Kitty Being Constructed.
#nunodoll terry cat..... not made of terry LOL im using some linen weave from an old busted t shirt rn#mostly as a mockup to learn how to do this thang. but im liking my lumpy cat#out of terry it'd be a lot more forgiving because of the pile. altho im glad i did a mockup because im learning a lot#1) i forgot to press the middle seams in the head before sewing the back and front together and i shoulda LOL#2) the original pattern probably either stuffs the tail before sewing it in and forgot to mention OR uses the terry pile as a faux stuffing#i just stuffed it since i had no pile LOL and 3) mayhaps runo was using a knit terry?#most toweling i find is woven but theres some things in the pattern that are really tricky without a TINY bit of give#like not a lot of stretch but like a liiiiittle bit. it looks like theyre using a weave but its so low resolution so i dunno <3#maybe even a weave with a little more give? because the inner ears and legs are smaller intentionally#but its a little tricky to do with this linen kjfsdhjlkfsdfd i also shoulda uses a lighter pen to trace it and also probably lighter thread#cause red thread behind slightly translucent blue makes those seams a little muddy. my laziness in never switching out bobbin threads has#finally caught up to me HGKJDSKFDSJHdsa but its fun! i gotta finish up adding seams and a face to the head and then sew da head on#(thats what the blue thread it for. i remembered to at least use it for the finishing touches LOL)#and then i shall have a silly lumpy kitty. hee hee

Ugly and unfinished bc painting takes fucking forever and i got bored but the sketchbook does handle gouache well yaaay
#I PROMISE I DIDNT WHITEWASH HIM i suck at mixing but not that bad. my fone makes him look way lighter#gouache is so tricky ill try not to be stingy and mix a lot of a color then even tho i spray it often it dries so quickly#and then like its too watery but as soon as i go back and spread more paint on my ceramic dish its too thick#to spread. and then i add 1 drop of water and its too watery again#finally i rly dont know how you're supposed to get nice adequate flat coverage and also like...remember where all the features you drew go#LOL since the paint is matte and opaque and it covers everythinggggg#but i love the look of it...alas#a doodley#oh that one cat was also drawn from ref pic of that new baby kitty of that one popular user#the pangur one...pangurr? pangur?#also im painting talon in a louis amc iwtv fit bc i thot it wld look cute on himmmm <3

Didn’t Rebecca Sugar say not long ago that if we talk about Steven Universe a bunch online that the right people need to see it to know we want more of the series?
If there ever was a way to get a marketing campaign going for a revival without giving away world and character lore that Rebecca is saving for a revival, this would be the way! These "leaks" are absolutely getting folks talking about the series a bunch!

#I have already had to rewrite a scene several times and its still not up to standard aaaaaaaa#my issue is trying to make Kokichi easy to understand whilst also making everything he says a lie#theres that fine balance of making him lie but also not making him confusing#sometimes I'll reread a scene and be like??? I have no clue what Kokichi is saying lol#my biggest battle is I keep telling myself I need to keep everyone in character#but then remembering everyone acts out of character with despair disease#aaggghhhh#anyone who has written a despair disease fic before deserved a medal they are tricky to write haha

Something we liked about mouthwashing is that it had characters which fit into the “ostracized by society” group but made it very clear these people were much different from the actual perpetrator. It’s too often “social fuck-ups” are lumped together, giving true abusers a place to hide. Pointing that shit out as what it is and that it’s very much NOT the same as, say, being an alcoholic, meant a lot to us. One is a place somebody lands in, the other is an act the person in question has full control over.
#really our only criticism of the game was how little we saw of anya but at the same time we also respect the games handling of her yknow#her attitude and whatnot felt completely normal for a victim and her distant nature added to her disconnection from the abuser#it’s tricky these situations where we don’t get enough of the victim but we can’t help but feel a little forgiving too#because coming from a victim pov it’s hard to see your experience picked apart for an audience#this and. the game felt incredibly violent towards the abuser which we felt pushed Anya’s feelings pretty well#we find art seems to associate curly with the forcing responsibility upon the abuser but truthfully#especially given Curly’s push over nature.#that want for the abuser to take responsibility felt much more like the voice of anya and eventually swansea too#we think Anya’s upset and anger can be felt at every moment#we think often media around the abuser has a tendency to make you sympathize#and also sideline the victim in the process#but here it didn’t feel like that nd that’s why we feel a bit different yknow#it felt anya was hidden out of respect . withdrawn from the viewer because that’s how she’s been made to feel#and in regard to you playing as the abuser. there was never once a moment we were made to feel bad for him . even when his past struggles#are brought up. it’s all complete malice down to the core#and we liked how mad the game - anya - everyone - felt#we appreciate when media feels like its creator is shouting their own feelings at you#nonetheless we wish so bad we could’ve seen more anya . she was so sweet#we think if you come out of this game fixating on Jimmy and curly you’re stupid lol#writing

