“And we’ll all ro--” Or, at least, they were quite a bit more hopeful until feeling something (someone) getting on board. Swift as lighting, she instantly grabbed a gun and twirled to face the stranger ready to shoot. Except it wasn’t a stranger at all, and said gun only lasted a few seconds aimed at him. 

“Hey.”

“What the fuck, Ekko!”

“I’d have knocked, but there’s no doors here.” He replied, and maybe she shouldn’t have laughed, but they did nonetheless.

“And here I hoped you guys would pick up on the clues with me being already too far to be found.” A brief sigh of frustration accompanied those words; it wasn’t like seeing Ekko again wasn’t nice, but… But it defeated the purpose of getting away, sort of? “Anyway, you’re not gonna convince me of turning this thing around.”

An unintelligible sound escaped from his throat, but answering verbally didn’t follow immediately. Instead, Ekko stretched his arms, clearly offering a hug. And, after a moment of hesitation, Jinx wrapped her own arms around him.

“Can I at least convince you to be your co-pilot for a bit?” It was barely a whisper, but with their current physical closeness, there was no need for him to speak louder.

“You can.”

steve doesn’t like going to sleep. it’s stupid, he knows. sleep is good for you. robin keeps telling him.

he would like to stay up all night. it’s quieter. lonelier, in a good way. when he can ignore the little sounds from outside, the scratching of branches against the glass of windows, the rustling of rabbits hopping through shrubs, the fluttering of dry leaves, he can actually feel fine. no kids to drive around town, no customers to tolerate and smile at, no sun to squint in.

he stays up too late.

watching movies and baseball games, flipping through magazines and books, baking. he bakes now, apparently. mike teases him relentlessly, but he always seems happy when steve passes him an extra cookie.

but steve always gets sleepy eventually. he’s always tired.

nightmares wake him up. every night.

he opens his eyes gasping, searching the dark for anything at all. he shivers from the chill of his sweat drying on his skin even though he sleeps under blankets. and he’s shaking. he’s always shaking.

the dreams change.

the kids are usually involved. laying in their usual puppy pile, but their chests are still, their eyes glazed over blankly, their skin painted red. nancy is there, a bullet in her head. jonathan, gutted and eviscerated.

eddie. staring at him. arms fallen to his sides, palms facing the sky. blood seeping into the ground around him, red so dark it looks black.

robin.

her voice fading in her mouth as she says steve’s name.

blood staining her lips.

other times the dreams don’t make any sense.

one night he wades through broken glass that’s flooding the house. it slices his skin with every shift of his arms, and the front door doesn’t seem to move any closer.

another night he hears robin’s voice calling his name, but no matter where he goes, her voice is distant. desperate. scared.

every night is confusing.

dustin loses his teeth. lucas’s arms break. the wheelers’ house catches fire. robin’s freckles wash away in the rain. steve finds himself trapped in the hawkins high elevator, and the mirror shatters when he looks into it. his parents come home and he falls apart when they say his name. he gets trapped in his blankets and suffocates. he trips and falls through a crack in the pavement.

sometimes he wakes up with tears in his eyes, streaming down his cheeks. his muscles are sore from how tense he is, and he feels more tired than he did before he fell asleep.

and it’s miserable. it’s so fucking miserable.

he longs for just a few hours of sleep.

for some fucking rest. he catches short naps sometimes during the day, during hangouts in the wheelers’ basement, while the kids are arguing about dungeons and dragons or whatever book series they’re all into. during his breaks at family video, as he’s lounging on the sofa.

he can fall asleep anywhere. sometimes he naps in his car, using robin’s forgotten sweater as a pillow. once he laid on the floor to color with holly, but he fell asleep before he finished his first picture. he woke up to a purple mustache and cartoonish glasses from mike.

it’s never enough. he’s perpetually exhausted.

and he wonders if his ghost can see it on him. can see him toss and turn and cry and wipe his face clean when the sun comes up. if it just watches him.

if maybe that’s why it helps him out, turning the water colder, pushing glasses across the counter so they’re closer to him. one morning he wakes up with his blanket tucked around him in a way it usually isn’t, and he’s curious.

when he starts feeling rested in the mornings, he’s mostly confused, but he’s scared to acknowledge it. like it’ll jinx him, like it’ll turn everything back to the way it was.

he’s still scared to go to sleep, even though he keeps waking up with no memory of nightmares.

he still falls asleep.

