“(y/n) please wait!” a voice sounded from behind you as you dragged a suitcase filled with your clothes and other possessions to the front door.

“no chris, i’ve waited long enough at the damn restaurant and where were you?” you said, throwing your free hand up in the air. “you were fucking this bitch in our— no, your house.” you seethed back at your now ex-boyfriend, who stood with an expression of grief.

“in fact, i don’t want to wait at anymore restaurants for your stupid ass.” his grief soon turned into anger as you spun around on your heels and walked out the front door.

you could hear him shouting some profanities out of the open door, but you managed to block out his voice and instead focus on the sound of your shoes on pavement as you walked with your suitcase to wherever your feet would lead you.

you were completely done with his bullshit. coming home late claiming he was “working”, flirting with other girls when you two were out shopping, and, just like this night, leaving you stranded at some restaurant for some other chick. it wasn’t even the first time he’s done that. you were ready to leave him before this day had even started; you had spent a few days secretly putting all of your possessions into your handy suitcase, only putting away a couple things at a time so he wouldn’t notice the lack of your items in the house.

before you knew it, you were standing in front of a bar that you used to always go to with one of your dearest friends. “maybe he still comes here.” you thought as you made your way through the bar door and straight to a small booth in the far corner of the building. the same small booth that your friend and yourself had always sat at when you both would come here.

his name was james page, which he preferred jimmy, but you just used james instead to pick some fun at him. the two of you were the closest of friends, ever since your childhood where you fell off of your bike and he ran over to check to see if you were okay. he even went with you to your house just to make sure that you weren’t hurt. even as you both had gotten older, you would both help each other out with homework, watch movies together, and he even taught you some guitar chords and tricks.

the downfall of your friendship happened a while after he joined one of his first bands; the yardbirds. he would always be traveling, performing at different concert venues around the country, and even the world. at first you would just call him or he would call you on these tours, which worked well for awhile, until he got so busy with the band that he didn’t have any time to return your many missed calls.

you missed him dearly, thinking of him from time to time during the day. you often wondered what he was doing at the time when you thought of him, whether it was playing his guitar or just relaxing at wherever he may call home.

you stood up to go grab a beer, hoping to wash your thoughts away, when a very familiar sound reached your ears. it was his laughter. the same sweet laughter you grew fond of whenever you’d be around him. you didn’t know how much you longed to hear that sound again until that very moment, it almost held you in a trance until the beautiful sound melted away and the song that the jukebox was playing had replaced it.

“i was probably just imagining it.” you thought. running a hand through your hair to try and focus back on reality, you continued to the bar, a fairly large opening right in front of you that you could get to quickly. when you reached the bar, you heard a familiar voice say, “(y/n)! long time no see!” you looked up to see the bartender, florence. she has been the same bartender since you and jimmy started coming to this bar, usually just to hang out and talk about different things. you were still surprised that she still worked here, she’s not as young as she used to be, but you were glad that she was here and not some other new bartender.

“hey flo! how’s everything been recently?” you smiled lightly, not really in the mood to talk a lot, but willing to make small conversation with your old friend. “quite good dear! it’s been boring without yourself and jimmy constantly making a ruckus in here though, i kind of miss having to tell the manager about how you two broke the jukebox again!” florence joked, causing you to let out a small laugh. “yeah, those were the good old days, weren’t they?” she smiled. “they really were. anyway! how about a drink for you aye?”

“whiskey. any kind will do.” you replied, which flo nodded and went off to get your drink, coming back in record time with a glass about half way filled with the golden-brown alcohol. you smiled and said a quick “thank you” and carefully took the glass, bidding flo a farewell and she returning it.

you walked back over to your seat, the chat with florence clearing your mind of the earlier events and bringing your mood up a bit. she always had that effect on people, making them crack even a slight smile when they’re feeling blue. right as you were about to sit down, the voice that you never thought you’d hear again called out, “(y/n)? is that you?”

you set your glass down, mentally preparing to see him for the first time in a long, long time. holding your breath, you turn around and see him, the jimmy page, your old best friend. “james?” his hair was longer, barely reaching to his shoulder, and it was slicked back slightly, showing his beautiful green eyes. his smile was still the same, and you swore your heart did a backflip when he smiled at you and said “oh (y/n) i knew it was you! i couldn’t miss that gorgeous hair of yours anywhere.”

you were pretty sure that your face was bright red as you smiled bashfully. “oh thank you jim. and i see you grew yours out hm?” he chuckled, running his hand through his hair softly and said “yeah, i just thought why the hell not you know?” “mhm! i like it a lot, it suits you.” you said back, nudging his shoulder with your knuckle.

he grins and mumbles a quick “thanks”. he then looks back up at you and says “wanna sit and chat for awhile? catch up on all the times we missed?” you nod, motioning for him to sit at the opposite side of where your drink is, and he sat, you following his actions and sitting down as well. you grabbed your glass of whiskey and took a long sip of it, leaving only a small amount left in the bottom of the cup. jimmy’s eyes followed your hand as you set it back on the table, then his eyes flicked back up to meet yours, his eyebrows furrowed in concern.

“is everything alright? i haven’t seen you drink like that in, well, i’ve never seen you drink like that.” you sighed, drawing your finger around the rim of the cup gently. “if i’m being honest, no. a year after we, y’know, stopped talking, i found a guy and we got along quite well and started dating.” you noticed jimmy’s hand clenched into a fist, so you continued.

