hey i just sent the last ask! maybe it's my adderall making me overthink but i feel the need to add a bit more seeing how it's a lot of love letters lately. i technically live in Appalachia now, on the edge but also very close to a more prominently appalachian area. for all of the luck i had growing up i do feel a little pang of want when i read about the south and Appalachia. its such a beautiful area and I've had the privilege of hiking through her mountains and appreciating the wilderness. i really wish my area wasn't the way it was. so many people moving here in big ugly manufactured houses and so much ugly construction it makes my heart ache. i drive through these roads overrun with traffic and dead trees but can see the blue ridge mountains on the horizon, almost like she's reminding me that she's still there and will always be there. there's a nice historic town a bit more north that's intertwined with the mountains but to get there you drive past a sonic, mcdonalds, pizza hut, etc. all these corporations sitting atop this beautiful scenery who are run by people who have no appreciation for how beautiful and culturally rich this area is. sorry this is less a love letter and more ranting but i guess what im trying to say is that i really love Appalachia and everything she is and i hate to see her covered up so carelessly. thankfully there are parks and hiking trails that are kept clean, but it doesn't feel like its enough. i think a part of the reason why i love this blog even though i cant relate is because i get to see people talk about this beautiful area that i get to live in. and while it may not be my childhood or culture, it's one i get to read about and appreciate and love through everybody else who was raised by these mountains. sorry for such a long, rambling ask but idk. this blog is beautiful and you're doing such a great service by running it and giving people the space to talk about their home, even if they don't live there anymore. it's amazing and beautiful and i cannot put into words how much i appreciate and respect it. next time i go to one of the folk fairs that's held in that little historical town ill think of you and everybody else who has loved and lived here.

Tang Bo watches as the sun falls behind the horizon, the warm colors of the sky cooling as night settles once again. The wind brushes against his hair and it comes to Tang Bo as easy as breathing to ignore the loneliness and loss that have carved out permanent spaces for themselves in his heart.

The Plum Blossom Sword Saint's funeral felt ill-fitting for a man whose sacrifice ended the increasing threat of the Demonic Cult. The affair was somber, attended only by the man's martial siblings and few select representatives from several other sects.

Standing among the sea of pink, Tang Bo's eyes remained dry as the hours went by with the crowd slowly decreasing until eventually all that stood between Tang Bo and Cheong Myeong were the empty silence and the cold, damp soil under which the man—what they could find left of him that is—rested.

A warm hand on his left shoulder pulls Tang Bo out of the haze he unknowingly found himself in. He turns around and, in a voice that fell flat even to his ears, greets, "Sect Leader Cheong Mun."

The older man has clearly seen better days. Red-rimmed eyes, slightly unkempt hair, and more lines on his face than when Tang Bo saw him last, clearly the man had not taken the death of his younger brother well. He was the only one who could pull Tang Bo away from Cheong Myeong's gravestone.

The trek back to the Sect Leader's residence was filled with a sense of disquiet; their mutual grief made it difficult to break the invisible wall between them.

Cheong Mun has Tang Bo sit in front of him as he pulls out a small chest of letters. With slightly unsteady hands, the man hands him a letter from Cheong Myeong. It was part of the pile of written messages that Cheong Myeong left on the Sect Leader's desk before he left Mount Hua with no other explanation.

Six months. Cheong Mun prayed for Cheong Myeong's return. He had sent out multiple missives and personal letters to various major and minor sects in the hopes of catching Cheong Myeong and bringing him back to their sect. Instead, what returned was rumors of one man single-handedly tearing through the Demonic Cult's ranks.

And, at the end of those six months, all that returned of Cheong Myeong after the Demonic Cult finally fell silent was news of his death and the broken shards of his sword.

Tang Bo could recall the moment with vivid clarity as Cheong Jin, devastating grief marring his features, fell to the ground in front of Cheong Mun and a visiting Tang Bo. His hands bled with how he clutched at the pieces of Cheong Myeong's broken swords and the burnt green ribbon that was stained in dried blood.

The sharp clack of Cheong Mun's chest closing draws Tang Bo away from those memories.

His eyes shift down to the letter, without even reading it, he could tell that Cheong Myeong had written it in a rush. The words that marked the letter as his sprawled across the page with some letters having been smudged in the haste it was written. These were all but Cheong Myeong's last words to him. He wants to read it. He doesn't want to read it.

Cheong Mun silently slides him a letter opener. Tang Bo knows the man also wants to know what had been written for Tang Bo. Cheong Mun's letter was filled with gratefulness and apologies from Cheong Myeong. There were no explanations from him. They hoped Tang Bo's letter would give them more clarity.

Trembling as his eyes passed over the words, Tang Bo's breath is pulled out of his lungs as if he had been struck by a painful punch. The paper in Tang Bo's hands crumples before it flutters uselessly to the ground—and with it, any doubts that Tang Bo had about his hyung-nim's actions leading to his death.

I was promised a life for a life. Tang Bo, I hope this time you live well. Travel the world for me.

Tang Bo's eyes fall shut and when he reopens them, he returns to the present. A beautiful view that greets him and him alone. In another lifetime, Tang Bo would have really liked seeing this view with Cheong Myeong.

