Bakugo x reader // fluff, established relationship

When Dynamight is a top ranked Pro Hero, people will naturally pay attention to him. He's good at what does, makes little to no mistakes on the field, albeit his fiery attitude. Also, he's hot. People can see he mellowed out, but he's still bite and bark (when it matters).

Literally everytime he's on the news, he'll be trending. Stopping a simple robbery despite not being the only pro hero present? News. Villain capture? Yep. Even more so if the villain gives him a particularly rough time and his hero costume is in tatters, and it shows more of his glistening muscles. Helping an old person cross the street? Has people gagging at his gentle action despite him telling off the senior citizen to not waste his time by going out alone and endangering themselves. Dynamight cups the old person's elbow and walks slowly while glaring at the cars to stop (the old person finds him endearing and thanks him anyway, seeing right thru him just like the whole internet).

The number one, failproof, low-effort way to get him to be the talk of the WEEK is just whenever it involves you.

People see you patrolling together, Dynamight pacing slightly behind you but still close enough. Whenever you get stopped by some fans, you entertain them and Bakugo acts like your bodyguard. He'd be standing right behind you and watch, also serving as a human barricade to block people off to prevent bumping into you. Sometimes he'd fiddle with your costume's accessories, fixing it a little if it looks out of place. People always manage to capture it on video and upload it online, and they eat it up everytime.

He'll be trending when his fellow Pro Hero friends post on their stories during their get togethers. There's this one particular story that went peak viral. Ochaco had been filming everyone and managed to take a video of the moment where a picture was being taken. He looked grumpy at first but then you scooched closer to him, his face immediately relaxes and only looks at you while you pose for the pic. Seeing the video trend, Mina, the one who took the group selfie, posted the resulting pic that night. Lo' and behold, Bakugo looking at you with a softened expression as you pose for the pic, your hand in a peace sign while a drink in the other as you lean onto Bakugo while his hand was visibly resting on your hip. The internet went wild.

The comments on Mina's post were mostly about him and you. And Bakugo adds fuel to the fire, liking every comment about how beautiful you are. People tweeting screenshots of their notifications that says Dynamight's official account liked their comments.

Bakugo doesnt really care for being viral all the time, so he wouldnt know. Its only when his friends tell him about the things people say that he knows, and when you tell him.

the clock kept ticking, driving you mad.

on the one hand whenever there's shitty moments or nothing happening at all, time won't pass - it stretches like gum. on the other hand, the good moments pass way too quickly. time itself is pacing, always.

right now time won't pass though.

you've been alone at matty’s concrete bunker of a home for a month already now. the longer you spend your time here, the more you realize that it's actually quite cozy somehow. everything in itself seems cold and harsh but together it creates some sort of comfortable, relaxing and balanced atmosphere.

but without matty it's once again cold and harsh. it's like the whole house loses its charm when he's not here.

the bed is colder than usual, everything is quiet - no music playing from his vinyl player, no typing on the typewriter, no jamming on his guitar, nothing - there's no smell of pancakes in the kitchen, the bathroom doesn't smell like his perfume and there is no mess. you're surprised that a thing that usually pisses you off has now become something you miss.

so here you are, on his couch, cuddling with a pillow while the TV is on in the background. there's some sort of reality tv show on but you didn't pay attention to it, you just need noise, the feeling of not being alone.

matty is currently on tour in north america. with you having to stay in london, seeing him is nearly impossible. only nearly though, but seeing him on facetime or hearing his voice on a simple call is surprisingly very hard as well.

on his days off it's easier. he's more flexible with his time management when there is no huge concert at night with the sound checks and everything beforehand.

he's currently in new york, playing one of their biggest shows ever tonight. he's excited, you know that. he has been excited for months now, basically ever since he found out that they could play there.

but right now the bed is cold - ice cold - and the cool concrete walls don't make it any better. you love this place but it's not the same without him.

you calculate in your mind. he's in new york, you're in london so the concert must be over by now. thus the waiting continues.

you look back to the tv. the reality tv show is over and now there's some sitcom playing. it's friends! finally, something funny to help you pass time.

a few minutes pass and your phone lights up. 3:31am.

“hey, you awake?”

you instantly grab your phone.

he quickly answers and asks:

finally you decide to turn off the TV and let silence and darkness take over the room. you take the cushion you've been lying on and holding and make your way up to the bedroom.

instantly, you miss matty. he's a living heater - and a comfortable one to say the least.

so when you lay back down, you lay on the cushion as if you were lying on matty's chest. if you squeeze your eyes shut, just enough, then you can almost hear his heartbeat. or maybe it's just your lack of sleep, who knows.

the tiredness comes creeping in, a yawn escapes your lips. in the same moment your phone lights up.

a facetime call by no other than matty.

happily you pick up.

“good morning, sunshine” an exhausted smile on his lips. he's happy to see you but the weariness from performing is evident.

his hair is damp, he probably just came out of the shower.

he's in bed as well, the bedside table lamp illuminating his face with a warm light from the side, throwing soft shadows on his face.

