Ramlethal has midscreen sword stick - it also looks like her flip is an overhead now maybe? (Genuinely I saw midscreen sword stick and fucking dropped my phone lmao I was shaken to my core) Also, she can cancel into sword slam (214H) now, which I think is a change that makes sense. I don't think it'll really affect anything combo routing wise as I don't think it recovers quickly enough to combo into itself or calvados on wall stick, but I might be wrong. Also it's -24 so who cares lol it'll be a yolo frametrap. It seems like they're trying to buff her midscreen presence though. Being able to end any combo with 214H gives pretty good Oki anywhere (look I might be wrong it's been ages since I played any ram)

Goldlewis almost made me start crying, as he can now cancel Behemoth Typhoons into each other (so he can just fucking explode you with very little effort, natural BT-BT-BT combos will do fucking crazy damage even just from the affect it has on combo decay alone) and it also looks like maybe the gravity scaling is affected? HOWEVER: it costs one half of the security gauge to cancel a BT into a BT. I like that actually, it'll make for more mindful security gauge usage and not relegate it to "I win neutral now." Also, 426H seems to have some kind of vacuum hitbox now? Either it's going to have some sweet spot stuff for wallbounce combos or the cancelled version will have different properties

Sol can combo into HMC. I wouldn't be surprised if they nerf the damage, or maybe it'll just be like HPB? ALSO: HE CAN CANCEL INTO FAFNIR. EITHER THAT OR 6S HAS REDUCED RECOVERY. That's fucking insane. Just completely insane. I'm hoping they give it a different version that can be cancelled into that does less damage or something but that seems REALLY strong. And Fafnir wallbounces now (if I'm wrong and he could already do these things let me know but I'm not all-to familiar with Sol)

Nagoriyuki also looked fucking insane, he can now naturally combo off of blood rage. It looks like the point of it is going to be for after a wallstick, but mark my words there will be routes that go into it before that to get big damage. Overall it doesn't look like it'll do anything other than making Shizu loops better but importantly - his blood rage super now seems to INSTANTLY APPLY the 50% health decrease. I feel like there's more behind the scenes that will be unveiled once the patch drops. The only effect I see currently is that Nago will rob the fuck out of you more often (for example, he has a CH Shizu loop that kills Ky at 57% with 0 RISC, I imagine this change will just push that somewhere into 60% but guts is weird so I'm not sure)

Elphelt can now combo into her grab super (this patch is just make all the grab supers unblockable hitgrabs huh) which will mean that: people actually use it and it isn't just a waste of meter lol

Overall it looks fun and I'm excited to test stuff when the patch comes out. The thing I like about it is that they seem to be leaning into the XRD feel of "everyone gets fucked up bullshit, so it works out to some sort of balance à la when everyone's super no-one will be." Very cool.

In honor of this blog, here are a few confessions of mine (never submitted before so I have a few)

First I did get into Guilty gear cause I saw a Strive character once and had to know more. Sorry guys. Surprisingly it wasn't Bridget (although I am trans). It was Faust

Secondly I'm hitting Ky with the transgenderification beam. It would not fix her but it would help in the long run (transgenderification does not carry over to Robo-ky imo)

Third I need to know whatever Raven, I-no, and Jack-o were doing in their free time. Asuka's shit squad of fuck. What kind of terrible was the vibe. Would this be the worst blunt rotation?

Fourth I am in love with Baiken and I am tired of having to specify that it's not just because of her tits. Her voice is what does a LOT for me, but it's really annoying to have to specify every time

Lastly I don't have many predictions for the next dlc besides obvious ones, but there are characters that I would literally die to have in a game again (Zappa, Answer, Zappa again, Jam, Kum. I need Zappa). However I do think the best option is Robo-ky. Why I hear the despairing crowds ask. Because he suck so terribly I need to see more of him. Idgaf if his gameplay is bad and janky. That actually is better imo

This is an “original Happy Chaos Unit” design. I can’t come up with a name (since Happy Chaos is taken). The only name I have is Winona, so I’ll use that here. Winona Valentine!

Physically, although she’s a clone of Aria like all Valentines, she’s kind of half baked so her age is around 15. Connected to that, she has an artificial personality composited of several people Asuka met during the Holy War. Alongside an unmatured logic core, this means she tends towards erratic or eccentric ideas.

Also, as a result of being unfinished, there would be a visual gag that she needs really needs glasses. Combined with her eccentricities, she makes weird assumptions about what is in front of her. For example, when presented with Sol Badguy, she wouldn’t think, “This is Sol Badguy, the person Asuka inoculated my mind with knowledge about!” She would think, “This is a very blurry bear! I’m in danger!”

