Oscar's Pokemon
Oscar Piastri seeks his luck as a Coordinator, rather than pursuing the Gym Challenge. That means he's competing in Pokemon Contests, where the appearance of his Pokemon and their ability to captivate the audience will be tested, as well as their battling capabilities.
Dawn the Umbreon, ability: Synchronize
Dark Pulse
Shadow Ball
Thunder Wave
Moonlight
Oscar's first Pokemon he evolved from an Eevee. Dawn is strictly for the Performance Stage of Contests, meaning she is not trained for traditional battling at all. Oscar is very protective of her and often had to tell people off who wanted to battle her even after Oscar said no.
Rowlet, ability: Overgrow
Razor Leaf
Shadow Sneak
Aerial Ace
Synthesis
A new addition to the team, Rowlet is doing his best to improve his performance during the Performance Stage. Does not like battling and would rather nap all day.
Lapras, ability: Water Absorb
Icy Wind
Water Pulse
Hyper Voice
Sing
Lapras is a gentle soul and is at her peak during the Performance Stage. However, Oscar specifically trained her to de-escalate conflicts, using a combination of Sing and Icy Wind to calm down opponents.
Mawile, ability: Intimidate
Iron Head
Play Rough
Crunch
Psychic Fangs
Just like Oscar, she looks cute and unassuming but isn't to be underestimated! She packs a mean punch, which is why she's the designated battler of the team. She shines best during the Battle Stage of Contests.
Pancham, ability: Iron Fist
Drain Punch
Ice Punch
Fire Punch
Thunder Punch
Battler in training. He tries to be intimidating but fails miserably. The audience love him for exactly this quality.
Komala, ability: Comatose
Yawn
Wish
Protect
Return
He's moral support. Likes to sleep on the sidelines and cheer on the team in his own special way. Can often be found cuddling with Oscar and Rowlet, all of them napping quite peacefully.
Thank you for @nikaf1 for making me remember Rowlet and for the Pancham addition :D

is it me or .... are people just more reluctant to follow blogs now? or maybe the RPC is just not as big as it once was and it feels that way? now, i'm not saying this is a bad thing -- after all, ppl are def free to have their boundaries and choose to write with whoever. but... i am noticing it's way harder to new blogs o' mine to gain traction. like i have blogs that practically "fail" just because nobody rly wants to interact with 'em or follow me back. HELL, when i started this blog, it actually took 3 months before i started getting new followers. for those 3 months, i only wrote with like 3 other ppl and those were friends or followers of my prev blog. and it's not a reaching out prob because like, i ACTUALLY did follow others and either never got any follow backs, or got a declined message (which that's fine too) and now this blog has a fairly good amount of followers.
but like i've had blogs that i've given up on or practically gave up on BECAUSE i have barely anyone to write with. usually it's my more niche muses with no rp scene. but like why i think this must be a new thing is because i was actually looking through my old RP graphics and i found some from a blog that was around 2016. it was another niche muse from a very old show (liek 1960s) and liek that fandom ALSO had no rp scene yet i had a "follow forever" graphic for reaching 200 followers???? that was so long ago that i don't remember much on that blog, but to see i had that many followers is just surprising. that's liek half the followers i have here.
and it just makes me wonder if people have just become more reluctant? more reluctant to follow and more reluctant to get out of "comfort zones" and write with characters they're not as familiar with? which again! is ok. if somebody wants to keep writing with characters they know, that's fine. but it does get a lil disappointing when you have ideas and they virtually go nowhere due to disinterest. it also just makes me wonder why things seem to have changed. is it due to how toxic the rpc became? is it bc the rpc in general is less active? is it because ppl just decide to stick to familiar canons / ocs 'cos that's more fun to them? hmm.
i guess to end this on a final note is that... personally, i care about muses but i don't care about them at the same time. like the whole reason i LOVE RPing and why i did it in the first place isn't to write with certain characters, it's to place my silly blorbos into situations -- it doesn't matter WHAT situation it is. it doesn't matter if we're doing "tails gets trolled" style rps and crossovers. my goal is to have batshit insane fun with other people. that's why i do follow muses from canons i've never heard of. it's also why i struggle to fill in interest checkers or when a mutli asks "what muse do you wanna write with?" because frankly? i'd be happy to write with ANY muse. like you can throw any muse at me, and i'm happy. oc? canon? niche canon? unfamiliar canon? i want it all.

Thank you for tagging me, @juniperhillpatient! You know how we fic writers always enjoy an opportunity to talk about ourselves and our writing! 😉
20 Questions For Fic Writers
1. How many works do you have on Ao3? 15
2. What’s your total Ao3 word count? 3,355,310
3. What fandoms do you write for? Avatar: The Last Airbender for the past few years, but I have also written for Life Is Strange, Dragon Age, Mass Effect and Baldur’s Gate fandoms.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
1. the burning ring – I guess not surprising because it’s the oldest of my azutara stories, and also it’s set in the canon-verse, which always gets more clicks than any AU. 2. the white lotus gambit – my ATLA Pai Sho modern AU story. I’m actually quite surprised that this story did so well because I expected it to have very niche interest, I mean who really cares about kids playing Pai Sho… but it was about so much more than Pai Sho. 3. Azula’s kitchen nightmares – shockingly my current WIP is already up to third place in this metric, which really blows me away because I haven’t been posting it *that* long. But I’m happy that readers have resonated so well with this kitchen nightmares inspired wild weirdness. 4. The raging maelstrom – one of my zutara stories, but with a very dark katara and rather bittersweet ending. I don’t really think about this story anymore, but like… it’s still there, I guess. 5. The pit of snakes – sequel to the burning ring, enough said 😊
5. Do you respond to comments? Yes, almost always, unless someone is just being rude then I will just freeze the thread and ignore them. Or if someone comments on a story that’s like 5 years old and I can’t figure out a way to respond because I have forgotten what the story was about. Also, I don’t plan to ever disable guest comments.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? From fics currently posted on Ao3, I guess that would be the raging maelstrom. Katara sacrifices herself at the end because she sees it as the only way to atone for some of the awful mistakes she’s made, so that’s a bittersweet ending at best. I have a Dragon Age fic of 4 short chapters on ffn that’s way angstier, though. It’s called the price of immortality, and it involves my blood mage Warden sequestering herself away in Warden’s Keep together with her lover and requesting a bunch of prisoners be sent to her from Denerim. It’s all a part of an experiment to attain immortality by brewing a potion from lyrium, Andraste’s ashes and the blood extracted from the prisoners. However, she runs out of prisoners just before attaining her goal. Care to guess what happens to Zevran (her lover)? Yeah, turns out price of immortality is sacrificing your humanity and going batshit insane.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Eh, most of my fics have very happy endings, certainly the Azutara ones. Personally, my favorite is probably the once in a blue moon ending (WLG sequel), because it was from an unexpected POV and set 30 years in the future, and I liked how it allowed me to celebrate the accomplishments of all the main characters. It’s just too bad that not many people saw it.
8. Do you get hate on fics? not really. I got a lot of hate on the raging maelstrom, because there are some zutara fanatics who really hate anyone writing toxic zutara. They see it as secret kataang supporters undermining the validity of their ship. I’m glad that Azutara fandom appears saner, although that’s probably just because we're fewer lmao.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Occasionally. I used to write either F/M or F/F, but if I were to write smut again it would surely be all F/F. I just have very inconsistent mood when it comes to smut. Sometimes I like to include it, but for a while now I just haven’t felt any real urge to write anything smutty.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? Yeah, I write fusion fics which is just transplanting the characters of one property into the setting of another property, where they replace the characters of that setting. I’m not sure I have written a proper crossover according to its definition.
11. there is no question 11 apparently 😊
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Someone once started translating my Mass Effect fanfics into French. I thought they were insane to even try, and they gave up after like 3 chapters.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Not really, I’m not sure that would suit me well, creatively I work better on my own.
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship? Well, I can’t really say Azutara because I’ve been writing fanfic for a very long time, and they have been my focus for only the past 3 or so years, but lately, certainly they have been at the center of everything I write.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I don’t have anything like that. If I want to finish something, then I just do it.
16. What are your writing strengths? I have no idea, honestly. I guess I’m good at writing banter? I like to think I’m reasonably versatile and there’s nothing I’m amazingly good at, but also nothing I’m painfully bad with. My stories usually have a little bit of everything.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? I know I’m bad at writing action scenes, but it’s just so hard to motivate myself to apply greater effort when action really bores me. Sometimes I also struggle with descriptions and setting the scene, just because English is not my native language and it can sometimes be hard to find words to properly describe what I envision.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? Well, I sort of did that for my Mass Effect fic, even if it was just a Russian admiral running around screaming ‘Suka Blyat!’ XD I don’t know, there’s a time and place for it, I guess.
19. First fandom you wrote for? Baldur’s Gate 2. Really showing my age there *cry*
20. Favourite fic you’ve written? oh that’s so hard to choose. Like, the amount of plotting and research that went into White Lotus Gambit was… a lot, and I loved the result. But then again, the effort to make the ATLA characters fit into the Life Is Strange universe, the crazy amount of very detailed outlining done for that fic, and the crazy codependent Azutara… yeah, I would have to say it’s corners of the world our mere prologue