In Moze's eyes, you reminded him of a dog catching a case of the zoomies.

You were quite literally everywhere. He'd find you talking to someone one moment before you're rushing off to do something else entirely the next. It seemed like you had quite a lot on your plate as of recently. Tasks, things you wanted to do, and so much more spinning around that mind of yours. You've told him a bit of your plans so he has a general idea. But seeing you juggling all of those tasks at once makes both admiration and concern bloom in his chest.

One time, Moze found you carrying a box filled with items. It would've been amusing to him how comical it was that the items piled so high— he could barely see you behind it. However, he did worry right after given how you almost tripped over something. He managed to catch you and the items before both came crashing all over the floor.

He insisted on helping you carry the items to wherever its destination was. It took a bit of pursuasion on his side. Convincing you that it truly wasn't a bother to him at all, and that he'd be very much glad to be of assistance to you.

"I need to get these delivered first. Then go stop by the shop to buy some things. After that…" You go on to ramble about the things you had to do to help get a better vision on what else you had to do. "Oh, no… I messed up." The smile on your face dropping at the thought that had slipped your mind until that moment. "I forgot to invite Jiaoqiu to dinner with the others—"

"It's tomorrow evening, right? He knows. I mentioned it last time when I spoke to him." Moze says with a calm tone.

You blink at him, slightly caught off-guard by the man beside you. Though it's immediately replaced with relief and gratitude. The smile on your face already back, lighting up your features once more. Infectious as always, it makes the corners of his lips tug upwards as well. A small part of him feels quite proud to have been able to help you ease your worries even by a bit.

And this is when you start noticing it.

Did you mention that you're running out of a certain skincare product, but you can't find the time to stop by the store to buy it? Moze conveniently has to stop by near the store and buys it for you. Did you also mention that you wanted to do a certain task but keep forgetting about it? He gently reminds you about it via message or verbal if he's nearby. Did you also happen to mention that you've been meaning to try out a certain desert from a cafe, but the schedule simply doesn't seem to allow you? No fear, he passes by the store to buy you the treat.

Moze doesn't see you as someone incapable of handling things by yourself. To him, he simply sees it as a way to show his care. If making a quick stop somewhere, sending you a small reminder of something you had to do that day, or even helping you out with the tasks you need to accomplish, makes you smile? Gives you a chance to take a break? Let you worry less about the things you need to do? It's worth it in his eyes.

He does his best to avoid making you feel like you're bothering or troubling him (you really aren't). Most of the time, he does them discrcetly and casually. Partially, since he's also scared that you'll think he's weird or a creep for acting like that.

Please don't think of him badly.

Moze truly means well.

crazy story!! the short and simple of it is my sister kind of introduced me to the art since she had been writing fanfiction as well. so i read a lot on like...wattpad and quotev when i was younger LMAO i think the first fandom i wrote fanfic for was fairy tail... 💀 and then i kept writing for many different fandoms and here i am! writing has been a big outlet and comforting distraction for me <3 but even more so now, it's honestly become less of an outlet and more of something that's just super fun for me!!

The act of spilling a milkshake is such an innocent mistake that immediately takes on a sinister undertone when described in such an unnerving way. You wouldn’t normally picture milkshake splatter in a brightly colored, upbeat diner as blood spatter at a crime scene. I like mixing innocent things like that with eerie comparisons; the contrast is so fun! I hope it can make for an unsettling feeling when read!

I loved writing that line (and plenty of others) for the story, so I’m glad you enjoyed it and caught the juxtaposition! I can promise the plot will only get scarier going forward hehehe!!

On a sunny spring day like today, it was a perfect time to leave the closed and dark spaces of the house to let the resurgent nature, along with its fauna and flora, bless all of one's senses in order to remember their origins.

And so, the blonde withdrew from her house to be able to take a walk through the forest paths that surrounded her comfortable abode.

Gentle breezes made the leaves on the treetops whisper to each other, while the cold drops of last night's rain still slid across the ferns in the tall grass. The smell of wet earth flavored the scent of freshly cut grass. The cicadas chirped accompanied by the noisy fluttering of the fast dragonflies in search of a nearby water source, while the occasional wild bird sang between the rough wooden logs to start the dawning morning.

It was a stage full of color, sound, smell. It was full of life.

It was the best there was to clear your mind before a long night at Ryōutei Academy.

Slightly dragging her feet across the dry, bare ground, Irina breathed in the fresh scent to hold it in her lungs for a few seconds, then released it into the air with a long, relaxed sigh. Inevitably, a button on her uniform shirt that was poorly sewn ripped open, exposing the blonde's torso a little too much.

But to the girl's mistake, she had not noticed that detail.

Irina hadn't noticed anything strange or different, not even when she had already left the forest to follow the path to the academy. Not even the looks of some people had caused her concern, because she was already somewhat used to it.

However, something that made Irina stop was finding a girl in front of her who was looking at her too much.

Too much for her to take as the habitual interest.

Tilting her head and raising one of her eyebrows to express her confusion obviously, Irina spoke.

"Can I help you...?"