Looking forward to the i and ii remaster because i never played dragon quest but i'd like to
Its going to be a really interesting way to play those game, so I hope you enjoy them!
As much as I love the NES versions of both of those, I really can’t in good conscience recommend them to anyone for their first playthroughs of those games. The SFC and mobile versions of those games are worth checking out if the wait for DQ1+2HD-2D is too long because they make the games significantly less grindy! And while the GBC versions are the SFC versions on weaker hardware, I think they have an incredibly cute style.
Also, while I would usually recommend someone play through 1, 2, and 3 in order, Yuji Horii himself said he wants people to experience them in the order of 3, then 1, then 2 and that you’ll unlock special stuff in the other games if you play them in that order. And DQ3HD-2D is coming out soon, so there’s no better time to start your DQ journey!
#other good starting points could be dq4 or 5#i tend to recommend those to new dragon quest fans because they’re two of my favorites#7 is also one of my big favorites but it’s really hard to recommend to new fans because of the long intro and massive size of the game#also the vocation system is a little tricky to understand if you don’t look up a guide#especially because of hybrid skills (only in the ps1 version)#the 3ds version does make the intro shorter and does make the vocation system significantly easier to understand#without sacrificing its customizability#i could go on forever about the different strengths and weaknesses of each game lol

something kinda funny about peter lukas is that his loneliness screws him over so badly repeatedly like he had a really sheltered upbringing he hasnt and doesnt want to understand other humans so when hes dealing with for example jon u can just tell because hes failing so bad at convincing him to stay in the lonely but he is trying and it just… isnt working not to mention he gives up so easily

and you know it is interesting seeing the way different english speaking communities surrounding media marketed towards women and girls will talk about romance
most otome gamers (and i think joseimuke a bit too?) will talk about the MC (main character) and their various LIs (love interests), shoujosei readers who've been in the scene a long time use similar terminology
capital R Romance capital N Novel fans (like think pulpy books with shirtless men on the cover u see in the corner of the dollar store) have a BUNCH of different standards like i used to see H and h (hero and heroine respectively) and nowadays i mostly see MMC and FMC (male main character and female main character) for straight romances and sometimes for gay ones we get like fmc1 and fmc2 type situation, its rare but ive also seen the occasional nbmc here and there
ive been noticing with like korean webnovels and manhwa marketed towards women, the terms FL (female lead) and ML (male lead) are everywhere, sometimes i see second male lead too? i dont know how that would be abbreviated tho....
the japanese live action drama adaptations of shoujosei manga also use the same FL ML style terms, which is interesting compared to the source manga communities who usually use the MC LI terminology instead. watching tv shows is hard for me so i dont know but maybe drama fans use FL ML in general
and speaking of leads, older writing about north american romcom movies used "leading man" and "leading lady" all the time. sometimes you'll also hear me specifically use it to talk about romance media to someone who is not interested in romance media LOL im using language that most laymen understand please have patience with me
but it is my favourite thing when i see one groups terms in another group, like when i see someone say FL in an oldschool shoujo discussion board. hee hee i know u came from the drama adaptations and i love you for it!!! we use different words but we're all here for the love of the game (the game is sparkly stories about fictional characters kissing)
#and slightly out of scope of romantic media marketed towards women and girls#(actually romcoms are also not really that either. whether not they succeed is another question but romcoms are more marketed towards)#(general audiences ive noticed. like at least pre 2009 ones do) (i have not seen a more recent romcom LOL it may be different now)#and into the scope of romantic media marketed towards men: galge often use the terms Hero or MC for the main character#MC is more common now (especially since some galge will have like two MCs and one might be female) and the love interests are usually calle#'heriones' ive noticed. which i think is what vndbs tagging system is based off of - that style of terminology#which sometimes gets tricky otome games and yuri and bl games. but theres other tags to help with that#also can you tell which world i hail from. its romance vns and shoujosei manga LOL thats why i keep saying MC and LI
