Help a queer family of disabled nerds

Hey my name is Dante, I live in the Midwest with three of my best friends. We have four cats, one of which is my babyman whom I love very dearly.

His name is Latke Library Card Mango (LLCM). He's very orange and he's the light of my boyfriend, Kris, and I's life.

Cat pics are great right? Have a few.

A few months ago, latkes chronic bladder stones condition acted up which resulted in two emergency vet visits and a week long stay with his actual vet to get the stone removed.

It was the size of a chickpea.

Here's a photo of his post surgery when he had a nakie tummy. He was very very happy to see us.

He's since recovered, but the cost of this put us back around 1300 dollars in total. He's now on a special diet with rather pricey food to prevent this from happening but it might still act up eventually.

We've paid down some of his debt, but the interest is making it become more and more as we try to pay it down.

On top of this, our pipes backed up into our basement and refused to work suddenly a few weeks ago. We live in a house that is over a century old, and the clay pipes keep getting roots growing into them that causes them to not drain.

The roto had to come out and high pressure the roots out to clear them (which required expensive equipment), This put us back another grand.

To add to everything, our 700+ auto insurance bill is due in November, which is the worst time for this bill to need due, but both myself and Kris drive over ten miles to work during different shifts on opposite ends of town- neither of our jobs have public transit anywhere near them.

We are currently barely making ends meet-

I am a lunch lady at a public high school. I love my job. I feed kids who possibly don't even eat at home some days. I do work I am proud of.

However, I can only work around 25 hours a week without risking losing my insurance as a disabled person. My job does not have longer hour positions available, and I am too disabled to work more than this without ruining my body like I have done in the past.

I have been going without buying groceries out of fear that what little money I have in my account will be needed in an emergency. I will be out of work for a week this month, around Thanksgiving, and during Xmas break- unpaid due to me working in a school. Me being out also means no guaranteed meal every day.

Kris works in a factory. He is currently working 55+ hours a week to make what we can to pay off the bills and keep our house. He only has one and a half knees that hurt all the damn time and is barely eating either just to afford everything. His factory keeps calling for sudden shutdown weeks with little notice at the worst times, and he's the main breadwinner in the house for us.

The other two in our household, one is severely disabled and can barely work 10 hr/week (he is waiting on hearing back to receive SSI) on top of having multiple medical appointments a week to figure out what is wrong with his body and why it keeps failing. The other is a freelance artist who is working her butt off to make money while carting the previous to appointments nearly every day. She is full up on commissions at the moment, but when she opens them I'll reblog her posts.

I really didn't want to make this post. I hate asking for help. But we are drowning and there's no sign of land. None of us can afford to live on our own, nor can we move back in with our parents for various reasons.

All I'm asking for is some help. I don't care how much. Five dollars is five dollars. Five dollars is half an hour less we have to kill ourselves to make ends meet.

Even if we don't make the full amount, every dollar will help us get a bit closer to paying this stuff down so we can afford gas and regular grocery trips again instead of having to save up to go once a month like we are currently doing.

Our goal is 2000 dollars.

Yes, this is the high amount. I do not believe we will ever reach it. I can hope we can raise this much at some point.

But for now that's the dream number.

It's the number that is looming over our heads, telling us to pay up or lose our home.

It's not something we need this very moment, but just what we need in the next few months to be able to afford living without destroying our body or working three jobs/ridiculous hours.

my landlord has been cheating on his husband, and their relationship is rocky. he also has a massive spending addiction according to his husband. his spending addiction is making him not want to perform the actual duties of a landlord, because investment costs are cutting into his shopping spree funds

ex, he is illegally not fixing a leak in the shower of the upstairs tenants, and claims the costs are more than their rent. he told them to "figure it out, or get the fuck out." (verbatim.) he also told me it would be cheaper for him to not have tenants at all bc his utility bills would be smaller. he then left it to ME to inform another tenant to leave (then gaslit me and denied it in front of his husband when his husband questioned it)

in his words, we have 90 days to leave. i am disabled and a full time student and have been living on my fafsa returns, and the last job i had made one of my disabilities worse to the point i've had intensive physical therapy (several hours several times a week) and am likely going to have to undergo surgery

i'm also mi/nd, so even on a good day i'm not very well equipped to handle things, and the recent stress has also caused my therapist to see me several times a week in lieu of institutionalization

all that said, i'm not in a good spot physically or mentally, hence the best i can do right now is offer some of my skills on kofi

i'm currently working with my state's vocational rehab to try and find a suitable job until i can get my degree, but even then i simply would not be able to afford the costs of a sudden move in the timeframe i've got to work with

