Talking about mareggie, my boundaries, and similar things!
Since this seems to be a persistant and at times prevalent issue within my ask box, it seems like a good idea to make a post addressing the questions and concerns brought up to me regarding these. I hope this will help clear up any confusion and also allow me to refer back to it whenever these questions/concerns reappear. Eventually this will be added to my FAQ when I am able to, but for now this post will have to suffice in the meantime!
---
“I don’t like mareggie or any dynamic involving stalking / obsession and it makes me uncomfortable!” A) Completely alright of you to be uncomfortable, I understand. I try to be inclusive of peoples traumas and put in general warnings in my games of these aforementioned themes. However I do ask you understand that as an autistic individual my special interest lies in the complicated dynamics of my ocs--particularly mareggie being my main special interest of nearly a decade--so my games are going to continue to have these themes regardless if you’re comfortable by them or not. If you know these themes will hurt you, please disengage, block, and curate your online experience. While I’m grateful for everyone’s continued support, I make games that I personally want to put into the world. Please be mindful of this and use your best judgement when interacting with not just my work, but every media you find.
“If you’re alright with stalking and obsessive dynamics then why aren’t you okay with fans of your games making fan content with other dark themes such as incest and pedophilia?” A) My general rule is if I don’t cover a particular dark theme in my own game I wouldn’t want to see anyone in the wild using those themes with my own creations. Exploring one’s trauma of these particular themes in fiction is completely fine on one’s own terms, but I have nothing substantial to add about making fiction of these topics myself. It’s way beyond the mature ratings my games already have and quite frankly I’m just grossed out by depictions of incest and grooming/pedophilia. When I’m ignorant of the nuances of these subjects and grossed out by it, I try to discourage it from it being themes my fans use in fan work, because I also want to avoid re-traumatizing victims of these crimes--some of whom are my friends. I can’t stop anybody from using my creations for these means; everyone’s a person with free will. But I’m allowed to feel hurt and violated if people use this free will to go against my wishes because they just felt entitled to, and feel like defying me is 'sticking it to the man' or whatever. I will not ever change my mind on this, so be aware me directing you to this is your one and final warning. Further pestering will result in blocking.
Lastly,
“Well everyone online is going to be scumbags anyway at some point, so why don’t you just accept that people will do this with your ocs?”

MAY THE BEST MAN WIN PART 2
꒰ ⊹ ˚ Summary — Erron black decides to test the waters by flirting with you in front of Kano, but with him having some slight possessive nature,, he cannot let that happen any further without going down with a challenge
Description on this part — Basically Another flirty remarks made towards you, but you,Erron,Kano are set on a mission but Kano is dead set on making sure Erron isn’t making moves on you. ( Also getting closer to Erron!)
Pairing — Erron!Black x GN!Reader X Kano!Mk11
My note — RAHH I’m so surprised people actually liked this!! I am so glad!! 2 people asked for a request so sorry if I couldn’t reply and edit this on the inbox but here it is, hopefully it meets up towards your expectations!! And to make it clear you can be female,Male,Nonbinary to read this I wanna make my works inclusive as possible, I’ve gotten a lot of nsfw requests so if you want to read my guidelines for it please let me know
Another night at the black dragon fighting club, Kano, never one to back down, leaned in closer to you, his voice dripping with mischief. "Y'know, luv, I'd hate to see that charming smile of yours go to waste. Why don't you give the dangerous life a break and join me for a night on the town?"
Erron Black, on the other hand, wasn't about to let Kano have the last word. He leaned in with an even smoother tone, trying to maintain his suave demeanor. "Or, darling, you can take a walk on the wild side with me. I promise you won't regret it."
Your eyes darted between the two men, both vying for your attention. It was clear that they were willing to pull out all the stops to win you over.
With a roll of your eyes and a corner smirk that matched Kano's characteristic sarcasm, you decided to play along. "Well, gentlemen, it seems I'm in quite the predicament. I'm afraid I can't choose just yet."
Kano let out a triumphant laugh, while Erron raised an eyebrow, intrigued by your response. It seemed that your playful banter only fueled their determination to win your favor.
Kano, refusing to back down, chimed in with a sly grin. "Smart choice, luv. Keeps us on our toes, it does."
Erron nodded in agreement. "Ain't that the truth. We'll just have to keep impressing you."
You replied with a smart “ have fun trying to fulfill that “ You proceeded to walk away leaving them only hearing the sound of your shoes/Heels clicking the floor
As the banter continued, it took on a playful and even absurd tone. Kano and Erron found themselves exchanging increasingly outrageous and amusing suggestions to win your attention, all while keeping their charismatic personas intact.
You couldn't help but be entertained by the entire spectacle. It was clear that this competition was far from over, and you were content to sit back and enjoy the attention. Despite the chaos and rivalry surrounding you, you found yourself in a rather unique and amusing position, with Kano and Erron Black both trying to capture your interest.
One day you, Erron, Kano, Sektor, and many robot replicas and trained men, you were all sent to capture Johnny, Sonya, or at least Cassie to gain something beneficial, you and Erron went alone first along the military base and caught a moment alone between you two
As the mission continued, you guys found yourselves stationed in a quiet corner of the underground facility, momentarily away from the action. The air was heavy with tension, but the two of you took a moment to breathe from the previous shooting of protection and exchanged a few quiet words.
Erron Black, his charming facade momentarily down, turned to you. "You know, darlin', we’ve never gotten a chance to talk like this in the middle of a mission."
You nodded, feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders. "That's true. it feels like we're constantly on the move, sometimes I wish I weren’t so involved in everything "
Erron's voice softened as he looked at you as he has never had a personal conversation before with someone he works with . "I know it's a dangerous world, but there's something about you, something that keeps me coming back for more."
You met his gaze, there was a moment were you both looked in each others eyes then lips, the connection between you deepening in that quiet moment. "It's not easy to navigate this whole process, but having someone like you during the process..makes it a little less…daunting."
Erron just slightly moved closer to you, you add your pinky finger on top of his hand making eye contact with him, Just as he was about to say more, Kano's voice erupted through the radio, dripping with jealousy and irritation. "Oi, lovebirds, we've got a situation here! Stop playin' around and get back to work, This ain't the time for touchy-feely nonsense."
Erron, unfazed, shot back, "Seems like someone's feathers are ruffled. Can't handle a little human connection, Kano?"
Kano's response was a low, menacing growl. "I'm watchin' you, Erron. Don't get too comfortable."
Erron Black let out a quiet chuckle, and the two of you returned to the mission at hand. Kano's tone didn't go unnoticed, and it was clear he wasn't pleased with the intimacy he had just witnessed.
As you moved forward, Kano's attitude became increasingly disruptive even at the slight normal conversations almost every one has . He couldn't hide the jealousy that coursed through him, and his comments through the radio were laced with irritation and impatience.
Another smart remark flashed the both of you, when you and Erron accidentally bumped into each other from you walking to fast and not looking where you were walking at, and your guys hand glided on top of each other sorta like this ( click on the link on the word “ This “ )
Kano's voice crackled again. "You two best be focused on the mission instead of holdin' hands. We're here to capture Johnny, not exchange sweet nothings."
Erron Black shot back, his own irritation evident. "You're just jealous, Kano. Afraid you're losin' your grip on your precious Y/n."
Kanos extreme annoyance just exploded “ you shouldn’t even be picking at what should be mine “
Erron leaned in, his voice a low murmur, "Seems our mate Kano is struggling with the concept of sharing."
You chuckled, the irony not lost on you. "I never thought I'd be the center of a love triangle in the middle of a mission."
Erron's grin widened. "Well, darlin', life is full of surprises. But you can bet Kano won't make this easy."
Kano rolled his eyes again as usual “ god damnit black, quit your gobsmackin with y/n We're not on a damn date. Focus on the mission!"
Erron shot back, his voice filled with mischief, "Jealousy doesn't suit you, Kano. Maybe you should try being a bit more charming like me."