20 questions for fic writers
I was tagged by @clueless-mp4 (thank you!!!) to answer some questions about my fic writing, this might get a little repetetive as I only currently have one published work, but it gives me a chance to talk a little bit about Vampire Fic which I am always excited to do.
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Currently 2, soon to be 3!
2. What's your total A03 word count?
Currently 98k, soon to be 200k (approximately).
3. What fandoms do you write for? BBC Sherlock and its adjacents (Holmes canon and of course BBC Dracula)
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
From a Drop of Water sweep by default!!!
Truly though I am still so touched by the response to that story, it has been beyond anything I ever expected and I am so grateful to have written something that resonated with so many people.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do! I get so much joy out of going through my comments, and I try to take the time to respond to anyone who was kind enough to tell me that they enjoyed my writing.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I'm a big fan of angst with a happy ending. That said, if you've seen Dracula, you know to expect there to be something bittersweet about the ending of The Stories in Our Veins
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
From a Drop of Water was and is pure wish fulfillment on all accounts.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not yet *knock on wood* which has been a delightful change of pace.
9. Do you write smut?
The vampire fic has exactly one (1) sex scene.
10. Do you write crossovers?
I am currently! But does it really count as a crossover when two stories were meant to be connected? (Yeah I think so).
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes, From a Drop of Water has been translated into Mandarin and Russian which is so so cool to me.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not exactly, though when working on the early stages of From a Drop of Water, I solicited a lot of feedback from my beta readers, and I would say the feedback @novaviis offered in particular played a huge role in why that story turned out as well as it did! I definitely appreciated all the help while I was still so new to building a story.
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
Holmes and Watson forever and always, amen.
15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Thankfully none at this stage, though as you can imagine in a writing process as long as the one for The Stories in Our Veins has been there have been several points where I have despaired of it ever actually getting done.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think my strongest suit is planning out the subtextual language of a story and weaving in references that create interplay between my work and the source text. I've also gained a lot of structural practice with this current story and I think I'm getting pretty good at it! My most niche talent is the written montage, love connecting all the little clues together at the end!!!
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Prose itself, particularly descriptions, though I'd say I'm getting better at both with practice. I also have certain words that I mix up with other words that I cannot for the life of me ever keep straight (homophones are the bane of my existence) so I have to be really careful to search those out, and even then my beta readers still find ones I miss!!!
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I don't think I would do it unless I spoke the language myself, I'd be too worried about getting something wrong.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Actually, I did write one Alice centered one shot for the Twilight fandom back when I was like... 13. I don't think I ever deleted it so it probably still exists out on the internet somewhere, though I have no idea what I might have named that account so have no way of finding it.
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
Not to oversell it, but I really adore The Stories in Our Veins, and I'm very proud of how it's turning out. I think it's better than From a Drop of Water in just about every way, though I recognize that a crossover with a TV show that only 12 people care about is going to have a lot less of a broad appeal than a TJLC slanted re-imagining of series 4. If you do end up reading it anyway, know that you have my undying gratitude!
I'm tagging @novaviis, @minotaurmutual and @teledild0nix!

19 Questions Meme
Supposed to be 20 questions, but one seems to have vanished along the way. Thank you to @spiced-wine-fic for tagging me.
1. How many works do you have on Ao3? 120, though some of those are moodboards instead of fic.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count? 492,336 words. I'm not prolific.
3. What fandoms do you write for? Star Wars, in the Kanan comics niche of the Rebels subfandom but I also work in rather a lot of Prequels-related material and I love the JFO/Survivor era. I also wrote a lot in the Tolkien fandom, Silmarillion side, but I'm only dipping my toes into the fandom at the moment and I'm not sure I'll return in depth.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
I am not the world's biggest fan of sorting by kudos; kudos doesn't mean best, it simply means popular. And often in the case of AO3, it means "in a popular fandom" so it skews results. There are plenty of fantastic fics that don't have a lot of kudos. And just because they're in the top-5 doesn't mean the author thinks they're their best works.
I'll step off my soapbox now. In order from most to least: To Remake the Universe (MCU), In Deep or In Darkness (MCU-Young Wizards crossover), Never Discussed But Silently Acknowledged (Star Wars), An Unexpected Welcome (Tolkien), Evolving Roles (Star Wars).
5. Do you respond to comments? Always. On one level, it's simply polite to say "thank you" to compliments. On an entirely different level, commenting on fics was how I found fandom friends, especially in my early years in fandom.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? The one where I killed (BBC) Merlin.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? *shrugs* I mostly write happy endings. Readers' choice of which is the happiest.
8. Do you get hate on fics? A few times. I'm generally able to laugh about it now. There are a couple of hate comments I find truly hilarious.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Nope.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? Love 'em. I write a lot of Star Wars-Tolkien crossovers. I have no idea which one people would think is the most out there.
11. Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes. The two I know of are on AO3 but there have been a handful of others over the years that people asked if they could translate and I have no idea if they ever were, where they were posted, or (at this end of time) even what stories they were.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before? A fic, no, but for a bit, I co-wrote a short-lived series.
13. What’s your all time favorite ship? Elrond/Celebrían for Tolkien. For Star Wars, Han/Leia and Padme/Anakin. Favorite noncanon Star Wars is Owen/Beru/Obi-Wan.
14. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? ...So I posted a WIP a couple of weeks ago. It is the only WIP I've posted because my policy is to only post completed fics. I'd hoped that I'd get some encouragement to write more but I'm honestly not sure anyone realized it was a WIP because I didn't get encouragement to continue or a single "looking forward to more!" type of comment. I lost the little bit of enthusiasm I had because I'd been stalled on the fic for a while (I began writing it in fall 2020!) and it really feels like I could walk away from it and no one would care.
15. What are your writing strengths? I am sadly the type of writer who has a hard time seeing her strengths.
16. What are your writing weaknesses? Description is my go-too weakness. You can probably add writing romance to this.
17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I prefer not to except for dramatic effect. I'm, for better or worse, monolingual. And I refuse to learn conlangs just to read a fic. If there's too much dialogue in a conlang, I'll hit the back button.
18. First fandom you wrote for? Mutant X.
19. Favourite fic you’ve written? I don't have an answer for that. Or at least a permanent one; there's a handful of fics that rotate through that position depending on mood, time of day, opinion toward the fandom, etc.

Idea: Crossover/AU where Chloe Bourgeois gets on the Infinity Train and joins the Apex
Idk how niche this is, but I just had a thought once a little bit of my old and slightly older brainrots came back to haunt me: Chloe Bourgeois and Infinity Train, more specifically book 3. Since I have been grasping at creative straws for 2 months, here are a few bullet points/ideas that I may work with later. Big maybe, this newfound motivation might die tomorrow lol. Either way, hope you few people who find this interesting enjoy!
Also mlb season 5 spoilers I think? I dunno I just kind of read episode summaries now I have no idea what season we're on.
Imagine if at 15, Chloe Bourgeois unknowingly escapes to the train right before she was forced to live with her mother, but instead of going on a journey of self discovery, she has the 'fortune' in bumping into the Apex instead.
(oh also while all of this is very found family like, I acknowledge that under the surface these are still three flawed extremely traumatized kids feeding into each others problems and creating/building a cult that kills denizens/destroys cars, like that's all still happening in the background of this LMAO)
When the crying teenager is brought into the mall by the few younger members of the group, it's more of the same for Grace and Simon, and the normal Apex welcomes begin.
Nobody really realizes or cares who Chloe is, due to their ages when boarding the train. It would bother her on a normal day, but given everything that has happened prior to boarding, it kind of sends her spiraling into more crying/anger.
While Simon is in no mood for it, Grace goes into full damage control mode, comforting and leaving her alone in one of the nicer areas of the mall car so she can fully calm down.
Simon is annoyed by it, but Grace plays it off as playing the long game so to speak in order to get Chloe to join. It's a half truth, as she feels empathy for Chloe after hearing a small bit of the events leading to the train picking her up. (mainly that someone left her, bringing up memories of Grace's first time meeting Simon)
Speaking of empathy, this is dialed up to an eleven when Grace gets to know her better, and finds out about her kind of similar living situation (neglectful parents) and her history of friends/conflict at school (she doesn't really go into the whole superhero thing because she feels like it would take attention off her. Besides, they don't seem to know or care much about what's going on outside anyway)
Now friends, Grace decides to take Chloe to her first car raid with just her and Simon. Chloe goes along with it to both get her anger out on something and impress her new friend. I'd expect they'd hit an 'easy' car first, like the cube car from Book 2.
Simon is now annoyed and jealous now that Grace is giving more of her attention to someone else, but after the car is thoroughly destroyed Chloe gives more information on how she got onto the train. As soon as she mentions being essentially abandoned and replaced by her father, he empathizes with her immediately and actually gets pissed off for her as well (Brought to you by Samantha fueled abandonment issues). They bond over the trash talking of her dad, and they become official friends soon after.
With Chloe fully on their side (and their friendship growing fast), they finally decide to tell her about what the Apex is all about. Full theatrics, conductor and everything.
Knowing the crazy stuff that happened in Paris on a daily basis (which is only reaffirmed by the train), she doesn't doubt the existence of the Conductor, but has reservations about his godlike status among the group ("Are you serious? That thing is probably just a glorified sentimonster!"). However, she keeps these to herself, as she deep down, she doesn't want them to abandon her.
What she lacks in 'belief', she makes up for in fierce loyalty. The only thing Chloe has to her name now is her found family The Apex, and she's not just gonna lose that, no matter how many nulls have to pay. Besides, just because she doesn't believe in the Conductor's power, doesn't mean that she isn't greatly invested in beating the train...
(Oh also, a little bonus. Depending on if the headcanon/theory is true, I'd imagine Simon and Chloe would speak to each other in French on occasion to mess with Grace.)
#It was just a passing thought until I realized it would fit nicely within the suspected timelines of both shows.#Chloe Grace and Simon are all around the same age according to both wikis#Miraculous is still stuck in 2015ish while book 3 took place in/around 2020#sorry if any of the lore is off I'm rusty with Infinity train and EXTREMELY rusty with miraculous#This is kind of a exercise/idea dump to get myself writing again#mlb season 5 spoilers#idk is that a thing still? I don't even watch miraculous anymore I just read the synopsis/watch clips lolol#infinity train#miraculous ladybug#chloe bourgeois#grace monroe#simon laurent

