"I can't believe you're keeping me company." Dani flips the camera to show Justin with her.

"Yeah yeah yeah." He tries to hide his face with his phone.

"Alrighty, so the other three are out with their mom so Justin is spending time with me. I feel so special since he talks to me the least since we got here." Dani turns the camera to face herself.

"Liar,"

"Sorta," She smiles then records him again.

"You act like an annoying younger sister." He looks at his phone making her aww, "Hush!" He puts his phone down turning away from her.

Dani puts the camera down to film herself again, "Guys, I promise Justin likes me. He's just acting like he doesn't. Don't take him seriously. But he's right, I've been like an annoying sister lately." She films Justin again, "Tell them you like me."

"No," He shakes his head eating his chips.

"Off camera says different." She moves to film herself with him in the background before just showing him alone again, "Right? Right? Right?"

"I won't admit it."

Dani rolls her eyes with a smile, "He loves me like his brothers and parents do." She then gives him a look so he closes his eyes in order not to see her, "If he didn't he wouldn't be in here with me."

"No,"

"If that's the case you can leave. No one is keeping you hostage in here with me. And you can't say that I am because you walked in here without me asking." She adds making him laugh covering his face, "Fine, just hurt my feelings."

"Fine, I like you like everyone else in my family does." He admits it for her to show viewers. She props the phone up before rushing to hug him making him playful groan as she clings to him, "I didn't ask for a new annoying sibling!"

"Too bad so sad." She laughs at him so he grabs her starting to tickle her which she hates since she was super ticklish. "Ok, I'm sorry. I'm sorry Justin! Stop please!" She squeals trying to fight him off as he laughs at her.

"No, it's my turn to get back at you."

"Jimmy help me!" Dani yells for him and he takes his time then sees the two playing around.

"No matter how old y'all get your still kids deep down when it comes to sibling like flights." He leaves the room making Justin laugh more as Dani shouts don't leave her like that.

"So we went out for dinner as a family earlier." Nick starts their car video.

"Here we go." Chris laughs since it's been talked about since dinner.

"Dad only got Dani dessert!" Nick shouts still annoyed.

"And mom was on board with that and not asking us three. We're their children but not when Dani is here." Chris adds butt hurt as well.

"Literally, Dani rubbed it in our faces." Matt agrees, "All the way home and talked about how delicious it was."

"I'm mad at them." Chris shakes his head.

"I'm mad at Dani." Matt says as his voice cracks so Chris asks if he's good.

"Dani is officially the daughter they never had." Nick states, "Dani is their favorite child."

"Ooo, How do you think I feel?!" Chris playful gets mad clinching his fists as Nick gets a text from Dani, who decide to stay at the house.

"You're no longer the baby since she's the youngest. Also Dani beat dad at a game of pool." Nick reads the text she sent.

"He lost to Dani?" Chris was taken back, "She just started playing since we got here before it was just on the phone. How is that possible?"

"This is all your fault Nick." Matt looks back at him.

"My fault?" Nick says confused, "You invited her to move in with us."

"But you two had to friends before we collabed with Sam and Colby." Matt points out.

"You didn't have to become friends with her as well. So don't blame me." Nick shakes his finger around, "No one forced you to become friends with her. That was all you."

As soon as the three get home they ask their dad did Dani really beat him at pool and he tells them yes clearly upset he lost to her but he was proud in Dani at the same time.

"How is that even possible? You let her win." Chris tells his dad, who laughs.

"Trust me he didn't just let me win. He threw a little tantrum when he realized I was gonna win. Ask your mom." Dani smiles patting Jimmy on the back.

"I swear he had tears forming in his eyes." Mary Lou tells her boys, "He yelled too."

"Hey, they were proud tears. I was proud of my little girl." Jimmy hugs Dani making her laugh as the boys jaws drop.

"She's not even your child!" Chris shouts, "Dani lets fight come on. You can't take my title of being the baby in the family. Come on." Chris gets ready to fight her.

Dani leaves Jimmy's side walking over to Chris, "Alright, lets do this." She stretches her arms so he goes to tackle her and they end up on the floor playfully wrestling while everyone watches them.

Matt and Nick cheer from Chris while their parents cheer for Dani causing Chris to be distracted so Dani pins him down winning, "It's my title now." Dani jumps up putting her hand out for him.

"Don't be nice after beating me and taking my parents away from me." Chris glares at her so his mom walks over giving him a hug, "No, mom. You don't love me anymore." He whines.

"You're still my little boy."

"But Dani is your favorite." Matt speaks up so Dani makes a face at him, "You're asking for it missy." He points his finger at her.

"Aww, is Matty jealous of me too?" She baby talks to him, "It's all your fault all this is even happening, pretty boy." She smiles so he chases after her and she runs away from him laughing.

Nick watched his parents eyes follow the two around laughing at them while telling Dani to run faster, "This is really my fault." He plops onto the couch talking to himself.

As he watches Chris help Matt catch Dani then his parents jump in to help her, he can't help but smile. Dani was really part of the family and he loved it deep down. He's always seen Dani as a sister and now she basically is.

A couple of days ago Dani even told him she felt more comfortable with his family than her own. She explained that when her whole family gets together it's way different from theirs. Her family was close but not this close. Dani said she always felt like a disappointment in her family because her brothers did more than she did. Colby had his YouTube career and his brand. Gage was at life doing his little things along with a little band.

Nick has told her she wasn't a disappointment because she had a little modeling career and was working on a little brand of her own but she still felt less than her brothers. He even told her why doesn't she talk to her parents about how she feels but she told them they don't really listen at times nor do her brothers. That's why she felt at home with the boys because they could tell when she was down compared to her family.

Day 221

The entire duration of his flight to Iraq, Sy attempted to entertain himself with a book. Of course, immersing yourself in a fictional fantasy universe was a little harder when you were sitting in a C-130 surrounded by a bunch of fellow soldiers who carry guns rather than riding through a forest on horseback and wielding a sword. And no fantasy world was exciting enough to distract from the pain of being torn away from the person you love.

Okay, maybe ‘torn away’ was a bit dramatic but that was how it felt. Sy had a newfound understanding of why his sisters had been so insufferable after their first heartbreaks back in high school. He did not have the emotional intelligence to deal with his current predicament.

And it had only been five days.

Closing the book, Sy dug the newly purchased hardcover journal from his pack instead. It wasn’t always possible to have their phones when they were out on ops, for obvious reasons, so he’d decided he would use the journal to write down the things he would want to say to Leah. On the inside of the front cover, he had taped a copy of the drawing Leah had given him. The original he’d left safely back in the States where it wouldn’t risk getting blown up.

Turning the page, he read over the first entry in the journal. 

Dear L,

I know I already sent you a message thanking you for the drawing but a text doesn’t feel good enough for the amount of work you no doubt put into making it. It feels even more inadequate with how we parted ways. Letting you walk away, knowing I was the one who put that look on your face, was the hardest thing I ever had to do. I can only hope you’ll allow me to spend my life making up for it.

It felt like yet another betrayal not to call her by her full name but it was too risky. If something happened and someone tried to return his belongings they might start asking questions. It was also the reason he hadn’t already made Leah his phone background.

She’d grumbled every time he tried to take pictures of her but he’d managed to sneak in a few shots while she wasn’t looking. He did notice that she was much less likely to protest if he was in the shot with her so he’d taken more pictures of himself in ten days than he had in ten years.

Soon, they were landing in Iraq and Sy was in the front seat of a humvee on his way back to Warhorse. This time however, it was only a short stay. He was meeting with the captain who had taken over during his leave to do a more formal handoff of the tasks and responsibilities now that he knew it was a permanent change of command.

“Welcome back, Major Syverson.”

“Thank you.” The handshake the other man offered was pointlessly strong, even just shy of painful. Sy didn’t have the patience for intimidation games, he just wanted to do what he needed to do and get the hell out. “Is there any particular reason the locals are out there yellin’ at us?” 

“You know them hajis, they’re never happy.”

Sy bristled at the choice of words. “They may not be particularly happy to have Americans in their country but when I left the locals were not demandin’ our heads on a stake.”

The man shrugged him off, turning to walk back inside.

“They’re just mad at us for dealing with a couple of troublemakers. God forbid they show a hint of gratitude to us for cleaning up this shit stain on a map. That would be a betrayal of their beliefs.”

The bullshit coming out of Captain Dickhead’s mouth didn’t wane once the entire time they spoke in Sy’s office. Well, Captain Dickhead’s office. He made it very clear that he thought Sy had been too soft on the locals and too hard on his soldiers. How dare he write them up for innocent teasing.

Sy was relieved when they finally called it a day and went out to chow. Looking around the mess hall, Sy noticed something missing.

“Where’s Aika?”

Captain Dickhead fell heavily into his chair. “Who?”

“Aika. You know, the green german shepherd that roams around the base.”

“That mutt had a name? All I know is that I checked and there were no K9 units out here so I told one of the boys to put it outside the gates where it belonged. Told him that if he put it out of its misery while he was at it, there would be no skin off my nose.”

Sy felt the blood drain from his face. As furious as he was, he couldn’t say a thing. He technically didn’t do anything wrong.

Aside from being a supreme asshole.

Aika was a stray and keeping her on base gave the extra burden of another mouth to feed—although she usually survived by taking a single bite of food from each soldier on base—but her presence was like a small flame in a dark, windowless room.

It might have been best that Sy hadn’t been the one to put her out or leave her behind but… He wished he had at least been able to give her a final goodbye.

The sound of the chopper was loud even through the earplugs Leah wore. She kept her eyes on Benjie as she waited for his signal while running through her mental safety checklist. On Benjie’s go ahead, she lept backwards and fell.