The tension between the two men was palpable, and it seemed that the love triangle had reached a boiling point. You couldn't help but feel the weight of their rivalry and the complexities of your relationships.
The love triangle between Kano, Erron Black, and you continued to play out, each interruption and intimate moment adding to the complexities of your relationships. The question remained: who would ultimately capture your heart in the end?
Thanks for reading!! I really appreciate it!! Have any other requests? Put it in my inbox and I’ll start writing it!! Have an amazing day or night Besitos!!💋💋

Hi! I was wondering, if you feel comfortable, if you could give an update as to how the wedding went and what your honeymoon was like? Only if you'd like to and it's not too private to share. It's more that I (and I'm sure others) were excited for you in the lead up to your wedding, and you mentioned it was a lovely day so would be keen to hear more :)
hi!! i would love to! it means a lot that people would be interested :)
overall, the wedding was amazing. the weather was perfect on the island. the ceremony garden overlooked the salish sea:
at the ceremony, we chose to do quiet vows so the crowd couldn't hear. at one point, i had put a silly pun in mine and it made A throw his head back and laugh, which made everyone laugh, and that was a really special moment. my niece read wild geese, which G had given me a copy of when i was at 3E so it was really sweet to have her there for that. A's dad officiated the ceremony (he's a unitarian minister) so that was really special. he did such an amazing job - i can't wait for the video!
the two of us went back to the room after the ceremony to just be with each other for a few minutes. we were both laughing and crying at the same time - it was an overflow of emotions!
after the ceremony, we had cocktail hour in the garden with oysters, apps, and special drinks based on our cats:
(the goats loved getting fed by the kids!)
then we headed over to the barn where we had our very cool seating chart, designed to look like a bookshelf with people's names and table numbers on the spine:
we ate dinner outside in the shadow of the barn:
my best friend (the MOH) and A's brother (best man) gave hilarious toasts. then we went inside and had our first dance! i was sooooooo nervous (it was choreographed) but one of the sweet memories i'll have from the wedding is practicing in our bathroom the night before the wedding at like midnight. did not get much sleep that whole weekend!
it was an amazingly special day, one that i will never forget.
the honeymoon was also wonderful, but VERY hot. i do not do well in the heat lol so i was kind of crabby (also going through weed withdrawal which didn't help), but it cooled down a bit the second week so we did some more exploring.
(this was our view from the hotel)
we visited an old castle, an art museum in palma, a hammam (arab baths), took a sailboat for a sunset cruise (i got sick off the back of the boat lol but it was a beautiful sight while i was retching hahahaha), and went out for dinner pretty much every night. there have been a lot of anti-tourism protests in mallorca (many people come on cruise ships and/or stay at all inclusive resorts so they're not really contributing to the local economy) so we did our best to spend money at smaller restaurants and stores. we went out for a nice dinner the final night. it was a fun trip but we were both very ready to get back home, see the girls, and enjoy as much ice water as we wanted!!!

Totally agree with you about Cater in Book 5. I always found Ace and Deuce's inclusion on the team extremely forced and contrived. Realistically speaking, neither of them should’ve ever made the cut. Neither one of them have any singing or dancing training. While they did practice a little, there’s no way in hell someone would ever become a professional level dancer in the matter of a couple of days, even with the best teacher in the world.
I’m 99% certain that Yana only did that for plot convenience, because that way she wouldn’t have to craft two new characters to fill in the roles on the team. While I can understand that logic from a real world game development standpoint, like you said, I still don’t understand why someone like Cater could’ve taken Ace’s spot at the very least. Cater is in the Light Music Club, so he has a background in that area. His VA is a professional singer. Cater making the team wouldn’t be as big of a stretch as Ace. It’s not like Ace did much in this arc other than cause trouble and insult Deuce, anyways, so anyone could’ve taken his spot.
The other question about ch 3 is going to take a bit more thinking, cuz I've tried to make it work before in various stories, but this seems like a complete rework kind of answer is needed.
And yeah, I made a post a while ago about how Cater had to feel about the VDC, and it's something I tackle in some of my fics. Because I don't know how he can look at what happened and who got picked and not come to the conclusion Vil just hates him? Like this man is so driven to win that he's willing to do anything...except let Cater on the team.
And given I ship the two of them primarily their dynamic is something I've put a lot of effort into figuring out. The only thing I've found to justify it is that Vil doesn't like the idea of dating someone just for PR/fame. Because the way he talks to/reacts to Cater is just... not in line with how he treats everyone else. He constantly calls him shallow or implies he's only after fame which is just a wild take.
That he would let someone like Rook be his friend who 100% comes off more like a stalker fan type than Cater. And Rook doesn't even hide it. Like I get they bonded over Theater but it's not like Vil and Cater have no common ground at all. Cater's shown to be into fashion and design, given they go out of their way to mention Cater came up with Heartslabyul's Halloween costumes and designed their LMC clubwear (When for the most part that's all just assumed to be Crewel)
And then there is his friendship with Kalim like I've pointed out. And Lilia which Vil admits is someone he's interested in getting to know better himself. Hell Cater and Rook are friends? Like none of it makes sense.
Especially when Vil also has no problems with associating with other people who are clearly out to use him?!?! Like Azul, Jade, Ace...even Leona? But nah we're gonna hate on Cater. When he's always you know ASKED to take Vil's picture, even in situations where he wouldn't have to ie in public spaces and what not. He's never just taken it without permission.
In the end, despite the fact that Vil calls Cater shallow he's the one that comes across as incredibly shallow about the whole thing. Especially when we have Cater talking about what he sees in Vil and what he appreciates about him and why he looks up to him...and none of it is really shallow? He definitely sees more in him than just a quick ticket to fame.
It just seems so weird when Vil otherwise seems to put effort into helping others better themselves. He can be incredibly generous and thoughtful in certain situations. AND HE KNOWS THAT CATER IS LIKELY DEPRESSED. And that's what he's hiding behind his cheerful facade thanks to Cater's Labcoat personal story.
It's just like consistency, please. Anyway you probably weren't expecting this rant sorry XD It's a sore spot for me if you can't tell lol

okay okay okay so i just watched the pbs great performances hamlet and it was. SO GOOD. oh my god. here are my many, many thoughts:
- the singing starting the show is fucking amazing
- the opening funeral scene and then the transition to the wedding goes so hard
- ophelia’s song having lines from hamlet’s letters to her .. …
- this polonius casting is GOD TIER like yeah. that’s what he looks like. that’s correct.
- i don’t like that they cut the opening ghost scene :/
- omg this horatio <33 i love him sm
- horatio’s black nail polish is everything to me
- ophelia is so hot oh my god
- i love a production that plays up the sibling dynamic between ophelia and laertes
- on that note, ophelia and laertes making fun of polonious is always so fun
- the modern aspects with masks and stuff are so interesting
- the ghost possessing hamlet???? oh my god i’m obsessed why have i never seen that done before
- the actor rolling his eyes back so that you only see the whites of his eyes while he’s possessed is so fucking cool
- i love productions that have hamlet cut his hand on his sword idk why i just do
- also horatio not even hesitating to cut his own hand? i’m insane
- ah fuck,,,, hamlet and horatio grasping each others bloody hands… horatio clasping hamlet’s hand with both his hands,, i’m unwell 😭
- gertrude and claudius being super horny for each other always makes me so uncomfortable
- these ros and guil costumes are great
- big fan of productions that make claudius be super charismatic it’s always such an interesting choice
- god this polonious is so good, he’s so fucking funny
- i love hamlet’s rings <3
- hamlet taking a selfie with the stacie abrams poster is crazy
- hamlet’s personalized handshakes with ros and guil are so cute
- it’s interesting that it’s fully set in america and that all the lines referencing denmark were cut out/changed
- i’m trying to figure out what hamlet was reading but i can’t and it’s driving me crazy 😩
- hamlet smacking polonious on the ass was crazy
- god i love a production that leans into the comedic aspects of this play,, it may be shakespeare’s most famous tragedy but it’s also funny as fuck sometimes
- the incorporation of singing/rapping throughout the show is so good
- also polonious as the one white guy in the room being like. ‘erm actually i don’t like the rapping 🤓☝️’ ,,, stfu man
- i need to know who wrote the lyrics for these songs bc they’re so good and they incorporate the original text so well
- fucking hell man,, his to be or not to be was amazing
- the “where’s your father” moment was so good
- oh my god horatio’s costume change,, the pink suit,,, i love him :’)
- i wish productions didn’t cut down the passions slave speech as much as they tend to do :/
- god ophelia’s dress is GORGEOUS
- polonious being the only one wearing a mask was wild but also so real (as someone who has often been the only person masked in a room)
- god this claudius is really good i appreciate the depth he brings to the role
- hmm interesting place for an intermission idk how i feel about this
- polonious in comfy clothing,, rest in peace peepaw 😭🫡
- polonious’ body lying on the bed during the entire closet scene is so fucked
- sometimes i wish i didn’t know this play so well so i could watch adaptions without noticing every single line they leave out,,,
- jfc,, hamlet wiping the blood off his knife onto the bedsheets,,,
- gertrude not hugging claudius back 👀
- claudius punching hamlet >:(
- idk how i feel about the decision to make ros and guil know about hamlet being sent to his death
- let’s be honest i’m mostly here for solea pfeiffer’s portrayal of ophelia’s madness
- the running makeup and the messy hair. YES.