during movie night, he’s close to drifting off when something touches his face, brushing down the bridge of his nose. when he opens his eyes, he just sees the ceiling, and he suppresses a smile.

his ghost.

steve might love them.

his ghost taps the end of his nose when he closes his eyes again, and he holds back an honest-to-god giggle, like he’s a kid with a crush. and then he drifts off there, arm around robin, revelling in the ghost’s gentle touch.

after a while, he’s half awake, and he opens his eyes the slightest bit. it’s dark. robin is asleep next to him. the kids are still talking, their voices hushed around the sound of whatever movie they’ve got on now.

steve sighs and rests his head on the back of the sofa, closing his eyes again.

something brushes his cheek. he opens his eyes and then closes them again when he sees that there’s nothing there, and he turns his face into the touch.

it presses more firmly, spreading over his cheek and his jaw, and steve realises that it’s a hand, holding his face gently.

a hand. a man’s hand, strong and soft and almost fucking tender, like steve is fragile.

steve’s eyes burn. he doesn’t know why. he tilts his head, trying to turn his face into the palm, and the ghost lets him, stroking their thumb over steve’s cheek.

steve exhales shakily. robin shifts next to him.

‘you okay?’ she mumbles sleepily, and he looks at her. the fingers on his cheek stroke over his skin gently.

‘yeah,’ he whispers. ‘i’m good.’

she hums and turns to lay her head on his chest, her cheek squishing against him.

he gazes at her for a moment before he closes his eyes again, and he kind of wants to beg for the ghost to touch him again.

he doesn’t think he’s ever felt anything like it. so brief but so…

he doesn’t know.

kind, maybe.

it’s a few moments later when the ghost touches his cheek. steve presses his lips together to suppress a smile. and the air shifts like the ghost is smiling too as they trace his face so lightly it almost tickles.

and he wonders where the ghost is right now, if they’re sitting on the side of the sofa, or leaning over him, looking down at him. steve squeezes his eyes shut, focussing on the feeling of the ghost’s fingers, the feeling of robin breathing against him, her chest rising and falling steadily.

he drifts off again with a sigh, and then smell of leather and earth wafts over him like a breeze, and it washes over him like sunlight. he melts into the sofa with another sigh, and he’s overtaken by an odd feeling he’s never felt before. a sad kind of happy.

Do you think Dawn's friend Janice survived to the end of the series?

Evidence to suggest she did:

Janice is mentioned in half a dozen episodes and is pretty well established as Dawn's best friend; you might therefore assume we would be told if she died and we are not (the last time Janice is mentioned in the show is when Dawn claims she's planning to sleep over at her place).

Evidence to suggest she didnt:

That last mention of Janice comes in Seeing Red, a few episodes before the end of Season 6. If Janice is alive and was Dawn's best friend, why is she never mentioned again? (We're also not told that they had a falling out or that Janice's family moved away: that Season 6 reference is just the last time she exists as far as the show is concerned.)

The little we see of Dawn in Season 7 (especially in episodes like Help and Him and Potential) is not exactly consistent with the idea that she has anybody her own age to talk to, let alone that she has a non-superpowered friend who she talks to regularly and whose family she likes spending time with.

Janice is an ordinary teenage girl who only actually appears in one episode, which tends to be a bad sign on this show (see: Emily from The Puppet Show, Sheila from School Hard, Theresa from Pangs, Debbie from Beauty and the Beasts.)

Janice is almost killed by a vampire in All The Way, and is only saved (by Buffy) beause she happens to with Dawn. If she's not hanging out with Dawn anymore, who's going to save her from the next monster she runs into?

We don't see Janice in Season 7, but we do see the entire town she lives in be overrun by monsters and then fall into a hole in the desert.

If she survives, she would I think be the only character on the show whose name starts with the letter J to do so, outliving Jesse, Jenny, Joyce and Jonathan. (Okay, we don't know that Season 5's Jinx died for sure either, but I think we can reasonably assume it.)

WIP Wednesday - Fic Naming

So, this was supposed to be posted last Wednesday, but well, you guys saw the anon. Anyway, I know it's usually you give me a title and I make up a story to go with it, but I suck at thinking up cool titles, so I thought I'd do a reverse of that game. I'll describe my fics, and you guys send in a title that you think will fit it. Or you can just send words of encouragement if you're as stumped as me.

All of these are ones that have their first chapters finished or are close to being finished. I thought I'd maybe attempt to post a bunch after my birthday. I think I might be slightly less busy then? Though, i feel like I'm jinxing myself by saying that.