Once her feet hit the roof below, she unclipped herself and followed the others towards the door leading into the building. They fired at the stand-ins holding guns and ‘rescued’ the ones playing friendlies. By the time they had cleared the building, Leah was panting hard.

The adrenaline was still pumping through her veins as the team clapped each other on the back and waited for their score. The exercise had been made to test speed over strategy so Leah was ninety-nine point nine percent sure they had passed but it was impossible to judge time when you were in the thick of it.

In their first runs of the course, Ethan had taken to humming the S.W.A.T. theme song under his breath which gave a vague sense of how much time had passed but he’d stopped when someone pointed out that they were supposed to be in stealth mode. To Leah’s great dismay, it had actually caught on during exercises where they weren’t required to be silent and now people kept pointing out all the ways she and Michelle Rodriguez’s character from the 2003 movie were alike. Which led to them pointing out the similarities between Leah and all the other characters Michelle Rodriguez had played. It was possible they meant it as a compliment but considering half her characters died horrible, violent deaths, she wasn’t inclined to take it that way. 

The past few days in Arizona had been dedicated to what Jer affectionately referred to as ‘voluntarily falling out of flying objects’. Though he’d agreed to participate in the MFF course, this was far from his favorite part of the job. For now at least. He did a good job of keeping his nerves invisible to the outside eye so perhaps it would eventually grow on him.

Leah, on the other hand, one would think she had a death wish by the way excitement built in her body every single time she prepared for a jump.

Whenever they were doing a drill, Leah had total focus but, when they had gone through the refresher course, her mind had wandered to a certain set of piercing blue eyes. She could prepare the ropes and harness in her sleep so it hadn’t caused any catastrophic accidents but she would need to get her head on straight before they moved on to actually parachuting out of a plane.

Now that she and the guys were taking their gear off for the day, Leah got lost in thought again, only giving a hum of acknowledgement here or there as the others chatted.

After spending the morning in the wind tunnels and the afternoon doing drills, she was exhausted and ready for some food, sleep and a much needed shower. Not necessarily in that order. 

“I can’t remember the last time my muscles ached this much,” Ethan said as she joined them in the mess hall after cleaning up in her room.

“I know, I never skip leg day but no one prepared me for the amount of effort it would take to keep that arch.” Jer stretched his back with a wince.

“Maybe next time you make a girl stick her ass out while you’re backshotting her, you’ll have the decency to make her cum as a thank you,” Leah deadpanned, taking a giant bite out of her burger.

The boys guffawed while Jer tossed a fry which hit Leah square in the chest. “You spend a lot of time getting backshotted, Coleman? Is that why you’re the only one not complaining?”

“Nope”. She swallowed, washing down her bite with some water. “I’m just used to having to hold all sorts of bendy positions. Usually while dangling upside down and spinning in circles.”

While it was true that her experience with aerial arts helped her hold the position in the tunnels, it didn’t mean she wasn’t sore all over like the rest of them. She simply didn’t dare give the slightest hint that she found their training challenging. Even if the guys wouldn’t hold it against her, it didn’t mean any of the others never would.

More than once she’d been called on to answer questions or be the first to try one of the training exercises. Luckily, she’d managed not to make a complete fool of herself in the short time they’d been there. She just hoped it would stay that way as things continued to get more difficult because she really wanted to succeed.

Day 206

Leah couldn’t spend two weeks doing cutesy couple’s stuff. Cooking together and making a giant mess, ordering takeout instead, hand-feeding one another said takeout food. Okay, maybe those things only happened in movies but the idea of spending their time cooped up in honeymoon phase isolation made her skin itch.

It wasn’t that Sy minded going out, he just didn’t want Leah to feel obligated to come up with activities to fill their days. He wanted to get to know the real Leah, not the version of her where she attempted to act like the perfect host.

When she offered to take Sy out on her favorite hiking trails, there was no way he was going to say no. Leah had spent her childhood on the trails, what better way to get to know the real her?

She’d also managed to convince him to do some rock-climbing while they were there. Actually, she convinced him to hike up a section of the mountain, rappel down the side using a fixed anchor in the rock, then climb back up again. Sy had only trained in how to rappel off the sides of buildings, not climb rock faces, but he managed not to embarrass himself. Much.

He’d panicked the first time he’d slipped and caused Leah to lift off the ground but she’d just laughed it off as if being yanked six feet in the air was part of the fun. To be fair, to her, it probably was. Luckily, some other climbers had come along and were able to belay her so she could take a turn. He remembered the basics but he hadn’t done it in years and he was not going to take chances with Leah’s safety.

As he watched her gracefully scale the wall—yes, he’d just called her climbing graceful—he determined that it was the right thing to do. Leah wore leggings that fit like a second skin and the harness framed her ass in a way that made Sy want to blindfold the two other witnesses. He would definitely not have trusted himself with Leah’s safety with that much of a distraction right in front of him.

“Okay, this is obviously way too easy for you,” one of the climbers said as Leah came down. She’d finished the climb in one go, barely breaking a sweat. “Why don’t you guys come out and do some of the harder pitches?”

“That’s okay.” Leah unclipped herself from the harness and proceeded to pull her rope down. “I haven’t been out here in forever, I’m not shooting for a personal record. I was just showing my boyfriend what I love about Colorado.”

“Why not?” Sy asked, drawing the others’ attention. “We’re here now and we won’t be back in the country for a while. Might as well have fun while we can.”

Leah gave him a bright smile, skipping over to plant a kiss on his cheek. They spent another few hours in the park after hiking over to the other rock face which had harder pitches. Sy managed to muscle his way up one that had larger holds while Leah swapped her running shoes for talon-shaped ‘torture devices’—her words—to climb some of the sections where she had to clip the rope as she went. Once they were both tired, they said goodbye to the other pair and found a quiet spot to settle down and have a late lunch. 

While Leah was looking out at the horizon, a contented look on her face, Sy pulled out his phone and took a picture of her from over her shoulder. The sun was hitting her just right and the scenery behind her was incredible but as soon as she saw him taking pictures, she angled her face down and away.

“No you don’t, come here.”

Sliding a hand under her legs, he pulled her onto his lap and wrapped an arm around her front. Sy lifted his phone once again, this time taking a series of selfies of the both of them. Leah rolled her eyes but stopped protesting, instead leaning back into Sy’s embrace.

She submitted to a few more pictures before turning around and diverting his attention with a kiss. After one final picture, Sy abandoned the phone in favor of wrapping Leah’s ponytail around his fist and deepening the kiss.

As much as he wanted something to remember that moment by, the taste of Leah’s lips would win out every time.

Chapter 26

Baxter: *texts you a photo of formalwear before a big event* How would you feel about something like this?

You: Don't you have a job?

-- Cove is showing up on that red carpet with half the buttons on his shirt undone. That's his style. Why? I don't know. Let him live.

-- Derek gets one nice suit to wear to events. That's his fancy suit, he only needs one, he doesn't want to be TOO fancy when you're the star of the show.

-- If you're at some awards show and you win, then Cove is too shy to give you a kiss but if you thank him in your speech then he will cry and the video will go viral because it's that sweet.

-- Derek is your hype man. The first time he goes to an event, he might stand up and scream like he's at a sports game whenever you perform/go on stage. That's just instinct.

-- Baxter will kiss you anywhere. If you win an award, he'll quickly make sure your outfit is in place properly before sending you off.

-- If you're a singer, Cove has all your albums. If you're an actress, he has everything you've ever been in. He is your biggest fan.

-- Derek is also your biggest fan. He wears your merch to the gym and if someone asks him about it, well, why don't they pull up a chair so he can brag for hours.

-- Baxter -- surprise! -- also your biggest fan. He may or may not have some alt accounts online so he can destroy anyone who says anything negative about you. If you're in the film industry, he's going to be editing your personal details on your imdb page.

-- He might be a little jerk about it but he'll change it back if you get genuinely upset.

-- You'll have to travel from time to time, either for music tours or press tours. Cove wants to come with you so bad and he might rearrange his life so he can.

-- Derek is going to be checking in on you constantly, making sure you're taking care of yourself. He'll come visit, especially if you tell him you miss him too much.

-- Baxter loves planning weddings, but he would also make a good business manager. I don't think he would, I'd think he'd stick with weddings, but he does have a business background and so he's going to be in your business.

-- If you have to kiss someone in a music video or in a movie or something, Cove isn't gonna love it. He's not going to say anything and it's not like he thinks there's anything behind it at all, he just doesn't like it. He'll even try not to pout because he doesn't want you to feel bad. It's ok, he can just call Cliff and complain about it.

-- Derek doesn't care, you're just working! Do your best, it's ok! Go team!