“good night” you tiredly greet him, a smile adorning your face when you see him.

“how was the concert?”

“oh it was great!” he started to ramble about the crowd, how the band harmonized, how the security and the whole team was great and how everything was perfect.

his soft voice and his endless talking could send you to sleep right then and there-

“hey! no sleeping yet! tell me about your day… or night.”

“uh, i didn't do anything special. i just laid around and was on my phone, i watched some TV and laid on this cushion because you're not there.” you point at the cushion that you're currently lying on.

matty seems to recognize the way you're lying on the cushion.

“wait, wait, wait, are you pretending that cushion is me?”

“maybe, i did. but then i had to realize it's a better cuddler than you are.” you tease him.

he laughs at that. “you're just saying that because you already forgot how good i am.”

a loud yawn leaves your mouth.

“is someone getting tired?” he chuckles and grins. you're so cute when you're tired.

“what do you expect? it's late.”

“get some sleep, sleepyhead.”

“can you stay on the phone with me?”

his grin grows even wider, he could melt at your cuteness.

“of course i will.”

a short moment of silence.

“so, what do you want me to do?”

“i don't know, just talk. tell me a story or something.”

and that's what he does. he knows you know all the stories, he loves talking - you love listening. he talks and talks, his voice almost as soft as the cushion you're resting on, slowly lulling you to sleep.

Wow, I agonized over this post way too long. Here it is, finally. I was gonna make this a reblog but i think since it's referencing multiple posts (and boy it got super long and added a related theory) this is better on its own. This is furthering @gin-juice-tonic's analysis of the tBoB journal pages. Heavy tBoB spoilers, and warning for the darker content it has. (some swearing too) I'm convinced now they're a warped version of events and downright fake for some, however, I believe many are real.

...But did Ford remember them? "I can delete memories randomly, just for fun. Maybe I already have." I do NOT think Bill could erase everything. He probably can only erase small/recent sections. But this is a big part of my theory.

But first, Gin's points. (using some of your pics for this Gin, hope you dont mind) I'm not going to post every journal page, but I'll give a ref for ones that seem important.

Okay, this is the post that actually convinced me (went through the links from tapas, the first is sure suspicious, but the second has pretty compelling evidence.) Ford referred to Fiddleford as F through the whole of journal 3 (aside from in code), and Bill as his Muse until the reveal, he wouldn't suddenly change the way he refers to people, even if he planned to rip out the pages, in which case, why would you write them in the first place?

On the first link (this one), this appears to be an embellished story. When you look at it from bill's perspective, he's reminiscing. He lies to himself. He's making it seem like Ford and Bill hit it off immediately, and while in a way, they did, it probably wasn't like this. I'll buy Ford used Cipher's line back at him, but the jovial way they banter is just so Bill. Ford would emphasize how he felt, the mysteries he was thinking about, his reverence for his Muse. He probably wouldn't recount it line for line when he was so secretive in journal 3. Bill makes it seem like they were more like equals, when in reality he likely relished the devotion and divine status Ford attributed to him. Also, "Cipher Speaks" is in Bill's handwriting from the sticky notes. could be coincidence? I think not. 'Ford' also describes it as the "GREATEST. DAY. OF MY LIFE." This mirrors bill's earlier statements about the reader's life being forever changed after meeting bill. According to Bill, meeting him is the highest moment of anyone's life, right?

In an additional post, Gin explains how Bill didn't tell Ford he was from another dimension. Ford had to find that out at the betrayal. So, all this taken, those two pages at least are fake.

For the third link, this one, while from Doylist perspective, Alex wanted the book to have fun little callbacks, from Watsonian, Bill simply can't help himself. Bill loves trying to be funny. He's trying to keep the reader hooked, and keeping the story interesting through callbacks is one way to do that. Some of these are Bill, some are self-referential because Bill's talking about real events from the past. (rats, cipherite suit, Small World cassette, we'll get to those later)

Bill has a habit of telling the truth through his lies. What I mean by that is, if he is repeating himself through actions or words, it's probably because there's some truth to it. If he's contradicting himself, there's something he's hiding. He'll claim he has no weaknesses, but later admit he does. He'll say he has no exes, only to reference exes later. So, we can glean truths from the lies he's telling in the pages.

I think Alex is a good enough writer to keep Ford and his writing (mostly) in character. He's made retcons/continuity errors before, but he knows the fandom will pick apart everything and find them, and will have a reason for it. There's definitely some fake pages, which begs the question, which are real?

One detail I want to point out is the vignette/burn marks on the edges of some of the pages. My secondary theory is about these. (And no, it doesn't indicate they were fake.) I'll explain later.

Assumptions/disclaimers: The pages we're shown are roughly chronological, though skip forward where surviving J3 pages would go. Pages aren't realistically double-sided like they would be in J3, these are inserted into tBoB magically. I don't have a blacklight version of J3, so I'm probably missing a little bit of context there. References J3 quite a few times, so this post works best if you are able to reference both books. I can go into detail and post more pictures for any sections that aren't clear.