“everything was fine between us, until recently. he started going after other girls, even with me around him. he even asked me on a date just so i would stay, because i told him that if he doesn’t get his shit together then i’m just going to leave. we were supposed to meet at a restaurant, but of course he didn’t show up even when he’s the one who wanted me to go with him and not the other way around. so i went back to our former shared house and found him fucking some random chick that i’ve seen him flirt with before.” you stared at your drink, before grabbing it and finishing it off. as soon as you set the glass back, jimmy’s hand softly reached for yours and held it, caressing his thumb over your knuckles.

you rose your eyes up to meet jimmy’s, his eyes holding a soft, caring look, the same look that you’ve longed to see for many years. “it’s fine though, really. it’s not like i really loved him anyway..” you lied, thinking of when you first met chris, how happy he made you. but you realized that a certain someone, perhaps the someone sitting across from you, had made you happier than chris could’ve.

“(y/n) love, your lying eyes really give away that you did love him at one point, and it’ll take a while to try and un-love him, trust me.” a soft hand came in contact with your cheek, gently wiping a stray tear away that you didn’t notice had fallen. looking back up at jimmy, you smiled at him and brought your hand that wasn’t occupied and rested it against his. “i know jimmy, but i think i’ve already moved on from that asshole.”

his eyes flashed with a glimmer of hope, and he softly nodded, a small smile painting his face. he paused, then cautiously asked; “i know we’ve only talked for a few minutes, and you can refuse this offer, but how about we ditch this bar and go somewhere else?” you brought jimmy’s hand down to rest on the table, holding them both with your warm hands and nodded. “yeah, i’d like that.” he stood up from the seat, pulling you up with him.

“well then, what are we waiting for?”

the doctor is in the house (quite literally)

going grocery shopping was an okay chore in your opinion

it honestly depended on your mood or whatever kind of shit happens when you go shopping

cause like something always, always happens whenever you go do groceries

sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s bad, and sometimes it’s just plain weird

one time some weirdo proposed to you in the middle of the store asking for a double suicide

he was good looking you’d admit but it’s not like you’d ever see him again

or so you thought

every so often, you’d run out of real person food in your apartment

you mostly survive off all of the leftover bakery treats and ingredients—which works out pretty well actually—but bakery supplies unfortunately also run out quite often

and also unfortunately, one time when both fukuzawa & ranpo took a visit to Sakura’s, fukuzawa argued that “no you can’t live off sweets for the rest of your life”

ranpo was scandalized and scrambled to cover your ears

you guys were at it for a while

in the end you sided with fukuzawa causing ranpo to go off about “betrayal from the people he cared most abt” or smth like that

you guys were okay again after bribing him with sweets :)

for bakery supplies you usually have them delivered bc you order them in large quantities bc ahaha no way were you gonna carry like 15-20 50 pound bags of flour no way

when days like those happen, you close up the bakery early so you aren’t walking home when it’s too dark

you scheduled it to happen every first saturday of the month

on those saturdays, you close at 5 instead of at 8

currently, you were at the grocery store looking for basic cooking ingredients such as proteins, vegetables, fruits, and most importantly, snacks

ranpo’s been rubbing off on you

the sun was starting to set and you were walking home with your two bags of groceries when shit went down

tbh you were kinda expecting it cause your grocery run was peaceful for once

but what you weren’t expecting was a wack-a-do to appear out of goddamn nowhere right when you were opening the side door to get to the staircase up to your apartment

like honestly

let a woman do her own thing

the man who grabbed you tried to covered your mouth so you couldn’t scream but you didn’t exactly make it easy for him

you kicked and thrashed around even using the grocery bags—that were somehow still in your hand—as a weapon and the man struggled but he was still bigger than you and was able to bring you to a nearby alley

he reeked of alcohol and you spotted a wedding band on his left hand

not that you cared about the detail in the moment

you kicked him in the groin and in response he let you go only to fall on broken glass that was in the alley way

using the wall to help yourself up, you grabbed a nearby wooden stick and struck him right on his back

your attacker fell and you immediately turned on your heels to escape only to fall back down on the hard cold ground once again

you lift your face up and look back to see the man holding onto your ankle

grabbing a shard of glass—cutting yourself in the process— you begin to swing it at him only for him to easily grip your wrist and stop you

you get ready try and kick him in the groin again but you’re interrupted as your attacker gets sucker punched and flies to wall

you look up to see your savior and you’re blessed to see a beautiful woman, probably not that much older than you are—she’s probably around ranpo’s age— donning a white long sleeve button up, a matching black necktie, knee length skirt, and gloves, along with tights, red heels, and a pretty butterfly clip in her short black hair

but what you really notice is her eyes

ranpo’s eyes were pretty but you like hers just a bit more

you’ve always liked the color magenta

the pretty lady holds out her hand and you take it graciously and thank her as she helps you up

as that’s happening, your attacker gets himself onto his feet and his groan catches both of your attention

he struggles to stand and the pretty lady simples saunters over to him and delivers an uppercut knocking him out cold

you’re stunned and you breathe out a “thank you” making her turn towards you

she notices the condition you’re in

bleeding scrapes on your hands, arms and legs, small rips in your clothes like your tights, blouse, and skirt, and the ruffled state of your hair and clothing

she asks if you live nearby and you tell her that you own the bakery that’s one or two buildings away

when you tell her that, it clicks in her mind that you must be the bakery girl ranpo’s been talking about and the friend fukuzawa was cat sitting for

it’s been abt two weeks since ranpo and fukuzawa first met you and since then, they’ve seen lucky in the office plenty and the boxes of your signature sweets even more

if those two trust you, she has no reason not to

she smiles at you, holds out her hand for you to shake, and introduces herself as the doctor of the armed detective agency

your eyes widen and you smile back at her shaking her hand

“ah! you must be yosano-sensei then! ranpo-san and fukuzawa-san have talked about you! it’s so nice to meet you! im (l/n) (y/n)!”