-- Baxter will tease you about it, but depending on how soon after your reunion it happens he'll be a little sad and insecure on the inside. He will never ever show it though.

i feel like ive just gotten baited into sending one of those "WAIT, KIRBY HAS DEEP LORE!?" asks but please tell me about the magolor christian themes

HELLO. ok it is 2am so i will do the best i can. if this answer is utterly incoherent, blame that.

magolor's whole christian thing has been around since his concept art, which ensured that his design had notable yellow highlights as a nod to the color used to represent judas in classical christian art. (his ears were also originally going to be horns, so there could be some devil stuff there if you squint.)

this doesn't mean much if you only look at return to dreamland 2011. it's simply a clever, blink-and-you'll-miss-it piece of his character design that ties with the fact that he betrays kirby. some fans also found this funny regarding his symbolic link to apples, which he uses as bombs or. uh. microtransaction materials. lol.

however, once return to dreamland deluxe came out in 2023, the game dropped a MASSIVE bomb of their own by providing us with a new, post-game epilogue for magolor. spoilers ahead, obviously. via the epilogue, magolor's link to apples is explored in-depth by putting him through trials where he must collect 5 fruit (apple) fragments, which a game screen implies parallel the fact that magolor tricked kirby into collecting the 5 parts of the lor starcutter. that's essentially his "penance" process.

when magolor finished rebuilding the apple, which is known as the "ethereal alter" in english and the very unsubtle "room of eden" in japanese. the master crown that magolor had betrayed kirby for and stolen from its place on halcandra became a massive gem apple tree final boss. however, the tree itself is not listed as the boss--instead he is fighting the master crown itself.

he ultimately destroys the master crown, which had taken the form of the "forbidden fruit" that had tempted magolor into hurting people, including those he had come to genuinely deem friends, for the sake of obtaining personal power. the gem apple being constructed in the "room of eden" is enough on its own to build a base for a christian theme, but magolor's arc of redeption through either 1. trial and repentance (main gamemode with magolor epilogue; self-imposed; successful) 2. outside aid (extra mode + true arena; extended by kirby; failed) is what allows the christian imagery to shine.

however, his christian imagery chronologically extends past the return to dreamland deluxe epilogue, as that same epilogue confirmed that "microtransagolor" (the green magolor from kirby clash deluxe) is the same magolor from return to dreamland. he nurtures the gem apple seed which he obtained after defeating the master crown in that game. clash deluxe also introduces us to a weekly "magolor day," which, you guessed it, is on sunday, with the first of them occuring on an easter.

the major reason why i connect magolor to christianity in particular rather than all abrahamic religions is the judas connection, the easter sunday thing, and the process through which he repents or "must atone for his misdeeds." while genesis isn't exclusive to christianity, the specific actions which magolor takes along his path of betrayal and redeption mirror make more sense to me as a christian moral tale rather than judaic or islamic for some reason. not sure why, i'd have to unpack that elsewhere.

this isn't to say that kirby is indoctrinating children into christianity or whatever ofc. considering the whole hyness and mage sisters deal in star allies, the connection between kirby and religion as a whole isn't always a positive one. nintendo also tends to avoid real life religions and references to them as a whole in their games likely to avoid controversy and to make their games accessible and understandable to a worldwide audience with a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. that last point is WHY i find it super crazy that magolor has an obviously and intentionally christian narrative.

(also, for the books, i'm not catholic. but 4 years of catholic school and one very catholic grandmother gives me just enough background on the topic to relate it to kirby)

i made these two loading screens quite a while ago (like.. 1-2 years ago lol) but i've only ever shared them in a few places on discord. i ended up realizing today that i could upload them for download now that i use tumblr, so here you go! (previews taken without reshade, of course!)

In TGWDLM, they were inside the theatre when the meteor landed. Due to that, part of the roof collapsed and pinned their legs underneath rubble. However, with the initial adrenaline kicking in, they were able to get themselves free -undoubtedly with broken legs-and drag themselves to a phone to call for medical help.

He was taken to the hospital, but that mere initial proximity to the meteor was enough for them to pick up a mild cough; being found the next morning reporting no pain and sat up in her hospital bed humming a certain familiar tune.

Later on, Link’s found singing bits and pieces of Mama Mia as all they ever wanted was their family to be seen-and they couldn’t even do that themselves, hiding in the wings rather than under the spotlight.

In Black Friday, Link planned to just stay home and do some online shopping, but encountered the online discourse about the Wigglys. They inevitably ordered one, despite it being backed up until potentially ‘ next Christmas ‘ with the idea in mind that their kid-sibling would probably love to have a Wiggly.

Until eventually going out later that evening —upon hearing the jingle being played on the television a dozen times over and getting impatient at the fact that they couldn’t wait for the gift to come, or her sibling wouldn’t either.

In Nerdy Prudes Must Die, they’re very much in the background of the hectic blame-game that Hatchetfield spirals into. They aren’t in highschool nor were ever really into sports, so the death of the beloved Maxwell Jägerman and mascot, Richie Lipschitz came as an unaware shock at first.

But hearing so many people accusing other people on what and what-not they couldn’t of done to attribute to the deaths, even close neighbours, made them paranoid enough to stay inside and even contemplating taking a extended stay in Clivesdale to get away from it all.

I may post a full thing of headcanons later tbh idk yet

I played two games of Mario Party 9 not too long ago + a minigame mode!

First time through, I played as Bobby (Peach) with Hoppy, Kickin, and Picky (Daisy, Wario, and Birdo respectively). Kickin chose the board most likely (it was Blooper Beach anyways). So basically some interesting notes I picked up from that + potential hcs...

Kickin seems like he would be pretty good with minigames that require some skill. Bro literally got a perfect strike in Goomba Bowling. Funny enough, Picky also got a strike there- (she was determined ig). Ngl, Hoppy only got 13 points there, but I feel like she might've done better with that minigame (taking account the events that DID happen though, she probably was a little salty Kickin and Picky got it with that much ease-). Meanwhile Bobby didn't get any points. She tried copying what Kickin and Picky did, but... it didn't quite work out for her T^T

Okay, when it came to that and the previous minigame Player Conveyor, it made me think that Bobby isn't the best with certain minigames compared to others. She managed to get better in this round after the mini boss with Lakitu, though. (She struggled with that a little in the beginning but has pretty much gotten the hang of things by the time he was all mad and stuff-)

At one point, Kickin landed everyone on a 1v3 space and he picked the minigame Mob Sleds. I feel like, talking about characters here, he picked that thinking he wasn't going to get caught. But no joke- LITERALLY AT THE LAST SECOND BOBBY GOT TO HIM- Hoppy just dying laughing in the background and teasing Kickin when that happened. Picky was probably like, "Oh damn..." and Kickin is just sitting there with his jaw dropped like- "HOW?? HOW?!?!" (his ego got crushed there lol) Also, made me realize those Wario poses are literally him 💀

By this point, Bobby has gotten a better hang of the minigames. She was likely more desperate to try to catch up at least since she was in last originally- The others are impressed but also probably like "Oh, now it is on!" with her lol (if we're talking character here, she may not be so desperate to the point she would make everyone else get in the path of Mini Ztars, which I feel bad about btw because that's literally what I made her do and then I was thinking back about that decision and made me realize that Bobby would've just taken the Mini Ztars for the party's benefit T^T Ig the excuse I could put here would be that she was desperate because she kept falling behind before)

She still didn't do THAT good with all the minigames though. Particularly Upward Mobility (she wasn't as fast with it as the others were; partially due to my own inability to win that minigame lmao). I think she also does the memory related ones well. She wouldn't have THAT good of a memory as Bubba ofc, but she did good in minigames such as Plunder Ground.

Btw, not only is Bobby a total tild card in the minigames, but she is also pretty much the group's savior. The second the event happened where Mini Ztars were filling the board she just happened to get the right number needed to reverse them back to Mini Stars. The group was probably relieved as heck when that happened-

HOPPY'S MINIGAME SHOWED UP AT ONE POINT :)) Unfortunately she didn't win though 😔 (she definitely would win that more going by character though) Kickin and Picky were neck and neck by the end, and Picky ended up beating him. He was pretty salty about that since he was sure he would win now that Hoppy's rocket fell behind (his ego recovered in that gap between Mob Sleds and Launch Break ig and now it cracked again lol). Bobby did lose ten mini stars from getting 4th this time tho since they got Launch Break through a Fire Bro battle minigame... (this is weird cuz like, you want to feel bad because she keeps getting the short end of the stick when she doesn't win. She got fourth in quite a few of the minigames where she didn't get first, but like- she's also doing very well with them at the same time 😶 She literally kept swapping between receiving 1st and 4th with BARELY an in between- Talking character though, I feel like she'd be more likely to get like 2nd or 3rd in minigames. When she loses though, OH BOY SHE LOSES-

By the homestretch, the party was getting more into the Bowser Spaces (not AS frequently as that one experience that was mentioned for a different round but it was still a lot). Mainly Kickin kept getting those spaces, and let's just say... my dude's got LUCKY with those! 2 times out of 3 he landed on giving mini stars to last place, but the thing is... HE IS IN LAST PLACE LMAO. HE JUST KEPT RECEIVING MINI STARS FROM BOWSER. Even in the one time Kickin didn't get that in the Bowser Roulette he still didn't lose Mini Stars. There was a reverse mini game at one point (Thwomper Room) and he WON. By that point, Kickin was just joking like- "BOWSER SURE LOVES ME TODAY". Hoppy and Picky were just rolling their eyes. Bobby in the background just listening but also being sad that she didn't get out first (she and Kickin got hurt by the thwomp around the same time, but Kickin seemed to have gotten to it a frame before she did TvT' Also ig the excuse for Bobby wanting to get out here is that she couldn't imagine the others getting hurt by the Thwomps lol- The others would be like "Sure sure..." She can be mean against them if she wants to, but probably wouldn't be so mean to the point that they can't recover).

Also thought it'd be funny to mention that during the homestretch, Bobby just to happened to get the lucky space TWICE that led the party to the star island, but Picky was always the one that won all the Mini Stars at the end. She really did get lucky there- After this point, most likely everyone was certain Picky was going to win considering where she stood between the rest of the party, so they started to get a bit tense about that I think lol.

