I genuinely cannot stand when fans go around “correcting” other fans about a character/ship that’s based off a popular headcanon or occasionally a piece of work that is popular but also is not truly canon

It’s completely fine to headcanon whatever you like about a character, they’re fictional they don’t have rights or feelings or boundaries that you’re crossing by headcanoning them a bit(or a lot) different than they are because-and I can’t stress this enough- they aren’t real

but it’s just flat out stupid to say someone else is wrong for not also agreeing regardless of how well you or anyone else thinks it fits the character or “makes more sense” or thought it was “heavily implied” but for some reason this has become a much more common occurrence to do in fandoms(particularly regarding toxic shipping culture)

If you really like and agree with a wildly accepted headcanon that’s great! That just makes it easier to find content you’ll enjoy, but don’t try and falsely correct others just because they don’t agree with it and like the real canon or headcanon something completely different(because as previously stated, they aren’t real, so headcanon whatever you want and just ignore any you dislike)

Fictional characters are free for interpretation by all fans, if you disagree with someone else’s particular interpretation, simply move on. It truly is that easy

hey remember when i left those tags on that post?

i still don’t want to talk about what the work of fiction is but i legit just got reminded today that while it’s been like over 15 years that i did want to check this thing, the character that “caught my interest like 7 years ago” actually caught my interest 12 years ago. As in, there was a specific moment in time when i wanted to get into it because i learnt about the character in question.

i’ve been in hysterics for the past ten minutes because i’m realizing it’s been over a decade that once in a while i had humored starting this thing, and that while it definitely started out of another place, it’s been 12 years that steadily it was because this character was standing out to me enough that i wanted to get into it, but then forgot all about it, and now i’m out there actually getting into it after a *dream that came out of nowhere about this chara popping up while i haven’t thought of them in years* and i’m just. 

bestfriendo is making fun of me because “this is the most slowburn in all of history of fav characters” and i’m screaming into my hands, imagine considering getting into something for OVER A DECADE while constantly one character keeps standing out for you and eventually you just get a dream out of nowhere of this chara like a sudden “hey. I’ve been sending you messages about it for the past decade why the fuck are you leaving me on read” and now you’re not only forced to pay attention but also forced to realize YOU COULD HAVE STARTED ALL OF THAT OVER TEN YEARS AGO i’m feeling so unwell.

Then I remember that. I've had a similar experience with being an old-school persona fan. Back before p5 (the original) was out and the fandom was so much smaller. And then with the release of p5 and Especially with p5r. The fandom is so much fucking bigger.

the way they sing "I'm ali-i-ive"... man. emotions even when I don't have a blorbo to project them onto. but I think part of the identity crisis of being a clone, especially one programmed for someone else's purpose, is being unsure of your own personhood. I mean, don't we all question our personhood? (joke, I know we don't all.) Songs that celebrate being "alive" or "real" or "existing" take on this extra meaning in the context of good ending!Chris, i.e. being alive in his own right. having a self who can be alive, rather than just a body.

Also, "got an edge I'm holding"... he wouldn't be A-Okay in the good end. Some of that paranoia is sticking. Hopefully it can metamorphise into a more well-adjusted caution. I think being cautious and Aware of his surroundings/self, and maintaining privacy, would be a point of pride for him. Especially since the choice to be cautious (see: active verb, holding) is a choice he takes. See reclaiming your mind and personality after biological mind control, and suchlike.

Some of his paranoia and need for privacy is Lab Rat's Birdcage trauma, but Chris has also spent his whole life with Lab Rat looking over his metaphorical shoulder. He has his own, very real, trauma regarding surveillance and invasion/violation of privacy. This at least would stick around after casting off the Imperatives - and contribute to the aforementioned pride: "you're not taking me again". I also do think the implanted Birdcage memories would stick. The Good Ending I envision isn't getting rid of the implanted personality, more like breaking it down and digesting it and reincorporating it into one coherent personality. Just give him free will, okay, he'll handle the rest.

I just wanna see my boy holding optimistic, constructive, healthy beliefs. Especially if he's still friends with Kenzie and she holds them too. They both deserve this viewpoint. It's also one that gets a lot of practical use as a Tinker.

