helloooo this is a MASTER POST of my Sherlock Holmes annotations, aka shitpost doodles of my favorite parts with occasional headcanons. I will pin this so it's available and update it as I go because this feels like it's becoming a full series, god help me.
I'm reading the stories in the order they occurred (according to Baring-Gould, who I am currently arm wrestling in the astral plane over how many wives Watson had) so that's how I will present them!
EDIT: decided to draw them in the order that makes sense to me, Baring-Gould youāre too silly
EDIT 2: this is basically a webcomic at this point, with ongoing continuity and a romantic storyline that can be enjoyed if you read in order. I did not intend this, but I have Sherlock Holmes disease and there's only one cure (doing this)
EDIT 3: content warning/advertisement depending on your temperament: this series gets into one of my big interests, historical queerness, period accurate homophobia, and how laws around queerness affected lived experience. it also has things that you can expect from a Sherlock Holmes story like: drug use involving needles, violence, flagrant use of old timey guns, and people dying in shocking and mysterious ways!

The Current Timeline of Wild Kratts:
Remember 3 years ago during the hiatus when I made that detailed post explaining the chronological lore of Wild Kratts and analyzed its timeline of a decade's worth of episode with a dash of my own HC involved in it and posted it onto the Wild Kratts fandom subreddit?
Yeah, I promised updates to it when the new episodes arrived, and here I am years later where the season has already premiered. Not to mention there were people who messaged me about legitimate errors I made that I accepted humbly, but didn't actually fix. Not to mention the crossovers that I completely ignored.
Well, much like in 2021, I had wayy too much free time on my hands and decided to go back and finally update that timeline. Unfortunately, Reddit's character limit prevented me from getting the edited version posted so I grit my teeth and decided to bring this fucker to Tumblr via copy and paste. Yeah, I'm not even kidding. So if you've ALSO got enough free time on your hands or are someone who read the original post who was desperately searching for an update, you've got it.
Full post underneath the cut: Warning, shit gets crazy down there.
The PBS Kids original animated show āWild Krattsā has turned a decade old in the 2020's. Within that time, an autobiography, a 200 episode milestone, and a theatrical film based on the series is confirmed to be in development.
With new episodes of the show coming out, I figured that Iād analyze the show by making an analysis for its timeline. Like many shows, it does have continuity, butĀ Wild KrattsĀ is one ofĀ thoseĀ shows which apparently has an extremely open universe where events happen within that universe, but they donāt seem to have a coherent timeline or any serialization. Many episodes are aired out of order and itās hard to find a passage of time in a show which doesnāt rely on over-serialization in order to tell its own story.
I partly blame this on production errors as well as strict scheduling as well as the network focusing on releasing episodes in order of when they were produced as opposed to the intended date.
Iāll give it the benefit of the doubt that it doesnāt just rehash its timeline over and over again (unlike some other shows I knowĀ cough coughĀ Arthur & Family GuyĀ cough cough). Continuity does exist. Itās just figuring out how it falls in line that is the hard part.
Iāll update this post every time a new episode comes out. My plan is to analyze every single episode until the series finale so that we can determine how much time passes in the show. The way I'll order the timeline is by chronological order first. If there exists an episode or a group of episodes that do not contradict the order, but is not stated to go within this order, I will place them by original air-date and not production order.
I had found aĀ websiteĀ that lists every Wild Kratts episode (minus the hour-long specials) in order by air-date, unlike the Wild Kratts wiki & Wikipedia. Now, I did find some errors, as it claims that the first 2 episode aired on December 31st and not January 3rd, however I can forgive that as that has been a misconception for years and it got only the date wrong and not the order of episodes. So I was able to use that as a reliable source, more so than the fandom wiki. I am also running off of vivid memory based on my viewing experience as a kid, since I grew up with the show and have come to realize how much info I've retained from the universe of my hyperfixation and how I can use that to this post's advantage. Let's get into it.
Activate Analysis Powers!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
SEASON 1:
Letās start with the very first 2 episodes to be released: Mom of a Croc and Whale of a Squid.
In that episode, we see that the Kratt Brothers are already familiar with whatās around them. Theyāre familiar with the Minaturizer, their Creature Power Suits and Disks, and adventuring with the coolest creatures from oceans to trees (sorry, had to squeeze that reference in).
We see that some animals and inventions are introduced into this episode like the Hippo Sub, Crocodilla, and her daughters. However, letās focus on things which arenāt introduced in this episode.
Most notably, the Gharial Power Disks and the Miniaturizer. Letās focus on the disks first.
Near the climax of the episode, the Kratt Brothers use the Gharial Power Disks to substitute for Crocodile Powers since they did not have a disk. Gharials and Nile Crocodiles are both in the orderĀ Crocodillia, but were not in the same species nor family. That, along with different designs, makes gharials and crocodiles in general very different animals, which is why the activation didnāt hold up (I hope to god they actually make an episode around gharials in the next season).
Many people assume that this episode only takes place afterĀ KerhonkĀ since Chris uses Gharial Crocodile Power, but this is actually false. Listen closely to what Chris is saying.
āHa! Crocodile. And a gharial is a type of crocodile!ā
Now weāve already established that a gharial is NOT a crocodile despite being a crocodillian, but letās get to the important part. Chris is saying that as he pulls out his Crocodile Disk for the Creature Power Suit. Now here is the thing. He doesnāt pull out a Gharial Disk. He uses the Croc Disk to activate Gharial Power, but he doesnāt use a gharial disk to activate the corresponding power suit.
So if Aviva did invent Gharial Power by the events of Kerhonk, Chris wouldāve used that instead of using the Crocodile Disk as a substitute. And assuming that episode predates Mom of a Croc, the Kratt Brothers wouldāve obviously used the Crocodile Disk since they have used it before.
So that means there was some off-screen adventure where Aviva made Gharial Powers which took place before Kerhonk.
...But that would mean Chris would already have a Gharial Power Disk by the events of Kerhonk and Mom of a Croc. One of 2 things is likely the case. Either Chris didnāt have access to the disk and used Crocodile Power as a last resort (as we see, the disk holder doesnāt exist until Season 2, so he probably stuffs them in his pockets), or that episode exists in an alternate timeline, which we know isnāt the case since that episodeās continuity is brought up later (we will see soon).
So weāve established that Kerhonk takes place after Mom of a Croc, which takes place after an unseen series of events that predate the series itself as we know it.
Now onto the Miniaturizer. We see it in this episode, but 4 episodes later inĀ Mystery of the Squirmy Wormy, the miniaturizer is invented. That leads me to believe that the episode takes place before Mom of a Croc. However, if you look in the background, you can see that the Walrus Power Suit is in the background with a harness and strap over it. This debunks my original theory of this episode predating the invention of the Creature Power Disks.
With the Walrus Power Suit in mind, it has a harness and strap over it, which brings up the question of why?
My answer would be that the harness and strap was meant for the Walrus Suit after it was damaged inĀ Polar Bears Donāt Dance.
So now weāre at the original pilot episode, the first piece ofĀ Wild KrattsĀ media produced by PBS Kids (excluding the Flash games that came out a month prior and were removed 9 years later, *sobs*). Here, the operation of the suits is different. Here, Aviva modified the suits for arctic survival and all it takes is for them to touch the animals with the gloves and then press the button. In many episodes, the modification occurs with the existence of a Creature Power Disc, or the disk is seen off-screen.
But the more I see into it, the more it makes sense. Ever wonder why we donāt see some creature power disks of creature powers in the earlier episodes? Maybe it could be the same reason why we donāt see the Polar Bear and Walrus Disk for the Creature Power Suit.
Aviva pre-programs the Creature Power Suits into the animal that the user can activate into not because she prefers this over making discs, or because the discs are already inserted into the suit, but because this was before she began making Creature Power Discs. This explains why in many Season 1 episodes, we donāt see the disc itself because the power is preprogrammed into the suit.
So at what point does this end and Aviva starts making discs? Any could be. All we know is that this would soon become the norm over preprogramming the power into the suits.
Polar Bears Donāt Dance could possibly chronologically take place around the earliest in theĀ Wild KrattsĀ timeline.
InĀ Mystery of the Weird Looking Walrus, Aviva talks about upgrading features into the Walrus Power Suit. Maybe she isnāt talking about inventing the suits, but modifying the suits, which is fitting considering the walrus suit somehow malfunctioned and got jammed (which was presumably due to the cold arctic ice).
In the same episode, Zach and Donitaās interactions appear to be as if they had met recently, with Donita referring to Zach as the one who āvomitted from clams under the table.ā So already weāre forming a coherent timeline with these episodes and weāre not even half-way through Season 1.
There would be one inconsistency. In this episode, Aviva says Jimmyās controller is waterproof (along with food-proof) but in Seasquatch, 16 episodes later, Jimmyās controller is protected by a shrink-wrap, indicating that it isnāt safe from the environment. Well, hereās the thing.
That episode shows a second appearance of the Squid Power Suit and Bumper the Sperm Whale from the episodeĀ Whale of a SquidĀ which aired alongside Mom of a Croc on the premiere date of the series.
Thereās no reason not to believe that the whale episode takes place afterĀ Mom of a Croc,Ā which we have already established, takes place long afterĀ Polar Bears Donāt Dance. With that, my only explanation is that Jimmyās controller wasnāt 100% waterproof since salty water can actually be very damaging to technology.
InĀ Octopus WildKratticusĀ Koki lists down many Creature Powers shown. This includes Honey Badgers, Polar Bears, and Octopi. This indeed indicates that these episodes where these powers debut are placed before this episode (some say itās a retcon, but I disagree since Martin couldāve activated Honey Badger Power after the events of Honey Seekers).
Now letās address the continuity in the series.
In Season 1, the Kratt Brothers have 2 adventures in the Australian Outback: Ones with kangaroos and koalas. In the koala episode, Chris mentions Aviva inventing Thorny Devil Disks for the Creature Power Suits the last time they were there. Considering that the kangaroo episode was 2 episodes prior to this one, Iām making it count.
Mimic is a sequel to Cheetah Racer, which takes place after Falcon City. In Mimic, the Cheetah Power Disk is invented, which is later used in Caracal Minton.
