Whenever I go to get my brows waxed/threaded, man, these ladies be acting like they don’t know what to do with my brows. My brows are naturally thick like really, REALLY thick, and the lady threaded a little off one brow and was like “I won’t cut more off because it wouldn’t fit your face because it’s much more rounder-“ then I looked into the mirror and was thinking to myself “um, I can barely see a difference 🫤,” and asked her to cut more off and I heard my sis from the back saying that “she wants her brows to look like they were actually done.”

Suletta Sunday omg holy crap!
My reactions More or less in order. But probably a jumbled mess. Spoilers ahead.
Ahem...
Oh wow we’re really just getting right into it.
Damn, Suletta really loves her mom and sis and doesn’t want them to become even bigger war criminals.
Damn it Laudna, you’re emitting peak incel women hating energy right here. Stop it.
Suletta is officially the best damn pilot of the show, maybe Eri was holding back a bit but still the fact she’s flying through all of Aerial’s bits is something I don’t think even Guel in a gundam could really do.
Somebody else is in the data storm? Oooo our elusive Notrette perhaps?
Oh crap, the Assembly league has a death star. A big one. Annnnd of course those bene gesserit looking bitches are not only saving their own skins but making a play to be the top dogs. Ugh.
Elan 5 a little bit of a badass.
*Gives gun to Belmira “I could never” (oh come you know you’ve basically killed scores) “I’m not giving a gun to a student.” (Damn it I almost like this guy even though he killed Nadim and basically started this whole mess)
“where did you get a gun?” “Who cares?” LOL
I always knew Haro’s were evil. Always knew it!
Damn Propera hitting them with the “You didn’t think I would change the password?” good villainess shit there.
Damn it Laudna, why do you suck sooo damn bad? Guel just kill his ass, the additional ptsd will be worth it.
Oh damn Guel is gonna die nooooooo not our boy!
*Sees flashback of when Guel met Laudna and Guel was immediately an accepting big brother happy to have a little bro.* Sniff, I’m not crying. Damn bro.
Felsi you goddamn miracle. MVP. Would have bet money one of the brothers was gonna die but nope, not if Felsi had any say in it. Attagirl!
Miorine calling out Prospera’s clear favoritism of Eri over Suletta.
Miorine remembering what I assume is a whole ass genome sequence she learned of yesterday that translates to an I love you from her mother to override Quiet Zero was absolutely baller and she’s got a galaxy brain if there ever was one.
Damn Bel, way to step up a bit.
Damn Elan5, nice shot.
Miorine basically telling Prospera I’m marrying your daughter no matter what, we’re gonna be a family. So deal.” Happy Pride month indeed! Love to see it!
Oh crap, here comes the double cross from the bigwigs, they’re a firing the laser!
Eri noo!
Prospera’s mark? What’s going on there?
ERI NOOOOOO!!
Holy crap most of Aerial actually survived that? That Gundam really is built different. But did Eri still die? Is there anything left of her? If not, Prospera’s gonna utterly freaking lose it on somebody.
Closing thoughts Next episode is called the Final Episode? Huh, feels a little weird to title something that. I doubt this series is gonna get another season (Really wish it would, it’s done pretty damn solid storytelling for the amount going on and the small amount of episodes it has. Though still it definitely could have benefited from more episodes and a little more time to breathe and develop certain plots)
I mean hopefully maybe it’ll at least get a movie (Gundam 00 did it) or a spinoff at worst (freaking Gundam Seed had like 3 right?) So here’s hoping we get to see more of this Gundam timeline cause damn, they made a solid and fun anime with this one. Last episode I’m almost positive we’re gonna get Delling talking about what exactly happened to Notrette and why he made Quiet Zero (I’m still positive it’s a Gendo Ikari thing, I’ll eat a hat if I’m wrong.) and also, hopefully we’ll finally get to hear wedding bells!! Get the best dresses! Chuchu should be Miorine’s maid of honor and Guel should Suletta’s best man! Don’t @ me.

જ⁀➴ We Only See Each Other At Weddings And Funerals.
Tumblr media
╰┈ BEWARE OF .. violence, swearing, mention of drugs
:・゚✧:・.☽˚。・゚✧:・.:
On the 12th hour of the first day of October 1989, 43 women around the world gave birth. This was unusual only in the fact that none of these women had been pregnant when the day first began. Sir Reginald Hargreeves, eccentric billionaire and adventurer, resolved to locate and adopt as many of the children as possible.
He got eight of them.
At first glance, Y/N would look like your average teenage girl. The assumption wouldn’t be wrong if it wasn’t for the un-natural powers she was born with, and the fact that she couldn’t age like the rest of her siblings.
Unlike the said siblings, Y/N didn’t leave the mansion they all grew up in. Of course, she wasn’t a big fan of living with her father even after everyone left. He never gave her break, still always making her work her ass off. Reginald ran multiple tests on Y/N, explaining her never aging body.
But all the training, tests and abuse ended when the old man had died. Y/N was sitting in her room reading a book when Pogo walked in, giving her the news and then swiftly leaving. Y/N couldn’t tell what she was feeling. He was a terrible person, but he also raised her and put a roof over her head along with food. Still a dick tho. She was conflicted.
By the time night came around there was only one thought in her mind. Her siblings would be coming home tomorrow. All of them. Except one.
:・゚✧:・.☽˚。・゚✧:・.:
“Vanya?” Allison spoke as her sister entered the house. “You're actually here.” She chuckles softly.
“Hey, Allison.” Vanya responds with a small smile.
“Hey, sis.” The girls hug as another family member comes into the room.
“Ah. What is she doing here? You don't belong here. Not after what you did.” Diego scoffs out.
“You're seriously gonna do this today?” Allison crosses her arms, moving to face her brother.
“Yeah, Dee. You’re gonna act like this, on this dreadful day.” Y/N would have sarcasm dripping from her lips if it could. The three siblings turned to the staircase, where Y/N was standing with one hand on her hip, the other hand waving. A small smile plastered on her lips.
“Oh my god.” Was all Diego spoke, his jaw slightly lowered in shock. Diego and Y/N we’re the closest of the bunch. Their personality’s clashed in a beautiful way. Despite not being blood related, they did see each other as real siblings.
After a short pause, the man walked up the stairs and wrapped his sister in a hug, slightly lifting her feet off the ground. “Hey, Flower” his voice was just above a whisper.
“Hi, Dee.” She hugged him back with just as much force before letting go. She walked down the stairs to greet her other siblings. “Hello, Vans, Allison.” They wrapped her in a hug, softer then Diego had, and swiftly let go.
Vanya and Y/N we’re close, she was the one of the only ones who came back once and a while to check on her, before she seemingly disappeared from the world and didn’t show up. As for Allison, the girls didn’t get along that much when they were younger, but they still had a good sisterly bond.
Allison looks back at Diego after the hug, continuing their brawl from before. “Way to dress for the occasion by the way.”
The male scoffed, back in his attitude. “At least I'm wearing black.” He then walked off toward the other side of the house, leaving the three sisters to themselves.
“You know what? I... Maybe he's right.” Vanya stutters. “And I shouldn't...”
“Forget about him.” Allison stops Vanya from continuing her sentence. “I'm glad you're here.” She says before moving her pointer finger to Y/N and back to herself. “We’re glad you’re here”
:・゚✧:・.☽˚。・゚✧:・.:
Y/N had left her siblings to do their own exploring before the funeral started as she sat in the kitchen on a stool and rested her elbows on the table in front of her. She thought back to what Diego had said earlier about Allison’s clothing, making her glance down at her own. She, of course, couldn’t fit in other clothes except for her Umbrella Academy uniform, the usual white shirt and burgundy tie, plaid skirt and blouse.
The girl sighed. It’s not like her father would’ve taken her on a shopping spree anyway. Lost in her thoughts, she was pulled out when she heard screaming from upstairs. She carefully got down off the stool with furrowed eyebrows and made her way to the commotion.
“-ut of his chair.” Was heard when she noticed Luther standing in front of what use to now be Reginald’s office.
“Oh, wow, Luther!” Came another voice from inside the office. “Wow, you really, uh.. You really filled out over the years, huh?” Hmm, must be Klaus. Y/N thought as she stalks closer to the door.
“Klaus.” Bingo.
“Save the lecture. I was already leaving.” Klaus gets up from the desk he was standing behind and starts to head over to the door. “You guys can talk amongst yourselves.” He chuckles softly.
As Klaus was walking towards the door, Luther put his hand on the side of his arm. “Drop it.”
“Ex-squeeze me?”
“Do it. Now.”
The druggie stared at Luther before ripping his arm out of his grasp and walked back over to the desk. “All right. All right.” He shuffled through his pockets, pulling things out. “It's just an advance on our inheritance! That's all it is. No need to get your little panties in a bunch.” As he finishes, he finally walks to the door to leave.
“You took something, didn’t you?” Klaus jumps and turns around, seeing Y/N leaning against the wall with a small smirk on her face.
“J-Jesus, Y/N! How long have you been standing there?” He questions, walking to her and pulling her in for a hug, rocking back and forth for a moment before letting go.
“Oh, just long enough to see Luther get his ‘little panties in a bunch’” She quoted him. The man let out a small laugh as the two started to walk down the hall. Klaus pulled out a box he had hidden underneath his shirt and kissed the top of it.
“You’re not gonna tell Luther, are you?”
“Please, his brain is probably to mushed from space to even comprehend what anyone is trying to say unless it’s about Dad.”
:・゚✧:・.☽˚。・゚✧:・.:
After a while, most of the siblings where sat in the living room of the large home. Y/N had sat down next to Vanya who was looking around anxiously - trying to avoid eye contact. Y/N softly grabbed her hand with her own and when Vanya turned to look at Y/N, she gave her a small smile.
“Um...” Luther started, standing up. Klaus could be heard drink pouring behind them. “I guess we should get this started. So, I figured we could have a sort of memorial service in the courtyard at sundown. Say a few words, just at Dad's favorite spot.”
“Dad had a favorite spot?” Questioned Allison.
“You know, under the oak tree.” Luther answered rather quickly. “We used to sit out there all the time. None of you ever did that?”
“None of us were good enough for him.” Number eight mumbled, loud enough for Vanya to hear.
“Will there be refreshments?” Klaus breaks the uncomfortable mood. “Tea? Scones? Cucumber sandwiches are always a winner.”
“What? No. And put that out.” Luther complains about the cigarette Klaus has in his mouth. “Dad didn't allow smoking in here.”
“Is that my skirt?”
“What?” He looks down. “Oh, yeah, this. I found it in your room. It's a little dated, I know, but it's very breathey on the bits.” He does a small bow.
“Listen up. Still some important things that we need to discuss, all right?”
“Like what?” Speaks Diego.
“Like the way he died.”
“And here we go.”
Vanya decides to speak up. “I don't understand. I thought they said it was a heart attack.”
“Yeah, according to the coroner.” Luther confirms.
“Well, wouldn't they know?” Continues Vanya.
“Theoretically.”
“Theoretically?”
“I'm just saying, at the very least, something happened. The last time that I talked to Dad, he sounded strange.”
Klaus gurgles. “Oh, quelle surprise!”
“The last time you also talked to Dad, you were all the way up on the moon.” Y/N cut in, earning a smirk from Diego.
“Strange how?” Allison asks.
“He sounded on edge. Told me I should be careful who to trust.” He tells her.
“Luther, he was a paranoid, bitter old man who was starting to lose what was left of his marbles.” Diego stands up.
“No. He must have known something was going to happen.” Luther looks at Klaus who was now sitting next to Y/N. “Look, I know you don't like to do it, but I need you to talk to Dad.”
Klaus scoffs. “I can't just call Dad in the afterlife and be like, "Dad, could you just... stop playing tennis with Hitler for a moment and take a quick call?"”
Luther stared at him. “Since when? That's your thing.”
“I'm not in the right... frame of mind.”
“You're high?” Allison says.
He laughed. “Yeah! Yeah! I mean, how are you not, listening to this nonsense?” Y/N nodded her head slowly, he had a point.
“Well, sober up, this is important.” Luther demands. “Then there's the issue of the missing monocle.”
“Who gives a shit about a stupid monocle?” Diego asks.
“Exactly. It's worthless. So whoever took it, I think it was personal. Someone close to him. Someone with a grudge.” Luther spills out, moving his eyes to look at Y/N before moving back to face Diego.
Klaus squints his eyes. “Where are you going with this?”
“Oh, isn't it obvious, Klaus?” Diego starts. “He thinks one of us killed Dad. And his main suspect is Y/N.”
“You do?”
“How could you think that?”
“What the hell, Luther!”
“Great job, Luther. Way to lead.”
“That's not what I'm saying.” He defended himself.
“You're crazy, man. You're crazy.”
He continued. “I've not finished.” Most people had gotten up and walked away.
“Sorry, I'm just gonna go murder Mom. Be right back.” Says Klaus taking his leave.
“That's not what I was saying.”
“Really Luther? You thought I killed Dad?” Y/N stood from her sitting position and moved to stand in front of Luther. He may have been bigger and taller, but Y/N was scarier.
“I-I just- you were the only one here when he died.” He stuttered out.
Y/N scoffed. “You think I wanted to stay here? I never got a choice!” She yelled as Luther took a step back. “Y’know, I wish I had killed the old man, maybe then I would’ve been able to live and be not stuck here in my 13-year-old body for the rest of my life!” Y/N breathed heavily as she used her power to create a smoke allusion and disappear off to her room. Her favourite way of leaving a conversation.
The girl placed her hands on each side of her head and paced back and forth. She really did want to grow up and experience life, maybe even have a family some day. But because of their father, it was ripped away from her. She would never forgive him for such problems.
:・゚✧:・.☽˚。・゚✧:・.:
“Our world is changing. Has changed. There are some among us gifted with abilities far beyond the ordinary. I have adopted seven such children. I give you the inaugural class of the Umbrella Academy.”
“Mr. Hargreeves! Mr. Hargreeves. Channel 9 News. What happened to their parents?”
“They were suitably compensated.”
“Are you concerned about the welfare of the children?”
“Of course. As I am for the fate of the world.”
:・゚✧:・.☽˚。・゚✧:・.:
As Y/N calmed down, laying on her bed facing the ceiling, “I Think We're Alone Now" by Tiffany started playing. She sat up, eyebrows raised in confusion as she got off the bed. Her foot subconsciously moving up and down to the best of the music. She slowly started to move her body, feeling herself become free for a moment.
Y/N -like the other people in the house- started to dance. It was almost a suspenseful moment. A moment in time that would soon be forgotten as thunder rumbles, music stops and glass shatters. Y/N stopped what she was doing and ran downstairs, through the door that was open to see her siblings standing. Across from them was a blue portal.
The wind howling was what filled Y/N’s ears before Vanya questioned, “What is it?”
“Don't get too close!” Allison says, reaching for Y/N’s arm to move her back as she moved slightly closer to the portal.
“Yeah, no shit.” Yells Diego.
“Hey, it looks like some sort of temporal anomaly.” Y/N yells back, earning some questionable glances.
“Either that or a miniature black hole. One of the two.”
“Pretty big difference there, Paul Bunyan.”
Suddenly, Klaus yells, “Out of the way!” As he throws a fire extinguisher into the portal.
Allison, who still has a small grip on Y/N, turns around to look at Klaus. “What is that gonna do?”
“I don't know. Do you have a better idea?”
electricity crackles from the blue hole again. It was getting bigger.
Luther makes his way to the front of the group. “Everybody get behind me.”
Diego follows his footsteps. “Yeah, get behind us.” Y/N rolls her eyes.
“I vote for running, c'mon!”
electricity crackles once again before screams are heard and the thunder fades. It was silent as someone fell from the portal and it disappeared. The person lays on the ground for a moment before standing up. “Does anyone else see little Number Five, or is that just me?”
And it wasn’t just him. Y/N moved around to see what Klaus exclaimed. Five Hargreeves, standing a few feet away from her in an oversized suit, still looking the same as he was 17 years ago.
“Shit.”
:・゚✧:・.☽˚。・゚✧:・.:
The group sat at the table in the kitchen where Y/N was beforehand as they watched Five walk around to grab the bread.
“What’s the date. The exact date.” He asks, starting to make a sandwich.
“The 24th.” Replied Vanya.
“Of what?”
“March.”
“Good.” He continues to make his snack, ignoring the glances from his siblings.
“So, are we gonna talk about what just happened?” Silence. Luther stands up. “It's been 17 years.”
Five moves to stand in front of his brother. “It's been a lot longer than that.” He blinks to the other side of the room to grab the marshmallows.
“I haven't missed that.” Luther mutters.
“Where'd you go?”
“The future. It's shit, by the way.”
“Called it.” Cheers Klaus.
“I should've listened to the old man. You know, jumping through space is one thing, jumping through time is a toss of the dice.” He explains, opening the fridge to grab the peanut butter.
“No, we didn’t know, you prick.” Y/N stares at Five, him being back was something totally unexpected it threw her off. Five and her didn’t always get along, sure the pair were friends but Five always seemed like he was too good for her. It pissed Y/N off no doubt.
Without looking up, Five replies, “Nice to see you too, Y/N.” After a moment pause, he does look up and straight to Klaus. “Nice dress.”
“Oh, well, danke!”
“Wait, how did you get back?”
“In the end, I had to project my consciousness forward into a suspended quantum state version of myself that exists across every possible instance of time.” Five lays out.
“That makes no sense.”
“Well, it would if you were smarter.” Diego springs up to lunge at Five, but his held back by Luther.
“How long were you there?”
“Forty-five years. Give or take.” Everyone’s eyes widen.
“So what are you saying? That you're 58?” Luther asks.
“No, my consciousness is 58.” Five sarcasticly smiles. “Apparently, my body is now 13 again. And so is Y/N’s it appears.” He finishes as he makes eye contact with the said girl.
“Wait, how does that even work?” More questions were thrown at him.
“Delores kept saying the equations were off. Eh.” He takes a bite of his sandwich. “Bet she's laughing now.”
“Delores?” Vanya mentions.
Five hums, picking up a need paper. “Guess I missed the funeral.”
“How'd you know about that?” Luther once again asks.
“Jesus, Luther. What part of the future do you not understand?” Y/N was getting a bit frustrated and confused. First her brother suggested that she killed their dad and now the boy she may or may not have had a slight crush on was back.
Wait what?
“Heart failure, huh?”
“Yeah.” “No.”
Five hums once again and clicks his tongue “Nice to see nothing's changed.”
“Uh, that's it? That's all you have to say?” Allison speaks up, turning around to face where Five had began walking.
“What else is there to say? The circle of life.” Five yells back as he walks away.
“That was interesting.”
:・゚✧:・.☽˚。・゚✧:・.:
Thunder rumbles as the siblings piled out into the courtyard, all holding umbrellas expect for Diego and Luther. Y/N had her classic Academy umbrella, black with burgundy trimming and their logo printed on the left side. She stood between Klaus and Five.
“Did something happen?” Grace asks her kids, who strangely glance at her.
“Dad died. Remember?”
“Oh. Yes, of course.”
“Is Mom okay?” Allison asks to no one in particular.
“Yeah, yeah, she's fine. She just needs to rest. You know, recharge.” Diego answers for everyone.
“Whenever you're ready, dear boy.” Says Pogo as Luther opens the urn and tilts it down to flow Regionals ashes on the ground.
“Probably would have been better with some wind.” He awkwardly says.
“Does anyone wish to speak?” It stays silent. “Very well. In all regards, Sir Reginald Hargreeves made me what I am today. For that alone, I shall forever be in his debt He was my master...and my friend, and I shall miss him very much. He leaves behind a complicated legacy...”
“He was a monster.” Cuts in Diego. Klaus lets out a laugh. “He was a bad person and a worse father. The world's better off without him.”
“Diego.” Warns Allison.
“My name is Number Two. You know why?Because our father couldn't be bothered to give us actual names. He had Mom do it.”
Grace, who was oblivious to the situation asks, “Would anyone like something to eat?”
“No, it's okay, Mom.” Vanya replies.
“Oh, okay.”
Diego steps forward. “Look, you wanna pay your respects? Go ahead. But at least be honest about the kind of man he was.” He speaks out.
“You should stop talking now.” Luther also warns.
“No, I think Diego should keep going.” Y/N says back. As much as she rather not watch her siblings fight, she was also just bored.
“Y/N—”
“Dad was a shitty person.” She cuts Luther off. Five looks at her from the side, seeing her face was mutual and almost hard. He mentally noted to ask her about it later.
“Y/N, that’s enough.”
“She’s right. You wouldn’t know, Luther. You’re still defending him? After everything he did to you? Everything he did to Y/N? He had to ship you a million miles away. That's how much he couldn't stand the sight of you!” Diego ranted on, pushing at Luther’s chest, causing the boys to get into a fist fight.
Everyone took steps back when they got a bit to close for comfort. Pogo could be heard yelling at them to stop and Klaus put his arm in front of Five and Y/N, to which Five swatted away.
He turned to Y/N. “What is Diego talking about? What did he do to you?” Y/N turned her head away from the scene, an unreadable expression on her face.
She shrugged. “Is now really a good time to ask?” She motions to the brawl. Five gives her a soft nudge with his elbow on her side. Y/N sighs. “Just some tests, y’know. Lab rat kinda situation.” Five stared at her. In all the time he was gone, he didn’t imagine their father would use one of the kids for projects, but then again he was gone for so long.
Turning back to the scene, grunts and screams could be heard from all the people. Pleas of ‘stop it’ and ‘hit him/me’ we’re all muttered around. Pogo had soon left, looking tired of all the nonsense.
“We don't have time for this.” Five says, walking away and going back inside the house. Y/N was about to follow him when she heard a loud of what seemed like glass. She turned around seeing Ben’s statue laying in the ground.
“And there goes Ben's statue.” Allison says, also turning to leave.
Diego pulls out a knife. “Diego, no!” Shouts Vanya.
Luther gasps and pants as a knife cuts through his sleeve. He hold his arm for a few moments before stumbling inside.
Vanya walks up to Diego. “You never know when to stop, do you?”
“You got enough material for your sequel yet?”
“He was my father, too.”
Y/N didn’t stay much longer to see the rest of what was happening, instead, she like the rest made her way through the back door. Once inside she closed her umbrella and grabbed a small green blanket that was laying on the arm of a couch. She wrapped it around herself, finding the comfort in the material.
Five was looking through multiple pantries and cupboards for something while Klaus and Y/N sat at the table once again. Klaus was hugging a guitar, his fingers softly running over the cords. Meanwhile Y/N wrapped her blanket tighter over her frame.
Allison had walked in the room, setting down her jacket and stalked towards the table. “Where’s Vanya?”
“Oh, she's gone.” Answers Klaus.
“That's unfortunate.”
“Yeah.” Allison agrees, assuming Five was talking about the absence of his sister.
“An entire square block. Forty-two bedrooms, 19 bathrooms, but no, not a single drop of coffee.” He rants.
“Dad hated caffeine.”
“Well, he hated children, too, and he had plenty of us.” Klaus laughs, getting Y/N to laugh with him.
After a pause, Five speaks. “I'm taking the car.”
“Where are you going?” Klaus was now sitting up in his seat, interested in what the youngster was up too.
Five stared at him. “To get a decent cup of coffee.”
“Do you even know how to drive?” Allison says.
“Probably not.” Y/N mutters, although Klaus heard it and snickered.
Five also must’ve heard it as he walked to her with a smug face and grabbed her hand and pulled. Making her stand up as the blanket slowly fell the the floor. “I know how to do everything.” He says as he spatial jumps.
The duo lands in the car just outside the academy. Five in the drivers seat and Y/N in the passenger.
“Oh brother, what do I owe the pleasure of being dragged along for?” Asks a sarcastic Y/N. She hears Five scoff from beside her as she rolls down the window.
“First, don’t ever call me brother. And second, you’re the only person I can stand right now. Well expect Vanya.” Five explains as his hands grip the steering wheel slightly.
Y/N suppresses a laugh, shaking her head jokingly as she rests her head on the side of the door. The cold rain drops making their way onto her forehead but she didn’t mind, it felt refreshing. From the corner of her eye she could see Five taking curious glances at her.
“Did Dad really use you as a lab rat?.” He quietly asks as if he was questioning if he should’ve asked or not.
“Yeah.” with her head still placed on the door, Y/N’s eyes travel to the outdoors. She watches with E/C orbs as the city lights fly past due to the car speed. The sight was so pretty, just to see all the colours swishing together was almost like a fever dream.
The pair arrived at Griddy’s Doughnuts. Talk about fever dreams.
Five and Y/N walk in, taking a seat at the counter. Once sat, Five rings the bell and sighs, he exhales deeply. dishes could be heard clattering from the back as a man comes to sit next to Five.
Soon enough, the waitress comes out from the back room and sighs. “Sorry, sink was clogged. She chuckles. She seemed to be well into her 50’s. “So, what'll it be?”
“Uh, give me a chocolate éclair.” The man from before asks.
“Mm-hmm. Sure.” She moves to look at Y/N and Five with a smile. “Can I get the kids a glass of milk or something?”
Number Five scoffs. “The kid wants coffee. Black.” He lightly nudges Y/N, a way of telling her to speak.
“Alright damn.” She quietly says mostly to herself. “Uh, I’ll just have a vanilla milkshake, please.”
“Cute kids.” The waitress chuckled uncomfortably as Five gives her a huge sarcastic smile. She walks away.
Yep. I’d be uncomfortable too if I saw that.
“Don't remember this place being such a shithole. I used to come here as a kid. Used to sneak out with my brothers and sisters and eat doughnuts till we puked.” Five days to the man who looks at him flabbergasted. Of course, Five still looked like a kid, so saying that he use to come here threw the guy off. “Simpler times, huh?”
“Eh. I suppose.”
Theirs a pause before the waitress clears her throat. “Here.” She says, placing down the milkshake and coffee before turning back around to grab the man’s order and give it to him.
“I got theirs” The man says, handing over some cash.
“Thanks.” Both Five and Y/N say at her same time, causing them to glance at one another.
There’s a other pause as Five turns back to the man, eyeing his uniform logo. “You must know your way around the city.”
“I hope so. I've been driving it for 20 years.”
“Good. I need an address.” The man writes something on a napkin and hands it to Five, who neatly tucks it away in the pocket of his blazer.
“What was that about?” Asks Y/N, brining the straw of the milkshake to her mouth and taking a sip.
“Nothing important.” Five lifts his mug at the same time as the bell chimes, signalling that someone had walked in. “Hmm that was fast. I thought I'd have more time before they found me.”
Y/N turned her head in her seat, only to witness a bunch of men clad with guns, pointed at Five and her.
“Okay.” One of the men said. “So let's all be professional about this, yeah? On your feet and come with us. They want to talk.”
“I've got nothing to say.”
“It doesn't have to go this way. You think I want to shoot a kid? Two kids? Go home with that on my conscience?”
“Well, I wouldn't worry about that. You won't be going home.” Five picks up the butterknife from beside him and spatial jumps behind the man, stabbing him.
Gunfires go off as all the men are shooting at anything they see that moves. Y/N quickly picks up her milkshake glass, smashing it over the closes man to her head. The shake drips down his black hair and his face as he shoots his gun in the direction it came from.
Y/N jumps over the counter when she sees Five fighting some of the guys. Y/N looks to the entry of the counter, seeing a guy standing with his back to her, she makes an illusion of herself standing beside him. The man jumps, shooting at the illusion as the real Y/N sneaks up behind him and snaps his neck.
She was about to run again when a blue portal surrounded her. Five had grabbed her waist and jumped with her onto a table. He was laying on his side and Y/N was sitting with one leg over the other, looking innocent as ever. “Hey, assholes!” He then jumped the both of them again.
The men shot at the spot the kids were at, stopping when they noticed them gone. Five knocked on the door, getting another man to shoot. Y/N sat on the counter she was just behind, swinging her feet and she watched a guy squirm. An illusion of spiders crawling on him was enough for him to drop his gun and doin in circles trying to swat them off.
The duo fought the men until there was none left standing. They both stood in the middle of the room, panting from the mayhem. The lights flickered as Five walked forward and snatched his tie off one of the mens neck, retying it around his own.
Y/N looked around when she heard grunting, noticing a man still alive on the floor not to far from her. She walked towards him, hands closed together behind her back and once she reached him, she got on one of her knees.
“Do you need help, mister?” She asked in the softest voice she could, trying not to laugh as the adrenaline fully kicked in. The man nodded reaching his hand up for her. “I’m going to help you, yeah?” She nodded, scooting closer to the man as she grabbed his face in her hands and twisted his neck, killing him off.
She stood up with a satisfied smile, brushing off her skirt and turning around to face Five.
“What?”
He shrugged with a small smirk on his face as he walked to the counter, rolling the sleeve of his blazer up and grabbing a sharp knife. He cut into his arm, wincing as he did so. Once it was cut, Five reached into his arm and dug, pulling out a small device that was beeping.
Five grabbed Y/N’s hand and swiftly walked to the door, holding it open for her as she walked out. The sky was dark and the air was chilly. The duo left the shop, Five dropped the device — which they discovered was a tracker — into the water drain. He fixed his tie with his free hand, leading them both away from the scene.
:・゚✧:・.☽˚。・゚✧:・.:
Five and Y/N had safely made it to Vanya’s apartment. Well, safely considering no one got hurt when Five made them climb up the window to get into the living space.
Y/N had never been to Vanya’s, so she took the time to carefully look around the place. It was dull, but it felt like Vanya. Five curiously watched as the girl dragged her hand along the wallpaper.
“You been here before?” Y/N stopped walking and turned around to face the voice.
She shook her head. “No. Dad never let me leave the house, even after everyone else did. Vanya visited tho.” She waltzed back to the living area and sat on the couch next to Five who was sitting in a chair. She could see his face from the corner of her eyes.
He was about to speak when a lock clicks interrupts him. He turns off the lap beside him as the hinges of the door creak. Vanya walks in as Five turns the lamp back on. “Jesus!”
“You should have locks on your windows.”
“I live on the second floor.” She puts her keys down.
“Rapists can climb.”
“You are so weird.” Vanya closes the door, taking off her jacket and sitting on the couch beside you. “Is that blood?” She looks at Five’s arm.
Five glances at the cut. “It's nothing.”
“Why are you here?”
Five sighs. “I've decided you and Y/N are the only ones I can trust.” Y/N looked up at the mention of her name. Five trusts me?
“I can understand Y/N but…why me?” Asks Vanya. She was confused, no one had included her in anything.
“Because you're ordinary.” Her face drops. Y/N gives Five a glare. “Because you'll listen.”
“Okay.” She inhales sharply, getting up to go to the bathroom and came back with some supplies for Five’s arm.
“When I jumped forward and got stuck in the future, do you know what I found?” Five asked as his sister cleaned his cut.
“No.” Both girls answered at the same time.
“Nothing. Absolutely nothing.” His voice cracked. “As far as I could tell, I was the last person left alive. I never figured out what killed the human race, but...I did find something else. The date it happens. The world ends in eight days, and I have no idea how to stop it.”
Y/N stared at him, her mouth slightly open as she took in all the information. She looked at Vanya who had stilled from what Five had said, before slowly speaking.
“I'll put on a pot of coffee.”

