#柄本佑#tasuku emoto#光る君へ#hikaru kimi e#1x21#made by me#fujiwara no michinaga#藤原道長#I love his new kimono <3#he's both michinaga & saburo in this episode#I never thought I'd see his saburo face ever again#when he told mahiro that he recognized her handwriting#the face he made...120% saburo#and his cold bitch mode jesus#iF I WERE KORECHIKA I'D SHIT MY PANTS#also the way he's briefing tametoki about the chinese business men...holy shit#like this is the first time this show feels TRULY like an 80s taiga drama (his face looks so nationalist...Idk)#and I want to point out that I liked the way Oishi sensei wrote the scene where nobutaka claiming michinaga persecuted korechika#it's almost a way of HER saying: you young lovers do your love thingy and leave the real history to the old men#it's a bit disappointing that she switched back to clean!michinaga in the tryst scene...sigh. she had the chance to do the craziest thing#when he turned to her & said 'yes. and?' I swear to goD I really wish there's no more. just like that. Yes. I did it. I set him up. it's me#I really don't buy that michinaga in real history was a 'good' guy. but I get it your taiga dramas dont have evil protagonists#or was he too stupid to do that?

Delinquent
synopsis - perhaps the school's delinquent wasn't as bad as they had thought
pairing - kiyoko shimizu
content - fluffy, there are violent parts, mentions/allusions of blood, fights, sexual harassment (similar to terushima), mentions of drugs
Kiyoko Shimizu
Kiyoko's heard of Karasuno's infamous delinquent, they were after all in the same year, she's seen peeks of her every now and then at school, during sports festivals, orientations, club meetings, in the halls, in the cafeteria
Your appearance never bothered her despite the fact that it was very delinquent like, coloured hair, pierced ears, tousled uniform and a tie or bow that hung around your shoulders
However, there were many parts of your appearance that said otherwise to you being so delinquent like, the little pins on your bag and keychains that hung off of it, the tinted lip balm she'd see you reapply every now and then, your cute rings and bento boxes, even your earrings were cute and only punkish on your lazy days
She has heard the stories about you, the girl who shoved the head of the school council into the school's dumpster, the girl who smashed someone's entire lab experiment and didn't even wince at the glass stuck in your skin, the girl who once emptied Takehiko Oishi's bag, the bag that belonged to the most sought after boy in school and smashed his phone and embarassed him in front of the school, there were also rumors that you had tattoos and did drugs
But, Kiyoko has never minded them, she's never minded you and doesn't really look into you, even if you were her type
At the moment, all Kiyoko Shimizu wished someone like the "Karasuno Demon" would appear and get rid of all the middle aged men who were asking her to follow them.
"Oh come on, a sweet girl like you should know what a good time is," "I'm sorry but I have some where to be," "Don't worry doll we can take better care of you," They begun to touch Kiyoko and seemed to become even more smug as she recoiled from their touch.
One of them seemed to be aiming to grab her chest, that was until it was slapped off of her, someone appeared in front of her in a flash. A side kick was delivered to the stomach of the man who had attempted to touch Kiyoko and he was blown away into a wall.
"I'm so sorry I couldn't have come here sooner, please find a safer place and look away and cover your ears, madamoiselle," A hand pointed to a sidewalk closer to a more populated area, looking behind to the source of the hand, dark ocean eyes met warm ones, the feeling your eyes held were one of warmth and compassion, like honey, large fluffy plushies, and sweet tea.
That was until another word was thrown towards Kiyoko about her body, eyes that once looked at her with such gentleness became sharp, a glint of fiercity and loathing.
You sprinted towards the group of men, turning around to mouth a 'stay safe please' to Kiyoko. Kiyoko jogged towards the spot you told her to go to, clutching the fabric close to her chest. That was the Karasuno demon and the Karasuno demon had saved her.
More importantly the Karasuno demon looked at her as if-as if she were the most bewitching person ever, Kiyoko felt, enchanted but there was something else, you called her madamoiselle, how odd. She couldn't help but giggle about it and as she turned her attention to where you once were, you were gone with the men having been piled up and left on the ground.
"Is this yours mademoiselle?" Kiyoko spun around in surprise to see you holding her hat, it must've fallen as she ran away, "Are you by chance [Name] [Last Name]."
You stared at the girl, and Kiyoko saw that same warmth return to your eyes, as if she had slipped into her bed into the winter while the heating pad was on. "Oh, why yes that is me, um, you're Kiyoko Shimizu?" She nodded with a smile.
"Um, Ms. Shimizu, would you be ok if I accompany you to your destination, just to ensure that you arrive without facing harm," "Why yes, Ms. [Last Name] that would be ok, but may I ask about your vocabulary, it's a bit different from the dialect you usually hear here in Miyagi."
You smiled at her, "It's alright, I have been adjusting but I grew up in a different country than Japan so I am still adjusting my dialect, I believe I may be grasping the idea of it but it still catches me confused," A giggle came out of the girll and you looked at her in shock, even her laugh sounded like bells, but bell sounds that would come from flowers in specific.
The two of you walked beside each other. "Is it ok if I ask you some questions [Last Name]-san," "Please just [Name] and go ahead," "By any chance do any of the rumors spoken about you bother you?" You looked at her with a grin, offering her a candy, "Well if they're true there's nothing I can do against them can I, I mean either then the one's that aren't, I don't do drugs, um, and I never will."
"It's simply that those rumors were innate in having the inability to possess information that is necessary to understand the full capacity of these situations, Takehiko Oishi took unsolicited photos of girls he would be with without their consent to do so and would show them to his friends, one of those girl's confided in me which is how I knew, I decided to take action on what was right to me, after all rumors don't affect me much now, unless they're about me doing drugs and hurting people recklessly, I promise I don't do drugs."
You seemed to be pouty after saying that and Kiyoko couldn't happen but to laugh in the irony of the situation, "I believe you [Name], would it be ok if I were to eat lunch with you on some days," Your eyes lit up and your cow lick began moving back and forth like a dog's tail.
"Yes, of course, it would be my pleasure," "Please say hi to me in the halls then, oh there are the friends I'll be meeting up with, thank you for protecting me [Name]," You handed her a small machine.
Kiyoko's head tilted in confusion, "It's a beepy, if you're in trouble, press the button there and I'll come running for you, it'll share your location and everything but only when you beep it so I promise I won't stalk you,"
You stared at it for a bit before taking it back, arms waving in panic, "Of-of course you don't have to accept it though, it's obviously kinda creepy if you think more in-depth into it, and it definitely crosses many boundaries that you may have so I shouldn't be offering this so carelessy, I'm so sorry,"
Another laugh rang through your ears and slender fingers took the machine from your own, "Thank you so much, now I have a guardian angel looking after me, thank you so much [Name], good bye now,"
As she jogged off you waved at her until she turned away and you went to walk off on your own. Kiyoko made her way to the other third years, "Was that the Karasuno demon just now?" Asahi asked nervously, "Yeah, she's particularly sweet," Kiyoko smiled at your fleeting figure.
The Kiyoko Effect
Kiyoko would seek you out every other lunch period and the two of you would sit together under a tree a bit away from the school, the first time she ate lunch with you, she was surprised at how informal your speech became, you however watched as many shows you could, reality, variety, animation, documentary, romcom, horror, thriller, game, dramas, sports, just to be able to have something to talk about with her
The volleyball team was not really fond of the idea of their older manager being around someone referred to as a "demon" but Kiyoko got really angry really quickly at them and so they shut up
Their images of you changed when they saw you feeding Kiyoko, flexing your muscles only in a way to tell her she should eat more to get stronger and that she shouldn't care about body image, the way the next lunch you were braiding flowers to place on her head as she ranted passionately, the next lunch a few crows sat on your head and suddenly you became really flustered, offering them some of your rice, so it was safe to say that they viewed the "Karasuno demon" as they viewed their ace
Yachi was the first one Kiyoko introduced to you, you had switched out all your piercings that day to look as friendly as possible, you even prepared a small cake to give to her so you wouldn't look too scary, after a lot of reassurance from Kiyoko, you and Yachi sspent a few hours talking together, about desserts and favourites
One day Kiyoko asked you what you would do outside of school and why you would always be in a rush to leave school, "Oh, I have 6 younger siblings," and you emitted a sigh, "I have another one coming on the way," Kiyoko was so shocked to hear that, "Oh, at least your parents have a good relationship?" You laughed at the way she tried to comfort you, "It's ok but I have a brother three years younger than me, a sister five, another brother eight, another sister twelve, fraternal twins one boy one girl fifteen, and the one coming is also girl, but I pick up the two from middle school, drop him off at soccer, me and my sister go pick up the other two from elementary school, I drop the older one off at gymnastics, I take the two and get them a snack and then I pick up the twins from daycare and we go to a park, then I do some groceries, and then I take the dogs on a walk, technically I'm taking the four of them on a walk, get my siblings started on their homework, drop the twins off at their friends house, I take the two middle kids with me to do some extra shopping and then they help me make dinner, every other day they do fencing though, I used to do kick boxing and taekwondo but I quit after we moved to Japan." "Wow you're so cool [Name],"
Around school people eventually began to refer to you as Kiyoko's dark knight, how Kiyoko has a demon protecting her. This mainly stemmed from the fact that half of the student population watched you punch Terushima
Kiyoko likes to buy earrings and rings for you, and given your many siblings, it wasn't a surprise that you also had 6 favourite characters. However, that number grew to 7 when you confessed to her and Chelsea from beatcats was soon a plush keychain you carried around everywhere but also a plush you'd go to sleep with
Your delinquency also changed a bit when you and Kiyoko started dating and everyone would smile to her in the halls, but Kiyoko changing you didn't mean you'd glare at anyone who'd look at her with anything more than respect and admiration
Bonus
"Kiyoko, are you cold," You look worriedly at your girlfriend who came out in a thin jacket, "I'm alright [Name], don't worry," She kissed your nose.
The more you walked, the more uncomfortable you began to feel and Kiyoko felt a weight pressing on her shoulders. Your parka had been removed from your body and placed on top of her, holding it out you motioned for your girlfriend to place her arms in one sleeve then moved to the other.
The snow crunched as you ran around to help her but you didn't mind, soon your scarves were also traded, a thin pink scarf wrapped around your neck while a thicker, fluffy white scarf was wrapped around hers, you pulled the back of the scarf up to make a hood, covering her ears.
You crouched down to her feet and placed a heat back in each shoe, "There, now my baby is all warm," You run away cheekily and your lovely track girlfriend catches up to you, slipping her arm into yours.
"You know [Name], although people call you the Karasuno demon, you feel more like a guardian angel," You kissed her free hand, pretending to bite it.
"Well, your role in your club is to look after 13 others so now it's time for me to look after you, my precious, and sweet, and pretty, and cute, and lovely, and beautiful, and divine, and angelic, and darling girlfriend,"
Kiyoko's flowery, bell-like laughter fills the cold air and she leans into you. Your fingers move to wrap her hand and she moved her hands into the jacket you placed her in, "My dark knight," And the two of you kiss, just as sweet as the day the two of you met.