- i hate that i have a certain melody to ophelia’s songs in my head so when i hear other versions with different melodies i’m like. hmm. incorrect.
- holy fuck she’s so incredible… the ophelia ever oh my god
- YESSSS INCLUSION OF THE HORATIO LETTER SCENE FUCK YEAH (i hate when adaptations don’t include this scene)
- horatio is reading the letter like omg pirates my boyfriend is so cool
- it’s always so funny to me that claudius and laertes make a plan, a backup plan, and a backup backup plan for killing hamlet and it still backfires and kills them both (i mean it does also work to kill hamlet. but still.)
- the portrait of king hamlet watching the entire show goes so hard
- this gravedigger is so amazing i’m obsessed
- ugh 😭 the singers singing the same song at ophelia’s funeral as at the king’s 😩
- oh FUCK ophelia coming out at her funeral.. the watery lighting… i’m going insane
- horatio holding hamlet and comforting him :(
- laertes apparently being able to see the ghost of ophelia makes him as a narrative foil to hamlet all the more juicy
- the eat a crocodile line is always so random lmao
- aw fuck…. laertes singing really got me… :(
- oh my GOD this osric is so fucking funny
- lmao osric beefing with horatio
- horatio in the background of the fencing match cheering on hamlet <3
- claudius standing and rubbing gertrude’s shoulders knowing she’s about to die :( this isn’t fair i’m not allowed to be emo about them
- hamlet offering laertes the sword and then laertes stabbing him with it,,,
- gertrude’s realization of what happened right before she dies was so good
- claudius cutting his own hand on the sword was a powerful choice
- it’s always funny to me when productions completely cut out the fortinbras plotline
- horatio catching hamlet as he falls :(
- horatio singing to hamlet after he dies… i am so incredibly unwell 😭😭
- THE GHOST WAS VOICED BY SAMUEL L. JACKSON?!?? crazy.
overall, amazing production. i loved the musical elements. definitely my favorite ophelia and polonius i’ve seen, possibly my favorite laertes and claudius as well. the hamlet/horatio relationship wasn’t quite as prominent as i would’ve liked it to be, but it was still really great, and i enjoyed analyzing all the little moments they did have.

watched donington 2005 bc of your rec and loved it! do you have any more recs for interesting (and/or messy) wet races?
sure do! we're going to take a broad definition of 'wet' race here... there's also been some major rule changes this century, like bike swaps didn't used to be a thing - plus I'm not particularly inclined to check how each race was actually categorised. so for our purposes here, any race where I remember the track being wet playing a significant role counts
in honour of being incredibly inconsistent with the asterisk system, this time I've added * or ** by how much of a definite recommend it is as a wet race (also to be complete I'll include donington '05)
donington 2000*: valentino's first premier class win and a very valentino way to do it. absolute horror show of a start that drops him to thirteenth on lap one, and he picks his way through from there on the damp track. lovely little comeback ride as they wobble around - crucially at a time when vale did not have a good reputation as a wet weather racer. fun 3-way fight for the win
suzuka 2002**: the first ever motogp race in nasty nasty conditions, and features an unexpected starring performance from japanese wild card rider akira ryo who was very familiar with the track and where all the puddles were. valentino sticks behind him for much of this race, watching and learning. showcases valentino's approach rather nicely
le mans 2003: this one isn't wet for most of the race, and when it starts raining the race is interrupted. that being said, the sete/valentino duel in slippery conditions after the race resumes is fun and fiddly enough to justify its inclusion. banger of a last lap
mugello 2004: same as above - interrupted a few laps before the end for rain. the conditions are very uncertain when they resume, and the last few laps involves a multi-rider scrap between riders on slicks on a track that is very much not dry. fantastic race
shanghai 2005: conditions proper nasty start to finish, crazy amounts of spray. vale does the thing where he gives himself a bit of work to do and is 6th at some point during the first lap, though he's soon up to 2nd and goes about hunting down kenny roberts jr. in the end he disappears out front, so it's up to everyone else to make it exciting (mostly by struggling to stay on track)
donington 2005**: this one's a go-to pick for a reason. horrendous conditions, high attrition rate, lairy saves, a tense fight for the lead before valentino eventually feels comfortable enough to pull a painful margin on the field. classic race all round
phillip island 2006*: first ever bike swap race! late in the season so it's all very dramatic with the title fight - you've still got several different contenders at this stage with constantly changing fortunes. drama up and down the field until the very very end
donington 2007**: proper wet race and exactly what you want from these things, with the run order constantly chopping and changing. the winning rider spends a lot of time in a lot of different positions, great ride to fight his way through
sachsenring 2008: dani's leading the championship, vale crashed the last time out at assen before recovering to 11th, casey's won the last two races... all three of them have very different races in the full wet conditions. incidentally the last race before laguna
indy 2008*: proper fun scrap in appalling conditions! the usual suspects and also some more unusual suspects (that year anyway) scrapping it out at the sharp end of the race - and they really are going for it given the conditions. once stopped, there isn't a restart, though there's still that fun bit where casey joins valentino to (presumably) tell ezpeleta that they are not going back out there
le mans 2009*: my pitch for this one is that it has a claim to being the most embarrassing race of valentino's career. everything that could possibly go wrong did go wrong. I laugh every time I think about this race, but I suppose you have to admire his perseverance
mugello 2009*: yeah, this one's fun! bike swap race right after le mans so Certain Riders are playing it a bit safe... some great tussling and mixing it up and odd run orders in this one, just what you're looking for. incidentally the last race before catalunya
donington 2009*: another one for people who sometimes want to watch some very talented athletes embarrass themselves. casey has the mystery illness excuse for making a ridiculous tyre choice, but the others? lemme not speak. great chaotic shenanigans
sepang 2009: valentino's first matchpoint race, but he has a horrendous first lap (after qualifying well for once) that makes it look like the championship might not be quite done yet. great race out front from casey, though a lot of this one is about tracking vale and jorge's progress through the field. good fun!