And before I forget, WARNING! Dark shit is listed below! Expand the post only if you're into that sort of thing!

Addams Family Values AU - Everything that happened in the Addams Family Values movie happened exactly the same way except that Debbie/Steve lives and it's set in the omegaverse. Argyle is Eddie's adoptive brother and is married to Jonathan. El and Will are Wednesday and Pugsley. The Party are a combination of Joel. While Hopper and Joyce are Lurch and Granny. Eddie is a bit worried that his relationship with his mate will go stale if Steve keeps up these passionate murder attempts, so Argyle helps him think of a way to get him to settle down, which is to get Steve pregnant.

Canon Real DnD - Basically, anything that Eddie makes happen in his campaign happens in real life. It takes place pre-s4 then moves on through s4, but instead of Vecna, Eddie is using his author stand-in as the main villain and in turn grows more powerful. He, of course, abuses this power to make Steve into a blushing virgin who wants Eddie to fuck him and at one point, Eddie proceeds to feminize Steve. I want Steve to get pregnant at some point because of the campaign, I think, but right now, it's just something that's in the planning stages of the later chapters.

Cyberpunk Bitching Drugs - This one is one of the fantasy prompts that I'm expanding on. The cyber network in it isn't science-based and instead runs on magitech (my favorite kind of tech). In this, Eddie runs a pharmaceutical company that produces drugs/potions to help with omega and alpha medical problems. Eddie tricks his intern Dustin into giving Steve something that is supposed to help with his worsening ruts but in reality bitches Steve then Eddie gets him pregnant. There's also some light brainwashing as Eddie uses subliminal messages to manipulate Steve into thinking that he needs help with his ruts in the first place. Going try to get this to go through Steve's pregnancy, so it won't be a one-shot like System Hacked was.

Dark God Cult AU - When he was a kid, Steve was kidnapped and brought up in a cult where he was to be with Eddie (the reincarnation of a dark forest god) before the cops found him and brought him back to this parents. Years later, Steve goes on a camping trip with a couple of friends near where the cult compound used to be and one by one those on the camping trip start being ritualistically murdered. While the murders are happening, Steve begins having visions of himself as a pregnant goddess who makes love with an eldritch abomination aka Eddie. Heavily inspired by the Blair Witch Project, though there are some other horror movies in the mix, too. This one will definitely have a murder husbands vibe by the end of it.

Lost Boys Mermaid AU - The movie Lost Boys, except with mermaids. Steve is brought with his parents when they go out of town for business then they promptly ignore him and go to do their work. As he's wandering around, Steve comes across a supposed metal band, Corroded Coffin, and their lead singer, Eddie, becomes particularly enthralled with Steve, so much so that he begins turning Steve into a mer and his mate. Though, it does branch off from the movie in that, unlike David, Eddie succeeds in making Steve his mermaid bride and bringing him into his murderous pod.

Mummy (1999) AU - Based on the movie The Mummy (obviously) and has Steve as a former archeologist, who tanked his career after returning scarred from the horrors he saw when he was drafted into the Great War (WWI) and now more focuses on drowning himself to forget while attempting to help boost Robin's, his adoptive sister's, career. Nicknamed "King Steve" by some of the bars he frequently visits. Eddie is a Medjai warrior, who let a French Foreign Legion soldier go, not expecting her to survive the harsh desert. Nancy defied his expectations, and now Eddie must fix his mistake before the mummy that his people have guarded for centuries is released. There's also a small soulmates au plotline buried in it between Eddie and Steve due to me working the events of the Mummy Returns into the plot.

Omega Transmigration - Loosely, and I mean LOOSELY based on the show Outlander (which I've never seen). Omega Steve gets sent back through time and space to a medieval world where magic is real and elves are rebelling against their human oppressors. After helping an Elven boy with his modern day medical techniques, due to him being an EMT, Steve is brought directly into the stronghold of the elves. The leader there, Wayne, doesn't believe that Steve's intentions were altruistic and wants to have Steve hanged as a spy regardless. Eddie steps in and claims Steve is his true mate. Steve then goes through a process that turns him into a beautiful Elven omega and directly ties his fate to that of the Elven clan's. This one probably won't be that dark and will more follow Steve's struggle to fit in with the clan along with the war with the humans itself.