Near the end with the Bonus Stars, I genuinely thought Picky was going to win the Minigame Star since she kept getting first in many minigames. I guess I didn't keep track of how often she did, tho- Bobby still won it despite how many times she got 4th in some of them (she has really gotten better near the end ig). Speaking of Bobby and Picky, Picky had a LOT of Mini Stars in general, but because of Bobby landing on the Boss Battle space, receiving first place from Wiggler AND the captain bonus, I'm pretty sure that was the upper hand she needed cuz SHE WON!! Nobody was mad completely though since she was getting kind of screwed during the rounds. Though I can imagine Hoppy used what Kickin said earlier about Bowser loving him to her advantage though since he ended in 4th lol. Hoppy herself got 3rd (she was a little salty about that since she thought she'd do better, especially with the minigames but they were surprisingly not her strong suit this time. Kickin probably tried to tease her back about that lol). Meanwhile, Picky was just proud of Bobby for winning, though deep down kinda sad because she thought for sure she would win ;v; Bobby beat her by ONE mini star lol. For context, Bobby got 71 Mini Stars, Picky got 70, Hoppy got 53, and Kickin got 46.

Alr, second time through, I decided to play as CatNap (Shy Guy) with DogDay (Toad), CraftyCorn (Yoshi), and Bubba (Koopa). The board chosen was Toad Road since two out of the four Critters in that round (DogDay and CraftyCorn as was mentioned before) have that as their favorite. So what happened here that could be potential hcs? Well...

Not TOO much happened at the very beginning. Though at 10 to Win, I can imagine Bubba was absolutely trying his hardest to remember where every single card was despite how scrambled they all were. He didn't do too badly, but some of the cards were mainly ones he didn't want to get completely. CatNap's the opposite I imagine. He just chooses whatever seems right. That didn't work too well for him in this round, though (he got last ;-;) Crafty kept getting cards that supported everyone from what I remember (probably relieved her to know she could've gotten worse than she did). Pretty sure DogDay mostly won because of the cards the others chose (like a 1st card Bubba ended up getting at some point, DogDay was in 1st at the time and I can imagine Bubba just facepalmed when he did that-)

Just want to mention that Shy Guy's fourth place animation did make me think of CatNap, though I feel like if CatNap showed how he'd react to last place, he would just sleep away his sorrows if he got last lol

Speaking of CatNap, I feel like he's a menace in Mario Party. Like, anywhere else he's pretty chill, but make him play a game? Oh, it's like there's another side of him sorta- (he still keeps his laid back energy but he's clearly having fun against the party) Mainly thought of that because of him getting a 1v3 minigame (Spike-n-Span) and he pretty much wasn't holding back. He got EVERYONE.

I guess Bubba learned about how easy it was for CatNap to win that minigame because literally when he landed on a 1v3 space himself, HE CHOSE THAT SAME MINIGAME- He probably leeches off of the experiences he witnesses in the game and uses what he has seen to his advantage (it doesn't help for the others that Bubba has really good memory so he would probably know what to do to win; this could go for Mario Party in general tbh). Unfortunately, Bubba lost the minigame that time- Ironically enough tho, CatNap got out first lol

Every time the party kept getting Bowser Jr spaces, it was because of DogDay. I find it funny that Bowser Jr always paired him with CatNap tho (probably bc of him being first player tbf tho). First Bowser Jr minigame they played together wasn't so good. They played Sand Trap, and CatNap was a little confused on what to do. DogDay wasn't faring much better though. I feel like he was mainly waiting to see what CatNap was planning so he took his time. When they lost that one, I feel a part of CatNap was probably thinking "If we go down then we go down together :>" but another part of him felt bad because he legit had no idea what he was doing. DogDay was likely assuring him after that, hopeful that they'd win against Bowser Jr again next time. Sure enough, when DogDay landed on another Bowser Jr space, they did :) That minigame was Double Pounder. The instructions were easier for them to understand by that point. CatNap didn't really mind that DogDay got Mini Stars too that time (pretty sure DogDay wasn't in first by that point from what I remember). DogDay was just happy the two were able to win together. Probably gave CatNap a small hug after that. (Meanwhile Bobby in the background is just going: AWWWWWW 🥹🥹)

Oh yeah, Crafty was just chilling with her first place status in the first half too. She had about 33 mini stars during that point. She's not exactly planning on bragging about her status. She was just internally hoping she wouldn't get destroyed later TvT (she got this ahead because of a lucky space she landed on where climbed up a vine and got all the mini stars in that area- 12 MINI STARS) At some point, CatNap was catching up to her in terms of Mini Stars so there likely was some tension by that point. Crafty is just scared but at the same time defensive about her stars. Meanwhile CatNap was probably just silently hoping something happens to her stars and that he can get ahead-

This especially shows when Crafty got the Captain event. She legit chose CatNap to go last 💀 She was hoping it would be less likely for him to get the stars at the end if he was last. For more context, she chose Bubba to go first, then either herself or DogDay, but considering she was still in first, I think she was thinking that she could get the Mini Stars if she rolled high enough, so she would've needed to be the third person to do that- Unfortunately, Crafty's ploy didn't go too well. CatNap STILL got the stars at the end. Pretty sure that made them even in Mini Stars by that point-

CatNap just casually dominating most minigames... Pretty much like that with minigames like Pinball Fall. My guy literally didn't fall down a hole ONCE during his run- I think he probably has a bit of luck similar to Picky but he also is genuinely determined to win and happy to see the others struggling in the minigames deep down. Doesn't exactly voice this, but if you paid attention to his expressions, you'd know

Also, I think CatNap just pretty much wins a lot of the Reverse Minigames. The minute he hears that's what happens when the group lands on a Bowser space, he's like "K. I always wondered what happened if I just willingly jumped into this" in the most casual tone. DogDay would just look back at him concerned-

Meanwhile for Bubba, poor guy barely won many of the minigames (much less end up in 1st). I feel like he would still do very well in certain minigames taking character into account. He probably wouldn't be super fast though since he would prefer to calculate his moves I can imagine. Probably why he waited so long to even try to hit in the minigame Logger Heads (ironically enough though, he still ended up hitting a bomb at one point-) What made things worse for him was that he got no points and it was a Bowser minigame where they fought between half of the whole party's Mini Stars. He was already in last place by that point. He was likely frustrated about that, but pretty calm about the frustration anyway. Just silently facepalming and grumbling at himself for doing something he sees as dumb. Can also imagine that in general, Bubba would get much more quiet if he was in last due to the frustration but also because of trying to focus and think about ways to get himself back in the game. The party would probably be concerned about that-

Okay, I just wanna say for the record... The bosses in this round are the exact same as last time. For highlights there, Bubba got the captain bonus for the Lakitu boss and Yoshi's 4th place animation legit made me think: "Yeah, that looks like Crafty right there" because I could imagine her doing that 🥺 As for the Wiggler boss, CatNap was literally dominating everyone in that. He didn't even lose any points either. He also had the captain's bonus lol I imagine he just did all that with the most chill expression ever, too lol. He'd probably just be like "Imagine losing..." to everyone else in a casual way. If Kickin was playing against him, he would get offended by that so much lol

Speaking of dominating, there was NO CONTEST with the winner by that point. CatNap beat everyone by at least 60 MINI STARS- HE GOT 104 TOTAL COMPARED TO CRAFTY'S 40, DOGDAY'S 37, AND BUBBA'S 30 NEAR THE END- I blame that on Logger Heads tbh. The minute that minigame happened, CatNap just dominated Crafty in winnings. There wasn't really a chance for her to win now T^T Bubba was disappointed in himself but at the same time, not surprised that CatNap won now. He also blames CatNap's winning on Logger Heads and luck (since CatNap could get the captain's bonus easily since he was only a couple spaces away so he could use his 4-6 dice he kept on him) Meanwhile DogDay is just absolutely amazed by how well CatNap did. No bad blood against him at all. He's just happy for him :> (We love the golden retriever and black cat energy)

Finally, I decided to do one of the minigame modes for fun. I chose to play as Kickin this time and also adding Bobby, Crafty, and Bubba. I chose for them to do Choice Challenge. They had to choose between five minigames, which were Thwomper Room, Urn It, Tuber Tug, Polar Extreme, and Pit or Platter.

Bubba was the only one to choose both Thwomper Room and Urn It. LITERALLY JUST HIM. He got 200 points right off the bat. Bobby and Crafty were pretty worried by that point, but Kickin wasn't at all expecting that- He was probably making sure he won the next minigames he chose. Funnily enough, he was trying to go for Thwomper Room, too, but he must've accidentally chose another minigame. It would've been a StarStudent matchup there (sorry StarStudent shippers ;-;)

Bubba didn't choose Tuber Tug and Polar Extreme but Bobby, Crafty, and Kickin did, so it was literally just competition against those three for a bit. They practiced Tuber Tug first through Kickin's plea because he was wanting to make sure his Wii Remote worked (he wanted to make sure he could dominate his competition- Don't blame him). I can imagine Hoppy would likely be calling him a chicken in the background for not going straight into the minigame despite knowing how to do it. Either way, Kickin won the minigame and got 100 points. Crafty got 50, and Bobby 30. No practice was done for Polar Extreme as the instructions were simple. (Btw, this was the minigame Kickin accidentally picked over Thwomper Room-) All three of them still never made it to the goal, though Bobby survived the longest so she won. This time Bobby got 100 points, Kickin got 50, and Crafty 30. Considering how well she did with the minigames last time they played together, I can imagine Kickin would get pretty suspicious of Bobby. Though he isn't nearly as worried about her as he is with Bubba. Y'know... THE DUDE WHO GOT FIRST PLACE AND DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO TRY TO GET THERE.

Everyone chose the Chance minigame, Pit or Platter. Kickin's ego was probably kicking in again by that point because he's usually good with skill minigames. This one wasn't his best attempt at it though. Hoppy calling him out probably cut him deep so he didn't choose to practice this time, even though he probably needed it- Either way, he just wanted to make sure it wasn't Bubba that won. Sure enough, Bubba didn't win that minigame. Bobby did

Bobby really proved to be a wild card when it comes to minigames, but it actually goes in her favor this time- She actually won against Bubba by 30 points. She had 280 and he had 250. Crafty and Kickin were pretty far down in terms of points though. Poor Crafty didn't get first place once- Kickin meanwhile is just glad Bubba didn't win but also a little salty that Bobby won since she won against him last time- It didn't really matter to Bobby that she won anyway. She was just happy to play with her friends. She let them know that too through her usual affection :>

Slight disclaimer that I did most of this back in the olden days of 2021 when 3rd Life was the only life series installment, and it wasn’t known for sure whether or not any more seasons would be made. I also unfortunately have not watched anything after Last Life, so I don’t really know The Lore past what I’ve made up.