le mans 2011*: plenty of talking points post-race, with some riders perhaps not balancing risk/reward quite right on the slippery track. a fierce fight for the final two podium spots behind casey
silverstone 2011*: the signature casey wet weather performance, and it's just too good from him to be exciting out front. still, the conditions are nasty enough there's plenty of peril behind - which two riders in particular discover while attempting to take on dovi
valencia 2011*: unpleasant first corner pile-up, but it's a nice little race from there in tricky conditions that get worse at the end. an extended dovi/dani duel that has real stakes for championship standings and pride. also you get a really dramatic ending out front, kinda out of nowhere? worth sticking with this one
le mans 2012*: jorge's in that stage of his career where he's a decent wet weather racer, and he very much disappears out front as battle rages behind. valentino fights with casey, fights with dovi/cal, fights with casey again... the last vale/casey duel featuring a last lap overtake
assen 2014: wet to dry bike swap, with more rain threatening. it features the first real dovi/marc scrap (doesn't last long, but they have a 2nd go at it as marc hunts dovi down). plus there's also an impressive comeback ride from vale after a poor tyre choice
aragon 2014: rather a nasty valentino crash close to the start - but once you're through that, you're in for quite a silly one. let's just say the dominant rider that year does not have a particularly dignified day in the office. dry to wet bike swap race, which some perhaps grasped a little too late
silverstone 2015**: first race in which valentino lost the championship lead, but this is the bounce back race in the soaking wet. marc puts a lot of pressure on valentino here, it's 2015, what more do you want? late pressure from other riders too, a signature valentino wet weather ride
misano 2015*: big twists, big turns, massive title fight implications. a flag-to-flag race where both title contenders perhaps don't get it quite right... a lot of chaos where bike swap timing makes all the difference. a truly excellent performance from the winner
sachsenring 2016: no prizes for guessing who won this one, but way more jeopardy than the average visit to the circuit. marc just got these flag-to-flags bang on so often, and it's fun watching him secure what at one stage looked like rather an unlikely victory
brno 2016**: if you can, go into this one without being spoiler-ed, because I promise you that you will not be able to guess the podium combination after the first few laps. a lot of this race ends up being about tyre choice. a slow burn but a goody
misano 2017**: in that stretch of 2017 where every race is a Big Title Fight Race, which makes it so fun 2017 had so many of those in the wet. a fun race throughout, but the last lap is particularly daring and memorable. a signature marc performance
motegi 2017**: a race that gradually builds to a dovi/marc duel - and the additional jeopardy added by the conditions makes it something special. one hell of a last lap
sepang 2017**: first match point race, just to add a little extra drama to proceedings. a lot of tense wobbling about as dovi attempts to navigate his way back to the lead of the race - including past his rather stubborn teammate. excellent performance under high pressure from dovi
valencia 2018*: the conditions get so poor you do get several crashes that just make for unpleasant viewing... when they finally red flag it, the field is severely depleted, then it's broadly more of the same. defo a good race if 'chaos' is what you're looking for
le mans 2020*: entire race on wet track. I don't remember the 1st half of this being all that exciting, but once it gets going it's just SUCH dumb chaos, in a title fight that's all about dumb chaos
austria 2021**: a race that will be remembered more than anything because of the crazy way in which it was won. the whole race is fun, but the last few laps are kinda unforgettable
motegi 2023*: quite fun to have a flag-to-flag this late in the championship fight! the title contenders feature heavily in this one and there's enough shake-ups in the order to keep things interesting. psa: this race doesn't get restarted. pretty short
honourable mentions: valencia 2001, estoril 2002, jerez 2004, estoril 2005, le mans 2007, assen 2011, phillip island 2011, assen 2016, le mans 2021, argentina 2023
#right that's it I think I need a race rec tag#race rec tag#I astound myself with my creativity#eh I'll back tag tomorrow#motogp#//#brr brr#batsplat responds#glad you enjoyed donington 2005 anon!! one of my very favourites#the first time i watched it i was going 'THIS is supposed to be valentino's all time great wet weather performance?? what's he DOING'#which in retrospect was maybe a tad unfair. i thought he'd be gapping the field by a minute and he nearly fell like sixty times#i feel like most of his great wet weather rides are like that... he really needs to work his way into a race. you learn to appreciate it!!#anyways i'm personally a bit more of a full wet enjoyer than flag-to-flag but that bias hopefully shouldn't be reflected in these recs#word on the street is assen might be quite wet this year#i'm gonna be honest here my memory on quite a few of these was quite a bit shakier than say for sete/valentino races#my notes for everything post 2019 are AWFUL. marc really got injured and i just. gave up

while the rage still burns in my heart:
complaints about cory doc*orow's walkaway i thought might not land at my mostly retiree book club. readmore for spoilers, though i don't think you should read this book.
no clue if mistew doctowow namesearches but i do know he's on here.
walkaway is a novel of near-future speculative fiction about a post-scarcity dystopia, stop me if you've heard this one before, focusing on a group of people who have "walked away" from the technologically accelerated rat race and gone into the untamed wilds to make some other, better, mostly anarchist kinds of societies. we spend about a decade watching these people deal with the long arm of the old world, as well as leftist infighting. in typical Contemporary Science Fiction Guy fashion, it's a book that's very interested in technology and politics and not really at all interested in other things, like culture, or character, or plot.
the lack of interest in culture is what i'd really like to get at here. the most obvious example of this is the slang: there is no way on god's green earth anyone, especially young people, will still be using the word "pwn" in 2070, and yet it's somehow part of everyday vocabulary in this book. this guy has the audacity to make a joke about how "shit just got real" is a "phrase from a historical drama" while using hacker lingo that was out of date when i was reading little brother as a middle schooler.
cory also seems to have picked up the "refer to an abstract person as 'she'" thing i tend to mainly associate with rulebooks for tabletop games, which is not objectionable in and of itself, but it's used so consistently throughout the that the primary antagonist does it at one point. this is a man who plot-critically kidnaps and imprisons his daughter, but he's still doing the polite anti-andronormativity tic. there's an argument to be made that this is a veiled critique of the empty gesture towards inclusion, but i believe that you have to make a critique to veil it, and i don't think this does that.
most personally galling is tam, the only onscreen trans character in the book. i don't really have a problem with her characterization, and there's a healthy amount of queerness in this book, but for a story so fundamentally concerned with the political and material realities of a post-scarcity anarchist society, very little thought is put towards what being transgender would actually be like. the only time tam's gender is really relevant is when other characters are being kind of sexually weird about her. there's a recurring bit about her being really uncomfortable in the community bathhouse, and multiple inner monologues from perspective characters about her body: one of them is vaguely uncomfortable about her, while the other treats her as the fulfillment of a teenage sexual fantasy. it sucks! it feels like such a lazy, box-ticking waste of an opportunity.
there are plenty of other problems with this book--the pacing is monotonous, the sex scenes are terrible, the dialogue feels like a forum debate--but this is what really bothered me, just what felt like total inattention to the details of the world outside what served the gratingly didactic central argument. show me your critical worldbuilding! show me your smart characterization!! get me bought in mother fucker!!! or else!!!!

WHEW runnin on 4 hours of sleep so I’m struggling with being eloquent. I’m gonna do a list to help my brain—thoughts as I remember them
*Stage is set up wonderfully—most stadiums you aren’t gonna have a bad seat
*If you have ever been to MN, you know that MN Nice isn’t what it means other places. Most here come from sullen Nordic stock so talking to strangers requires a shitton of alcohol. Nary a bracelet was exchanged around me, no complimenting of others outfits. The vibes were very much 👀 staring at others and being too scared to interact 😆
*Openers are perfect—MAATHP followed by CS really gets the crowd amped
*Her opening speech was interesting—she made a point of saying how she appreciates that we are so accepting of people in MN which felt like her acknowledging Pride
*She is so adorable and sexy live, very multifaceted —her stage presence is unmatched. She owns the entire stadium and she knows it. Was super powerful to witness
*Over the top long winded Het-splained Betty which was 🙄 because I thought she was transitioning away from that in previous shows—also my BFF turned to me and goes “she just said it’s a fictional album but then literally writes a song about a House she actually owns” and I died 😆 I had never thought of that before
*Which leads into the fact that Rebekah’s hair was in a ponytail flip thing—hairpin theory may be a bust
*The stage, lighting, bracelets light coordination, pyrotechnics are all top tier. Just next level—I don’t wanna ruin it because it was a shock and super cool, but I’ll say there was a point when we were blasted with volcano level heat being in the upper bowl and everyone went wild
*I sobbed the entire time through Marjorie which was expected
*Dear John was the only song I sat for—I absolutely freaked out that she said be nice online kids don’t go after anyone—turned to my friends and was like omfg she’s never addressed that before!! I do think she needs to be more forceful and real though in her language choice. It very much gave Kindergarten teacher talking to her class—which as we see, did nothing given the amount of posts I’m seeing of swifties being like nope don’t care. I wish she could’ve been like “hey stop being assholes online!! I don’t like it! It doesn’t help me!!”