Only One Choice, Chapter 11
Read it here on AO3 / Tagging @today-in-fic
Spark.
She watches Ethan from the couch as he pulls a tin of muffins out of the oven, arranging a few on a plate. She’s been thinking a lot about what Mulder said about not having a spark with his ex. She wonders if she and Ethan have a spark, or if they did at one point. When she thinks about her relationship with Ethan, what stands out to her is commitment, dedication, stability. And love, of course, she does love him.
When they first met through mutual friends, she wasn’t particularly interested. He was perfectly nice, and good looking enough, but struck her more as a potential friend than a boyfriend. He was steadfast, kept showing up, kept gently working to get to know her, and eventually she started to grow fond of him. They’ve joked that while his attraction to her was immediate, hers to him was more of a slow burn. This is what mature, adult relationships are like, right? Measured, practical, logical. When you’re young, wild, and free, you date whoever you have the most fun with, chasing the next exciting experience and the rush of a first kiss. But the person you marry should be someone who you know will be a dependable partner, a good parent, and a lifelong support. That has always been her belief.
Ethan returns to sit with her on the couch, setting the muffins on the coffee table to cool. He picks up her feet and puts them in his lap, casting her a brief smile before he goes to work pressing his thumbs into her arches as he watches TV.
Spark.
Is that what she feels when she’s with Mulder? A spark? Is that why her stomach goes into knots when he looks at her? Why she feels the overwhelming urge to touch him? The sensation that there is an electrical current passing between them is not one she’s ever felt with Ethan, that’s for sure. There was no adrenaline in their first kiss, only contentment. Comfort, safety, security. These are good feelings, ones you can build a life on. Can you build a life on a spark?
“You still going to try on dresses tomorrow with Missy?” he asks, his eyes glued to the TV screen.
“Mhmm,” she answers over her book, which she hasn’t gotten through a page of in over thirty minutes.
“Are you gonna let me see what you pick?” he asks, glancing at her from the corner of his eye with a surreptitious smirk.
She sets the book on her stomach and gives him a chastising smile. “Of course not, Ethan. That’s against the rules.”
“Who made that rule, anyway? I’ve already seen you naked, I should be able to see you in a fancy dress before the big day,” he says with a pointed look.
She swats him with the book.
“The fact that you’ve already seen me naked is also against the rules, so I guess we’re 0 for 2. Don’t tell my mother that,” she lectures playfully.
“I’m sure she has her suspicions, given that we live together,” he says dryly.
“Leave the woman to her ignorant bliss,” she retorts, and they hold eye contact for a moment, exchanging affectionate smiles.
Not a spark, but maybe an ember. Burning steady, carrying them through the dark nights. Sparks die out quickly. She only hopes her spark with Mulder fades soon, because right now it’s burning so bright it’s distracting her from the ember sitting right at her feet.
———
She frowns at herself in the mirror.
“This one is really pretty, Sis, you don’t like it?” Missy asks, tugging at the train to straighten it out.
“I don’t know. Maybe. No.”
She looks forlornly at the rack of dresses she’s already tried on. Every length and cut, style of bodice and neckline. They all seemed wrong.
“I mean, I know you’re generally hard to please, Dana, but this is getting ridiculous,” Missy laments.
“I know, I’m sorry,” she replies, casting Missy an apologetic look.
“Which one do you think Ethan would like? Would that help you decide?” Missy offers helpfully.
Ethan. Right. She realizes that she’s been thinking about what Mulder would make of her in a white dress. She suspects he’d go for the mermaid fit.
“Can we just try again another day, maybe? I think I’m just not in the right headspace for this,” she pleads with her big sister.
“Sure, whatever you want. Let’s go get coffee or something,” Missy says as she ushers Dana back into the changing room.
They go to her favorite local spot, finding two open armchairs near the fireplace, which is off for the summer. Dana tucks her legs under her torso, sipping at an indulgent white chocolate mocha; she feels the need for small pleasures right now. Missy eyes her appraisingly, and she can feel the third degree that is about to commence.
“So what’s up with you?” she finally asks, her tone inquisitive but not abrasive.
“What do you mean?” Dana asks in reply, avoiding her eyes.
Missy’s head drops to the side in exasperation. “Are you really going to make me spell it out for you, Dana? I’m trying to be supportive of your decision to marry Ethan, but you’re making it really hard being so openly miserable all the time.”
Dana looks at her with surprise and indignation. “I am not miserable.”
“Coulda fooled me,” Missy says sarcastically.
Dana shakes her head. “I’m just...I don’t know, I have a lot on my mind.”
“Care to elaborate?” Missy asks with an expectant look.
She sighs and sets her shoulders. She needs to talk to someone about this, and Missy is literally her only option.
“Okay, but first I need you to promise me you’re not going to make a big deal about this, because it’s really not a big deal,” she prefaces with a stern look.
“You know me, I don’t do big deals,” Missy replies, working hard to hide her anticipation for whatever her little sister is about to reveal.
“Okay. So, I met this man at work,” she starts, and Missy’s eyes go as round as oranges. “Missy, don’t look at me like that.”
“I didn’t say anything,” Missy defends, “go on.” She’s leaning forward in her chair, creating less space between them.
“He’s an agent, he was just picking something up for a case he’s working on, but he asked me out, and we’ve kind of been...we’ve become friends,” she says hesitantly, glancing at Missy to gage her reaction. Missy is forcing a blank expression.
“So...you’re dating him?” she asks flatly.
“No! Oh god, no. I mean, he asked me out and I told him that I have a boyfriend, but now we’re just kind of friends, and….Jesus Christ.” She drops her forehead into her palm. Even describing what’s going on with Mulder is apparently impossible. “We are just friends, but...but I’m having a hard time reconciling how I feel about him.”
“How do you feel about him?” Missy asks.
Dana shakes her head. “I don’t know how to describe it, Missy. I love Ethan, I’m not having doubts about him, but this man...I feel so drawn to him. Being around him feels...almost electric.”
“Like you have a spark?” Missy asks, and Dana’s head snaps to look at her. She’s open, curious.
“Yeah...exactly like that,” she replies regretfully.
Missy nods in understanding, and it somehow makes Dana feel a little better, like she’s not totally crazy. “Tell me about him,” she requests, and Dana can’t help but smile.
“Um, he’s a criminal behavioral analyst, in the Behavioral Science Unit. Oxford educated. He’s funny, but in a dry, intellectual way. He has some pretty outlandish ideas, but he’s so passionate about what he believes in, it’s impossible not to take him seriously. He’s kind of intense, but really alluring.” She pauses, knowing she can’t go on much further without veering into gushing.
“Is he cute?” Missy asks, and Dana closes her eyes.
“SO good looking. Painfully so.” She opens them and Missy is smiling knowingly at her.
“Sounds like a real catch, Sis.”
“Yeah, but I’m engaged to someone who is also a great catch in his own right. I feel like I’m in a romcom.”
“So what are you gonna do?” Missy asks earnestly.
Dana looks at her with surprise. “What do you mean? I’m not going to do anything. It’s just distracting, but obviously nothing can or will come of it.”
Missy gives her a doubtful expression, but then raises her eyes to meet with someone over Dana’s shoulder, giving them a questioning look. Dana turns to see Mulder standing beside her, a cup in his hand and that damn boyish smile on his mouth.
“Hey, Scully, we meet again,” he says, glancing between her and Missy.
“Mulder, hi,” she stumbles, bringing her feet to the floor and squirming around as though he’d caught her in a compromised position. “Um, Mulder, this is my sister, Melissa. Missy, this is Fox Mulder.”
He steps forward and extends his hand to Missy, and she shakes it with a flirtatious smile. “Nice to meet you, Fox.”
“Oh, please call me Mulder,” he replies.
“Alright, Mulder, would you like to join us?” Missy asks, and Dana shoots her a look.
“Um, yeah, I can hang out for a minute,” he replies cautiously, pulling up a chair between the two of theirs.
“So, how do you and Dana know each other?” she asks, and Dana isn’t sure if she’s asking because she realizes who he is, or because she doesn’t.
“We work together, technically speaking. I’m a criminal behavioral analyst in the Behavioral Science Unit.” Missy gives Dana a look that tells her it was the latter. “What are you two up to today?” he asks, running his palm over a stubbled cheek. She can hear the scratch of the short hairs against his skin and it sets off a tingle at the back of her neck.
“We were just doing some wedding dress shopping,” Missy offers, watching his reaction closely.
“Ah,” he says, only moderately concealing his dissatisfaction, “sounds like a good time.” His tone is dry and not at all genuine. “So, Scully,” he says, directing his words to Dana, “Priscilla was wondering if you could stop by next weekend. She has something to show you.”
She smiles coyly. “Does she? Not a hairball, I hope?”
Mulder chuckles. “No, it’s a file, actually. Her personal favorite, she’d love to share it with you.”
“I think I might be free on Saturday,” she replies, “I just need to check, um…”
“Check with Ethan, right,” he finishes, his smile fading a bit.
“Right,” she confirms, her own smile quickly extinguishing.
Mulder stands. “I’ll email you, to confirm.” He turns to Missy, “It was nice to meet you, Melissa.”
Missy beams at him. “Likewise.”
Mulder turns to Scully and gives her a longing glance, then leaves. They watch him go, waiting until the door has closed behind him to speak.
Missy slaps Dana’s arm. “Oh. My. GOD, Sis!” she exclaims with wide eyes and an open mouth.
“What?” Dana returns.
“Spark? That is a goddamn bonfire. Even I could feel it,” she says with a look of wonder.
Dana gives her a pained expression then drops her head into her hands with a groan.
“Why does he call you Scully? And who the hell is Priscilla?” Missy adds.
Dana lifts her head, looking at her sister regretfully with a shrug.
“He said I don’t look like a Dana. Priscilla is his cat.”
Missy closes her eyes for a moment and gently shakes her head, her eyebrows furrowing like she’s trying to reconcile all this information in her brain.
“Whoa, so you’ve been to his place?” Missy asks incredulously.
Dana nods hesitantly.
“Sis, what are you doing? If you were to tell me that you’re going to break it off with Ethan and run away with that beautiful man I would honestly support you. But if you’re trying to keep things on the up and up here, a private rendezvous at his apartment seems like a really bad idea.” Missy is deeply confused, not used to being in the position to tell her sister what decisions are unwise. That is typically Dana’s role in their relationship.
Dana glares at her sister defensively. “We’re just friends, Missy. Men and women can be just friends.”
Missy shoots her a ‘do you think I was born yesterday?’ look.
“Sure they can, if they aren’t insanely attracted to each other. That man practically devoured you with his eyes, Dana. He wants to be more than your friend,” she says emphatically.
“Well, he’s not going to be. I’m with Ethan. And I’m an adult who can control myself enough to maintain boundaries with a platonic friend who happens to be an attractive man. I’m not a Neanderthal, Missy.” She’s using her professor voice, presenting the topic with supporting evidence. Only the facts, folks.
“Okay,” Missy says, acquiescing. “If you trust yourself then great, have fun with your friend. Does Ethan know you’re gallivanting around with a sexy behavioral analyst?”
The guilty look that overtakes Dana’s face is answer enough.
“Well,” Missy continues, “just don’t do anything I wouldn’t do,” she brings levity back to the conversation with a little smirk.
“That leaves me with a lot of options, Missy,” Dana retorts, and Missy slaps her arm again.