First off, 'Lost in the woods'. This one I believe is real, because Ford's (author's cipher) codes are in it. This code is consistently used in the book whenever Ford inserts a page, even on the moth. For Bill to use this code would break the established pattern Alex has made. However, I agree with Gin that Bill intentionally placed this page to establish Ford as lonely, and thus make Bill look better for befriending him in contrast. I don't think it's that odd for Ford to talk about his social awkwardness, he talks about his childhood bullying pretty frankly, specifically on a page meant to be an author's About Me. However, he did rip this one out, so I think he was trying to ignore his feelings by hiding this page. No vignette.

'Cipher speaks', as we've discussed, is likely a fake/altered meeting. Vignettes on both pages. On the second page you can see where it looks burnt in one corner, and there's even tear marks like there's a page missing there, perhaps their real first meeting. It's also strange for Ford to draw himself like that.

'My Muse & Me'- Ford refers to Bill as his Muse again. Despite my doubts (I went back and forth on this one), I think this one has to be real. We find on the website computer (code: Fordtramarine) that Ford tried to submit a paper on fordtramarine. In that paper he refers to an 'extradimensional entity' and 'two-dimensional'. He shouldn't know that Bill is interdimensional at this point, so Ford must mean 'outside of physical reality', as in, the astral plane. Though, there's a painting of 'a muse' in the paper. Wasn't Bill supposed to be secret? Perhaps he thought he could get away with that small reference? Perhaps this paper was submitted more recently? I don't like the idea that things from the website are also fake, since it would be strange for Bill to have such narrative control there. The website seems to reveal things Bill can't control, even if Bill is talking. This page also establishes more timeline. This is saying that not only could Bill freely move in and out of Ford's mind within a year, he had full access to alter it as well, ahead of their deal before the test. This page is probably to make it seem appealing to let Bill into your mind. It also serves a purpose of showing us Ford had let Bill fully into his mind at this point in the story Bill's weaving. I am curious why would Ford hide this only to submit a paper on it, just to keep his Muse secret? And those damn red triangles, did Bill draw those, implying he could possess Ford before their deal? No burns/vignette. The neighboring pages both have it, why not this one?

June 15th- There is direct dialogue from Bill quoted, however, he refers to Bill as his Muse. Wouldn't Ford be creeped the hell out by the rat thing, and be alarmed that Bill possessed things just to kill them? I think this page was real, but was ripped out by Bill. Heavy vignette.

At this point I should explain: I think the burn/vignette represents Bill 'burning away' memories/altering them. Ford's memories, but possibly even the reader's. I want to be clear; I don't mean Bill erased the entire memory of the page, I mean Bill erased at least some part of those events. When it's heavy around the edges, heavier manipulation. It also could indicate which ones Bill burned/destroyed. More evidence for this later.

Karaoke page- How did Bill convince Ford to drink with him after the rat thing? Bill made him forget it was Bill. "The rats were his idea?" Yeah, he told you that right away, why did he need to tell you again? While probable this happened, the writing from Ford is sus. "This Bill guy, he's really got it all figured out"? Sounds a bit like Bill talking. The drawing is strangely detailed, too. 'Dancing queen' (disco girl's parody origin) was released in '76, so that lines up time wise, at least. Likely altered/created to make Bill seem friendlier. Either could have destroyed this one if there was a real version. Vignette.

A Voice from the Past spread- He says 'my Muse', but then mentions Bill by name, which indicates it's altered. Is the first bit real, then? Why would Ford rip out this important page revealing his muse's origin and past? His curiosity would overtake wanting to keep it secret, surely? And conversely, why would Bill fabricate it? To make himself seem more sympathetic? However, there is another explanation. There is the possibility Bill erased the memories of this conversation and it really happened in some form. Bill probably realized after revealing this information to Ford it could ruin his plans. Some vignette at the top, mostly on the right page. In that is a drawing of space and a code. The code says 'forget the past." Coincidence, or purposeful on a page for a conversation Bill made Ford forget? Bill could have ripped out the pages (if they existed) himself. It's also important to note Bill is trying to isolate Ford here, which is another reason he'd hide the pages/alter memories of talking about Stanley. Also, if Bill erased the phone number from Ford's mind later, it would make sense why Ford had to send a postcard.