20 questions for fic writers
tagged by @silurisanguine so let's see...
1) How many works do you have on AO3
65 (across multiple accounts)
2) What's your total AO3 word count?
819,102 (across multiple accounts) (also some of those are collab fics so I can't take full credit)
3) What fandoms do you write for?
Lately not much, but previously - in reverse chronological order; Arcane, Oxenfree, Dead By Daylight, We Know the Devil, Assassin's Creed (Syndicate), Dishonored, Life With Derek, HP
4) Top five fics by kudos?
A Helping Hand, Scandal, Denial, Brute, Night Blooming Flowers
5) Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
In the past I'd say "i reply to every comment" but that's somewhat dependent on my mental state and there's a bunch I haven't replied to lately, but I do try to (eventually) reply to every single comment. I love comments more than anything tbh, which is probably why my top stats tend to be comments, cause i LOVE LOVE LOVE having conversations with readers and getting to fangirl with them ahaha
6) What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I mean I don't have that many finished multichap fics. If we're talking pre-ao3 I had a super duper angsty hp fic i wrote in like elementary or middle school lmao
7) What’s the fic you write with the happiest ending?
Again, I don't have that many finished multichap fics, and most of my fics have a happy or bittersweet ending. Maybe So It Goes?
8) Do you get hate on fics?
I'll be honest, I feel like I probably have but I do not remember it. I mean, I know I get blocked by people who hate some of my ships (jonalex, emsider, reader ships etc), but if I've ever received hate (which I am like 90% sure I have) I do not remember what it was for. Seriously, hate just goes in one ear out the other I do not recall what it was for because I literally do not care enough to remember lol
9) Do you write smut?
For sure.
10) Do you write crossovers?
Not really? Not lately at least, though I've done some aus inspired by other works.
11) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of, but I don't really check anywhere
12) Have you ever had a fic translated?
Someone asked me if they could translate something and said go for it, but I don't know where that is.
13) Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Several. I do a lot of rp fics.
14) What’s your all-time favourite ship?
I cannot choose. Lots of ships with my OCs, but i guess for canon-only, maybe jonalex? But i'm indecisive, I don't want to pick one lmao
15) What’s the WIP you hope to finish but doubt you ever will?
Oof. Too many. I'm so bad at finishing things. Unwilling Survivor and Holy Spirits and A Helping Hand are all big projects that I want to finish but I have no idea how that will happen.
16) What are your writing strengths?
I'm so bad at analyzing my own writings tbh. Maybe visceral emotion? Not sure, but I do love yearning and anxiety and metaphor.
17) What are your writing weaknesses?
Oh, finishing things. 100%.
18) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I prefer to write around using a translator ('they said in [x language]' or 'it sounded something along the lines of [meaning of translated words] but their [language] wasn't great' etc) so I don't have to worry about sounding garbled, or I ask for help
19) First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter in 3rd grade lmao
20) Favourite fic you’ve ever written?
I cannot possibly choose. I love anything with Sam in it (so all of the au stuff I've done with her, as well as Unwilling Survivor), I love my jonalex stuff (including Lucky in Love, which I think is such a niche au of an au that I tagged it as original fiction as well lmao), and of course A Helping Hand has to be in there, and might as well include the fae au for emsider and the xreader for acs, and any jonalex i wrote with hammie, and and and-- basically everything lmao, I can't pick favorites.
tagging: @h4mm132l1c3 @artabria @reddgiant @cognacandlilac @artemis-crimson and anyone else that wants to do it, I feel like a lot of people have done it already and i tried to pick people from a variety of fandoms

fic writer questions
tagged by @fireandiceland :D
1.) How many works do you have on AO3
19... it was 39 but I had a major self-loathing moment
2.) What’s your total AO3 count?
word count? 166,516
3.) How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
if you mean currently on AO3? just Hetalia. If you mean only on AO3 ever: Kuroshitsuji, Hyouteki no Finder, BotW, and Hetalia
In total through my whole life uhhh >.> a few more than that
4.) What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Thief of Spades Season One
Thief of Spades Season Two
Trust
If It's You
Desperate Measures
5.) What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
It's gonna be between Last Hurrah and Payback probably... Payback probably wins just because it is incredibly bleak
6.) What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Uhhhh hmmm I mean I'd say everything else that's finished they're all about equally happy. I write most fics with the intention of reaching a happy ending that feels earned. From most contrast between the rest of the fic and the ending, I'd say An Impossible Situation
7.) Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?
Nah, I'm not interested in crossovers.
8.) Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Oh yeah. What else is there? XD I hope I write *good* smut. After Kuro, I think was really uptight about it and trying to be "clean," but I've loosened up on that a lot and I think it has greatly improved the quality of the smut I write.
I think I have a slight reputation for adding BDSM elements and of course there's my super hardcore kink of writing scenarios where everything is consensual and all parties involved care about and respect each other. It's pretty intense, pretty niche, not a lot of people are into it. LOL As for gender/sexuality >.> who really cares about that kind of thing nowadays?
I also primarily write UKUS, which many people find extremely offensive. 🤣 IT'S A JOKE!
9.) Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
I used to forget, but I try to do so consistently now because it shows my appreciation because I really like getting comments.
10.) Have you ever received hate on a fic?
EEEEEEYUP.
11.) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge
12.) Have you ever had a fic translated?
I have! :D I consider it to be quite an honor ^-^
13.) Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes. A long time ago.
14.) What’s your all time favorite ship?
USUK/UKUS. Nothing else even comes close.
15.) What’s a WIP that you want to finish but you don’t think you ever will?
T_T so many, but mainly Technicolor Heart. I just really like the concept, but that fic would have been soooooooo angsty..... also I don't wanna get ... fuckin.... run off of tumblr.
16.) What are your writing strengths?
Pacing. I know I just have a sense of how a story should progress so that everything feels earned but there's minimal to no dragging. I get told people like my characterizations a lot which is nice ^-^ also my prose is pretty nuanced, but I don't count that as a strength because I think most people don't even notice.
17.) What are your writing weaknesses?
>.> speed. or lack thereof. I can't write action scenes, which dramatically altered the direction of Thief of Spades in particular. I don't have a beta so there's always typos I'm catching months after posting P: I struggle with description/creating atmosphere using sensory info.
18.) What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in fic?
I agree with Riva that salutations or endearments are fine, but writing whole scenes that way comes across as pretentious and annoying. Not to mention it can just be really confusing. Write in the language of your audience, it's basically just that simple.
19.) What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Pffff. As if I'd say it in public smh. I'll spare 11/12 y/o me the indignity
20.) What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
Uhhhh hmmm
I mean the Thief of Spades series is always going to have a very special place in my heart but writing something that long with that much plot over such a long time, there's a lot of things about it I wish I could change.
In terms of canonverse type stuff, I love The Shape of Modern Imperialism. For shameless self-indulgence I think Three-Part Harmony is best. But I actually worked really hard on Precious Thing and I'm still quite proud of it.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes! I love responding. People take the time to say something and I love talking about my work and stuff. It's fun and I think makes the reading experience a lot more dynamic if that makes sense. As a commenter I also really like hearing back from authors, it's a lot of fun!
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
. . . . Oh we all know. Haunted Deep (iykyk) I never link that fic so if you wanna find it you have to go digging :P
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Umm probably Suffer Love, that or One Fated Thread(soulmates will make for a pretty sappy ending)
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Had one person take personal issue with George's characterization in Unsought is Better, but they still demanded updates ahead of schedule(blocked). Seen a few things on Twitter and one anon, but I really don't care.
9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?
I do. I have written omegaverse and monster smut. It's a work in progress I'd say, I like to try to ruin smut with emotions that's my M.O lol

Nope
13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Nope
14. What's your all-time favourite ship
Destiel until the end of time!!! Sorry I love dnf too but the angel that changed the course of the entire universe for one man is more important. But yeah DNF, also Samifer, Daemon/Rhaenyra, Power/Annie(my beloved Aurelian Cycle ship) also Will/Emma Swan(literally never gets old)
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
None, I am a completionist to a fault. Now you have to be nice to me if you want to see the finished work, but I finish all my shit.
16. What are your writing strengths?
You all better tell me, the only thing I know I'm good at is angst.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Smut, sometimes I feel very shaky on characterization for some characters, and fluff(I am trying my best here people I promise)
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Don't see the point, unless the character can't speak the language and doesn't understand also, but then just say they can't understand. I don't see the point unless it's elvish in LOTR I need that shit.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Wheel of Time/Supernatural. It was almost simultaneous. I gained access to Tumblr and went wild.
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
I hate it till it's done, but it will be I'd Lie, until then Suffer Love gets the top spot
Thanks for tagging me, Scoops and Vesp! This was fun! Scoops tagged most people I would have, and I am very tired, so if you see this and want to play consider yourself tagged!

