Bleach Hanakotoba Analysis Part 2 ~ ED31: Saihate

-> Rukia Kuchiki: Cherry Blossom

In the extended version of Bleach’s 31st ending theme song, Rukia Kuchiki is pictured with branches of the cherry blossom tree. The cherry blossom (Prunus serrulata) is also known as the Japanese cherry and is the unofficial national flower of Japan. Its Japanese name Sakura (桜) has been derived from the word “saku” which means “to bloom”.  Its meanings in hanakotoba are “beauty of spirit”, grace, chastity, excellent beauty, gentleness, good education and the “transience of life”. In Japan, cherry blossoms are also a symbol of the “beauty of impermanence”—a Shinto concept better known as “mono no aware” (物の哀れ) as their falling petals are a reminder that although life is short, it is beautiful and should be savoured. The Japanese concept of “natsukashii” (懐かしい) likewise emphasizes the fleeting nature of cherry blossoms. This concept refers to the happy-yet-wistful nostalgia for times and things that we will never be able to go back to. We will never get to experience those moments again, just like the ephemeral cherry blossoms, which makes them even more significant. Cherry blossoms bloom from March to April which is the start of the new fiscal year in Japan. As a result of this cherry blossoms have also come to symbolise new beginnings and springtime. Given that feudal Japanese soldiers associated cherry blossoms with honour, discipline, and dignity—falling flowers were thought to be symbolic of a Samurai's death. In Western floriography, cherry blossoms herald the changing of the seasons and symbolise renewal and rebirth. They also symbolise the fleeting nature of life, tenderness, forgiveness, strength, beauty, love, confidence, peace, friendship and gratitude. Rukia Kuchiki presents herself as a cool, restrained and stern warrior with firm convictions, however occasionally she breaks out of her shell and is kind. She tends to keep her emotions to herself, unless she is irritated, and finds it difficult to confide in others. This ties in with the cherry blossom’s meanings of grace, discipline, chastity, honour and dignity. Throughout the series, Rukia is constantly improving herself and growing not only in strength but also in confidence. This complements the cherry blossom’s meanings of confidence, strength, new beginnings, springtime and the changing of the seasons. One of the cornerstones of Bleach's development is the connection between Ichigo and Rukia. Ichigo was able to protect his loved ones and become involved in the affairs of the soul society thanks to Rukia's initial transfer of her abilities to him. Since then, they have often come to each other's rescue and have developed a strong sense of gratitude, admiration, respect, and trust for one another. This ties into the cherry blossom’s meanings of strength, gratitude, friendship and love. Cherry Blossoms also tie into Rukia’s connection with her adopted brother, Byakuya and her sister, Hisana. Upon her death, as she looked at the first cherry blossoms of the season, Hisana asked Byakuya to find and protect Rukia as she regretted abandoning her years ago and felt unworthy of being her sister. This complements the cherry blossom’s meanings of forgiveness, love and the fleeting nature of life.

-> Uryū Ishida: Edelweiss

Edelweiss (Leontopodium nivale) is known as Ēderuwaisu (エーデルワイス) in Japanese. Its meanings in hanakotoba are are courage, power and precious memories. Its name translates from German to mean "noble white". Edelweiss is only found in white-blooming variants, unlike most other flowers. These reasons are the basis for the flower's symbolic connotations in Western floriography, which include innocence, purity, renewal and wishes for peace. The flower also represents integrity, excellence, elegance, noble courage, and boldness. Edelweiss flowers are well-adapted to high-altitude environments with frigid temperatures, harsh sunlight and low oxygen levels and have thus come to represent rugged beauty, strength, nobility, adventure and perseverance. The Edelweiss flower also represents intense devotion, sacrifice, care, and deep love. One of the most well-known stories about the edelweiss is about a young man who, in an act of bravery and love, risks his life to climb a mountain’s steep rocky face to gather edelweiss flowers for a woman. Uryū Ishida is typically reserved, independent, and solitary—however, he tries to act cool when among other people. He has a strong sense of justice and is incredibly intelligent and chivalrous. These attributes greatly complement the Edelweiss’ meanings of integrity, excellence, elegance, boldness and noble courage.

-> Renji Abarai: Sasanqua Camellia

The flower Renji is pictured with is the sasanqua camellia (Camellia sasanqua) which is a species of camellia native to both China and Japan. It is a different species than the camellia pictured with Byakuya Kuchiki in this ending (Camellia Japonica). The Camellia Sasanqua and Camellia Japonica are primarily differentiated by the former’s earlier blooming season (early fall to early winter) as well as its smaller leaves and flowers. In addition to this, Camellia Japonica’s flowers fall whole, while Camellia Sasanqua's petals fall apart. The sasanqua camellia is known as the sazanka (山茶花) in Japan. Its meanings in hanakotoba are dedication and overcoming difficulties. In Japan, red sazanka represents humility and beauty, white sazanka represents charm and rejection and pink sazanka represents eternal love. In Western floriography, the sasanqua camellia represents desire and passion. It is said that the sasanqua's meanings of "overcoming difficulties" and "dedication" are derived from the fact that flowers bloom in early winter when the cold intensifies. Renji Abarai comes across as dynamic, eccentric, brash, and stubborn, yet he is also incredibly dedicated and determined, willing to fight and die for his convictions. This ties in with the sasanqua’s meanings of passion, dedication and overcoming difficulties.