Again... see everything about consciously maintaining your wits and defenses, as a healing act in itself. And see what I said about accepting and reclaiming the body and mind. "Rugged" seems like a good way to describe a personality that's weathered not one, but two highly traumatic parahuman lives. And "body made of blades" is just!! I love it as a line in its own right!! It's very evocative. Here, it works in the sense that "your body has hurt you, but you can claim and wield it to further your goals. it can become a source of strength and safety even if it is built for violence." (I was gonna say "defend and protect", but he's still a shithead even when he has a sense of self and some free will.).

can't believe blackwood farm is just a cheesy text-based supernatural fantasy romance rpg game. quinn is just a blank-slated self-insert player character. He gave off "player character who can be selected as either "male" or "female" on the start-up screen but the choice doesn't impact the story whatsoever because the dialogues and choices would be literally the same" vibe. Meanwhile, lestat, former villain, current anti-hero, now a featured bisexual love interest that everybody calls "playersexual". This book has only one purpose, and it is to let you imagine what's like to want to fuck lestat through the perspective of the most pathetic most livejournal fanfiction.net self-insert character ever who also happens to be a bit louis look-alike. This book is so fucking bad, but at least it's hilarious.

Hands down the hottest, sexiest Silco fic in my opinion. If you enjoyed Fleabag or want to bang that priest from Midnight Mass then you need to get on this fic ASAP. To this day I cannot set foot in a church without getting horny. Thanks Study.

This is the Silco fic that made me want to write my own. DWM exists because of Sweaty. Domestic romance and drama of the absolute best kind.

I've only picked one fic for each of the above but I would honestly recommend just tearing through the entirety of their fic lists because there are some absolute masterpieces in there. This is also far from an extensive list - there are so many incredible writers in the fandom and I'm so sorry for anyone I've missed off. I say this with my whole heart - the Silco fandom is easily one of the most talented and skilled corners of the internet. We may be fairly small in numbers compared to other characters/fandoms, but by God the art and stories we have are platinum quality.

Hi! Here's a big masterpost for everything you need to know about this project!

The No More Zero Comments (NM0C) Project is dedicated to reducing the number of fics on AO3 with no comments. This is a multifandom community effort with very few rules which you can very easily undertake alone, but hey, why not join us?

The goal is simple: find fics with no comments, read them and leave the author a comment. If you want, you can go out and find fics on your own, but we also have a handy spreadsheet full of fics for you to browse!

You can find the spreadsheet here. There are tonnes of different fandoms to choose from. It will be updated regularly with new fics, so check back as often as you like.

Do you have a fic with zero comments? You can submit it here to be added to the spreadsheet. There is no limit to how many you can submit, and no limits on what you can submit. Any fandom, any category, any rating, no matter how old it is. Yes, even explicit fics. We aren't picky around here. You can also submit other people's fics if you wish.

All I ask is, if you submit your own fics, try and comment on some too! Balance, equality, etc.

The only real rule for submissions is no AI. This blog is vehemently anti-AI and will not accept any fics that use it.

That'd be me, Izak, better known as @lightningzombie! I run this blog alone for now. And yes, I did put my own fics into the spreadsheet. I put it up to a vote and people said I could!

Why did you decide to do this?

Frustration with the lack of comments on my fics and the death of comment culture in general. Bewilderment when I saw a fic that had 1200 kudos and no comments. The joy that leaving 100 comments and receiving 20+ during the Febuwhump commentfest brought me. Boredom. Many reasons!

Is there a prize/competition?

Nope! No incentives whatsoever. Just the joy of fan fiction, of commenting, and community spirit.

Will you do events?

Yes, I plan to! I'm not sure what yet, though.

You are "human". "Martian" or "Xy'xeruian", something else, and you never question it. Even when you've left behind everything ELSE. Your name, your eyes, your history and skin. Yet you fly around and pretend. Still alive, still human.

Or just the form you found your start in?

And like? It's okay if it IS! Sometimes, yeah, you ARE. You look down deep and find a "don't know what you were expecting, buddy" sign stapled to a mirror. But more often? It's that last hurdle. The final step in Letting Go.

And WORSE? Superman? Can't TOUCH it! Oh sure, at FIRST he could! But then he apparently pushed too hard in just one spot! And it felt POKED AT. So now, after flicking superman HALFWAY BACK TO EARTH to make him stop? No one can physically touch it!

But! There is hope!

Because? The creature is GREEN. Bright, luminous, Lantern Green! And Earth's Lanterns have already sent for back up. Combined? The were able to move a... hand? Paw? Something. But! With the combine forces of several nearby sectors of Lanterns? They promise the power to either relocate the creature or at least hold it in orbit until FURTHER forces can be deployed!

They refuse to harm the creature until it proves actively hostile, as it could have been seeking a place to nap and chosen one inconvenient to established planetary life. Frankly? Earth doesn't CARE where you relocate the giant Eldritch Space Dragon. Just NOT IN OUR BACKYARD, PLEASE.

....YES WE ARE SURE! We don't CARE if the scientific community of our planet is begging you to set up an area for them to place an "observation satellite"! No giant Eldritch Space Dragons in our solar system! It might WAKE UP!
