cat named Charley.
15. AUDIENCES WERE SUPPOSED TO SEE THE SEQUENCE WHERE THE YOUNG PRINCE IS TURNED INTO THE BEAST.
The sorceress would chase the prince through the castle hurling magic at him, hitting servants and accidentally turning them into objects instead. Eventually, she hits her target and turns him into an animalistic creature. She leaves, and we see the young Beast looking out from the castle windows, screaming for her to come back and fix him. Wise nixed the sequence. He later said, âThe only thing that I could see in my head was this Eddie Munster kid in a Little Lord Fauntleroy outfit.â

Sugar Plum - N.R
Summary:Â Sheâs off chasing dreams and youâre along for the ride, in whatever way she may need. (Modern AU!Reader/Natasha Romanov)
A/N: this is for @blackwidownatalia for @itsbuckysworld secret santa challenge. this is also my first time writing for nat, so hopefully it isnât a complete mess? thanks to @isavuu for helping me with the brainstorming <3
Masterlist
Feedback is always welcomed.
âIâm going to try out for the ballet studio down the street,â she tells you one night after you get home. Her voice is soft but determined as you nod from across your small kitchen table.
Natasha never spoke to you, in all the years you had known each other, about her younger years as a ballerina. Steve often mentioned it -how great she was as a teenager- here and there, but if Nat didnât bring up you didnât talk it, but since you started living together you had caught her once or twice looking at the ballet studio with some type of longing. However, you didnât think she would go this far.
âWhat play,â you question, not knowing the exact term,âOr musical is it?â
âThe Nutcracker,â Nat gives you a small smile as you cross the table top and give her light peck on the cheek.
âI know youâll do great,â you grin, giving her all the confidence that you can for the both of you as she nods.
Natasha comes back to you after two weeks of training and practicing for the role she was aiming for. You arenât used to not seeing her for an extended period of time, but once she is dedicated to something  -- she pushes through with it the whole way with all the crazy stubbornness and determination she seems to have.
You miss her terribly, but to have her smiling with a small card declaring her role in the December event you canât help, but get caught up in the excitement of it all.
Natasha Romanoff -- Sugar Plum Fairy
âAh man,â you starts with laugh as green eyes look at you waiting for your response, âIâm gonna know the most kickass fairy.â
Natasha smiles at your comment and thatâs when she knows everything is alright between the two of you. Itâs also the same night when you start looking up everything you can about The Nutcracker.
You end up watching the old PBS specials first because those are the easiest for you to find, as you soon realize that Natashaâs character doesnât come out until the second act of the play. You try your hardest to make it through the first half time and time again. However, you soon realize that the more updated San Francisco Ballet is easier to watch than the black and white ones they used to show, and itâs one nights when Natasha is working late at the office, thatâs you finally make into the second act.
You watch the Sugar Plum Fairy dance her dance with her cavalier and you canât help but wonder how beautiful Nat might look all dressed and swirling about.
Over the next few days, you find yourself humming a familiar tune and if Nat finds some of your designs of a certain fairy with red hair she certainly doesnât say anything about it. Â
Autumn is in the air when Nat starts coming home a bit more annoyed and with aching feet, as she mumbles about her cavalier -- some guy from Brooklyn that has some productions under his belt with the company that thinks heâs just a bit too charming. You rush from your drawing room with a bucket of warm water, as she gives you a commiserating smile. She keeps talking, as a sudden idea comes into your head about this mysterious manâs attitude.
âMaybe, heâs just trying to get your attention,â you laugh as Nat groans in annoyance, as you are sure she knows what you are getting at, âYou know what they say about boys.â
âYeah, and Iâm not into that,â Nat lets out a laugh before giving you a light peck on the cheek. You spend the rest of the night on the couch, listening to everything she has to say about the production so far as you canât help but love the smile on her face. Â Â
Itâs near mid-November when it happens just like always, though Nat decides to work through her illness rather than take a break until she almost passes out during one of the last reherals. You end up leaving your advertising meeting early and heading to the little studio with food and medication. Old blue eyes is there watching over her when you finally get there, as Nat groans in annoyance at the sight of you.