-> Yasutora Sado: Canna Lily

The Canna lily (Canna) is known as kanna (カンナ) in Japan. Its meanings in hanakotoba are passion, cheerfulness, eternity and delusion. In Western floriography, the canna lily holds the meanings of beauty, protection, purification glory, power, hope, confidence and confiding in heaven. The flower also holds the negative connotations of paranoia and suspicion. The vigour and beautiful appearance of its flowers, which can withstand the midsummer sun, are thought to be where its meanings of passion and cheerfulness are derived from. Yasutora Sado is a quiet but incredibly brave, strong, and kind person who is also extremely loyal. These traits tie in with the canna lily’s meanings of passion, power, confidence and protection. Additionally, canna lilies originate from Latin America and tropical Asia and are exotic and vibrant with a rich cultural and symbolic history. This ties in with Sado’s half-Mexican heritage. In mythology, it is said that a demon who was envious of Buddha’s strong spiritual power threw a large boulder down on him from above. However, most of the rock shattered at Buddha’s feet without hitting him with only one fragment hitting his toe. Where the blood from his wound dripped onto the ground, a red canna lily blossomed, and the devil was swallowed by a rift of the earth due to its wrath. This legend is reminiscent of the scene where Sado was struck by a falling steel beam, which fractured but did not injure him as well as one of his fullbring powers, named “Left Arm of the Devil”.

-> Orihime Inoue: Glory-of-the-snow

Glory-of-the-snow (Scilla section Chionodoxa) is known as yukigeyuri (雪解百合) in Japan which translates to “snowmelt lily”. Its meanings in hanakotoba are purity, innocence, hope, modesty and compassion for friendships. It is also considered a sign of spring as it blooms when the snow melts. In Western floriography, it symbolizes glory, camaraderie and toughness. Although she comes out as naive and ditzy, Orihime Inoue is better described as being sensitive, caring, amiable, funny, and optimistic. This strongly complements the glory-of-the-snow’s meanings of purity, innocence, hope and compassion for friendships. Furthermore, the star-shaped, six-petaled flowers of the glory-of-the-snow closely resemble Orihime's flower hairpins that her late older brother had given her.

WHY I DON’T LIKE THE LAST CHAPTER OF BLEACH

It’s because, the characters  I loved and invested in, are all dead.

Yes, older people with their names appear in it, but the persons I grew attached to, are no more.

Everything turned into a telenovela, not that telenovelas are bad, but I dind’t turn to Bleach to see one, ok?

The reason why I give ichime a pass, is because of the dreastic change that a decade produced in me. I’m not the same person I was 10 years ago. I don’t have the same love, the same goals and I’m not where I imagined I would be.

Yes, in ten years alot can happen, and people change their preferences or simply settle as they mature.

But I hate when you go the realistic route suddenly in a work that never really was that way before, where the power of good always triumphs. A cynical world presided over by a cadaver that doesn’t answer prayers or offer any redemption, where sad souls still turn into cannibalistic hollows, where the human world is still a cesspool of evil, disease and inequality, where after you die you get the reword of a few centuries in a medieval Japanese fair, where only power matters. Nobody, nowhere is safe.

Everything, in the construction of the world, except for the characters seems regressed to pre-SS arc levels. Where are the changes that Ichigo has done to a million years of tradition?

What happen during the decade of silence?

And I accept that ichime has its moments. And by moments, I mean friendly interactions, care for one another, and she obviously loved him since puberty hit her.

But as many , and as deep is also the connection between Ichigo and Chad. Ichigo also protects Chad, is worried for him and doesn’t want hi  to fight arrancar .Remember when he goes with Rukia after D-roy, and he comands Chad to go to safety?

He also has moments with Byakuya,  Renji, Ishida, his older boss lady.

But foe some shippers any type of interaction between two characters is a romantic interaction.

I also think that unintentionally he gave Byakuya and Renji almost as many ho-yay moments as he gave het-yay moments to Ichigo and Rukia?

So why the batos , seeing all the moments between Ichigo and Rukia?

What happened in the decade of silence?

Now, he won’t explain how Ichigo and Orihime came togheter, which I would sincerely want to now, he will just rewrite history that they were always together in their hearts, it just took some time for them to admit it.

How about Rukia? When and how did her friendship for Renji transformed into romantic love?

At least Kishimoto, had the common sense to know that the Sakura- Naruto problem had to be addressed, and did it,albeit not very successfully in my opoinionin Naruto, The Last.

The decade of silence, is a gaping wound in the continuity of Bleach.

A large time skip, is rarely justified and even rarely well executed.You know that is well executed when you can see how they could have ended there. When even if older, you recognize the characters. When it’s not a shameful bait for a mediocre sequel. When it gives you the impression that you lived, or can at least imagine the missing years yourself.

Since I had so much fun writing out my ships for Twisted Wonderland I figured I'm going to do the same with Bleach. Because I spent my weekend rereading the last arc. And I've been a fan of the series since day one and I've never talked about it???

So, uh... here we go. Spoilers for the entire series... sort of. I mean... only one of my ships is from the final arc.

Ships that are my OTP/ "They're basically canon in my eyes"

Kyoraku/Ukitake: They have such strong "old gay uncle" energy together and I love it. They're 100% in love in my eyes.

Ikkaku/Yumichika: They're so obviously a couple that it hurts me. Their dynamic! Their trust! Their loyalty towards one another! Top Tier.

Ships that I Really Like (in order of "I strongly ship this" to "I love the possibilities of this dynamic")

Grimmjow/Ichigo: They have that "enemies to sort of allies to begrudgingly accepting one another to dumbasses in love". At least as far as I'm concerned.

Byakuya/Renji: I'm a big sucker for the stoic one who has a soft spot for certain people falling for the wild, loose, passionate one who is a dumbass. Also that one scene in the Soul Society arc where Renji is just waltzing around the Sixth Division wearing a sakura yukata?? Top Tier.