The tenth doctor, for the character ask :)
Oh, this is a good one! :)
My first impression of Ten was pretty much my first impression of any newly regenerated Doctor: "But... he's not the same :(" I think there's a natural grieving process where the viewer has to adjust alongside the Doctor and any companions that stay by his side. I loved Nine, and losing him was like losing a friend. I was hurt and confused alongside Rose. But as soon as the scene with the pajamas and the apple in the dressing gown happened, I was like, "Okay, this guy's got real Doctor energy." When the Lion King bit happened, I was SOLD.
My impression now is that he is one of my favorite iterations of the Doctor -- though let me also say that to me, the Doctor is the Doctor. He (or she, though I haven't had a chance to watch the new seasons yet) is the same character, and I don't like to play favorites. But there are definitely portrayals and characteristics that I prefer. Anyway. He's so multi-faceted -- he can be intense and brooding, silly and disarming, cold and furious, lighthearted and charming. And it all combines to create a character who is so complex -- hurting, filled with guilt, wanting to love but afraid to move on from his past, forgiving but only to a certain point because he's seen too much. A fierce, fierce friend. A terrifying enemy. ... And his hair, amiright??
I positively cannot pick one favorite moment with Ten. A few off the top of my head: (1) His joyful glee during the whole Agatha Christie episode, (2) His descent into his worst nightmare as he tries to keep a hold on the situation in "Midnight," (3) "I'm the Doctor, and I just snogged Madame de Pompadour!", (4) The conversation with Wilf in the spaceship -- "I'd be proud if you were my dad." Actually any of his interactions with Wilf, (5) "Barefoot on the moon!" And there are so, so many more. These aren't necessarily my top 5 either, they're just the ones that popped into my head. Every moment he's on screen, honestly, is just incredible.
Okay, so this story idea I have is one that is just in my brain right now, but I plan to write it soon. It's very niche, as it's a crossover, and it doesn't directly involve the Doctor. It's a crossover with the horror podcast The Magnus Archives. If you're unfamiliar, TMA is about an archive that records and catalogs accounts of supernatural encounters and it has a lot of thematic parallels with DW. It turns into SO MUCH MORE, but I won't spoil anything here. The premise is that after Donna says no to traveling with the Doctor the first time, she regrets it instantly (as we know) and ends up trying anything to track him down -- including going to The Magnus Archives and making a statement, hoping someone can help her find him. She obviously will not be a happy customer when she finds out the way they operate, but that's half the fun. The story would be in the format of a statement. This isn't a story directly involving Ten (at least in the beginning) but hopefully this still counts. It's the only Ten era story in my head right now! :)
My unpopular opinion (and I think this really is unpopular, not the kind of "unpopular" that a lot of people agree with) has to do with his companions rather than the Doctor directly, but... I don't like Martha Jones. While I admire her independence and the way that she doesn't let the Doctor get away with anything, I find her personality to be grating sometimes. Of course, she has her good moments, but overall she just irritates me. Particularly the way she does the Doctor when she leaves him. I totally get that she wants to take care of her family. That's admirable. She should do that. But that whole turning around and tacking on that she's leaving because she likes the Doctor and he doesn't like her and apparently that's HIS fault? Especially after all he's just suffered? It just feels selfish. The Doctor never claimed he loved her. Never gave her any indication that he liked her in that way. And yet she seems to feel entitled to that kind of attention. This is just my opinion, though, and I do totally understand that it's unpopular. Donna is bar-none the best companion Ten had. Which leads me to...
Ten and Donna's relationship is my favorite. Tennant and Tate have such a great dynamic on and off screen, and on stage (their Much Ado About Nothing is perfection). Their exchanges and jabs at each other always make me laugh, but they also so genuinely care about each other. Donna's abrasive personality both conflicts with and compliment's the Doctor's own personality, and they fit so well as friends. This is why Donna's end on the show is so utterly painful, the worst for me, perhaps (except maybe for Bill's, because that was SERIOUSLY messed up). But right up there with Donna is Wilf. His relationship with the Doctor is FOOD FOR MY DADDY ISSUE ANGST RIDDEN CLOSURE SEEKING SOUL.
My favorite headcanon is a super simple one, and it does extend into Eleven's timeline. I hc so hard that Ten visits Wilf far more often than we see in the show, even after Donna forgets. Sometimes they talk -- about alien life, about Wilf's time in the war, about how Sylvia's driving him mad, about Donna. Sometimes they drink tea in silence. And I think this continues even after Ten regenerates, at least for one last time. Eleven refuses to leave Wilf without closure. And (shameless plug), I actually wrote that particular headcanon into existence. You can read it here!
So yeah, thanks for the ask! Hope you enjoyed it, weird crossover fics and unpopular opinions about universally loved companions and all! ;)