UPDATE MARCH 25, 2024: i want to invest in a scooter to do gig work like doordash. this will let me work at my own pace, and earn towards the move myself, then i'll have some more independence to continue doing that after as well

they require 50cc or under, which means i could get a scooter for under $1,000. i'd also need to cover fees to renew my license (i let it lapse since i haven't had a vehicle), get a helmet, and get insurance (roughly $100 annually)

aaaa okay. hi. you might know me as 'guy who had to ask for money to pay its bills for like 6 months straight' or "guy who had sepsis 3 months ago and wont shut up about it." or maybe you dont know me at all. but um! shits rough for me rn!

as previously said i had sepsis about 3 1/2 months ago because of a wound that physically could not close for just under a year. and after sepsis that wound finally closed. but its opened again! and worse than before!

before when i would go to clean the wound / check on the severity there would be like a couple of drops of blood at most, or if it was really bad it would be fixed just by cleaning it. but now every time without fail when i go to clean it the amount of blood that comes out is like equivalent to the amount of blood that happens when i get a really bad nose bleed. so i need to go to a doctor for it. but i dont have health insurance

all this is to say that if you have anything to spare to help me not die of sepsis I'd really appreciate it

So how do I (you, the buyer) choose what I want?

SO when you open up the request form it should look something like this!

We're using the bust order as our example here. At its base price, $15, it is set for the black and white option. If this is what you would like, then you don't have to worry about the add ons at all and you go straight to submitting your request! Now, if you're choosing add ons, it'll look something like these:

The first would be an example of an order of a flat color bust + an extra character bust with flat coloring as well. The color option adds the extra $10 (to match the listed price on the poster for $25), and the extra character with flat coloring adds half of that $25 to the order (well a little less bc i knocked off the .50 cents) which is why it comes out to $37.

The second would be an example of a black and white bust order with an added black and white bust character. This just adds an extra $7 to the price totaling $22.

Reason for why I have so many tickets was this parking man was targeting me and my friends directly since he "didnt like" us and would get me on the smallest things like not moving at exactly the right time. He also kept ticketing me for "not having a license plate" when it was clearly in my front window since the front bumper couldnt be drilled yet, and i managed to contest a few of the tickets he gave me but APPARENTLY they wont wave more than one of the same ticket even though it was wrongfully given. I even had called the helpline and the woman who helped me basically said i couldnt do anything. I even asked for community service or something but theres no options for that. Im unemployed, im disabled, and i have no savings. Im financially controlled by my dad and he wont pay this. I have no other support systems or ways to escape this and i just really need help, im sorry. Id be willing to sell things i own like funko pops or collectibles if anyone wants info on that, i could even sew or crochet, but my main thing is commissions. Anything at all helps. Im sorry. Hey, So I'm Still in Between Jobs and Struggling.

But I might have a temporary solution while I continue my job hunt. I have repurposed my Ko-Fi to be a tip jar for my emoji servers and such as well as a place for commissioning servers from me. This can either be an emoji server or a fandom server. To clarify: all money will be going towards necessities like food, HRT, medical bills, paying off debts, etc. as well as Nitro as needed.

Emoji Server Commissions ($10):

• I'll make a server of my usual format

• Add emojis of the theme of your choosing. Depending on the theme, it might take some digging

• Add Tupperbox and PluralKit

• This can be either a private server for you and a select few or public and added to my list in Emoji Finder

• Can take me anywhere between 3-5 hours depending on how hard it is to find stuff for your theme

• If it's a private server, I'll leave and give you ownership when all is said and done

• Emoji Creators seeking someone to make a server or more for them only have to pay $8 plus an additional $6 per additional server. If the process for the initial server exceeds 5 hours of work, I will request you move up to fandom server prices. For you that would be $12 + $10 per added server. Fandom Server Commissions ($15):

• I have a standard format I usually go for and will have that set up initially before inviting you in and you can say what you want added or removed. Nothing there is set in stone. And if I don't know the fandom I'll need help naming things anyhow.

• I'll program all the roles for you