Ulquiorra/Orihime: Yeah, I know he kidnapped her but they have this "beast who suddenly understands human emotions a little because one (1) person decided they're not taking this BS".

Ishida/Chad: I like this because it's Ishida "I over think a lot of things" and Chad "I see things for what they really are". I like that dynamic and think it's cute.

Komamura/Tosen: LISTEN. The moment I found out (all those years ago) they became friends because Tosen doesn't see the barriers Komamura has believed/been told about his entire life, I was sold. That's such a beautiful start to a friendship and it definitely makes me sad that Tosen betrayed Soul Society.

Kensei/Shuhei: I'm just a big fan of "I looked up to you and respected you and now that you're back and I'm an adult my admiration has been exposed as a crush. HELP, what do I do???" vibe.

Ships that I think are fun (in order of "That Definitely happened at least Once" to "That's interesting")

Urahara/Yoruichi: I refuse to believe they didn't experiment with one another at least once. Whether there are actual romantic feelings is up to interpretation.

Yoruichi/Soi Fong: Basically the same idea as Urahara/Yoruichi except Soi Fong is Definitely in Love with Yoruichi. It's cute.

Aizen/Hirako: I've flip flopped on this ship a lot over the years. While I'm not always a fan of it what I AM a fan of is the possibility that Aizen figured out he had a Massive Gay Crush on Hirako and then proceeded to be Extremely Conflicted over it. I just love imagining Aizen with all his little schemes crying in his room because "Captain Hirako is my enemy but he's So Hot I want to Sleep with Him".

Bazz-B/Jugram "Jugo": Look, it's my obligatory "THEY WERE CHILDHOOD FRIENDS" ship. Makes what happens in the manga all the more heartbreaking for me.

Gin/Matsumoto: Another ship that I've flip flopped over the years. I do think there is potential, especially their backstory. I also like the tragic angle this ship can take. But even if I'm not shipping it I do think their interactions/friendship is fascinating.

Gin/Izuru: I'm a huge fan of Gin causing troubles for Izuru and Izuru trying to be responsible for his captain. Then, Gin teases him and Izuru is a Flustered Mess.

Ships that I think are Cute (in order of "That's just sweet" to "I see the appeal")

Hitsugaya/Momo: It's just another case of "they're childhood friends that have a soft, cute dynamic". It's harmless and wholesome in my eyes.

Orihime/Tatsuki: They're just very adorable together and I've always enjoyed their friendship.

Renji/Rukia: I know it's canon but I'm not the biggest fan of it. That being said, I do think they're very cute and their shared backstory makes this pairing cute.

Ships that are just Crack/Make me Laugh

Kenpachi/Byakuya: If I had a nickel every time those two were paired up in a fight against the enemy I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's strange that it's happened twice. Or however that quote goes. This ship is all about "prim, proper one" with "not prim and proper one". I think it's funny.

Szayelaporro/Renji: Their fight was Charged. That's all I'm saying about it.

But what about any OT3s?

Shuhei/Matsumoto/Izuru: I love their dynamic. It's funny and cute. Matsumoto 100% is in charge.

Ichigo/Rukia/Renji: I just think they're Neat and I like the energy they bring to the table.

Ichigo/Byakuya/Renji: Almost didn't add this but then I thought of the chaotic energy Byakuya would have with BOTH Ichigo and Renji and laughed. So this is at the end as an honourable mention.

i think the romance could have been fun but not like this??? like i don’t mind that aoyama initially appears to be a boring and bland person and ichigo wants that but. i need more something to make it appealing???? and while it is trying its not good enough???

i really do like shirogane and keichiirou helping on the sidelines tho

but i’m also like. all these characters feel woefully underdeveloped even if they do change a little over the course of the show

Girl Ghetto Part 1: Power Puff Girls, Disney Princesses, Barbie, Bratz and Magical Girls?! Oh my~!

In the enchanted realm of Disney Princesses, a mysterious portal opens, connecting their world to others. Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel, and Merida find themselves face-to-face with the Powerpuff Girls (Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup) from Townsville.

The Disney Princesses are amazed by the Powerpuff Girlss' superpowers and teamwork. Meanwhile, the Powerpuff Girls are impressed by the princesses' kindness, bravery, and determination. Suddenly, Barbie, the iconic fashionista, appears, followed by the trendy Bratz Girls (Cloe, Sasha, Yasmin, and Jade). The Disney Princesses and Powerpuff Girls are delighted by their new friends' style and confidence.

However, a dark force threatens their combined worlds. Queen Beryl (Sailor Moon) and her minions aim to destroy the portal and rule over the merged realms. The Disney Princesses, Powerpuff Girls, Barbie, and Bratz join forces with Sailor Moon and her friends (Usagi, Ami, Rei, Makoto, and Minako) to stop Queen Beryl.

During the battle, Cardcaptor Sakura and her friend Tomoyo (Cardcaptor Sakura) arrive, using their magical powers to aid the alliance. Tokyo Mew Mew (Ichigo, Mint, Lettuce, Pudding, and Zakuro) also joins the fight, bringing their cute and powerful transformations.

As the final showdown approaches, Magical DoReMi (Doremi, Hazuki, and Oreko) appears, adding their magical skills to the mix. Together, the combined forces of Disney Princesses, Powerpuff Girls, Barbie, Bratz, Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, Tokyo Mew Mew, and Magical DoReMi defeat Queen Beryl and her minions. With the portal restored and peace returned, the heroes celebrate their newfound friendships and shared victories. They realize that their diverse strengths and abilities make them unstoppable when united.