Wisteria Flowers Dancing in the Breeze - Story Translation
[Prologue]
Oishi: Okay, we should all be done with our shopping now.
Tezuka: No, Fuji’s not back yet.
Kikumaru: Oh, looks like he’s heading this way.
Fuji: You’re all back already. Sorry I’m late.
Inui: There was still time left. Don’t worry about it.
Kawamura: I saw you in the camera shop. You looked pretty busy in there…
Fuji: Yeah. The guy at the camera store was very knowledgeable about lenses and methods on taking photos.
Fuji: We were talking so much, I lost track of the time.
Tezuka: That sounds like you, Fuji.
Fuji: Even though photography’s my hobby, I still wanna improve in anyway I can.
Fuji: He told me the wisteria flowers are in full bloom right now, and he showed me all kinds of photos.
Tezuka: Right, we were also discussing that earlier.
Fuji: About the wisteria flowers…?
Tezuka: There’s been talk of these beautiful wisteria trellises at the shrine nearby. Apparently many people have been visiting there to view the flowers.
Kawamura: The shopping district’s gonna hold an event and have stalls set up there over the weekend.
Inui: It appears the shopping district is sponsoring the event. There’s posters of it all over the place.
Fuji: Wow…
Fuji: (Wisteria flowers… I’m curious now, especially after talking about flower photography earlier.)
Tezuka: We get half of a day off this weekend.
Tezuka: I think we should check it out.
Fuji: Huh?
Inui: Oh, so you’ve taken interest, Tezuka…
Oishi: It’s a great idea, isn’t it? Now that we know about it, why don’t we all go?
Kikumaru: Yeah. Let’s eat some delicious food from one of stalls.
Inui: Choosing food over flowers as usual, Eiji.
Kikumaru: Food, flowers, either way is fine!
Kawamura: Let’s invite Echizen and the others when they get back.
Fuji: Right…
Tezuka: What is it, Fuji. You want to go, don’t you?
Fuji: Of course I wanna go… Don’t I?
Tezuka: “Don’t I?”
Fuji: Nevermind. Fufu… This’ll be fun.
[Episode 1]
Tezuka: …A few more people won’t make much of a difference.
Fuji: Okay then, I’ll invite Yuuta too.
Gakuto: You guys heading out somewhere?
Yuushi: Pretty late for that, isn’t it.
Fuji: Oh, no. We’re talking about the weekend.
Tezuka: All of us from Seigaku are going to see the wisteria flowers at the shrine.
Gakuto: Wisteria flowers at the shrine…? Sounds like a field trip if you ask me.
Yuushi: That sounds nice and sentimental.
Fuji: There’s gonna be an event with stalls and everything. Kinda like a cherry blossom festival.
Gakuto: Huh, that actually sounds fun.
Yuushi: Food over flowers…
Gakuto: Shut up.
Fuji: Fufu… We were saying the same thing about Eiji.
Gakuto: Wha…
Yuuta: Huh, Big Bro?
Fuji: Yuuta, perfect timing. Are you gonna be free this weekend?
Yuuta: Why, what’s going on…
Mizuki: Yuuta-kun has already made plans for the weekend.
Fuji: Oh, you’re here too.
Mizuki: How could you not see me when I am literally standing right here!?
Yuuta: Well, I already have plans to go the shopping district with Mizuki-san. There’s a shop I kinda want to check out.
Fuji: We were talking about going to the shopping district too. How about we go together?
Yuuta: Huh…
Mizuki: I don’t mind. Even though it’s not ideal, we may as well go together since we’ll run into each other anyway.
Fuji: You don’t have to come if you don’t want to.
Mizuki: Did you forget I’m the one who made plans with Yuuta-kun first!?
Yuuta: Haha… It’ll be nice hanging out with you that day, Tezuka-san.
Tezuka: Right, I look forward to it as well.
Gakuto: Hey, Yuushi. Why don’t we go too?
Yuushi: Sure. Let’s go tell Atobe and the others.
[Episode 2]
Tezuka: Everyone should be here by now…
Kawamura: Looks like there’s some people missing though.
Kabaji: Atobe-san received an urgent phone call… He says you can go on ahead.
Jirou: A phone call won’t take that long. I’ll get something to drink before Atobe gets here.
Choutarou: Ah, Jirou-san, where are you going?
Jirou: The vending machines!
Tezuka: …Right. Let’s wait a bit.
Choutarou: Um, Hyotei’s gonna be late anyway, so you can go on ahead…
Kawamura: It’s fine, we’re not in any rush so we can all go together.
Jirou: Kaba-chan!
Kabaji: ?
Tezuka: That was certainly quick.
Jirou: I have something for you!
Kabaji: This is…
Tezuka: A ten yen coin…?
Kawamura: That’s a giza coin, isn’t it. What a rare find.
Jirou: Whenever I get a ten yen coin, I always “C” what kind it is. I collect them for Kaba-chan.
Gakuto: You’re strangely dedicated, Jirou.
Jirou: Hehe, thanks.
Shishido: …Was that even a compliment?
Kabaji: …Jirou-senpai, thank you very much.
Jirou: Don’t mention it!
Atobe: What’s going on, you were all supposed to go on ahead.
Tezuka: You’re here.
Atobe: Yeah, sorry for the delay. Did these guys give you any trouble?
Tezuka: No. If anything, they’re pleasant to be around.
Atobe: ?
[Episode 3]
*click!*
Kikumaru: Fuji. What’re you taking photos of?
Fuji: The scenery.
Kikumaru: But I’m pretty sure we see it all the time~
Fuji: No matter how many photos I take, I’ll never get tired of it since they show different faces in different places.
Fuji: Oh, this is a great shot.
*click!*
Tezuka: …What.
Fuji: Were you just holding back a yawn?
Tezuka: I don’t know about that.
Ryoma: Fuji-senpai, show me that photo later.
Fuji: Fufu… I’ll think about it.
Tezuka: Fuji…
Oishi: Haha. I get why you’d yawn, though.
Oishi: This nice weather and beautiful scenery, it’s really relaxing.
Ryoma: Too relaxing, it’s making me sleepy.
Kikumaru: Heyy…
Ryoma: …Hm? Where’s that coming from…
Kikumaru: Over here. Look, slooowly… at my fingertips.
Oishi: It’s a ladybug. Where’d it come from?
Kikumaru: There’s a field of canola flowers over there. I was checking them out, and it suddenly flew in and landed on my finger.
*click!*
Kikumaru: Oh.
Ryoma: Oh, it flew off.
Fuji: Sorry, Eiji. I was trying not to startle it, but…
Kikumaru: It’s okay. Pretty sure it was about to fly off, anyway.
Kikumaru: But we’ll always be together in the photo, send me it later!
Fuji: Yeah, of course.
Tezuka: You’ve been taking a lot of photos today.
Fuji: That’s what I came to do. My plan is to take a lot of photos of the scenery, flowers and people.
Fuji: And I plan on taking a lot of photos of you too, Tezuka, so you better be ready.
Tezuka: …Go easy on me.
[Episode 4]
Kaidoh: Pss pss pss… Here, come on.
Momoshiro: …Hm?
Kaidoh: Come on, don’t be afraid.
Momoshiro: Kaidoh, who you talking to?
Kaidoh: …!
Cat: Meow…
Momoshiro: Oh, a cat. You’re fond of them, aren’t ya.
Kaidoh: Shut up. I just… happened to see it.
Momoshiro: Oh whatever, you were going out of your way to talk to it.
Kaidoh: Huh? And what’s wrong with that?
Momoshiro: Did I say there was anything wrong with it? You’re insecure, totally insecure!
Kaidoh: Quit yelling, you idiot! You’re gonna scare the cat!
Ryoma: The cat’s already gone.
Kaidoh: Oh…
Ryoma: You guys never learn, do you…
—
Jirou: …Mm. I heard a cat meow…
Atobe: Huhh? Already falling asleep, Jirou.
Jirou: Wanna nap with a cat… *snore*…
Atobe: …Figures. Kabaji, carry him.
Kabaji: Right.
Momoshiro: …Huh. Akutagawa-san’s fallen asleep?
Ryoma: Wow, that’s nice. Being able to sleep and still be on the move.
Atobe: What Echizen, do you wish to be carried as well?
Ryoma: No thanks.
Ryoma: But isn’t he heavy, Kabaji-san?
Kabaji: I’m used to it…
Atobe: Don’t underestimate Kabaji’s strength.
Ryoma: I wasn’t.
Momoshiro: But being able to carry a middle school boy so easily, I don’t even have half that kind of strength.
Kaidoh: If he does it all the time then he’s probably getting some good training in.
Momoshiro: Yeah, true…
Momoshiro: Hey Echizen, lemme carry you.
Ryoma: I just said I didn’t want to…
[Episode 5]
Tezuka: Quite the turnout. There’s more than I was expecting.
Fuji: Guess the wisteria trellises at the shrine are pretty popular.
Mizuki: There’s also wisteria flowers on display throughout the shopping district.
Yuuta: They’ve got some on the front of that store.
Yuuta: Hey, Big Bro. Look.
Fuji: Hm?
Yuuta: The front of that store would make a good photo, wouldn’t it? Especially with the wisteria flowers.
Fuji: You’re right. Okay, smile, Yuuta.
Yuuta: Huh?
*click!*
Fuji: Mm, you weren’t smiling, but it’s still a good expression.
Yuuta: Hey, why you taking photos of me?
Fuji: I’m taking photos of the wisteria flowers too.
Yuuta: Yeah, like I’ll believe that…
Fuji: Fufu…
Fuji: This place certainly is picturesque. Since we’re here, let’s take a group photo.
Tezuka: Wouldn’t it be better to take it at the shrine?
Fuji: That’s what I thought too, but I think it’ll be hard since it’s probably crowded over there.
Tezuka: True. Okay everyone, gather around.
Mizuki: Us as well?
Fuji: If you wanna join then you can?
Mizuki: Well when you put it that way, maybe I won’t…
Yuuta: Hey, now… Let’s make this a happy memory.
Tezuka: Everyone, be mindful of the people passing by.
Fuji: Okay, I’m taking it. Say “cheese”.
*click!*
—
Shishido: …Let’s grab some grub first.
Gakuto: I thought we were flower-viewing first?
Shishido: They’re selling cheese sandwiches over there. It’s rare to see that at a stall.
Gakuto: Oh, there’s a karaage stall too.
Fuji: I think I’m gonna swing by the camera store I visited the other day.
Yuuta: There’s somewhere else I wanna check out…
Mizuki: Let us make haste then, Yuuta-kun.
Tezuka: …It’s definitely hard trying to do things as a group with this many people.
Tezuka: In that case, let’s all go at our own discretion. We’ll all meet up again at the shrine’s precincts in two hours, around 5:00 p.m.
All: Okay!
[Episode 6]
Fuji: …Okay. What to do now…
Tezuka: Fuji.
Fuji: Tezuka. I thought you went to the bookstore.
Tezuka: The store had some kind of event going on, it wasn’t a very welcoming atmosphere.
Fuji: Yeah, it’s crowded over here too.
Tezuka: Didn’t you say you were going to the camera store.
Fuji: I already went. I also ended up talking to that guy at the store again…
—
Tezuka: …A photo contest sponsored by the shopping district?
Fuji: Yeah, I remember he asked me to join the last time I was there when he was showing me how to take photos.
Fuji: He seemed really eager when he brought it up, but I dunno…
Tezuka: Are there conditions to participate?
Fuji: Not that I know of. All you have to do is submit a photo you’ve taken at the shopping district before the deadline.
Fuji: But the judges are professional photographers. So they might be a tough crowd.
Tezuka: You’re unsure of yourself.
Fuji: Yeah… I mean I am glad he asked me to join.
Fuji: But my favorite photo may end up being a disappointment, you know.
Tezuka: But that would only be a technical evaluation, they don’t judge them based on sentimental value.
Fuji: …
Fuji: Yeah, you’re right. Guess I was stressing over it a little too much.
Fuji: Okay, I’m gonna join then.
Tezuka: Right. Is there a particular photo you’re going to submit?
Fuji: I have one in mind. But I’ve only got about an hour before the deadline, so I’m gonna take as many photos as I can until then.
Fuji: Would you like to join me, Tezuka?
Tezuka: Let’s go together.
Fuji: You’re amazing you know that, Tezuka.
Tezuka: …? How so?
Fuji: What you just said. Alright, let’s go get some photos of the wisteria trellises first.
[Episode 7]
Fuji: There’s a ton of people here to see the wisteria trellises as I expected.
Tezuka: It appears you won’t be able to take photos so easily…
Fuji: Huh? That sweets shop over there…
—
Yuuta: …Wow, this is so good…
Mizuki: There’s… an elegant sweetness to it, how delicious.
Fuji: Hey, so you’re here.
Yuuta: Oh, Big Bro and Tezuka-san.
Tezuka: So they put a sweets shop over here.
Mizuki: Nhm, it’s a famous locally owned Japanese confectionery that branches out over here only during this season.
Mizuki: Their black tea manjuu is a popular item. They knead the tea leaves into both the dough and red bean paste, it’s absolutely delicious.
Yuuta: Oh check it out, they’ve got a limited-edition wisteria manjuu. Look, the dough’s purple.
Fuji: Huh, never seen that before. Is this the place you wanted to go to, Yuuta?
Yuuta: Yeah. I was gonna go by myself at first, but then I’d feel awkward eating all these sweets, y’know?
Yuuta: So I invited Mizuki-san since I thought he’d be interested in the black tea manjuu.
Mizuki: Yes, the combination of Japanese sweets and tea go hand in hand.
Fuji: Hmm…
Fuji: Okay, then to commemorate today… Cheese.
*click!*
Mizuki: Wha…
Yuuta: Back at it again… At least give us a warning if you’re gonna take a photo.
Fuji: You’d tense up if I did told you. I wanted to get a natural look.
Mizuki: That photo you took…
Fuji: Yeah, I’ll share it with you later.
Mizuki: R-Right. Thank you for that.
Fuji: Don’t mention it.
Yuuta: Huh…? So you two are starting to get along…
Tezuka: Mizuki, a moment.
Mizuki: Yes?
Tezuka: The left side of your mouth has bean paste on it.
Mizuki: Huh…
Yuuta: Ah…
Mizuki: Fuji-kun, you knew, didn’t you!?
Fuji: Fufu…
Yuuta: *sigh*… Never mind…
[Episode 8]
Yuuta: …Photo contest?
Fuji: Yep. I decided to apply for it.
Mizuki: Fuji-kun, you’re not going to submit that photo you just took, are you?
Fuji: Who knows?
Mizuki: Hey…
Tezuka: He already decided which photo he’ll submit before we even got here.
Mizuki: …You could’ve told me that sooner. Honestly…
Jirou: Ah, there’s a sweets shop over there!
Kabaji: …It’s a branch.
Mizuki: Oh, Akutagawa-kun and Kabaji-kun.
Jirou: Huh, you guys are here now. Is it time already?
Fuji: No, there’s still time.
Yuuta: We were eating the sweets at that shop earlier. They’re really delicious.
Jirou: Really? Kaba-chan, what should we do.
Kabaji: We’ve already had yakisoba, and karaage, and a cheese sandwich and french fries…
Tezuka: You’ve eaten a lot.
Kabaji: We all shared our food and ate together.
Fuji: Wow. Everyone at Hyotei sharing their food would’ve been a great photo.
Jirou: Oh, that’s right. Hey there, Fuji.
Fuji & Yuuta: ?
Jirou: Oh right, gotta say which one. Big Fuji!
Jirou: Y’know that photo you took at the shopping district earlier? Send me it later.
Fuji: Yes, of course. I plan on sending it to all of you.
Fuji: Oh, and about that photo, I have a favor to ask you all.
Jirou: A favor?
Mizuki & Yuuta: …?
[Episode 9]
Hiyoshi: …Oh, a photo contest huh.
Yuushi: They’ll be announcing the results later.
Tezuka: All right. Looks like everyone’s here.
Fuji: Five o’clock on the dot.
Yuushi: I heard you guys were hanging around here for a while.
Fuji: Yeah. I was taking photos.
Hiyoshi: I heard you entered the contest.
Fuji: I did. I wasn’t able to get the OK from everyone beforehand, but—
Jirou: Hey guys, the results of the photo contest are being announced!
Yuushi: …Whoa Jirou, you’re really worked up.
Fuji: He really like the photo I submitted. So he must be curious on how it turned out.
Tezuka: Let’s get going.
—
Yuushi: …I don’t see them.
Kabaji: …Right.
Jirou: Huh~, but they were such good photos, I thought for sure they’d win!
Hiyoshi: The winner’s a photo of a cat.
Jirou: Ugh~. That’s a good photo too, I guess~
Tezuka: …That’s too bad.
Fuji: Yeah. But…
Fuji: Even with these results, it was a good memory. If there’s a next time, I’d love to win the prize.
Tezuka: Right.
Jirou: There it is!
Fuji: Huh?
Jirou: The participant section! Over here, I “C” us over here!
Yuushi: Oh, isn’t that the first group photo we took?
Fuji: Sorry for just submitting it. I couldn’t check with you all beforehand.
Jirou: You asked us for a favor though, didn’t you. To use this photo, right.
Hiyoshi: You don’t really need our permission, it’s your photo isn’t it.
Yuushi: Everyone’s got a nice smile.
Fuji: Don’t they. That’s why I wanted everyone to see it.
Jirou: This is the true winner in my opinion. Right, Kaba-chan.
Kabaji: Right.
Fuji: Fufu… I’m happy to hear that.
Fuji: I’m definitely glad I joined this contest.
Tezuka: …So it appears.
[Episode 10]
Tezuka: …The trellises at night?
Fuji: I heard they’re beautiful when they’re all lit up. I’d like to take photos of it to commemorate.
Fuji: The guy at the camera store recommended I take photos at night since there’ll be less people around.
Tezuka: Echizen and the others are already heading back. Let’s divide into two groups of who’s staying and who’s going.
Fuji: I’m fine staying by myself. I don’t want anyone staying if they don’t want to.
Tezuka: There are some of us who are interested in seeing the wisteria at night. I’m one of them.
Fuji: Tezuka…
Yuuta: Yeah, I’ll stay too. I heard the wisteria at night is awesome to see.
Mizuki: The clerk at the sweets shop mention it as well. They said it’s a whole different world at night.
Atobe: A whole different world, huh. Hearing you say that has piqued my interest…
Shishido: Sorry, but I’m heading out. Training over flowers.
Shishido: Wakashi and the others said they’re gonna jog on the way home, so I’m going with them.
Atobe: Then I’m going too. We’ll check out the wisteria at night some other time.
Atobe: Tezuka, I entrust them to you.
Tezuka: And I trust you with the ones leaving, Atobe.
Shishido: …Huh? Hey, where’d Jirou go?
Atobe: Probably asleep somewhere. As always.
Shishido: Christ, forget “food over flowers” it’s all about sleep for him…
—
Mizuki: …It’s nighttime now.
Yuuta: Kinda spooky since there’s not that many lights around the shrine…
Tezuka: Maybe it’s so the wisteria will look better at night.
Fuji: By the way, I’ve been thinking about this since we saw the wisteria in the afternoon…
Fuji: The flowers have a strong fragrance, don’t they?
Yuuta: I knew something smelled good as soon as we came to the shopping district.
Yuuta: I just wasn’t sure what it was at first.
Mizuki: They were all around the entire district, so of course that’s what we’ve been smelling.
Tezuka: The scent has gotten even stronger.
Fuji: There it is…!
[Episode 11]
Mizuki: This is…
Mizuki: Magnificent. It truly is a fantastical world…
Yuuta: Incredible… This doesn’t even feel real.
Mizuki: Nhm, the clerk did say it’s a different world at night, now I understand.
Fuji: …
Tezuka: You’re not going to take any?
Fuji: Huh?
Tezuka: Photos.
Fuji: Oh, I forgot… I just couldn’t stop looking.
Fuji: I think I’ll look some more before taking any photos. It’d be a shame to only look at this through a lens.
Tezuka: Right… It is good to calmly observe.
Jirou: Whoaa! Awesome!
Yuuta: Oh, I thought everyone from Hyotei left…
Jirou: I kinda got left behind. Hehe.
Mizuki: I don’t think that’s something to laugh over.
Mizuki: And you too?
Kabaji: No…
Kabaji: Atobe-san left me in charge of Jirou-senpai today.
Jirou: Kaba-chan, thanks for sticking with me.
Kabaji: Right.
Fuji: Tezuka—
Fuji: Oh…
Tezuka: …
Fuji: …
*click!*
Tezuka: …Fuji.
Fuji: Sorry, didn’t mean to disturb you.
Tezuka: No, it’s fine.
Fuji: I just couldn’t resist. Seeing you like—
Tezuka: …?
Fuji: Mmm, never mind.
Fuji: Fufu… Another memory for me.
Tezuka: Speaking of memories… Fuji.
[Episode 12]
Tezuka: Speaking of memories… Fuji.
Fuji: ?
Tezuka: There hasn’t been any good photos taken of you, Fuji.
Fuji: Yeah, since I’m the one with the camera.
Fuji: But Eiji and Momo took photos on their phones. They’ll send them to me later.
Jirou: Oh yeah! Now that you mention it, you weren’t in the group photo, Fuji.
Jirou: And you were stuck taking all the photos. It’s too bad we didn’t notice sooner…
Yuuta: Big Bro, you’re always the one taking the photos aren’t you.
Fuji: It’s fine. That’s how it is when you’re the one holding the camera.
Kabaji: …I’ll take one then.
Kabaji: Everyone please line up.
Jirou: Huh, but you should be in the photo too, Kaba-chan.
Mizuki: Then perhaps we can ask someone else to do it.
Mizuki: Our group isn’t that big, so there shouldn’t be an issue.
Tezuka: Right. We may as well take a photo with everyone present.
Fuji: You guys…
—
Fuji: …Thank you. Another memory added my collection.
Tezuka: There’s one more, actually.
Fuji: Huh…
Tezuka: You’ve taken plenty. Now allow me to take one.
Fuji: It’s fine. I was just doing it because I wanted to.
Tezuka: If you don’t wish to be photographed, then that’s fine.
Tezuka: Even though you went and took all those ones of me earlier.
Fuji: Payback?
Tezuka: Returning the favor.
Fuji: …It’s kind of embarrassing now that I’m the one being photographed.
Tezuka: Now you’ll understand how we felt.
Fuji: You were embarrassed too, Tezuka?
Tezuka: …Taking it.
*click!*
—
Mizuki: …Yuuta-kun, don’t forget the souvenirs.
Yuuta: Of course. Most of these sweets are for me, though…
Jirou: So sleepy…
Jirou: But I’ll be fine. Let’s walk home together!
Kabaji: Right.
Fuji: I hope we can all come back to visit again.
Tezuka: It’s the shopping district, you’re free to come here anytime you want.
Fuji: That’s not exactly what I meant…
Fuji: Well, it’s fine. We should do this again sometime.
Tezuka: …Yeah.
[Epilogue]
Yuuta: Oh, look! They just showed the shrine!
Jirou: Huh, really?
Kabaji: …I believe that was the shrine.
Mizuki: Maybe they’ll do a segment on it after this.
Tezuka: Looks lively in here.
Yuuta: Oh, Tezuka-san. They were showing those wisteria trellises we saw yesterday on the TV.
Tezuka: Oh…?
Mizuki: It’s a special program showcasing the beauty of the wisteria flowers.
Yuuta: They showed it earlier, so I think they’re gonna show it again.
Fuji: Oh, you’re all here.
Fuji: Perfect timing actually. I wanted to give you all these photos.
Yuuta: You already printed them out, Big Bro? Weren’t there a lot of them?
Fuji: Yeah, but I chose carefully. It’s good to see them when they’re still fresh in your memory.
Tezuka: You did well on these… It was a lot of work though, wasn’t it?
Fuji: Of course. But for me, it’s a fun process.
Jirou: Hey, check out this photo. You can “C” Mizuki has bean paste on his mouth.
Yuuta: Ah…
Mizuki: Hey, Fuji-kun! Didn’t you just say you chose carefully!?
Fuji: It’s a great photo, isn’t it.
Fuji: Tezuka, this photo is for you.
Tezuka: This is…
Fuji: Fufu… It’s a great shot, right?
Jirou: Huh, what photo?
Fuji: I caught Tezuka almost yawn—
Tezuka: Fuji.
Jirou: What, what? I wanna know!
Kabaji: Ah… On the TV…
Yuuta: Oh, there’s the shrine! They’re introducing it!
Mizuki: Those wisteria trellises have made a mark.
Fuji: Everyone’s distracted now.
Tezuka: Good grief…
Fuji: I really like that photo. I think it’s good to let your guard down sometimes, at least on your days off.
Tezuka: …Maybe so.
Tezuka: By the way, I didn’t see that photo I took.
Fuji: Yeah, it’s only me in that photo, but… did you want it?
Tezuka: I am the one who took it.
Fuji: Fufu… That’s a weird answer.
Fuji: Okay, I’ll give you it later.
[STORY END]
Nothing more heartwarming than… unsolicited photography… I guess…