A Huge Orange Problem takes place after Kerhonk since Schnozzle (I think that is his name appears and Chris and Martin refer to him by that name.) This means that Kerhonk is in the official timeline of WK, meaning the only explanation as to why the Kratt Brothers had little access to either the Gharial and Crocodile Power Disc is that they physically had no access to it due to misorganization.
The Food Chain Game introduces new Creature Powers treated as familiar powers, which indicates that they were already invented off-screen. No episodes introduce these Creature Powers so that means the episode can't be out of order.
In Masked Bandits, Chris and Martin originally intend to use Wolf Power as costumes for their Halloween party, but instead Raccoon Powers are activated and Wolf Power is instead invented in Little Howler.
Ok so letās go over the established time-line so far. When listing down the time-line, Iāll first do the episodes that chronologically fit together, then Iāll list episodes through air-date if thereās no connection or contradiction between them, then I will go back to chronology if I need to.
Polar Bears Donāt Dance ā The Mystery of the Squirmy Wormy ā The Mystery of the Weird Looking Walrusā Unnamed Gharial Crocodile Adventure Episode ā Mom of a Croc ā Whale of a Squid ā Aardvark Town ā Flight of the Draco ā Platypus Cafe ā Bass Class ā Build it Beaver ā Voyage of the Butterflier XT ā Honey Seekers ā Fireflies ā Tazzy Chris ā Octopus Wildkratticus ā Walk on the Wetside ā Elephant in the Room ā Let the Rhinos Roll ā Kickinā it with the Roos ā Koala Balloon ā The Blue and the Grey ā Falcon City ā Cheetah Racer ā Mimic ā Kerhonk ā A Huge Orange Problem ā Caracal Minton ā Zig-Zagged ā Seasquatch ā The Food Chain Game ā Masked Bandits ā Little Howler ā The Gecko Effect ā Flight of the Pollinators ā Birds of a Feather ā Googly Eye: The Night Guru ā Stuck on Sharks ā A Bat in the Brownies ā Raptor Roundup ā Quillbur's Birthday Present
And thatās the end of the S1 timeline
Season 2:
Now already, we can see that Season 2 is a continuation of Season 1. The Tortuga HQ has an upgraded design, most likely from Aviva, which foreshadows the events of āTortuga Tune Up.ā
For the sake of things, I will put Speaking Dolphinese and Blowfish Blowout at the start of the S2 timeline because we donāt see the Tortuga so thereās a high possibility of it retaining its original design from S1 (Iām not including Lost at Sea because that was a terrible special that did nothing but combine 2 unrelated episodes into a movie).
The Seahorse Rodeo takes place afterwards since in Tortuga Tune Up, we see Blimpy (who is now an adult) and Ocean Pony.
Next we have Tortuga Tune Up, which shows Aviva modifying the Tortuga for swimming mode. Obviously I like to think the Tortugaās redesign was an attempt to fix it, until Aviva had realized something was amiss.
Rocket Jaw: Rescuer of the ReefĀ is a part of the Coral Reef saga of episodes so I count it at the beginning of S2.
Then we have Bad Hair Day, Race for the Hippo Disc, Creature Power Challenge, and Termites Versus Tongues, all of which are the first 4 ep. of S2 and take place in Africa. I consider those 3 chronologically connected. Plus, Zach recalls stealing the Creature Power Disc in one episode.
Happy Turkey Day is a Thanksgiving-related episode but I can easily consider it to be in the timeline.
Bugs or Monkeys serves as the first installment of the Central American Rainforest/Coral Reef saga. Followed by Shadow: The Black Jaguar, Rainforest Stew, Secrets of the Spider's Web, and To Touch a Hummingbird.
Then we get a bunch of episodes taking place in the Sonoran Desert. First we have Rattlesnake Crystal, which introduces the Sonoran Desert. I include this directly after the hummingbird episode because here, Aviva modifies Eyelash Viper Power for Rattlesnake Powers.
In the episode āRoadrunnerā Chris and Martin say they have only JUST arrived at the Sonoran Desert. That episodeās plot is focused around the Tortuga getting a resupply, which is fitting considering they just recently crashed.
I would put āSkunkedā after Roadrunner since it appears that they have enough resources by now. Then weād get āGila Monster Under My House,ā then āDesert Elvesā
Aqua Frog would come next I assume, I see no reason not to.
Groundhog Wakeup Call and Journey to the Subnivian zone have little ties to other episodes so I can place them in order of air-date. Since Attack of the Tree Eating Aliens takes place in the spring, we can have them come after those episodes.
So the Season 2 timeline goes like this:
Speaking Dolphinese ā Blowfish Blowout ā Rocket Jaw: Rescuer of the Reef ā Seahorse Rodeo ā Tortuga Tune Up ā Bad Hair Day ā Race for the Hippo Disc ā Creature Power Challenge ā Termites V. Tongues ā Neck and Neck ā Happy Turkey Day ā Bugs or Monkeys ā Shadow: The Black Jaguar ā Rainforest Stew ā Secret of the Spider's Web ā To Touch a Hummingbird ā Rattlesnake Crystal ā Roadrunner ā Skunked ā Gila Monster Under My House ā Desert Elves ā Unnamed Burrowing Owl Disc Creation Episode ā Aqua Frog ā Journey to the Subnivian Zone ā Snow Runners! ā Groundhog Wakeup Call ā Attack of the Tree Eating Aliens
Season 3:
Now, a lot of misconceptions have been made around Season 3 in terms of both continuity and air-date. My stance? Donāt believe a goddamn word that Google, Wikipedia, or the Wild Kratts wiki says. They have been getting the episode air-dates wrong since the very beginning, which is the reason I have to organize them.
As a longtime fan of the show who has been there since the beginning, I pretty much know the air-dates of the episodes by heart and the order.
The first episode is Hermit Crab Shell Exchange, second is Where the Bison Roam, third is Bandito: The Black Footed Ferret, fourth is When Fish Fly, fifth is Osprey. All 7 of these episodes premiered from April 7th to April 11th, 2014 as a part of PBS Kids'Ā Wild Kratts Week, celebrating the show returning for its 3rd season.
The episode to air after that is the double-length episode, Back in Creature Time, which despite popular belief is NOT the Season 3 finale. The last episodes of Season 3 were centered around Madagascar. But before that, we see some adventures in the cypress swamp and the prairie.
Now that weāve cleared up the misconceptions that people have had about Season 3ās episode order for the past 7 years (yeah a BIG fuck you to Wikipedia for that shit) letās address the order continuity wise.
The first 7 episodes aired from April 7-11th as part of PBS KidsāĀ Wild Kratts Week!Ā Celebrating the showās renewal of S3. All but one would likely remain at their place. All except for Where the Bison Roam and Bandito since it introduces the prairie arc.
Back in Creature Time was after a LONG hiatus. Just to give you a good idea as to how long it was, the first 7 episodes of S3 aired in April when I was still in school, then the Back in Creature Time special aired months later long after I had moved into a different house during summer vacation.
The first episode to air after Back in Creature Time was Mosquito Dragon and Crocogator Contest (they were aired together as part of a special called āSwamp Thingsā but that special sucked for the same reasons why Lost at Sea did).
Now, this is something I noticed. Mosquito Bots were already invented by the time of Back in Creature Time, meaning that episode takes place after Mosquito Dragon.
And if weāre to include the cypress swamp saga, that means that Back in Creature Time comes in around the middle of the S3 timeline chronologically. Thatās not even including the prairie episodes.
There were also Madagascar episodes. I consider Lemur Legs is chronologically the first of the order since the Kratts enter Madagascar here, and the finale of this arc is Golden Bamboo Lemur, where they leave.
This will be hard to crack, but I might be able to do it.
A thing that I noticed was that the Dragonfly Power Suits got redesigns frequently in S3. In Osprey and Mosquito Dragon, it has basket legs, resembling its S1 counterpart, but in Florida Panther and Back in Creature Time, they look completely different. In-universe, this can be credited to Aviva redesigning the suit, so I tried to arrange the episodes in a way that would make the suit's metamorphosis (pun not intended) feel less jarring than if you were watching the episodes in production order or viewing order.
So the S3 timeline is
Hermit Crab Shell Exchange ā When Fish Fly ā Osprey ā Crocogator Contest ā Mosquito Dragon ā The Search for the Florida Panther ā Opossum in My Pocket ā Slider: The Otter ā Back in Creature Time ā Where the Bison Roam ā Bandito: The Black Footed Ferret ā The Amazing Creature Race ā Prairie Who ā Mystery on the Prarie ā Under Frozen Pond ā Capture the Fishmobiles ā Praying Mantis ā Lemur Legs ā Chameleons on Target ā Aye-Aye ā Lemur Stink Fight ā Tenrec Treasure Hunt ā Fossa Palooza ā Mini Madagascar ā Golden Bamboo Lemur
Season 4:
Once again, this season was distributed out of order and the years that have passed since its release, however, as someone who, once again, watched every episode the day they aired, I can correct the misconceptions.
Firstly, the first episode of S4 was The Last Largest Lobster, and the last episode was Musk Ox Mania. The 3rd episode was A Creature Christmas, followed by 5 additional episodes, one of which introduced Paisley Paver and Rex into the show.
Now the confusion is that A Creatire Christmas aired as the 3rd episode of S4, yet animals and Creature Powers in that episode wouldnāt be introduced until later. So Iāll list down all of the episodes that come before the Christmas special.
The Last Largest Lobster comes before Stars of the Tide (they literally aired back-to-back).
Panda Power Up comes first in the China-located episodes. Next up comes Golden Snub Nosed Monkey Man. Red Panda Rescue features both Giant Panda and Snub Nosed Monkey Power, so I imagine it comes next. At the end of that episode, Aviva alludes to Red Panda Power, which is present in āThe Colors of Chinaā
Pangolin Rescue follows that (remember, all of these take place before A Creature Christmas). Along with the Two-Tusked Narwhal Adventure, the Snowy Owl Invasion, the Puffin adventure, the Other Martins, and This Orca Likes Sharks.
At this point, weāve covered all of the pre-Christmas episodes. Now letās do the ones we have left.
Liturgusa Krattorum, Eel-lectric!, Sea Otter Swim, Box Turtled In!, Animals Who Live to be 100 years old, Archerfish School, and many others.