One day, Yuko sends the Briefs & the Sons, to Tokyo, Japan in an entirely different universe—the universe of Tokyo Mew Mew. Fai, Kurogane, & several others have also been sent to the worlds of Tokyo Mew Mew. Someone from each family is in the hospital for different reasons, and that’s where everyone meets. New connections are made. Love & friendships are formed. Of course, there’s also drama—family drama—& cheating.

Sow this when I was reading the first chapter of Once More actually. I quite enjoy it, and will leave a review at the end. One of the most interesting set-ups I have ever seen. Reminds me a bit of trill culture and of my favorite Star Trek character, Jadzia Dax.

Yes , I agree nothing wrong with being a stay at home mother. It wouldn’t be my preference, but there are worst things. What I don’t like is when people say that it should be the norm for all women.

In fiction I have a problem with it when I see girls dreaming about a carrier or five, and ending up housewives. I need to know what changed? Don’t presented just as the normal thing in every case. In a world like Naruto or Bleach, where power is not dived along gender lines I expect more equality or I expect the problem to be addressed.  The author is Japanese, but he isn’t writing about real Japan, but about a world where people have superpowers, and so many things are going to change with that.

I’m also stupefied that people that now for sure that there is an afterlife aren’t more affected by the idea, Naruto-verse I’m looking at you.

Hinata was never made to be a fighter, and I’m glad that she has the life she always wanted. Orihime, we don’t know for sure if she’s a housewife yet, but if she was she will probably be happy,  but I think that with her powers she should advertise herself as a holistic healer or something and help sick people part time. I totally agree, Orihime looks bad because she is show-cased in environments where she shouldn’t be present , Rukia is not as strong as her but she has the training and mental fortitude of a soldier. No dis to Orihime, when she is in her lane she is wonderful and a literal life-saver.

Another thing that I don’t like is that when I see a hausewife in anime, they tend to only be presented as cooking, mothering etc. I want to see them paint, write, do charity work.OR, help their kids train, or teaching them lessons that aren’t about feeling or manners . But I understand your frustration, I hate people that give women the stink eye if they want to have a traditional marriage and stay at home to raise their kids, it’s a perfectly valid choice. Unfortunately, where I’m from women are expected to both work and marry and do all the house-chores and take care of the babies.

You are right, if you’re a fighter be a good one. If you’re a healer be a good healer, if you’re a mother be a good mother.

As specific examples, I think that Rukia was shafted on screen/panel time towards the end, that’s it. A woman doesn’t need to be able to bit all the male cast to be strong. I wish her friendship with Ichigo  was still there by the end of the manga and I wish that Renji and Byakuya apologized on page for the way they treated her in the beginning. That’s it. I like ichiruki more, it’s true but ichiruki romance is not necessary  for me to enjoy Bleach, her husband apologizing for delivering her to be killed is.

Sakura, well the rant is becoming novel length already, but for me she was the female lead most wronged by her author.

I suspect that you, like me consider that the women in Bleach were done dirty. Am I right, and if I am who are the winners of the got -done- dirty competition?

How about in all shonen? Who takes the cake?

And for a Naruto edition, if you know, care and want to respond. Is it Sakura? Is someone else? Is it Kaguya? Is it all of them?

Allow me to prefix this by saying it got very salty towards the end.

The women were treated poorly, but I also maintain that they were written in a different era by another culture whose tastes are entirely foreign to my own. They're entirely not to my tastes. But I also recognize that other female shonen/seinen manga characters have been written extremely well. Among my favourites are the Claymore Claire and Casca from Berserk.

As a personal aside, among my favourite mangas is Claymore, which is a cast comprised about 99% of female characters who are designed to be living weapons. I highly recommend it.

I can't speak for all shonen because I haven't read all shounen but in the categories described, all characters were done dirty in Bleach.

Orihime. Her character was so thoroughly reduced between the anime and the manga. I've read the manga and her first and second act was fantastic. I wish we saw more of that Orihime. She was an absolute delight and one of my favourite parts. But after the Aizen reveal and the arc that followed, she stagnated and sharply took a turn for the worse, to the point where it was extremely clear Kubo was struggling to keep any of his non-Shinigami characters relevant. I have no issue with her become a stay-at-home mother. Motherhood is one of the most important roles in society. Hell I'd happily become one myself when I find the right man.

But to sum up my personal problem with Orihime briefly: she's a gardener in a war. We don't need gardeners in war.

Rukia was the deuteragonist and she got cast by the wayside. She is the catalyst of the manga, she gave Ichigo his powers, invested him with pride in those powers and helped him come back to himself when he was trapped in a spiral.... then she disappears. Her relevance vanishes completely. Made worse by the fact there was a perfect opportunity for a bookending in the last bout against Aizen-Wannbach, but it was abandoned completely for some bollock "Bro" moment between Renji and Ichigo? As if Renji is supposedly as important to him as Chad purportedly is or Rukia actually is?

I will preference my summary of the other female characters by stating outright this is my inner Warhammer 40k fan talking.

The crux of my complaint through the entire story, for Bleach and Naruto, is; you're all meant to be warriors. Soldiers... you are entrusted to protect on pain of death or take lives if demanded of you; will you fucking act like it?

Quirk is all well and good, but can I please have the impression at ANY point that any of you take your jobs seriously? Can we pretend that you possess a level of martial discipline and prowess please?

Aikatsu EPs 1-3

EP 1

The first ever Aikatsu shot. You can really tell that it’s the first season of the franchise.

Considering that it was a freaking one-man live in a stadium, the set list probably had almost 20 songs. Ik Ichigo just had her gay awakening (as Aikatsu protags do) but having to process 20 songs in a row is a lot when you’ve never heard them before.