The general idea was to write a play-by-play of the actual Third Life events, except the timeline spans multiple years rather than days/weeks. With the characters all starting out in their late teens to late twenties and ending about ten years later. There would be heavy focus on the world before the borders went up. As in, there used to be a functioning society that fell into ruin and division after years of civil war, and as punishment (and to cover up their own crimes), the Administration of the server (the equivalent of a governing body irl) basically locked everyone away and threw out the key.

The events that happened before the borders would obviously inform the characters’ decisions throughout their time trying to survive in the 3rd life map, as they all came from different backgrounds in the somewhat dystopian world they used to live in. Mainly in that a few of them were much closer to privilege than the others, and prejudice against one another must be overcome from the very start if they want to live through the first winter, and then the rest of their lives.

I won’t go into the specifics of every single character’s pre-game lives because that would be entirely exhaustive (though I may on a separate post if there’s interest); but I will give a little run down of Scott’s deal since his is the most different and he’s also the one that post is about.

Scott is not actually from the 3rd Life server (servers would be kind of like planets or something). He’s from another world which was taken over by greifers. It is subtly implied that this world used to be the Origins SMP map (this dates me significantly, I was not lying about this all being conceptualized in 2021), but it is unrecognizable now. He was twelve when the world was destroyed and taken over, and as a powerful Origin, he had to hide his identity as to not be press-ganged into working for the greifers. Hence the veil and the modest clothing. Eventually, when things went even more to shit, his father “broke the game” and forcefully sent Scott out of the world; and in a stroke of cosmic unluckiness he landed in the Third Life map when he was sixteen. Although much to the confusion of certain characters, Scott actually seems to like it there better.

So that’s the abridged version! Tldr I guess I would advertise it as a survival thriller with some political drama aspects.

starting off strong w my durge / the elder sibling of the two! his name is rhys and he’s currently on the evil durge play through … silly evil little man. he’s half-drow elf (oathbreaker) paladin w an oathbreaker background! his hair is actually black, but constantly streaked w red from blood … he’s also greying early ! this is what being a serial killer does to you, guys. also his eyes are brown xoxo but red in the light because Bhaal … also glows when he uses magic.

his backstory is pretty much the same (prodigy of bhaal cut from the god’s undead flesh, blah blah blah) but with the added detail that he was taken in by a widowed baldurian lord whose true love/drow mistress died in childbirth with their unborn bastard child. prior to rhys’s ‘birth’, his lord father struck a deal with scleritas fel to care for the bhaalspawn under the condition that rhys would appear as his deceased child, which is why rhys appears to be half-drow !

however, the lord father was not informed that the child he would be taking in would be the bhaalspawn. rhys in particular was very prone to violent tendencies despite his father letting him do w petty criminals as he pleased, and it terrified his father. as such, he begged scleritas fel to bring him another child. scleritas fel obviously wanted to just do away with the lord, but bhaal decided to humour his pleas and made rhys’s little sister aerea from rhys’s rib and flesh (á la eve from the bible), but we’ll get into her details later! since aerea is literally an extension of himself, rhys does not experience the same bloodlust with her as he does with other people, so their relationship was fairly normal growing up, if not a bit eerie (angel dust + devil’s incarnate sibling dynamics).

they were obviously separated after rhys killed their father and was taken to be raised as a bhaalspawn properly in the temple of bhaal ! pre-tadpole rhys didn’t really care much for checking on his sister (scleritas fel told him that she was in safe hands, and rhys did some less than pleasant things to him to make sure he was telling the truth) and most of his days were dedicated to dealing with the annoyance of another sister (orin the red) and dedicating kills to bhaal. he very much shares orin’s craving for blood and gore, but he’s much more suave and smooth about it … prioritises efficiency and being inconspicuous over tormenting the masses without actually killing everyone who is being tormented.

pre-tadpole rhys was also intimately acquainted with lord enver gortash ! oh, the horrors ketheric thorm had to face when these two were together in the original plot of the absolute … violence and lust mixed together in a rusty pot i think. rhys was obviously very ashamed and disgusted with his relationship with gortash (see: The Letter he wrote to bhaal …) but never enough to actually end things lol. it took orin lobotomising him and putting that tadpole in his head to pry them apart ! scary.

post-tadpole rhys is still very much evil. he constantly feeds into his dark urge thoughts without much remorse — though he’s been known to be lenient on little girls who remind him of a sister he no longer remembers … however! he’s still very much a no-nonsense kind of guy, so orin’s hatred for his character still stands. she thinks he’s a debby-downer, he thinks she’s an immature child who only does these kills for bhaal for the show of it. this is not to say he has no sense of humour though, it’s just very … dark — and his delivery is too deadpan.

in-game he romances ascendant!astarion (they want to kill each other) but !! in my head gortash somehow survives the elder brain and they rule the world together just as they planned to from the very beginning … god i just wanted them to have their happy ending (rhys will still kill gortash one day, but not yet — he can hold off a little longer)

AND NOW MY BABYGIRL! aerea my sweet sweet draconic bloodline sorcerer … she’s a half-drow elf as the extension of rhys BUT! when they were “making” her, the heart of the former wavemistress of the temple of umberlee was also sacrificed to “balance out” the bhaal-side of her ancestry, so the draconic bloodline comes from the wavemistress’ side … u could say bhaal is her father and the deceased wavemistress was her mother ! 50/50 batshit evil and regular sorcerer.

she’s the opposite of rhys as u can see ! pristine white hair vs black hair mottled w grey hairs and blood … blue colour scheme vs red colour scheme … ice vs fire …

in the aftermath of her father’s death + rhys’ disappearance, duke ravengard advocated for aerea’s right to keep her father’s land and titles and became a sponsor of sorts for her! he was the one who had people come in to manage her assets for her while she was still young … aerea also visited the temple of umberlee often due to her connection to the water queen’s house and became somewhat of an honorary member of the clergy there. like her brother, aerea has a noble background, so she spent most of her time growing up alternating between acting as a noble heiress / studying sorcery / making offerings to umberlee; a fairly normal childhood compared to her maniac of a brother.

on the topic of rhys, aerea is aware that he was the one who killed their father ! however, since she is technically a part of him and, by extension, bhaal himself, aerea is a little … twisted. similar to how rhys is blindly loyal to bhaal, aerea has the utmost fate in her brother and what he does — even though he ended up leaving her. it’s not so bad that she’d do anything drastic, but aerea loves her brother to a fault. in my mind’s eye they’re also somehow still connected despite their separation because aerea was literally made out of rhys’ parts, so there’s definitely some twin telepathy going on there.

but while rhys is just fucking off the rails, aerea is fairly normal ! her personality is very much a good samaritan with a little sass … shares the same values as wyll because they were raised together, though she’s considerably more rebellious and outspoken. although she’s slightly unsettling … wyll never forgot the day she made her first human kill without even blinking … it’s the bhaalspawn in her, probably. while rhys would only ever sacrifice himself for his sister (and gortash … in some cases), aerea is very much the type of person to throw herself into danger for a stranger. that’s why she’s collecting so many companions ! crazy … she’s a people magnet (they’re drawn in by her tendency to self-sacrifice, like fuck we can’t leave this bitch alone and unattended). she’s on her way to a good ending though !! we love to see it

LONG PERSONAL POST - BG3 AND HOW I PLAY IT (SPOILERS /gen)

Hi okay so I'm fucking insane and I NEED to tell SOMEONE because I'm being bullied to hell (deserved) by my close friends over this- I am an incredibly slow gamer and I’m very particular about how I play. Save scumming? I don’t know what you mean. Romancing literally anyone that isn't Astarion? I'm pretty sure that isn't real but a lie made up by Larian Studios to convince more people to play the game (/j). It's literally the only thing I play ever anymore.. besides Minecraft, but I digress.

I got BG3 in the middle of September (2023) through game share, and started by playing with my brother and his boyfriend with mods! I didn't get to play much of that character, but that's not the point okay. Okay the point is- a few things actually. Let me start with- 

My first time playing BG3 was modded. I played MAYBE 3 hours on that character. They were gorgeous and unfortunately they no longer exist. I spent more than half of that time making them. They were a dragonborn and I don't remember for certain? But I Think they were just a Tav, not Durge. Unfortunately their name is also lost to the cosmos :( Here are a couple of the very few pictures I have of them!

I made a few characters at first, let's say like.. 5? Two were Durge, the others Tavs. 3 of those 5 got maybe a maximum of 6 hours each, never made it into the Emerald Grove. I think.. I'm pretty sure all but 1 went through the ruins and got Withers. The 4th one, my main and New Very Cool And Awesome Black Dragonborn Barbarian Durge™ got up to!! I believe it was up to 38 hours? I had done only a few things though! I had taken care of Kagha (no kill, I convinced her to not side with the shadow druids, she didn't hurt Arabella), I had gone through and done pretty much everything in the Emerald Grove? I saved Mirkon, I saved Arabella, I played it up with Volo, I killed the squirrel, I saved the tiefling from being assassinated and got a coin out of it (sick, was completely unintentional, I didn't like her much), bought stuff from the kids and all kinds of other things- you get it. I had gone through the blighted village, went through Waukeen’s Rest (but idk if I saw the Zhentarim with this character), killed the big spider, looted so many things, killed Ethal, revived Mayrina’s husband, found infernal iron, saved Karlach after save scumming her death and getting the fire armour for Wyll but it's okay because she was Fine After- *gasp* I got her engine upgraded once, and the very very last things I did was defeat the gobbo camp then kill Minthara and Dror Ragzlin (and Gut ofc, but I killed her first). I was in the middle of the party with the tieflings! I saved before anything happened, so I didn't see the fun stuff, but uh.. yeah, I ended up resetting my game, deleting all my mods and such to play with my partner. So went the days with my darling Melaqyn :’))) I miss them all of the everyday actually. Unfortunately I can't find any pictures of them :(( so here's some pictures of another of my early dragonborns, Sesaphael (name graciously yoinked from my partner's OC).