Something to note is that Aviva narrates how the villains have never before teamed-up. Ignoring the fact that it is not true, that episode would have to come before Krattorum.
Hereās the timeline of S4:
The Last Largest Lobster ā Stars of the Tides ā Box Turtled In ā The Other Martins ā Sea Otter Swim ā Animals who Live to be 100 Years Old ā Spirit Bear ā Panda Power Up ā Snowy Owl Invasion ā Golden Snub Nosed Monkey Man ā Red Panda Rescue ā The Colors of China ā Pangolin Rescue ā Archerfish School ā Baby Tooth & Kid Musky ā Musk Ox Mania ā Puffin Rescueā Mystery of the Two Horned Narwhal ā This Orca Likes Sharks ā A Creature Christmas ā Cheetah Adopted ā Eel-lectric ā Liturgusa Krattorum ā Creatures of the Deep Sea
Season 5:
Iām gonna throw in my personal opinionā¦ This is my least favorite season of the show. The premiere episode,Ā Alaska: Heroās JourneyĀ was pretty cool and in my opinion, jumped the shark forĀ Wild KrattsĀ as we know it. Not only did it establish continuity with previous adventures and use it as a key-factor for the episodeās story, but it introduced a Creature Power Suit for Koki and had a very mature theme and an awesome message.
And then it went downhill from there. A lot of episodes, whilst enjoyable, felt pretty weak. Some were forgettable, and it felt like it talked down to its audience more, and there were just a lot of things that I felt didnāt work. This is where I think the show began a heavy seasonal rot and I know I'm not alone in this.
Ok, opinions aside, the time-line of this season is a lot easier to decipher than the earlier ones because there were less episodes.
Even thoughĀ Alaska: Heroās JourneyĀ was the first episode of S5 to be aired, the Bald Eagle Power Suit was shown, yet it wouldnāt be invented untilĀ The Fourth Bald Eagle.
Many listings showĀ Mystery of the North Pole PenguinsĀ as the S5 premiere. And given that there are no continuity errors in that episode, I can see it being the start of Season 5ās storyline.
In the next episode,Ā Temple of the Tigers, Martin and Chris head to India to adventure with tigers. A majority of S5 takes place in India, including the episode where Paisley Paver and Rex return, so I view the tiger episode as the start of the āIndiaā arc.
There are also several episodes centered in Europe, as part of what I like to call, the āEuropeā arc.
Creepy Creatures would go near the end of this timeline, as we see many S5 Creature Powers and animals by then.
So hereās the timeline for S5
Mystery of the North Pole Penguins? ā Temple of the Tigers ā The Dhole Duplicator ā The Cobra King ā Sloth Bear Suction ā Elephant Brains ā Cheeks the Hamster ā Fire Salamander ā Komodo Dragon ā Wild Ponies ---> City Hoppers! ā Blue Heron ā Choose your Swordfish ā The Erminator ā Hercules: The Giant Beetle ā Creepy Creatures! ā The Fourth Bald Eagle ā Alaska: Heroās Journey
Season 6:
This season in my opinion, was a slight step up from the 5th season, since we get to see more interesting animals, and the writing feels a lot more breathable. The color palette, I specifically would go without, because it just looks weird. What I do like is how they recasted Koki, a character of color, to be voiced by a woman of color, and I'm glad this change is permanent.
Instantly, we get an instance of a continuity error: Martin is shown to have a Jackrabbit Power Disc in the 2nd episode of S6, yet he doesnāt get it until theĀ EasterĀ special,Ā In Search of the Easter Bunny. Thereās actually a reason behind this. The original title for the episode focusing on bunnies was titled āSpring Bunniesā and was listed as the Season 6 premiere, however this was cut and the bunny episode was released almost a year later. My working theory is that because of tight schedules, āSpots in the Desertā was released before the introduction of the Jackrabbit Power Disc.
We return to the Amazon once again with the double-length episode,Ā Amazinā Amazon AdventureĀ and we get some newer amazon episodes after that.
In a promotional video forĀ Heroās Journey,Ā the Kratt Brothers said that Season 5 would have at least 23 episodes. My guess is that they had to cut down the last 5 episodes because of COVID or something.
There are two things that stand out the most to me in this season's timeline. For starters, in the Hammerheads episodes, we see that the brothers have an Antelope Disc for the Creature Power Suit despite there being no episode centered around those creatures or introducing a Power Disc. Much like the Burrowing Owl and Gharial Discs, we're to assume that there was an adventure focusing around that animal/an invention of that Creature Power Disc that was not televised, and thus is part of this season's lineup.
The second was how in one of the first episodes of Season 7, Chris expresses a desire to adventure with wolverines, despite that happening in the previous season. So in a rare case, this has to go in a different season's timeline to remain consistent.
Anyways, letās go onto the timeline of the most recent season. Iāll be going off of habitat here just to be consistent.
In Search of the Easter Bunny ā Mystery of the Flamingoās Pink ā Spots in the Desert ā Wolf Hawks ā Deer Buckaroo ā Unnamed Antelope Adventure Episode ā Hammerheads ā The Vanishing Stingray ā The Real Ant Farm ā Mystery of the Mini Monkey Models ā Amazinā Amazon Adventure ā The Great Froggyback Ride ā Parrot Power ā The Race to Goat Mountain ā Iron Wolverine ā Adapto the Coyote ā Tartigrade Xtreme ā Uh Oh-Ostrich! ā The Great Creature Tail Fail ā Cats and Dogs ā
Season 7:
The long-awaited Season 7 has arrived as of 2023, marking the return of the show to PBS Kids after two years of a hiatus. With eight episodes having been released, 13 more confirmed on the way, and the 200th episode milestone airing in S7, fans have a lot to hope for. And thankfully it means new fodder for my timeline list.
As I've said before, The Race to Goat Mountain cannot be a part of Season 7's timeline since it has to take place before their actual wolverine adventure.
This in of itself is purely subjective but I like to imagine that Clever the Raven would be the first episode of S7. For a few reasons. One, it was the first episode of the season to be confirmed (in an interview with Jane Goodall). Secondly, compared to Outfoxed, it felt more like a season premiere. With the fanservice-callbacks, the villains returning, the simple-structure of the plot with no rising or falling action and the episode's overall writing, it basically marks off a check-list of everything in the show that you were missing out on for 2 years and everything that you're coming back to after such a long break. Plus it's my favorite out of all of the S7 premiere episodes. Call me biased, but this one's going first.
Our Blue and Green World was the first of the episode batch in 2024. Personally, I am putting it as the most recent spot in the S7 timeline, after the other 3 episodes. The reason being is because with Paisley Paver's redemption, this episode feels like a huge game-changer, one that the writers hint will affect the rest of the series. I think this special should've been the last to air in the batch just to get viewers hyped for what's next. It's basically like a mid-season finale of some sorts:
Three new episodes will air in November of 2024: Salamander Streaming, Bumblezzz, and Chimpanzee and Me. Until the episodes come out, I will list them in the timeline in their release date order.
Timeline of Season 7:
Clever the Raven ā Outfoxed ā Owl Odyssey ā No Name Dream ā Backpack the Camel ā Fish Out of Water ā Our Blue and Green World ā Salamander Streaming ā Bumblezzz ā Chimpanzee and Me
CROSSOVERS:
There are three shows that Wild Kratts has crossed over with. One of which came out after I made this post, two of which before, but I decided to add them here just for the fun of it and to commit to the lore-dump of the timeline. Whether or not I'll extrapolate that into forming a huge novel about the expanded universe of PBS Kids, only time will tell.
Night Shift: (Odd Squad)
This was the first crossover the brothers had done with another show, Odd Squad, a live action math-based cartoon that is set to air its fourth season in 2024. The Kratt Brothers have their traditional live-action opening that is interrupted by Otis and Olympia solving their 'odd problem' a running gag with various different characters throughout the series as a 'cold opener.' The reason there is such a massive overlap between the two fandoms is because of that scene in the episode.
How to fit it into the canon? Well, since this is shot similarly to a Wild Kratts live action opener segment, then we can equate it with the "what if!?" element of the show. It should be noted that the Kratts are following a white-tail-deer, an animal they would later adventure with in Season 6. So you could have this episode take place directly before the "what-if?!" section of that episode that transitions into the animated story.
Wild Batts: (Nature Cat)
In 2015, PBS Kids launched a new nature based show known as "Nature Cat" featuring the titular cat and his gang of animals exploring nature. This special aired directly after Wild Kratts: A Creature Christmas, so PBS Kids often marketed both the WK Christmas special and the Nature Cat premiere, so much so that at the end of the Christmas episode, the Kratt Brothers themselves promoted the new Nature Cat special. It only made sense that these nature brothers from another mother teamed up! And thus we had Wild Batts! In this episode, Chris and Martin "Batt" have to find a new home, after their old one is destroyed, challening Nature Cat and Ronald's fear of bats in the process and learning more all about them. Several references to the Kratt's show are made, such as the classic "Living free and in the wild!"
How to fit it into the canon? In the episode's context they are literally bats, but in the context of the show itself, they would probably be in Creature Power Suits. And one thing interesting is that Chris and Martin are said to be Indiana bats, an endangered species of North American bats. We know that there is no singular Creature Power Suit for a generalized species as we've seen with the crocodillian, owl, and snake-based Power Suits. So it's possible that Aviva modified the Little Brown Bat/Vampire Bat programing with Indiana Bat Power. So this would probably take place post-Season 1. I have it take place in Season 6 since Wild Batts aired around the same time that Season 6 just started airing, ironic ain't it?
Oh, and the episode also makes bat references to other PBS Kids characters, such as Peg + Bat (Peg + Cat), George the Curious Bat (Curious George) Daniel Bat (Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood) and the Bat/Cat in the Hat. Now, the logical man within me says that these are easy puns to laugh at and not look into. However, the sick twisted fuck that is me says, connect that shit together. Since we've already established Odd Squad, we can probably say that there was an 'odd problem' turning these random PBS Kids characters into bats (probably including the Kratt Brothers if you don't buy the idea that they're in very convincing Creature Power Suits) and that the Odd Squad is able to save them with a reverse-bat-inator and they all go their separate ways, never to meet each other again until their grand return in PBS: Endgame (ok maybe I'm going too far into it but just a funny thought, also yes that is the one MCU reference I decided to cash in).