As if we’d be seeing Kaede or Sakura soon lol.

It’s honestly... interesting that they’ve had Sakura and Kaede’s designs since day 1, but the two of them, especially Kaede, got crumbs in terms of content. Yurika didn’t get much either.

No it’s not. If you aren’t popular enough, then your agency would barely give you any stuff. If you decide to freelance, then you probably wouldn’t have enough budget to do anything you want.

I wonder how expensive the school is. You get in and automatically get a coord and a phone. I also wonder how much of the profit you earn from your activities go to the school itself.

Lately, reading posts about bnha spoilers, I’ve noticed that people are making a little mistake. I’m talking about blaming OP as the main source of the anime/manga falldown. At least- shounen m/a.

Well, let me say this- not really.

As examples, I’ll use three titles, “Fairy Tail”, “Bleach” and “Naruto”.

So, let’s start with the first one, shall we?

(about the Boku no hero Academia I’ll write at the end)

1. FAIRY TAIL - Hiro Mashima, creator of the FT had once said, that he’s not good with creating a big plots. And we could see that. When stories were short, it was funny, clever even and nice to read and watch. But when the whole Zeref problem was on the picture and whole DRAMA? Wellll... 

Biggest problems of FT were:

a) many, many characters that meant nothing

- Fairy Tail is an title with so many characters, that people can’t remember half of their names, but not only because of their number, but because of their lack of existence. Yeah, sure, they are there, but they don’t do ANYTHING important, mainly just waiting for the main hero (or his crew) to rescue them.

They’re just there for to be there and this is really not good. You know that Lisanna won’t do a thing, she’s just there for being pretty. You know that Evergreen won’t be a hero of the day, because there will be bigger shark, like Laxus or Natsu, to bite the enemy.

Even Levy was supposed to be the intelligent one, but in the end she was just a plot device as a damsel in distress and Gajeel’s lover.

b) main character without character development

- Natsu. Just... Natsu. He haven’t changed ALMOST at all. (I’m not saying completly).  Through the whole series, he always was just a loud idiot who liked to fight with strong oponnents and with those who have hurted his friends. I mean, it had it’s charm, but it was leading to nowhere. A breakthrough moment for him was the one, when Gildarts taught him, that he won’t always win. But we never ever see it again. Yeah, was this one time when he decided to leave Sebertooth members alone to be sure that Happy’s ok, but it wasn’t situation about win or lose. Natsu, all alone, was interesting with his problem about dragon and demon seed in him buuut... It get only worse.

c) almost lack of any training of the characters, they were always stronger because plot demanded it

- Like when they were with Spirits in Spirit world, and then learned that “Oh sh*t, we lost our all time for training”, and there was DEUS EX MACHINA, Ultear with “Sure, I can make it up guys”. And BAM! Done! Now we have super powered fairy tail members!

And it was just ugh. Like, no training arc or anything. Yeah, sure, when they were fightiung they were learning and “gaining lvl”, but not drastically.

And then we had power up “because”.

And then time-skip to explain why everyone are super powerfull right now.

And that’s kinda meh.

d) every villain who had tits was on list “to forgive everything what she had done” 

- Do I have to even explain it? Like Minerva. the biggest sadistic jerk of the females in Fairy Tail, who tortured Lucy, had FUN with it and so on. Buuuut why won’t we turn her into and lovely sheep and adopt her, because of her bewbs.

And sad story written on an knee.

e) lack of consequences around choices that main heores have made

- Again, Natsu. People were kinda worried, what’s gonna happen to him! Will he turn into a dragon?! Or a demon?! Or a mix of both?! And what have killed it all?

Igneel: Are you dragon or demon

Natsu: I’m human

WELL DONE, END OF THE PLOT.

Also Zeref had literally fu*ked a kid. Like, the body of Mavis was the one of a little girl. BUT WHO CARES.

Also, many many times characters did something, but it had no meaning whatsoever. Even the big plots, and that’s really nono.

d) Erza as a very bad written OP character

- Erza is an perfect exaple of op character, that is terribly bad written. Like, she’ll always win. She’ll be always the strongest, she’ll have armor for EVERYTHING, she’ll do the thing. I’m surprised that she had no fight with zeref 1v1, she could end the whole series a lot sooner.

Like, seriously, there’s no other character like Erza. She’s just there to win, that her whole plot. And it wasn’t suddenly. She was OP since the beginning till the last fight, and it wasn’t interesting at all. Hiro Mashima had no knowledge about “how to handle an op character”.

SUMMARY:

It wasn’t OP that destroyed Fairy Tail. Those were character, that Mashima-sensei didn’t know how to use, plot devices he had used poorly and lack of consequences and feeling of the real danger. Sure, Erza as OP was also a problem, but not the main source.

SO, NEXT’S BLEACH:

a)  Tite Kubo had continued the series after Karakura Arc.

- It was really good! The end with Ichigo who had lost his powers? Great!  Final Getsuga Tenshou! Zangetsu and Hollow Ichigo merged! Very nice!

And then... yeah. Continuation. We’ve seen that Kubo-sensei had no heart to this anymore. Next Arc after another was worse and worse. 

b) potential of whole Gotei destroyed

- To be honest, whole Gotei was not even as half interesting as Hollows.

Even worse, we had seen whole Gotei from the very bad view for more than a half of the series. Also captains (after KArakura arc) had almost no real meaning. They were just meh.

c) getting tangled up in his[Kubo-sensei] own mistakes

- Like making a hybrid of shinigami-hollow-quincy-human main character, just because shinigami with hollow powers was not enough for the audience.

Or creating a third crowd with bows in white out of nowhere, just for the plot.