This was too much.
You felt like imploding.
The pressure in your head was just too much to bear; tears welled at your eyes and a solid lump was forming in your throat. This was just too much.
However, you kept up your facade. You were still smiling, eyes dry, looking up at Tooru.
And he was smiling down at you.
“Well?” He asked again.
There were a lot of things you could do. You were talented, not that you recognized it yourself. But you were strong, you could do anything you set your mind to. You could say ‘no’ and stand up for yourself. You have done it before.
Like when that chump from your class asked you for your homework. Or like when he then asked you out on a date. Or like when he had asked to put his name on a project that he had done now work for.
You could say no.
You should say no.
So why didn’t you?
-------------------------
“Hajime, I am going to die,” you groaned into the phone. Tooru had just dropped you off at your house.  You called your best friend as soon as you could, still reeling from the life-changing conversation.
“Well, I mean, what did you say?” His voice was level and calm like always, even though you were in hysterics.
“I don’t have a dress,” you sighed.
“Y/n, that’s basically a yes.”
“I am aware!”
“What did he say?”
You fell silent.
“Y/n, what did he say?”
You mumbled your response, pressing your mouth to the end of the phone.
“Well I for one can’t fix that. You’re screwed,” he said matter-of-factly.
“Don’t say that Hajime! You’re supposed to make me feel better!”
“He wants to go dress shopping with you, on top of being his date to his sister’s wedding, you’re doomed. I'm sorry that’s just how it is.”
“Hajime!”
“What, what am I supposed to say? I want to be optimistic but this is kinda the worst it can get. Especially since you’ve been in love with him sin-”
“I am not in love with him!”
Hajime didn’t respond. You sighed.
“Fine I am, but how does saying it help anything?”
“I’m just trying to get a better sense of your situation.”
“Oh really? It sounds like you’re trying to rub it in.”
“You know I would never,” Hajime sighed.
“Yeah, you’re a good friend,” you paused. “A really good friend, the best friend. How long have we been friends? Quite some time right, I was thinking-”
“I am not coming with you and that is final.”
“Please, Hajime, I’m begging you.”
“Well beg someone else, Y/n, because I am not third wheeling.”
“Hajime, it won’t be third wheeling!”
“Yes it will, it’s a no and that’s final!” He paused for a moment. “Sorry, Y/n, but I just can’t. It’s already too much having to play therapist to you both talking about each other.”
“Oh shove off,” you rolled your eyes. “He does not like me.”
“Whatever,” Hajime sighed.
“He does not. If he did, why wouldn’t he just ask me to be his date like a normal person?”
“Really? This is Shittykawa we’re talking about.”
“Okay true, but still. He had plenty of chances to date me back in high school and he never did.”
“You never made a move either,” Hajime noted.
You didn’t respond to that.
“How long has it been since you last saw him?”
You had to think about that for a minute. It had been years since you graduated high school, back when you saw him on a daily basis. You guys still talked all the time, but you really didn’t see him that often.
“The night that he came to my house to tell me goodbye. The night before he left.”
Hajime hummed. He knew all about that night, you had called him as soon as you had gone back inside. It felt like he had something else to say, but instead he changed the subject.
“When are you guys going?”
“About that…”
“Oh no…”
“He’s waiting outside for me right now.”
“Right now? What are you doing talking to me then?”
“I said I had to do a few things then I’d be out. It’s fine.”
“Well you better get going. We’ve been talking for a while.”
“Please come with me?”
“Ahaha, no. Bye.”
“Wait don’t hang-”
You were greeted by the click of the receiver. Great. You tossed your phone beside you and sighed. You were sprawled out on your bed, in the same position as you were when you first threw yourself onto it.
You laid there for a second, cursing your luck. Well, it wasn’t really your luck, you were the one who said yes anyways. You felt tears beginning to form in your eyes, but you shook them away. You got up and changed out of your work uniform and into better clothes for dress shopping.
------------------------------
“I am not wearing that,” you spat angrily.
“Aww, why not,” Tooru purred, sliding up to you while holding the offending dress out in front of him.
“Because I like my privates to be private, thank you very much,” you rolled your eyes and pushed him away.
The piece was a strapless, v-neck dress with a slit up the side. It also had holes in the sides, like those vintage swimsuits you saw in old magazines. It was a pretty color, but you knew you could not wear that in front of Tooru.
“Okay, fine.” Tooru put the dress away. You knew he only plucked it out to tease you; he didn’t actually think you were going to wear it.
“Why do you need a date again?” You asked while perusing the dresses.
“Because,” he sighed. “I begged my sister to allow me a plus one and she finally granted my wish so I can’t show up alone.”
“But she knows me. She won’t believe that we’re dating,” you sighed.
“Well…”
“What?” You whirled on Tooru.
“I already told her that I asked you out… and you said yes.”
Your jaw dropped. What were you supposed to say? Tooru had that look on his face, the one where he knew he had done something wrong but was trying to weasel out of it. It never worked on Hajime, but on you… you could never resist his honeyed eyes.
“What did she say?”
“Finally.”
You laughed, genuinely. As if anyone would think that you two would get together. Tooru was just… out of your reach.
“What? Is it that ridiculous that we could be dating? I’m hurt,” Tooru pouted.
“Yes it is, as if you would ever date me,” you answered honestly, knowing in your heart he could never love you.
“And why is that?” He asked. You missed the look in his eyes as you pulled out another dress.
“Because,” you shrugged. “You only see me as a friend, a little sister if I may be so bold. Now what about this dress?”
“But what if I didn’t,” Tooru smirked and leaned on the dress rack.
You rolled your eyes.
“Then I’d eat this dress. Simple. Now come on, what about this one?”
“Let’s try it on.” He smiled. “Then we’ll see.”
----------------------------
“I’m gonna throw up,” you groaned. Tooru just rolled his eyes at you.
“No you’re not, you’ve seen my family a thousand times, this is no different.”
“Yes it is!” You hissed. “Back then I was a little sister, now I’m a fake girlfriend.”
“Well, they don’t know about the fake part, so can you keep quiet about that?”
“Whatever,” you sighed. You watched as he knocked on the familiar door, an unfamiliar sensation in your gut.
You heard clamoring behind the door and suddenly you were swept up in Mrs. Oikawa’s arms.
“Aw, Y/n, I am so, so, so happy you are here, and especially why!” She pulled back and you saw tears glistening in her eyes. “I always knew you and ‘ru would get together, I am just sad it took this long!”
A sharp pain ripped through you. “Yeah, of course.” You forced a smile.
“And ‘ru, how dare you take so long to confess!” She whirled on Tooru and hit him lightly on the shoulder.
“Ah, sorry Mom.” He shrugged it off, scratching the back of his neck with his other hand. “I guess I am just slow to the uptake.”
“Yes.” Mrs. Oikawa nodded solemnly. “It was obvious you both liked each other way back in high school.”
“It was?” You stammered.
“Yes, of course, the way you guys used to look at each other.” She smirked. “And still do.”
“Yeah,” Tooru said softly when you did not say anything.
“Now let's get you two inside, we have a lot to do!”
You were then rushed inside and whirled around as preparations fell into place. The rehearsal dinner flew by quickly. You didn’t have many responsibilities as a guest, so you spent your time talking to members of Tooru’s family. Which was… awkward, to say the least. You already knew all of them (you found out that this was supposed to be a very small family event) so it was awkward reintroducing yourself as Tooru’s girlfriend. It was harder because technically you weren’t supposed to be here.
You found Tooru in a gap in his busy schedule and pulled him to the side.
“Why didn’t you tell me this is a family affair?” You seethed.
Tooru smiled shyly. “That’s why it was such a big deal that Sis allowed me a plus one, that’s why I just had to take you.”
“I hate you,” you spat angrily, but Tooru just smiled. “Do you know how many people asked me if we were engaged?” He leaned down and kissed your forehead.
“Now is that anyway to talk to your fiance?”
Your jaw dropped. “You didn’t.”
“Just kidding, love. Don’t worry, we’re not engaged yet.”
“I hope your family gives you so much shit when we ‘break up.’”
Tooru frowned. “About that I-”
“Tooru? Where the actual fuck are you?” Tooru’s sister nearly screamed.
“You better go,” you sighed.
“Yeah.” Tooru frowned.
He looked like he wanted to say more, but decided against it when his sister screamed for him again.
--------------------
The wedding was beautiful. It was a small affair at a local meadow, with blooming wild flowers surrounding the guests. It was ethereal, overflowing with the spirit of spring. You sat alone next to family, as Tooru was a part of the wedding procession. After the ceremony, the reception took place at a nearby banquet hall. You were shuttled off into a separate car from  Tooru, but you didn’t mind. You had made friends with one of his cousins and you had been talking with him to pass the time.
“So when did you and Tooru meet?”
“Back in high school,” you responded easily, recalling the memory fondly. “He came up to me randomly in class and demanded that I be the volleyball club’s manager. I had said no, of course, until his friend had asked me a bit nicer.”
“Sounds just like him,” he scoffed. “Only concerned with himself.”
“Yeah,” you agreed absentmindedly.
“So what made you date him? I mean, no offense, he’s my cousin and all, but why do you even like him?”
You paused for this question. What did you like about Tooru?
“I… well… everything. I didn’t like him at first, I actually hated him. He was so arrogant and cocky and rude, but after a while I realized that there was so much more to him.  He’s dedicated and strong. Tooru puts on this facade for other people so that he can be strong for them, too. He understands people and helps his teammates, he treats them like family. He’s so receptive and intuitive, you really can’t hide anything from him. He’s just… so perfect, yet so layered. He is so raw and human and I love that about him. I love that side of him, the one no one ever sees. So I guess I just love everything about him.”
“Wow,” he laughed. “Wasn't expecting that.”
“Sorry.” You shrunk in on yourself.
“No it’s fine, I was just gonna say I’ll shoot my shot if it doesn’t work out with him, but it turns out you really like him.”
“Oh,” was the only thing you could say.
“Can I have a pity dance?” He extended his arm towards you.
You smiled. “Sure.”
He led you out onto the dance floor and swept you up into his arms. You followed his lead, not really sure how to dance, but he assured you that you could just follow him.
“You know, you look amazing in that dress.”
“Ah, thank you,” you smiled. “You don’t look so bad yourself.”
“Thank you, I can clean-”
A person behind you cleared their throat. You turned to see Tooru. If you were anyone else, you would have thought he looked pleasant, with the soft smile on his face. But you weren’t just anyone else. So you knew that there was a rage in Tooru’s eyes.
“May I speak to Y/n?”
“Actually, we’re in the middle of a dance so-”
“That wasn’t a question,” Tooru smiled, closing his eyes and tilting his head.
“Tooru,” you hissed. “Just let us finish the-”
Instead Tooru grabbed your arm and tugged you away from his cousin. The cousin scoffed and threw his arms up.
“Calm the fuck down, Tooru. She’s all yours.”
The cousin walked off, and right after you whipped around to face Tooru.
“What the actual fuck is your problem?”
Tooru looked around him and then grabbed your arm again. “Let’s talk somewhere else,” he urged. You looked around to see a commotion beginning, with you guys at the center. You bottled your rage for a moment and allowed him to lead you outside.
Once you were out of earshot of the guests, you let loose.
“Oikawa Tooru, you explain yourself right now, because that just now was not okay.”
“He was hitting on you, I heard him,” Tooru responded, his face set into a scowl.
“So? And if he was? What right have you to step in?”
“I-”
“No,” you cut him off. “You have no right. I’m not even your girlfriend!”
Something flashed in Tooru’s eyes, but you were too angry to analyze it.
“You’re right, I’m sorry.” Tooru hung his head.
“You should be. You’re just so obsessed with your image that you don’t want a guy to hit on your supposed girl.”
“That’s not it,” Tooru bit out, looking up to meet your gaze.
“Oh? Then what? Do you have such little faith in me that you think I would leave you for your cousin at your sister’s wedding?”
“No.”
“Then what? Then what Tooru? What in the world could drive you to do something so fucking stupid-”
“I was jealous, alright!” When you didn’t respond to him he took a deep breath. “I was jealous,” he said again, except much calmer.
“Why?” You breathed softly. The air was tight between you two, and you felt like if another person yelled it might shatter.
Tooru slumped. “Don’t make me say it.”
“No,” you shook your head. “No you don’t.”
“Yes, I-”
“No, Tooru, you don’t. You are just hurt over your girlfriend and you're reaching out for something, anything, and I will not be it so don’t you dare say it.” You felt tears welling up at your eyes but you willed them down.
“Y/n, I’m not. I actually-”
“Don’t you dare,” you warned again.
Tooru sighed. “Y/n, do you know why she broke up with me?”
You didn’t respond.
“Y/n… she broke up with me because she realized that I was in love with you.”
You blinked once. Twice. You took a deep breath and tried to process what he just said to you.
“How…” It was the only thing you could mutter, you were too taken aback.
“I was just talking about you and she asked me. She asked me if I loved you. I couldn’t lie to her any longer.”
Your heart raced in your chest and you looked into eyes, searching for any dishonesty. The sheer earnestness in his gaze made you swallow thickly around the lump in your throat.
“How long?”
Tooru sighed and reached up to scratch the back of his neck. “Dunno. Been a while though.”
It fell silent.
“So what do we do now?” You asked.
“Well, will you give me a chance?”
“Pull that shit with your cousin again and it is a no.”
“Okay, okay, I said I was sorry I just didn’t like the way he was looking at you and you technically weren’t mine yet and I-”
You reached up and kissed him. It was a passionate kiss, years of pent emotion behind it. Once Tooru reciprocated, it just felt like he was smashing his face into yours, desperate to be closer. You pulled away, Tooru chasing you with his lips.
“Calm down, I’m not going anywhere,” you smiled at him, cupping his face.
“I know I just-” Tooru stopped mid sentence, but he really didn’t need to say more. You understood.
“Tooru, where the- oh.”
You tried to look behind you to see who it was, but Tooru was holding you too tightly. The best you could do was crane your neck to catch a glimpse of white. Tooru’s sister.
“About time, bro,” she laughed.
You looked up at Tooru. He had a sheepish smile on his face. The gears in your mind suddenly slotted together.
“She knew it was fake? But… then… why…”
Tooru didn’t answer, instead his face grew red and he averted his eyes.
“He wanted to take you the whole time, sweetheart. He’s just emotionally constipated so he can’t ask like a normal person.”
“I am not!” Tooru cried indignantly.
“Whatever, I need you back in there so you got five minutes with your new girlfriend before I drag you back in there. Got it?”
Tooru nodded. You heard the door close behind her and looked back up at Tooru.
“You’re lucky I like you,” you sighed, shaking your head.
“I really am.” Tooru smiled brilliantly.
Then he leaned down and stole your lips in another kiss.