vv brainrot continuation:
Day's performance like Talay's performance in the association after returning to their universe
Inserting meaningful flashbacks from their past reminded me of the flashbacks in our skyy
In all universes, we will embarrass and flirt with each other in the bookstore
plugging your mouth with your index finger (somewhere this is done Puen with Talay in the cinema at the premiere of the film)
Groping the six-pack (where is my favorite scene of Oishi in episode 8, when they were playing reflectance)
A song from Vice Versa while eating a cake (Monica, tell me that you also thought it would be a nomnom, I don't want to be the only creepy)
Look at the pre-wedding photos on the screen (I'm marrying a colorist hello)
This whole situation with Day saying that Mork needs to fly back again sends me to Talay telling Puen to communicate with Pang, and he says that they need to split up and look for their portkey
When Day asks Mork to give them a second chance to start over, I got Talay's vibes, who confesses his love to Puen on the bus. and their hugs are hugs in a glasshouse (ai dang).
The narration on behalf of Day reminds of Talay's summing up at the end (Sea needs to record audiobooks, he has such a pleasant timbre) Mork and Day arrived at the grave. Do you think Puen brought Talay to his parents' grave and told them not to worry and he has Talay who will take care of him? I'm so cry
Okay, Night, forcing baby Me to eat, this is Talay and Jigsaw
A mountain is a lake. It always has been and always will be. Mork and Jimmy are both so annoying. You fell in love first, calm down already.
The last minutes of the mountain is completely a scene on the beach in our skyy. Well, Monica, thank you for sharing this journey through brainrot with me. I've been happy to yell on your blog since only friends and feel like it's mutual and I'm not yelling alone. idk when we'll meet again. maybe in an the trainee or at 23.5, or maybe in the second half of the year, when js joint series (manifestation) will be released, or maybe we'll meet in a series from another TV company. in any case, I'm not saying goodbye to you, I'm sure that the brainrot of Vice Versa will continue in other series, because she is the queen and everyone should know the progenitor of romance by sight, and all her chips wander into other series, let them not talk about it out loud.