Cry Wolf: Molly of Denali
The 3rd of the Wild Kratts crossovers, airing in summer of 2022. This was a massive thing in the WK fandom, mainly because around that time, news had come out that the show would not air any new episodes until 2023, which was a massive low blow. This crossover between Wild Kratts and Molly of Denali, while not enough... at least damaged this blow and is an okay entry point to Molly of Denali, another pretty damn good PBS Kids show.
The Kratt Brothers help Molly and her dad track a missing pack of endangered wolves, learning more about them on the way. In the episode it's established that Molly is a huge fan of Wild Kratts, referencing their show a lot, implying that the Kratts we see here are 2D representations of their IRL selves rather than their 2D-in-universe selves. Still, I came here to overanalyze, and overanalyze I shall! Since the Kratts did their whole "what-if!?" skit in Odd Squad, then I could see the same happening here, just not being necessary for the episode's plot. I'll suspend my disbelief again because what the hell.
How to fit it into the canon? I'd have it come between Season 6 and 7. It aired around that time, and again, it was almost certainly done so as compensation for making fans wait 2 years for the new season to drop. Plus it lines up with my headcanon of Clever the Raven being the first in S7's timeline, since the brothers would still be in the mood to adventure with wolves.
So to conclude, all of these crossovers I see as very recent in the show, you could cut them out and lose nothing, but add them in and get more of something, which is what I'm doing. In terms of timeline to the crossovers specifically, here it goes.
Wild Batts ā Night-Shift ā Cry Wolf

Hi everyone, guess who's back.
After 2 months of absence i've decided to bring myself back on here and explain some things that have happened.
š
After publishing a post a while back regarding incest, i had recieved a lot of hate since then. When i posted it I had no idea how much hate I was bound to receive from all of you once you guys saw it, and honestly i didn't think it would get that much attention. After realising it was clearly causing so much hate I posted an apology, which all you also thought was total shit, so I deleted that too.
And right after, I was bombarded with an ungodly amount of death threats through my inbox, people asking me to kill myself and end it. It was a whole lot, and I really didn't think that one measly post would set you guys off so fast. And honestly I was surprised to see how much there was. My inbox was full of them, and I couldn't handle it all.
Soon enough as expected one person had gone anonymous, sending inbox messages to my followers to report the 'heinous crime' I've committed by posting one silly thing, which by the way, put out a lot of false information. The person was over exaggerating, putting shitty words in my mouth. And I'm here now to talk about all the accusations the person has made. To the people who recieved the inbox message, here's your real explanation from the blogger who made the damn posts.
1. I 'nonchalantly' wrote twincest about Tom and Bill.
First of all, I have never in my life intended to ship the damn twins. If you have checked tumblr well enough, you should be aware there's tons of threesome sex fics about Tom and Bill, where they both fucked the reader at once. And if you fucking bothered to read my fic properly and not jump to conclusions to try so damn hard and cancel me, you'd know damn well Tom and Bill never even touched eachother in the fic that I wrote. They didn't have sex with eachother, they didn't DIRTY TALK eachother, and they did NOT do anything that would have come across as incest.
They both simply fucked the reader and talked to the reader, having nothing to do with each other in the fic. Get your damn facts right b4 you try to sound like a fucking smartass.
2. I want to be 'chained up and used.'
Kinks and fantasies everyone, c'mon. People have FUCKING KINKS. And mind you, this is tumblr. If you srsly see shit like this and start acting out because it makes you sad then clearly it's not for you so like just scroll? You have a damn finger, don't you? Unless, y'know, you cut the damn thing off.
Anyway, I think it's pathetic you're acting all petty over it cause you wanna cancel someone so bad and be the fucking hero of the day. Nobody cares, cunt.
3. I wanted to 'abuse' Bill.
To clarify this one, I do agree that the term 'abuse' was too strong. I don't intend to fucking abuse the poor guy, I just had no idea how to fucking word my sentence and how I was trying to get the damn message out. I've already edited my post on this one. So, chill out.
4. I'm 'anti-lgbt'?
This shitty one has been going around a LOT ever since I posted something regarding how annoying Bill was in the Kaulitz & Kaulitz series, where he talked alot about his sexuality.
First of all I'm not fucking homophobic. To let you guys know I am a Catholic Christian, (ik, not a very holy one) and supporting the lgbt community is definitely not on the list. And even if so, I do not disrespect anyone who's part of it. We aren't told to treat you guys any less. And for me, although I never encouraged the idea, I don't look lower on the person. Even I myself catch myself in a 'lesbian-feeling' situation sometimes.
And if you've seen the comments on the post I made about that Bill thing, all the comments agree with my anyway. We all collectively agree he went a little overboard but so what? I'm just saying. Suck on that, stupid hoe!
5. I support pedophilia.
Babe, check the post again and see how many people were totally okay with the damn post in the first place. I have never agreed ever that pedophilia was okay, and there's tons of older Tom fics with this age gap. Please, istg, do your research before crying over spilled milk to save yourself the embarrassment.
And, to let y'know, who ever sent these inbox messages, one of the friends that you sent these toāI think her name was 'pain of l0ve' or smtgāwas totally one of the biggest supporters on that post asking for a full blown fic of older tom and the 17 year old girl. She uses to be my follower too. Dw, I have a screenshot before she blocked me and tried to act all shocked and surprised that I post those malicious things you said! ^^
mm...that really pissed me off ngl š¤·āāļø
Anyway, that concludes it. Hope this answers your questions about all this misinformation that this person has spread in attempt to cancel me.
I also just want to put it out there that I'm really sorry for posting something like that, and now looking at it I do agree that it was weird. I apologise for anyone who got uncomfortable. All the death threats I've received weren't necessary though. I don't ever think it's right to go that far on anyone. Please be mindful sometimes. Other than that, I'm really sorry.
And I also wanna thank @itsangelll for being there for me when I couldn't answer all the haters myself. Girl you really helped me out, standing up for me and explaining the situation. Ilysm always šš
But for the cunt that sent out all the inbox messages, I hope you had fun doing so anyways :3 I really do appreciate all the stalking and effort you put in just for me so you could cancel me and be heard! š„ŗ Seriously the hero of the day! You really read through all my stuff so you could dig out the littlest things! Talk about dedication!! Quite obsessed I must say.
Kisses, love ya! ššš

It's been an age since I read the series, but I do think Rhys was intended to be one of the villains for the trilogy:
SJM scrapped her original plan for ACOMAF and wrote the current one. ACOMAF is touted as a hades x persephone retelling but it isn't really that at all. On her second (?) visit she decides to stay.
Rhys very much is the villain in book one but the end scene when they talk and the bond snaps was a different tone entirely - which makes me think it was a last minute edit to set up the new sequel
There are no mentions to Illyrians in ACOTAR - despite later finding out they did serve alongside Amarantha and were executed for it - the attor is the only one described as having leathery wings
There are also no mentions to Darkbringers who did also serve
Why would they serve Rhys if they hate him? It's explained as them being SO evil that they revel in Amarantha's punishment, but they would still need to follow his orders so it makes no sense that they would listen to him when they could bypass Rhys and bend the knee to her
It is retconned that with his single drop of leftover magic, he is able to shield Velaris and remove Amren, Mor, Cassian and Azriel from the memories of every single person in Prythian - which includes Mor's family, every Illyrian, the Vanserras, and Tamlin (in book 2, Tamlin and Lucien comfirm they know Cass & Az, Eris was engaged to Mor, Lucien calls Amren a scary story they tell children, the CoN apparently knows about Velaris) If Rhys wasn't the originally intended villain then...
Why does the king of Hybern who trained Amarantha - she uses his book of spells - do nothing for fifty years? The Suriel states that a hundred years earlier he sends spies to Prythian but Amarantha betrays him and traps the high lords and he then just chills
Why does he wait until the high lords are back to full strength to start a war to take over Prythian? He had fifty years to take over prythian when all of the high lords except one were trapped - but what? He was too scared of Amarantha? He needed an extra 8 months to launch his war?
Amarantha is his student so it stands to reason that he is stronger than her and could quite easily take over her coup with the army that was seemingly ready to go at any time. There's even a part in acotar where one creature questions the attor over whether amarantha thinks she's above the king. It's also stated that her revenge on jurian cost him the war because she didn't march with her section of the army, but he's benevolent enough to let her rule for 50 years
Hybern is made out to be this ghoulish country where they're all evil (just like Illyria and the Hewn City) with no variance amongst the people; they're all warriors too, clearly no children or farmers or smiths or matronly women. They're all nameless and faceless cannon fodder. There is no concern for the state of post-war Hybern or who rules in the king's stead, for the orphans and windows. It is underdeveloped as is the nameless king who is foolish enough to try and take over prythian only *after* its high lords have all had their power restored and are fortifying their courts

Le Docteur Marat #01: Marat's medical competence
Salut, citoyens!
With the aim of informing and making an analysis based on primary sources about Marat's medical career, a career that, unfortunately, is little known - and, when known, usually ridiculed or belittled in various ways - by many, i have decided to start a series of posts in which i intend to dissect on subjects related to Marat's medical experiences as well as his writings. These posts will contain all primary sources at my fingertips, and i apologize in advance for my terrible English, as it is not my native language and i am still learning.
In this first post, we will address the following question, so controversial, doubted and misrepresented by many historians over the centuries: Was Marat a good doctor?
Before this question can be properly answered, it is necessary to be aware that the image of the historical character that Marat eventually became has been constantly counterfeited, adulterated and inaccurately represented by countless sources over time. Even in life, Marat was frequently attacked by many of his contemporary adversaries, who invented lies and false rumors about him and his life - especially his pre-revolutionary life. It is no coincidence that Marat was in the habit of constantly defending himself and justifying his actions in issues of his newspaper, L'Ami Du Peuple. When he died, many of the lies attributed to him were perpetuated and many were also developed by other biographers, writers and historians. Understanding that Marat's pre-revolutionary life was the target of several attempts to defame his image during the course of history, it is possible to understand the reasons why many people question whether he was really a good doctor.