A Winter Break/The Krampus adventure. Where would these pages have gone if they were real? It was January for the test, so it was before the deal, but after the bunker? Gin mentioned it feeling 'off' and strange because it's just Krampus, nothing weird or Gravity Falls-y about it, and I agree. And also, Fidds knocking it out feels... weird. I think that story is fabricated with some real details thrown in. Fidds is noticeably shaken up after, but otherwise the whole story seemed almost whimsical, and just...weird, and not in the GF way. It's fake. Ford goes back inside after looking outside in Time Traveler's Pig. He doesn't come outside onto the porch at all. You could say he comes back out after that, maybe. You could say it's a retcon. But we know the children's footprints were Dipper and Mabel, not random kidnapped kids. (Bill likely wouldn't expect the reader to know this.) My eyes are also drawn to the green and red rectangles. The festive theming bring to mind a Christmas special, and how often are those only partly canon? So, then what's real about it? I believe the gloves, and possibly the snow globe was real, since they come up again later. I believe if there was a monster, Ford (or bill possessing ford 'then-DARKNESS') fought it off, traumatizing Fidds even more. Something made Fidds shaken up. Fidds and Ford probably spent Christmas together. And Bill did warn Ford about Fidds' second thoughts (mentioned in J3). Did Fiddleford notice Ford forgetting things? Did he assume Ford was simply unshaken by what happened? For me what seals the deal is the heavy vignette around those pages. Bill altered his memories of what happened and is telling us this story instead, probably to make it seem not as bad, so Ford wouldn't be so angry that Bill wasn't there/realize that he possessed Ford. I'm also suspicious of the "Trust No One." at the end. Did this phrase really come from Bill? Wouldn't Bill be saying 'Trust me'? To be honest, it's possible the last page here was half a real conversation, but the way Ford suddenly changes his tune is strange AF and I suspect shenanigans for it. And the things Bill says are very different from 'F is not bold enough to follow through.' (J3 code, An Encounter) Also, most of these pages seem to have no reason to be ripped out, aside from mentioning Stan by name/drawing them, but he could have crossed that out, and the last page which Ford would have hidden from Fidds. If they were real in some form, Bill probably destroyed them to hide the truth.

Stanley memories pages- Real, not much to say about those. Goes after Bill's warning. Probably legitimately torn out by Ford since he'd want to keep these pictures before hiding J3. Though I do notice they are covering up a lot of red triangles, perhaps also drawn by Bill. No vignette.

Dream, or warning?- Before Jan. 17th. Real, since I can't see why Bill would make up a warning about himself. He wants the reader to trust him. The heavy vignette, again, indicates he made Ford forget about it and destroyed the pages before he could solve it, which would probably be easy since it was a dream. The laughter+fire at the end indicates Bill discovered them. Just a fun side note: the song referenced is 'Im your puppet'

"I was wrong about everything" spread- I think goes in the gap where the black scribbled out pages are in J3. Again, the Author's cipher is here, indicating these are real. Vignette again. Bill's possessing Ford a lot, trying to erase the idea of fighting back from his mind(unsuccessfully), likely also hiding these pages. More red triangles.

Bill-proof suit- Goes after The Blind Eye- references being banned from the library, Blind eye mentions still researching Bill. J3 said he discovered the chant to enter someone's mind by researching Bill, so he could also find the anti-cipher society and the cassette. Real. Bill likely destroyed these pages and the previous ones to try and slow down Ford and erase his plans to destroy Bill. Vignette.

Zom-bills to Looky Here: After 'Ways to hide', as Zom-bills is written in invisible ink, but before the truck stop. (This would require Ford to have written on the right page first, then Bill tore the rest of these out, but not a huge stretch) Bill is fucking with Ford hard. He's probably taking his anger out on Ford while simultaneously trying to bully and manipulate him like he would do to his henchmaniacs, as he says later. Vignette on most of these- he's constantly possessing Ford and making him black out, trying to manipulate his memory to make him compliant/torture him. Bill likely destroyed the cassette+the memory of it so it couldn't be used against him, as Ford presumably never gets the chance to. Why he's showing the reader this? He thinks it's funny. He could also be hoping to scare the reader, if the reader knows what he's capable of, they'll be more afraid, and fear and love are the same, right? Notably the sticky note page is only a little darkened, probably because Bill genuinely was trying to talk at first. I can't find any evidence that these are fake, but there's no codes indicating they're real either. I think they were real, but Bill destroyed at least some of them.

(Side note: Computer code: Oroborous. Curiously uses Bill's cipher, bill writes in J3 too. These pages are also vignetted. Bill wouldn't like Ford knowing he showed fear. He also purposefully didn't give the reader these 'missing pages', because he hates them and doesn't want to reveal his fear.)

Polaroids- Did Ford destroy this himself like the VHS? Trying to avoid being blamed for things Bill did? Just ashamed/horrified? Curiously, no vignette on the polaroids (this could be just to have the full page visible), or Bill wanted Ford to remember these to have the threat sink in fully. Probably actually happened, Bill doesn't really have a reason to fake these pages as they make him look worse/scarier.

Blackness/'No' pages: This is largely where my theory that vignette=memory manipulation makes the most sense, The darkness overtaking the page represents bill's influence and control, and stops resembling the journal pages much (though it could be invisible ink again). He can mess with Ford's mind as much as he likes. If these pages were ever real, Bill could have destroyed them himself too. Bill's pretty much telling the story here.