Losing Time
This story is not in my usual continuity, but was written for Wendip Week 2021, topic "Time Travel."
for Wendip Week 2021
---
Mabel faced a hard decision when she called in that favor.
She was nearly thirty, she was a successful clothing designer, she had a steady romantic partner, life was good. But then on a visit to Gravity Falls, she visited the grave of good old Waddles, whose heart had given out the previous winter, while she was off in New York.
And she hadn't been able to say goodbye.
And despite the fact that she was all grown up and everything, it ripped at her heart—that she hadn't said farewell to her most favorite pet of all time. It wasn't that he hadn't been well cared for—Soos saw to that, giving the pig all the comforts and plenty of food. It wasn't that he was cut off in his youth—seventeen is a good long life for a pig. It's just that—
Well, now she knew how Dipper felt.
Speaking of whom.
Dipper and Wendy were coming up on their tenth wedding anniversary, they had adorable twins, age six, names Alexander and Amanda, and they lived in the Mystery Shack. Grunkles Stan and Ford still technically owned the place, and Soos ran it, but over the years he and Melody had expanded it until their own growing family caused Soos to have a separate house built just across the road, and he and his family of six—he, Melody, Benny, Betty, Alma, and little Stanley—had made the short move. Dipper had inherited Grunkle Ford's role as investigator of the weird, Wendy was a nationally-known consultant on forestry issues, and they took over the living space that Soos had left vacant.
Ford, now semi-retired, still came over to work with Dipper down in the secret labs when some project was afoot. Grunkle Stan came over to help when the Shack was swamped with tourists in vacation season, but he spent a lot of his time visiting casinos all over the world, where his odd luck always brought him a steady income.
The attic bedroom had become disused.
"Can I stay?" Mabel asked in a small voice just at sunup that day. "Just for a couple weeks?"
"Sure, Mabes!" Wendy said. "Any time, you know that."
Dipper, now sporting a goatee and wearing glasses to correct mild myopia, said, "Sis, what's wrong?"
With a sad smile, Mabel said, "You can tell, huh? Just getting all sentimental. Missing Waddles."
"Oh," Dipper said. "That. We're sorry you couldn't make it back in January."
"It was so unexpected," Wendy said. "He was OK, you know, kinda slow and sleepy all the time, and then one morning we found him in his stall. He'd passed in his sleep."
"He was comfortable to the end," Dipper said. "The heat was on. He didn't freeze or anything. He looked peaceful."
"We buried him down the hill," Wendy told her. "Come on, we'll walk you down."
The place was pretty, a small clearing off to the right of the Mystery Trail. Grass had greened the mound, dewy now with the dawn, and—Mabel couldn't help sobbing—Dipper and Wendy had put up a marker, one of those you could buy for a cherished dog or cat. It read,

WADDLES
2012-2029
Always Loved
---
"Could you just leave me here for a few minutes?" asked Mabel.
Dipper hugged her. "Sure, Sis," he said. "Take y our time."
Wendy hugged her, too. "You gave him a good life," she said.
When the two had left, Mabel took a deep breath and took something that looked like a thick button from her jeans pocket. She held it between finger and thumb, close to her lips, and said, "OK, Blendin Blandin, you owe me one."
And without fuss, explosions, or special-effects noise, he was there, beside her, in his old uniform. "M-Ma-Mabel," he said, smiling. "Hi. It's be-been a wh-while."
"Yeah," she said. "You're looking—exactly the same. How's Time Baby?"
"Te-te-teething," Blendin said with a grimace. "The ne-next thou-thousand years are go-gonna be hard. I gu-guess you want your fa-favor now?"
"I do," she said. "Waddles passed away last January. I don't want to bring him back to life or anything. I've learned better than that. But I didn't get to see him before he went, and I really want to visit him one last time. So—could I borrow a time tape?"
"I pro-promised," he said. "I always carry a sp-spare these da-days. Here."
"And I also need your advice," Mabel said, accepting the heavy time-travel device. "I want to visit Waddles on the happiest day of his whole life."
"You-you'll have to a-avoid meeting yourself," Blendin warned. "That would be cat-cata-catas—bad."
"Agreed," she said.
"Let me find out how to se-set the co-coordinates, then," he said. "Just a se-second."
He blinked out of existence for just three seconds, then reappeared, slapping at his hair, which was smoldering. "Th-that was two we-weeks of hard wo-work!" he said. "Lucky this-this is m-my va-vacation month. OK, I've reviewed Wa-Waddles' s li-life and this will ta-take you to the ex-exact day when he was happiest. You can ha-have the wh-whole day, or eight hours any-anyway, bu-but remember to a-avoid me-meeting yourself."
"Will do."
Blendin set the time tape, warned, "It will br-bring you ba-back to the present automatically. Ha-have a g-good time-tr-trip."
The strange noiseless explosion, a moment of spinning disorientation, and poof! there she was, at the edge of the woods behind the Shack. The sun was just rising.
"Out you go," she heard a girl's voice say from the back door.
She saw a rectangle of yellow light. Oh, my God, that's me, in my old sleep shirt! I'm twelve! I'm so young!
Her younger self held the door for Waddles—He's so cute and tiny!—and the pig stepped out, sniffed the air, and waddled over close to the woods to take care of his morning business.
Let's see. I always let him out, then had breakfast, then called him back in, so I have about half an hour before I have to duck out of sight.
"Waddles," she called softly.
He heard and galumphed over to her. He knew her. Her different size, her different voice, didn't matter. She scooped him up. "Oh, I love you!" she said as he curled into a ball and nuzzled her cheek. "Let's go for a walk."
She set him down, and they went down the Mystery Trail, past the Bottomless Pit—not yet fenced off—and as far as the bonfire clearing, where she sat on a log and played with him, laughing through tears. "I'm gonna have to say goodbye, later," she whispered. "But remember, no matter what, I'll always love you!"
Too soon she heard her own younger voice calling, probably for the second time and more loudly, "Waddles!"
"Go on," she told the pig, patting his bottom. He trotted back to the other Mabel, his Mabel.
What day is this? Mabel wondered. What day made him happiest?
She sat too long. Someone spoke, startling her. "Whoops, sorry, didn't know anybody was here!"
Wendy.
Mabel stood up. "I was just, uh—I used to come here when I was a girl—" she began.
"Mabel?" Wendy asked, blinking and staring. "Mabel? Is that you?"
"Haven't changed all that much, have I?" she asked. "Oh, my God, you're so young! Can—can I hug you?"
She was a little bit taller than the fifteen-year-old Wendy, who would add a few inches to her height in the next two years. Mabel couldn't help crying again. "I'm sorry," she whispered. "I didn't mean to let anyone see me. Time travel. I came back to—to visit Waddles."
"Oh, man," Wendy said. "Dipper's told me about this kind of stuff! Come on back to the Shack and surprise him!"
"No, I can't," Mabel said. "Don't even tell him you met me. That would cause problems with time."
"Oh."
Something in Wendy's voice hit her then. "Uh—what's wrong, Wendy?"
"Just—just the end of summer," Wendy faltered. "I—I hate that you and Dip are goin' home today."
Oh, my God! Of course! Waddles thought I was gonna leave him, and I nearly had to, but Grunkle Stan and Grunkle Ford made the bus driver take him aboard—of course he was happiest on that day!
"Oh, yeah," Mabel said. "Our birthday was yesterday. We turned thirteen."
"Technical teens," Wendy said with a ghost of a grin. A tear ran down her cheek.
"But you don't have to cry," Mabel said.
"I—I guess I can tell you a secret," Wendy said. She sat on the log, and Mabel sat beside her. "See, Dipper admitted to me a while back that he has a crush on me. I already knew, but I had to let him down. You know, me fifteen, him twelve. But now he's going away, and I'll never see him again, and—I just can't tell him I'm kinda-sorta in love with him, too. It's hard, Mabel."
Mabel bit her lip. "Listen," she said. "I may get in big trouble because of this, but—OK, I'm gonna say it. You gotta give Dipper a note. Have all his friends here sign it. You sign it, too. Here's the most important part—write on it 'See you next summer.' And wait for him. He'll come back. And he'll grow up, Wendy. And if you wait for him—it's gonna happen. I promise. Just stay in touch, and—most important—when the time comes, the age difference won't mean a thing."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Trust me, I know. OK, I've got a few hours today. I'm gonna stay close to the Shack and get in as much time with Waddles as I can. Then I'm going back to the future, and thirteen-year-old Mabel and Dipper are going back to Piedmont. But he doesn't just have a crush, Wendy. He really and truly loves you. So write the note, give it to him before he gets on the bus, and things will all work out. Promise me?"
"Yeah. I promise."
"Oh—and tell Grunkle Stan that when the time comes for us to leave, to make sure Waddles gets on the bus, too! I—Oh, I love you like a sister, Wendy! You won't believe how happy you're gonna be with Dip."
"That—that means a lot to me, Mabes," Wendy whispered.
"OK, you'd better get back. Don't say anything to anyone about this. Be sure to do the note thing. Oh, and Wendy—do me one more favor?"
"Sure, what?"
"Tell Pacifica that Mabel's waiting—in the future. Don't explain."
"All right," Wendy said with a lopsided smile. "I'll do it." She mimed zipping her lip.
The day passed. Out of her eight hours, Mabel spent about three in Waddles's company as her brother and her younger self got ready to leave Gravity Falls. She spent more time standing out of sight, watching things unfold—finally the kids coming out, glum, with their suitcases, the bus pulling up, Dipper and Mabel and—finally—Waddles climbing aboard. And all their friends running as far as they could to see the twins and the pig off.
She stood alone near the Shack. The flash came. Benjamin stood there. "How d-did it go?"
"It went good," Mabel said, handing over the time tape. "I said goodbye." She sniffled and a tear ran down her cheek. "I'll still miss him but I—I can handle it now. Uh, how much time has gone by while I—?"
"A m-minute," Blendin said. "Well, I-I g-guess we're e-even."
"Thanks, Blendin. Goodbye."
"N-no, I d-don't think it's g-goodbye," he said, smiling. "I'll s-see you again. In time."
He flashed out of existence.
"Aunt Mabel!" It was red-headed Amanda, running down the hill to meet her. "Hi!"
Mabel swept her up in her arms. "Hi, Sweetie! Where's your bro-bro?"
Squirming, Amanda laughed. "He can't find his shoes!"
Carrying the six-year old up the hill to the Shack, Mabel laughed. "When your dad was six, he had the same problem! All the time! Every morning!" She paused and looked back at the green grave. "Hey, let me tell you a story about the most special pig in the whole world," she said, and they went back to join the family.

It's Never Wrong When You're In Love...
I haven’t felt this type of thing in a while. I thought I lost myself in love until I found you.
- “Natural” Sabrina Claudio
I’m telling you right now from this day on, I’ve already weighed out the pros and cons, your just the woman I want.”
-"4evermore" Anthony David (ft. Algebra)
Tumblr media
“Mrs. Jordan,” Michael leaned over and whispered in his bride’s ear. “Yes, Mr. Jordan?” Zoe beamed as she and her new husband waited for their cue to walk into the reception party. “You look absolutely breathtaking today. Coming down that aisle I was watching you like hot damn that’s my lady,” Michael grinned as Zoe slapped his arm, laughter falling from her lips. “Shut up, you were crying too,” the bride reminded, allowing Michael to wrap his arm around her waist.
“Yeah but that was the internal monologue,” he insisted as one of the tech workers handed each of them a microphone. The intro to “4evermore” by Anthony David began to blare on the other side of the banquet hall doors. “You ready?”
Zoe nodded and took her husband's hand. The doors opened on cue and the couple walked in belting their respective parts of the song.
“Forever’s a mighty long time but I really wanna spend it with you. I shine when you shine. There's really no substitute. 4evermore,”
The two danced around each other singing along with the track. The audience joined in clapping as the newlyweds continued their performance. “I’m making my plans just to be with you. It’s you and me, babe, till the days are through, And I ain’t ashamed, love, to say I do,” Michael crooned
They went through the chorus again before Zoe got her chance to shine, consequently surprising the guests who’d never heard her sing, “Pick a tree to carve our names, let the world know it’s not a game. Last longer than a wedding ring, generations tattooed with the love we bring. From the seeds we sow, to the time it takes to grow. Long enough to show you, I won’t let go of you. Without you, I'm incomplete, like this love song without this beat. I’m saying you are the man I need,” Zoe sang causing the crowd to erupt in cheers.
“I didn’t know Zoe could sing,” Shuri leaned over to her brother who was carrying both of his children in his arms. “She doesn’t often, but she’s great,” he nodded, trying to stop the regret flooding through his veins by bouncing his fussy two, almost, three-year-olds. He watched as their mother spun and sang with her husband. A man that wasn’t him. A man who was making her laugh and having fun on the dance floor as Camden started the rap verse in the song. His attention was then pulled to Nakia, as she laughed and danced on the sidelines of the dance floor cheering on Zoe and Michael with the rest of the bridesmaids and groomsmen.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, give it up for the new Mr. And Mrs. Michael B. Jordan. That was the best wedding entrance I’ve ever seen,” the DJ announced as the crowd began settling back in their seats. Zoe-Iman laughed as Michael handed over their mics and pulled her in close for their first dance. “I’m serious, who giving the new Mrs. Jordan a record deal, cause sis got some mad pipes. I know all this money in here, there’s gotta be a music exec looking for fresh talent. But, imma get off my soapbox so this new union can enjoy their first dance as husband and wife.”
Soon, “Butterflies Pt.2” by Queen Naija was drifting from the speakers as Michael gently swayed with his new wife, the couple singing along softly to each other. “You going to ask Nakia to dance?” Shuri caught her brother’s attention as she grabbed her niece from his arms. Not wanting to be left behind, Meluzmi began wriggling from his father’s arms to get down to the floor with his sister. “I don’t think Nakia wants to talk to me.” The king glanced again at his ex-wife dancing with Camden. “Nonsense, you all were friends first,” Ramonda interrupted, stooping to kiss both of her grandchildren. “That is why your father, and hers, thought you would make a great match.”
“You all are running the country well together, for over a year now.” Shuri pointed out smiling as the toddlers began bopping along to the song with each other. “Business conversations do not mean she will want to dance with me. Besides, she seems like she is having a good time with Camden.”
Shuri shook her head, “I’m taking the twins to dance, Mama, do something with him please,” the now 19-year old shook her head and headed towards the floor as the song shifted, signaling that other couples could join the wedding party on the floor. “Dance with me,” Ramonda extended a hand and the son turned king accepted and escorted her onto the floor.
“You know,” the queen mother started a few seconds later, “the first time you brought Zoe home, I was sure that within a year or two, you’d be telling your father you wanted to marry her.”
T’Challa smiled, “I was that obvious?”
Ramonda chuckled, “Painfully. You were looking at her like a lovesick fool the whole time she was there. Your father tried several times to give you his permission to date him. Even blatantly asking if you all were dating, but you were so stubborn.”
T’Challa looked away and swallowed, “It was not my finest hour and it will forever remain one of my biggest regrets, but I am happy for her.”
“You are, but you are also jealous. Zoe gave you plenty of chances, she even bore your children T’Challa but you were so stubborn, you lost your chance. Now that she’s happy, you should try to find happiness of your own. If not with Nakia, try again with someone. Don’t spend your life believing these were the only two women who could ever have been a great wife. Zoe found her happiness, Nakia is working on hers, it’s time you find your own.”
“Umama-” the king started. “Happiness outside of your children T’Challa, you need adult company too. Company you actually like, the elders don’t count.”
The king sighed and glanced across the room, “I’d like to try again, but I fear I will always wonder what Nakia and Zoe think of her.”
“That is your problem, you always wonder what everyone else is thinking, son.”
“You loved Zoe, but you were so afraid that we would hate her, you hid her and lost her. You had feelings for Nakia, but you wondered what she would think about what you had done to Zoe, so you pushed her away. Stop wondering what one girl will think about the other. Find your happiness, then bring her around. You always attract wonderful people, and we all always love each other. Think about it son, who else’s ex-wife is good friends with the woman her husband was cheating and had children with?”
Ramonda laughed, watching Zoe and Nakia dance with the rest of the wedding party. The king joined in chuckling as his mother continued, “Stop pitting the women against each other before they can even meet. Just let yourself fall in love freely son. We just want you to be happy.”
Zoe instinctively held her head further back as a smirk crossed her new husband’s lips. “Now, Michael, this is a very expensive white dress-”
“And you look beautiful baby-,” he raised his hand with a piece of cake in it closer to Zoe’s face. “Michael,” Zoe whined as his smirk turned into a full-on grin, “What? I’m just trying to feed my beautiful wife.”
“No, you are not!” Zoe laughed and dodged Michael’s hand, “I don’t wanna ruin my makeup, I paid a lot for it,” the bride pouted. “Fine,” the groom sighed, “I’ll be on my best behavior.”
“Thank you,” Zoe beamed and allowed him to feed her the piece of cake, she leaned in, kissed his lips, and smashed the piece of cake and icing onto his face, “Gotcha,” she cackled as Michael wiped icing from his mouth. The guests doubled over in laughter as he wrapped a giggling Zoe up in his arms and shook her. “You play dirty,” he laughed. “Mama!” two voices cried out as Ka’aulani and Meluzmi ran to their mom and stepfather. “Cake,” Meluzmi pleaded and his twin nodded her head in agreement. “Okay baby, “Zoe smiled. Michael cut them two small pieces and handed Zoe a plate. The caterers took over cutting up the rest of the large cake for the couple as they led their children over to the main table.
Michael took his self-proclaimed best friend Meluzmi in his lap and let him try and figure out how to spear the soft pieces of dessert, before eventually helping him out. Not wanting her daughter to ruin her dress or hair, Zoe still couldn't understand how so much of the toddler’s meals ended up in her curls, the mother alternated between feeding the toddler and herself. The small family sat sharing cake in silence, bobbing softly to the beat of Kiss Me More while watching their guests tear it up on the dance floor and fight over pieces of cake. “There you two are!” Shuri sighed obviously frustrated, “ T’Challa is gonna kill me, he wanted me to keep them so you could enjoy yourself.”
“Girl,” Zoe dismissed. “He will be fine. My babies just wanted some cake and their mommy.”
On cue, the twins giggled. “Are you having fun?”
Shuri shrugged, I’m just glad to see you happy,” The teen admitted. “Yeah but you’re young, you should be out dancing, and not with two-year-olds.”
“I got a cousin, he’s 20, but I think y’all get along great,” Michael grinned and called the boy over. As predicted he and Shuri hit it off and as the party forged ahead, the couple saw the two dancing and shared a fist bump. “We’re definitely the matchmaking couple,” Zoe beamed.
As the party began to wind down hours later, T’Challa approached the couple for the second time that day and cleared his throat. “My mother and I were about to leave, I was gonna take the twins,” the king gestured towards the children sleeping peacefully, each spread over two chairs pushed together. “Oh okay, thank you for coming and babysitting,” Zoe Iman Jordan hugged her former best friend, ex-lover, and the father of her children, “I’m gonna go say goodnight to mama,” she squeezed Michael’s hand before leaving in search of the older matriarch. “I’ll help you grab the kids, '' Michael broke the silence.
T’Challa nodded and they grabbed the slobbering children from their makeshift beds and headed out of the venue to the cars. Once both twins were buckled, they leaned against the car awaiting the women’s arrival. “Michael thank you.”
“For what?” The actor turned to the monarch. “For loving Zoe and for bringing the light back to her life. For taking care of her and loving my children as your own, even when I wasn’t man enough to do the same.”
Michael nodded, “You know for the longest I hated you. I didn’t understand how one man could be so self-involved he couldn’t see how amazing of a woman he had right in his hand. I hated that you messed with Zoe’s head, made her second guess herself. Then I finally got her to a good place, she opened up, we were having a good time, then she found out she was pregnant. You wouldn’t even text her back about your own kids.” T’Challa nodded and shoved his hands in his pockets, “If I could do it all again, I would do it differently believe me.”
I know,” the groom agreed, “but everything happens for a reason. I don’t approve of what you did, but if you had been a good partner, I probably wouldn’t be married to the love of my life right now. So I forgive you. And those kids, they are like my own. I am beyond glad that you’ve stepped up for them. I want them to have their father and a bonus father in their lives. You stay involved and love them, then there are no hard feelings between us.” The acclaimed actor extended a hand and T’Challa accepted his handshake. “You have my word, I’m never leaving them again.”
“Good.” Michael leaned back against the car and crossed his legs, hands stuffed in his tuxedo pockets. “So what’s next for you?” He asked a few beats later.
T’Challa exhaled, “I’m not sure, but I do know I wanna get my life back on track. Find someone and treat her right.”
“Then you do that man,” they stood up off of the car as Ramonda approached. “I just wonder what she’ll think of this family. It’s all a little bizarre isn’t it?”
“Yeah most baby mamas and ex-wives aren’t best friends, especially under our circumstances, but if she loves you and you love her, there’ll always be room in the family.”
“I appreciate that Michael.”
“Shuri staying with Nakia?” The actor asked when the queen mother reached the car. “Yes, she and your cousin have taken quite a liking to each other,” Ramonda raised an eyebrow. “You know me and Zoe will watch out for her,” Michael reassured. “I know, that is the only reason I’m letting her stay,” Ramonda answered.
“We’ll get her back to you safely later tonight. I promise,” The actor shoved his hands in his pocket and stepped back. “I guess we better get going then-”
“Wait,” Zoe walked out of the venue over to the car. “I didn’t get to kiss my babies goodbye,” the mother pouted. Michael laughed as T’Challa rolled his eyes. “Boy, don’t roll your eyes at me before they get stuck like that.” She slapped his chest before opening the car doors and kissing both of her toddlers.”
“Okay, we will swing by to pick them up after we get back. And you have everything packed for them right? You have Meluzmi’s inhaler, and enough clothes and replacement outfits? You got the earplugs too right? They hate heights and the sounds of the plane's engines when-”
“Zoe they will be fine. T’Challa reassured. “And if I don’t have it, you know my mother will make sure they get it. They will be fine. I can do this,” The king grabbed both of her hands and squeezed them gently. “I know, I know,” the young mother sighed, “This is just the longest I have been away from them ever and I’m nervous.” Michael moved up to wrap an arm around his wife’s waist and press a kiss to her forehead. “ Everything will be fine,” he soothed. “I know-”
“Then stop worrying,” T’Challa offered a sad smile, “You deserve this, to be happy, to have a break, to enjoy your honeymoon. You are an excellent mother Zoe, but they have a father too. So enjoy your break, enjoy your marriage. I promise they will be just as alive and happy as they are now when you get back from your trip.”
Zoe nodded and sighed, finally stepping back from the car with Michael at her side. “Okay, see you in three weeks. Thank you all again.”
“Anytime, you know I love my grandbabies.” Ramonda hugged the bride once more before closing the door facing the twins and taking a seat in the backseat next to them. “Ayy, Mike, it’s almost time for the garter toss,” Two of the groomsmen waved the couple over but T’Challa reached for Zoe’s hand. “Can we talk?”
Zoe nodded at her husband letting him know she was okay, he looked the king over once more before heading inside to watch from the doorway. “What’s up?”
“I just wanted you to know that you were right.”
“About what?” the bride squinted. “About deserving to be with someone who can say they love you in and out of the bedroom. You deserve someone who loves you out loud, and I’m glad you found it in Michael.”
Zoe smiled softly, “Thank you. I hope you find the same for yourself. We both deserve someone.”
“I think I already did but I kind of fucked it up...twice,” the king chuckled. “I’ll keep you updated on that front though.”
Zoe Iman nodded. T’Challa gestured to the doorway, “I think you better go though, your husband hasn’t stopped watching.” Zoe laughed, glancing over her shoulder at Michael who was, sure enough, watching from the door. “Yeah... Goodbye T’Challa.” Zoe pulled the king in for a hug before placing a kiss on his cheek.
“Goodbye, Zoe… I love you,” he sighed once she had walked off out of earshot.