Your very pink Pinkybrain 💕
my dearest pinkybrain 🩷💜💙🩷
i wanted to wait until i felt a bit better about the ending of last twilight before answering you, because i sadly gotta admit that my personal disappointment prevented me from catching most of brainrot, but that might take me a while and i didn't want to keep you hanging for too long
i apologize if i can't scream too much with you this time, but also i want to take this chance to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the past months. since we've started the vv brainrot back during only friends, your messages have been such a big source of joy for me and i was looking forward to them as much as i was looking forward to the episodes themselves. this time too, regardless of how i feel about the episode, getting your message and reading all the parallels you were able to catch made me smile a whole lot (DON'T WORRY I THOUGHT THE CAKE SCENE WOULD END UP IN A NOMNOM MOMENT TOO. THAT OR A SMEARING EACH OTHER'S CHEEK WITH CAKE AND THEN CLEANING IT UP AND MORK SAYING THAT IF THEY WERE AT HOME HE'D EAT IT RIGHT FROM DAY'S FACE SCENE)
i hope we'll be able to meet each other and keep screaming about vice versa together very soon. i love you, pinkybrain 🩷
#sorry again if i didn't contribute with anything this time ;;;;;;#but thank you for pointing out so many parallels!!!!!!#still convinced p'aof watched vice versa too many times#thank you again for everything pinkybrain 💜💜💜💜💜💜#vice versa#last twilight the series#m: ask