Marat's training as a physician is thought to have begun during his stay in Bordeaux from 1760 to 1762 (Marat being 16-19 years old), at which time he worked as a tutor to one of the sons of Paul Nairac, a merchant. It is likely that his father, Jean-Mara, had some influence on his medical career and other of his academic interests. In his Portrait de l'Ami du peuple tracĆ© par lui-mĆŖme (1793), Marat mentions his father:
"The temperament of my soul comes from nature, but I owe the development of my character to my mother; for my father never aspired to make me anything other than a scholar."
It is not known for certain whether Jean-Mara was in fact the one who led Marat down the path of medicine. What can be conjectured is that he seems to have studied extensively from 1762, when he moved to Paris and then moving to England, where he does indeed seem to have started his career. In his Essay on gleets (1775) he mentions his "10 years practice" in the field. Little information, however, exists about this time, and the beginning of Marat's medical career unfortunately remains somewhat obscure.
But what were Marat's real qualifications? What can prove that he was a truly competent doctor in the field in the eyes of other doctors?
He received an M.D. degree from Andrews University in Scotland on June 30, 1775. The full diploma, as well as other documents and correspondence, can be found in F. ChĆØvremont, Jean-Paul Marat. I will leave it here below:
Even with a properly attested diploma, written and signed by two competent doctors, it is to be expected that those who oppose Marat have created assumptions and myths about his qualification. Many of his smearers claim that he bought the degree, since he has not defended any thesis. Clifford Conner debunks this story in Jean-Paul Marat: Tribune of the French Revolution [pg. 19-18]:
"His detractors have claimed that because there is no record of his actually having attended classes there, he must have bought the degree. His diploma was signed, however, by two medical examiners who officially certified Marat's competence as a physician. One of them, Dr. William Buchan, was a prominent medical authority whose books were published in multiple editions in both English and French."
"The way St. Andrews bestowed its degrees seems lax according to modern standards of medical education, but such comparisons are anachronistic. When Marat received his M.D. in 1775, he had already been practicing medicine for ten years. It was common in the eighteenth century-and in France even well into the nineteenth-for universities to confer degrees as a way of certifying the professional competence and educational preparation of working practitioners who had not actually attended classes at those institutions. Despite the illustrious Dr. Johnson's famous quip about St. Andrews "growing richer by degrees," the university was not regarded as a mere diploma mill. Benjamin Franklin, for one, expressed pride in the doctorate it had awarded him. Marat's M.D. was unquestionably authentic by the standards of the day."
In addition to the diploma, which is more than good evidence that Marat had skill in the field of medicine, it is possible to see his vast experience and evolution in the field, or at least in human anatomy and physiology, from his A philosophical essay on man (1773). This work, being a kind of treatise divided into three books that renew the ideas of his Essay on the human soul (1772), is of a more philosophical nature, although it makes it clear that Marat was at least a great connoisseur of the human body and its peculiarities. None of the thinkers and philosophers who criticized Marat's work at the time denied his full knowledge of the physiological theories or the anatomy of the fluids he presented, revealing that he had an excellent command of the various areas of the human body, something that certainly indicates an undeniable medical wisdom.
This ability to understand physiology is evident in several passages in volume 3, de l'homme. Here's one of my personal favorites:
"The human body is an admirable machine. If we look at it from the structural point of view, what a multiplicity of parts! What a prodigious number of forces! What justice, what precision in their effects! What intimacy in their union, what harmony in their dependence! Not only does it bring together all that is most beautiful in mechanics, but it surpowers them infinitely by the simplicity & play of its refforts. But the most marvellous thing is that the organs that make up these different machines all have different functions, when examined as a whole. In the body, not a single spring is isolated, but all are linked to one another, in mutual dependence, and thus contribute to forming a harmonious whole. Even less admirable for its structure than for its functions: if you look at it from this angle, what an astonishing variety of functions all rolled into one! A machine that plays & holds itself. A machine that can wind itself up. A machine by means of which the Soul relates to windowed objects. Machine by means of which the soul can act on bodies. Machine by means of which the Soul knows pleasure & pain. Machine in which the Soul paints with energy. Machine capable of reproducing itself."
But what were Marat's methods? What were his cures, his specialties?
Well, Marat himself is the main source able to confirm his own healing methods. Throughout his pre-revolutionary academic career, he produced a packed collection of works, letters and accounts relating to his experiences as a physician, describing situations and cures he performed on various patients. There seems to be no reason to question the reality of these cures, since, in Essay on gleets, Marat states that his patients (all named by their initials, so as to remain anonymous), "would not refuse confirmation of the truth if other patients wished a private interview. They even promised me that." [pg. 18 in Payennevile's French translation].
It is known that he cured the Marquise de L'Aubespine of a disease that other doctors considered incurable, and so his notoriety as a doctor began to grow. But Marat's clientele is a subject for another post. It is impossible to talk about his medical techniques without mentioning one of his greatest passions and specialties in the scientific field: electrotherapy. Marat constantly defended and disserted on the effects of electric fluid in medicine, describing situations in which he had used electrotherapy to successfully treat some of his patients. He is above all a nuanced and lucid theorist, although fascinated by the progress of the discovery of electricity; even so, he does not allow himself to be carried away by mesmerism, which he openly opposes in his MƩmoire sur l'ƩletricitƩ mƩdicale (1773).
Moreover, it is important to mention observation as one of Doctor Marat's main methods. In all the branches in which he operates to some extent - even in his philosophy - observation is the most present, most striking feature, and the one most demonstrated by Marat himself as being his most effective technique for developing and associating healing methods. He seems to have a passion for observation and for relating the various sciences through in-depth analysis, which explains the thoroughness with which he shows he treats each of his patients. Although the cures and therapeutic procedures carried out and proposed by Marat did not deviate so much from what was common in the Age of Enlightenment, it is more than possible to consider that he had an early mentality and far beyond his time for an 18th century physician. This is evident in his writings on the treatment of blenorrhagia, for example.
In a number of letters to the Gazette de SantƩ, Marat describes the cures he performed on patients. This set of letters reveals precisely the medical techniques he used at the time in each case - including dilutions, infusions and decoctions - and also discusses electrotherapy. These letters prove that Marat was undoubtedly competent as a medical observer and that he often linked his medical practice with the physical knowledge he so valued. Marat's concern to assess each illness as an isolated case and examine its symptoms is noticeable in almost all the letters.
This excerpt from a letter written by Marat in response to the husband of one of his patients clearly shows his concern with the clinical evaluation of symptoms in order to formulate a diagnosis:
"Does the patient have any chest pain? Is there any tearing when she coughs? Does she sleep on both sides or on her back? Is his sputum stained with blood? Is there any pus? Has she been prone to colds? Does she experience any change in the atmosphere? Does she hemorrhage, and has she? How is her appetite? Does she have night sweats? Does she hemorrhage, and has she? Does she have a low-grade fever? Is she in a slump?"
The full letter, along with some other information about it, can be found on pages 130-132 of Marat inconnu (1891), by Docteur CabanƩs.
For a good period of his pre-revolutionary life, Marat was a typical physician and scholar of the Age of Enlightenment, demonstrating in his writings - however much they may have been purely publicistic - an undeniable wisdom in physiological, electrotherapeutic and physical knowledge in general. He has been, since his youth, a voracious reader, a real scholar and invariably a sage. Observation proved crucial to his medical technique, and the numerous letters and testimonies quoted above confirm the importance Marat attached to factors such as climate, diet and the behavior of his patients during their respective treatments. It is no wonder that he was able to cure many people with apparent effectiveness.
Marat evidently had a great deal of expertise in gonorrhea and eye-related diseases, cases in which he usually felt comfortable using electrification as one of his healing methods. All these characteristics of Marat's medicine are present in his letters to the Gazette de SantƩ, already mentioned above, and can also be seen in his medical works. In his book Marat (1996), Professor Olivier Coquard comments on this:
"On the whole, Marat appears as a typical representative of the doctors of the Enlightenment, despite training essentially acquired on the job. It targets a wealthy clientele, who pay dearly for their consultations and through which they want to integrate into society. His medical practice associates the use of the most traditional medicines with a very enlightened and precocious concern with clinical observation.
At the same time, the integration of electricity into the panoply of therapeutic instruments translates an essential aspect of Marathi's conception of science and the world: everything is interdependent. For the doctor, it is essential to master not only physiology, but the set of scientific disciplines."
What can we conclude from all this?
Marat was, in fact, a competent physician. He proved to have much more than a basic knowledge in medicine, and to claim that he was a quack in this field is quite wrong. The knowledge he possessed about anatomy and its different functions combined with his passion for the physical sciences and his autonomous, work-based experience and pure observation about treatments for eye diseases is groundbreaking in the historical context in which he found himself. Doctor Marat was very wise about his therapeutic techniques with electricity, the latter having been the target element of his studies for several long years of his life. In a future post, I would like to delve deeper into each of the cases and patients treated by Marat, exploring his clientele and his correspondence with Roume de Saint-Laurent, who was a great supporter of his scientific and medical career.
I end this long (?) post here. As much as we cannot witness his methods or watch his work live, there is no doubt that Marat was an advanced mind for his time as far as medicine was concerned. For various reasons, including his academic ambitions, his relationships, his scientific passions and his self-promoting ability, he was able to consolidate himself for a time very comfortably in this field, being known as Doctor Marat, who, possessed of a relatively well-off clientele, would probably not have imagined himself to be one of France's main revolutionary leaders in the near future. I am of the opinion, as is Dr. Jean-FranƧois Lemaire in his book Marat: homme de science? (1993) that Marat was an excellent doctor. His memory should therefore be taken seriously. Dr. Marat, an efficient, apt and prudent doctor, deserves to have the slanders against him debunked, so that people can understand that, before being a Friend of the People, he was above all a fine eccentric example of a Man of the Enlightenment.
Vitam impendere vero.
* I've taken a lot of inspiration from the biographies of Olivier Coquard and Docteur CabanƩs to write this post, and so I'm being careful to design them the credits for most of the things I've written and the information I've used! :)
* Some of the images are photos taken by me on my cell phone, so I ask for forgiveness if they are a bit bad to read.
* I apologize for my bad English, it is not my native language and that is why it took me a long time to write this post. The translations of the letters may also contain errors, as I was the one who translated them.

Late night post from me!