“they’ve talked about you too, it’s a pleasure to finally meet you (y/n)”

after that exchange she insisted on bringing you home to treat you wounds which you told her it wasn’t necessary

she gave you a pointed look and that was when you realized what state you were in

you sighed and weakly gave in to which she only grinned at

before leaving the alley she walks over to the unconscious man and pulls out his wallet for some sort of identification and home address as you try to see if there’s any groceries still salvageable

after texting the details to kunikida, yosano turns to you poking around the now ruined grocery bags

she simply rubs your back and tells you that the both of you could go buy more groceries together as she was meaning to get some anyways; she even said she’ll pay for you

you refused obviously but she, unknowingly, used the same tactic fukuzawa used with you

“so you’re saying you don’t need groceries?”

“...”

*cue an eyebrow raise from our resident queen*

“...you agency members don’t like making things easy for me huh.”

you gave in reluctantly and at this point you don’t even know why you try negotiating with them

and that’s only three of them

apparently, she was on the other side of the street on the way to buy groceries for the agency when she noticed different produce items on the other sidewalk leading to the alley and she went to check out what happened

ironically, the way to the grocery store from the agency makes you go past Sakura’s but she didn’t realize it until after the two of you had met

before you know it, the two of you are in your apartment kitchen as she cleans and patches up all of your wounds

as she does so the two of you have a little girl talk

you find it quite comforting bc since you opened up Sakura’s you haven’t really had the chance to connect to many people much less other women

you definitely see yosano as your cool, loving, badass older sister

she thinks you’re adorable and agrees with ranpo’s opinion

yup

after that small fiasco, the two of you talked some more and bonded over your love for flowers, japanese sweets, and much more!!

you even made a date to have a girls day to go shopping and eat out!

you’re internally squealing a bit bc it’s been a while since you’ve gone shopping

yosano notices and she giggles behind her hand not saying anything bc she knows you’ll only throw a fit

the two of you came around the topic of ranpo when lucky passed by

lucky quickly warmed up to the doctor and cozied up in her lap

“i wish ranpo-san was able to meet lucky when he came by the first time, but then again, he’d probably throw a tantrum if i don’t pay attention to him for 5 seconds”

she snorted at that and like fukuzawa, she shared stories abt the slightly older male

“ranpo-san doesn’t know how to ride a train?”

“unbelievable right?”

“for someone so intelligent i expected more from him”

“i’ll be telling that to ranpo-san, (n/n)-chan”

“wha—?! yosano-sensei please don’t!”

like ranpo, she’s also a tease </3

but you love her anyway <3

eventually, she finished patching you up and promised to treat you to a new set of clothes when the two of you go out

“you don’t need to lose a good set of clothes just because of a sleazy man (n/n)-chan! you deserve better!”

you were going to argue that the rips in your clothes were fairly small and could easily be fixed—except the tights—but you stopped in your tracks when you remembered that it was practically useless to argue against an ada member

the two of you walked to the grocery store and bought both of your needed supplies—along with some extra goodies—and then she walked you back to your place bc it was already a bit dark out

but even if it wasn’t, she would walk you anyways

besides, if anything happened to you, she’s 1000% positive that ranpo and fukuzawa are gonna flip the fuck out not that she wont cause she most definitely will

speaking of which

you were drinking a bottle of water as the two of made your way back to Sakura’s when all of a sudden

“(y/n) you do realize that i have to tell shachou and ranpo-san about what happened today right?”

you choked on your water

“yosano-sensei you can’t! if you do they’ll freak! they won’t leave me alone for at least two weeks! one if im lucky!”

“exactly the point”

you just accepted your defeat already knowing that you’d lose

but maybe you can simmer down their anger towards the bastard with sweets and lucky

you arrived at Sakura’s shortly after and after bringing groceries in, you packaged a bunch of pastries leftover from today—bc you closed early—and bc you’re well aware that ranpo doesn’t share any of the sweets you send him with

you even gave yosano her own special box filled with goodies she loves, and a thermos of fukuzawa’s favorite, your special hot honey lemon tea

other than the sweets, you prepared lucky to spend the night at fukuzawa’s

you really really hoped that doing these things would make them calm down

you shivered at the thought of what their responses would be

you felt really bad for giving yosano all these things to carry and that you were keeping her very late

she assured you that she was fine and that if someone tried to mess with her she’d kick their ass

and after exchanging numbers, the magenta eyed queen bid you a good night and walked back to the agency with lucky walking by her heels

arriving back at the agency, yosano was greeted with some concerns asking if she was alright bc she came back from her grocery run pretty late

(she usually goes in the mornings but today was pretty busy so she left in the late afternoon but now it was already dark)

she waved off the concerns and plopped a couple boxes of your signature bakery boxes at ranpo’s desk, the one for her at her own, the last few boxes in the kitchen for any other agent or clerk to grab, placed the thermos on the desk fukuzawa was by, and picked up lucky and handed him to the president

the two males were pleased with what yosano had brought them, and pleased that another agency member had the chance to meet you

fukuzawa was rubbing lucky and ranpo already snacking on treats as yosano expected

but here comes the hard part

or maybe it’s gonna amusing who knows

“i met (y/n) today.”

“we could tell.”

in goes another treat in the green eyed man’s mouth

“would you like to know how?”

“you bumped into each other, had girl talk, made plans to go out, went grocery shopping, and you brought me and shachou presents.”

“great job ranpo-san, you’re almost completely correct.”

this caught the attention of basically everyone bc they knew ranpo was never “almost completely correct”

“we ended up meeting bc she got attacked on her way home from grocery shopping, i treated her wounds, then we had girl talk and did all the other stuff”

ranpo and fukuzawa froze right in their tracks

“i sent all the info of the bastard to kunikida”

“kunikida.”

“yes shachou”

“find out everything about that man and bring it to me and ranpo”

“...yes shachou”

“and yosano”

“yes?”