After I lost Melaqyn (which if I'm honest, I didn't actually lose them. I just didn't have the mods anymore and really didn't want to corrupt the file) I ended up making a few random characters- by a few I mean.. like 10, but only 2 or 3 survived. I made a couple also for playing with people, which were based on my own characters, so they were a little bit special? I started a game with a DND character I had made a year or two ago, who has the Haunted One background lmao- their name is Skulk- I'd show pictures but I'm really not that proud of how they look anymore >< I kinda floated for a bit in between games- I was playing all the time, but never settling- I was genuinely mourning Melaqyn.

Determined to get back on my feet with a character for real, I made a tiefling, named them “Ammarir”. They were supposed to look a bit like me, sort of like playing myself? Just a Tav though, which I regret to be honest but! There's always more time- I've been playing Ammarir since October 4th! They’re vanilla, so it was nice to not have to worry about corrupting their file. I started playing them slow at first, in between other campaigns, but I did keep coming back to them. Here are some early game pictures!

I was very quickly falling in love with them, and as soon as the mirror got added holy SHIT- I'VE CHANGED THEIR APPEARANCE SO MUCH OVER TIME NOW- Here are a couple early pictures from right after the mirror was introduced!

As I've made progress in the storyline with them, I've been having vitiligo spread slowly over their body- they don't have it here but will in upcoming pictures. I played and played and played and I'd done a ton of completionist type shit with their campaign (futile I know) until I finally got to the same amount of hours. It was insane, I wasn't as far into the game as I was with Melaqyn- I hadn't even made it to the gobbo camp yet. It took me 47 hours to make it there, and I knew this time around that Minthara was a companion. However, I did kill her, and I did keep her body in my camp, and It Is Still in my traveller's chest. 

I started getting anxious about playing, about the idea of making progress, of missing anything, of saying something wrong or fighting when I shouldn't have. I didn't want to look anything up because I wanted it to be fun and a surprise.. but I also made myself look things up because I couldn't handle the thought of getting things wrong. I had heard Astarion was hard to romance, so I used a guide for So Many interactions, with him and with him around. He's been a permanent party member (save for when I'm working on the others and have to trade people out for a moment, but even then I usually keep him in the party). Pictures from before the party! (They're taken a small time apart, and I only know because you can't see vitiligo on the first one.)

The prospect of playing the game became so daunting, I ended up spending a lot of time just mucking about and sorting my inventory and collecting items and finding nothingness so I didn't have to move on. I finally got a push from my partner to talk with Zevlor about the party, and we did it! And it was awesome! And Astarion was very pleased with me! Alfira was there! I really liked the party. Even after that though, I didn't really.. move on. I ended up going through the underdark and at ~70 hours, I finished everything down there, everything else in the main Act 1 space, and finally ventured to the crèche. I didn't spend a lot of time there to be honest, jumping back and forth between it and the Emerald Grove to sell things, buy things, the likes. I managed to sneak out the back of the crèche and not fight anyone (except the guys waiting in the room where Vlakith was) so I moved on and got out of there because those guys are tough, and I'm not good at combat lmao. I made a lot of changes between the tiefling party and just after the crèche, so here's a little run down! (Gotta love the zaith'isk)

I've only recently made it into Act 2, early December I think. I've hardly done anything as far as I know. I saved Isobel (reloaded a couple times bc I am NOT hurting Dammon <3), talked to He-Who-Was (I've not done his quest yet but I agreed to), I've taken care of the tollhouse (literally like not even a week ago), spoke with Raphael in the Inn, as well as now just past the House of Healing, I did some dark justiciar stuff with Shart, killed Kar'niss (sadge u-u), saved Arabella again, a couple other things I'm sure and I'm currently going through the House of Healing-

Real quick I want to add- I had a few weeks where I couldn't bring myself to play Ammarir. I didn't (and still don't) know what lies ahead in the story and I just. Couldn't. I decided one night, a week or two ago now, that I want mods again. Mostly just visual stuff, I love the customization in this game, and I wanted a little more freedom. I also discovered the beautiful basket full of equipment mod and I've been very much enjoying the sick as fuck armour B) I didn't want to load up their game at first, since I made them to be! A vanilla campaign! But I thought.. “I'm not having fun and this feels like a chore. We can play with the mods and see how it goes!” And holy SHIT I've been having so much more fun :’)

As of writing this, I'm at 114+ hours on Ammarir's playthrough. I've had the scenes with Gale and Wyll, didn't uhh.. I wasn't interested in Gale (but I'd be lying if I said I didn't go through with it and reload-) but I went through with the kiss with Wyll! Which finally sparked the single neuron that's still alive in Astarion's soiled pants (/a) of a brain to bring up the nature of our relationship. Here's some pictures from some of my most recent gameplay (in order of oldest to newest, over the span of like 9 days).

This all got away from me- I really did just mean to say that I am a very slow player. My brother’s boyfriend has beaten the game, got farther than I am in less than 24 hours which is insane to me. I suppose now at the bottom of this all, I should tell you how many hours I have in the game in total. Mind you, where Ammarir is now, is as far as I've seen the game.

Having mistakenly left this to simmer a little too long, I now have 431.2 hours in the game. Ammarir is now in early Act 3, with 158+ hours, and boy do I have some things to add since I wrote all of that.

Picking up where I left off, I did most everything in Act 2! I’ve realised that in doing the Last Light Inn quest things early in Act 2, I missed some interactions :( One, I didn’t get to play chess with Mol and Raphael (I actually don’t know what happens in that interaction at all- I haven’t seen it anywhere and I don’t really want to seek it out. I’ll see it eventually). Two, I think I spoke to Rolan at Last Light about his siblings, but I never saw him again after that. I didn’t know I should’ve looked for him until after I did the Nightsong quest. He wasn’t where he was supposed to be, and I had a broken quest which sucks, but it’s okay.

I saved all the tiefs and dwarves from Moonlight Towers- but let me go back a little. I did pretty much every single thing possible in the Shadow Cursed Lands, and! I went back to the Creche and destroyed everyone (bc I’m a loot goblin and I couldn’t leave all those goodies behind ToT). With the Creche cleared out, I sort of just went between the Emerald Grove, Last Light Inn and the Thorm family businesses™ for a handful of reasons. 

There were two things in particular that I really wanted to do with Ammarir’s playthrough, which were collecting every single skull and head I could get my hands on, and unlocking every edge of the map, everywhere I went. I’m sure I’ve missed many a head, and some spots on the maps were impossible to get to, but I’ve done my best.

It’s been a minute since I’ve added pictures, and my babe changed a lot through the Shadow Cursed Lands, so here’s a few pics!

By this point I’d finished everything in Moonrise and got myself prepared for Act 3- well sort of. I knew that I was reaching the end of Act 2, but I didn’t know anything about the transition in between? So I was wrapping all of my quests up, trying to find Rolan, looking for anything I could- realising too late that I didn’t and couldn’t bring my brain jars from the Nautiloid into Moonrise with me- after killing Ketherik. But it’s okay, I have them both neatly set aside on another campaign. Anyhow, I saved Dame Aylin, and she and Isobel are in my camp now, happily by one another’s side again. Shart has her snowy hair, and a very pretty white and gold makeup look to match, and I went to the road to Baldur’s Gate.

In camp, I was going through some of the clothes I had picked up- found a pair of pants, that are just.. pants? No shirt? I thought it would be funny if I had Ammarir wear those as camp clothes and uh.. Immediately went into the cutscene to start Act 3 ToT. So I have some pictures of them just.. topless, looking out over the city. I reloaded, changed them into something more comfortable and appropriate, and went through the cutscene again. These are pictures from leaving the Shadow Cursed Lands, entering the Act 3 intro, and the beginning of the scene in the Astral Prism.

I had no idea what to expect!! I didn’t know that Gith came after us at camp, I didn’t know that I had to go into the prism and fight, I didn’t know that I was going to meet The Emperor yet! It had been kind of a long fucking time since the last time I saw my gaurdian, so I genuinely wasn’t sure when it was going to happen. I did figure out that my guardian was The Emperor early on in playing the game- not entirely spoiled for me by stuff online or by friends, but genuinely just.. Finding out that The Emperor exists in the Astral Plane kind of tickled my brain an odd way lmao.

Now, I had been waiting a long, long time for this event- I knew nothing about how it happened, but talking with The Emperor and getting the astral-touched parasite was something I was Very Excited to have happen. I didn’t know it happened at the beginning of Act 3- though I didn’t know when it was going to happen at all, so it’s not saying much to be honest. Like I said, I was waiting for this, and I very graciously accepted this gift. Quite hastily perhaps even- when I started Ammarir’s game, I had no intention of using the Mindflayer abilities At All! But how could I turn down the offer? I’d begun using the abilities rather frequently by the time I entered Act 2, and by the end I was pretty juiced up on worms frankly. Here’s Ammarir after using the parasite!