Itās currently 4am for me and Iām kinda skimming through my Daughter of the Whitebeard Pirates fanfic and (I knew from the beginning) Iām seeing some inconsistencies with the reader and their background and just a general disorganization of the character. Granted this is a first draft that Iām posting straight to AO3 and usually my fanfics donāt get edited after the first draft but considering this one has almost reached 10k views I feel a little more obligated to go through and make a full edit. Maybe even reorganize the characters past so that it seems a little more believable. As well as just make sure the things they say makes sense and doesnāt sound so jumbled at the moment.
Iād also like to note that though this fanfic is made for the general audience I am kinda life dumping on it heavily. Which to be honest you guys probably donāt care. However, itās kinda how I write in general. Itās like therapy for me just because I hate talking to people about it.
This fanfic also wasnāt initially supposed to be apart of a larger series I have planned but I decided when I was writing Part Two to say āwhy notā. Essentially Iām playing around with a broader character development and world building stuff with a much larger plot I have planned which is why the fanfic kinda delves into more fantasy based scenes. Kind of like a little twist to the whole One Piece universe. (If youāre following my account youāll see when I post my MHA Fanfic!)
Anyways, there are also other scenes Iād like to add to chapters that have already been posted. Things that elaborate or show just how reckless the reader can be. Right now, I donāt think that the story does it justice in its current state. The main example would be expanding on Part One. Itās only ten chapters now but I feel like I could add more scenes that kind of delve into the character more and show kinda how aloof and reckless they can be. Not only will this bolster the story but it will also make sense for a lot of the things in currently posting.
Additionally, I actually never intended for this fic to be 40+ Chapter long and nothing more than 20K words but here we are at 120K words! I like this story and the timeline itās running so far. I just want to clean it up so it makes more sense and is basically presentable for other readers who may find reading unorganized and confusing fics annoying.
Considering that I want to be a published author one day this would be an excellent opportunity and exercise. Iām deeply grateful for all the love and attention itās getting considering I decided to write it on a whim.

In Progress/Future/Potential Fics
This is more for my own reference than anything. Just to keep track of the fics Iām planning to write. I don't include posting dates anymore, as my schedule is more unreliable now, but this list is in the order I plan to write things.
Masterlist
Key:
š - Smutty Thoughts
š„ - Strictly Foreplay or Not Really Full-Blown Smut
š¦Ā - Smut
š„ - Arguing Between the Pairing
š - Angst
š - Fluff
ā¤ļøāš©¹ - Hurt/Comfort
šŗ - A/B/O Dynamics
āļø - Historical AU
In Progress:
1. Corruption (Request): part 2 & 3 šŗš¦
The Walking Dead - NOT related to 'the Claim' - a sheltered omega reader with no real knowledge about presentations, heat/rut cycles etc.
Alpha Rick Grimes/Omega Fem!Reader.
Future Fics:
1. Arthur Request š¦
Red Dead Redemption - Arthur fingering the Reader with his leather gloves on.
2. Arthur Request š¦
Red Dead Redemption - High Honor Arthur with a shy, virgin Reader
3. Coveted (Multi-Part Series) šŗšš¦
The Walking Dead - You and Rick have an agreement to help each other through your respective heats and ruts. Itās never been anything more than that, despite how much you wished for the opposite. After arriving in Alexandria, Rick decides that it's time your arrangement comes to an end and you reluctantly try to move on from the feelings you've developed for him. Nevertheless, jealousy ends up getting the better of you.
Sequel to Corruption.
Alpha Rick Grimes/Omega Fem!Reader.
4. Heat šŗš¦
The Walking Dead - Daryl has always had his own subtle way of helping you in the buildup to your heats. Turning a blind eye when one of his shirts goes missing, letting you scent him in private moments away from the othersā¦ but after the loss of the prison, your heat hits again while youāre on the road and Daryl has to take a more hands-on approach to help you this time.
Alpha Daryl Dixon/Omega Fem!Reader - *you essentially replace Beth in the period after the group loses the prison.
5. Nattstemning š¦
The Walking Dead - When the group arrives in Alexandria, it's revealed that there aren't enough beds for you all to get your own, so some of you have to share. You get paired with Rick and his hands tend to wander in his sleep. My first attempt at the āthereās only one bedā trope.
Rick Grimes/Fem!Reader.
6. The Devil in Me (Multi-Part Series) šŗš¦š
Supernatural - Dean gave up on finding his true mate a long time ago. Considering the life he leads, he always thought it was better that way. It must be another one of lifeās sick jokes that when he finally found you, it was while he bore the mark of Cain and right before he dies and comes back as a demon.
Demon!Dean/Deanmon, Mark of Cain Dean, Alpha Dean, Omega Reader, Female Reader.
7. The Claim (Rewrite) šŗš¦
The Walking Dead - A rewrite of the original that I intend to also make longer, with better pacing.
Alpha Rick Grimes/Omega Fem!Reader.
8. Undone in Sorrow (Rewrite) šŗš
The Walking Dead - I'd like to make some edits to this, but I've changed my mind about fully rewriting it.
Alpha Rick Grimes/Omega Fem!Reader.
9. Endzeitfragmente Part 3 (Untitled; Multi-Part Series) šŗš¦š
The Walking Dead - Sequel to the Claim and Undone in Sorrow, that I intend to be much more of an AU following the events of All Out War and to conclude Rick and the Reader's story. Still in very early stages of plotting it out, but I plan for it to be a big deviation from the show after s8's events.
Alpha Rick Grimes/Omega Fem! Reader.
10. Untitled Moon Knight Fic (Multi-Part Series) āļøšā¤ļøāš©¹š¦š
Moon Knight - Historical AU where you are the daughter of a King, who decides to marry you off to the mysterious Marc Spector who is keeping more secrets than you ever could have imagined. Arranged marriage; no MCU powers; takes inspiration from Henry VIII's reign and court; includes all three moon boys.
Marc Spector/Fem!Reader, Steven Grant/Fem!Reader, Jake Lockley/Fem!Reader.
Potential Fics:
These are fic ideas I've had that aren't high on my list in terms of priority and that I haven't seriously committed to writing. If any stick out to you, feel free to let me know that you're interested as it may make me more inspired to write them.
1. Shelter for My Soul šš
Red Dead Redemption - In his final days, Arthur finds the time to slip away from camp and visit his family. As he takes it all in for the last time, he remembers the times youāve all spent together.
Arthur/Fem!Reader - *You and Arthur are married and have children (but you have your own home and donāt live with the gang).
2. A Fine Night of Concealed Debauchery š¦
Red Dead Redemption - While the gang throws a party, a slightly drunk Arthur is playing poker and pulls you onto his lap. It isn't long before his hands start wandering under the table, making him quickly lose focus on the game.
Arthur Morgan/Fem!Reader.
3. Dominance, Submission šŗš¦
The Walking Dead - You act recklessly (yet again), causing Rick to force you into submission and teach you a lesson. Light bdsm, set in the early prison era. A light sequel to āthe Claimā that can be read independently of it.
Alpha Rick Grimes/Omega Fem!Reader.
4. I Don't Know Where I'm Bound š¦Ā š ā¤ļøāš©¹ š
Red Dead Redemption - A Multi-Chapter slight AU covering 1885 - 1899 and telling the story of Arthur and an OFC. I have about 1/4 of this story written and not published. I'll only publish it if I manage to finish the draft, as I don't want to end up abandoning it part way through.

Otakuthon 2024 Cosplay Recap
I used to do con recaps and I kinda miss it. I'm still writing down post-mortem entries on costumes offline to keep track of the good and the bad of a costume's first wear, though. It's helped me learned from mistakes and apply solutions to future builds to avoid issues.
While I don't really wanna review the con itself, I think making these logs public is very relevant information to pair up with Build Logs, so it's time to revive the tradition.
So, let's set the stage real quick. This is at Otakuthon, and it's a 35k+ people convention that keeps happening in the middle of a heat wave almost Every. Damn. Year. Also, 35k+ people is very much over the limit the convention area can comfortably take. Also it was humid as all hell. And so, so hot.
On a personal level, I've been dealing with general hobby exhaustion from things like wig burns, The Sensory Bullshit That Is Stage Makeup, and spending too much time stressing over keeping a costume intact for photos. So this year, the goal was "Silly, Casual, and No Bullshit." No wigs, no makeup, and everything has to be carry-able in a bag or two on public transit. Having begun this philosophy shift after last year's Otakuthon, I made three costumes during the year, leading to debut them during the 2024 edition.
Friday!
Friday was Robed Man from hit video game Final Fantasy VII Remake/Rebirth. I made Cloud many years ago, but the exhausting perfectionism bullshit I was carrying within me was keeping me from feeling like making another named character from the series. Figured this would be a silly idea that could be re-worn for future Final Fantasy events. Friday was the perfect day for it since there was a Distant Worlds concert in the evening.
The Good:
Super quick to set up in the morning. Just a little bit of eye shadow to accentuate the dead fish look, throw the whole costume in a bag and it's good to go. More sleep, yay!
My purse fit under the whole thing for a seamless, accurate look, which was unintended but neat.
It was super easy to pull off and put back on within seconds whenever it got too hot.
The Bad:
It's supposed to be lightweight and breathable, but even with a tank top and shorts underneath I was sweating up a storm. The cloak is so big that it became too heavy to catch any air flow.
Despite pre-washing the fabric, the fabric's dye rubbed off on a couple things, notably the silicone on my water bottle and the rubber backing of some pins. Not on skin or clothes, thankfully.
Verdict: Worked as intended. a snap button's stitching broke on one of the scarves but the button stayed in place, so I quickly fixed it when I noticed it. As for the fun factor, it was great. It made for hilarious candid photos, and there was only a smidge of eye shadow to watch out for instead of the whole face being covered in makeup. It's absolutely unrecognizable IRL from the front though in a large convention setting full of costumed people, so not even FFVII cosplayers said anything š It was fun to bring out for the concert, but I'm mostly looking forward to pulling it out for other small events now instead of cons.
Saturday!
Sonic was the costume for the big day. He was one of my dream cosplays when I first got into the hobby as a teen, so finally having it as a mascot cosplay was, well, SUPER HYPE. I was apprehensive bringing in a full-body mascot after sweating my ass off with just a cloak, but then decided I wasn't going to skip my chance to be Sonic and just go for it. I needed to do it at least once... The Good:
EVERYTHING (ish). SO HYPE
It was reasonable to carry in public transport with large enough bags. Not the most optimal, but more than acceptable. Two bags just so the shoes aren't rubbing on everything else.