“text (y/n) and tell her that her cat, tea, and pastries aren’t going to work as a bribe”

just as you finished taking a shower you sneezed

so ill start off w my seamstress man bc i don't think i've told u abt him before

joined the smp soon after the lmanburg revolution as the country was rebuilt and starting to accept more citizens

became a l'manburg citizen and started up a haberdashery nearby nikis bakery

had been old friends w niki which is how he found out abt l'manburg to begin with

helped sew the flag niki made (also tommy helped w this but acted like he didn't care as much)

would let tommy borrow his sewing machine (or rather come into the shop to use it) on occasion as he was getting better at sewing and wanted practice

when the elections came around, he voted coconut 2020 (firm believer that none of this would happen if they'd have gotten away w voter fraud </3)

was at home watching the elections on tv when all the shit went down w wil and tommy being exiled

rushed out to find niki and watched as fundy burned the flag

eventually ended up leaving to pogtopia to help with the revolution bc he saw the shit schlatt was doing, particularly towards niki

helped a lot with repairing clothing and shit during these months

tommy hung out with him a little in the beginning but by the end of pogtopia, spent much of his time distracting himself doing sewing work with him

ended up speaking with and getting quite close to wilbur throughout those months, wilbur considered his judgement to be good bc niki had spoken highly of him

it was some of these conversations that led to wilburs distrust of his own son (bc he told wil of fundy burning the flag)

watched wilburs gradual decline both firsthand and from just generally how people within pogtopia began to regard him (as the person who repairs everyones clothes, you get to know people quite well)

this decline is probably why tommy started to avoid wil as much and hung around him instead for much of his time

still ended up following wilbur into the war but worried for tommy especially

worked with the medics during the war (put his sewing prowess to work)

remembers when they got the news the war was won, the medical tent erupting out in cheers

remembers after an hour or so of drinking and celebration winding down, suddenly feeling a deep rumbling in the ground

remembers rushing out of the tent (near one of erets towers) and watching as the rubble of l'manburg fell

that's abt as far as ive gotten on his story but oh well

for the badlands person!!

she joined quite early, I would say around the original dreamon hunters plot

was a member of the badlands and pretty close to the others

watched bad become possessed by the egg and helped in trying to get him back before it finally suceeded

helped skeppy and bad with the experiments on seeing how the egg grew and affected it's surroundings

she helped construct the quarantine area

I need a refresher bc i don't remember the exact order of events in early egg arc BUT long story short, she watched as every member of the badlands fell to the egg and watched sam become consumed by his own work at the prison

was initially on sam's side out of all of them but still wanted to believe the eggheads could come back, that they were still her friends

she helped out Sam after he got trapped in the egg (helped puffy and tommy break him out, she stayed w him afterwards)

but as sam started to get worse w the prison, she was very conflicted

once that last tie with sam was severed (last chance was when ponk was tortured), she had no one left she really cared abt

ended up possessed by the egg bc of this. it seemed like the best option and at least she could be with her friends

was at the red banquet but more off in the background

feel like she did notice ranboo but didn't mention it (didn't seem relevant)

that's basically it for her up to this point, still have to fix up things w all that too

aaaaand the lmanburg person..

this is basically just a fic concept ig??? like it's more of the idea of one of the thousands who died in the manburg v pogtopia aftermath explosion bc i rly wanna expand on that

so it's basically just one of any of the people there just living their life

until you see this cute lil blue dress and you’re like ‘that’s The One, i need that dress……very necessary to my daily life’

so you tell your friends that you’re just gonna go find your size and they’re all “yes!! get the cute dress!! we’ll see you at the check-out!!”

so you’re about to grab the dress when you see,, the exact same dress except this time! it’s in red

so now you’re completely torn obviously because :// do you want the blue one or the red one,, they’re both cute,, but what’s gonna look nicer on you,,

and you’re just kinda stood there staring at them both because it turns out both colours have your size and now you don’t know what to do with urself

anyway! with that being said! let’s get into actually dating him

hyunsuk is a Loud Boy and is most of the time a Happy Boy

and he would constantly try and make sure that you’re feeling equally as happy as him because!! he really just hates the idea of you being upset or down

he hates it so much when your upset because of something outside of his control (like school, work, college) because he just doesn’t know how to fix it?? and he’d resort to doing really dumb stuff to get you to smile at him !! because seeing you :( makes his heart physically hurt

honestly he would melt if you did the same thing for him…..like….if you showed clear concern for him or hyped him up in anything he does the babey smile you know the one loll and feels his heart go zooooooom

i don’t think he’d actively go out of his way to show affection in public but it would definitely just happen

but overall those would go on for hours and you’d only know he was ready to finally sleep when he curled an arm around your waist to pull you closer to him

speaking of cuddling!! hyunsuk would go between being the little spoon or having you lie on his chest to sleep

he loves being the little spoon because,, it’s such a warm experience,, so safe,, and bundled up,, and he’d definitely wrap himself up in a blanket before doing it for Maximum Comfort

but! he also loves having you sleep on his chest because “you’re my baby!! you’re so small it’s where you belong!!” (even if you’re taller than him hyunsuk what) he just,, loves how close you feel to him when he knows you can hear his heartbeat and he can feel how warm you are and he can see you falling asleep and it makes him feel so !! warm inside

[a/n; using that as a way to talk about something else,, writer of the year :)] we all obviously know that hyunsuk is very music orientated as a person!!! and he wouldn’t hesitate to share that with you through either his performances, his producing, or just music he likes

he’d make multiple playlists for you that would be for different things! (songs he wants to show you, songs that remind him of you, songs he wants to you to listen to and tell him whether performing them would be a good idea etc.)