I wasn’t alone in my venture either, I wanted to share this with my companions- of course- but I wasn’t going to Make Anyone do something they didn’t want to do. I spoke with Astarion first, considering he and Ammarir are together, what he thought. He was heavily against it for himself, and y’know what? Fair! I don’t plan on having him “evolve” at all, not past normal parasites. Gale I spoke to and he wasn’t opposed, but wasn’t for it. I convinced him pretty easy peasy and now he’s joined in on the fun! Skipping to Lae’zel, I did convince her to use the astral-touched parasite as well, and I’m not even a little sorry. She looks fucking awesome, and she’s so powerful TwT Gonna put just a couple pics of them in here, as a treat~ (before And after)

Considering I didn't evolve Astarion and don't plan to, I wasn't planning on posting pictures of him here- and I've reached my image limit, or I would 10000% show him here. Unfortunately though, I can't, but if anyone wants to see him, I'll post some pictures of him and Ammarir separately <3

As of writing this, I’ve not gotten very far into Act 3. In Rivington now- donated to the Flaming Fist for the refugees, spoken to a handful of folks around, was granted access to the circus (but I’ve not gone in yet) and I traded with the shady fucker who trades “antiques”. I’ve also run into Orin! The blacksmith’s shop is really cute, I’m absolutely in love with Exxvikyap 🥺 Seeing all the Baldurians who absentmindedly look up to Gortash is giving me whiplash (I’ve hated the guy since BEFORE I started playing ToT Fuck him).

Anyway, I could go on and on and on forever, but I think.. I think I will finish this off here, for now. If I end up updating this in the future, I’ll be more timely about it- After all, I did just pick up a Durge OC campaign that I’ve been wanting to do for months.

fractals and dominos' fan-selected soundtrack!

a long time ago you guys wanted me to drop the inspiration video game soundtracks that i associated with each district in fractals and dominos (like as if it were a video game), so here is the list and explanations as to why! heavy spoilers for the fic, so be warned!

DISTRICT ONE - NARDIS - OLYMPIA (CYTUS 2)

many of the OSTs are from Cytus 2 (specifically the Conner collection) and the elegance of this song, as well as the strong melody it has has a bit of a somber tone to it, kinda reflecting the struggles doha and mingyu are going through when possessed. it ends quietly too, like as if it were a quiet defeat when they got taken by mnet. overall a really strong start to the story!

DISTRICT TWO - LAUR - L 'ULTIMA CENA (CYTUS 2)

this fast-paced hard dance beat, quickly kicked off after the calm piano at the start, kinda reflects the double-sided-ness of daeul and junseo's abilities as well as their attempts to stick together that ended up getting them targeted by mnet in the first place. there are a couple moments of calm, indicating their struggle to break free, and a ticking watch, further pressing that the longer they're possessed, the worse they get. it shares that somberness of district one

DISTRICT THREE - SAKUZYO - IMPRINTING (CYTUS 2)

like district 2, it has a fast-paced hard dance beat as well, as well as a strong piano and violin line that gets quickly overtaken by the other electronic instruments in the background. considering seowon and woongki's attempts to stay in a delusional happiness, that overwhelming drown-out gets reflected here really well. also the title imprinting is really nice, a mark on how radically different their district is from the first two, as well as the way they try to rope zoom team into staying forever

DISTRICT FOUR - VILA - ABDUCTION (CYTUS 2)

with district 4 being the first district not in the city environment and down a member (hence the title of the ost), it's a great change to how dire the circumstances are and how dangerous things really are setting in. the menacing tone helps to add onto how strong and deadly jay is, and how desperate zoom team is to get ollie back.

DISTRICT FIVE - TEAM GRIMOIRE - APHASIA (CYTUS 2)

district 5, while taking place in a castle, ironically has the least orchestral song so far, adding onto the dissonance between the original battlefield and the one on the rooftop. the chaotic talking in the background, hardstyle beat, nonstop drum and heavy dissonance all add onto the chaos of the fight, with a monster being put into play for the first time. jiwoong and jongwoo are both extremely strong fighters and this reflects that well; had they been in possession longer or had stronger issues for mnet to take advantage of they could've been even more deadly

DISTRICT SIX - MASANORI AKITA - GEKKOUKA (CYTUS 2)

while district 6 doesn't really count as district since yujin was an outlier/defect, the calmer tone of this piece helps to add onto the strange beach environment and how yujin is different from the rest in how he's supposed to be saved. it also helps that the start of this ost is similar to the start of district 3's, a foreshadow for god-shattering mania :)

DISTRICT SEVEN - JOHTO ELITE FOUR: WILL (POKEMON MASTERS EX)

finally breaking away from cytus 2 for the district that actually makes use of the city around it. this particular pokemon theme is pretty menacing, yet still hopeful since zoom team is so close to the end and the win conditions seem easy enough... barring shanbin and matthews telekinesis powers, ofc. also i feel like this beat being much faster paced compared to previous osts helps to sell the whole racing aspect of the district. its a very huge tonal change

DISTRICT EIGHT - POWERLESS - DEUS EX MACHINA (CYTUS 2)

jumping back into cytus 2 with this song, this was the particular ost that kinda inspired the whole track in general. the heavy violin helps to represent hao while the electronic bass helps represent gunwook's more pragmatic approach (that is, using a fucking rifle). the choir adds onto the stakes, with this being a fight that involves trying to save a hostage while also take out the two possessed contestants. considering how action-centric this district is, it really adds onto the whole "this is one of the most important fights" point of this

DISTRICT NINE - TEAM GRIMOIRE - XIORC (CYTUS 2)

out of all the districts, this has the fastest beat, almost breakbeat pace, because of how urgent it is and how high the stakes are at this point. its a very violent and overwhelming piece since it manages to take out four of the zoom team easily, even though anthonny and krystian get purposefully let go. also adds on to how dangerous this district is, attacking the members' insecurities and with phanbin being forced to tap into mnet's possession to help hyunbeen and wumuti take down the district (and fun fact! ollie, wumuti, hyunbeen, and phanbin were unaffected as they had little to no negative opinions from the bp fanbase during the show)

DISTRICT TEN - RAGE AWAKENED (KINGDOM HEARTS 2)

with hui being the last district, and with how depressing his is compared to everyone else's, the somber violin and quiet near drum and bass beat give this district some extra sadness, with how easily hui gives up and how the goal changes from trying to attack him to keeping him safe long enough for mnet to interfere. it feels like a struggle to get to the finish line

FINAL BOSS - DARK EVE (BAYONETTA 3)

(THERE'S A TEN VID LIMIT SO I CAN'T POST THE EMBED BUT THE LINK IS IN THE TITLE)

this theme is pretty elegant and almost sad-sounding, but in a way that shows mnet's overshadowing power over everything, how it was the puppeteer behind everyone's struggles, really depicting how much rage in set between the members of zoom team versus the thing that created them yet destroyed them at the same time. also, of course, obligatory final boss choir

overall fnd has a very orchestral track, with the violin and piano being common appearances. fnd's track is a lot more cohesive than the one i had for god shattering mania due to the nature of their premises. glad i could share this with yall and thanks for reading this far and entertaining my aus :)

As i said before i love them all equally, for different reasons. One thing abt dx as a game is that characters arent plain and they are multifaceted.(?)

Adam

I love Adam for his complicated story, personality, for his own struggles, motivations and how they are represented in game. These small environment storytelling pieces and music that creates the mood (wait redswa it isnt abt the environment). What im trying to say. Through the gameS - dxhr and dxmd - we can see how Adam is healing from his trauma, and how heavy it was. Also needet to be noted how he interacts w another characters. AND this tension between him and Frank but how at the end of the day (but lit at panchaea) Frank is still cares a lot abt Adam.

Also Adam is just like my bestie. Moral think for yourself. Yeah.

Pritchard

ONE thing i need to say abt frank is HESSS JUST LIKE MEE FRR, and now imagine some kind of cringe sigma phonk playing on the background. Yeah thats it. I relate to him so much but like. in more✨deep infj cringe way✨ Have you evere feel like Pritchard is gonna explode from nerves or even neurotism? Or like from blast of incomperhensible mess of feelings but he hides it? This is what im talking about. Heyy dont judge me i need to project some shit to my faves okay???? Damn how could you tell i have a lot of hc on dx? i have no idea!

In Prague, Frank is still reminds Adam abt himself. (i know you can find them anywhere in Prague, but still (methink eidos gaf later abt this texture and put it anywhere jus because lmao))

Another notable thing that i like in dx series is that women in game arent sexualized. They arend "simple and f🤮ckable objescts" Megan is a scientist, on a verge of the greatest innovation. Yes. We dont know much abt her bc she is literally missing. Malik is a pilot. Damn i love her sm. Her chardesign. Strong and powerful charisma and nonconfotmity. Faridah's sidequest in Hengsha???? MY GIRLLLL GO AND GET AND BEAT SHIT OF THIS ASSHOLE. 👊👊👊👊

I remember how sad was i, when Malik was killed in dxhr and how happy was i to find out her little gift in Prague.

Overall kinda sad that there is not much screentime of them.

AND another notable thing. Megan and revolver. Revolver as an inspiration. OK I GOT IT

Its 2028 and AI is already taken big steps in development. Questions of self-consciousness of an AI were asked in a lot of sci-fi creations. And deus is not not an exception. Love how Eliza obtains her own conscious during the game and how it leads to project Hyron at the end. I have a lot of thought abt p. Hyron overall. Another topic ngl.

And ofc her design is beyond all praise. Thank you designers for NOT making her oversexualized.