Fidds page, S page- Gin made another excellent post pointing out the problems with these. They're a bit redundant when compared to J3, aren't they? And in oddly specific ways. The use of the brother code indicates they're real, though. If Bill erased Ford's memories of these pages, him basically re-writing them makes sense, and also Ford going from 'the caves hold the answer' to 'the caves might hold the answers', the snow going from 'begun to fall' to 'has fallen', and going 'fidds wont speak to me'! instead of 'my assistant has clearly left me'. In some way Ford has probably retained a bit of his plans, but its not a stretch to say he'd loop his train of thought after losing memories. The "I grow maddened" at the edge is very shaky and blurry, which could reflect the shaky and blurry memory.

I also notice (this has probably been pointed out before) now in J3 that only once outside of Gravity Falls (route 14) can Ford plan clearly. Perhaps Cipher's influence is weaker outside the town? It makes sense. if Ford sent the postcard and made his plan while free(ish) of Bill's meddling, that's why Bill couldn't just erase his memory of his plan again.

So...yeah! Some are definitely fake. Some are placed or altered intentionally to serve a narrative. Bill could be manipulating the reader's and ford's memory to have never seen these pages. Some of these memories could have been simply warped, or erased later- not right away. I'll be honest I don't love the implication that Bill can just manipulate Ford's memories freely, so I'm sure there are significant limitations to it. Bill has to stall for the whole book and give away a lot of secrets in order to change the reader's brain enough for him to be satisfied, and even then it's not enough to make the reader give in. Bill's abilities are much less than he purports. He also says that the person can notice his 'tune-ups', so there is only so much he could alter someone's brain before they notice. However, if he's been messing with Ford's head this long, he'd have a big advantage. Is the explanation that Bill erased Ford's memory a little lazy? ...Yeah? But it also kind of heightens how badly Ford was being manipulated and why he got so paranoid and unhinged there. It lets a lot of these puzzle pieces fit together that wouldn't otherwise.

My vignette theory isn't super strong, I'll admit, but I think it definitely indicates something, given some pages don't have it when they could have. They could also simply indicate those pages were burned, though it being on the fake pages makes less sense then. Bill having destroyed the pages himself makes sense for a lot of the pages, but I cant rule out the possibility Ford did destroy some of them out of frustration/shame.

Something I also realized while going through J3 again is how many 'doodles' in J3 involve red triangles. (you can see an example on Frilliam's page) The triangles I assumed were Ford's obsession with Bill, but what if they were Bill's obsession? For another post perhaps.

So I'm on the NHS for my surgery and I personally had a fucking Saga of admin issues on my way which I don't yet have it all behind me enough to speak on at length, but what's most relevant here is that on the NHS you can't pick your surgeon, just your location/team. I ended up with Chelsea and Westminster, who are a pretty new pathway for gender affirmation surgery, even if some of the surgeons have been in the field for a While now.

The team is led by Victoria Rose, who I also had for my consultation - she also worked previously and I believe still does work with the NHS Manchester pathway. Her results, as I've seen from other people, are really good; I personally had a really difficult time with her at my consultation, but ymmv, I know other folk have got on great with her so maybe it was just me or she was just having an off day. Either way, I know she's a great surgeon, makes sense for her to be the team lead.

When I got my admission paperwork for surgery, it said I'd be with Giuseppe di Taranto. I hadn't seen much of his work online before the surgery - looking him up I found he works partly in the NHS and partly in the private sphere, the latter of which he has an instagram for showing some of his work.

On the actual day of my surgery, what happened was a sort of boy band in scrubs arrived in my room??? Honestly idk, I got 3 hot men who all said they'd be my surgery team and I genuinely couldn't tell you whether he was any of them I have handsome guy faceblindness (and also regular faceblindness). I'd been fasting for 14hrs, had 3hrs sleep, and was the most anxious I've ever been, not my greatest state for remembering details.

At discharge, ~5hrs post surgery: I had to wear that post op binder 24/7 for the first week, no drains even though di Taranto apparently usually uses them? Unsure why but grateful not to have needed them

There was padding over the surgery site which we assumed was gauze but my partner discovered upon helping me wash with baby wipes was essentially just a huge strip of kitchen sponge which, hilarious

1 week post op, first dressings change: elated. Incisions almost completely closed, minimal bleeding or oozing, zero sign of infection. Right nipple graft doing perfectly, left nipple graft looking mostly okay but a little more fluid and scabbing. Redressed whole site and kept compression vest on, can now take it off for half an hour daily to wash, avoiding getting dressings wet - this will be the case til 4-6 weeks post op

2 weeks post op: incisions pretty much completely shut and frankly astonishingly neat so far, no signs of infection, just still fragile. Some swelling, particularly on left side, but not enough to cause concern - it's very very common after a mastectomy and usually mild swelling resolves on its own after a couple months, especially with the compression top and with gentle heat applied like a hot water bottle or something for 20 minutes a day. We're keeping an eye on it. Grafts still looking both good, right slightly neater than left. Discolouration near grafts in these pics is because the dressings we're using are soaked in iodine which disinfects but can stain the skin, it'll come off eventually in the shower.