Omega Rehab - Uses a Victorian Clockwork Punk setting where Steve's parents are traditionalists. After getting into a few fights with alpha and running out of etiquette schools, Steve's parents convince him to try one last place before they leave him alone for the rest of his life, which is the Munson Omega Rehabilitation Center. Steve goes, believing that it will be more of the same, but the Munson Center has a different, more "scientific" way of rehabilitating the omegas that are sent to them. Eddie, of course, personally takes charge of Steve's training to turn him into the perfect little omega, who will happily carry the pups of his alpha without complaint. This one includes Steve training with mechanical sex dolls like in HoLN.

Pet Succubus AU - Steve comes from a family of witches who used demons to power their way of life. The higher up demons finally caught onto their schemes and slaughtered most of the family. Eddie took Steve as a pet, transforming him to have a woman's body before training him by way of fucking machine to become a sex addict. Once Steve is trained, Eddie turns Steve into a succubus and shows off his pretty little pet every chance he gets, keeping the new demoness stuffed full and satisfied. There isn't a lot of plot to this one, just more of an excuse to write extended scenes of Steve being trained by a machine as Eddie watches.

Royal Hypnotism AU - Someone called me a sick fuck over the original prompt, so I decided to make this one worthy of the name-calling. Set in a futuristic magitech society, King Eddie comes across Steve's small village and falls for him. He secretly buys Steve from his family and takes him with him to the summit where he's meeting his friends and fellow kings to discuss what's going on in their kingdoms. In Gareth's kingdom, where they're meeting, there's been some small rebellions, but Gareth stopped them by kidnapping the leaders and putting them through a feminization facility/factory and hypnotizing them in order to rewrite their memories. He proposes to send Steve through with the next batch and turn him into Grant's sister. Eddie agrees, and Steve is turned into a princess.

Time Travel AU - Redoing this one slightly, but I'm going to put it on the list anyway. What's different from when I first posted the snippet is that Steve is going to be feminized due to the portal that sends him back to the 80's. One, to make it more understandable why Steve doesn't recognize himself before he goes to the past. Then two, so that Eddie can get him pregnant, because I like getting Steve pregnant. Plot is the same though, Dustin sends Steve back in time to be the big sibling he always wanted and Eddie seduces Steve so that he marries him and stays in the past as a woman to become his wife and the mother of his children. Eddie might go a little darker than simply seducing Steve, but we'll see how it goes as I get through more chapters of the story.

Upside Down Transformation - In this one, everything that happened in s4 happened, only difference is that Eddie survived and Vecna is perma dead. They all return to their normal lives when Eddie notices that he's slowly changing, getting taller and stronger. His dick is getting bigger and thicker, too. He notices, also, that Steve is changing, too, but doesn't realize that it's to a different extent. Steve is humiliated to find out that he's going through the opposite kind of transformation, becoming more feminized. He tries to isolate himself, but Eddie barges in on him and catches Steve masturbating with his new pussy. The two fuck. They're basically the equivalent of alphas and omegas because of their bat bites and are the only ones in the world. I kind of plan to make it just a porny one-shot, but then because it's set in canon, my brain wants the government to capture them and experiment on them. So, it'll probably be a series, maybe, if this one receives positive feedback once it's posted.

I put a hold on my hxh fic to work on something else to hopefully get two one-shots done since they're very close to being finished. So here's a snippet of a few one-shots i've been working on.

Faith's first Christmas (i hope to have this done this month)

Simon walked to the back door leading to the garden with Faith on his hip while Liz went to the closest to grab her jacket. She grabbed the gray bomber jacket from the hanger and put it on while also shoving her feet into a pair of boots.  She walked over to him with a smile. “Okay, I’m ready.”  He opened the door, letting the cold winter air hit their faces as they made their way outside.  It sent a shiver down her spine as they stood out in the yard watching the snowfall. She’s been living in England for the past four years and still hasn’t gotten used to the cold. But seeing the smile on Simon’s face and the look of curiosity on Faith’s made it so worth it.  She reached her little hand out at the snowflakes and bounced excitedly in her daddy’s arms every time a snowflake landed on her hand.  Liz couldn’t help but smile.

John laughed and shook his head. “So, do you agree with the members of the team?”  She sighed through her nose and nodded. “Yeah, I guess. Like you said, there’s probably like a twenty percent chance I’ll be working with them.” “Who knows, you might be working with them a lot more.” He smirked. “A lot can happen.”  “Don’t jinx it Jonathan.” She crossed her arms and huffed. “We don’t need any more shit going on. What happened in Urzikstan was enough.”

Steve is sitting out on the porch of Hopper’s cabin, lit joint dangling from his mouth.