Winona summons and wields a giant sword and has a similar fighting style to Kliff Undersn. She was designed to be able to combat Justice, or beings connected to infinity like I-No, so that she can place limits on their power. The idea is that her sister, Jack-O, is meant to act as a sort of ‘patch.’ Winona is meant to ‘reboot’ the data by cutting into it and forcing a default. Basically, she cuts into a data overflow and causes a bug, returning it to the minimum. Not an immortal killer, but an immortal soft rebooter.

Her arcade story focuses on her abrupt awakening in a world where her intended purpose has been averted, and then the following journey to locate her “sister unit” Jack-O Valentine. I think she’s motivated by a memory of her sister saying “I can’t wait to meet you!”

This begins with an encounter with Testament (her story partner) as they lead her through Ramlethal, Elphelt, Ky, Sol, and either Asuka or Jack-O’ depending on the route. The route is basically her asking different people if they’ve seen her sister and then fighting due to a misunderstanding or a test. It’s not helped that she can’t see very well.

It’s a funny visual image in my head, but also kind of sad. She doesn’t recognize Jack-O because she thinks she’d look like herself (white hair), but Jack-O’ has red hair now.

How do you feel that the game finally confirmed that sol bad guy is the biological father of dizzy, the biological grandfather of Sin and father in law of Ky

The story "says" they are family, but tends to step OVER the fact that none of this has EVER been explained in the story (not even a little bit).

I discussed this at length when discussing Ky's situation a while ago.

First of all, let's remember that Aria never had intimate relations (enough to get pregnant) with Frederick prior to being frozen in cryostasis in 2016. She never even says anything (nor does Jack-O') about having children.

Frederick had only just barely had time to "pop the question" of Marriage to her (through a cryptic computer coding prank no less), never mind the idea that Aria was used as the "Template" not just for Justice, but for future Command Type Gears and Valentines who aren't Dizzy (much less any other Command Type Gear, Solaria, I'm looking at YOU, Gig, I'm also looking AT YOU.)

Secondly, Sol (obviously) fought Justice TWICE during the Crusades after the year 2172. A grand total of two times, and the THIRD time Sol fought her was in 2180, which resulted in her death.

If Justice WAS pregnant sometime prior to being unsealed in 2180, there's absolutely no strong record of it, short of anything GG2 Overture has suggested as a possibility. And it most certainly was NOT from Sol's hands, since he's the one who KILLED her.

Sol himself is somewhat rattled whenever Dizzy mentioned the idea of being her biological father, since not only does that connect him to Ky and Sin (which he previously had zero knowledge of), but also the very idea that he had intimate relations with his FORMER mortal enemy: a Gear.

Sol was a Gear, make no mistake, but he swore he would kill and dismantle ALL Gears (not long after being betrayed by Asuka a while ago). Bedman even cracks jokes about this paradox in Xrd Sign.

Sol's excuse for sparing Dizzy from her fate of "Death as a Gear" was because he "made a mistake, not all Gears want to fight and/or die" (to paraphrase what he says in Guilty Gear X upon his first encounter with Dizzy).

It's because Dizzy didn't want to fight that Sol spared her, that's the initial reason... there wasn't anything MORE to that (and Sol doesn't even mention the idea that Dizzy even remotely reminded him of Aria... in fact the similarity was much closer with the first Valentine than with Dizzy herself).

He doesn't even make much comparison to Justice, other than the Michael Sword, Imperial Ray, and Gamma Ray (and let's not talk about Necro Install, shall we?)

It's worth noting that when Dizzy encounters Kliff Undersn (in a possible what-if scenario) she says he reminds her of her "Father", but is nonspecific as to whether she means her biological father or her adopted parents (whom raised her and also took in Testament some time later).

Speaking of Kliff, there's also a point when Crow Kuruwaba (of the former Postwar Administration Bureau) has Dizzy face a "simulated Battle" of both Kliff's and Sol's "Crusades Era Combat Data", and Dizzy claims the experience is "Nostalgic".

How can someone who is NOT accustomed to fighting claim that a battle record of two fighters that occurred several years before she was even BORN claim something is "nostalgic"?

Oh but there's more... see, Dizzy "remembers" the Forbidden Beasts (Kinjuu) like Eddie (Zato's Life-Stealing Shadow Organism), and remembers their purpose as naturally-programmed "enemies" of the Gears.

Exactly HOW does someone who was raised in a CAVE for much of her childhood know these things???

Unless she herself somehow "tumbled out of a hidden Gear-Plant Research Facility" and winded up in a civilian village as a kid?

As a child, Dizzy didn't even HAVE Wings OR a Tail, she was just a normal kid at first... and nobody in the village knew where she'd even COME from.

And let's not forget Crow Kuruwaba's "obsession" with trying to clone Dizzy in to an Army of Mass Production Angelic Command Type Gears... and this was LONG BEFORE Valentines were created by the Universal Will (Merciless Apocalypse's Children).