âDidnât I tell you to take it easy,â you murmur softly as you feel her forehead softly with the back of your hand. She says something, more likely than anything a curse, in Russian because she knows you are right. However, you are not here to reprimand her, as you tell the tall, broad man if he can get you a cool towel.
âIs that your cavalier?â you question, trying to move here away from thinking about her flu and not being able to perform for a couple of days with a silly question, as green eyes flutter in annoyance that you barely catch. She was always good at hiding it -- it was just that her being sick made it easier to do so.
âNo,â she answers back with a hoarse voice, âYou are.â
You pause for a moment and look at her, but sheâs already asleep. You let out a nervous laugh as the man comes back and you thank him. You stay by Natâs side until she wakes up and you make her eat, and even though she wants to get back into practicing the director --an older man named Fury-- Â tells the two of you to to go home for the rest of the week. Â
Nat recovers in said week and pushes through the end of November and the beginning of December with unbridled determination that you barely see her at all, though you are there through messages to remind her to take it easy and drink plenty of water. You even got Buckyâs --her cavalier in the show-- to keep an eye on her, just in case.
Itâs December 10th when it finally happens -- opening night.
This time you do make it through the opening act, front and center, without falling asleep and thatâs when you get your breath taken away. Natasha as the Sugar Plum Fairy, and you canât take your eyes off her of her for the rest of the night as you even hum with the dance. The act ends too quickly in your opinion as you find yourself clapping with the rest of the audience, as green eyes meet yours in the crowd as you give her a thumbs up.
It isnât until little later, when everyone stops congratulating her and she pushes you into her little dressing room that you are able to gush about how much you loved the whole thing, as Nat just laughs and shakes her head as she prepares to take off her outfit. Â Â
âWhat did I tell you,â you canât help but grin at the sight of her in her glittering outfit as she gives you a weary but excited smile, something you had never seen before, âMost kick ass sugar fairy Iâve ever seen.â
âIâm the only sugar fairy youâve seen,â she remarks looking at you through the mirror, as you give her a soft smile.
âAnd I wouldnât have any other way,â you admit with all the love you have for her as she shakes her head.
Because she wouldnât have anybody else, but you standing by her side when the curtain falls.

Character Spotlight: The Fairy
No more goofing around, today is serious business! Sunday I talked in more detail about Nahimaâs character so it would only be right to finally address her counterpart and the second romance option of the game: the Fairy. Minor spoilers ahead: the theme of the Fairyâs route is revealed. Â
Donkeyskin being a fairly traditional tale, of course, I wouldnât have missed the opportunity to create Kionnaâs fairy godmother! Usually though, this type of character is used purely for convenience: fairy godmothers never have lives of their own to tend to, theyâre always available for their protĂ©gĂ©e, their magic is unlimited and has no consequences or side effects whatsoever. And it has always bothered me. I didnât want to take the easy way, I wanted Chronotopiaâs magic to work in a similar fashion as what you can see in Madoka Magica: not only does using magic come with a price but it can also backfire like a devastating butterfly effect. Even if the price itself is more inspired by Mai Hime where all the female charactersâ powers come from their love.
The Fairy's in-game sprite, by Anako. She only has one outfit but what a presence!
Based on that concept, the Fairy had to reflect the ambiguity of her powers, being both an ally to the heroine and a disturbing character youâre not sure you can trust. Thatâs when I stumbled across one of Anakoâs drawings and fell in love with it because I already knew that I wanted something similar for the design: a âwitch-likeâ feeling.
The Fairy's concept art, by Anako. We rather quickly decided on this design.
