in a gc i have w him and some of my close friends, i was complaining about not having a bf and how i want one so bad.

and i get a call. i do not see who it is. i assume it's my mother bc it's late at night and i'm making too much noise. i answer the phone.

back when me and shitbag were just bsfs, i rlly liked one of shitbag's friends. lets call him niceguy. niceguy, like his name, was rlly nice and rlly funny. and i've known him since 2nd grade bc we went to the same elementary and middle school.

and i started liking niceguy this summer bc i worked with him at a summercamp. it was lots of fun. and i ended up inviting him to my bday party and he came and we got a picture tgth which ended up being rlly cute.

i would talk to shitbag a lot ab niceguy, asking for advice and shit.

and then one day, i am looking through my phone. and at this point, we had our homecoming dance within 2 weeks of the present day. and i was rlly hoping niceguy would ask me bc we texted a lot and talked a lot in person. and a lot of ppl rlly thought he might like me back.

but as i'm going through instagram, i see his story is him, one of my not so close friends, and a hoco proposal sign.

i am torn. i am distraught. i have a 4 hour ft call with shitbag to discuss it.

and niceguy and the friend i'm not so close with start dating from that day forward.

after a month or so, they break up.

and that is why, shitbag wants me to add niceguy back to the list.

I want to talk about Lee...

Lee is my new crush. I know you probably hay like "wait... wuh happen to hotel boy?" lmaoooo I know, I know but I done wid being de one doing the most work. Tbh alot of these chinese ppl barely but add me on wechat just to tell ppl dat oh... i got a foreigner on my phone or w/e. hmmm... description first? I remember the first time I saw him, I could not get my eyes off of him. The entire time I was standing outside talking with the new students, my eyes kept going to him repeatedly. Probably because I wasn't expecting such a handsome asian man to be one of the new students but I digress haha.

ahhh boi...

umm.... so description, he is about my height, just a tad bit taller [without my shoes which make me taller ahmhm hehe] he is a "short king", deep, deep, deep voice, a beautiful undercut with long hair at the top [he plans to cut the longer part so he can have his wavy hair back], shoulder to hip ratio is off the chartssss annnddd... his hands are so cute. Writing this right now got me giggling and kicking my feet I fking swear lmaooooooooooooooooo

Personality wise, now. His personality is good HOWEVER my one hang-up about him is how indifferent he is bruh... can't ask him what he wants to eat, because he gonna only say "whatever you choose, I'm okay with" like.. SIR!? lmaooo he is Chinese Trinidadian and speaks Cantonese better than mandarin because his family is Cantonese but that's coolios. He is really smart and he works and has a lot of money [but wont admit it]. I started calling him my husband after my classmate Dante told him to be careful of me because I might turn him into one of my husbands [eye roll] because I call all of my favourite chinese artists and actors my husbands... lawd

He doesn't seem the care that I call him my husband but.. that may be because of his indifference to everything lmao. I dont think he likes me, I don't think I'm his type. We sometimes just sit and talk and we also have many common likes. We have similar music tastes, food tastes, same humor, he is hilarious, I be cryinggg lmaoooo. He loves food. He spends alot of money on food too. Recently, he paid $400 on our lunch bill, me, him and our teacher. I be trying not to let the little situations feed my delusions but it's hard not to read into them like...

that day he paid the entire lunch bill, he messaged me to ask if I was going out to lunch with our teacher [because I usually do] and i said she hadn't messaged me but, knowing his love for food, I asked if there was anything he wanted to eat. He said not really but he was down with whatever I plan to do. I was thinking about the italian place I went to with 3 other students and the food was really good but my teacher said it was too far for that specific day because of a deadline she had to meet so we ended up going to somewhere close to school. The hotpot restaurant we ended up at was the result of all of that. HOWEVER, while he was messaging me about lunch plans, he was literally sitting in the same exact room as our teacher and he could have asked her, but he decided to text me instead. On our way to the hotpot restaurant, we were talking about his indifference and I asked if he wanted to marry me and he said "okay." I-- lmaoooooo I cant stand him omg

We tend have our little banter and have fun hanging out with each other and he likes to teach me about Cantonese and food. When I mentioned my mum coming to China, he asked me if my mother knew about him, I--.... I was SHOOKETH. I DONT KNOW IF HE WANTS TO BE MY MAN!! But one thing for sure, two things for certain... I am not having a repeat of Summer '24 where I was losing my mind over uncertainty. It would be nice to date him for real but our fake marriage is a lot of fun as it currently is. I'm single af while Raeda seems to be dating Dante. Both me and her were in the same situation [the one I was i with Hotel boy] but she fell for Dante immediately, same as I did with Lee... But Raeda's pretty so of course Dante was interested in her from the jump.