Current plan is the grafts should be kept completely dressed for 6 weeks, redressed weekly, and I'll still wear the compression top for 6 weeks. Incisions are now down to just steri strip dressings until 4 weeks, at which point we can hopefully move to scar care - I have a 4wk follow up remote appointment with the Chelsea Westminster team to discuss then

how do you know when a piece like your groudon is finally “done”, or done Enough?

i dont have an answer for this but maybe when i just type a lot i will find one.

for the groudon pic specifically i had a mental image in my head of what scene i wanted. when i started rendering the lava, i did it really detailed and decided i couldnt leave the rest of it simpler and then when the lava was all like that i had to crank everything else in the picture up too. and that made everything take so long that it was far beyond the boundaries of it being "not enough" . it was pleny enough!! so from hour 30-52 i was pretty eager to get it over with. just everything up to the point where its uniform in rendering. sometimes thats a bad sentiment to work on a pic with, but this time it was ok. i kind of like arduous menial tasks. it makes me more patient. so for that one it was done once everything was on par with my detail standard i set for myself halfway thru.

i think i used to have more trouble with this, deciding when its done... my pice now always either end when they reach what i had planned or when theyre the type of pic without a plan then when i get bored / lose the flow of it. actually prior to the groudon pic even some planned ones stopped at a flowloss point.

these two picy both have immaculate rendering on parts but then i lost it and finishdd the rest of the pic with less vigor. in tve green comet one its all the surroundings. i had other versions for that and kept reworking and reworking but i was so ouf of power i just used a slightly polisjed up sketch, kind of works for the pic though. the eel one i also lost power at the backhground, beyond the water. the mountains and clouds i think i coulda put more effort in. but its ok cuz its like 0% the focus of the picture, just sometjing that bothers me alone. hey both of these pics are about a serpent type thing coiling down to earth gently from the sky oops. back to the question um ya im looking at my images and all of them either end when they reach what i had in my head or when i loose flow. when i used to do lsd more my process was that the picture ends when i go to bed. i want to do that again soon it was fun. i drew for like 6 hours while kind of crazy then for the next 12 hours in warm afterglow i just clean and render everything so sweetly and then with a body as hard as a hundred bodies i sink into my bed and click post on it which codifies it as completed. also towards tve end of the picture is usually when im stressing about tiny details and i will message like 1-2 consistent people and 1-2 random people from my discord friendslist to ask about opinions about which tiny detail looks better for the whole pic. when im at that point i cant think straight no more so well no more so i kind of know its time to stop soon. but those final feedbacks always help. ok i guess thats an answer lol i made it very long i will put a readmore. hope u dont mind reading but i think if i sent someone an anon the longer the reply the happier i would be. probably. im in bed but im gonna get up again in a sec and play some balatroooo, 2 people bought a groudon print so far and i spent that money on balatro eep hihi thank u for the ask which i twisted into my babbleplateau

how does the capture styler thing work? Is it just like a pokeball??

Oh boy. Okay, I’m not a like, tech person but I will do my best to explain. Long post ahead.

So for my followers who don’t know, some rangers operate with a capture styler to help them recruit wild pokemon on their missions, as opposed to working with a standard team of pokemon of their own. The styler has two parts, the base styler itself (pic below) and the capture disk, which looks kinda like a spinning top. The capture disk is launched from the styler and then basically remote controlled. You can control the disk to wrap wild pokemon up by leading the disk in circles around it, and once you’ve drawn enough circles the pokemon can be successfully ‘captured’. If the pokemon attacks the disk or the line that is being drawn around it, the damage will eventually cause the disk to disconnect from the styler. If that happens you have to either grab a back up disk or find a different way to solve whatever problem you’re having.

It’s pretty different from capturing a pokemon in a pokeball for a bunch of reasons. A pokemon captured with a styler is still considered a wild pokemon for all intents and purposes. Capturing will briefly calm a wild pokemon, and help establish some communication between the wild pokemon and the ranger. This is mostly just because in addition to the calming effect, the pokemon will also generally stay focused on the ranger and view them as a friend. Capturing doesn’t magically enable us to speak to wild pokemon in the same language as them (sadly), but it does establish enough of a bond that we can get them to help put out a fire, or move a fallen tree, or just hold still while we treat an injury. Stuff like that.

Capturing is also pretty temporary. Eventually that wild pokemon will get bored of hanging out with you, and will likely wander off to continue its wild pokemon life. Once it gets far enough away the effects of the capture will disappear. Most rangers are also not allowed to lead wild pokemon outside of their natural habitat, for I think obvious reasons. The sylers will track where a pokemon is captured and send an alert when you get too far away from their home, warning you that the pokemon will be released automatically if you go much further. This feature doesn’t apply to Top Rangers, but that’s a different conversation.