I could put it on and remove it quickly without help, and wear it partially when I needed to cool off (arms tied at the waist and head in hand)
Surprisingly easy to navigate with. I didn't need a handler at all times, and spent most of my time fullsuiting by myself. Performing was comfortable, vision was very good straight ahead, and range of motion was excellent outside of the head spikes.
Against all odds, this was super comfortable despite the heat wave! The underlayer carried this entire experience. I could wear the full thing and perform in short hour bursts, then remove the head and pull the suit halfway down for a break with a neck fan, often while going to a panel or something like that. I was still sweating (drenched, even), but the underlayer just made it feel hot instead of sticky and disgusting and cooled down very quickly during breaks.
Sidenote, but I think I look really fuckin' cool with the head off and my badass disheveled hair. Like I felt REALLY COOL instead of worrying about ruining my makeup or whatever stressors I'd have with other costumes.
The donut-shaped support inside the head was great at redistributing the weight comfortably. Didn't have have neck or head pain the whole time.
Batteries for integrated head fans and neck fan did not run out with a whole day of wear.
The Bad:
The integrated head fans didn't seem help much. They didn't cool things to any noticeable degree, and the lack of mouthhole makes this a very sweaty head (especially compared to Wurmple; more below). They might've kept the head from being absolutely dogshit to wear, but it's hard to tell if it actually moved air around. Not a massive issue with the regular breaks, however.
Minor gripe, but the fan system I bought didn't have a on-off switch, so I had to dig in the battery pocket to unplug the fans every time I took a longer break.
The shoes, while easy to walk in, force longer strides that gave me quite the calf workout by the end of the day.
No major breaks during the day, but the shoes' rubber soles slightly peeled off in a few spots by the end of the day. Nothing a little contact cement can't fix., and technically "good" since it means I can safely remove and replace it if it gets too worn out.
I need someone to hold the head if I want to go to the bathroom, otherwise I'm having a really bad time.
Sonic looks kinda booby unfortunately but that's the perfectionist talking and I've vowed to destroy that mindset
Verdict: Holy shit this was worth braving the heat wave, worth all the hours trying to get the build looking just right, worth EVERYTHING! The reception from the people was awesome; I haven't talked to this many people in years, and everybody loved the mascot so much. I got to nerd out about Sonic, nerd out about the build, fist bump people and make them smile. It's my first fullsuit and it turns out I also love the performance aspect of it. The build lasted throughout the whole day with no damage (outside of the rubber soles, but I was expecting more than the small amount that began peeling) The perfectionism mindset I've been fighting with for years wasn't an issue because all the things I spent time getting just right are actionable design decisions like scale and material choices, not just "welp, I don't look like what I had in mind wearing this because I'm a real human and not a stylized 2d character."
Sonic re-ignited my love for cosplay and gave me a whole new style of costume I want to keep exploring and working on. Obviously planning to take Sonic out to other conventions if I can troubleshoot how to fit him into a suitcase.
Sunday!
Wurmple was my official first foray into fursuit making proper. I wanted to make a suit for years and finally committed, but I wasn't super interested in making an OC/fursona at the time so I picked a PokƩmon I liked that looked interesting to make (I really wanted to sew the grub butt). I made him all the way back last August; he's the first costume from the "fuck wigs and makeup" era. I wanted to go for a bug-catcher summer look, complete with a little bug "cage" and a net. (I was genuinely worried someone might get full size nets a bad rap at the con with the gnome meme currently going on, so I just went with a tiny shrimp net instead.)
The Good:
The head is actually really breathable. Partialing plays a major part in the overall comfort, but the breathing hole is positioned in such a way a neck fan blows straight into it. The only sweaty area is the contact spot between my back and the tail.
It's easy to bring to the con, like the other costumes. Just stuff the parts in a small bag and go.
The dang thing is basically indestructible, so there's no worries navigating crowds or squishing the tail to sit down or whatever.
The Bad:
The vision is terrible. I absolutely need to hang onto a handler or remove the head if I'm doing anything more than standing around and talking. It's so narrow it messes up with my depth perception. The curse of trying to engineer vision out of a weird character design...
I can't really sit down on a chair with this tail unless I shove it to the side or remove it entirely, which is cumbersome since I thread the tail belt to my shorts for extra stability.
The tail is kind of dumptrucky enough that it got caught in the crowd more often than Sonic's whole costume did overall. Probably because Sonic is so massive he commands respect of personal space and Wurmple's bugass is very subtle in some angles, but it's enough of a concern to point out.
Verdict:
People got a good laugh out of Wurmple and more attention than I've gotten for costumes on average in the last couple years, so that was fun. No breakage either, but I expected these results since I've worn it outside a few times now. It was also by far the least sweaty costume of the weekend, being "regularly" comfortable despite the heat wave (in part thanks to the smaller Sunday crowd.) But the vision really dampens the experience enough that I'd rather keep it for furmeets or other less active events than a full-on convention. Enough workarounds to still be worth bringing around, but I'd love making another PokƩsuit that doesn't have this glaring vision issue to rep the series!
Closing
Overall, if you ignore the massive crowds in a tiny space and the debilitating heat wave, Otakuthon went super well! It didn't stand out much event-wise to the other years (though getting to meet Shota Nakama and seeing the Distant Worlds performance were two standouts experiences), but the personal end of it, cosplay-wise, was a huge success. The people I got to interact with were all wonderful, and I got to figure out a new costume niche I want to explore more (hint: less wigs, more mascots). I'd say it was one of my favorite cons to date for cosplaying. I'm writing this as the costumes are drying, and my last observation is that save for the fursuit heads and Sonic's shoes, these costumes can survive the washing machine (something I always try to account for) and I'm so very thankful for that. Washing the heads by hand was a wholeass workout in in itself though, but thankfully Sonic's eyes are waterproof and the electronics are remove-able so I can deep clean him for the next event! On the menu for future events: repair Sonic's shoes, implement a on/off switch in Sonic's fan systems, and start planning out a new PokƩmon fursuit. Hope this might've shed some light on the kind of post-mortem observations I note down after wearing new cosplays to a con! Thank you for reading.

Weekly Update for 20 March, 2023
howdy folks! welcome to the next weekly update!
Mind Games: Trepidation
So, as we all know, the full Chapter 5 Update was released early last week! I'm so glad a lot of y'all really seemed to enjoy it, it's definitely my favorite chapter I've written so far! And the feedback has been SUPER helpful for when I go back and do more edits in the future.
I have also started my Chapter 6 roughdraft writing! I had a piece of feedback that made me really think about pacing, so I actually started Chapter 6 kinda late given everything going on IRL and because I took time out to rewrite my Chapter 6 planning to make the pacing flow better. I am very happy with it now, and how writing is going so far!
But, I know you're wondering, Cy how is writing going so far? PHENOMENALLY! I've actually finished the roughdraft to Scene 1 and I'm halfway through Scene 2 already! The word count is sitting at about 3,000 words (I was going to hit 3,000 fully today but I'm a bit out of it, we'll get to that later down the post), and I've already got quite a few areas picked out to add fun customisation, important customization, and some places where your choices will affect things down the line... teehee. But, yes, things are going GREAT so far! There's only 4 scenes planned for Chapter 6, so technically we're actually almost 50% of the way through the initial roughdraft. Pretty crazy!!!
I've also decided I will keep the Mind Games series as a free series through CS. Mind Games is intended to be a coding-heavy game given I want there to be so many places where shit can change from earlier decisions, and I do not want to change to an entirely new program. CS has everything I want for Mind Games, and thus it will be staying there.
Now, real life stuff... I'm not gonna lie, I have had a really tough week getting any writing done. Hell, getting anything done. And next week will be more of the same. My mom went to the hospital on the 13th with a serious skin infection that has spread down her leg. And, after a week of antibiotics, things still hadn't gotten better so she had surgery this Sunday. I also have two serious cardiac tests on Wednesday, and it's basically a bunch of shit happening at once. I will try to keep working, but progress might be slow for the end of March.
Okay, that's all I got! Have a great week and be safe!

"To see a World in a Grain of Sand and a Heaven in a Wild Flower, hold Infinity in the palm of your hand and Eternity in an hour" - William Blake
The Aether Mirror, A Transmirrored Photography Series.
Before we continue I'd like to clarify that the world I've created with this photography series is intended as fiction so how you decide to perceive it is ultimately dependent on you and your beliefs.
Now letās start this off by delving into the core concept, what is "The Aether Mirror" The Aether Mirror is a metaphysical concept that acts as a bridge between our world & 'The Aether Realm' It is not a physical mirror but rather a function.
This function enables us to reflect the existence of otherworldly entities, like gods and ancient primordial forces that pre-date humanity.
The Aether Mirror refers to the act of mirroring objects through my photography into abstractions, and through that process, creating perfect symmetry. That perfect symmetry and control of visual chaos from things in the world around us (Isolating Chaos) acts as a metavisual and subconscious window that reflects things beyond our reality.
This mirroring process thins the veil between dimensions and creates a window into the Aether Realm that's primarily accessible through the subconscious mind (More on that later) Narratively the mirrored images in my work are more than aesthetic choices as they can reveal vague reflections of beings from the Aether Realm.
These Aethers can manifest themselves through the complexities found in various materials such as wood, stone and water when mirrored. These materials act as conduits that allow them to manifest their presence into our minds.
However, what we see are merely distorted versions of their true forms. Because of this, the pieces in the series often share base visual traits like wood, because the material doesn't matter, only the visual complexities within what i'm photographing.
These beings could appear in a bowl of soup, if the visual chaos and creative structure behind them aligned perfectly. Wood, stone, and water happen to have deeply fluid and chaotic visual traits, and because of the real world tether, it makes it that much easier. By using photography and my stylistic structure, I am visually transforming everyday elements of the world around us into otherworldly forms.
It also serves as a way to transform the medium of photography and to define mirrored photography as its own visually distinct genre." in conjunction with the narrative and the visuals i've effectively created a new genre in photography. I call this transformative subgenre 'Transmirrored Photography.'
I describe 'Transmirrored Photography' as the act of mirroring a photograph into something uniquely transformative with its own distinct visual identity. In essence, Transmirrored photography is akin to alchemy.