I saw - yesterday. I’m not sure how I feel about it. Is it finally our turn? Did we wait long enough? Are we mature enough now? We laid in bed talking about the love we once had for each other. He actually started it by saying, “you are my one true first love.” And it’s true. We were so young and irresponsible with this strong connection. No one can blame us really and we can’t blame ourselves because we didn’t know better. We didn’t know what we had it was the first time we ever felt that way. We didn’t know what we had. Or did we. I’ve never been so romantic and cheesy with anyone else, of course I had boyfriends before him but he was different. I wanted to express my love in every way possible through my body, words, and letters. I can remember nights we would take his moms blue jeep up the mountain. We would pull over on the side of the road and crawl onto the top just to get a better view of the stars. I imagined a life with him, secretly I still do. I wonder if I always will or if my thoughts will become reality. He said to me, “we are going to grow apart, grow up, and we will come back together. I know it.” His confidence in this statement haunts me to this day. I brought it up when I saw him yesterday, I asked if he meant it back then. He replied, “yes.” I followed up with a, “what about now do you still believe it?” Forgive me I don’t remember his exact words because I was so astonished by what he said, “look at us right now. You are one of the best people I’ve ever meet I’ve always been into you. I think you are exactly what it means to be an embodiment of a woman.” Embodiment of a woman. I’ve never been told that. I don’t really feel like a woman yet. But this made me feel very empowered. I want whoever I’m with to see me this way. We laughed and talked about the horror stories of living with our exes (which was very therapeutic btw). Truthfully it hurts to think he was so serious about that girl that they decided to live together but that’s what you do at this age I am too guilty. He gave me the rundown on his family and the things that have changed them followed it up by saying, “trauma dump.” Which I thought was hilarious. I appreciated it though. I live for the deep talks like that and connection I crave it. I’m glad he is mature enough to talk about it. Of course we had sex too. It’s like our bodies were made for each other. They fit perfectly and know just exactly what to do, how much to do it, and where to do it at. It’s mutual. It’s enjoyable and honestly I’m not even into sex like that. But once again it’s different with him. I didn’t want to leave and he didn’t want me to either so I didn’t. I basked in the moment. We held each other like no time had passed. We played one round of darts in his room which we tied and he wouldn’t play again because he said, “I’ll never move those darts so a part of you will always be in this room, but you don’t even know what the picture was that was behind the board.” Which was weird but whatever. I went to take my makeup off and he came in the bathroom to pee I asked if he wanted me to blow out the candle since we were about to sleep (It was a weird candle like one you get from a crystal store with no smell and mother Mary on it) he said yes so I did and he said, “got you twice.” Which I also don’t know what he meant. Then he talked about how he wants me to have his children which was weird. We went to sleep then the next day woke up and went downtown for coffee. We matched with our new balances on. When we walked in the coffee shop I felt proud to be there with him secretly I wanted everyone to notice. Then we got sushi naturally he ordered for me. We sat in the back booth at oishi and tried each others sushi rolls. It was so nice and pleasant. We were laughing having great conversation. I didn’t feel like I had to be any other way than myself around him. I felt calm. We went back to his house and he let me pick his profile pic on the game and we watched a movie. I had already seen it but I was just enjoying being there.

Thank you so very much for the translation! I've been wanting to read this diary ever since I knew of its existence.
I'm still at the end of part 2 and I'm having serious doubts about the accuracy of Shinpachi's recounts of the events. I mean, who knows what really happened back then, and maybe it's too early to judge his diary since I haven't finished it yet, but it almost seems like he didn't want the Shinsengumi looking bad.
Explanation below.
I've always been interested in Itou Kashitarou's and Yamanami Keisuke's stories in relation to the Shinsengumi.
I don't know about the other diary he wrote 30 years after the fact, but he doesn't mention Yamanami's seppuku in this one. Not sure if it's too painful to talk about or he simply didn't want the Shinsengumi to be remembered as ruthless.
I've read Romulus Hillsborough's book about the Shinsengumi as well as other articles and although I'm not 100% sure about the accuracy of these sources either, they somehow make more sense.
For example, in Shinpachi's diary, he mentioned that Itou joined the Shinsengumi in order to take over and that Todo Heisuke was secretly helping him with this plot and Kondo Isami knew about it. But that really makes no sense. Because he later says that Itou left and formed his own group. Did he simply give up on his goal to take over? Also, if Todo was so treacherous as to aid Itou against Kondo, how did the story turn into Kondo wanting them to spare him at Aburanokoji? And then, somehow, he still gets killed because of someone who didn't know? That's a bit suspicious.
The second story, on the other hand, is much more plausible. Itou joined to influence the Shinsengumi, failed to do so, came up with a clever plan to leave without dealing with the consequences of their strict code, and formed his own group.
Another thing is how Itou, seemingly out of the blue, decided to assassinate Kondo and burn down the Shinsengumi's HQ. In other sources, it's mentioned that the 10 men from his faction who were left behind wanted to follow him but he told them he'd made a deal with Kondo that none of the men would switch sides after he left, and that they should go to an Aizu official in order for them to be able to leave peacefully, which they did. While waiting, Some Shinsengumi members, including Inoue Ginzaburo and Oishi kuwajiro, were summoned there and saw the 4 men, who represented themselves and the other 6, and killed them. The other 6 were expelled from the Shinsengumi. Upon hearing about this, Itou became furious and made this plan to burn down the Shinsengumi HQ and kill anyone who tried to escape. This makes a lot more sense.
Again, no one really knows what happened exactly, but the impression I get of the Shinsengumi is that Kondo and Hijikata were after the titles and the glory. They were very cunning. Many of the men that joined ended up wanting to leave, Yamanami, Itou, Todo, Takeda, and at some point even Shinpachi. Actually, the mere fact that deserting meant facing such a severe punishment leads me to believe they knew people were gonna end up trying to leave them.
I still find their story very interesting and I wish there were more information about them, and less romanticized versions of who they were and what they did.
Where can you read the memoirs?
Nagakura Shinpachi has two memoirs about his time with the Shinsengumi.
The first one, Shinsengumi Tenmatsuki (新選組顛末記), was written by him around the 9th year of the Meiji era, about 30 years after the events.
It was originally published serially in the newspaper Otaru Shinbun from March 17 to June 11 as memoirs entitled "Shinsengumi Nagakura Shinpachi".
It has been pointed out that the story may include the reporter's exaggeration, as it was not written by Nagakura.
(source)
This is available on Amazon. There are Chinese translations for parts of it, but there aren't any English translations as far as I know.
The second one, 浪士文久報国記事, was written during the events and was only discovered in 1998. It's also available on Amazon, and includes Shimada Kai's diary (島田魁さきがけ日記), and there are Chinese translations for some of the entries.
I'm working on an English translation for this. It's still a work-in-progress as most of the entries are only machine-translated, but you can read it here.

10 thoughts about Japan (Osaka to be Specific)
WARNING: there are too much amazement here!
Garden Koko-en, Himeji
They don't really know how to express their care to the foreigners verbally but with their facilities, you’ll see, they care BIG TIME! First of all they made the AC centralized! Haha.. It was 8degrees when the plane landed at Kansai International airport. Woah! I only got two jackets, I wasn’t expecting Japan to be that cold, I’ve checked the weather beforehand but still I’ve never experienced that before...It was summer in the Philippines (March 25, 2017) yet it’s so cold in Japan. I guess it is called tail of winter and early spring though. I was really not prepared; in fact I have brought a flip flops & citronella lotion. Hahah (summery feels!) Apparently I wasn’t able to use those. It’s too cold for those mosquitos to fly around Japan, they can’t because they have thick jackets as well, but the truth is they all died!
Still about the facilities, let’s talk about the comfort rooms. Toilet bowls have buttons for washing uranus, haha..really designed for pooping and as I have seen, mall toilets seemed like wifi connected cause there’s a wifi symbol on screen. So high tech! I couldn’t miss the experience so I tried it! hahah 😊 😊 😊 The comfort room will definitely give you comfort!
at Piole Mall Himeji
3. Wide sidewalks, it’s obvious that they prioritized safety for the pedestrians and drivers inside their vehicles are courteous, when green lights turn they wait few seconds before they go. (Now imagine that situation in Manila, some drivers are just so impatient and rude). Okay too much of comparing, bad vibes are starting to cover up my feel good mood right now for this Japan review. Hihi. I’d loved to mention I did not experience traffic congestion at all on my stay there.
4. Vendo capital. You’ll find vendo machines on almost every side of roads and railroads. You will never get thirsty; you’ll find variety of drinks from water to juices to sodas, (vendo kaya ng mga uhaw sa pag ibig meron?) LOL. Fare for train, vendo. Fare for buses, vendo. Open parking spaces, vendo, they don’t hire guards.
5. Safe place. Even if I had put my wallet in the front pocket of my bag pack, there’s no thief. My friend’s bag’s zip tends to open most of the time, I just told myself "great that we are not in Manila.". Houses have small gates or none, Japanese’ knows they’re safe.
Hyogo, Kobe
6. Super clean environment and disciplined locals. There are trash bins for bottles, papers, some for left overs and for other garbages. No one’s littering. After eating at a restaurant people will dispose or bring back to the counter what they’ve used (utensils), so a crew will just have to wipe the tables. :) At the streets I saw some dogs being walked, one pooped, but the owner has a plastic bag on his hand and grabbed it. 😅
Dotonburi
7. Cool architecture. House exteriors are so cute, simple and ideal. Buildings have PVC exterior walls, I’ve knocked on to curiosity, interiors are plywood, I think those are assembled house, only stairs and roof deck were made of concrete, well I believe columns and beams as well. Even comfort rooms, toilet, wall, tub and floor were built altogether, so they would just install them quick. I loved the accordion door at the apartment I stayed in it made me want to take that home. 😂 Also I had time to go to a children playground, I’ve notice even the high storey houses have PVC exteriors but looks like concrete. Cool!
8. Fashion city. I think I belong there, it seemed like every street is a runway, they don’t care about what people may say, whatever outfits they wear they never run out of fashion sense, skirt over leggings, long skirts, loose jeans, boots, knee high socks, hair dresses. From babies to oldies, they soooo cute!!!! ♥
9. FOODS! I loveeet!!! Sushi, grilled eel, oyster, takoyaki, chocolates, ice creams, all that I’ve eaten there were sooo oishi! Worth the expensiveness! 😂 😂
Matcha X Sakura
10. The spending. Japan has a high cost of living, as shown on their bodies because they choose to walk and bike. I spent more on foods and transportations, well those were the things I’ve only got to spend onto. My train fare ranges from 160-970yen (x .44 for php), taxi costs 1000yen and above.
11. Oops I am making it 11 because this is the one thing I’ve really liked about experiencing the country. You'll hear "arigato" everywhere; I didn’t even heard one uttered "bakero". Japanese' are always grateful that’s why they are successful. Beautiful people. ❤️ Try to walk around the streets of Philippines, what are you hearing?
two of my goals there, to have a picture with a pure Japanese and to see a cherry blossom. Too bad I wasn't able to prepare a good camera. I have borrowed my friend's phone but she sent the pics through facebook and quality diminished. :(
BUT I am probably coming back! ❤️ 🌸