Writing Tag Game
Okay listen I’m on vacation XD hence why I’m ignoring everyone’s tags/taking forever to respond. But I’ve been tagged in this A LOT and I really liked it/wanted to do it so thank you to everyone who tagged me (oh my god I’m so sorry if I missed one of you there were SO MANY): @noire-pandora, @in-arlathan, @thevikingwoman, @morganlefaye79, @elveny, @kunstpause, @pikapeppa
I’m not tagging anyone because I’m tagging everyone since I’m too lazy to find my tag list (I’m on VACATION). If you’ve not gotten tagged and wanted to do this, say I tagged you.
How many works do you have on Ao3?
147 - I have 145 linked to my profile and two in the anonymous collection.
What's your total Ao3 wordcount?
1,468,248. Almost 1.5 million!!
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Of Miracles and Heroes (FenHawke, Cadash/Varric, Varania/Blackwall): 269
Interspecies Relationships Have Their Ups and Downs (Shakarian): 145
Don’t Make it Hawkeward (Varric/Hawke): 135
The Ambassador’s Vices (Josephine/Adaar): 111
The Girl with the Arrow Tattoo (Cadash/Varric): 101
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do (but - to be honest - it takes me FOREVER). I love comments. It’s so much easier to not leave comments than leave comments, so every time someone leaves one I’m blown away. I feel like - for leaving me a comment - you’re definitely owed an answer! I do apologize that it takes me awhile though - I am very bad at answering because they mean a lot to me and I get easily overwhelmed by the AO3 inbox I don’t know why. Blame anxiety.
What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
I’ll be honest, I don’t like angsty endings so I don’t have many of them. By far the angstiest ending I have is Flowers, Lies, and Forgiveness. This is a Bianca Davri/Varric Tethras fic set during the final act of DA2. I wrote it from Bianca’s POV - showing Varric unraveling under the pressure of Kirkwall and Bianca’s complicated feelings about infidelity to her husband who clearly cares about her as well. I wrote it for @hollyand-writes who always lets me lean into the tragic “fucked upness” of the pairing when I’m feeling like making Varric suffer.
What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending
I prefer happy endings so almost EVERYTHING has a happy ending. My favorite endings, so far, are for Cheating the Dread Wolf, which is my Varric/Cadash/Solas polycule (or as I like to refer to it - Solas has a dwarf kink) and The Viscount’s Mistress which is my Hurt/Comfort Cadash/Varric Trespasser bullshit.
Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you've written?
I have not written crossovers - but I am very into AUs in another setting that belongs to a different fictional universe. Most recently I got back into my Downton Abbey bullshit and wrote Flappers for Fen’harel which is basically a Downton Abbey AU Solas/Cadash and I’m not taking comments about the outrageousness of it.
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Yep. Honestly though? Over the two years I’ve been active in Fandom, the shitty comments can be counted on one hand and usually came from the same people over and over again, who are easily blocked, and should stop seeking out clearly labeled content they don’t like. Me and my work are not for everyone - that’s REALLY okay. I’ve blocked people for no other reason than making things I don’t like - that doesn’t mean they’re bad people.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
GOD DO I.
I am extremely sex and kink positive. Because of this - a lot of my work involves sex in some way or another. I think sex is a beautiful part of many (although not all) relationships, and that it’s frequently glossed over in mainstream media (particularly queer, kinky, and polyam sex).
This ranges from sort of vanilla slow burns (My Cole/Bea fic, Compassion for an Assassin, has smut which hasn’t been posted yet. It’s Cole’s first time and is fairly vanilla and romantic, and occurs approximately 40k into the fic) to some pretty dubious consent near 24/7 dom/sub dynamics with BDSM kinks (I’ve written JUST as much of the Sereda/Gorim problematic smut as @jarakrisafis has in our series Forced Moves).
There’s very few kinks I’m not willing to touch at least to try out - even if I end up not liking them. And the ones that aren’t for me are 100% allowed to exist and I will fight for them to the bloody end. My only recommendation is CLEARLY labeling your shit and not being afraid to add a tag if someone asks you to.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I’m aware of? I’ve seen ideas I’ve tried on picked up by other people - but I don’t consider that stealing and it’s hard to trace “who has been inspired by who” because we ALL have been inspired by thousands of other people and frankly more stuff for me when I pull you over to my weird AUs and rarepairs.
I also think that’s a huge part of not getting stolen - I’ve got so much weird niche shit that only a couple people read that stealing from me is going to most likely be caught IMMEDIATELY the audience is so small.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
I don’t believe so!
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes! I’ve got some co-written secret smut with @blarfkey which almost nobody has seen, I’ve borrowed @tightassets Hawke, Lavellan, and Shepard for fics that she has illustrated, borrowed @tuffypelly‘s Adaars for some great fics, and my most ambitious project - the Forced Moves series with @jarakrisafis. It started out as us just exchanging gifts back and forth but we’ve wrangled it into Gambits and Countergambits, an Aeducan-origin prequel, that I’m VERY proud of.
I love co-writing very much, but it’s very important to find the right partner and for it to be someone you trust completely.
What's your all time favourite ship?
This is a stupidly hard question because I am, at heart, a multi-shipper.
I love Varric/Hawke and Varric/Cadash. I’m also a sucker for Solas/Cadash. My fandom pool noodle is Varric/Cadash/Solas which I adore, and I’m very fond of Cole/Cadash.
Most recently I’ve been DEEP in Aeducan/Gorim Saelac, Bhelen/Rica/Vartag, and Aeducan/Brosca feels. Dwarf origins are the best origins in my opinion and those characters are PERFECT.
What's a WIP you want to finish but don't think you ever will?
I fully plan on finishing everything. My writing style changed a lot, for the better, in a short period of time. I need to integrate my old style/new style and had to get a pep talk about how to do that. Now I’m ready to try as soon as I finish Compassion for an Assassin.
What are your writing strengths?
I write very sexy, hot smut. I also really like playing with character voice and making sure I get them “right” so I do a lot of experimenting before publishing a new character for the first time.
I struggle to write action scenes - it’s like pulling fucking teeth - but people really LOVE my action scenes and they read well. So that’s something I’m proud of even if it feels like doing fucking pull ups.
What are your writing weaknesses?
I never learned anything. My experiences with English and writing teachers were overwhelmingly negative. I’m unsure if I’m just not cut out for classes or if they were that bad, but I always left feeling like there was one “right” way to do it, and everything I liked was “bad”, so what was the point of “learning” anything?
It turns out there’s this very pompous, pretentious thought process in writing where people “assume” things must be done, but GOOD writing teachers teach you the rules and then how to break them. I either never had a good writing teacher or got too intimidated to give them a chance before bouncing.
So I’m exceedingly self-taught. I lack the vocabulary to discuss plot structure, characterization, grammar, etc. I instinctively know most of these things based on trial and error and reading, but I didn’t learn them and I miss a lot of nuance in the rules, but until recently I was still too intimidated and unsure of myself to admit that or take it seriously.
So - my defense mechanism is NOT taking ANYTHING seriously. If my writing is a joke to me, it’s gotta be a joke to everyone else, but that’s been a shield to hide behind instead of being thoughtful about things. I’m here to have fun, yes, but there’s nothing wrong with learning a technique to the art.
I’ve learned - mostly thanks to @blarfkey who is an amazing person and a wonderful teacher - that I am a good writer based on my self-teaching. And being intimidated of people who throw around impressive sounding words is a weakness that I am working on.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Use sparingly and with good reason. It should be short and explained later or clear from context.
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter on message boards back in the fucking day. Thankfully none of it exists anywhere anymore.
What's your favourite fic you've written?
This is such a sappy answer and I’m so sorry. My favorite things have been written for and because of people I love and care about. When I read them, I’m not just reading the story, but remembering the relationships I’ve made and how important they are.
So, my top three fics for THAT reason:
1. Cheating the Dread Wolf - written for @blarfkey who inspired the idea and ruthlessly encouraged me to make it happen. This fic was so healing for me because it heavily features Fatherhood within it - and I lost my father in June 2020. I don’t know if I’d have been able to do it without her and it was so important for me to do.
2. Gambits and Countergambits - written with @jarakrisafis and the culmination of a years worth of gifting shit back and forth and crafting a shared universe. The worldbuilding, smut, relationships, EVERYTHING about this fic is so deeply and passionately cared about by both of us and to our knowledge it is completely, totally unique.
3. Relentless, Ridiculous, and Rakish - one of my only primarily gen-fics focusing on a forming brother/sister relationship between Maria Cadash and @tuffypelly‘s Otsar Adaar. I very much enjoyed writing it for her <3
And then my overall favorite fic:
The Viscount’s Mistress: I have a lot of opinions about how fanfiction treats the anchor’s meltdown and the aftermath. It’s one of the things in DAI that resonated with me SO much as someone who lives with chronic pain and a disability. I loved the fact my OC was in the same shoes and STILL saving the world. This is very much a fic that explores all the dark sides of trauma, pain, and the mental health effects of it. But it ends on a happy and hopeful note.