Or making Ishida the Sasuke of this series with even more drama than before.

Or creating fullbring just to throw the arc away.

Or just Yhwach. Kubo made him so powerfull, that he had the same problem as Masashi Kishimoto. Had no idea how to kill it. Also, the whole Zangetsu-Yhwach thing was kinda out of... yeah. Just, there were a lot of things that had no sense or were just simply stupid, and that hurts. 

d) problems of Tite Kubo

- As I’ve said before. Tite Kubo had his own problems with Shounen Jump. It became the source of the flaws that Kubo-sensei had made, and we all know it.

SUMMARY:

Actually all of the main flaws are coming from continuation, because really- If Tite Kubo could end the series after Ichigo had lost his powers, then it would be a really great shounen! Buuuut we can see how it went. The biggest problem here was not an OP, the biggest problem was the fact, that Kubo-sensei had the toys, but had no fun with plaing with them, and it’s clearly visible. He drew because he drew, because people had pulled him by the ears

AND THE THIRD ONE, NARUTO:

a) no meaning of side characters

- DON’T BITE ME, I’m not sayin “completly”! there are those like Might Guy, but when we’ll look at Kiba, Temari, Kankuro, Ino and many, many others. They were not as bad written as the ones from Fairy Tail, but also not perfect. They had almost no effect on the “final bosses”, and were out of league, when we look at the golden trio- Sakura, Sasuke and Naruto, who were almost like a gods at the end in comparison to the others.

b) ninjutsu was forgotten

- At first it was amazing. Techniques! Elements! Limited chakra! Kunais were deadly, and bombs and everything that ninja used.

And then they just forgot about all of it, and Made Dragon Naruto Ball Z. There were big effective blasts, and power flowing out of characters, giant beasts who made every shinobi not important [at all] and so on. I’m really glad that Naruto had won with the final boss because of the sexy no jutsu, becase, AT LEAST, it was a jutsu.

c) Madara Uchiha and what to do with it

- As I’ve had written above abour Bleach, I have to repeat myself. Uchiha Madara was the problem, that Kishimoto-sensei had no idea how to solve.

When he was stronger, Naruto had been stronger, and Sasuke to, but there he was even mooooore powerfull, so they also had to and, yeah.

He was just a poorly used plot device.

d) Love out of nowhere

- Let’s talk about Sakura. she did loved Sasuke only because he was cool, and then he tried to kill her, he betrayed the whole village, her and naruto over and over, had treated her as she was a nuisance etc. so what she did at the end? She walked after him so long till he made her pregnant and they’ve got married. Best romance ever. Except it’s not.

Also, Naruto and Hinata. Hinata is a great character, don’t get me wrong, but while she ALWAYS loved Naruto, Naruto never really payed attention to her, and it all was created very rougly and quickly at the end. He was always more focused on Sasuke, and there was also problem with that, because Kishimoto-sensei didn’t knoiw how to show devotion to someone, that’s not as romantic as Naruto’s toward Sasuke. And it’s obvious that it WASN’T INTENTIONALL, it just looks like it looks.

Also, the only one relationship that was builded was the one between Temari and Shikamaru (we can also say about Asuma and Kurenai but it was a really short one). 

And then the final chapter, everyone are married and with kids out of nowhere. Good for them, just, it was really weird.

f) who needs Akatsuki

- Akatsuki was an organization that was purely great as long as it was in the shadow. People were scared of it. It was a really BIG DEAL, and members of it were dangerous. And then in manga, and in shippuuden anime, when they started to show themselves, they... well, died pretty quickly. Also the whole thing about the chief of Acatsuki, Pain, who was in fact only a puppet of Madara... I mean, suddenly Akatsuki became nothing, and it was kinda unnerving.

g) Friendly Tailed Beasts

- Demons. Pet demons. Plushies who need to be understood.

Like, Tailed Beasts were a really interesting creatures, but obiously Friendship no Jutsu of Naruto worked also on them so here it is. Naruto’s Zoo.

Killed potential. There was a chance to show something with power and brutality, but nah, why we should have that? Demons can’t be evil obviously.

SUMMARY:

- “Naruto” is not a bad series. Just have it bigs flaws. But also here, like in Bleach or Fairy Tail, the OP’ness wasn’t the main source of the failure. It was lack of the proportion between main characters and side characters, and Kishimoto-sensei clearly had no idea what to do with his own villains and had really strong problems with creating a relationships. But in the end it wan’t about ninjas anymore, it was Dragon Ball with guy in a tracksuit, and that was the worst one.

SO, DID THE OP-THING DESTROYED THOSE THREE TITLES?

My answer is: nope.

OP characters are totally ok, as long as creator KNOW HOW TO HANDLE THEM. Kuchiki Byakuya from Bleach was an OP character, but still great, Hatake Kakashi from Naruto was an OP character, but also- still great.

Also I want to say, that I don’t hate Fairy Tail, Naruto or Bleach.

I don’t like FT, but with Naruto and Bleach I’m pretty ok. I’m just a person who understand flaws of the title she reads.

SO, ABOUT IZUKU MIDORIYA’S “OP’ness”:

Many have doubts how it’ll turn out, but what I want to say is that Izuku is supposed to defeat All for One, and to become the greatest hero. He have to become powerfull and have more than one trick, so for me 6-7 quirks works.

Also just look at chapter 215. Everyone cried that he can use “black whip” so suddenly, but the price for using it is STRONG PAIN and reduction of One For All limit, that is possible to use (20%). So now, add 5 more an every each with it’s own restriction. Yeah.

Izuku have a lot of strenght, but Todoroki or Bakugou are controlling their powers FAR BETTER than him. Tokoyami too! He still have to catch up, ant to learn a lot of things.