“Steve?” Robin drops down next to him, a frown pinching between her brows.

“Hey, Birdie,” he murmurs, watching as smoke curls through the night air. He turns to stub out the joint, sparing Robin the secondhand hit.

“Are you…well, I know you’re not okay. You want to talk about it?”

Steve shrugs, staring up at the night sky. They’re far enough from town that there’s no light pollution. But the dusting of stars he knows are visible is blocked by the canopy of trees surrounding them. “You ever think about how…weird this all is?”

Robin doesn’t laugh at him, even though she probably should. Instead, she rests a hand on his back and stares up in the same direction he’s facing. “Yeah, all the time.”

Steve leans into her side, resting his head against her shoulder. “We lose someone every time,” he says. Quiet, like if he says it too loud he’ll…what? Jinx them? He shakes his head. “And somehow it hasn’t really touched me yet.” He reaches out a hand as though to blot out the words, or take them back. Something about them feels wrong, leaves him twisted with guilt.

“I was sad when we found out Barb died, but it was…abstract. There was never a body, and I didn’t know her at all. Didn’t even really know what the potential of knowing her might be. I was sad because Nancy was sad. But mostly I was just…guilty and scared.”

 Robin rubs at his shoulder, making a vague comforting sound. “That makes sense.”

Steve shrugs, and somehow the movement doesn’t jostle Robin at all. She sits there steadfast. “I guess so.” He takes a shaky breath. “And then there was Bob, and that devastated Joyce—and I think Will, and even Jonathan and Mike, too. And we thought we lost Hopper, and Murray lost some friend he made last year in the mess of everything, and now—” Steve’s voice cracks, and he doesn’t bother reaching up to try to stem the tide of tears he feels building, because crying in front of Robin never counts. Or maybe it’s the only time it counts? “And now Eddie, and I-I can’t—” he can’t get the rest out because the tears have built to a sob, and his chest is too tight, and he can’t breathe—

“Hey, hey,” Robin says, low and urgent, her own voice a little choked. “I’m right here.” Something damp lands on Steve’s head and if he turns to look at her he knows he’ll find tears pouring down her face as well.

“I know,” he gasps out. “And I’m so—I’m so fucking relieved that I didn’t lose you or-or Dustin, or any of the kids, or Nance, and I—I feel like shit, because Dustin lost him, and-and Mike did, and Max is—” he can’t bring himself to say anything about Max, because she’s still alive. She’s going to make it, because she has to. The alternative is—it’s unacceptable.

“Hey.” Robin’s voice is firm, and she’s pushing, pulling at him, making him turn to look at her. He lets himself be moved like a rag doll, staring at Robin’s tearstained face. “You don’t need to feel bad about being relieved that any of the rest of us made it, alright? It doesn’t mean you’re happy Eddie didn’t, or whatever else is running through your head right now. I’m relieved that you survived. And I’m grateful to Eddie for getting Dustin to safety, even though I’m also pissed at him for running back into danger as though that kid wasn’t going to just jump right back in after him. And I’m so fucking relieved that Erica and Lucas didn’t get hurt more than they did, but I’m also absolutely livid at all of us for not thinking Jason and his shithead lackies might try to come after them. It’s okay to have messy feelings when someone dies. It’s a messy business.”

Steve nods slowly, face sandwiched between Robin’s hands. They’re soft on his face. Gentle, as she rubs a thumb across one cheek, and brushes hair out of his face with the other. “I thought…” he hiccups. “I thought maybe…I thought we could be friends, after everything. And now we’re never going to get the chance.”

“Yeah.”

“I just want it all to be over.” Steve feels like all of his strings have been cut. If Robin wasn’t still holding him up he’d have collapsed back into her by now. “And it’s not. It never is. I feel like I’m just waiting for it to catch up to me. For my luck to run out or—”

Robin’s hands tighten on his face and Steve blinks his eyes back open, not realizing he’d closed them. “Stop. You can’t—I can’t—” The tears are rolling down her face again, and snot is dribbling from her nose and she looks distraught and Steve feels sick, because he did that, he put that there, and “—you can’t give up on me, okay?” Robin’s grip is so tight Steve feels like she’s crushing his head, and she’s looking at him with steel in her eyes. “Whatever ever happens, whatever’s coming…you have to fight, Steve? You have to promise to make it out the other side. There’s going to be another side.”

“You don’t know that.”

“I know that I can’t lose you. I know that anywhere you go, I’m gonna follow.”