I've been trying to figure out Lee's type for the longest while but... idk, he doesn't seem picky lmaooo. In 2025... I guess we'll see what happens but I know one thing, I aint begging a single soul to love me because my goal is to love me and be obsessed with the me I am going to be.

My #1 post of 2022

people used to HATE misa back in the 00/10s, but nowadays i see a lot of posts about how shes cool and pretty and a girlboss. i think the reason opinions on misa changed was partly because people realised that most of the hate towards her was internalised misogyny. so much of it was because she was badly written as one of the only women in the series, and was dismissed because she got in the way of the men. shes feminine and loud and clingy and most of the 00/10s teens who liked death note were either misogynists or pick-mes.

part of it was obviously shipping, part of it was people being annoyed that she was with light when they were attracted to him, a very small part of it was because she does terrible things.

but the thing that i think changed the most was people realising that she was abused. a lot of death note fans who are women love to empower misa and i think its because so many of them have been in situations similar to hers.

she went to light with nothing left. no family, one friend who she was willing to kill, and blood on her hands. she wanted him to love her so bad because if he didnt, she had nothing left. she would rather be used and feel like she has a purpose than go back home.

then, for a huge portion of the time that rem was alive to protect her, she didnt need or know she needed protecting. when she regained her memory, rem was already dead. she had nobody on her side, and was completely isolated, except for light. and if she left, he'd kill her.

in their home life, we see light shouting at misa, still constantly berating her, and spending as little time with her as possible. if she leaves, she might die, but the abuse stops. if she stays, she gets shouted at, but she has a purpose, and she keeps her memories, and she lives, and she has somewhere to live and the task force members to talk to.

for so so many people who were/are abused, this feels really familiar. of COURSE shes clingy. of COURSE shes jealous and trying to fight takada. anything or anyone that might take away light is something that might take away everything she lives for. and she, like a lot of other people, would do and put up with terrible shit just to survive.

misa is a bad person. but equally as importantly, shes an abused person. shes not clingy, shes not annoying, shes not a dumb woman, and shes not an idiot. shes a desperate woman who was repeatedly put down and is trying to survive abuse.

It sounds like you take a lot of cool classes, what kind of stuff do you learn? Ik you complain ab them a lot but they seem interesting

LMAO i do complain a lot abt them huh <3 to be fair. all the stuff im learning is objectively interesting it's just that 1) all my professors r most awful kind of scum they're all bigoted in fifteen different ways each fucking worse than the last and everything at this institution is part of this insanely fucked up echo chamber of reactionary ultra-conservative traditional catholicism. 2) i'm incredibly disillusioned with most of this stuff because i got pushed off the edge into it from behind with no choice or consent a long time ago and i'm very very sick of it.

with that being said, a lot of the stuff i'm doing IS interesting and i've got a lot of experience that most ppl my age don't have lmao!

so the main classes i'm taking this year are:

aristotelian/classic philosophy- right now we're reading through the prior analytics. which is like. cool if ur into that. u get stuff like. this

which is fun <3 a lot of stuff about like. the nature of things. being and non being. etc etc etc.

aristotelian logic- this one is ok. i like this class actually. it's related to philosophy, but it's basically just like........ breaking down the way we think and reason into weird building blocks like syllogisms and tautologies and shit. i like when things make sense.

also im doing latin which is uhhhhhhh cool ig i've been studying latin since i was like, nine so its kind of lost any charm it has for me? in this class we're doing prose comp basically i have to learn how to write essays except in really fancy latin it sucks <3

the other cool/unusual thing im doing is schola! i guess it counts as a class? a schola is basically, like. a choir, except it's specifically focused on liturgical music- almost always gregorian chant and polyphony. i like this. i love singing. liturgical music is another thing i've been doing for a rlly long time and it's kind of the only thing i partially like about. gestures. everything.! we do a boatload of gregorian chant, which is. its own type of beast idk how to describe it i linked a vid. and i dearly love polyphony.

takin a couple other things like new testament history/music history/etc but those r fairly normal im pretty sure? anyway rn i'm a classics major, with the classes im taking i could easily do philosophy too but um. no. <3 in an ideal world next year i transfer somewhere else & do stuff that i actually wanna do lmaooo ^_^ so yh!