During dxmd Eliza is also questioning a lot of essential questions. I know she does. But cant remember what exactly it was. Need to replay tho

I would say that vaclav is silly but not stupid, not even naive. We can find him on Dvali's blacklist, but he is important for them. (but we also remember that otar just dont like him cuz vac knows radich's secret and otar is not (mb that the reason why vaclav is blacklisted))

well how to say it.. he's soul is good and lovely, he is not evil or dark. Idk cant find an eng analogue.

I HAVE A FEW but i will talk abt my main blorbo, Zeal.

Zeal (they/them) is a Mephistopheles tiefling, Blue Draconic Ancestor Sorcerer/Paladin of Vengeance.

originally i did go for durge, but when uh... yknow the first straight up MURDER happened i realised it was a bit too intense for me on a first run, and remade them with a custom origin with the Criminal background.

now for the long info dump. buckle up.

they were from Baldur's Gate, the city itself!! their parents were actually nobles, from families that were like. very big on their draconic lineage and would plan out marriages and bloodlines based on dragon type and magical strength.

ofc this means they were huge snobs with massive egos. aspirations of hubris. LOVED gortash. they wanted MORE power through and got involved with the diabolists in the city, eventually leading to mummy and daddy making a pact with Mr Mephy for more power. and in return? why, the soul of their first born, naturally!

and then Zeal was born as a full blown tiefling, and the snobby human parents were like :/ well we didn't expect THAT to happen :/

and abandoned their newborn baby on the street somewhere. Zeal was lucky enough to be heard crying by a passer by, who took them to the local temple of Tyr. and that's where they spent most of their childhood.

considering what they were wrapped up in the temple KNEW who their parents were, but kept it a secret, including from Zeal themself. they belived they were protecting the child by doing so. in their early teens, Zeal found out, got VERY upset at it being a secret and left the temple to go see their parents, deludedly thinking they'd welcome them back. they did NOT.

their parents actually attacked them and decided 'ok well to hide this we're just going to sacrifice you to mephistopheles right quick ok?'

they ended up killing their parents in self defense during the attempted sacrifice. this is also how they got their facial scars!! traumatised and disallusioned they just kind of. wandered the streets until they fell in with the Guild and became a criminal lol.

and Zeal, not really knowing why they were alive or what any purpose they had could be, just kind of let the Guild use their powers as a sorcerer for whatever. a lot of nasty stuff got done with thanks to their magic. they have a lot of guilt and regret around this part of their life.

as they were first coming of age, Zeal REALLY fell into a pit of identity and existential crisis. it was at this time when they were wandering the alleyways that they happened across a small secret shrine to Talos, God of destruction. it was there that they actually had a small chat with him which basically summed up as 'let me give you purpose and make you an instrument of my will. bring destruction in my name.' since they were desperate for some kind of direction, they accepted and made an oath to Talos without really thinking about it.

cue MORE regret. Talos is not a kind god, and enjoys destruction, killing, and war just for the sake of conflict. again, Zeal begun to realise that they were being used. again. they had been taken advantage of in a vulnerable and confused state and made to do more bad things.

so they broke their oath. mechanically obvs they can't have started the game as an oath breaker, but canonically they already were one by the time they got kidnapped and tadpoled. when they got nabbed, they were essentially working as a glaive-for-hire and attempting to find their own way by their own rules and morals. they also named themself before the start of the game, Zeal wasn't always their name, but it is now. it's the one they chose.

later in the actual game, they eventually find their connection and faith in Bahamut, and swear a new oath, this time of their own true choice, and become a Paladin of Vengeance for Bahamut.

🚙- Panam Palmer: Panam and Sal have very alike personality types: stubborn, energetic, and with a very strong temper. Add similar backgrounds as nomads and it’s the perfect recipe for a friendship that also has a lot of ups and downs. During the Hellman job, the two quickly get along and become buddies in mayhem, shooting Raffens and annoying Saul. But things get dicey when the Relic situation gets worse and Sal refuses to open up, not wanting to further harm Panam or the rest of the Aldecaldos, and Panam takes that as an offense and gets angry with her. (Can you tell that Relic fuckery causes half of Sal’s relationships to fall apart?) Thankfully, after Mikoshi, the two get their shit together and make up, with Sal even living with the ‘Caldos for some time, although I’m still trying to figure out if Yorinobu joins them or if the two lovebirds set off in order to keep Panam and the rest of the family safe. Either way, Sal and Panam remain friends for a long time and have a very close relationship, almost like sisters.

❔- Yorinobu Arasaka: I could write a whole novel about these two, and I’m actually thinking of doing so (can’t promise that I will finish it, though), but to avoid clogging your dash, I’ll be as brief as possible and put this under a cut.

Sal was vaguely familiar with Yorinobu before she got the heist job, mostly thanks to screamsheets, and regarded him as your average corporate playboy who wasted away his wealth and privilege on being a rebel without a cause; and her impression continued right up until the heist, when he murdered his own father in front of her. To Sal, who grew up in a nomad clan and very family-oriented cultures, seeing someone murder their own blood was shocking, to say the least, and thought that Yorinobu was a despot who was willing to use violence to his own game.

It wasn’t until she had to forcibly talk to him for the first time, after being captured by Arasaka forces during Hanako’s botched interrogation, that her impression of him changed. As shitty as it might sound, both saw in each other someone they could use to further their own goals: Sal, to finally get help (and Johnny out of her head) and Yorinobu, to further his plans of destroying Arasaka from the inside. Mind you, this is way before Sal makes contact with Alt or Hellman, so she sees Yorinobu as her only way in. She’ll take care of him later once everything is done, and take Arasaka down in the process, right? Right?

And, as I have said before: their story is a big ole fucking WIP so I haven’t got the specific details of how they come to share a mutual goal. There’s probably a lot of overly inquisitive questions by Sal and oversharing about childhood and trauma, Relic malfunctions, also a lot of questioning on Yorinobu’s part regarding the heist and all the shit that had been swept under the rug coming to light. And, in the end, when two people who’ve spent their whole life drifting and feeling like they don’t belong anywhere start sharing heart-to-hearts about family, violence, mortality, and grief, there’s bound to be some kind of connection.

Their relationship can get tumultuous—especially before Mikoshi, when both the pressure of Sal’s incoming death and the Relic chip turning her brain into jelly become the cause of many arguments that end up exploding because that’s what happens when two stubborn people get together. It has a lot of highs and downs, and even after the Relic’s taken care of and Arasaka has been (metaphorically) nuked, there’s still a rocky road ahead. But with him, Sal feels something she hasn’t felt in years: belonging, understanding, a place to be, and the joy of being in a relationship with someone who makes her appreciate the beauty of the world no matter how fucked up it might be.

Hello Tumblr, I have an idea of a game heavily inspired by Wonderful☆Opportunity's "Death should not have taken thee!" !!

So the idea is: A seemingly average "Defeat the Demon Lord" JRPG where you (Moka) play as the king(queen, Atria)'s personal castle guard (and childhood best friend) turned hero, but the game is engineered for you to not be able to defeat the Demon Lord as Hero Moka. Even if you clear averything and max out all your stats. Whenever you die during the demon lord part of the game, it resets back to the starting point at the castle. The king(She's a girl, but she's the main "governor" so she's called a king) has a time loop established with her magic scepter where only she and Moka (because they're the only two with the knowledge it resets time prior to the actual reset) remember what happens after she resets the timeline back to its set starting point.

But, whenever you reset, you have a dialogue option saying "This is literally impossible." to Atria. She flips out a bit if you choose it, saying "Come on, you've only resetted X times! There's this guy who reset like, 1863 times!! Maybe you haven't leveled up enough!" "If that is so, go try it yourself, my lord." "Hmph, fine!" and you now play as Atria. It's a one-time only immediate battle against the Demon Lord. And yes, it's still impossible. She summons the entire army to fight, but she ends up getting killed.

Moka is like: "Sigh... this idiot." And revives her with the spell and scepter. They decide to just wait till the hero appears. The Hero, a magic prodigy from the Magic Tower called Athan, appears after a few resets (ones you don't play through), and a demon attack happens at the castle when she was still talking to Atria. She's like: "Your Majesty, give your magic scepter to Moka!" Atria's like: "Wtf. Fine. If we reset we're blaming this on you!!" and a combat starts where Moka is revealed to be batshit crazy good at magic. He just has a small mana reserve and subconciously consumes his health to solve that, which is why he was considered bad at it.

And also, Atria has a magic allergy of sorts to the palace scepter. Nothing lethal, but it suppresses her powers. It turns out a different magic type (that lets her self-heal and make shields basically) suits her best, and she's a really good tank with said magic type and is better with meelee weapons her aim is horrible, even with magic. Athan, a prodigy of the magic tower with absurdly high mana reserves but lower output, decides to aid the two's journey this time around, and she's basically a mana battery for Moka. They also meet Hastion, another noble magic prodigy (who will act as a second magic support), and the four befriend each other and go out to defeat the demon lord.

It's pretty similar to the first timeline with Hero Moka, but much easier. In the end, they achieve the goal pretty quickly, and Moka is like: "To think we could've solved this much earlier if we had just switched weapons!!" and there's a final cutscene of Moka (unseriously) raging at Atria while she's like: "I'm sorry!! How was I supposed to know?!?! ㅠㅠ" while Athan and Hastion smile while snacking in the background.

(Smaller details, you revive at the nearest inn during any non-demon battle defeat. You only reset if you die to demons in the Demon King's lair.)

Also Atria, Moka, Athan, and Hastion are my OCs. They have their own world setting and backstory but I tweaked with it to adjust them in this world. They (Atria and Moka) were a surprisingly good fit for Rin and Len tho. Ofc this is all still tweaked in bits but hey. Atleast I have introduced a fraction of the amount of OCs I have. I can't draw well so I probably won't draw them, but I do have ideas on how they look like.