he’d also love for you to show him your favourite music because he’d personally see music sharing as something very intimate and special!!! and if you ever told him about songs that reminded you of him he might actually have a heart palpitation

but i think in general he’d wanna be involved with something you’re interested in because you supported him so much in his passion!! if you were into art, he’d wanna know all about what you were drawing/painting and he’d find cute museums to go to together! if you were into writing, he’d wanna know what you were writing about and he’d wanna find you cool notebooks and stationary to use for it! he’d just wanna involve himself in any way possible to let u know he cared about it too!!

he just can’t comprehend that any of the things you two work through are actually genuine problems for other couples because?? he finds them so easy to avoid

that’s not to say you two wouldn’t argue, because like, everyone does. but arguments would just,, end so quickly because

first of all: he hates there being tension between you two, and hates the idea of upsetting you even more

and second of all: he’d calm down quick enough to talk things through calmly and discuss a good way for both of you to fix your problems

and ! the relationship would never ever feel one-sided

you’d support him so much!! you’d remind him to get sleep, and to eat and drink regularly, and to not take the criticisms too harshly because he knows how good he is

trauma tw & sexual assault tw !! it was at one of these parties that she had a traumatic assault experience w one of her brother’s friends when she was a teenager. to this day, she still hasn’t told anyone about what happened. it happened on more than one occasion and her brother is still friends w this boy so she just…..does her best to avoid him & pretend that nothing ever happened bc she refuses to acknowledge her trauma

she was pretty popular in school but never rly felt like she had any true friends ??? none of her relationships were all that deep and she mostly just hung out with people to get free stuff LMAO and like rides places i guess

Jeongguk didn’t really know what to do. He was blinded by emotions, completely heated in the moment. He had stormed to the apartment and instantly started throwing clothes into a bag. It wasn’t that he was just going to leave you alone, the apartment was far too expensive for you alone. He just needed a break. To where, he didn’t know.

That’s how he ended up at Jimin’s doorstep. He stood with his bag slung over his shoulder and big, sad eyes; how could Jimin tell him no?

The Fraternity Leader was a med student named Namjoon, who let Jeongguk stay for a couple days under a couple of rules and a small plead from Jimin. He warned him not to get too comfortable, though, and Jeongguk agreed.

They called themselves Beta Theta Sigma, better known as BTS. Jimin would tell stories about the insane household, and how Kim Taehyung’s father bought the house for them. Jeongguk didn’t see how well organized everything actually was until he lived a day inside.

Jimin’s bedroom was shared with Min Yoongi, who would have already been graduated from the four-year university if he hadn’t taken a year off in between. His seemingly scary exterior was quickly vanished after Jimin entered the room.

“You don’t mind if Jeongguk stays for a bit, right?” Jimin asked as he plopped onto his bed, which was on the opposite side of the room where Yoongi sat on his.

“The star baseball players staying in my room? I’m honored!” Yoongi said sarcastically.

“Shut the fuck up and be grateful I’m not Taehyung and his latest conquest.” Jimin retorted, giggling a little.

Jeongguk stayed standing by the end of Jimin’s bed. “What do you mean, Taehyung and his latest conquest?”

“You know Taehyung, how he fucks around.” Jimin started.

“We have an ongoing bet of sorts.” Yoongi continued. “How many people Taehyung can fuck before he falls for one of them for real.”

“Which won’t happen since Taehyung has no heart or soul.” Jimin sat cross legged to look at his roommate.

“But it will, because we both know that he does have a heart, it’s just in his dick until it heals.”

Jeongguk was confused, mostly. He had never had a civil conversation with Taehyung, let alone would know about his life. But he did know that he managed to have sex with a percentage of the university students.

Yoongi and Jimin had strayed away from their previous conversation and interrupted Jeongguk’s thoughts with “why exactly are you staying with us?”

“Oh, right.” He shifted his balance from one foot to the other. “Me and my roommate got into an, um, argument. I couldn’t stay with her.”

“Aren’t you roommates with that one girl… the hot one with the brain?” Yoongi asked, pointing at Jeongguk.

“Damn Yoong, no need to be straightforward. You could just ask him to fuck her you know.”

“Jimin, I’m gay.”

“I know.” Jimin winked at his roommate and turned back to Jeongguk. “So you guys fought, big whoop. Apologize to her and move on.”

“I’m not going to apologize. If anything it’s her fault. She’s the one who..”

“I’m going to stop you there.” Yoongi interrupted. “It doesn’t matter who did what. You’re the man, and as the man you have to be the one to apologize. That’s how relationships work.”

“We’re not in a relationship.”

Yoongi exchanged a look with Jimin. “If you weren’t in a relationship with her, then why did Jimin say I would have to ask permission from you if I wanted to fuck her?”

Jeongguk didn’t know how to respond. You never had to ask permission from him to do, well, anything. Why did he act so possessive towards you? He knew the answer to that, he just didn’t want to admit it to Min Yoongi, a guy he didn’t even know.

“You’re in love with her, right?” Yoongi asked.

Jeongguk stayed silent, which was an answer in itself. Jimin looked up at Jeongguk to see if he would admit it. But he didn’t. Jeongguk could‘ve deny it, say that she’s only a friend and he loves her only as such. He could just laugh and move on. He didn’t.

“You’re not good at hiding it.” Yoongi remarked. “You’re an open book. I’m surprised she hasn’t figured it out yet, you’re so fucking obvious.”

Jimin spoke up. “Oi! Lay off him, yeah? He’ll tell her when he’s ready.”

“Or he won’t and it’ll be too late.”

“Ignore him.” Jimin pulled Jeongguk to sit on his bed. He turned his head to his roommate. “Put your headphones back on before you get punched.”

Yoongi just shrugged his shoulders and mumbled something inaudible before putting his headphones back on. Jimin apologized for him and let Jeongguk get settled.