Just like I had explained in the previous character spotlight, the godmother in Perraultâs tale is almost scatterbrained as she easily let the king foil her strategy (Iâm pretty sure she was just improvising all along). So I tried to create a creature you could take seriously, a being fit to handle those otherwordly powers! And one way to do that was simply to draw out the wait before making the fairy appear for the first time, making her more mysterious and unapproachable than in the original. It also reinforced the fact that she has her own agenda: she accepts to help Kionna but makes it abundantly clear that she would rather be done quickly to do something else. She may be your godmother but youâd better not make her wait for too long!
Another great CG by @jubberry and @adirosa. Don't you ever annoy the Fairy~
And since sheâs meant as a contrast to Nahima, the Fairy represents the future, novelty, the unknown. She keeps pushing Kionna forward and making her question the world around her and her own desires. Besides, thereâs something intoxicating in seeing her perform magic and handling that incredible knowledge. Who wouldnât want to learn more in Kionnaâs place? Thereâs just one little detail: since sheâs not human, the Fairy also embodies danger. She could crush you in the blink of an eye should you decide to piss her off (probably not a good idea). And itâs hard to know how much you can actually trust her. Is she really on your side? Or is she up to no good? Â
If choosing Nahima is the easy and expected outcome, choosing the Fairy is equivalent to a leap into the unknown. Are you willing to dispose of your own humanity just to get a glimpse of her world? If you are, thereâs no coming back!

Would you be willing to write MC having two young children from a previous relationship (the father is no longer in the picture) with RFA and the Minor Trio?
This is a warning to all of you, if you ever request something including the RFA and friends with children, Iâm going to make it long! Iâm s sucker for parenting headcanons so I really loved this request! So I hope that you enjoy and thank you for the request!! ^^
Yoosung
Yoosung was stunned when you introduced your little son and daughter to him
He knew that you had a relationship in the past that you didnât like talking about, which he understood, but you failed to tell him about your two tiny kids
Any fears that Yoosung had when it came to bonding with your children faded
Yoosung turned out to be an amazing father figure for your children
He would help your son with his school work, your son said that Yoosung was the best teacher which made Yoosungâs heart melt, and would reward him with loads of encouragement and even teaching your son how to play video games
When it came to your daughter, Yoosung would teach her about all kinds of animals and would always be there to hold her in his arms when she was sad
The four of you went of lots of little bit fun family outings, the best one being when you all went to the zoo and Yoosung showed off his animal knowledge to your kids, who were amazed at his skills but you rolled your eyes
Even though they werenât related to him biologically, Yoosung adored your children and promised that he would always treat them as his own kids since he truly did love the three of you
Zen
Zen had mixed feelings of surprise and sympathy when he first met your little son and daughter
He was completely unaware of your children but felt a sense of sadness since the two little ones didnât have a father
So Zen made it his personal mission to be as best of a father figure as he could be
And he truly did become the best father to your two children who simply adored him
Zen would teach your daughter all about dancing and fashion, he would totally be a model for her when she wanted to put an outfit together, he also taught her the importance of being modest when with others
He taught your son how to be a proper gentleman, scolding him when Zenâs own narcissism started rubbing off to your little boy, but Zen also taught your son how to sing, especially when he was feeling sad
Your children loved going to see Zen perform on stage, the three of you would always sit in the front row, your son and daughter would clap extra loudly when he performed
After the show, Zen would have your son and daughter go up onto the stage and dance with them, you were in charge of taking videos and photos so that Zen could always cherish those moments
Zen had a newfound love for your children as well as being a father, he would make sure that he would always make his queen, prince, and princess happy
Jaehee
Jaehee felt a bit uneasy when she saw that you had a little son and daughter from your precious relationship