*Daylight was a shock to me—very beautiful acoustically
*Her dancers are so talented, love all the diversity—also size inclusion, I love a bigger dancer that can do a fucking 3 hour set—break the stereotypes!!
*Seeing the screen during Anti-Hero live was heavy. I do not get what Swifties think is happening during that song. I didn’t realize it till last night, but they juxtaposed live Taylor singing on the left of the screen next to giant angry Taylor screaming and begging to be seen. It’s a crazy feeling to see that and be like damn I participate in this dichotomy by even being here
*I took a pee break during tolerate it and the line was nonexistent
*Shes so quick at costume changes!!
*Rainbow stage and rainbow bracelet lights for August which makes no sense unless it makes sense. Why wouldn’t it be a beach seen/waves?
*I don’t get how she sounds so good second night and doesn’t lose her voice. Doesn’t make sense to me—she must not talk day of the concert at all
*Shit I can’t remember which song it was for, but the screen visuals are naked Taylor in a bed. We get a brief glimpse of her holding someone’s hand, and the hand is of a Black person. This is significant IMO for 2 reasons—we are seeing continuity that she’s using anyone *but* a CIS white man as her love interest over and over and over again. Why?? If she’s only ever officially dated CIS white men?? Make it make sense. Also using a Black man as the Love interest in Lover and then having a Black male dancer do the Karlie grab hands stare at each other walk during Style seems like she’s trying to get across this is about the same person IMO
*The show is planned so well that it never fully loses momentum. And the 3 hours goes by way faster than I thought it was going to
*If you go to a show please stay and cheer for her band, dancers, etc. So many people left while she was asking for us to acknowledge them which is rude AF. She’s always known and acknowledged she couldn’t do these shows without 100s of mostly unseen talented people
Overall, I feel very fortunate I got to see her perform Eras. It is a once in a lifetime show. I don’t know what’s next for her, but it feels like she’s stepping away from this version of herself and evolving. I can’t wait to see what’s next 🫶🏼

So I saw the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie and I’ve been thinking about it and game to movie/tv adaptations in general, so I guess a review and some general thoughts on it d(^^ ).
⚠️FNAF MOVIE SPOILERS!!!⚠️
I liked the movie, it was fun. The creature shop did really well on the animatronics, and there were quite a few scenes that had me pretty shocked in a good way. Vanessa’s inclusion was actually kinda cool the way they did it and surprisingly I did end up liking the little sister character they added in. William Afton was the best part of the movie and I’m glad he was even though I kinda knew he would be lol. The spring lock scene was a bit toned down, but still cool as hell and I honestly didn’t expect them to put it in at all. The Matpat cameo and the Living Tombstone at the end were fucking wild and hella deserved tbh.
There were some things I’m still meh about though:
I didn’t like how Mike wasn’t really bothered by the animatronics very much at all. They were barely a threat to him. The scenes of the vandals getting attacked was pretty cool, but Mike, the night guard himself, is just kinda protected through the plot armor of his little sister and I guess sleeping on the job??? Sure he did get attacked by the ghosts of the children during a dream, BUT it’s kinda a major plot point that the possessed animatronics are slowly closing in on the night guard office and you have to keep them away, soooo yeahhhh. Like aw man where’s my scene of the night guard closing the doors and having to anxiously watch the cameras? Especially with the added horror that there’s his little sister there and he thinks they’ll hurt her! Those are some high stakes they could’ve had! And the scenes of the sister being friendly with the animatronics could’ve been way cooler if they had scenes of the animatronics being aggressive towards Mike to balance them. Where’s all the my paranoia the game centered around? The suspense, dread, panic? I just didn’t get those vibes from the movie very much, which is sad.
Some of the changes to Mike’s story were strange choices imo. Most fans will know that “Mike Schmidt” is like a pseudonym for Michael Afton, William Afton’s oldest son who is kinda trying to figure out the murder cases and shut all this down, I cannot explain the whole fnaf lore in one bullet point 💀 but it’s important. In the movie, it really kinda seems like they made Mike his own character with his own family and his own sad dead brother backstory. Which is weird to me, because I feel like the whole dreaming plot could’ve worked really well with Michael considering the events of FNAF 4. That game implies that some of the events are at least coma dream related with the IV bags that show up in the kid’s room and mini games, so it would’ve made sense that this ghost kid brother would be communicating through dreams. They could’ve had Michael keep trying to change those events and then remember towards the end that what really happened that day was he had accidentally killed his brother at this establishment and that’s why he had blocked the place and that yellow rabbit, ya know? This would’ve also been interesting considering that little sister character they added and how he’d then feel like he shouldn’t be the one to take care of her after he figures out what happened only to get that redemption later. Idk I just feel like the plot lines they were going for would’ve been cooler if they had maybe not outright said that he was Michael Afton yet, but implied it or kept the whole crying child backstory. They could still be setting this up for twist in a sequel though since Willam kinda stutters on his last name when they meet and they have this whole child custody plot going on, maybe they’ll make that foreshadowing for later when it’s revealed that Willam was divorced or something and that’s why Mike doesn’t know that’s his dad, but yeah idk.
I feel like it was generally watered down. I get that it was made with the idea that kids would be the main audience in mind, but I think a lot of the actual horror gets lost. I almost wanna see this series get an R rated movie someday in the future just to see a different take on it, especially the first game since the vibes and general horror are really at there best in the earlier games. They’re not the scariest games ever made or anything, but playing the first one again recently it still holds up tbh, especially in atmosphere.
No Phone Guy :’(. Not even playing on the tapes. Like they should’ve just kicked the whole nature sounds things and had Phone Guy play instead. One of my favorite characters in the series and they didn’t put him in alas (;_;).
There are things I’d change about it for sure, but I enjoyed it for what it was. It’s pretty damn cool getting to see a movie based on an indie game series like this, and what’s more one that seems to actually respect it.
Perfect? Not hardly. Pretty good? Yeah :). 7/10
#fnaf#fnaf movie#five nights at freddy's#Five Nights at Freddy’s movie#fnaf movie review#fnaf spoilers#text post#incoherent rambling#yeah I like other games besides Castlevania asdfghjkl—#big part of my childhood this one holy heck#met a lot of friends because of it#I have the games on the switch rn it’s cool#physical media hell yeah >:)#I have a Golden Freddy plushie :3#anyway yeah it was ok 👍#again I want my super lore accurate dark fnaf movie ong#I wanna see Michael become ourple on screen#am I spelling his name right wait#uh oh the tags aren’t helping everyone spells the micheal differently#let’s just call him Mike from now on#justice for Phone Guy though ong#I like to think the first guy they had die was a phone guy reference but like#his tapes really really should’ve been playing in the background#anyway time to go listen to old fnaf songs and look for MMDs I used to watch lmaooooo#definitely a better adaptation then uh that one Netflix tv show that shall not be named—#good in a similar way as the Sonic movies tbh#different but still has the charm? idk how to explain it#hey! I have also finished blind trust and oh my gods that had a pull. Thank you for writing this. Reading the whole thing took maybe 5 hours, with small breaks. It was glorious. (slight addendum, adding "child abuse" to the "potential hard topics" list could be helpful to some... i mean, you do notice in pretty much the prologue but still.) I want to hug them all. I want to absorb the idea of a group of people this safe and just - connected. I breathe easier at the inclusion of that rarely seen kind of aroace very intimate, deep, emotional love. And Intersex inclusion. Queer inclusion (i am so curious how that will unfold). Spinny skirts just for the spinny, while still being masculine. Oh my gods. Thank you. I have probably not pulled together all the snippets spread throughout the book for the deeper topics and lore - especially the slight "we"s and internal voices -, but that is okay, i will reread a lot anyway. And if not, maybe the following books will make it clearer. Is the humming language taken from the real world, or your imagination? (thank you to the user I followed that reblogged someone else's review that made me find your book.) Very excited for what is to come, and for continuing to enjoy what is already shared with the world. (Now to figure out goodreads...)