Robstar Week Day 7: Looking Back, Moving Forward (Prompt: Together)
Those of you who have read my previous year's fics may already suspect what this one will be about, based on the fact that it hasn't shown up yet. Yup, it's time for this year's Royal Family Verse fic! For those of you who don't know what the Royal Family Verse is, it's a kind of special "side" continuity that I set one of each year's Robstar Week entries in. To summarize, when Galfore suffers a debilitating injury and chooses to abdicate to Starfire rather than risk being overthrown by a strong but foolish challenger, Robin chooses to go with her and marriage and emperor-consort-hood kind of inevitably ensue. If you're interested in reading more from this 'verse, feel free to check out "A New Life" from 2020 and "These Winding Halls" from 2019 (or just check the “Royal Family Verse” tag on my blog). While I decided pretty quickly that "Together" would be the prompt of choice for the RFV fic, I actually had a little difficulty deciding what specific event to write about... my first idea turned out kind of meh, while my second one ended up being something I realized I wanted to write as more of a standalone fic. With that in consideration, it might not take a full year for the next RFV story to come out...
Anyway, I suppose that does it for this year's Robstar Week. Thanks for joining the fun, everyone, and see you next year!
Looking Back, Moving Forward
It was a scene that, just a few months ago, he would not have expected to see again. Starfire on a high palace balcony, Tamaran's pinkish-purple sky above her, a cheering throng of Tamaraneans below. The strange upright crown of the planet's royalty resting almost a little awkwardly on her brow.
There were differences from the last time, of course. He could have sworn the crowd was more than twice as big, now — the result, no doubt, of a transition of power planned ahead, rather than won in an impromptu duel. Galfore himself had traded her princess' diadem for the larger crown of the Grand Ruler moments ago, to the still-roaring delight of those below. Life had been so much simpler, he thought wryly, when it had been the other way around.
The biggest change had been Galfore's doing as well. He had wanted his last act as Grand Ruler to be something meaningful, something that made his bumgorf truly happy before she had such great responsibility thrust upon her. That was why, now as she prepared to address her people, the new empress still wore a wedding gown that she seemed far more comfortable in than her last.
It was also why Robin — though he supposed he had to use his new Tamaranean name now — waited in the wings just a little behind her, dressed in its partner.
Mar'ikesh's, or Nightwing's, mind was still reeling from the events of the day, and what they would mean for himself and Starfire alike. For the moment, though, he forced those thoughts down to listen to her words.
"Just a few years ago, I stood on this balcony and declared that I was not best for Tamaran," she began. "I still believe that, at the time, that was the case. I had been away for too long, and my heart still belonged too much to Earth."
Nightwing felt himself tense up; her heart still belonged to Earth, he knew, and it took all of his willpower not to look back at where their friends watched from their places of honor or step up to lend a comforting presence while she had to put on a brave face. Not yet. You'll have your moment.
"Further, it would not have done well, so soon after my sister's coup, to begin a reign with further violence among family."
Here Starfire paused for just a moment, taking a deep breath too quietly for the microphone hidden in the balcony to pick up. She chanced a quick glance back at him, and he offered her a small but encouraging smile.
"But much has changed since then," she went on, her voice growing stronger. "Galfore's wisdom and courage has served you all well, and I will cherish his guidance in the years to come. But if he believes that I am ready for this position, then I know that I must be. And I will do everything in my power, through my own experience, to ensure that Tamaran continues to prosper. This I promise you today."
Another wild cheer rose up, and Starfire's face shone with more confidence than Nightwing had seen in the past month. She turned to him, smiling, and held out a hand.
Now was the time.
Nightwing stepped forward and slipped his hand into hers, and she pulled him over to join her by the balcony wall. He tried not to think too hard about the size of the inhuman crowd, or the snatches of conversation in a language he was only just beginning to learn, or the odd weight of the diadem on his forehead.
"And as for my heart," she said a little more softly, still looking into his eyes with that gentle smile on her face, "a part of it has chosen to join me here, so that I may not be distracted by thoughts that I have left another home behind."
She returned her attention to the assembled Tamaraneans. "Mar'ikesh is one of the most brave and noble people I know, and it is my great pleasure to introduce him to those of you who have not seen him already. Si kaxga si darta!"
The crowd repeated that final phrase in chorus, and Nightwing had to swallow a small lump in his throat. It was a Tamaranean saying he had become quite familiar with recently: "Our family is our strength." In this context, he believed it related in some way to how the people saw the royal family as 'Tamaran's family,' but its general form was something he understood clearly enough.
Family. That's what we are now.
Nightwing must have been distracted by those thoughts, because the next thing he knew, he and Starfire were suddenly being scooped up by Cyborg in a big bear hug.
"I can't believe it's finally happening! Our girl's all grown up and ruling the planet!" he half-blubbered, his human eye tearing up while Beast Boy and even Raven came in and joined the impromptu group hug.
"We're really gonna miss you guys," Beast Boy added, his tone more subdued than Nightwing thought he'd ever heard it.
Starfire was tearing up too now — they all were, really — but she shook her head and smiled as the embrace broke apart and she stepped back to look at her former teammates.
"We are not letting you leave so soon," she insisted. "I already told you that this kind of party is sure to last at least a week."
Raven offered a subtle smile of her own. "Don't worry, you won't get rid of us that easily."
Cyborg let out a low sigh and placed a hand on each of the couple's shoulders. "I know, but it's still coming up so fast. You two take good care of each other, y'hear?"
Nightwing took his new wife's hand and shared a look with her. "That's kind of the plan," he said.
And just because the statement was obvious didn't make it any less true. He'd have a lot to adjust to, and even with all her prior training Starfire would too, but it was very much official now that they would go through it all together.
And when they were together, he'd found, there was nothing they couldn't do.

They didn't have time for family hangouts often, with them being nations and all that, but whenever they did, it was safe to say it was the most fun any of them would have that week.
Sometimes, they would just go for a coffee or lunch or have a picnic. Other times, they would binge-watch a series while cuddling on the couch. And then, there were times like this.
"Can't you two sit still for like five minutes? If you want this painting to actually look good, you're gonna have to let me actually have time to paint you!"
"What if we want it to look like Picasso?"
"Laurent, hoepel een eind op, Picasso sucks and so do his paintings."
"Don't let Antonio hear you say that."
"Antonio can go fuck himself."
"Guys, let's keep this fun, alright? I want to enjoy this day," Femke chimed in. Willem huffed but didn't complain further. Laurent grinned and continued composing a piece for the harp standing next to him.
(When Laurent had led them towards his "inspiration room" as he liked to call it, which was just a room filled with instruments, art supplies and more, both siblings had been filled with dread at the thought of Laurent playing the tuba, or god forbid, the trombone. Willem had said: "Laurent, I swear to god, if you're going to play the tuba or the trombone, I'm going to throw both you and the instrument out of the nearest window." To which Laurent had been a smartass and replied, "Can you even lift all that weight though?" That had ended up in a chase through the house that ended when Femke tackle-hugged both.)
The comfortable silence continued for a while, broken only by the occasional sigh from one of the siblings or Laurent trying the piece on the harp.
"Hey, Fem," Laurent walked up to her while he was taking a quick break, "What're you making?"
"Well, I'm trying to embroider our pets, but this stitch just won't work, godverdomme-"
"Maybe you should take a break and come back to it later? It's getting late anyway, we should eat dinner soon," Laurent suggested. Femke nodded. When no conformation came from Willem, they turned to him.
"Hey, earth to Willem! Did you hear what we just said?" Laurent asked, walking up to him and quickly stopping next to him. "Nondikass!" He exclaimed. "Willem, that looks amazing! How'd you do that in such a short time?!"
Femke, now curious, walked up to her brothers and peeked over their shoulders. "What the fuck, Willem," she gaped at the painting in front of her. It was clearly her and Laurent doing their respective hobbies, with beautiful lighting and background. The vibrant colours of the front of the painting was a stark contrast to the background, which had much softer tones. "You told us you were rusty! What part of this is rusty?!"
Willem, who was now looking more like a tomato, opened his mouth, no doubt to point out all the things that were wrong with it, but Laurent cut him off. "Nope, Mr. Perfectionist, you're not pointing out all the imperfections of this, and that's final. This is a masterpiece, seriously. Don't give me that look!"
"You know," Femke mused, "I might actually hang this in my house once it's dry."
"Guys," Willem said, flustered, "It's not that good. Really. Thanks for the compliments, but-"
"No buts!" Femke exclaimed at the same time Laurent yelled: "Not that good?!"
"Yeah, it's... the colour's off, the perspective is weird, and-"
"I am this close to actually strangling you with your scarf, Willem," Femke cut him off, her hands on her hips. "So what if it isn't perfect? That doesn't make it look any less amazing! I'll tell you what, we're gonna take a break, then we're going to come back here, and you'll see how amazing this actually looks."
Willem looked at her for a few seconds before sighing. "Fine..."
"Now don't go around brooding like that, it's no fun," Laurent said while shooting Femke a quick thumbs-up. Femke grinned.
"Now, come on! I'll make waffles!"
---
"Hey, Matthew replied!" Laurent exclaimed, effectively cutting off Willems' story on the antics of Abel and Sjoerd.
(Apparently, they had gotten into a fight over who had the most creative curse words. This had ended in Abel singing along to the curse word song in Dutch, until Lieke walked in. Sjoerd had promptly slapped a hand over Abel's mouth to stop him from ‘tainting Lieke's innocence’. It was weird.)
"What do you mean?" Willem asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Well, dearest brother of mine," Laurent replied with a shit-eating grin, which did absolutely nothing to ease Willem's worries. "Because you didn't seem too convinced by us literally shouting how amazing your painting was, we decided to send a picture to Matthew-"
"You what?!"
"-to see what he thinks of it," Laurent continued, unfazed. "Since, you know, you seem to care a lot about what they think, about as much as you care about what we think? I mean I would hope so, considering we're your siblings, but-"
"You're getting off track, Laurent," Femke cut him off. "Anyway, we figured that if anyone other than us would manage to convince you that your painting is amazing, it's gonna be Matthew."
"I-"
"Don't even try to deny it. We went to your wedding, remember? We know how much you care about him. Which is a good thing, by the way. So, Laurent, what did they say?"
"Well, there's an all-caps keysmash, followed by an all-caps 'what?!'. Scratch that, basically everything is in caps. So, the general train of thought is 'what the fuck, this is beautiful, how the fuck did he do this, he calls this rusty?!' And finally, 'I love it 10/10 would hang in my living room and/or show off to my family and friends. It's beautiful and I'll physically fight him on that.'"
"Awww, that's so sweet! See, Willy, your painting truly is amazing!" Femke, sporting a somehow genuine but shit-eating grin, patted her brother on the back. Said brother had his head in his hands and may or may not be crying.
"I hate you two," came the muffled reply with no real heat behind it. Femke and Laurens laughed.
"We love you too, you softie! Now come on, who's ready to spend more time together!" Femke cheered, already halfway across the room.
---
"Jezus Christus, Femke, that looks amazing!" Willem said, looking at the embroidery his sister had made. It pictured their pets, Pelutze, Mika, and Nijntje.
"Aww, thanks Willem!"
"Wait, let me see- wow, sis, this is really good! I love it!"
"Thank you, Lau! By the way, is your composition nearly finished? I want to hear it!"
"Me too, actually."
"Well, it's not done yet, but I can play what I have so far?"
"Yes please!" Femke smiled.
Laurent sat down and started playing the piece of music he had written on the harp. Moving his fingers delicately along the strings, the beautiful melody carried along the room. Once he was done, he looked up.
"So... what did you think- Femke are you okay?!"
"Yeah, sorry, it's just... it's so beautiful!" Femke cried, flinging herself at Laurent and crushing him in a hug.
"I agree with Femke, it was wonderful," Willem chimed in, walking over to his siblings. Femke quickly included him in the hug.
"You two are so talented, what the hell!"
"Fem, you're crushing me," Laurent gasped. "And don't you dare exclude yourself, have you seen what you just made?!"
"Yeah, but-"
"No buts, remember," Willem said, parroting her words back to her with a smirk.
"Why are you like this?"
Willem laughed at this. "You still love me despite it, though!"
"That's not an answer!"
"Is it not?"
"Absolutely not!"
"Guys, please stop. This is a stupid argument," Laurent rolled his eyes.
"Rolling your eyes at us? How rude, Lau," Willem said, locking him in a headlock and ruffling his hair.
"Hey, let me go!"
"Hmmm, let's see... Nope."
"Oh, come on! Fem, help me out here!"
Femke just laughed in response.
"Betrayal!" Laurent screeched, struggling to get out of his brother's headlock. Femke just laughed harder in response, almost falling over.
"You know, you could always just say the magic word to get out."
"The magic- What am I, five?"
"You certainly act like it sometimes."
"Fëck dech."
"Real mature, Laurent."
"Oh, like asking for the magic word is so mature."
"Absolutely. I haven't heard it yet, by the way. Femke, are you doing alright?" Willem asked, as his sister was now lying on the floor, tears streaming down her face. Gasping for air, she shook no.
"Seems like you'd better let me go before we make Femke choke," Laurent commented. Willem tsk-ed.
"Fine, fine. Fem, get up," he said, letting Laurent out of the headlock and extending a hand towards Femke.
"Give- give me a... minute," she said, still gasping for air. After she managed to get enough air in her lungs and not burst out laughing after she saw her brothers standing in front of her with worried (albeit semi-irritated) looks, she finally took Willem's offered hand.
"You two are utter morons."
Willem gasped. "Are you hearing this, Laurent? Slander, complete and utter slander!"
"Well, she's right about one of us, and it isn't me."
"Laurent, ik tyf je de Noordzee in als je niet ophoudt-"
"Try me, old man-"
"Who're you calling old you little-"
''Oh for- hou uw bakkes! If this becomes another argument, I will smother both of you!''
''You wouldn't dare,'' Willem said. After a beat of silence and a fierce glare from Femke, he added: ''Would you?''
''I don't know, why don't you find out?''
''Fem, you're scaring me a bit here,'' Laurent said nervously. Femke hummed. Laurent looked at Willem, wide-eyed. Willem just looked back and shrugged.
''Could you even reach me though?'' Willem, who apparently had a death wish, asked.
Femke whipped around, glaring at her brother. Willem just glared back.
''Guys, no, no one's getting killed today,'' Laurent interjected. ''This is supposed to be a fun family meeting, remember? If there's any way anyone's going down,'' he added on, a devilish grin on his face as he slowly inched closer to his still glaring siblings, ''It's going to be this way!'' he yelled as he quickly poked Willem in his side, who immediately yelped and tried to get away. To no avail, because Femke quickly latched onto his arm and started poking him in his side too.
''No, Fem, wait- What did I do to deserve this?!''
''Well, uh... you took the last waffle?''
''Are you asking me, or-'' Willem started to ask, then yelped again as his siblings started to tickle him.
''No! Please, mercy!''
''Hmmm, Lau, what do you think? Should we stop?'' Femke asked, looking at her younger brother.
''I don’t know, Fem,'' Laurent answered back, devilish grin still on his face. ''He hasn’t said the magic word yet.''
''Godverdomme, natuurlijk is dat het antwoord. Kut! Laurens, stop!''
''Hmm, let me think. Nee.''
Femke snickered. ''He looks like a worm, wiggling like that.''
''How the fuck-''
''Oh my god you're so right,'' Laurent said. ''Willem the worm,'' he started to say, but burst out laughing halfway through. Femke laid on top of Willem, wheezing. Willem, meanwhile, looked absolutely mortified.
''You two are so immature,'' he said.
''Says the guy currently laying on the floor because he's ticklish.''
''I will strangle you,'' Willem threatened.
''Try me, bit- Hey!'' Laurent started to say, before Willem had reached forward and pulled him besides him.
''You know, this is actually surprisingly comfortable,'' Femke commented after a beat of silence.
''No, you're heavy. Get off me- Lau don't you dare lay on top of Femke or I swear- oof!''
''Hmm? What was that?''
''I'll kill you.''
''Aw, we love you too!''
''... Ugh, fine, if I say it, will you get off?''
''Maybe!''
''You two are gremlins, oh my god. Fine, I love you too.''
''He said it! Lau, he said it!''
''Yeah yeah, we all heard it. Now get off me.''
''I mean... technically I never promised I'd get off-''
''Off. Now. Or I'll never bring you stroopwafels again.''
This earned him a scandalized gasp from both of his siblings.
''You’re so mean! How dare you deprive us of stroopwafels?!''
''You can't do that!''
''You two are impossible. I said off,'' Willem complained, trying to sit up. Which was hard, considering Femke was literally laying on top of him.
''Say the magic word first.''
''Are you serious right now? Femke, we are not five.''
''So?''
''... Fine. Femke, can you please get the fuck off me?''
''Fine, close enough,'' she said as she got off Willem, who immediately took a deep breath.
''Finally, oh sweet air how much I've missed you.''
''You’re so weird. Anyway,'' Femke said, turning towards Laurent. ''You recorded the whole thing, right?''
Laurent laughed and rolled his eyes. ''Like you had to ask.''
Willem gaped at them, before jumping up. ''Godver- Laurent give that camera here, right now!''
''No, I don’t want to. I must say this is great blackmail material.''
''Laurent, als je nu niet die camera hier geeft, dan-''
''Du muss mech als éischt fänken!''
Needless to say, Willem ended up chasing Laurent through the house, Femke following closely behind. In the end, all three of them ended up in a dogpile on the couch, laughing. Yeah, family meetings were fun indeed.
-------------------------
Translations:
Hoepel een eind op (Dutch) = a nice(ish) way of saying ‘fuck off’ or ‘go away’
Godverdomme (Dutch, Flemish) = goddammit
Nondikass (Luxembourgish) = used as an exclaimation, meaning something like ‘damn’.
Jezus Christus (Dutch) = Jesus Christ
Fëck dech (Luxembourgish) = Screw you
Ik tyf je de Noordzee in als je niet ophoudt (Dutch) = I will throw you into the North Sea if you don't stop. (The word ‘tyf’ is pretty rude though, albeit used by a lot of teens in my experience, so I would not recommend going around actually saying this.)
Hou uw bakkes (Flemish) = shut up
Godverdomme, natuurlijk is dat het antwoord. Kut! (Dutch) = ‘Goddammit, of course that's the answer. Fuck!’ (even though the word 'kut’ doesn’t mean ‘fuck’, it's used as a replacement pretty often. The more accurate translation would be ‘vagina’, as that is literally what it means, but it's used as a curse word more often than not.)
Nee (Dutch, Flemish, Luxembourgish) = No
Laurent, als je nu niet die camera hier geeft, dan- = Laurent, if you don't give me the camera right now, then-
Du muss mech als éischt fänken! (Luxembourgish) = youre gonna have to catch me first!
Stroopwafels are a Dutch delicacy, I love them so much. Basically, they’re waffles with syrup in between. Google them for examples and probably a better explanation.
I am physically incapable of not adding in a sprinkle of NedCan. I'm sorry (but actually not really,, as stated, Willem and Matthew are married so technically Matthew is family- *gets smacked*)
The ending is more crack and longer than I intended because I have no self-control. Sue me.
Moral of the story: don't anger short ppl. They’re angrier cuz they’re closer to hell-
Yes Willem is ticklish, I said what I said.
Bonus scene: ''Wait, so if Willem is a worm, would Matthew be like... a moose?''
''I am begging you two to stop. Laurent, stop laughing!''