She was worried about how your kids would react to you dating another woman
But it turned out that her fears were for nothing because she became an amazing mother
Jaehee would teach your son the importance of hard work by making him do some simple chores around the house, she would often pitch in and help him since he did work hard, and reward him with fresh baked treats
She would show your daughter some self-defense judo moves to use on anyone who made her feel uncomfortable, your daughter once said that Jaehee was her role model and this woman cried on the spot
The four of you always bake homemade treats on the weekends for working hard during the week with school for the kids and work for you and Jaehee
Your son and daughter would happily stir the ingredients while you and Jaehee helped make sure that they didnât make a mess everywhere
Jaehee felt truly happy to be a mother figure for your son and daughter, she always tried being the best mother that she could
Jumin
Jumin kept a cool and calm exterior when you first introduced him to your little son and daughter
But on the inside, Jumin felt anxious since he wasnât the best around children and he truly wanted to make a good impression on them
Turns out that Jumin would become an excellent father figure for your kids
He loved teaching your son about business skills but in a fun way, such as using toys or drawings, while your son loved visiting Jumin in his office, he would always greet Jumin with a huge hug
Your daughter was obsessed with Elizabeth the third so Jumin taught her how to properly care for and treat his beloved cat, he felt his heart swell with adoration when your daughter would take naps and have Elizabeth the third cuddled up next to her
The four of you went on tons of family trips together, some more simple while some were extravagant
Your son and daughter loved visiting the beach with you and Jumin, your son and Jumin would always challenge you and your daughter to a sand castle making contest
They loved it when the four of you would make a campfire and roast s'mores over the fire, your son and daughter usually ended up falling asleep in Juminâs arms
Jumin never would have thought that he would be a good father figure but the love he received from you along with your children made him become the best father out there
Seven
Seven is actually really excited when you first introduce him to your little son and daughter
Heâs been wanting to start a family with you ever since the two of you started dating so this makes things quicker!
Basically, Seven is like your third child although you admit heâs amazing when it comes to your kids
He loves teaching your son about outer space and decorated his room with stars everywhere, when your son gets his homework completed Seven will take your son into his arms and make him feel like heâs flying in the air, you can always hear both of them giggling
Seven notices your daughterâs interest in his robots so he shows her how to make some simply ones, your daughter also is a Honey Buddha Chip addict thanks to Seven and he usually has to pry his precious Chips away from her but will give her some when sheâs been good
The four of you have story nights on the weekends, you noticed your children have become much more imaginative thanks to Seven
Seven loves reading fairy tale books to your kids before they go to sleep and you better believe that this man acts out all of the parts in a variety of voices
Your kids absolutely adore Seven, making him thank you with tears in his eyes as he has finally found true happiness in his life
V
V would be very nonchalant when he first met your little son and daughter
Even though it isnât his fault, he feels sad for your children since they no longer have a father to look up to
So thatâs when V steps in and basically becomes the best dad ever
V saw that your son gravitated more towards art so he taught him how to paint and take photos, V cried when your son gave him a handmade messy but sweet painting of the four of you for Vâs birthday
Your daughter adored plants so V taught her all about cacti as well as other plants, the two of them have a flower bed in the yard where they will spend hours planting and admiring the flowers
The four of you love being outdoors and surrounded by nature so family time is typically outside
V loves watching your children explore the outdoor world and will take plenty of photos to document their experiences
Wanting to see more of you and your children, V finally get the eye surgery and cries for hours when he finally sees his family clearly for the first time
V doesnât mind that he isnât related biologically to your children, he loves and cherishes you and your children as if they were his own because he feels nothing but love for the three of you