Writing tag game -- tagged by @lessattitudemorealtitude
how many works do you have on Ao3?
Discounting podfic on which I’m listed as a co-author, 24. My concept writing doesn’t go to AO3 and the vast majority of my Narnia fic was never cross-posted there. (Or reposted there, actually, I think most of it pre-dates the AO3.)
what’s your total Ao3 word count?
1,050,810. oh, huh, I didn’t actually realize I’d passed the one million word mark (probably with Crown).
what are your top 5 fics by kudos?
all of these ended up being Star Wars, which is not a huge surprise. Morning will probably reach Dirt in the next couple of updates, I’d guess.
Immutable, or, Five Times Obi-Wan Kenobi Compromised His Jedi Ethics for Anakin Skywalker -- this is not the oldest Star Wars fic on there, but I think it’s the second oldest. people just really like 5 times fic.
Wake the Storm - did you know that when I started Wake I assumed it was a very niche trope in what was, at the time, a pretty dead fandom? the kudos count on Wake actually outnumbers Gambit by more than 1600 kudos, so the number of people who go from Wake to Gambit is a lot lower than you might think.
Queen's Gambit - a significantly lower kudos count than Wake or Immutable. Gambit’s such a weirdo of a story, tbh, I can’t be surprised by anything about Gambit anymore.
On the Edge of the Devil's Backbone - about 600 kudos less than Gambit, so less difference between Gambit and Backbone than between Wake and Gambit.
Dirt in the Machine - another older fic. I’d rewrite this one if I cared enough to do so, because it’s not at my current standards (Immutable isn’t either, for that matter) and I kind of wince every time I get comments on it. this is the first one of the top five to have below 1K kudos.
do you respond to comments, why or why not?
I’ll usually respond to direct questions, but I very, very seldom respond to comments in general. This is an old standing policy of mine that’s now more than a decade old -- it used to be I’d wait twenty-four hours before responding, then I’d respond right before the next chapter went up, and for a while I’d only respond to comments on the first few chapters of a story. Now I just mostly do not. The reasons for this are: (1) many, many years ago, I lost my temper pretty badly at a comment on a fic of mine (this was pre-AO3, this was back in my LJ days), and after that I moved to the “wait twenty-four hours” response so I didn’t say anything without thinking about it, (2) I do go back and reread comments but I hate rereading my own responses, (3) I prefer to know the comments numbers on my fic are all from actual comments and not from me saying “thanks for reading!”, (4) I can’t take that kind of responsibility for answering every single comment, man.
what’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Of stuff I’ve written in the past ten years? (I can’t really remember before that.) Maybe Backbone, because it ends on that pretty upbeat “yay team we’re going to be rebels now!” note. or Devil’s in the Details (other side part 1), though I don’t really want to consider it a finished fic even though it’s technically finished; it has another “yay team we’re back together (minus Ezra)” ending. I tend to end on complicated and reasonably open endings, not like...happy endings.
what’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
probably Gambit for the “everything is super fucked up factor and also the fact that I never wrote the sequel. plus it ended with the entire Wake trio split up in a whole new universe, plus back in the Gambitverse Amidala not able to go back to Naboo, Ahsoka shunned, Palpatine’s new empire, Rex trapped in the Gambitverse, etc.
do you write crossovers?
I did in my Narnia days. I don’t anymore. Working in widespread fandoms like Star Wars or the MCU is basically like writing crossover fic within the same universe, anyway.
have you ever received hate on a fic?
*hysterical laughter*
...yes. yes I have. it’s the reason every time I get a comment notification on Gambit or Wake I freeze in absolute terror. people HATE Wake and Gambit. I hate to say never, but I will probably never write those characters or in that series again.
do you write smut? if so, what kind?
not really? I’ve done relatively non-explicit sex but it’s not something I’m super comfortable writing, especially in recent years. I’m much more likely to do a fade to black.
have you ever had a fic stolen?
I think Gambit got scraped once when it was still in progress and my response was something along the lines of “good luck, bro,” given the whole “still in progress” thing.
have you ever had a fic translated?
I’ve gotten a couple of translation requests but I can’t recall if anything’s ever been translated. (Or if I responded to them...I know a few I forgot to respond.)
have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes, back in my Narnia days. Some SW concept writing and that ended so badly that I’ll never co-write again.
what’s your all-time favourite ship?
Kanan/Hera, of course!
what’s a wip that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
gods, Dust in the Air, my Narnia Last Battle AU. Back when I started it in 2008 or so I didn’t have the self-control or discipline I do now, even if I had a lot of the worldbuilding ability and the ability to conceive of if not execute long plot arcs, and I broke off more than I could chew. If I ever went back to it I’d probably have to do a complete rewrite and it has the unique problem among my WIPs of being the last major fic I wrote in present tense -- I now write exclusively in past tense. The bones of the story are good, I’d just have to go back to the bones and not just pick up where I left off.
what are your writing strengths?
Plot, worldbuilding/environment, action. I also do genuinely think I’m very good at characterization too, but I think they’re all inter-related. (Except the action, that’s me alone. I love writing action and I generally get a lot of compliments on my action scenes.) look, I know it’s conceited, but I’m good and I know I’m good, and I’m good in a pretty well-rounded way for the genre I write.
what are your writing weaknesses?
brevity. can’t do it.
honestly, there are others, but I don’t write stories where they’d come up. I think I have a tendency to get to bogged down in dialogue in a way that I’ve never quite solved. I also let my emotions take over too much and not in the good fannish way, in the “I’m having a fucked up relationship with canon or fandom and it’s affecting my ability to work” way.
what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
please stop having your Asgardians speak Latin for magic, man, that’s my feeling on it.
okay, my feelings on it for me -- I’ve sprinkled bits and pieces of Huttese, Twi’leki, and tee-tiny bits of other stuff here and there in fic. I’d not be comfortable doing more than that because the only other language that I really feel comfortable doing anything significant in is Latin, and even then I’d hesitate. also, like, Latin! not a language that comes up in the fandoms I write in. even then, like -- any extended dialogue should be intelligible to the audience, and I don’t expect my audience to be able read anything other than English; I’d rather just say “they switched to Twi’leki to say” or something similar.
what was the first fandom you wrote for?
like, online? Harry Potter. for things that I didn’t post online because I didn’t know what fic was yet? probably either The 10th Kingdom or The Mummy.
what’s your favourite fic you’ve written?
On the Edge of the Devil’s Backbone. I think it’s the best thing I’ve ever written, I think it’s the most tightly plotted, I think it’s got the best worldbuilding, I think it’s remarkably consistent thematically, and it was, at the time, a fic that I was very devoted to finishing or dying trying, because I was going through it at the time and some of it was connected to the fic.
I don’t tag people, but please go for if you want!

How many works do you have on AO3?
142!
What’s your total AO3 word count?
473,453... hopefully I’m on track to hit 500,000 by the end of the year! like obvs it’s not really about the word count & when I’m writing I’m not thinking that I have to make things longer (tho I think my fics have been getting naturally longer lately? I think I’m spending more time on descriptions and scene-setting. which I like but which def hasn’t been a conscious choice) BUT I am using word count goals to stave off the temptation to count kudos and notes & then get anxious about that. sir that is my emotional support ao3 word count.
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
the only fandom I’ve properly posted stuff for is dr who... if you go back far enough in my main blog there might be like, 2 sh*rlock fics on my main blog. wouldn’t recommend it tho I was still in high school when I wrote them GFDJHS
I did write for both sh*rlock and torchwood tho. also warrior cats when I was quite a bit younger. & teeechnically my first fanfic was for the saddle club. but I was like, 3. so I didn’t know what a fanfic was. I was just writing a ‘book’ about the horses.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
(excluding timetracks because it’s not a fic to me, it’s a collection, I only put it in one ‘fic’ so I wouldn’t have to come up with individual titles for everything in it gjdhfks)
- stones
- tenth time lucky
- coincidences
- lucky guess
- amber
which is. an interesting selection gdfjkg
Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
I try to! I don’t get that many so it’s doable. I do need to get better at answering them quickly though jkdf I am very small and a little bit shy and people are very nice
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
oo idk maybe longing for a time that never came? (no idea why I called it that ghdfk. it’s kind of pretentious for something that never had any rhyme or reason to it). because like. are they going to survive? idk!!!
(would also like to plug this art @ettelwenailinon made for that fic because I love it and also can’t believe it’s four years old??? hello????)
more recently I think it’s the kirkyard (which is a title I actually like!! I really like this fic actually) because two can’t do any more than get jamie out of the church but jamie doesn’t KNOW and he doesn’t understand why two doesn’t even stop to talk to him & it’s painful imo
Do you write crossovers? If so what’s the craziest one you’ve written?
not really! I’ve nothing against them, I just don’t tend to write them.
I wouldn’t really class my daemon au as a crossover because like. it’s not really set in the hdm universe, just uses the concept of daemons.
on the other hand I feel like the only crossover I have /is/ pretty niche and a bit wild. lifeboat is a crossover with ark: survival evolved which is very dear to my heart & in my head sits quite nicely with the dr who universe. that fic was SO self-indulgent to write but I loved it. plus the idea of victoria’s dad having THREE scientist friends who went mad in pursuit of godhood is so incredibly funny to me that I forget it isn’t canon
(also the character being referenced in that fic is now voiced by david tennant in-game/will be in the animated series so. gift of prophecy. dfjkhsglfk)
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
nope! like I said everyone has been very nice. the only hate has been from myself gdfhlk
Do you write smut? If so what kind?
don’t read it & don’t write it. just not my thing!
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
not as far as I know o:
Have you ever had a fic translated?
yes!
What’s your all time favorite ship?
I mean it’s two/jamie. I’ve been here for like 6 years. still digging my hole.
What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
talked about it in more detail in this ask but in terms of two-era stuff I’ve only got one that’s definitely never being finished and another that’s not got a great chance of being finished. & stuff I’ve written for other fandoms is just. look it’s gone gdjksdfdg. I don’t care about my dead sh*rlock wips it isn’t 2014 anymore
What are your writing strengths?
I honestly have no idea??? like I’m not being modest or anything, I genuinely don’t know. I think I can write some funny dialogue sometimes.
What are your writing weaknesses?
I’d really like to be better at plotting out longer fics tbh. having coherent plots and carrying through themes and details. people who can introduce an apparently inconsequential detail early in a fic and have it become relevant later in a way that makes you gasp are like, gods to me
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I’m too nervous about getting stuff wrong so I wouldn’t do it unless I felt like I had enough of a grasp of the language to know what I was doing. but I am at a stage where I feel confident having some simple gàidhlig in my fics!! which is nice. I’d really like to be able to write more, and also to be able to write jamie’s dialogue with like. a sense of english as his second language/gàidhlig as his first? like in the occasional turn of phrase or way of putting something. outside of fic I’m super interested in what someone from that period who had gàidhlig as their first language and english as their second language would have sounded like and how they would have spoken.
my absolute dream would be to be able to translate all my fics completely into gàidhlig, but I’m probably years off from that, if I’ll ever be able to do it. I would really love to be able to write fiction in it, that would be a mark of proficiency in the language for me.
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
kind of answered above!
What’s your favorite fic that you’ve written?
oougkj idk!! I have so many now and honestly I forget about a lot of them.
the selkie au always has a special place in my heart, and I do love doing more historical-based ones, so I’ll say the kirkyard because I was already talking about it. if I can be a know-it-all while writing something I’m usually happy gjhklkh.
tagging @galacticlamps and anyone else who wants to do it!!
#personal#putting this under a read more because it got kinda long and i don't want to clutter up people's dashes with my rambling haha#this was fun tho!