Wow this ask contains some of the most impactful critique I've ever had. Not mean. Just like you mentioned how I missed child abuse as a trigger and I've been thinking about that for two hours.
Because I wracked my brain trying to think about all the potential major triggers. Substance abuse, yes. Mild self harm, even if it's just in one scene. Suicidal ideation. Technically suicidal attempts, but I don't say that because it's through a method that I'm pretty sure is mostly impossible and maybe not even accurate.
I knew Edgar was a victim of child abuse. Like you said, it's stated from the prologue and then written very clearly through implications of his past and an examination of his current character. But in my mind, stating child abuse as a trigger was akin to stating arguments or dream sequences.
Like that's how normalized it was to me. And holy shit, what a self-report that says I'm a child of abuse more than anything else ever has. Fuck.
I don't blame you for this at all and I actually thank you for pointing that out. It's wild.
Also you read it in five hours? That's crazy! Like that's fucking wild!
Also also I am glad you like a femme-masc man in a dress because Scott only gets more feral in book two. I thought he was a waif but it turns out he just needed medical care and a few hot meals, and in Act 3 of Migration Patterns the man is scheming and playing piano and being very dramatic.
Also also a lot of the lore stuff is continued into the rest of the series. It is very much piecemeal though. I intend for the experience of Songbird Elegies to be like working backstage in a theater production. Like something objectively more interesting is happening adjacent to the story, and you're literally in the dark, learning things piecemeal.
But like there's a comfy chair in the green room and your next cue isn't for a few minutes so it's actually pretty chill. That's my vibe.
OH and I made up Tone Speech. I'm very proud of it. It's a fun language and mostly useless you're in a family where most of the people have perfect pitch.

(below, there are some observations about my language and its gendered words, which we have a lot. feel free to ignore if it's not of your interest)
As you can see, most adjectives are gendered; like "brava" (femimine) and "bravo" (masculine) -- both meaning "angry/pissed off". Mostly, the letters "o" and "a" are used to define if a word is masculine or feminine, respectively, and there aren't neutral alternatives for them (few exeptions are adjectives like "inteligente [smart]" and "estudante [student]" or "forte [strong]" which are completely neutral, like the english ones). Then we have the official gendered pronouns of portuguese language, "ele (he)" and "ela (she)". Lately, though, people are agreeing on the inclusion of neutral alternatives, using the letter "e" in these gendered words, instead of "a" or "o"
Ex: Brave (neutral alternative for brava/bravo) - angry
Cuidadose (neutral alternative for cuidadoso/cuidadosa) - careful
Esperte (neutral alternative for esperto/esperta) - another word for "smart"
And as some masculine words use "e" instead of "o", (like "ele"), the neutral equivalent would use "u" (becoming "elu", the neutral pronoun in portuguese language, like the singular they in english).
Fun fact: The word "the" also is gendered in portuguese, being divided in "o" (masculine) and "a" (feminine): [a mulher era inteligente - the woman was smart] or [o homem era lindo - the man was beautiful]. The neutral equivalent of it would be "ê" (ê menine era divertido - the enby was funny).
Another fun fact: There is a thing in portuguese which we call "nominal concordance" (concordância nominal), which is basically that every word in the sentence has to agree in number and gender with the noun. In english, most of the words are naturally neutral, but not in portuguese. Basically, nominal concordance means that you can't put a masculine adjective to describe a feminine noun. And I don't mean just "woman", "girl" and words like that. Many things in portuguese, like normal objects, also are put like fem or masc, since we don't have the pronoun "it". "Door" would be a feminine noun. Just as "mug", "shirt" or "window". So we use feminine adjectives when refering to such objects. Ex: A porta estava aberta. (The door was open - pink are the feminine words. Door is already feminine.) - O portão estava aberto. (The gate was open - blue are the masculine words. Gate is already masculine.)
Yet another fun fact: When we are talking of a plural, and in that plural we have both masculine and feminine members, the masculine stands out (This is actually because the language is mysoginist but forget that for a minute). In english, you have "they", right? In portuguese, not. We have gendered plurals! The most dumbest thing in the word, actually. Eles - plural of "he". If you're talking about a bunch of man, instead of saying, "they", you say "eles". Elas - plural of "she". Talking about a bunch of woman, "elas". So, when we put a woman and a men (pronoun conforming) in a group and talk about them, we don't say, he and she, as we miss the "they". We say "eles", the masculine plural. Because the masculine stands out. That's the rule: if in a plural there's at least one masculine noun, no matter if there are 99 fems, the nominal concordance might be masculine.
One more fun fact: While the word "person" (pessoa) is technically feminine in portuguese, you can use it to refer to people of any gender/pronouns, since it's pretty neutral, after all. Even if you got to use feminine words with it because of nominal concordance.
One more: most colors, even when used as adjectives, don't have gendered variations. Like blue - azul. You can say that a man or a woman are blue (don't ask why) without having to change the word. Some exeptions are red (vermelho/vermelha) and purple (roxo/roxa).

the magicians s1e13
yes i put this one off i wasn't ready yet
i love when the recaps just give everything away it's so cute of them ohhhh the watcherwoman you say? god i wonder who that is. oh jane chatwin is important you say? that's interesting.
i love that q gets into fillory and within days is like alright guess i should write an unauthorized sequel to fillory and further
"no, i just stabbed my own hand" YOU wanted the fantasy protagonist lifestyle YOU have to deal with the common risk of blood sacrifice
BOOOOO FUCK YOU EMBER EVERYBODY HATES EMBER
loveeeee the .02% opium also love "a pretty unfair way to get you to love a place" i love the way he thinks of things you neurotic little freak
NOTHING better than the way q says "nnnnbitches" in i am in that scene, bitches
(speaking to the magicians showrunners) by all means, hinge your entire quest on a traumatized boy
every knife scene is a tease until my beloved wife fen appears
you are from a place that likes murder!
it is so obvious as to almost be lazy that the watcherwoman would be q's favorite fillory villain
jesus christ i love that q is the volunteer tomato. he would be. he really would be, he cannot resist jumping into danger if the purpose is to save the things he loves.
the memory patch :-((((((
"margo being such a bitch." oh eliot waugh you are so dear to me
q's narration is pretty fun for this episode i like it quite a bit
this is a funny stage of the team assembly, the way they resist julia's inclusion when actually julia is going to be very important to everyone (i am making this up just because i like julia)
the leo blade is pretty sexy i appreciate it
TIME FOR FEN
oh wait i forgot it's a different fen :-( see you soon my beloved
"i admit i was 100% sure that i was definitely the high king. i know! shocking, right?" fucking crazy that we have to watch him experience total ego death while eliot is making stoner jokes
season one eliot still agreeing to marry fen despite all the fine print is so shocking when you think about it, like, i forget the kind of guy he starts out as, and the "my life, it doesn't work" speech is like a total shove into character development that moves so quickly and immediately blooms and is so instantly rewarding. man when this show is good it's good.
"i think you're the only person that i can stand"
these chapter titles make me believe that q is not a good writer. i imagine his fillory fics were not highly rated.
"father-in-law, why is this blade a thousand degrees?"
mrs. me !!!!!
i will say this. and this is a kind of spoilsport opinion i know this. i do not like the whole ember's jizz plot and i find it very gross and demeaning and unnecessary, not that any of this is necessary, just that this specific element feels chosen to be a gross-out.
"can you be the champion we've been waiting for? "i want to be." whew there it is!
