uhhh so the number four is associated with death in certain cultures, including japanese, which is fitting for the butcher’s son, yes but just remember neil was supposed to be number three and jean was supposed to be number four ,and in every draft but one jean dies. he is symbolically saved from that fate by dodging the number four (being given, instead, the number three which represents REBIRTH of all things - i made a whole post about that if ur curious) because it means he was never marked for death. so in this draft, where he’s number three, but was supposed to be number four, he comes so close to death - to the point where renee doesn’t know how he’s still alive - because he was supposed to die, doomed by the narrative, but that number three saves him. that number three represents resurrection, and so he doesn’t die like he was supposed to. because he’s not number four, he’s number three. he comes back. he transforms, he heals. he becomes number 29 (i will eventually make a post about jean and the 29)

neil, though, was marked for death. he had the number four tattooed on him, and he goes through his own narrative believing he will die by the end of it. his survival, however, is foreshadowed in the very moment neil thinks he’s about to die - when he is kidnapped. lola burns the number four - the signifier of death - off his face, leaving him scarred, yes, but not marked for death anymore. and so he lives. and guess what: the number 10 represents the start of a new chapter, that one cycle is coming to an end and a new life is starting, one that you’ve worked hard for. so for the number four to be burned off of neil, that tells us neil is going to live. and when neil becomes neil legally, he settles into the number 10 properly. and his new life begins.

I've been fighting for my life while wrapping presents. This is only my second year wrapping presents in all of my life (I'm 26) and like I've looked up videos on YouTube and I try I fucking try but they're still not the fucking best if I'm being completely honest. No one taught me and I didn't wanna ask my parents cause the presents were for THEM. I feel like this year I improved but again not the best still, lol. Also if y'all wanna say where u learned (videos or class, etc) or if a person taught you? I'm also gonna vote no bc even tho I feel like I'm better than last year they could be better lol.

I apologize if I've ever hurt you and I take joy in every time I made you smile and I want you to be okay. And sometimes life is hard but I promise you are strong. And you're not alone. Know you have someone who is proud of what you've accomplished and who loves you, probably plenty of people because you're so awesome that it's probably inevitable, but at least one. Another day will come and You'll see the rain out of the window and feel the sunshine and smell the petrichor and fresh grass and feel the satisfaction of resting after hard work and feel the breeze on your skin and find beauty in little things, laughter, clothes swaying on a clothesline or leaves curling shriveling leaves like dying curses at the sky, or a soft sunset, or the breath of a cat as it lies on its side, a dog happy to see you, the grin of a person who catches sight of you like you're one of the best things in their life. There will always be hope and you will always be loved and I hope you find it soon and that you find it plenty.

Silly little coloured drawing I did of Charlie and Lola. I seriously loved this show as a kid, and rewatched the first few episodes recently. It's just like I remember it :D

Of course I had to draw Lola drinking pink milk—that stuff was one of my favourite things from the show as a kid, oddly. When I was little I thought it was doodh roohafza, but apparently it's actually just strawberry milk :,)