CPN : garlic 🧄
before we start, I just wanna appreciate how somft, cute, healthy and happy XLS looks in that douyin post. maybe i’m getting so 🥲 over him as Yiye so this is a nice reminder that irl, xiao laoshi is thriving.
So let’s talk about this black garlic and it’s connection to Bobo.
• At the start of the video when XLS was being asked to choose and then he prompts “I’ll leave right away in anger if it’s black garlic...” . then be proceeds to *thankfully* not get it in the next round to eat. Half of the video feels like him explaining about it and why he does not prefer it. which is interesting. like, we’re playing a game. why are you talking so much about garlic?
I’ll explain, I’m the type of person who thinks garlic is only supposed to be a cooking ingredient. It should be added to some dishes but I never eat it raw since I was a kid. My dad does (....)
Now who do we know LOVES to eat garlic? raw? Oh yeah. YIBO. 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
• He ate black garlic in an episode of TTXS and his opinion of it is : Really sweet, it doesn’t have that much of a garlic flavor but it’s very sweet and also seems sour. In this episode, Han ge also says that Bobo eats his dumplings and noodles with garlic. Obviously I’m not a master of type of black garlic and idk if it’s the exact same that was used in the game. but you get the point.
• In an episode of SDC hotpot, he was eating it was nothing. ( gif I used above is how he ate it ). also garlic.
jackson: what’s this?
yibo: it’s extremely delicious
jackson: is this food for your body?
yibo: this can increase your resistance level
• In a different episode of TTXS where he eats his noodles w/ garlic— he says the taste is reduced in half if he doesn’t add it.
• TTXS bros gifted him a garlic bouquet 💐
• and well, Oishi made a pickled garlic flavor. which he likes.
CPN is, GG explained so much because the love of his life adores Garlic. He went into so much explanation to make his case & then in the end said it’s okay if you like it. Lol.
There is also a fake rumor / repo that resurfaced because of this. It said something along the lines of: the crew ate noodles with garlic and DD ate, after the meal they are waiting to shoot again. GG told him he can’t eat garlic, but DD said it was super delicious. Then he pulled GG to him to “smell” , then he continued to say that he already brushed his teeth.
Yibo you gremlin 🤣🤣🤣 Xiao Zhan must love him very much!
It’s also so bold of his staff to add in something they know he HATES. Which is well, i have to admit does make for interesting content. but they are so brave. they must have a little boss who gave them the idea. lol. 😂

Vice Versa ep 5
I find it just a little bit cool - whether a coincidence or not - that I noticed a lot of black and white use in last week's ep and then this week's theme is Winter White...maybe I was on to something?
Anyway, this week follows a little on from last week, in that there are a lot of blue-and-red and black-and-white pairings, a couple of green-and-yellow pairings, and then some some bits of brown and even less orange. And straight off the bat, we get almost all of these (just no green...although purple is its complementary colour):
In the next scene - following the episode title screen which blends 'shadowed'/black areas in with the white - Puen and Talay switch from colour to black and white (with the black and white sign behind them) whilst being told "Your soulmate might be closer than you think. Pay close attention to the person sitting next to you." The theme 'Winter White' might be a commentary on Talay's coolness towards love and relationships (and the use of black and white showing how Puen's views and actions sit on the opposite of that) and so him in white here seems apt. Blue is also seen as a 'cold' colour (which I think is Talay's colour), so his 'icy heart' is probably going to be thawed out by Puen's 'fiery redness'...or something... (Incidentally, in this scene both Aou and Up have blue on, and Chang has light pink).
Then, interestingly, when Pang is introduced, she's also in black and white and even though Talay and Puen aren't in colour, the light behind is full of it. Blue, of course for Talay (with Dol in red) and pink/purple behind Puen. I think the ambiguity of the colour (some might say pink, some might say purple) is also a nod to the ambiguity of Puen's words and actions towards Talay...especially following the library conversation where Talay offers his real name to Puen but Puen still continues to withhold his identity from Talay. It also indicates the coming uncertainty around Pang and her role in both the series and in either of them getting back to their home universe.
And once they're at dinner, this background lighting continues - with blue (and yellow) behind Talay, and red (and green) behind Puen. I love the placement of the umbrella pole, separating Puen and Pang on one side and Talay on the other, a visual representation of how Talay feels in this moment.
On the film set, we get more small blue and red details in the background...and Puen and Talay again in black and white but this time also with brown. If the show is continuing with the connection of brown with "seriousness", then I'm hoping it shows that the affection Puen has towards Talay is genuine. Notice also the random yellow objects in the background - the ladder and the cloth someone is folding - it was during this scene that I suddenly wondered whether the yellow and green pairings were actually just a nod towards the Oishi tea product placements. That would be hilarious if so!
Red-and-blue and black-and-white also showed up in the association (with a pop of brown maybe to indicate the seriousness of the recently-returned man's predicament and the reality of the consequences of the universe/body swap)...
...as well as in the four suits of the four friends - Up and Aou's trousers are white, Puen and Talay's black, and I think Up's jacket is a navy blue with red stripes (I actually wonder if I've seen someone wearing it before...), plus the blue seats. These four looked fantastic. This is how to colour co-ordinate with friends! (Dol and Jubjaeng also looked incredible!)
Then, towards the end, brown came back a little more (with Puen and Talay in the cinema) and Up and Aou bringing the blue and red. The orange hat also returned, and with black and white still featuring. All of this echoed back to the colours in the first scene, which is poignant since this is when they decided/realised that the Friend Credits group would be splitting up.
And in the last scene, the emphasis feels more towards the yellow/beige/ochre colours (although there are still small elements of red and blue [up's sweater and phone and Aou's t-shirt] and black and white [Puen's t-shirt and Up's hat]). It's this and some of the colours in the ep 6 preview that makes me want to make another prediction (even though I might be wrong) that I think next week's ep will be a shade in the region of yellow/ochre/beige/brown...we'll see!
[Ep 1] [Ep 2] [Ep 3] [Ep 4] [Ep 5] [Ep 6] [Ep 7] [Ep 8] Ep 9] [Ep 10] [Ep 11] [Ep 12]

Hi again Radish! I can confirm the Mandarin lyrics of คู่กัด are very different from the Thai.
I'm not very fluent in Mandarin so I had to look it up, but from what I can see they didn't just translate the Thai lyrics into Mandarin, even though the key signature, musical arrangement and rhythm are pretty faithful to Bird Thongchai's original (the Chinese version is just slightly faster in tempo).
คู่กัด's lyrics are about two people who love each other but who also fight constantly and bitterly (told from one side's point-of-view, and he questions why they behave like that). 失恋阵线联盟's lyrics, on the other hand, are about two people who had their hearts broken by the same girl, and they're finding solace in each other's company.
Interestingly, both versions seem to keep that gender ambiguity around the one whom the singer is singing to. Since คู่กัด can be applied to Pat and Pran, it seems logical to me that the lyrics don't actually indicate that Bird Thongchai is singing to a woman; could you confirm that? (Makes me think of the way Pran's first note accompanying his anonymous gift of green tea to Pat did not have any particles identifying his gender, and Pat mistakenly thought the Oishi was from a health-conscious girl. 🤩)
In 失恋阵线联盟 the one who broke the male singer's heart is indisputably a girl (because the lyrics use the female 她 meaning she/her instead of the male/neutral 他 – basically the same word but with the female radical 女). But it uses the male/neutral 你 for you, when the singer addresses the person he is singing to – so it could very well be another girl. Even if it were another guy, the song title is about them coming together in a battlefront alliance (阵线联盟) regarding the same girl who dashed their romantic hopes. So while it could be platonic (and I suppose it was meant to be seen that way, given that it was the 1990s) it could also be given an LGBTQ+ reading in that the two guys are finding romantic comfort in each other's company, after getting their hearts similarly broken by the same third party (a girl). 😍
I love that คู่กัด is so fitting for Pat and Pran in Bad Buddy; thanks for pointing that out! 😍 I burst out laughing when I heard Bird Thongchai sing หมากับแมว (maa gap maew) because the fans used to refer to Pat and Pran (or was it Ohm and Nanon?) as dog and cat in the early days of the fandom. 💖
bad buddy fandom getting-to-know-you-meme!
Got tagged by @telomeke at this post here. Thanks!!
name and whatever you want to share about yourself
You can call me Radish if you want. My @ of this blog is something I randomly put in without much thought, and now I have too many links to change it (I hear that if I change the @, all the links would be gone. I never tested it, but the risk is there, and I don't hate my @ yet so ¯_(ツ)_/¯) Reading is my soul-consuming hobby since I can read. Recently, I have gotten into writing fanfic, and while it is not the best and I would still prefer someone else to write it, there is a weird satisfaction in reading a story that goes exactly as you think.
when did you watch bad buddy/join the fandom?
I have been very excited since it was announced. I'm Nanon's fan from The Gifted, and to see him suddenly accept a BL role is a big, pleasant surprise. Bad Buddy is probably the first thing I've watched live in years, and it's also the first thing I've rewatched even before it ended. The first (and only) thing that got me to watch the reaction clip too. I've been hooked since the first episode. Each small expression Pran makes has me in chokehold.
Favourite ship/s
PatPran
Favourite character/s
Pran. I love all the characters, but Pran is my baby. My cute little blorbo💕💕💕💕
Favourite episode/s
I feel like my answer changes each day. Let's say Ep. 3 for today. PatPran sneaking around is cute, the comedy is exactly to my test, and Pran's face that shows in this episode is doing something to my heart.
Favourite scene/s
The scene that I feel is most memorable is the one after the music contest. Yes, the "ma ni di" scene—I don't think I have to tell you why.
The first time I see the rooftop scene, I don't know what I feel. After that scene, I felt like crying. It's an impactful scene for sure.
The scene where Pat and Pran go to market together is definitely one of my fav.
I love Pran's face in the scene where he gets ขนมจีบ(Dumplings?) and a note from his mystery admirer. I keep rewatching that.
Every lighthearted moment between Pran and Wai. I do think Pran shouldn't let Wai get away from being a bad friend, but other than that, I love them together.
The ending scene felt extremely nice.
basically every scenes
One thing you would change about the show if you could
I would like to know more about Pran and Wai's relationship. Nanon said that for him, it makes sense that Pran would be that pushover (?) when it's Wai, and I really want that piece of information.
what are your some of your favorite fanworks made by other people?
I'm grateful for anyone who makes any type of fanwork, but my favorite type of fanwork is definitely fanfic. I think "When did all my friends become so loud?" by fangurks is my fav bbs fic.
Do we count the reaction from ศูนย์วิจารณ์(Soon Vijan) as fanwork or official?
What are your favourite fanworks you've made?
The only piece that is specifically for bbs fandom is my name's meaning(with some extra info) post here. It's the only one, so it's automatically my favorite.
A song that makes you think of BBS (not in the show)
คู่กัด(rival) by Bird Thongchai
youtube
It's about two people who keep fighting about everything, and while they know that both parties care about each other and that the thing they fight over is just a small matter, they still want to win.
Very PatPran
เขียวกับแดง(Green and Red) by TaitosmitH
youtube
Red and green are OhmNanon fandom colors, and they did sing this song at an event or smt. I've now associated it with bbs fandom.
อย่าทำอย่างนี้ไม่ว่ากับใคร(Don't do this to anyone.) by Bird Thongchai (im Bird's fan, sue me)
youtube
a song about one-sided love that the one who has the feeling knows (thinks?) the other doesn't reciprocate but feels like if other people get treated like this they will probably misunderstand that the feeling is mutual and so they tell their crush not to treat someone who they don't like like that.
It's not that in line with PatPran's story, but I feel like Pran probably vibed with it before Pat cleared things up between them.
B Team by Marianas Trench
solely because of this edit below. Before this, I exclusively listened to the Nightcore ver lol. I discovered this song in my Nightcore and Vocaloid era, and I left it there until now.