Unknown
Saeran was terrified when you first told him that you had a little son and daughter
This boy was not ready for kids, he was scared that he would become like his mother and scar your children
But with time, Saeran became an amazing father for your kids
He once yelled at your son for accidentally breaking a picture frame but seeing the look of fear in your sonâs eyes made him realize that he was being a terrible parent so Saeran made a sincere apology to your son and took a new photo with your son to put in his room as a reminder of how much he loves him
Saeran noticed that your daughter had a sweet tooth so one day he offered to share some ice cream with her, although she was scared of making him upset at first, but the two eventually became friendly with each other and now half of the groceries you get are ice cream tubs
The four of you go to simple places for family time such as the park or the ice cream parlor since Saeran still isnât completely comfortable with crowds
His favorite thing to do is have the four of you lay out in the backyard and stargaze while listening to your kids talk as they curl up next to him
Your kids have grown so attached to Saeran that youâll find your son and daughter in bed with you two in the morning, theyâll say sleeping with Saeran always makes them happy
Saeran still doesnât think that heâll ever be a good father for your children but he promises to always try his best and will always make them feel loved
Vanderwood
Vanderwood was fairly calm when he first met your little son and daughter
He wanted to track down and use his taser on the father of your children for leaving you alone but you reassured him that he didnât have to
So Vanderwood decided instead to be a good father for your children
He taught your son how to deal with idiots by taking him to see how Vanderwood dealt with Seven, your son watched eagerly as Vanderwood threatened to use his taser on Seven multiple times and even showed your son a little bit of hacking
Vanderwood wanted to make sure no one would ever touch your daughter so he taught her self-defense skills, he even took her over to visit Seven so that she could practice her skills on him
The four of you tried to spend as much family time together as possible since Vanderwood was usually out on missions
He would always come back from his jobs with souvenirs for your son and daughter and tell them all about his trip, although he usually left out the killing parts
Youâve never seen him smile as much as he does whenever heâs with your kids, it always makes your heart soar
Vanderwood may not be the best father around but you wouldnât want anyone else raising your kids with you

Son PD in the House | Solo
Son Seungwan - Nova Entertainment January 2018 Evaluation - Creative Direction Concepts Pitched: Girls: FM - Crayon Pop, Freeze - Momoland, Good Night - Dreamcatcher, Closer - Oh My Girl, Boys: MAMA - EXO, Error - VIXX, Overcome - NUâEST, Bounce - Boyfriend
Wendyâs not going to lie. Sheâs had some interest in taking part in some artistic direction ever since one of her coaches jokingly told her that itâs a skill that will bring her one step closer to being a future entertainment company CEO. Now that she has the chance to learn a new skill, Wendy is going to take it. She may have gotten into Nova for her singing skills, but she has improved her composing and producing skills as well. She likes to think sheâs one of Novaâs more creatively inclined trainees, so she might as well challenge herself and make that leap.Â
The lecture discusses how several factors come into play when trying to come up with a concept to promote artists with. It has to be one that fits the theme and mood of the song, as well as the image the company wishes to push onto the artists. One must also consider styling, makeup, choreography, the narrative (if there is any), and of course, the budget they have. However, she has also been told that having connections helps as well despite the lack of funds. Â
The instructor then challenges them all to come up with ideas their future groups can possibly promote with. Wendy frowns at the notebook in front of her, contemplating the possible ideas the Nova Girls can debut with.Â
From what she knows of the rest of her unnies at Nova, they would all rather die than do a cutesy school-girl concept. Besides, theyâre all too old to wear school uniforms. The only ones who can probably pass as high schoolers are Chaeyoung, Meiqi, and herself. She immediately throws that idea out the window. However, somewhat cute concepts are still public-friendly, so Wendy has to think of something cute without being cringe-worthy. She glances over to a moon-shaped clock when it hits her.