Also, how many quirks does All for One have? Is he invincible? Ofc not.

Also summing my babling:

Izuku’s “op’ness” won’t destroy a thing. Horikoshi-sensei (for now) know how to handle and OP characters.

If there will be a downfall of the series, then there will be a lot of another flaws, not just one to kill it all, so don’t be afraid. Have a faith.

Anime muses:

Ino Yamanaka: I wish people knew that whilst she has gallons of confidence, she does have an insecurity where it comes to her own value in relationships with others. Ino is an extrovert and it tends to feel like no matter how much she exhausts herself for other people, they always leave her when they find something or someone better. Whilst Sakura used the term ‘rivals’ to end their friendship… it was a metaphorical slap to Ino’s time, care, attention and love to have Sakura choose Sasuke over Ino. 

And she loves people, really and truly… but she’s always wondering when they’ll get bored and leave.

Mikoto Uchiha: I head canon her as being Fugaku’s anchor during the tense times with the clan and the village, his oldest son that was drifting further and further away from him and also trying not to neglect his young son… I think Mikoto did a stellar job as a mother and as a wife. She prioritised her family and loved both her sons. I also believe… she thought that as long as Itachi and Sasuke lived… things would be okay for them. Their future was her priority over anything else.

Hiyori Sarugaki: Her terrible violence and anger hides a lot of good traits Hiyori has. Such as her absolutely beautiful loyalty where she refuses to even pull her blade out to attack Kensei. She knows that it isn’t the regular Kensei when he is in his hollow form, but she can’t even bring herself to fight him with her zanpakuto. Imagine Hiyori, who is ready to fight the entire world– won’t turn her blade against a friend that is very much ready and willing to kill her.

Because she doesn’t want to make Kensei into that person. The person that hurt his friend. She respects him so so much.

When Shinji is holding her and she’s struggling to say his name, any coherent thought and reason is fighting the hollowfication - - Ichigo almost strangled Hiyori to death in that form- but Hiyori controls that process long enough to try and warn Shinji. Ask him to let her go.

And the truly awful thing about that scene is when she strikes her friend. That was the one thing she was actually sore about with Aizen. Not being exiled. Not that he stabbed them in the back. It’s that Aizen used her to hurt her friends. That was unforgivable.

Tousen Kaname: He’s… not a bad guy? I don’t know why the fandom hates him. He was never on Soul Society’s side. People think he should just get over the injustice of his friend– but his entire goal in life was to find justice for his friend. He did enjoy his time with Komamura and Hisagi, but he knew this temporary peace was insulting to the memory of his friend. Hypocritical. And Tousen doesn’t want to join a hypocritical society. He’d rather serve Aizen and he believes it to be a fairer society.

Robin: Err… not overlooked?? But I hope people understand that Robin does suffer from depression. She had expressed a desire to die three times almost vocally. However, what is wonderful is that she is smiling much more happily in the manga post time-skip and trusts her friends.

Yugao: … Her entire character is overlooked. T_T I wish people knew she existed and is a badass ANBU chick.

Euphemia: … Often the fandom and the characters in the show treat Euphie like an angel. Yes, she doesn’t discriminate against the Japanese… but Euphie does act very entitled. She is reckless and heads straight into danger without thinking of other people’s jobs/lives. Also, she demands people to love her too. = _ =

Sango: … I’ll forever be salty she ended up with Miroku. Err.. I think Sango really lost her entire sense of what she truly wanted when Naraku started manipulating her and using Kohaku to get under her skin. 

Non-Anime:

V: None to really report… most of the fandom has much better interpretations than me. He is extremely apologetic. Extremely nice.  I guess mine is more… vocally religious?

Andromeda Black: Slytherins are emotional!! Also, she’s the sister of Bellatrix and Narcissa and I love their relationship dynamic. @crucioslut is my awesome Bella ;u;

Mystic Messenger MC: I’m new to rping the MYSMES MC and I think everyone has their own unique ways to rp her. I think we all make her… cheerful and kind, of course? I think my own version, she’s just a very good listener. She allows the boys to come to decisions themselves and trusts them.

Hello~ I am back

I believe it has been approximately three years since I posted anything. I was really tired of the shipping wars and wanted to step back from anime/manga for awhile. I did finish Bleach and Fairy Tail when they both ended. I am currently keeping up with One Piece and Attack on Titan. EDIT: My url was previously k-a-i-z-o-k-u. I changed my url because of my current obsession with ML. Hehe. :) About Naruto: Nothing has really changed my mind about my main ship: NaruSaku. I tried seeing the other side of things, but I still just couldn’t completely wrap my mind around NaruHina and SasuSaku. And you know what? It’s ok! Because people have different perspectives of the story. (Although I totally do not accept NH/SS at all.) What everyone can’t deny is that Naruto and Sakura developed a beautiful friendship and bond. Some of us see that there could have been more, others don’t think it’ll work out. I felt like Naruto and Sakura’s relationship was healthy and they grew together throughout the series. I vowed to never watch The Last or Boruto. To me, what’s the point of continuing something you’re no longer interested in? The best thing is to do what is emotionally healthy for you and just step away from the madness. (And to continue shipping what you love without clashing with others.) I just wish that there was a little more development for NH and overall character development for Hinata. I admit, there was a TINY bit...but not enough to convince me. About Bleach: At first, I was upset about the ending because I shipped IchiRuki. I actually looked back at some explanations of IchiHime and it finally clicked. I did see their relationship progressing throughout the series but I was so biased towards IR that I disregarded all of it. Yes, IR has this sun and moon symbolism but it just wasn’t enough to make it convincing. Yes, Ichigo did want to save Rukia when she was in danger but Orihime was the one who helped him with his decision in whether he wanted to save Rukia or not. IH vowed to protect each other and Ichigo gets more riled up when Orihime is in danger (TLDR version of what I read). Ichigo and Orihime did show mutual affection for each other. Orihime was blatantly obvious but she never forced anything. If anything, she was very supportive and cared for all of her friends. Ichigo’s affection was more subtle. So yes, I have switched from being an IR fan to a IH fan. I still love Ichigo and Rukia’s friendship from start to finish though. (Orihime’s positive attitude is so great and cute tbh. Even though she’s not physically strong, I believe she is emotionally strong and that’s why she is actually really like-able.) It’s the interactions between Ichigo and Orihime that won me over. In the end, it actually did make sense to me. (I apologize to the IR blogs that still follow me. Feel free to unfollow if you don’t want to see IH content.) About Fairy Tail: It was always fanservice-y from the beginning to the end. LOL. So Mashima made the pairings super obvious. Even though it was over the top, the story was overall enjoyable. Gruvia remains as my favorite pairing though because of their gradual development. (Also water and ice duhhhhh.) About One Piece: One Piece was/has never really been about shipping. So I dropped all of my OTPs from there. I don’t really care about the romance anymore, there isn’t much to work with imo. I just want to see Luffy be King of the Pirates and beat everyone up. Although shippers can ship away. :D