Onward tagging:
I don't know who to tag lol. Anyone passes by and feels up to it, I guess.

Look, the whole "Chocolates situation" was an intelligent punishment planned by Fuji.
He was also watching the program and found out that Kikumaru was the winner and he was really happy for his friend. But the subject wasn't brought up in any of Seigaku's Gossip Club meetings.
You see, Fuji wasn't the president of the Gossip Club, but he was the most dangerous one. Besides, Eiji had seen no problem in forcing him to go on a date with Kurumi-chan just a few days ago, so it was time for *revenge*.
Because it was Eiji, one of his best friends, Fuji wouldn't go too hard on him.
When Oishi told him that his family had too many watermelons at home, he innocently said "Why don't you give some to Eiji? His family is big, I'm sure they would eat it well".
Then, when Inui was walking home with him, Fuji simply suggested that they should go to Eiji's house to give him the homework he "forgot".
From that point on, he trusted destiny: when you put two or more Seigaku's regulars in one place, it was always fun, to put it mildly.
Kaido, as always, showed up randomly, and they invited him in.
Oishi spotting the cake was a stroke of luck that he thanked the gods for. Oishi, soft, caring, trusting Oishi, immediately called Momo and Ryoma, and Fuji was trying to come up with a reason to call them for at least thirty minutes, so he was really satisfied with it. He wouldn't leave both of them out: Ryoma as his favorite kouhai and Momoshiro as the president of the Seigaku's Gossip Club.
The situation escalated to Momo's surprise birthday party and that was something his most detailed plan wouldn't be able to achieve, so he was grateful for Seigaku's chaotic energy.
When Ryoma asked if they had called Kawamura, well, everything was perfect.
Eiji confessed everything and Fuji put his best surprised face and tried not to laugh.
Of course, Inui taking Eiji's place wasn't in his plans. Eiji was one of his best friends and Fuji didn't want him to be sad. So he called the number of the production team (he always had a plan B, because things usually got out of control around Seigaku's regulars) and arranged the new meeting and even some extra pictures.
Eiji thanked everyone and right there Fuji opened his eyes and said "Saa, Eiji, next time you should tell us the truth, ne?"
A shiver ran through Kikumaru's body and he nodded so fast he got dizzy "Don't worry, Fujiko! I'll tell you, nya!"
He saw Ryoma smirking in the corner and his own lips twitched a little too.
"Fuji-senpai, you're really mean, you know"
"I don't know what you're talking, Echizen-kun."
"Anyway, everything got solved in the end, hm?
"Of course."
No one ever dared to keep things like that from the Gossip Club and mess with Fuji again. Unless it was to match him up with Ryoma, but that wasn't unwelcomed at all.

Non-show related but the Oishi baseball team >>>>
1. Literally, me...
2. Also I love how Ohm... drinks... the whole bottle before showing his potential while everyone watching makes this face 😒 waiting except for Claire who is painting her nails.
3.
"become a teacher they said, it'll be fun they said..."
4. Ohm: when an object is gone it's gone
Pom: Let me tell you about the laws of the conservation of matter.
5. LITERALLY CANNOT GET OVER HOW DONE POM LOOKS THROUGH THIS ENTIRE SCENE. Pang looks like he's having a great time; Pom seems like he's about 3 seconds from passing out.
6.
7. I find it INTERESTING how... um perceptive? Pang seems to be? Like he doesn't say anything about it but I know he notices things. Like when Ohm feels bad and brings Namtarn's pen back, he hears it reappear in Ohm's pencil box-- at least, I get the impression. Just an observation.
8. Poor Ohm and the bullying that Folk does to him. Like burning his arm with a hand dryer is pretty fucked.
9. I need to put these images together to not be over the limit but this is... HONESTLY... probably the best fucking scene in the entirety of the series (over exaggerating but... lmao)
10. Not that he's not a dick but I feel bad for Folk when they shave his head. This school has problems. Ms. Ladda's "this one deserves it" makes my skin crawl. I really do not like her at all.
11.
Ms. Ladda the Drama Llama. LIKE! It's pretty common knowledge to not tell the people getting in trouble who told on them UNLESS you want problems. She's like "fuck the gifted students!"
12. Also... watching Folk go off on Ohm like this is really rough. Do I condone making your classmate disappear into the ether? No. But also like did Folk kind of deserve it...? Maybe.
13. The fucking cinematography in this scene is top notch
14. His expression here is some damn good acting.
((on to part three at some point.))

No <3 I had this idea even before s2g aired but decided to wait so that I have more shots from s2g and I'm glad I did cause Earn basically got confirmed as a wlw so (Also special thanks to Terry cause the Man and Air hc were hers, her phd brain ikr) 3)This cause dcjsdjidi SARAWATINE SOULMATES. I love how the colouring turned out despite the fact that ps crashed halfway and I lost the gifs i spent 2 hours colouring. I tried to do this with scenes from the series only but couldn't cause wHen YoU aRe wItH yOuR cAmeRA SHOW US goddammit. If this was ao3 this would've been tagged as Tine teepakorn loves Sarawat guntithanon xD 4) Still2gether textposts obviously. I KNOW that 90% people follow me for my 2g shitposting and I got an ask once saying how were they so accurate and the reason for that is I spent HOURS on these. Atfirst it took a long time but after a while I got the hang of it. It was fun (though sometimes tiring) to make these after each ep aired. I'm proud of it and the fact that I managed to do 13 parts? gsjsdjsj 5) Still2gether subs that looks fake but aren't. shutup this was my first time giffing but it was funnnnn looking for the (canon) crack parts after every ep aired.
Also, thank you to all the lovely people who likes and reblogs my posts, I do see you and I love you all <33
Tagging: If you’re here then consider yourself tagged if you wanna do this or to anyone who sees this on the dash