OF COURSE.Â
She laughs as she remembers the running joke about them being a bunch of Sailor Scouts out to protect CEO Hyun Bin from evil. She scribbles a few ideas, such as each girl having an assigned Sailor Scout and superpower, or at least a corresponding color. Later at home, she comes up with makeup swatches for each of the girls. Since they refuse to come across as too childish, Wendy also suggests that their outfits arenât the short sailor scout uniforms but sleek jumpsuits.Â
The instructor sees her notes during the next meeting. âYouâll have to make a few adjustments,â she says. âThe outfits and makeup youâre thinking of are too chic and mature for the sailor scout theme. You will all look pretty, but it throws away the innocence of youth associated with watching Sailor Moon.âÂ
Wendyâs hopes drop a little bit. So much for her first venture. But this is part of the learning process. âI wanted to try something that was age appropriate for both us and was public-friendly,â she admits.Â
âI heard rumors that the young women of Nova would all rather commit some version of seppuku than act cute. I guess theyâre true,â the instructor chuckles at Wendy. âHowever, itâs what the public likes. Now you as an artistic director and artist, have a challenge to satisfy that demand while making sure your group members donât stage a riot.âÂ
Wendy sighs. Itâs back to the drawing board.Â
She stares at the notebook for the rest of the night, trying to think of how she can satisfy what the instructor wants while making sure itâs something the rest of the girls will enjoy doing. ... what if she matches the concept with a song? After all, most concepts are part of the story the single theyâre promoting is trying to tell. But what kind of song will fit a sailor scout concept?Â
She flips to a channel on TV, watching a Japanese kidsâ show in attempt to improve her Japanese. The childish voices and squeals blast against her ears, reminding her of cutesy magical girls and Power Rangers... However, those Power Rangers were also hilarious. As a young adult, she finds herself drawn to the plot despite being a kidsâ show...Â
HOLY SHIT.Â
Wendy looks at her initial proposal, then at the TV screen. She switches out the fancy jumpsuits in favor of Power-Rangers-inspired outfits and boots. The glamorous makeup is abandoned in favor of natural looks. Â
When she presents the revisions to the instructor the next day, all she receives in a loud bark of laughter in terms of feedback. âThis is a lot more fun than the first one. Itâs still not perfect, but this one will give your group a unique flavor if you go with this.âÂ
âIâd like to see what else you can come up with by the end of the month.â
After submitting their initial assignments, the instructor then challenges them to come up with other concepts to present by the end of the month. They are given random, lyric-less, 30-second tracks to think of concepts for. âYou will demonstrate what youâve learned by presenting four different boy group and girl group concepts. You may include your first assignment in your final presentation. Make sure they are as different from each other as possible.â
Itâs D-Day and itâs finally Wendyâs turn to present. This is just like being back in one of her advertising management classes. She has to present the concepts she has come up with. The first track she gets is one that reminds her of those video games Chanshik had tried teaching her to play but she never truly mastered. Â
âThis magical girl and Power Rangers infused concept works well with the first demo track I was assigned,â she explains. She gestures to her slide, which had photos that she spent hours of Photoshop on. She would have very much liked to ask Seulgi to draw for her, but eight concepts when Seulgi had her own evaluations to think of. Sheâs NOT going to subject her best friend to this. âThe track itself is a fun, quirky sound, with hints of throwback, which is why I decided to assign a magical girl meets Power Rangers theme. It has super powers, fight scenes, and I imagine this to be one that has dancing. It will allow the artists to be cute and fun-loving without coming across as childish, but it will also fit a younger age group without making them seem too mature either. This concept is a free-for-all one.âÂ
She then justifies her choice of a marionette and carnival theme for the second track easily. âItâs still fun, but it lacks the quirkiness of character the previous track has,â she adds. âThe opening notes were too similar to what I heard at carnivals or circuses I attended and watched back in Canada. The marionettes concept is because Nova trains us to have good control of our limbs, and it might come out well in the choreography.â One instructor asks about her opinion for a lead character in the music video. âI think it would be nice to have either an established Nova sunbae or one of our popular male trainees with acting skills to make an appearance to support us.â When asked for suggestions, Wendy smiles. She also thought of this one. âMYNAME Chaejin sunbaenim, if not he, then Seyong sunbaenim.â She had to think strategically, which member was most likely to draw in music video views? As far as she knows MYNAME Chaejin and Seyong sunbaenim are the members best recognized for their acting even if Wendyâs heart says Insoo sunbaenim is the best and just needs to be given real acting jobs to prove himself.Â