KAEL TRIVIA TIME (:       i meant to do these in honour of it being his bday but i pissed about all day so it’s already the 9th for me. HOWEVER he isn’t a real person and doesn’t have real people feelings so i can ignore and do what i want. the following pieces of info are all little facts about kael that have come up in various ways over the years since i started writing him (since 2014, if he want to get specific). a lot of this was established while he was still a final fantasy oc but i’m trying to scrap anything TOO specific to his original plotline. i don’t think i’ve said much about kael on this blog so, if you’d like to know more about him, it’d be neat if you could give this a read! <3    (he is one of my fav ocs, as evidenced by the fact he still exists after all this time, and i just like him hehe)

DISCLAIMER: all basic stats are on his stats page and i haven’t 100% reworked his new backstory (i’m getting there, i just have no attention span) so all of this is going to be stated without much context sorryyyyyyy

kael just really fucking loves cats. historically, he hasn’t been able to own a cat and he’s been extremely upset about it but i might just give him a cat now bc i already decided he gets to be semi-famous in this plotline so he can probably actually afford it this time. anyway, this love of cats IS a very important character trait. (actually, he likes animals as a whole, he just plays favourites.)

kael can’t swim. at all. he’s not scared of deep water but he tends to avoid it because he just never learned how to swim. ironically, his older brother is a professional swimmer. maybe kael’s inability to swim comes from a place of spite. his brother was the only person willing to teach him and kael possesses all the on-brand stubbornness you’d expect from a younger sibling who happens to also really resent authority.

actually, kael doesn’t really care for sports in general. however, he’s still somewhat athletic and he likes running in particular. he was in the track team when he was at school. he hadn’t been interested to begin with but his brother urged him to find more hobbies because he was struggling to focus his energy anywhere besides music. the only reason kael actually likes running is because he’s really fast. if he hadn’t been naturally really good at this, he’d have given up immediately.

i used to refuse to just say this bc i was sooooooooo scared ppl would think i was godmodding or trying to make my oc The Best but fuck it idc! kael is Very Pretty! his fc IS an era defining kpop visual so i am allowed to say this and also i’ve had a weird amount of starters where somebody would just rlly bluntly tell him he was weirdly pretty. kael has an air of disarming prettiness about him but it’s funny bc actually he’s just some guy. i will pound with my fists all those who argue with me ):<

i think this IS on my stats page but kael has a bunch of tattoos; one between his shoulder blades (a sun, in honour of his dead best friend), one beneath his ribcage on his right side (i’m reworking the design for this bc the original one was a lil random), one on his left wrist (swirly designs), one just beneath his right collarbone (just an ‘VIII’ bc his bday is the 8th and he’s annoying) and one on his right bicep, just above the elbow (just some basic line bands in block black).

he also really likes earrings and has several ear piercings. he mostly sticks to rings (incl. those rings piercings that are just two wings connected by a little chain) and studs but might wear dangly stuff on his lobes. AND he has a navel piercing. he doesn’t always wear anything in it but it’s there.

kael dyes his hair a lot but black and blonde are the colours he returns to most, the former because he wants to give his scalp a break sometimes and the latter bc that’s his favourite. he’s not afraid to admit he thinks blonde is a hot look for him.

he doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth and hates most cake. the only dessert he seems to actually enjoy is ice cream but he tends to like the more controversial flavours, such as mint. he loves mint as a flavour in general.

however, he LOVES spicy food. he can handle pretty spicy stuff and it doesn’t really seem to bother him much. if it DOES bother him, however, that’s almost a plus point. it’s like a fun little challenge <3

people aren’t super aware of this part of kael’s personality because he outwardly appears at this quiet, stoic guy (mostly he’s just quiet and has RBF but oh well) but he’s actually pretty clumsy. he trips over his feet a lot and is always dropping stuff. he loses stuff a lot too but he’s had enough experience misplacing stuff and not having the money to replace it to get pretty decent at finding stuff again.

kael’s preferred instrument, besides his voice, is the guitar and he’s GOOD at it. initially, he was a better pianist than a guitarist because he started off learning to play music on the keyboard but his focus on guitar over the past few years has helped him improve there as well.