What Yoongi said made sense, of course. Jeongguk felt bad about how he left without saying anything else. He felt a pang in his chest when he thought of you staying home alone.

It was four days. Jeongguk went four days without speaking to you and avoiding you. Jimin told you where he was staying, and that he wasn’t doing okay. You didn’t know why, but you also knew Jeongguk better than anyone. If he needed distance for a while, then you would let him. He was hard to read sometimes, especially if he was angry about something. You hoped it was nothing you did.

You also hadn’t spoken to Taehyung since you slept together. You really didn’t plan on it, truthfully. You didn’t even tell anyone about the night, let alone felt the need to discuss it with Taehyung himself. He was known for one night stands, after all.

It was Jeongguk who texted you first.

The day ended not too long ago, and you were one of the last people in the library. It was peaceful; your mind was calm. Your phone vibrated on the table above where books and papers laid before you.

Jinnie’s Café was a little coffee shop that a lot of the students frequented. It was on the corner across the street from the university campus, and served amazing breakfast muffins. Many of your late night study sessions, or early morning runs, ended up there. It wasn’t unusual for the two of you to get coffee. Maybe Jeongguk was ready to stop being petty and tell you why he was so angry before.

You put your things in your bag and started your walk out of the library and towards the café.

Meanwhile, Jeongguk had his palm wrapped tightly around the cup of coffee. His plan was mapped out perfectly in his mind. He would tell you that he was stressed out, since baseball practices were going to start soon. He would tell you that he needed some space. But he would also tell you that the two of you never kept secrets, and finding out your secret sexcapades pissed him off. The only thing he wouldn’t tell you, of course, was that he was jealous. That would only lead to disaster.

He knew you didn’t love him back. He would never risk that rejection.

So, he waited.

It was darker than you thought. Even with the streetlights, you had a feeling that you were being followed. It wasn’t the “run because a monster may be behind you!” scared like when you ran up the stairs after turning the downstairs light off. It was a “put your keys in your hand in case you need to stab someone if they come behind you” type of scared.

Jinnie’s was a couple of feet away. The smell of coffee filled the air, and you felt a bit safer.

That’s when someone stopped in front of you. You had to stop yourself from running into them, they appeared from behind you to in front of you so quickly.

Breathing heavily, you looked up to see Kim Taehyung in all of his nighttime beauty. The streetlights reflected off of his golden skin almost perfectly, and his blonde hair seemed to shine where it was pushed back by a bandana across his forehead.

He was so effortlessly beautiful. Your knees became weak. That had never happened before towards him.

You rolled your eyes.

“You were fucking following me? To what do I owe the pleasure of your undivided attention?” you crossed your arms.

Taehyung smirked. “You’re cute, you know that? Perhaps a bit bitchy, but cute nonetheless.”

“What the hell do you want?”

He stepped forward. You didn’t give him the satisfaction of stepping back. He noticed and took another step forward, ducking his head close to your left ear.

“I haven’t stopped thinking of you since the party.” he muttered, hands making their way to your hips. Your arms dropped to your sides.

“You don’t do seconds.” you told him.

You felt his smile against your skin. He placed a soft kiss to your neck.

“I could with you, love.”

“Fuck off.”

“Then why are your hands around my neck and your legs trembling?”

Taehyung knew he had you like puddy in his hands the moment he received eye contact from you. He had never felt the need to have a one night stand with the same girl twice, yet there you were.

You leaned back to make eye contact with him. “Your place?”

Taehyung nodded and leaned in to attack your neck with feverous kisses and bites.

Jeongguk tapped his fingers against the glass of empty coffee. He didn’t need to worry, you still had, like, five minutes left to arrive, plus you were typically late to things. But he’s been there all day debating on texting you, and the amount of coffee he drank was starting to set in.

The owner and partial waiter, Kim Seokjin, came over to his table to offer him more coffee. He pretty much knew everything about everyone at the university by the amount of gossip he heard. The secrets that weren’t so secret. One of which was Jeongguk’s love for you.

“Still waiting?” he asked the younger boy.

“She’ll be here.” Jeongguk said confidently. “I’ll just wait a bit longer.”

Seokjin gave him a sad smile and poured more drink into his cup. “If it makes you feel any better, she’d be stupid not to come. You do plan on telling her, yes?”

“I don’t plan on confessing.” he replied, staring at the brown liquid. “I don’t think I’m ready to hear her reply quite yet. I don’t want all my years of dreaming and hopes be left to waste, you know?”

Seokjin nodded. “You’ll be okay, kid.”

Jeongguk thanked him and turned towards the window. His face fell.

You were facing towards the window, eyes closed and face full of ecstasy, as a guy had his head in the crook of your neck. He could recognize the both of you so easily, it hurt. Taehyung. Kim fucking Taehyung was kissing you in the street.

So that’s who you had hickeys from? Or did that just happen, and you fell under Taehyung’s spell? Either way, Jeongguk felt his throat tighten and his heart drop to his feet.

He tore his eyes away only after a few seconds. He wouldn’t let himself cry, or even be angry. He tried his best to stay numb, even though his tears said otherwise.

His phone vibrated and your nickname popped up, drawing his head up.