There was his parents, 5 sisters, and 3 brothers (and him kinda being the middle child)
His mother spoiled you and his father adored you
His sisters wanted to know if he was a pain for you and his brothers also adored you
“So when are you to going to have pups of your own?”
“DAD!!”
Liam
When you first met Liam’s family, you swore your heart was gonna explode
His mom is super sweet to the both of you
His little brother and baby sister are ridiculously adorable
Liam’s mom did show you a couple of his baby pictures (Liam got so embarrassed)
Liam’s little brother asked you so many questions about you two
“How long have you guys been together?” “Do you have kids?” “Are you guys going to get married?”
“Well I do want to marry them.”
Liam’s mom then rushed over to him
“Oh my little boy is going to have the best wedding ever! Please let me plan it!”
“M-Mom please..”
Milo
Turns out, Milo’s family is shyer than him at times
His parents are really sweet though
“Guys this is my s/o, S/o these are my dads”
Yes he has two dads
During your visit, they were nice enough to make you dinner
“So do you two have kids?”
“Dad!”
“You two didn’t tie the knot yet? We can plan your wedding!”
“Pops!”
Elliot
Elliot’s parents are kinda... traditional
Like monster only relationship type of deal
Not only you, but Elliot was sweating up a storm introducing you to his family
“M-Mom.. Dad.. Th-This is my s/o..”
During your whole visit, you got the Judgmental Parent Stare
After a while his mom warmed up to you.
His dad... Judgment Parent Stare
“We’re so glad that Elliot found someone special to him. So when’s the wedding you two?”
“Mom!”
Onyx
Onyx’s family is.... very rowdy
Super energetic and extremely outgoing
How did this shy cutie come from a family so full of energy?
His dad was very welcoming
His sister asked so many questions about you two
And his little brothers wanted you to play with them
His dad kept asking you about Onyx’s shyness, and if it was troubling or not
“Oh no, not troubling at all! He’s actually coming out of his shell, but slowly.”
Then there was the big question.
“So when am I gonna be an aunt huh?”
Onyx sank in the shadows out of embarrassment.
His sister just had to open her big mouth..
Zayne
Zayne came from a family of tough chicks
Two moms, and he’s the youngest out of his three sisters
“Moms, sisters, this is my s/o”
His family was very nice, but they also embarrassed him so much
“I know for a fact he brags about how strong he is, but we beat his ass every time we play fight when we were younger!”
“Sis!”
His moms made sure his horny-ness was kept to a solid 2, you’ve never seen Zayne so well behaved before
“So when are we gonna have grandkids Zayne?”
“Yeah! We’re ready to be aunts little bro!”
“You guys please!!”
Alexander
When Alexander first introduced you to his parents, they examined you intensely
“They aren’t another succubus are they?..”
“No!”
Alexander was known not to keep a steady relationship with anyone, but that was before he met you
He was determined to prove to his parents that what he has with you is legit.
Soon his parents do see that and are very proud of him
“We’re so happy that our little boy found such a gem like you!”
“Dad...”
“Just give him a little tug on the ear if he give you any trouble, works every time.”
“Father!”
Nathan
Nathan’s parents are also monster only relationship, traditional
When he introduced you to his moms, they thought you were either his walking blood supply or just a phase for him.
“He’s going through that phase you went through dear.”
“Mother, Mom, for the last time I’m a grown man, I’m not going through a phase.. they’re my s/o and I care very deeply for them.”
You were lucky not to get the Judgemental Parent Stare from them
They soon warmed up to you eventually
“As long as Nathaniel is happy, that’s good enough for us!”
You giggled at the name
You walked up beside him
“Nathaniel?”
“Did my mother tell you my full name?...”
Simon
He was excited for you to meet his family
What you both weren’t expecting was EVERYONE in his family to show up
Food everywhere
Music playing
His family is HUGE
His mother, aunts, sisters, and grandparents adored you
His father, brothers, uncles, and cousins just wanted the juicy and embarrassing gossip about him from you
During your time there, you just talked with a lot of his family members
You did play with the little kids that were around and helped with the babies
“They’re so good with the kids!”
“You gonna have some of your own soon?”
“Mama!!”
“I want grandchildren mijo!” (A/n: did I spell that right?...)

Just You, Me, and Our Dogs [Lindsey Horan x Reader]
Tumblr media
thanks to @13uswntimagines for requesting this! it was so much fun to write :)
You plop back down on the couch, next to Lindsey, handing her a cup of coffee. Putting your feet on her lap, leaning back into the couch, you take a sip from your own drink.
Although it had been a nice and sunny day in Portland, which was very rare, you and your girlfriend had decided to have a ‘lazy day,’ spending it wrapped up in blankets, bingeing the new season of The Umbrella Academy.
As the episode comes to an end and the credits start to roll, Lindsey picks up the remote, shutting the TV off. The two of you sit in comfortable silence, as your girlfriend massages your calfs and you sip your latte. After a couple of moments, you can feel the blonde staring at you.
“What?” You let out a little laugh.
“Nothing.” Lindsey hums, still looking at you.
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
“No reason.”
You raise your eyebrow, sensing she isn’t telling you the truth.
“I’m just so glad you’re here.” She relents, giving you a small smile, and your face softens at her answer. You and Lindsey had recently moved in together after winning the World Cup, now living in her apartment in Portland. Despite playing for the Royals, you decided you would live with your girlfriend int he offseason. And although you and Lindsey had been dating for about two years now, the chaos of the NWSL prevented you from living together until now.
Before you could respond, your service dog, Tucker, jumped up on to the couch and right into your lap. You grunt, as the golden retriever steps on your steps on your stomach, knocking the wind right out of you. Both you and Lindsey laugh at the dog’s actions, as the two of you give him a pet and a little belly rub.
“I’m glad I’m here, too.” You look back up at your girlfriend. “I know Tucker’s happy to be here, too, especially with Fergy to keep him company.” You give your dog a good scratch on the head.
—————
Tucker had been your support dog since you were nineteen. After suffering from anxiety and depression all throughout high school, you and your parents decided it would be a good idea to get you an emotional support dog. Tucker had helped ease your anxiety and provided you with companionship when you felt lonely, ultimately decreasing the number of panic attacks and down days you had.
When you had met Lindsey for the first time, Tucker immediately took a liking to the woman, wagging his tail and jumping up onto her. This had been an important factor for you when you and Lindsey had started dating, as you couldn’t see yourself being with someone who Tucker didn’t like or who couldn’t accept you and your need for a support dog. Luckily for you, not only did your golden retriever take a liking to Lindsey, but she also absolutely adored him.
—————
A couple of minutes had passed of you, Lindsey, and Tucker all just laying on the couch, when you heard a noise coming from below you. Looking down, you and Lindsey notice her beige French bulldog trying to jump up on the couch, wanting to join his family.
“Awww, Fergy! You wanna join us?” Lindsey leans down to pick up her dog, placing him on her lap on top of your legs. After giving Ferguson a couple of scratches behind his ears, Lindsey takes in the scene in front of her, her eyes widening, as a lightbulb goes off in her head.
“Hey.” She says, grabbing your attention. “Let’s go take these guys for a walk. They’re probably dying to get out of the apartment.”
You nodded, agreeing with her, as the two dogs had been cooped up inside all day while you and your girlfriend watched TV. Getting up from the couch, you head over to the door, where you keep both your shoes and the leashes.
“Where do you want to go? The park or around the stadium?” You ask, as you slip on your shoes.
“Let’s go to the park.” Lindsey replies, grabbing the leashes off the hook.
—————
The two of you make your way though Portland towards your favorite dog park, where both Tucker and Ferguson can run off leash. You and your girlfriend walk in silence with your hands intertwined, Lindsey occasionally running her thumb across the back of your hand.
When you arrive at the park, you go to unclip Tucker so he can roam free, but Lindsey stops you.
“Wait.” She grabs your hand.
“What?” You turn to her, confused.
“I have something to show you.” She takes Tucker’s leash from you. “So turn around and close your eyes.” You nod along, following her directions.
Although not facing her, you can hear Lindsey whispering to the two dogs and the notorious crinkle of the treat bag. You bite your cheek, attempting to hide your audible giggle.
“Hey! No peeking!” Your girlfriend warns.
“I’m not! Don’t worry.” Your knees bounce in anticipation, as you wait for Lindsey’s permission to turn around.
With one final whisper to the dogs, your girlfriend finally gives you the go ahead.
“Okay. I’m ready. Turn around and open your eyes.”
You turn around, and as you open your eyes, you gasp at the sight in front of you. Lindsey was down on one knee with Tucker to her right and Ferguson to her left. You noticed the frenchie wearing a bib that said ‘will you marry my mom?’, and your own dog had a beautiful diamond ring balanced on his nose. You let out a watery laugh, smiling at both your girlfriend’s and the dogs’ adorableness.
“(Y/N) (Y/L/N),” Lindsey starts, as you lock eyes with her. “I’m gonna keep this short and sweet because I don’t know how long Tucker can balance that ring.” At that, you both chuckle before she continues. “You have made my life a thousand times better and have made me a better person. You are not only my best friend who I can laugh and dance around with, but you are also the love of my life, the one who I can tell all my secrets to and who I can kiss and snuggle with all day long. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, telling you how much I love you each and every day. So, (Y/N/N), will you marry me?”
You barely even let Lindsey finish before you are nodding and exclaiming, “Yes! Of course I’ll marry you.”
With that, Lindsey grabs the ring off of Tucker’s nose and pulls you into a hard passionate kiss. Your lips dance together, as you both put all your love into each other, marking the start of the rest of your lives.
As air becomes necessary, the two of you separate, and Lindsey steadies your shaky hand, as she slips the ring onto your finger. After pecking your fiancée’s lips once more, you kneel down to Tucker and Ferguson, giving them some love.
“You two knew about this? Hmm?” You give them both a good scratch, as they are excitedly running around you and Lindsey, wagging their tails with their tongues hanging out.
“It took me forever to teach Tuck how to balance that ring.” Lindsey admits with a fond smile.
You turn back to your fiancée, as the two dogs finally take off running freely around the park. Pulling Lindsey closer to you, your hand cups her cheek.
“I love you so much.” You whisper, your foreheads coming together.
“I love you, too.” She mumbles against your lips, as she brings you in for another kiss. You bury your face in the crook of her neck, enjoying this moment with your fiancée. Picking your head up, you look at Lindsey and smirk.
“I hope you know that after that proposal, we absolutely have to include Tuck and Fergy in our wedding.”
Lindsey chuckles, placing a kiss on your forehead.
“Whatever you want, (Y/N/N).”