The third track she was assigned is a mellow, bordering on eerily calm. âIâm thinking of grown-up fairy tales for this one,â she says. âAfter all, most of these original fairy tales werenât written for children, but for adults.â The track itself is almost dream-like and nostalgic, wishing for days that have been long gone. She explains this much. âItâs feminine and delicate. It is age-appropriate for younger performers and it is classy enough for the older performers. The stories Iâm thinking of incorporating include Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, maybe a little bit of Greek mythology. Perhaps one girl to be the lead, while the rest are supporting characters." She then moves on to the slide that explains the concept of time. âIâm thinking that the narrative is about the passage of time, and the symbolism to go with the video can reflect it such as trees, clocks, and other things. The fairy tale element gives it a nostalgic, but still feminine feel. More than anything, I think this concept can be a reflective one... The nostalgia for lost youth...â When questioned why not use an actress to portray the character, Wendy simply smiles and has an answer she hopes is good enough. âOur membersâ ages are fairly diverse. Thereâs a clear distinction and age gap between the eldest and the youngest. Itâs not like weâre all the same age, I should think. Some of us have already lost the innocence of our youth some way, somehow...â Most of them, especially the unnies, have experienced hardships both in and out of Nova that have taught them to grow up faster than was expected. However, some of them also live pretty sheltered lives, thus preserving some of their youthful innocence. There will be a point that they will all wish for that youth again. âI think this is a concept that can speak to older fans, without alienating the younger fanbase.â      Â
She tries not to look at the panel of coaches when she prepares for her last track and concept combination. The rock-based track with electric guitar and drums is without a doubt the most fun Wendy had when coming up with concepts. Pop-rock is one of her favorite genres, so itâs not surprising she'd want this song for a future album. Concept-wise, she has a feeling that this might be the one the rest of the girls will also favor. âFor this one, I went with a Gothic, Victorian horror-movie story,â she says. âI see the performers wearing black lace dresses and dark, almost vampy makeup. We can also go with the doll-like innocent look, which is a stark contrast to the story.â She puts up the next slide. âFor this one, the story is about a group of spirits toying and messing with the head of a trapped human,â she narrates. âEerie concepts are usually the soft type, yes? In this case, Iâm thinking that the electric guitars and drums show how women are still powerful despite being trapped in unfavorable circumstances.â
Her boy concepts are up next. She presents a supernatural theme for the track that reminds her of that film The Priest. Itâs violin heavy and sounds rather grand, so Wendy suggests assigning each Nova Boy to a superpower and that those powers can carry over to future concepts. There is heavy emphasis on them needing to wear cloaks that could make the dementors in Harry Potter jealous.Â
Wendy is also aware of the running joke that outsiders think Nova trainees and artists are robots, which is why she pitches a robot concept. Particularly a dramatic concept that involves a scientist, his lover, and cyborgs. Wendy had two versions, a public-friendly, heterosexual love line and a yaoi love line. âI was thinking that itâs time we start acknowledging that LGBTQA+ people exist in society,â she admits when questioned by the panel for her choices. âItâs not for shock value, but this is to send a message that love is love, regardless of preference.â   Â
She also pitches a concept for wandering knights who go on a quest for their queen, and a darker version of Alice in Wonderland for her final two concepts. Â
âYou went the fictional route for the boy concepts,â one mentor said. âMost of these can spawn... fan-created material. Is this your goal? After all, we are aware that fans seem to write and draw the male members they see as a couple...âÂ
Wendy refrains from chuckling at her panelist. Itâs also not a secret that sheâs read real-person fanfiction. After all, it has become a part of fandom culture. However embarrassing it is to read about yourself in fictional scenarios and hypothetical relationships with your members, as idols, they also perhaps have to give the fans what they want once in a while. Wendy remembers how some of the best fanfiction sheâs read were inspired by concepts the artists were promoting with. Sheâd love to have played a part in fueling the fansâ imagination and honing their own talents in art, writing, and any other medium fans unleash their creativity.Â
âI personally see fan-created content as their way of expressing how much they love and admire their idols,â she admits. âTo be able to come up with a concept that fuels their creativity to write beautifully worded, moving novels or to home their drawing skills would be an honor as a creative director.âÂ