“National Tournament Report” Tezuka and Fuji Version Part I
From Prince of Tennis OVA: National Tournament Arc, FAN DISK White heat Remix, translated by me. Part I is Tezuka and Fuji’s audio commentary on Momoshiro vs Oshitari match. Link to the audio is in the Content Source. :)
Tezuka: Fuji. Fuji: Hey, Tezuka! Sorry for making you come here when you’re so busy. Tezuka: My apologies, I was late since I was on the phone with Atobe. Fuji: Huh? Is the meeting between the captains supposed to be held today? Tezuka: It is. Fuji: You don’t need to go? Tezuka: I got Oishi to attend in my place. Besides, it’s more of a get-together than a meeting. Oishi’s better suited for those types of things. Fuji: That’s true. If you attended, you’d probably be still distant with everyone by the end of it. Tezuka: I’m just not good at social events. Fuji: What’s more, many of the other schools have captains with strong personalities. Tezuka: As long as Atobe’s there, the meeting should get off without a cinch. There should be no problems with my absence. Fuji: I wonder about that. He seems like the most finicky one out of all of them to me. Though he might make things more entertaining that way.
Tezuka: Enough about the meeting. More importantly, what exactly did you want to talk about? Fuji: Impatient as ever, aren’t you. Tezuka: You told me there was something you wanted to talk over again. I got curious. Fuji: Hm? Any idea what it’s about? Tezuka: No, not in particular. Not in particular, but if you have any problems, I can lend an ear. Fuji: ...Problems? Let me think… Now that you put it that way, I guess it is a problem. Tezuka: What is it? Tell me. Fuji: Well, I’ll tell you some other time. Anyway, there’s something I want you to see. Tezuka: What? Fuji: I actually found this at a nook in the clubroom. Look. Tezuka: Oh… This is the Nationals match with Hyotei? The matchup between Momoshiro and Oshitari. Fuji: It was very good, wasn’t it? This match. Tezuka: It was. The end results aside, it was quite the heated match. Fuji: Yeah, seeing Momo so fired up like that made me feel a little envious. Tezuka: So what about this piqued your interest? Fuji: Seems like Inui got someone to film this video for analysis. This is the edited version, but I found more tapes taken from different angles. Tezuka: I expected no less from him. Inui has quite the inquisitive mind. Fuji: Look! I also found this along the way. Tezuka: Hm? What’s that? Fuji: Inui’s Supplementary Analysis Notebook. It has Inui’s memos on every match. Tezuka: And you just found this by chance? I can’t imagine Inui carelessly leaving such an important notebook around in the clubroom. Fuji: How mean~ I only just happened to find it, I swear. Don’t you believe me? Tezuka: 'Just happened to'………….. Sure. Fuji: Anyway, Inui jotted down something like this about this match. Tezuka: Something like what? Fuji: “To prepare for the match with Hyotei, Momoshiro trained in the mountains with Kawamura. The two of them worked in tandem to procure food, with Momoshiro keeping a lookout for the fish’s movements and pointing it out, while Kawamura catches it in a show of strength.” Fuji: “As a result, his insight has gone up, and he also mastered how to sharply snap his wrist.” Tezuka: I see… Fuji: And apparently, the fish they caught during that time were used as ingredients for Kawamura Sushi. Tezuka: Is that information really necessary? Fuji: If it were freshwater fish, it would be chum salmon, or trout, I guess. Tezuka: I See. Fuji: Taka-san caught chum salmon with his bare hands. He’s like a bear! Tezuka: Mmm... To think the calm and collected Oshitari would be trembling with excitement.... Fuji: Chum salmon sushi tastes good when you grill it a little before eating, doesn’t it. It fills your mouth with its unique flavor, and... Tezuka: He’s gotten that absorbed into the game, huh… Looking back at things truly does give us some new perspective. Fuji: Tezuka… Are you listening to me? Tezuka: Yes, I am. You were talking about chum salmon, right? Fuji: Right. Well, if you say so… Tezuka: What’s wrong, Fuji? If you’re feeling unwell, head to the infirmary. Want me to go with you? Fuji: It’s nothing really, so don’t worry about it. Tezuka: I see… Okay then. Fuji: Alright, Momo’s match is almost over. I wonder who’s match we’ll see next. Tezuka: Yeah... Fuji: Speaking of which, you’re more talkative than usual today, Tezuka. Tezuka: Am I? I think I’m talking just as much as I usually do when I’m talking to you... Fuji: Are you? ....Then I guess it’s fine.

Spoilers of higu ahead. Read at your own risk if you haven't watched today's ep. Buckle up and probably grab a drink, this is a long one.
I still am not on board with the "Satoko is the mastermind" theory... but I do believe she has more awareness about this than the other people who have come to kill Rika. By now it's getting clear that the real culprit is manipulating other characters into delusions that can only be satisfied by killing Rika. No, "Never leave Hinamizawa and you'll be happy" isn't what Ryukishi himself is pushing onto us theough the narrative-- that's simply preposterous and is a myopic way of looking at his works, which have always been fairly layered in awareness. It's too reductive otherwise and completely forsakes every character's struggle if we handwave it as one of Rena's cultlike ramblings being true.
That is what the unseen culprit wants Rika to think, they want to traumatize and deceive her into a stockholm syndrome state and hold DEATH over her head if she steps out of line. Notice how after episode 16's last bad end, and Rika just decides to enjoy her day as a normal kid, everything seems to go perfectly fine because she hasn't concerned herself with the possibility of someone going crazy and dying. It's rather odd these things go so swimmingly (at least up until the cliffhanger) right after the most heartbreaking bad ending involving her own friend.
Saikoroshi-hen (OVA and VN) is rather similar: Rika must decide for herself what to do without Hanyuu, and she was worried more about getting back to the Matsuribayashi fragment but from a normal 'pure' fragment (Hanyuu also intentionally made her dream this all out while she was comatose). Rika decides to live out her last day with her friends and it comes and goes without a hitch... until she wakes back up in the hospital. Hanyuu concludes that the 'sin' inside Rika was finally purged.
Except in Gou, we're expecting something bad from Takano in 17... but I don't think she's still our enemy.
The Deceiver
Somebody who knows Oishi and all the villagers is able to 'trick' them into believing that they must kill everyone, especially Rika. This unknown person X feeds into their delusions that Rika knows everything or is in on the curse. In other cases, they appeal to their victim directly through their fear of Oyashiro-sama.
Rena thinks if she kills everyone and then lets herself be demoned away, her dad will be happy. X knows about Rena and her dad's situation.
Satoko is told that killing everyone and sacrificing Rika will ensure she won't leave the village. Note that she is the only HS patient they have who's recovered to sanity just before the lethal stage 5, and this is shown by her lack of bloodshot eyes and maniacal bloodthirst the others have exhibited. X knows that Satoko was overly dependent on Satoshi and now clings to Rika as the only person she has left. X knows Satoko has HS and used it to manipulate her into paranoia.
Oishi thinks Rika knows the truth behind the Watanagashi cases. Uncharacteristically has L5.
Akasaka thinks he's 'helping' Rika by killing her and then himself to get the maggots out of his throat.
Akane Sonozaki kills everyone including her daughter. My best guess is that the stuff about Onigafuchi and how the villagers all have demon's blood in them, Akane is cleansing the world of their filthy bloodline. As to why or how X does this is irrelevant since every new killer is totally OOC
Kimiyoshi also thinks he's saving Rika from a cursed world or whatever. I wasn't really paying attention because I myself got annoyed at this scene being so stupidly drawn out.
Mion/Shion (no I dont recall who is who by the end of it) thinks Rika is behind the mysterious murders, but is sane enough to try protecting Keiichi from whatever is trying to get her.
Keiichi literally becomes a fuckin demon. Idk how to explain that other than handwaving it as lolinsanity.
Invariably they all have a look of glee for doing what they're doing and it is completely out of character. But notice how much Satoko doesn't WANT to do this. She's crying and screaming how much she didn't want to do what she did, that X basically forced her hand (she even killed the other 4 just so nobody would stop her. How she could have done it is irrelevant ig). Clearly, someone who knows Satoko is the most cognizant at an L3/L4 state has been feeding her a delusion that only she can stop Rika from leaving Hinamizawa. That's what best friends do, they look out for each other even if said friend doesn't think you're helping them. Satoko even mentioning she's good at injections is a confirmation the Syndrome is 'real' in Gou's lore, meaning the Clinic's secret research is still canon.
Who is X?
We can look at it from both perspectives using Umineko logic.
X is a Human:
It's hard to say if Takano is still behind it-- she preferred carrying the ritual out herself when the supposed deaths and disappearances by Oyashiro-sama would happen. This time the dates are all over the place... Rika got spawn-killed on the 12th, definitely not the 3rd sunday of June. Plus, she and Tomitake on screen always seemingly disappear and never come back... but they are never found dead, they just are totally uninvolved with most of the fragments or turn up missing and Oishi seeks them out as though they are persons of interest. In fact, she might just be the 2nd looper who got caught in the middle-- the flashback to the end of Festival Accompaniment Arc in ep16 might be hinting at her getting a potential redemption arc.
Yes, I know, she killed Rika and friends but think about it. She as a child was no different than Rika-- all these bad things happened to her and she didn't know why, she hated being alone so much she didn't even care if lightning struck her to kill her. Takano's villainy is a product of her very tumultuous childhood where she had an earnest and innocent wish to honor her adoptive grandfather... somewhere down the line as she grew, she lost the ability to feel at odds with the ethics of what she was doing. Because she'd gone through so much unfairness in life, as an adult she shrugs off what she does as "well, life's not fair and other people have done worse than me in the name of science". But even as well written as it is, plenty of people who are survivors of abuse or were orphaned typically don't become serial killers with a delusional sense of grandeur. so I wouldn't be surprised if Ryukishi wanted to use Gou as a redemption arc for Takano (as Gou means 'Karma', it would be pretty thematic I think). She and Rika did literally nothing to deserve what they were dealt. there have also been other fragments where Takano didn't kill Rika herself or the great Hinamizawa Disaster didn't occur: see Onikakushi, Watanagashi, Meakashi, and most of the 'damashi' arcs in Gou where Keiichi survived with Rena or Mion as another survivor.
X is not a Human/Witches theory:
Takano may only be a villain when the Witch(es) want her to be. Unlike in Umineko where everyone on the island is killed regardless of the order, Hinamizawa's outcomes are not always perfectly consistent. In this context, there are a few fragments that aren't much more than a variety of bad ending in a typical visual novel. The Hinamizawa Disaster, however, can have plenty of forgeries where the order of deaths don't matter since everyone is killed or only 1 person is a survivor and they either go crazy or we get an entirely different future arc.
Evil Adult-sized Hanyuu (not Featherine) isn't impossible I guess but that wouldn't make sense. In fact, it seems sort of implied Rika hasn't seen Hanyuu in years when she comments about not getting to share a drink with her like old times. In Saikoroshi, Hanyuu said that a world without her likely meant that she was satisfied with it and ascended to the land where other gods would be.
Rika may have been killed before being sent back in time, but it's just as possible a godlike being actually transported her. Remnant Hanyuu spoke as if Rika was 'allowed' to grow up a bit only for the sake of recovering her heart-- as if someone was intending on throwing her back into the loops anyway.
I don't think Hanyuu is the mastermind either. I do believe she is Featherine's piece rather than Featherine herself though. But that does dig up a lot of Umineko-logic questions I'm unable to provide answers for... such as WHAT IS THE FUCKING LOGIC ERROR and IS RIKA ACTUALLY FEATHERINE'S METAWORLD READER WHO HAD HER MEMORY WIPED (total tinfoil theory)
Thats enough rambles for today. Told you it was long. Lol