ONCE AGAIN FUCK EMBER FUCK EMBER FOREVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
me when i hate the character the show wants me to hate :-o >:-(
i completely forgot plover was in the dungeon lmao you know what let martin be a little bit more of the beast !!!!!! yeah poor you !!!!
most pathetic boy in the world voice: i know you don't want to hear it right now but i love you
quentin coldwater has the craziest fucking self-esteem anyone has ever had it goes in all directions and fluctuates hourly
you're not as good as i hoped, quentin coldwater.
please not the glowing eyes jesus christ
whewwwwwwwwww the reynard scene is always going to get to me sooooo fucking bad jesus jesus jesus
"trickster of the faithful and the pure of heart" i gotta be honest i don't know what mythology reynard is part of but i don't know what the purpose of a god like that would be. this guy seems like a burnt pancake to me.
horrible. horrible!
it's so wild that she called marina. i like that she did that i just think it's crazy. and it's a really interesting aspect of marina's character too! "jesus, julia, i wanna help." the girl is not an asshole we just hate women with boundaries JOKING she IS an asshole but i do think sometimes women are allowed to be.
love that penny expands his powers with stick-and-pokes
i believe, because i want to, that there is some significance to julia going into the wellspring last.
i forgot martin is UGGOOOOO
you know i think the way this show frames the forty timelines, for q at least, is as a kind of suicide mission, which i really feel like pushing against. i don't see q as a character outlined by despair or futility i think he's all about hope and perseverance and i think that's beautiful and it's what i want for him!
shit i completely forgot about jules teaming up with the beast for a minute oh julia you're a crazy lady
shows don't have the kind of security to end a season with five out of six main characters bleeding out and absolutely no resolution anymore

HEHEHEHE, LISTEN, IM SHAKING YOU BY THE SHOULDERS; these little guys give me such intense feelings, especially with what you mentioned about Doe knowing Beavis back when they were both Little Shitheads and then reuniting when they’re Older Shitheads
Doe, as a young little 15-something, finds genuine, if very stupid emotional release in the company of resident dumbass Beavis. She’s having a tough time between bouncing around with moving, working part time (with VERY questionable legality, because look at the time frame and small town, it’s PRACTICALLY the wild west when it comes to child labour) but never seeing a penny of the money earned. All the while dealing with the standard teenage girl frustration between clashes in personality and culture with her parent & sibling and the whole, y’know, ESP and repeatedly being forced to view her deaths and potential future through her dreams.
Whether you want to play it as a genuine puppy-love thing, two little weirdos having a pure and confusing friendship that maybe they’ll only realize could have been an innocent childhood romance when they’re already adults and thinking back on missed opportunities and missed signs (aka. MAN I WAS A STUPID KID reflection), or a kind of odd friendship that fluctuates between enabling bad behaviour and being an outlet of acceptance without judgement from others. I LOVE IT EITHER WAY
ALSO, WITH DOE AND HER PARTIAL MUTISM LEADING TO THE NONSENSE, they’re making a bullshit way of communicating with each other; Beavis is like, ‘shit, this language thing is easy,’ but Doe’s mostly laughing with him and getting better at reading whether or not he understands. Beavis, with his accidental inclusivity, has no idea how much that stupid stuff means to little Doe, who’s still struggling with everything.
I'm just, my heart!!! They have the Alice's Restaurant Massacree vibes!
And Doe reuniting with Beavis many years later after she and her folks moved away (and unknowing to Beavis, she became a missing person) to see him still being a lovable idiot and reconnecting an odd kind of friendship even after all the years is so sweet to me. Doe also likes her imprinting on Birdie; she likes kids! And adorable babies with tiny hands are something she is weak for; a baby could tell her to overthrow the government, and she’d listen ASDHASDHASD
and maybe the angst of Beavis with his baby inspiring her in a round-about-way to reunite with her own family (even though they don't deserve her or her time)

I have decided to do this in in a separate post for you as these particular readings are quite long. Please feel free to read at your leisure under the read more. You are more than welcome to save a personal copy for yourself as it is your reading.
This is long as a head's up to you. I hope that it resonates with you and I am happy to talk with you on any part should you need that!

Question: What am I?
Chosen Tiles:
Candle – Illumination, knowledge seeking
Bird – The soul, representation of you
Moon – secrets revealed, mysteries of the self
Pulled Tiles*:
Walled Garden – Outer shell and inner life, Nature, order, private life, control of access, information not revealed fully
This is representative of the outer layer of yourself. With this being the first tile that I pulled after my set of 3 question tiles, this may be a large indication of why you may be having difficulty of answering your question. As this is the Walled Garden, it is about the paradise within that is protected by a barrier. For you, I’m getting this as a safety measure that can prevent others from delving into your personal self, while also being an obstacle for you. There is a degree of the “control of access” to that inner part, or the self-discovery you are seeking of what you are.
Marionette – Obedience, someone behind the scenes, playfulness and fanfare
I will admit that I find this tile a bit concerning coming up after the Walled Garden just as this is one where I am seeing it as an outside party potentially meddling. While the main term is bolded, I am drawn to the idea that there is something behind the scenes working, not necessarily against, but watching over you. This connects to the Walled Garden in that this is most likely the individual (or several, I am uncertain) that is controlling access to you. Though, there is also the characteristic of the marionette being a persona put on that becomes you in some manner. I do feel that the attributes of playfulness and humor are befitting for you. That is a part of who you are, but the curtain is still firmly closed.
Alpha and Omega – Finality, process, completion, a start and an end, a set course
This appearing in your reading is also slightly peculiar to me too. This is one of the tiles that I use to look at cycles. As this has the bolded term of “finality”, which is about an inevitable end. This one stands out to me as it appears you are on set course. This does not entirely answer who you are in terms of the question, but it does show the path you are in a way. I hesitate to say so, but this is the tile related to destiny. There are things within your path that you have to reach, but you will reach them. What is provided here shows that you will meet it, and the answer you seek will be revealed.
Wild Man – Wild Man, untapped nature of the self (of humanity), the animal side, wildness
As I look at the Wild Man tile, I can see some more revealing information in relation to you. Instead of this being a tile of uncivilized nature as one of the meanings is for it, I am looking at this one as the untapped nature of the self. This is about the discovery of who you are, and what you are. As this follows the Walled Garden (and the two others), I would like to say that this is related to your internal. If you peel back the outer layer, and you look inwards, you will see a bounty of information. It is all there. Now, as I also mentioned the inclusion of the “animal side” it is possible you have some kinship or some connection to a particular creature. That may be something to look into if that resonates with you as it could be a way to illuminate some light onto your question.
Sun – Day, authority, truth, presence, a particular beast or being, creativity, intellect
The Sun tile speaks about the bolded term of “day”, although for you, I am more interested in how this relates to the particular beast or being. As it immediately follows the Wild Man tile, that holds more weight to me as I’m examining this. The inclusion of the terms “creativity” and “intellect” are a look at you as well. Though they may also loan themselves to the untapped side of yourself. Even if you are already possessing those traits, it is possible there is more potential to them that you have not reached. Because this tile is slightly multi-faceted, I want to say that this is about the untapped part (possibly animal or some form of creature) and then about who you are at present.
*Note: The first bolded word is the primary meaning associated with the tile, but the rest are just as applicable, if not more, in regards to the overall reading. Colors associated with them are what I see when I pull them.
Interpretation:
Looking at all of this, I see the present theme here for you. The Walled Garden presents itself as the outer layer for you. You are obstructed by a barrier that is preventing a deeper look at yourself, and for others to see in to you. This looks like it is a defense mechanism either set up by another (if you work with spiritual entities, it may be wise to speak to them, but if not disregard this), or just a natural state you have. There is the possibility that you erected the barrier at some point and it worked well but was forgotten to be removed so you can “look inwards”.
The inclusion of the Marionette tile is fascinating in some aspect as this does not entirely relate to your question. Again, I still see this as a tile from an outside party that is on your side so-to-speak. If you do work with any entities, it may be wise to discuss with them about the obstruction. On the other hand, it is entirely possible that the Marionette is about how you control and view yourself. As if it is a persona, once again, and you are there to put on a show to amuse others.