tagged in this thanks to @dominocity and i spend more time looking at my ao3 stats then i care to admit...
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
36 works on AO3, plus one on my super secret (not really) second AO3 so I don’t contaminate my fandoms.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
165,078
3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Baby Dragon - jurassic park if it was a romcom
Liking You and Me - this one is one of the earliest kaijou fics i wrote (besides the one i deleted), and i don’t even know if i like it anymore... but i get frequent kudos and comments so i guess it’s good!
In Awe of Flowers - they don’t even kiss!!! also @jadenvargen drew me a comic in the comments and i never thanked him for it because i was too scared to talk to him and tagging him now so long after the fact seems pretty ridiculous but um thank you jay for real.
Sweater Weather - kaijou for when you had a bad day
A Hand to Hold - kaijou hand kink this one i am actively embarrassed of (also, before i saw the light on trans joey)
4. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
I try really hard to! If the fic is really old I don’t (i don’t know why i can’t explain it), but I really appreciate when people take the time to comment and I want them to know it.
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
I don’t... really have any?? I write plenty of angsty situations. Competitionverse (my duke/seto business business au) is probably the angstiest one and the one I have the worst plans for. I have some secret fanfic of 1930s gangster Joey that I’ve kind of put out in the world so maybe that?
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Haaahaha what drew me back to fanfiction after not writing it for at least a decade was domestic portraits of kaijou so, like, that’s what I write. Probably Baby Dragon or In Awe of Flowers.
7. Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written?
Not crossovers but I write... a lot of AUs and in fact did an entire compilation one year for NaNoWriMo I never finished. Most niche is the Black Tapes AU that yes I do have a full outline for including timelines for every characters and how they intersect with the grand conspiracy, and maybe the wildest is Long Way to a Small Angry Planet just for making Joey a feathered reptile alien.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
I’ve gotten some comments over writing Duke as non-binary and kind of a weird one on my super secret FE3H fanfiction fighting me on a plot point??
9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?
I didn’t, but now I do. I don’t post 90% of what I write, which is maybe weirder? It’s been really good to be pushed there by friends and develop that part of my writing, so maybe I’ll post more. Probably not tho. I feel like I’ve branded myself as the KaiJou hand kink person but I still don’t write it enough to be anyone’s go-to.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
No?? I don’t think so???
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No but it’d be super cool.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I guess not technically. Me and @saggiclowns bounce ideas off each other, write fanfiction for each other’s fanfiction, and have definitely developed things together, so maybe that counts? But our IP is individualized.
13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
I have almost exclusively written KaiJou so you think that’d be the obvious answer. I think my actual all time favorite ship that sends me to the moon is probably Marceline/Bubblegum from Adventure Time (the history!!!! the animosity!!!!! the friendship!!!!!!!), I just... don’t want to read AT fanfiction.
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
Hahahaaaaaaa. I am WIP queen!! Back in the day I’d start a hundred fanfics just to abandon them! The same’s true of today I just don’t post every thought that comes into my head. Star Trek AU deserves so much more of my attention and I do have a plan for it and I bought a special little Star Trek notebook to keep all my thoughts ideas and notes in and then when it comes to writing it I struggle.
15. What are your writing strengths?
Genuinely, to toot my own horn, I feel I write very naturalistic dialogue and for the longest time writing dialogue was the easiest thing in the world to me, to the point that sometimes I would skip over anything else. Also, gosh I love world building. I could go from a blank screen to a fully articulated society complete with maps, pantheons, and intricate histories for every location. The problem is then writing it.
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
I tend to get very stuck on things and struggle to skip over them. Last year’s NaNoWriMo was a testament to that, and I kept rewriting and getting frustrated and will inevitably end up trashing the whole thing. I pick up new ideas constantly and then discard them for the next thought in my head. It’s part of why I’ve only really let myself write one shots and short fic, but I do have some longer WIP I’d love to actually finish.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
This is a tricky one and I’ve read and listened to a lot of people talk about how other non-fluent languages are presented in all kinds of different art. I personally don’t have a strong opinion. Best practice is to find someone who is fluent in that language to help you translate it (and there used to be whole blogs dedicated to helping people with this, I don’t know if they’re still around), but that doesn’t mean I’ve never jammed anything into a translator.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
This... is interesting because the answer is YuGiOh. Back in my middle school days my friends were very into ygo and wrote silly like chat formatted fics that we posted on DeviantArt (???) that were just really bad and stupid and silly, and the only reason I even thought about ygo was because all my friends liked it. The first fandom I actually really got involved in was Teen Titans, and ATLA I was, like, a recognizable presence. I fell off extremely hard probably thanks to college and have spent most of my life focusing on original fiction and writing my own characters. Then my best friend sent me a piece of fanart that unlocked my childhood memories, and here we are now, in the only fandom.
19. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
I wrote Bite Hard and it might be one of the best things I’ve written... and now I’ve kind of repurposed it into an original fiction??? I think the main characters might always be buddies no matter how much I’ve manipulated them, but it’s kind of spun off into it’s own thing? That’s what fanfiction’s for! Experimentation, playing with ideas, having a sandbox to build in! And then I EL James it and make millions! (jk)
@saggiclowns doesn’t post to AO3 that much, and i don’t know if @danieco even has an AO3 but they are extremely good writers!! also if you write fic, please share your own!
#i also totally forgot about my one single fear street fanfic on ao3#this is from waaaaaay before the movies i made it my goal to reread every single one and ended up making an ultimate universe for them#i've gotta a few kudos on it since the movies came out which is pretty hilarious#you can thank october for putting me in ygo hell i never would've gotten here without them#i abondoned my old life and started new#my fic#i guess#i forget all my tags