bakugou x reader - demigod/pjo au!
in which the son of ares guides the cute new camper to her cabin
Tumblr media
“dude have you seen the new arrival? she’s smokin’ hot! 10 drachmas says she’s an aphrodite kid.” kaminari, son of apollo, told his friends.
hours ago, kaminari was on his way to bother chiron again, wanting to go on a quest because he was ‘bored out of his mind’ but before he could even get a word out he was met by a stranger. a very beautiful stranger. a stranger who kept glancing down at chiron’s hooves.
ah. she was new to the camp.
chiron was telling the girl about the camp’s layout, pointing over to the volleyball court where kaminari’s sister, jirou, also a child of apollo, was playing with momo who was a daughter of athena.
“i know it’s a lot to process.” chiron said, a sympathetic smile on his face.
“no kidding. the other day i was just taking a nap trying to do my algebra homework and now you’re telling me that greek gods exist and that medusa and minotaurs are real and would very much like to kill me.” the girl said.
“the woes of being a demigod...” chiron mused.
the centaur looked up to see kaminari watching the pair, “ah kaminari my boy, come here.”
‘gladly’ he thought, checking out the girl.
“y/n this is kaminari son of-”
“kaminari, son of apollo. it’s a pleasure.” kaminari grabbed her hand and kissed her hand.
“do all children of aphrodite do this? because i’m more creeped oout by this than any gorgon sister honestly.” y/n said, taking her hand back after kaminari kissed her hand.
“i’m actually a child of apollo but i’m sure that my good looks confused you~ it’s okay~” he chuckled.
“this whole interaction will be so funny if i ended up being a child of apollo.” she suddenly mentioned, which made the blonde-haired boy freeze up.
“i- are you-” he started to say.
“don’t worry though, it’s my mom who left.” she said, with a slightly hurt tone that kaminari picked up on, after feeling the same way for 13 years he could recognize another lonely person from a 100 miles away.
he suddenly smiled, “ don’t worry, you’ll find family at this camp.” he patted her back as he directed her over towards the cabins, waving bye to chiron as he left to scold mineta, a satyr, for harassing yet another wood nymph again
“bet you’re hoping that you’re not part of that family after flirting with me.” she snorted.
kaminari’s face flushed, “it’s a habit!”
currently he was telling the bakusquad (nickname given by mina after the five of them were on a quest) about the girl he was with earlier.
“ i hope she ends uo being your sister. that’ll really teach you not to flirt with every girl you see.” sero, child of hermes, said while shaking his head.
“i guess falling for relatives runs in the family. izuku’s dad for example.” mina joked. izuku’s father, zeus, wed his sister, hera, who had no children at this camp out of loyalty.
“be careful saying shit like that you pink haired dumbass! you never know when zeus is feeling less merciful than usual.” bakugou, son of ares, seethed.
“aww! bakugou~ you care for me~” mina teased the boy who was sharpening his sword.
a pair of crimson eyes rolled as the owner scoffed, “better pray to morpheus because that would only happen in your dream you fucker.”
the group laughed at the blonde boy who continued raging at the pink-haired girl.
“anyways, i’ll take you up on your offer kaminari! we had an aphrodite kid two weeks ago so i don’t think we’d have another one so soon.” kirishima said.
the redheaded son of hephaestus was sitting on the floor, tinkering with some weapons, with sero and mina sitting down with him.
“me too.” bakugou’s gruff voice called out.
the group looked back at him, eyebrows raised.
he gave them a wicked smile, “i’m just praying that she ends up being a child of apollo.” he started to cackle, the rest of the group, excluding kaminari, joining him.
“where is she now? i want to meet her!” sero said, standing up.
“yeah me too!”
“same here!”
“i was going to show her around but then jirou and momo took over. jirou said that i ‘wasn’t to be trusted with any girl’. it hurt! i wasn’t going to pursue her until after she got claimed!” kaminari sighed, shaking his head.
“as they should. they probably saw you kissing the poor girl’s hand and decided to save her.” mina said.
“yeah, yeah, whatever. anyways sero! you ready to fight bakugou?” kaminari said.
the boy got his sword and stood up, “been ready but you were on that tangent about that chick.”
“whatever. anyways let’s start.” bakugou said.
meanwhile while they were fighting, you were with momo and jirou. it really surprised you when you found out that they were brother and sister, given his bold personality and jirou’s chillness.
“okay so sero is going to show you to the hermes cabin, where you’ll be staying at until you’re claimed.” momo explained to you.
“got it! is sero a son of hermes?” you asked.
“yes, he’s been at this camp since he was 12. most of the campers have been here since they were 12 but once in a while we get an older kid like you.” jirou explained.
“how about you guys? how long have you been here?” you asked curiously.
“we actually arrived together. we went to the same school and we er, ran away together after a cyclops attacked us while we were camping.” momo said.
“oh gosh, that was probably terrifying.” you mumbled.
“it was. but luckily there was a satyr there who helped us.” momo said.
talking a bit more, you guys finally made it in front of the arena where sero supposedly was. the arena was a huge conference building that towered over most of the other buildings. it was between the cabins and the armory.
“oh my god, this is the arena?? it looks like the roman coliseum! it’s huge!” you said, amazed by the big building.
“wait till you see the amphitheater and climbing wall.” jirou snickered.
“a climbing wall? what?” you looked at jirou.
momo chuckled, pulling you inside of the building, “come along now.”
walking inside of the building, you were met with about 50 people inside of the building. a few of them spared you a glance or waved to momo and jirou but other than that, everyone went back to their training. the room was lined with dummies and weapons. the sounds of angry grunts, yells, and swords clashing seemed to fill the air as you looked around in amazement.
‘holy shit! that kid’s hands are glowing! and he’s? making the dummy levitate? who is he the child of and can i have magical powers too?’ you thought to yourself.
you looked towards the back of the arena to see a small group circling two swordsmen. one of them had black hair and pale skin, although he seemed to be knowing what he was doing, he was losing to the other guy.
‘oh damn.’ was your first thought when you looked over at the blonde haired boy.
he was tall, with a muscular build that was adorned with a black tank top and sweats which was a bit strange as most of the other campers were donned with the standard orange shirt. but you weren’t complaining. he looked good. his body was coated with sweat, and his muscles flexed with each swing of his sword. he was gaining distance on his opponent. his crimson eyes were narrowed in concentration, a slight scowl on his face as the black haired boy dodged his sword.
that soon ended when the blonde guy suddenly disarmed the ravenette, his sword clanging on the floor as it fell about 5 feet away. the blonde boy had his sword pointing at the other boy’s chest, his own chest heaving up in down.
the black haired boy sighed, with his hands up, “i give up.”
the blonde haired boy smirked, and you could feel yourself almost gasp.
you would’ve believed in all of this greek mythology shit a lot sooner if they showed you this boy. he was literally carved by the gods themselves.
the boy went over to his friends as the small crowd dispersed. a red-haired boy handed him a towel.
“hey sis! hey momo! bold of you to show your faces around these parts when you stole y/n from me.” kaminari said.
jirou rolled her eyes, “i have a legal obligation to protect all women in this world from you. thank god the hunters of artemis haven’t met you. you would’ve been killed on the spot.”
“whatever! hey y/n! missed me?” kaminari said, walking up to you.
“how could i miss the guy who may be my brother even though he flirted with me?” you chuckled.
he suddenly looked up to the sky, “whoever y/n’s parent is please claim her! u-unless it’s you dad!”
they laughed at the boy’s dumb antics. kaminari then took them over to where his friends were sitting.
“hey guys! this is y/n! she’s new here so be nice! looking at you bro~” kaminari said.
you looked over to see he was talking to the guy who won the fight. your eyes made contact with his before he suddenly looked away with a small ‘tch’.
“he’s like that sometimes. you get used to it. i’m kirishima, son of hephaestus, nice to meet you!” the redheaded boy said as he was putting together a weapon. he seemed like a very kind person.
“hey girl! i’m mina, daughter of dionysus!” the girl with pink hair waved to you.
“i’m sero, son of hermes! i’ll show you to your temporary cabin!” the black haired boy grinned.
“nice to meet you all! i’m y/n, like kaminari said and i hope we get along!” you said.
you looked over to bakugou since he didn’t introduce himself yet, “and who might you be?”
“...bakugou, son of ares.” he mumbled.
“son of ares huh? that makes sense. he’s the god of war right? you were amazing with that sword! well granted i don’t know much about swords or anything like that but it looked badass! you too sero, you did amazing!” you said.
“thanks! i wonder what kind of weapon you’ll wield...” sero said as he tapped on his chin.
kirishima suddenly jolted, “y/n! you have to let me build your weapon once you find out what you like!”
you nodded, “of course!”
“we’re gonna be heading out now! bye y/n!” jirou and momo called out to you.
“bye guys, thanks for showing me around," you called out to them.
you turned back to face the group when sero suddenly said, “we should probably head out soon too-” he was interrupted when a young boy around the age of 8 or 9 came up to him,
“sero! you’re still gonna train me right? i haven’t gotten the hang of my new sword that kirishima built for me.” kirishima grinned at the fact that the young boy was taking training so seriously with the weapon he built for the boy.
sero squatted down to the small brunette boy and ruffled his hair, “of course lucas! let’s go over to that dummy to practice!”
“yay! thank you sero!” the boy said, energetically dragging the older boy towards the dummy.
sero looked behind him to look at you, “sorry!”
you only smiled back, “it’s okay!” if a kid as cute as lucas ever asked you to do anything, you didn’t think you could say no to him either.
“well now that sero’s plans have been foiled i will take it upon myself to deliver y/n to the cabin of hermes.” kaminari declared.
“oi dunce face, i’ll take her. after what happened earlier i don’t think you’re to be trusted with another girl for at least another 100 years.” bakugou snorted, earning a laugh from you.
kaminari pouted as bakugou gestured you to follow him. the remaining bakusquad members only stared at the leaving duo as they made their way out of the arena.
“no way.”
“i agree.”
“bakugou just offered to walk a girl back to her cabin? kaminari did you hex me again?” kirishima said.
“so what’s the story behind the nickname dunce face?” you asked as you walked beside the tall boy.
finally being close to him you could see him even closer. he had faded scars littered all over his arms, but there was a scar that was underneath his collarbone that stuck out to you. it was quite big, probably from a monster’s claw. his skin was slightly tanned, from being outside training, you assumed. his spiky hair looked very soft and you had to stop yourself from touching it. but oh lord did you want to pat his head.
bakugou snorted in response to your question, “that idiot was in a prank war with the hermes cabin. he tried to hex them but messed up and ended up hexing himself to be dumber than usual for a whole 24 hours. amusing as it was, it was tiring taking care of him.”
you laughed, “i barely know the guy but i can say with full confidence that that is something he would do.”
his lips quirked up for a second butt you didn’t seem to notice, “yeah he’s a dumbass.”
“how long have you been at this camp? and how long did it take for you to get claimed?” you asked curiously.
he shrugged, “about 6 years. a hellhound attacked me while i was on a school trip but chiron was disguised as my substitute teacher so after a phone call to my mom, we arrived here. it took about 3 days for ares to claim me. it was right after a game of capture-the-flag, my team won courtesy of me. i guess dad was so proud he decided to proudly show me off or something.” he smirked.
“woah, that’s cool!” you said, looking at bakugou in amazement.
“damn right it is.”
a few minutes passed as you guys walked towards the cabin.
“how’d an idiot like you even find this place? a satyr help you?” he suddenly asked.
“yep. his name was mineta, i think? i was about an hour away from this place before a hellhound attacked me. mineta was nearby oogling at some chick and he helped me here.”
bakugou suddenly looked at you, “MINETA? that perverted bastard? i hate his ass, he should be fed to cerberus.”
“i agree with you on that one buddy, while we were hiding he kept on staring at me. what a creep. but he was pretty helpful when we were running away. guess he decided his life was more important than a pair of boobs and actually got serious.”
bakugou’s ears suddenly got very hot as he sputtered, “y-you idiot girl! you’re even more perverted than that dumbass mineta!”
you only laughed in response.
“we’re here.” bakugou said.
you guys had reached the cabins and you were gazing at them in awe. all of them were huge. there was one that was made out of pure gold, one was made of silver, one looked like a mini aquarium, another was covered with barbed wire and housed some very loud kids. you guessed that that one was the ares cabin.
you saw a kid with half red and half white hair come out of the black cabin that looked like a haunted house. he went up to the house in the center of the half circle of cabins to meet up with the green-haired boy walking out of the cabin that had a big lightning bolt etched into it.
“woah…” was the only thing you could say.
“okay bye.” bakugou said, suddenly walking towards the cabin cabin that had a pair of kids wrestling in front of the doorsteps as other kids cheered for them.
“huh? wait!” you grabbed his hand.
“let go of my hand dumb idiot!” he said, a small blush on his face.
“you have to walk inside with me! I don’t know anyone.” you pouted at him.
he rolled his eyes, “only if you let go of my hand.”
once you let go of his hand, you guys headed inside.
the cabin was normal enough, but it was slightly bigger than the other cabins. you assumed it was to take in unclaimed demigods such as yourself. it was filled with about 50 bunk beds. but only about 20 kids were in their bunks, most of them taking naps.
“incoming!” you heard a feminine voice say from above you.
before you could look up, bakugou pulled you into his body as he moved towards the right. a storm of water balloons that seemed to be enchanted was hurled at the stope you were standing at.
“rin! you said you would finally get them outside the cabin this time! at this rate the apollo bastards are gonna win.” you heard a girl say.
“relax yuki! i’m gonna make it this time i can feel it!” rin said.
“sorry about that!” they both called down to you.
you paid them no attention. how could you when you were chest to chest with bakugou right now? you could feel his firm chest against yours and you could’ve sowrn you felt a set of abs underneath that thin tank top.
“dumbass, you didn’t even move out of the way. just accepted your fate, huh?” he teased.
he gently pushed you away and saw the slight blush you had on your face, “did being that close to me have that much of an effect on you?”
“shut up~” you whined as you hid your face in your hands.
he chuckled and you suddenly looked up at him, he was cute when he laughed.
“hey! are you a new camper?” an orange-haired girl walked up to you.
“looks like it, poor thing has been following this aggressive bastard all day. i saw them in the arena!” the blonde boy next to her laughed. he was suddenly elbowed in the stomach by the girl. you decided that you liked the girl.
“i am! y/f/n unclaimed and at your service,” you said.
“so lame…” you heard bakugou mumble underneath his breath. it was now your turn to elbow him.
“i’m kendo! this is monoma! both children of hermes!” the orange-haired girl said.
“i bet she’s a demeter kid. i get nature vibes from her.” monoma said.
“what the tartarus does nature vibes even mean?” bakugou asked. was he getting offended on your behalf? how sweet. also what the hell was tartarus?
“she looks weak-” bakugou’s eyebrow twitched in annoyance at the boy’s response.
“anyways! we’ll take over from here bakugou!” they walked away, motioning for you to follow them.
you took a step towards them before glancing at bakugou, “thanks for bringing me here bakugou! it was nice talking to you, you’re a fun guy to be around!” and with that, you walked away.
‘a fun guy? me?’ a ghost of a smile appeared on his lips.
it suddenly dropped, “oh shit.”
he suddenly looked up towards the sky, “dad, please tell me you kept it in your pants for her mom.”
the sky gave no response.
“ya know, i usually hate the color orange but i’m liking this shirt! makes me feel like i’m apart of something exclusive!” you told kendo as you checked yourself out in the bathroom mirror.
“i know the feeling girlie! but you look good in that shirt! also what’s up with you and bakugou? you two a thing?” she teased to which you blushed in response.
“n-no! i mean he’s cute but-“
“aha! i knew it! you two are so cute! but i’d wait until after you get claimed… ya know… so you know for sure you’re not siblings.”
“oh it’s fine! it’s my mom who’s gone!” you said.
“oh then you’re good!” she smiled at you.
“but does he know that?”
your smile dropped, “uh oh.”
“DUDE! can’t believe you’re in the same boat kaminari was in!” kirishima howled as he clutched his stomach.
“SHUT UP BEFORE I HAMMER YOUR FACE IN WITH THAT NEW SHIT WEAPON YOU MADE!” bakugou growled.
“i mean i would ask her if it’s her mom or dad that’s gone.” kirishima said after calming down.
bakugou went quiet. he often did this when kirishima said something that bakugou did not think of. like this for example.
“thanks.” he mumbled very quietly. to the untrained ear, it would’ve sounded like bakugou said nothing. but kirishima knew better, “go get her buddy.”
it was finally time for the campfire and you were excited! granted, any situation that called for s’mores made you happy. walking to the campfire where most of the students were, you waved at monoma and kendo before heading over to where kaminari and sero were.
“hey guys!” you smiled at them.
“hey y/n! liking the shirt!” sero said.
you laughed, “finally one of you guys!”
“how was the hermes cabin?” kaminari asked you.
“chaotic. there was a prank war going on between your two cabins. but it was kinda fun! monoma swiped me some apollo kid’s bow but i had no idea what to do with it.” you shook your head.
“y/n! hi! ohh i see you’re finally one of us now!” mina said as she arrived with bakugou and kirishima.
“yep!”
“gather around campers!” chiron said before starting the camp fire songs.
you couldn’t really participate, as you didn’t know any of the songs, but you were still enjoying the experience.
“hey.” a gruff voice called out to you, breaking you out of your stupor.
“bakugou! woah you’re actually wearing the orange shirt for a change… consider me impressed.” you teased.
with a minuscule smile on his face, he sat down next to you on the tree log as you both stared into the fire. his body heat was arguably hotter than the fire itself. he was very warm and you wanted to cuddle up in his arms.
“so how was your first day of camp?” bakugou asked.
“kind of crazy honestly, never thought that satyrs or centaurs would exist. nor did i expect to be attacked by a scary ass dog while i was just strolling through the city. but it is nice to finally get some answers as to who i am. plus i met some pretty cool people along the way.” you looked into his eyes and grinned.
he laughed, “yeah, i find kaminari cool as well. even if that shithead is currently burning his tongue with that marshmallow.”
you rolled your eyes and punched his arm, “i hate you.”
“hate me? you’ve literally been following me around today like a little duckling. i don’t know if you could call that hate.” he nudged her with his shoulder.
“who else was going to show me around? kaminari? would you have let him?” you mused, leaning a bit closer to him.
he chuckled, a smile on his face, “maybe, who knows.”
he suddenly realizes that you’re very close to him and he leans back, both of your faces hot.
you realize that you need to tell him about your mother before he decides to stop to pursue you.
“hey bakugou… i need to tell you about my parents…” you suddenly say, bakugou meeting your eyes once again.
“yeah, what about them?”
“well my mother is actually-” you started before you noticed he was staring above your head. you looked around to see almost every camper looking at you. you looked up to see the image of a glowing pink dove.
“huh?” was all you could say before you looked down to see yourself in a white ancient chiton dress. you lifted your dress and saw yourself in golden sandals. your arms were adorned with gold bands. you touched your hair and felt that it was done perfectly. you felt your lips coated with gloss, so you assumed your makeup had been done as well.
“the fuck…?” you muttered before looking up at everyone.
they all were bowing to you, bakugou included.
“all hail, y/n l/n, daughter of aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty.”
“well at least he doesn’t havent to worry now.” kirishima mumbled to his friends.
“nice meeting you camie and shindou!” she waved at the pair. they were her siblings. that would take a while to get used to.
“call me sis!” camie squealed while shindou rolled his eyes at her and walked away towards the rest of the aphrodite kids.
“looks like kaminari didn’t have to worry after all.” you heard bakugou say behind you.
when you turned around to look at him, you felt him suck in a breath. did you look that different?
“looks like it.” you smiled.
“s-so what was that thing you were going to tell me?” bakugou cursed himself for stuttering. but who wouldn’t curse while in your presence? makeover or not, you were still probably the prettiest girl bakugou has ever seen.
“oh… i was going to tell you that my godly parent was my mom, not my dad.” you mumbled.
“oh?” he smirked, “and why did you feel the need to tell me that?”
you rolled your eyes, “you know why you idiot.”
“please enlighten me.”
“it’d be really weird to want to date your brother, so i just gave you the go ahead.” you said, suddenly finding the ground very interesting.
“did aphrodite make you bolder too along with that makeover?” bakugou questioned, snickering to himself.
“huh? i’ve always been bold! remember when i talked about boobs-”
he clamped his hand over your mouth, looking around the camp to make sure no one overheard.
“you’re crazy. wouldn’t be surprised if you were a dionysus kid.”
“whatever…” you rolled your eyes, a smile on your face.
a moment of silence pass as you looked around the camp, many of the campers were heading back to their cabins and you decided it was time to leave.
“i think it’s time i head out, everyone is leaving.” you said.
“see ya.” you heard him ay, a slight look of disappointment on his face.
you took one step towards the cabins before you turned back towards the blonde haired boy, “actually i can’t seem to find my way back to my new cabin. could you help me out?”
he smiled, “you really are a dumbass.”

to have and to hold
Written for @thebuckleysiblingsweek Day 3: “I can't believe you're getting married!” + fluff
.
Maddie squinted, and knocked clumsily on the door. She swayed in place and would've fallen to the floor if she hadn't steadied herself with a hand on the door.
Which was the exact moment her brother decided to open the door.
She tumbled inside, and instead of hitting the floor, she ended up colliding with his chest. He put his arms around her more securely, and she snuggled into his arms. Maddie felt his rumpling laugh against her cheek and found herself giggling.
"You are so wasted," he told her, still laughing.
She pulled back and pointed a finger at him. "I'm just a little tipsy," she protested. "A tiny bit."
"Aha. Come on, let's get you to bed." He hugged her to his side, and kept her from tripping and falling face first multiple times as they made their way up the stairs.
The first sight that greeted her was her daughter asleep in her crib. "Aww, my baby," she whispered as she moved towards her. "I thought she was gonna spend the night with mom and dad," she frowned.
She coould tell, even through the haze of alcohol, that her brother seemed a bit sad; or maybe angry?
"Buck?"
"I think she's just not used to them, Mads. Mom called me a couple of hours ago and told me Ami wouldn't go to sleep, kept asking for you or Chim. I went instead. Didn't tell you cause I didn't want either of you to worry."
She cocked her head to the side and watched him. He seemed a bit nervous, as if he expected her to be angry at him, which was the farthest thing from how she was feeling right now.
"Thank you," she told him softly, her hand on his arm. "For looking out for her, for both of us. Thank you for being there."
He smiled. "Always."
She put her hand on his cheek and rubbed the skin there, and he leaned into her touch.
"Will you walk me down the aisle?"
"What?" He spluttered, obviously surprised and she repeated the question patiently. "Mads- I- but dad's here."
"I've seen dad about four times in the last year, and that's including the video calls." She cleared her throat, and hoped to God the words coming out of her mouth actually made sense. "You've been there for me from day one. You saved me, Buck-"
"That was all you, Maddie," he interrupted her gently.
"I may have been strong enough to run away from Doung, but you gave me a place to run away to. And then you gave me a reason to stop running, to put down roots. It's because of you that I met the love of my life, and it's because of you that I get to marry him exactly one week from now. Through it all, you were my saftey net."
A tear slid down her cheek and he moved to wipe it away. He wasn't actively crying, but his eyes were glassy and red. "I love you little brother."
He pulled her into a tight hug. "Love you too, sis."
"So," she drawled out as she pulled away, smiling and trying to lighten the mood. "What do you say? Will you walk me down the aisle tomorrow?"
He chuckled. "Well, since you asked so nicely-"
She rolled her eyes and playfully punched his arm.
"I'd love to, Mads."
.
She smoothed her hand down the front of her wedding dress, turning thos way and that, and fiddled nervously her ring.
There was a knock on her door, and she turned just in time to see the stunned look on her brother's face as he saw her in her wedding dress. "Maddie-"
She grinned and did a half twirl. "How do I look?"
He came inside and closed the door behind him. "You look beautiful." Her smile widened. "And you look really, really happy."
"I am, Buck. I never-" she shook her head and he put his hands on both her shoulders.
His smile was gentle, and understanding, but then it morphed into something more playful. "I can’t believe you’re getting married. Again."
She smacked his arm and shook her head. "I honestly can't believe it either."
"Are you nervous?"
"A little bit," she admitted. "But I'm mostly really excited to be married to Howie, you know?"
"No, I've never been excited to marry Howi- ow, Maddie."
She poked him in the chest. "You deserved that."
He rubbed his arm in an exaggerated manner, then he dropped the act and grinned and she could practically feel how happy he was for her, and it made her heart full. "Thank you for being here."
"Nowhere else I'd rather be."
She smiled. "Where's Ami?"
"She's with Christopher."
Maddie smiled and shook her head. "I think he might be her favorite person."
Buck laughed softly. "He probably is." His phone pinged with a text and he looked down to read it. "Mom and Dad are here. You've spoken to him, right? About me walking you down the aisle?"
"I did it the Buckley way," she admitted.
"Ahh," he nodded with a teasing smile. "Hit and run, huh?"
She laughed, even though she felt like she shouldn't. "Kind of, yeah."
"Knock, knock!" Josh poked his head in, his smile widening when his eyes landed on Maddie. He entered the room filully and pulled her into a hug. "Maddie- you look beautiful."
"Thank you."
He put his arms on her shoulders and grinned. "It's time. Everyone's out there, and we're all waiting on you."
She blew out a breath, and found herself giggling excitedly, any previous anxiety evaporating.
Josh hurried out, leaving her and Buck alone once again. He offered her his arm, bent at the elbow, and she looped hers through it. His free hand settled on top of hers and he looked down at her, eyes filled with unshed tears. "You ready for this, sis?"
She beamed up at him. "Yes."
.
Walking down the aisle this time didn't feel like the ending of one life and the start of another, it was more along the lines of making an already great life just a little better. Her hands were shaking this time, not because she was afraid, but because she was excited. The only bruises underneath her dress and make up came from bumping into a door at 2 am to get to her daughter, and not from her future husband's heavy hands.
When she looked at him, he was staring at her in awe, his mouth taking on the shape of an O, and the clear appreciation in his eyes had her blushing.
Buck's hand tightened on hers, and once they got to the small three steps, he took it and placed it in Howie's.
The sound of little feet running, broke the hush of silence, and just before her daughter crashed into her legs, Buck swooped in and carried the little girl in his arms, tickling her. Ami giggled loudly, and everyone else followed suit. Buck hefted her up and put her on his shoulders, which she absolutely loved because it made taller than everyone else in the room. Maddie caught his eyes, and gave him a small smile, which he returned with a wink.
When she turned back to Chimney, she found that his eyes were also on Buck and Ami, but they shifted to her almost immediately. His smile was wide, making his eyes crinkle, and she felt an ache in her heart with how much she loved him.
She grinned and mouthed an I love you, and he did the same.
Maddie had honestly never been happier, save for the day their daughter had been born.
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today..."