[ my favorite thot ] hey, something came up. can we meet tomorrow morning instead? back at home?

one of my favorite worst things to Think About are the ways herb’s casually neglectful childhood sometimes just....surfaces in the every day world of his life now. and since his whole shtick is my childhood was perfect my father is basically god and i have absolutely no parent issues idk what ur talking abt, he winds up having to flail, having to learn on the way down, and try to keep up a cover that he knew all along. which, usually, doesn’t work, and just makes it all the more sad. here’s a few examples i’ve thought of because i don’t love myself:

someone around the station gets stuck with something metal and comments they might need a tetanus shot. herb was definitely never taken to the doctor’s for a checkup and regular vaccinations as a child, and since he works daytime hours lucille takes the kids while he’s at work, so he literally has never had a shot and he doesn’t fully understand what vaccines are, aside from cultural osmosis, so he asks in telling confusion, “what’s that supposed to mean?” @piper-aileen-lenox specifically, thnx for making me think of this and ruining my life xx

when herb and lucille moved in together (i imagine they were engaged but maybe not married just yet) lucille made it clear to her rather sexist fiance that she was expecting him to tow the line around the house just as much as her, which he agreed to, except when she asked him to do the grocery shopping thinking that was a harmless thing he could do (not like she’d trust him to actually get the dishes clean or fold her clothes so they don’t wrinkle). they almost never had food consistently in the house growing up and if they did eat full meals, they only had the food for THAT MEAL around because 1. herb sr. and ruby (herb’s parents) lived an erratic lifestyle of little to no money or a whole lot of money but only for a second because it was burning a hole in herb sr.’s pocket, and because 2. ruby quickly learned spending money on food ahead was pointless because either herb sr. hecked off somewhere w/o warning and it went bad, or his deadbeat friends hung around and ate it all, so she only bought for that day if they had the money for anything. but since no one was ever around to TEACH herb anything and he figured most things out on his own, herb doesn’t understand all this and he literally thinks you’re not supposed to by food until you run out or that you have to throw out whatever you have left at the end of the week because....... who knows ???? that’s just what he thought. it caused multiple arguments early into herb and lucille’s relationship before she figured it out and explained it to him because he didn’t know well enough to ask.

when herb and lucille’s first child, bunny, was born, he had to be shown how to hold a baby by the doctor. he had literally never held or even interacted with a baby before until that moment. he had no siblings (that he knew of), he had no friends as a child because if he wasn’t the bully he was the target and he was an ass just like dear old dad so no one liked him anyway, and he had 0 other family. lucille realized in that moment as she watched his palpable confusion when she extended their newborn child to him that he was going to have a lot of learning and growing to do. she hoped he was ready for it.

god that time there was a station fam barbecue early into herb’s wkrp career and someone, maybe mr. carlson, is like ‘WHO WANTS TO BE THE GRILL MASTER’ like its a big deal and everyone is like oh it has to be herb bc he’s the newest out of us and hes aware all the men see it as a status symbol and he CAN’T be less of a man than another man bc Ego (tm) so hes like of course im the grill master !!! and then panics for the next thirty minutes because he’s literally never even stood next to a grill let alone used one HOW DOES IT WORK the first fifteen minutes he doesnt even have the gas on rip

when herb was, like, 15, he taught himself how to drive a car because one of his “friends” (peers who was a bully that he called a friend and hung out with to stop also getting bullied but who was still bullying him anyway, herb was just brainwashed into thinking that’s what friendship is) wanted them to go out cruising and herb wanted to be a Cool Guy and not look like a chump so he lied and said he could drive. they got pulled over, because of course they did, and herb got in big trouble for you know, driving w/o a licences. the kicker though is that herb didn’t fucking know you can’t drive without a license or that licenses and road tests and drivers ed were even a THING because he literally raised himself and no one ever  t a u g h t   h i m   a n y t h i n g. anyways his dad got called home to deal with it from wherever he was away at at the time and he got in big trouble for interrupting dear old dad’s work anyways so :) what a healthy family

surprisingly, herb DID know how to cook the basics. grilled cheese, pasta, stir fries, a couple casseroles. lucille asked him about it because he was always such a Gender Roles (tm) type of man who wouldn’t even wear a brighter shade of red than like. maroon. in case it got loosely contaminated with the concept of the color pink and he’d have to change his name and move to alaska. so why was he doing a “ womans job “ (cooking) and herb just looked confused and said “what, guys don’t cook?” she told him that no, they usually didn’t and would have laughed at her if she tried to make them, and he laughed awkwardly and absently stirred the pot on the stove and shrugged in mild confusion. “that’s weird. if i didn’t cook i’d have... starved, i guess.”

the bad news is his cooking wasnt GREAT and lucille was happy to take over because again.........self taught. and he has one (1) brain cell so. not Great

LITERALLY DIDN’T KNOW ALL CLOTHES DON’T HAVE TO BE DRY CLEANED. his dad literally wore clothes that had to be dry cleaned Every Day (and we wonder why the tarlek family was short on the food budget god) (and they were ugly clothes too akdhfjfg) and ofc if ruby washed her clothes, it was while herb was at school. he dry cleaned so many clothes that do Not Make Sense to dry clean in college before he slowly figured that out.

did not know what an allowance was. bunny asked him for one and not willing to seem stupid to his swift daughter he told her to ‘ask her mother’, who thought it was hecking weird that her money obsessed husband would say that, so she asked him why and after several long minutes he just shrugged helplessly and said “what’s an allowance?”

don’t even get me started on herb and lucille planning their wedding ( ‘what kind of stuff should we put on the gift register?’ “put on the WHAT?”  ‘what are we going to put on top of the cake?’ “there’s gonna be CAKE?”  ‘i can’t wait for daddy to walk down the isle with me, it’ll mean a lot to him’ “your DAD is gonna walk you down the isle....?? but you’re marrying ME, right?”   ) also herb not knowing the wedding look of the bride is supposed to be a Secret and barging into the room w a question or smth while lucille and her bridesmaids are getting ready, and everyone is hella miffed and he’s like WHAT i’ve seen her naked before and theyre all like THATS NOT THE POINT HERB

herb did Not Know about seasonal allergies. he just........didn’t know. he just thought god hated him and every spring and fall his head sprung a leak. and the whole time he was growing up no one A. listened to him complain about them and put 2 and 2 together, nor B. just taught him about basic first aid stuff in general for that matter he doesnt know shit. anyways, then lucille was like why are you such a tough guy just stop complaining and take some medicine for your stupid allergies and he was like take some what for my what now