Partner pokemon, the one that stays by the ranger’s side the whole time, can also assist in captures by providing ‘poke-assists’. This will affect the behaviour of the capture disk in different ways depending on the type of pokemon providing the assist. Michael, my mightyena, can help lengthen the range of the capture disk to make capturing larger wild pokemon way easier.

Lastly, capturing also does a pretty thorough scan of the pokemon. Once a pokemon is captured we can see if it’s hurt, how old it is, and any previous trainers who might have caught it in a pokeball (that data stays tied to the pokemon forever, even after release). That last one is super helpful for determining if a trainer released a pokemon into a habitat it doesn’t belong in, which can result in fines (which is a stupid punishment, but I digress) or suspension of league participation. The data from captured pokemon is recorded and stays with the ranger union database so that rangers and their home-base operators can monitor population levels and overall health of the pokemon in a given area. We also share that data with pokemon researchers when applicable.

Generally, rangers who are new to an area (i.e., they were trained and imported from out of the region), and field op rangers (who take on more specialized missions – that’s me!) are the only ones equipped with stylers. Sadly, not ever ranger can be equipped with one, as they are expensive and only produced in Almia. The idea is that rangers who are familiar with the area they are ranging in don’t need the added boost of being able to quickly bond with wild pokemon, as they should already have a pretty good grasp on the pokemon in that area. Rangers without stylers also tend to keep larger teams of pokemon with them in their pokeballs. Also, you have to complete special courses to use a capture styler (or just be friends with a chill ranger…shhh).

shrinky dink earring tutorial ^_^

finally posting this as @purplequay requested, sorry this took so long lol

ok so basically shrinky dinks aka shrink art are these sheets of plastic that can be heated so that they shrink and become thicker and more durable, you can buy them at craft stores like micheals tho i believe target has them as well. no clue if they can be found outside the usa tho :/

so first youd want to take whatever design you want and draw it on paper, then trace said design onto the shrinky dink sheet. you can technically just draw directly onto the shrinky dink but i prefer to do it on paper first cus its easier to erase

the plastic shrinks to abt 1/3 of its original size so make sure ur design is larger enough for whatever u wanna do

if you have the kind that has a rough side you can use pretty much any medium on it as far as i know. but if you have the kind thats smooth on both sides id recommend using some kind of alcohol-based ink like permanent marker or dry erase marker

also if youre using yours to make earrings or jewelry id recommend leaving some space at the top to punch a hole thru

after that you can go ahead and cut that thang out w/ scissors or what-have you. id recommend getting a hole punch to cut out any holes you might need but tbh you could just use a needle or something. BUT make sure that hole is big enough cus itll shrink after you heat it

ok i dont have any pics for the next step but you can just put ur dink on a flat surface like a cookie sheet and pop that thing in the oven at 325 F for like 3-5 min depending on the size

your dink might curl but dw itll flatten out while baking. if it doesnt you can quickly flatten it w/ a spatula or smth before it cools. unless you have the off-brand kind which cant bend after baking in my experience

then BOOM. you have two little bits of plastic you can use to make jewelry or charms or whatever your heart desires. im making earrings outta these two

id also recommend adding a layer of resin or mod podge dimensional magic (cheaper but less durable than resin) to help protect the dink and make it look more glassy

the whole process is pretty easy and i believe that most packs come with instructions but lmk if u need me to clarify anything 👍

These might be kinda hard to keep daily for a few reasons. First of which is that positivity is not my natural state entirely. Even though my mantra every second of every day is "it's fine", its more in a "none of dis matters" kind of way. But additionally, furthermore, I dont get to do a whole lot. I tend to see the sky around 4pm, and then I work in a building with no windows, and around midnight or 1am I get to see the night sky. So I may tag some of these 'slow day' and just post a pic with something short about whatever I'm playing

Today I was mostly just coasting off good vibes from sunday. There's a fine line between not saying enough and saying too much, and idk what that line looks like. But basically I don't make a lot of new friends, and I'm not in contact with many old friends regularly enough, so I've been making an effort to be more social. At the same time I like to be helpful to people. Lately I end up in these situations where I feel very useless and powerless because I have to rely on my partner financially more than I should. But I set out to help a friend recently and it seems like I'm helping, and that feels nice. It's weird how reclusive I am while also needing to make people happy. It's like I'm a people person I'm just extremely picky lol

I guess the idea behind my specific brand of nihilism is that yeah a lot of stuff in life is pointless or hopeless, but we might as well make it better for eachother, because we can. And sorta why I wanted to start this is because it's easy to never look up, and to forget that the world is bigger than your route to work. But it is bigger

1) what would their social media page/activity be like: almost none! it just doesn't seem like his kinda thing u know it goes against his old man energy... but he does use social media to talk to people and keep up with what the others r up to, he just doesn't post much! except for nature pics on instagram <- i think that's canon but don't quote me on it

2) what animal they remind me of: puffin is a boring answer so i'll say he gives off cat energy!! not in a catboy way, in the clingy-but-pretending-not-to-be way