Going over the Alpha and Omega, I personally associate this with being on track and matters of destiny. You will take the steps you need to discover more about what and who you are. In time and on your journey through this question, you will make the discovery and answer your own query. This is a firm feeling.
The Wild Man as I go over it once more, it is related to the untapped part of yourself that is behind the Walled Garden. It is not necessarily a wild part of you, but what you are seeking. If you go forth and examine this part that is behind the curtain, then you will find the answers. I will reiterate that there is a possibility you may have connection to some animal (possibly avian, but that may be too easy), and share those traits (especially if playfulness of the Marionette fits). Take what resonates, but I will definitely say there is an untapped part of yourself that will answer your question more fully.
Finally, the Sun illuminates all and provides traits that you have on your surface, your outer wall (creativity, playfulness, and intellect). Though there are more things underneath that are within the shadows that the sun’s rays cannot reach. That is where you will look. Because this followed the Wild Man, I do lean towards the idea of it being in-line with the “particular beast or being”, but it does not describe much more. Had I pulled an animal tile in this reading, that may have been more beneficial. But it genuinely looks like some of the introspection and idea of who and what you are is being left to you. My tiles remain firm on that as it offers you the way but does not necessarily push an idea on you of what you are. They just do not work like that as that is left the person.

Joker Rankings:
Step inside my twisted mind as I rank my personal favorite Jokers. This will largely be from media I have consumed, or ones I have a strong memory of. I don't intend to make this as a like "if you disagree with me you are wrong" thing, just a thing of the ones I have personally found the most interesting or engaging.
I will not be including comics, or the individual DC animated films because there are. So dang many of them.
Mark Hamill's Joker (Various media)
Idk if it's cheating necessarily to list Mark Hamill's various Jokers as one guy, but I feel like even across different adaptations the general vibe of his joker is pretty consistent. Flamboyant, annoying, and often more interested in being an annoying pain in the ass than an actually effective adversary. It's pretty obvious that he is kind of the biggest inspo for my own take on the funny clown man, DCAU and the Arkham series just provide so much good material to work with for this funky little guy. Plus I feel like pretty much every major Joker adaptation since this one has, in some way, tried to emulate it. This ranking is also pretty obviously biased by both Nostalgia and also just. Prevalence. The Arkham series, especially Knight, really did a lot to push Hamill's Joker over the top for me on top of my prior enjoyment of the DCAU. 2. Kevin Michael Richardson's Joker (The Batman 2004)
So first, a series of admissions that will make this one's inclusion on this list and in this place a bit weird: I barely watched the 2004 Batman series and what I did see of it I never particularly liked. Rino Romano's Batman was not interesting to me (and I never cared for his voice), and the series in general was just. Not the sort of thing I wanted from Batman, I guess? BUT! I just really like this Joker's unusual design and Kevin's VA work for him, it's incredibly unique and definitely a take I would like to see explored more in a better property. The sort of wild-man like aesthetic is one a bit less conventional than the standard mafioso with a purple suit and a knife bit we usually get. I really hope if we get another POC take on Joker it takes some inspo from this, especially giving him a big mess of dreads. Very good stuff.
I will note that listing the animated Jokers above the Live Action ones probably isn't a coincidence, I feel like there are qualities to the character that just can't be effectively captured in Human Meat.
3. It's Heath Ledger because of course it is
The Christopher Nolan Batman movies are pseudo-fascist trash. Heath Ledger had a good take on the Joker and brought a lot of life and light to what was otherwise an incredibly miserable franchise and film. Not a lot to say that hasn't been said, if MH set the tone for Jokers aimed at a younger audience this one definitely set the tone for ""Mature"" Joker interpretations. The Twoface stuff in this, while probably being the best major film rep Harv has got so far, absolutely should have been left out for us to get more screen time with this guy. Very fun, a good edgy take that is sadly ruined by a lot of weird freaks out in the wild. We live in a society. 4. Jack Nicholson Joker
Definitely the best live-action take on the classic Joker while still managing to be threatening and substantial. He is just a wacky mobster with a grudge, which isn't bad but isn't particularly remarkable either. The movie obviously went a bit too hard with him, making him the one to kill Bruce's parents et all, but I think on the whole it's a pretty fun take. Jackie can't laugh for shit though.
5. Ceasar Romero
The Baseline Joker intepretation against which all others ought to be judged.
Maybe a bit of an overstatement but he is, to my knowledge, the first actor to ever portray the Joker in basically anything and he sets an adorably high bar. Obviously the series is aimed at kids and is highly episodic so it's not like he's going to get a lot of development but he is fun, he's cute, I wanna give him a little pat on the head.
Plus he is improved 100% if you take the obviously painted over moustache as diegetic. Just kind of a silly guy who loves doing silly crimes.
6. Jouaqin Pheonix
I thought the movie was fun. I don't generally like the Joker having a concrete origin story, nor him seeming overly sympathetic, but for what it was I thought it was a pretty fun and funky film. It just didn't really feel very Jokerish, to me? I mean he is a criminal with a clown aesthetic and a very annoying laugh but. Idk. Good movie, anyway.
7. Harley Quinn Joker
I liked this show a lot! At least the first season and a halfish, anyway? Kinda felt like it got bogged down towards the end. Anyway! Their take on Joker as a complete annoying sleezeball is fun, and Joker definitely would buy a Tesla if only to annoy people with it. It's a good Joker Parody, a funny little subversion of most modern moody Joker takes in the adult-oriented comics sphere. I am really only putting him so low because like I said he is more of a parody of the Joker than an earnest interpretation of the character, I feel like? Shrugs. Just my onions.
8. That Lego Joker?
He was just kind of an extended gay joke, I felt like? Idk I have always felt Overly Sensitive for this take but this movie never really sat right with me. Like yes, we all know they have a weird underlying psychosexual thing going on. I dunno, I thought the design was cute for a lego movie but. Idk. Very one note, by which I mean even more one note than Joker usually is.
9. Brave and The Bold Joker
I was too old for BnB when it came out, and I still am. The aesthetic is weird, the design is weird, and I am sort of mixed on the voice. Just kind of a worse take on the like Cesar Romero style Joker. Maybe I just like my Joker's nasally and weirder. That's. That's kinda all I have to say on this one. 10. Jared Leto
An incredibly poorly thought out attempt at modernizing Joker's admittedly very aged gimmick. Just. Really fucked it on this one. Not a single good thing to be said about him, other than he is only kind of bearable if you assume every negative aspect of him is a put on he's doing intentionally to be as bad to look at and perceive as possible.
The problem with that being that the films he is in obviously want to take him seriously and make the viewers perceive him as a threat, instead of a weird dude being annoying on purpose. 11. Whatever was going on in that The Batman deleted scene
This has the same problem, to me, as Faceless Joker from the comics (the only comics mention I will be making in this thread, lol). The Joker doesn't need to be a horrific disfigured mutant guy. It's not a cool new take to give the Joker a big scary mouth and make him look like some sort of ghoul, and even if you want to do that there are many way more interesting ways to do it than. This. It feels weird to rank him so low just based off a single deleted scene cameo but I hope if this version of Joker ever makes it to film he is changed dramatically. Like I'd rather see more Jared Leto Joker than this. It's not scary it's just. Boring. He doesn't need to look like a ghoul to get across that he is scary and crazy. Tbh I think a component of him being so effective usually is that he is goofy, he looks goofy!!! Like even Heath Ledger's Joker has a certain Sillyness to him. Idk maybe if we see more of him my opinion will change I am just not optimistic about this grungly man.
I do like the Laugh though.
#ooc#If there's a Joker I didn't mention you want an onion on feel free to shoot me an ask but these are just the ones I think about regularly#And aren't so niche as to feel kind of silly to dissect? Ig?#anyway this is just how I thought to order them in the moment and I feel like a lot of them below the first two could probably shift#Depending on my mood#long post