ANYWAYS herb’s mom left while he was v young and he doesn’t remember much about her. herb’s dad was literally   n e v e r   home. the people herb’s dad left him with would work for obscenely low amounts of pay or owed herb sr. money and largely used all the money for their own food, drugs, alcohol, or other more unsightly business, and left herb alone to fend for himself. this is the disaster human that that produced, thanks, family dynamics! don’t abandon your children, kids, thanks for coming to my ted talk

ok so !!!! first thing’s first, she usually does by the nickname dolly. but she doesn’t care too much abt what u call her u can call her fuckass and she’d just be like what’s up

she’s a town native !!! grew up in a shitty area w a kind of shitty family. parents were never around, always off on benders or just....generally bein shitty parents. dolly & her older brother had to learn how to take care of themselves when they were pretty young and they’ve always done just fine. they didn’t have a lot of money so dolly got pretty good at playing up the cute lil girl role and getting free stuff out of ppl

as much as she claims she relies only on herself, she also relies heavily on the kindness of strangers bc without them she definitely would have gone hungry for real

in order to stay away from her house as much as possible she would hang out at the skating rink as a kid & eventually after stealing a pair of skates from the lost & found she taught herself how to skate & eventually figure skate as well. she’s always wanted to go pro but.....obviously couldn’t afford the training

her brother used to throw pretty big ragers in their place when their parents were gone so......she started drinking & doing drugs at a pretty young age & just generally hanging out with ppl who were much older than her & v bad influences.

trauma tw !! it was at one of these parties that she had a traumatic experience w one of her brother’s friends. she was 13 and she still hasn’t told anyone about what happened. it happened on more than one occasion and her brother is still friends w this boy so she just.....does her best to avoid him & pretend that nothing ever happened bc she refuses to acknowledge her trauma

she was pretty popular in school but never rly felt like she had any true friends ??? none of her relationships were all that deep and she mostly just hung out with people to get free stuff LMAO and like rides places i guess

but she does have her lil group of friends that she truly cares abt and when she actually cares abt u.......she’s around for LIFE u cant get rid of her sorry

hi u can ignore this if you've already talked abt it but what did andrew do to start changing your mind about him ?

hi there!! i've probably talked a little but not too in detail and it was a while ago so i can go over it again, and dont worry about crossing any lines, andrew is very open with his struggles and is okay with me talking about them (he sees every post as well).

he started doing small things like asking me if he could take Bubba for a weekend he wasn't scheduled to (he had her twice a month for three days before we got back together as i didn't trust him and couldn't stand being in a room with him). i was apprehensive the first time, but my bff invited me to drink at her house that weekend and it convinced me bc i missed drinking lol. i was a nervous wreck the entire weekend but she came back in one piece, and had new clothes and toys with her, and was the cleanest i'd ever seen her, so some of the trust came back.

then, he kept asking to take her random places. he'd text me and ask if he could take her grocery shopping with him and his mom, he'd ask if he could take her to the park randomly, and things like that. i was confused, but i let him, and she hated leaving him when he brought her back (yes, they do in fact love each other). he would also send me morning and night texts telling both me and bubba to have a great night. he'd text me and ask me how i was doing mentally and would say he just got a gut feeling to check up on me, and if i said i wasn't doing great, he would send me old memes that used to make us wheeze in high school and tell me funny things that have happened in his life. when i'd have a depressive episode, he'd bring over groceries, clean my apartment, do my laundry and take Bubba out for the day so she didn't have to see me at my lowest. when i'd had a meltdown (this was pre diagnosis and meds so they happened too often) he would even do my school work for me. the most important thing that stuck with me then was he would validate my feelings and how i was doing mentally, and never raised his voice even when i was being difficult.

on mothers day, we went out for breakfast and then were at the park, and he opened up. he told me what was going on in his home life, with his dad practically disowning him and divorcing his mom when he found out i was pregnant. he said he had finally gone to therapy, and said that in his first session he'd brought his mom with him and he had a breakdown not long into it because his therapist helped him realize how badly he'd hurt me and bubba, it helped him realize how much he loved me, and all the 'hate' he had in him was him projecting about his dad. he told me he was still in love with me, and wanted to get back together, but that we could do it at my pace, and that we could start off as friends, which i agreed.

i still was unsure about if he'd truly changed, but one day, Bubba was teething and wasn't feeling good. i was exhausted and on my period, and i couldn't calm her down, and i got so upset i ended up regressing, so both of us were in our apartment, sobbing on the kitchen floor because we were both smol lil babies and were both in pain. i forgot andrew was coming over, and when he did he instantly helped me. he calmed Bubba down, and called his mom to come over. she took care of Bubba and got her sleeping, and andrew took care of me. he was so calm and sweet, and sat with me in my quiet area of my bedroom and just sang praise songs to me since i hadn't gone to church in so long due to my anxiety. once i had calmed down, i explained to him what was happening, and what age regression was, and he was accepting, and told me that he'd love to be my caregiver if thats what i wanted.

it was a month or so after that that we actually got together. his mom had Bubba for the night and we were at his apartment and watching Harry Potter. he kept telling me he loved me and it was making me so nervous and shy and he started teasing me. he kissed me on the cheek a few times before actually kissing me and then we had sex for the first time and we both cried 😭.

we got together that night and have been together ever since. we went to a few sessions of couples counselling when we first got back together, and focused on developing our relationship and not just staying together for Bubba's sake.

i'm always open to questions about our relationship! this was a lot of fun to write, and it honestly feels like a dream how he did a complete 180 in less than a year, and i honestly believe its because his dad disowned him (he's a shitty person). im so in love w him yall