Reviewing Grey's Anatomy Episodes but this time its Season 17
(To those people on my page who don't watch Grey's Anatomy but are being subjected to this I'm so sorry but I really just like to vent about this show.)
Its season 17 now Yay.
They're dealing with the covid 19 pandemic and I'm sure the writers probably did lots of research to make sure that they had the most accurate representation of the situation in the hospitals and otherwise.
___________________________________________
First we're going to start with the love triangle that is Teddy, Tom and Owen.
Owen
Now this is in no way excusing what he's done in the past for the longest while I've loathed Owen Hunt but..... now I feel sorry for him. He saw he had a problem he went to therapy to get himself right, he was actually a good partner for once and communicated in his relationship, he took his time and didn't jump into marriage spontaneously and then Teddy cheated on him over but dial to be heard by everyone in the operating theater with Owen on their wedding day. (I don't want to sound bad but this might also be karma coming to but him in the ass.) I felt so much 2nd hand embarrassment for him and the pain he had in his face the whole time he pretended not to know about her cheating was just oof. I loved though the end where he drove away for the mean time I really do agree with him taking some time and space before he makes a decision. Most of the times he made a lot of sudden decisions that later came back to bite him.
Teddy
Oh Teddy, she used to be one of my favorite characters from a little after she came to the time she left but now they just carried her character so far down hill that it's hard to keep the same energy I had before, now. Everyone at Grey Sloan is on Owen's side and giving her the cold shoulder and she really wants everyone to mind their own business (I honestly agree though, you're in the middle of a pandemic mind your business and do your job now isn't the time to be shunning coworkers because they cheated.) However when she did explain her side I kinda understood it a bit better. It's still an awful thing to do but I know plenty of people who sabotage their own happiness because they aren't used to it. Hell I do it myself sometimes. But then I was also pissed when she just pretended she did nothing wrong at first. First thing first she acted kinda offended when Owen explained why he hadn't called to cancel the wedding to her. Was it kinda sus? The answer is yes but you literally cheated on him that same day, you needed the extra time sis. Not to mention the several time he hinted to her that he knew and gave her the chance to confess yet she lied through her teeth whenever he hinted at it and flat out lied again when he asked if she had anything to confess. I get the whole sabotage route but God was I happy when Owen got in his truck, drove off and left her.
Tom
I was honestly rooting for Tom in the beginning, despite him being a douche I knew deep down he had a heart somewhere, but I actually started to feel less sorry for him last season when he continued to sleep with Teddy despite knowing her situation which he pointed out to her several times and she still ignored it. I know he loves her but let's be honest, she's going to pick Owen as long as he decides to actually take her back and Tom will be left alone and heart broken with his $100000 worth of boxes in booties and a golf club to measure 6 ft distance between him and everyone else. Honestly I kinda saw a panic attack coming, if they're treating Teddy bad then they're probably treating him even more like crap based on the fact that no one besides Teddy, Catherine and maybe Amelia liked him to begin with. This may also be an unpopular opinion but I actually agree with Catherine for making him resign of chief of all chiefs his head hasn't and probably won't be in the game for a while. At least he still gets to be head of neuro. He bought a whole $100000 dollars in booties alone by mistake during an already tough pandemic between that and everything else going on around him I'm not surprised he broke. What did surprise me was that no one even went near him to help even after the attack was finished. Dislike him or not at least ask him how he's doing geeze.
___________________________________________
Jo and Jackson (Never thought I'd have to put the two of them together in a title.)
Truly the biggest shock of the night besides the trailer for next week which I will freak out about later.
Jo
So Jo has decided that in order for her to feel herself again she has to do the devils tango with someone and because they're in a pandemic and she trusts him she chose Jackson. The night of the appointment to do the deed Jo ends up crying in his mouth. The way she treated him afterwards at first was a little uncalled for in my opinion, I mean she was the one who asked for the favor. But later they talked and it was all cool again. Jo didn't really have that big of a plot this episode so not too much to talk about.
Jackson
Agreed way to quickly to doing the devils tango with Jo if you ask me. Seems a little sus. I really hope they aren't rushing him and Jo into anything give the girl some room to breath and also give Jackson a proper plot he seems to be a plot filler for everyone right now like they have no real purpose for him on the show at the moment. I'm beginning to really think that he was the one who was supposed to die last season. I really do love his and Richard's relationship. Jackson never really had a good father and Webber seems to be filling that spot quite nicely. Him pushing Webber to fight to get better and convince him that his career can be saved was heartwarming. And can we take a moment to talk about Harriet finally appearing from the world of Narnia to bless us with her presence? And boy was she a blessing. That baby that plays Harriet was awesome from her repeating Vic saying she can't be a step mom all to her facial expressions. I hope to see baby Harriet again very soon. But speaking of Vic, did she not know that Jackson was a father? How the hell did she expect to never run into her at some point? Then there's the whole question of what did she even expect of the relationship with Jackson if she never intended to even try to accept being around his daughter? also if she really want to be Robbie Rotten from Lazy town and avoid being around kids, maybe she should call or text first instead of showing up in just a fluffy jacket and nothing else.
___________________________________________
Deluca
Glad to see he finally got the help he needed and is back put tho work. I felt so upset last season when everyone just treated him like crap without trying to help him, but they made up for it a little by trying to help him with the intervention. He was also right about the sex trafficking case and I was so glad to see that he was able to be there as her doctor. Plus he's now also finally in dark blue scrubs it has felt like forever before he got those but I digress. He is now on his way once again to be a kick ass surgeon with the awesome skills hes already showcasing. I just hope he continues to look after himself. Deluca shine like the star you are babe.
___________________________________________
Maggie
Has finally found a man who understands her, he is so nice and kind and caring the whole episode I was mentally yelling go get it hun to the screen. She deserves someone who can take her seriously and understand her awkwardness as well as her tendencies finally she has stepped out of the role of cheerleader and support character and is branching out to something else and I'm here for it. And her yelling at Catherine, to share her piece of mind. I was so proud. Go get it sis.
___________________________________________
Richard
Richard Webber is back in the building, finally the king has returned to himself and already solving problems in day one. At the beginning when he publicly called Catherine a pain in the ass I was so stoked I finally thought that he was done being pushed around by her but then he took her back in the end it also kinda felt like she bought him in order to get him back with the hiring him as the new chief of chiefs but I wish them the best of luck, Webber deserves to be happy. I was also happy to see him and Bailey interacting like friends again. For a while it was awkward between them but now it's like the balance has been restored. Side note, him laughing at Teddy and Owen made me laugh so loudly especially when he asked Teddy if her name was still Altman despite the fact he clearly knew about the phonecall drama, not gonna lie I'd do the same.
___________________________________________
Catherine
Not much there, just her being angry at the pandemic and loss of money, lack of power to save lives as well as trying to win Webber back which she successfully did after firing Koracick and giving Richard his job and finally giving him a heartfelt apology without being petty.
___________________________________________
Bailey
It might just be me but so far despite the fact that it's only been 2 episodes. Bailey seems somewhat better this season. Her guilt over Deluca was definitely warranted but at least she tried to make up for it (and just like Harriet her OCD has decided to rejoin us for a visit from Narnia.) For the past few seasons she's been a slight pain but now she seems more like herself.
Her and Ben are adorable as usual, coming every 12 hours to clap for the doctors just to see her then the cute hand signals they made for each other, between Ben, Link and recently added to the group of awesome partners Winston, I'm beginning to wonder where I can find me one of these super thoughtful understanding handsome men. The two guys that knocked her over as well spraining her ankle really should have to pay or something or at least apologize, they literally just knocked a doctor off her feet and made her wheel chair bound, the chief ro be exact. Her and Webber are on talking terms and well again but she really needs to know how to express concern better. She once told Ben that when she's scared she yells but a lot of things would have gone a lot more smoothly if she'd just reminded him he was a high risk for covid and state her concern for him to begin with instead of barking out orders.
I'm also wondering if shes going to be able to handle the whole Covid situation so well for the whole time, with all the chaos and disorganization with the whole ordeal not to mention the whole fit she had with the germs in the episode. I think it'll be a good storyline now that Grey's seems to be bringing mental awareness back up.
___________________________________________
Link and Amelia
They have now officially reached my list along with Ben and Bailey and a few others that are no longer on the show that have reached the stage of killing the couple goals on this show.
Despite the fact that they're not only raising their own baby but also Bailey, Ellis and Zola yet their relationship is still solid. I'm so proud of my baby Amelia she has come a long way from the woman who didn't even want kids to begin with.
I loved the fact that he wasn't upset over her forgetting his birthday and acted like nothing was wrong, just so she wouldn't feel bad about forgetting. I would have been livid set a reminder on your phone babes. Either way she definitely made up for it later with the whole redoing his birthday thing. Also welcome to the world Scout. Looking forward to seeing them more often.
___________________________________________
Levi
How did it all turn so bad, Nico has turned into such a jerk at this point I'm not even sure I'd be to upset if he left if it wasn't for the fact that I ship the person he was before and Levi so much I'm still hoping that they'll go back to how they were before Nico became a lying hypocrite. At the end I was practically begging Levi to push him away, Nico doesn't deserve it not after the way he treated him and he hasn't even shown a hint of remorse to this day.
___________________________________________
Meredith
The biggest shock of the whole episode. I honestly knew something was going to happen to her from the time she fell asleep and started the dream on the beach. Dreaming of beaches have never been a good sign on Grey's I just thought she was going to collapse from stress because she really had been pushing herself all episode. The thing with Meredith is that she cares so much for her patients and does anything she can to save them, but based on the preview of the next episode and the tests they showed it doesn't seem to be test. And let's just talk about that huge bombshell they dropped by bringing back Derek I never thought I'd see Patrick Dempsey on the show again. By the end of the episode I was already literally shaking in anticipation for the next episode. I know they can't kill Meredith, without her there literally is no Grey's Anatomy. That being said I really hope they don't give her cancer, (I know Patrick is involved with helping a charity for cancer.) And I also really hope she isn't getting alzheimers I just hope it's nothing serious in general. She's been through enough man. I just want this to be a really touching moment where I get to see Merder have some touching moments and it doesn't end up to be Izzie and Denny all over again. I don't think anyone is ready to handle that. I read in a spoiler that there's supposed to be some more visitors arriving on the beach and I'm stoked for it so I really hope it's a real spoiler I'm tired of rewatching the newer seasons to experience some of the old joy.
___________________________________________
Imma need them to give that intern Perez an official recurring contract for the show because he is currently one of the best things to come on that show in years. He's a breath of fresh air.

The Marvelous Misadventures of One: S. Marvin Argentum Ch. 3: In the Pit
Summary: Marvin realizes he’s in a bit too deep as the time continues to tick on.
Chapters: 1, 2, 3, 4
Techno seemed to notice Thompson was in the club and instantly raced from the club and up the stairs, almost shouldering past people to get to the Sheriff.
“Sherman! Sherman!”
“Tech,” the huge burly man grumbled, crossing his arms in front of him. “I thought I saw yeh[1] slipping inta[2] town. What brings yah[1] over here?”
“I found a legate and it was awful!” Techno lamented, basically ignoring him, the two of them basically the same towering height.
Sherman rolled his eyes, “Let me guess, the fight lasted five seconds?”
“There wasn’t even a fight,” Techno complained. “I mean, bruhhh, he barely could defend himself. A dead leaf would have been a more satisfying fight.”
“So he’s dead?” Thompson asked.
“No, it would have been like killing a newborn puppy,” Techno huffed. “Come on, get in the pit so I can have a good fight.”
“Nah, I’m good,” Thompson scoffed and pushed Ghostbur towards the front. “Just bringin’ yer brother to yeh.”[3]
Techno looked annoyed, “Ghostbur, what are you doing here?”
“I’m helping my friends,” Ghostbur smiled.
“I’ve seen what your “help” does,” Techno rolled his eyes. “You here for Phil then?”
Ghostbur looked nervous, “I . . . uh . . . I would like to see him but I don’t know.”
“Did you bring some of the heroes with you?” Techno was looking at Marvin.
“Yah[1] know, we’ll go, we just caught yeh[1] at a bad moment,” Marvin tried to intervene.
“What are you three even doin’[4] here?” Techno leaned against the balcony railing, another fight starting up in absence of Techno.
“We were gonna[5] pick a fight with the Legionnaires’ Guildmaster, but Ghostbur here took us ta[6] see the Sheriff o’er[7] here. So we’ll just go.” Marvin jabbed his thumb at the exit.
“Taking ‘em[8] on, huh? ‘Bout[9] time someone did.” Techno hummed. Then he looked at Ghostbur and nudged him towards the other side of the balcony where the VIP area was. “Hey Ghostbur, why don’t you go say hi to Phil. He’s probably seen you already, so just head on over.”
“Wait a second,” Marvin moved to follow Ghostbur who was already moving to the VIP area.
Techno summoned and axe and moved in-between Ghostbur and Marvin.
“Look, you two make one wrong move against Phil and I’ll take your heads off,” Techno threatened.
“Not lookin’ fer a fight, I want ta get out ‘a here with Ghostbur an’ take care ‘a the hunters up north,”[10] Marvin told him firmly.
Techno braced his axe on his shoulder, “Just watch yourself.”
Ghostbur rushed over to the door and Marvin followed him, Techno opened the door for them.
“Phil!” Techno called out over the loud music. “We got company.”
Philza reached for the remote and turned the music down to a low whisper.
“Techno!” the little girl called out.
“Hey sis,” Techno smiled, walking over to her and kneeling down so the two of them could bump foreheads. “Enjoy the show?”
“You murdered them dead!” She screamed. “Blood for the Blood God!”
“That’s right, good job kid,” Techno smiled.
“Hey Ghostbur,” Philza greeted tensely. “Where’s Tommy?”
“Oh, he’s still in Brighton,” Ghostbur smiled. “He and Tubbo are having so much fun.”
“Right,” Phil kicked his feet up and stood. “Good fer[11] them.”
“You might wanna[12] know, Quackity’s here,” Techno told Philza, “I saw him when I was in the pit.”
“Okay,” Phil remarked as if he really didn’t care either way.
“I think I saw Fundy and that one slime guy with him,” Techno added.
Phil’s good wing puffed up, “Shit! Shit!”
Ghostbur gasped, clearly ecstatic, “What? Fundy? He’s here?”
Phil raced across the room and hit the intercom button, “Fundy! You furball, get yer[13] ass up here this instant! I wanna[12] know where you are!”
“Oh, Marv, have you met Fundy?” Ghostbur was floating a bit off the ground. “You have to meet him. He’s my son.”
“I think I have,” Marvin answered, more than a little surprised by that information.
Techno loudly cleared his throat. “So while we’re waiting for Fundy and probably Quackity to show up, you mind tell me what brings you to Arizona? Last I checked, Egoton was in Chicago, or something like that.”
“We were gonna[5] deal with the Legionnaires, but Ghostbur said he knew someone so we took a detour,” Marvin explained. “Really we should’a[14] stopped at the station, but we’ll go.”
“You needed allies, you two are alone,” Phil said in a way that made Marvin feel like the avian was staring through his very soul. “Why go fer[11] ‘em[15] now? The hunters have been bigger problems before?”
Marvin weighed his options. “Cause they’re workin’ with the CIA an’ Dark’s nemesis. An’ they’re gonna crash a weddin’.”[16]
Techno started bouncing on the balls of his feet, looking like a small child that had been gifted a full sized robot suit for Christmas.
Phil, however, let out an indignant, insulted huff, “Oi![17] Did that fooker[18] replace me an’[19] Tech with some other bastard? How dare he‽”
“Man, is there anyone Dark hasn’t pissed off?” Marvin chuckled.
“Seems ta[6] be a much shorter list ‘a[20] who he hasn’t,” Phil smiled. “Phantom taught him really well in that regard.”
“Huh,” Marvin commented. He realized that for being two demons of roughly the same age, supposedly, and being the same type of demon that Philza and Dark were kinda opposites. “So yeh[1] on the same hatin’[21] human trend as he is, never met a demon that was particularly nice.”
“Nah,” Phil smiled. “I love humans, they make the best things like anime, an’[19] memes, an’[19] the word: “fuck”. So I love humans.”
“How old are you?” Taylor asked.
The avian demon shrugged, “I don’t count keep anymore. 350? Almost 400? I don’t know.”
At that moment the door opened and Marvin stepped out of the line of fire as Fundy walked in, Quackity and Slime right behind him.
Quackity stiffened nervously when he locked eyes with Techno,
“Fundy,” Ghostbur smiled as he started to advance. “My little champion. How are you?”
Fundy hissed, all the hair on his head and ears standing on edge. “You touch me, and I bite you.”
“Hey, chill out fer[11] five seconds will yeh[1]?” Marvin snapped back. “He hasn’t done anythin’ ta yeh.”[22]
“Oh, he’s done more than enough,” Fundy snapped.
Techno spoke up, “Where’s Tubbo? This gonna[5] be a butcher’s army 2.0?”
“No, I just came here ta[6] catch up with some contacts, didn’t even know you two were in town,” Quackity denied, taking a step back as he glanced at Techno.
“Sides we’d need Ranboo for that,” Fundy muttered a bit too loud.
“Oi![17] You watch yerself,[23] Ranboo can do no wrong!” Phil shouted at his grandson.
“Are you kidding me?” Fundy shouted back, devolving into a series of frustrated, incoherent grumbling noises.
“Looks like a pretty important meeting up here?” Quackity smiled, looking around. “You all having fun?”
“Bruhh, these two wanna[12] take on the Legionnaires and the government,” Techno declared. “And I’m helping.”
“Wait what?” Marvin demanded before his brain could tell him that looking a gift horse in the mouth was a bad idea. “Since when have yeh[1] been in on this?”
“Since you told me that you were taking on the CIA,” Technoblade grinned. “That type of stuff is literally all I do.”
The hunter spoke up, they’d been mostly quiet up until now, mostly watching the situation fly wildly out of control, but now they interjected, “I’m going to duel the Guildmaster, take over the Guild and take them back on track to what our Guild was meant to be, protecting people and not making deals with people who are literally worse than demons.”
“So you’re saying that if you’re in control you’ll go against the government?” Technoblade said.
“If that means protecting people like we’re supposed to be doing from the start, then yes,” Taylor told him.
“Now that’s the type of thing I like to hear,” Techno grinned. “But if you back out on that, I will take care of you.”
“Right,” the hunter didn’t break eye contact.
“So, yer[24] gonna[5] help us fight them then?” Marvin asked.
“Heh,” Techno grinned. “Taking down the self-entitled discount Spanish Inquisition, and the government? You’d have to fight me not to come.”
“Get rid of the Legionnaires?” Quackity smiled. “Count me in, wish I had brought Sam and Sap, they would’a[25] made this a breeze.”
Then the casino owner turned to his two companions, “Fundy, Slime, if you two aren’t up for it, yeh[1] can go back to the hotel.”
Fundy seemed to have a fire burning in his eyes, “I can do it, I want in.”
Slime gave a huge, lopsided grin, “I will also come with Quackity from Las Nevadas.”
“You wanna[12] stay on your retirement couch, Ol’[26] Man?” Techno prodded, smiling at Phil.
“Shut!” Philza snapped, rolling his eyes when Techno laughed at him.
“I wanna[12] come with,” Techno’s little sister told them.
“No!” Thompson and Techno both told her. She pouted and deflated a little bit.
“I’ll take her back an’[19] meet you all there,” Thompson told them.
“So, kitty, you got a plan?” Quackity gave him a sharp grin.
Marvin paused for a second, “Yeah, I think I got one.”