3) my thoughts on their design/aesthetic alone: LOVE his design!! i think his outfit is unique and looks so nice (if u forget the shoes). i did kinda prefer him with the blue eyes he had innnn the movie was it?? but purple looks cool! ALSO ashy-haired iceland is the only iceland to me ok!! he and finland look too much alike in the newer seasons >:(

4) physical headcanons: i think he has a rlly good sleep schedule! like we're talking,, 10pm to 6am he's insane like that. i like to think of him as just slightly shorter than nor, and taller than finland! umm this isn't a headcanon it's canon but i feel like it's an unpopular opinion on tumblr :,) but he's 17 to me! he's also on the slender side. he never had to fight the way the other nordics did, so he's a bit twiggy

5) social headcanons: yes ok!! i covered his relationship w/ denmark in that ask so i won't talk about it again. i think it's so sweet how he looks up to sweden in canon, and while i don't think he grew up close enough to him to view him as a father figure, he's kind of a dad friend to him! ice definitely values social connections a lot, but he still struggles with making them, so he pretends not to. it's been better since the internet became a thing! but u have to think about what being a preteen growing up with ur only friends being your brothers does to someone :,) he's still not the best at socializing and making friends. ALSO NOT A HC BUT I LOVE THAT HE HATES ENGLAND ITS VERY FUNNY TO ME i hc he gets all >:/ when norway talks about hanging out with england like eugh. that guy?

6) psychological headcanons: like i said i think loneliness and self-isolation are def things he's struggled with. the other nordics help a lot but ! i think especially when he was growing up he felt insecure about physically growing so much slower than everyone around him, too. he & norway are also super interesting to me! i think his whole not wanting to call him big brother thing would be more than just him wanting to look grown up (but that too!), he feels awkward being emotionally vulnerable with norway, after growing up extremely close to him but then not hearing from him at all during his formative years (when denmark had to step in). they love each other all the same, but the awkwardness in their relationship is more than just him being immature! don't get me wrong they get along though and tease each other and talk on the phone about silly things and i adore them

7) ship(s) with them that I like or at least consider: aah i like hongice a lot !! i've literally only ever found one good fic of them BUT IT WAS SO GOOD that i fell in love with them as a couple!! i also think him and luxembourg or hongice + lux would be fun!

8) made-up connections with other characters that weren't in the canon (friends, enemies, whatever): aah i don't actually think i have any :,) it's not canon anymore because of him making friends with the aseans, but prior to those strips i would've called him the nordic with the least relationships outside of the group. i think he's friendly with the others around his age though! taiwan, seychelles, liechtenstein, lux, latvia! and he likes america, although he overwhelms him

9) Headcanons about their past: hrmrm in the hongice fic i mentioned he stayed in london during ww2 and i think that idea makes a lot of sense & i really like it!! the rest i've pretty much covered. i'll add that in my head he lived with norway growing up (canon is kind of contradictory, but one strip implies he lived in iceland even after he met norway). i just think it makes more sense that they wouldn't leave this kid all alone?? but it does also mean he witnessed a lot of difficult things (sweden & denmark's fights especially) so it wasn't always a happy time

10) content about them I'd like to see more of: him & denmark like i said !! also more nationverse hongice i feel like it's so rare!! and i loooove things going into the complexities of him & norway as siblings. plus anything about his young teens because we only ever see a frame of that in canon i'm p sure!!

It means that’s when the story was filmed on that day and she edited today for a post. She and Sebastian were in Japan until Wednesday. He filmed an interview with the makeup designer last night in LA at her house. None of his team members were in Tokyo. They were alone. Everything she filmed while there happened after Sebastian did his comic con. I hate going in circles with these anons, please face reality./ please dont say it like its true because you dont know it for sure yet you talk like you were there and saw all of it, she also film when seb was at comic con, there is app for that, and for 3 days she almpst every day start to ppst at the same time seb start his first thing on comic con. His or hers team could be there, you dont see how many rooms they rent, you dont even see if someone dont stand next to aw when she took a pic or post a vid, she could easy ask for example her pa to step a little bit back so there is no chance she will ne in vid or pic, because in some moments it looks like aw was with someome and this moments were when seb was at comic con, plus its more safe to be there with someone and less boring to walk around. Belive me its the same way like when celeb dont whant to be seen for example ariving at the airport(like seb one time was spottet with whole team what was plan since he travel manytimes before and wasnt seen), how many times seb was spotten in i dont know nyc or la and people were suprise, if celeb dont whant to be seen they make sure to make it happen, same with some celeb pregnancies like we know some names that just hide the whole fact and pop up woth a baby. It supposed to look like they went together and they make sure to sell it that way. Plus aw usually bait seb any chance she get, his arm, hand or voice yet here nothing, im sorry i dont belive in her but i dont think she change that much to stop her old habits, i just think the fact she was there was enough for some people to create stories about how their trip really look like, who was there, and how was it, and it looks like it work exacly how they whant it to work.