Panic lances through Steve’s chest like a stab to the heart. “No.”

Robin just shakes his head in her hands. “You’re not getting rid of me, dingus. Not even in death.”

Steve wants to shake his head, but he can’t. “You can’t die Robs. You gotta live.”

“Then I guess you have to, too, asshole.” Robin smiles and drops a hand down from his face. “Promise me?” She extends a pinkie.

Steve stares at her, and doesn’t know what to say. They both know this is a promise that neither of them can keep. And they both know that’s not the promise she’s asking him to make. He links his pinkie with hers. “Promise.”

Activity on my first listen: New day, new session of putting up a new fence!

Forsake the Ceaseless Watcher, abandon your position, and you shall be spared in the blind world to come." Well, she jinxed it... (Also, kind of foreshadowing of Jonah's age? Yeah, he's not referenced directly here, but I mean it's canon?)

"I remembered in my heart that deep down they were vicious, spiteful people who used their faith to hurt others" That’s something you hear quite often from religious fanatics...

"But the natural state of the universe is darkness." ... She's kind of right? Also another overlap to the Vast again (another one being dark water, deep seas.)

"And I tell them to look again at ‘life,’ at the pain and suffering and misery that it brings with it." Is the Peoples' Church antinatalistic?

"Did you know that the oldest single thing on Earth given life by the light is the Great Basin bristlecone pine tree?" GAsdlkasf, that's another question showing up in the Jonathan asks you things-video xD The question starts sooo dramatic and then it's a happy little tree!

"Otherwise, well, weight is very important when planning a launch, and it could hardly have escaped their notice that there were four people, in that rocket. Kind of a pity this gets swept under a rug. We hear pretty little about that one, so little that after my first listen I wondered if I have just dreamed this part.

"I suppose there is also an element of provocation here as well. Even with the loss of Darvish, we will still be victorious." Totally forgot about Darvish again... Had to look up the name, absolutely could not remember where it came up before. (If anyone's wondering, MAG 109.)

JON: "I don’t – like interacting with the rest of the Institute these days. The way they look at me, I – I don’t know. I don’t know what they’ve heard, what the rumors going around are, but –" Is it different now than with Gertrude? Gertrude was always into some bullshit, all her assistants died (how many were there? 5? Fiona, Emma, Eric, Sarah and Michael), did any of the other Institute staff ever noticed anything? Sasha at least got that the old lady thing was just a facade...

ELIAS: "There was. (handcuffs rattle) It required you to be absent." BASIRA: (sigh) "You wanted him to go in there." ELIAS: "And you would never have allowed it, had you been present." BASIRA: "Why?" ELIAS: (cheek) "Would you simply believe I wanted you and Daisy reunited?" BASIRA: "No." Yeah good, don't trust Elias' bullshit. It'd be more believable if he said he thought Daisy could act as a "replacement" for Melanie, since they lost her as a fighter. Does Elias consider Basira a threat to his plan? Or just another tool? She gets quite hostile towards his precious Archivist, which could be dangerous.

ELIAS: "Fine. Consider it a test. Things are – coming, things that will need John to be far stronger and more willing to use his connection to our patron. His performance during the Unknowing was… disappointing. I needed a way to force him to harness his ability more acutely than he had before. The coffin was a useful tool, Daisy an adequate bait." I never believed Elias' stupid Archivist training montage. I've talked about this before, I always thought it was a weak excuse and I'm happy it was just this: an excuse XD

BASIRA: "But what’s the point? You aren’t getting your ritual off from in here, so what do you need him for? (inhale) What’s so important you need him stronger?" Yes, exactly this! I also thought there is no way Elias is a threat right now. But his most dangerous expertise has always been manipulation based on knowing more than others do and this he can perform quite adequately from the inside of a prison cell it seems. As long as he got connections to the outside, he'll find a way. And I have to say, he does provide rather good excuses for his "reason" to make Jon stronger by whipping up ritual after ritual and enemy after enemy who has to be stopped.

ELIAS: "You thought the final death of Maxwell Rayner might have sufficiently derailed them? Yes, that was my hope too, but alas it would seem not." BASIRA: "Maxwell… You. You called in that tip, sent us out to their warehouse." ELIAS: "And now I’m sending you out again." This for example. In combination with his "I can't see inside the Dark so I don't know if they've already been stopped so you have to go and look for yourselves" is quite a good excuse. I wonder if Elias hoped he could have somehow marked Jon with the Dark back then already, like with Melanie in MAG 102.