About Attack on Titan: Things are so complicated in the manga right now that idc about the shipping. (Although I still like EreMika.) I’m more interested in the plot development. IT’S SO GOOOOOOOOD. UGHHHHHHHH. I’m always on the edge of my seat when I read each chapter. What bums me out is that a chapter is released once a month. T___T I want more. Anyway, the reason I came back was because I still wanted an outlet for “weebing out.” I still enjoy anime/manga and I should probably catch up on some new stuff like My Hero Academia and other good shizzz that I haven’t watched yet. I’m trying to refrain from shipping because I feel like sometimes it takes the joy out of enjoying a series. However, I think I subconsciously ship characters because I’m so used to doing that. xD Oh well.

Rinne Rokudo from Kyoukai no Rinne season 3

This may not popular but I still enjoy it and plus Rinne is the cutest red head I’ve seen 😍

the earlier eps were more slapstick including an introduction of a new character Annette whose is Rinne’s new homeroom teacher and she has a magic peep ball that can see into the future It usually picks up around ep 13 where Rinne finds out the truth about his birth mother who left him when he was still a baby Otome is famous around that world and shes the top shinigami and Sabato’s former wife and Rinne’s mother and also meeting a little girl name Ichigo who can see spirits too.

He first encountered his mother when he was purifying spirits and she was unaware who he was like she doesn’t remember what her own son looks like cause its easy he resembles his father Sabato.

But it was really hurting him that his own mother doesn’t recognize him.

But it turns out Otome was just a shinigami tool created by Sabato only to find her aswell despite him being a playboy and a lowlife he loved Otome and wanted to find her too so he used a tool to find her.

But its revealed the little girl Ichigo was Otome’s reincarnation and she has memories from her past life and of course she remembers her little boy seeing him all grown up since she left him when he was just a baby she regrets that she wasn’t able to raise him only Tamako and his grandfather did and she tells him, Sabato and Sakura who was there on the truth on what happened to her.

after explaining she was reincarnated by accident after a herd dragged her upto the reincarnation wheel after she was trying to get rid of some photos of her so Sabato won’t know the truth that shes only 2 years younger than Tamako.

this part was cute Rinne receiving a pat on the head by his mother for the first time 😍

even after all that she wanted to help her son as much as possible since she regrets not training him either so she tends to help him on jobs so he can get some money for himself like shes giving him his allowance.

His relationship also with Sakura was slowly processing mostly in the final ep of season 3

Matsugo has this obsession with Rinne which Rinne finds creepy he thinks its friendship but even Rinne, Sakura and Tsubasa knows its love.

In the final ep Rinne was invited to Matsugo’s school but he brings Sakura with him and of course Tsubasa tags along so does Renge.

He had to do this challenge walk in a room suppose to based in the underworld due to a greek story he could not turn around Tsubasa, Renge and Rokumon were all kicked out due to them turning around or going ahead leaving Rinne and Sakura left and yea Rinne has a chance but he can’t turn around to see if shes behind him cause if he passes this he’ll get free stir fry at the end.

Matsugo attempts to get rid of Sakura so he can be alone with Rinne in this challenge only until she falls into a pit thats when he steps him Rinne still thinks its Sakura.

This was beyond creepy but Rinne thinks it was Sakura doing this to him which i find cute 😍

but yeah thanks to a mirror he sees whose behind him clinging onto him and yep he throws Matsugo away 😂.

and yes he was disappointed it wasn’t her but Sakura got out from the pit and went back to Rinne.

He was eager to turn around and see if it was her but he can’t but later it wasn’t and throws this creature away and she fell into a put once again.

He wanted to see where she was but he chose with stir fry or sakura but he turned so obviously he turned around so yeah he chose Sakura and went back to find her.

But hes seeing other couples ended up hating each other during this challenge mostly the girls and hes thinking Sakura might be angry with him thats the last thing hes worried about he doesn’t want Sakura to hate him.

He saw she was in a pit near the exit he helped her out and yes he blushed and relief shes not mad at him cause he came back for her 😍 but yea at the end he got disqualified for turning around.

In the final part he and Sakura were having a picnic we got abit of development between them and judging from this face it looked it he was about to confess to Sakura only till he got interrupted 😒