S3 Rewatch - Episode 3 - Vendredi 21h36 - “Pas forcément une meuf”

And we are dropped right in the middle of the action, sound like a bass drop after the buildup of the previous clip, after a brief shot of the lit up foyer from outside (lol so not discrete guys) with a little powerpoint zoom effect on the timestamp. It works to immediately immerse us in the wild feeling of the party - everyone dancing, the angles askew, the lights flashing and swirling. Three things. First, Arthur looks hella fly in his James Bond tux, class act, hope we see that side of him again in his season. Second, how good must it have felt for Imane to be able to wear her headscarf in school like she wants but can’t do bc of messed up laws ? Also - the girl dressed as a whole ass shower with curtain and ring is a f*cking Legend she should pop up in fics more. Like the level of extra - why a shower ? Who even does that ? did she ever think about how complicated it would be for her to get away if they got caught ? Nope, she did it all for the Drama. She heard ‘Infiltration’ theme (so like, being discrete and shit) and she went and got the most out there costume she could find. Respect. Also I saw someone in a penguin onesie lmaoooo. 

Basile wants to vomit and we really needed to know that, I guess. Alexia has such BDE casually dropping the whole ‘oh yeah that cute girl that looked at me flirtily is my ex, paws off and yeah i have much more game than you also bye’ at Basile. And the way she casually comes out to her boyfriend and orders him to get her a drink as soon as he gets weird. Because she acts as if she is entitled to a normal reaction (and she is!!!) and anything else is annoying. I love her. Her boyfriend doesn’t deserve her. The painted wall behind them looks so cool. Then another hilarious instance of Daphy freaking out over rules even if she’s basically the biggest rule breaker since she started this, Imane protecting Daphy from Basile being yikes, again being the friend who does the Most, and we cut to Chloé dissing the music. Lucas asks her if she listens to Jul (an extremely lame white French rapper) which is hilarious - it’s a ‘as if you’re any better’ covert dig. And then it turns out that she does listen to music Lucas likes and the best part ? He doesn’t even care. He wants nothing in common with her. He listens to dubstep now and he’s gonna like it even if it’s atrocious. He’d rather be with Eliott and listen to annoying music than to be without him (foreshadowing!!!!). He doesn’t give a shit about Chloé and her snobbish ways. Also there is a sun projected on the wall behind Lucas (symbolism !!!) Meanwhile Mika in his metallic silver suit and rainbow shirt is being super extra and kissing boys without a care in the world, and the way Chloé talks about him is dripping with condescension - ‘did he get the wrong party’ as if everyone is not being over the top anyway, or talking abt gay men as if they’re party accessories. Alexia correcting her feels fitting - Eliott in this clip is all about being mysterious and witholding so it’s okay he’s not the one doing that even if him correcting prejudice would have been awesome. I just don’t quite see Eliott standing up for himself in the way Even did. He’s always so much more nervous when it comes to talking. 

The music then goes “oh oh” as Eliott arrives, as if on cue. Like hiding-in-plain-sight camo for Lucas, the fact that the mask is actually blocking out his face physically is very fitting (beyond looking hot as fuck) - like Eliott’s tendency to actually disappear and hide when shit gets rough. Also sorry but Lucille looks gorgeous right there - they both do. The petty “salut, mec” - l e g e n d a r y. I remember how we all thought that Eliott was going to be super sad and down after Lucas shooting him down and there he is, all smoldering ! I love that he’s never doing the expected thing. He’s sensitive, yeah, but he can be hella bold too. Eliott doesn’t even respond to Chloé and challenges Lucas with his super expressive downright bedroom-y eyes. Lucas looks so pissed off and overwhelmed and done and turned on at the same time. Like how did Chloé not notice anything, she really is next-level oblivious. Bubbles are floating around them, I love that, works with the ‘brief bubble’ they find themselves in later. 

I think we wrote entire dissertations about their remake of the ‘Call Your Girlfriend” moment - how much longer it was and felt like an entire conversation. It left me so wired and breathless after I saw it. Eliott’s little “okay we can play that game” smug smirk, open mouthed kiss, jumping in sync with Lucille, both of them looking so cool together like college kids do to high schoolers, all easy grace and racy confidence, and those neon rings around their necks like fallen haloes - whereas Lucas looks like he’s just bumbling around and smashing his face on Chloé’s clumsily out of sheer nerves and annoyance and jealousy. Lucas staring angrily at Eliott who seems absorbed in kissing Lucille and having fun without him for a moment. And then. And then. We can see Eliott pivot and the white of his eyes as they open towards Lucas. He’s staring back ! This is the first moment that we, and Lucas, unequivocally know he wants him back. It’s a culmination of three frustrating weeks of them running after and dancing around each other. But finally, there is absolutely zero misinterpretation possible. And after that, the kissing slows down, it feels like they’re both floating, and as they close their eyes - Lucas especially - we just know that they’re picturing kissing each other instead. Like for a moment, they’re caught in a trance together, in this moment of confirmation, of stolen bliss, of revelation. And bam ! Lights back on and it’s extra brutal compared to OG because it’s not just a random cut, it’s the janitor and they’re in actual danger of being found out, it adds to the ‘caught in the act’ tension. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