Tagged by @pidgeonpostal! And not tagging anyone else because I have SOILED the original template (soiled it!!) in deference to my [brushes off skirt] mostly clean public-facing appearance.
...I’ve been making a lot of Spongebob memes lately for someone who has not seen Spongebob.
How many works do you have on AO3?
71!
What’s your total AO3 wordcount?
...306,834. Jesus.
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
Uh. Many! I do a lot of one-offs (and/or start long things I never finish) in many different places. My top three fandoms by fics written are RWBY (29), Undertale (25), Gravity Falls/Transcendence AU (4).
Bet you can’t tell where my hyperfixations have fallen.
I’ve also got some Pokémon and Sonic the Hedgehog fics back on my ff.net account, or I think I still do, anyway, but let’s never go back there pls
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1. Sweeter Than Honey (Undertale): Taking a Completely unsurprising first place, with over 600 more kudos than the runner-up, the haphazard Underswap fic featuring a post-college self-insert I wrote just after high school! I shake my head some at how overblown and ridiculous the gap between this and all my other stuff is (c’mon, guys, I’ve written way better fics), but this is also the fic which prompted me (and at least one other person!) to start using they/them pronouns. I’ve gotten a lot of really sweet comments about how seen and appreciated it’s made people feel, so I can’t get down too far about it.
2. To Be A Hero (BNHA): I don’t count myself as part of the BNHA fandom, for a number of reasons, but for something that’s arguably the main motivation for the entire plot, Midoriya’s quirklessness is something I’ve never thought has been handled well. This fic marked the first time I (somewhat tentatively) claimed the disability label (thanks again to Sweeter Than for prompting that realization) to hold that lens over canon. It also really shot up my chart, dang! It’s the only thing here I’d consider “recent.”
3. Three-Sentence Shipping (Undertale): Self-explanatory.
4. Brothers Beyond Bonedaries (Undertale): Ah, the way-overcomplicated AU³ I got nowhere close to finishing. One of the things I really like about Undertale is the interface screw, how Toby Fox uses the medium of the video game to pull off crazy things and enhance his game, but most of the fic written for the fandom seems dedicated to explaining it away, grounding it, rather than taking it to the next step and messing with the medium of fanfiction when you keep the story going. I tried to do something cool like that here, playing with questions like narrator and authorship and breaking the fourth wall, even taking the “final boss” fight to a “totally separate” fic reached through the first by link – but, well, then I never finished it, which probably didn’t make anything less confusing for the poor folks who missed the intent.
5. Spirit and Such (Gravity Falls: Transcendence AU): A whole fic written to line out a particular image I had, which, naturally, never made it to the page. I consider it a bit of a cautionary tale for myself when it comes to writing (near-)original content; there’s a lot I look back on and cringe. I still love the characters, though – well, the important ones – and I think just stepping away from the tried-and-true Mizar formula nets it a star sticker here.
Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
>w>; I try, but a lot of the time I just don’t have anything to say? Like, oh, you liked it? Neat. There’s not much to respond to in comments like that, and then I’m weighing falling down on an ~obligation~ to respond to every message in my inbox vs annoying people with copy-paste fluff responses all down the page. Plus I know I make more of an effort to comment on things that didn’t get the attention I feel they deserve, so if I’m driving up my own comment count with nonsense, am I preventing myself from being in a position to receive more comments later? And then if I do comment, am I being too effusive or running people’s ears off explaining things they don’t actually need to know? Sometimes people just want to express interest or admiration and don’t necessarily want a whole peek and guided tour behind the curtain.
Can you tell I have anxiety? x3;
Anyway, I do respond when I can. And I keep most of the comments I’ve gotten to go back and reread.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Hm, hmm. Lots of stuff in the TQ Nonsense series would probably qualify! I’m thinking of Unfixable, Wolfsong, and Ethanol. And there’s Bursting Through A Blood-Red Sky (I Can Live, I Can Breathe), of course, but that was always intended to have a fix-it epilogue. It’s just that I wrote it in a couple of hours day-of, stared at it, and decided I didn’t wanna just then. But now that’s As Long As You’re Still Burning Bright (I’m Still Awake), and that’s probably the best romance I’ve written, so that one worked out.
Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve ever written?
Now and then! When the urge strikes. Uhhh, I’ve got a series of Doctor Who x Undertale crossovers I actually made a whole dang verse for that never made it to print. Get a couple great comments on that every few months or so. I think the World Trigger x Undertale crossover is probably weirder, though, by virtue of WT being a very small fandom. My enthusiasm kinda sputtered out on that one.
Mostly I just daydream crossovers with whatever happens to catch my eye at any given moment. I have a lot!!!! Though odds are out on whether I manage to remember any of them once the initial thought’s passed, lol.
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Gotten a couple eyebrow-raising comments, but I think mostly I’m just too small a writer to draw that kind of attention.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don’t? think so? Think my tastes are a little niche for most people to bother ^^;
Have you ever had a fic translated?
I had someone apologize once for any language mistakes in their comment cause they had to run it through a translator! That’s not what you asked (the answer is no), but it’s very flattering to think that someone liked my fic enough to read and comment despite the language barrier.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes! :D @pidgeonpostal was gracious enough to agree to co-write Five Nights at Denny’s with me off an idea about shoes. This has fulfilled a long-held dream of mine (collabing with someone, not the shoes) and also introduced me to some lovely people.
What’s your all time favorite ship?
Who has time for just one? ;3c Honestly, I care more about the characters and how the relationship – any relationship – between them changes them than I do about ~A Ship~ as a solid, bounded noun-object. I’ve got characters I like more and less and feelings about who does and doesn’t have chemistry in which directions with whom, but finding anything that agrees with those preferences is hard, harder when you take alloromanticism into account. I’ll play in any sandbox with cool toys, especially if other folks have already built sick sandcastles there.
What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
[kicks every single unfinished fic further under the bed] What nooo no WIPs here, everything on my account is either finished or does not exist
I’ve got a couple extra chapters of Sweeter Than floating around unposted, but 1. that fic’s a mess 2. high school Twixt and post-college Twixt are different people and trying to contort myself into three other me-shapes just cause people Like this fic is not something I’m super interested in 3. it’s headed for an emotional dip and I’d rather leave it where it is than post two chapters, stall out again, and leave folks with a bad end.
As for other fics... it’s looking more and more likely that v7 of my Yellow Brick Road AU will never actually make it out. >w>; I’ve got some really great ideas, but not enough to make me feel like I know what I’m doing, and that’s a big roadblock. Plus trying to engage with RT’s Atlas-Mantle worldbuilding in any serious capacity is... a headache. I can’t recommend the Happy Huntress Cinematic Universe enough, but it leaves some pretty big shoes to follow! And I’ve got small feet. <w<;
What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue’s fun, probably as an extension of characterization. I love tearing into what makes people tick, especially against the backdrop of their environment, the story they’re in, and the people they’re up against. Voice is a double-edged sword; I’ve been told my writing is really recognizable and individual, but on the other hand, I’ve been growing frustrated with with the limits of my narrative ability. There’s a strong rhythm I keep when I write (you might notice it here, even) but that leaves me feeling predictable and stale. I’m not sure I’m great at setting as a matter of course, but I’m pretty good at describing setpieces where the need comes up; that comes from my background in poetry, as does the fun I have with sublimating and abstracting complex imagery. And I think I bring some needed nuance to the universal. For good or ill, I don’t do what “everyone else” is doing.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Well, writing, for one thing. If I don’t know how something’s going to go and don’t have the urge to write it, it isn’t getting done, which means there’s a billion things that will never see the page and a few hundred more that are never getting finished. I lose momentum easily and have a hard time getting started, and I put way too much standing on finding a foothold with other people; as critical as I am of my work, I have high expectations for the stuff that passes muster, and it never seems to measure up. I’m also really uncreative. Yeah, I can mix up elements and extrapolate events, but coming up with things wholesale is really hard, which is why I avoid it wherever possible and steal/reskin stuff from other places instead.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Something along the lines of “Hoo boy, I am Not qualified for this but hopefully it’s decent anyway.” Maria’s Spanish lines haven’t been a big deal – I’ve used it sparingly and, as a Latin language, it should be easy for English-speaking audiences to pick up on the gist – but I’ve had a harder time with Tai’s Chinese, both because I have Even Less background there and because it is, of course, an entirely different language system. If I write it out in English or Romanized italics, am I colonizing it or changing the meaning? If I write it out in the presumed-original characters (presumed because it’s Google Translate and who knows if I’m even barking in the right forest), am I confusing or alienating my presumed-majority-English-speaking audience? Where should I put the translations? Should I put the translations? And for Frisk’s sign language, thinking back, are the brackets I used instead of quotes alienating/infantilizing? I like that different characters give the text between a different feel, but I’m not an ASL speaker – and I’m pretty sure the word is “speaker,” which would only reinforce that that demographic would rather I didn’t do that. It’s important for all these characters, I think, that they use non-English language where it makes sense; it’s part of who they are. But as a white monolingual English-speaker, I don’t think I can really weigh in.
What was the first fandom you ever wrote for?
Thaaaat’d be Pokémon, followed closely with Sonic the Hedgehog. Whether those fics are still on my ff.net account or not (pretty sure I’ve purged them, but you never know) I’ve still got a couple saved to a folder on my current laptop, ostensibly so I can look back and see how far I’ve come and more practically to allow for the possibility of furthering group cohesion through public shaming.
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
I still like the idea behind The Man Who Is Atlas, and Burning Bright (Still Awake) gets props for being my current fic, though it’s currently in that spot where I’m excited to get new chapters posted but also quietly marking everything up in red pen. I think Harbinger gets the crown here, at least for now.

2020 Creator Wrap: Favourite Works
so i got tagged by @robinlikeitshot which is !!!! super neat!
Rules: it’s time to love yourselves! choose your 5 (or so) favorite works you created in the past year (fics, art, edits, etc.) and link them below to reflect on the amazing things you brought to the world in 2020. tag as many writers/artists/etc. as you want (fan or original) so we can spread the love and link each other to awesome works!
-
i sure wrote stuff this year. like. a surprising amount of stuff, honestly. i'm now 15 chapters into my longfic, and i've been steadily creating at at least a few thousand words a month if not more. it's kind of really nice? especially since i've only gotten busier as time has gone on lol. i can definitely blame all of the peeps on discord for that one :p so in no particular order
1) Take It Back Now Y'all
yeah this one was obvious. this is my baby, my passion project, and the piece i keep coming back to over and over again. i'm so proud of this story, and while sometimes working on it can be frustrating, other times it feels like sitting down and getting comfy. i love writing in Tim's voice, and the amount of feedback has been incredible. it's now at over 1000 kudos, and everytime i remember that i freak out all over again. i'm hoping to finish it this year, but its always going to hold a special place in my heart
2) We're Not Driving (How did we get here?)
this was my first attempt at a giftfic, and every time i think about it i'm reminded of one of my favourite people, and for that alone i love it. though i should really go back and fix this one continuity error that i notice everytime i read it. bonus points if you know what i'm talking about :p but yes, i got to write hurt/comfort, i got to Project Hard onto a character i love, and i got to make someone i care about smile. heck yes
3) Each Life Touches so Many (Or Leaves an Awful Big Hole)
surprise surprise, this one isn't a Tim fic. i am and will continue to be an absolute ho for alternate universe crossover fics, in which characters are forced to confront the Maybes of their own lives. and when Castlevania gave me a maguffin as pretty as the Infinite Corridor in its second season, well. i really had no choice. i cracked this one out in like two days and its got some of my favourite action in it. also a pissy dhampir x2. it was a lot of fun and Sypha is The Best
4) No Need to Deal with Dragons
so i tried to JayTim week this year and oh boy. i had Ideas and Plans and a lot of them just didn't end up working the ways i had hoped. this fic on the other hand was exactly what i wanted when i had the idea for the Fairytale/Based on a Book prompt. the Enchanted Forest Chronicles meant so much to me as a kid, and getting to play with that world even a little was so damn cool. also i got to make the Outlaws cats, and that will never stop being funny
5) Orographic Lifts
another not-DC fic, and another bit of shameless self-indulgence. time travel and wings and assassins, oh my. i'm pretty proud of it, all things considered. less because i think its super good or something, but because i joined a pleasantly small discord full of some awesome people, and this fic is the product of a bunch of yelling of ideas back and forth. its also kind of a symbol to me of how i'm getting more comfortable with sharing creatively online? i would have never dreamed of writing this fic last year, let alone posting it. not because i wasn't capable of it ideas-wise (though it probably would have been a very different fic in terms of style), but because i kind of consider this a Niche Interest, and i've played those very close to my chest for a long time. this year has been huge for me in creative growth, and just being able to be a part of creative communities, and this fic is a culmination of all that
it's been a hell of a year, y'all. here's to a better one going forward <3 (also i didn't check if any of you i'm tagging have already done this because i'm lazy, feel free to ignore)
@epicmusic42 @selkienight60 @batbirdies
#my writing#tag game#this is definitely rambly dont mind me and the Fair Amount of wine i've consumed#tim drake#castlevania#assassin's creed#i'm not gonna tag more because this is all over the place lol