The symmetrical reflections in the art morph our perception of reality into something else entirely. The post-processing aspect is the photographing equivalent to tracing with my imagination.
I see very specific creatures and entities in the things i photograph and from there i mirror the photograph to create the full picture and use post-editing software to highlight the traits of what i see to the point where the abstract becomes objective.
Just as alchemy sought to turn lead into gold, my photos turn the familiar into something transformative, conceptually or further depending on your beliefs.
The psychological component of the Aether series lies in its ability to tap into the subconscious mind through the Pareidolia effect.
The Pareidolia effect is a scientific term regarding the human tendency to assign meaning to abstract visuals. This effect is crucial because conceptually, the Aether Realm is most accessible in dreams (More on that soon) when the subconscious mind takes over.
On a metaphysical level this is why your subconscious mind perceives entities and other things in my photography, because when you dream you touch the veil of the Aether and your subconscious is retaining aspects of what you saw from the Aether in your dreams. Your brain is then connecting the beings you saw on the other side of the veil from your dreams with my abstractions.
Its like gazing into the reflection of a rippling puddle, these pieces show us glimpses of another world, but they are imperfect and fleeting. The true form of these entities are only visible within the Aether Realm, where the rules of time and space bend in ways incomprehensible to the human mind.
There are currently over 40 different Aether types in the series, some from traditional folklore and religion and others unique onto themselves.

Darkwhisper Chronicles: March 2024 Update
Hello again. It is time for my second update on the first wave/starter novels. It is my belief that as I post more updates, they will get shorter in tandem with a reduced need to explain my process. Given the holidays, a vacation, and a few other occurrences, my writing has been a little at a time save for a big burst at the beginning and toward the end, and for that, it felt appropriate to space out these updates a little further.
I have written an additional 158 pages for Damnation 1 (The Scouring of Morthir) representing 7 new chapters. The temporary method I mentioned in the previous update has worked for the purposes of making sure the penultimate act of the novel is written according to my vision with the right amount of passion for each sequence. After writing most of the chapters in this act out of order, I took a full day to perfectly realign everything as chronologically intended, and am on my way to tying up loose ends before the final act and climax can commence. It should only be a few more chapters before I go into said final act, and because of that, Damnation 1 may very well be the first of the starter novels to be completed.
In late January, I also felt a strong wave of inspiration for another novel and hyper-fixated on it for several weeks before my mind settled. I have written 55 pages in the book Thieves' Honor after rewriting several other preexisting pages, bringing its primary storyline page-count up to about 63 pages and 2 chapters. I wrote numerous other scenes that would bloat that number, but found the sense to edit and scrap them when deciding they either did not fit the tone or bogged down the first act. Although Thieves' Honor remains under the 100-page minimum that I projected for bringing up additional novels in these updates, progress was staggering enough that it felt appropriate to mention.
Admittedly, life has been busy in the last quarter, but I am optimistic that opportunities will come and give me a chance to get on another kick that brings the series forward in bounding strides. We will see how the next few months pan out, and until then, I return to my work.

In light of the update video, I decided to take a some stock of my own past year. Especially in regards to my own writing, which I have been struggling with big time the last month and a half or so.
So I went to AO3 to check out my stats.
This year I posted 24 completed works in 3 different fandoms. A lot of them were shorter fics, one shots or only a few chapters long, and 21 of them were for Sanders Sides but considering I have written a total of 65 fics for Sanders Sides since 2020, that means about 32% of my total Sanders Sides fics were written this year alone.
That's a lot.
I've also had some incredibly kind and positive feedback on a number of my fics in these last few months. And that has been so...refreshing and encouraging and it just makes my heart feel so full. It truly has been a dream come true.
It's also been terrifying.
In the last few years since writing Sanders Sides fics I have gained a few frequent readers and I want to be able to give my best to them because of the support they give me by leaving kudos or comments or reading my works at all. The fact that there are people on the internet reading and enjoying my stories fills my heart with so much joy and it is still absolutely mind boggling to me, even after all this time.
In the update video when Thomas was talking about feeling the pressure of wanting knowing how much people enjoyed the series and wanting to make sure what he was writing lived up to those expectations, it was a break through moment for me.
I really don't have many subscribers on AO3, but even on my small scale I feel that pressure and I can't even begin to imagine that burden on as large a scale as Thomas has. But it made me realize that I was falling into a similar trap.
It feels so good to know that people enjoy something that I created, that I poured my very heart and soul into, and I want to continue writing at that level and to excel those expectations readers may now have of me. But in trying to meet those expectations and the expectations from myself I was losing sight of my love storytelling.
I was feeling confident in my ideas for my stories, but not necessarily the execution. And when he talked about how you can tell when a video is done out of obligation and not love, that struck a cord too, because I can feel that in my own writing.
I absolutely admire the vulnerability that came with the update video, and I am very grateful for the things it helped me see in myself.
In 2022, I started a my Parent AU Collection which I had intended as a challenge to myself to write only fluffy one shots. That didn't last long, as you can see going through them and the two installments I'm currently working on are very hurt/comfort heavy, but they still stretched me in fun ways.
And I think because they were such short pieces it was really easy to get them written, edited, and posted fairly quickly. And I got such a sense of accomplishment from that rapid-fire posting, that I've been kind of chasing that high ever since.
So with the idea of giving grace to ourselves going forward into the new year, I am going to work on not feeling guilty for not getting fics out and posted as quickly as I have in the past. I have some...pretty heavy topics that I want to put into some works that are very vulnerable topics in general and for me personally. And I want to be able to take the time to do them justice.
And I want to be able to grant myself the grace to take time on writing the ideas that I believe so strongly in.
I've come a long way as writer these last few years. I am more confident in my ideas and concepts now than I have ever been. I still struggle with my confidence in my ability to execute my ideas and I will be working on that as well, but I am so confident in the stories I have to share and I am so happy for that change in me.
I have written more than just the stories that were posted to AO3. I was a Whumptober completionist for crying out loud! I've done a lot this year that I'm proud of in my writing. I've also done a lot that I'm less proud of. But I don't want to let that hold me back going into this new year.
I want to take the confidence that I have learned this past year and put it together with reckless abandon and passion for story telling and just really have fun with writing again.
The Parent AU Collection has done so much to help me, and I want to take that energy and apply it to some of these newer fics that I'm currently a little unsure of. Because I believe these are stories that need to be told. But they don't have to be told right now, they'll come at their own pace.
My worth as a writer isn't hinged on churning out fics as fast as possible. My worth is inherent. And my stories are beautiful, even when they're not for everyone. Especially then.
I don't know what 2024 is going to hold, but I know I'm going to continue writing the stories I believe in, that I am passionate about. And I'm going to let those stories develop naturally and in their own way.

Hello friends and fans!! I finally have some updates for yaāll!
Iāve been working on this project alone for months, specifically since the day Pixelberry announced they will no longer continue forward with Immortal Desires. I was so crushed and saw so many other players and fans feel the same way. So, I decided to start messing around with making my own fan sequel after seeing @itlivesproject @thedistantshoresproject and @nightboundthesecond doing so well and seeing amazing products. Iām going to school for a BA in Game Art and Design, and my minor is Creative Writing, and I thought this would be a good go for my first video game. And I couldnāt be more excited to see things falling into place! I now have a writer onboard! Meet Mir! @timetravestyā Hey everyone, Iām Mir and Iāll be helping out with the Immortal Desires 2 project! Iām a writer here on tumblr (couple of months till I hit the 1 year markšÆ) and am really excited to be a part of this amazing project with everyone, but more importantly, helping deliver an amazing story to a series that ended too soon! Since we might know each other for a bit, some fun facts about me š¤Iāve wanted a dog since I was around 6. I probably listen to my Spotify account 20/24 hours in the day.My favorite video games to play are animal crossing, stardew, undertale, Minecraft, and I was pretty into Haven recently, which I highly recommend šMy favorite ghibli movie (since I had a marathon recently) is spirited away.Iām very excited for the future of this project and please look forward to future updates! šNice to meet you all!
Weāre still slowly moving, but, Mir and I have started expanding upon the plot points Iāve had planned for a while. Weāre confident weāre going to be able to work well together to deliver a wonderful, full story for all of you.
And I couldnāt forget Ally! @fuckyeahilovemarcolinfanā
Iāve been a long-time fan and player of Choices; I started playing in December of 2016, but I started getting into the fandom somewhere around the end of 2018, and started on an IG that I created way back in 2014. I didnāt really intend to make my IG account about Choices, but I wanted to connect with people who have the same interests as me, and to share my ideas and opinions about the book releases. A very dear friend of mine started teaching me how to collect assets at some point in time, and Iāve been kind of considered a Spoiler Queen ever since then lol. I focused on posting premium scenes because I want everyone to see those scenes since not everyone can afford them. I started making edits way back in October 2019 because I really wanted people to distinguish me. All in all, Iām very fortunate that my best bud showed me how to access these assets.
Ally has been wonderful in helping me acquire assets and just being super supportive and so helpful. She is so enthusiastic about this project and has been just giving the best vibes!
Now that youāve met the team, time for some awaited updates for yaāll! First, lets start with the preview!!.
So, to state the obvious, this is everyone in their formal wear! I have also given all of the side characters formal wear, but I felt like these are what the people are screaming for! And of course, we have our lil Sethy-poo included in here too and he got a makeover! If you would be so kind to click play at the video at the top because itās featuring a rough draft of the title song. Itās my own lil creation, however, Iām recruiting folks from my local music scene to not only help out with this project, but to help support their bands and their projects!
Super bummed that the quality of these dropped because of the formatting, but I have included all three of the new expressions Iāve created: playful, shy, and disgusted. All of the main and primary characters have these faces! I have also gotten all of the female MC sprite sheets done, most of the female clothes, and all of the hair; Iām so excited to give you guys that update in the future!! From here, Mir and I will be working on a very rough draft of the story. I will continue working on assets for the MC since almost all of the primary/main characters are done.Ā
The next update will likely be a few weeks from now; Iām not sure what Iāll have for yaāll quite yet, but please stay tuned and ask any and all questions. Thank you all for the overwhelming amount of support and love; itās greatly appreciate between me and the team.