 And then they run, and they find each other. Eliott just grinning and thriving in the general chaos is so funny. Another reason why the forbidden party thing is awesome - in the panic, their first reflex is to look for each other, and that is very revelatory of their priorities, but it also gives them the freedom to leave together unnoticed. Eliott walking Lucas home gives us those romcom sweetheart vibes. and it’s so. obvious. subtletly whomst ? Lucas keeps having to make the choice of following Eliott - and I love that Eliott is giving him these choices, it’s a way for him to progressively ease into choosing Eliott entirely. 

Canal St-Martin ! I’ve been there ! It’s very cute and romantic ! Then we have the conversation of absolutely Unsubtle Fishing.  I love that they keep giving each other outs -  to protect each other and their own hearts, to make it easy so they can deny if they need to (so it’s serious with this gf ? so you it’s really hot between you and this Chloé - lol Eliott you know it’s not - ? so you don’t want to be in a couple ? ) and just. NOT. TAKING. THEM. And being like no Chloé is too much it’s annoying, no my couple with Lucille is coming to an end, no bitch it’s you I want !!!!! It’s that reciprocal dance they do, Lucas tentatively coming out of his shell, Eliott giving him time but also making it easier for him (and more enthralling lol). But I did NOT expect Eliott to come out like that. Like ! I was in the tram when I watched this lol (I was still not aware of the importance of Vendredis back then) and. i. just yelped out loud like a moron lmaooo. I wanted to cheer him on like he was a football player that just scored. It’s just such bi/pan goals in particular to come out like that, so nonchalantly, because you’re so easily assumed to be straight and it’s kind of a pleasure to turn ppl’s expectations around, but it demands a certain level of confidence. I love how the music rises and it goes in a second from ‘friends hanging together all casual like’ to ‘yeah they want to jump each other’s bones’. Daaaaamn Manon.

So fucking sad funny, me and my friends cut a former friend off from our friend group because she showed more and more terf behavior (started with "it's so fun to rail terfs up" to her changing her icon to the words "terf" and saying she was called terf online so that must mean she now is one and seeing it as the best joke ever & personally messaging me about it) I've known her since 8th grade, rest of our friends have known her since high school - we all had a sit down this spring to talk about her because a lot of us were like 'is it a "joke" gone way too far or what's going on' truly confused - this after her being on a party and saying there are "only two genders and anyone going away from what's on their id are faking blah blah" when she fucking knows I'm agender for one, but this stemmed from one of our friends saying he was questioning his gender identity....(like all ppl there were lgbt or have parents who are lgbt) I blocked her everywhere - she noticed what was going on in the middle of it all and messaged me on messenger going "don't take it so seriously not ALL terfs kill ppl" and blocked me on fb LMAO 6 months later fb recommended her to me so guess she changed her mind, I blocked her in response 🙄🙄🙄 anyway forward to today when I'm with one of my friends from the sit down and hear [she] has been trying to befriend her boyfriend on fb again, so he looked at her page and her latest status was like "I'm so sad and lonely tonight" dated the 13th December when I have my yearly early Christmas party - and someone asked why and she was like "because I lost my friends at the beginning of the year because I pretended to be a terf" BITCH you're sapphic, you're sapmi, u KNOW what oppression does to ppl and u decide you want to "fake being a terf" for.... fun??? So things are going okay on the tribe so far! The first immunity win was rather nice & I like being able to have a bit more time to read people until were thrown into the pressure of a tribal. So far I’m definitely clicking the most with Shane and then probably Jessica but the time zones are getting in the way a little - just glad I have more time to really click with people and try and cement a place for me in this tribe. I think my contributions to the challenges have definitely helped my standing but not everybody is being super social with me so that’s a little bit of a worry - just gonna have to go ham at bothering people in private messages until they respond I suppose! 🤪

I’ve actually been productive today *claps* I’m the worst™ and a procrastinator to the core, so it was about damn time I got shit done.