Dr. Paradigm was also somewhat cryptic when he said Dizzy was a "Reproduction of Justice"... so what DOES reproduction even MEAN in this Context, Dr. P? Biological Reproduction? Cloning? Artificial Insemination?

And let's not forget about the CUBE that Asuka R. Kreutz was working on in GG2 Overture... just what WAS that thing, Asuka???

Supposedly it had Sol's Genetic Gear Template Data embedded in it as a "genetic key" (Prime Field) that Valentine later stole from Sin Kiske.

But what was Sin doing with the Prime Field? How did HE get something that Asuka was trying to lock up and seal away?

Asuka didn't even KNOW that Dizzy was connected with Justice genetically in any way, shape, OR form... if he KNEW that Dizzy was connected with Justice, he probably would have created more countermeasures, not just for Dizzy, but for Sol as well!

But the cat's out of the bag: Sin has the Prime Field Gear Genes, the so-called "Blood of Juno" (suggesting the Scales of Juno was embedded in Dizzy's Gene Pool, despite the fact the Scales were NOT installed in Justice initially and only LATER ON installed in Jack-O'!!!).

So what does the Prime Field Gear Genes, the Scales of Juno... and so on and so forth, have anything to DO with Dizzy? Especially when Asuka R. Kreutz had NO AWARENESS OF HER EXISTENCE????

The only POSSIBLE person who could have orchestrated this (Crow Kuruwaba?) hasn't been seen in years, and if they are around, they're probably connected SOMEHOW with Happy Chaos.

And knowing "Chaos" he probably is the ONE who inadvertently created Dizzy just by being in the wrong place at the right time during the Crusades. (To say nothing of how many other things he did posing as "That Man" in place of Asuka.)

Okay... let's brush aside the idea that Dizzy has "artificial memory implants", let's also brush aside the idea that Dizzy's "Blue hair" looks absolutely nothing like Sol's or Justice' hair.... let's brush aside the whole "Blood of Juno" thing for a moment...

Even if Dizzy was "artificially created", as Eddie once stated "Weapons don't form families, they form arsenals"... that's what Dizzy's original PURPOSE was: a Biological Weapon.

It's a harsh truth... but since when does a Biological Weapon have a Heart? Have Dreams? Have HOPE for the Future?

Well, Dizzy had all those and more.

No matter what Dizzy's original "purpose" was, she defied it and insisted on becoming a "human being" (even if by the smallest definition of one).

If "becoming human" means "Loving other people" or "Having a family", it's not a bad idea... certainly beats marching in an army for hundreds of years only to get scrapped by humans (or fellow Gears) who would casually scorn your existence.

Of course, that PURPOSE is still deeply tied to Dizzy's existence, much like the Flame of Corruption is also just as tied to Sol's history.

Will that change anything? Will her position have more meaning to it for humanity now that she has chosen to become a Queen?

Well, according to Vialattea's Property Values, numbers don't lie, apparently. She must be doing SOMETHING right.

As for being Sol's daughter... well, even if the truth is obscured in darkness for thousands of years only to get dredged up by some info-broker like Bedman or something... I'm sure Dizzy already accepted her OWN truth about Sol in her heart (regardless of what the actual truth may be).

As for how Sol feels... it's probably a nice change of pace from living alone for hundreds of years: having a family, that is.

Even if Adopted, even if Symbolic, family is still family.

Weapons may form Arsenals, but those people with Hearts in them can share those hearts with those they love. Even if those Hearts are "a little rusty".

(P.S. Edit: AND DON'T GET ME STARTED on Dizzy's "Mysterious Connection" with Sol's OutRage...)

I haven't done any kind of RP since about 2004 and have no idea what any of the specific terminology means. Making this up as I go!! Also dunno how long I'll feel like doing this for but I won't know until I give it a shot.

Now that the Strive storyline ended, what now?

All the plots were tied up with a bow, the main conflict is resolved, and the main cast of characters are content.

Gears are becoming more accepted in society, Sol retired with his wife, and Ky stepped down from being the First King of Illyria to focus on his family more.

Now what? How could the story even continue?

Enter Happy Chaos. The living breathing plot device. A man(?) who lives for action! For a story! To make sure that “no one falls asleep in history class again.”

Happy Chaos is a character that could kickstart a new plot out of boredom alone. And he probably will. We know who he is, and how often his motives can change, with him having stated that he had the options of being the antagonist or an ally, depending on what’s more interesting.

Hell, his entire moveset could change in the next game! We don’t even know if he’ll be a “he” in the next game! And why did he say that he was “finally here” in the post-credit scene on the beach!

All the more questions! What a wacky guy, that Happy Chaos.

Also it’s pretty funny that he stole that name from the unfinished Jack-O unit made by Asuka because Chaos thought the name was neat.
